The Ukrainian Life Saving Center published footage of the evacuation of people after the russian chemical attack on Ukrainian territory.
just look at the condition of these victims. I can't imagine what they feel, and what a terrible pain it is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
unfortunately, the world leaders, who once guaranteed Ukraine complete protection, are trying to turn a blind eye to the fact that the russians are once again violating all international human and environmental laws.
I don't get tired of reminding and asking each of you not to stop supporting Ukrainians, spreading information about the russian war in Ukraine and not tolerating everything russian to show criminal russia and world leaders that you do not tolerate russian terrorism, its culture and products!

Our artists continue to die in the terrible war unleashed by the russians while you run and protect the "poor russian artists". So much about russians who are guilty of this war and do nothing to stop it, and so little about Ukrainians who sacrifice their lives and health for the existence of their country.

regarding the genocide song contest:
various past eurovision contestants are campaigning for the removal of israel and some national finalists are now choosing to boycott. olly alexander, who will rep the uk, condemned the palestinian genocide and was subsequently attacked by israeli media (in a blatant rule violation the ebu did nothing about)
slovenian broadcaster rtvslo is purportedly trying to negotiate the removal of israel
1000 artists from host country sweden are preparing to send an open letter to the ebu to ban israel; the swedish left wing has also called for israel to be removed immediately
iceland is officially threatening to boycott eurovision pending the removal of israel
word on the street is that if iceland does compete, it will send palestinian artist bashar murad who is openly anti-israel and has collabed with previous icelandic reps hatari, aka the guys who did this back in 2019
Tumblr media
iceland is now leading in the odds whereas israel has been steadily dropping, suggesting that the bookies are aware israel is becoming increasingly unpopular
lastly, in a move so ridiculous i'm beginning to suspect eurovision is a figment of our collective imagination, israel is seemingly gearing up to enter eden golan, a moscow-based russian singer. while russia is still banned for terrorism.
if you're european: please contact your participating broadcaster and demand for the removal of israel, or try to contact your nation's selected artist to put pressure on the broadcaster. if you're swedish, please try contacting svt or authorities with security concerns regarding the inclusion of israel. if israel does enter eden golan, complain about her selection and ties to russia. and absolutely DO NOT vote on, watch or promote this show if israel does end up competing.

Curious if you have proof of Viv being pro Russian and Zionist
(Other then openly refusing to boycott completely boycott-able companies and supporting pro Russian (and blatant nazism) fan accounts)
Like girl is posting her Starbucks and Maccy D’s but she’s a victim? She’s too poor not to boycott? Bro
If you wonder what I meant that she is pro-ruzzian than lemme explain-
On September 2023, she reposted animation from russ1an with "🇷🇺" flag in their username
Tumblr media
The animation and art style is cute, right? Oh, let’s maybe also look up at their profile maybe they’re a good russian huh?👀
“BbbbUtt ShE OnLy RePoStEd ArT, ShE didn’t KnOw tHaT sHe Is nOt A pRo Ruzzzzz!!!
What if I told you that she also reposted a tweet about supporting metal family, which have a creators who support a war??
And if I told you that she also have animators who are from russ1a too???
Babe don’t teach me that I should call proruzz and what I shouldn’t
“But that’s a xenopho-“ blah blah blah you said that hundreds times and you know what? We have tired of you and your nonsense, they bombing us and russ1an artist that you think are “innocent” are also a pro-war. Same with the Israel ones
How can she be a zi0nist and pro-rus you may ask?
Easy, just repeat it with me
ZIONISTS👏🏼AND👏🏼PRO-RUZZIANS👏🏼CAN👏🏼ALSO👏🏼NOT👏🏼GIVE👏🏼A👏🏼FUCK👏🏼ABOUT👏🏼COUNTRIES👏🏼THAT👏🏼GET👏🏼ATTACKED👏🏼BY👏🏼COUNTRIES👏🏼THEY👏🏼SUPPORT👏🏼
And here some screenshots of animators that she work with
And if you wonder that I said about her being a zionist just search up “vivziepop starbucks” on either twitter or google
If you think that I’m lying about her being pro-russian or zionist then I don’t want you on replies or reblogs or messages, don’t waste your time on me and having arguments with me either
Anyways all of the screenshots I’ve got:

