Discovering Your Past - Eula & Keqing x Male!Reader
In which they find out you were abused by your ex.
CW: Mentions of past trauma - physical abuse and SA. Modern AU. A/N: My fics are getting longer recently. I wonder if you guys mind?
Tumblr media
Injuries are a natural part of life.
A scraped knee, a concussion, a sprained or broken limb - all creatures will have to endure these hardships one way or another. And, as the saying goes, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Each wound leaves a scar, each fight or accident is a lesson for the future on what to do or avoid.
What about those on the other end? Most feel regret about hurting others, are forced to do it or are convinced of their actions' justified nature. Yet among those are some starkly different cases. People who enjoy causing pain, be it physical or mental. And, undoubtedly, she was one of them.
Fate had it that your heart longed for her. She was a beauty, benign and friendly, whose charms worked on you without fail. She pushed, she pulled, slowly dragging you into her web. Your mind was too clouded with feelings to notice just how badly she trapped you. Like a spider she wrapped you in silky touches and words of affection like in a cocoon, and you were completely oblivious to your situation. And that she was - an apex predator, an effortless liar and natural manipulator. She stoked the flames of family conflicts, estranging you from your loved ones. Friends? She gave you a simple choice - it's me or them. You were coaxed into signing off your house under her name, as she encouraged you to do with many of your belongings, until you had nothing. Time and time again she pulled your strings through your heart, backing you into a corner. Alone. Unable to escape. Without anyone to turn to, anywhere to get away.
When your eyes opened at last, nobody was there to hear you scream.
Years. It took you two whole years to escape her clutches, two years of cruelty hidden behind a veil of love. With only the clothes on your back and some Mora in your pocket, you set off to another nation. There, you found a new home, and a new love. Sweet, caring and warm.
But wounds of the past cannot be hidden forever.
Tumblr media
You push the door behind you, closing it with an accidently loud thud. Eula kicks off her high heels and enters the hall, placing down her bag and taking her jacket off. You put yours on the hanger and move to take hers, but she sends you a sharp look and walks past you, doing it herself.
The silence is tense. You know what you did.
“Honey, listen. I know I shouldn't have started that discussion-” You try to speak, but she turns around and cuts you off.
“Yes, you shouldn't have.”
Her eyes send daggers towards you. Your heart aches at the sight of your lover so full of anger, all because of you. Her family wasn't easy to interact with. Her choice of career made her the pariah of the line, but after she married you, the relations seemingly normalized enough to make them liveable. Seemingly.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn't have. I mustn't do that ever again. I promise I won't.” You raise your open hands, as if showing you're unarmed. What was supposed to calm her down just irritates her.
She scoffs and approaches you. “I say you are an intelligent man, but times like these are when I doubt it. What's so hard to understand in ‘my family isn't normal and the less you interact with them the better’?”
She's right. Eula has told you time and time again that the opinions her father, mother, grandparents, uncles and aunts hold are final. Nothing will change them, they won't ever back down. They are egomaniacal with a tendency to bring those around them down to elevate themselves. And yet, there's something drawing you to them, something natural that tells you that they can be a source of warmth.
Because that's how things are supposed to be. A family should love each other, be united and supportive instead of polarized and hateful. Something in your soul doesn't seem to understand that you can't find any support in her side of the family.
“I know, Eula. I try to-”
“Then your ‘trying’ is not enough!” Her voice elevates further. There is something building in your chest. The pressure crawls from your heart up through your throat, rotting itself inside your neck. A choking feeling.
“Y/N, you shouldn't talk to them! Never, ever. You know how it ends, don't you? They bring you down, they hurt and belittle you. And you know that, don't you?”
Her eyes are narrowed. She speaks louder now, her words coming from a place of compassion and love rather than hostility. Your mind, however, is focused on something else.
Something familiar.
Her tone picks up, and so does your heartbeat. She's almost screaming now.
“Sorry, dear, but are you masochistic? Or just stupid?! I will have vengeance!”
Your hyper focused eyes spot movement. Her hand goes upwards, your chest sinking. Body stiffening, you turn your head down and sideways, exposing your cheek.
Just as she taught you.
Fighting back was pointless.
You deserve it.
You hold your breath.
Silence.
The blow doesn't connect. You hear the sounds of a barefoot step. You crack your eyes open. You see Eula has taken a step back, her eyes wide and mouth slightly agape. She blinks a few times and pulls her hand back towards her body.
“Not t-that kind of vengeance.” Eula barely mumbles the words out in pure confusion. She shakes her head in disbelief, her gaze leaving you and dropping to the floor. “Never. I w-would never-”
You spring back to life, as if a grave threat or danger just vanished.
“No no no, it's alright, honey. I just got a little scared of you, haha. It's fine, really!” You smile sheepishly, shame crawling under your skin. On reflex or out of habit, you rub your cheek. “Maybe I really am stupid, for being scared and all, you know?”
She takes a slow step closer. Her voice is far quieter than mere seconds ago, now down from a scream to a whisper.
“No. Don't call yourself that. My… My emotions got the better of me, honey. I’m sorry.” Eula’s voice composes, worry furrowing her brow as she stretches out her arm towards you, this time taking care to do it slowly. “May I…?”
You smile and nod, letting the palm of her hand connect to your cheek. Her touch is gentle, fingers tracing your skin with utmost care.
Your skin is so soft, so smooth, familiar. Her heart clenches, her mind holding no doubt about your reaction. You are not someone easily scared, nor are you particularly fearful of harm. Something, somebody…
“Who was it?” Her hand trails down smoothly, coming to rest on your shoulder. “Who hurt you?”
You shake your head. “What? What do you mean? Nobody, I’m fine-”
“I said…” She huffs and crosses her arms over her chest. “... who hurt you?”
At an instant, the thoughts in your mind already form into a rebuttal, a measly attempt to cover the truth. But you know better than that. Eula isn't that stupid.
You sigh, trying to figure out what to say. Seeing your hesitation, she places both of her arms on your shoulders, her eyes focusing on yours. Within her beautiful irises fading from deep purple to light yellow you find a steadiness worthy of a captain, but also a lover.
“You don't have to talk about it if it makes you uncomfortable, honey.” She speaks softly, stroking your skin in calming circles. “I just need to know if justice has been served, or some additional, very particular and very severe vengeance needs to be added to my to-do list.”
“My ex-girlfriend is… She’s no longer a threat, alright?” You close the distance between you and Eula and embrace her. Your lover secures her arms around you right away, providing you with just the comfort you seek. “I just don’t want to go back to those days. They’re over and I just want to focus on you… On somebody that actually loves me. Somebody that doesn’t scream at me for no reason, belittles and insults me, and…”
Your voice trails off. Images and sensations rush through your memory. Every insult, every impact weighs on your voice, trapping it beneath the torrent of nightmarish memories. Eua squeezes you tighter.
“Shh. Don’t think about it now, sweetie. You're here, safe in my arms. I promise to be your shield. However…”
Eula's characteristic pout forms on her face.
“For not telling me about this, I will have vengeance.”
