🌑Rogue is socially awkward around you until you get him to open up. He is a dark and mysterious type of man, and his Yandere tendencies match with this.

🌑He is protective. Rogue shows this by stalking you. He stalks you better than any yandere ever could. He is literally a shadow dragon slayer. He can slip into the shadows and watch over you like a hawk.

🌑He’s a bored man, but you give him more energy. You give him rose tinted glasses and put a candle in the darkness. Everything is just so utterly dark to him without you. He obsesses over this thought. How you give just a tendril of warmth and light to his stormy verging on charcoal gray skies.

🌑Rogue thinks small acts of kindness goes a long way. He gives you lingering one armed hugs, he picks up a book he knows you like, he lets you spend time with Frosch. He doesn’t really know any other way to show his affection. He’s very socially awkward. If you were going to compare him to someone, I’d probably say Todoroki from MHA. That’s how bad he is at talking to people. Where he’s not all that great at talking, he will listen to you. I can’t express how much he loves listening to you whether you’re elated, crying, full of rage. You two could be in an argument, and he’d just be standing there thinking, Aw, she’s so cute.

🌑He’s not a condescending type, and he isn’t sadistic either. That’s more of Sting with a darling.

🌑YOUR ASS BETTER BE PAYING ATTENTION WHILE YOU WATCH HIM TRAIN. He expresses, as much as he can given how little he talks, that he would really like for you to watch his sparring sessions. He glances out of the corner of his eye every now and then to make sure you’re paying attention to him. Of course, even when he takes his eyes off of his opponent, he blocks every attack with precision because he has to impress you. He just wants you to notice his improvements and be proud of him. That’s what he searches for in your eyes after he’s done.

🌑This ravenette is very fond of your opinions about anything and everything. Food, books, music, whatever. Again, this goes back to listening to you.

🌑His punishments are mere scoldings while he forces you to sit on his lap so that he can make sure you’re focused on him and only him. Every time your eyes wander, he bounces you on his knee to bring your attention back to him. He could never raise a hand to you, he could never chain you up. However, he is not submissive in any sense. He won’t let you push him around or talk to him any certain way. He expects you to be respectful because he’s respectful of you. Break that, and he might have to start going after your friends as a punishment. Again, he’s not sadistic, so he won’t enjoy punishing you by injuring your home girls, but he’ll fuck up a bestie to put you in your place.

🌑He’s not a time monopolizer. He trusts you, and if he has a bad sense that something is going on, he can always follow you. You’re very loyal, however, so if something feels off, he won’t suspect cheating. He’ll just follow you to make sure you’re safe. If he wants you back at any moment, he knows he can just get you back easily. All he has to do is find you (which is so easy for him), put an arm around your waist, and cart you off like you weight nothing more than a small bag of apples.

🌑He will break into your place and read your diary.

🌑Rogue will manipulate you into living with him rather than kidnapping you. He’s so fucking good at manipulation because he has to be. It’s his only way to keep you in line. He doesn’t bully you into your place, he simply guides you there by making you think it’s your own choice.

🌑All in all, he treats you with such kindness. He cares for you, listens to you, respects you, and never would dream of hurting you in any type of way. He’s a gentleman by definition, but if he sees you talking with any other guy…he will wait like a predator in the night until that man is alone and then unleash his wrath upon them. He will fucking kill them so fast it’s not even funny, and you will be none the wiser.

More Dragon Slayer Headcannons

Uhh holy shit the last one blew up like crazy, so here I guess have more dragon slayers being creepy.

Because they have more air in their lungs they can hold their breath for a stupidly ridiculous amount of time, they’re also excellent swimmers.

They have really dense bone structure but hollow air filled bones so they’re all extremely sturdy, they also have much denser muscles which leaves them unnaturally strong.

The more they use their dragon slayer magic, the more dragon like they become both in physical appearance and personality as over time it starts to slowly show up in their personalities, they become territorial and protective of what they deem to be ‘there’s’, they growl at people as a warning to back the fuck off, they bear their teeth as a sign of aggression, as for the physical their eyes will take on an unnatural glow, Natsu’s becoming orange like embers glowing in the darkness, Laxus’s become electric yellow, Gajeel’s become like brownish rust red and so on, their teeth become longer even the way they walk and carry themselves becomes more inhuman, they way they fight becomes like that of a beast only not wild, extremely intelligent and cunning to a frightening degree.

