I would like to formally thank you not only for your amazing takes on SW but also for reminding me without fail every Wednesday that the new Mando episode has dropped
If I have to go through the humiliating but absolutely necessary experience of getting up in the middle of the night to go watch the new Star Wars show like it's 1999 and I'm camping out in front of the theater so I can see the new movie, except it's Disney+ and I'm watching from the comfort of my own bed, I better be providing a service by having amazing Star Wars takes and reminding you that the new Mando episode dropped.

im rewatching the smosh liveshow and i wanted to keep track of my favorite moments so they are below the cut
angela's tippy tappy toes of joy at amanda's new jersey voice
amanda's "LOOK IT UP" for increasingly unrealistic things, and ending it with "are you at peace are you at peace are you at peace hello areyouatpeaceareyouatpeaceareyouatpeace anthony areyouatpeace DON'T GOOGLE ME"
tommy's "only a tragic life could lead to looking like if a motorcycle was gay ... i can say that, i'm a motorcycle" and him saying the meaning of anthony's tattoos was so that he could fuck goth girls. oh and how could i forget describing angela as an "amber alert on rollerblades"
the cool ass music when the guests came on, made by tommy bowe i think? i honestly would listen to the music from the show all on its own
brandon rogers' "let's. eat. anthony!" and then making a very emphatic pitch as to why it would be a great idea
THE HALF-TIME SHOW OF COURSE. i know that they mostly won't post the show on youtube but i really really hope they post the half-time show
also a detail i just noticed is josh playing that escalating carnival "do do do do!" when chanse and keith got iced
dan and phil's extremely explicit video message with dan's repeated references to jerking off onto anthony's sexy calendar
courtney as bikini girl while still wearing doc martins. and there's something about the rhythm of "get you a girl who can do both two things two one time! :D" that is so funny, as well as "women are so scawwy ooohh!! what's under your blouse, two perfectly round GUNS? OHH!!"
rhett and link showing up standing menacingly in the doorway, and their tag line being "A Jesus and a Lesbian Woman"
the multiple "ian loves drinking breast milk" jokes
the chosen: "you're probably wondering why i look so badass right now. its because we are on the cusp of the greatest battle in the entire history of the universe.
and also i got queso on my three wolf moon shirt.
and i fell off my razor scooter on the way here."
i am glad that even though they made him look cool as fuck, shayne still emphasized that the chosen is not nearly as cool as he thinks he is.
"worst of all, anthony padilla HAD SEX!" and then quoting the star wars prequels lmao
also shayne singing without any self consciousness was very funny to me, but i can't put my finger on what the song was
ian saying i love you but having to say it in a silly voice (and in the after show anthony saying he can say i love you back to ian because unlike ian, he's actually said it before)
anthony's joke about how he expected everyone to roast him about his "dick piercing" and the entire audience going "wait wait, go back to that, what did you just say" and him moving on with no further comment
anthony to shayne: "i won't talk about how you were once known for your promising tv career and now you're known for wearing a t-shirt with limes on it''
chanse just full on horror movie screaming when anthony said arasha was in an ad for a republican dating app. also arasha's faces for everything were so great
keith full on responding whenever someone addresses him (and sometimes reacts out loud just because), he did this in the other funerals as well but it delights me every time
anthony saying chanse slides into his dms all the time, and chanse immediately replying "you respond, bitch!" (and then later anthony saying that chanse can go with mythical and he "can call link daddy now" but "watch out, [chanse] dms")
i loved anthony's reference to tommy's show serving cunt
anthony to amanda: "you're like if jessica rabbit drove a mini van"
anthony to ian: "one thing we all know about ian is he might have some trouble showing emotions" ian proceeds to stare deadpan into the camera. it was fun watching ian's reactions because often he wouldn't react to a lot of it or he would react as part of the bit, i've already forgotten the one thing that he really reacted to, fuck so i might have to rewatch it again
and then my favorite part of the aftershow was amanda and tommy continuously leaning in to make out and then saying "no save it for the parking lot, save it for the parking lot", and no they were not going to go anywhere, they were going to stay in the parking lot at smosh and make out in the car

Harry had been skeptical from the beginning.
Really, he wasn’t one for horror movies, not one for jump scares. When he was younger, he read the original IT book and had to leave the book outside to sleep soundly- as if the creeper clown could actually escape through the inked pages of the book. It was safe to say he wasn’t much of a horror fan at all.
It made perfect sense that he was at a haunted maze with Y/N.
“I will probably piss myself.” He said as he kept close to her, the gloves on his fingers irritating him. The chilly October night was crisp and grinding at his nerves, his adrenaline already pumping as they waited in line. Screams echoed in the night, evil laughs and the rips of chainsaws audible to his ears. There were giggles. Unnerving children’s giggles that sent a chill through his already cold body.
“At least that’s warm.” She teased, squeezing his arm to her torso. “But please refrain from doing that. It’s kinda gross.” Her wrinkled nose was cute, Harry relaxing just a bit as she got up to kiss his cold cheek. If there was anyone he would feel safest with in a situation like this, it would be her. Y/N was the most comfortable person he had. Yes, she may poke fun but she had seriously said they didn’t have to when she noticed that he was actuallly, genuinely nervous. She had insisted they could do something else, but she had seemed so excited when she had bounced into his house with the flyer with bright eyes and talking a mile a minute about how she had finally found one close enough to them that actually seemed exciting. Every one else is the area was apparently poorly done, in her words.
“M’not promising anything. You’re lucky you've got seat protectors in your car.” He grumbled, pulling her into him so he could get a hug. The line was slowly moving, but he was on alert from the traveling actors that made their way up and down the line with menacing glares and choosing people to scare. The man with the large chains was walking down the dirt path, clunking boots making his heart beat a bit faster as he went past. He was spared for now, exhaling into her hair when she walked past.
Y/N held him to her, resting her head on his shoulder. She was totally aware they probably looked like one of those cringe-y couples waiting in line at an amusement park but she liked the affection and being the one he chose to sit with like this. He relaxed a little as her hand ran up and down his spine, breathing in deeper inhales of his scent. His cologne was her favorite, and this was an excuse to be up close and personal with him.
“It’s gonna be okay, H.” She looked up at him with a sweet smile. “Promise. It is. It’s scary, sure, but you’ll get out of there laughing by the end. I’m proud of you for facing your fears, okay? I apppreciate that you came with me.” Leaning up, she guided his head down to steal a kiss from his cold, slightly chapped lips. “I will make it worth your while when we’re home and naked. Okay?”
Suddenly, it did feel okay.
—-
Wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong.
There was no okay. Harry was shaking like a chihuahua, eyes closed as he waddled behind Y/N. His face was hidden in her hair as he inhaled and exhaled sharply, feeling the feet behind them as they exited the maze.
It didn’t help that Y/N was giggling. Not audibly, no, but he could feel the giggles through her back as he clung to her. His steps covered hers, honestly a bit pathetically. Y/N, his sweet little scare loving girlfriend would squeal and giggle at the scares while Harry screamed and shook, hiding his face in her neck and face, only comforted by her hands squeezing his as they were hooked around her body.
They’d started off with his arm around her body, as if he was the protector. That had been the wrong move, obviously. The scare actors had made it a point to go after him. The big strong man was someone to get a reaction from. Like they could smell his fear. He had a lot of it thought, back straight and shoulders tense as her hand had tried to soothe, rubbing his back and warning him that someone was going to jump out if she had any sort of clue.
It had started that way, sure, but at some point it had become a huddle with his body attached to hers. He was set on her and acting like a shell on a turtle, attached to her back and not looking back. It became her job to lead them through the maze, laughing more than anything at his reactions. It wasn’t too terribly scary to her but Harry’s cursing and irritation had made it all the more entertaining.
“Baby, it’s okay.” She cooed as they made their escape. “It’s all done.” Trying to twist in his arms, he made her stop and continued walking them closer towards their parked car.
“No. Nope, I don’t trust these demonic people.” He hissed. “Can’t they tell I did not want to be scared? Did the fuckin’ chainsaw right next to my ear. Thought it was gonna take my ear off!” The dramatics of it all made her laugh a bit harder, but she felt a twinge of guilt for making Harry go through it. Yes, she gave him a few outs but… Harry was Harry. Stubborn little thing.
“My love- it wasn’t a real chainsaw. It’s a prop. Nothing would have happened.” She crooned between laughs, finally managing to unstick his hands from her and turned in his arms, gloved fingers gripping his jaw. He was a bit pale despite the cool flush that made his nose and cheeks pink, a slight panicked and embarrassed look on his face. “Hey… look at me. Pretty boy.”
That had him relaxing slightly, swallowing the lump in his throat as he looked into her comforting eyes. They held a bit of humor and a pinch of concern. The cotton gloves warming his skin as she held his jaw in her grip. “Sorry.” He croaked. “Didn’t want to be pathetic or anything, but s’like…” he shrugged. “It’s embarrassing. Got nervous. Don’t do too well with scary stuff but I thought I could suck it up for a little while.” The long exhale was felt on her face. Her poor man. He had gone through it just to make her happy.
“It isn’t embarrassing , not at all. It’s cute. Endearing, really. You can hold your own in front of lots of people, but I can’t.” She pointed out. “We’ve all got our things. I can handle horror and you can handle extreme social situations if you’ve got to. I’m very proud of you for even trying. We’ve never got to do this again if you’re genuinely terrified. I’m just proud you tried it out.” Y/N held a whole lot of love for the man. Even if they’d both be fucked in a killer movie.
“I’ll sit in the car next time with some hot cocoa or something.” Admitting defeat with Harry was never easy, but he liked that she didn’t make him feel bad about it. Plus, being cute was something he liked. Especially when that praise came from Y/N.
“Precisely, my little scaredy cat. You’ve done your part of the night, we experimented. Now we should get out of the cold and get on home so we can eat.” She roped her arms around his neck. “Annnnnd. I promised it would be worth your while. Let me show you how much I loved how cute you were.”