Maybe this is "chronically online" of me but I feel it's disrespectful, or at least tone deaf to be posting about films made in "israel". Maybe you could skip them at least for the time being, if not disregard them entirely? Given the ongoing genocide, it puts a bad taste in my mouth to see things they've made be put up without any sort of acknowledgement of it or anything. I don't believe it's a political statement or whatever (and this isn't meant to be a call-out) it just seems weird. Cheers for considering it if you do.
I'd like to first make a reminder, that this answer is exclusively written by mod Sus only, and should not be considered as entire blog's or other mods' (or its original mod's) collective opinion. They can make their own statement if wishing so, but I take the full responsibility for this answer.
I don't think you can make this kind of topic apolitical considering what it involves and touches. If you make a statement about something that involves something as heavy as war, it's going to be political.
It's not like the thought of "is this right thing to do?" hasn't ever occured my mind when I've seen these movies in queue and their country of origin is Israel. But I, personally, have been looking at this topic through the lenses of "separaring art from the artist." Movies are a form of art, and they are made by the groups of invidiuals with their own ideas and views. While I do understand the idea of not wanting to give an artist, group or in this case, a country, visibility and wanting to boycott them, I don't think it can't really be applied in art. Not if the said problematic target is not even the one who created it or benefiting from it. These israeli people who made these movies are not their goverment. These movies were made before the current political climate boom (the conflict itself has been going on for longer than some of us are old) by individual people because they wanted to create. The country or the people causing the fuckery are not benefiting from the visibility enough to make it matter.
That being said, I think trying to ignore or erase something that's not directly related to the problematic thing in attempt to not support it is the laziest from of activitism. It's "boycott everything russian" again. Us refusing to acknowledge these movies made by people who are not benefiting their country does not help people in need and facing horrible, awful things in their own home.
This is under no circumstances, in any form, meant to be taken as supporting the genocide, Israel or to erase the existence of the conflict and genocide going on. As much as here in the horror circles we love joking about violence and killing, causing deaths of any real life people is awful and one of the most unacceptable things there can be. We acknowledge there's horrible things going on in the world and don't want it to be not acknowledged. But this is not a place for that.
Art, that was not made to reflect and represent those awful times, should not be the victim of sins of someone who didn't create it. The artists should not be the victims of sins of their group. The movie creators and their creations shouldn't be blamed for awful acts their goverment makes. Blaming them does not help the people that are the real victims.
I'd like to imagine Tumblr, as a social media site, as a place of escapism. This might of course not be same for everyone, but when I come into Tumblr, that's when I want to leave all the real world news behind and just enjoy things I like without remembering world has awful things in it. This is a mere small, independent horror movie tumblr blog, where we encourage people to talk about movies and horror genre. I'd wish we could leave as much of these heavy real-life topics outside the blog and posts we make, even if they are good to be acknowledged. (Now if other mods of course want to be the ones to discuss these things, they can. I'm not taking part of them.)
Now, what you can do if you don't want to see movies that were made in Israel by israelis?
We tag movies by country of origin, using Wikipedia as source for these. You can block "israel" tag to avoid seeing them. You can not vote in the poll. If following a blog that allows Israeli movies to be published in it, you can unfollow us. Curate your own social media feed. If you see something you're uncomfortable with, erase that from your own exposure.
As the final statement, as a singular person in the Internet. You don't have to agree with me and in places like Tumblr or anything, I don't think we can agree with everything. But the kind of black-white thinking, where you think everything with any kind of connection to problematic thing is bad and people attached to it are bad, is not healthy. It will make you stay on your toes all the time, and it's not flexible way of thinking. You're not going to make it in the world if you see everything inside it only that way.
Focus on what matters. If you're going to fight, fight the actual enemy, not the gravel under its shadow.

Zara's newest collection = another reason to boycott Zara.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“A limited edition collection from the house celebrating our commitment to craftsmanship and passion for artistic expression.”
Oh, you mean artistic expression that uses a genocide as inspiration? Bodies wrapped in white cloths and a scenery of destruction? Why?
This is so utterly infuriating and disgusting. You could say "Oh, it’s just a coincidence. People are so sensitive and overinterpreting everything nowadays!"
Yeah, what a coincidence that the set designer works for The Gersh Ageny which was *gasp*, guess what, established by Phil Gersh, a Russian Jew. Currently, the agency is managed by his sons Bob and David Gersh.

