Top 5 movies
OR
Top 5 books (whichever one you’re feeling <3)
How about both? But in no particular order cause I'm not that decisive.
*consults my spreadsheets*
Movies:
Hunt for the Wilderpeople: Actually, this is Taika Waititi's best work, go cry about it. (I'm a Taika Waititi hipster.)
Twilight: What do you want me to say?
Addicted to Fresno: y'all simply don't get it
Nacho Libre: I don't have an excuse for this other than that I was raised mormon.
Practical Magic: never met a gay girl that didnt like this movie. The most Lesbian movie to ever not lesbian.
Books:
This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar: If you don't like it, you simply don't get it.
The Scholomance series by Naomi Novik: sorry for throwing in a series, but I love this series and relate heavily to the main character.
Brain on Fire by Susannah Cahallan: would you believe that this was my comfort book when I was 16
Scythe: Do I like this because no one else does or because it's good? The world may never know.
Princess Academy: I don't remember anything that happened in this book, but just thinking about it gives me happy nostalgia feelings.
Honorary mention: The Salamander Spell by E.D. Baker. I snorted this shit like cocaine when I was 8.

Scatter-brained...
Did a "Brain Color" icebreaker activity last week during training and the accuracy of my results (blue) have been fucking me up ever since.
My period's a reeeealllll piece of work showing up 3 days early. I'm too grown for this shit.
I've set a daily alarm for Wordle because I go from cool to pissed real quick when I see my streak go back down to 1. Yes, an alarm. Like I said, grown.
Got a pedicure, two new pairs of sandals, and the anklets I ordered came in the mail last Saturday. I ain't gon' hold y'all... I can't stop staring at my feet.
While they are some flat muhfuckas, I can't lie... they stay soft like the rest of me, have no bunions or corns, and fortunately for me - my big toe is actually my big toe. Love that for me.
It just dawned on me that I ain't heard nobody talk about Morbius. Not one fucking peep. It was bad? I feel like that means it was bad.
Went out last Friday with some co-workers to a bar with an outdoor sitting area. We stayed there drinking and talking for over 5 hours and when I got home I realized the mosquitoes had a field day on my legs and thighs. Definitely had a mini panic attack thinking I had somehow gotten the monkeypox though.
Finished Gucci Mane's autobiography a few weeks ago. It was ok, but I was and am still disappointed he didn't include the backstory behind that Breakfast Club interview where he said Angela Yee used to be on his dick.
Saw this "Intimacy Expert" on IG talk about a sex technique she calls "Thrust in Time" to increase the chances of a woman orgasming during vaginal intercourse. She said it's a simple counting technique where the man does 9 shallow strokes, followed by 1 deep stroke, then 8 shallow strokes followed by 2 deep strokes, then 7 shallow, 3 deep, and so on and so forth. All I know is I'm trying to see about it. I just... I have a feeling me and my pussy would enjoy that very much.
Been menstruating since I was 12 years old and somehow it manages to genuinely surprise me every time I find myself "randomly" craving chocolate and kettle chips. Looking up 5 days later like, "well that explains it," every damn time.

here’s the thing.
if you’re one of the people celebrating our flag means death’s cancellation for whatever reason right now, i need you to realize that this is just a sign that whatever you love is next.
and i’m not saying that out of spite. having your favourite show cancelled is awful, i wouldn’t wish it on anyone. but if our little-gay-pirate-show-that-could can’t get its third and final season, the future of queer media is extremely grim.
ofmd was the definition of a sleeper hit. hbo max had no faith in it when the first season came out. it gained popularity purely through word-of-mouth. but it became one of max’s biggest shows, and it’s since been marketed as their flagship series.
it was the #1 most in-demand series in the world for 8 weeks (7 of those weeks consecutively). it’s currently in the 99.7th percentile of the comedy genre, meaning it’s in higher demand than 99.7% of all comedy series in the u.s. it has a 94% audience and critics score on rotten tomatoes. it’s the most in-demand hbo original series even above euphoria, succession, and the last of us.
it was nominated for 16 awards for the first season alone, including a GLAAD award and a peabody award. the second season was just nominated for an art directors guild award, which it was previously nominated for and won in the same category for season one.
besides awards, ofmd is critically-acclaimed and praised for its representation (including a cast of majority queer, bipoc, and disabled characters) and themes of anti-colonialism, challenging gender norms/toxic masculinity, and self-discovery/acceptance. it also has a diverse team of directors and writers consisting of several bipoc, women, and queer/trans/non-binary people.
on top of all of this, the plan for the show all along was only ever for three seasons. david jenkins only wanted three seasons for the full romcom structure to tell ed and stede’s story. that’s it. nothing more.
this isn’t an attempt to make you care about the show. but ofmd’s cancellation isn’t just a loss for the fanbase and the cast/crew. it’s a sign that it does not matter how successful or profitable shows highlighting lgbtq+ (or otherwise inclusive) narratives are or how many big names are involved. ofmd would not have been cancelled if it were a straight romcom. they would’ve magically found the budget. but corporate greed doesn’t care about us. they have no respect for queer people or queer media. and in the age of streaming, it’s only a matter of time until we lose all of it.

