To be clear, this is not the answer that you would prefer to experience if you had to, this is just what you think is objectively the sexiest way for humanity to go out

Sunset with sunken electricity pylon (originally: Napnyugta elsüllyedt távezetékkel) 2024 Watercolour on paper
I miss Eidolon. It doesn't run on my current system, I believe. So this is not painted directly from actually looking at a scene in the game, though it was definitely inspired by the game and that's the place I imagined while painting it. Originally I intended to put lots of ruins in the water, but then I realised that for a very small composition like this that would be too much; I wanted it to have a big open sky and water.
This took so many tries to scan. There kept being a rubber crumb or a speck of dust in it, and the picture is so small that these showed up large and clear. I wiped the inside of the scanner clean so many times.

Population bottleneck.
A new study has found a terrible bottleneck in human ancestors about 900k years ago. There were as few as 1000 individuals left … if this is verified further there was a time when we almost didn't make it.

A species that fights one-half of itself with the most vicious spiritual, physical, and emotional cruelty, maims and wounds, humiliates and murders women's hearts and souls and bodies, is a species that is on its way to extinction, that deserves extinction. Species survive and evolve because they learn to unite against a common danger. We are in unutterable danger, and patriarchy has divided us to our great peril. We will die unless the world listens to women, takes us very, very seriously.

the human life will not thrive on mars, so the control over watersheds is essential and the great guide for the direction that civilization is about to go. That said, good night to the person who made this image.

"Blessed are the meek. For they shall inherit the earth."
Matthew 5:5
-
The meek can have the Earth. Look at the state the meek have left the Earth in. Everything is a disaster. Nature is being destroyed.  Everyone has some kind of condition. We can't breathe each other's air anymore. Humans have become a malignancy. "Civilization" has become a cancer. Our ideologies are illness.
But fear not - The Earth will eventually reset the balance. My eyes may not see it, but I feel a great satisfaction in knowing that the reckoning is coming. The only solution now is annihilation. Then things can start anew. Possibly without humans at all.
And so, for now, meek ones - the earth is yours. Enjoy your manifestation. Hails to those who find beauty in the cruelty of Mother Nature. The whole of humanity shall suffer all it deserves.

Nothing to make you lose hope on humanity like a discussion on climate change where one guy blames the sun, that has been dimming on average the past 30 years, and another guy blaming a 2021 valcanic eruption. Average valcanic activity hasn't changed in 100 years. Future generations, I'll deck an oil executive in the nose for you if I somehow get a chance. Sorry, your coast is under water, and what not.

But we stay (originally: De mi maradunk) 2023 Watercolour on paper
And as I said I would, here is now this pair of pictures about the destruction of humankind, this time together.
I really wanted to add a tree of heaven, but I couldn't find space for one in the composition. The idea would have been that these trees grow really-really fast, and even though in the first picture there isn't one, not even as a seedling - as they are considered weeds essentially, none would have been allowed to grow in this well-manicured street -, in the second picture there could have been a fully grown one, all the while the formerly-topiary plants only grew a little bit. I imagine the trees who are visible in the background are most likely trees of heaven for this reason.