They naturally seek out their own element, almost like a honing instinct, Laxus tends to travel towards storms, while Natsu often travels as much as he can to hot places where fires are likely to start, Gajeel always visits a city’s junkyard, Rogue always finds his way to dark, pitch black caves while Sting always climbs to the highest sunniest peaks he can to bathe in the light, Wendy frequently visits high up or isolated mountains to be closer to the sky.

Dragon Force effects more than just their magic, it also effects their personality and they can become almost completely different people entirely retaining only their base most present thoughts from before hand with their instincts often telling them to do one thing only; defeat whatever enemy is in front of them.

They’re also in part nocturnal which is both inherited from their magic and because it was how they where raised, while it varied from dragon to dragon, most preferred to hunt and move at night-time due to the fact less humans where active at night and they could see perfectly well in the dark which made avoiding humans easier. Both Laxus and Erik are also semi-nocturnal because of this and most dragons slayers find it difficult to sleep at night as their brains are hard wired to be active during the period most humans are sleeping. The only acceptation to this is Sting who while he can use his magic in the dark, it doesn’t work nearly as well as it does in the day time.

They heal at an incredible fast rate, almost double the spend of a normal human. Though they can’t regrow limbs or anything like that, this incredible healing ability makes it easier to survive severe injuries and wounds. Laxus however using electricity can stimulate the cells in a particular area to heal even faster than other dragon slayers however overusing this technique leaves him severely exhausted and if he used it too much he’ll overload his entire nervous system and just collapse.

❥ Giving them the silent treatment

Includes: Natsu, Gray, Erza, Lucy, Gajeel, Sting, Rogue, Laxus, Macbeth, Freed, Erik, and Bickslow

Natsu

— Whines, groans, and moans. It literally never stops until you talk to him or even glance at him at least. He can be very childish, but your attention means a lot to him, and he’ll tone it down if that means he can hear you again. His face lights up when you finally give and start talking to him again.

Gray

— Gives it right back. He’s stubborn, even when he’s in the wrong. He realizes it later though, but he’s also a person that hates to admit he was wrong. He makes small attempts to get you to talk to him again. Believe it or not, he apologizes to get you to talk to him again and sighs a sigh of relief when you give in.

Erza

— Life gets a bit gloomy once again while you’re mad at her. She’s persistent to get you talk to her again though, but she realizes if you need time or space. She can easily admit her wrong doings, but would expect you to do the same. When you start talking to her again, she’s excited to have you back.

Lucy

— Her smile fades when she realizes that you aren’t talking to her. She’ll constantly think about you during missions or even afternoons by herself. Even though you aren’t talking to her, she continues to talk to you. When you did start talking to her once again, she was so happy to fill you in on her daily activities.

Gajeel

— Another stubborn one, and he won’t give in unless it is for a good reason. His pettiness knows no bounds even when it comes to his lover. But, fortunately, he has that soft side to him. He apologizes and hopes the problem can be resolved. When you start talking to him again, he’s happy to hear your voice again and forgets all about the problem.

Sting

— Thinks this is a joke when you stop talking to him, but when he realizes that you are really mad, he begins to backtrack with his recent actions. Once he finds out the problem, he immediately apologizes, hoping this would be over as soon as possible. When you start talking to him again, he’s ecstatic to hear that pretty voice directed at him.

Rogue

— Gives you space and plenty of time. You might have to confront him on this one. He doesn’t know how to react when you stop talking to him. Though, once you confront him in a head-on conversation, he apologizes for whatever he said or did that has made you upset. Wants to cuddle as a celebration.

Laxus

— refuses to apologize because he believes he wasn’t in the wrong. He tries to give you the silent treatment before you could do it to him, but you win in that race. Weeks later, he accepts that he was wrong and insists on making up with you. When you start talking to him again, he won’t particularly admit that he missed having you talk to him, but you certainly can tell.

