SaltBurn (2023) Dir. Emerald Fennell

I watched this movie high and drunk on New Year, and I think it added to it the wried factor that the flim proudly wants to see as. Thought a month after watching and being able to actully sit on what the movie was trying to say, as well as all the discouse that came with it, i would have to say it only an ok movie. I did like how he movie look and many of the actor gave good performace, but like other then, it felt like the movie never went far enogh with it idea it wanted to present and more or less felt like it was following the trend of eat the rich movie rather then actully haveing anything to say about the ideas of wealth. And beacuse of that muddling of themes the outrangeuose scenes that the movie dose present, they come off less like an exploration of themes and more like they got together and was like "Omg wouldn't it be crazy if x did that" 4/10 (also highly recomomed Yhara Zayd video on the movie, )

Tick Tick Boom(2021) Dir. Lin-Manuel Miranda

I rewatched this moive with friend and i still pretty good. Alot of the songs are really good especially the last, I think it the best one in the soundtrack. Not much else to say 7/10

Pokemon Concierge (2023)

This show was so cute. It was just something light that i would put on while eating breckfast before work. I mainly watch it for the anmation as I it by the same people who did the Rilakkuma and Kuora, which is another light sweet show I enjoyed! Over all, it very short sweet and cute! (6/10)

Better Call Saul (2015) S1

I really like breaking bad and as well as El Comino as think both are so good are exploreing the idea of manhood. But dispit me love both of those i've always put off watching better call saul, mostly because back when the frist season came out I hear it was only ok. After watching it I did think I was very intriguing but also kinda slow, which I kinda get why, it seem that there setting up alot for the later season, but I still found a bit of slog to get thought in comparsion to breaking bad. But i also really am interested in the ideas of justitce and the law which they seems to be setting up. Thought with the last episode of the seson I kinda just thought it was ok, like oh that it? I am looking forward to watching the other season but I am no real rush to watch it (7/10)

I Don't Which Is Love by Tamamushi Oku

I'm trying to read more manga, and i saw people talk about this on tik tok and thought it was very cute and it was......ok? It was kinda cute?? I thought I would like it since it yuri but i think the harme part of it ruin it and relised i hate harme no matter what gender, which is more of me not liking a trope rather then there being actul anthing wrong with the manga. Over all it was fine, very cute art, i dont think it's for me (2/5)

The Bunker Diary by Kevin Brooks

Omg this fucking book. It been on my tbr for years and I read it in two session and thought it was very good dispit being a book aimed at like 14 year old and I say If i was 14 I would be traumatised by reading this. I like how dark the story was and how it wasn't afraid to hold back from any subject which I general do like in media aimed towards children and teens. I would recommend it if you want to read something easy while still being interesting (4/5)

Where is the real me

Summary: Ever since quirks became the new normal the US decided to try to recreate some powers from the movies such as Marvel and DC. I happen to be one of those people that they recreated powers on. I was the lucky or unlucky one depending on how you look at it that got scarlet witch powers. I've was recently got accepted into UA college.

A/n: This is an aged up fic. The UA students will be college age. Since I decided to make this story a love triangle between the reader, bakugou and Dabi and since bakugou and the reader would be a early age teen in the original story I didn't want the FBI to be breaking down my door so aging them up was the way to go.

We were also given comms for our ears. I followed the boys as we walked through the building to find the dummy bomb. “So what’s so special about an extra like you go get into UA?” Bakugou asked. I didn’t answer him which seemed to piss him off. “Hey I’m asking you a question extra.” Bakugou said. “My name is not extra. When you ask me nicely I will tell you.” I said. “Whatever I don’t care.” Bakugou said. I rolled my eyes as the three of us walked into the room that the dummy bomb was in.

“Even though this is training it pains me to be aligned with criminal behavior. So this is the weapon we must protect. Fake of course.” Tenya said. Of course it’s fake not like they would trust us with a real one. “Hey!” Bakugou said. This cause both Tenya and I to look over to him. “Do you really think Deku has a quirk?” Bakugou asked. “You saw how he threw that ball. Though I think his power hurts his body. Why is it that you seem to be especially angry when it comes to Midoriya?” Tenya said. I could feel that he was very angry and thought that Midoriya lied to him about having a quirk. “I don’t think that he lied to you.” I said. “How in the hell do you know what I was thinking!” Bakugou said as he turned to look at me. “One of my quirks is telepathy.” I said. “One of your quirks? How did an extra like you get multiple quirks?” Bakugou asked. “My name is not extra.” I said trying not to lose my temper. “How did you get multiple quirks Y/n?” Tenya asked. “I was experiment on when I was little.” I said. “Sure you were.” Bakugou said. “I really don’t care if you believe me or not. At least I’m not caught up in the past.” I said. “All right! Let’s begin the indoor combat training! Team A and Team D your time starts now!” All might yelled through the loud speakers.

