Harrington!reader who struck up a friendship with Billy after finding him crying. It wasn’t long until she developed a crush on the older boy. But she knew she was the least attractive girl in school, and on the cheerleading squad. Every girl was all over him, she never thought he’d see her that way.

I'm so sorry, I got carried away, and I made it super long, SO I HOPE YOU ENJOY AND I HOPE EVERYONE ELSE DOES this has: fluff, angst, mean brother persona on Steve's behalf, OOC Billy Hargrove, soft side.
wc: 8k (i got a lil inspired, no one requests Billy and I love to write him 😭)

Stupid Steve. Stupid school. Stupid fucking stereotypes.
You understand, you get it, the fucking sister of Steve Harrington should be the perfect girl, perfect as her idiotic brother. If only they knew that being in every single sport isn’t what Steve wants, it isn’t what he desires, it isn’t what he always dreamed about.
But it’s not that perfection they want from you, oh no. It’s not your fault you have bad eye sight so you have to wear glasses, and for some reason that made you fucking undesirable. Just because you are wearing glasses, and you’ve been wearing them ever since middle school, where there were minimum problems with it, and now in high school when you just want to be able to date someone, or even kiss, it’s almost impossible because of them.
So yes, you knew people didn’t want to be with you, and you knew that it was all because of the idealization of the Harrington girl not meeting their expectations. Jokes on them, every single fucking guy in school looks like stepped on shit.
When you finally got into freshmen year, you already knew Steve was the most popular guy in school, always boosting about it at the dinner table, father always saying how proud he is for Steve being the captain of almost every fucking imaginable sport. You looked up to Steve, you really did look up to your brother… Until you crossed those forsaken high school doors, and the only face your brother sent you was that of disgust and turned his back on you.
And that sets your fate.
Now as a Junior, your brother finally graduates this year. Ever since he started dating Nancy who is in the same year as you, he has relatively changed. At home, he now tries to invite you to hang with him at the mall, or tell you to have dinner together when your parents aren’t home… You declined his invitation every time. You prefer to eat dinner in your bed, alone, while he drives away to be with Nancy. Just you, your books, and some good music. You are fine.
It doesn’t help the fact that you have just one friend at school, and she’s not even always with you because she is Nancy’s Best Friend. Barb was always nice to you, and it’s the only one you talked to in class, because then in cheerleading practice, which you had to enter because you needed extracurricular credit because your parents said so, you were given the cold shoulder by every teammate there. You didn’t participate in the cheers really, you just wear the uniform every now and then and pass them bottles of water.
You just have to survive one year, just one more year and you can go to college, probably start anew, meet people, meet someone. You fixed your glasses on the bridge of your nose as you took notes while sitting at the bleachers, hearing the squeak of the tennis shoes of all the boys in the basketball team just going around. You hear a thump, making your eyes look up to see your brother laying on the floor, making you frown.
Then it made sense, as Billy Hargrove smirked, helping your brother stand up again.
You knew that he wanted to take Steve’s position as the most popular guy at school, getting prom king and all that shit. You have heard your brother complaining about him on the phone sometimes, maybe to Nancy or to one of his friends. From what you’ve seen, Billy looked like a tough and irritating guy, and there is no need for you to get close to him at all, and you really could care less about what he does to your brother.
And that is basically your everyday life. Invisible, and you’re fine with that.
You’re fine.

“Hey, can you believe that guy?” Your head snapped up to see your brother at your door, leaning against the frame with his arms crossed over his chest. You raised your eyebrow at him, looking back down at your book. “If he takes away my captainship in the team, I will– Dad will fucking cut my head off.”
“That’s what you get for following his dreams from day one.” You mumble in a low tone, but he caught onto it, frowning at you.
“I have my own dreams. I don’t follow his.” You nodded at that while still not looking at him. You really could care two shits about all of this.
“Maybe Nancy can help you with this kinda stuff. I'm busy.” You heard shuffling at the door and then a sigh. You heard steps and you raised your head to hear him slam his door shut, and you knew he was probably getting ready to go to a party or something because of the music he started playing on his radio. Not once you were invited to one of those, not even by your own brother. He had hosted parties before, and you were commanded to stay in your room all night. The only time you came out of your room was to the bathroom to pee, and even then you had to wait because people were always making out inside.
You got up from bed, closed the biology book to then set it on your desk, looking over to your library of VHS’s tilting your head to check what to watch tonight. You picked Terms of Endearment and Sixteen Candles. Your collection was full of romance and dramatic movies because it’s just your favorite genre to watch. Same with your books, your favorite being Sense & Sensibility.
Steve left after a few minutes, and you made your way down to start your Friday movie night, and tomorrow will be the same, next weekend too. You should get more movies, you are on a roll of rewatching stuff by now. But it was at this moment, when you put the cassette into your player, and you finally sat down and started watching Sixteen Candles that it all simply fell apart.
Your rough facade crumbles down as you see the romance of the characters on screen, the friendship that is displayed in these movies, late calls with friends, kicking your feet because the guy you liked kissed you, or even called you to spend time with you. You stare absentmindedly at the screen as you see the kissing scene finally happening and your fingertips brush over your lips, just softly, tracing the shape of them.
After a few hours Steve finally returns home, completely sober and cursing under his breath. He sees the light of the living room turned on and some blue light shining on. He walked inside to find you asleep on the couch with the TV still on. He sighed, walking over to turn it off but then his eyes looked at your form, making his face completely fall down.
He bent over your figure to see the dried tears on your cheeks, falling down onto the couch. He looked over to the coffee table to look at what you were watching, getting hold of the case. You watch the same movie every Friday night… And every Saturday night. He rubbed his mouth with a frown to his face as he looked back at your frame. And he always repeats the same action every Friday night and every Saturday night.
He stands up to grab the blanket that’s over the couch to put it over your body, and with tears in his eyes he bends over to press a soft kiss at the top of your head with a quiet whisper that he always repeats and that you never hear, not that you would believe him anyway.
“I’m sorry.”

Monday came way faster than you expected, and the morning was even quicker. Your parents were still away on their business trip, but Steve and you knew they were just out on vacation by themselves. Why have children when you just push them aside?
You take out the lunch bag with your sandwiches in it, and you walk out of the school doors and into the football field which was deserted because it was lunch time, so it always gave you the best opportunity to head behind the bleachers to have some peaceful time for yourself, and that was until you almost dropped your bag as you screamed and flinched when you saw someone already there who snapped his head back at you.
Billy Hargrove.
Your breathing was heavy and your eyes were still trying to focus from the scare but as soon as they did you realized that Billy’s eyes were filled with tears, one or two might have escaped because you could see the glistening trail that they left behind on his cheeks. You were trying to talk to him, but then his eyebrows furrowed together, a tight angry look on his face.
“The fuck you looking at Harrington?” You flinched back at that, annoyance switching inside of you instead of fear. This guy was crying and has the audacity to sound threatening?
“Oh, right, sorry, it’s just seeing Billy Hargrove actually having feelings is a sight.” His eyes snapped wide at your response, surprise crossing his features while he stared at you this time. “Who’s staring now?”
“Oh, right, sorry, it’s just that hearing you fucking talk for once is a sight.” You were taken aback by his response, mimicking yours. You sucked on your right cheek in annoyance as he wiped his cheeks away.
“Well, off you go.” He snaps his head at you, a frown on his features to then letting a smirk spread on his lips.
“I came here first. You go.” You scoff at that, shaking your head at him.
“No, I always come here at lunchtime, it’s my place.”
“Well, that’s lonely as fuck.” You know that. You fucking know that, he doesn’t need to say it to your face, not the heartthrob of the school. Before your heart could turn in pain you nod at him.
“Fine, take it for today.” You turn to finally walk away. Maybe you can eat at the picnic table in the forest? But sometimes the stoner would go there to deal, and you weren’t judging Munson really, you gotta do what you gotta do to survive.
“Wait.” You stopped on your tracks and slowly turned around to see Billy slumping down on the ground, his back resting against a column of the bleachers while he rested his forearms on his bent knees. “You can stay here if you don’t tell anyone you saw me like this.”
Who would you even tell this to? He might be scared that you would tell Steve about it, but Billy seems to not know you don’t actually have a good relationship with your brother, and you have just one casual friend in this school. You look in between the bleachers and towards the woods and then you look back at Billy, giving a sigh and finally sitting down with your legs crossed.
It was silent between you two, almost uncomfortable but not quite. You were eating your sandwich and you took out a bottle of water out of your bag too. You glanced once at him, and he was looking at the distance, just breathing slowly. You wanted to know what happened to him, because he didn’t seem like the guy that would cry easily. He looked at you, raising an eyebrow up at you.
“Why do you eat here?” He asks and you clear your throat, taking a sip of your water.
“Why were you crying?”
“Touché.” You gave a nod in understanding. You weren’t going to talk to him if he wasn’t going to talk to you. You looked inside your bag to grab onto the other sandwich, and you handed it to him. He looked at it with a frown and then back at you.
“If you’re here it means you didn’t eat. Basketball players need food.” You calmly say to him and he looks down at the sandwich, taking it from your hands, and then taking a bite out of it, grimacing in disgust.
“What the fuck is in this?” He looks down into it and you smirk at him, finishing off your own.
“Mustard and pickle sandwich.”
He ate the sandwich anyway. It was nice to eat lunch with someone for once, even if that person was Billy Hargrove and it would be a one time thing in your life… Though, it wasn’t. Billy was back behind the bleachers almost everyday after that. He wasn’t at all that persona that he was with everyone else with you. The cocky insufferable bastard you knew was all a mask, and you could see it when he told you about how Tammy Thompson tried to hide a fart with her cough in class.
“You’re fucking kidding…” You were giggling, covering your mouth as you both sat in front of one another, and the closeness slowly shrinking as two weeks went by of eating lunch with him.
“I am not, she actually thought it was discreet, but I heard it. Not that I said anything about it, but it was a total boner killer.” You raised an eyebrow at that, swallowing your apple that you were having as dessert.
“What, girls can’t fart Hargrove?” He rolls his eyes at you and then raises his hand to flick your forehead, making you wince and rub the skin he left in a red state.
“I didn’t say that. When you trust someone enough to do it in their face, sure. Not in the middle of class, and much less when you are a chair in front of mine.” At that you let out a laugh, throwing your head back. He chuckled and took a swig of his cigarette, blowing the smoke to the side so it wouldn’t hit your face.
“God, I really don’t pay attention to shit like that.” You took another bite of your apple and Billy was still looking at you, clearing his throat, making you look up at him.
“What do you do on Friday nights? I mean, your brother is at every single party but you are nowhere to be found.” He asks you and you feel your cheeks flush slightly at that. You look down at your apple and swallow your bite.
“I often watch movies. Have my own movie nights, sometimes with popcorn, and if I am feeling fancy, S’mores.” You gave him a small smile as you took another sip of water but Billy was still looking at you with a frown to his eyebrows.
“By yourself?” And you suddenly felt embarrassment washing over you. How pathetic were you? He is a guy that has every student in this school eating at the palm of his hand, plans of going out somewhere almost everyday, a date every single night, and you just watched movies and read books for company.
“I– I have to go.” You suddenly blurt out, standing up abruptly to then wipe your jeans from the dirt of the floor. Billy was following suit, doing the same thing, and about to stop you, but you were already walking away. You didn’t need the reminder of how stupid all of your life sounded. You didn’t need it from him. You were always reminded of it by your father, saying that you should be more like his son. Your mother says that at her age she already dated someone and had tons of friends. Steve showing off his new relationship and friends to you, keeping you in the shadows from everyone.
You didn’t need more reminders.
So when you got home, and realized Steve was already out of sight, probably at Heather’s party, you took your time to shower, put on some comfy sweatpants, a white t-shirt and a gray hoodie, and you grabbed your movies and went downstairs. Maybe they will cheer you up from all the stuff that has happened with Billy today. It’s stupid, you both don’t talk to each other all day, yet at lunch you just talk non-stop.
Sweet popcorn was today’s choice and you were already salivating at the smell of it all. Once it was done you put it in a bowl and headed over to the living room, turning the TV on, and putting Pretty in Pink in your VHS. Steve must be getting drunk with his friends by now, dancing to Roxette or something like that. You popped a single popcorn in your mouth and you were about to press play but you were interrupted when glass knocking was heard from the sliding door to the garden.
You jumped up in fear, eyes widened as you quickly turned your head and saw Billy fucking Hargrove outside the doors. You blinked once, twice, three times. Wasn’t he at Heather’s party too? You stood up from your seat, blushing at your attire but he already saw you in it, no time to actually go change. You fixed your glasses at the bridge of your nose as you walked towards the doors to finally unlock them and open a side for him.
“What the fuck are you doing here Billy!” You almost screamed at him, but he raised his hands up in a surrender mode and chuckled at you.
“By that yelling I am assuming your parents are still gone. Let me in, I’m fucking freezing.” He walks past you and you scoff at the nerve of this man. You close the door and you see him looking around with his hands inside his black leather jacket. Your eyes trailed downwards for a second, taking in how tight his pants were, but you snapped out of it, walking around him so that you were facing him.
“What are you doing here?” You ask again and he simply shrugs, still looking all around your house.
“Party was lame as shit, and you said there was a movie night here tonight. That seemed far more interesting than Tommy trying to do a keg stand and falling onto it, breaking his nose.” He walks to the couch, sitting down on it and he immediately grabs the bowl of popcorn from the coffee table. Your mouth hangs open again at this, going to the couch and sitting down next to him.
“You– I don’t need your pity.” You say to him, looking down at your hands as you played with the hem of the sleeves of your hoodie. He chuckles at that and shakes his head.
“Sweetheart, I don’t pity anyone. The party was really fucking boring.” He takes a popcorn in his mouth and he hums at the sweetness. You raise an eyebrow to look at him. You never thought Billy Hargrove would be on the sweet side of stuff. “So, what are we watching?”
A smirk formed on your lips. He was gonna fucking hate it, that’s what he gets for barging in your house.
Yet–
“I fucking hated Duckie.” You were wide eyed at him. He had paid complete attention to the movie, even giving small commentary that he really liked the fact that the girl stood up for herself. He turns to look at you, a frown coming to his eyebrows. “What?”
“I just… I didn’t think you like this genre of movies.” You reply to him, a little bit nervous for some reason and he smiles at you and then looks back at the screen.
“I never watched one of these. They have a lot of plot, and they’re interesting.” Your eyes sparkled in excitement and you grabbed his shoulder, which made him look at you alarmingly.
“You’re in for a ride.”
Tumblr media
Billy came back again the next day, taking the chance that Steve was out at Nancy’s for the night. He then sneaked into your room while Steve slept and you played Grease on your small TV and VHS that were on top of your dresser. He actually enjoyed it, but despised it because it was a musical. The next time, he actually came through the front door, and you both finally watched Sixteen Candles together. Now, Saturday Night, Steve was at Nancy’s for a family dinner and Billy was taking out two beers from the six pack he came with.
“I don’t drink…” You say to him and he raises an eyebrow up at you.
“Daily or weekly, but you have tried alcohol. One beer is not going to kill you Sweetheart.” You nodded at that and you grabbed onto the can, sitting back down on the couch. You opened it as Billy walked towards you and plopped down with a huff, already taking a swig out of his can. You grimaced at yours and you took a tentative sip, lowering the can to look at him, completely disgusted by the taste and he simply threw his head back in laughter.
“Disgusting.” You say to him and he shrugs at you, sending a smile your way.
“It’s an acquired taste baby, you just keep drinking it, if you feel fuzzy you can leave it.” You felt your heart accelerate at him, feeling the butterflies exploding in your stomach. You didn’t know when your relationship with Billy took a turn for the better, but he actually sends a smile your way this time when walking down the halls, he sometimes greets you when you pass by him in the hallways, like he is not making it seem like he doesn’t know you.
So it was hard not to fall for him. It was undeniable at this point, and even if he was strong and mean, and an ultimate bully to everyone else, he comes here to your house, watches romantic comedies with you, eats popcorn with you, and you two talk about nonsense all evening. Nobody knows about this, and you’re happy to have this secret between the two of you. You can live in the fantasy a little bit longer.
“What did you bring?” You look at the cassette he got and you look at the front of it. You grimaced again and showed it to him. “The terminator?”
“Classic sweetheart, it’s an action movie, you gotta expand your movie knowledge a bit.” You didn’t want to complain, it was the first time Billy suggested to watch something he likes, and in reality you were interested in knowing it, and hopefully like it the way he does.
News flash, you didn’t like it.
“Why are there so many guns?! It's unnecessary!” You complain, your beer gone and you do feel a little fuzzy but not too much. You just felt giddy. He laughed at your side and shook his head as he drank his second can.
“That’s what action movies are, baby, they are irrational, little to nothing of plot, and shooting everywhere.” He says and you sigh at that, shaking your head. The room filled with silence as Billy looked forward, his smile slowly disappearing. “You know why I come here often?”
You straightened at that, blinked with confusion as you turned to look at him. You frowned when you saw how serious he got, just out of nowhere, and your belly turned for him, not in a romantic way, but more of a worry kind of nervousness.
“Because parties now bore you?” You ask him and he gives you one chuckle and then shakes his head, resting it on the backrest of the couch, looking at the ceiling.
“You help me distract myself.” He took a deep breath in as you kept looking at him and you knew it was something he was having a hard time talking about. “The day you saw me crying… I was actually afraid.”
“What?”
“My father… Let’s just say he has– a rough hand. Any slip up I make, I just get a punch out of it… I’m just so angry all the time, so unlike my fucking self and who I actually am when I am at school. I just let out my anger towards people, because I cannot take it out on my own father.” You could see his Adam's apple bobbing up and down, and you knew he was trying to choke back tears as he talked. Your heart just knotted at seeing him like this, feeling helpless, not knowing what to actually tell him.
“Billy–”
“And you… I tried to be mean to you… And you actually had the guts that no one had at this school yet. Talk back to me.” His head turned to finally look at you again and your eyes burned at his confession. “I couldn’t be mean to you… With you I can— I can be calm, watch a movie, talk about how creepy that Creel house is and how we should sabotage it– I mean, the only thing I talk with the people from school? Chicks, sex, cars, alcohol.”
You couldn’t help the small smile that appeared on your lips, turning your whole body to face him, your legs coming to rest on top of the couch too, bending them and resting your side on the backrest.
“Well, I am glad I could help in some way… My house is always open for you Billy.” His eyes were just staring into yours now, the only thing being heard in the room were your breaths, until he finally talked.
“Can I kiss you?”
What?
There is no possible way you heard that from him. This is a dream, it has to be a dream. There is no way Billy Hargrove, your now friend, your crush, the guy you like has asked to actually kiss you. This only happens in movies, in books, and it never happens in real life, at least, not to you.
“W-Why would you want to kiss me?” And Billy’s features turned into saddened ones at your words. Don’t you realize how beautiful you are? He straightened up on the couch, his body turning to face you as well as both of your hearts jumped out of your chest.
“Why wouldn’t I want to kiss you?” was his short answer. Your belly turned in pure nervousness now as your body grew a cold sweat. You never kissed anyone, and Billy seemed to know how to do it, and you were just too inexperienced. A flush came over all of your body as you fixed the glasses on the bridge of your nose and you looked down to avoid his gaze.
“I– I never–” You gulped, not being able to finish the phrase from how stupid it sounded. A warm hand was pressed on your cheek, making you lift your head up to look at him again, and you didn’t realize how close he got to you, his blue eyes staring into yours.
“I ask you again… Can I kiss you?” And you finally give him a nod. You weren’t going to miss this chance, not for one second. He still wants to kiss you despite you not knowing what you were getting yourself into. He smiled at you and grabbed onto your glasses, pulling them off your face and setting them on the coffee table. “They were just going to get in the way.”
You took a shaky breath in, his hand still on your cheek as he slowly leaned down towards you. You closed your eyes and his remained open to remember your features as he finally does what he has been wanting to do for the past weeks. At first it was a simple attraction of course, but he knew it was more than that, and he was scared as shit about it… But he never wanted someone as much as he’s been wanting you.
His lips connected with yours in a soft peck, brief, and you let a breath go out of your lips, only for another peck to land. Then another, then another that lingered there a bit more, and then the next one he just stayed there, and suddenly started moving his lips, guiding you as your heartbeat made you deaf in your ears. How do people do this and not faint at the spot?
The lip smacking was heard in the room as your hands finally were brave enough to travel, one scanning his bicep, the other one moving towards the back of his neck, feeling his skin under your fingertips. His free hand landed on your waist, not pressing too hard so that you know that he is being mindful of you. At this point, Billy would already be inside someone, satisfying his needs, but with you… He wasn’t going to do that, at least not now, not yet, and that is if you let him.
He wants to take care of you.
He pulled away for a second, his lips touching yours still as your breathing mixed with one another’s in soft pants. You were feeling as if you were burning all over, not knowing what was happening with you. You never felt like this before, and maybe it has to do with the fact that not only was Billy good looking, but you also feel more than just friendship for him.
“You okay?” You nod frantically at him, wanting more, giving him a peck on the lips making him chuckle in a low tone. “Sorry baby, but I need more.”
He suddenly pushed you back on the couch, crawling over you and you didn’t even think, you just wrapped your arms around his shoulders, and he kept his bottom half away from yours, even if it pained him on his thighs from the strength he was doing to keep himself up. His lips connected with yours again, rougher this time, more desperate, the kiss suddenly turning into a very heated one as he suddenly licks your bottom lip a few times.
The butterflies in your belly explode as you open your mouth and his tongue finally slides in. You gasp at the feeling, your hands finding his biceps through his blouse, and you felt his chain hitting your neck at every movement. One hand was still gripping on your waist, while the other remained at your nape, pulling you deeper into the kiss.
You really can’t believe this is happening, not to you, not with Billy, it doesn’t make sense that he looked your way, it doesn’t make sense that he actually wants to kiss you, not when he has Heather on his tail all the time, or Carol even if she is dating Tommy. Or Janet. You always hear them talking about him in the bathroom, always planning their move on him, and this feels you with a sense of power, with a sense of accomplishment and pride in yourself.
Your hands ran through his hair and he groaned into the kiss, and that ignited so many things inside of you that you never felt in your life, and you wanted to hear more of it. Billy was trying his best to keep himself in a hovering position with you, but he was finding it harder and harder to do so. He can’t go on, at least not today when it was your first kiss. He didn’t want to scare you, even if your urges were the same as his, because he could feel your need to pull him even closer.
The door suddenly clicked and both of your eyes snapped wide open, pulling away, looking at one another, panting heavily. Best scenario, it's your parents, and they would be thrilled that you actually, and finally, have someone over at your house… Now, worst case scenario–
“What the ACTUAL FUCK?!” You both sat up on the couch to look over at Steve, who was standing there in the living room, wide eyed, and his face reddened bit by bit. Shit.
“Steve–” You started talking but he raised his hand at you, to then point a finger at Billy.
“Get the fuck off my sister.” You wanted to roll your eyes at this, because why is he acting all protective now? You finally got some action in your fucking life and he wants to take it away from you.
“I don’t think she wants me to leave.” Billy dares to say, glaring at your brother who took a look at the coffee table, seeing the cans of beer. His mind started racing, and Billy followed his gaze, his mouth opening to talk but Steve was running up the stairs already. Your eyes widened and you pushed Billy off, standing up quickly and urging him to do the same.
“You have to leave!” You were trying to push Billy towards the front door but his feet were still planted against the floor with a frown to his face, and your head snapped to the stairs to see Steve running back down with his baseball bat in his hands. Billy’s eyes widen when Steve starts to approach him with a swinging motion.
“Taking fucking advantage of my sister is something I won’t take from you Hargrove, so get the fuck out of my house before I crush your skull in!”
“Shit, Harrington– Fucking listen for a second–” Steve’s baseball bat hits the backrest of the couch, and you could see the dent of the wooden under it that he created. Billy ripped himself off you and gave you a look as if asking if you were okay.
“I’ll talk to him, you go.” You tell him and he gulps, looking back at Steve with a threatening look on his face which Steve only scoffed at.
“I’ll talk to you later.” Billy says with a small squeeze to your hand as he walks out of the house, passing by Steve. Your brother follows him to the front door and he doesn’t walk back inside until Billy drives away with his Camaro. After the roaring engine can be heard in the distance, Steve slams the door shut, throwing the bat at the floor and stomping back into the living room where you were standing there with a glare on your eyes as if you were about to kill him.
“When I saw his fucking car out in front of the house I thought it was a stupid coincidence, and I come in here to see you about to have sex with the sluttiest man in the goddamn school! What are you thinking!?” You frown in anger at that, stepping towards him.
“I am his friend! I wasn’t going to have sex with him, and he wasn’t taking fucking advantage of me! I drank ONE beer, ONE!” You yell back at him and he fake laughs as he runs his hand over his face.
“The first time you have a guy in this house, and it is Billy FUCKING Hargrove. The one guy that I am fighting with for Captain at our basketball team, the one guy that gives me the hardest fucking time of my life at the moment, and you want me to just accept that he wants to be with you because he WANTS TO?” Your chest hurt at those words, your own coming out in soft stutters at Steve’s blind rage.
“He even asked me if I wanted to, and I said yes–”
“God, you cannot be this fucking stupid! He hates me, makes my life a living hell, and you seriously think that he is a nice guy!? You really think there is no ulterior motive!?” He yelled at you and his words were stabbing you in every part of your body, your head already spinning from how harsh he was being with you.
“Why? Is it impossible that he actually wants to be with me?” You try to say loudly at him, even if your fingers start to feel numb. He scoffed at that, looking at you.
“Yes, and I don’t think you are dumb enough to not see that.” He was referring to so many other things, and it was regarding Billy’s persona, in Billy’s actions, in his rivalry with him… And when he saw your tear rolling down your face, his anger evaporated as if water was being thrown at him.
“Okay…” Was your defeated response. You turned around to retrieve your glasses from your coffee table and Steve winced, clenching his eyes tightly together as pain rushed through his body.
“That wasn’t what I meant– Hey, listen to me, I really didn’t mean it to sound like that–” But you weren’t listening, putting the cassettes back into their cases and turning off the TV. You grabbed them and walked past him, going up into your room. Steve stood there, knowing he hurt you once again, not knowing what to do but run a hand through his hair, cursing under his breath as he started pacing back and forth.
He didn’t mean it to sound like no guy would want you, he didn’t mean it at all like that, yet the words coming out of his mouth betrayed him, completely. He doesn’t know how to make it up to you, because if he had given you the chance to go to the parties with him when you asked in your freshman year, many times, and told you yes instead of no, you would have more experiences, you might even have friends. If only he had let you come out of your room at his own parties when you asked him, almost begged him to let you participate, but he declined each time. Then in your sophomore year, you didn’t ask anymore, just accepted that he wasn’t going to tell you anymore about them, and you automatically locked the door whenever he hosted a party.
This year, he tried to invite you, many times. You always declined. You didn’t even want to eat dinner with him, and he knows you want to leave the house as soon as possible thanks to him. Even with your parents. For the past two years he had been so blind because of his father’s approval and the one of all the students in Hawkins High that he didn’t notice how your parents didn’t ask you stuff at dinner. All questions were always directed to him. He noticed this year, and he tried to tell them you had nailed your exams, and the only thing you got from your father was ‘As she should.’
He was the cause of who you were now. Not at all the bubbly and animated girl that asked him to raise her up like an airplane in their backyard, not at all the small girl that put makeup on him pretending she was a stylist, not at all the middle school girl that got excited to see him whenever she got home from school to tell him about what she learned that day.
He walked up the stairs and raised his hand to knock on your door, only to hear soft sobs on the other side, muffled. He wonders if you had also cried when he denied you all those times. He doesn’t know how to even make it up to you. He doesn’t know if he even can.
So the next day, when you didn’t come out of your room, he let you have your alone time. Now on Monday he tried knocking on your door, only to receive the notice that you felt sick. He tried walking in but your door was completely locked. His eyebrows twitched and his mind had come up with a plan. A plan he will terribly hate. A plan that might end up badly for him. But it’s what he deserves for what he did to you.