Hey Alex 👋
What are some movies you’ve really enjoyed in your life?
My cousin actually asked me yesterday what I though the “greatest film of all time” was, and I said I am not qualified to make claims on that level… but movies I enjoy, now THAT’S something I can do!
The Mitchels vs. The Machines - I think this was a Netflix Original, but it’s an animated film produced by Sony, and has so much life and love in it! Just a fun family film about a robot apocalypse with quirky characters and very relatable family struggles, but in the end a very sweet resolution that makes me envious 🥺 10/10
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World - I’m noticing a pattern with these movie titles so far… anyways, while the comics were better overall (and I need to finish them) the Scott Pilgrim movie was pretty great! I highly recommend it to people curious about Scott Pilgrim to get essentially a crash course in Scott Pilgrim, and then read the comics if you want more.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail - While I’m ashamed to say that this is the only Monty Python media I’ve interacted with directly, The Holy Grail is such a great movie and very much my style of humor in a lot of ways XD
I have to give a shout out to the original live-action Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies, especially the second one. I have a lot of great memories of watching these with friends, and every now and then I still rewatch the second one if I want a dose of nostalgia 👌
The Hobbit Trilogy are so so so so so good, for a long time I didn’t realize there were people who disliked them compared to the book? As someone who has read and reread The Hobbit religiously over the years, the movies are pretty damn good! Some parts aren’t quite up to snuff with the book, but some parts I think do a better job of explaining the course of events than in the book (and especially Gandalf’s travels being viewed as part of the film lends itself incredibly well to preceding the Lord of the Rings trilogy). Sure the dwarf/elf romance may have been unnecessary, but it was kinda cute and has some good poetic quotes about it. All in all, some of my favorite movies right here, but especially the first one.
your name. (Kimi no na wa) - I adore Makoto Shinkai films, 5 Centimeters per Second was one of the first anime films I ever watched. your name. is just one of the greatest movies ever made, such a beautiful love story, animated brilliantly, and the funniest part is that Makoto Shinkai considers it INCOMPLETE because he had to rush the ending to meet deadlines… and it’s still a masterpiece! I recommend watching the sub version if you can, because there’s a lot of intricacies involving the Japanese language and things that gets a little lost in localization and dubbing. Honestly might be my favorite movie of all time.
The Spiderverse films by Sony are some of the most spectacular animated movies of the decade, at least! I grew up as a Spider-Man fan, and especially loved the Andrew Garfield movies, and these movies scratch that same itch, while also featuring sooo many variants of Spider-people from different comics and crossovers. Both Into and Across were fantastic, can’t wait for Beyond!
Growing up a big Star Wars nerd, I might be expected to name an original trilogy film, but actually I think Rogue One is my favorite Star Wars film ever! It’s got all the makings of a fantastic sci-fi thriller, set in the Star Wars universe, about a famous line from the original movies: “Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire's ultimate weapon, the DEATH STAR…” (this might also be the only good thing Disney has done for Star Wars movies idk)
To a much lesser extent, The LEGO Movie actually holds up quite well in my mind! Always love revisiting a fun family film like that :3
There we go! Is this more than you asked for? Probably, but you get it anyway! X3 Thanks for the ask~!

