While Leroy didn’t like gossip, he wasn’t immune to it and he’d heard about a young boy claiming to be Tony Stark’s intern showing up randomly throughout the building. He just figured it was some random mystery, a Stark Industries cryptid if you will.

Never did he think he’d have a sighting.

“Are you Peter Parker?” Leroy questioned, narrowing his eyes at the young boy, looking for any signs of deceit.

“Oh yeah, that’s me, hi!” Possibly Fabled Intern Peter Parker reached into his pocket and pulled out a badge and lanyard, this one with his face on it and INTERN written underneath it. “Mr. Stark got me a badge so I can get nachos whenever I want.”

Tony had been out of the country for weeks on SI business, and Peter was having a hard time. He missed him, plain and simple.

Okay. Maybe not so plain and simple.

Peter had a rough time in the weeks and months that followed the final defeat of Thanos in the ruins of the Compound. Thrust back into life, only to be forced to fight for the lives of the entire universe for the second time at only sixteen-years-old, and then to be told that his last living relative died in a crash during his five year absence did wonders for his psyche.

He developed a nasty form of separation anxiety toward his mentor-turned-adoptive-father -- not that Tony fared much better himself -- and his therapist had said it was a side effect of PTSD and that it would get better over time.

A small field trip fic to SI where Tony has been out of the country for a few weeks, and Peter isn't handling it well.

Members of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai tribes (CSKT) and neighbors gathered under a large tent to sing and dance in celebration of a historic event: the tribes’ reclamation of management of the bison range after more than a century of federal management and nearly two decades of negotiations.

“This all dates back to the treaty of 1855, when that agreement wasn’t honored and this land was taken by the government,” said Stephanie Gillin, wildlife biologist for the CSKT Natural Resources Department.

CSKT tribal chairman Tom McDonald said the restoration of the bison range to tribal control is about more than just land. By righting a longstanding wrong, he said, the transfer helps foster trust and encourages collaboration between tribal nations and government agencies, restoring honor to once-broken treaties and allowing tribes to steward the land as they had for thousands of years.

“It’s a restoration of a piece that was missing. It represents a gift of what we may care for to protect and have something for future generations,” McDonald said. The three-day celebration began with a powwow on Friday and ended with half-price entry to the range on Sunday. The event featured appearances by Montana senator Jon Tester and Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland.

On Saturday, Haaland spoke before a crowd at Salish Kootenai College in Pablo to honor the resilience of tribal nations.

“With the loss of tribal homelands and the depletion of the buffalo herds, the plains tribes lost traditional connections with this beautiful animal. But despite that terrible tragedy and loss, we are still here. You are still here. And that is something to celebrate,” Haaland said.

After years of failed negotiations, the transfer was accomplished through enactment of the Montana Water Rights Protection Act of 2020, returning the bison range to CSKT management. The transfer became official on 2 January 2022.

“The return of the bison range to these tribes is a triumph and a testament to what can happen when we collaboratively work together to restore balance to ecosystems that were injured by greed and disrespect,” Haaland said.

From heartfelt speeches to rambunctious Native games, the event was full of life, joy and color. On Friday, an announcer repeatedly proclaimed, “It’s a good day to be Indian.”

Every elder who spoke reiterated the important role played by bison in Native culture, including a deep spiritual connection that makes the management transfer more than a matter of legal logistics.

Cadybear's Reviews- Murder at Homecoming

Welcome to the thirty-seventh official Cadybear's Reviews! Today I'll be talking about Murder at Homecoming, which I have ranked on the "Platinum Tier" at 9 stars out of a possible 10. My last and only playthrough of this was during September-December 2022.

This is definitely one of the better, if not the best release, of 2022, and it’s easily among my personal faves.

A MC who is proactive and gets shit done, multiple LIs, highly compelling story. How can I not love that? All three of the LIs are amazing characters– and Tyler especially is just precious. I think he’s the first love interest I have ever adored nearly as much as I’ve adored Aiden. I miss when we had male LIs that are just so babygirl.

The incorporation of mature topics and queer themes was especially excellent. MTFL, take notes! Because THIS is how you write a teen story that talks about queer sexuality and mature behaviors. Besides maybe BiBound I mean BloodBound, this is probably the first book in Choices where each LI has some degree of confirmed sexuality outside of their LI option status for the MC.