“So what’s the plan you two?” I asked. “You two can handle guarding this thing.” Bakugou said as he started to walk out of the room. I motioned my hand and the door slammed shut. “What in the hell.” Bakugou said as he jumped back. “You are on this team with Tenya and I. So you should help and not try to use this as a reason you get even with Midoriya.” I said. Bakugou rolled his eyes and tried to open the door again but I slammed it back shut. “Will you stop that!” Bakugou said. “If Bakugou wants to go just let him Y/n.” Tenya said. “Fine.” I said letting Bakugou leave the room. It was a few minutes later an explosion could be hear and the building shook. “What in the hell was that?” I asked. “It was Bakugou.” Tenya said. “Do you trust me?” I asked. “I’m sorry?” Tenya asked. “Do you trust me?” I asked again. “Yes I trust you. Why would you ask me something like this?” Tenya asked. “Are you okay with guarding the weapon by yourself?” I asked. “What are you going to do?” Tenya asked. “I’m going to stop Bakugou from destroying the building.” I said. “You think you can stop him? I mean no offense by this but he seems a lot stronger that you.” Tenya said. “Yeah I do think I can stop him.” I said. “Alright please be safe.” Tenya said. I nodded and walked out of the room.

As I rush through the building to try to find Bakugou I could hear more explosions but these were small and sounded closer. So I knew I was close to finding him. I found him with Midoriya standing a few feet away facing him. Half of Midoriya’s masked was missing probably burned off from Bakugou earlier attack. “You’re shaking in your boots you’re so scared. But you wanna fight me anyway. That’s why I hate you!” Bakugou said. “Bakugo! Come in! Give me a status report. Where are you?” Tenya asked through the comms. “Just shut up and defend the weapon. I got more important things to worry about.” Bakugou said back. “Are you forgetting what our mission is? Hello? He hung up on me! This isn’t the time for radio silence. We’re supposed to be a team. Argh!” Tenya said. “Calm down Tenya I have my eyes on him.” I said. “At least your being helpful.” Tenya said. “Ah! Uraraka! Go!” Midoriya yelled. I could hear Ochako running away as I made a shield to protect me. “Ballsy move. Think you can take me alone?” Bakugou said. I looked to see that Midoriya was about to use the capture tape on Bakugou so I used my powers to started to control Midoriya movements and also pulled Bakugou closer to me. Both boys were very confused about what just happened. “What in the hell was that?” Bakugou asked as he got up from the ground. “A simple thank would be nice.” I said as I walked over to him. “I don’t need your help.” Bakugou said. At the same time Midoriya started to run off. “Get back here Deku!” Bakugou said as he chased after him. I let out a groan as I used my powers to start to levitate off the going after Bakugou. I landed in front of him. He had both a look of shock and anger. He grabbed me by the neck and shoved me against the wall. “How in hell did you get in front of me so fast?” Bakugou asked as he put an arm against my throat. “I already told you.” I said as I tried to get his arm off my throat. “And I told you that your story was bullshit.” Bakugou said as he put more pressure on my throat. I slammed my hand on his chest which sent him flying back against the wall. I started to cough as put my hands against my throat. Again Bakugou looked at me in shock as I ran off and away from Bakugou.

I keep running until I bumped into someone which sent me to the ground. “Oh sorry Y/n.” Midoriya said as he helped me up from the ground. “Thanks.” I said. “Woah what happened to your throat. Did Kacchan do that to you?” Midoriya said. “I’m fine don’t worry about it. I might have flung him against a wall.” I said. “How did you do that?” Midoriya asked. “I’ll explain later.” I said. “Dammit! You were tricking me for years by acting weak. Bet you’ve been laughing behind my back huh? So where’s that flashy power of yours now?” Bakugou yelled. “Go.” I said pushing Midoriya. “What?” Midoriya asked confused. “I said go.” I said raising my arms as red energy came out from my hand lifting Midoriya up from the ground and I flung him away. I started to run again and as I did I could hear more explosions.

Meanwhile in the viewing room

“That guy has some real anger issues. Kinda scary.” Denki Kaminari said. “What about that girl she seems to be handling him fine on her own but it’s weird since their on the same team. She seems just as strong as he is maybe stronger. I can see why UA accepted her.” Eijiro Kirishima said. “She seems to have more than one quirk but they do seem to be controlled by that red energy.” Shoto Todoroki pointed out. “That’s because when she was little she was experimented on. She told me and Ochako before we started.” Tsu said. “That poor thing.” Mina Ashido said. “Her quirks seem so familiar I swear I’ve seen it somewhere before.” Denki said. “Yeah you’re right I’ve seen it somewhere too but it’s just not coming to me.” Kirishima said. “She told us that they recreated the powers from the movies but she didn’t tell us who.” Tsu said.