Hi I’m honestly in love with your writing and the fact that you write for male readers is just *chefs kiss 🤌* could I please request a Newt x male reader, kinda like your other newt fic except Thomas takes a liking to the reader and it’s Newt that gets jealous, while reader is just oblivious because he hasn’t really talked to the greenie and is too busy doing medjack things.
Please don’t stress to get this finished I’ll wait forever if I have to.
All the love ❤️ - Static
Ooo I'm loving the Newt attention right now, I'm obviously a Minho fan (*cough* the over 25 fics I've written for him *cough*) but Newt is easily one of my favourite characters and I'm honoured to get the opportunity to write him.
JEALOUS BOY
Tumblr media
MASTERLIST | NEWT MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
SUMMARY: See above. Timeline doesn't line up (or exist) but kinda movie based fic. Teresa ceases to exist because I couldn't work out how to make that work- there's enough going on.
WARNINGS: Inappropriate language, miscommunication trope, kind of oblivious reader, Thomas being a dumbass.
Tumblr media
Greenie Day is always fun. It's definitely your favourite day of the month. Apart from having a fresh face to watch the other Gladers tease, you also get to celebrate with the Bonfire night.
And today is no different. You have been blessed with Thomas. He seems slightly unstable and unsure of himself, but he is definitely handling things a lot better than most of he boys do.
He's cute, for sure, but a lot of boys here are. That doesn't really matter though, because you've set your heart on Newt.
You don't really know how it happened, but the second in command caught your attention almost immediately. He's one of the more grounded people in the Glade, and he's probably the most reliably.
And Minho drunkenly told you that Newt's gay. So, you might actually have a chance.
Though, you're one of the three Medjacks, so you're normally busy with work. The Glades really isn't a place for romance, and Newt is one of the few people that is actually busier than you.
And Newt probably doesn't even like you.
Honestly, Newt hadn't even really thought about it- until Thomas beats him to it.
"Who's that?" Thomas asks as him and Newt share a glass of Gally's special brew™, sitting in front of a log, using it as a backrest.
"Who's who?" Newt asks after taking a swig of his drink.
"Him," Thomas points at you from across the Glade as you talk to Jeff and Clint, laughing as you recall some of the dumbest injuries the Gladers have had. "Who's he?"
Newt's smile falters slightly. "(Y/N)." He simply answers. "Why you asking?"
Thomas shrugs. "He's kinda attractive."
For some reason, a sharp feeling crosses through Newt's chests. He shuffles uncomfortably before getting up. "C'mon, I'll show you around."
Thomas scrambles to his feet, struggling to keep up with Newt as he effortlessly traverses through the crowd.
Newt pretty much introduces Thomas to everyone except you. And then he ends up in a fight with Gally.
Which is always a fun watch.
You remain oblivious as you continue on with your job in the day following. Normally, after Bonfire, your clientele consists of boys suffering from hangovers and embarrassment.
"Gally, if you're gonna throw up, go outside, there's only so many egg and garlic cures I can make in such a small space of time, yanno." You mumble, stirring the strong smelling solution.
"I'm not gonna throw up." The Builder grumbles as he hunches over the side of the bed.
"You'd think since you make this klunk you'd be able to handle it. Or were you just nursing your pride after being floored by a Greenie?" He glares at you as you pass him the drink.
"This klunk's gross."
"You do this to yourself."
"Hey," you look up as Thomas awkwardly knocks on the doorframe.
"Hey, Greenie, you need somethin'?" You say nonchalantly. Thomas is just another patient to you.
"Uh, just thought I'd come see what this job is about."
"You fancy being a Medjack?"
"Haven't you heard?" Gally scoffs. "Greenie here has his heart set on being a Runner." You raise your eyebrow at Gally. "Newt told me."
That's weird. It's not like Newt is the type to go around talking about everyone's business- to Gally nonetheless.
You scoff. "Well, good luck with that- you'll have to get Minho's approval. He's one hard nut to crack. Maybe aim lower for now."
"Or give up all together." Gally snickers to himself.
"Gally," you snap, "get out- you're just a whiney baby who overendulged- scram, shank."
Gally grumbles under him breath, but he does get up, even though he does nearly topple over in the process.
"You're uh, (Y/N), right?" Thomas asks once Gally is gone.
"Uh, yeah, who told you that?"
"Oh, I asked Newt. He didn't seem too pleased about it, though."
You brush off the comment, turning back to making more headache cures for the undeniable number of boys that'll be flooding into your tent soon.
"Well, you should be checking out some of the other jobs- people don't normally trail to be a Medjack very often. There's only three of us and it's harder to get in this kluck-hole than it is out in the Maze. You could be a Track-hoe or a Builder, or even a Slicer if you don't mind the blood."
"Yeah, but I want to be a Runner," you scoff, shaking your head to try and hide your smirk. Gally might be right about this one.
Thats a first.
"Oi, Greenie," Newt appears in the doorway, "the shuck are you doin'? Get your ass to the Bloodhouse, you're tryin' out as a Slicer today."
Thomas pushes his lips into a thin line, nodding at you. "See you around." You give him an awkward wave and he leaves.
"The Greenie's shuckin' weird." You laugh, but when Newt doesn't respond, you look over at him. He face looks like thunder. "You good, mate?"
'Mate' is something you only say to Newt, mainly because you secretly adore his accent but also to lightly tease him.
"Yeah," he clears his throat, "yeah, so, you think Tommy's a freak?"
"I wouldn't go that far- but I don't think we've ever had a Greenie with such a shuckin' death wish before." Newt remains silent. "You don't like him?"
"No," he sighs, "I do. The shank's got a spark- we need more of that. I just..." He trails off, making eye contact with you. "Doesn't matter. I'll catch you later."
Newt leaves as fast as his arrived, leaving you very confused and slightly lost. That's until Clint stumbles into the Med Hut with Jeff carrying him, clearly still intoxicated.
You'd been wondering where they'd been.
The next couple of days are... strange, to say to say the least. Thomas came in almost every morning to speak to you, which started causing some exchanging of glances between your colleagues.
You, however, paid no mind to it.
Newt, however, did.
"Who does the Greenie think he is?" Newt grumbles to Minho, who is mouthfuls deep in a portion of of Frypan's stew.
"This about your little crush again?" The Runner says after swallowing.
"What? I don't have a crush."
"Dude, you've been complaining about Thomas all week."
"So? I don't have a crush on the shuckin' Greenie."
"Wha- no," Minho snorts, rubbing his face in his hands at his friends own cock-blocking. "You're jealous."
"What?"
"Of Thomas."
"What?"
"You have a thing for (Y/N), and the Greenie likes him too- so you're jealous."
Newt blinks. "What? No, I don't have a shuckin' crush, okay? He's just distracting him from work, a'ight? And Thomas needs to get his ass to work figuring what job he's gonna do. This isn't about (Y/N) at all."
"You're full of klunk," Minho says after sarcastically nodding, waving his fork around.
"Mate-"
"No, you're full of klunk," Minho sighs. "You've been talking to and about this boy since he got here, and suddenly a new guy shows up, who clearly likes your 'bestfriend'," he puts that in air quotes, "and suddenly you're moping around like a shuckin' baby. You're thick as pig klunk if you ain't figured out what's going on by now."
There's a short period of silence as Newt processes everything. Shit, maybe he is jealous. He'd always liked you a little bit more than the other Gladers, but he kind of thought it was just admiration.
But he was jealous when Thomas pointed you out.
It made his skin crawl and his body burn.
"Shit," he mumbles, his elbows resting on the table and his hands in his hair. "I think I do like him."
"There ya go- shuckin' finally." Minho barks a laugh.
"So, what do I do?"
Minho hesitates, before just shrugging. "You don't see me having many romantic prospects around here, do ya? Box hasn't sent my type up yet," he attempts to joke, which just earns a glare from the second in command. He clears his throat. "Look, if your jealousy is getting to you that bad, just claims what's yours."
"Minho," Newt groans, "don't talk about people like that."
"You know what I mean- just ask him out. Tell him how you feel and get you a boy."
"I don't know if-"
"Suck it up, shank- I don't risk my life everyday to come back here and deal with this klunk." Minho stands up. "Alby has you running this joint for a reason- figure your shit out."
And with that, Minho walks away, probably to talk to someone who isn't causing him a headache with romantic issues.
Newt decides to see what happens, play it by ear and stick to his job. After all, he's a busy dude and- oh my God, is Thomas talking to you again?
Newt spots you sitting with Thomas. You look almost bored, probably thinking about some kind of medical solutions instead of listening to whatever nonsense Thomas is spewing.
But for some reason, this sparks a new wave of jealousy in him. Maybe Minho's right- about needing to talk to you, not claiming you.
You're a person, after all.
Standing up, he storms over to you.
"Hey," he taps your shoulder, pulling you out of your trance, "I need to talk to you." He jolts his head in a general direction away from the small group you're in.
"Oh, sure," you scramble up, following Newt as he walks away. You can practically see the steam coming off his head.
You walk a fair few metres away, ending up at the edge of the Deadheads.
"Newt, is everything okay-?"
"I like you!" He snaps, turning around and starting you.
"I like you, okay? I like you and all your dumb medical facts and the way you help Chuck when he's freaking out. I like you, like I have a crush on you and it's freaking me the shuck out! A-and watching you flirt with the Greenie is driving me nuts!"
"I wasn't flirting with-"
"I just- Minho told me to tell you and that's what I'm going. Make of it what you will but-"
There's something about the normally calm Newt losing his cool over you that is weirdly attractive. Not only is your long-time crush confessing to you, but he's actually possessive over it. Should that be attractive? Probably not, but it still is to you.
Newt is mid-speech when you step forward, grabbing his face with both your hands and pulling him towards you. Your lips connect and Newt completely freezes.
You pull away from the blond as he doesn't react. He looks at you for a second, panic taking over you. You go to speak but no sounds come out as he starts to grin.
Pulling you back in, he kisses you again, this time actually responding properly.
The kiss lasts a couple of seconds before you separate.
"Will you please be my boyfriend, (Y/N)?" He asks you.
You smile. "'Course I shuckin' will."
Tumblr media
Another Newt request: done. I'm slowly getting there, and I have a couple of Gally requests to get through, but dw we'll be back to our regularly scheduled Minho content first.
I hope you enjoyed :))

KEYSSS my dear mutual congratulations on 1K likes aaaah you deserve all of them! May I henceforth ask for a platonic BSD matchup? I go by she/her and I don't have a preference for which gender I want to be matched up with :3
Personality: I personally don't know what my mbti is, so I'll just give a short description of my personality. I find myself to be more of a listener, but with the right type of person (really quiet or someone chaotic) I can talk for hours. People say that I'm nice and smart, but I doubt myself sometimes. I am physically affectionate with my friends, and often flirt with them only if they're not in a relationship. My friends like to banter with me and I like to tease them/make them laugh, but if they like to sit in silence then I'm perfectly fine with that as well. Sometimes I am too sacrificial and am bit too much of a people pleaser, but I am working on setting down boundaries and saying 'no'
Hobbies: I like to read books more than I like gaming and watching videos. I also like to learn new things, no matter how hard they are, because I am quite curious about a lot of matters. I can speak English and Mandarin, and I am partially fluent in French. I also love to play the piano because I find it calming <3
Topics I like to discuss: Honestly I can talk about anything as long as it's not something that I'm uncomfortable with (which I only have a few). I normally like to discuss history, books, travelling, and any funny things that happened recently in life
Things I hate: I don't hate a lot of things because I am a firm believer of the quote that love transcends all animosity, but what I really do hate are people who willingly do bad things and do not feel sorry for it. I normally am quite forgiving, but once somebody crosses that line too many times without genuinely trying to improve, then they've lost their chance
Something that makes me unique: I'm actually more of a classics person than a contemporary person. What that means is that I prefer classic books, classical music, classic movies, and old history etc. I do like watching a modern film every now and then, but I find that nothing captivates me more than the antique things. I'm probably one of the few girls my age who is more caught up with the 1700-1900s than the 2000s ahaha. I also am more of a jewellery girl than a clothing girl, and my favourite jewellery is silver jewellery :)
Preference: I'm okay with being matched by a character that commits crime, but as long as they aren't too crazy about it
What I value in others: I value loyalty, respect, and communication in others, as I believe that those are the three key points of any relationship. Bonus points if I find them fun to hang around with, and that they won't twist my morals and lead me down a darker path
Something I can't stand in others: Honestly anything that makes a toxic relationship; dishonesty, disrespect, and not listening to what I have to say
Remember to take your time my dear, and once again congratulations on 1K likes! Let's get that to 1K followers >:D
SILVER I'M SO SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG!! I was almost done with it and then it was literally all lost, but I still got it done. thank you so much, darling, and I hope you don't mind the wait.
I match you up with Tetcho! he's a silly little man, please take care of him.
He loves listening to you. There is nothing he would rather do than listen to you talk about the things that you are interested in, and he is not affected by what other people have to say about your interests. He would be ticked off at anyone that judged someone for their preferences in media and entertainment. He would not force you to try his food, but if you do like any of the combinations he would be glowing with happiness for the rest of the week. He is always a little sunshine, though, and is nothing but supportive. He loves what makes you strange, and he loves that you love what makes him unique, too. He would not let harm befall you. He would rather be stabbed a thousand times than for you to get a paper cut, and would be even more devoted to justice after meeting you because he would want to make sure that no filthy criminals can hurt you. He would not let Jouno make fun of you or your friendship. He would probably stab his ass again, and would start doing it more if you found it funny. Either way, Jouno will eventually make peace with you. He would love to listen to you play the piano, and might even pick it up himself if he has the time. He could also learn another instrument solely so he could teach it to you. He would be a non-judgemental teacher but he would definitely be a little strict. Secretly, he is a little scared that he is too overbearing when teaching you things. Overall, he would value similar things to you in a relationship. He is an honest man who communicates well, if not sometimes too bluntly, but he would do his best to always respect you. If someone else is to disrespect you, however, all hell breaks loose. Jouno and the Huntings Dogs will obviously get lighter punishments, though, and I don't expect them to cross any lines. He would, without a doubt, try to keep you as far away from his occupation as possible. Your safety is his priority, and he could not live with himself knowing that he was the reason why you were targeted by a criminal group. He gets anxious about how you are doing, so he will send a variety of texts about how you are doing throughout the day. It's a little heartwarming knowing that you're always on his mind. Because of his constant worrying about your safety, he absolutely loves to hold you in his arms so he knows that nobody can hurt you. Sometimes, though, he just wants you to hold him instead because he is always dealing with things for other people and he just wants someone to do the same for him.
that's all for today, I hoped you liked it darling! <33 have a wonderful day or night :)