One thing that’s especially notable is how Tyler will talk about how he used to think he was straight if you romance him as a male or enby MC. I normally don’t mind much when LIs in GOC stories are made with the “playersexual” style of writing, but these sort of little changes are a good show of effort and give Tyler more character.

But of course, it’s not without a handful of problems.

Like COP (1), the story is incredibly linear and none of the clues or choices really affect your story. Sure, they give you a bit of extra background, but that’s about it.

The only choices that really have any impact are the stuff related to the queer discussions, Tyler’s romance route, and how the options for how your MC can talk about their queer experience can change based on your MC’s gender and romance choices. Which is still highly praiseworthy, don’t get me wrong, but I’d have loved to see some variation in the other elements of the book too.

And as much as I did enjoy this MC and do consider them one of the more refreshing ones, they were also a bit too rigid and pre-set for me at times. I get that some MCs will need to have pre-set details about them, and to some degree that does apply to this MC, but it was a bit much at times. Like, there was especially no need to give them a default first AND last name. I do like the aspect of MC preferring to go by their middle name, but we still could have been allowed to change their first and last names too, to be honest.

I found it really hard to feel for the loss of Perdita for this reason; the traumatic event backstory didn’t feel as well established, compared to that of ILITW and ACOR MCs. Though to be fair, I do remember there being a handful of premium scenes to see a memory with Perdita, and I do remember skipping all but two of them.

But even then, I never felt she had quite as much importance as the writers clearly wanted her to have? Outside of being a motivator for MC to solve Gabbie’s case and allowing MC to connect with Donovan better. Maybe my opinion on this might change after I give it a replay, though.

That being said, I’m actually fine with the story not telling us what really happened to Perdita, as much as I’d have loved a continuation for this book. MC not knowing what happened to Perdita is what motivated them to solve Gabbie’s case, and in that regard, the two cases kind of juxtapose one another. Whereas MC is able to get closure for Gabbie’s case, they don’t do that for Perdita’s case.

That makes the ending a little more nuanced in my opinion. Sometimes, we don’t always get closure for these kinds of things. While I’m still mixed on how well the story integrated Perdita, this message was handled decently and didn’t feel like it was in bad spirit.

So if there were a continuation for this story, I wouldn’t mind it being centered around MC finding Perdita, motivated to work on that case more actively after their success with Gabbie’s case. But rather than having them solve the case, it can mostly center around them struggling between whether they should keep up that search, or leave it as a cold case and move on.

Overall, definitely a higher-tier and very respectable story that definitely deserves a replay.

CFWC Holiday Event 2022

It's the end of the year and time for us all to have some holiday fun! We wanted to make this event less structured to allow writers more freedom to create, so while prompts are being provided to spur creativity, any seasonal holiday-themed fics can be submitted for this event and contest.

The six-week event will run from November 27 through January 7.

To participate, mention @choicesficwriterscreations on your post and use the tag #cfwc holidays 2022.

As a thank you to all of our talented creators who have been working so hard to keep our fandom going through 2022, we will be offering a prize for this event. One lucky winner will be selected at random to win a commission by @/artbyainna (IG). The drawing will take place no later than Monday, January 9th, and the winner will be announced on the blog. Louis Tomlinson today announces the return of his highly successful festival 'Away From Home' this year.

Following the huge success of the festival's 2021 debut, the 2022 one day festival will be held at the stunning Marenostrum Fuengirola, Malaga, Spain hosting 17,000 fans on Saturday 27th August.

Conceived and curated by Louis himself, the Away From Home festival was first held in 2021 at the UK’s iconic Crystal Palace Bowl and witnessed an audience of over 6,000 people.

This year in Malaga the stellar line-up includes English Indie-rock band The Vaccines who over the past decade have established themselves as one of Britain's biggest and most loved bands.

Madrid based Indie band Hinds also take the stage fresh from supporting The Strokes, along with Sun Room who bring their infectious energy following their support slots on Louis' global tour. Exciting Northern British Alt-punk band Stone will be on the bill bringing their exciting sound to Spain for the first time. In addition, the line-up will feature special DJ sets from The Libertines' very own Carl Barât.

Louis will be performing a full special headline set to close out the day.

Born in 2016, Marenostrum is quickly establishing itself as one of the most spectacular outdoor venues in Europe, with its proximity to the sea and view of Sohail Castle, offering the perfect location for The Away From Home Festival España 2022.

Tickets go on sale 10am CEST Friday 10th June and can be found through The Away From Home Festival website.

Louis has spent the last two years writing and recording his second solo album after signing a new global deal with BMG.