Billy looked everywhere for you, and even asked Barbara Holland where you could be. She told him that she hadn’t seen her at Science that day either, so his best guess was that you had skipped school. His jaw clenched when he asked other people about you and some of them didn’t even know what you looked like. He waited for the bell to ring, and he was going to tumble Steve down if he had to in order to see you. He didn’t care.
But when he walked out of the school doors to rush to his Camaro, he was surprised to see Steve Harrington sitting on his trunk with his arms crossed. Billy’s eyes hardened at the sight, walking towards him, tilting his head in question at the brown haired boy who was looking at Billy with a mix of emotions behind his eyes.
“Harrington. Get off my fucking car.” He says and Steve gulps as he looks to the side.
“I fucked up.” At that Billy’s eyebrows turned into a frown, but his fists started clenching as Steve kept talking, telling him everything, everything he did to you, and what he had said to you that night when Billy left.
While this was happening, you were combing your hair after the shower you took while sitting on your bed. You had taken a shower because you were greasy from yesterday already, and you really didn't want to get up, but you didn’t have a choice. Ever since Steve said that, you didn’t have the guts to actually call Billy because at some far away place in your mind, it made sense.
You were invisible, and suddenly you were noticed? It doesn’t sound real.
So maybe it wasn’t. Maybe it really was to get into your pants to mess with your brother, and that was honestly the most reasonable explanation for it. You frowned when you heard the door open downstairs, your door was left open so you could hear some drawers being open, to then hear steps coming up the stairs. Your eyes widened when you saw Steve slamming himself against the door frame of your room.
His eye was completely inflamed from a punch received to the face, his nose was bleeding and he was holding some ice covered in a rug to soak the blood in it. From what you could see, his lip was busted as well and his breathing was coming out of his mouth, almost in a pant.
“Steve, what happened?” Even in your hatred for him, seeing him this way made your heart fill with worry, pushing all of the other feelings aside. You were about to rise from the bed until Steve raised his hand up at you.
“I deserved it.” He looked towards the hallway and your eyes widened when you saw Billy coming into view, a pack of frozen peas on his right hand, his eyes glaring at Steve as he passed by him and into your room. His eyes turned to yours and you couldn’t help but look up at him, completely stunned. Steve groans and closes the door for you two as he heads downstairs.
“What… Did you…?” You stutter as you sit back on your bed, seeing Billy’s injured hand as he sat on your bed too, nodding as he looked at you.
“I sure as hell did. Fucker deserved it. He told me everything, from the very beginning, and also what he said to you on Saturday night right after I left.” You feel your face flush with embarrassment and you look down at your hands again. You are not understanding what is going on, nor why Steve would go and tell your life story to Billy. “Though I have to say… Your brother does care for you.” You scoff at that.
“Right. Like he cared for me the past two years.” You reply with venom in your voice and you feel Billy scoot closer to you.
“He knows. He knows what he did to you. Your freshman year was the punch on the eye, your sophomore year was on his lip… And what he said on Saturday was the one on the nose.” He lets out a chuckle and you feel mixed emotions to that. You were happy that he defended your honor, but Steve was still your brother and you didn’t want physical harm to come to him.
“Don’t punch him again… Please.” You slowly looked up at Billy and his blue eyes were already looking at you. Your heart rate picked up the longer he stared at you.
“Do you really believe what he said to you that night?” He asks you, a small worried tone behind his voice. You feel yourself gulp and you look away in embarrassment or nervousness, you no longer know.
“I– After years of feeling this way, it was a very possible scenario.” You say to him in a low voice, your fingers playing with each other. You see him put the bag of peas away, and his hands look for yours. You look down to see his right hand completely bruised up, some skin completely chipped off on his knuckles. You gasp at that and his hold gets stronger on you, making you look up at him. He was closer now, making your breathing get stuck in your throat.
“How can I prove to you that I want you? How can I prove to you that I like you, that I like you very much that I drive myself insane with this fucking feeling, because god knows I am not good with relationships…” For the first time you see a blush come to his cheeks, and his gaze looks down at your connected hands, like how you do when you get nervous. “But I wanna try that with you.”
Your heart leapt out of your mouth almost, not truly believing what was happening, but the bruised knuckles made it more real, the blush on his cheeks made you realize it was no dream at all. This man in front of you wants you, despite it all, and you both have so many broken pieces to pick up inside one another, but you figure that you can help each other. You can mend his heart back, as he can mend yours.
“I think… The first step would be a date…” You say to him almost in a whisper and he chuckles as he looks up at you. He squints slightly at that as if in thought as your smile grows on your face while looking at him.
“I have an idea for it. I think they are showcasing the new Rambo movie.” He says to you with a smirk to his face and your mouth fell open at that, shaking your head.
“I am not watching an action movie on our first date!” He chuckles at that, his face coming closer to yours slowly, and you feel magnetized to him as you both leaned into one another.
“Oh, I bet you prefer the one where the bad boy goes for the intelligent and perfect girl, that genre, right?” You squint at him, pretending to be offended by his words.
“Don’t act like you don’t like those movies Hargrove.” At that he chuckles, his left hand snaking to the back of your neck to pull you closer to him, a soft breath hitting your lips as he talks.
“I might have a thing for romance.” His lips touched yours again, and you smiled through the kiss, your own hands resting on the back of his head to pull him deeper into the kiss, to taste him even better. Your lips moved along with his, taking in eachother’s breaths, bodies coming closer at each second.
“Don’t fuck my sister, I draw the line there. Not today, not with me here.” You both heard Steve’s voice behind the door, making Billy groan in annoyance and pull away from you to glare at the door as the steps could be heard and another door closes down the hallway.
“I am punching him again.” Billy says and you were glaring at the door too.
“My turn.”

Steve having a little sister (who’s like a first-time) senior who has a crush on Eddie. But she’s a cheerleader, her parents expect her to marry an Ivy League, senator’s son or something. She kept her crush a secret until Jason calls him a freak in front of the whole cafeteria- and she punches him.
I had so much fun writing this request! I hope you enjoy what I've come up with, and if you notice the joke I stole from Glee, no you didn't. Reader’s race is not specified and she could be adopted because adoption is a wonderful, amazing thing. Harrington!reader and Eddie 4ever.

“Mr. Munson, late again, I see.”
Mrs. O’Donnell heaves a disappointed sigh as Eddie gives her an over the top smile.
“Sorry, had a meeting with the principal. He wanted to know why you gave me detention again.”
Mrs. O’Donnell frowns. “I didn’t give you detention.”
“Oh, phew,” Eddie says as he slides into his seat. “Glad to hear it. I’ll try and be on time next time.”
The class lets out a titter of laughter as Mrs. O’Donnell rolls her eyes and turns back to the board. The dopey grin is stuck on your face as you lean forward in your seat. Resting your upper body on your desk, you bite your bottom lip as you look Eddie up and down. From your vantage point, you can only see the back left side of him, but you’ll stare at that for the entirety of the class period if you can.
“Miss Harrington?”
Begrudgingly, you tear your gaze away from Eddie’s glorious hair and see Mrs. O’Donnell watching you impatiently.
“Um, yes?”
“I was wondering if you’d like to enlighten us about the Stamp Act?” the elderly woman says.
“Uh…” you trail off, mind suddenly blank of everything that isn’t Eddie Munson. “I would not.”
A few people in the class let out snorts of laughter, but Eddie barks out the most beautiful sound you’ve ever heard. It makes your stomach fizzle, and your head feel all floaty. Even O’Donnell’s disapproving scowl can’t dampen your giddiness.
The rest of class, you’re riding on a high. You made Eddie laugh. Out of all the accomplishments in your life, you’re not sure if one has ever meant more to you. Making honor roll? Eh. Becoming a cheerleader? So what? Doesn’t compare to making the cutest guy you’ve ever seen laugh.
Okay, you tell yourself. When class is over, you’re going to talk to him. The bell rings, and you’re scrambling to get your things together. Tossing them into your bag, you sling it over your shoulder and follow Eddie out of the classroom.
“H-Hey, Eddie?” you manage.
He turns his head to look over his shoulder and gives you a smile that has your heart stuttering.
“Hey, Harrington. What’s up?”
“Did you see A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2?” you ask, somehow not stumbling over your words. You’d had Steve bring the VHS tape home for you to watch just so you could ask Eddie about it.
“Freddy’s Revenge?” Eddie asks, wrinkling his nose up. “Such a letdown after the first one.”
“Yeah,” you say with a chuckle. “The first one was pretty good. This one made me want to fall asleep.”
“Ironic,” Eddie says with a smirk. He opens the school door for you, and you give him a grateful smile as you step out into the parking lot. You watch as he digs his keys out of his pocket. “See you tomorrow, Harrington.”
“Bye, Eddie.” You’re staring at him as he walks away, and you know you need to stop. But how can you when his ass looks the way it does in his jeans? Once he hops into his van, the trance is broken, and you make your way to your brother waiting in his car at the other end of the parking lot.
You groan as you yank open the car door and slip inside. Steve looks less than thrilled himself, but it has nothing to do with you. Your parents are forcing the two of you to join them at a company party tonight, which both of you are vehemently against. But Steve was tasked with picking you up from school, taking you home so both of you can get ready, then to the party.
“Think I can fake an epileptic seizure and get out of this?” Steve asks on the way home.
“You’re not epileptic,” you say.
“That’s why I said ‘fake’ it,” Steve says with a scoff.
“They’d find a way to make you come anyway,” you say, crossing your arms over your chest.
Tumblr media
The party is just as horrible as you and your older brother imagined it would be. You’re forced into an itchy blue dress and Steve looks like he’s about two seconds away from ripping his tie off. The stuffy guests walk around with their noses in the air, only deigning to talk to those they deem successful enough. You want to throw yourself out of one of the windows as you see your parents approaching you with an older couple that they’ll probably expect you to remember from somewhere.
“Well, look at you,” the older man says. “All grown up.” The way he says it makes a shiver go down your spine.
“You must have all the boys chasing after you,” his wife says with a wink. It’s like they’re competing to see who can make you the most uncomfortable. Before you can open your mouth to speak, your mom jumps in.
“Oh, we have high hopes for her,” she says with a chuckle. “Going to go to Yale or Stanford and find her an Ivy League man to settle down with.”
And when exactly did we decide this? you think to yourself.
“Someone well-to-do,” your father adds. “A senator’s son, maybe. Who knows? We could be raising a future First Lady here.”
You want to gag. Steve must sense your temper rising, because he rests a hand on your shoulder and gives it a reassuring squeeze.
“Remember us when you’re famous,” the older man says.
I don’t even remember you right now. The words are on the tip of your tongue, but your dad changes the subject to something about profit reports.
Tumblr media
Steve drives the two of you home before your parents, the two of them insisting they were going to stick around a little longer. The minute you get into your room, you throw your heels towards your closet. Your brother hears you banging around and comes to stand in your doorway, leaning against the doorframe and crossing his arms over his chest. He’s taken his tie off and undone the first few buttons of his white button up shirt.
“What’s the matter, First Lady? Didn’t like getting signed up for an arranged marriage?”
You whirl on him, practically shoving a finger in his face. “Do not call me that. I am not some prized pig they can sell at the fair.”
“Technically, I think the pigs are judged at the fair, not sold.”
Groaning, you rub your hands down your face.
“I’m running away,” you say, throwing your hands in the air. “I’m joining the circus. Or a motorcycle gang. Anything! As long as it’s not here.”
“Oh, relax,” Steve says. “When you go off to college you can date whoever you want. They’ll never know.”
“Why do I have to wait until I go off to college?” you demand. “Why can’t I date whoever I want right now?”
“Do you want to date someone right now?” Steve asks, furrowing his brows.
“That’s not the point,” you say, but you feel the heat rising to your cheeks.
“Holy shit, you do,” Steve says with a huff of laughter. He pushes himself off the doorframe. “Who is it?”
“Goodnight, Steve.” You shove him out of your doorway before slamming and locking your bedroom door.

“The fuck did you say, Freak?”
Jason Carver’s voice grates on your nerves as you make your way down the hall. Unfortunately, there’s only one person the jock douche would be calling that name and it has you seeing red. You were still steamed from your parents’ comments last night, and this is just going to push you over the top.
“Who, me?”
You walk into the cafeteria to see Eddie grinning at the basketball playing asshole.
“You’re the only freak here,” Jason says.
Your white cheer sneakers squeak to a stop on the linoleum floor, and you drop your bag down by your feet. The clatter has Jason’s gaze shifting to you. Most of the cafeteria’s attention shifts to you, actually. But you don’t notice as you stalk up to the bully. Normally, you might say something snarky to him, but you’re done with words. All your pent up frustration is taken out on Jason’s chin as you serve him a right hook. He stumbles back a few steps and there are gasps around the cafeteria. Your hand is throbbing, but the pain is nothing compared to the satisfaction you feel at shutting that jerk up. The small smear of blood above his upper lip has you smirking.
“Miss Harrington!”
With a groan, your satisfaction wanes when you see Principal Higgins glaring at you. His glasses are perched low on his nose and his hands are high on his hips.
“My office. Now.”
Thankfully, Principal Higgins’s secretary is kind enough to give you some ice to put on your knuckles. Some staffing emergency took precedence, so you’re stuck sitting on a bench outside his office while he deals.
“You’ve got some arm.”
The voice that you’d know anywhere sounds from above you and your neck cracks from how quickly you look up. Eddie stands there with his hands in his pockets, a sheepish smile on his lips.
“Oh. T-Thanks,” you say.
Eddie takes a seat next to you on the bench. He yanks a black bandana out of his back pocket and smooths it out across his lap before folding it lengthwise.
“May I?” he asks, gesturing to the ice you’re holding against your hand.
“Sure.” You extend your injured hand out, and Eddie secures the ice against your knuckles with the bandana, then ties it tight enough to keep everything in place.
“How’s that?” he asks.
“Better. Thank you.” You find it hard to meet his eyes, so you keep your focus on your hand as you bring it back into your lap.
“So,” Eddie says, turning himself sideways on the bench and making himself comfortable. “What made you punch ol’ Carver? I mean, I know we all want to do it, but no one’s been quite so brave. Not until you, that is. And from a cheerleader? One of his own?”
“I’m not one of his own,” you say, looking up at him. But Eddie has a playful smirk on his lips.
“Nah, I know you’re not. I’m just teasing you. But what did want to make you do that? Couldn’t have been all on my account.”
“Why not?” you ask with a frown.
Eddie lets out a chuckle and shakes his head. “Listen, Harrington. I don’t see you as someone who goes around punching people for the hell of it. You’re one of the nicest people in this hell hole of a town. The jackass must’ve done something to deserve it.”
“He did,” you say. “He called you a freak.”
“I don’t know if you’ve noticed,” he says, leaning in towards you with a conspiratorial whisper. “But most people do.”
“Well, they shouldn’t,” you say with a frown. “You’re not. And I hate how Jason always does it in front of a crowd. It’s like he needs to put you down in front of others to prove he’s this king or whatever. So, someone needed to knock him off his throne in front of people, too.”
“My knight in shining cheer skirt,” Eddie teases with a wink. He’s shocked when your face goes red and you’re unable to look him in the eye. “You okay?”
“Y-Yeah,” you say, forcing yourself to meet his gaze. The heat in your face is getting worse by the second and you feel it’s only a matter of time before you crack.
“You sure? I didn’t make you uncomfortable?”
God, that’s the last thing Eddie could ever make you feel. You immediately shake your head, refusing to let him think those thoughts even for a moment.
“No, no, not at all. I’m sorry, I guess I’m just an…awkward person,” you say with a wince.
“Maybe I like awkward,” Eddie says, gently kicking his black boot against your white sneaker. Butterflies erupt in your stomach, and they have plenty of room to buzz about, seeing as you hadn’t gotten to eat your lunch.
“Maybe I like awkward, too,” you say softly.
Eddie smirks. “Oh, then you must adore me, Harrington.”
“Maybe I do,” you say with a shrug, forcing yourself to maintain eye contact with him.
“Well, maybe I like sweet, pretty cheerleaders who can sucker punch like Bruce Lee and talk to me about horror movies.”
Your mind stopped listening after Eddie called you “pretty” though. Did he really think that? Or was he just saying it to be nice?
“Hmm,” you muse. “Guess I should send Hailey Hudson from the team your way to talk about Halloween then, huh?”
Eddie chuckles and the same sensation as when you made him laugh before fills your body.
“Nightmare on Elm Street is more my cup of tea,” Eddie says. “Plus, talking to any other cheerleader bedsides you doesn’t seem very appealing to me.”
“Miss Harrington,” Principal Higgins says, sticking his head out of his office. “You can come in now.” He steps back inside, and you release a sigh. Of course talking to Eddie would have to come to an end eventually, but why now?
“Well,” you say, standing up from the bench. “Guess it’s time to hear my sentence.”
“Maybe if you get released early for good behavior, we could grab pizza sometime?” Eddie looks nervous, and that alone makes you want to laugh. Why on earth would he be nervous asking if you wanted to hang out?
“That sounds great,” you say, the euphoric smile unable to stay off your face no matter how hard you try.
“Yeah?” Eddie asks, seeming shocked.
“Why do you sound surprised?” you ask with a giggle. Taking courage from the fact that he seems to be getting nervous around you as well, you decide to be a little bolder. “I don’t just throw punches for anyone, you know.”
The most endearing smile grows on Eddie’s face, and he places one of his ring-clad hands over his heart.
“I am very honored to have the most beautiful girl in school defending my honor.” He outstretches his hand out to you as you begin to walk backwards towards the principal’s office. “I’ll wait for you.”
You can’t help but giggle. “I’ll have my parole officer contact you.”
“Should be easy since I’m in the phone book.”
“I’ll make sure to let her know. Bye, Munson.”
“See you later, Harrington.” He gives you one last smile before you step into the office.
The worst part isn’t the detention you were given or that you have to apologize to Carver. It’s that you’re told to call your parents to come and get you. Apparently, the school nurse is out for the day, and they can’t have you staying in school with a potentially injured hand. It hardly even hurts anymore, but you’re not going to let them know that. Let them think that you’ll be headed to the hospital for all you care.
When you pick up the phone from the desk, your finger hovers over the numbers. Principal Higgins is sitting right there, making sure you’re going to tell your parents exactly why you need to be picked up. At the last second though, you dial a different number.
“Thank you for calling Family Video, this is Steve. How can I help you?”
“Uh, hi, Dad,” you say, gripping at the receiver pressed against your ear.
“Dad?” you hear Steve ask in confusion. “This is—”
“I-I know,” you say. “I’m just calling, Dad, because I need you to pick me up from school. I’m in Principal Higgins’ office.
You can tell Steve understands now by the sigh that comes across the line. “What did you do?”
“Well, my hand is injured, and the nurse isn’t on duty today, so they don’t want me staying at school while I’m hurt and no one can check it out.”
“Tell him why it’s injured,” Principal Higgins says.
“Yes, tell me,” Steve echoes, obviously being able to hear his former principal’s words.
“I, um, I punched Jason Carver,” you say.
“You did what?!” Steve all but screams.
“He called Eddie Munson a freak in front of the whole cafeteria.” You say this piece looking Higgins dead in the eye. Are you going to do anything about that? you want to ask. “So, I punched Carver to shut him up.”
“Honestly, I’m impressed,” Steve says.
“Thanks. So, uh, can you come get me?”
“My shift is over in ten minutes,” Steve says. “I’ll head there as soon as I get out of here.”
“Thanks, St—uh, Dad. I’ll see you soon.” You hang up the phone and Principal Higgins stares at you over the rims of his glasses.
“He on his way?” he asks.
“He’ll be here soon.”
Tumblr media
“I can’t believe you punched Jason Carver,” Steve says, shaking his head in amusement as he drives you home.
“He’s an asshole,” you defend with a shrug.
“Over Munson, though?” Steve asks incredulously. “Seriously? Couldn’t have picked another hill to die on?”
“Nope,” you say through gritted teeth. Crossing your arms over your chest, you stare out the passenger window.
“Why Munson, though, I—” Steve cuts himself off with a groan and shakes his head. “Oh, no. Please tell me I’m wrong.”
“I’d love to,” you reply. “But I need to know what you’re wrong about first.”
“Munson isn’t the guy you want to date, is he?” Steve asks nervously.
Your face gets hot for what feels like the millionth time in the past few days. But that’s all the confirmation your brother needs, because he’s letting out a groan that makes it sound like he’s in agony.
“You really have a thing for the Freak?”
“I have one good fist left,” you say. “Want me to use it on you?”
“I’ll tell Mom and Dad about your detention then,” Steve says with a shrug.
“Then I’d tell them about you moving the dirty magazines from beneath your bed into the air vent,” you counter.
“How do you even know about that?” Steve asks, shooting you a glare before looking back at the road.
“Your room and mine share the same vent and I can hear the pages rustling when the air is on.”
“You’re the worst,” Steve grumbles.
“You also have no room to complain with some of the trash you’ve dated,” you point out.
“Are you and Munson…a thing?” Steve asks, sounding like he hates every syllable of the question.
“No,” you tell him. “But he asked me to go get pizza with him. So, maybe soon.”
“And that will make you happy?” your brother asks.
A smile comes to your face just thinking about it. “It would.”
Steve nods his head and lets out a deep breath as if he’s resigning himself to the fact that you have feelings for Eddie.
“Okay, but you’re telling Mom and Dad.”