Macbeth

— Gives you a cold shoulder when he notices that you aren’t talking to him anymore. He comes around eventually and is surprisingly more willing to solve it quickly. He can’t handle you not talking to him, so he’ll do anything to get you back. When you start talking to him again, he gives you a kiss on the cheek, letting you know that you two have officially made up.

Freed

— Spends time trying to avoid you. Though, he finds himself in the same places as you, all the time. He runs into you everywhere and he sort of just clams up. He begins to miss you, a lot. He eventually reaches out to apologize. When you start talking to him again, he thinks you two deserve a bubble bath to relax in.

Erik

— Annoys you to the point where you have to talk. It’s pretty unfair, the way he operates. He even goes as far as following you around, hoping you’d talk to him if he is with you all day. But when none of his actions work, he comes to you with a real apology, hoping you’d speak to him again. When you start talking to him again, he makes you promise to never give him the silent treatment again.

Bickslow

— A bit disappointed that you two have gotten to this point. He doesn’t dwell on it too much until he’s alone with you. He makes many attempts to say something, anything, but what it all boils down to is him apologizing. His apology is sincere and straightforward, wanting to hear your voice has been on his mind all day. When you start talking to him again, he has this big grin on his face.

Physical Headcanons of Dragon Slayers

Dragon Slayer Magic, and slayer magic in general, changes the User’s physiology in ways other magic types do not– though the element they correspond with does play a major factor in what changes occur, there are some that affect all Dragon Slayers: (Hiro and Tsuki are OC’s who only sort of exist in the same universe, but are both Dragon Slayers)

All Dragon Slayers have enhanced senses, more so than their God and Devil Slayer counterparts– where only one or two of their senses are heightened

Their senses are nearly triple that of a normal humans, and often leads to sensory overloads (Hiro and Erik having stronger hearing than most dragon slayers, Erik due to the nature of his magic- able to hear thoughts and movements of the body- and Hiro due to her magic and a genetic defect- able to hear all the way to Fiore’s farthest border with her mufflers turned up to 10 [10 is the strongest setting on mufflers, allowing the most sound to come through, but still blocking most of it]. Without her mufflers, she can hear all of Ishgar)

Their sense of taste is also increased. To protect their nervous system and body from damage caused by certain flavors, dragon slayers have a thicker, viscous saliva that covers their mouth as a shield, which ends up blocking a lot of flavor

This means they can eat the hottest peppers in Fiore with little fanfare, fire dragons in particular are prone to such snacking habits.

It also means their food will have more spices than most humans can handle, because they want to taste it

Their magic forms a thin barrier around their vital organs, though the actual purpose is unknown, it is believed that it’s to guard against internal attacks – poison, illness, etc.

The thickness of the barrier depends on age and element, with Wendy having thicker barriers than someone like Erik (who is immune to toxins), but not as thick as Gajeels.

Natsu and Tsuki’s magic burns through toxins, though Natsu is still vulnerable to a few. Tsuki’s internal temperature, being a White Fire Dragon Slayer, is far to high for normal toxins.

This means that, if Tsuki gets sick, the bacteria has evolved to survive her body temperature long enough to effect her. She will be under quarantine, as some bacteria would die with the body temp lower than they evolved to handle, while others will spread even further.

Dragon Slayers are able to roar, though their age, gender, and element do play a part in what it sounds like:

Tsuki and Natsu’s pitch shifts and changes with their mood, but it’s always extremely loud

Tsuki’s is, by far, the loudest naturally– she’s had plenty practice– and it often causes the ground to shake (There have been a few fallen buildings as a result, she doesn’t roar often)

Tsuki sounds most like a dragon, as she’s the only one who really remembers being taught how to roar like a dragon and not a slayer. Hiro would have been similar if she were old enough to learn it.

Wendy and Hiro are able to twist their vocal cords to create such a high pitch, that it can’t be heard–but still bursts eardrums

Due to their age, they have to force louder volumes, and usually need several minutes to let their voices rest afterwards

Hiro’s is more draconic simply because of the nature of Storm Dragon Slayers.

