Beel, Are You Srs Brah? WHB Event React Part 3 *Spoiler Warning*

Now, since it's been a minute, if you need to refresh your memory bounce on over here ->

If you're ready to go, then lets goooooo (I really do have a feeling this is gonna be longer than I intended goodness)

So we left off where Amon was asking Miss Dealer when she got off work and well it turns out this is more of a deal/gamble. They play a game and she gets off immediately from work. And if she wins-

Now tbh I don't know if she means like they will work for her or honestly if this means sex slaves lol but it's wild because Nabe, Stolas, and Amon are NOBLES of Beel and yet they can be roped into shit like this??? That's just wild to me. Status gets you nowhere in Avisos other than trouble I guess.

What's crazier is that because they want that info from her, they all agree to this bet. Amon is rolling ahead and going with it in confidence (love that) Stolas and Nabe are pretty much like worried that they'll just be stuck as slaves forever lol, but they agree to it anyways.

Amon goes first, the game being that they have to beat her in rock, paper, scissors. And he wins the first two rounds. She's confused because she was certain her literal mind tricks would work to manipulate the situation just like she did with other devils (lmao this is Hell after all) and perhaps she should have worn a smaller shirt. (Amon ain't fallin' for titties unless they're Beel's sorry girlie) And so, because he won so flawlessly, Stolas and Nabe both think he fell asleep on Miss Dealer and ask him to blink and he does slowly and I'm just like well yeah he's awake guys.

And then...he WON the final round. Stolas asks how he did this, and he reveals he was just holding on to the Beel plush keychain the entire time as a good luck charm.

Miss Dealer has to pay up though, Amon won...

Girl, me too if Amon was that close to my face. Let's not forget he has a weapon hidden in his pants...

So he's just like telling her she needs to get off work like she promised, and from here all he did was touch her shirt and pull her closer to him.

Like damn he's good at what he does. Like boy where you learn that from? Because it's working on me too.

Buttttt it turns out, it's not all what it seems. He's being persuasive because he wants info from her. The loophole is that she can answer these questions since she's off work now. He can ask her anything.

At first, she protests, but he's like "You'll want to answer me..."

and starts being flirty again.

So our boi is being cheered on by Nabe and Stolas, because he's taking this seriously. He does ask a question to the dealer devil that Nabe deems as off the mark but I mean it works??? He asked what Beel and her spoke about, and she straight up says they fucked in other words. "we didn't talk verbally" GIRL JUST SAY YOU FUCKED HIM LMAO

Let me just say for the record I'm fucking jealous because not only did she get hand-picked by Beel to be the highest-class dealer of the casino, but she got to sample that dick too AND eat dessert with him?

Ugh, give me your life miss dealer devil. I want it. (Patiently waiting for that fucking H-scene I tell you cause WHEN)

So she shows Amon how she was feeding the macaroons to Beel before, and he's all like frozen in time like the macaroons are hypnotizing him and Nabe and Stolas are wondering what the fuck is going on.

And I have a feeling I know what's happening yet again...

So the desserts/food once again are so perfect all of our bois are falling prey to it and eating as much as they can. Even the snacks and cakes.

Guys...not again T^T remember what happened at the bar?

NABE YOU KNOW DAMN WELL HAHAHAHA Like I'm sure he knows but maybe he just wants to hear her confirm it so he's not just assuming things. Nice of him to question himself but honestly?? Hahaha just damn.

So while she's answering Nabe's questions she keeps staring at Amon the entire time with hearts in her eyes and probs creaming her pants nearly And then thing is that he did remember one thing that happened specifically when Beel arrived at the casino. He was riling up everyone with his presence, egging them on to keep playing the games and winning. But then...the smaller devils come in and said that he was throwing out weapons and encouraging others to fight each other to the death??? (sounds like a him thing ngl) But then the bodyguard was like oh yeah no that's not right, he said whoever offers up a piece of their body to him can have the next turn at playing the games and winning! But despite all of that nonsense and the rumors yet again, miss dealer answers that Beel did mention going somewhere afterward so Amon rewards her-

I don't know how she can sit there and be patient because the way my shirt would just be all the way off.

So they get a final answer from her that she heard that Beel stated he was going to the Cosplay Cafe as his next stop. Since Amon got his answer he gets up and she's all upset like "what about me?"

Damn Amon, you leaving her high and dry like that? (he cared less as he clung onto his little beel doll lol he does not give a fuck)

But our bois can't leave yet because...low and fucking behold

The bill is astronomical...and yet again it's because of the tab that Beel left open.

LIKE FOREAL BEEL COME ON MAN TT _____ TT

(why do I have a feeling he'd take you on a date, just to go to the bathroom and never come back and leave you to foot the bill)

So the devils give them options, to take out loans with high interest rates, or sell their body parts forcibly. It's even mentioned that one of the smaller devils beefed up three times the size of Stolas, Nabe AND Amon just to show they meant business.

Unfortunately, due to Nabe paying the first time around and Amon being broke over the Beel doll, our bby Stolas has to pay using monthly installment plans (poor bby in debt T^T)

So that's the true catch of the fucking casino. You're in so much debt from the high interests loans from how much you lost and spent there that you have to work until you pay it off, but it just ends up being a vicious cycle. Not to mention the desserts were so delicious you couldn't help but just keep eating.

Stolas and Nabe though now suspect foul play and I can't blame then since that's twice now they've been made to pay Beel's tab on top of their own with no intention of even partaking in any of the food/drinks of each place they visit.

Amon though is so focused on going to the Cosplay Cafe to find Beel he doesn't even care lol

So here we are folks at the Cosplay Cafe!!! But...as the theme has been going for the event, it's Dre that we see visit each place prior to our bois showing up.

The twin devils here greet him, because it's their job and not because they wanted to. And I'm just sitting here like, oh great who is in disguise this time because there has to be a reason Dre is there lol

And whelp it turns out that the pink haired devil twin is a fucking angel that he calls out to go fight him but here's the fucking kicker....

So you're telling me.

I'm sorry everyone I was just sitting there trying to process that because he CHOSE that form. I wanna say something but I'll wait.

So we're back with Dre confronting him and saying that he's been blessed by meeting the same angel from his past. We see there's a scar on his eye that's damaged just like Dre's, and that how it wasn't fitting for being in a such a tiny body. (you got that right but let's continue)

So we're going through a flashback right now of younger Dre, he seems to be around maybe 10 or so, (in human years) based on his look.

So it turns out that Raph was only aiming for Niflheim, I'm assuming just in a general sense and Dre's family was in the crossfire. He refers to them as jagged stones that were in his way so the nearby devils had to be removed.

Let me just stop here and say that Raph is a true villain here. He was on a mission, didn't care who was in the way and saw all of them as disposable.

Beautiful and creepy bone-crunching noises. Just as I expected and that's honestly how I wrote him in my longfic that he often cracks his bones on purpose. Figured that was an obvious canon thing, considering that he's just a gremlin of an angel.

I do like that every angel we run into it's described that their beauty would simply confuse humans and one would try to create a painting out of them. (ha it's funny because of all the nice fanart I see of the seraphs)

SEASON FINALE BABY LETS GOOO!!!!!

(Percy jackson ep 8 spoilers)

I'm just gonna start by saying if Disney doesn't renue this for a second season they are stupid and will have missed out on a harry Potter level phenomenon.

- LUKE MONOLOGUE HOLYSHIT ITS GIVING GOOD KID REPRISE

- HE IS KIND OF TERRIFYING IN THAT SWORD SCENE THO

- Ares' cackle. I love him .

- Ares just threw him like hulk did loki

- annabeth having to hold Grover back is so important to me because he's wanting to help percy but Annabeth knows this fight is to the death and any interruption would just get Grover killed.

- Annabeth also knowing he needs to prove himself as the son of poseidon and discover who he is.

- "let's kick the son of poseidon into a puddle right near the sea" I now understand why Athena is battle strategy and Ares is just war.

- THAT TSUNAMI JUST PARTING FOR PERCT US ICONIC AND HE JUST RUNS AND SWOOPS AND CUTS ARES

- my only critique is that Percy never does any movements to show its his power (which ik this is accurate to the books) but it comes off a little like he's just calling on Poseidon to do stuff. I wished they had some sort of indicator that it was Percy like maybe a slight movement or having the water pull back from the puddle he fell in and into the sea.

- I did think the fight was a little quick tbh but it still worked.

- the way I screamed "close your eyes close your eyes close your eyes!" When he was about to show his true form.

- woooh Hades helm

- The cabin looks fuckung terrifying rn

- I haven't seen the end of credit scene yet but I'm predicting it's going to be Sally with Gabe's statue.

- Aww they finally had father son time. Its so emotional and beautiful and its made me emotional.

- the line of applause and I'm just looking for Travis and Connor.

- The hugging is a thing.

- "an accusation against clarisse." "Without proof" annabeth has a feeling!