The Gentlemen - season 1 (2024) review
Tumblr media
Alright, alright, alright….. wait, McConaughey is not in this one? Oh, well that’s not alright, alright, alright…
Plot: When aristocratic Eddie inherits the family estate, he discovers that it's home to an enormous weed empire, and its proprietors aren't going anywhere.
Guy Ritchie is honestly great. Since way back when he made Lock, Stock and Snatch, he’s consistently churned out top quality entertainment, except maybe the Aladdin remake. I mean I totally get he probably got a superb pay check out of it, but honestly what in the heavens did Guy Ritchie have to do with blue genies I will never know. Regardless, where the man really excels at is when it comes to the British gangster genre. The guy can make swearing sound so poetic and melodic - it’s honestly mad how something so otherwise rude can come off utterly beautiful and delightful like a song. Especially in his 2019 film The Gentlemen, the writing in that movie was so good!! Naturally Netflix caught onto this too as we now how a spin-off series.
Going into the show I was looking forward to it but also cautious, as I was aware this new show was missing the star power of the original film. I mean can you blame me? The movie had the likes of Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Colin Farrell and Hugh Grant to name a few. That’s a solid load of A-listers huddled together. As for the show, the names like Theo James or Kaya Scodelario didn’t instil heavy excitement, especially with James as honestly, I always thought he was a bit of a prick. Granted this may be due to when he played the dickhead in The Inbetweeners movie, and gosh do I feel old with that reference, but he just has that face of a guy that’s so full up his own arse. Again, I’ve never met the chap, he’s probably a lovely human being, but I’ve made this prejudgment in my head and as such when I found out he was the lead of this series I naturally rolled my eyes. That being said I give Netflix props as they hired the original film director Guy Ritchie to create this spin-off and even direct some of the episodes and do a lot of the writing, so of course I was going to check this show out.
Never doubt the Guy should be a new cinematic rule. I’m proud to report that the new The Gentlemen series is a fantastic watch. It’s not the most original show, yet it plays out more-so like a Guy Ritchie’s greatest hits, as it’s got his visual flare and style, with the super cool and smooth fashion choices - honestly Scodelario has a wardrobe change every other scene and each time it felt like she was walking out of a Tom Ford fashion exhibit, and then also all the men wearing their gentlemanly suits dripping with swagger and smoking their cigars and drinking their whiskeys - the whole thing is simply infused with that signature upper-class British gangster feel. Ritchie’s signature syllable-heavy dialogue that just rolls of the tongue is also more than ever present here, and whoever decided to cast Giancarlo Esposito in this show deserves a pay rise, as Esposito’s soft-spoken melodic tone proclaiming the colourful lines of Ritchie’s rich exposition was music to the ears.
The cast here too are super game. Theo James was actually solid as the lead young duke, as he had that manly prowess and was very believable as someone who gets shit done. Kaya Scodelario I thought at first was trying too hard to mimic Michelle Dockery from the original movie, but eventually she made the role her own, and she gave enough mystery to her performance to make us feel uncertain of her true motivations. Daniel Ings as the duke loser-cocaine-addicted-brother Freddy was a lot of fun, however I would say his character became a bit overbearing and annoying in the end, as he constantly made so many mistakes throughout that I honestly kind of wanted him to get killed. It’s as if whenever the show needed an excuse for something bad to happen, they’d just get Freddy to fuck up again. Apologies for my language, I don’t usually swear in my reviews, but also this is a Guy Ritchie project we’re talking about, and he uses the F word every other sentence. So fuck it. In regards to other notable cast members, Pearce Quigley as Gospel John, a leader of a religious gang was oddly creepy yet entertaining, especially when he’d randomly scream certain lines for absolutely no reason. Pure psycho. Peter Serafinowicz and Guz Khan have amusing turns. Lastly we have two British gangster alumni Vinnie Jones and Ray Winstone. These two of course were on a different level to everyone else. Of course Vinnie Jones can be quite cheesy when it comes to acting. One can fondly remember his delivery of the line “I’m the Juggernaut, bitch!”. But when it comes to Guy Ritchie, Jones and him have always been a great pairing. Here as the duke estates’ caretaker, Vinnie is super reserved yet again super cool. I think cool is a word that can be used and abused when it comes to this show. It’s all so cool! Then Ray Winstone as the leader of the crime family… I mean it’s Ray Winstone as the leader of the crime family! He got that Godfather-level gravitas, only more Cockney, and it was great watching him do his thing.
When it comes to the story, this show is standalone to the original film. You can definitely see the inspiration though with certain narrative beats and story choices being very reflective/similar to what occurred in the film, and then the hidden weed farm under the estate looked like exactly the same set as from the film. But overall this is completely its own thing, and each episode brings more fun crime shenanigans for the characters to deal and navigate through, and it was consistently entertaining. My only complaint is that I’d say the finale a tad anti-climactic. I think with all the roughness and toughness that the characters go through, the ending tied everything up a bit too conveniently and neatly. I get I’m not to expect the most realistic thing as this is Guy Ritchie’s world, but I did want things to get a bit more messy, especially due to the build up. That being said this is a major win for Netflix, and I’m expecting a season 2 to be green-lit soon, as this is a winning package.
Overall score: 7/10

I think you and 🍰 have mentioned it before, but I’d love to hear your thoughts about the way the musical portrays L. The concept album was my introduction to Death Note as well, but I feel like the L in the songs is a much more dramatic take on L? Which, y’know, makes sense, since it’s ✨musical theatre✨ and all. Like, “The Game Begins” is SO fun, but we’d never get a monologue like it from L in the manga or anime. Idk, the musical paints a bit of a different image of L to me. Not a bad one at all, just a different one.
-🎲
holy space cows 🎲 anon okay let's go! again answering this before my other asks because it's more me rambling than an actual story
GOOOOOD musical L when I first watched the musical I wanted to pick him up take him out of the screen and squeeze him like a stress ball. honestly I loved (love?) him maybe even more than anime L dhdhhdh
I'll put a break in here because I think I'm gonna say a lot
like. he did so many things like anime L (I've never read the manga so I see that L as "base" L) but also I feel had his own quirks. like how he hopped onto chairs (Teen Angst L did this too but because it was screen not stage it felt different. I've done stage acting before so maybe it's just me but screen doesn't feel as close, I just loooove stage acting, UGH. This was also why it was more dramatic in some places, you have to act for the whole audience but, I'm assuming you didn't see it live, WAIT have you even watched the recorded version?? It's on YouTube it's sooo good the subtitles are great too, you can sing along to the songs. it's in Japanese tho. Anyway my point was going to be, because you're acting for people really far away, your movements will be big and dramatic and you'll notice this if it's recorded up close).
HIS VOICE WAS SO NICE TOO like damn this is a fine ass man. His songs, I agree looking back at them they aren't all things anime L would say, especially not unprompted. But I don't think that it was so far out of character that it was unbelievable, you know? I actually think that though yes, the Game Begins was dramatic, that was just the song and not the tone of it, if that makes sense. I'd say songs like Playing His Game and (I can't remember the name but the one LawLight duet they sing at the college? not the tennis one. UGH I know the Japanese...) Anyway, I'd say those songs are more ooc. Cause I think L sees all of his cases as a game, his job as a game. Like yes he cares about human life but he also only takes on interesting cases. I've heard this is more like his manga version, which is kinda cool that this "headcanon" of mine is "canon."
AHAHA anyway the point I was actually going to make with that paragraph was: in the final song (a little ooc but in some lines very in character) L holds this one "O" note that makes me go WEAK IN THE KNEES and of course Light is singing over it at the same time, sobs. This is in the Japanese version. I prefer that version overall, but I like some of the English songs too, like Playing His Game and Requiem. So if you haven't listened to it YOU SHOULD!! It's on YouTube music, you can search up english song name + death note musical. A lot of them are by "LyricNear" I think. and you can ofc watch the full musical. but aaaa the final song breaks my heart but I have to listen to that goddamn note... you guys... you don't understand.
Uh, the musical did of course take some creative liberties. There was no Matsuda which I will always bring up because it is a crime, MUSICAL REMISA WAS THE BEST, the limited runtime cut plots and explanations (I kind of appreciated the ending, though I cried because I was hoping it would end differently), and I don't think they had a Watari. Actually thinking about that, that's probably the most ooc L thing in the whole movie: being able to take care of himself. (well presumably to some degree considering he's still alive at the start)
But yeah... I love musical L... I don't mind when he's ooc because it only disrupts soft headcanons of mine, not hard ones. I also haven't watched it for a while so I may be misremembering some things, but still. Gosh I really want to hug him... his clothes look so soft.... maybe I'll just steal his voice box/j

