What sucks is that I can feel that a major split in the fandom is probably inevitable now

I guess this is doomposting but I can already see it happening

idk, I'm gonna support the workers in any case

I don't particularly care about the current argument over the union, it's pure distraction to shift the discussion away from the actual problems, as if anyone here actually cares about the union and not just what the union can possibly facilitate

But I do care about the employees and former employees of QSMP and they deserve respect and dignity and credit, not slander or vague passive-aggressive accusations

Which I've unfortunately seen even from people I know and care about, even people I follow or used to follow here on Tumblr, even people I consider friends

So, I feel like I should just be honest here, idk how I'm gonna handle this diplomatically in order not to burn too many bridges unnecessarily, because I don't actually want to lose people over this, but I do also have principles

I had no animosity towards Quackity before this, I hope you can see that from my blog history; I've never been a cc!Quackity hater. Unfortunately at this point I do need to see him do better than this, because his employees and former employees deserve better

If he does actually try to make it all up for them, if he actually talks to them with respect and a willingness to listen to their concerns and their experiences, then I have no more beef with him

I don't think he's a bad person, but he is doing a bad thing

i don't think he ever would. N is a naturally very nice and forgiving person, specially so to a fault. i really don't think he holds/held a grudge against her or V for the way they've treated him prior to his meeting with uzi. the most negative we've gotten was his "J, you're sometimes kinda mean to me and I wish you weren't. Just some constructive criticism!" but even then, it was prompted by uzi and he did say "constructive criticism" lol

other than that, he has THANKED HER when she stepped on him, called him worthless and terrible and she'd kill him if company allowed it; when she LITERALLY almost kills him and never complained about her bullying in the manor. he stopped uzi from throwing (presumably) an insult towards eldritch J's appearance, was completely chill when she came back as a clone????

bottom line is, N doesn't seem like the type to hold grudges or plan revenge against anyone, even if they've actively hurt him for so long. he's always willing to give everyone even a little bit of a benefit of the doubt

unwarranted Cis Opinion but I'm getting really uncomfortable w people responding to bathroom bills by posting pictures of trans men like DO YOU WANT THEM IN WOMEN'S BATHROOMS

bc like. no they're men. they should be in men's bathrooms unless that feels unsafe. but. it really feels like it's not helpful to lean into the idea that seeing someone presenting masc or being read as a man in a women's bathroom means You're In Danger.

like I know several butch women and NB ppl who are really scared around being on T or getting top surgery bc they're not men and they don't want to be in the men's bathroom, and in that circumstance stuff like growing facial hair or reading more androgynously can be really fucking scary when people are being primed by propaganda to be on edge and hyperreactive to anyone who doesn't look like their idea of a Cis Woman.

and I'm not laying that at the feet of the people saying "hey uhhhh trans men are men and don't belong in women's bathrooms" bc it is not their fault. it's the fault of a concerted effort to make it difficult and dangerous to be trans or substantively gender nonconforming in public.

but at the same time idk I guess it just worries me cause sometimes it feels like "you fools! you are worried about this group of trans people bc you think they're the Lurking Danger of Men In Bathrooms? WRONG! the Men Making You Feel Afraid In Bathrooms are actually THESE trans people!" when in fact neither of those groups using the fucking bathroom is a problem. just piss and mind your business. people need to go where they need to go.

anyway this country is a hot fucking trash fire that somehow accelerates its descent into open fascism more every day so it's all super good and normal. so don't take this too seriously tbh cause it's somewhere near #2535654476457899009765 on the list of priorities for Queer Discourse right now when the fucking human rights commission is actively rescinding protections from trans people. Soulmate Au prompt.

Harry knew deep down who his Soulmate was the moment he saw him.

He become aware in a muted silence when he stepped out of the caldron in the graveyard. The moment he meet his eyes, red like blood and entirely snake like and he didn't felt only fear but the yearning for proximity and touch. How his lips produced a loud cry wasn't just because of the touch on his scar but also because he wanted to rejected the truth.

The cruciatus, he supposes, didn't hurt more than the truth that his Soulmate was a monster. A sadistic wraith walking on earth with its mind focusing on destruction. That included his own destruction.

He only stopped to think about it when he was back at Hogwarts, safe in the infirmary and under the covers and wards around his bed. Their bond wouldn't open fully until he was 17, so only smal aches would wreck his body now and then and only his own eyes would change. At least one that is.

His left eye, when the morning comes, would change to the same red as the monster. And everyone would know.

Unless he hided it. Which he would do.

He knows the solution is going to work only so much but Harry was almost a Slytherin. He knows how to adapt to those situations and he would act like nothing changed because in reality nothing did.

When he turned 17 however, the monsters eyes would match his and the pain would start and his freedom and life would be over.

Whatever comes first. Soulmate pains where not a joke. You would ache in your soul to be close to them. Your dreams would only be about your distance with them. Eating was out of the question when you refused to stay close to them properly. Denying it was a punishment for both parties. It was torture worst then the Cruciatus and any nasty curse boiling in your veins alongside.

He knows the moment the Monster starts to feel the pains and his right eye changes to the same shade of green that Harry has, it would be over.

But until then, Harry would prepare himself and he would be ready for it.

Until then, no one would know.