- honestly adding Clarisse as a traitor and using that to get Percy and Luke alone makes more sense to me given that they know someone at camp stole the bolt.

- I think now is the time to say how Charlie is amazing for Luke he's so sinister when he wants to be l.

- luke making him go through the Prophecy before he reveals and percy slowly realising why Omg chills.

- the red lighting on Luke highlighting his scar.

- Sally divorcing gabe is much much better than her just turning him to stone because it gives the message that she now recognises her son can look after himself and now she doesn't have to protect him anymore.

- GABE ASKING THE LAWYER HOW TO PICK A LOCK IS SO FUNNY

- I really like how it's his own hate for percy and everything percy has that gets him killed rather than straight up homicide. It really sets the idea that people like that will find their own downfall (which is ironic bc this trope is commonly used in ancient Greek tragedies)

season one of percy jackson is stunning. It's a masterpiece even with the changes and whilst there was definitely some timing issues and the cut to black became annoying, it was very, very good. If it is renewed for another season, it has a lot of potential, and I will be very excited to see how they adapt The Sea of Monsters for screen.

Tecchou:

-Cuddles between the two of you happen when you guys are at home

-Even if Tecchou doesn't really mind PDA, he's still quite serious when it comes to his job

-Now back to the cuddling. I feel like Tecchou would cuddle you gently at first, because he doesn't want to hurt you (this guy is the strongest of the Hunting Dogs)

-But the first time you asked him for a cuddle he was like ??? Do you mean a hug? Because he's kinda clueless when it comes to physical affection, but don’t worry, he’s a fast learner and soon you’d find yourself smothered in cuddles

-Overtime, cuddling has become the norm for you two. Watching TV? Cuddles. Sleeping in? Cuddles. Honestly Tecchou might cling to you so much that you'd have to be the one to tell him to stop lol. He just likes the feeling of you in his arms and he won't hesitate to cuddle you if you asked him to

-In all honesty, his cuddles are 👌👌👌 The warmth he gives off is just... mmmm

-When you two cuddle a lot more, he might incorporate some other actions. Such as stroking your hair, nuzzling his head into your shoulder, even sometimes giving you a kiss or two. But he’ll only do it if you’re comfortable with it(we stan a consent king 👑)

-Sometimes you can’t even pay attention to what is happening around you because that’s how damn good his cuddles are

-You’re cold? Just go and cuddle Tecchou. This man is s t r o n g and he probably doesn’t get cold easily as well. In fact he’s like a free heater lmao

-Overall, cuddles with him are a MUST

Jouno:

-Ok, I feel like you’d have to be the one to ask him for cuddles most of the time

-Not that he doesn’t want to cuddle you; he’s just not as used to affection and it’s kind of new to him

-Also I feel like he isn’t that much of an affectionate type. Sure, he enjoys cuddles and affection, but he’s not one for giving it. He shows love in other ways

-The first time you guys cuddled he was kind of...awkward. But he handled it kinda well and now he’s used to cuddles

-Cuddles are also when you guys are home. It’s a nice way for Jouno to relax when he’s come back from a long tiring day at work, and he loves being in your arms

-Also, he would put his head on your chest to listen to your heartbeat. I feel like your heartbeat might accidentally put him to sleep when he’s super tired lol

-This man is strong as well. If he doesn’t want to let you go, he’s basically clinging to you with his arms and good luck trying to get them off lol

-But be very sure that you want to cuddle, because this man will tease you if you ask for it

-Saying stuff like ‘Oh? Did my dear Y/N miss me so badly when I just left a few hours ago?’ with that cocky smirk on his face Jouno just admit that you want cuddles as well

-His cuddles are quite nice as well, but be warned, just as you were getting comfortable, he might try to make it into a tickling session if you’re not being careful. He will stop if you ask him to, but your laughter is just too precious for him. He’s already planning the next tickling session

-When he has a really bad and tiring day, he’ll just come to you and of course you cuddle him. These cuddling sessions are more peaceful and Jouno just listens to the calming sound of your heartbeat.

-STROKE HIS HAIR. It’s so soft and smooth, and your touch just lulls him to sleep when you guys are in each other’s arms. Good luck trying to escape now because when this man sleeps, he holds on and refuses to let you go

-Overall, cuddles with Jouno are great (if he’s not trying to tickle you)

BIG SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT FOR THE LAST OF US THE GAMES AND PROBABLY THE SHOW

Im very curious how close the end of the season is going to be to the end of the first game?

(this is rambly and unfocused, im just thinking about ittttt)

I have always been team The Vaccine Is Bullshit. Nothing about it made sense in the game, but that might just be half-assed writing to move the plot along, it wouldnt be the first nonsensical sci-fi plot point.

But the reasons, or some of them, it seems like bullshit are:

1. The outbreak is fungal, not viral. Vaccines are for viruses (this could be argued as pedantic, they could be using “vaccine” as a catchall here. BUT STILL)

2. This one random doctor who happened to survive the outbreak just happens to be able, all on his own, to figure this out this thing that everybody else says is impossible?

3. They want to kill Ellie as soon as they get her. I get that what they’re saying is they need to remove the growth on her brain to make the cure, and that will kill her, but surely there are other tests and experiments they would want to do on her alive first??? It’s so sus to just kill your one living immune person without trying anything else!

In the show they’ve gone out of their way to already cast doubt on the concept of the vaccine. An actual expert in mushrooms and fungus, rather than some random doctor, is like “yeah vaccines dont work on mushrooms bro.”

So i feel like either they are going to change certain details at the hospital to make it make more sense that they could actually figure out some kind of cure from ellie’s mushroom tumor thingie, which, good luck tbh. OR they are actually leaning purposefully into casting doubt on that entire premise, which the game does NOT do. The game never questions whether the vaccine is real. It implies that it is real, even though the facts dont add up, and even though ultimately it doesnt wind up mattering if it is real.

So if the show actually acknowledges doubt about it, that kind of changes a lot at least for us as the audience if not for the actual characters, depending on what they understand in universe.

I’m just very curious and eager to see what direction they go in. Or if they just dont address it either way and leave it nonsensical.

(i dont think confirmation of the vaccine being real or not would affect joel’s actions at the hospital, or affect the right-or-wrongness of those actions either, short of joel knowing FOR SURE the vaccine was fake which would make him honestly too purely heroic for this story. i think the only thing that would change joel’s actions would be if ellie had been allowed to wake up and *choose* to die. thats also the only situation in which joel doing what he does in the game would be purely wrong, and it would tooootally change the dynamics of the second game/future seasons of the show.)

(i also dont think the fireflies or abby’s dad specifically are like LETS KILL THIS GIRL AND NOT MAKE A VACCINE BECAUSE WE’RE EVIL so much as they just dont really know what the fuck theyre doing and they’re whole operation is on the verge of collapse and this is a final hail mary they’re willing to kill a kid over.)

I'm all good, if Jkk broke up atp tbh. JM seems to glow. He looks like someone who is out of a toxic relationship and found new freedom to do and enjoy everything he liked. And I'm happy if the reason is end of Jkk for his thriving.

On other hand, I'm being honest so bare with me, JK seems so miserable. Not only my opinion, I saw many saying JK seems so sad now. And how he looks like Tae in 2019 who was at a not so good place mentally then. And how they hope he talks about it to someone and try to be happy again. In almost all contents (which is only few btw) he seems gloomy. One sec he'll laugh next sec he'll go all sad and lonely. Even in New year message, when others told about things to look forward and how they are trying lot of various things with lot of hope. JK said he wish this year goes fine without much up and down. There was zero happiness or hope in his voice.

The cackle I let out 🤣 oh boy. Anywho, here is your book recommendation! Since I do this now. I give books recs to the haters instead of entertaining their nonsense lol

ACOTAR by Sarah J Maas. To be fair, SJM writes extremely white washed and heteronormative fantasy romance books. But they are a fun sandbox of stories and relationships to play around in. So while I don't love her, her books are fun.

As for WHY I'm recommending this series to anon based off their message, that will be full of SPOILERS SO DONT READ AFTER THE NEXT PHOTO IF YOU DONT WANT SPOILERS

Feyre is in a relationship with Tamlin for the entire first book basically. And into the second. But due to their own traumas, the relationship is incredibly toxic and unhealthy. She ends up leaving him and finds her fated mate in Rhys. Where she blooms and blossoms and becomes a very powerful person. Tamlin withers, becomes lonely, depressed, and full of malice. however i'm still curious about why he is Like That. what happened in his life i genuinely thought he just had depression but that wouldn't explain the rest of the shit he does

ik some ppl likely won't be a fan of his switchup since it just looks like david is ur typical dr antagonist version 4.0 but like tbh i like the ones that start out nice overall and then devolve from there

and the difference between david and say, nagito is the fact that u could see the twist happening from a mile away with david. it’s literally in the prologue.

but then that begs the question: whatever he said about arei during the trial (“i look forward to her killer's execution yada yada”), is that still what he genuinely feels? or is that also something he said to keep up his facade? because to me the unmasked david seems utterly hopeless and bitter, and what he said kinda lines up with that.