Brand New Baby Girl
Eddie Munson x pregnant!fem!Harrington!Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: you’re having your baby girl and her father is nowhere to be found, thankfully, your brother Steve, and Eddie step in, promising to be there for you and your girl.
wordcount: 2.1k
Warnings: Tommy being a deadbeat loser, swearing, pregnancy and childbirth, Steve being a protective big brother/uncle, Dustin’s super cute, Eddie steps up!!
this was requested by @tracymbcm, unfortunately a bunch of my asks got eaten, yet I persevered! Thank you so much for requesting this, I loved writing it!
Tumblr media
Steve's hand is warm and shaking slightly as he holds your face, damp from tears. You just pushed through another contraction, they were getting closer together, your baby was almost ready to be here and still your boyfriend, Tommy, was nowhere to be found. He hadn't answered the phone any time you, Steve or even Eddie called him.
Steve sighed pressing his lips to your forehead as you cried, Eddie dabbed away your tears, holding your hands with his free one as Steve's held your heavy head. "Tommy needs- needs to get here. 'm having his baby." You cried out, head falling back against your pillow.
"I'll go call him again, s'gonna be okay." Steve pressed another kiss against your forehead before he stood straight to head out to the hallway, his hands shook as he called Tommy's number for what felt like the thousandth time, getting sent to the answering machine again.
"Tommy you fucking bitch, your daughter is being born right now. You'll be lucky if you're even physically capable of seeing her after I'm done with you. Asshole."
You gazed up at Eddie with sad eyes and he frowned down at you, calloused thumb dragging over your knuckles. "You're doing so good man. Such a good mom already. Everything's gonna be alright, y'know?" Eddie chewed on his lip nervously and a smile broke onto your flushed face.
He had no idea what he was doing or saying. Neither did you. He was just so sweet, holding your hand and encouraging you. You'd known Eddie for a long time, but you'd never been close. Not until you started staying with him and Steve during the last few months of your pregnancy when it was getting hard to take care of yourself and Tommy was busy 'working'.
You knew he wasn't working, Eddie guessed he wasn't, and Steve was seeming to just be figuring it out. You weren't entirely sure why you were still with him. You did love him, and you'd both been so happy and in love earlier in your relationship. You were just desperate to find a way to fix your relationship, love each other again for your daughter's sake. You remembered what it was like to have parents who didn't love each other, who hardly loved you and Steve. You didn't want that for your baby, she didn't have a big brother that would make up for everything else like you did.
Steve walked back into the room, jaw tight and you didn't need to ask to know the outcome. You threw your head back in disappointment, sweaty forehead resting against Eddie's arm. He didn't mind at all, just leaning down to press a kiss to your hairline.
You groaned quietly when the doctor entered the room. He didn't spend long checking you out before he clapped his hands and smiled at you. "Ready mom? It's time to start pushing!" His voice was happy and calm but it did nothing to quell your anxiety.
  "I can't, I can't-"
"You can babe, I know you can." Eddie squeezed your right hand tighter while Steve grabbed your left. "You are the strongest person I've ever met, you can do this, for her. And y'know she doesn't seem to be willing to wait 'cause she's on her way, like, now. You are going to rock this." Eddie gripped your face, waiting until you nodded before he nodded at Steve who nodded at the doctor.
The birth went smoother than any of you thought it would. It went smoother than it probably would have with Tommy there instead of Steve and Eddie.
Steve was as encouraging as ever, hyping you up, helping you regulate your breathing. It was crazy how he went from kissing your scraped knees when you were kids to kissing your teary face as you had your first baby. His hands stroking your arm and hand constantly, carful not to irritate your IV.
Eddie had to take his rings off, he wouldn't complain about the pain in front of you, but he wouldn't be surprised if his knuckles were broken from how hard you squeezed his hand, the prints from the chunky silver he wore still red on his fingers.
You learned there's no such thing as being prepared for childbirth. It's the scariest, most painful thing you've endured.
But it's also the most rewarding. All of the pain and fear was beyond worth it when you got to hold your baby girl against your chest. You were crying. Steve was crying, Eddie too. The baby only cried when she first came out, but now she was quiet, chubby cheek smooshed against your chest.
The first while after you had her was hectic, doctors checking on you and her, asking you, Steve and even Eddie millions of questions. But finally, it was just you, Steve, Eddie and your doctor in the room again, it was quiet as Eddie put your hair into ponytail for you so it wasn't as warm on your neck. You cried happily and watched Steve hold his niece for the first time, his golden brown eyes glossy with tears.  "It's so nice to finally meet you." His voice was soft and it shook, dripping with love, for you and the baby.
"I think you guys should be good for visitors now." Your doctor smiled at you all and Eddie nodded, standing up straight.
"I'll go get the kids." With that he kissed your head for the millionth time and left the room. He took a minute in the hallway, leaning against the wall. The day was overwhelming, filled with so much pride to have been there for that, for you, and so much anger toward Tommy.
The door closing again startled him. "You did great in there, dad." The doctor grinned at Eddie and his heart pounded in his chest. He chose not to correct him before he started his descent down the hallway.
"She's here." Eddie told the group of people in the waiting room. The kids bounded down the hallway, tripping over their own feet with Dustin in the lead.
Robin bumped Eddie's shoulder with her own as they followed the kids. "Tommy show up?" She asked and Eddie shook his head, hands clenching at his side.
"It's his loss." He sighed. "Prettiest fuckin' kid ever born and he's not here to see her." Eddie scoffed.
You cried more hearing everyone gasp in awe at your daughters presence. "Wash your hands! Nobody touches the baby till your hands are washed, thoroughly." Steve demanded, swaying softly with your baby.
You weren't sure when the waterworks would stop. Robin crying with your baby in her arms made you cry more. Lucas was nervous about holding her, so he didn't, but the way he looked at her in Max's arms brought even more tears to the surface.
"We are going to be best friends. It's okay, if you like your mom or uncle Steve a little bit more than me, but uncle Dustin's gotta be at least top three, got it?" Dustin explained to your daughter too little to even be able to see him properly and you cried more.
It was Tommy's own fault he was missing out on this, you knew, but still you wished he was here, for you, for his daughter. "Steve?" You got your brother's attention. "Did he try and call back at all?" You asked, hope draining with each second, and depleting entirely when Steve shook his head.
He grabbed his coat. "I'll go get him." Steve's voice was monotone, arms stiff when he left.
"Alright everyone, 10 more minutes of babylove and then you're getting kicked out!"
-
"Tommy's not coming." You guessed as you leaned against Eddie who lay next to you in the hospital bed which was definitely not made for two people. You'd just fed your daughter for the first time. Giggling at how Eddie's face was beet red as he looked anywhere but at you during the entire latching process.
"Fuck Tommy." He shrugged, hand resting on your elbow as you held your beautiful baby girl, cooing softly.
"Already did, unfortunately." You laugh softly.
"Yeah." He drags it out in a sigh. "Sucks to suck I guess. But hey, you got a pretty sweet consolation prize over here." He brushed his thumb over her cheek and you realized it's the first time he's touched her since she was born.
You shift your weight to offer her to him and his eyes widen. "You haven't held her yet." You hum and he takes a deep inhale, taking her from your arms.
"What the fuck..." his voice shakes as he looks down at her, deep brown eyes brimming with tears. "She's like, ethereal. She's perfect." His voice broke and you sniffled, pressing your face into his shoulder.
When Steve came back you pretended not to notice his bruised and skinned knuckles, pretended not to notice his swollen lip or the welt forming behind his eye. You assumed Tommy was worse off.
He came over to the other side of you, leaning over and kissing your cheek, then leaning further to kiss the pink blanket over your daughters stomach. "I'm sorry." He whispered and you shook your head.
"I'd rather you and Eddie here anyway for me." You hummed and he smiled, big hand resting on his niece's stomach, sleeping quietly in Eddie's arms.
"We'll we're not going anywhere." Steve started, "we're here for you, and for Baby Harrington."
  "Stevie."
"What's up?" He looked up at Eddie, tongue wetting his bottom lip at the sound of his voice.
"That's her name. Stevie." You spoke quietly, tilting your head toward your baby.
"What?" Steve's eyes glazed over and his mouth dropped open. "For real?" He looked from you to the baby and started to choke up.
"There's nobody in my life more important to me than you, Steve." You smiled. "Well, except for her" you giggled.
"Not her fault she's so much cooler than everyone else." Eddie baby talked at her, making you giggle.
-
Later on, Steve left to go update your parents who were not invited to the hospital, Stevie was off getting checked out by some nurses, you slept, and Eddie watched you, a protective hand laying on your stomach.
The door opening stole his attention from you and he stood up with a big smile on his face as your baby was brought back in the room, making soft noises from where she lay in a nurses arms.
"Looks like mommy's tuckered out! Uncle Steve's out too, looks like it's time for some daddy-daughter time." She smiles sweetly as she hands the baby over to Eddie. "I'll be back in a couple hours to check on Stevie and mom. She's so peaceful, enjoy it while it lasts." She laughs softly and leaves.
Eddie rocks her gently in his arms as he sits down with her. "I'm not your dad, just so you know. You kinda got screwed in the dad department. But so did I and I'm super cool." He smiles down at her as she stares up at him. "Besides, you got lucky with the coolest mom possible. She's incredible." He smiles up at your sleeping form.
"And just for the record, I would be so honoured to be your dad."
-
About 10 months later, you sit on the floor of your new apartment with Stevie. Soft brown locks and big brown eyes, there wasn't anyone she looked like aside from your big brother. The only thing she inherited from Tommy was his freckles, which you were fine with because they were so cute.
She grabs onto your hand, using it as leverage to pull herself up, which she'd been doing a great job at for the last week. You cheered her on as you both waited.
"Da! Dada!" She yelled the only word she used regularly as she heard the door open and close. Neither of you had to look to know that it was Eddie.
"My girls!" He shouted with a smile like he did every time he came home from anywhere. He picked her up and held her on his hip, giving her a big wet kiss on her cheek before he leaned down, flipping her so she was almost upside down, giggling loudly as she watched you and Eddie kiss. "Missed you so bad, take this" he shifted and you smiled, pulling Stevie from his arm as he presented a small gift bag to you.
"I know her birthday's a couple months away, but, I got her something. And I need to show you now because it's so cute and I might explode if I have to wait." He rushed out and you laughed at him.
"Go ahead dear." You smiled as you sat Stevie in your lap.
He destroys the bag in his pursuit, grinning wide. "Dustin's totally gonna flip." He mumbles before finally, he pulls out the gift.
A little hellfire onesie for his little girl.

