Alrighty well since that post is fucked let me share one specific photo from my collection
Tumblr media
(Photo Description: a black and white photo of an African American man and woman embracing. The man has an armband with a feather tucked into it and is also wearing a rolled headband around his head with a flower tucked into it. They’re both smiling and the woman is leaning against his arm. In the background there is a storefront )
This photo was taken in June of 1984 at a Pride march in San Francisco. While you may not think of this as a protest photo, it absolutely is. And I think it’s beautiful for so many reasons. All of the information from here on out has not been verified and is based off of what I could find. For this reason some of it may not be accurate, please let me know if you know any more information about it. From what I can find the individuals in this photo were marching in the parade with a queer marching band called Sistah Boom. I’ve seen them referenced at mother and son though I can’t confirm that. I believe that it may have been taken by Joan E. Biren or JEB but that’s purely speculative at this point.
I hope you enjoy this moment in queer history

yeah a lot of things suck in my country's politics right now but yesterday's Pride march consisted of ~2% of the country's population so

"Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book has been rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street and building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And that process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right." -- George Orwell, "NIneteen Eighty-Four"
Unethical, dishonest and sinister.
When multiple historians called out the 1619 Project's pervasive historical fraud, known compulsive liar, Nikole Hannah-Jones justified it as "reshaping public memory." That is, it isn't true, but it should be true, and people should believe and insist that it's true.
Dublin Pride has since added some text to their page to handwave the dishonesty. However, anyone using the site and its assets as a historical reference - and why wouldn't they, when it's the official site for Dublin Pride - will be reproducing the images they want them to have, not the ones that are factually accurate. So any news sites that source from their site will be, knowingly or not, perpetuating Dublin Pride's rewrite of their own history.

Teachers with Pride Still Have to Hide
Gay schoolteachers wearing masks at parade, June 28, 1986
In this image, Seattle schoolteachers participating in the Gay Freedom Day parade through the Capitol Hill neighborhood hold a banner reading "Teachers with Pride Still Have to Hide," and wear masks to protest the discrimination they have felt. An estimated 10,000 people participated in the event, which is part of Seattle's annual Gay Pride Week.

Hello again, Tyria (NA)! Back again is lavender pride Malyck and his trans pride wolf. Only this year, I dyed more mounts!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think turnout was a little lower this year, at least on my end/map (idk what I set my model limit to last year), but that didn't mean it was any less of a party!

I actually didn't see too many cosplays on Day 1, either. Doesn't mean they weren't there, though.

Some other familiar faces I saw again included @ependadrawsguildwars2, @pulledrosepetals, @commanderyes, @commander-titania, and... whoa, Laranity!? And some devs!

I had a great time hanging out with my friends!

Unfortunately, because my chronic illness has decided it hates Tyria Pride specifically, I had to dip out before the end of the parade and missed the huge screenshot session with everyone in a big, nice group. Day 2 was better, though!

Happy Pride, my friends! We'll meet again, someday.