Laxus’ is loud, and incredibly deep, sounding like ongoing thunder with an echoing higher pitch– and is the second naturally loudest overall

Hiro, due to being a storm dragon slayer, also has a bit of this effect– like rolling thunder and lighting aftershocks. It’s a lot quieter than Laxus’.

Gajeel’s sounds like grating, creaking metal; it’s very deep, and has a medium volume- though it does cause slight vibrations in a thirty meter radius

Sting and Rogue have a medium volume, and no one really knows what their actual roar sounds like

They mimic each other and others, like light reflections and shadows

Erik doesn’t really roar, it’s more of a loud, ominous hissing sound

The sound causes a primal sort of fear in all who hear it, though dragon slayers are more immune than average humans. It does not affect Tsuki, who was raised and trained around many slayers, and Hiro, who lives to spite her body and instincts

Dragon Slayers also purr, much like cats do, though the same factors apply

Tsuki purrs the second most, and does it especially when around those she considers hers

Her’s in specific has a soothing, and calming effect. It tells you everything will be alright, and that she’ll take care of it. It comes with being the oldest and most intune with her instincts

Natus also purrs quite a bit, usually while eating or sleeping

Since he’s still young, it’s more of the effect of a kitten on Tsuki, though non-dragon slayers don’t really notice the difference

Wendy and Hiro purr like it’s second nature, though Wendy only really does so to calm Hiro. Hiro purrs the most out of all of them

They are very noticeably kitten purrs, giving the urge to protect and nurture to the older dragon slayers that hear it

Laxus has deep rumbling purrs, and he doesn’t purr often

So far, Tsuki, Erik, Wendy, Hiro, and his kids are the only ones who have ever heard him purr

Though, it’s more like they feel him purr

Gajeel also has deep purrs, though rather quiet

Again, it’s more of something you feel than hear, his entire body shakes with the force

This is all according to Tsuki and Hiro, though some believe Wendy and Levy have heard them– neither will reveal anything

Sting and Rogue are much like Natsu, though they have more control over it– due to the trauma inflicted by Jiemma

With Tsuki, Laxus, and Erik, they are near constantly purring

They do purr around Hiro as well, its almost infectious

Erik is more similar to a snake than a cat, and his draconic sounds reflect that! So, while he doesn’t exactly purr, he also kind of does.

It sounds more like a quiet, content hissing though, but is described as more of a churr

Purrs are very infectious, if one purrs, they all purr, even if they’re doing so for different reasons

Stick em in a room with Tsuki and/or Hiro purring, and soon they’ll all be doing it without realizing

It’s a form of nonverbal communication for dragons, usually meaning happiness or contentedness

Dragon slayers have sharp claws, though their length depends entirely on the individual slayer

Some keep them filed down as not to accidentally scratch anything, but it does cause a strange, burning-itch in their fingers

The claws grow faster than an average human’s nails

Tsuki doesn’t cut hers beyond a certain point, cutting them down to the same length of the average nail is what causes the itching, almost like declawing a cat, very uncomfortable and not the usual

Natsu and Hiro don’t cut theirs down either, and it’s up to Tsuki to make sure they actually take care of them– though Hiro is generally very good at keeping them short enough to be able to do things, but long enough to defend herself if she can’t access magic

Gajeel also keeps his a certain length, and so does Erik, but Gajeel does it for max Bad Boy Effect and Erik does it because the tips can excrete poison if he wants them too, and if he cuts them too close it gets into his bloodstream and it’s really annoying

Laxus keeps his claws short because long nails make him uncomfortable, and the electricity in his body already causes itchiness. What's a little bit more?

Wendy keeps her short, but not super short, and also files them into more a square shape

Wendy likes to paint all their nails and once she and Hiro use the Puppy Eyes, no one can decline, it’s against the law

All kinds of Slayers have two magical cores, where their magic energy is stored, while other Wizards only have one.

No one knows entirely why, but it is believed that the first Slayers evolved the second core to manage their magic easier, as it is a very volatile magic genre

Dragon Slayers are hypoglycemic, mostly because of the volatile nature of their magic eating up at any sort of energy their body has– including their blood sugars.