V.
You and Eddie stumbled into his room, where he pushed you backwards onto his messy bed where you’d both slept the night before. He crawled over you, looking down at you with the same hungry eyes he had last night at the bar- the look sent your stomach into a fit of butterflies.
“I can’t believe I let last night happen.” You groaned as Eddie placed rough kisses on your neck, his scruff that showed up overnight was tickling you.
“What, do you regret it already?” He went from hungry for you to panicked- quick.
“No, no. I don’t mean that. I can’t believe our first time together was in the bathroom of a bar.”
“I just couldn’t wait to get you home.” He resumed the attack on your neck and you tugged at his sides as he left marks on top of the ones from last night. “Knew you’d be a good girl for me.” A gasp escaped your lips, and he swallowed it with a kiss. “You like that, yeah? Being called a good girl?”
You nodded, embarrassed, “Never been called that before.”
“But you like it?” His fingers had found their way below his boxers you'd slept in last night to find your already wet cunt dripping. “That’s my good girl.” You moaned as he lazily rubbed circles into your clit, your hips moving around looking for more traction.
“Fuck, your fingers are so good.” You said with your eyes squeezed tight, and Eddie slipped two inside of you, pumping in and out at a slow and steady pace. “Faster!” A whimper evaded your lips as he kept the slow pace.
“Nu-uh, I’m taking my time with you this morning, sweetheart.” You lifted your hips up and pushed the fabric down your legs as he continued to please you and spread your legs out so he could be in a better position. “Oh, fuck.” Eddie said as he looked down, “You’re uh, you’re bleeding.” He pulled his fingers out of you to reveal red stained fingers and your face immediately flushed a matching shade of red.
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry.” You carefully pushed up and were quickly pushed back down to the pillows.
“I started something, I’m gonna finish. I’m not afraid of a little blood.” He was then hovering over you, “is that alright?”
You nodded, because honestly everything felt better when you were on your period. You’d never had sex with Charlie on it, but you’d masterbated by yourself in the shower and everything was way more sensitive.
“I-If you don’t mind, but if you-”
“I got you halfway there, I can’t leave you high and dry now, can I, baby?” He thrusted his fingers in and out of you a little quicker, earning moans from you. Your hands made their way to your chest, clutching at your sensitive breasts. “Yeah, keep doing that. God, you look so pretty like this. Pull on your nipples for me.” He was biting at your earlobe next, and you were writhing underneath him at the sensations going through your body right now.
“Fuck, I’m so close, Eddie!” You squeezed and pinched at your tits, they were so sensitive and hard underneath your shirt.
“Be a good girl for me and cum, make more of a mess on my hand.” You felt your climax hit you as your hips stuttered against Eddie’s hand and he let you ride out your high, then you collapsed back onto his bed.
“I don’t even want to look. I’m so embarrassed.” You flung your arm over your eyes as your panting turned into normal breaths, and Eddie quickly left and returned back to you with clean hands.
“Nothing to be embarrassed about, sweets.” He plopped on the bed beside you and placed his hand on your soft tummy and kissed you on the head, “didn’t even get it on my sheets either.”
“Must’ve just started.” You mumbled as you sat up and spotted your purse where you kept extra feminine products just in case, and you cleaned yourself up in the bathroom and returned back to the bed where Eddie was lounging.
“Sorry, we can, uh, do something later for you-”
“I’m fine, I promise. I still have some free time before going into work today if you want to just hang out here.”
Eddie’s nightmare had woken you both up pretty early, and you didn’t feel your best from your night of drinking, so a slow morning sounded great.
“Wanna talk about the nightmare you had now that you’re calmed down?” You daringly asked, looking over at him as he shut his eyes tight.
Eddie sighed and pinched his nose, “Not really, no. But I guess I should catch you up a little better than your brother and I probably have, you deserve to know everything.”
You turned on your side and grabbed his hand and held it in yours, bringing his knuckles to your lips where you placed a gentle kiss. “You don’t have to, but I’m here to listen.”
“I don’t- I don’t really talk about it much with anyone except your brother anymore. Or Dustin sometimes if something comes up.” He sighed and opened his eyes, staring up at the ceiling. “So I’ll just start back at the beginning, you probably know most of this. After a Hellfire meeting and a basketball game one night, I had Chrissy Cunningham come over to the trailer because she said she wanted some drugs and I didn’t carry anything more than weed on me. I went into my room, came out and saw Chrissy… levitating in my living room, and watched as her bones cracked and her eyes bled out from her eye sockets. She died right in front of me. I still see it all of the time. In my dreams, a-and sometimes even just if I close my eyes for too long I get flashbacks of it. Then I just fucking ran. Your brother and everyone else found me, and I hid for a while from the town because they thought it was me. Steve and everyone caught me up on the whole Upside Down, Dungeons & Dragons creatures thing but worse because it was real bullshit that’s been happening in Hawkins so I knew I wasn’t crazy for seeing what I saw. But your brother-” Eddie let out a half laugh and a sigh, “he immediately believed me, and so did all of the kids. I couldn’t believe Steve Harrington, Mr. Cool, was involved in this shit. I followed him around and helped him fight in the Upside Down to save the town that fucking hated me. That night that Max lured Vecna in the attic was worse than I told you.” His voice got quieter, and deeper, “I died that night down there. I know I did. I saw fucking- I can’t even say what I saw down there because I don’t know wasn’t to say it out loud. I was so close to coming back up to Hawkins but at the last second I decided I had to help your brother and everyone else out- because let’s face it, if I died, who the fuck cared? I mean, Wayne would have, but think about if Steve would’ve died- you would’ve been without a brother, Dustin would’ve been crushed. He worships your brother. If anyone else would’ve died, so many people would’ve cared, you know? And I’m just Eddie, the town freak, who murdered some jocks with my devil worshiping game.”
You felt the warm tears flowing down your cheeks as Eddie spoke with brutal, heartbreaking honesty- it hurt your heart that this was how he felt about himself.
“The demobats flew after and attacked me and I knew I was sacrificing myself. Myself, Eddie “the banished”, for this whole stupid fucking town of Hawkins, where everyone hated me, and they thought I was murdering some high school kids.”
You sniffled through your tears as he continued talking.
“They tore me up. They bit me, their tails were sharp as spears, and the screeching. Fuck, I can still hear their high pitched screeches and it’s terrifying. I remember that Dustin came back for me, and then your brother must have shown up to help carry me back through the gate. I was so bloodied up and hurt they said I passed out. But I know I died. I saw these visions of my entire life- bad and good. I saw my mom, the short time she was here, and I saw my dad. I-I saw my fucking father and how he used to yell at me and hit me for all the dumb shit I did. And then I saw Wayne, who was crying by himself. A-and I saw you.” He wiped his eyes before any tears could fall and he choked out a smile, “I saw you. We were laughing in your basement, and that last summer where we actually hung out before you got too cool for me. All the time we spent at your house, in the pool, and then I saw you- I saw you all wrangled up by Vecna. He had you all… trapped, and you were screaming for help too, and I couldn’t help you because I was dead. He looked at me as he-” he took a shaky exhale, “he snapped your body into a mangled mess too, and then I regained consciousness and I was at Hopper’s cabin. I’d been out cold for days, reliving the same fucking dream over and over and over. And I still have it. And these scars hurt every time I have that dream. I wake up having a panic attack, and call Steve to talk me down.”
You were speechless as you clutched his hand tightly, a few tears escaped Eddie’s eyes as he refused to look at you. “But I haven’t told anyone that- that they still hurt sometimes. J-just you.”
“Eddie, what if it means something?”
“I don’t want it to mean something.” He spoke through gritted teeth and ripped his hand away from you, “it can’t. It’s all over now. Vecna’s gone, and he can’t hurt any of us again. El killed him, and everything is over.” He sighed and got up from the bed. You reached out and caught his hand, pulling him back to you. He didn’t fight it as his limp body collapsed into yours, and you held him as sobs wracked his whole body.
“I’m so sorry Eddie. You didn’t deserve any of that.” You couldn’t stop thinking about what he said about himself, how no one would’ve cared if he were gone. “I wish I could’ve been here for you. So you would have known that you mattered. You matter to so many people, Eddie.” You rubbed his back, soothing his cries. “Thank you.”
“For what?” He spoke into your neck.
“For sacrificing yourself for Steve, for your friends, for everyone. I’m glad you’re still here.” You pulled him from hiding into your neck, and wiped his tears.
“Yeah?”
“You’re the kindest, least scary metal head-nerd I’ve ever known.” You placed a soft kiss to his lips. You stared into his red rimmed, dark brown eyes that were wet with salty tears, “and thank you for telling me all of that. I know that was really hard.”
He just nodded and kissed you back, and stood up from the bed, grabbing his cigarettes from his bedside table. “I’ll be outside for a minute. Just-”
“I get it. It’s okay.” He waved a small wave as he made his way to his back porch to smoke, leaving you to lay back down in his bed.
Your head was spinning. Eddie was carrying the weight of all of this around daily, constantly. It hasn’t even been but maybe six months since his entire world had been flipped upside down, and he barely had time to process it all.
You knew he needed to talk to someone, a professional, but you didn’t know if anyone was allowed to know about him and everything he’d been through. Steve could be helpful, but again, you worried it might be out of pocket for you to talk to him. You got up and went back to the bathroom to splash some cool water on your face, then wandered out to the kitchen to gaze at Eddie on the back porch smoking. You could tell he was deep in thought, but he must have sensed you staring because he quickly put out his cigarette, and found you in the kitchen.
“Your parents are not too happy with you, you should probably know that.” He looked up at you through his mangled hair. “Steve gently suggested I should get you home earlier.”
“What else were you two talking about?” You asked, hoping he’d reveal something to you.
“Just needed his help calming down. He used to have nightmares too, but he seemed to have stopped having them.”
You were shocked at this, you didn’t know your brother had had the nightmares. But by how horrible Eddie described everything, you wouldn’t be shocked if everyone involved had them too.
“Have you tried anything- like, talking to anyone about it?”
He shook his head with an exhale and a quick change in his voice, “no, and it’s not something I’m up for talking about right now, okay? Let’s get you home.” He gently put his hand on your shoulder and guided you to his room. You found a pair of his sweatpants that were neatly folded in a drawer and grabbed the rest of your belongings. So much for a slow morning.
“You embarrassed us. Both of you.” You and Steve were standing shoulder to shoulder in your parents kitchen, and you felt like it was a flashback to being kids again.
“Sorry.” You reluctantly muttered out.
“I can't really punish either of you since you’re adults, but just know we’re both extremely disappointed in your behaviors and disappearing last night- it’s only been a few months since, since everything and we were supposed to be redeeming ourselves last night, and you both screwed that up for us.”
“We never stay long, mom.” Steve rolled his eyes and crossed his feet at his ankles as he leaned back against the kitchen counter. Eddie had stayed, but he was seated at the breakfast table in the kitchen, where he was sitting surprisingly quiet.
“No, but you didn’t have to act like children on stage and then sneak off to god knows where. You both reek of alcohol and bar.” Your mother flew her hands around in the air, “and where were either of you last night anyway? We waited up for a long time.”
“Robin’s.”
“Eddie’s.” You both answered at the same time.
“You start work on Monday, with me, if you want to continue living here. And Steve, you better clean your act up.” Your father spoke to both of you and you could tell it was a line he’d rehearsed with your mother beforehand. “And Eddie, we’d like to have you over for dinner.”
“I’d love nothing more.” He crossed his hands in his lap and shot your parents a huge grin- he had no idea what he was agreeing to.
“Tonight?” Your mother asked, her eyebrows raised.
“Can’t, he’s got a show.” You answered for him, trying to put it off as long as possible.
“We’re not on till 9. We’ll be here.”
“I can’t believe they’re still treating us like we’re teenagers. I mean, come on. I have to go work with dad.” You sighed as Steve was pacing in your room. “You got ants in your pants or something?”
He spoke after a few moments of silence, “I need to tell you something, but you can’t say anything to anyone. Not even Eddie, okay?” You nodded as you watched your brother run a hand through his messy hair again, and placed his other hand on his hip. “I’m worried about Eddie. Like, really worried.”
You played dumb, guessing what he was going to hopefully bring up. “why?”
“He called me this morning and he was so… he was not okay. You know, we saw some fucked up stuff just a few months ago, and we’ve all gotten some help whether it’s medication, or counseling, or something. But Eddie, he had it the worst and hasn’t tried anything to help him for more than a few days or weeks, if that, he just keeps it all together and hidden. Says he doesn’t need it, then he calls me crying in the morning because he says he sees-“ Steve stopped. “Has these horrible nightmares that feel like he’s back there again. There’s only certain people we’re allowed to talk to about this stuff, and you know him- he trusts no one. He’s afraid they’re gonna lock him up or something.”
“He told me his scars hurt him sometimes after.” You spoke before thinking.
“W-what?”
“Shit, Steve, that wasn’t my business to tell. Please don’t say anything to him.” Shit, shit, shit.
“Fuck- I, I- they told us…” Steve was pacing more, then he stopped, “Like I said, there’s a specific group of people we can go to about this, and these people aren’t the kindest. He probably just thinks it’s normal but someone needs to know- El, Dustin, Will. One of them has to know-”
“What did they tell you, Steve?”
He sighed again, “If any of us experienced any physical feelings of pain from these nightmares we needed to let them know as soon as it started. I bet this has been going on for months and he hasn’t said shit. It’s probably why he’s so angry, he’s holding all of this in- I’ve gotta tell-”
“Steve, you can’t! He’s never told anyone and he’ll get mad at me if he knows I told you.” You started panicking- you were having the same feelings about fearing Eddie’s anger as you were your ex-boyfriends.
Steve gently took you by the shoulders, “Listen, this is not something to play a waiting game with. You haven’t been around for all of this, and he was just thrown into it so I don’t think he realizes the severity of this possibly meaning something. It could be nothing, but it could be something.”
“I vote for telling Dustin.”
“Me too, and I think he can talk to El to get an idea of what this might mean. And hey, if he gets mad, you’re just trying to help him.” You’d never seen your brother this serious, so you had no other choice but to trust and take his word for it.
-
“So, Eddie, what are your plans?” Your mother asked as she flashed a fake smile at your boyfriend.
“Well, I’m running the music store in town and teaching lessons- I stay pretty booked out with those. But long term, hopefully our band will get noticed and we’ll get out of here.” Eddie chewed his dinner beside you while you picked at the food on your plate with your fork. His knee nudged you and you glanced at him with a quick smile.
“No backup plan?” She asked, setting her fork down.
“Don’t need one. If the band doesn’t get picked up, I own the record store and it’s doing great. I could expand, hire more people for more classes, and make more than enough to support myself and my family.” He confidently spoke without skipping a beat. Both you and Steve were eyeing each other across the table. Steve had told Dustin, and he was apparently trying to figure something out ASAP, but as far as you knew, Eddie had no idea.
“Own it? I didn’t know you owned it.” You were surprised this detail was left out- it was pretty major. Thoughts of how quickly things were moving between you two swelled in your mind along with everything else, but Eddie kept on talking.
“We got a pretty big uh, settlement for losing our house, and the record store was not going to be able to reopen with all the repairs needed. Hawkins doesn’t have much in that department, so I knew I had to keep it open for the sake of music in this town.”
“Well, that’s shocking. I didn’t know you owned a business.” Your dad spoke before washing down his bite of dinner with his rum and coke. “You really have made an effort in the last year, haven’t you?”
You could feel the glare your mother was giving your father at the positivity he was hinting about in the question.
“Yes, sir. Get called a devil worshipper, satanist, murderer… but gotta just push through. Wayne helped me a lot with getting everything fixed up.”
“So, you two are just, what? Best friends again, or-?” Your mom rudely interjected her question.
“It’s pretty obvious what’s going on between the two of them, mom.” Steve laughed at the comment.
“Boyfriend and girlfriend.” Eddie spoke casually as he sipped a beer through his proud smirk at your mom.
“Ah, well.” She pushed the food around on her plate, at a loss for words. “We’ll see where this goes, I guess.”
“Mom, can you try not being a bitch for once?” Every male at the table was shocked, and tried not to spit out their drink or food at your sudden outburst. “It’s not like Eddie wasn’t my best friend for over half of my life, or that I didn’t have a major crush on him the entire time, or-”
“What?” Eddie looked at you, his cheeks burning red.
“Not important right now.” You put your hand on top of his to stabilize yourself. “We already had this talk mom, I was who you wanted me to be in high school. Carry on the Harrington name, be the captain, miss popular, miss get engaged first, etc. and look at where that got me. I’m doing what I want to do now that I’m an adult and if being Eddie Munson’s girlfriend is that, then that’s what I’m going to choose to be.”
“I just don’t want you making a mistake, dear.” She pursed her lips at you, and you groaned as you stood up from the table.
“The only mistake I’ve made was thinking that you were going to maybe change.” You threw your dinner plate into the sink loudly and leaned against the counter, burying your face in your hands. You heard feet slowly walking into the kitchen, “Eddie, please just, I don’t want you in here right now.”
“It’s just me.” Steve spoke quietly. “He’s outside, said he’d wait for you so you can get to the show. And uh, he knows. Dustin already called him an hour before he got here because he said he had an idea.”
“Go tell him I’m staying here, or going to Robin’s, or fuck, anywhere else. I’m not riding with him.” You wrapped your arms tightly around yourself. “How mad is he?”
“Not at all.” Steve shrugged as he shoved his hands into his pockets.
“Bullshit. Steve, he’s going to get me in that van and he’s-”
“Hey, he’s Eddie. Not Charlie.” His hand on your shoulder made you jump as you looked at your brother’s eyes. They showed every bit of fear you felt too, you’d called him sometimes when Charlie had been upset with you so he knew that you weren’t overreacting.
“Can I ride with you?” You asked, hopeful.
“Can’t, I’m not going. I’ll walk out there with you and stand on the porch while you talk to him if that makes you feel better?”
“Yeah. That sounds alright.”
“Yeah? I’ll grab your purse for you and meet you out there.” You nodded at Steve as you walked out of the kitchen back door, wanting to avoid having to pass back through the dining room and seeing your parents.
You approached his rumbling van slowly, the hum was steady in the quiet of the dusky air. There were puffs of smoke coming from the drivers side as you walked up, and you watched the window roll down slowly.
“Hi.” Eddie smiled at you, his smile reaching his eyes.
“You- you’re not mad?”
“Mad? About what? About you telling Steve what I was too pussy to tell anyone about?”
“Yeah…” you heard the front door shut and saw Steve standing there awkwardly, your small purse in his hand and he waved with the other.
“You ready to go to the show?” He put out his cigarette and leaned his chin on the window. “Can’t be late, heard the main act is reaaaaally good. I think the lead singer is like, really hot.”
You were blushing at Eddie when he winked at you, “yeah, let me grab my purse from Steve.”
You retrieved the bag, and made your way back to Eddie’s van. He’d hopped out and had the passenger door open for you to hop in with ease.
“What do you think you’re doing wearing a skirt like that to my show, when you’re on your goddamn period, baby?” His hand rested on your bare thigh and he rubbed it up and down, feeling your smooth skin. “You’re really trying to kill me.”
You did nothing but blush and look out the window, and put your hand on top of his to stop him from inching any higher.
“Thanks for telling Steve. Really.” His voice was deep as he looked at you, at the red light, the glow reflecting on his pale face.
“I thought you were going to get mad like Charlie would have-”
“I told you to stop saying his name. I’m not him, not one bit like him.”
“I just know you can get really angry and-”
“You want to help me. I can’t get mad at you for that, that’s just silly.” A horn honked behind you, and you both jumped. “Alright, alright, I’m going.” Eddie floored it and you let out a little laugh.
You took a deep breath before speaking, “I’m sorry, I’m just not used to… this.”
“Well, get used to it. I’m not an asshole.”
And that was… it? The end of it. Huh.
Corroded Coffin went on at their planned time, and since you were alone tonight you opted for the side stage again, wanting to avoid possibly knowing anyone in the crowd, and you enjoyed the personal little sideshow Eddie gave you every time he walked your way.
“Big fan?” A guy beside you, who you did not recognize spoke up to you out of nowhere.
“Uh, Eddie-” you pointed to him, “he’s my bes- boyfriend. Just like sitting over here instead of standing amongst all of those sweaty people.”
“Oh, you two been together a long time?” Who was this guy, and where the hell did he come from? He was in some Levi’s, boots, and a band tee. It wasn’t worn like Eddie’s, it looked newer than any of his and the guy looked a bit older than both of you. You looked around his shoulder for Tripp, who just shrugged at you. What the actual fuck?
“I mean, we haven’t been a couple a long time, but we were practically best friends for our whole lives until I went to college but now I’m back. Who are you?”
“Tim, from the city. I own a record label and we heard about these guys so I came here to scout them out tonight.” You looked up at him as his gaze was set on the band. “They’re not half bad.”
“Y-yeah, they’re pretty good. Do they know you’re here?”
“Nah, we like to do this and catch them off guard. That way they can’t put on any kind of an extra show or something, but I figured with the way he’s putting on a show anytime he turns this way that you have to be someone special.”
Your heart was swelling at this for Eddie. “Oh, I get that.” You quietly enjoyed the rest of their set, Tim eventually wandered away before the guys had a chance to run off stage.
“Who was that you were talking to?” Eddie was standing between your parted legs, his lips attacking your neck, his fucks for the night were absolutely not there and you felt like he was just showing off his possessive nature.
“Tim.”
“Who the fuck is Tim?” He dipped lower, catching his guitar that was strapped around his shoulder on his back, before it had a chance to accidentally hit you.
“Record label scout.” Eddie paused as he sucked a love bite on your throat.
“What did you say?” He stood up and looked at you with wide eyes.
“Record label… scout? Said he was as sent out here to watch you guys play. He was impressed. Said he was from the city-”
“TRIPP!” Eddie yelled and ran over to the Hideout guy standing in the corner, you watched as he animatedly talked to him, running a hand through his sweaty hair and eventually handing his guitar off to a band mate. They all gathered around and were talking amongst themselves with excitement as you continued to sit on the unused speaker.
“Hey, you drink?” Tim was beside you again, with shots in his hand- multiple, you assumed that he’d grabbed them for everyone. “Bartender said tequila was the safest for everyone involved. I take it they heard I was here?” He nodded at the crowd of excited boys who’d missed his returning presence.
“Sorry, I-”
“I was gonna grab them after the show, don’t worry. C’mon, let’s go talk.” You followed him over to the band, holding your shot glass in your hand as you watched them turn to face the two of you. “Tim, from the city. I’m a label scout, I’ve heard you already know that though. We’re looking for a new band to sign on and we caught wind of Corroded Coffin, so here we are. Well, here I am.”
He passed out the shots, and you all took them in unison. He talked to the guys for a few minutes before Eddie walked over to you.
“Hey, he wants to talk about some stuff in private. I- are you okay to wait? I can tell him I’ve gotta go get you home if you’re not.”
“Nu-uh, you go. I’m fine. You go talk.” He pulled you in for a kiss, pulling your face as close to his as he possibly could, biting your lip before he pulled away.
“Thank you, baby. If any creeps come up, here’s my keys to go sit in the van.” He handed you a keychain full of keys and keychains, his shorter metal chain attached to it tonight.
You wandered over to the bar, and asked for a drink from the bartender who put it on “Eddie’s girls tab”, and you found the least sticky bar stool you could find to observe the bar dying down after the school.
It had been more than 30 minutes, more than two drinks before you realized this was going to take longer than you expected.
“Harrington? To what does Hawkins owe your presence?” You rolled your eyes at the voice, immediately recognizing it as one of Charlie’s friends.
“Fuck off, Caleb.” What was he even doing here? This was not his crowd, at all.
“Feisty. Cute. Guess dating the town freak does that to you.” You clutched your glass tightly, tempted to throw it at him, or break it at the grub you had on it.
“What are you even doing here? You wouldn’t be caught dead here.”
“Yeah well, heard you don’t want Charlie near you so he sent me to keep an eye on you.”
“I don’t need an eye on me here. I don’t need one on me at all.” Of fucking course. You finished your drink and stood up, then felt your arm get grabbed firmly.
“C’mon, lemme get you out of this shit hole.”
“Caleb, let go of me.” You pulled your arm, but his grip was too strong.
“Nah, Charlie’s waiting for you out there. You’re coming with us tonight after that shit you pulled at the benefit yesterday and made it so he couldn’t even go. You don’t really want that freak, do you?”
“Freak is such a childish word, it’s not even an insult. Let go of my fucking arm.”
“No.” He yanked you closer to him, “let’s go.”
“No!” You pulled and tugged, your arm felt like it was burning from his touch and tight grip. “I’m not fucking going anywhere with you!” You yelled, trying to get anyone’s attention. The bartender heard, and hopped over the bar to come rescue you.
“Let go of her, you dipshit, before I have to call the cops on you.”
“Just trying to get her home safely, don’t want her getting hurt by Munson-”
“You’re gonna be the one hurting if you don’t let her go.” The bartender ripped his arm away from yours and threw his arm at him. “Get the fuck outta my bar and don’t ever step your preppy ass back in here, or I will call the cops. No one wants you here.” You watched as Caleb backed away slowly.
“We’ll be watching, always watching.” He winked before he walked out.
You didn’t realize it but your whole body had started trembling, tears were streaming down your to, nausea had come from nowhere, and your ears were starting to ring. A panic attack was setting in and you needed to get out as soon as possible.
“I-I need to get to Eddie.” You held your hurting arm, “can you walk me back there?” He glanced at the bar before gently guiding you through the thinned out crowd. The door to the guys dressing room was shut, so you knocked with your shaky hand. “Eddie?”
“Just a minute, babe. We’re almost done here.” He spoke back through the door. You turned around, and the bartender had gone back to the bar, and Tripp was nowhere to be seen. Suddenly you were awfully fearful of the back door being unprotected.
Fuck it, you thought to yourself and opened the door. “I gave you the keys, what- Oh, fuck, what happened?” You entered the room and Eddie rushed to you immediately as everyone stared at you.
“I don’t wanna talk about it in front of these people, can we please go? I’m scared to go out by myself.”
“Yeah, yeah. Just- ah, fuck.”
“Hey, it’s fine. She’s more important. We got your info, we can call or meet up another time. Not gonna affect anything.” Tim held his hands up at Eddie as he smiled.
“Please.” You begged Eddie, and he nodded at you before kissing you on the forehead. He walked back to the band and said bye to them, thanking Tim and rambling off for a little too long before Tim had to shoo him away back to you.
“Baby, what’s wrong?” Eddie put his arm around you, and you could smell alcohol on him. “C’mon, let’s go home.”
“Eddie, you smell like an entire bottle of liquor, you’re not driving home.”
“And what, you’re perfectly sober?” His attitude came out of nowhere.
“What the fuck? Eddie, I’m having a goddamn panic attack because one of Charlie’s friends has been here all fucking night watching me. He just tried to grab me and take me out of here while you’re back there fucking around and drinking with your friends for close to an hour.”
“What?”
“You heard me! One of Charlie’s creepy friends was here, watching me-”
Eddie pushed past you, and you watched him bust the front door of the Hideout open. “HEY!”
You ran up to the bar and tapped on it to get the bartender’s attention. “Call the cops, get Jim Hopper over here now.” He nodded, and you followed Eddie’s path out the door. He was banging on the window of Charlie’s car.
“Open the fucking window, you coward!” He was yelling through the glass. Charlie and his friends were locked in safe in his car, and they were all mocking Eddie with little devil horns and sticking their tongues out at him. “You leave my girl alone, if I see you again, I WILL be wanted for murder, you fucking psycho.”
“EDDIE!” You yelled at him to get his attention, but he didn’t listen or stop.
“Is that a threat I just heard?” Charlie yelled through the glass.
“No, it’s a fucking PROMISE!” Eddie yelled, punching the car window with all of his might. The door to Charlie’s car opened, and Eddie backed up, letting him get out.
“Eddie, I swear to god. You don’t know who you’re messing with!” You yelled at him as you cautiously approached the two guys.
“Hey, you. Damn, you look good tonight, Caleb wasn’t lying.”
“Hey, HEY! Fuck off, man.” Eddie shoved him back, and before you knew it, you were running at the two, pulling Eddie back before Charlie got a chance to take a swing at him. Instead, it landed on your shoulder. You barely winced as you faced him.
“Charlie, get the fuck out of here.”
“Mmm, baby I miss hearing my name come out of your mouth.” He took a few steps closer to you, and you were wondering where Eddie was right now to protect you, then you heard him heaving into the gravel beside Charlie’s car.
“Please don’t do this again.” You begged, “just please, please fucking go.”
“Miss that begging too.” He stepped closer and you pushed him back again, begging for your boyfriend to stop puking his brains out.
“Take one more step closer to Harrington and your ass is getting it, Charlie. Get the fuck outta here.” Hopper had finally made it, and he was stepping between you two. “Did I stutter? Go home. If I ever hear about any of you stalking Harrington, Munson, anyone again, your whole family is going to get it.” Hopper was standing over Charlie, chest to chest as much as he could. Charlie cowered back, crawled into his car, and they drove away. Eddie was still bent over, and you started crying again.
“Hey, hey. It’s okay.”
“No it’s not, I’m not even safe here. And now I can’t even get home because he’s so fucking drunk he can’t drive, and I can’t either because I’m drunk too, and I’m having another panic attack because the other one never ended and-”
“Shhh, calm down. Take a deep breath. I’m here, I’m the officer on call tonight. I can get you home and I can get my buddy to get Munson’s van home too, alright? I called for backup- he should be here soon.”
“I- I don’t wanna go with him, I wanna go home.” Eddie stood up and wiped his mouth, he seemed to have finished.
“C’mon, I thought we could go home and celebrate baby.”
“Celebrate what?” You asked him, clueless.
“We signed onto their label tonight.” Normally, you would’ve been happy for Eddie. But not tonight, not right now. Not the way he completely was ignoring the events of the night, and his lack of attempt to make you feel safe tonight.
“You go get in my car, I’ll wait with him til my buddy gets here.” Hopper motioned to his vehicle and you walked over, ignoring Eddie calling your name. The tears started falling faster the closer you got to the car, and finally you let out the sobs once you shut the door. You really didn’t want to subject Hopper to your drunk crying the entire way back to your house, so you took as many deep breaths as you could possibly try before you saw him cross in front of the car again.
“They’re taking him home and his ride along is getting his van so it’s not here all night. You alright? He hurt you?”
“Charlie got a hit in, but it’s-”
“I’m talking about Munson. Already gonna get more paperwork filed on Charlie and his crew. Eddie hurt you?” You shook your head and quieted the sobs trying to escape.
“I’ve picked up Nancy and Robin from enough parties and they were crying over boys… and girls. You can let it out, Harrington.”
“He- he didn’t hurt me.” Your shoulders shook as you sobbed, “I promise. I’m just upset about him getting so shit faced and trying to drive me home, and he wasn’t there in the bar when Caleb got his hands on me.” You didn’t know when he started driving but the moving of the car was making you feel nauseous. You weren’t going to get sick, but your stomach was turning from the anxiety of the night.
“Don’t worry about any of them after tonight, okay? And don’t let yourself be alone, especially somewhere like the Hideout. I don’t trust any of those kids, they’re all little shits.”
You nodded, your sniffing was all that could be heard over the sounds coming from Hopper’s radio scanner.
You pulled up at your house, Steve’s car was parked in the driveway by itself, meaning your parents were out, possibly at a party, or gone, but you didn’t give a shit. You were just glad to be home.
“Thanks.” You tried to open the door from the inside, but forgot that you couldn’t unlock it since it was a cop car, and Jim got out to unlock your door.
“Steve home?” You shrugged. “Can I come up to the door and talk to him, I heard about-”
“Yeah, you can come in.” You said, not wanting to hear or talk about anything else tonight.
“Hey, wasn’t expecting you.” Steve said from the couch where he was watching a movie, “or you, Hop. What’s up?” He got up from the couch, and all but chased after you after he got a glance at your running makeup from the side, “hey, what happened?”
“Nothing, I’m going to bed.” Steve put his hand on your shoulder and you pushed him back, “don’t fucking touch me, I’m going to bed!” You yelled at him, crying more as you stormed up the stairs.
“She’s gonna be fine, just let her go.” You heard Hopper tell your brother.
You reached your room and slammed the door shut, you collapsed in the bed, and you let even more cries out. The phone rang, and you groaned, picking it up and hanging it up again immediately. A few seconds later, it rang again. Maybe it was your parents.
“H-Harrington residence?”
“Baby, I’m so sorry.” Eddie slurred through the phone.
“I don’t want to talk to you tonight, leave me alone.” You hung up the phone, not giving him a chance to speak again.
Maybe coming back home was a mistake, but what other option did you have?

Warnings: swearing, smoking, tense situations, angst, fight fight fight, let me know if I miss anything!
Word count: 5.3k
a/n: Hey, all! Welcome to my first official post! If you enjoy, please like, reblog, etc! This was just a lil blurb, but I have other things in the works, so I’m hoping this goes well and I can continue to share with you all!
Tumblr media
“I need you and your big hair to calm down.”
Your brother looked to you quickly from the bathroom mirror, his face scrunched up at your comment.  “My hair is not big.”
“You say that and yet you’ve gone through your second can of hair spray this month,” you retorted, grabbing the can quickly in your hand.
Steve snatched for it but you held it behind you, ceasing any attempt of him grabbing it.  He sighed with a comb still lodged in his brown tuffs and leaned back against the counter.  Another disagreement between the two of you.  Nothing was new seeing as that was the typical way a brother and sister relationship stemmed.  From the time you were born, only a short year after Steve, you were at each other’s throats constantly and could never come to an agreement on anything.  Steve would steal your favorite toy that day from the toybox, so you’d steal the TV remote and sit on it to his disdain when your parents allowed you both to pick the nightly movie after dinner.  You’d spread gossip in the middle school of your older brothers crush on Tammy Thompson (before the singing career), and somehow most girls still believed in cooties, so he’d steal your clothes from your locker before gym class was over.  Today’s topic of conversation once again revisited your current dating life and now you were stealing his most prized possession.  This was the never ending, vicious, and annoying cycle only those who had a sibling could understand at the end of the day.
“I really don’t see what the big deal is,” you said, crossing your arms.  “Eddie and I have been seeing each other for almost a year now and you still refuse to hang out with him.”
“Yeah, it’s Eddie ‘The Freak’ Munson.  He runs that club Dustin and Mike are in, huge nerd, and he’s in a band that plays at the Hideout” he grumbled.  “Also, he’s way older than you.”
“He’s twenty, Steve.  It’s not like I’m a kid anymore,” you replied.  “Also, he’s a senior.  I’m a senior.  And Hellfire is actually really cool if you’d take up the invites I’ve extended.”
Steve shook his head, wagging his finger.  “No, no, you’re a senior.  This is his third time being a senior.”
“And he’s gonna graduate!  He finally has a C in Mrs. O’Donnell’s!”
“It’s still weird.  And just because you date him doesn’t mean I have to like it.”
A groan escaped you and your arms dropped from their defensive position.  “But the least you could do is be civil with him.  I can’t bring him over because you make everything so uncomfortable, and now with Nancy’s party coming I’d just like the two of you to get along for once!”
Steve looked to you after your minor outburst and his eyes traveled your face.  He couldn’t help but be a little annoyed by you but he hated that in a sense, you were right.  He’d only based his opinions on Eddie off of what he knew from when he went to Hawkins High and what he heard around town.  You’d always dealt with his on and off again flings that never worked out and continued to accept each one as they came through the door so why couldn’t he do the same for you?  It might be the older sibling in him screaming at him to watch out for his baby sister but you were getting older and dating was just naturally right behind.  The thought ran a chill down Steve’s spine.
“Fine,” he sighed, standing straight.  “I’ll…  I’ll try. Just this once.  But I’m not going to the board game nights, though.”
You squealed and the jump that came with it shocked your brother.  You could get past his comments this once.  “Thank you, thank you!  Oh, Steve, I could hug you!”  You made a face realizing what just came out of your mouth and you shook your head.  “But I won’t.  Gross.  Here’s your even grosser hairspray, I have to go call Eddie!”
You shoved the can back in his hand and spun on your heels, now ready to face your boyfriend and his dislike for Steve.  Steve, however, felt a small smile creep up on his face at your antics.  His head snapped up at ‘hairspray’ and he groaned.
“It’s not just hair spray!” he yelled after you, before looking to himself in the mirror.  “It’s Farrah Fawcett spray.”
                                            ●          ●          ●          ●
Eddie had come to pick you up for your nightly drive together as soon as you had called, and you couldn’t help the excitement that buzzed in you.  He took note of this and turned down the head pounding sounds of Motley to focus in as soon as you had climbed in the passenger seat.  “What’s got you riled up, sweetheart?  Missed me that much?”
You smirked, looking to the doe eyed boy. “You’re so full of it, Eds.”
He tossed his hand to his heart, making those big eyes of his twinkle in the light of the dashboard.  “Only full of my love for you.”
You couldn’t help the laugh that bustled out and Eddie soon joined in, his hand now grabbing yours in his.  He squeezed gently and you squeezed back, the cold of his rings sending goosebumps up your arm.  “Now come on, spill.  You sounded way too excited on the phone.”
You nodded.  “While yes, I definitely missed you, I talked to Steve today about Nancy’s party.”
His hand lost a little grip to yours and you looked to him quickly, the smile on his face slowly disappearing and you frowned in response.  “Eddie, it was a good conversation.  He didn’t even say much in the negative category.”
“Much?” Eddie scoffed.  “So I’m guessing we’re gonna talk about it.”
“Well, yeah.  I mean, I would just really like you both to get along,” you shrugged.
           Eddie made a face.
           “For one night.”
An eyebrow raised as he looked at you.            “For me.”
That was it.  Right there.  Eddie was caught.  How could he say no to you?  Your relationship had been nothing but perfect, and there was a happy balance of entertaining each others interests.  You’d attend Hellfire meetings with him and watch Corroded Coffin practice, he’d come to your piano recitals and help you finish your notes for book club.  You’d share musical interests with each other and watch every movie under the sun, and you’d both agree Sixteen Candles would never been an option.  His Uncle Wayne had taken an immense liking to you as soon as you and Eddie became friends, he’d even tag along to your piano recitals sometimes when work didn’t have him in a chokehold.
“I know you two have never really liked each other, but you’re my boyfriend, he’s my brother.  At the end of the day I don’t want to have to pick between the two of you, and Steve has agreed to set aside all of it for the party.  I just want you to be in the same boat.”
“Is it just one night?” Eddie questioned, his eyes searching yours.
“If I can get one night of civil between you two, I can die happy,” you smiled softly.  “And besides, it’ll be fun.  Everyone will be there, the kids, Nancy, Robin, Jonathon, and I’m making your favorite.”
“Stop,” he gasped, the twinkle coming back and he grinned. “Please tell me it’s your red velvet cake.”
“With the homemade icing,” you nodded, watching him throw the theatrics back on and he fanned himself.  “Mrs. Wheeler has been asking for the recipe since I made it at Holly’s birthday last year, figured the party would be a good time to make it.”
“It’s always a good time for anything you cook,” Eddie praised, making you shift in your seat.  “Now I’m really looking forward to this party.”
“Well,” you sighed, adjusting yourself in your seat and turning your full body towards him.  “I know something that might help the wait.”
He noticed the change in your tone and his eyes didn’t lose the glimmer, just a different glimmer now displayed and he double checked the gear and threw it in park, having turned into the high school parking lot. “Oh?  Did you make something else for me?”
“I brought only the best for you,” you smiled, leaning up and across the console separating you.
Eddie bit his lower lip and his hand grabbed lightly at your face.  “Show me, princess.”
Immediately obliging, you pressed your lips to his and he quickly pulled you over the console, resting in his lap.  He seemed to take all of this better than Steve. Maybe the party would work out in your favor, hell, maybe they could even be friends by the end of it? Maybe?  Right?
                                           ●          ●          ●          ●
“I think it’s nice you’re setting aside your differences for your sister,” Nancy said, pouring a bag of chips into a large serving bowl.  Robin and Steve were helping her with last minute food prep as they awaited everyone to arrive.  Pizza was already there, sodas were in the cooler, Robin even brought movies from Family Video and Steve dug out the old board games your parents had stored away.
“It’s just for tonight,” Steve retorted, grabbing a Coke and quickly opening it.  He could feel his usual nerves heightened with the agreement between you and him. He’d never admit it, but having his little sister genuinely involved with someone was a huge thing for him (but also it being Eddie didn’t exactly please him either).  “I told her I’d try for tonight.”
“Why don’t you, I dunno, try everyday?” Robin said, raising an eyebrow.  “You’re missing out on future brother in law bonding time.”
Steve winced, groaning out and waved his hands. “No, no, no, don’t say that.  You don’t know that.”
“Ah, but you don’t know either,” the short haired fiend quipped and shrugged.  “Also it wouldn’t kill you to maybe get to know Eddie and form your own opinion. He’s sat with us at lunch a few times, he’s not so bad.”
Steve looked to Nancy, his face stressed.  “Can you believe this?”
Nancy pursed her lips, finishing up last touches. “I don’t think it’s honestly a big deal.”
“What?  You agree?” Steve said.  “You’ve seen Munson and-“
“And,” Nancy interrupted.  “-nothing.  I don’t have an opinion on Eddie because I don’t know him that well.”
Robin gestured in support, throwing her arms out in front of her.  “See?”
“Well he doesn’t make the effort either,” Steve defended.  “So why should I?”
“One of you has to, or you both have the chance of losing y/n,” Nancy responded, raising her eyebrow at him.  “It takes effort from both of you.”
           “But-“
The sound of shouting and laughing came from the front room and Nancy looked at him once more.  “Behave.”
Steve sighed as the kids piled in the kitchen, scurrying over each other and grabbing what their hands could before Nancy shooed them.  “We have more people coming, guys, come on!”
Jonathon followed in, shouting after Will and Dustin as they brushed past him into the living room.  He smiled kindly to Steve and soon took to the tension that radiated from the older boy.  “You alright?”
Steve nodded, taking a quick drink of his Coke. “Yeah, just being scolded by women. Again.”
Jonathon laughed briefly before Steve spoke up once more.  “Is my sister here yet?”
“Uh, I think her and Eddie weren’t too far down the road,” he replied.  “I passed them on the way here.”
“Good, good,” he nodded. “Great, wonderful, terrific.”
Steve continued on a tangent of positive words and Jonathon glanced between the two girls, pointing to Steve with an eyebrow raised.  Nancy rolled her eyes and shook her head.  Robin shrugged, sipping exceptionally loud on her drink.  Jonathon made a face at both of them and could only anticipate what to expect going into tonights events.
The same thought had been crossing Eddie’s mind all day. He knew that despite how he felt, he needed to try his best for you.  That meant setting aside how he felt about your brother, how Steve made him feel all those years in school, every single time Steve laid the ‘freak’ bit on thick – Eddie was preparing himself to leave it all at the door as soon as you arrived to the party.  He could only hope Steve was on the same page and tonight would move rather seamlessly.  If all went according to plan, maybe they could continue hating each other again bright and early tomorrow morning.
“Whoa!” you yelped, almost bumping into Eddie who had stopped in front of you.  The cake in your hands was fragile cargo and you swerved, saving it from meeting it’s demise with the pavement.  “Jeez, Eds, if you want any of this cake I would appreciate if you kept both feet moving or a heads up would be greatly appreciated.”
He turned abruptly and made a face, scratching the back of his head.  “Um, yeah, sorry, sweetheart.  Just lost in thought."
You couldn’t help but smile softly at him.  His nerves were on full display and you knew Steve was most likely in the same boat.  You’d do whatever you could to ease both of the boys tensions, to prevent anything from escalating, and you hoped they both knew you were on their sides and not against them.  It would be beneficial not just for you but the group, too, if there was common ground and structure and not the constant state of tension so thick, of awkward conversations, of debating if it should be both Steve and Eddie invited or one or the other.  Not only was it hard for you, but your friends who were also in the same predicament you were with two of the group members holding it out for one another.
“It’s gonna be fine, Eds,” you said as you stepped up the small step to the door.  “Deep breaths, like I taught you.”
He snorted, pushing the door open for you.  “Aye, aye, captain.”
The eye roll that followed had Eddie pinching at your hips, causing you to yelp and laugh, trying to escape the attack.  “Eddie, stop!  I have a cake in-“
Your back met with a firm surface and you gasped, hands gripping the dish even tighter.  You wobbled slightly, your feet finding an uneven surface and hands gripped your arms to keep you from tripping even further.  The eyes of Steve looked back at yours when you glanced back and you sighed, standing straighter after regaining your footing.  “I almost dropped the cake, Steve.”
“Maybe Eddie shouldn’t goof off as much, then,” he stated plainly, removing his hands and making eye contact with Eddie who had set his lips in a fine, tight line at the statement.
“Come on, Steve,” Nancy quipped, stepping in the room. “He was just being a little silly, that’s all.  Y/n, Eddie, there’s food and drinks in the kitchen!  Come on, I’ll help you get that cake in a safer spot.”
You smiled to Nancy, looking back at Eddie and raised an eyebrow.  He shook his head and held up his pack of cigarettes, slipping past the three of you and towards the back doors.  A frown soon replaced the former smile and you slipped pass Steve into the kitchen. Nancy gave him a stern look and hustled behind you.  This would be a long night.