Back to Y/n POV

I somehow ended up catching back up with Midoriya. “Sorry about flinging you away.” I said trying to catch my breath as I stood next to him. “It’s alright I get why you had to do it. Your quirk seems to be really strong. You might have a stronger quirk than Kacchan.” Midoriya said as he was trying to catch his breath too. “Quirks actually.” I said. “You have more than one?” Midoriya asked. “That’s what happens when you get experimented on when you were little.” I said. “What?” Midoriya asked. “Yeah I was experimented on when I was a kid. They wanted to recreate powers like in the super hero movies stuff like that. I was born quirkless so instead of having a quirkless kid my parent let me get experimented on.” I said. “That’s terrible.” Midoriya said. “Well it took a few years but they realized what they did was wrong.” I said. “Who did they recreate with you? Wait no. I’m sorry I shouldn’t have asked that.” Midoriya said which cause me to laugh a little. “It’s okay Midoriya I don’t mind that you ask me that. Scarlet Witch from the Marvel moives. I never really got much training to help control it. I got some but most of the training I got was from watching the movies and just copied what she did.” I said. “Well you seem to handle Kacchan enough and he being fighting most of his life.” Midoriya said. “Well he seems like a bully to me.” I said. “Well that too.” Midoriya said. I laughed a little.

“Stop hiding! Come out and face me you coward!” Bakugou yelled. “Maybe I should go find and calm him down.” I said. “I don’t think that would be a good idea. He might hurt you.” Midoriya said. “I wouldn’t get to close to him just close enough. Besides like you said I might be stronger than him.” I said. “But you said it yourself you barely have any training.” Midoriya said. “I’ll manage if we don’t do anything to calm him down he might try to bring this whole building down.” I said. “All might wouldn’t let him do that.” Midoriya said. “Someone will have to hold him off until All might could get here.” I said. Then Midoriya started to talk to Ochako through the comms.

I wasn’t paying attention to what they were saying since I started to use telepathy so I could hear when Bakugou was getting near us and he was. “Go.” I said. “What?” Midoriya asked. “Go get out of here he’s getting closer.” I said. Then I hear a bell like sound. Both Midoriya and I looked behind us to see Bakugou standing behind us. “I’m all loaded up.” Bakugou said as he raised his fist. “What does that mean?” Midoriya asked. “Why aren’t you using your fancy quirk? Don’t tell me you’re underestimating me Deku. Get over here and show me what you’re really made of. Then it’s me and you girl.” Bakugou said. “If you think I’m scared of you then you’re mistaken.” I said. “Kacchan. I’m not scared of you anymore.” Midoriya said. “Since you’re such a stalker by now you probably know how my quirks explosion works. I secrete nitroglycerin like sweat from my hands and make it blow up. Imagine what I could do if I had a lot of it. That’s right the gauntlets aren’t just for show. They’ve been storing up my sweat inside for one monster blast.” Bakugou said as he opened a small compartment from the gauntlets on his hands. It was too small to tell from where Midoriya and I were standing but if I had to guess I would say it probably was a pin since the gauntlets looked just like grenades. “Young Bakugou! Don’t do it! “You’ll kill them!” All might yelled through the loud speakers. “They’ll be fine as long as they dodges!” Bakugou yelled pulling the pin back. I quickly stood in front of Midoriya as I created a shield while as tried to keep the explosion and the damage contained. But I could still feel the strong winds start to push Midoriya and I back. I had some managed to stop the explosion but the strong wind sent Midoriya and I flying back into the room down the hall.

I hit the ground hard enough that the wind was taken out of me. “Come in! Come in Midoriya! Come in Y/n!” All might yelled. I let out a groan as I sat up. “Damn that really hurt.” I said. “Is that even allowed?” Midoriya asked. There was still a lot of smoke but other than that I really didn’t see any damage. They watched as Y/n got up from the ground saying something to Bakugou but they couldn’t hear exactly what. Bakugou had yelled something back. I’m here to prove that Andrew Garfield’s portrayal of Spider-man/peter parker in The Amazing Spider-Man is objectively the best love action adaptation of the character. In this essay I will....(yes this is really happening)

Edit: 10/20/20- i want to indulge myself in spiderman content but finding non mcu spiderman content is exhausting so imma update this instead

TL;DR

Andrew Garfield is my favorite of the 3 Spider-Man actors. TAS’s Peter is more fun and dynamic than the cookie cutter “shy introverted nerd that has a crush on a girl who’s way out of his league” Peter in Tobey Maguire’s movies. I enjoy Tom Holland’s portrayal of the character, but hate the way Disney has written the movies. I enjoy the characters, plot, and humor of The Amazing Spider-Man far more than the other 2, and i deeply wish we had gotten the third movie with the canon BIder-Man of Andrew’s (and my) dreams.

Characterization

Most arguments against Andrew Garfield’s Spidey( AG’s from now on) begin and ends with “he was a good Spider-Man but a bad Peter Parker”. This references an outdated post comparing all three Spidey actors.(Id attach the image here but i dont want the post to be too long(thats a lie this is so long what am i doing with my life)) The post also claims that Tobey played a good Peter and a poor Spidey; and that Tom is good at both “roles”.(Honestly I think it seems silly that this seems obey the “third time’s the charm” rule but thats just me). Most people using this seem to be Tobey stans who have forgotten or ignored the rest of the post funnily enough, but the ones that go further into the WHY AG is a poor Peter are also incorrect. This argument also ignores the idea that there can be more than one version of Peter Parker which is blatantly incorrect. Just look at Into the Spiderverse or the PS4 game; these provide 4(5 if you count the pig) versions of Peter themselves, and that doesnt even include the comics.