Tsuki is the only one who is aware of this, but thinks the others are aware even if they’re not.

They know their body feels weird and they get tired, and that Tsuki makes sure they all eat after every fight and will shove food in their mouth whenever they feel that Weird Discomfort in their bones, but they don’t know why and don’t really care. That’s it.

It’s very annoying to deal with

They suck at taking care of themselves, all in different ways and all for different reasons.

Fairy Tail Headcanon:

-the dragon slayers purr

-including Laxus and Cobra (they both get motion sick too so)

-they only do it when they are comfortable/tired

-Natsu sometimes does it when he’s really happy at the guild, or when he’s with Lucy and Happy snuggling in bed

-Lucy was very shocked to know this but thought it was cute

-Gajeel only does it in front of Levy and Lily in private

-Will not admit he does it for the life of him

-Wendy is more like Natsu, but especially does it when she gets headrubs

-Sting and Rogue used to only do it front of each other and Frosch and Lector during the Jiemma period

-after Sting became Master, they do it more now

-Rogue still reserves it for Frosch but it slips sometimes

-Sting will do it if anyone scratches where his hair and his neck meet, or if Yukino makes him blush

-Laxus refuses to admit it’s a thing he can do

-he did it once if front of Freed but he promised not to say

-Erik does it only when he’s about to fall asleep/wake up

Dragon Slayer Head-Cannons

All of the dragon slayers are extremely creepy, they unnerve the hell out of other people just by being around them. Part of it is their appearance with pointed ears, dragon like eyes, the nails which seem more like claws and strange marks upon their skin but there’s more to it than that. The way they hold your stare, the way their pupils sharpen in the light, the way they hold their fingers-claws ready to slash-, the smiles they hold with razor sharp teeth. Nobody ever knows what it specifically is, just that there is something not quite human about them.

Dragon Slayer biology is completely wild and so different from human biology that they’re a lot closer to dragons than they are to humans.

They can see completely in the dark

They also have scales on the rough of their mouth and in the back of there throat to protect them from their roar’s.

They also have marks which came to be called dragon slayer marks as it allows both dragons and other dragon slayers to identify them, different elements produce different marks. Gajeel for example has black marks which look like welded seems across his body, Natsu has flame like patterns, Wendy has cloud like patterns, Laxus lightning like patterns, Sting has round circles like halo’s of light, Rogue has black patterns like shadows, Erik has what looks like small tear drops under his eyes but are obviously poison.

They have four sets of lungs to power their roar’s and employ a system of air sac’s (Air sac’s ensure oxygen rich air flows through the body when breathing in and out and is used by birds and they think dinosaurs used it to) however this can produce somewhat of a weakness as the second set of lungs are located behind the first and thus are towards the back of the ribcage making their back sensitive to impact. One good hit to the back and they’ll be completely stunned for a short period.

Their claws are razor sharp and can cause serious injury. Though the sharpness of the claw depends on the dragon slayer, Gajeel’s are strong enough to cut through iron and out of all the dragon slayers his are the thickest with Wendy’s being the weakest.

They instinctively fear whatever element they are weakest too. To explain Natsu is afraid of water though he can swim just fine he absolutely hates being in the water more than anything. Gajeel fears magma and extremely high temperature fire as they can melt through his iron (Though the fire has to be well over 2,500 Degrees Celsius as his iron is twice as strong as normal iron and twice the melting point). Wendy dislikes being low to the ground and prefers to be up in the air, she also fears polluted area’s or poisonous gases though she can use her magic to purify the air doing so is dangerous to her. Laxus similarly to Natsu dislikes water along with Earth magic as solid ground doesn’t conduct lightning and is one of the few things that stops lightning dead in its tracks. Sting is afraid of dark and black as they can smother his white-light. Rogue on the other hand is afraid of bright light and powerful sources of energy as they can erase his shadows. Erik is afraid of purifying magic as it can obviously cancel out his poison.

They’re all extremely flexible and agile, with it varying from dragon slayer to dragon slayer. From most flexible to least the list goest as follows. Natsu, Wendy, Sting, Rogue, Laxus, Gajeel.