(also when he said “we are all definitely going to die here” after the first trial)

all this being said i still wonder why he chose to “give up” and "confess" to his crime, and thus get into that time wasting squabble with teruko about how he is in fact not the killer since he can't clearly explain how he did it. bc idk how much he or the rest of the cast (sans teruko) investigated but there was clearly more evidence that wasn’t discussed.

is he trying to protect someone? is he just bored out of his mind and enjoys sowing discord (chapter 2 daily life might suggest so)? does he just want to die and be free from this killing game, and is perfectly content with dragging everyone (sans blackened) with him?

anyway i am still very much interested in david's character and i wanna know more about him AND he's at least 5x hotter now good for him! good for him.

wot reread: lord of chaos (chap 47-end)

For the first time, this book isn’t better than the one before it imo. I would currently rank them (strongest to weakest): The Fires of Heaven; Lord of Chaos; The Shadow Rising; The Dragon Reborn; The Great Hunt; Eye of the World. I’m not sure if any of the remaining books will be able to top TFoH for me tbh. We will find out!

spoilers for lord of chaos

1. Elayne tries to demand (in an icily royal way) that Mat lend her his ter’angreal against channeling each night so that she may study it. Mat pretends to be ignorant of anything she’s talking about to the point of driving her to complete frustration. Annoyed at him, and potentially trying to teach him ‘manners’ like she bragged to Egwene that she would, she inspects his men’s horses and gives him her opinions on how well he’s done, as if he were one of her men.

2. Important future note about Ebou Dar culture: “a woman killing a man was considered justified unless it was proven differently”. It’s also a culture that’s very big on dueling.

3. Anyway, for all that Mat has a lot of random gender essentialist thoughts (like pretty much everyone else, though his tend to come with more insults and colorful language) he doesn’t see any reason why Birgitte can’t be a Warder, which puts him one up on pretty much every Aes Sedai who meets her.

4. The Aes Sedai also start channeling at him (presumably trying to study the effects of the medallion since he won’t let them borrow it). On the fourth day, they figure out that they can use the Power to make other things hit him. Super classy, guys. After that happens, Mat goes and drinks until he can’t stand up (because the thing that he was using for protection has a loophole that makes it less effective). This is honestly such a shitty thing for them to be doing to him. (we find out in the next chapter that Adelas and Vandene were the ones doing all the channeling and, wow, it would have done wonders for Elayne and Nynaeve’s relationship with Mat if they had... you know, told him that, but I guess Aes Sedai secrecy/solidarity is why they did not)

5. I admit that Ebou Dar does sound like a beautiful city. Not wanting to stay in the palace (good instincts!) Mat picks an inn at random -- the Wandering Woman, run by a woman named Setalle Anan. And the dice in his head stop. I really wish he would pay more attention to this sort of thing, tbh, the dice and his luck. He always ends up regretting it later that he didn’t (or, rather, he always ends up going through regrettable things because he didn’t). I’m actually going to mark this as another potential place for an AU and see how well it maps out if Mat had listened to his magical intuition here.

6. Nynaeve and Elayne are frustrated because, despite Egwene raising them to full sisters, Vandene, Adelas, and the Aes Sedai here in Ebou Dar are all still treating them like Accepted. Ah, now that Elayne is officially Aes Sedai, she’s introducing Birgitte as her Warder to everyone. And we learn that the reason that Adelas and Vandene came to Ebou Dar was to look for “runaways” though Elayne and Nynaeve do not know more than that. Aviendha was amused by Mat before but has now decided that he’s ‘irritating’; that would be Nynaeve and Elayne’s influence, I assume. Ah, and we learn that Egwene had a ‘discussion’ with Birgitte and learned the truth about her.

7. Elayne and Nynaeve go off to meet Queen Tylin, while Birgitte and Aviendha start their search of the city. Also, as of this point in the books, Nynaeve is twenty-six and Elayne is eighteen. We learn that Elaida has sent an ‘embassy’ to Ebou Dar as well, with two Sisters -- Teslyn and Joline. And the Whitecloaks also have an embassy here, led by Carridin, who Nynaeve and Elayne remember from Tanchico.

8. After Tylin tells them two of them how perilous things are for her here, Elayne tells Tylin all about their search for a ter’angreal to fix the weather. Tylin gets more instant trust than almost any other character in the series! Nynaeve is as startled as I am, at least. Elayne did it out of queenly solidarity, it seems. “I know how my mother felt about Aes Sedai traveling about Andor, never letting her know what they were doing.” Elayne also bets Nynaeve that she can have Mat “knuckling his forehead” for her within ten days, and Nynaeve takes the bet. There’s nothing riding on the bet tho.

9. Min “brought up” her viewing about Perrin needing to stay next to Rand to save him twice in front of Perrin and Rand wishes that she hadn’t; he really wants Perrin to go to Tear to be the visible face of Rand’s distraction army but now that Perrin knows about Min’s viewing, he won’t agree to do it. But Perrin didn’t want to go to Tear even before he heard about Min’s viewing, so *shrug*. Perrin says “what I want hasn’t seemed to count much since the first time we saw Moiraine” like he didn’t just go on an entire side quest of his own even while his ta’veren sense was saying that he should stay with Rand.

10. Loial is back and he and Rand catch up a little. Rand lets him know that his mother, Elder Haman, and Erith are now in the Two Rivers, where Rand thought Loial was. Loial is in a panic over it, since he’s not ready to get married and settle down in a Stedding. When Rand suggest that maybe Loial can talk to the Elders of the various Steddings so that he can put guards on all the Waygates, Perrin blows up on Rand, telling him that he’ll use anyone. Rand agrees but points out that he’s willing to use himself up as well.

11. Min arrives, frantic, to tell him that seven Aes Sedai are coming from the embassy (Rand has forbidden more than three at a time to enter the Inner City). She also punches him in this scene hard enough that she “made him grunt”. She’s spending way too much time with Faile. Can we just have ONE relationship without casual violence being a part of it? But because of Min’s warning, he is able to meet the Aes Sedai somewhat prepared (though very on edge due to Min’s viewing about Aes Sedai hurting him at some point in the future).

12. Demira speaks for the group and tells Rand that they have decided his restrictions for them are null and void; they will no longer follow them. Lews Therin is panicking in his head and argues that the situation is too dangerous and they need to strike first.

13. When Min gets back to the inn, she sees that two more Aes Sedai have arrived - Bera and Kiruna, the two that had been sent to the Aiel Waste to try to chase Rand so long enough. Which means there are now thirteen Sisters in Caemlyn, which is the number that Rand/LTT says means anyone, no matter how strong in the Power, would be helpless in front of. Panicked again, Min immediately leaves the inn to inform Rand. Bera and Kiruna both talk about how Rand must be “leashed” and “brought to heel”. And Min says that she’s sure these thirteen will hurt him; she’s talking out of her panic but Rand assumes it’s one of her ‘senses of absolute knowing’ that she gets about her viewings sometimes. And his flight here pretty much directly leads to him ending up in The Box (though I don’t think he ever thinks that through and asks Min to stop giving him vague ominous warnings about the future; but this does seem like a clear example of a self-fulfilling prophecy, where Min telling Rand about the viewing helped make it happen). Even without Min’s warning, he still might have panicked and fled, but it’s clear that his fear is considerably amped up by her viewing.

14. Rand tells Min that she will come with him for now but he will send her out of danger if it comes down to facing the Aes Sedai. She brandishes her daggers and refuses the idea. Brave but foolish, considering she has zero defenses against Aes Sedai (or Warders tbh; she’s spent a couple of months practicing daggers with Thom and that’s it; she would be dead in two seconds). He also collects Perrin and Faile to warn them. re: Perrin “he could not leave Perrin behind, and not because of any viewing; when Merana found Rand gone, one of them might well bond Perrin the way Alanna had him”.

15. So Rand is leaving for Cairhien with Min, Perrin, Faile, Loial, Gaul, Chiad, Bain, and Nandera with five hundred Maidens. I wonder if Chiad, Bain, and Gaul all feel like they don’t really fit in anymore due to having missed all the changes in Aiel society while they were in the Two Rivers. Sulin declares that she is coming as well. Everyone writes letters to leave to people, and the plot relevant ones are that Perrin tells the Two Rivers men to follow them to Cairhien, and Rand writes a warning to Taim about thirteen Aes Sedai and then a very harsh warning letter to Merana that he is going to Cairhien and she is allowed to follow with herself and no more than five other sisters, so that their embassy matches Elaida’s there. And Bera and Kiruna take firm control of the embassy.

