it honestly makes me sick how people can act like they care about world issues but turn a blind eye to ACTUAL world issues as soon as it isnt in the west. people in syria and turkey are digging their loves ones out of debris still and ive heard THREE people talk about it. THREE. families have been wrapping their deceased loved ones in TRASH BAGS because there have been so many deaths (around 16k if you must know) that there arent enough burial shrouds. this is a HORRIBLE disaster yet nobody is talking about it. where are all the “woke” girlies now? and you all know DAMN well if a natural disater this size happened in europe (yes ik turkey is europe technically before you all hunt me down) or america EVERYONE would be ralking about it, people would have “help america 🇺🇸🥺” pfps and everything. but nobody cares about the middle east. you all would rather forget any of this is going on than do something about it because you’re too self absorbed and ignorant to help people even when if doesnt effect you or benefit you. if you were REALLY an “activist”, you would care about the middle east.

I am Lebanese. I used to be really white washed when I was a kid. I used to wish I was completely Australian and not have any Lebanese in me at all.
Just recently have I started embracing my culture and heritage as a Lebanese woman and I dreamed of visiting Lebanon again so I could absorb what I missed out on appreciating as a child. The language, the history, the food, the people.
Israel is currently bombing Lebanon as well as Palestine and Syria. This isn’t the beginning, but it’s scary. People have died/been injured, including children. I fear that the country that I used to not acknowledge as my native land, the country that I now hold so much respect and love for, the country that I wanted to come back to after I graduated so that I could finally embrace my rich culture, will be reduced to rubble.
To my Arab friends, Israel is already counting on people to forget and be apathetic about their actions. They spread lies and hatred about the Middle East and its people. They terrorise the inhabitants, steal their land, destroy their homes and try to cleanse them of their ethnicity. If Israel is already doing all this to try and eradicate our history and culture, we cannot assist them in this process.
Be proud about who you are, now more than ever. Be loud. Be irritating. Be the flies in their ear, they already see us as insects. Don’t ever be ashamed of where you come from, who you are. Your culture, values and beliefs are instilled in you from the moment you are born and are attacked the moment you are born. Keep them close to your heart because you have a heart, a functional one. One that feels empathy, compassion, kindness, love, joy, appreciation. In a world where these things are in such short supply, they are more valuable than ever.
Be MENA and proud in a world that tries to tear you down from the moment you rise.

The people are dying and because of the American and European sanctions => cargo airplanes refuse to land on Syrian airports so there's no equipmens to save the Syrian
This is a humanitarian situation and a natural disaster it's not political,
Imagine not dying but listening to your loved ones under ground asking for your help and you feel helpless and end up hearing them taking their last breath while you are just standing there.
Until now only 5 countries have helped

Iraq

Russia
And this is only because the other countries are afraid of destroying their connections!!!
I don't know what's happening but humanity is over.
And on the top of that FRENcH is making fun of the situation and laughing at the kids who are buried and dying just because turkey and Syria are Muslim countries !!!

Besides being shocked some people want to help in any way they can, but maybe don't know how or to whom they can make a donation.