Eddie had rejoined the festivities shortly after his two cigarettes, his nerves only escalating at Steve and his comment.  Right off the bat, he had thought, he just had to jump into an accusatory stance.  He bit his tongue in your defense, but how long could he keep that up?  Jonathon and him had gotten into conversation you had overheard, and watched quietly from a distance.  Nancy and Robin chitchatted next to you, and the kids were already causing Steve’s inner mother to kick in.  Lucas and Mike were tossing a ball back and forth in the living room, Dustin and Will had turned on their favorite radio station and were singing much off tune to Madonna (much to everyone’s surprised enjoyment, even Eddie who only ever consumed that of every heavy 80’s metal or hairband), and Max and El were currently in a contest of who could crush a soda can the fastest: Max against her forehead, or El with her actually head?  Steve was in the current stages of trying to prevent possible brain damage, to both.  Erica was continuously bugging you for a slice of cake, to which you turned her down everytime.
           “Nerd,” she’d grumble.
“Don’t you agree?” Robin asked, bumping her hip into yours and you quickly looked to her, eyebrows raised.  You waited and she glanced to Nancy, then back.  “Have you really not been listening?  Babes, this is the impending doom of the possibility of not getting new band uniforms.”
“Oh, no,” you breathed, the end of ‘no’ hitching slightly in question and you couldn’t help the giggle that followed when Robin groaned.  Nancy joined in the laughter and Robin threw her hands up in exasperation.
“Fine!  I’ll go complain to Steve!”
“That might be good, actually,” you suggested, watching Steve stumble by with Dustin on his back and attempting to smack his hands away. “Looks like he could use the help.”
“Dustin!  Dustin, Steve is not a piñata!” Robin hollered, following after them as you and Nancy watched in amusement.
“So,” Nancy started in, refilling your cups and returning her gaze to the events taking place in the room next to you.  “They haven’t fought.”
“Ssh!” you snapped quickly, looking to her.  “Nance, you’ll jinx it!  This is the most I’ve seen them not go at each other, even if they are just keeping to themselves.  It’s a start and I’d like to keep it that way.”
“How long do you think it’ll keep up, though?” she asked honestly.  When you frowned at her question she set a hand on your arm.  “I want you happy, you’re my friend.  Knowing those two bone heads, though, I just worry they’ll drop the façade when you aren’t looking.”
Your frown creased even further into your face.  “I don’t know what I’m gonna do, Nance.  It’s my brother and my boyfriend.  I love them both, but I don’t wanna lose either of them.”
“I know,” Nancy sighed, before perking up.  “What if-“
“Watch it!” Steve shouted, and all eyes directed into the living room.
Eddie dusted Dustin’s shoulders off, before looking to Steve.  “You almost crashed the kid into the bookshelf, man, you should be the one watchin’ it.”
Steve scoffed, rolling his eyes.  “Like earlier when you nearly pummeled my sister into the ground?”
“Goddammit, Nancy,” you mumbled before stepping up a ways. “Steve, it was-“
His eyes cast to you and he scoffed.  “An accident?  Like anytime y’all horse around?”
“Hey,” Eddie snapped, stepping up to your side. “I’ve never laid a hand on her like that.”
           “Like what?” Steve retorted.
“You know exactly what you mean,” Eddie said.
Jonathon stepped up now, followed by Dustin.  “Come on, guys, everyone just caught up in the moment.  Everyone’s good.”
Steve shook his head.  “I’ll be good when he’s gone.”
“Steve!” Nancy said, shaking her head.
“Like hell!” Eddie laughed.  “I was invited!”
You sat a hand on Eddie’s shoulder, looking to him. “Eddie, calm down.”
“Fine!  Then I’ll go!” Steve said, and he looked to you.  “Come on, Y/N, we’re leaving.”
Everyone stared, Robin trying to talk quietly to Steve who was having none of it.  Nancy looked to Jonathon with a worried expression and the kids clamored to the other side of the room, just watching.  You stared at your brother in disbelief and shook your head.  “Steve, we just all need a break, please!  Let’s just all breathe a second!”
           “We can breathe at home.”
Steve stepped up and grabbed your arm, causing Eddie to grab the other.  You squeaked at the force of the two boys, looking to Nancy with wide eyes.  They had never escalated to protectiveness with you involving each other in the same moment, it had never gotten this heated before and the worry crept in the pit of your stomach, causing bile to slowly rise in the back of your throat.  You swallowed it down, the panic on your face evident and Nancy immediately jumped in.
“Boys!” Nancy yelled, grabbing onto Steve and Jonathon grabbing Eddie.
“Come on, guys, this is stupid,” Jonathon added and patted Eddie on his back.
“She doesn’t wanna go,” Eddie snarled, staring Steve right in the face.
“I’m her brother, older might I add, so what I say goes,” Steve responded, Nancy tugging on his belt loop.
“Guys, please stop!” you cried, wiggling in their grips.  “You said you’d try!  Just break it up!”
Dustin and Max came up, prying the older boys grips and Robin stepped up to pull you aside, her arm slipping around your shoulders. Eddie shook his head, chuckling to himself and turned away from Steve which caused Jonathon to loosen his grip. Nancy kept a petite finger interloped in Steve’s belt loop for safe keeping.
“Steve, why don’t we go outside for a minute?”  Nancy mumbled, tugging lightly.
Steve broke his gaze on Eddie, wiping a hand down his face. He nodded slowly and turned towards her. “Yeah… yeah anything to get away from that freak.”
The words slipped out without a second thought. Steve froze, as did everyone else, and eyes landed on Eddie.  The panic that set in was worse than the first time and you pulled away from Robin, going to Eddie immediately.  As soon as the words were out, Eddie’s shoulders tightened and his back went straight. Jonathon could see his face and he watched every emotion cross over it – shock, realization, anger, guilt, sadness, absolute rage.  Eddie couldn’t register who was near him and his hearing went into a high frequency pitch.  His eyes darkened and the only thing you felt was the shove, a rush of air, and your back hitting the counter of the island.  “Eddie, no!”
Eddie swung first.  His fist connected quickly with Steve’s jaw and the elder boy stared stone cold at him as Steve stumbled to the ground.
“Shit,” Dustin muttered and everyone was quick in action.
Steve jumped up from the ground, Will and Mike trying to hold him back while Jonathon and Dustin grabbed for Eddie.  Lucas moved Max and Erica out of the way and Robin and Nancy stepped up to your side.
“Let me go!” Steve yelled.  “Let me go!”
“Knock it off!” Mike snapped, stumbling at the tug Steve attempted away from the younger boys.
“Come on!” Eddie cackled.  “Let pretty boy get a nice swing in!”
           “Don’t push it!” Jonathon snapped.
“I’m slipping!” Dustin yelled, his palms clammy and his upper arm strength nonexistent in the pull Eddie had.
“Eddie, Steve, stop!” you shouted.  “Stop right now!”
“I’ll never understand what my sister sees in you!” Steve shouted, glaring.  “She could do so much better!”
Eddie scoffed and licked his lips.  “Like I haven’t heard that before!  At least I can land a gal, you strike out on every chance you get!  So much for being the Hawkins King!”
           “Shut up!” you again yelled.
“Maybe you should listen to your girlfriend!  She’s clearly got the brains in this relationship!” Steve smirked.  “Third times a charm right?”
“It’s no wonder she hates being at home!” Eddie started, and you froze.  “I wouldn’t want to be around someone as idiotic, full of themselves, and a kiss ass like you!”
“Bullshit she doesn’t want to be at home!  It’s better than that trailer trash park you’re in! I’m surprised she hasn’t brought home bed bugs or lice!”
“Ask her then!  You don’t even try to get to know her anyway, so what does it matter!”
           “I know my sister!”
           “Like hell!”
Tears began to well in your eyes and you tried your best to swallow them down.  The adrenaline was suffocating, everyone getting their own taste of it.  Dustin’s grip slowly lost and Eddie pulled free the rest of the way, Steve finding his way out from Will and Mike.  Everyone started yelling all at once when the two got ahold of each other, causing mass chaos to ensue.  Fists flying, Eddie landed another blow to Steve’s eye – it would definitely be swollen in the next hour and shut completely by the end of the night.  Steve tumbled around with Eddie, landing two good blows into his ribs causing the metalhead to yell out – they weren’t broken but there would definitely be major bruising and tender for a while.  You attempted your own chance at pulling them apart, but the force of the two sent you stumbling and Nancy shouted, anger setting in for her at the two acting this way in her home.  “Knuckleheads, break it up or I’ll call Hopper!”
The two continued their dance, nearly tumbling into the three of you and Steve slammed Eddie against the counter top.  Eddie flailed beneath him and Steve sent a blow to his jaw, causing Eddie to yelp in pain.  He glared up at Steve and reached around him for anything that would help him gain some traction.
His hand landed in something mushy, his fingers feeling a heavy, thick, consistency on them but he went with it.  Eddie grabbed a fist full and landed a blow into Steve’s face, causing him to gasp and lose his hold.  Steve wiped his face, red crumbs and white icing coating his hand. He stared at it before looking up and it was on before you could stop them.  Steve grabbed his own fist full and the two went back to it, cake and icing flying in every which direction.  Food and drinks came with it and everyone yelled as soon, the entire party was coated in carbonation, crumbs of chips, and icing being flung every which direction.  Nancy tried to block herself, screaming out in anger.  Oh, how much trouble she was going to be in for this later.
You felt the tears brimming, pushing, and soon tumbling over your waterline.  They were heavy, hot, and quickly cascading down your face.  Your chest heaved as you struggled to catch your breath and everything moved in slow motion in front of you.  The cake was destroyed, demolished, gone, as were any chances of your two favorite people reconciling and putting any differences behind them.  There went any chances of family dinners, trips, any chances of enjoying a Corroded Coffin show, any chances of a future that was healthy with either one.  You watched as they continued their antics, neither one of them sparing any glance to check on you, to see your reaction, for any sign or confirmation that you were okay.  In this moment, it was about Steve and Eddie.  It was always about Steve and Eddie.  Reflecting and looking back, even when it was you and only one of them, it turned around to discuss the other.
Steve always wanted to know what Eddie was doing, who he was hanging out with, where you were going with him, if Eddie was trying to sell you weed, if you two were drinking.  Anything he could get dirt on for your parents.  Eddie always wanted to know what Steve was doing, if he was working, when he was working, and when he’d be home so he could plan exactly to come get you at the worst time just to annoy him.  It was little things, it was spiteful, and the two couldn’t leave high school behind.  Where did you even fit in to the equation?  At that point it’d be better for them to just date each other.
Making your way to the now empty cake platter, a splash of Coke greeting you in the face on your trek, you grabbed the glass dish firmly in your hands.  The porcelain was completely clean, smooth, no crumbs of what had been.  This is what your life would be now; clean, smooth, no crumbs of what had been.  The surface, slipping back and forth in your hands, would not survive this fight either. Arms raising above your head, you could hear your pulse in your ears, not even the shout from Robin when she saw what you were doing, it was so loud.  Even when you screamed out in frustration, you couldn’t hear how actually loud you were, how it was almost deafening as the realization set over the situation in front of you.  Most everyone covered their ears with their hands, wide eyed and cowering back from what was to come.  With your screaming, you quickly brought the plate crashing down to the kitchen tile and shards of glass went flying.  The small pieces grazed your bare calves, probably not the best time to be wearing shorts.  Steve and Eddie were the two closest to the line of fire, both of them turning away and blocking their faces.  When the glass had calmed, that’s when your screaming did, and the deafening silence that followed felt louder.
Everyone looked around, food and drink covering every surface in the kitchen and half of the living room.  The glass had spread from the bottom of your feet into the line of the living room, down the tile of the kitchen, and even some had managed to bounce to the countertop.  All eyes slowly landed on you, Eddie and Steve both finally taking in the mass destruction of what they had caused.  Tears continued to stream down your face, mixed with the icing slabbed on your cheek and the stain of Coke all along the collar and upper shoulders of your shirt. Eddie looked to your legs and saw the thin lines of blood from the shards, before meeting your face again.  Steve watched as your shoulders shook from the sobs held in, your face as red as the cake you had made.
           Oh shit, the cake.
           “Oh, baby,” Eddie started.
“Kiddo, I-“ Steve added at the same time.
“No!” you sobbed.  The room grew quiet again.  All eyes were on you.  This was your time.
“I-“ you started, taking a deep breath to try and align yourself.  “I didn’t want to lose- to lose either of you.  I wanted th-this to work.  Just once!”
Guilt began creeping over the boys, disappointment settled in Steve’s bones as he knew he let you down, Eddie feeling his own tears start to grow at the state you were in.  They didn’t want this.
“But now,” you chuckled, causing both boys to go rigid in fear.  “Now I realize you’re losing me.”
You looked to each of them, a sob tight in your chest and you choked it back.  With shaking hands, you wiped the remaining food from your face, and brushed past the two of them and everyone else.  The sobs finally racked your chest as you quickly made your way out the door, slamming it shut behind you.
Steve and Eddie looked around before looking at each other.  They both were fucked up.  And they had fucked up.  Big time.

I have a request! because with the thoughts that I have with Eddie, I am running out of underwear. Anyway… here’s my idea:
A SMUTTY SMUT SMUT fanfic with Eddie Munson x Fem Reader who is Steve’s sister. Somehow the reader finds her way into Eddie’s trailer (she has a huge crush on him) and things get really steamy. I’m thinking a little something of Eddie wanting to take it to his bedroom but the reader is so needy and wants it now in the kitchen area by the door. Things continue to get really heated but right before the reader is about to climax there a knock on the door; it’s Steve looking for the reader. Eddie being Eddie he opens the door but not all the way while the reader sits in the counter next to the door. I really want this!! Eddie reached his hand to cover her mouth and slowly moves his hand down to her throat to slightly choke her. When he finally gets Steve to leave, he turns to the reader and tells her how much of a naughty little mix she is and continues to punish her.
PLEASE!!!
Eddie Munson x Fem!Harrington!Reader
Okay so I got a little carried away with this and it’s probably the smuttiest thing I’ve ever written so I hope that makes up for how long it’s taken me to write this, anyway I really hope you enjoy it.
Word Count: 2801
Also I don’t think I’ve made this clear in the fic but although reader is Steve’s little sister she is over 18, please don’t come for me. I feel like I need to add that this just pure smut so if you are under 18 please dni thank you.

To say Eddie was surprised when Steve’s little sister turned up on his doorstep was an understatement. “Steve’s not here” he said watching the way her face fell at his words and he figured that was because she was looking for her brother and not because she was foolishly expecting him to be happy to see her.
When she doesn’t answer, Eddie assumes that the conversation is over and goes to close the door only to find it stopped before he can shut it. “I’m not here for Steve” she says, a slight waver in her voice as she drops her arm away from the door as it reopens, revealing an even more confused Eddie.
“Then what’re you here for?” he asks, an eyebrow raised in question as he crosses his arms across his chest while he waits for an answer. Though when she does, he’s even more surprised by her answer and while he tries not to let it show on his face he can’t help it, she’s caught him off guard as his mouth drops open and his eyes widen. Surly he’d heard her wrong but when she carries on, it only confirms that he had heard her right.
“You like me, given that Robin’s nervous ramblings of what Steve had spilled to her of your drunken confession is correct” she says, nerves beginning to creep up on her now that he’s stood quietly in front of her. She’d had this whole speech rehearsed, even practised it in front of the mirror until she was confident that she could deliver it without a problem but now being here all she could manage was a feeble, “for what it’s worth I like you too”
Eddie almost missed her confession, his brian swirling with thoughts of how he was going to kill Steve for gossiping about him with Robin when he knows the girl can’t keep her mouth shut in various situations. Call him a hypocrite considering he was the cause of the problem for opening his mouth in the first place, it gave him hope that Steve wouldn’t kill him in return if anything did happen between him and his sister.
Remembering that she’s still on his doorstep, waiting on him to say something and just when she’s expecting him to turn her away, telling her that it was all a big misunderstanding, he invites her in. Unsure of what to do now that their feelings for the other are out in the open, they each sit awkwardly on the couch, backs straight and hands clasped in their own lap, each of them a mirror image of the other. “So” Eddie speaks, the word drawn out as his eyes flit around the room as he avoids looking at her.
“So” she repeats, her lips drawing into a thin line as her legs bounce beneath her hands, the earlier confidence she’d had completely dissipated now that she was here with him. It takes a second for her to realise that he’s saying her name, too consumed within her own thoughts to realise that he sounds closer as well until she turns to find his face inches from her own, her eyes locking with his as she gives in and makes the first move, leaning the last few inches to close the gap as her eyes flutter closed the moment her lips meet his.
The first kiss doesn’t last long, it’s messy and rushed, filled with clashing of teeth and bumping of noses as they get used to the feeling of each other but when they pull apart, they both are smiling like idiots. Neither have any words for what has just happened and it seems she’s had enough of them skating around the other, deciding to just take what she wants, pushing Eddie back on the couch before sliding off her pants, leaving her in just her panties as climbs onto his lap.
“So that’s how we’re doing things, huh?” he smirks, resting his hands on her thighs, just above her knees as he squeezes the flesh there. Chuckling as she shuffles her body closer so that her chest is pressed against his own as she leans in again for another kiss. This time it’s more controlled so there's less clashing of teeth and more melding of lips, though it doesn’t lessen their want for the other and it’s not long before Eddie’s hands have slid up her thighs to her hips, controlling the movements of her hips as she grinds into him.
She’s moaning into his mouth as he kisses her, urging him on and hoping that he’ll take the wet spot forming on her panties for what it is, her desire for him, all of him. It seems he gets the hint as in one flawless movement, he slides his hands from her hips to under her ass which he uses to lift her body as though she was only a ragdoll as he stands from the couch and goes to make his way towards the bedroom all the while kissing her fervently. The thought of him throwing her around like a ragdoll has a primal need building inside her, taking over the logical part of her brain and telling her she can’t wait the last few steps to the bedroom.
Throwing her arms out grabbing onto anything that’s within her reach, she finally latches onto one of the cupboards as they pass through the small kitchen area. It results in Eddie losing his balance and pushing her, rather roughly, against said cupboard forcing a deep groan to leave her. Worrying for a second that she is hurt, Eddie pulls away and his eyes scan her features for any sign of pain but instead he only finds a deep sated lust shining in her eyes as she pushes forward to try and regain the kiss, whining pathetically when he moves out of reach.
“You are not as innocent as everyone believes princess,” he pants, breathless from their kissing, his eyes blown with desire as he chuckles darkly, a thought coming to mind, “imagine what your brother would say if he found out what his sweet little sister is really like” Her eyes widen at his words. Steve could never know, he was already fiercely protective over her so she couldn’t imagine what he’d do if he found out how she liked to be treated during sex.
“Eddie no please” her plea goes unanswered as he busies himself running the pad of his thumb over her swollen lips, leaning in to kiss her again just as a knocking at the door starts, followed by none other than Steve’s voice.
Eddie brings his palm up to cover her mouth, his eyes bearing into her own, “Not a sound princess” he orders, releasing her mouth only to drop his hand to her throat when he doesn’t get an answer, “got it” he says harshly, increasing the pressure of his fingers that has her stuttering out half a moan and half a cry of ‘yes’ in answer to him. “Good girl” he smiles, dropping an unexpectedly sweet kiss to her lips before he removes his hand from her neck and strides over to the door.
“Harrington” he says unamused as he raises an eyebrow at him in question to his unannounced visit, seems like it’s something the two Harrington siblings have in common. The door bounces as if it’s been pushed but Eddie has a tight hold on it to avoid it opening and revealing her, Eddie’s patience is running a little lower than normal as he groans out a ‘what do you want?’
“Have you seen my sister?” Steve asks and she can hear the frustration in his voice, “she left a note to say she was coming over here to study but mom needs her for something” he explains hoping that it would make Eddie budge if he was in fact hiding his sister.
“Nope not here now if you don’t mind I have company” Eddie urges, hoping that Steve would get the hint that it was the end of the conversation.
What she doesn’t see is the way Steve finally registers Eddie’s appearance from his messy hair to his swollen lips and blown pupils and Steve blushes red in embarrassment when it clicks in his brain just what Eddie means by ‘company’. She doesn’t miss the ‘oh ohhhh’ as the realisation hits and she hides her laughter behind her hand at how much of an idiot her brother could be at times.
Finally getting rid of Steve, he turns back to her but the look on his face wipes her previous amusement off her face. Under his gaze she feels very much like she’s his prey and he’s getting ready to go in for the kill, “You left him a note, you wanted him to catch us didn’t you princess” he says as he makes his way back to her, his hands coming up to rest on the cupboard beside her head as he cages her in against it, “you really are a dirty girl aren’t you?” he smirks.
“I-I just didn’t want him to worry where I was” she defends weakly, her voice faltering under the intensity of his gaze as her hands clutch the ends of her shirt tightly. “I didn’t think he’d come find me, maybe only call,” she added.
“Oh you thought he’d call, was that your plan to talk to your big brother while my dick is buried deep in that wet little cunt of yours” Eddie growls, smirking in amusement as a visible shiver runs through her body and a moan leaves her lips. “You like that princess, yeah, maybe another time though because I’m going to take you right here, right now” he says, leaving no room for arguments, not that she had any, as he rips her shirt from her body and follows it by ripping her panties off as well.
Standing there bare in front of him while he’s still fully clothed has her trying to cover herself with her arms but Eddie’s quick to stop her, grabbing her hands and pinning them above her head in one of his own. “No let me look at you princess” he chides, letting his free hand explore the skin of her chest and she whines pathetically when he pinches her nipple, rolling it between two fingers as his gaze flickers to her face, “So pretty, now how about we give that pretty pussy of yours some attention” he asks even though he knows the answer, smiling when her head nods eagerly.
“Careful princess don’t want to hurt yourself” he says, gently taking a hold of her face to stop her nodding after her head hits against the cupboard door. Once he’s sure she’s okay, his hand drifts south again, leaving a trail of goosebumps in its wake as it trails over her chest, her tummy and her hips before it comes to a stop on the inside of her thighs which are already wet from his teasing.
“Please” she begs as his eyes drift from where his hand rests to her eyes and that’s all it takes for him to run his fingers through her folds, getting them wet enough that he can slide two of them easily into her. Her knees buckle as she lets out a moan of his name but Eddie’s quick to steady her, removing his hand from hers where they’re still pinned above her head to her waist, where he holds tightly. “So big” she moans as his fingers begin to move inside of her, in and out, in and out, the motion repeating until all that can be heard in the trailer is the wet sounds of his fingers, her heavy breathing and her moans.
Eddie can’t help but laugh at her statement, “If you think they’re big then wait until you feel my dick stretching you out” he smiles as he leans in closer to her face, “because that’s what you came here for isn’t it princess” he growls into her ear as she cries out in pleasure, “yeah I know now come for me and you can have my dick” as soon as the words have left his mouth she’s cumming, soaking his fingers as her body writhes in place from where he’s got her pinned to the cupboard door.
He gives her the time it takes for him to undress to come down from her high before he’s back on her, wrapping her legs around his waist and positioning himself at her entrance. “Ready for me sweetheart” he asks, his voice soft and eyes searching as he checks in with her, waiting for her consent before he slowly eases into her and lets her get used to his size. He knew what she wanted but there was no way that was happening until Eddie was sure she was going to be okay because he may be acting cruel but that was not how he was.
“Shit Eddie so good, so much better than I imagined” she panted, she’d never felt so full than right at that moment with him nestled inside her.
“Yeah you’ve thought about this, tell me” he orders, pulling out and snapping his hips back into her as his hands gripped tight at her waist keeping her back pressed up against the cupboard door so that she didn’t fall. When she whines instead of answering, he snaps his hips faster, pushing harder inside of her listening as it pushes the breath from her lungs, “tell me” he demands.
“Oh just like this and uh in your van after He-Hellfire” she moans, hands like a vice grip on his shoulders as he growls out ‘more’ to get her to keep talking, “those damn handcuffs of yours-fuck and I can’t, I- Eddie m’gonna cum again” she cries, body shaking again and Eddie has to fight, using all his strength not to drops her.
Although when he feels her clenching around him, his legs almost give way with how good it feels and he pushes forward, crushing her against the door as he uses it to support the both of them. “Yeah princess cum for me again” he encourages, warily removing a hand from her waist and bringing it to her clit where he rubs small fast circles as it finally tips her over the edge. Her body arching into him as she clenches even tighter around his dick than he thought was possible and it’s enough to almost having him cumming as well but he holds it off, frantically asking “Gonna come sweetheart, where do you want it”
“In-inside me” she manages to get out with the pleasure still coursing through her, vaguely feeling him thrust once, twice more before he cums. His head falling against her sweat slicked, heaving chest as he moans through his orgasm until her still clenching walls are too much for his sensitive dick and he pulls out of her.
“That was”
“I know” she hums, accepting his lips in a sweet kiss, sighing when he eventually pulls away.
“We should probably get cleaned up” he suggests and she nods in agreement, expecting him to put her down and then lead her to the bathroom but instead he carries her there, setting her gently on the counter by the sink, “didn’t know how steady you’d be so I figured this would be easier” he explains, seeing her confused expression before he turns to look for a washcloth.
Once they’re wiped down, Eddie collects their clothes from earlier, bringing her panties to her with one of his shirts. He’s already dressed himself in sweats and his shirt from earlier as he brings her the phone. “So you can let Steve know where you are or I can give you a lift home” he smiles sheepishly as she takes it, secretly hoping that she doesn’t ask for the latter.
“I’ll be two minutes” she nods, dialling her home number and praying that Steve answers and not her parents, “then I’m all yours” she winks at him before quickly turning her attention to Steve’s voice on the other end of the line, leaving a smiling Eddie running to clear his bed for the two of them.
It takes Steve nearly an hour after she’s rung to let him know she’s staying the night at Eddie’s before he puts it all together. “Motherfucker” he shouts at no one in particular, though it does get him a scolding from his mother who hears it from down the hallway. If only she knew what her precious daughter was up to, he thought as he buried his head in his pillow, trying to erase the thought of Eddie and his sister out of his brain.

