23. What’s a trope, AU, or concept you’ve never written, but would like to?
Oh, now this is a tough one, because up until a few months ago that answer would be Reveal the Yearning Desert. Well, not the entire fic exactly, but it is an AU I've been thinking about for a while and touches on tropes/concepts I haven't written before that are near to my heart. To get what you asked about here, I may have to move away from Stranger Things.
It's not exactly an AU or a trop, but more of a setting. Shortly after I saw X-Men: Days of Future Past, I started nurturing this idea for a series of fics set in 70s New York City, based off the crazy stories one of my adopted uncles used to tell about his time there (he did college at Juliard and then stayed in the city until I think '74 when he followed his now husband to San Francisco).
(oh, this is getting long more details under the cut)
The general premise would be that after the existence of mutants were revealed to the general public with Magneto's live televised assassination attempt that clearly Andy Warhol would start collecting mutants the way he collected drag queens and talented artists. The stories would center mainly around Toad, Dazzler, and Quicksilver.
Dazzler would be a singer, modeled after Grace Jones (as apparently was originally intended). She would be the most civically minded of the characters, actually trying to fight crime on her off hours. I actually did write a short bit about her rescuing the real life Candy Darling from a mugging and getting her name from Candy and her friends.
Toad was primarily concerned with his own survival, but had picked up a camera Warhol had lost interest in while crashing at The Factory and developed a surprising knack for photography. Despite his artistic talents, he would be perpetually on the edge of homelessness. As with many artists, everyone loves and respects his work, but no one actually wants to give him money. Toad was also the story's lone straight character, frequently pining after girls who weren't interested in him.
Quicksilver was the latecomer to the group, not moving to New York until after the events of Days of Future Past. He gets expelled from highschool for being a mutant (officially, the school alleges he used his mutation to spy on the girl's locker room, which Quicksilver finds more hilarious than insulting because he's very, very gay). He generally gets by through a combination of never needing money and doing favors for people in exchange for a place to crash for a couple of hours. Dazzler and Toad both see him as a little brother they want to keep out of trouble, but he doesn't need much help from them.
Quicksilver is also comfortably out to his family (not Magneto, as they haven't spoken since the prison break, but his mom, step dad and sisters) and they're all fine with it. He visits home semi-regularly and when he's seeing someone the boyfriend is invited for the holidays. No homophobia in the Maximoff household.

