It really is like the titanic!
Where the rich get all the attention and care and the poor die.

Omg how can you hate billionaires just because they live exalted lives of luxury on the broken backs of the poor?!
Sure their short sighted avarice is responsible for the destabilization of our climate. And yes they are responsible for untold atrocities committed in the name of ever expanding wealth.
And yeah, they would never shed a single tear for your or your loved ones. And they sacrifice scores of people with flicks of their pens and call it business.
And sure, our literal only chance of survival is to completely upend the status quo because our planet cannot sustain their way of life.
But omg how can you be glad that they died 🥺

Here's what I hate about capitalism. I always feel like I'm waiting for a miracle.
No matter what I do, I can't be satisfied with any job. Because I know no matter how hard I work, or how long I work. I could never make the money that rich folk make.
Constantly stuck in the same situation so many other people are stuck in. All of us doing work that drains us. And you know the real kicker?
My generation is waiting for a miracle too. We're all hoping that something we say or something we do gets us famous. Or alternatively that we win the lottery. Or perhaps by happenstance we somehow travel into an alternate world, that's easier than this one.
I don't want to live my life waiting for a miracle. I want to be happy; I want to be able to be with my friends. Without this crushing weight on my shoulders.
I want a world that'll live long past me.
I want to have a future for the generation ahead of me.
Yet with the way things have been going. I think our only solution is to create that miracle. But, to create a miracle requires an uprising. We're all human, we don't deserve to live on a burning planet. So scream out what you want. Say "fuck you" to corporations. Get angry at those in power, those who see you as worthless. Because the truth is the rich don't give a fuck about us.
We're all just numbers to them...

Genuinely sorry for the family left behind and the innocent crew on board, especially the young lad who apparently didn't even want to go. But let's be honest, half of them didn't get to where they are by being nice people. So if you can't see the funny side of this amazing meme (which is not originally mine) then I'm sorry for your lack of humour, must be a shocking first day on the internet. Seriously though, why wasn't as much effort and money put into saving the 100s of refugees from the Mediterranean as these 5 people.

A question I hear a lot is "why are so many losers defending billionaires online?" and I realized why.
It's not because they think that they will be given money or get noticed, it's because they want to maintain the narrative of capitalism as a pure meritocracy. Capitalist theory tells us that hard work and risk is what will make you rich, and an incongruence between what rich people should be and what they are breaks this. To admit that someone like Elon Musk is an idiot who only got rich off generational wealth is to admit that capitalism is inherently flawed. That's why rich people are placed on this pedestal of perfection where they can do no wrong.
They aren't defending the individuals; they are defending the ideal of capitalism they have been taught all their lives.

Wow, they're seriously making shoplifting a worse offence?
So you cry about whenever rich businesses lose some money, but you couldn't bat an eye whenever we the people are in poverty?
You're putting my mum through a process right now where she is losing alot of money AND you make her pay an income tax when she makes poverty level money.
We have to go to two government run places a week to be able to get food to survive.
I was caught shoplifting once and had to go to juvy, and now owe a fine of $240 dollars to my mother because you made her pay it to get me out of juvy.
And you're crying about big businesses losing money they're not even going to notice is gone in 2 days, just because they choose to take out their frustrations on other people?
Maybe those companies should shut their goddamn mouths and substitute the money with money they already fucking have than force us to make up for shoplifting. You're only villianising people who NEED to shoplift to survive by saying 'and it's because of these people that the prices on these items are rising to make up for the stolen stock'.

Can't stop thinking about the endless resources we had to look for 5 rich people who were mostly likely dead before we even started looking.
But no one would step up to rescue literally hundreds of refugees last week, who we knew for sure were alive at the time. Refugees that would've been super easy to save comparatively.
This is literally what's wrong with the world. 5 rich people who made a colossally bad decision just for funsies were deemed more newsworthy and rescue worthy, than the refugees fleeing war.
And this is just one example. They're also deemed more rescue worthy than the victims of natural disasters, history has demonstrated that pretty clearly, over and over again.
Whether it's bad investments or lawsuits or hurling themselves to the bottom of the fucking ocean, there is always money to rescue rich people from the consequences of their unchecked hedonism.
But never enough to feed or clothe or house or in any way care for the poor.
This is why I won't apologize for laughing at the rich people for dying.
Normally their shortsighted negligence only kills the rest of us. It's cathartic to see it go the other way.