Overbearing, Protective, Dick Head Older Brothers
Pairin: Eddie Munson x Harrington!reader
Summary: Y/N is Steve's younger sister, and dating Eddie Munson. She believes to have been hiding her and Eddie's relationship well but that's obviously not true. It seems to her all her close friends know besides her older brother... until he eventually does.
Warning: cursing, talk of religion, terrible title, bad summarizing 😬 I think that's it.

“Okay, so I was thinking.” I start to say as I walk next to Eddie on our way to the cafeteria.
 “Oh, well that’s never good.”
I laugh with non-existent humor, “Very funny, asshole.”
As the cafeteria starts to come into view, I feel Eddie rest his hand on my lower back and nuzzle his face into my neck, or at least try to before I gently push him off.
“Eddie, not here.” I say giggling.
“Why? I don’t know about you, Y/N, but I don't see any over-bearing, protective, dick head, older brothers around.” He pretends to glance around as he starts to open the cafeteria door for me.
“Hey, don’t say that! He just cares, is all, maybe a little too much but it’s still something. And you’re right, Steve isn’t around but someone might tell him.”
“Oh yeah? Like who?” We’re entering the lunch line, when I start to get cautious of who’s around.
“I feel like you’ve forgotten no one knows about us, Eds. And even if they did Mike, Lucas, Dusty, Max, and Robin could still snitch. Remember he used to be King Steve? You’d be surprised whose loyalty still stands.” I lower my voice just slightly, and add dramatic air quotes to the words, “King Steve.”
“Come 'on do you honestly think they don’t already know? If there’s one thing, I’ve learned this past year it’s that those kids aren’t stupid. I mean, it’s not like they would rat us out even if they did know.”
I grab my lunch tray and look behind me to see Eddie following me as I walk over to a lunch table that Mike, Lucas, Dustin, and Max are occupying. Robin is usually also at the table; some people might find it a little weird that seniors sit with some dorky freshmen at lunch but after about a month we got used to the stares.
“Why is it that you don’t want Steve to know again?” Eddie starts to walk a step ahead of me, and turns toward me, walking backwards.
“First of all, you’re going to trip. Second of all, he’s been through a lot, he’s got a ton on his mind, and lastly, you guys aren't exactly two peas in a pod.”
“Bullshit! You’ve been through a lot too. Listen, Harrington’s a big boy I’m sure he can handle some surprising news.”
I pull out a chair next to Max with my foot and Eddie sits next to me, “We’ll talk about it later.” I tell him.
I see Eddie glance around the table, which causes me to also glance at our friends around us. I find myself turning to see them already looking at me, and well, Eddie.
I smile awkwardly and try to search for something to say to distract them from me and Eddie, when I catch a glimpse of Robin walking with her lunch tray. I wave my hand at her so she can see where we are sitting.
They all break their focus from me and Eddie when Robin, she plops down across from me, “You guys won't believe the day I’ve had!”
Robin starts ranting, and I try to open my can of coke, but I find myself struggling a bit.
“Fuck.” I’m getting frustrated when Eddie pulls the can from my hand and pops it open the first try.
“Language, sweetheart.” He says, handing me my soda and winking at me.
I push my tray a little bit forward since I have no plans on eating any of it and open my backpack.
“So, you never told me what you were thinking about.” Eddie’s voice is hushed and his mouth is slightly tilted to my ear.
“hmph, yeah. I was thinking we should go see a drive-in movie for our date tonight. I never would’ve thought about it but Nancy was telling me about when she went with Johnathan before he moved.”
“Ah, I like that idea, Y/N. What movie would we be seeing?”
I finally found what I was looking for in my backpack, when I start explaining, “I was pretty set on watching Pretty in Pink, it came out a couple months ago but I never got the chance to see it-”
I pause mid-sentence and waver a sandwich bag with two chocolate chip cookies in front of Eddies face, “want one?”
He nods so I hand him one and continue on, “But they also have The Nightmare on Elm Street if you don't want to watch some girly chick flic.”
I watch as Eddie takes a glance over at everyone in the corner of his eye and smugly places his hand on my thigh. I freeze in place, still eating my cookie however, when Eddie says, "No, no, it’s all good. I’m fine with seeing Pretty in Pink.”
“Are you sure? I know how much you like Nightmare on Elm Street.” I tell him, raising my brows.
“I’m positive. Besides, as long as I’m with you, I don't care what we do.”
 “You’re too sweet, Eds.”
In a matter of milliseconds, Eddie sweeps both of my legs over his lap, and uses his arm to pull me closer, putting his nose in my neck and pretending to smell me. I’m still sitting in my chair but Eddie’s hair is tickling me so I start to squeal and laugh, trying to push him away from my neck. I throw my head back giggling when Eddie finally stops and tells me, “Nope. That’s all you, Y/N.”
I’m catching my breath when I can practically feel eyes burning into my soul so I look up to see Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Max, and Robin staring at us. I straighten faster than I ever had, smoothing down my hair and dusting of my shirt. Eddie is looking down, with a shy smile on his face, pink is blooming all over his cheeks. I clear my throat when Robin starts, “Were you guys even listening?”
“Of cour-” I try to cover up our mess.
“Jesus!” Max is looking away, rubbing her temples with her hand.
“For Christ sakes! Get a room!”
“Could you be any more obvious!”
 “Just friends, my ass.”
“It’s not what it looks like. We’re seriously, just friends.” I try to explain, desperately looking at Eddie.
“Uh yeah... Like we didn’t just hear you guys plan out your stupid cheesy date night.” Dustin states, giving us both an incredulous look.
And then I hear Mike burst out laughing, holding onto Lucas's shoulder for support, "As long as I'm with you my sweet baby." His voice is dropping a couple octaves as he mocks Eddie, pretending to coo in Lucas's ear.
I crumple up my napkin and hurdle it at Mikes head, as Eddie comes back at Mike and Dustin, "hey, hey, Mikey Man and Dusty Bun, don't be jealous just ‘cus your little Scarlet Witch and your Amish homesteader live states away from you."
As soon as I realize that Eddie has practically admitted our secret ardor, my eyes widen as big as saucers, “Eddie!”
The table starts to chuckle as Mike and Dustin look away rolling their eyes and Dustin says, “She’s Mormon you idiot.”
"Aw, you guys. I actually think they're really cute. It’s adorable really.” Robin is smiling from ear to ear.
“Ha well, you have to hand it to us, we’ve been doing a pretty great job at hiding it.” I point out proudly.
Everyone besides Eddie goes into a fit of laughter, “Uh- What?” I’m completely oblivious to whatever it is that I said to make them laugh.
Max stops, trying to catch her breath, “Ha, you can’t honestly think that we didn’t know about you guys.”
Eddie raises his brows at me as if to say, “I told you so,” My jaw falls open as I ask, “How long have you guys known?”
Mike rolls his eyes, “Please we’ve all known since the week after spring break.”
“Uh- you’ve got to be kidding me. That’s what when we started dating.” I say, finding this unbelievable.
Dustin and Lucas scoffs, “yeah, we know.”
Eddie rubs his hand up and down my thigh, in a much more innocent manner than before, trying to give me a piece of solace. I didn’t think to mention Steve because no one else did. I mean they’re not stupid, it isn’t like they would’ve told Steve either way, right?
“Have fun on your date tonight though.” Lucas says right when the bell rings.
Me and Eddie are the first to get up, and as we’re turning our back to them, we hear Mike, Dustin, and Max start moaning in a high-pitched manner, “oh ah oh, Eddie. Oh my god, Eddie!”
I whip my head around so fast, in time to see Robin chuck her soda can at them, “Hey! Shut up you little pervs!”
I hide my face in Eddies, neck groaning in embarrassment, and he seems to find this amusing because he just chuckles.
“It isn’t funny, Eds.” I give him a light shove on the chest.
“Sure, it isn’t, sweetheart.” Eddie tells me, pressing his lips to my forehead.
I give Eddie a quick goodbye kiss on the lips and open the passenger side door to his van, as we had just gotten back from our date, and he was dropping me off at my house. I was fulling expecting Eddie to stay in his van and watch me walk to the front door and then drive away, so when he also gets out of the van, I give him a questioning look, “What’re you doing?”
“Can I come in?” He asks me, I figured he’s asking because it’s quite late and my parents are home. Steve was probably asleep or out anyway.
I grab his wrist to look at his watch, to see it’s about to be eleven, so I nod and say, “Yeah, Steve is most likely sleeping or out with Robin. We’ll have to be quiet though.”
I’m jumbling with my keys at the front door, and finally open it only to see that the kitchen and living room light is on. I thought that maybe I felt the lights on so I continue leading Eddie to the living room. As we’re nearing the room, I hear laughter and snorting. The realization hits me that Steve is home and apparently has friends over.
“Fuck!” I whisper yell, pushing me and Eddie against the wall, where we can’t be seen.
“You’re really starting to take a liking to that word, Y/N.” Eddie tells me, smirking.
I roll my eyes at him, “Steve’s home.”
“Oh really? I thought it was the boogeyman. Who is he even with? It’s not like he has friends.”
I elbow him when I hear a familiar voice, “Man! You should’ve seen their faces when we told them that we knew!”
My eyes widen with horror as I turn to Eddie, still against the wall in the hall, “Shut up. It’s Dustin.”
I hear more familiar voices. Mike, Lucas, Dustin, Max and Robin are laughing while sixteen candles plays on the T.V.
 “Who’s faces?” Steve asks them.
 “Y/N’s and Eddie’s.” Max answers.
I can only imagine Steve’s confused, crooked smile as he asks, “W-Wait... What is it that you knew?”
“That they’re dating, dingus.” Robin answers.
“What?!? What do you mean that they’re dating, Robin?” Steve asks scoffing.
“I’m taking it that you didn't know...”
I grab ahold of Eddie’s hand and tug him after me as I try to silently walk back to the foyer and tip toe up the stairs but I see Steve round the corner, and stand there with his arms crossed. I swear he looks just like our dad that one night he caught me and Steve sneaking back into the house.
“Y/N get your ass down here right now! It’s too late, I already saw you.”
My shoulder’s slump in defeat and I’m practically pouting like a child as I walk back down the stairs, leaving Eddie on the steps.
I walk past Steve and into the living room as he stands, taking the stillness of a statue.
“You too Eddie.” He says in a stern voice.
I can see from the corner of my eye that he looks hesitant to do as Steve tells him but I just roll my eyes and motion with my head for him to follow me.
I do a once over at the little traitors in my living room and tilt my head so they know I was irritated with them.
 “So.” Steve starts.
“What Steve?” I ask, my tone harsh and short.
“Hey. Don’t take that tone up with me young lady.” His finger is pointing down at me like a father scolding his angsty teen. I hear Lucas and Mike try to hold in their laughs behind me, I bet this is funny too them, seeing an eighteen-year-old get a stern talking too by her nineteen-year-old brother.
“God Steve, you’re not dad, you’re barely a year older than me. You act I’m seeing some forty-year-old, it’s just Eddie.” I say scoffing, motioning my hand to Eddie at that last part.
“Just Eddie? You've been lying to my face, to mom’s, to dad’s for almost two months now. You stay out late; I hardly see you on the weekends anymore. Don’t you see what he's doing to you? At first, I didn't understand, fuck, I didn’t even notice but now it’s perfectly clear. He’s not good for you, Y/N.” Steve says, his voice raising. I could almost swear I heard a crack in his voice.
I see Robin get up from the corner of my eye, motioning for the rest of them to follow her, they exit the room, and go to the kitchen. Eddie stays but tries to make it look like he's picking at his clothes. I feel bad because obviously he's in an awkward position right now.
“You’ve got to be kidding me. This is why I lied to you, because I knew you’d react badly. I knew you didn’t like Eddie, still, even after all he's done for Dustin and during Vecna. I have a boyfriend, Steve. So what? Am I not allowed to spend time with him? Why is it that I have to be at arm's length at all times? The only thing Eddie has ever done for me was be there. I’ve changed, for the better. Weren't you the one always telling me I should get out more, interact with people, experience things?” My voice matches Steve’s, going up multiple octaves.
 “Why?” He asks.
“What do you mean?” I sound frustrated and it’s because I am.
“Why didn't you tell me? We tell each other everything, Y/N.” He’s rubbing his temples and I’m having a hard time deciphering what he’s making out of all of this.
“Steve... for one, I know you and Eddie had never been the best of friends, and I didn’t want you to worry. You’ve been through so much.” I tell him, grabbing at his hand.
Steve pulls me into a sudden hug, “Y/N, you’re my sister. My baby sister. I’m always gonna worry about you. You’re right, me and Eddie tolerate each other, but I don't hate him. All I want is for you to be safe and happy, you’ve been through so much too. If Eddie’s making you happy then I can deal.” He says into my hair.
I sniffle and blink away tears, “He does make me happy, Steve.”
Me and Steve jolt up when we hear a deep voice clear his throat, “Eddie.” Steve says, his voice and manner returning to normal.
“Ha. Steve...” Eddie says cautiously, a nervous smile on his face.
Steve reaches his hand out to Eddie and Eddie takes it, they pull closer together as Steve pats his back and says, “hurt my sister Munson, and it’ll be the last things you do.”
“Steve.” I say laughing, shaking my head as Eddie walks over to me, “I wouldn't dream of it.”
We all start to walk over to the kitchen with everyone else.
“Oh, and by the way Steve, I’m not a baby, I’m eighteen.”
“Yeah? Well, you sure act like one.” Steve answers.
“Says the one getting all sappy back there.”
I feel Eddie’s hand slide off my shoulder and go to my lower back, resting right above my butt, he must have forgotten that my brother was behind us because he gets startled when Steve sternly says, “Hands, Munson.”
I laugh as Steve furrows his brows and Eddie laughs nervously once again when we enter the kitchen.

____________________________________
It never ceases to satiate Eddie fully even when he's fully sheathed inside of you. Maybe it's the way you look at him, eyes brimming with adoration even if they are half closed due to pleasure. Maybe it's the way you clutch the sheets beneath you, fists furling around the cotton threads, back arching off the mattress and the whine crawling it's way off your throat that makes Eddie feel like he's never, ever, going to get enough of you.
But you look so goddamn pretty with your knees spread open, chest heaving beneath Eddie. He loves you more when your knees are pressed up to your chest and your whispering out his name. It's a shared heat between the two of you--desperation too on Eddie's behalf because he's never had someone that's wanted him like this and he can't let it go.
He can't let you go.
Foreheads pressed together, Eddie swallows down the exhale you give. His lips ghosts over yours and you nearly beg him to kiss you. Thankfully you don't have to actually utter the words. Eddie's already pressing in close, sealing your lips with his and you feel so much relief when more of his weight settles into you.
His hips are relentless, the frame knocking into wall. But both of you know the house is empty. You'd made sure Steve would be busy at night and Eddie came over after finishing a session of Hellfire. But the entire day all you wanted was him. This all started when you agreed to tutor Eddie. You noticed him struggling to get notes down in class and when you approached Eddie about it, he scoffed at you. A Harrington not being a douche was impossible, Eddie had retorted.
That wasn't the reaction you'd been anticipating and in retaliation, all you did was shove your notes into Eddie's hands. I'll need them back Wednesday, you said. Wednesday turned into tutoring at the library on the weekends, usually Sunday nights. Sunday nights turned into showing up to gigs on Tuesday nights.
Which lead here. And you know, given how raw and dry your throat feels, you're going to have to find a good enough excuse for Steve where your voice has gone. He knows you wouldn't have gone to the basketball game. Sports were his thing. As much Steve had begged you to come, even promising two milkshakes and all the food your gut could handle, you still hadn't budged. But Steve did make sure to promise that he'd call if he went anywhere post the game just to see if you wanted to go and to make sure you were still okay.
Thought it was only a year between the two of you, Steve acted as if there were decades. Not that you faulted him. Steve would shit his pants if he could see you right now, whiny, and needy beneath the delicious snap of Eddie's hips, the tip of his cock brushing every nerve in your tight hole.
Yeah, Steve might be disappointed by this sight, but you don't give a single fuck as you pant into Eddie's ear, "Just-just like that. Please."
Eddie grunts in returns, lips brushing but not sealing around yours. "Such a needy whore, you know?"
"I know," you preen. The chain of his necklace hits your chest and you like the way it so delicately brushes the skin and hair of your chest. Eddie's grip on your hips is bruising but it feels so good. "Always will be for you," you huff out.
You want to say more, but the words die on your tongue as your orgasm comes barreling in hot. You feel it in your stomach, then spreading, your entire body growing warm and tense. You can feel your release on your stomach from your own cock. It sticks to Eddie's lower stomach too as he pushes in, clearly now focusing a bit more on his own impending release.
You trail your fingers into Eddie's hair, his entire weight fallen into you. "Come back to me, my love," you whisper, running a soothing hand over his arms and back after leaving his hair.
"Always," Eddie whispers in return, kissing at your shoulder.
You don't know when Steve got home last night. But you do know he is a bit of an early riser. It sucked, but Eddie knows it too. Even as he's threading his arms into the sleeves of his jacket, and he's grin is aimed at you, he's glancing at the clock. Just because you liked and accepted him, doesn't mean Eddie is ready to have to deal with your brother.
You hold out the banana to Eddie. He refused your attempts to fix him a really quick breakfast. "You can't leave without something," you whisper.
"I think I'll be okay," Eddie laughs. He steps in closer, hand taking the banana you hold out. "But thank you."
Eddie looks up from beneath his lashes at you, a sincere dripping of hope leaking from his eyes. You step in another step and press a kiss to his lips. "You're welcome."
"Whatever shall I do without you?"
"Starve." You then reach into the pocket of his jacket and pull out the hard case you know is there. "And continue around on this godforsaken earth blind. Glasses, now."
Eddie huffs, taking the case and slipping the metal frames onto his face. Your face clears up in his vision and he grins. "Happy now?"
"Morning."
The sound of Steve's voice makes both of you jump. Eddie sliding down from you. And you hurry to the fridge. You notice know it's clear he just woke up, maybe he didn't notice. "Morning," you return, hoping your voice doesn't betray you as you feel the shakes settling in. "Cereal?"
"Sure, sorry about that. Meant to go the grocery store yesterday before work but then got called in earlier," Steve mumbles, settling onto the bar stool.
"No sweat," you return, glancing over to Eddie. He's always sneaking as best as he can around the back of Steve.
He does, once he's behind Steve, blow you a kiss which you try to only give a small smile too.
"What are you--" Steve starts and then turns around on the chair. "See you 'round, Munson." He calls out just as the last of Eddie clears for the front door.
You freeze at the mention of Eddie's name. Fuck, fuck, fuck. You wait, hand pulling out the milk for Steve's reaction. He'd blow his top--surely. But the moment lingers...and lingers..and linger. Maybe Steve didn't notice really.
"Wait a second, Munson!? What is he doing here?" Steve pops out of the chair and rushes for the front door. He's shirtless only in his pajama bottoms but he stands on the front porch just as Eddie slips into the front door of the van.
"Munson! What the fuck?" Steve turns back to you. You started to rush forward to stop Steve, to tell him it's not what he thinks. "What the hell is on your neck?"
There it goes--any grounds to tell Steve a lie have vanished in just a sentence.
"Are those hickies?" The level of screech Steve manages to reach nearly deafens you.
Steve's surging forward before you can pull him back. Eddie's already pulling down the street, his tires squealing just a little. You finally catch up to Steve. The van's already at the end of block, rounding to head in the direction of the trailer park.
"You better stay out," Steve yells.
"God, please," you groan.
"How long have you been seeing him?" Steve asks.
That you won't want to answer. So you stay quiet.
"Are you two using protection?" Steve asks.
"It's not like either one of can get pregnant, Steve. Relax. But yes. Yes we are."
The realization pauses Steve. That wouldn't be a possibility. But still his heart thunders at the thought of his younger brother dating. Not that Steve hates Eddie. But it is you. It's the fact that Steve and you only have each other at the end of the day. It was important that he was looking out for you.
"The two of you are getting tested. Okay? Just to be safe."
Your eyes bug, the words stuttering and slamming into each other. "What-we're-I've only slept with Eddie," you huff. "What do you mean?"
"Don't care. I've been tested before. It's quick. Easy," Steve returns.
"I thought you were going to murder him four seconds ago."
"I mean, I could and would. Do I need to?" Steve asks. He's serious, you can tell by the furrow of his brow.
"No! No, Steve. I like him. He's a gentleman."
"Well, if he's such a gentleman, why was he sneaking out without at least talking to me, huh? Why hasn't he knocked on the door and asked if it's okay to date you? Not very gentlemanly of him," Steve huffs, arms folding over his chest.
"You just told him to get out! What crack are you on, Steve? I know you want to protect me, but I need you to pick a side. Either you hate Eddie or you want us to get tested and be safe and be a gentleman. Which one is it?"
Steve watches you carefully. The confusion has tugged and knitted your brows together. He gets it. It is confusing. Steve sights. At the end of the day it's better that you trust him. "Be a gentleman," Steve answers. "Next week. Invite him over for dinner. Proper introductions and shit."
You nod. "Will do. Can we go back inside now? To cereal?"
Steve nods, walking back up the driveway. When he closes the distance enough, he slings his arm over your shoulders. You push at his ribs. "You didn't do this shit with Nancy," you huff.
"I should've," he answers. "I really should've. So you've got to. Because it's the right thing to do."
"If you say so," you return, trying to think how Eddie's going to take the news that Steve wants to have a sit down dinner. You think he might laugh and then immediately follow it up with tears because he too will shit himself at the realization that neither one of the Harrington's were full assholes.