“That was a little shameful for me-” She cuts you off.
“Silence. My retribution is nigh. For your transgression, I shall cuddle you and feed you ice cream while subjecting you to the terror of your favorite movie.” She narrows her eyes theatrically before gently, but firmly grabbing a hold of your wrist. “You cannot escape now.”
You smile in horror.
Tumblr media
The screen flashes with a jump scare as a curtain is moved aside. A disfigured monstrosity covered in black goo and rags opens its jaw to reveal a set of sharp, but surprisingly pristine teeth.
“Brains!” Its voice is clearly augmented in some way, deep and a little echoing.
The punk screams at this sight but before he can do anything, the zombie grabs his head with its skeletal hands and bites down. The rest of the group squeals. The man's head is cracked open like an egg, filling the undead's mouth with fake blood and flesh-like props.
“Oh my…” Keqing can't help but gasp a little, her arms tightening around your chest slightly. “That's a lot of jaw force…”
As the zombie digs into the man's brain, a joke comes to your mind.
“He's not going to extract a lot of brain from him, is he?”
In response, Keqing chuckles a little. “Yeah. But at least he is also quite brave. If not for him, that girl would have been the meal instead.”
“True, true.”
The movie continues. The female lead escapes the locker she was trapped in moments ago as her friend is being devoured. Another character throws an empty bucket of paint at the creature, making it fall back, before raising up and exclaiming joyously:
“More brains!”
The kids scream and run away. Keqing, as much as she finds the movie interesting, can't help but recall one scene in particular.
A smirk settles on her delicate features. “So… How's the movie? Do you like it?”
You nod vigorously. “Of course! It's a classic that I wanted to watch for a long time now, but never got around to that. And I can confidently say that I regret not watching it earlier. It's a lot of fun.”
Keqing hums in understanding. Her fingers, one of them brandishing a beautiful and intricate golden ring, slowly move up onto your leg.
“Did you enjoy any scene in particular, honey?” Your eyes follow her hand as it moves up, each finger making a slow, deliberate step.
Just a glance at her slight blush and sly smirk is enough to make you catch on, making your cheeks heat up as well. You gulp.
“Well…” You start, but Keqing places a finger on your lips, silencing you.
“Aw, sweetie~ I know full well how you were eyeing that girl. Your thoughts were betrayed by much more than just your stare.”
Her hands move up, sliding underneath your shirt and caressing your exposed chest. You feel her desire through her movements, careful, seductive, yet impatient at the same time. A little shiver of excitement crawls through your body.
“Honestly, Y/N, I can't blame you. That redhead was quite a beauty, after all. ”
Her hands clench over your body as she rolls to sit on your lap, her eyes, twinkling with desire, pointed right at you. Keqing sends you a wink. Your hands settle on her buttocks.
“But you see, my dear, you got me just a little too jealous to resist showing this handsome guy which girl his attention should be on~” Her hands shift to meet yours, fingers wrapping around your wrists. “So relax and let me have the spotlight~”
Your eyes widen as she hoists your arms off her and pins them to the wall above your head. You try to struggle away, but her grip is iron thanks to the additional strength provided by her Vision. An attempt to release your body from underneath hers fails as well. You're nervous - this never happened before.
“Keqing, you're-” You start to say, but are interrupted by her right hand locking onto your throat.
Your hands clench, eyes growing wide. You choke, any words of protest dying in your restricted windpipe. You look at Keqing, who smiles mischievously, completely oblivious to your discomfort.
“What did I say? Bad boy!” She uses her other hand to pry yours off her choking arm. You relent, shocked and increasingly scared at her sudden roughness. “Now stay still, or you'll regret it~”
Tears form in your eyes as she leans and begins kissing and licking your cheek, adding small bites here and there. You close your eyes, not wanting to see what happens next. The feeling of her genuine affection recalls different images in your mind. The past and the present melt into one in your mind.
As you lay helpless, Keqing continues loving you until her tongue hits an unusual note of salt on your skin. She pulls back and, upon seeing you crying, lets go of you right away. Her hands go to cover her mouth in an expression of pure horror.
“I’m sorry! I’m… Oh Gods, I didn't mean to-!”
You squirm away and, in response, Keqing jumps off of you. She reaches towards you, but ultimately stops herself. Shame, guilt and sadness light up her face, hidden behind her small hands.
You wipe your eyes with your sleeve. By now your senses have returned. Her reaction brought you back at an instant. You get up and approach her.
“Keqing, I'm sorry, nothing-”
You're interrupted as she dashes past you. You can only call out to her as she runs to the bathroom and slams the door behind her. The sound of a lock turning halts your movements.
You sigh and drop back down on the couch. The movie is still playing. Your ears pick up the sounds of soft sobbing from behind the bathroom doors. The heart tells you to get up, to talk to her, to knock down the door if need be, but the brain speaks with reason. She needs time, and you know it. It's better to let her calm down on her own. If you were to approach her now, she likely wouldn't speak to you, let alone open the door.
Tears return to the corners of your eyes. Your heart aches at the sound of her pain. You can tell what she's thinking. That she's awful, dangerous, creepy, abusive. That it's all her fault.
But the truth? She's not the problem. You are.
The TV's noise irritates you. You turn it off and throw the remote across the room. Your head falls into your hands.
How could you have done this to her?
Why can't you just let go?
Why are you so weak?
A shaky sentence manages to make its way out of your lips.
“It's all my fault.”
Deafening silence was all that filled the following hour when her crying died down. You went through every possibility of what would happen when the bathroom door would open. You planned what to tell her and how, you anticipated all of her possible reactions. You knew you couldn't fail again. You couldn't leave her in the dark and risk another incident like this.
She shouldn't suffer because of me, you thought. It was your obligation to be transparent with your wife. Not like you weren't dying to apologize, to comfort her, to let her know it isn't her fault. But you were patient.
When the door finally opened, Keqing looked abysmal. Her make-up was completely gone, first made running with tears, then washed away along with them. Her hair was a mess, not a trace of her usual prim and proper style left. Her eyes were red and barely open.
You spoke gently. You hugged her, asking for a chance to explain yourself. She nodded wordlessly and you sat with her by the table. There, you told her everything. You told Keqing about your previous partner and about exactly what you suffered at her hands. Your wife was very quiet, but still nodded every now and then. From the shakiness of her voice when she spoke the few words in your conversation, you could tell she was stopping herself from bursting into tears again. Nonetheless, you continued until the story was told.
“As such, Keqing, my wife, my love, the sun to my moon, none of what happened is your fault.” You continue, following the script you prepared in your mind. “It was my weakness and my inability to move on that caused all of this in the first place. For that, I’m… sorry. I truly am.”
She nods. Her eyes are focused on her hands, fingers fiddling with each other. Keqing slowly lifts her eyes to meet yours. You spot tears gathering on her features.
“Why… I don't understand…” She starts, but upon realizing her instability, she sniffles and swallows the sadness weighing on her chest. “Why would you ever say that you're weak?”
