Honey Spell Jar
Sweeten your life with this hoodoo practice of making a spell jar. Jar work can be used to bring good to your own life and trouble to others. There are three main jar works; honey jar, sour jar, and freezer work. Today we are focusing on bringing good our lives with a honey jar.
Hoodoo is a form of African American magic, also known as conjure.  Hoodoo blends a combination of traditions that include African and Native American practices as well as Christianity and European folk magic.
Remember in hoodoo there is no threefold law or any idea of karma.
Tumblr media
This is one of my favorite spells to do because it involves a few of my favorite things 💜jars and 💜honey
First take some time and think of some areas of your life that needs sweetening. Love, money, healing etc. Gather your items needed to do your work. You'll need a jar or container, desired ingredients for desired outcome. Petition paper with name if intended a photo will also work. Add trinkets and sweetener. Seal your jar with wax. When ever you need a little sweetness in your life burn a candle on top of your jar.
Honey- to sweeten situations or to sweeten others. Persuade others your way
Oils- essential oils are great to set intentions
Heart shaped... - draw love
Money- to raise financial status
Herbs and crystals- choose herbs and crystals that correspond with your intention
Happy casting
Blessed Be! 💜

A random update on how my art journaling/junk journaling as a witchy activity is going:
I think pretty well. I'm enjoying the challenge of assembling each page in a way that is both artful and fun and gives me the information needed to know what I did and what I used. I definitely need to make sure that I keep a backup journal so that if I get too "in it" to form whole art pages, I still have a record of what I am doing.
I also didn't consider that the form itself would impact my spellcasting but it already has. There are ways to hide things in junk journaling and ways to reveal things. I've realized that if I start to design a page layout in the spell planning stages, I can make my recording of the spell a part of the spell itself. I'm learning to let the pages be infused with my magic in a way that it never has before.
I still have a ton to learn. The journal style that I chose - while convenient - isn't ideal for this intense a journal style. Also, my pickets and other pieces are pretty sloppy at the moment. I'm sure that is something that gets better with practice.
Also, for those other ADHD witches who sometimes have a challenging time maintaining the focus on a candle, for instance, that may burn for 2-3 hours, you can junk journal your entry while you burning your candle and use that as a means to keep you inside of your spell for longer.

well hello there
hi, I've been very absent from this page and apologies for that. I'm getting more into my practice again and that potentially means I'll be posting more again, but I'm not totally sure yet.
hopefully some people have stuck around through my 3 year hiatus.
I've done a small and subtle make over of the page, because it's not going to be exactly the same as before
update
super simple list of things that have changed and things that haven't
still working with tarot, runes, a few other things
still predominantly follow norse paganism and the norse pantheon, still with some influences from other practices (none that are closed practices, of course)
getting into herbalism, which is new to me. I never had any interest in it before but, through starting to drink more herbal tea and things like that, I'm getting more into it
still learning. always.
other life update stuff
a lot of other stuff has happened in the last 3 and a half years that will likely influence content and my practice going forward
my health went to shit and I found out that I have multiple chronic illnesses/disabilities
I went through a whole lot of toxic friendships
I was in a 2 year long abusive relationship (left a year and a half ago)
went through a lot of other traumatic things, including assault and substance abuse
I was 15 when I last posted, I'm now 20. so I've also emotionally matured a lot
I don't know how many of these things with show in things on this page but it may end up being quite relevant. I am healing from things and learning to move on, and my practice is something that is closely tied into those practices.

While not as popular to celebrate today, Midsummer was once an important celebration in Scotland.
The day was eventually renamed “St. John's Day” by the church and major attempts were made to remove the old traditions associated with Midsummer.
Many of the old traditions involved using the purifying nature of fire, so a statute was enacted in 1581 forbidding the practice. Much to the annoyance of authorities at the time, even that did not stop the fires completely.
"...and in 1665, the Presbytery of Dingwall ordained that their congregations should be abjured to 'desist from the superstitious abuses used on St. John's Day by burning torches through their cornes and fires in their towns, and thereafter fixing their stakes in their kail-yards." The Silver Bough Vol 2 by F. Marian McNeill
How the fire was used could change slightly depending on the place. Some would light a fire by their door, while others would carry torches around their properties or light fires in a location that ensured the smoke would carry over their fields.
"On Midsummer Eve people in the Isle of Man were wont to light fires to the windward of every field, so that the smoke might pass over the corn; and they folded their cattle and carried blazing furze or gorse round them several times." The Golden Bough by Sir James George Frazer [1922]
Since the veil between our world and the Otherworld was thought to be thin at this time, that meant not only where more fairies around, but also that the magical protective properties of plants were at their strongest.
Birch branches might be hung over a door for protection, alongside elderberries and St. John's Wort.
"On Midsummer Eve, when their power is at its height, flowers and herbs are the only barriers to their incursions, and these are regularly spread at the doors of the houses to protect the inmates." The Folk-Lore of the Isle of Man by A. W. Moore[1891]
One of the strangest things folklore said you could gather are fern seeds, but you only have one night to do it. According to science, ferns spread through spores, but according to folklore, you can collect fern seeds on midsummer eve. Collecting them was a dangerous act since they were protected by fairies, but getting fern seeds could give you the ability to turn invisible.
Other common traditions are fortune-telling, collecting morning dew, feasts, dances, and weddings or betrothals.