boycott everything russian!
please boycott and don't spread russian music, literature, movies, series, art and russian artists! don't use trending russian music on Instagram or TikTok, don't popularize the culture of a terrorist country!
and please be sure to point it out to other social media users. this is the minimum you can do to avoid unnecessary trauma to the victims of russian aggression. the victims should not see the tolerance of the culture of the state that kills and tortures them every day, that destroys entire cities and creates environmental disasters killing hundreds of people!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
earlier I wrote about why it is important to realize the level of guilt of the russians and not tolerate everything russian, in order to show the whole world and the russians themselves that their culture of terrorism and dancing on bones will not be tolerated in a civilized society!
russia is currently waging a full-scale genocidal war against Ukraine and taking part in the genocide of the Syrian people who are suffering from the terrorism of dictator Bashar al-Assad!
Tumblr media
please show your respect and tolerance for Ukrainians and Syrians, boycott everything russian and educate others! do your part in the information war against imperialist xenophobic racist homophobic and nazi russia!

hi! wanted to submit a couple of songs for the eu competition. these are quite famous and problably not as interesting as more niche ones, but i still think they are amazing:
Danger Dan - Das ist alles von der Kunstfreiheit gedeckt (he's a cool german rapper who loves critisising the government and the police. i love his sense of irony)
Ren - Seven Sins (i know he sings in english, but technically he's welsch? and welsch is genetically closer to Breton language in France than to English, so... come on. and this particular song even starts with a verse in welsch, therefore i suggest it and not the more political ones. it's my favourite though: i adore the way he intricately merges his personal chronic pain with political and social problems. it just resonates deeply with me and i find it beautiful)
also, just in case: do you think you could accept songs of oppositional russian singers that had to leave the country because of the political beliefs they expressed in their art? russia is obviously not a part of eu, but it used to compete in eurovision - and most of the singers have emigrated to the countries of eu specifically. i will totally understand if you'd rather not allow their songs to participate. it's just that i know and deeply love so many of them - russian resistance culture is old and poetic; our literature has always been the main way of opposition, as all the other ones are closed. i guess i simply wish to contribute something from my homeland, if i'm permitted to. again, i don't have high hopes and will absolutely accept your reasoning should you refuse.
(hopefully i'm doing this right - was i supposed to give more/less information, provide the links? i'm sorry if so)
anyway, have a nice day! this competition is a great idea and i'm looking forward to it.
First of all, I want to be very clear about this: this answer is *nothing against the person who sent this ask*. I'm assuming they didn't check what all the artists they mention were up to in the past week.
I won't be including any submissions by Danger Dan or anyone else from Antilopengang. Yes, the song mentioned is a banger. However, Antilopengang has long been at least somewhat Antideutsch, and 5 days ago brought out the song 'Oktober in Europa'. The text of the song is mostly about the increase in antisemitism in Germany and Europe in general lately, a very justified and important complaint, and about antisemitism in the left in particular, which is something often dismissed and ignored and should be talked about more. However, some of the parts of the song that are specifically about the war in Gaza give the impression that the singers consider concern for the well-being of Palestinians to be antisemitism. That conflation muddies an otherwise good message. Which isn't surprising considering their antideutsch position, just disappointing. For this reason, it would be weird to include their songs in a bracket that calls for a boycott of Eurovision. I get the impression they wouldn't want to be.
To answer the question about Russian artists- sure, just make a case for their inclusion! But I ask everyone in *general* to please check the artists you submit- I happen to know this about Antilopengang but I don't know about *most* artists.

you know there are russians who DON'T support russia right. comparing supporting artists who happen to be russian to supporting one specific person who is an absolute shithead is so incredibly stupid I'm amazed at how you can't see that.
I know that OBVIOUSLY it’s not every single russian person. My own grandfather is technically russian yet he is an amazing person and has been living in Ukraine since the 1980s and even made an effort to learn some ukrainian. My family are friends with a russian family that has been living in our neighborhood in Italy for almost a decade now.
But the reason why I’m asking not to support russian artists, especially famous musicians, is because they get money from their views, concerts etc and since they live in russia, they pay taxes to the russian government. Taxes that are used in war against Ukraine, taxes that are used by the government to kill ukrainian people. If you boycott them, russia will have less and less money to pay for war.
And if you’re not eastern european, unfortunately it would be kind of difficult to explain the entire dynamic between russia and the other countries surrounding it, especially Ukraine. Just because a russian person doesn’t support the war, doesn’t mean they’re pro-Ukraine. Maybe they just don’t want their sons/husbands/fathers to be drafted and sent to die, but they don’t mind the annexation of Crimea, or they make fun of the ukrainian language, or theybthink that Ukraine is like “a brother” to russia. There are very specific nuances to these dynamics.