You sigh. “I should have moved on by now, but instead, I kept it with myself and now it hurt you as well. It is my pain and thus my responsibility to handle it.”
“No, n-no that's… How… How could someone such as you be weak?” She shakes her head. “You survived so much. So much pain, so much fear, so much hurt… And yet here you are, Y/N. Not only trusting another woman, a woman whom you not only married, but also allowed into your bed. I can't imagine myself doing something like that so quickly. You've moved on, honey. You regained the strength to trust and to love again. How can this be called anything but strong?”
You open your mouth to challenge her on this, but she acts first.
Keqing breaches the gap between you and falls into your arms. Her body wraps around yours, holding onto you tightly. One of her hands travels to your cheek.
“Y/N, you're strong. For having endured it, for having moved on, trusted again.”
You drop your gaze. Perhaps she is right. Keqing gently lifts your cheek to direct your attention back at her. She smiles, her tearful eyes shining with boundless affection.
“You're the strongest man I've ever known.”

Collei wanted to scream, she wanted to cry, to yell, her whole world had crumbled in only a few glances, yet she couldn’t. She was struck with both fear and shock, you were her most beloved person in the entirety of Teyvat, you were the only person who had shown her any love in a long while and now..you were just..dead. She could only stare at your body for what felt like hours until she eventually lost consciousness.
Eula clutched your body with all she had, she had to make sure your last moments were ones of peace. She tried her best to contain herself, to ignore her tears, to do everything she could to look strong for you, yet, she couldn’t. She was left as a crying mess as the concept of losing the only person who loved her dawned on her mind.
Again she had lost, again Ei had weeped, again was someone else taken from her, again, she felt hopeless, like she had lost everything she held dear. She wanted to move on, she wished to maintain strong, that’s what you desired, that’s what she promised to you..yet she couldn’t. The pain was too much, the grief overtook her. Again would she retire to her Plane of Euthymia, again would she abandon everyone, again would she despise herself.
Ganyu was afraid, she was scared, terrified of the idea of losing you. She tried everything she could yet nothing worked. The half-Qilin tried every bit of knowledge she had on medicine to try to save you, even those used only by the Adepti, if she could, she’d even give out her life for you. Perhaps it was due to the panic of losing someone again, but during her numerous attempts to extend your life, she hadn’t accepted the fact that you were truly gone.
Kujou Sara was unfortunately experienced in the concept of loss and death so when you approached her with heavy battle wounds, she knew better than to panic. Her pain and grief were incomparable to whatever suffering she had seen before in her life, yet, she kept strong. She didn’t want you to pass in fear or sadness. The moment you died it shattered whatever facade was left in her. She collapsed onto the floor, still clutching your cold body. The mighty Tengu general of the Shogunate was lost..truly destroyed.
The skies were split and thunder roared as The Raiden Shogun weeped to your lifeless body. All semblance of hope..all happiness which she had ever felt in her life vanished as her eyes gazed at the ones which had given her so much with so little in return. No longer would the Shogun hold back against humanity, she would make all who dared harm her beloved pay, none shall be spared. All will suffer for the sake of eternity so no one she held dear would fear again.
Rosaria always acted like she didn’t care, Rosaria always acted like nothing mattered to her, even when she had someone to love, someone who loved her, she still acted with this cold exterior, yet, when she was faced with the news that the most significant person in her life had died every facade she had, every coldness in her heart, they were crushed as a sense of hopelessness would crush her like a boulder. Never again would that be a facade, after you had died, after she was left alone once more, that coldness overtook her heart and no amount of warmth could heat it ever again.
The Anemo Archon Venti would hold you on his lap as you slowly passed away, even in your last moments, his love was there to comfort you. Even after you were gone, he would not leave this position, even when you were buried, even when everyone thought you had died alone, even when everyone thought you two hadn’t even spoken to eachother, he would always be present in the place of your passing. Every night, every month, every year, he would sit there for hours at a time, drinking away as he talked to himself in only praises of yourself.
The Wanderer felt different, he was the creation of a god, mortals were below him, none were equal to him, he was above every single one of those worms, yet, there was one of those so called “worms” that for a single moment, for a brief second, could make him believe he was only a human, that he could feel happy, he could feel everything those he called below him could feel. There was only one person who could make him happy, only one person who could help him forget about his betrayals yet even them suffered, even them were hunted down due to his past, even them suffered because of him. Some would say, that the Wanderer, after so long, would return to who he was, even for a single minute, would enjoy murder once more.
He knew it would happen, a karmic debt was placed on Xiao a long time ago, he knew it, he knew that those around him would suffer because of it, but even then, the mighty conqueror of demons could also fall prey to the enticing and intoxicating love he used to think he was undeserving of. His more rational side was prepared for such an occurrence, of losing his most loved one yet deep down, he knew he wasn’t, he knew the moment you were at the brink of death, he would sacrifice his own to keep you safe..but he was too late, you were dead before he could heal you, before he could save you. Never before had the Yaksha felt such deep hatred, such unfeeling rage, so much was it that when he was done with his vengeance, when he had bathed in blood in the name of love, he felt nothing but a consuming sense of hollowness.
Zhongli grasped your hand with all the softness and grace he could have. He had a rather long talk with you, reminiscing about the fond times you two had, the love you shared, the pain and the happiness you had shared. He knew it would come to this, he knew that this would happen eventually. You were a mortal, a mere human, he was an archon, a god. Once you were gone, once time finally caught up with you, he couldn’t help but to shed a tear. Once again, none who would share his memories, once again, another loved one had been hit with time. Some could say that from that day, the enigmatic consultant of the Wangsheng funeral parlor seemed more distant, more cold, even.

i still love you.
feat. | diluc, yoimiya, eula, and xiao! summary | getting back together after a breakup. you love each other. author's note: it was very painful to write this very painful fic. enjoy! also idk if xiao actually smiles.. but i took a leap. and so now he smiles.
diluc ragnvindr |
maybe he hung around after to see if you still loved him. maybe he, despite your cutting words, still loved you. maybe he went to sleep thinking of your soft smile and gentle touch. and maybe, just maybe, he hoped you’d come back to him.
your breakup destroys diluc. he’s still in love, hanging on to his shredded memories of you. he longs to kiss you, hold you, be with you. and yet you’d left, weeks ago, months ago, how long was it? time blurs together when you’re not there, and he feels almost weightless.
ha! weightless. as though such a word could be used to describe a man whose heart had just been torn out of his chest and lain on the ground, bleeding raw and bare. he sometimes—no, always—thought about you, and was so out of it that he rarely bartended at the tavern anymore. he hid away in the dawn winery. he wants to see you—he wants you to love him again, love him like he loved (no, loves) you.
adelaide worries about his many weeks spent pining away in front of the fire, drinking tea and staring morosely into the flickering flames. he's always been broody, angsty, mopey, but after he met you, he perked up. he started growing flowers in little beds (after you nagging him) and he started wearing other clothes. honestly. he'd do anything to see you right now.