Arguments that go further in depth claim that the AS Peter is too cool or well liked by his peer to be a “true” Peter Parker. The evidence for this seems to be that Peter has a skateboard.(which what? didnt realize that having a skateboard would instantly make you cool brb guys). Adding to that i dont really see where people get the idea that Peter is popular or well liked. While looking for complaints i found this qutoe from reddit(theyve since deleted it looks like but i’ll add a link in the notes) “He's angsty, pretty socially awkward, has an aptitude for science, and is kind of an outsider. He gets bullied by Flash and he gets his ass kicked after trying to stand up to Flash. He isn't a "cool" person in any way (until the ending, in which he's best buds with Flash, so I'll give you that). While Maguire is more accurate to the 60s comics where Peter in high school is just a fucking loser with basically no friends, in the ultimate comics, Peter is more of the kid who has a small amount of friends, but isn't popular.”. Honesty i fully agree with this because once again, other versions of a character are allowed to exist. You can dislike one version, but its silly to dislike something for not being exactly like another thing.

Ive also heard that Peter isnt “nerdy enough” in this movie which really doesnt make any sense considering the entire plot happens because Peter was looking into some of his parents’ research. If he wasn't interested in looking further into his father’s work what reason would he have to go to Oscorp where he’s bitten by the spider? Why would he have become Dr. Conner’s assistant? If he wasn’t intelligent how did he develop the web shooters?(something that Tobey!Peter doesn't have to do out of plot convenience might i add).

Another complaint i see is that the quips he uses in the movie(the first one specifically it seems) makes him seem like an asshole. Honestly thats a fair complaint, but i think its a good bit of characterization; espcially if he does get better about it in the second movie like the internet suggests.The Peter in this movie is a rightfully angsty teen; of course he acts a bit of an ass to criminals(also i feel like its important to mention that he’s like that to criminals? its not like hes being a dick for no reason).

Compare this with the Tobey Maguire(TM) movies. Like i said i haven’t seen these in awhile but as far as i’m aware TM’s Peter doesn't really do anything particularly nerdy in the film? I may have forgotten something( ok in the scene before he gets bitten he knows a cool spider fact) but he doesn’t have to invent the web-shooters because they came with his powers and he’s only at Oscorp in the first place because it’s a school field trip that he appears to be taking photos for. This Peter does fit the definition of outcast(friendless and bullied for it), but honestly i just dont like him. He’s weird and something about the character makes me feel like i should be a little grossed out every time he looks at MJ at the beginning of the movie.

I honestly don’t have any complaints for Tom Holland’s(TH’s)Spidey. Tom is a great actor and from what ive seen i enjoy his portrayal of the character.( He made me cry when i character i actively dislike died).

Story

I cant really say much for TAS story. It’s interesting but nothing special really. However, there is one scene that i don’t think i’ve seen anything like since( the closest would probably be the train scene in the original trilogy).

The crane scene. Early in the film Peter saves a boy from a car that has fallen off of a bridge, and at the end of the movie this becomes relevant again when it is uncertain that Peter will be able to get to the lizard to stop him in time.(as Peter is already injured and pretty far from the lizard’s location). The boy’s father is then revealed to be a construction worker who recognizes that Spider-man is going to need help to get to the lizard; he remembers how Spider-Man saved his son and organizes the rest of the construction workers to build a path out of crane arms for SM to swing from. All of them are putting themselves in danger by not evacuating, but SM’s actions in the first act of the film motivate them to do what’s right.

I love this scene primarily because it highlights something that i think is a really important part of Spider-Man’s character; his connection to the people he saves. SM is often shown interacting with and chatting with the people he has saved after the fact. One comic shows Peter accidentally scaring some bullies and then taking the time to ride the bus to school with them to continue their conversation and educate the students on bullying.( There’s definitely more but this is off the top of my head).

Another scene in TAS that i love is shortly before the crane scene when Peter is originally attempting to make his way across the city to stop the lizard, and he is shot down by the police. They manage to unmask him before Peter comes to his senses( he had just been shot and fallen pretty far out of the sky in his defense). From there Peter is able to deal with the police while keeping any of them from getting a good look at his face. The one cop he cant take out happens to be Gwen Stacey’s father who had previously had an argument with Peter about Spider-Man(Peter obviously on SM’s side and Mr. Stacey against SM). Peter turns and allows Captain(?) Stacey to see his face. I believe that this is an example of an unwilling identity reveal done right. i really enjoyed this moment because Peter had just shown that he likely could have gotten out of this encounter with his identity in tact as he had just taken down however many men. This implies that it was an active choice on Peter’s end to trust that Captain Stacey would ultimately do the right thing and allow Peter to go fight the Lizard, rather than a final desperate attempt to get away unscathed. Whether or not this interpretation of the scene is correct or not it still gives the character a bit more agency than some versions have done with their identity reveals.

In Spider-Man 2 Peter starts to lose his powers because he’s having internal conflict about wether or not he should be Spider-Man. Honestly thats kinda neat and i might want to give that a rewatch. As for the one i have seen i don’t have any complaints. I do however prefer the way that Peter was bitten in TAS because it was a result of him poking around where he shouldn’t’ve been rather than him just happening to be standing in the right place for a spider to land on him.