Fuck the government.
I'm still angry. I'm still not surprised. I'm still holding my tears since it happened. We've lost more than 40,000 people. More than 30,000 died in Turkey and more than 5,000 died in Syria...
From all those who were killed in Turkey, how many of them would still be among us if the government stopped neglecting us and spent our fucking money to build and improve our infrastructure ? The « Earthquake tax » that was created after the İzmit earthquake (1999), all the money we gave since it was invented – where the fuck did it went ? We're talking about BILLIONS of dollars ! Where did it go ?!
...Oh ! Yeah, right, it was given to the State's friends who then proceeded to build crappy buildings – blatantly lying to people, to convince them to live in their unsafe buildings, by saying that they were earthquake-resistant when it wasn't true. All those people, from the government to their greedy and corrupted friends, THEY KILLED THOSE WHO DIED IN THE RUBBLE OF THEIR HOMES. And to top it all, Erdoğan has said that all those deaths and destroyed buildings “couldn't have been prevented”... Bffr. Earthquakes don't kill people, buildings do. If this government wasn't so greedy and corrupted, if Erdoğan wasn't so self obsessed and selfish, if those corporations weren't as shitty as the State, many of those we lost would still be among us right now.
Also, one thing we shouldn't forget is how systemic racism also played a role in this case. The majority of Kurds in this country lives in the South. Now, only people who choose to turn a blind eye to this issue will pretend that it isn't true/real, but the Kurdish community has always been a marginalized/oppressed community in Turkey. I mean, until 1991, Kurdish was officially a banned language and even after its legalization, there's still people who are persecuted by the authorities and the State solely over their Kurdish identity. I'll always talk about that man who was arrested in 2009 and spent the rest of his life in prison just because he spoke Kurdish. He died in prison because he spoke his mother tongue.
And even during this crisis, they still found a way to be racist. The government announced translation services in 7 languages except Kurdish. They've translated crucial earthquake information in multiple languages, including Pashto... except in Kurdish, when those who are mainly affected by earthquakes are Kurds.
They failed them. Many cities had to wait for days to finally receive aid when we all know that the first hours are crucial. Many cities were simply abandoned by the State. And let's talk about when the government thought that their ego was more important than lives : they restricted access to social media, like Twitter, when it helped rescuers to locate people stuck under the rubble. They also arrested people just because they dared criticize the government. Dozens have been arrested over "provocative posts". That's exactly what they did during the 2021 Turkey wildfires. Because just like back then, the government did a poor job. They failed, once again.
They don't give a damn about us. They never did. They blatantly show how much they don't see us as people but only as tools and workers. Where's the money going ? The money we keep giving to this stupid government?
We all know the answer, don't we ? It goes in Erdoğan's and his puppets' pockets. He spend OUR money on his stupid palace, and when he feels generous, he gives OUR money to his little friends. « 7-days national grief » my ass. He doesn't fucking care. He's doing this because the elections are coming soon and he wanna stay in power forever. Everything THEY, all the political parties, are doing isn't genuine – it all has to do with the incoming elections. It's an opportunity for them.
When will we put an end to this ? When will this stop ? When will enough be enough ?

By the way, let's not forget Syria. They're also badly affected by the earthquakes. It's very hard to send help to those affected by the earthquakes because of the Assad regime and the Turkish gov. The sanctions against Syria also doesn't help. Talking about Syria, guess who decided it was the right time to bomb Syria? Isr*el, of course... They killed civilians and destroyed a historical building. It doesn't matter if it was owned by Iran-backed militias. it's just NOT the right time. Fuck you, Isr*el.

please boycott and don't spread russian music, literature, movies, series, art and russian artists! don't use trending russian music on Instagram or TikTok, don't popularize the culture of a terrorist country!
and please be sure to point it out to other social media users. this is the minimum you can do to avoid unnecessary trauma to the victims of russian aggression. the victims should not see the tolerance of the culture of the state that kills and tortures them every day, that destroys entire cities and creates environmental disasters killing hundreds of people!
earlier I wrote about why it is important to realize the level of guilt of the russians and not tolerate everything russian, in order to show the whole world and the russians themselves that their culture of terrorism and dancing on bones will not be tolerated in a civilized society!

URGENT! PLEASE DONATE AND THEN SHARE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN! This is the fundraiser I have started to help the people of my village who have been affected by the devastation following the Turkey/Syria earthquake. The first (7.8 magnitude) and second (7.6 magnitude) earthquakes have reduced the entire Polatdere area to rubble and debris. The majority of my village are farmers and elders who only have two road access to the village - one leading in and another leading out. Aid has been difficult to come by and we still need tents. We need money for food, heaters, water, clothes, fuel for cars, and to salvage our trucks and equipment for the upcoming spring.
Winter nights are deadly and tremors are frequent. All I ask is that you read the information on the GoFundMe page, donate what you can, and circulate this post as often as you’re willing. Please help us to face the uncertain future with your donation.