and his wish is granted one cold winter afternoon, when he opens the door to see you on the other side. his broken heart repairs itself at the sight of you, freezing, smiling apologetically at him. “i love you—“ the two of you start together, and he doesn’t even give you a pause before he pulls you into a kiss.
naganohara yoimiya |
she misses you with an ache so fierce her sunshine dims. her father comments on her dullness and she forces a laugh. she’s no longer chipper, no longer soft and sweet. instead, she’s hard edges and short tempers and quiet cries in the dark.
yoimiya thinks about you every day. while lighting a firework fuse. while staying up late at night. her thoughts are plagued by you and you only. she can’t bring herself to forget you, the magical person who dove in and made her feel truly, truly joyful. who made her feel like she wasn't too much.
she watches the fireworks on amakane island, remembering when you sat with her. and yet the thought stings so much, she bites her lip hard to keep from crying. what happened to her? she used to laugh everywhere she went, spreading light and warmth. you'd called her the sparkle of my eye. when she'd blushed and laughed, you had thrown your arms around her and kissed her full on the mouth.
now, she needs you. she needs you to bring back that light. that sparkle.
her chest aching, she leans forward and closes her eyes, her fingertips brushing a slip of paper. she raises it to her eyes. on it, four words are written in a scrawl she’s recognize anywhere.
i still love you.
she sniffles, the tears streaming freely down her face. when were you here last? to write her a note, but to not see you? could you be that selfish? why leave a note when you could see her in person? she tears up the note, her fingers shaking, anger seeping through the sadness. well, fine. if you didn't want to see her, so be it. she would raise her head and--
a shuffle behind her causes her head to snap up and glance behind her. it’s you, holding up a sheet of paper. she barely takes time to read it before throwing herself into your arms and sobbing into your shoulder. do you still love me?
“yes,” she whispers into your ear, her sobs hiccuping into laughter.
xiao |
xiao tells himself that he doesn’t hurt. he tells the same thing to anyone who asks; i’m fine. i’ve been over yn for so long now, it’s a thing of the past. he’ll force a laugh, but when he’s alone, sorrow drags his heart down so far it’s a wonder he manages to live still.
your leaving xiao tore him to shreds and pasted him together, some pieces missing and some in different spots. he wants to find you again. he wants you to call his name. often, he finds himself looking at the top of wangshu inn, searching for your silhouette, your voice, your words. your words were always so pretty. you had the loveliest way of describing the most trivial of things. the rain patters like my thoughts--always moving, always whirling, always there. but dissolving into the background sometimes, you'd written once. and then he'd known that he was deep in love.
maybe he’s too clingy. maybe all he deserves is this eternal suffering. karma, he thinks bitterly. he never deserved you. your sweet words, snarky wit and whip-fast intellect. your beautiful love.
whenever he started doubting himself like this, you’d sit on his lap and furiously tell him all the things you loved about him. by the end, he was smiling and you were laughing. you always said his smiles were as rare as a double rainbow; they were rarely there, but when they were, they took your breath away. his smile lopsided and crooked, his eye crinkling. it looked so out-of-place on his usually solemn features that you couldn't help but laugh, without fail.
thinking about that feels like a stab to the chest. he inhales painfully and turns away from the top of wangshu inn—but not before spotting a familiar silhouette.
he could recognize you from anywhere, and hoists himself easily onto the roof. you turn towards him. “xiao,” you whisper, and he smiles a double-rainbow smile.
eula lawrence |
eula pretends that she does not care. who cares if you've left her? the one true love of her life? better to be the one in power, she decides, and not to cry over you again. she throws herself into dancing more fervently than before, whispering to herself vengeance will be had for your breakup.
eula dances with a ferocity that sends everyone reeling into shock. is she... angry? people wonder. her anger plus her love for you plus her hurt turns her dances sharp like ice, dangerous like lightning. she's as graceful as a swan, light as a feather. she's quiet and angrier when she speaks and when people bring you up, she cuts them off with a dangerous look and a whispered threat of vengeance.
she remembers how you'd tell her how gorgeous she looked before the performance, and after, only compliments would spill from your mouth. she remembers blushing and smiling so hard her cheeks ached along with her feet, and she remembers you carrying her bridal-style to your bed. she remembers how you'd always make her tea and sit with her until she fell asleep.
thinking about such things, she scolds herself, is not right. she spins into a turn and for a second, thinks she can see your face in the crowd. but why would it be you? you left her after she broke up with you (maybe a valid reason, but does it matter? you left).
coming out of her turns, she spots you again. this time, there's no doubt. you smile at her and she rapidly ends her dance, rushing towards you. you race into her arms and she twirls the two of you around. "i love you so much," you whisper.
"i am so mad at you for leaving," she hisses. "but i love you too." and she yanks you back towards her.

broken down aether
this came in as an intrusive thought while i was rereading my horny aether drabble and now i’m upset abt it.
this is gonna be pretty short since the thought came and left, like when you think of what you could have for dinner at like 9am ⭐️
Tumblr media
broken down aether, screaming at all the knights, shouting right at Jean for her disgustingly pathetic attempts at helping him find his sister.
broken down aether who immediately starts arguing with Lisa when she interjects, saying how all she did was give drawn out sympathy toward him and his situation
broken down aether, making Amber cry when she tried to calm him down, screaming at how pointless her role in the knights of favonius was.
broken down aether who stormed out in a huff, shouting obscenities at Albedo, Eula and Kaeya as they tried to convince him to stay, with Klee peeking out from Albedo’s workshop with Sucrose.
broken down aether who bumped right into you once he left the buliding, the two of you ending up on the floor and the sticky honey roast you had now ruined; you began to complain and he almost shouted at you but..
broken down aether paused… looking at you and realizing how much he just yelled and argued, how tired he was, how much his head hurt, how bad this throat hurt, how soft your thighs were, how you’d be a perfect pillow, just for a moment..
broken down aether who’s now laid out on your dress, making you panic and pull him toward you.
broken down aether who buries his face into your chest, sobbing uncontrollably about his situation, how much he wants to leave, how much he wanted his sister, how sorry he was.
broken down aether apologizing to everyone for his actions, being immediately forgiven and taken care of for his clear mental breakdown.
broken down aether finding himself on a soft cushioned blanket with you by his side, something you never failed to do and somewhere you never failed to be.
broken down aether, wiping the semi-dried tears from his face and kissing you for an apology, swearing that he’d make you another sticky honey roast

Their unsent letters
they choose to leave their imprints of their lost love in ink
(Shenhe, Eula, Lisa, Yoimiya, gn reader)
Angst, major character death/ implied mentions of death, self hatred
Playing : Bishounen by Hikaru Station
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shenhe<
“[____],
     I want to thank you. For what? You may ask.
I’d like to thank you for “loving me”, as you phrased it. For letting me to love you back. I’m not familiar with human emotions, but you made me realize I could feel. I could feel beyond the restraints of the red ropes I was bound by for many years. I could feel my heart pounding, a lukewarm, soft, feeling that could never match the rhythm of my racing in battle when I faced Beisht or any other creature.