The Maybe Man
ok no one asked, but here is my AJR album review, song by song:
🌀 Maybe Man: I love this. I have a special place in my heart for all their album openers, they always give me chills. I can't wait to see them open with this live, especially when it goes so hard at the end! I've danced to this a lot already. Also learning that each verse references one song on the album! like a table of contents! I love them so much.
💔 Touchy Feely Fool: Very cute, and fun to sing along with. Probably like a solid 7 or 8 out of 10. Great to listen to, and has grown on me after listening to that Zach Sang interview and learning a little backstory
👍 Yes I'm A Mess: One of my faves from the album. I feel like such a badass walking around listening to this. Wish I could whistle!! The only thing i can't stand is the very end. I don't mind the tempo change but I don't like the slo mo voices that sound like a toy running out of batteries
🤓 The Dumb Song: More mid-tier for me. Got a great swing to it, and the instrumental breaks are really fun to dance to like a total idiot. I like to try out the lamest dance moves and just really commit to it. Lyric-wise, it's cute but reminds me of male weaponized incompetence (I know this isn't the intention, just what i think about), so it makes me feel a little weird if I think about it too much. Can't wait to hear a whole crowd scream "You should nooooot have done that!"
▶️ Inertia: Currently, this is my FAVORITE song on the album. It's fun, it's meaningful, it's got a great beat, and there are sounds that bring me back to past albums so it feels almost nostalgic. They used the instrumentals a lot in their promos for this album, and I can see why. It's both angelic with the choir sounds, and dark with the reverb/bass sounds. So good.
🧍‍♂️ Turning Out Pt iii : Always appreciate the Turning Out songs. Personally, the original is still my favorite. But even that one took me listening to it a dozen times before it really HIT, and then i was crying in the car. So maybe the same will happen with this one someday! Also if i'm not mistaken it's Ryan on vocals? So that's fun to have a change (though honestly he and Jack sound so similar)
🧠 Hole in the Bottom of My Brain: Gosh, so fun! Has that kind of nursery rhyme theme where it builds on itself (swallowed the spider to catch the fly, etc). However, unlike a nursery rhyme, the lyrics are kinda complicated to it's hard to sing along to. I'm sure people will be singing along by the time they're performing it live, like everyone memorizing the rambling line from Karma.
💿 The DJ is Crying for Help: I want to like this one more than I do. Don't get me wrong, I do like it! I think I just find it a little auditorily overwhelming. Like the string arpeggios are awesome, but I can't listen to that and the back up vocals and other sound effects at the same time. idk. To quote my favorite movie, Amadeus: "There are simply too many notes"
🙅🏻‍♂️ I Won't: This one has been out for a while so I feel like I've listened to it a lot already. Definitely makes me swagger walking around my apartment like I'm a total badass. Doesn't get my blood rushing like some of the others, but again that might just be because I've heard it a lot already.
🎡Steve's Going to London: Took me a few play-throughs to actually realize it wasn't just a nothing song! I appreciate them kinda breaking the 4th wall in a very AJR way. This song has grown on me with each listen! Very fun to sing and dance to, and has a great beat. My prediction is that this song will have a lot of special effects when they perform it live. We'll see...
💜 God is Really Real: RIP Gary ❤️ I love that their dad became a beloved part of the fandom. Very touching that they released this song early when it became clear they didn't have much longer with their dad. Beautiful, meaningful addition to the album.
🍂 2085: Perfectly packages up the album! The lyrics say that the old-timey voice says "You are not alone, young child, young child" which is NOT what it sounds like?? So hopefully that gets cleared up. I've seen some claiming it's a Yanny/Laurel situation, and tbh i wouldn't put it past the boys to find a way to do that on purpose. (I hear "You are my heart grown, just know, just know" which i know doesn't really make sense, but it's sweet to me) But the lyrics at the end "You've gotta get better, you're all that I got" give me chills. And then switching to "I gotta get better, I'm all that I got" 😭 . Also loves that it connects so perfectly back to Maybe Man so I can just listen to the album on repeat without interruption
THE END

🧪 Do you research for your fics?
🤩 What led to your interest in the fandom?
💡How many WIPs do you currently have?
🚦What sort of endings do you prefer to write: ambiguous, bad, happily ever after, etc.?
hello best friend, fun to see you around this part of town!
🧪do you research for your fics?
yes! i do! probably not as much as i should or could but i mostly do canon divergence fics so i don’t have to do too much digging, usually i’ll do a really ridiculous amount of research in terms of medical terms and conditions and also food. when i wrote stranger things fanfic i went on a dive to find the particular flavor of koolaid kids would have been drinking in the summer of 1985 for a throwaway line. i am writing an AU right now that asks for more research but it’s a fiction world based AU so i can still wiggle my way out of some stuff if i want to.
🤩what led to your interest in the fandom?
im guessing you’re asking about this sideblog and my karate kid/cobra kai interest (which, extremely funny to be talking about it with you), the answer to that is my mom, actually! my mother was a huge fan of the karate kid trilogy when she was young and i grew up watching the movies. when they made cobra kai, my mother really was interested in it and we watched it premiere on youtube red before it was picked up by netflix. as for fandom, immediately as i watched the show i was like wait… i could write this better, mainly i have many thoughts about the expression of masculinity through violence in this show and how it influences the characters. i also love messy messy families and this show is full of it. and of course, i love when men are obsessed with each other for over 30 years and act divorced.
💡how many WIPs do you currently have?
far too many! i couldn’t honestly say. right now im working on three pretty consistently but i have a bunch of stuff that i’ve put on the back burner.
🚦what sort of endings do you prefer to write: ambiguous, bad, happily ever after, etc.?
bittersweet! i love when fics have a bit of a nuanced ending of yes, we might have ended up where we wanted to but the pain mattered, it was felt and we are still living with it. or on the other side, we didn’t get where we wanted but there was a lot of love during this journey and it might not have helped, but it mattered.
thank you for this!! i loooove you!!!