16. Because it’s narratively convenient for Min’s presence never to be questioned by anyone from this point forward, the Wise Ones easily accept her as one of their own. Once I started noticing How Easy the narrative makes things for Min in her pursuit of Rand, it’s hard for me to stop noticing it lol. The Maidens let her walk in on Rand in his bath and wherever else she wants; the Wise Ones accept her as one of their own much more easily that we’ve seen them do with anyone else; no one expects her to become Aviendha’s first-sister and go through all the required trials before being romantic with Rand. She doesn’t need to try to adapt to Aiel culture in the slightest (as Elayne does), as all the Aiel are willing to bend over backwards for her instead, which is just... completely counter to how they behave in pretty much every other situation. All the obstacles that Elayne and Aviendha face in trying to be with Rand are completely non-existent for Rand and Min. But a big thing that draws me to pairings is their ability to OVERCOME those obstacles, so that’s probably a large part of why Rand x Min didn’t ever appeal to me as much as Rand x Elayne (dealing with conflicting duties) or Rand x Aviendha (dealing with differing cultural expectations). I have a hard time getting attached to pairings where the way for them is smoothed by the narrative, lol. I guess the ‘conflict’ in Rand x Min is supposed to be over which one of them cracks first and admits out loud that all the snuggling and kissing and teasing is a romantic relationship?

17. Oh. I almost forgot -- in addition to the paranoia and recklessness, Rand is also becoming more susceptible to flattery, because we learn that he does now believe Alviarin’s letter from the end of TFoH - he talks earlier about there being a faction of Aes Sedai ready to bend knee to him. So that’s three dangerous influences on his mental state. Plus he doesn’t eat or sleep enough and has Vaguely Ominous Warnings to deal with.

18. Rand is trying to figure out how to have Min around without revealing that she matters to him to the people around him who might take advantage of it. Rand notes that he’s more ill-tempered when she’s not around but that even she can’t pull him out of his depressions. The temper thing is ‘told’ here in the internal narration about Min, but we’ve actually seen it in action before with Elayne -- when Egwene accidentally riled up his temper at the start of TSR, Elayne talking to him cooled him down. Just her presence was soothing, iirc. So I assume that a similar thing is happening here.

19. Rand is still very attracted to Berelain (everyone is more horny in these later books) but is now blaming that all on LTT. So that’s getting worse, too, because earlier in the book, he was able to admit that he was the one who found Berelain attractive but now it’s Lews Therin who finds her attractive. And Min joins the group we like to call ‘All Wetlander Women Hate Berelain’. *annoyed sigh*

20. Even though Rand and Perrin have now both been in Cairhien together for ten days, that catch-up session that happened that first day with them hasn’t repeated and they have not been spending much time together, with Perrin blaming it on Rand being busy. This friendship is so casual and low-key compared to the intense... thing that Rand and Mat have going on, and it makes me sad all over again that Mat has left.

21. The Berelain-Faile nonsense has started and I am not going to waste my time talking about it. I will say this and only this, because it’s both the first and last thing that matters in this pointless storyline: “Berelain knew he was married, knew he loved his wife, and that should have been that” (especially since we already know from an earlier Min viewing that Berelain is going to fall in love with someone else later, so Berelain desperately chasing after a married man is EVEN MORE ridiculous than it might otherwise be). Wait. I will also point out that Berelain laughing and ignoring Perrin’s wishes that she stop being overly flirty with him is exactly what Min is doing in her “wear Rand down into admitting he wants to sleep with me” campaign. Now I’m done with the subject. Oh, wait, also go to AO3 and check out @lesbiancytherea‘s Berelain/Faile fic: The woman I have always desired to be mine.

22. Ah, yeah, and the whole reason that Rand is bothering to meet with Elaida’s delegation at all (when he gets taken) is because he’s trying to ‘even out’ the audiences that he had with the Salidar delegation. This is still all based on his panicked flight out of Caemlyn. And LTT keeps talking about needing to take care of Sammael but Demandred first. He sees the Aes Sedai alone because he’s been taking more and more risks even as he’s been getting more and more paranoid (it’s been stressing me out all book), and they’ve snuck their secret Aes Sedai sisters (too young to get the distinctive look) into the room, to shield him and take him. Galina takes over the embassy and the Red Ajah is in charge. Captive in that noble’s house, Rand has started to sink into a gray depression. But, yeah, remember way back when Aviendha made the Maidens promise to tell her all of Rand’s comings and goings and I said that just sounded like it would make Rand start to sneak off without his guards? Nandera tells us that he’s been doing just that. So that’s why the Maidens aren’t on instant high alert.

23 Wait... I’m kinda curious now what bizarre nonsensical way that Min is going to end up with Rand here, since she wasn’t with him when he was taken. For some reason, I’ve remembered (incorrectly) all this time that she was with him and that’s why she was taken along as well. lol, she “vanished” between the tents and the palace, we are told by Sorilea. Okay, my guess before I get to the chapter with the real reason: one of the Tower Aes Sedai randomly saw her in the streets and recognized her as fortune-telling Min and so she has conveniently been kidnapped along with Rand?

24. Mat has grown used to being called “Lord Cauthon”. It makes things easier in Ebou Dar, he thinks. Fewer challenges to duels. Ah, they are having Olver ‘pick up’ shameless flirting from Mat in this book, but it’s confined to “beautiful eyes” here. And even that much, Mat disapproves of him doing. And it’s fine for there to be ‘grown-up things’ that kids aren’t allowed to do? Mat isn’t evil for flirting with women while being In The Presence Of A Child.

25. As they search the endless streets and buildings, Elayne and Birgitte see a ‘Domani wilder’ healing someone. A Clue but they’re focused on their search, so they let it pass them by. And Elayne and Birgitte also spot Mat and Nalesean, who have been drawn to the correct spot at a useful time by Mat’s luck, but Elayne and Birgitte are trying to avoid them, so they hurry along. Because in their PoV, Mat is only here to get him out of Egwene’s way, not to actually be useful. Maybe this would be a better jumping off point for an AU than the earlier one I was thinking of. Marking it for later. (if anyone could literally walk into the correct building by accident...)

26. We do get the interesting mirroring here of the Salidar Aes Sedai keeping Logain under a shield even as the Tower’s Aes Sedai are keeping Rand under one. And this all reminds me of the excellent Logain scenes that we got in S1 of the show. Looking forward to more Logain, definitely. Egwene is trying to get Logain’s thoughts on Rand, the amnesty, and the madness. Egwene is startled when Logain angrily bursts out that of course he wishes “I were with [Rand] now!”

27. Egwene meets up with Elayne and Nynaeve in TAR. We learn here that Egwene HAS talked with the Aiel dreamwalkers (well, Bair and Melaine) and they told her that you can only use need to find a specific thing once (’like trying to eat the same apple twice’). Egwene notes (internally) that the dreamwalkers might be happy to teach her but they are telling her nothing about Rand anymore and have gotten very sour on the topic of Aes Sedai in general. For the first time in ages, Nynaeve stays alone in TAR to talk to Egwene, so that she can ask if there’s any news about Lan (there is not).

28. Because she’s realized that the Hall is going to vote to gentle Logain, Egwene’s arranged to secretly have him freed.

29. Elsewhere in the camp, Lan arrives and Myrelle is waiting to meet him. We’re told that this (like Alanna’s forced bonding of Rand) is also considered awful and out-of-bounds, passing a Warder’s bond along to another Aes Sedai without his permission. Ugh, the way she thinks about him here: “a wolfhound mourning his dead mistress did not come to a new mistress willingly”. So she compels him to obey (which is what Alanna has tried and failed to do with Rand).

30. Back in Perrin’s PoV, Rand has been missing six days. Min is also missing. “he could feel Rand’s need like an itch everywhere under his skin”. Yeah, much less evocative and coded romantic than how Mat described it, lol. We also learn here that the Aes Sedai left three days ago, so Rand is three days out from Cairhien and heading towards the White Tower. They find out that Rand is truly missing from two people: Lord Dobraine has come to warn them about two Lords being murdered and Lady Colavaere doing some suspiciously political dinners; and Belelain has found Rand’s sword and Dragon belt buckle, left behind. Sulin INSTANTLY realizes upon seeing Aviendha’s two gifts to Rand that this means he has been stolen away and has not left of his own accord and she calls him her “first-brother”. The privacy thing I will always have issues with, but they really do love him so much. She is DONE with being a servant, she must SAVE HER BROTHER. Also, we can count Dobraine as very firmly Rand’s man.

31. lol “Perrin liked to think things through; when you were hasty, you could hurt people without meaning to”. Perrin really is just as self-deceiving as Mat or Nynaeve, I swear. He manages to think this literally moments after he has flown off the handle to scream at Berelain for simply entering the room. I actually have some thoughts maybe about how all three of the guys’ plotlines are representing PTSD, but I feel like that meta has probably been written years ago lol.