Onto TH’s movies; the way Disney has treated Spidey in the MCU is why TH’s is my least favorite version of the character. I feel like too much of the story revolves around Iron Man; Iron Man made Peter’s suit and equipment, Iron Man introduces Peter to the MCU(via blackmail but thats another rant for another annoyingly long post), its Iron Man that “makes” Spidey in this universe rather than Spidey being self-made. In Homecoming(which remember i havent seen outside of clips so bear with me) most of the conflict is cause directly or indirectly by Tony’s refusal or inabilty to communicate with the teenager he’s meant to be mentoring

For one the entire incident with the ferry could have very easily been avoided had Tony bothered to communicate with Peter enough to tell him that the situation was being taken care of. On top of that at the moive’s climax Peter is shown trying to get in contact with Happy(from what ive picked up isnt he a chauffeur? like idk his deal i just know he’s someone Peter got pawned off onto after Civil War). Peter even goes as far as to somehow hack into Happy’s phone(i think thats what happened it was a weird tech thing that shouldve been a red flag that the call was important though) but instead of listening; Peter is ignored. If this was a different kind of movie Peter literally could have died and itd be the fault of Happy and Tony like..... A large portion of conflict comes from characters being incompetent and not communicating and thats just poor storytelling.

Before this turns too much into an anti mcu rant id also like to say that the way they did Civil War was really dumb considering that Peter defects to Cap’s side in the comics, but whatever.

Also i loathe the way they handled the identity reveal at the end of Far From Home. With MCU movies most people know to expect an end credits scene by now, but typically that scene is not important to understand what’s happening in the films; they just aren’t important. Putting an identity reveal here makes it seem significantly less important than it is. On top of that i dislike their use of J Jonah Jameson for this scene.

JJJ is a character who has been repeatedly shown to have a genuinely good heart. All of his anger comes from a place of love for his city(he even says this hemself in the ps4 game when May writes in to tell him that he needs help). He hates Spider-Man because SM reminds him of the masked man who killed his wife; JJJ has never been able to get past that( and Peter’s antagonism of him definitely doesnt help) However, JJJ has been shown to care for people; he has a son who he often brags about, and one comic shows that JJJ is paying Peter for “amateur” quality photos because he knows that Peter is having a hard time and “just need some help”. JJJ has even learned Peter’s identity before and kept his secret for him(seriously though i cant remember the name of the comic but its defiantly worth the read), and in the original trilogy when Goblin threatens JJJ he claims that he doesn’t know who sends in the photos of Spidey because he does it via email( this is a lie). The MCU will have a very difficult time convincing me that JJJ would ever out a teenager’s identity and put him in danger like that. It goes too far against his character.(this could be hypocritical of me to say considering how i just insisted that multiple versions of a character can exist but whatever ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

This is accidentally turning into an MCU rant but id also like to say that i hate the lack of a TH!Spidey origin movie because it gives you no motivaion for Peter becoming SM or explanation of his powers; most people will know these things but if youre unfamiliar with the character its bound to be confusing(and im a sucker for origin movies)

(sorry for taking so long with this too ;w;) Including spinoffs, manga, and anime (not dramaCDs cause I haven’t listened to all of them tho I should note I do like the P3P one, both male and female side, nor novels cause....they haven’t been translated....tho that’d really only apply to P1MC’s novel form aka “Jihei”). I also don’t know where to put Anime!Ren, probably after P1MC if “Ren is kind of just their” fan’s testament is anything to go by.

Under the cut for explanation

I should note main games (P1-5), I like all MCs except for P5MC. And Hamuko includes P3P and PQ2 tbh. Btw I think Maya and Tatsuya are equally great, at that point it’s just preference I like playing as Maya more, but I still love Tatsuya.

For the first quadrant (P2 I’ll just say Maya/Tatsuya are both well written with clear character as both silent MCs and side characters, but their MC form allows a bit of choice....not a whole lot cause they are pretty solidified characters, but their characters are great regardless): The reason I like Hamuko and P4MC is....because....they have a lot of personality and a lot of choice. Like....you can really form them any which way you want, make them consistent or contradictory, a good person or an asshole. Each dialogue voice is clear, they are also the two MCs that can effect their story the most (at least with their SLs). It’s a joy playing as them. As for Souji, I just really like the manga a lot, like he starts off pretty there but slowly he opens up and we see his past and he uses it to relate to people around him (and what little establishing perspective in the early chapters show something similar to an Adachi mindset and it’s just really nice to see that his character really DOES show how Adachi’s life could’ve turned out if he had a support system, it really does a good job just.....establishing just that parallel). Is the P4 manga perfect? Nah, nothing is, but I think it’s the better of the two Sogabe works.

For the 2nd quadrant (already talked about P2 above): Naoya? Great, really good character, really gave him a lot of personality! P1 manga feels like it lacks in developing/completing arcs outside of Naoya and Maki, but Naoya and Maki? Great! Makoto Yuki? I really liked his character, while the movies can be a bit shaky in the middle (and I wish he was still a little more stoic in the 2nd one), I really like how he went from emotionless asshole to actually caring about his friends and his own well being!

