Was one nice family dinner in the Wayne Family really possible? Jason was starting to think it wasn't. The evening started out so well, for once he did not have any sort of beef with Bruce for the moment. He got to spend time with Alfred preparing the dinner. Neither Demon Brat nor Pretender were at each other's throats because of a case yet and there was no argument about to happen with Dickie either and he didn't feel like avoiding Bruce. Did he mention he didn't feel like leaving the Manor at the first sight of his old man?

Everything felt like it was gearing up to be a nice and well deserved family dinner with all his siblings being in one space for once.

That was until a Lazarus Green portal opened and a fucking silver green tin can smack dab hit him square in the face. Causing him to fall backwards in his chair and hitting his head painfully on the floor. Why didn't they have carpet in the dinner room again? Oh right, someone -one of his siblings- got mud all over it after patrol and Alfred decided the dinner room didn't need it anymore.

Once the first shock of what had just happened passed. They got to inspect the tin can and found a letter inside it.

Gramps Clockwork spoilered that there is a mess up in the timeline because of the speedsters and I can fix it like this, which is why I am writing this. So I'm pulling most of this out of my ass, but-

I think such an underrated concept to explore is Padme's first few years as senator. Like, just the culture shock of that alone must be enormous, going from Naboo and being the highest voice of authority to suddenly being just one of thousands (or hundreds of thousands depending on what canon you choose).

The slow creeping realization that Palpatine didn't fix any of the problems he told her existed under Valorum. Seeing just how deep and pervasive it really is. Realizing that most of her peers are only there for their own gain, that their priorities are themselves and not the people they claim to serve. That building, burning fury at the injustice of that. That she seems to be one of the only people trying to fix anything. Anger strong enough she could rip someone apart with her teeth that her colleagues are actively trying to stop her from doing that.

And that deep, alienating realization that she is so so alone in caring about any of this.

A rb from earlier got me thinking. This won't makes sense probably.

Frequent skk foil moment is dazai and chuuya get BEAT UP a *lot* but does anyone notice how Dazai's recovery and like his bandages and all the things that are patching him up is *always* highlighted and not Chuuya's. In fact a lot of times when a bsd character is hurt, their healing whether by ability or medical care is shown.

But especially it's important in Dazai's case bc of his obvious bandages imagery symbolizing his pain and trauma but also bandages can be symbols of healing and protection and I think one of the most important parts of Dazai's character is recovery, more than trauma or suffering or anything else. And i don't think 'recovering' is as relevant to Chuuya's characterization as 'surviving' is why i dont think we ever got a scene like that for him.

Asagiri made great effort in putting Chuuya through unimaginable pain in stormbringer, and made a point of him enduring and enduring and getting up again and fighting. But (if im not forgetting anything) it left the only moment of him being genuinely taken care of and resting at the end of the book in Dazai's arms like. Ok Asagiri.