Season 1, Episode 8 the lucky cat caper for @csweekly
Another of my favorite episodes almost entirely thanks to Chase Devineaux and his beloved coat. RIP
The screen is SATURATED in red the ENTIRE exam. Trying to show that Black Sheep was SAFE even if she didn’t realize it at the time.
I find it a neat detail that Carmen here isn’t looking to see if she has the dollar until she’s tried several pockets and has stopped to rest. The scene is really effective for me to show exactly how good she is.
More of Player and Carmen talking through nightmares for their health, please. How many times has this happened before and where are the fics. In general I crave to see more domestic in between caper scenes like this. The downtime. On that same vein, love the insight into the team that the whole scene provides. Player just literally hangs out on the phone with Carmen all day, just for fun. Presumably this is what they always do. Nice reminder that capers aside, they are still each other's best friend and they want to hang out.
CARMEN WANTS TO SPOIL HER FRIENDS. I love the entire auction sequence because probably unsurprisingly her love language to others is gifting/acts of service. Zack’s favorite movie? Yeah let’s get him the car because he’s my driver and I can’t wait to see his reaction. Player wants to spontaneously take up stamp collecting? Yeah I’ll get him the one of a kind stamp to START. Yeah I love Carmen loving her friends. This episode is so chalk full of between the lines team red bonding.
IM SORRY. THE SHOE kills me every time. Season 1 Chase is such a good fumbling foil. I love him so much. He’s on the right track usually but soooooo wrong. Julia again has such patience that she really shouldn’t have to put up with. She’s the most right track but everyone around her has blinders on. Otherwise this show wouldn’t be near as long lol.
First episode with Mime Bomb in the field! He’s such a funky dude. Nice to see that the Faculty have become proficient in mime for him. They took a while to get what he was saying in the opening episodes but now Maelstrom gets him right away. There’s a fic in there somewhere with several (probably creepy) one on one sessions between the two.
I really love that the Cleaners actually clean throughout the show lol. They don’t seem to mind. Probably my favorite of the VILE operatives. They’re just so. Done. Dangerous. Chill.
AND they pause for TEA and gossip. As in Coach Brunt and Shadowsan tensions. Love these guys.
No one backs up Brunt that VILE is family. Like yeah she can live in her own little world. It’s such a pity the show wasn’t able to explore this fully you can see the set up. They wanted to do something and it needed another season to bring it around.
FINE FINE SEND WHOMEVER. The Faculty are simultaneously the cruelest and absolute silliest people on the planet. I love them muchly. Their interactions with each other tickle me to bits.
Assuming The Troll has always been with VILE (since Shadowsan is aware of his existence), he totally made that bomb icon for the tracker app.
Mime Bomb is super clever honestly, to do the bait and switch like that. He uses Tigress and the cat and the store to make a clean getaway (at least from Carmen) WITH the stamp. The entire sequence of events in this episode is extremely entertaining. There’s so much cool stuff going on, either paralleling a previous episode or something new and fun.
Love the shop owner lol. Takes everything in panicked stride.
Chase and Julia are SO close. (Look at that lack of keycard) I'm amused that Carmen gets to witness part of that. And speaking of this interrogation scene, I do think of the interrogation scene from Detective Pikachu every single time I watch this episode. Then I double over laughing.
ON BASTILLE DAY
And the stamp goes into the lucky coat. I'm always in awe of so many moving parts to this episode that all tie neatly together at the end.
When I first watched this i really thought that Carmen would get there in time but Chase’s coat getting shredded is better because then we get one of the best deliveries of any line in the show. The *cracked sob* of SHE iS VICIOUS AND CRUEL is magical. Please appreciate this with me.
Even VILE makes sure their operatives use a seat belt.
LOOK AT HOW HAPPY ZACK iS. And how he wants to replicate the movie he is absolutely a top notch driver but he is a cinnamon roll. The duality of Carmen’s focus and Zack’s childlike delight makes me so happy. And then when he gets into serious mode LOOK at Carmen. She’s halfway convinced she’s not going to make it lol. Take notes, Carmen does not like not being in control of a situation that makes her uncomfortable. She’ll fall off buildings but when she’s being driven somewhere in a high stress situation she fears for her life.
For the record, I hope team red watches the whole Rogue Vendetta series for movie night.
Also the music in this sequence slaps.
“THIS IS EXACTLY WHY IM NOT INVITING YOU ALONG. I CANNOT BE SLOWED DOWN BY CAUTION WORDS” This man. These writers. Off the wall bonkers great.
“The woman beams herself from a fountain pen she can do anything.” Fhfhfgcff
What car number is this again the ongoing joke is superb.
The amount of upper body strength from both women to climb the bridge.
So cool that it’s all parallel to the exam and Carmen gets to sorta put her nightmares to rest. Just in time to have new nightmares next week! :D
I like how the Cleaners just stand by with their metaphorical popcorn and shine a spotlight. Running theory is that they just like the drama.
She got the phone too! I love this ending. Carmen got validation on her own, she doesn’t need the answer over the coat. Even though she gets it next episode haha. It’s freeing though for her to get some resolution here. She’s not dependent on Shadowsan’s reasoning in preparation for the next episode. It’s the message that she’s continually freeing herself from VILE every day.
Oh boy oh boy I can’t wait for next week. The angst monger in me is SALIVATING.

Goose's Promo Parade begins shortly, Exquisite Beans.
But I’m going to take a moment to appreciate a few people who have made my experience on this blog wonderful ❤︎
@stxrlxrds
AAAAAAAAA I’m so glad you followed me back ;w; do you know I had a little mini panicfest when I was originally about to follow? I was petrified you wouldn’t want to interact. All your muses are fantastic, but I won’t lie, Quill has a special place in my heart with how he set off every alarm and claimed that was his plan all along.
You are a fantastic bean, and I know good things are coming your way~
@benevolentgodloki
When I saw your username, I couldn’t believe you were the same Loki I admired for years when I wrote Steve Rogers. XD I never had the nerve then to approach, and I am super thankful with Carol I was a tad braver. Your Loki is spot on, and you are the sweetest of beans.
@definitelynotaraccoon
Y’know I never knew how Carol would interact with Rocket, I never read the comics. So I had no idea what to expect other than big guns and sarcasm XD. Approaching you and your muse was incredibly easy and our thread is so much fun. I was and still am ecstatic that you’ve returned to the rpc.
You capture Rocket perfectly, and I can’t wait for our muses to have more adventures. C:
@labwebs
Carol will protect Peter 1 to the end of her days, fact. He is the sweetest, and gave her his Disney+ account to binge (which she 100% does, and probably shares it with the Guardians on movie night, let’s not lie).
Peter 3 is a fun companion to have on a spaceship, especially when he jumped up on the ceiling and Carol just sort of… stared.
You’re an amazing person to talk to, and I really enjoy reading your headcanons and thoughts that pop up on dash. Your writing is top notch and your characterisation on both muses is wonderful.
@girlofsteel
Loveliest bean, you’re sweet, kind, and patient. I adore your writing and your rendition, Kara is mwuah *chef’s kiss* Actually all your muses are perfecto, but Kara is this wonderful ray of sunshine that Carol can’t get enough of.
Also Carol has a crush, but can you blame her?
@normaltothemax
MOON GOONS. They’re all precious. Does Carol have a favourite? Yes. Is it Jake? Also Yes. Will she ever tell him that? Maybe.
All your characters are fascinating and well written, even though I don’t interact with them, I do lurk and read <3 You’re an amazing human being, and a lot of fun to talk to and plot with.
@recklesshybrid
You came out swinging my friend, with your kindness and excitement. :D I was honestly surprised when you sent me a message so quickly after we followed one another. You’re lovely and your enthusiasm is a blessing <3
Your Quill is wonderful, fun, and well written. I look forward to the adventures that our muses will go on >:3 perhaps after he finds a way to get…you know… unarrested. XD
Also, you should know that Quill is never getting his jacket back, it belongs to Carol now. >w>
@rcdlcdger
Lovely bean, did you know I have not once spelt your url correctly on the first try? xD Honestly, it took me three times just now. You are super sweet and kind, never change! You’re perfect, and I’m so thankful we get to write together and chat. :3 I hope soon when our schedules line up we can add gaming to the list.
You write a number of muses, but Nat is my favourite. I adore the sass she gives to Carol, and though Carol complains, she loves Nat and her attitude as well. Captain Adorable will always be there for her spy.

