My spell oils are a lot like me, born in the new world and but still living in the old. I did a 5 year self study specifically in the pharmacopoeia of American folk magic (which encompasses many distinct cultures and traditions that make up this living tradition), as well as some research in traditional African religions and diasporic practices in the south in college, which was hugely influential in my approach to magical herbalism. My main background has always been in western herbalism, specifically the plants native to Europe and the British Isles. Working with plants in an animistic way, and incorporating correspondences from western occult traditions and modern witchcraft, I created these spell oils a couple of years ago. Some of them are classic hoodoo formulas, and others are more modern witchcraft formulas. They are now in new and larger bottles. Flying Devil is one of the most popular formulas. It’s used for getting rid of unwanted people and influences. Today I did an anxiety relief/self ease spell jar. Spell jars are some of the simplest spells to do and this one is beginner safe!!

REMEMBER TO ALWAYS HAVE PROTECTION (CRYSTALS, CAST A CIRCLE, etc.)

First thing you want to do is gather your ingredients. I always recommend keeping all shopping for witchy stuff local. If you can’t, Etsy is the next best option but ALWAYS LOOK AT REVIEWS TO AVOID GETTING SCAMMED PLS!!!

Next you’re going to need to cleanse everything you’ll be using. (including tools) I recommend doing everything even if you’ve already cleaned the items previously. You can never be too careful. You can cleanse by using incense or sage. There are plenty of other ways to cleanse as well that you can research but those are the safest.

After you have cleansed everything and you have your protection, grab your piece of paper and your pink pen/marker and time to write your intentions. For an example, I wrote, “With this spell I will wash away all anxiety and stress and open my arms to all happiness and love the world has to offer.” Roll the paper up and seal with pink wax to keep it rolled up and then place in your jar.

The fourth step is to grab a funnel and start adding the rest of your ingredients. The order doesn’t necessarily matter but this is how I did it:

1)Sugar

2)Damiana Leaves

3)Lavender

4) Amethyst

5) Himalayan Salt

6) Kunzite

Once you’re satisfied with your jar, put the cap on and put Lavender, Amethyst, and Kunzite on the lid and start sealing with Pink Candle Wax

Once it’s dried put one drop of Eucalyptus Oil on the cap and then put Blue Candle Wax to finish it off.

This piece was inspired by the Abuta and the Sarsaparilla plants. Both of wich are highly potent plants, widely used in herbal medicine. Sarsaparilla is also used in magick, for health spells, prosperity spells and as an ingredient for house blessings. It is also a common ingredient in love spells. Aloe Vera

Attributes: Healing Originally from Arabic nations, Aloe Vera has quickly become a plant associated with healing, due to the nature of the gel found inside. Healers have traditionally used this plant for ages, and it is well known for it’s strong abilities. It is an inexpensive succulent found in almost all greenhouses Use aloe gel to treat minor burns/sunburns and cuts, as well as chapped or broken skin. Making Aloe gel: You’ll need >Aloe leaf >Knife >Blender or Mixing tool >Bowl or Container >Cleaning supplies To start, cut the leaf into thin sections, then begin cutting off the outer leaf layer, hugging the edge to get as much gel as possible. Once finished, place the harvested gel in a bowl, and blend it using either a mixing tool or kitchen blender/mixer. The gel may froth at first, but this is normal. Try to pick smaller leaves to harvest if possible, as the gel will only stay fresh for around a week if stored in a cold place like a fridge. The gel can be applied to wounds for easy healing.