Ballistic
Part 2: Nightmares
Masterlist
You meet up with a certain metal head for pot
Cheerleader!Harrington!Reader
Warnings: None. It’s not really fluff you’re just buying weed lol. Flirty Eddie. Goofy Eddie. Eddie calls you sweetheart, Princess of Hawkins High, and dollface. Drug Use (Use Responsibly)
If Steve saw you right now he would go absolutely ballistic. You were sitting at Eddie “the freak” Munson’s designated “druggie bench” as your ‘friends’ called it, to buy pot. Usually you got your pot from Steve, and you didn’t know where he got it from but he was starting to get stingy with how much he was willing to hand over so you decided to use some babysitting money you’d saved up to get some, and other than Reefer Rick you’d only known Eddie as the other drug dealer in Hawkins, and since Rick was nearly impossible to find you had to go to Eddie.
When he’d come out of the bathroom to see you standing there he’d been dawned with his usual cocky smirk, seemingly after looking around to see if the basketball hounds had decided to follow you that day, thankfully they were too focused on Chrissy and the other cheerleaders to even notice you’d slipped away. He’d teased you of course, asking where your posse of meatheads was before his eyebrows shot up and his eyes widened his surprise when you asked him for weed. The surprise had melted quickly and had been replaced by that stupid smirk again before he’d told you to meet him by the picnic table in the woods behind the school.
Now, here you were, partially thinking Eddie wouldn’t show as you straightened your cheer top for what seemed like the hundredth time since you sat down five minutes ago. You flinched when you heard a twig snap behind you and spun around, looking off into the woods and squinting when you saw something scamper off, you were just about to wave it off as a squirrel when a loud thunk! sound came from in front of you, simultaneously you could’ve sworn you heard the chime of a clock.
“Jesus!” You spun around quickly, your reaction causing Eddie to jump back a bit in surprise, holding his hands up and chuckling. “Woah. Sorry, dollface.” He smirked and sat at the bench, leaning his elbows on the table. “Y/N Harrington. Buying weed from little ol’ me.” He put a hand against his chest as if he was honored. “And yet I thought your kind despised my kind.”
You rolled her eyes and shifted a little as you glanced back off into the woods, still feeling a little uneasy. Ever since what happened with the Demogorgon and Mind Flayer you’d been on edge, and with these headaches, nightmares, and random nosebleeds you were even worse. “And I thought your kind had the decency to not sneak up on a lady.” You snarked.
Eddie stared at you for a moment, like he was bewildered at the accusation, before throwing himself on the ground with a loud yelp, causing you to jump and huff. “What-“ “you’re totally right!” Eddie exclaimed before you could finish your sentence. You watched as he walked on his knees around the picnic table and grabbed your forearm, your eyes wide as your eyebrows shot up into your hairline. “How ungentlemanly of me! To sneak up on a lady of such high stature! Please! Princess Y/N of Hawkins’ High! Will you ever forgive me for such atrocious behavior?!” You blinked rapidly at Eddie’s outburst, huffing a small laugh as you shook your head.
“Oh my god.” You pulled your arm away and shoved his shoulder lightly, laughing as he thumped back against the forest floor. Eddie chuckled and stood up, dusting the crumbled leaves off of his pants before dropping on in front of you. “Seriously, though. I heard you get your stuff from your big bro.” He tilted his head a bit, his hair shifting slightly with the movement.
You shrugged a little. “Usually. But Steve’s getting greedy and he apparently has a problem with being in the same room smoking with me if he provided it? Or something. I don’t know. Some bullshit big brother thing.” You waved your hand a bit and leaned on your hand. Eddie hummed and copied the movement. “Oh, yeah. Totally. Bullshit big brother thing.” He mimicked in his own voice, only a pitch higher as he flicked his wrist just like you had. You couldn’t help but laugh a little, shaking your head and squinting at him a little. He was handsome, you’d never really noticed it before, too fixated on whatever he decided to rant about at lunch or disrupt a pep rally or class with, and if you had to admit it, what he said always made a little sense to you, and you have to admit his delivery is absolutely hilarious.
“You know… I thought you’d be mean and scary.” You laughed a little. “Or at least… different?” You tilted your head. “What do you mean?” Eddie snorted a little as he leaned back to examine you and really understand what you were about to say. Jesus Christ no one ever seemed that interested in what you had to say…
“I don’t know… you’re a lot goofier than I thought.” You laughed softly. “I mean your outbursts are always so… fueled.” You shrugged a little. “It’s nice to see you hyper about something that isn’t some bullshit article about a… pretty interesting sounding game.”
Eddie seemed to perk up a bit at the mention of Dungeons and Dragons and grinned as he leaned forward on his elbows again. “You think Dungeons and Dragons sounds interesting? You? Y/N Harrington?” Your cheeks went pink and you shrugged as you laughed softly. “I don’t know! Maybe not to play… but I’m sure it’s not as bad as the articles and “studies” make it seem. It’s just a fantasy game.”
Eddie hummed and grinned as he leaned back. “Well…” he popped open the lunchbox. “If you were trying to flatter me for a discount… it worked.” He leaned on his hand, fingertips resting on his lips. “I’ll do half an ounce for $15. I’m basically giving it to you, Princess. I’m robbing myself blind.” He smirked a little behind his hand.
You squinted a little and glanced at the lunchbox. “Mhm…. Why?” You asked curiously, more than prepared to give him the full amount even if you weren’t sure what it was.
“Well…. For one, flattery works with me.” Eddie grinned and shrugged. “And for two…” his eyes trailed over you slowly before his eyes found yours again, your breath hitching a bit. “You’re a very, very hard worker. What with your little outfits and your little routines.” The corner of his mouth twitched up. “You deserve a reward… and I’d like for you to come back.”
Was there a double entrendre there? Or are you insane? You’re probably insane. You’re definitely insane. There’s no way Eddie Munson was trying to come into you right now. He just wants your business. That’s all. “I have whatever it costs, Y’know. I’m not trying to-“
“And you aren’t. I am.” Eddie rolled his eyes a bit and dropped the bag in front of you. “Really. $15.” He flashed you that stupid smile of his and your fingers curled tightly around the money in your hand before you nodded and started to count out $15.
While you were counting it blood slipped from your nose and dropped onto your hand, sliding off your hand and finally onto the five in your hand. “Shit-” you brought your hand up to cover your nose.
“Woah.” Eddie’s eyes widened a bit and he got up, pulling the bandana out of his back pocket and sitting next to you, moving your hand and replacing it with the bandana. “You alright?” He frowned deeply as you nodded, giving him a grateful look as he cleaned up your nose, the sun hitting his legendary skull rings and pig ring at just the right angle that it shone into your face but not quite in your eye.
“Yeah. I’m fine. Just a… stress bleed I guess. Or the pollen or something.” You cleared your throat and extended the $15 to him, to which he slowly took, eyeing you like you would explode or something, letting you finish cleaning your hand and nose.
“Here…” he turned and grabbed a baggie from his pocket, it had about a handful of joints rolled neatly inside. “Calm your nerves before you have to go home to The Hair.” He smirked when he caught you smile behind his bandana, shaking your head as you laughed.
“Fine.” You looked back off into the woods again before looking at Eddie, watching as he lit the joint and took a few drags before passing it to you. You gently plucked the joint from his fingers, blushing a bit at the grin on his face as he leaned on his hand, his head turned to look at you.
You looked at him curiously as you took your own few hits from the joint, cheeks flushing the longer he looked at you. “What..?” You mumbled softly as you handed the joint back, sucking in some extra regular air to try and ease the burn of weed smoke in your lungs.
Eddie grinned and shrugged a little as he hit the joint, running his eyes over your pristine cheerleading uniform, thankfully saved from any blood by how fast you’d both managed to react to the nosebleed. His bandana was curled up in your hand now, forgotten since your nosebleed retreated as fast as it appeared. “Nothing… just a little surprised that you of all people are sitting here buying weed from me.” He hummed softly. “You’re always so… pristine, clean cut, straight arrowed and straight laced.” He handed the joint back, smoke cascading from his mouth as he spoke.
You laughed softly and nudged your white sneaker against his black jeans, shaking your head a little. “An image I have to keep up to remain on the team. Which I’m doing for my mother’s sake so she’ll leave me alone.” You rolled your eyes a bit as you flicked ashes off the joint, watching it burn for a second before bringing it to your lips and taking a hit.
Eddie’s face screwed up into a scowl before he smirked. “And what would Mommy Harrington say if she saw you right now?” He teased, straightening up and sticking his chest out as if he had breasts, flicking his hair over his shoulder as he gasped dramatically. “Y/N Harrington! You step away from that Satan boy right this instant!” He proclaimed in a voice you didn’t know a man could achieve without damaging his vocal chords.
You started laughing hysterically, dropping your head back as your feet kicked a little, for once actually laughing and enjoying yourself, completely unaware that Eddie was looking at you with a completely starstruck look on his face. “Oh my god she probably would.” You shook your head and rolled your eyes as you gave him the joint back, biting your lip. “For the record, I don’t think any of its true.. obviously.”
Eddie grinned widely. “Obviously.” He hummed, the two of you passed the joint until it was burning your fingers, and then he snuffed it out and put it in a container with a few others before putting it back in the black lunchbox and standing up. “Alright, Princess. You need to get to your castle before Stevie starts to worry.” He teased, grabbing the lunchbox and licking his lips slowly.
“Let me give you a ride home. Been a while I’m sure your friends are gone.” He tilted his head a bit, almost like he was hoping you’d say yes. And you almost considered saying no. Almost. It crossed your mind, what if Steve saw you getting out of van? Or getting into it? What if someone else saw and told Steve? Or worse, your parents?
With all this weighing in your mind you shifted and stood up. “Yeah. That’d be great.” You laughed softly and grabbed your bag, following him to his van. The ride was quiet, you looked down at the bandana in your hand, still spotted with your blood, you gripped it tighter and hoped he wouldn’t ask for it back so you could wash it… and talk to him again before you needed more weed.
You were safe for a while, nosebleed gone, no chiming, and no headache, until, of course, as you neared your house one started right in the middle of your forehead. You closed your eyes tightly and rubbed your forehead as you took a deep breath. When Eddie asked if you were okay you brushed it off, claiming you were fine and it was probably just allergies.
Eddie must’ve shared your concerns about being seen because rather than parking in front of your house he parked across the street and two doors down. “I’ll see you at school, Sweetheart.” His voice was soft, not something you expected, and it made you smile and your cheeks flush before you looked at him.
“See you at school…” you hesitated before leaning forward, pressing one hand against his shoulder as you laid a gentle kiss to his cheek. “Thanks, for smoking with me, and the discount… and the.. blood.. thing.” You laughed softly, and before he could respond, maybe ask for his bandana back, you were out of the van and running into the house as it started to sprinkle outside.

pairings: Billy Hargrove x Harrington!reader, Steve Harrington x sister!reader, Dustin Henderson x Harrington!reader, Max Mayfield x Harrington!reader etc.
warnings: a few curse words and the mentioning of physical violence.
feedbacks are always appreciated!
“Steve, wait!” you exclaimed, before taking your own nailed bat in your hands. “Kids, stay here, all right? And keep away from the windows!” you whispered, to which the kids nodded. With that, you sat down and waited for your brother to walk back in the Byers house.
You were ready to defend the kids with all the strength you possessed. You loved them with all your heart. However— seeing them look through the window while you weren't checking on them made you curse out loud “For fuck's sake, you guys!”.
“Shit! Did he see us?” Dustin questioned, to which you responded “Of course he did! Now let's get to the kitchen and stay behind me, all right? I will bat the shit out of this son of a gun”.
After a few seconds, the door exploded open and Billy burst inside. He started scanning his surroundings, and you tried to keep calm as his gaze fixed onto the kids. Suddenly, Lucas put himself in front of everyone, as to protect Max and everyone else; but how could he, when he didn't have anything to defend himself with? You mentally cursed for what seemed like the thousandth time in a couple of hours.
“Well, well, well... if it isn't Lucas Sinclair. What a surprise.” Billy said, moving towards us. Then, he addressed Max by saying “I thought I told you to stay away from him, Max —”.
“Billy, go away —” the girl interjected, clearly scared by her stepbrother, who angrily stated “You disobeyed me. And you know what happens when you disobey me— I break things”
Max shouted at Billy, as to try to stop him from doing the worst, and that's when I decided to step in. I dropped my bat to the ground, then walked towards him and punched him straight in the face, making him fall down.
“Don't you ever touch my children ever again.” I angrily said, bracing for the older boy's reaction “You get it, Hargrove?” he nodded, and wiped the blood of his nose. “If you take a step further, I will make your life a living hell, just like you did with Max's. I won't be as nice as I was before. Control your anger or you’ll have me to worry about.” I stated.
“Ooh, the brave y/n Harrington! You think you're so mighty, uh?” Billy said, in a scaringly joking manner “Just a few months ago, you were drooling over me just like every other girl! You think you were special? Guess what, you were not!”
“You're delusional Billy” I sighed, shaking my head “I may have liked you in the past, but not now. I have more important things to think about— and besides, you're a bad kisser”.
After I said that, he tried to punch me but I dodged him easily “Man, I'm a boxer. Don't you remember? To me, you're just a sissy who throws tantrums”. Billy tried to punch me, but to no avail, and I kicked him in the stomach.
“You're dead, Harrington!” he exclaimed, before he was taken by his shoulder by Steve, who responded “No. You are.”
That's when hell broke loose.
I couldn't separate the two, but as the two boys moved to the living room Max managed to fill up a syringe with morphine and plunged it into Billy's neck. He ripped the needle out of his neck, and stared at it in cofusion.
“... The hell is this?” he mumbled, before getting up and staggering towards Max. “You little shit—” he seethed “What did you do?? What did yo -- y -- o -- ” his words slurred as his knees visibly buckled, and he fell to the ground.
Even though Billy was obviously losing consciousness, it was clear that Max wasn't over yet.

You smiled softly, looking around the Hawkins Middle School gym. Will Byers had found himself someone to dance with, Max had pulled Lucas onto the dance floor, Mike and Eleven had also found themselves a place in the crowd. Then there was Dustin who was left looking around like a lost puppy.
You frowned at the sight, Watching as he got rejected by everyone he asked. You poured a last cup of punch, passing it off to a random kid you didn't know before looking over to Nancy, smiling as you watched both her and Jonathan joke around.
You looked around the room once again, eyes landing on Mike and Eleven. You smiled, waving at the young girl when you made eye contact. She smiled back waving before her attention went back to Mike. You continued looking around, remembering the first time you attended the snow ball. You were much like Dustin, left without a date, You even remember and cringe at the fact you had to awkwardly dance with Steve due to your parents not wanting you anywhere near boys.
"Yn"
"Hey"
"Hello"
"Yn"
The young boy sighed, staring at you zoned out, he pulled lightly at your dress, watching you jump. "Huh?" you questioned, looking down, relaxing, seeing Dustin holding a playful annoyed expression. "Sorry, Henderson." you pouted, going to pour him a cup. "No, I don't want a drink."
You stopped, tilting your head. "Then what would you like?"
He took a breath, looking over to where Jonathan and Nancy stood, then back to you. "To dance" he mumbled, looking down to the floor. "What?" you questioned, not hearing what he had said.
"Would you like to dance with me?" he asked, looking up to you with hopeful eyes. "I'd love to, Dustin." you smiled, taking his outstretched hand, following him to the dance floor.
You both began swaying back and forth. It was a peaceful quietness between you two for a few moments, before you spoke up. "Wanna hear something embarrassing?"
"What?" the young boy questioned, tilting his head. A small smile came to your face. "The first time I attended this. My parents made me dance with Steve. I was the loser dancing with her brother."
"You're lying," Dustin's eyes widened. "You're lying, That has to be a joke, It's a joke right?"
"I wish it was.' You pouted, chuckling softly as Dustin twirled himself around your arm. "Well now you're the cool cheerleader dancing with the loser middle schooler." he frowned, leaning into you. "Hey, Girls this age are dumb, But give them a few years, and they'll wise up." you smiled, looking down at him. "You'll have them pawning over you in no time."
"You really think so?" he asked, smiling widely. "I know so."
He smiled even wider if that was even possible, pulling you into a hug. You hugged back, rubbing his back, Looking over to your friends who were smiling just as wide. "You're the best dance date ever." Dustin mumbled, pulling away, taking your arm. "Now let's go take a photo."

Week one was the hardest week.
Hell, the first two days were the hardest if anything.  But week one almost broke you, almost made you cave in.  On the account of having to see Steve every day at home and Eddie every day at school (not to mention everyone else who also witnessed what happened also attending the same school) there was a constant feeling of eyes on you and it felt like drowning.  It was like being out in the middle of Lovers Lake, no boat, no floatation devices, the cold water you were used to every summer stinging instead of relieving the aches in your body.  The water filling your mouth, your lungs, and you stretched your arms as far up as possible as your hands grasped around the liquid.  You were suffocating.
The times you almost gave in to temptation were hard, and left not only you feeling down and out but leaving the boys confused and unsure.  You typically weren’t one to hold grudges, not one to let things continue to build and build, you always wanted things to be resolved in a timely manner.  You knew that that’s what Steve and Eddie would be anticipating.  They were waiting for your return to them and for everything to blow over oh so easy.  That wasn’t the case this time, it couldn’t be.  One night of promised compromise was destroyed as was the cake you had prepped so eagerly.  Not even the red velvet cake could solve all your issues.
Steve almost had you one night when he had knocked on your bedroom door and didn’t wait for an answer.
“Hey, kiddo,” he had said.
You couldn’t help but look at him and this is where he thought he had you.
“I wanted to really apologize for the other night at the party,” he said, you keeping your eyes locked despite how badly you wanted to look away.  “I shouldn’t have done the things I did.”
You blinked a few times in response, your mind raveling around the apology (and honestly a kinda shit one at that).  He didn’t say anything else and just watched you.  He gestured with his hands, a kind of ‘well?’, and raised an eyebrow.  You took a deep breath before leaning over to your bedside table and grabbing your Walkman off it.  When you began to slide the headphones on Steve did a double take.  No reaction?  No comment, from you?
“Y/n, come on.”
You raised an eyebrow at him, making a confused face and taping your headphones.  Steve crossed his arms and practically stomped his foot in frustration.  “You don’t even have a tape in it!”
Leaning back against your headboard, you tapped your foot despite being able to hear everything Steve continued to say.  His endless rant, many a throwing dramatically of the arms.  Yet you held your own and stared up at the ceiling in your own little world.  Ignoring your brother came second nature so even though you were faced with the situation at hand, it wasn’t so hard to look past him.  Eddie was a whole other store, however.
You’d beat him by grabbing out your bike and leaving earlier than planned for school.  Eddie was typically your ride and when he had shown up to you not at home to Steve telling him you had already left, he floored it.  In the same time you had locked your bike up on the racks, Eddie was peeling into the parking lot, the van looking as if it could tumble over at any second.  You quickly gathered your things and made a beeline for your locker as Eddie stumbled out of the van and shouted after you, which caused Dustin and Mike who were following behind to watch in interest.
“Ten bucks says she talks to him,” Mike said.
“Fifteen says she doesn’t,” Dustin replied.
The boys shook on it and followed in behind Eddie who had squeezed his way through any and every one to catch up to you.  Your locker door hid your face from view but that didn’t stop him from pulling it back further and grinning his cheese of a smile at you.  “Hey, sweetheart.”
In the same fashion as your brother, you looked to him and blinked a few times as your only response.  You never left eye contact as your muscle memory pulled out which notebooks and textbooks required for the first half of the day.  Dustin and Mike watched from a slight distance behind Eddie with eyes locked directly on your face.
“Listen,” Eddie started, leaning against the cold metal.  “I wanted to make up for the party, take you out tonight.  We can go to Benny’s, get your favorite, then I figured we could rent a movie and go back to mine.  Plus Wayne said you could stay the night if you want, since he’ll be working.”
The look you responded with almost sent him back.  Essentially the pure look of disbelief at what you assumed was supposed to be an apology but he left out the biggest piece: the fucking apology.  With another deep breath at his actions, you slammed your locker shut and brushed past him as the bell signaled first period.  Eddie stared after you, face confused and Mike groaned.  Dustin smiled brightly and nudged Mike on his shoulder.
“You owe me fifteen bucks!”

