“The Irish government is offering a €325 weekly basic income trial for artists which will last for three years. As part of the trial 2,000 artists will be randomly selected from all of the applicants. The government definition of artists is broad and covers any creative or interpretative expression, including: visual arts, theatre, literature, music, dance, opera, film, circus and architecture.
The trial hopes to minimise the loss of skill and experience from the arts sector whilst also recognising the value that artists contributes to society. In addition, the trial is aiming to prove that a basic income enables artists to focus on projects without their projects being impacted from the stress of needing to look for work in other sectors to sustain them. Artists who receive the payment are also free to obtain additional work if they please without affecting the payment, however the payment is taxed so additional work may change their tax rate...
The policy was announced by Ireland’s Minster for the Arts Catherine Martin who is a member of Ireland’s Green Party. The Green party are one of three parties in a coalition government in Ireland. When launching the policy Martin said,
“I believe that this scheme is the start of a fundamental change in the way Ireland supports and recognises her artists and arts community.”
Martin went on to say,
“This pilot scheme represents a groundbreaking opportunity for us to explore how the role of the artist in Irish society can be protected and nurtured so we can continue to be inspired by great art for generations to come.”” -via The Good News Hub, 4/30/22

I know there are Gallup polls and CNN and Fox whatever. But Tumblr has a very different demographic.
Also I didn't specify democrats or republicans for a reason. I'm curious as to whether voters on both sides are becoming unsatisfied with third parties. So after the poll can you say which side you lean on in the notes?

Labour are on track to win a landslide victory,
you can vote green and know you aren’t enabling a Tory back door victory, I myself am planning to vote snp as a voter in Scotland
the tories will have been in power for 14 years next month their time in power is done everyone in Westminster knows it’s why the tories are in burn mode,
it’s going to be a starmer coronation so it’s important that it’s tempered by a left wing since he’s forced all the Labour left out

If you’re a Scottish Greens delegate at conference I’d strongly encourage voting to disaffiliate from the Green Party of England and Wales.

Instead of seeing it as "we have no choice but to vote blue" you SHOULD be seeing it as "we have no choice but to dismantle the current system that allows for someone like Trump to even BE an option." Thats going to require us to AT THE VERY LEAST vote third party. Otherwise, this "we gotta reduce harm/lesser of two evils" bullshit will never end and we'll keep having more atrocities being committed every single time NO MATTER WHICH SIDE of the duopoly is in office. Allowing this cycle to keep happening is what's dangerous.

More Democrats than Republicans open to third-party presidential candidate
Black voters (52%) say they're open to considering a third-party or independent presidential candidate in a Biden-Trump rematch.

Okay, so if we want a president who is pro-Palestine and who may (*potentially*, because capitalism) put an end to ethnic cleansing for profits, we can look to:
Cenk Uygur (D)
Jill Stein (I/Green)
Cornel West (I/People's)
Of course, we need to do more research on these candidates and their campaign promises, but if one of them show the most promise of defeating Biden and Trump, we are going to have to campaign hard for them.

And on that note, the green party is such a trash party.
I'm only registered green because of their current national ballot access. It seems like they've lost a lot of momentum. Less candidates run and less candidates get elected each year. And I feel that has to do with the level of professionalism that goes into the party. The website really needs an entire update on functionality and there are tons of typos and links that are messed up. A scene kid from myspace could make a better website. Under the 2024 candidates page (a page that isn't a list of candidates, but a feed of articles including some relating to candidates) there's a picture of a candidate where most of his face isn't even in the picture.
When it comes to candidates my biggest gripe is that many don't take the time to make a campaign website. In 2024, it's pretty much a requirement to at least have something come up in your name in a search engine. Second gripe is that many seem to think an ill fitting polo is formal wear and most don't even think that is a requirement. No one is going to elect someone who only wears tshirts and cargos.
I've wanted to get involved myself over a decade ago and was even asked by another candidate to run but now my focus is on women. Regardless of which party is picked I would still have to fight for female liberation under any of their platforms. I'm more invested in a push for ranked choice voting when it comes to elections.
(Third gripe, the green party is a total sausage fest)

The only people not voting Green in the next election that I want following me right now are children and non-Americans. Fucking go away if you think it's okay to vote Blue. This is literally the chance to destroy the 2 party system and stop Israel's genocide by voting and you're being compliant in genocide and the broken political system. Fucking get a grip. We actually do have the power to make it go widespread in a year that all pro-palestine advocates should vote green and that would either lead to several green states happening, a significant number of green votes which would still put all third parties on the map, or it would scare the fuck out of Genocide Joe who would have to scramble to call for a ceasefire if he wanted to not lose his whole voter base to a different party, one that would probably align better with their morals anyway. Fucking have some hope and make it go viral, tell everyone about it, or block me. Those are your options. Unless you'll vote green and spread the word for others to vote green, or you're unable to participate in American politics, I don't want you here.
I do not want you here.

"Politicians are wonderful ideas but what you need is change. You don't need some icon. You need someone that is going to make sure you can feed your family, educate your children, spend time with them." - Jasmine Sherman
Debate starts at 2:05:25
A good watch for most people who wanna know if 3rd parties know what they're talking about, watch them debate, or learn about other candidates!
