No one really knew how old she was, but his father said she'd been called Old Nan even when he was a boy. She was the oldest person in Winterfell for certain, maybe the oldest person in the Seven Kingdoms.

A Game of Their Own
1940s Women’s Baseball AU
Tumblr media
When Arya was a girl, if you’d asked her what her favourite baseball team was, she’d say the Wintertown Grey Sox of course. But if she was being honest, she’d have to say the 1931 King’s Landing Royals. That season they were unstoppable with 119 wins to 36 losses. They were nicknamed ‘the Kingsguard’ — Arthur Dayne, Barristan Selmy, Gerold Hightower, Llewyn Martell, Gwayne Gaunt, Oswell Whent, Jon Darry, Harlan Grandison, and Jaime Lannister in his rookie year… what a line up!
If you’d ask her who her favourite ball player was, she’d say her brother Robb, if she was feeling loyal, or his best friend Jon, if she was feeling argumentative. They were equally good, and would both make it to the majors, easy. But once again, if she was being honest — and she almost never was — she’d say her favourite player was her sister, Sansa.
When Sansa wasn’t being an absolute pill, bossing her around, and telling her to ‘lay off the high ones’, Arya actually enjoyed watching her play. At bat, she’d stare down a pitcher, and smirk as if she knew something they didn’t. And maybe that was true, because she kept them all on their toes. She was a switch hitter, and wasn’t afraid to lay down a bunt when they expected her to swing for the fences, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t knock ‘em out when she wanted to. And she was fast! And fearless — she could steal bases like nobody’s business, and expertly stretch singles into doubles, rounding first like a gazelle and sliding headlong into second.
Sansa was two years older, she was tall, and beautiful — she took after Mother, and had inherited her high cheekbones, rich auburn hair, and bright blue eyes. She had lots of friends, earned good grades, and almost never got into trouble. Arya would regularly list all of these strikes against her sister in her head with dull resentment, but what burned her up inside was how effortlessly good Sansa was at baseball.