That’s all I can think of for now though I’ll probably post another one of these at a later date focusing on each dragon slayer individually. As well as specific posts for Irene, Achnologia and maybe God Serena if I get around to it.

— Stares at you in shock as soon as you take the back of your hand and wipe the kiss away. This has him overthinking immediately and he slowly begins to pout. “Are my kisses not enough for you?” Almost cries but tries to play it off as if he wasn’t going to.

Gray

— Makes a rude comment when you wipe away his kiss. Won’t kiss you for the rest of the day. You’ll catch him staring at your lips, frequently. He won’t ask for a kiss or even make an attempt for one. Only until you apologize that is, expect to be peppered in kisses.

Erza

— She asks herself if the kiss was bad. She does it again, but when you wipe the kiss off again, she knows you are messing with her. She becomes petty too, and isn’t even willing to sit next to you during lunch. She ends up caving and asks you to not do it anymore.

Lucy

— She’s concerned on why you don’t want her kisses. Is she kissing you too hard? Too soft? Too long? Like Natsu, she begins to pout. She’ll follow you around all day, asking for a kiss. When you finally do give her one without wiping it away, she’s the happiest girl in the world.

Gajeel

— Stubborn. He’ll kiss you over and over again until he can get a kiss in that you don’t wipe off. Stares you down after you wipe away every kiss. Demands you give him a kiss and when you wipe that one off, he starts to feel sad. Cheer him up quickly.

Sting

— He knows his kisses are good. So, he knows that you’re messing with him. He’s basically saying, “I too, can play this game,” and he does. He claims he won’t cuddle you anymore if you keep this up. He’ll only be satisfied when he gets his much deserved kiss.

Rogue

— he’s disappointed when you wipe away his kiss. He won’t say anything about it, but it’s always in his facial features. He visibly frowns when you wipe away a kiss. Only Sting really notices it. Rogue will try time and time again to get a kiss from you without you wiping it away.

Laxus

— Grabs a hold of your hands and then gives you a kiss. He dares you to try it again, and when you try to free your hands out of his grasp to wipe away the kiss, he’s stunned. He even starts to believe that you aren’t his lover, and you’ve been replaced. Though, when he finds out that you’re messing with him, you’re going to pay.

Macbeth

— Sighs when you do it. He doesn’t have enough energy to try to get another kiss in. He’ll try again in a couple of hours, but when you do the same thing, he starts to get annoyed. Immediately goes to grabbing your hands, asking you to stop.

Freed

— Does his love not like his kisses anymore? He has always been reasonable when it comes to things like this. Maybe you didn’t like that one? He tries again with a second kiss, you wipe that one away, he starts to second guess himself. Not realizing that you are messing with him, he believes he’s not kissing you the right way.

Erik

— Will hold your face in place just so you can’t wipe it away. He wants you to do it, just so he can give you another way. “My kiss rubbed off a little, here, let me give you another one.” He is aware that you’re messing with him, and no one is going to get the jump on him. He’ll kiss you until you have no more strength to wipe it away.

Rogue Cheney x Fem!Reader

Thank you so much for this request Anon! I was so excited to write for Fairy tail. This did end up becoming kind of a School AU so I hope you still like it! ❤

Y/n still remembered how she met Rogue. They were kids, only about 7. The two were placed in the seats across from each other in their class. While Rogue was more reserved and quiet at the time, Y/n had no fear in approaching him. She often struck up conversation when conversation shouldn’t have happened, resulting in her parents needing to speak with the teacher on multiple occasions for talking during class.

It never stopped her though. She was intrigued by the young boy. She wanted to get to know him and found every way she could to try and talk with him. Oh, a new worksheet? She needs to ask him for help, even if he didn’t seem to know any better. Reading time? She would sit next to him and try to whisper questions about his book while the teacher wasn’t looking. Lunch time? She would plop herself right next to him and ask him about what he packed that day. Recess? She was relentless. Would follow him around, talking about things that went on at home.