Plot Wishlist
General:
Any X-characters, but especially Storm, Shadowkat, Cyclops, Iceman, Jean Grey, Abigail Brand, Havok, Dazzler, Colossus, Mr. Sinister, Charles Xavier, Magneto, Sabretooth, et al.
Verse specific plots below.
Feline Hank:
Decimation/Utopia-era plots, perhaps including a PTSD recovery arc for Hank after his torture at the hands of Norman Osborn. Poor guy was literally having flashbacks at the drop of a hat and the best he got was a 'you're the rock, so idk just cope better' speech - would love to dive into this.
Fun, shippy things! Hank is a loveable fella, but utterly bereft of actual self-esteem - tons of ego and bluster, but self-esteem? Wrong house, miss - and I love to see him reconcile the often inflated mental portrait he has of others with his diabolical self-image.
Mutant cure. Hank has a vial of it just sitting in a freezer. All it takes is one particularly bad day.
Post-Intervention Hank:
Anything with any X-character, diving into the period of time between All-New X-Men and Krakoa. Hank screwed up, majorly, and his emotional state is ridiculously fractious - engage with him on this! Force him to change! Or let's have blazing arguments! Let's do both, fuck it!
Inhuman + Kang interactions! Hank was only with them for a short period of time in the grand scheme of things, but I dearly love that he made friends during his time here, and it breaks my heart that he felt like he couldn't go back after Inhumans vs. X-Men.
Avengers:
Defenders interactions! Especially Isaac Christians (Gargoyle), Patsy Walker (Hellcat) and Heather Douglas (Moondragon). I love this team - they're such a weird, kooky team of misfists and emotionally damaged individuals.
Threnody. I'm tired of talking about her as the first brick in the wall for Hank's downfall - let's talk about her as a character, let's engage with the situation, let's call Hank out, let's let him off the hook, let's do something with it!
X-Force:
Any and all members of the Quiet Council, perhaps a thread making sense of Beast's numerous karma houdinis. My portrayal of X-Force Beast diverges from the cartoon character you've seen in Percy's books, but I still want to engage with the situations he must've found himself in and write them like an adult. Let's get political, let's get complicated, let's get cruel, why not?
Any and all interactions where an old friend asks Beast what the hell he's doing and what happened to him. I just want someone to care that Beast has hollowed out his soul and decided it's easier to not care.
Irredeemable Beast:
Pretty much anything, but the tone of this verse suits Fall of X-themed plots and character development over all else. I have an in-progress fic about this verse that I'm working on - I can't tell you how overjoyed I'd be to talk about it with someone. Let's talk redemption, let's talk punishment, let's talk justice, let's talk masochism, let's talk death wishes!
Dark Beast:
Any Age of Apocalypse characters.
A duplicate Hank, tbh!
The guy's a stinker, abuse him, please.
Battle of the Atom:
Any of the time displaced X-Men, future X-Men, or members of the Jean Grey and Charles Xavier School faculty. This version of Hank is so broken and so tragic and so pitiable. Let's engage with that. Let's talk about the future, let's talk about optimism, let's talk about broken faith and mind control and hatred.
President Blaire. If you know, you know.
And obviously, all of the X-characters mentioned above, or hell, any member of the extended X-family, would be much loved as an intersection with all of these plots!

Let Me Keep You Warm | Selfship Oneshot
Summary: It's a cold day in hell, literally! Dazzler's chilly. She's been bothering Alastor all day and now they're in his room in the hotel... Alastor decides he wants to finally address Dazzler's neediness and fluster her with cuddles.