Russia’s crusaders for traditional values have found a new battle, and nudity of all kinds is at stake. The real headline-grabber was rapper Vacio (Nikolai Vasiliev), who wore nothing but socks on his feet and penis. Still, fellow celebrities Filipp Kirkorov, Lolita Milyavskaya, Ksenia Sobchak, and others gave Vacio a run for his money, wearing transparent bodysuits that teased nipples, navels, and buttcracks.
This was the scene at Moscow’s “Mutabor” nightclub on Wednesday, December 20, where blogger and TV presenter Nastya Ivleeva hosted the “Almost Naked” party. A ticket for the evening reportedly cost a cool million rubles ($10,770). Before the bacchanalia was even done, footage from the event started appearing in tabloids and spreading rapidly across social media.
As Internet users gawked and gossiped, there was immediate outrage from conservative activists and pundits, several of whom began lobbying for a police response. Representatives of radical traditionalist groups like “Sorok Sorokov,” “Call of the People,” and the “Federal Project for Security and Anti-Corruption” (FPBK) soon appealed to the Prosecutor General’s Office and other law-enforcement agencies, calling the “Almost Naked” party an “immoral” celebration of the “dark arts” and asking the authorities to investigate its organizers for propagating drug culture and “the gay lifestyle.”
Some have called for administrative charges, while others want a full-on criminal investigation. One of the recurring complaints is that Ivleeva’s festivities come at a time when Russia is busy invading Ukraine, ostensibly in defense of “traditional values” against the onslaught of Western decadence and progressivism.
Ekaterina Mizulina, the head of the Safe Internet League, has campaigned aggressively to purge Russian popular culture of drug references and other unholy cravings. Her objections to “dangerous content” often lead to real consequences for the artists responsible, such as police charges against musician Oxxxymiron and the deportation of rapper Nekoglai. On December 21, Mizulina urged a boycott “at the state level” of the celebrities who attended the “Almost Naked” party. “Our soldiers at the front definitely aren’t fighting for this,” she said. “These raves are like firing a bullet into the foot of the entire policy implemented by the state.”
Other conservatives found the party’s supposed “LGBT” overtones most alarming. Maria Butina is a former gun rights activist who became a television propagandist and federal lawmaker after serving 14 months behind bars in the United States, where she pleaded guilty to felony charges of conspiracy to act as an unregistered foreign agent of the Russian state. On Thursday, writing on official State Duma letterhead in her capacity as a deputy, Butina appealed to the Internal Affairs Ministry, the Cultural Ministry, and Russia’s media regulator, requesting inquiries into the “Almost Naked” party to see if it violated Russia’s ban on “LGBT propaganda” and a November 2022 presidential decree on preserving and strengthening “traditional Russian spiritual and moral values.”
“Listen, they all have children. What kind of example are they setting for their children? All the truest LGBT people gathered there,” moaned FPBK director Vitaly Borodin. “What were they thinking? There’s a special military operation underway. Our society is at a loss.” Borodin also asked Internal Affairs Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev and Moscow Chief of Police Oleg Baranov to dispatch officers to the “Mutabor” nightclub on December 21 to prevent a planned second night of festivities.
When Thursday evening came, the police arrived at Mutabor ahead of most guests, but the authorities didn’t stick around. “Officers collected what materials they needed and left,” said the radio station Govorit Moskva. Round two of the party eventually rolled into action, this time open to the general public at an admission fee of just 2,500 rubles ($27). At the time of this writing, organizer Nastya Ivleeva was absent from the celebration. The Telegram channel Shot reported that the nightclub’s security guards were now asking guests to don additional clothing if their outfits revealed too much skin.
Hours earlier, on Thursday morning (apparently before realizing the scale of conservatives’ outrage and the involvement of law enforcement), Nastya Ivleeva taunted her critics on social media, writing (in a comment that’s since disappeared) that she loves getting hate for staging risque events:
We look at the West and see these beautiful, slim models come out, and we say, “Damn, they’re so beautiful, they’re so cool.” And now our own beautiful, trim artists come out, and everyone’s like, “Fuck, look at this shit. Pop is dead.” God, I love it so much. May it never end.

