Honey Spell Jar

Sweeten your life with this hoodoo practice of making a spell jar. Jar work can be used to bring good to your own life and trouble to others. There are three main jar works; honey jar, sour jar, and freezer work. Today we are focusing on bringing good our lives with a honey jar.

Hoodoo is a form of African American magic, also known as conjure.  Hoodoo blends a combination of traditions that include African and Native American practices as well as Christianity and European folk magic.

Remember in hoodoo there is no threefold law or any idea of karma.

This is one of my favorite spells to do because it involves a few of my favorite things 💜jars and 💜honey

First take some time and think of some areas of your life that needs sweetening. Love, money, healing etc. Gather your items needed to do your work. You'll need a jar or container, desired ingredients for desired outcome. Petition paper with name if intended a photo will also work. Add trinkets and sweetener. Seal your jar with wax. When ever you need a little sweetness in your life burn a candle on top of your jar.

Honey- to sweeten situations or to sweeten others. Persuade others your way

Oils- essential oils are great to set intentions

Heart shaped... - draw love

Money- to raise financial status

Herbs and crystals- choose herbs and crystals that correspond with your intention

Road opening & block busting, what are the differences?

Road openers are useful for when you simply feel like you need to be shown what opportunities are before you & what options are available to you. They allow you to see clearly all paths you could take & they are great for opening a few new doors as well. Especially if you feel lost or confused about your options or unsure as to what options you have. These spells are also commonly cast for when you want to gain a promotion or rise up on the corporate ladder. This is because road openers help you get noticed & seen. They encourage development & stead progress forward that aids in success & accomplishment.

Block busters are for when you feel actively blocked. Like life isn’t moving forward no matter what you try & you’re always getting stuck & no progress is being made at all. Commonly it feels like you are trapped, stuck or like life isn’t going anywhere. No matter what you try, nothing seems to work. Block busters are then used to smash through these blockages, unblocking your energy & they remove obstacles in order to help things flow again. This creates movement, allows for progression & positive changes. This also helps if you feel like someone has blocked you with the evil eye, jinxes or a smaller hex which has become a much larger crossing over time.

It's like pressing pause on your spellwork, allowing you to return to it at a later time.

💨 Blowing Out the Flame: 

Blowing out a candle is an act of releasing and dispersing energy. It can be a powerful way to send your intentions out into the universe. When you blow out a candle, visualize your desires being carried on the air, reaching the realms of manifestation. However, be mindful that blowing out the candle can also scatter the energy, so ensure you have clarity in your intentions before doing so.

🕯️ Letting the Candle Burn: 

Allowing a candle to burn all the way down is a practice of continuous focus and dedication. It signifies your commitment to the spell or ritual until its completion. As the candle burns, the energy and intentions continue to be amplified, and the flame acts as a beacon for your desires. This method is ideal for long-term spells or rituals that require a sustained energy flow.

I haven't had an altar space up since the end of January when I was preparing to move. Since then, while still unpacking, taking care of my fully disabled husband and 2 cats AND working a full-time job...I've had neither the time nor energy to get it set up. Today, I finally rectified that. It's not fancy, rigidly orthodox, or even pretty, according to some perspectives. What this altar space does is give me a place to center, let go, and lean into the love, energies, and magick of my Spirit Squad. I walk by it and feel the presence of my family and guides. I make offerings and light my (almost) daily candles to my current pantheon: LA Santa Muerte, Lord Ganesha, and Yemaya. Each has given me strength and inspiration during the bright and darker days. This may change as They choose their time in working with me, but the altar is always a loving and respectful place, no matter who is in my daily Squad. My life is still crazy stressful. However, when the altar is fired up, I feel peace in my home and my heart. I'm grounded and centered, where previously I've felt untethered and off-balance. I just wanted to share the moment. I know some witchy folks take issue with showing your altar space. My response: this is not for you. I walk my path, my way. I share for love, connection, and support of others who feel they walk a different road. I don't profit from this, except to know I'm living true to myself. My Spirit Squad has no issue with me showing my altar, and believe me, I'd know if they did! This is my safe space. It is small, but so is my home. It is my spiritual well and center. It makes me feel good, renewed, recharged, and happy. Each candle is hand-dipped with intention and with hours being spent slowly crafting them, it makes the experience of burning them feel magical. And before me, these roses grew from a luscious garden and the wax was made by bees. These candles and their packaging is compostable and recycled. One of my cord cutting rituals. Cord cuttings are ancient spells that help break down energetic connection between you & another person. By breaking this link they can no longer control you, manipulate you or influence you for their own personal gain.

Of course these spells require great commitment from the client. You cannot just hope for the best after the spell is done. You must also work to clear out anything that that person gave to you, you can see or speak with that person again & you must do your very best to stay away from them. This is so that the cords cannot attempt to grow back & so that your body heals.

After a cord cutting you must always have that broken connection removed, healed & replaced with positive energy. This prevents it from growing back like a weed. It also fills the void left behind by that old cord with something new, this allows you to adjust to the change much sooner & it helps you to not miss the connection so much.