A/N: UMM... I haven't written fanfic in 2 years according to google docs, and now here I am. 👉👈 I'm so in love with him guys help- also idk how fic tags work sorry I did my best!! Came up with this 'cause we had a snowstorm this past weekend and it was COOOOLLLDDD
“It’s too damn cold,” Dazzler mumbled, wriggling herself further under the comforter. Alastor’s ear twitched slightly, and he hummed quietly in acknowledgement. He lifted his gaze past his book, peering over and watching as Dazzler was thoroughly ruining his previously perfectly made bed by tugging up the blankets and propping up pillows into a soft cozy hill at the head of the bed. A chuckle escaped from his throat, and he lifted his coffee from the side table to his lips.
She wasn’t wrong. It was so damn cold. It surprised every sinner who got sent down here that there were seasons at all in hell, and most surprising of all winter. It was early spring, now, but the winter they had just had was harsh, and wasn’t going out without a fight. Alastor’s gaze drifted to the side, eyeing the crackling fire in the fireplace.
“You could come sit by the fire, you know,” he offered. He watched the round lump under his blankets shift and slowly wriggle to the edge of the bed, and Dazzler’s face emerge from them, hands up under her chin hidden to keep the comforter tightly tucked around her.
“Your bed is super cozy though.” The doe was stubborn today. She’d been clinging to Alastor all day, desperate for attention. Today was a day off for her, as it was for Alastor, and she had been following him around the hotel all day, complaining about the cold, getting in his way… He didn’t mind so much, today. In fact it was a little bit of an ego boost for him, to shrug her off and see her constantly coming back or doubling down on how she would gain his attention.
“Well, I do hope that my blankets will keep you warm,” Alastor returned, his gaze drifting back to his book, lifting a leg to cross it over the other. “Perhaps if your clothes actually covered you up, you wouldn’t be freezing so.” A snicker escaped when he made that remark, and he couldn’t help but look up at her to see her reaction.
She didn’t disappoint. Dazzler emerged dramatically from the blanket, pointing at Alastor with a playfully offended look on her face.
“Listen, it’s hard to stay cute and warm at the same time, and you gotta make sacrifices.” She sat upright on her knees, hands upon her hips, her eyes shutting as she turned her face away with a little ‘hmph.’ Alastor folded his book, a finger inserted to keep his page, as he set it down on his lap in favor of looking at his doe.
Again, she wasn’t wrong. She was cute. With her thin little pink shorts and her tight black shirt that hugged her frame nicely… Dazzler peeked at Alastor, only to find her cheeks growing warm as she realized he’d been staring at her. She lowered herself a bit, hands plopping back down onto the bed, and her ears dropping back in a show of embarrassment. A nervous smile graced her lips, and she began grabbing the blanket back up.
With a gentle smile of his own, Alastor grabbed up a bookmark from his side table, slipped it into the book, and set it down as he lifted himself from his armchair. He tucked his arms behind his back as he strode to the bed, watching Dazzler as she started to bury back into the bed, pulling the blankets back up around herself. She didn’t even notice that Alastor was approaching her. She was nuzzling into the pillows, eyes shut gently as she caught Alastor’s scent on them, and eventually she settled to lay herself down comfortably. Her eyes snapped open when she felt the bed shift beneath her, and she peered past the pillows to find Alastor crawling up to her.
She jumped, and couldn’t help but let out a little surprised yelp. Alastor was so quiet, all the time, and delighted in sneaking up on her.
“Fuck- whyyyy do you do that!” She squealed, reaching out to slap at him, which only caused Alastor to chuckle.
“Let me in under there,” he said, reaching out to grab the blanket. She quickly tugged it out of his grasp, grabbing as much of it as she could to wrap even tighter around herself.
“No, you scared me, go away.” Her voice was cheeky, and her lips were curled into a grin. It only served to make Alastor’s own smirk grow even wider. His teeth were beginning to show as he smiled down at her, and he barely had to make any effort to wrest the blanket from her grasp.
“Don’t be coy with me, darling…” Alastor moved in closer, lifting the blanket to allow himself under it. “You’ve been quite needy today, little doe, following me around and prodding me at every chance.” He let the blanket fall over him, as he crawled in closer to her. Dazzler froze, staring up at Alastor with a mix of excited anticipation and shy apprehension.
“N…nuh uh,” was her pitiful little response. She was stunned into silence when Alastor, instead of laying beside her, crawled up over her on his hands and knees. “Whoa, uh..!” She couldn’t find words, but needed to exclaim something to cut her shyness. The blanket draped over the both of them, and her now free hands were nervously placed on her chest as she stared up at him.
“Look at you, a regular deer in the headlights!” Alastor declared with a chuckle. “You’re so bold when we’re out there, but not so much when we’re in here, hm?”
“Sh-shut up,” she retorted quickly, turning her head away to avert her gaze. The radio demon snickered. He adored the sense of dominance he had over her. He wasn’t sure if this was a sexual moment for him, or if it was arousing for her, but he just wanted to revel in the feeling. He lifted a hand to stroke down the side of her face, fingers trailing along her pudgy jawline. It made her quiver in a way that delighted him.
“Let me keep you warm, my dear.” His voice was soft, smooth and level. Slowly he lowered himself to rest on top of her, resting his cheek upon her chest. She instinctively lifted her hands to allow him to do so, one resting on his head, and the other nervously grabbing the sheets below.
Alastor’s arms caressed her gently, as he melted against her, his eyes slipping shut. Dazzler watched as Alastor’s ears fell back, his expression softening into such a content look. He could hear her heartbeat picking up, and felt her legs shuffling together nervously.
“Anxious?” Alastor inquired with a chuckle. Dazzler’s fingers felt through Alastor’s hair, offering gentle scratches on his head, as she let out a nervous laugh.
“Uh… yeah, sorry, I’m feeling shy all of a sudden…” She sounded so sheepish. “I’m still never prepared for you doin’ this shit.”
“I like to be a man of many surprises.”
Dazzler’s heart was pounding now, her thoughts a mess. He was too much for her, sometimes, and at heart she was a bashful mess. And she could tell he loved flustering her.
A part of her adored that he did.
“Um… you’re cute,” she said slowly, her finger and thumb trailing along the length of his ear. Now she was making him quiver. He nudged his nose against the soft skin of her chest, letting out a contented hum.
“Why, I could say the same to you,” he murmured, arms tightening around her. She let out a little laugh, settling back against the bed more comfortably now, letting her body release all its tension. Alastor’s eye opened slightly, to peer up at her. His smile grew more into a more genuine one, as he observed how happy she looked. Her eyes were slipping shut, as she continued to stroke his ear, her other hand feeling up along his side now. He allowed his own eyes to fall shut again, and he let out a soft, comfortable sigh, as they finally settled fully into a warm and loving embrace.