I don’t want to lose you. Yet here I am, letting tears fall, a sign of hopeless vulnerability, as my master would say. Yet here I am, aimlessly writing letters to an individual so dear to me, lost forever in the folds of time and everlasting frost. Yet here I am, weeping in the shade of the willow tree, piecing shattered fragments of my heart together.”
Goodbye forever,
Shenhe.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eula<
“Treasured,”
“I am sorry. Sorry for all the times I was such a horrible partner I was to you, dearest. And yet now, here, I still thought I deserved to look into those gorgeous eyes every morning, was worthy of anything you gave me. I was such a fool. I was such a foolishly foolish fool for thinking I was good enough for you. I’m so sorry I dragged you into all this clan business, I’m so sorry for letting you go with me. I can never make up for what I’ve done.
Because if not for me, whose’s fault is it that you, the light of my life, the one who helped me cleanse my wounds with love and care that I never was worthy of, the only one that didn’t view me as a member of the Lawrence clan alone, is dead?
Treasured, I will love you forever. Allow me to say this.
Vengeance is futile, as the last one who loved me has perished.
Forgive me,
Eula.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lisa<
“Darling,”
          “Life is like an hourglass. There is only so much we can do in this hourglassed fate, and before the last grain of sand left in me trickles away, I’d like to entrust my final words to you.
Darling, I wouldn’t miss this hourglassed life for anything. I met you. I’ve loved a great many people, but no other can compare to you. From the lust I saw from others, to the genuine, raw, love that you showed me, is a new insight of life. Even though I am invisible to you now, I am always still here. From the books we stacked together, the memories we made, the shade of violet I dressed in, me.
My soul will remain with you, accompanying your journey along the hourglass-paved road.  I can only hope that you remember me, little old Lisa Minci. I will forever love you to the moon and back, even after the cruel fate of death.
My final wish is to hope you,[____], do not cry. I’d like to hear your laugh for the last time.
Dearly betrothed,
Lisa.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yoimiya<
“[_____],
I’m not that good at that kind of word stuff but…
Hey. Hi. Hello. I love you. I love you more than the delicious food I’ve been blessed to be able to eat every day, I love you more than the archery skills I’ve been granted. I love you more than the brightly-lit color of my vision. I love you more than the sparks of fireworks glistening in the fireworks in the night sky. I love you more than anything else in the world.
There were many reasons to why I loved you. Well, you loved me for who I was and not just as “firework girl down the street”. Your smile. Your eyes. The amazing way you kissed me on that night, like the first touch of something magical, wondrous. A new spark of a flame that was supposed to never burn out. Everything about you seemed so perfect, so right. Like a puzzle piece falling into place.
But now, I can only hope to relive that beautiful experience in another life, as you are in my arms, blood pouring from your wounds, tears streaming down your face, the cold touch of your body that was once warm and inviting-
I cannot save you. The feeling is worse than failing a firework, more crestfallen than raining on testing day, more bitter than eating sour apples, the worst, most godforsakenly awful mix of sadness, regret, hurt, disappoint mixed into one giant mess of emotions.
I’m sorry I wasn’t always the happy Yoimiya that you loved, but I loved you more than hating myself. And that’s what caused all this. But I would always have loved you, even if it meant the world exploded into smithereens.
Because, what good is a world if the thing I loved most is gone?
I want you back,
Yoimiya.”

Requests? 👀 hows about 39. "you left me for dead!" With our dear calvary captain? Love Kaeya angst 😔 ❤️
Let's make this painful both physically and emotionally hehe, gender neutral reader
You had joined the knights because you were bored with your usual job. Dealing with the same problems gave you nothing stimulating.
And at first, you found yourself insecure due to being older than most recruits who had been straight out of school, having the advantage of knowing what they were to expect.
Your insecurities were squashed by the Cavalry Captain. A handsome man, although you wouldn't say it out loud, as well as a man who could hold conversation.
Most of all, he helped you figure out how to fight.
It was inevitable that you caught feelings, but the fact they didn't simply fizzle out after a while concerned you. You had to be careful to not look for too long, becoming visibly enamored if you weren't careful.
Months pass, and you become a certified knight. Your first assigned task was to take down a lawlachurl with the assistance of the man himself.
In your mind, it was going to be great! You had an idea on confessing your feelings after completing the job. You were so sure he had the same feelings for you based on how he looked at you, and how he seemed to talk differently around you.
--
But then it all went wrong.
You hadn't expected this lawlachurl to be very strong, and you ran in without thinking. Kaeya jogs in casually, smiling as he watched your enthusiasm as you prepare to take down the enemy.
Only to see you fall into a hole, a booby trap of sorts. The lawlachurl jumps down with you, and when Kaeya hears no sign of a struggle, he begins to consider his actions.
He didn't take long to walk back to the headquarters, explaining you had gone "missing".
You're stuck in a dimly lit area with this lawlachurl that was breathing down your neck, seemingly not realising where you were. You lump towards the other side, deciding to maintain distance before you prepare to fight again.
The lawlachurl walks to the center of the room, sitting by the campfire that allows the light, before it pauses, looking over at you. Waving you over, you realise it's most likely not going to attack you. Again, you slowly make it over to the campfire, taking a seat as the lawlachurl takes a look at your bag.
Realising it was hungry, you nod before cooking a meal. Before it's done, however, you put in a poisonous ingredient, insisting you simply were not hungry. Yes, it was being nice now, but who's to say it wouldn't just kill you after getting your value used up? Besides, explaining to the acting grandmaster you had gained the alliance of a lawlachurl you were tasked to hunt down was not going to go down well.
The lawlachurl falls down unceremoniously after gulping down the dinner you prepared, at least falling asleep instead of having a more gruesome death. Looking down at your leg, you realise you forgot to pack some bandages.
So, when you hear footsteps, you're expecting it to be Amber or perhaps one of the newly graduated knights. You call up, seeing if you could alert them to the hole, and you hear them walk closer to where you were situated. You see a familiar head peer down, and you're surprised to see Eula.
You assess the room for a few moments, before you find yourself falling tired. Crafting a reasonable sleeping area, you fall asleep. After waking up, you sit and reflect on your feelings for Kaeya. When you think more logically about his actions, you realise that he didn't talk differently to you. You had just orchestrated a love story in your head, and he knew it. He played with your heart for his own sake, it was clear when he didn't even try and get help for you.
The next few days, you count when the sun rises and sets. Knowing the knights patrol in the area weekly, you knew they would hear you when they were due to be there.
"Hello!" You begin out of relief, clearing your throat and beginning to rehearse your speech. Bowing down to show your respect, you start to weave a web of words.
"Oh Miss Eula Lawrence of the Lawrence clan, I ask of you to assist me, a lowly knight, out of this predicament I have foolishly landed myself into."
Silence.
Then a soft chuckle.
"Very well." Eula begins to respond, looking around to find someone to haul you up. She runs off, getting an old rope swing that had a decent rope on it and giving you a heads up before throwing it to you. You get onto the swing, and you get hauled up, only to see Eula had waved Amber over for extra help.
