The World Food Programme (WFP), an international humanitarian aid organization under the United Nations, has repeatedly warned of famine in the Gaza Strip over the last several months, with appeals that have escalated in recent days.
In a recent post on the social media platform X, the WFP warned, "half of the population of Gaza is starving."
In an interview also published on X, Abeer Etefa, a senior spokesperson for the WFP, says, "the food situation in Gaza is catastrophic, with 1.1 million people in IPC5 (the most extreme category on the famine index)."
"The only way to avert famine is a steady and constant flow of food supply," Etefa added.
Furore - an outbreak of public anger or excitement
e.g The genocide of Palestine has resulted in furore and calls for Israel to retreat from Gaza and the West Bank and return Palestine to the Palestinians

March 23, 2024 - “I’m feeding the ones who are not eating.”
In a video posted online, a Palestinian boy in Gaza was seen feeding stray cats. When asked if he had food for himself, the boy said “no.” [video]
The night before they took their little daughters to their parents so they could go out and enjoy the party. She was a therapeutic swimming instructor, it is said that she showered endless love on every child who came to her for therapy and he was an electrician, who also worked as an instructor at the same center. They say he was a gentle soul with a special connection to everyone. This is the story of Adir and Shiraz. They were in the car and didn't have time to reach Nova, already on the way a rocket attack began which caused them stop the car and enter a shelter on the side of the road. At 6:23 Adir's father texted Shiraz and they replied: "Everything is fine", but at 7:00 Shiraz texted her sister: "I have no air" and neither of them responded again. The terrorists who arrived in the area discovered that there were people in the shelter, they shot and threw grenades inside, Adir defended Shiraz with his body with great bravery until his life ended. They were murdered with unimaginable cruelty that is hard to describe in words. Long days passed until Adir was identified, Shiraz was identified a week later and was buried next to him. Father and mother did not return home, the girls remained orphans. It is said that they were a perfect match, they loved life in an unusual way. This is a story about Adir and Shiraz, who spread only good in the world, who were inseparable in their lives and in their deaths. The light they spread everywhere will forever illuminate our paths through the stars. Angels.
Six months ago, on the weekend of 7 October, I planned to go to the beach and swim with my friends in the sea. I lived by the beach and would go for a walk there most days to get fresh air. I also used to go to the gym every morning. Regardless of the 17 years of Israel’s blockade, I still felt some kind of security: I had my job, my home, my family, and I took care of my food and my health.
Instead, that weekend in October, I woke up to the sounds of bombs. I went straight to the market to get food and basic essentials – I knew a war would be starting soon. I was only thinking about the coming days.
For 200 days in Gaza, I’ve never felt safe or secure. When I go to sleep, I know that I might not wake up the next morning. My entire life has changed since October, and it will never be the same. Today, I don’t do a single thing I used to. Now, the only thing I have is my work. I constantly worry about those around me and try to take care of them.
As a parent of two children, the worst feeling was knowing I cannot protect them. They can be killed at any time, and there is nothing I can do it about it. Before the war, I felt that I was the provider and protector of my family. Now, I just feel so powerless.I cannot secure the basic needs for me and family, like food, or gas for cooking. For the longest time in my life, I haven’t been able to eat any meat. I have lost around 13kg, I look like a completely different person. Any food that is available here is now too expensive.
Finding transport in Gaza is impossible and there is no fuel available, so people can’t reach their families. I’ve lost so many loved ones. My best friend was killed. Another of my close friends was killed, along with his whole family. My friends who I used to see every day are all gone.
Another update on your fellow Canadian, Ahmed Kouta. He only ate a lemon on February 17th 2024. That was his meal for the day.
This is the responsibility of Mélanie Joly and Justin Trudeau, who have lied to Palestinian-Canadians time and time again claiming they would help while the Trudeau administration splits itself over their genocidal policies.
Armed IOF forces in tanks were “afraid” of starving, unarmed, noncombatant, Palestinian civilians
The Israeli army has issued a statement concerning the massacre its forces are accused of commuting in northern Gaza in which at least 77 Palestinians were killed while they were waiting for humanitarian aid.
The Israeli army called starving Palestinians waiting for food aid around humanitarian trucks a “violent gathering” which made its soldiers feel “unsafe,” the Israeli daily Haaretz reported.
Israeli soldiers then proceeded to indiscriminately open fire on hungry Palestinians, killing dozens and wounding hundreds.
Much of Gaza's population is on the brink of famine as a result of the Israeli blockade according to the UN and other humanitarian organisations.