Shared voice actors between Resident Evil and X-Men: The Animated Series.
So, something I used to do ages ago was look up voice actors for my favorite games or animated shows to see who else they voiced. Mostly just out of curiosity and also to look smart in front of my friends.
Anyway, something I noticed back then was some of the OG Resident Evil voice actors also were a part of the X-Men: The Animated Series cast.

Not gonna lie guys... I still get teary-eyed whenever I see a picture of Paul. He seemed like such a sweetheart and he left us way too soon. In fact, while doing research for this I found out that he and I share a birthday. And uh yeah... I fucking cried.

The F@tT Fic Marathon: 41-60
*says he'll be back at the end of the week because the beginning is very busy. reads a full 20 anyway* WELL. anyways, I have proven to myself that the fake-dating trope just does not work for me.
other fun details: all of these fics, with the exception of a cross-season ficlet anthology are set in Hieron, likely because i'm in the early 2017 fics, and winter in hieron was in full swing at this point
moth to the flame/pray for guidance by confidencealive (dazzler) - short, but I really enjoyed the comparison this fic drew between Ephrim and Hadrian both struggling with faith. and also naming it after their moves
Fall on Your Knees by Hierodule - the summary sells this as a fic about Hella and Hadrian's friendship, but imo it's just as much if not more about Rosana. or is at least half about Rosana and her frustrations and resilience as a wife left behind, and also she and Emmanuel bond. i liked it!
Always So Loud by SHAYCH___xxvii - the last smut I recommended because it was extremely funny. I am recommending this on pure pornographic value. hella is sexy. goodbye.

okay SO. i have been thinking ab this a little bit, bc i would like to expand the spidey au universe to other heroes. BUT im not gonna talk ab what im gonna do with the spidey au (spoilers lads <3). instead im gonna talk ab vibes. who do i think these people could be hypothetically! there's like one spoiler in here but otherwise none of this has anything to do with the canon for my spidey-spencer-verse.
also i wanna say before i get into this - DISCLAIMER: idk jack shit ab comics and i don't keep up with mcu anymore so. we're flying blind baby! i am making shit up as i go!
amanda: @blandview and i talked ab this and i think we came to a few conclusions: either she'd be black widow yelena OR she'd be an anti-hero of some kind. think elektra, think black cat... yeah she's got options.
angela: okay blandview also suggested this one: kate bishop hawkeye. we are taking no criticisms at this time.
anthony: god...... i could go so many directions but my heart longs to make him a villain/anti-hero. he's so morally gray-coded imo. magneto perhaps. other options are loki and wolverine.
arasha: there's so many options here too but i kind of like miss america for her i think!!
chanse: i mean he's miles morales. spencer is peter parker and he is miles morales end of sentence. BUT if i had to pick a non-spidey option, probably wiccan. i wanna give him magic powers so sue me!! oh or maybe iron lad. those are my faves for him

Okay, you all know I’m a sucker for a good crossover, so fic rec! Its only two chapters so far, but its already giving me everything I want out of a DC/Marvel comic book crossover.