Wait i actually wanna hear your thoughts/opinions on the Saw movies!
Anon, this is a risky thing to ask me because all that will happen is you will get a 10k word essay from me as a result. But okay. I am going to put this under "Read more" because I truly mean it when I say this ended up very long.
So first of all, I fucking love the Saw franchise. Like objectively it's not that good, especially the sequels, but I love these movies and the characters (mostly). I'm really excited for Saw X, even though I know it's not going to be good. The 10th movie in a horror franchise is never actually good, but at this point I feel like Saw could give me anything and I'll still watch it.
Despite some of the sequels being not so great, I genuinely think the first movie is a masterpiece. I'm a sucker for low budget movies because I love seeing what people can do with little money and I think Saw does a great job at showing the world, the traps and everything. It's definitely not perfect and you can tell it's got a small budget at times, but it just still works so well. Also let's be honest, Saw would not work if it had a huge budget.
Anyway, the story of the first one is still so intriguing and well made, even when you're someone like me who's seen it several times. And the reverse bear trap scene still hits.
I love Adam and Lawrence as characters. They're so intriguing to watch and Adam truly has the funniest lines ever. "This is the most fun I've had without lubricant." sir, you are in a death trap lmao!
Even the other characters are interesting to watch imo.
Oh, and I can't not mention the early drafts of the Saw script. There are some lines that make me insane every time I think about them. I'm sure you can find some of them on tumblr. My favourite is probably "so many days you have wanted to die. Now your goal is to make it out of here alive. Either way, you win, yes?". In the early drafts Adam was quite suicidal and that line is in the Jigsaw tape to Adam. Honestly there's so much about Adam in the early drafts that makes me lose it a little. There's even some dialogue of Lawrence asking Adam about him being suicidal. It just... aaaaaaaaaaaaaa yknow?
Saw really has such well written characters. Even if the story isn't always the greatest, the characters make up for it a lot.
Especially Amanda. Like her being addicted to heroin and after the rbt, she and John thinks she's good now. He's healed her. But he hasn't. She now needs John's approval. And she still hurts herself and starts killing others. Because John didn't do shit. He turned her into this monster and he doesn't really care. He supposedly cares that she's killing people, but only because he lives with some weird god complex where he thinks he's not killing people.
But genuinely if you really think about it, she's just a tragic character and that's the point. I love her character, even though she'll never get anything good to happen to her.
Also on a less serious note, Amanda Young is a lesbian. No, I'm not projecting. (I am)
Now onto Jigsaw himself. Fucking John Kramer. I would beat him up if he was real. I don't care that he's an old man dying of cancer, I would punch him. Every time he talks about how he doesn't kill people and that killing is distasteful, I feel like fighting. Dude straight up kidnaps people and puts them in death traps that are nearly impossible to escape. But sure. Yeah, they totally had a choice in the matter. Also like what choice did the people in Saw III have? They didn't have a choice, they had to have Jeff choose for them. And the people in Saw VI? Like I love Saw VI and I love that it's about health care in the US, but like those people didn't get to choose shit. He killed them. And yes, he's dead by that point, but it's his design and his trap. John Kramer is stupid and I would fist fight him at any point in time.
Sorry, I guess I should move on to the second movie.
I think the second movie is pretty good. I prefer the first one and kinda wish the 2nd one had some better character stuff, but the traps in the second one are so good? The fucking needle pit makes me cringe every time. Also fun fact, they used over 100k syringes for that trap. People had to remove the needles from each one to ensure that it's safe and I remember seeing this behind the scenes video where even the 100k syringes weren't enough. They had to put padding at the bottom to make it seem like the pit was a lot more full.
I also do like the idea of all the victims being connected because they were framed by Detective Matthews. And the twist is pretty cool too even if "your son is in a safe place" is silly. Did it have to be a pun? It's so funny.
Also Amanda waking up in the trap and immediately checking if there's a trap on her head? Makes me insane actually.
Now onto the third one, I genuinely think I'd like it more if Jeff didn't suck. He's a frustrating character to watch most of the time. However, I do think that The Rack (the trap Timothy was in that slowly twisted his limbs) is the worst trap ever, but like I mean that in a good way. It's probably the only trap I genuinely have to look away from. I can't handle watching it fully.
I think a lot of the other traps in Saw III are pretty cool too, again, I just wish Jeff was less frustrating of a character.
But Amanda and Lynn? First of all, there was something gay as hell going on there. If they both didn't literally die in that movie, I would say they hate-fucked afterwards. Also Amanda is so hot in this movie. Uh, I mean, what? Who said that? I'm not simping for the murderer.
Okay. I definitely prefer the Amanda, Lynn and John side of the plot. I think it's a lot more interesting to watch, especially with Amanda struggling because of the letter and not knowing whether to kill Lynn or not. I also like that we find out more about Amanda and her mental state after everything John has done.
I will forever be upset that Saw III has so many deleted scenes. Especially the one where Adam and Amanda interact. I think it's such a good scene, I wish they kept it in. (If you haven't seen it, the deleted scenes are all on youtube). I think it's so cool to see how Amanda is like hesitant almost for a bit to do anything to Adam because he's being nice to her. And like she's going to his apartment to kidnap him. She has zero good intentions, but she looks to almost second guess the decision as he's leaving.
Fourth movie, let's go! The fourth one is in my opinion very funny. Mainly because of the ridiculous scene transitions. I saw this behind the scenes video where Darren Lynn Bousman (the director) was so excited about the scene transitions, but me and my friends have watched this movie and laughed at the transitions. They're so ridiculous. Especially the one where the lady is goes through the mirror and onto the police office.
Anyway, the main overall trap is kinda not that great in this one imo. And the whole reason that the character is in the trap because he spends too much time trying to catch Jigsaw is ridiculous. However, I do like the fact that a rapist gets put in a Saw trap. 10/10
Oddly enough, I don't remember the overall plot that well of this movie. I don't even think its a bad Saw movie, I think it's pretty good. It's just kind of forgettable overall I guess?
Saw V... Saw V is a movie that I think could've been really good, but ended up kinda crap.
First of all, the concept of the trap is probably one of my favourites. I love the idea that all of them could've survived, if they just worked together and weren't selfish. I think it's a great idea. However, I don't think it was executed that well. Mainly, I think the backstory of the characters should've been clearer. And just the characters in general could've been better. Also sorry, but I thought the reveal that they could've worked together was so obvious. I think with some more improvements in the script, this could've been great though.
The fucking cop plot however? Jesus christ, I hated it. Mark Hoffman walks around like he's got "I'm Jigsaw" taped on his back, yet somehow not a single person is suspicious of him and instead think Strahm is guilty. Like please, Hoffman is not that good at hiding.
Also whoever did the casting for Saw IV and V is my enemy. I genuinely had a hard time telling Strahm and Hoffman apart at first. They both look like generic white guys and I'm supposed to distinguish from these two? It doesn't help that they're fucking dressed a similar way. I kinda wish they would've altered their appearance a little more at the very least.
The end is cool though.
Saw VI is one of my favourites though. It's a bit dumb, but I love it. I love that they show the stupidity that is American healthcare in it. I enjoy the traps a lot. Especially the shotgun carousel. Hello? Whoever thought of that is kind of genius. It's a really cool idea imo. I also think the characters are better written in this too. I will never not think that Jigsaw putting the janitor in a trap for smoking is kinda dumb, but I kinda understand why he's there.
The twist isn't great, but it's a great movie overall.
Fun fact: Saw VII aka Saw: The Final Chapter was originally supposed to be two separate movies. But Saw VI didn't do as well as studios wanted, despite the fact that it was a lot better critically received. So the studio made the filmmakers cut the idea down to one movie. I really wish we could've gotten two though, that would've worked way better. Apparently one was supposed to focus more on Lawrence, which would've been really good.
The Saw VII we did get is not a very good movie. Character-wise it's bad. The traps are okay. But also this movie is weirdly ugly? Like whatever they did with the colour grading didn't work at all. I think it looks hideous. The wrong colours stand out and it doesn't feel as much of a Saw movie anymore.
Saw VII needed more Lawrence. Also the way that the guys wife did nothing wrong and didn't deserve to slowly burn alive. Oh, also, I think the concept of a therapy group for Jigsaw survivors is so unintentionally funny. It's like an absurd comedy, how are there enough people for there to be Jigsaw survivors therapy group lmao
Just realised I haven't even mentioned Jill and Hoffman's whole plot, but tbh idk if there's much to say about it. I think it makes sense for John to want to test Hoffman when he's become too serial killer-y. And it's cool to have the rbt return. Especially in VII where we actually see someone get killed by it. I know Saw VII is the most hated, but imo it's not the worst Saw movie.
Which greatly leads us to Jigsaw. The worst Saw movie! Fuck Jigsaw (2017). Me and my homies all hate Jigsaw (2017).
First of all, Jigsaw looks even less like a Saw movie than VII. Like why did they try to go for this modern look to it? Why was that necessary? I think part of what makes the Saw movies so good is the gross 2000s look. It doesn't work as well without it.
The characters are alright. Although the scene where that one guy is right by the thing that would disable the trap completely and he doesn't fucking do it is kinda frustrating. Like at that point, do it just in case. I don't remember the exact details of the trap, but I'm talking about the bike one. I think he had to press a bike break? And the spinning trap that would kill him would be deactived completely.
But what really makes me hate this movie is the ending. First of all, John taking a bullet, showing it to the other two and going "this is the key to your survival" and then us finding out that he put keys to the chains inside the bullet? Yeah, what the fuck? This is so much worse than "He's in a safe place". I hate that part so much.
Of course, the twist that this was all in the past is even dumber. If this happened before Adam and Lawrence, then why does Billy have glowing eyes? Why does John suddenly have high-tech TV's. Why does the Jigsaw trap look like a fucking corporate office. Why is everything the way that it is?
But the truly worst part is Logan. My sworn enemy. I would gladly punch John, but that feeling is tripled when it comes to Logan. He's like a more annoying Hoffman. And Logan's been here from the start? Fuck off, no he hasn't. And "John didn't think I should die because of an honest mistake." I'm killing Logan. I'm aiming a gun at the writers of this movie. I'm fist fighting everything in sight. How do you watch SEVEN whole movies about the kind of person John is and think he would ever save someone because of a mistake? Logan's annoying ass should be dead. And listen, I know there's a theory out there where someone is saying that maybe John saved Logan because he put too many drugs in his system, which caused Logan not to wake up in time to give him a decent chance, and what John really meant was that he (John) made a mistake. But no, that's still stupid. It's John Kramer! He'd just blame Logan for the fact that the drugs didn't let him wake up in time. John wouldn't save him.
Also how does being spared by a serial killer equal deciding to work for said serial killer? What was the reason? Why did Logan do all that and decide that he wants to help John? It makes no sense! This movie makes no sense. The traps aren't even good enough or entertaining enough to look past all the stupidity. It makes me upset that they fucked up a Saw movie this badly. Saw is already convoluted enough. They genuinely could've just given a generic Saw trap plot and a generic cop plot, and it would've been 10x times better. Anything would've been 10x better than Jigsaw (2017). I truly hate that movie, I'm sorry.
Okay, finally there's Spiral: From the Book of Saw. Now I see quite a bit of dislike for Spiral out there on the internet, but honestly? I actually think it's alright. I'd put Spiral above Jigsaw and Saw VII. Maybe even above V.
This movie also abandons the gross 2000s aesthetic, but I think it works better here because it's a completely different setting and it's not Jigsaw! It's not John or Amanda or Hoffman or Logan. It's a copycat killer and in turn, I think that makes me more okay with the change in style.
Also I think the traps in Spiral are awesome. I especially like that, since this is a copycat killer, the whole "make a choice" thing kinda goes out the window too. It's just a bunch of brutal traps and I don't mind that at all.
The tongue trap is pretty unforgettable, but for some reason the finger one makes me cringe the most. Something about the idea of your fingers being pulled apart just gives me that slight uncomfortable feeling. Also the trap with the wax was pretty interesting too and quite brutal.
The twist in this movie, however, is so predictable imo. Like the second they didn't show the trap William was supposedly in, I knew he was alive and guilty. But I do love a Jigsaw that says ACAB.
I do also think Spiral has a lot of flaws. Like it's overall not a very good movie, but I enjoyed it. My opinion might be slightly influenced by the fact that this was the first Saw movie I saw in cinemas and it was a fun watch, but still. The movie's alright. I wouldn't mind a sequel to Spiral.
And as mentioned previously, I'm really excited for Saw X. Especially since they're bringing back my girl Amanda. I know it won't be as good as the first one, but I at least hope that Saw X will be better than Jigsaw.