3rd Quadrant: Spinoff Yu and Makoto, I think they are pretty solid, not super amazing (might put Makoto above Yu tbh but ehhhh I’m pretty even), but they are consistent. And when I mean spinoffs I mean where they talk not their silent forms in PQ1 (cause man they have two gears, nice and asshole....but then again PQ1 everyone is kind of an asshole for some reason 8U at least it’s consistent). Yu’s a bit of an airhead, but he feels like a capable leader and tbh feels very similar to Souji (not 100% Souji, but much closer to Souji than Anime!Yu is to Game!Yu, plus tbh Souji has some silly moments too so I can’t say he got it only from Anime!Yu).

4th Quadrant: So like I like Minato’s name more, but his manga is a bit all over the place. His personality is....hmmmm kinda just their? I mean I still believe him to be a capable leader, but he feels more just their (possibly commentary that...like....plot’s happening all around the P3MC off screen? which I’ll give some points for). That being said he does have some funny moments, and I do get a sense of “not really caring to caring about friends and his surroundings” journey from him (it’s not as apparent or drastic or interesting as Makoto Yuki but it’s there). As for Akira.....at least for the first two dungeons, I actually really like him? Like it took a bit to look past the.....expression....struggle art (it’s not great with facial expressions ok? I dunno what to call it), but after looking past it I saw something. He’s really a 100% just a giant freaking n00b. They all are! And.....I LOVE IT! I hate how P5 it feels like “oh yeah we’re so freaking cool! look at how freaking cool they are! gawd we just instantly get cool!” And like, P5 manga has it’s cool moments of course, but after the initial summoning it’s like “oh shit they actually are just winging it and they are owning the fact they don’t know what they are doing and aren’t really trying to act like they are hot shit” (cause PT aren’t hot shit but act like they are in every interpretation except for this one, and it’s endearing because of it). I mean I don’t like his name, I prefer Ren’s name, but I prefer Akira’s interpretation the most. As for P3MC, I do like him, and in all honesty I dunno if I should be putting Minato/Akira on the same level, nor P3MC/Minato on the same level. While I value P3MC, he is a bit boring to play as, mostly in part due to his SLs. He does have some funny moments, and I think while he might not be a total jokester, he def is a lot more fluid in interpretation than I feel a lot of people will allow him to be. I think he can be fairly open, maybe not as bombastic as FeMC might take it, or as extroverted as P4MC, but I don’t think he’s 100% grim dark emo boi everyone makes him out to be. But compared to FeMC/P4MC, he doesn’t have as much variety as them, on top of his lines being pretty generic (I mean he has a voice tho, but the dialogue isn’t all that crazy a lot of the times......well unless you went 100% asshole route, but you don’t want to go that route, you will screw yourself if you go that route cause of how his SLs work 8U)

5th Quadrant: Raito does a good job with Ren in both Mementos Missions and his anthology chapter in the first anthology book (tho he wasn’t called Ren or anything in that chapter I don’t think). Raito gives him character, gives us some background regarding his issues with adults (not canon, and mostly in the anthology comic, but it’s something), and tbh it’s just all around better than the game. That being said.....he’s.....I like Raito, and I’m having fun, and I like their art, but I still just don’t.....really care about Raito!Ren.....I’m just not super into him. As for Daybreakers!P5MC, he has a bit of a different personality, a bit more of a “I don’t really care” personality....which I’d probably wouldn’t like considering how I feel about P5MC proper, but his “I don’t care” is more of a “Rip to me, cross that burning bridge when I get to it I guess. XP” than “I’m confessing to you but I’m like super checked out and don’t really look like I care” feel the P5MC game gives me. We don’t really spend a whole lot of time with him sadly, but what we do see is fun (in a similar vein to Mementos’ Missions). Him and his team are.....weird in personality tho, I mean I can’t say I hate it, but it’s not like the game or any other adaptation, and I wish we could see more of it expanded on. It’s just a weird dynamic and personality that I can’t just outright say I dislike cause it’s not really developed enough.....

6th/7th Quadrant: P1MC.....nothing really bad about him tbh, but from what I’ve played and remember from P1.....he is the most true and 100% blank slate MC out there. I think that’s the point of him tho (cause even the ending is “you come up with what happens to him”). And I can’t/don’t hate on it, but it’s not exactly super duper fun to play as him cause he doesn’t have a variety of options like FeMC/P4MC (or even P3/5MC), but he also doesn’t have a super duper defined personality like Maya/Tatsuya. I don’t hate him tho! Just.....eh I’ll stick to the manga or any other adaptation. Golden Anime!Yu.....From what I remember and seen of the anime, he was generally a good guy, uber goofy but nice. That’s....all..... I mean I can’t hate on him too much, his anime doesn’t allow him to do a lot of things cause it’s just a string of OVAs tbh.

