When multiple historians called out the 1619 Project's pervasive historical fraud, known compulsive liar, Nikole Hannah-Jones justified it as "reshaping public memory." That is, it isn't true, but it should be true, and people should believe and insist that it's true.

Dublin Pride has since added some text to their page to handwave the dishonesty. However, anyone using the site and its assets as a historical reference - and why wouldn't they, when it's the official site for Dublin Pride - will be reproducing the images they want them to have, not the ones that are factually accurate. So any news sites that source from their site will be, knowingly or not, perpetuating Dublin Pride's rewrite of their own history.

I’m a little obsessed with hsr’s mc so far cause she literally only has two modes:

It's time to fight back!

LGBTQ+ folks and allies, our rights are under attack. The ACLU, which tracks anti-LGBTQ+ legislation across the nation, has identified over 400 bills currently making their way through state Congresses and Senates. We must stand together against these horrific policies for the good of all queer people.

On March 31st, 2023, Queer Youth Assemble is planning protests across the nation to center youth voices and allow all queer people and allies to make their displeasure known.

Join us at marches in over 30 states (with more joining up every day!) as well as Washington DC. Turn up in large enough numbers so that legislators know that we will not stand for this.

March on Washington for Lesbian, Gay, and Bi Rights. April 25th, 1993

30 years ago on April 25th I was at this March with friends. Still mostly in the closet, one foot outside the door. I was active in ACT UP and volunteered for the local AIDS/HIV non profit, mostly visiting men in the end stages of AIDS or delivering items to those who were homebound. This event was pivital in many ways for me.

I was, for the first time, at a large multiregional political rally, as opposed to Pride (like Chicago or Iowa CIty). IT was attended by contigents from all states and other US held territories. There was a purpose. A list of precise and important civil rights were created and the rally was to bring those request into the sights of our current (new) Government, President Clinton and his administration.

This article has that list.

I looked around and saw so many lesbians. They were wearing lesbian pride shirts, holding signs that said "Lesbian" and there were hats with Labrys and buttons with funny sayings like "Woman by birth, Lesbian by Grace..If you see Grace, tell her I said 'Hello'" I loved the humor and courage and clear self respect these women had. I started to think coming out and living life as a lesbian would be ok.

Then something amazing happened. My group of friends ran into another group of friends from Iowa City. As the groups meshed together for hugs and excited conversation, a woman I recognized from the bar made solid eye contact, smiled in a way I had never experienced and said "hi Jen". I didn't know she knew who I was. She was on my mind the rest of the weekend and back at my hometown bar she asked me to play pool. We were together 7 years. She pulled me from the closet and I learned so much from that first love. We are friends to this day. I only remembered it was 30 years ago because she texted me "Happy Friendiversary".

I will seeh her at work today and I hope she bring cupcakes to celebrate. LOL That woman can cook.

omg you know when you inherit the family money but then suddenly its three years later and you've got nothing left, but someone invites you out anyway for a night of cards and bants and you're like, well, I was always good at baccarat, and you go to the fanciest flat you've ever seen and there's this guy from school who is like, the coolest guy ever, he is a professional sportsman, you've always been a fan. anyway you drink way too much and are having such a good time you forget about all your troubles until its time to get the chequebook out and then you remember oh fuck, I have nothing.

so you wander around hyde park catastrophising in the dark getting more and more desperate and then you decide to do it: go back to the scene of the crime in a complete tizz, and the guy, god he's so handsome, he's so cool, you become obsessed with the idea that you're going to end it all and make HIM witness it if he doesn't help you, even though you know he owes you absolutely nothing, surely this rich bastard can have some convivial spirit for the old school, the old ways?! and so you vomit your trauma over him and he is like lol, k? what's this got to do with me?

and you're FURIOUS so you decide you will do it right then and there, and instead of wiping the smug smile off his face he just looks excited, excited that you're going to blow your brains out, and it snaps you out of it because what the FUCK?! who the fuck is this guy?!

and then it turns out he's AJ Raffles, hero, cad, jewel thief, and he is your downfall, your hamartia, your fatal flaw, and this adventure that starts here and ends on the South African veldt is the greatest and worst thing that will ever happen to you.

Mike wheeler has to face the facts. Despite Vecna's curse killing victims in Hawkins one by one, he finds himself in California, Lenora, only to find a complex situation with Will. This day is one that will change everything....

A canon compliant fic that starts in season 4 of stranger things and follows both Mike and Will's prospectives from Lenora all the way to a destroyed, apocalyptic Hawkins after the four gates of those victims collided.

The story is split in two parts:

Part one: The best spring break ever

After the terrible shooting, and Will thinking everything was his fault, Mike tries to approach him, even try to get a word from him. But will doesn't talk- he won't talk. He's mad at himself for everything.

All changes when Mike spits out that one lie he never meant. A lie that stigmatized Will for ages.

Part two: This is the end(?)

A year later. There was an attack on Halloween - called the crawl- that forces both mike and will to come closer to each other after drifting away for a long while. The Hawkins crew now has to protect their hometown from demo creatures by completing night shifts out in the wild, specifically by checking areas that are abandoned and in a non-quarantined zone. Little did they know that in one of them affected Will in a way that can't be deceived. Little did they know that this shift would change everything not even four days later.

The finished story contains 29 chapters and about 120k words. Hope you enjoy <3

Sometimes I think that people make up a male and female character having a "sibling relationship" because deep down they have something against het ships. Like a male and female character can simply exist as friends, but because people really cannot comprehend the fact that friends exist, they immediately tag friends of the same gender as gay and male/female friends being siblings. It's this odd level of insecurity and forcing romance into everything that I just do not understand.