Our Flag Means Death is critically acclaimed, has an incredible Rotten Tomatoes score, and is massively successful - so why was it cancelled? Other shows with lesser acclaim and larger budgets were renewed, so what other reason is there? What does this mean for the future of TV if a show can achieve all this and still fail to get renewed? What's the point of investing in a new show if there's a big chance it'll never get finished?
Queer stories deserved to get told in full. Let's get that decision reversed so we can have that third and final season, as creator David Jenkins intended.
Please sign the petition to add your voice to over 53K (as of 1/16) who are gunning to get this show back, who are fighting for creatives to tell their stories, for logical decisionmaking, for quality TV.

Welcome to the Ultimate Animated Disney Movie Showdown!
It’s time to figure out the best Disney movie! 57 movies from the Walt Disney Animation Studio (ending with Strange World) and 25 Pixar movies (ending with Lightyear) for a grand total of 80 movies!
Exclusions:
-The War Time Era movies are not included (Saludos Amigos, The Three Caballeros, Make Mine Music, Fun and Fancy Free, Melody Time, and The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad)
-Direct-to-VHS/DVD movies are not included.
-Disneytoon Studios or Disney Television Animation movies are not included (A Goofy Movie, Planes, etc.)
-Disney sequels are not included (Lion King 2, Return to Neverland, Little Mermaid 2, etc.)
-Live Action/Live Action Remakes/Marvel/Star Wars movies are not included
Seeding:
Seeding has been done by averaging both the critics and audience scores on Rotten Tomatoes (I know this is not the most reliable source to gauge the quality of each movie, but I wanted to make sure all movies were seeded the same way). If movies had the same average score, the movie with the higher audience score received the higher seed.
Rules:
The first two rounds of the competition will be Play-In rounds, meaning all of the lower seeded movies will face off in order to join the main bracket with the higher seeded movies. All polls will be open for 7 days to get the most amount of votes possible! All polls will start every Sunday at 6:00 p.m. EST staring April 9. The schedule is as follows:
-Sunday, April 9: Play-In Round Polls Part 1 (8 polls)
-Sunday, April 16: Play-In Round Polls Part 2 (8 polls)
-Sunday, April 23: Round 1 Polls Part 1 (8 polls)
-Sunday, April 30: Round 1 Polls Part 2 (8 polls)
-Sunday, May 7: Round 1 Polls Part 3 (8 polls)
-Sunday, May 14: Round 1 Polls Part 4 (8 polls)
-Sunday, May 21: Round 2 Polls Part 1 (8 polls)
-Sunday, May 28: Round 2 Polls Part 2 (8 polls)
-Sunday, June 4: Sweet 16 (8 polls)
-Sunday, June 11: Elite 8 (4 polls)
-Sunday, June 18: Final 4 (2 polls)
-Sunday, June 25: Championship Poll (1 poll)
This schedule is subject to change and will be updated accordingly!
For this competition, I’m going to be using *#disney movie showdown* as the main tag, you can search for this tag if you think you’ve may have missed a poll! I’m excited to see the final results! Let the games begin!
UPDATE:
Week 11 has concluded! Championship Round: Week 12 has started and will end on July 2!

people really don't know how to enjoy a terrible movie 🙄 like idk im sorry but there’s a certain knack to spotting a movie that is not even trying to take itself seriously and just wants you to have fun i guess but if you come out of a movie with a rotten tomato audience rating of 16% mad that it wasn’t good then maybe its a you problem