8th/9th Quadrant: Sigh......oh.......Geez.....I really hate first anime!Yu....a lot, I mean the anime and Anime!Yu have....their good moments, they have some REALLY GOOD moments.....but they also have some REALLY BAD “this wasn’t in the game, this is totally conflicting with the game what are you doing????” Moments. The biggest is his personality, he’s an asshole. They have him choose a lot of asshole comments but instead of.....being treated as an asshole for saying it, everyone is like “Oh ok :P Lol you da best dude!” and moves on (and this is reflected in how they mishandle A LOT of the what should be serious moments in the anime, and I say should because they were serious in the game, sure characters might’ve been uncomfortable but they didn’t risk the lives of people to make jokes and such). I think he’s an asshole, I do not like him, I really hate this adaptation a lot. As for P5MC? I ranked him lower but tbh they could just be tied for all I care, the issue is I have to spend more time with this jerk than Anime!Yu (and at least Anime!Yu has a freaking voice and has some good moments). But I’ve already gone over my issues with P5MC.

I basically prioritize either freedom of a silent MC, or the quality of their personality if their personality is more solidified (both points are more aimed at the games, specifically silent MCs). And then how I like the character as a character in adaptations (aka if I think they are an asshole, and the context of that universe allows them to get away with it or they’re just really unlikeable.....then yeah I won’t like them....I bring up the extra explanation on this cause I DO like some asshole characters, but that’s usually cause they are 1) acknowledged as an asshole, and 2) there’s some other world building factor at play, maybe everyone in that world is an asshole ala MPGIS/Panty and thus equal and Stocking, or they get their just deserts for being an asshole ala Victoria in Life is Strange, still can’t explain why I’m fascinated with this jerk but I am, but Yu and P5MC don’t fit under those two exceptions and thus I do not like them), there can be other reasons I don’t like a character, it’s a case by case basis tbh. 8U

So there’s my essay, maybe it’ll change when I re-read the mangas or re-watch the animes.

Oh wait...I forgot Shin and Kazumi (PTS and P2 manga MCs)....uhhhh put them with Spinoff!Yu/Makoto, they’re solid from what I remember. Might move them later.

Hogwart mystery I did like 4th grade but I am started from the beginning again because gender dysphoria and… I am Ravenclaw but the old account was Slytherin

I think I watched few harry potter moives.. maybe all of them because my sister watched all…

But also I need to rewatch spiderman movies because at first I thought that only spiderman movie I watch MCU spiderman but now that I think about it I watched them and my memory is terrible :(

Peter Parker having a Tumblr

An: This idea popped into my head and I HAD to write it.

So. . .I gotta believe that the marvelverse has tumblr too

It would be a dark dark world if it didn’t and I refuse to believe it doesn’t have tumblr

I’m 99.9 percent sure Peter would join because of Star Wars

Either that or because Ned was on there. maybe both

Did he start out by not joinnig but looking and slowly get drawn in? Did ned mention it and he took a look at it and joined cause he liked it and wanted to talk to Ned? or did Ned hound him till he finally cracked and joined? …perhaps it was because Liz Allen causally mentioned having a tumblr that one day in that one class and so Peter had to join?

The world will never know.…

But the bottom line is he got sucked into Tumblr.

Obviously he would start with reblogging and posting all things star wars gifs, text posts, fan theories, fanart– maybe even some fics (maybe write some of his own)

But then he’d get sucked into other fandoms too — star trek, HP, Doctor Who! basically everything dorky/geeky/nerdy

Because he’s a nerd, The angel boy

You can’t convince me that this boy doesn’t like and reblog all the cool science facts/posts he sees— and Peter definitely follows a TON of science and tech blogs.

Either that kind of content takes up nearly half his blog or he secretly runs a side blog that is nothing but cool new tech, interesting science posts, funny science stuff, hilarious experiments (gone right and wrong) all capped off with every single science pun/joke out there in true peter parker nerd fashion

You know that especially in that universe there would be a part of tumblr dedicated to the avengers and each of the members– and that Peter would be DEEP in it.

He would like and reblog plenty of Thor content —-fan sketches of what Asgard would look like (cause obviously they wouldn’t know like we do thanks to the moive) and fan theories about Thor, loki, odin, Mjolnir and Asgard.

His blog would be plenty full of Captain America stuff (especially after his return) you know he’s rebloged that post about the physics of cap’s shield every time he sees it of course there would be some Bucky stuff since it’s impossible to mention Steve without talking about his best friend too but not as much as Cap or the other avengers

BUT!!!!

The content Peter liked and rebloged, the most was Tony Stark/Ironman posts

Of course!!!

The man’s his idol–- It would only make sense that most of this blog would be devoted to the billionaire, genius, playboy, philanthropist. (I could even see a case being made of peter having a side blog just for tony/ironman stuff) Peter would definitely cruz the Tony Stark and ironman tags everyday without fail.

1000/10 would fight every single Tony Anti he saw or came @ him for supporting Stark– cause you know even in that universe they’d have Tony anti’s floating around. People that are so bitter they leave hurtful comments on posts or hide behind the anon option and send hate. Unfortunately I could see peter getting some of that hate cause of his adoration for Ironman and tony– Cause of his sensitive, kind soul it would get him down.

But not for long.

Thanks to Ned, Aunt May, and his new superheroing Peter would feel better fast.