Week two came a little easier but still with its challenges.
Steve continued to barge his way into your room and talk about any and everything to grab your attention.  How insane the weekend rush had been at Family Video, how he had attempted to let Robin drive his car – which he might add they did not crash into anything or take out a pedestrian or cyclist – and it was the most terrifying moment in his early adult life, how your parents were going another weekend trip.  At the end of it, it truly wasn’t anything new or anything exciting to expect.  This was his attempt at getting back inside your head and his attempt to break your silence.
You’d never gone this long without talking even though most of your conversations were arguing and bickering.  Not having you tell him to shut up or acknowledging his existence was beginning to become something he wouldn’t be able to look past.  Nancy and Robin had started to notice as well.
When they had invited you for movie night and you showed up, Steve was there sitting on the couch with a Coke in hand and as if nothing had happened.  He smiled at you and waved shortly which prompted you to look at the others in disbelief and turn around, stomping out and slamming the door behind you.  Nancy rushed out behind you.  “Wait!  Where are you going?”
“Anywhere but here!” you snapped.
Nancy rushed down the walkway and grabbed your arm.  “This could be good, this could be fun!”
You whirled around sending Nancy back a step and glared.  “Fun?  Fun?!  Nancy, the bastard smiled at me!  Smiled!  After everything that happened with him and Eddie and I’m just supposed to turn a blind eye?”
She remained quiet, eyes sad and she crossed her arms softly.  You sighed.
“This isn’t against you, Nance… but I just can’t deal with either of them right now.  I wanted it to work out, they didn’t.  I deserve my space.”
Nancy nodded slowly, her eyes not leaving your face.  “If you need anything just call me, okay?  You’re not in this alone just because those two decided to be idiots.”
A twitch of smile crept on your lips and you nodded before walking down the rest of the way and making your retreat home.  When Nancy had returned inside without you, she pulled the “she wasn’t feeling well” card and everyone knew the real reason.  Steve leaned his head in his hand and sunk as far as he could into the couch.  Oh, how he could hope that Eddie was getting the same cold shoulder he was.
With that thought Eddie sat outside of the Harrington house, his own head resting in his hand.  No one had answered the door when he knocked (pounded) on the door and even calling before he left the trailer didn’t end in victory either.  He, too, like his comrade in this fiasco, could only hope Steve was getting the cold shoulder.  Eddie had actually stepped back and given you some time to breathe, four days was definitely enough, right?
Never ending were the notes in your locker, the flowers left at your windowsill, he even made the attempt to talk to your father which promptly ended with a door in his face and your father making yet another rant about “better boys” you could date.  The thought of your father giving you dating advice almost caused the bile from the other day to return.  Eddie even climbed up on the lunch table a week and half after you had stopped talking to him and yelled an apology in front of the entire student body.  Your heart clenched and hot tears brimmed your waterlines.  All eyes on you and the sudden twist in your stomach sent you swiftly making an exit and leaving Eddie with shoulders slumped in the middle of the lunchroom.  He was hoping that maybe it had just been too much, you weren’t typically one for huge public displays of affection.  When he ran through the doors and out into the hallway, expecting to see you waiting for him, you had already gone and made a beeline out the end of corridor exit.
Currently feeling equal to the idiot he felt like in the cafeteria, he stood up, rustling his pocket for his keys when he heard the familiar clank of metal off by the garage.  He glanced in the direction to spot you standing there, wiping your hands on your jeans.  Your eyes looked up as you began to head for the front door when you caught Eddie staring back at you.  Brown, doe eyes that would pierce your soul every time you looked, your own getting lost in them for days, searched your face and you mustered up everything in you.
Holding your breath, you rushed up the stairs with your house keys in hand as you tried to get the door unlocked quickly all the while Eddie was stumbling over his words.
“Honey, listen I just – I want to talk.  I know you’re upset an-and I know you’re not happy with me right now, not with Steve either, but th-that’s not the point.  The point is-“
“The point is, Eddie,” you breathed, looking to him.  “Neither of you realize how bad that was.  It was awful, not just for me, but everyone.”
Eddie’s breath caught.  At least you were talking to him.
“I can’t tell you how to fix it because, if I’m honest,” you frowned.  “I don’t know if I want it fixed.”
That was a punch in the gut.  His lip trembled ever so much and he shook his head.  “You don’t mean that.”
A click was heard from your lock and you pushed the door open, without so much of a glance back you muttered out.  “I do.”
The door closed behind you and Eddie grabbed up his hair in frustration.  Only one tactic left in the book.
 ●          ●          ●          ●
“I think it’s a great idea,” Robin shrugged.  “If you two could actually get along for two seconds.”
She yanked the VHS tapes from between the two bickering fools, not willing to have any fumbles with the store product come out of her paycheck.
“See?  Buckley supports it,” Eddie said, waving his hand towards her.
“I’m not involved in this.”
“Robin doesn’t even know what she’s talking about half of the time,” Steve quipped, causing her to turn back around quickly and purse her lips.  “Okay, I’m involved in this.”
“Well we have to do something,” Eddie said.  “You may get to never lose her cause she’s your sister, but if we don’t fix this, I don’t have ANY chance of winning her back.”
Robin nodded.  “And she’ll hate your guts forever.”
Steve turned his gaze to her, a slanted stare to his face.  “Seriously?”
Slapping her hands against the counter Robin looked Steve directly in his face.  “Seriously.  You both want to fix how she feels, right?”
“Right,” both boys responded.
“And you want to smooth things over so this doesn’t happen again, right?”
They gave each other a glance, looking each other up and down, before back to Robin.
“Yeah, sure.”
“I guess.”
“Perfect!  Then what can you do as a team to fix it?”
Radio silence.  Eddie and Steve looked between each other, waiting for the other to come up with something.  Robin stared at them both before raising her arms in the air and groaning loudly.  “Must I come up with everything!  Ugh, no wonder she doesn’t wanna talk to either of you!”
They both frowned at her before she continued.  “Look, dweebs, I know theres at least a brain cell per each of you.  Put them both together and think!  What did you mess up exactly at the party?”
A collective groan sounded from each boy.  The last thing either of them wanted to do was remember the party, how one thing led to another, and you crying and storming out of the Wheeler house.  The food Nancy had prepared was everywhere.  Soda had soaked into some of the living room carpet and caused the kitchen tile to become sticky with every step you took; you were washing Coke out of places you didn’t know Coke could go.  Mrs. Wheeler and Mr. Wheeler almost lost it when they had returned home to find everyone cleaning up the mess, to which elected them to declare no hangout sessions for a month at their home.
Steve could remember washing heaps of icing out of his hair, Eddie had pulled cake crumbs from his boxer briefs and –
“That’s it!” they both shouted.  With a quick glance to one another, the two boys rushed out the door.
Robin watched them nearly topple over each other and she sighed.  “You’re welcome!”
 ●          ●          ●          ●
“Behave for your brother, please.  And do find something to entertain yourself.  You’ve been… well, sad for the last few weeks.  It really dampens the mood.”
You pressed your lips into a thin smile and breathed heavily through your nostrils.  “Sure, mom.  Thanks.”
“Oh, and Steve was cooking I think in the kitchen,” your dad spoke up.  “Just make sure he doesn’t burn the place down.”
That was a new one for Steve, but happily another place to avoid him.
Your mother grabbed up your purse and your dad shuffled two bags out the front door and you watched them climb into the sedan, waving partially as they pulled out of the drive.  Watching them go, your smile faltered and you slammed the door shut behind you.  Another weekend stuck at home with your persistent and obnoxious brother, another weekend locked away in your room.
Finding solitude in being alone was beginning to become comfortable and you found enjoyment in reconnecting with the little things while still pushing out the thought of the two morons who ruined everything.  You’d already got a head start on the summer reading list for ISU, not entirely necessary, but found your time well taken up with finishing each book.  Rearranging your room brought a new look to your mundane every day and just like everything else, pushed every single thought into the back of your mind.  Things were normal, peaceful, things were quiet and –
“Y/n!”
You yelped at the loud rap against the bedroom door and felt every nerve ending light up like a Christmas tree.  Your face burned red and you groaned.  “Go away, Steve!”
The knocking against the door continued, no pauses, no hesitation.  A persistent strain of knocking that was soon giving you a headache.  Pulling your hair up, ready to knock your brother into a different dimension, you yelled as you approached the shaking white frame.
“Steven Harrington, if you don’t stop bashing your fists onto my door I swear to God I’ll-“
You stopped as soon as you had full view with the door open, not only Steve staring back at you but Eddie just an inch behind him.  Your chest tightened, panic setting in, before you cleared your throat and crossed your arms, a sign of defiance.  “What are you doing here?  And with my brother?  Don’t you hate each other?”
Eddie scratched the back of his head awkwardly, looking between you and Steve.  “Hate is a strong word.  Maybe, I dunno, strongly dislike on occasion.”
“Exactly,” Steve agreed, his arms crossed back in a mockingish way.  “Strongly dislike.”
Your eyebrows bunched together and you grimaced slightly.  “This is weird.  What did you do?”
The older boys glanced between each other and Eddie held his hand out.  “We can show you.”
Hesitating.  They could see it all over your face, your body language.  You were nervous and unwilling to trust them.  That wouldn’t stop Eddie.  He nudged Steve and your brother nodded, before offering his own hand.  “Please, sis.”
Sis.  Never in your eighteen years had Steve once called you anything but your name, or some word of insult during one of your regularly scheduled fights.  Despite how much you wanted to pull away, to ignore them still and continue on with no focus on either of them, you offered each one a hand.  The grins on their faces made your stomach flutter not only in nerves but in relief.  What could they have possibly done, together at that, to make up to you what they had done?  There’s no way they shared enough braincells to figure out something on their own.
Steve led you down the steps carefully, Eddie trailing behind you.  He had one hand in yours and the other was ghosting against your lower back as a guide.  He didn’t want to push you too far, but it was a sign he was ready, once more, to catch you if you fall.
“Alright, big guy, you know what to do.”
You raised an eyebrow at Steve before Eddie slipped his hands over your eyes and you squeezed your brothers hand hard in yours.  “What are you doing?”
“Just trust us,” Eddie murmured next to your ear, causing chills to race down your spine.
“We gotcha,” Steve added and grabbed your other free hand now, leading you along.
You could tell by the sound of your footsteps that you had changed from the plush of the living carpet to the cool sensation of tiled kitchen floors.  There were a mix of smells, ranging from sweet to burnt, and when you stepped in a puddle on the floor you gripped Steve’s hands hard.  You heard him let out a soft ‘ow’.  “Sorry, I’m just stepping in things I can’t see and it’s kinda freaking me out.”
“It’s fine, it’s all good,” Steve said.  “Are you ready?”
“Ready?” you said, but it came out more in a questioning tone.
“3, 2, 1,” Eddie counted down and you blinked softly at the light now drowning your line of sight.  You glanced around the kitchen, noticing the sink full of dishes, splatters of what you assumed was milk and water strewn on the counters, and a carton of eggs sitting half open with the cracked few that were used lying next to it.  Your eyes trailed the mess, another snippy comment ready to present, when your eyes landed on it.  In front of you was a three layer red velvet cake, with cream cheese icing.
Sprawled in hasty letters across the top wrote out “We’re Sorry”.  You couldn’t remove your gaze from the dessert in front of you and your cheeks began to burn.  The icing wasn’t as thick as yours, dripping down the sides and onto the plate and seeping onto the counter.  The layers were off centered and a chunk from the back of the cake was already gone with no doubt one of the two attempted a slice for good measure.
“We know it’s not as good as yours,” Steve started.
“Definitely not as good,” Eddie added.
“But,” Steve sighed.  “We really fucked up.  You’re probably still upset but we couldn’t think of what else to do, if I’m honest.”
You dragged a finger along the icing of the cake, both boys watching intently.
“Nancy gave us some instructions and we tried to make it as perfect as yours,” Eddie said.
“Which again, doesn’t even come close,” Steve responded.
“But we love you, Y/n,” Eddie chimed, coming around slightly to get a look at your expression.  “We love you, we’re idiots, and we’re so, so sorry, sweetheart.”
Steve nodded, coming around at your other side.  “Could you find it to forgive us?  And we’re going to work on our relationship.”
            “We are?”
A loud thump to Eddie’s head and he winced.  “Yeah, yeah, we are.  Promise, angel.”
Bringing the swipe of icing to your mouth, you sucked the contents off slowly.  Steve waited patiently, Eddie couldn’t stop watching the way your mouth worked.  Once you had finished trying the icing, you took a deep breath and a smile lit up your face.  “Definitely not as good as mine.  Want me to make you both one?”
They stared wide eye, their own smiles creeping up and you turned to face them, your arms now crossed in a sense of comfort as you could finally breathe again.
            “Apology accepted.”

I love this requests and I think it’s really unique, I tried my best bc I don’t know everything about Steve and stuff and I kinda left out the whole being apart of hellfire thing but I tried♥︎enjoy! - 🐭🎀
Tumblr media
“I’m just saying Y/n, I’ve heard some not so good things about him and his group-“
“Steve, for the love of god please stop believing rumors and judging a book by its cover. Gareth is a good guy, I promise.” I said as I placed the last plate down on the table as me and Steve were given the job to set up the table.
Tonight was a special night. Tonight Gareth is coming over for dinner to meet Steve and my parents for the first time.
When I had told them about me being with Gareth, they weren’t too happy about it due to all the things that have been said about him and hellfire. But tonight was the night to change that, to change their prospective on him.
“Y/n honey, I think Gareth is here, you wanna get the door?” Mom said from the kitchen, seeing him walk up to the front door of the quite large house.
I opened the front door and there stood Gareth, wearing black jeans, black converse, and a black blouse with a red tie. A bouquet of red roses in his hand.
“Hey sunshine” he said as he walked inside and kissed me on the cheek.
“Hey Gare, my mom is almost done with dinner, Steve and my dad I think are already in the dining room, you can just-“
“Well hello, you must be Gareth, I’m Y/n’s mom, nice to meet you” my mom said as she walked towards us and away from the kitchen.
“Very nice to meet you, um…these are for you, a gift” Gareth said as he offered my mom the bouquet of roses.
“My gosh, these are beautiful, thank you so much, these will look lovely on the coffee table in the living room” she said as she examined the beautiful flowers “go sit with Y/n and the boys in the dining room, dinner is almost done”
He nodded as he followed me into the dining room.
“You weren’t kidding when you said you had a big fucking house” Gareth said quietly, I gently nudged him as we continued to walk to the dining room.
“Ah, so you must be Gareth Emerson, heard much about you, nice to finally meet you” dad said as he offered Gareth a handshake which Gareth respectfully took.
“Very nice to meet you too Mr. Harrington” Gareth said, obviously very nervous.
Steve didn’t even say anything, he just took his seat at the table and took a sip of his drink.
We got situated at the table, my dad asking Gareth a few questions about himself.
“So, Emerson huh? I remember going to school with you’re mother, lovely girl back then, still work at the flapjack diner?” My dad asked.
“Yes sir, she recently got promoted to manager”
“Manager? Good for her, and your dad, I’m sorry about him and everything I do fairly re-“
“It’s okay Mr. Harrington, I’m honestly glad I don’t have any connection with him anymore, let’s just say it’s better this way.”
My dad nodded “I can respect that”
“Dinner is here, hope you like stuffed shells and meatballs Gareth” my mom said as she laid everything out in the middle of the table.
“Absolutely, smells amazing Mrs. Harrington” Gareth said with a sweet smile which mother returned.
“Well thank you, they are my grandmothers old homemade recipe”
We started to eat and still Steve didn’t say a word, not even eating all like that, just poking at his food.
“So please tell me Gareth, what do you have planned after high school?” My mom asked Gareth before taking a bite of her meatball.
“I’m still trying to figure things out but the main plan is trying to get big with the band I’m in and just supporting your beautiful daughter on whatever she chooses to do in life” he said, my dad gave a grin and my mom smiled sweetly, Steve still giving no reaction.
“You are in a band? What’s is it called? Do you guys do any shows?”
“Yes, we are called Corroded Coffin, I’m the drummer, we play at the hideout on Tuesday nights, usually only about 5 drunks show up but you gotta start somewhere, you know?”
“That’s really neat” mom said and smiled after taking a sip of her champagne.
“What’s wrong son? You barely touched your food” your dad said to Steve.
“Not really hungry” he mumbled but still loud enough for everyone to hear him.
“Nonsense Steve, you are always hungry, especially if it’s Nona’s homemade meatballs” mom said with a concerned look on her face.
“It’s just- he hangs out with that Munson guy, don’t want you’re sweet, innocent daughter becoming a freak herself, now would you?” Steve spat out, okay Steve but…was that really necessary?
“Steve!” I said, dropping my fork and shooting him a death glare.
“Munson? As in Eddie Munson?” My mom said with unexplainable face as she stared at Gareth.
“Isn’t he a cultist?” My dad asked, dear fucking god.
“I promise Eddie isn’t a cult leader nor a cult member, and I would never allow your daughter around something like that if it was, I promise on my life” Gareth said, panic in his eyes. He probably thinks his chances of a healthy relationship with my parents is already ruined due to my dumbass brother.
“Steve! Apologize” I said sternly.
“Why should I? He is gonna brai-“
“Steve listen to your sister and apologize to Gareth” my dad said as he pointed his fork at Steve.
“What? You know what, this is bullshit” Steve said as he stood up and jogged upstairs, obviously annoyed.
“Steve Harrington, you get back here right now!” My mom said.
“Just leave him, usually after a little while he will cool down” dad said, taking a sip of his drink.
“I’m sorry about that Gareth, Steve is just…protective over Y/n, I mean Y/n is Steve’s baby sister so-“
“Doesn’t mean he gets to do stuff like that. He can’t just lash out on anyone I come close to, it’s not fair mom” I said, cutting her off.
“I know honey, I know” she mumbled, us sitting in a couple seconds of silence before she decided to speak again “well I think we are done with dinner, let me grab you’re plates and clean up”
“Oh please let me help” Gareth said, standing up and helping her clean up the dishes.
“Oh that’s okay sweetheart, I can do it”
“No no, please, I insist” Gareth said as he carried some dishes into the kitchen, her following behind her.
“You should go talk Steve, see if he budges” dad said, I nodded and started to walk upstairs to Steve’s room.
I knock a few times and heard a faint ‘come in’ so I opened the door slowly and closed.
Steve sitting there on his bed, looking through a pop magazine.
“Hey” I said as I stood there.
“Hey” he mumbled back to me.
I slowly walked over and sat on the edge of his bed. A moment of silence consuming us.
“I’m sorry”
“What?”
“You heard me, I heard what you said to dad after I left, you’re right, I can’t say stuff like that or control you’re every move, it’s just…you’re my sister and it’s hard seeing you grow up and have a boyfriend and before you know it you will be getting married and just….I’m just sorry” he said, face planted on the magazine, not reading anything, eyes just sitting there, trying not to make eye contact with you.
“It’s okay Steve, just please…don’t do that again, like I said, Gareth is a good guy, he might not look like it at first but he is” I said, after that he finally looked up and made eye contact with me.
He didn’t say anything, he just moved closer to me and hugged me, of course I hugged back.
I get that this hard for Steve but he is just gonna have to live with the fact I’m gonna grow up and be in a relationship, I’m not always gonna be his baby or little sister, soon I’ll be just his sister, cause he is right. One day before I know it, I’ll get married and have little nuggets.
“Y/n honey, Gareth is about to leave, come say bye”
Me and Steve broke apart as mom called me down “it’s okay, go” Steve said.
I nodded and headed downstairs to see my mom hugging Gareth.
“Thank you Mrs. Harrington, the food was delicious” Gareth said as they broke apart, soft smile on his face.
“You are very welcome, and I’m sorry about Steve again”
“Don’t worry about it, I talked to him, he is okay now I guess” i said as I approached them.
Mom gave a grin and wiggled her eyebrows before walking away, very mature of you mom, very mature.
“So I’ll see you tomorrow? The boys and me are gonna be doing practice in the garage, you gonna be there sweets?” Gareth asked.
“You know it drummer boy” I said before leaning in and kissing him on the lips, not a long kiss but meaningful.
Other than Steve being a protective Jack ass, I think dinner was a success.

Tumblr media
Steve freezes, his right hand in the air, holding his Farrah Fawcett spray above his head. He frowns when he hears cursing, pretty confident he knows that voice.
“Dustin, shut up. Steve’s going to hear you.” He definitely knows the owner of that voice.
Figuring the two teenagers aren’t going anywhere, he finishes applying the spray to his hair before deciding to investigate what his troublemaking sister and her best friend are up to now.
He finds the two of them, arguing in the living room of his parent’s home. The last time the two of them were like this, Y/n ended up giving another kid a black eye and busted lip.
“What are you two shitheads up to?”
“Nothing.” They both exclaim; Dustin’s voice cracking.
Steve folds his arms over his chest, feeling a headache forming. “You’re not going to do whatever the hell it is you’re planning on doing.”
“It’s nothing bad, Steve.” Y/n attempts to assure her brother.
“Does it involve you fighting?”
That has the girl snapping her mouth close. How does her brother know her so well?
The two teenagers squirm under the older teenager’s glare as silence fills the room.
Dustin is the first one to break the silence. “It’s Dylan.”
“Dustin!”
Steve’s eyes widened, surprised his sister would even think about fighting said bully again. “No, no, no; this is not going to happen and that’s final. You are not fighting Dylan again. I don’t care how much of a bully he is; we are done with fighting people. We only fight against  the freaky shit. Do I make myself clear? No fucking fighting.”
Y/n internally smiles. They have her brother right where they want him to be. She leans over to her best friend, her eyes glued to her very annoyed brother. “Holy shit, I see it now.” She whispers.
“I told you.” Dustin whispers back.
“What are you two mumbling?” Steve gestures at them. “Are you even listening to me?”
The hands on the hips is what causes the two younger teenagers to burst out laughing.
Steve rolls his eyes up to the ceiling, fighting the urge to not strangle his sister and friend.
“Oh yeah-” Y/n struggles to get her words out between her giggles. “Definitely a mom.”
“Henderson!” Steve admonishes. If these dickheads don’t stop calling him a mom, he’s going to end up murdering one of them.
“I feel a lecture coming on.” Y/n sings.
And apparently it’s going to be his sister. “That’s it! Your ass is grass, you little brat.” Steve exclaims as he charges at her.
The teenager doesn’t hesitate to run, knowing her brother is dead serious at this moment. “Dustin, tell the rest of the party we have the go ahead!” She shouts over her shoulder as she heads for the door.
Dustin barely gets the walkie talkie up to his mouth before Steve stops him in tracks. “Dustin, I swear to god if you even mutter a word, I’m going to tell your mom about what really happened to Mews.”
Y/n glares at her best friend when he lowers his arm to his side. “Coward!” She yells before yanking the door open and taking off. She has no idea where she’s going; all she knows is she better get as far away from her brother as she can.
“Y/n, get your ass back here!”
Dustin just stands in the doorway of the Harrington residence, watching as Y/n runs towards the street with Steve hot on her heels. Since both siblings have been in sports since they could walk, Dustin doesn’t know who will last the longest. He hopes it’s Y/n.
He waits until he can barely see the siblings before bringing the walkie talkie up to his lips. “Plan is right on track. Over.”
“Steve’s out of the house? Over.” Max immediately questions.
“Yep. It’s really not that hard to rile him up. All we had to do was mention putting our lives in danger and he’s ready to lock us up in a room and throw away the key. Over.”
“You owe me a dollar, Mike. Over.” Max announces smugly. She told them the easiest part about this plan was to get Steve out of the house; Mike disagreed.
“Yeah, whatever Mayfield. The rest of us will be there in five. You have the supplies, right Dustin? Over.”
“Affirmative. Y/n and I were able to sneak them in while Steve was fixing his hair. Over.”
“Alright. See you in five. Over and out.”
Dustin sets the walkie talkie down, heading to Y/n’s room where they hid the supplies.
Y/n glances over her shoulder, eyes widening when she sees that her brother is almost within arm’s reach of her. “Shit.” She mutters as she pumps her arms harder. He can’t catch her just yet. The party needs more time.
Her slight panic melts away when she sees a gas station in front of her. She just has to make it to the girl’s bathroom and that will buy her time.
“Gotcha!” Steve shouts as he tackles her to the ground.
“Shit!” Y/n yelps as they land harshly on the grass. “Steve, get off of me.” She struggles to fight her brother but she has no chance when he grabs her wrists, straddling her torso.
She attempts to push him off but he doesn’t even budge.
Steve smiles down at his sister in victory. “Now, what do you have to say for yourself?”
Y/n glares up at him, ignoring his question. “Get off of me!”
“Not going to happen, brat. You’re going to tell me what you and Henderson are really up to. I know it has nothing to do with fighting Dylan.”
Y/n stops struggling when the bully’s name is mentioned. “What? How?”
“Dustin is a terrible liar.”
Y/n sighs, her body relaxing, knowing she’s been defeated. “I knew I should’ve brought Max with me.” She huffs a short laugh. “He really does suck at it.”
Steve can’t help but see the humor in the situation, releasing a chuckle of his own. “Yeah, Mayfield would have been a much better choice.”
Y/n swallows, licking her dry lips. “So, can we forget this whole thing and go home?”
Steve raises an eyebrow at the audacity of his sister. “Not a chance.” He growls as his free hand attacks under her right armpit.
“Nooo, Steevvee! Sttoo-ah!” Y/n attempts to get away from the onslaught to her side but she has nowhere to go. “I’m sorrryyy! STTEEVVEE!”
Steve laughs as his sister wiggles and thrashes; trying her hardest to get away from his fingers. He keeps it up for another minute before stopping and releasing her wrists.
Y/n is breathing hard and small giggles escape through gasps of air as she tries to fill her lungs with oxygen. She hopes this means they’re even and her brother won’t bring it up again.
Steve smiles fondly down at his sister before standing to his feet. He offers her a hand, pulling her up when she accepts it.
The two siblings walk in silence for a couple of minutes before Steve can’t hold back his curiosity anymore. “What are you really planning, Y/n?”
The young teenager sighs, her hopes at him dropping it gone. “I can’t tell you.”
“Y/n, I’m not taking no for an answer. Tell me what’s going on.” He pauses, fearing the answer to his next question. “Does it have anything to do with the thing we’re not supposed to talk about?”
“No!” She quickly answers. “No, it has nothing to do with the Upside Down.” She reassures him quietly.
Steve relaxes at her answer, but he can’t help but question a little further. “So I don’t need to get the Chief involved?”
Y/n snorts. “The Chief knows.” She snaps her mouth closed, wishing she could take back her words; especially when she turns to look at her brother and sees his expression.
Steve can’t help but be hurt by his sister’s words. He thought she could trust him with anything. Why would she rather involve Chief Hopper than her own brother? “Oh.” Is all he’s able to get out.
“Steve, it’s not what you think. I promise you will find out when it’s time for you to know.” She wraps her arms around his torso. “Just please come back home with me and I promise it will all make sense.”
Even though he is hurt, he still trusts his sister. He returns the hug and agrees to go back to their parent’s house with her.
His suspicions start to rise when he sees not only the rest of the kids’ bikes but Hopper’s truck and Mrs. Buyer’s car as well. He turns to question his sister but she’s focused on one of the windows. “What are you- Hey!” He protests when she yanks on his arm, causing him to bend down.
Y/n shushes him as she covers his eyes. She guides him the rest of the way to the front door before pausing. “I do love you, Steve. I trust you more than anyone else in this world and hope I never make you doubt that again.”
Before he can respond, Y/n opens the door and shoves him inside, removing her hand away from his eyes.
“Surprise!”
Steve stares in awe as he sees not only the party, but Hopper, Joyce, Jonathan, and Nancy as well.
He turns to his sister, questioning her motives.
Y/n smiles up at her big brother, grateful that the plan actually worked. “Happy Birthday, Steve.”