32. Yes, Min has been captured by Galina. We aren’t told who/how they took her, but apparently her knife skills weren’t as up to the task as she thought they would be when she was showing off to Rand earlier in the book; the fact that Jordan doesn’t even bother to tell us how she was captured does kinda make me laugh. And it is because Galina apparently recognized her from when she was hanging out with Nynaeve and Egwene, and knows they’re connected to Rand, of course, and now she’s hanging out in the same city as Rand so, you know, clear connection there. When Rand saw that Min was there in the camp, he went so wild with rage that he killed one Warder directly and another one died from the shock of being Healed. There are 39 total Aes Sedai in the group that is holding Rand captive. Rand’s treatment at the hands of the Tower Aes Sedai in this section really is truly horrific. Each blow that they hit against him firms his resolve to never trust another Aes Sedai. It is in Rand’s PoV that we learn that Sevanna and the Shaido Wise Ones are hanging out with this group (though we saw the bargain being made earlier in the book).

33. But, yeah, Min being here really does make me very ??? at why she’s exempt from being protected from Rand’s danger-aura in the future by being send away from him. Being close to him literally got her kidnapped; she was targeted exactly the way he was afraid that Elayne or Aviendha or the Two Rivers would be if he let people see that he cared about them.

34. Rand has another two-way conversation with Lews Therin, and he asks if they can work together. After a moment, LTT agrees. Rand tries to plan out a way to pretend to be broken so that they will stop holding him so hard, so that they will tie off the weave that’s shielding him instead of maintaining it. Galina’s goal for Rand: “when she brought him to the White Tower, he would kiss Elaida’s ring, speak when spoken to and kneel in the corner when he was not wanted”. She wants him to be damane, essentially.

35. ALL of the Maidens wanted to come, but got restricted to a thousand, as every Maiden leaving the city would make it very very obvious to the Aiel that Rand was in grave danger. There are also five-thousand other Aiel, ninety-four Wise Ones (”the strongest in the One Power near the city”; and ALL of the Wise Ones wanted to come as well, but they only let the strongest come. And Sorilea), five hundred of Lord Dobraine’s men, and two hundred of Berelain’s.

36. And when they rest for the night, Perrin calls out for the wolves to come and help them rescue Rand. Just as Mat reached a peak of a kind in this book (he’s very firmly Rand’s general, and loyal to him); so does Perrin, in being able to take command here to lead the rescue to save Rand without second-guessing himself or his willingness to lead. Which uh, makes it unfortunate that there are so many books remaining, because there’s only one direction for them to go.

37. I love the evocative descriptions of the wolves’ names. Gorgeous imagery. “Two Moons was really a night-shrouded pool, smooth as ice in the instant before the breeze stirred, with a tang of autumn in the air, and one moon hanging full in the sky and another reflected so perfectly in the water that it was difficult to tell which was real”. We also learn here that wolves can sense channelers. And the wolves are PISSED when they learn that Rand (”Shadowkiller”) has been caged and the word is passed around from pack to pack and “several hundred” are coming to help.

38. So, with the siswai’aman, we learn from Perrin’s smell-o-vision that they are jealous of the Maidens, while the Maidens are possessive of what they have -- obviously, this is about their connection to Rand, though Perrin doesn’t realize that. They are all devoted enough to Rand to be willing to fight Aes Sedai in order to try to save him, which most of the Aiel are not willing to do.

39. Seven days into chasing after Rand (so Rand has been captive 13 days total), Perrin learns (via the wolves) that they’re running into the Two Rivers’ men. Honestly, it actually kinda annoys me that Perrin did not bring Tam or even tell him Rand needed him (because he knew from the start that Rand was ‘tugging’ him away into his duties)? That’s his son. He doesn’t even know that Rand is the Dragon Reborn! Anyway, Verin and Alanna are here, as well as seven others, so three more than the six that Rand said were allowed to follow him to Cairhien.

40. So now three hundred Two Rivers archers, nine Aes Sedai, and sixteen Warders have been added to the army. So, if I were writing this in a way to make it so that more characters could rescue Rand... Perrin would be coming with the archers, and you would have Mat with this main army here (and the Band), marching from Cairhien. Can’t think of any easy way for Egwene, Nynaeve, or Elayne/Aviendha to be there though. It would need to be BEFORE Mat was sent to try to get Elayne to go to Caemlyn. But, of course, any changes here would depend on earlier changes as well, which I can’t predict. If Elayne and Nynaeve aren’t at Salidar at this point, then they could potentially end up in Cairhien or Caemlyn and thus go along. Though it probably wouldn’t make narrative sense for Egwene to be present, since she and Rand are supposed to be pulling apart at this point. Again, depending on how the storyline is going.

41. lol, yep, Gawyn will Technically Keep His Word to Egwene by not physically raising a hand against Rand personally, but not keep the spirit of his word, since he is helping to enable great harm to happen to Rand and is very aware Egwene would not be thrilled. Once again, Gawyn straddles that fence between two sides and tries to help both and neither at the same time.

42. Rand has been memorizing each woman that has taken her turn at beating him. Galina, Erian, and Katerine are the three that have done so more than once. He’s still desperately feeling along the shield and hoping that they will tie it off instead of holding it.

43. Pretty much all of Perrin’s allies all hate each other -- but they are all determined to save Rand, even if they die in the effort. Why doesn’t Perrin understand why the Aes Sedai have to go into the battle in order to fight? He was with Alanna and Verin and I’m sure they told him that they actually need to be threatened in order to help? Didn’t they? Maybe they didn’t, since they were fighting Shadowspawn. Hmm. The battle itself is pretty good -- it doesn’t go into too much gory detail but we get enough of what is happening to understand the story of the battle.

44. Taim and the Asha’man arrive via Gateways and level the playing field against the Tower Aes Sedai and the Shaido. That is... convenient timing. But we’ll see if Taim says how he knew to come.

45. As the battle rages, four of the Aes Sedai holding him have to tie off their part of the shield to join the battle, leaving only two actively holding on. He unravels three of the knots -- another Sister starts actively holding again, but he is able to burst through the shield of the three Sisters holding him before they can bring someone else into the shield to hold him. Min is magically unharmed by the chest exploding to free him because of course she is. Rand stilled all three of the Sisters who were still holding onto the shield when Rand blew it apart. Anyway, Rand promises to protect Min and she’s officially his Damsel Figure now, I guess, and the Damsel-fication of Min that has been slowly occurring over the course of the last couple of books is feels like it’s starting to reach Peak Damsel. Will this be her exemption clause out of his general “must keep everyone I care about far away from me if possible” attitude, because helpless damsels can’t be allowed to wander around on their own lest they tragically die as they are wont to do? I guess I will find out.

46. Rand starts picking out the Tower Aes Sedai and shielding them. When “Lews Therin” thinks that he wanted Erian, Katerine, and Galina ‘especially’, Rand denies that the thought could have come from him, despite the fact that it obviously did. He takes down Sister after Sister, but doesn’t see Galina (though he did get Erian and Katerine).

47. Rand and Gawyn are briefly confronted with each other; Gawyn asks Min to come with him to safety, she refuses and tells him that Elayne loves Rand. Gawyn leaves, swearing that one day he will see Rand die.

48. Ah, Taim says they were able to show up because he had “reason to be in Cairhien”. That is... very thin, but Rand isn’t really in a state of mind to challenge it. Taim offers to heal him and Rand refuses, thinking that if Taim touches him with the Power, however innocently, Rand won’t be able to stop himself from killing him.

49. When Rand sees Perrin arrive, he has to stop himself from looking around to see if Mat is there too. Oh, buddy, I wish he were.

50. When the Salidar Aes Sedai come to Rand, to try to tell him about rescuing him, he orders them to join the Tower Aes Sedai. They also disobeyed his commands -- they brought nine Sisters when he said to bring six -- and he has absolutely zero trust left for any Aes Sedai at the moment in time. So he orders them to kneel, and Taim enforces it. It’s a big contrast to the triumphant (with warning tones) ending of TFoH -- this is somber and ominous. Technically, Rand has won... after being caged and beaten nearly two weeks, after watching a horrific slaughter (which feels probably like an illusion to the invention of modern guns being able to cause carnage on the battlefield?). The Aes Sedai kneel and swear to Rand (I will note that Rand’s aversion IS limited to Aes Sedai and not female channelers in general; this event doesn’t make him start mistrusting the Wise Ones, for example).

51. In the epilogue, Rand’s philosopher friend is killed, conveniently creating a ‘job opening’ for the next book for Rand to get a ‘new’ philosopher ‘friend’. I actually did like Herid, though I disliked him being yet another Old Dude who is super into Girls Young Enough To Be His Granddaughter, like Thom was in TDR/TSR (though luckily Thom... grew out of it? before Elayne’s inexplicable crush on him).

52. Aran’gar frees Moghedien and Egwene wonders if Logain did it. Anyway, Moghedien has been summoned to Shayol Ghul. Right now in SG, the Great Lord is praising Demandred for “doing well” at “letting the lord of chaos rule”, which sadly is a tiny scene that makes no sense after the upcoming change to Demandred’s plot/location lol. Oh well. And the book ends on the Dark One laughing.