In 2021 , Louis was listed in the Guinness Book Of World Records for breaking the record for the most livestreamed concert by a solo male artist. Louis hosted one of the biggest live stream concert events of 2020, selling over 160,000 tickets to fans in over 110 countries and raising funds for several important charities and touring crew affected by the pandemic.

Louis is currently travelling the globe with his massive sold out World Tour which has so far visited UK, Europe, USA and South America. The tour included a sell out night at London's Wembley Arena and a highly emotional homecoming concert at The Dome in Louis's home town of Doncaster. Next the tour visits Asia and Australia for nine more sell out shows.

In total the tour has sold a phenomenal 500,000 tickets globally.

Katie Taylor vs Chantelle Cameron - 05/20/2022

Ireland's Katie Taylor (22-1) suffered her first ever loss in her move up to light welterweight (140lbs). The undisputed lightweight champion came up short in her effort to become a 2 division undisputed champion against Chantelle Cameron (18-0). It was a huge homecoming event for Taylor, her first fight in Ireland.

Taylor and Cameron will run it back this Saturday (Nov. 25) when they face off again for Cameron's 140lb championship.

Every time I feel like I’m getting caught up in my reading, another wave of truly fun fic comes rumbling my way. This isn’t all Kinktober, but it certainly has its run of the town at the moment....

Kinktober 2022 by @chaoticgeminate Okay. Okay okay okay Kinktober is starting out just how I like it, soft and slow. If Javi’s gonna talk quietly in my ear while he softly wakes me up and helps me over the edge like in Day One’s dirty talk session, I’m gonna have problems. Updating now on Day Four and holy craps the feels. This is so emotionally fulfilling. Updating on Day Seven: I love how each day is a different exploration of their relationship, and now I wanna dress my own boy up as Oberyn so bad.... Updating on Day Nine: This is just a wall-to-wall soft sexfest and I’m so here for it.

The Last Blockbuster: Who’s On First? by @blueeyesatnight I was so excited to see an update to this series, especially after the cliffhanger it was left on last time. This one though really makes the RC examine her feelings and her own hangups about wealth and nice things and what she thinks she deserves. It twisted my heart in a good way...and was tempered by a lot of comedy. I’m such a slut for a funny love scene...

Hechizado part 2 by @grogusmum Oh ho, the enchantment is on. I love this little witch and her meddling familiar. And what I love more is a doofy, bewitched meow meow of a Javi coming to woo.

Anything, Everywhere by @something-tofightfor Rachael’s relationships are always so real and visceral. I love the intimacy shown through vulnerability in her writing and her very first Kinktober prompt is no exception. And because of that vulnerability, Frankie is a perfect choice for a phone sex piece--I can’t think of another man I’d want to try it with either. This story is part of a bigger universe that I’ve yet to read, but it really stands alone (when it alludes to sexytimes in the past I’m not lost, it just makes me want to read the series even more).

Kinktober 2022 A/B/O by @clydesducktape The omegaverse gives me tingles because it taps into my lizard brain. All the drive and want to satisfy the senses, the incorporation of scent and marking...it’s just my thing I guess. And then you have soft Frankie. And in 400 words, Thia takes it slow and weaves a spell so unbreakable it has my whole body on lock. This. Is. Delicious.

Vanilla by @radiowallet I mean, one would assume Marcus is as much of an honorable sweetheart in the sheets as he is on the beat, but one would assume very very wrong. If Marcus is vanilla, he is top grade, gourmet, triple-churned, and dripping with it. If this is vanilla, then vanilla has a pretty rich flavor profile, if you ask me.

On Feb. 22-25, 1986, the biggest mass protest took place along EDSA Avenue. Hence, it was christened the People Power Revolution, or EDSA Revolution.

It was also known as the Yellow Revolution, in memory of when yellow ribbons were tied around trees to celebrate the homecoming of the dictator's biggest opponent.

The event gained international renown for its status as a bloodless revolution, where citizens resisted through nonviolent means (ex. offering flowers to soldiers in compelling them to reconsider). My favorite photograph from this historic event also served as my main reference for this piece! The quote I used isn't directly connected to EDSA Rev, I just couldn't resist featuring one written by a revolutionary author.

The revolution of 1898 may not have worked out in the Philippines’ favor, but the one in 1986 did. The revolution that surprised the world.

It's never too late to do better. Let's go surprise the world again. ✊🏽