I hope this James Somerton shit kills many of the same tumblr tropes I've quietly taken grievances at for years after being screamed at and called a conversion therapist and rapist for daring to be an asexual trans man in a relationship with a cis gay man. In no particular order:
All Asian media is inherently homophobic and oppressing western gay media from getting accolades or funded, bonus sinophobic conspiracies and Japanese censorship
Cis het white women fujoshi's to be mad about when it comes to making gay rep and it's consumption
The assumption all trans men and enbys are functionally the same as above and part of a conspiracy to destroy pure gay male culture
Using white women (since many examples turn out not to be so cis and het after all...) as an excuse to be misogynist instead of challenging racist dynamics
Gay Nazis
Sexless Russians
Ew fatties, fascist physique fawning
Fake protests, boycotts and censorship to be mad about when there are real incidents, they're just not always tied into your pet fake facts
Bob Iger
Nobody was sexually expressive before The Beatles, bonus points if you quietly whisper "except Elvis"
"All the good artists died of AIDs leaving the boring straight acting asexuals" fuck you
Bisexual and Asexual means straight
Lesbians always have it better than gay men
"Queer history is unknowable, so I'm a learn you a fake revisionist lesson" gatekeeping and grifting in general
Interest in true crime and particularly Jeffrey Dahmer is a red flag for white woman groupie behavior, homophobia and racism, can be, but come on, man, you're generalizing and also making up incidents to be mad at
Anyway if I have more, I'll add to this list, but I've lost sleep watching 6 hours of video content on fast speed to be up to date on this egregious shit. I also want to acknowledge that it's very possible I've spread some of the above shit unknowingly in the past, thinking maybe the white women as a shield for misogyny part. I try to curate my shit better, talk less and listen more since my initial whipped up anger at Trump voters.
With that said, every transphobic british housewife who told me I'm a raging misogynist who owes women an apology for throwing them under the bus for gay rights (when did this happen?), I'll forward your message to this fucker upstairs.