So, LoC is a pretty good book but I would not say it’s as good at TFoH. Better than TSR though (Perrin and Faile keep TSR from being better than LoC, I would say). In TFoH, any issues I had were super-minor and one of the main things that bugged me throughout the book -- everyone and their sister bullying Nynaeve -- ends with Nynaeve getting to triumph over Moghedien in the end. LoC, though, has some sections where it just felt like nothing much was happening, plus I learned that I... actually dislike Rand/Min? Before this reread, it was my least favorite of the Rand pairings but I DID like it okay. But this time, really digging into it, there’s just a lot of ‘yikes’ there for how much Min was willing to warp her personality, behavior, and looks in order to try to appeal to Rand and win him. Ironically, I’m actually super into Powered/Unpowered pairings, where one person is ‘mundane’/’normal’ and the other is magical in some way, all the way back to my love for Clark Kent & Lois Lane. But Min is... Min is no Lois Lane. I’ll leave it at that, lol.

Again, I DO think the show has lots of opportunity to improve the Rand x Min pairing to make it feel less ‘yikes’. If we can avoid the ringlets and the simpering on Rand’s lap to try to get him to admit he wants to bang her, I would be thrilled lol. And making it so that all the relationships get more equal ‘face time’ would also be an improvement.

Since (imo) we have entered the beginnings of The Slog, I am going to keep track of Sloggy Things. Two main things.

The first being -- how long does it take plotlines to resolve?

In the previous books, all main plotlines were resolved by the ending of the book -- they get to the Eye of the World in EotW, everyone goes to Falme and the Horn is used in TGH and the dagger has been retrieved, everyone makes it to Tear in TDR and Rand is officially proclaimed as the Dragon Reborn. It gets a little more complicated in TSR, because there are more storylines at play, but Perrin defends the Two Rivers, Rand becomes the Car’a’carn, and Elayne and Nynaeve get (and dispose of) the Sad bracelets. In TFoH, Couladin gets taken care of (which is both Mat and Rand’s plotline) and Rand takes control of Cairhien, and Elayne and Nynaeve get to Salidar. Egwene doesn’t really have a ‘plotline’ of her own in the first five books, though she tags along on other people’s -- but she’s getting a lot of training instead and also has some Traumatic Events happen to her that shape her perspective of the world.

Now we get to LoC. The goals of the characters:

Rand & Mat - take care of Sammael in Illian. NOT completed by the end of the book and entirely canceled for Mat. First time Rand has not completed the proposed plot of his book.

Perrin - do a ta’veren thing for Rand. COMPLETED! (but also much shorter PoV-wise than Rand’s incompleted arc)

Egwene, Nynaeve, and Elayne are all mostly chilling and waiting for a plotline to start for them in this book but we do open up the new plot threads for A Crown of Swords near the end of the book. Min’s only goal is to get Rand to have sex with her, but that is also uncompleted in this book I guess, lol. And Mat gets a new task assigned to him by Rand. I guess... technically, Elayne and Nynaeve’s ‘purpose’ this book was to get the Salidar Aes Sedai to side with Rand, so that is definitely NOT completed. But this goal also seems to get canceled when Egwene takes over, and the new goal is to march on Tar Valon and confront Elaida.

So, these are the tasks that are being set up to be completed in ACoS:

Rand - take care of Sammael in Illian (2/?)

Mat - escort Elayne to Caemlyn and watch her become queen (1/?)

Perrin - ???? Rand wants him to help with Sammael but who knows? (I mean, it’s a reread, so I actually do know, but it’s not said in this book lol)

Egwene - get to the White Tower and challenge Elaida (1/?)

Nynaeve & Elayne - get the Bowl of Winds and fix the weather (1/?); they also believe this will... somehow???... help the Salidar Aes Sedai to side with Rand.

And the second thing being -- how many times do we get unnecessary scenes/plotlines?

Which I will define either as scenes that are pointless (like the Berelain-Faile jealousy stuff which has already been shown pointless because of Min’s viewing that Berelain is going to fall in love with someone else entirely, so why are we wasting time on her trying to chase Perrin) or repetitive scenes that give us no new information.

Many of the earlier Salidar PoVs in LoC feel this way to me, like they could have been condensed into fewer sections, like Perrin’s were, and I believe this is definitely something that will get worse in future books (pretty sure the vast majority of one of the future books is like this lol). Jordan needed a stronger hand on the editor’s pen, someone willing to ask him “do we really need this scene or are you just trying to show off your worldbuilding?”

I’ll try to keep track of this one as I go, and then tote it up at the end of each book.

Whoops almost forgot after October I decided to post short movie review on here for each months movies I watch

Novembers list will be much shorter and much worse than Octobers i don't know if it is bad luck or it is just that i lost just wasn't feeling it most of November.

I will format it so that it is readable this time i promise. expect some small spoilers

Class of Nuke em High 3/10

I watched a couple of Troma movies and enjoyed them during October this is where that luck ended.

It had some fun 80s punk aesthetics and the monster design was not bad in the end

but I don't recommend this one

Book Of Monsters 6/10

Book of Monsters is about a girl whos mother was killed by monsters when she was younger and it turns out she was a monster hunter with a whole book about those monsters and their weaknesses

and then they never utilize this plot device to it's potential if they did some fairy tale like passages or rhymes out of the book describing the lore of each monster this movie it would have taken this movie to the next level.

the monster designs are hit and miss but mostly hits and good ones at that.

Jabberwocky 6/10

I went into this one pretty blind I must admit I was not expecting it to be an early Monty Python movie.

It is not as comical or well put together as Holy Grail but it is honestly a legitimately decent fantasy movie and it should be on more fantasy movie lists people are missing out on this one.

there is someone shitting or pissing in almost every scene.

Beyond Re-Animator 7/10

i finished the trilogy and I enjoyed it. once again this series provides very good practical effects

I won't spoil much but some rat dna gets into the mix with the formula to revive the dead and while no one physically turns into a big rat monster but I think it still adds a lot of fun to this movie

Herbert West gets a new sidekick that should know better than to work with this man.

apparently there are more movies in the series but eh...

SPOILERS- I watched the mid/after credits scene with the rat fighting the animated severed penis and it is less gross than you imagine and so fun it honestly makes the whole movie on it's own.

Digging Up The Marrow 6/10

a documentary style Horror movie where they interview a suspicious elderly man about an underground city of monsters he believes exists

this movie makes some fun stylistic choices and is surprisingly compelling.

Phantasm III and V 6/10

I watched more of the Phantasm series that was available at the time it seems Tubi has uploaded more since but I already watched it way out of order

anyway tho the budget gets lower and the acting worse this series still offers good practical effects and an intimidating villain

Possum 4/10

Chillerama N/A

I could not finish this one and I will not recommend this Horror/comedy compilation

It is designed to be edgy and offensive

on the plus side most of what i saw was well made and had good designs.

a movie about a doctor helping a family deal with a parasitic nightmare demon

tbh that description seems inaccurate and she seems like a bad doctor.

i could not finish this one and here is my warning on that

CONTAINS- a person sticking there hand in a blender ( no injury) and one brutal animal death scene all for shock value.

Wicked City 6/10

I went into this one expecting a bloody 80s horror anime with a bunch of nudity

but I think It is more like a heavily christian themed hentai but if Christianity was about psychic powers and creating peace through monster fucking

most of the sex scenes are meant to horrify not titillate and not because of the monster fucking that is unrelated.

contains a very annoying version of master Roshi from Dragonball

I know this all sounds bad and like i hate the movie but it does have very good art

The Bone Snatcher 5/10

Hawk The Slayer 5/10

this was a passable fantasy movie and it is likely the last major sword and sorcery movie from the 80s that i will see I might track a few more down but thats is mostly extra now.

the story, the acting, the costuming and the practical effects budget are all just for the most part not very good

This is a typical fantasy where warriors from the various fantasy races come together to defend against evil we have two humans, an elf, a dwarf, and a giant but the budget is low so they mostly just look like normal humans with normal height differences

But I do enjoy the witch character and this movie features one of my low key favorite actors Peter O'Farrel who other notable fantasy roles include one of the goblins in Legend and motherfucking ODO from the Darkest Knight

I recommend watching those movies if you haven't seen them and probably watching the Darkest Knight series which i have not done yet

Hellarious 7/10

I recommend seeing this horror comedy compilation instead of chillerama.

there are 7 stories they are all very simple and lower budget but I guarantee at least one of them will suit every horror taste

I like the first couple stories best anyway go in blind don't spoil this one.

it was bold of this movie to start with the protagonist being bullied by like 15 people at once until they accidentally put her in a coma and then expect us to not side with her supernatural revenge

tho here methods for taking that revenge were very strange.