No I’m... doesn’t!
Been rewatching Futurama for the first time since the 2013 episodes came out and honestly, there’s good moments in literally every single episode, even the not-so-great ones. Yes even the original Fox run had a handful of just not great episodes and a few that have really aged badly. But honestly, most of them are still fantastic even at almost 25 years old. I watched those seasons on repeat so many times back in the 00′s that I could still quote half the lines along even after not watching them for a decade. Still sobbed at Luck of the Fryish/Leela’s Homeworld/Jurasic Bark and The Devil’s Hands are Idle Playthings.
The four movies take a big step downwards each as they go, but Bender’s Big Score is still pretty great, even if the whole Lars thing messes with the timeline and then seems to have been forgotten later on.
I hadn’t even watched the last two movies more than twice, and yeah, they’re not great but with some great moments in there if you wait for them.
The Comedy Central seasons start out rough, with a trilogy of bad episodes, including prooobably two of the very worst of the series right near the beginning. And yeah, there’s more “that was good (or okay)” than “that was great” in those two seasons, but there’s still a lot more to love in there then I’d remembered.
The Late Phillip J. Fry and Game of Tones in particular are standouts. I’m glad they finally let Fry and Leela have a relationship in the last season (or two depending on how you count them :p) and I don’t think that hurt the show in the least. I liked that they let Fry mature somewhat while he could still be a dumbass, he’s finally a version of himself it’s not impossible that Leela would want to be with.
I haven’t watched the final episode yet, which I know is also one of the best. I think I hadn’t wanted to rewatch the show since that third ending because I really did feel like that was it for Futurama for so long.
When I turned off the TV before watching the final episode earlier tonight, I was like “I don’t want to watch this because after I do, there’s no more Futurama” and immediately was happy again when I realized... there’s no new Futurama for a month and a half. I’m better now!
Futurama has been one of my favorite shows since I watched the pilot on the day it aired, and I’m ready for more.
On a more personal note, it was a little hard watching the show and hearing Leela a lot since I lost my cat I named after Leela back in February, but that’s what you get for naming a pet after someone when you know you’ve got at best 20 years with them. My other cat, Fry, enjoyed watching the show with me and actually paid attention to the TV more than he normally does. I don’t really think he understood the names Fry and Leela being spoken on the screen, but it’s fun to imagine he did. He probably liked the bright colors a lot more.

Spoilers
So, I just finished watching the first two-episode premiere of The Santa Clauses. And below the cut to avoid spoilers for peeps who haven't seen them yet, I'll be giving my general overall thoughts about it so far.
Happy watching friends!
So, in a general personal consensus, it's pretty mid lol
However, many good things there are about it, there is also an equal number of bad things as well. The talk about problematic ideology took me out of it for the most part. And we all KNOW that the CEO is gonna be the next Santa and I'm fairly certain no one is happy nor surprised.
But for all of the poor jokes and such I actually enjoyed it more than I thought! Buddy/Cal has unexpectedly taken a very high place on the list of some of my favorite characters. I am PRAYING he meets that crossing guard, I love him. And all his Himbo energy.
And I actually find it really funny that the franchise just, keeps adding Clauses for Scott to find later lol. They just keep making new ones and I love that.
SO HAPPY that Carol is back. Can't wait to see her kick ASS later in the series. And I feel like the future story line of finding Mrs. Claus’s identity CAN be done really well if they handle it in just the right way. But she’s gonna shine no matter what.
AND I AM IN LOVE WITH NOEL AND BETTY. MALEWIFE/GIRLBOSS POWER COUPLE!! I am actually really looking forward to watching them more throughout the series. And really looking forward to how they’ll interact with Bernard later, I think that’ll be fun.
We got ONE (1) single Jack mention, and I’m very surprised that it happened this early on. Granted it was just about what he did in the third movie, and it barely counts as a mention, BUT ILL TAKE IT. That is MY frozen lunatic thank you kindly. (Still holding out for a Marty cameo)
Honestly a little disappointed that Charlie won't be taking over, and I DO NOT like his wife. His role in this is probably gonna be very short, but him being a dad is really cute.
I'm going into the rest of the series with an open mind, but with expectations still relatively low. It's a series that I feel like I could stop watching right now and I wouldn't feel bad about it or felt like I missed out on anything.
But maybe that'll change! Who knows. Either way, that's my little unwanted opinion, my two cents on the matter.

For the Fanfiction Wrapped ask meme: 2, 3, 18, 28, 29, and 30. (Couldn't pick just one!)
nothing but love and kisses for you 🥰
2. How many works did you publish this year?: i'm currently sitting somewhere in the 120-130 ballpark! (stats slightly skewed from posting new chapters of old fics, and the fact that i have a couple ideas i'd like to publish before the year is out sksksk)
3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?: OOOOOOOOOoooooo. God. The way I know I'm gonna put more than one here because I have no self control 😂 But i WILL say, the first one that came to mind was my Carmy/Luca fic Closing the Gap. I just. Yes. I'm very very proud of that one. I love them so much. Also up there on the list is my Bucky/Nat fic Over and Over and Over Again. Because I love Bucky and Natasha in general but this was also my first time ever trying to write a time loop fic and i DIDNT chicken out on it. 😌 There are others but I will leave it at that lmao
18. The character that gave you the most trouble writing this year?: I wrote for more NMX characters this year than any year prior. You can attest to that because I bombard you with all of the fics lmaoooo. But no matter how many NMX fics I write, I still spend a good amount of time in existential crisis mode staring at the doc because I am always in a constant state of panic writing them. Min and Claudio both had me
Tumblr media
28. Favorite work you wrote this year?: I love all of my children equally. But I will say that two of the fics that I had the most fun writing this year were my Steve Murphy/Reader fic Bad Guy Treatment. The fact that a smut fic is making the top of my list of faves is truly innedsane to me lmao. Another one is my Gilly Lopez/OC fic Far From Over. Ironic title considering it is an unfinished multichap but i WILL get back to it. Manifesting! And I truly don't think it would be Fic Time With Tay if I didn't shout-out one of my angst fics. Carrillo & Diego take the cake in the category with Grave Mistakes. I killed him. I killed him and actually sort of enjoyed doing it sksksk
29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?: fighting the urge to scan through all my fics for my fave dialogue lines but we all know i would drown myself in dialogue if i could 😂 But this little excerpt from my Carmy fic The Bridge is very near and dear to me. That entire fic is, honestly. But I'm really proud of this little snippet:
He wondered how quiet it was when Mikey was there. Did he have to wait for traffic to slow down? Did he even care? He probably didn’t care. Why would he? He wondered if Mikey still would’ve pulled the trigger if he’d gone out onto the bridge in the middle of the afternoon like this. Carmy couldn’t picture killing himself in that moment, not with the sun and the pigeons and the traffic. Not because it was all too beautiful to leave behind, but because God there were just so many eyes on him even if they weren’t really looking at him. He wished Mikey was there. He wished he’d come back so Carmy could push him into traffic himself for all that his brother had put everyone through.
30. Biggest surprise while writing this year?: Top Gun: Maverick. That' it. That's the post. 😂 lmao but on a serious note when i went to see the movie i did NOT think i was ever going to end up writing fic for it and yet!! here we are!!!! and i've truly been enjoying it. But I think the other thing that caught me by surprise was how much I was able to write for the July Smut Challenge, and how much I truly enjoyed writing it all. I don't consider myself a smut writer but it was such a blast!
Thank you for these. It will keep me warm until spring. 🥰