"I'm so glad you're okay!" Amber hugs you, you nodding slowly before hearing Eula clear her throat.
"I must thank you earnestly for your support on this sunkissed morning." You tell Eula, only for Amber to burst out laughing, lightly encouraging the both of you to walk with her.
"Come, let's get you recovered. Surely you must be exhausted!"
--
A checkup later from Barbara, along with a lecture on how silly you were to run in without strategizing, you had to report to the acting grandmaster.
While she was unimpressed that you acted in a similar fashion to Kaeya, she asks you to explain how you managed to defeat the lawlachurl without your usual strength.
"...The lawlachurl became docile after falling down." You start. "It sat by the fire, waving me over. Knowing it was my best chance, I poisoned it." You finish, expecting Jean to tell you off for wasting resources on an enemy.
She nods, becoming relieved that you had used more logic when taking down the enemy successfully.
"On the days I was down the hole -oh! Let me mark where it is so people will be wary of it." You cut yourself off, pulling out your map and marking a circle in the area. "I reflected on my actions, and I realised I do not have the necessary skills to take on these commissions alone."
"I am glad to hear that." Jean begins, taking the map and copying the spot. "I want you to nourish yourself fully before you can work." You nod, hoping to just go by yourself and get the sleep you wanted more than the food you knew you probably needed to get more. "And I want Amber to monitor this."
Admitting defeat, you nod, knowing this was for the best.
--
The next few days, Amber and Eula make it their job to ensure you aren't pushing yourself. You haven't seen Kaeya around at all, which you were relieved of, and you agree with the others when they say you've recovered enough to get back to work. After a report to Jean, the three of you decide to celebrate you returning to work by drinks.
That's where you see Kaeya again. Figures, the alcoholic would be here. It's where he usually would be if you were looking for him.
A few minutes after you sit down with your drinks, you hear him approach you.
"I'm so glad to see you again, recruit." Kaeya purrs, expecting to flirt more with you. When you grunt out a 'yeah', however, he's not as relaxed.
"I have to discuss something private with you." He gestures for you to follow. He hopes you think it's a confession, he loves seeing you flustered. The way you choke on your words, looking away bashfully. It's so cute to him.
You follow him, not giving him the attention he wants. After he closes the door to the balcony, he turns to you.
"What's got you down, doll?" He smirks playfully, resting a hand on his cheek. You give him an unimpressed look, and he can't seem to realise what he did to hurt you. "C'mon, I can't read your mind. Don't be shy, tell me."
You continue your blank look, and you can only say one thing to him before walking away.
"You left me for dead."

Unrequited love
characters: Eula/Ganyu/Ayaka x gn!reader (seperate)
warnings: angst, rejection, unrequited love
a/n: I got this weird urge to write something like this, so I did... in school, during our long break. So if this fic has more mistakes than my usual ones, that would probably be the reason.
Anyway, hope you enjoy!
Eula
Eula liked your best friend. It was the only reason why the two of you even started hanging out with each other, in a moment of sheer panic, after finding out about her crush and getting scared of her talk about vengeance, you had promised to help her. But what you hadn’t expected at the beginning, was that you would eventually start glancing at her the same way she looked at them. And while the two of you had grown incredible close to each other, it was clear that she still saw you as nothing more than a friend.
But you had to confess nonetheless, you weren’t sure if you would ever be able to move on if you didn’t, but more importantly, you had to do it before she managed to ask your friend out or else your feelings would cause them even more difficulties. And so, you asked Eula to meet you in private. She accepted without hesitation, probably thinking it was nothing more than another meeting between friends, but when she arrived, any you saw the unusual big smile on her lips, you knew that you were too late.
“Did you confess?”, you asked, trying to act as normal as usual, but when you saw her nod, you felt the sinking feeling in your chest you had grown quite accustomed to, only much worse.
“I have to thank you. You didn’t know anything good about me, but still kept your promise. I will have my vengeance for that because a Lawrence always pays their debts”, even though her words were the same as usual, her tone betrayed how grateful she felt, and while there was a cruel part in you, that had hoped she’d get rejected so you might have had the slightest chance, you would still try your best to be happy for her.
“No need to, if I had to travel back in time, I would make that promise, thank you for being my friend”, it was the truth, you may have a crush on her that wouldn’t be reciprocated, but she was still your friend and while you knew that moving on would be hard, you were still happy to have her by your side.
Ganyu
Meeting you was something Ganyu never regretted, whenever she felt bad about herself you would do your best to cheer her up, was it by telling her stupid stories that never failed to bring a smile on her face or through genuine compliments. And when she overworked herself, you either made sure she would take her breaks or spent time in her office, just talking with her and bringing her something to eat and drink every now and then. And before long, just the thought of seeing you was enough to make her feel motivated enough to get through the day.
But while she was too busy to fall in love with you, she didn’t notice how you seemed to go through the same process for Keqing. Sure, you started talking about her more and more often whenever you two spent time together, but it was probably nothing more than the two of you becoming friends, so she still had a chance… right?
Ganyu had a hard time finding the confidence to finally ask you out, but after Cloud retainer wouldn’t stop talking about how she should try to focus less on work once and actually try living her life, she became determined to finally do so.
You had been waiting at the spot Ganyu asked you to meet her, for a few minutes. At this point you were starting to get a bit worried, normally she would arrive much earlier so to not let you wait, so her coming late could only mean that something stopped her. But just as you were about to start looking around for her, you saw her hastily approach you while mumbling something to herself. You immediately waved her, only to see the bouquet of flowers in her hand, causing you to get a bad feeling about what was to come.
“I’m sorry, I wanted to buy something, but it took me way longer than expected. I hope you didn’t wait for too long”, she began apologising, only for you to quickly try to calm her down.
“Don’t worry about it, I just arrived a few minutes ago”, you answered, only for your eyes to wander back to the flowers in her hand. “…so, why did you ask me to meet you here? If you wanted to hang out, we could have done so at either of our places”, you asked, only for her to immediately get nervous again.
“I- I, uhm, wanted to ask you if you wanted to-”, Ganyu began stuttering, not managing to form a single coherent sentence, and while you usually found her embarrassed behaviour cute, her nervousness coupled with the flowers made it almost too obvious what her reason to meet you was.
“I like Keqing”, you stated, not wanting to force her to go through the whole process of painfully piecing together a confession, only to get rejected, nonetheless. You immediately felt a wave of guilt wash over you the moment you saw a mix of disappointment and shame settle down on Ganyu’s face before she began looking at her feet.
“Oh. W-well, sorry to bother you then”, her voice made it clear how much she was battling the urge to cry, but when you called out her name, naively hoping to cheer her up the way you always did, she took a step back before trying to force a smile on her face. “I hope she feels the same, I really do. But I need time for me alone. Have a great day.”
