It’s really hard for me to really enjoy Bruce and Tim because whenever they’re going through something horrific my brain is like “They’re also billionaires who’ve had access to money their entire life” and then i hate them

I'm reading this article for work about high grocery prices and man, rich people live in a completely different world

This guy is an analyst for grocery chains and he definitely comes from a rich background, you can tell in all his writing, as well as his travels to Europe and shit

And he's been arguing that grocery prices have actually leveled off and it's just shopper's perceptions that they're high

And buddy, milk is $3-4 a gallon, one (1) steak is $20, ground beef (the cheapest meat) is like $6-7 a pound, and eggs are almost $3 (during the height of the pandemic they were $8)

Poor people may not care about the intricacies of corporate mergers and shareholders being bastards, but much like that other post, we know how much fast food should fucking cost, and we know we're still paying too much for groceries

This guy argues that grocery stores deserve profitable margins as well as any other business, but here's the part rich people don't understand

today i had a guy rant at me for thirty minutes because the warehouse didn't gift wrap his instacart order, which is not something we do or even imply we do, but he says we should have done it because PROFESSIONALISM and he's a FORMER ENTREPRENEUR and by this point the only thing stopping me from making jerk-off motions with my hands while i'm talking to him is the fact that i'm in office and i don't want a sup to see me do it. anyway he wanted me to. have a supervisor call the recipient of the gift order and personally apologize and promise to make it (the successful delivery of the instacart order except it wasn't gift wrapped because that is not a thing we do) right. the sup i got on the support line was like "we're not going to do that" which is the most blunt no i've ever gotten from a sup and it cracked me the fuck up

also he specifically told me to note on the ticket (i don't know why) that he WOULD have bought the more expensive twelve year old scotch but it was out of stock so he had to SETTLE for the six year old scotch. sir your perspective on what a problem is is so far removed from mine that you might as well be a fucking martian.