Basically the premise is the catalyst character from the original Marvel vs DC crossover event, Axel Asher aka Access, arrives in Gotham and leads to the Batfam winding up dropped into the Marvel comic book universe. They’re separated during the journey between universes and end up scattered across the Marvel Earth.
Bruce winds up in the current Avengers headquarter, where he’s faced with a lineup led by Sam Wilson-as-Captain America, Iron Man, Carol Danvers, She-Hulk, Namor and Sersi.
Dick winds up in New York with Peter Parker, who takes him to see the Fantastic Four.
Jason winds up with a line-up of the Midnight Sons (the horror/supernatural team-up squad, for those not familiar), including Dr. Strange, Blade, Elsa Bloodstone, Ghost Rider and Moon Knight (as well as possibly the Punisher and Wong. There’s two members of the team in Jason’s scene where I’m not one hundred percent sure who they’re meant to be but I’m assuming they’re Frank and Wong, even if Frank’s not usually a member of that team).
Babs (as Oracle) winds up on a SHIELD Helicarrier and immediately gets to hacking.
Cass winds up in Hell’s Kitchen, spotted by Daredevil and Elektra.
Stephanie winds up with the Runaways, who immediately bond over supervillain parents.
Tim winds up with the Young Avengers, namely Kate, Billy, Teddy, Loki, America Chavez and Cassie Lang.
Duke winds up on Krakoa, meeting Dazzler, Logan, Quentin, Domino, Sage and Black Tom.
And Damian winds up with the Champions, specifically Kamala, Miles, Sam, Viz and Riri.
So far its definitely got my attention, just via the choices for what character winds up where and the logic basis for each grouping, as well as the choice of character lineups. Any time you pick Sam as the leader of that kind of Avengers line-up, you have my attention, and so far I’m loving the author’s depictions of Cass and Duke, whose inclusion tends to be a make-it-or-break-it aspect of fics for me. If they’re just there to be window dressing I’m like meh, but so far this writer is giving every included character an equivalent amount of respect and appreciation, so I’m like yesssssss good.
Also, this bit alone should sell a fair number of people on the Bruce and Dick dynamic for this fic:
She-Hulk tosses her hair and puts on a bright smile. “Looks like I get to give the good news. The Fantastic Four have encountered someone in a similar predicament to you. A young man dropped in the middle of New York City claiming to be from another universe. He called himself Nightwing.”
“Dick.” Bruce gasps in relief. His son was safe. That was enough for him to work with. The two of them have taken on the world before, they could do it again here. “He’s my eldest son. Please, if I could see him-”
Anyway, if you like Marvel/DC crossovers or are just open to one as long as its got a full Batfam ensemble with everyone seemingly poised to have their share of moments, definitely check this one out and give the author some kudos and encouragement!