Ayaka
Ayaka didn’t have too many friends, so when she met you, someone not intimidated by her seemingly perfectness and someone that wasn’t disappointed, once they found out that she was far from it, she felt the happiest in a long time. When you spent time with her and made her day less stressful simply by doing so, she couldn’t help but fall in love with you. And when you told her about your crush on Yoimiya, she was crushed. But she tried hiding her emotions, not wanting you to feel guilty about something you weren’t responsible for, she knew exactly that you would once you found out, you were a compassionate person who always got lead by their emotions, so it wasn’t something she could do to you.
No matter how much it hurt her, she tried her best to help you prepare for you confession. Ayaka helped you recite the things you wanted to say to the firework maker, even though she wished you would say those words to her, outside of training. But it was your emotions and your decision, and so she would help you as much as she could and she would pray for your happiness, no matter how much it hurt herself.
And here you were now, trying your best to make the tears stop leaking from your eyes after getting rejected. Ayaka had thrown her arms around your neck before pulling you close to her when you came into the room with red eyes, thinking it would be the best way to comfort you, but the position you two now found yourself in filled her with nothing more than shame. No matter how much she prayed that your feelings would be returned, there always was a part of her praying for the opposite. She was a terrible friend, you did nothing but good things for her, and here she was, repaying you by having a part of her be happy about your rejection.
Whatever happiness flamed up in her got overshadowed by her disgust for it, but that didn’t change the fact of it being there. But no matter how she felt about you, she would do her best to try and cheer you up. She wouldn’t confess, not while you were heartbroken. Maybe, once you felt better and forgot all about it, she would bring her own feelings up, all of them, the good and the bad. And maybe you would forgive her for it.

Parenting Headcannons with Keqing and Eula? :D
Parent Headcanons - Eula Lawrence and Keqing
A/N: Hi Anon! I'm sorry you had to wait. This one... well, it turned out quite a bit more serious than I expected. Especially with Keqing - it turned into (basically) angst. I'm sorry if you don't like it. I would be really grateful if you shared your opinion in the comments.
Male reader.
Tumblr media
Eula Lawrence
Eula’s parents were… not great, to say the least. They kept pushing her towards being a traditional figure, dictated by the Lawrence clan’s long legacy. That involved plenty of indoctrination, gaslighting and putting down her own needs and dreams.
She realized this was not normal in her late teens, and she made her escape to the Knights. Even though most citizens of Mondstadt grew to dislike her, Eula found a few close friends to help her through her darkest years. You were one of them.
The desire to be better than one’s parents is natural and ever present, as role models are quite rare in reality. This need was especially strong in her. It was the image of having kids that kept her from leaving this world behind, and when you met all those years ago, the images reappeared in her happiest moments.
Eula made plans long before you met, imagining what rules she would put in place, what values she should instill, she read books about motherhood and parenting. Yet she never told you, until one warm night.
She grabbed your hand, and told you about her dream while looking into your eyes. She said how she wants to be the mother her mother never was, and you to be the father hers never managed to be. She told you about her dream of building a home together, a safe place for both you and your children.
And how could you refuse her?
Eula will want to wait for marriage before anything else.
When she speaks that one, simple word, Eula will just burst into tears. Just like that, the weight and past sins of her last name will be finally left behind, and she could fully become a new, better person.
A few days will pass until she’s ready. Eula just wants to wait until everything calms down, really. And it will be a surprise too. You’ll just wake up one lazy morning, cuddled together, and she will whisper a simple ‘It’s time’ into your ear.
Eula is going to drop field work entirely from the moment you are sure she’s carrying an heir. When Varka comes back from his travels, he will most likely provide Eula with a comfy desk job. She’s done a lot for Mondstadt, hasn’t she? Eula deserves it.
No drinks will be had for the entire duration of her pregnancy, which will be quite long.
Because Eula always wanted to have two children, preferably a son and a daughter. As soon as her body will recover after giving birth Eula will want to go again, to keep the age gap as small as possible. If she’ll give birth to two kids at the same time there won’t be a need to, of course.
Eula always insisted on doing all the menial housework, which bamboozled you at first. She just wanted to get lots of practice in cooking, cleaning, doing laundry and so on, as her royal upbringing never gave her the chance to. The woman is well aware of the reality of parenthood, and wishes to get used to the routine.
It’s hard for sure, but she is willing to endure the difficulty. This is one investment worth every second, every drop of sweat and blood in her opinion.
Seeing Eula with dark bags under her eyes and a tired smile on her lips will be common during the early years.
The knight will pester you about your job a lot if it involves danger. She quit hers, and would love you to do so as well. If combat is your calling… Well, she understands. Doesn’t mean that you won’t get an earful and a half every time you get back with fresh injuries. She will have her vengeance for every single scratch you get on yourself!
Ever since her work hours shortened dramatically, Eula gets to be home a lot more. She will gladly welcome you home after work with a warm meal and lots of cuddles.
Don’t think you will be neglected because of the kids. Your wife will make sure to give attention to you as well.
Oh, and about attention. Eula is a good mother, maybe even too good. See, she’ll hog most of the quality time with your kids, at least when they will be young. It’s usually a competition between you two over who gets to go out with the little ones.
Who would expect a bottomless supply of patience from her? She’ll spend 16 hours a day with her offspring and she will love it.
Eula is a very caring mom, but she sometimes struggles with correcting bad behaviors and administering punishment. So yeah. You’ll get to do the unpleasant work.
She will ingrain only universal qualities and morals into her kids, making sure to teach them that the sins of those who came before don’t cross out the person of today.
Will not influence the careers her kids will pursue, but will help wherever she can.
Just… be by her side when they grow up and leave to chase their own ambitions. She will feel very lonely if you don’t.
10/10, no doubt. Always wanted to have kids, and prepared accordingly. She will raise some great individuals with your help.

Keqing
Keqing has three goals in life. First - and foremost - to build a strong, independent and prosperous Liyue Harbor. Second - to find a partner, and third - to start a family.
Well, she had three. Now, only the first one remains. The young Keqing is not the same woman as the Keqing of today. She had grown immensely, but in a troublesome direction.
You see, Keqing’s dreams are… not actually hers. They never were. It all comes down to her upbringing.
Keqing is a part of Liyue nobility, who have strict values and goals. From her earliest days, those objectives and desires were imprinted on her mind. Everything she did was centered around the execution of them, not leaving much space for her own aspirations. Well, no time was left for it either - she was constantly snowed under assignments, tests, meetings and internships. She always had to prove herself, prove that she is indeed worthy of her family name.
And so, her dream of having a family faded and faded, until nothing of the motivation was left. Like with every childhood dream she had.
All of that pressure also resulted in her problems with interpersonal relations. Focused around achieving her ‘own’ goals, she saw (and still sees) others as elements of the background, coworkers or useful tools and assets in reaching her objectives. Keqing has become selfish. Self-centered. Egoistic.
For example: People say Ganyu’s mindset is hard to understand, but that’s a nifty little lie to hide the severe lack of compassion and basic empathy for her among others in Liyue. Keqing may have had a hand in propagating this statement. Independent of what Ganyu sees Keqing as, the former will never see the secretary as anything else than an inferior at whom she can throw more and more assignments.