CULTURE ON THE FRONT LINE
At the Cannes Film Festival, the director Сергей Лозница was awarded the French Culture Award - France Culture for his contribution to film art. Congratulations! Loznitsa made a speech commenting, in particular, the demands to boycott Russian culture. Here's what he said:
Ladies and gentlemen! I am very honored to receive this award. I thank Mrs. Sandrine Trenier and her colleagues from France Culture for appreciating my film work, supporting my views and position.
For all of us, culture is a matter of life, and today we were all on the frontline. On the one hand - those who demand to ban Russian cinema, and to completely "cancel" Russian culture. On the other hand, those who are against the total boycott of culture.
Immediately after the beginning of Russian aggression in Ukraine, I opposed the total ban of Russian cinema and the boycott of Russian culture. Some of my compatriots responded to this demand by boycotting my films - in particular, films about current and past wars - "Donbass", "Maidan", "Babiy Yar". It is amazing that a few years ago the same films - "Donbass" and "Maidan" were already banned. This happened in totalitarian Russia, by order of the FSB. Today Ukrainian "activists" demand to cancel the screenings of these films in the democratic European Union. It is with regret that in some issues their position coincides with the position of the Russian FSB.
Unfortunately, the Cannes Festival ended up on the front line today.
To my knowledge, only once in the 75-year history of the Cannes Festival has its management received a letter from the head of the State Film Foundation demanding the removal of a citizen of that state from its program. This happened in 1969 with Andrei Tarkovsky's film "Andrey Rublev".
This year, the same story happened to my film "Natural History of Destruction" produced in Germany, Lithuania and the Netherlands, which will be premiered the day after tomorrow. A film about the problem that has again become monstrously relevant in the war that Russia is waging in Ukraine: can we use peaceful civilian population and human life space as a resource for war? It turns out that the leaders of organizations supporting Ukrainian cinema are not bothered by this problem. They are only concerned that a citizen of Ukraine dared to express an opinion opposite to the opinion of the majority. They are waging a war on their special front - not where the fate of Europe, modern civilization and perhaps all humanity is decided, but where state building is replaced by the war of cultures, where knowledge of one's own history is replaced by mythology, where freedom of speech and freedom of expression are declared enemy propaganda.
The events of these three military months, and the aggression to which individual cultural institutions have been exposed and are exposed -not only museums, theaters, cinemas, galleries, but also directors, actors, conductors, artists, musicians - require reflection. We need to understand: what is going on? And who needs this?
Language is one of the most important and fundamental categories of culture. In language and with the help of language, human misunderstandings are formed and expressed. The demand to ban culture is equivalent to the demand to ban language. The demand is as immoral as it is insane. How can you ban a language spoken by 350 million people on the globe? I am addressing you now in my native language, which I have spoken in my native city of Kiev since childhood. Most of the refugees from the eastern regions of Ukraine speak this language. In the same language, heroic defenders of Zmeiny island explained to Russian aggressors where they should go. Modern Ukraine is a multinational and multicultural country. The demand for a boycott of Russian language and culture, which is also the achievement and wealth of Ukraine, is archaic and destructive in nature. Instead of putting Russian, the native language of 30 percent of this country's citizens, at the service of Ukraine, telling the truth about the terrible war, "cultural activists" are exhausting themselves with a meaningless, Sisyphus labor - to destroy what is indestructible.
It seems that by "culture" these people mean a simple set of individual works - films, novels, plays, paintings, etc.  But this is not the case.
Culture is human activity in its various manifestations, it is the rituals and practices of our lives, it is the forms and ways of human self-knowledge and self-expression, it is our memory and practices of its preservation and reproduction. And, in the end, culture is cultivation, it's development. I think that all of you - France Culture employees, patrons and friends of this wonderful organization, know this very well. How can you fight against all this? How can you identify the atrocities committed by the current Russian regime (in fact, in the last hundred years in Russia there have been no other regimes than authoritarian, violent ones) with the works of those Russian authors, often outcasts and almost always mourning prophets in their unfortunate homeland, which have become part of the world culture, which means - the property of all humanity? How can you, in response to the barbarities committed by Putin’s regime in Ukraine, demand to destroy or abolish what has always stood against barbarism? This makes no logic or sense.
French philosopher Rene Girard writes: "The object of genuine hatred can only be the person who prevents us from satisfying our desire - even though he himself has inspired it. The hater hates himself first of all, and behind his hatred hides a secret worship. Trying to hide from others and himself this desperate adoration, he refuses to see in his image anything but an obstacle. The secondary role of the sample, thus, comes to the foreground and completely overlaps its original, which was its religious imitation.” What is happening to us? What's going on with culture? I believe that it is through constructive and in-depth discussion, rather than various prohibitions, that it is possible to answer those questions. And if we're talking about cinema, I think that the European Film Academy can be a platform for a nationwide conference with philosophers, anthropologists, film historians, cultural scientists, filmmakers, directors and screenwriters willing to discuss this very serious problem.
Stefan Zweig recalls in his memoirs the atmosphere of the First World War: "France and England were "conquered" in Vienna and Berlin, on the Ringstrasse and Friedrichstrasse. English and French inscriptions were to disappear on the shops; even the monastery "To the Angelic Maids" had to change its name, because the people were outraged, not knowing that the "English" meant angels, not Anglo-Saxons. Naive businessmen pasted stamps on envelopes with the words 'God punish England! ", secular ladies swore that while alive, they would not speak a single word in French. Shakespeare was taken out of German theaters, Mozart and Wagner - from French and English music halls, German professors declared Dante a German, and French - Beethoven, a Belgian, thoughtlessly appropriating spiritual heritage from enemy countries." Does this remind you of anything?
Fate has given me a few years of friendship with the great Irene Weisite, a Lithuanian Jew, rescued from the Kaunas ghetto, a professor of theater science and a specialist of German literature, associate of George Soros and an outstanding public figure. Irena once recalled that in the ghetto she and her teenage friends organized an underground group of German poetry. In the evenings, they would sneak up and read poems by Goethe, Gaine, Schiller to each other. "But how is it so? After all, there was the speech of German executioners around you every day? " - I exclaimed. Irena looked at me with astonishment: "Yes, but what did it have to do with Goethe?! "
Only a few are given such a gift of spiritual wisdom, only a few can reach such humanity, only true heroes are capable of nobility. But each of us, people of culture, have the duty to make an effort to confront barbarism in any of its manifestations. I am often asked - what should an artist do during the war? My answer is simple - preserve common sense and protect the culture.
Thank you.
On May 23, the Cannes Film Festival will host the premiere of Loznica's film "The Natural History of Destruction", edited from archival materials about carpet bombing of European cities during World War II.