I wish this movie was as cool as the post/cover makes it look

Phenomena 5/10

this one is about a girl with a psychic connection with insects which she uses to solve murders and intimidate her bullies which seem to include almost everyone.

the people in this movie act very strange I think it might be an issue with script translating the scipt.

the insect power does not play as big of a role as they should and are mostly about flies and maggots which I do understand since they are all real insects which was very ambitious and must have taken a lot of time and attempts just to get those insects to do what they wanted

this movie has a chimp that did bite the leading actress and that did not need to happen this movie did not need a chimp.

Zombie Strippers 5/10

this movie is exactly what you expect with the exception that it does include a hostile conservative takeover of the government

and the military is at fault for there being zombie strippers

if the comedy and horror elements of a movie about zombie strippers sounds like something you would like then watch it if it sounds like you would hate it then do not watch it, whatever your gut feeling for yourself on this one is you are correct

Robot Carnival 8/10

this was a beautiful anime movie compilation of stories all about robots it is pure art and at time pure nightmare

anyway going down the rabbit hole of artsy mostly forgotten old anime movies after this one.

2001 Maniacs 6/10

SPOILERS- a group of young tourists take a detour on their way to spring break and end up forced to except the hospitality of the very southern town they end up in after following this detour sign

anyway the towns people are all racist cannibals planning to kill the springbreakers

MATH + DEEP SPOILERS- the evil towsnfolks plan will take hundreds of years if no more than 6 people show up per year just saying

Evolution (2015) 4/10

watch 2001's American evolution movie instead of this they are unrelated but I am giving you my honest recommendation

Two Evil Eyes 6/10

not the best Edgar Allen Poe adaptation but it is a good one

Piranha Women 3/10

basically a low budget scifi channel movie, from the title you might expect a more traditional piranha fish people transformation and a lot of underwater scenes.....

but nope it is mostly on dry land and the women have piranha mouths on their breasts

Necromancer 3/10

imagine they took Hellraiser and took out all the beautiful practical effects away and decided it needed more uncomfortable late 70s style sex scenes like the one in Hellraiser we all forget about

but then also being almost SFW

ironically contains no real necromancy just a demon that can imitate people that make a deal with her but with nasty red hands

Okay... First of all, I know I don't owe anyone any explanations, but, the support you given my fics - content has been too much, That in my opinion you deserve an explanation of why I have disappeared as a good Latinoamérican father... (Those from Latam will understand me)...

Where to start...? Cause actually there have been several things.. in this months everything has happened to me... I moved, I found out that you don't have to eat salmon to get salmonella (Oh but what a dirty [rancid] joke), What else... I got a job with the excuse that this would give me a reason to get out of bed (spoiler alert, it and continues to work, there's times when the action becomes a livid hell, This I'll explain later), the doctora detected me thyroid... so... I cried... I really cried a lot, I started a legal process against the medical system of my small town for medical negligence....I cried again, my mom almost kicked me out, so... I had a depressive episode (self injury) after 4 "healthy" years... But despite this, there was something "good after all" because i had found and And I swear (I know it will sound stupid and maybe it is) that I didn't know that platonic - romantic - reciprocal love could be so beautifully healthy... But just as I experienced - I went through a stage that I wanted to live at least once in my life, I also learned that communication is much more important than it seems and even more so if this relationship is through to long distance, I also understood that these kinds of relationships are too complicated, It requires extreme patience, COMMUNICATION again, clear love and a maturity that probably not all of us have at the moment. Soooo, again, this relationship isn't for everyone and I include myself in it...Tbh, I don't think I would like to have to go through that again, however, I learned a lot in the Process... Process that like everything in this life naturally ended I'll not inquire further into that since I think I already said what I had to say and by that I mean "COMMUNICATION" and for respect... No... I pray and ask whoever listens to me, Any deity that exists or if it exists, that the sentence of Nicolás Maduro is at least half as terrible long as his government term was..

And well, to finish this explanation that seems more like a mediocre attempt to show pity... I moved for who the h*ll know what number of times... So now I find myself living in Cuba and fresh out, healed, sewn up and more doped than I came in...

Is there any lesson or reflection that lrs wants to leave with this? No... Diamond! Gym 2!

16th March

Ah grass types! They are my absolute favourite but all types really aren't made equally. Spoilers, Gardenia is by no means a challenge.

But first off time to leave oreburgh. Bidoof eveolves inot Bibarel in Juilife city against the plasma grunts. A few rollouts solves that fight.

I then move north to floroma town and the valley wind works where a famously tough battle exists. The grunts pose no threats and aren't an issue but purugly is dangerous. Fortunately I gather a few useful things. I get a chesto berry from the various patches around. Annoying theres only one per plant at the moment but its all I need. I also catch a shellos from Valley windworks!

It has a brilliant ability and the naive nature which tbh is by no means a bad thing. Tbh I hate this form of shallos the west form is so much nicer to look at but unfortunately thats how the game works. Anyway as I level shellos to 16 on bidoofs to boost its hp shellos learns hidden power psychic! Which is pretty perfect for beating zubats!

So with that I head to Valley windworks to take on Mars. Fortunately all goes as planned! Shellos goes against Zubat and a hidden power removes it. I stay in to get off 2 mud slaps to lower accuracy on scratch. I know it has faint attack but the more the better. I switch to Monferno a scratch misses. I use rock smash doing a good amount of damage not enough for me to OHKO though I do activate its oran berry but then it gets a critical hit on scratch as I go for a Leer! Monferno goes down to 7hp!

Now Wu kong doesn't outspeed but does have mach punch. Its whether it one shots. If I fail this I lose monferno. After some calculations I discover that mach punch should one shot if both IVs are perfect. I go for it and Purugly does finally go down. Hairy but impossible today. It will be harder next time.

Next up is route 205 and some of my favourite route music in this game followed by eterna forest where I get another (possibly unnessecary) encounter in Wurmple. I quickly evolve it and it becomes a beautifly!

I spell its name wrong and it has a Naughty nature which is a bit naff but it is very welcome as a back up against Gardenia!

I have no troubles with eterna forest and use cheryl to level up my pokemon loads. I also have a little foray inot the underground which again is a great little feature. I get a skull fossil, some heart scales and I get super lucky digging up a fire plate! To be fair I was down there a while but critical role keeps me occupied. Then its time for Gardenia!

Honestly, this is possibly the easiest battle I have had so far. RNG was massively in my favour. I start with beautifly against Cherubi and gust twice to win. It does get leech seed off so I switch into monferno as Gardenia's turtwig uses reflect annoyingly. Fortunately I get a critical hit flame wheel finishing it off and bringing in the scary Roserade. Roserade uses stun spore which frightens me slightly as I gave the cheri berry to beautifly. I go for Flame wheel again and its another OHKO critical hit! I can't believe my luck as I win the battle basically taking no damage!

With that I'm onto the long stretch of the game before Maylene and the annoying Maylene Wake level cap balancing act. Not sure if there are any encounters I want until then so hopefully nothing terrible happens before them. Looking at my team Crasher Wake is going to be a real challenge.

Sooooo whatya think of the new episodeee?

Oh it’s definitely my favorite episode of the series so far, i was having such a good time at every turn. I’m glad i went out of my way to avoid spoilers, cause i was glad to actually be surprised by some elements on first watch.

I think this had by far the best opening for an episode so far, we finally get back to the villians, we meet the coven heads, we get insight on belos’s plans-

and then belos gets constipated, which starts getting into the more character driven lore, which is the best part. You instantly can tell GG and Kiki have some bit of tension between them to be Belo’s favorite, though granted i wonder if hunter is the only one to know belos is cursed and actually just always insists to help belos with his fits to prevent others from seeing them.

Including kiki.

It’s honestly unclear how aware anyone is that belos is cursed, like him eating pailsmans is apparently not something he hides, but like....i feel him being cursed is something that people would know universally if it got out...so i’m left wondering if anyone knows besides hunter.

Regardless, belos turns into a goop monster with an angry side, and i guess his mask doesn’t transform with him compared to the rest of his body so he breaks it again because i guess he goes though masks like crazy.

Hunter turns away in this scene from his outburst and even though he’s masked here i can already tell he’s most likely pained in these scenes. Like he’s probably seen this happen so many times, and i can’t imagine it gets any easier for him, it’s probably awful to watch belos suffer like this for him (Regardless of the abuse)

And to be honest, it seems pretty painful for him, i think this ep seems to at least confirm whatever this thing is that takes over belos’s body.....belos never actually wanted it in the first place.

Yeah so after Hunter tells belos there’s not enough trees to medicate him anymore, we’re hit with the “UNCLE”. Which, when i first watched it i needed a second to even process the fact they confirmed their relation.

and i was like “CLOSE ENOUGH”, not his kid but uncle still works just fine for me, i’m just happy my assumption they were related actually came to ahead.

And i rewatched this episode a few times, and on second watch i realized more what happened in this scene. Hunter was talking about his interest in wild magic, and making more pailsman to help belos, and some method that could heal him and as soon as belos looked at him he instantly shut down.