"Midsummer Eve" by Edward Robert Hughes (1908)

Book of Shadows, Grimoires, Journals and other writings. What are they?
A book of Shadows and Journal are essentially the same thing. I suggest different books or journals. All of them together is your Book of Shadows, this is where you keep all the records of your personal and magick growth. This is an item where people especially women are better since fewer men have kept a diary when they were younger. It took me awhile to get into this habit myself. Many people will include a dream diaries, magick workings, Diviations and so forth.
A Grimoir on the other hand is while very similar yet not your personal journals. This blog is an example of a Grimoir, verse your personal Book of Shadows (BOS), or Journal. A Grimiore will explain how to do things giving you examples of spells including in our case give you the steps of doing the ceremonial magick

You'll need
A jar or container. A personal item, such as a photo, hair, nails or blood. Intention paper. Fill your jar with items seal and shake. Whenever you feel your person needs a little sour give your jar a good shake.
Vinegar- used to curse or harm others, punish or to "spoil" something *can explode do not fill jar with vinegar or heat jar
Black pepper- for banishing
Coffin nails- drive them away, drive the victim insane
Some string- to " trip up" your victim
Pet hair (optional) to make two people fight like cats and dogs
Dont forget to shake your jar from time to time.
When your done with the jar and you feel your person has reaped what they have sewed, bury completely or dispose of it at a crossroads. Don't just throw it away.
Let me know what other things you put in your sour jar and why?!!
Blessed Be 💜

Kickstarter: Goetia Demon Pendants
I recently finally received a tarot deck kickstarter I backed a year ago. In checking on the progress of it over a year, I found another really cool one to back! Kickstarter seems to be the place, other than etsy, to find cool spiritual stuff. This next one is for Goetia Demon Pendants.
Tumblr media
Here is the link for you to follow along as you read: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/casting/goetia-demon-pendants-and-rings-all-72-lesser-key-of-solomon
So I know what you are thinking, demons...bad. Kind of. The book of solomon is actually part of the Old Testament that was not included in the New Testament, that has the demons names that most people associate with hell in it. This is part of why I wonder often about the bible, like who wrote it and how far from the source is it and how it has changed and why. Anyway that is a different topic for a different post. When doing spiritual stuff, you do generally want to avoid negative or demonic stuff but I feel like that is a very limited mindset. Really this “human experience” is such a duality based experience. Why would we know “good” if we did not know “bad” and need a way to differentiate between the two.
Back to the point of this post, I backed this kickstarter and it funded. My card was charged and this one should be a shorter wait. I was actually very conscious of that this time, not that the last delay was any one persons fault, but can you blame a gal for not wanting to do that experience again? And so far I am still waiting for it, but the items are made and forms have been filled out so hopefully it gets here soon.
Why would I have demon pendants? The entity, any entity in question, is only as bad as you make them to be. Here is a list of the demons:

Group them on fewer chains? I also ended up picking up the book they come from and I am excited to read about them as I hold them in my hand!

When I made this page years ago I had no idea what I wanted to do with it. I was in a time of my life where I had no clue where I would be even months from that day. Now that my life has drastically changed I've decided to do what I've always wanted: read tarot and make bracelets. Now, let me introduce myself. My name is Moe, I've been reading tarot since I was 16 but in the last few years I finally felt comfortable enough to open my skills to the world 💜 I'm still working on a scale of how I would like to charge for readings so be on the look out for that post! My cat will occasionally help draw the cards too! His name is Treasure and expect to see a lot of him on this page 😺🤍 I also make handmade bracelets and have an Etsy store for them and you can find me at Miscellaneous Monet. My DM's are open for custom orders if you do not see anything you like! I look forward to what this blog can become 💜

June 02, 2022
So this week has been a doozy. Memorial Day was spent poorly, my best friend is sick, and it's tick season (barf). I am thankful that the frigid spring made way for a warmer and thriving ecosystem, but the bug life is, well, bugging me. We struggle to keep cool, but just bought a window air-conditioner. This puts us down a hundred dollars or so but our daughter was miserable without it.
We went for a hike on Saturday, on accident. We originally went to frisbee golf. NEVER FORGET TO STRETCH! Oh my goodness, I cannot stress this enough, it will save you so many aches and pains. To be fair, I didn't know what I was getting into as it was a new course in a new city. But this being said, it went up the side of a mountain and back down. We had O too, in her stroller, which isn't small. The view was so worth it! It was an overlook of our county lake and made me realize how small I really was as a human being. I can't wait to make it a regular thing.
We spent Memorial Day at Ian's boss's house so he could build a shed. It was okay, but the bugs (barf) were everywhere. Bees, flies, wasps, you name it. Everyone was sweaty and smelly and I went to give him some company when he had downtime. I think they worry about me getting out of the house. With the shooting going on, and the news being swarmed with how many more there were, it makes me wonder if I can trust my government. I've never wanted to be on my own land more.
We've been finding ticks on the dog and my fiance the past few days and it's giving the heebie-jeebies. I'm already paranoid about bugs to begin with so it doesn't help having no control or knowledge. Knowledge is so important! The more you know about a subject, the more you can tell other people and use it in daily life subconsciously.