Rogue never had an argument against it. He had to admit he had a small crush on her from the moment she first made her presence known. And he didn’t mind the company. He could see how proud Y/n would be with herself when he would start talking to her more and more.

Eventually, they were inseparable. They grew up together, finding a tree that was just outside the forest that they hung out around a ton, Y/n dragging him to go window shopping (mostly because she couldn’t actually buy anything with how broke she was), and countless amount of study “dates”.

Rogue, now 14, took his usual seat under the tree, their normal hang out spot, while Y/n was climbing it. She pulls herself up onto a branch, sitting on it and looking down at the dark haired boy.

“Don’t you need to prepare for a test, Y/n?” Rogue questions without looking up at her.

“But that's so boring.” She grumbles before turning around and letting herself fall back, her legs hooked around the branch. She stares at her best friend while hanging upside down and he finally gives her a small glance before a smirk graces his face. “How was your day today?”

“It was good. I met a new kid.” He answers.

“Was it a girl?” Y/n tries to seem excited while asking that but was hoping it wasn’t.

“No.” He laughs at her, which causes a blush to brighten her cheeks. “His name is Sting.”

“Oh, wait. I think I saw him. Was he nice?”

“He was intense. Seemed a little like a class clown. Nothing I’m not used to.” He chuckles as he watches her reach up for the branch, holding it as she tries to pull her legs off and get on the ground. It had rained that morning, making the branches slick. Y/n loses her grip and falls, knowing it wasn’t a long fall but would hurt nonetheless. Her bottom hits the ground but her head is supported to keep it from smacking off of the ground underneath her. Rogue had placed his hand under her head to keep her from a potential concussion. “This is what I meant.”

Y/n laughs a little while pushing herself up so she was sitting upright, “I guess I am a little klutzy.”

“A little? What about the time I had to steer you away from the wet floor sign you almost tripped over because you weren’t paying attention?” He tries to conceal his laughter.

“We were in the middle of a conversation.” She scoffs.

“And when you tried to walk to your backyard and ran right into the screen door, breaking it as you fell onto your deck?” Y/n crosses her arms, giving him a playful glare. “And what about the time you proved that slipping on a banana peel was not just something in cartoons?”

“Okay, okay.” She holds up her hands as the two of them laugh. “I guess I don’t exactly pay attention all the time.” She runs a hand through her hair.

“Not anything wrong with it. I just had to always be your knight in shining armor until the day we die.” Rogue smiles.

“I won’t complain.” Y/n shrugs, returning his smile. Rogue meets her eyes and reaches over, fixing her hair before resting his hand on her cheek. Y/n could feel her heart pick up its pace as her thoughts began running wild. He leaned in enough that she knew exactly what he was doing. And she couldn’t believe that it was going to actually happen.

“Wow, is this where you hang out, Rogue?” A boy's voice interrupts the moment and the two pull away, clearing their throats and acting like nothing was about to happen. Y/n stares at the boy with complete shock. It was that new kid, Sting, and not only did he ruin a moment but he was intruding on her and Rogue’s spot. Granted it is a public space but it felt a little invasive.

“Sting? What are you doing here?” Rogue practically choked on his words, still trying to regain himself.

“I heard you two talking about this place at lunch today. I got bored and figured I would meet your other friend.” Sting shrugs as he walks over. Y/n tried to put on her best face but she couldn’t help but be angry at Sting. Not only is he invading this private moment but he eavesdropped on their conversation. Sting takes a seat with them and Rogue sighs with a nod.

Y/n didn’t hold it against Sting for long. She understood that he was new and looking for friends. But ever since he became a part of the group it felt almost impossible to get Rogue alone. Two years. Two years of Sting interrupting any attempt Y/n tried at getting to hang out with her best friend alone.

She tried offering to go to her place.

“Hey, Rogue, I was wondering if you wanted to come to my place and study?” Sting slung his arms over their shoulders.

“Study hangout at Y/n’s place? Let’s do it!”

Suggested the library.

“Maybe we can go to the Library during lunch?” She suggested as she shut her locker. Rogue had agreed but of course Sting was bugging them the minute they were in there. They actually got thrown out for him being too loud.