He was clearly rambling about wild magic cures for belos because of his interest in it, and then suddenly remembered his uncle hates wild magic and felt super awkward.

It seems highly likely his interest in wild magic came from trying to cure belos and spending a lot of time reading up on the stuff.

And then we get hit with the whole “Our family is dead because of wild magic” line, which.....i’m curious to know what happened there. But it does at least explain why belos feels how he does, if wild magic both killed his family beside hunter AND cursed him in the first place. We’re just gonna need more info on what exactly happened.

Also while Belos is def abusive and does not treat hunter how he should, this scene actually does read off to me like belos does care about hunter to some degree. If belos is cursed and his curse works in similar ways to how Eda’s curse works, then it’s worth reminding ppl that eda mentions early this season how stress can amplify the curse even more.

And sure enough, belos goes goopy on hunter’s shoulder all of a sudden when he grasps him. Which could be considered a sign of stress and that the idea of hunter dying or being in danger actually does stress him.

You could very much also assume this is just due to his curse not being fully handled and just getting worse, or that belos only cares about hunter for selfish reasons....but i’m not taking anything off the table here.

Belos can still be a shitty uncle, and still care about hunter, these aren’t mutually exclusive traits. But we need more episodes for now on this.

But anyways he asks hunter if he can rely on him, kiki is pissed......and we move on.

So i’m glad luz’s impulsiveness is addressed a ton in this episode, they actually bring up a lot of good points. That luz has no plan, that the time she’s spending here might render moot if she goes back to earth, ect ect.

Hunter even calls her out a lot later for not thinking things through, it’s a whole deal in this episode. I’m glad it was brought up cause it’s actually worth asking a lot of these things.

the set up here works, they actually made a good reason for why a pailsman didn’t bond with her. Speaking of which the adoption thing is cute and i love it, it’s a great idea. The designs are all very cute and fun.

Bump face reveal was a lot for me to process, but i find the idea of his pailsman being a pet that can help with his disabilities a good idea.

Also like, i did find it odd that they got staffs so early because we’ve never seen kids their ages with them before, but i guess it’s a new tradition? Does everyone at hexside now have one?

Honesty not sure why batqueen left the nest there overnight, i meant i guess she assumed they were safe with that shield but in context i dunno why she didn’t take them home after the school day was over.

but whatever, luz stays there overnight hoping a pailsman will bond with her and GG just kidnapps them cause of pure luck on his part a bunch of pailsman were in a vulnerable spot tonight.

So GG continues to be charming, by whistling the theme song and then being blasted off his ship hilariously, before cockily teleporting himself right back on it seconds later. Like he and luz have great banter, he’s so extra like this it’s so funny, and god he’s so FAST with that staff it’s scary but so awesome.

Yeah so then hand dragon crashes them and i was so excited cause it meant face reveal. Poor dude looked so in pain and then we find out kiki tried to effing murder him because of course she did. But like, i think killing your boss’s nephew is the WORST way to get a promotion tbh.

(Also i got confused for a bit cause his mask has always been drawn as a mask, but now it’s a helmet in this scene for whatever reason but-)

Anyways, face reveal, Like honestly ppl weren’t too far off with their guesses, really the only thing people didn’t get was the tooth gap (That was fair tho, we couldn’t have guessed that). But it did make him even cuter.

like the banter is funny, he licks her hand, she slaps him, he looks SO pissed at her for this mess.

and i guess that outfit is his under armor apparently.

He’s lucky she didn’t run away immediately and followed him, but maybe he assumed she would since she had no where else to go.

Also his expressions in this ep are glorious, these had to be fun to draw.

Also we find out that the coven team members have never seen his face i guess? They just assume he’s a silly kid and are awful to him, so i guess he’s not only the youngest member of the coven but he never really shows his face much.

(”Call your parents”, ha ha.....whose gonna tell them who his uncle is?)

He is however, REALLY good at parkour and he’s fast even without his staff, so he’s well trained alright.

And then they reveal he’s not magical and i was SO happy cause i was so sure something was up when he wasn’t doing magic like the other witches despite his pointy ears. So they outright confirmed what i thought.

Hunter is pretty smart tho, like he can tell luz wouldn’t hurt him and wouldn’t flee so he knows he has the high ground here. Like he might be being a bit of a dick, but to be fair luz has been nothing but a dick to him throughout the whole episode (Everyone in this episode has been a dick to him tbh)

They team up and i get excited cause i love this kinda stuff and it gets more wholesome because hunter is super interested in her magic, he thinks it’s cool and you can tell how much he actually loves wild magic but then again...shuts himself down because of belos making him fear the stuff.

An then because luz asks, he tells her his backstory.

honestly with how this world treats people who aren’t magically powerful, living and growing up in a world that would find you useless sounds....awful. Hunter must be an anomaly around here, human blood or not.

Luz coming here to learn is different then growing up in a world and being the only one with no abilities and no future without them. Belos provides him with magic and a future, it’s no wonder he stays with him despite everything.

the whole “Found me” thing is weird, cause belos implies they’re blood related and hunter makes it sound like belos semi-adopted him. Which....if he did i dunno why “Uncle” and not “Adopted dad”, but ok....guess that’s for later.

Apparently hunter is important for something tho with the “Titan has big plans for me” thing, not sure what, but-

But yeah as soon as Hunter talked about wanting to make his own future and Rascal tried to land on him i knew EXACTLY where this was going, it was so cuteeeeee. The lil birb wanted to be with hunter, that’s so wholesome.

And he’s so terrified because of belos and what wild magic did to him, the poor bab.

But yeah, luz then trusts him with his staff back, because again....impulsive. But hunter does actually ask if she’s sure, so he might as well be asking if she trusts him.

The plan goes ahead, and hunter nearly betrays her.

though granted, hunter never promised her he’d stop and let her take them away, the truce was supposed to last till kiki was stopped and they were gonna fight out who got the pailsman. But it does bother luz cause she was hopeful he was better then this.

But just like he did before, she calls him out and he doesn’t betray her, because he’s ALSO too nice to do it, just like he said she was. He says his name (Which also took a moment to process), and then beats the crap out of kiki while letting luz get away and protecting her like a badass.

He might not have magic, but he’s good at fighting

like he can easily teleport to luz and take the pailsman, but he doesn’t, he lets them get away and luz knows this. Even though she also knows hunter has to go back to the emperor too and they have to separate.

It’s only slightly bitter terms, because in the end he came through for her and she knows it.

honestly, the worst part is i can’t even be mad at hunter for it, i’m sure he was terrified to fail belos. Both because he loves him and doesn’t want him to suffer....but also because of well...being punished. Really says something when his near betrayal doesn’t even make me mad at him, and i can understand why he nearly did it.

He let her go, knowing he’d be in SERIOUS trouble and that it would hurt someone he actually loves, so....ouch.

so yeah at this point i knew rascal wanted him so it was only of matter of what happened next.

Which was, luz getting the wood, which i like more anyway. Eda and King doing this offscreen and coming home like this is actually very funny, and honestly i appreciate the message of it being ok to wait.....means a lot to me.

yeah so belos is like...being an ass, like the kid tried his hardest, you don’t need to hit him with the “Is this the thanks i get?”. He’s a kid and he’s trying to cure you you dick, give him a break he doesn’t remotely have to help you like this.

Also apparently belos has not even told hunter HOW this happened, like...dude. Hunter is trying to be entirely reasonable here and belos spikes at him, which does imply some physical abuse though the only reason hunter doesn’t get a new scar is because he moves.

but how he reacts implies this has happened before, he is bracing for impact and he flinches. It’s pretty sad tbh, especially since hunter loves him and belos’s respect means something to him.

Belos is such an idiot, like c’mon dude, hunter is trying to help you and you don’t listen to him you dick. Kid shouldn’t have to say sorry for anything he did nothing wrong, he was just trying to help.

Anyways, he gloats at kiki (So at the very least she knows what he looks like under the mask), which he deserves a chance to do anyway. So i guess he didn’t rat her out for trying to kill him, personally my guess why is blackmail.....he was gonna hold it over her head to keep her from doing it again and threaten to tell belos.

But kiki quickly tells he LET the pailsman get away since he was the one to fight her (Curse his cute loose hair strand). So i guess now they have dirt on each other, so that’s fun.

His room is adorable, though the med kit by the bed is concerning.

Rascal comes for him and it;s so cute....though you can tell hunter nearly hurts him on instinct because of force of habit, but it’s so cute how he cares and how the birb loves him and is his new staff.

it was well hinted to as well, it’s so subtle, but the bird being cheery, curious, and his constant habit of escaping boundaries was perfect for hunter. He represents what hunter wants to be and why they got matched is done so well, all without explaining anything.

Hunter indirectly stated his deepest wish, to make his own choices, and rascal resonated with that.

can’t wait to see where this goes.