Speaking of superheroing and a certain web slinging spider…

Peter wouldn’t have thought much about becoming a hero– I mean for him it would have been natural after he got his powers and he didn’t much think about it social media wise…so he freaked out when the first Spider-Man video showed up on youtube

…and when it showed up on tumblr?

He nearly died.

Peter genuinely didn’t think it would make it all the way there but it did.

The silly boy thought that would be the end of it– but it wasn’t. it was only the start so he shouldn’t have been surprised when the next Spider-Man video appeared on there too, then the first photo captured of him then every video and pic after that.

Soon there was a whole Spider-Man tag. True, it didn’t have much but yeah. . .if Peter died when he saw the first video then when he discovered the Spider-Man tag he almost exploded.

Immediately he began scrolling through that too everyday.

He would love nearly everything and be embarrassed by some things (the pure sweet boy <3) laugh at loud at the silliness or incorrectness of others, and be shocked at how close to the truth some people came without even knowing it.

Still, he hadn’t seen anything yet cause one day tony stark was sitting in his apartment talking with aunt may like it was normal then he was fighting in an air port in Germany against half of the avengers.

Once People saw that fight on the news… saw him along with the other hero’s, heard the reporters talking about him too--- well, the Spider-Man tag blew up.

It was STILL trending when Peter got back to New York and he could hardly believe it.

His mind was only blown even more when he clicked on it and saw the sheer volume of new stuff, and new Spider-Man blogs that had appeared out of nowhere.

It went from maybe three or four new posts if he was lucky to as much content as for the rest of the avengers– Fanart, theories, discussions, and gifs from the videos

Fanfics too.

Which was the best and the worst part the spidey tag to Peter…and a side he generally tried to stay away from. Especially something called smut, whatever that was .

He had no idea but he had a bad feeling about it and didn’t want to find out.

You can bet that once Ned found out Peter told him – or even showed him about all this and some of the good/crazy/funny/cool Spider-Man posts he’d seen (if Ned didn’t already know that is)

Oh, and after he stopped the Vulture and that news spread there was another surge again which Ned would be enthusiastic about and peter would be a little sad over cause of the reason why (it’s not like he wanted the father of the girl he was crushing on forever to turn out to be a secretly villainous alien weapons dealer)

The Cat In The Hat

So recently I was beginning to consider watching a bad Christmas movie just to get in the spirit of the holiday. And as I started to think about what I wanted to watch, I decided I would watch the live action version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. But as I started to watch the movie, I began to realize that the movie wasn’t entirely terrible, and sort of enjoyable in some cases. It was at that moment that I was reminded of an other infamous live action Dr. Suess film, The Cat In The Hat. And I have to say, that this was one of the better movies that I have for this blog, but in no way does that mean that this movie is good. This movie is bad, form the ugly set design and ascetic, to… everything really.

The movie centers around a brother(Conrad} and a sister(Sally) who have stay at home without making a mess in the house. They have to do this because their mother is hosting a party for work, and if the house is a mess, her boss will fire her. And imedietly in the first five minutes I already hate one of the main characters, Conrad. He is such an annoying character who loves to acting like a full and causing as much destruction as he possibly can. And yes, I do realize that that is the whole point of his character, and he is that way so he can grow as a character. But the thing is the movie has no character development(something I will touch on later). Another thing that I find frustrating about Conrad is how the audience is expected to root for him. For example, the main villain of this moive would have to be his mother’s boyfriend, who wants to send him to military school because of what a menace he is. He is also a little rude to Conrad when his mother isn’t looking but this mainly has to do with the fact that Conrad gives him a hard time. And I think the writers noticed the issue between the two characters and how they went about amazes me. Instead of making one of the main characters more relatable, they made the boyfriend an obvious dead beat later in the movie. A movie that doesn’t really even need a movie at all. But do you know what is worse than that little boy? The Cat In The Hat.

He is filled with so many bad jokes, puns, gags, and fourth wall breaks its annoying. Everything that comes out his mouth has to be a joke. And its all so dry. The only people who would find this funny are the same people who enjoy Two Broke Girls. I don’t know maybe its me. My brain has become so numb and can hardly fine anything funny. I mean there were a few joke that were ok, they just didn’t make me laugh. And that’s whats really sad about this movie. That its not funny and there is nothing more to it. Its just not funny. No other way to describe it.

So the movie continues like the book except for the ending. So when the kids first met the Cat, he took out a gadget that told him the kids personalities. Sally was a control freak, and Conrad was a rule breaker.

By the end of the movie, the Cat checked the kids again they were “normal”. The thing is they were exactly the same. There was so much the writers could have done, so many missed opportunities. The movie could have been an enjoyable, satisfying movie experience, instead it was just an empty shell of a movie.

I’m literally struggling to type. I cannot find the words to how describe awful this movie is. It's just bad. Just bad. I know I have to be more descriptive than that but I’m at a loss of words. I don’t know what do anymore. I feel like I need to space these blogs out more than I already have. I need to take a break, at least for my sanity's sake. These movies are rotting my mind I can’t. I just can’t do this anymore. I want to cry. WHY DO I KEEP DOING THIS TO MYSELF. Why tho. Just why tho.