Hell, Y/n even tried the note in Rogue’s locker, offering to meet at her house without Sting being able to heat her asking. But when Rogue opened his locker the note fell out and onto the floor.

“You got a love note, dude!” Sting is quick to grab the note from the floor and opens it up. Y/n groans and places her forehead against her locker door. “Oh, no. It’s just Y/n asking you to meet at her place. Y/n, come on. If you wanted us to come over you could have just asked.” Sting looks at her while laughing. She gripped her locker out of anger before slamming it shut and storming away from the two boys. “What’s got her panties in a twist?”

“Don’t talk about her like that.” Rogue shakes his head, shutting his locker before walking after her. She had already left the school though. He knew where she went. He heads to their normal hang out spot just outside the forest. She was leaning against the trees with her legs pulled to her chest, her chin resting on her knees. Rogue approaches her, setting his bag down before sitting across from her.

“I get he just likes spending time with us but it’s completely affected our friendship.” She mumbles.

“What do you mean?”

“Me and you. We never hang out without him anymore. I don’t hate having him around, he’s a great guy, but I miss hanging out, just us. He always invites himself everywhere.” Y/n finally tears her eyes from the ground and looks up at Rogue.

“Have you tried talking to him?” He asks.

“Do you even feel the same? You could have talked to him.” She huffs, turning her head to look away from him.

“Y/n-”

“Found you guys. Knew you would be here.” Sting begins approaching the two of them. Y/n rolls her eyes, grabbing her bag, preparing to stand up. Rogue holds his hands up and he stands.

“Just wait here.” He begs before walking to Sting, pulling him away. Y/n doesn’t listen and pulls herself to her feet, slinging her bag on her shoulder.

“Listen, man, you need to give us a little space sometimes.” Rogue tries to explain. Sting goes to say something but Rogue stops him. “I get you wanting to hang out with us but I think it’s upsetting Y/n and I wouldn’t mind time alone with her.” Sting attempts to talk again but Rogue doesn’t let him. “Listen, I really like her. I have for a while and I have wanted to tell her but I can’t do that when you are always here.”

“Rogue!” Sting raises his voice, shutting Rogue up. “She left.” He points to the tree, causing the dark haired boy’s turn around to see where she was just sitting to be empty.

“Why didn’t you say something sooner!” Rogue hurries to get his bag.

“I tried. You wouldn’t let me get a word out. You know all you had to do was ask me to not bug you two.” Sting chuckles. “Go on and get her.” Rogue heads off into the direction of Y/n’s house. This was the path they always took on the way back. He knew she couldn’t get far if he ran.

He was right. Not too far ahead was Y/n who was walking toward her house. He keeps running which causes Y/n to turn around at the sound of footsteps coming up quickly behind her. She seemed startled but calmed as she saw it was just her childhood best friend.

“You scared me.” She mumbles. Rogue was quick to stop in his tracks, seeing her face. She was crying and there was no hiding it. She wipes her face with her sleeve, realizing he noticed.

“Y/n…” He tries to catch his breath. “I talked with him. Sting. He said he understands.”

“Yeah, you only talked with him after I said something.” She scoffs with a slight laugh of anger.

“I know. And go ahead and be mad at me.” He steps closer to her and places his hands on her shoulders. “Because I have been so stupid.” His voice becomes more quiet.

“It’s whatever.” She shrugs.

“It’s not. Y/n, I need to tell you something I have wanted to tell you for so long.” Rogue sighs as he moves his hand up her neck and places it gently over her cheek. She looks at him with hopeful eyes as her heart begins to pound in her chest. She wanted to be angry but how could she? One look at him and she was swooning.

“Go on.” She nods.

“I think I love you. I think I have for a long time. And I really really want to kiss you right now.” He whispers as he holds eye contact with her.

“Really?” The corners of her lips tug up into a smile.

“Really.” Rogue wipes her face of any tears before leaning down to capture her lips with his, which ridded her of any anger she still felt. Her arms drape over his shoulders as their smiles are unable to be contained and they have to pull apart.

“Promise me that we’ll actually get time alone again?”

“Of course we will.” He chuckles.