From this oneshot of my X-Men main verse
This time when he turned to Hank, he finally seemed to really see him. "Out?"
"Yes. You’re out." Hank squeezed his good shoulder encouragingly, then went about opening the softly padded straps on Scott’s wrists and ankles. "We’re all home. No casualties."
With that, he injected those remaining 100 ml into the most recent IV line, to counter at least the worst of what was so brutal on Scott's body right now.
Much to his patient's confusion. "Didn’t you say …?"
"Just trying not to stuff your veins to the brim when it's not absolutely necessary," Hank gave back with an apologetic shrug. "Told you, I need your system up and running, not you hallucinating from drugs."
Scott's eyebrow went up high, slowly. "Why can’t I shoot you right now?"
"Complaining already. Welcome home." Logan briefly knocked that stretcher's mattress as an amicable salute and left for somewhere then where he could smoke his nerves back into place in peace.
Which made it Alison's job, quickly raising that reversal weapon Scott's way, muzzle turned downwards this time. "The effects will wear off soon. You probably got another five minutes without your blasts. We just needed to be sure you’re orientated enough not to send them the wrong way."
Scott acknowledged that with a stiff nod and by at least briefly pushing up his glasses but didn’t waste any time examining Alison’s expressive features with the thick blond curls, those ocean blue sparkling eyes, her fine freckles, in detail, unwilling as usual to dwell for long on the both so loved and so dreaded, so tempting effects of that weapon originating from Lehnsherr's hands.
He was scowling at the sight of Alison's wrecked wrists instead. "Hank, patch her the fuck up."
"Yeah, you definitely are feeling better." Hank took only another second to roll his eyes in mock exasperation before starting to hook Bastian to the lines necessary for a long-term treatment as well, as Alison was signaling him she still was in a state of aftershock that didn’t demand immediate attention.
This whole exchange amused me a lot because Scott is literally just out from days of straight up torture and all he can think about, the second he's no longer in pain delirium is having Hank patch up Dazzler aka his team being safe and taken care of. Also Hank withholding too much painkillers on him because Scott already basically lived off that the last few years because of his migraines, will never fail to crack me up.
🎢 Which of your fics would you call your wildest ride?
Funnily enough, in the sense of wild, probably a part of the American Idol season (German version) I've written. Not to mention the whole research work (including going to TV casting show castings personally) that went into the series, describing the whole casting and recall progress, the live shows themselves, with all the songs the contestants sing, show acts, costumes etc., the whole series is something I enjoy reading a lot still. But part 3 is probably the wildest ride. While it's describing the last few shows and the finale, of course, along with the love story of the two protagonists, it also deals with the fact that one of the other contestants and the best friend of the protagonists just fell off a roof drunk and died in a freak accident with the two protagonists watching and holding his hand. There's obviously a lot of feels in this fictional TV reality show season, and I certainly didn't expect it to move me as much when I started that thing back then.
📈 How many fics do you have?
That's always a loaded question. Written? Published? On my PC? Written, I can't tell because I started writing at the age of 9 and my earliest stories on school notebooks sadly were trashed at some point. On AO3, I have 202 works mostly in English published as of now. In our German fanfiction archive fanfiktion.de, I have 131 German stories which are mostly not the same as on AO3 though. On my PC, I have dozen of other finished and unfinished additional stories that are only for my enjoyment.
✅ What’s something that appears in your fics over and over and over again, even if you don’t mean to?
I think most of my OCs at least start out as somewhat shy or having self-confidence issues. 8 years of mobbing at school left their mark, it's really as simple as that. There's always a lot of growth though, and most of these girls had no fucking idea in the beginning how much ass they'd be kicking in one way or another someday.

12 DAYS OF GIFMAS / Day Four, Your OC in Another Universe/Fandom (PT. 1 / PT. 2 / PT. 3): Ali Blaire from Dazzler in the Multiverse: Into the Spider-Verse
TO BE CLEAR—it was not Ali’s fault that some random portal opened and sucked herself up, only to drop her body off in some other alternate universe…this time. Honest. She didn’t even know the multiverse was real! But now that she does know, she’s never going to shut up about it.
(Peter B. Parker can attest to this.)
Perhaps it was fate’s way of bringing a bunch of people with similar powers—minus Ali, what’s up with that?—together to fight a common enemy (renditions of whom they’ve each faced in their own respective universes)? Or maybe the universe has no rhyme or reason and this purely happened by chance.
Ali was way too psyched about being a few universes away from home, and she wanted to take as much advantage of the opportunity as she could. When the time came to return to her own universe, she found it hard to let go.
Maybe she had really grown accustom to Earth-1610, or maybe she was trying to avoid something in her home universe.
Or maybe…she had just created a super close bond with all of her new friends whom she didn’t want to leave so soon. (However, everyone knows who she’s really talking about.)