You may have reawakened her dream from ancient times, when she still used to play with dolls. But Keqing has adopted a specific mindset throughout her life, and that will make pregnancy and child upbringing only another box on her checklist.
She won’t give up her work, or even limit it for that matter. Her job is more important than family and you, so she’ll agree to a single child at most. And that will be also on the condition you will take care of them.
She’s the mother that’s never home for sure. Also, a scary one at that.
Will reprimand her kid, whatever the sex may be, for bad grades.
Keqing will not understand many struggles someone not like herself may have, such as depression or lack of motivation. It all makes sense in her head - why don’t they work harder? They see how they can end up, right on the streets and outside of Liyue Harbor. Treasure Hoarders, Fatui, beggars and bums. She thinks her child will become just that if they don’t ace all the classes.
She speaks about this kind of thing often. Why? Because her parents told her the same when she was this age. Many of the awful parenting techniques she was subjected to will creep their way into her own methods.
Literally the asian parent. She has lots and lots of cash on hand thanks to her job, and she puts an adequate amount of this into the education of her young. Piano lessons, private tutors and martial arts - everything will be covered in this investement. What a shame she doesn’t put an equal amount of effort into this deal.
She will help the kid with school work, but that’s about it.
Ningguang will surely notice what’s going on between you two, and will mercilessly point it out to Keqing. Maybe with your combined efforts, the woman will be able to change for the better.
But that chance is quite low.
2/10. Keqing isn’t meant to be a mother. Keqing doesn’t want to be a mother. Not anymore, at least. She is too busy chasing somebody's dream for motherhood.

Prologue: A Strange Feeling - [1]
◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆
A hot day, birds chirping, what a peaceful day, correct? At least, that's what everyone else would say, but you? Absolutely not. There was this annoying sense you had that just wouldn't go away. It was bothering you so much--like one of those itches that you couldn't find no matter how hard you looked. That kind of bother.
Something you couldn't exactly put your finger on, and you've tried to since you got out of bed this morning. It's left you so paranoid that you've been doing things you normally wouldn't. Like checking your bag multiple times to make sure you haven't forgotten anything, looking around just to make sure your not being watched, so on...
It was lunch time, and this feeling certainly hasn't let you have an appetite. In fact, your friend has even noticed that your food was still left untouched.
"Hey, [name]?" Xiangling waved her hand in front of your face, snapping you out of your inner thoughts. Her face was plastered with a concerned expression.
"Are you feeling okay? You usually have your food finished by now and lunch is almost over." She continues.
Realizing that you've worried her, you muster up your most convincing smile. "Don't worry Xiangling! I'm doing just fine. Just a strange feeling..." You grab your fork and take a bite of the food in front of you, hoping to make your act more convincing.
"A strange feeling, like what?" Her concerned expression shifts over to one of curiousity. Xiangling places her silverware back on the table and turns her complete attention to you.
"I can't put my finger on it, but it's been bothering me all day." You sigh. Seeing your discouragement, Xiangling pats you on your back, "Hey, it'll be alright. I hope whatever you're feeling goes away soon." As she said that, the bell rang throughout the cafeteria.
You and Xiangling say goodbye to one another and go your seperate ways
...
For the rest of the day, you've tried to ignore the feeling that bubbled in the pit of your stomach. It was hard, but somehow you managed to make it through the day.
Now, all that's left was to get home. Since you walked to school, you always carried a pocket knife and some pepper spray on your bag. It didn't matter who you were, there was always some form of threat that could leave you endanger, especially at night time.
On your way home, that strange feeling came back, but this time it was quite uncomfortable. For the first ten minutes, there was nothing of note. The streets had few people on them, the number was countable on two hands.
That's when you heard a scream. It was like the person was screaming bloody murder. There was silence for a few seconds, and then more screams. The whole street had turned into a havoc of utter chaos.
"Zombies, zombies I tell you!" When you turned to look behind you, you saw hoards and hoards of zombies flooding into the streets.
Your fight or flight instincts kicking in, you ran home, trying to sneak through the hoards of malicious and hideous zombies. Internally going over your options...

| Draft for something I want to write on Wattpad, lemme know what you think! |
The following will include angst.
The two women had a firm clasp on each other, spinning each other around effortlessly as if there was no one else in the world, just the two of them, eyes interlocked.
' You've gotten better Amber. ' the Lawrence girl said with a smirk, her companion's eyes lit up, a wide grin forming on her face.
These moments were so worth the trouble the two girls had to go through in order to be able to see each other, a love like their's was deemed unacceptable by society. Amber wanted so badly to tell people to mind their business, but she couldn't, it would cause problems for Eula.
So, the two enjoyed the moment, eyes interlocked, looking at each other in a way only lover's would. Too deep into the moment the two shared a quick, yet loving, kiss.
' Eula what are you doing!' The two women froze, Eula's arms slid off of Amber's shoulders as she was met by the cruel, hateful, gaze of her father.
' We're simply dancing father.' Her voice had an obvious tone of fear in it, but she kept her demeanor as calm as possible. The cruel man stepped forward and slapped the young woman across her face, which was sure to leave a mark.
It stung, but not as badly as her heart not realizing the most likely outcome for this. She would never be able to see Amber again.

genshin au asks you say…….
heehee what if nbd actually got /got/ by signora :) wonder if that would change the dynamics between descendants and venti 🤔?
also for some reason i keep imagining diluc’s fursona is a horse
OHOHOHO
Also I don't know if we've actually told the public about what happens with signora afsgags
Okay some context setting: so when the cast encounters signora in RF nbd is there too. And since his family's whole thing is sharing a face with the anemo archon we thought it'd be funny if they did a little unintentional switcheroo with the two 😁
Signora can't tell who's the archon so she ends up targeting nbd because he runs his mouth more lol. And even if she's wrong, targeting someone from a family favoured by the god would surely draw him out (it does)
Now onto the thoughts!
Man if Venti wasn't fast enough and signora *got* got him,,,, Well for one Venti would be devastated. And nbd is the youngest of the descendants (around 17 as of now?), even younger than NB was towards the end of the rebellion. So I imagine that the other descendants would be somewhat doting and protective of the guy at times (not to mention his unspecified number of biological siblings) they would probably not take any of this well.
Though in this case the blame would likely go to signora first and foremost (rag d, who also lost his dad to the fatui: Maybe I will follow that diluc fellow and go on a fatui killing spree after all-) I can see the political relations between mond and the fatui straining even more because of this cuz no doubt shit got strained in canon but a death? One of a prominent family no less? Yeah that's not gonna slide.
But yeah I think looking at venti would hurt them all for a while. Ad would probably try to approach him the most since she was in on it the longest after nbd and knows venti more as a person. But she was also very close with nbd so oof.
Rag d and Kaeya would probably both need some time. Rag d is in on it and would know the reason but both he and Kaeya were raised very closely with nbd's family because the Ragnvindr line in RF was re-founded by NB via adoption (rip to red haired warrior, died bitchless) so uh that was basically their little brother??? Yeah. I wonder who would be more upset. The guy that knows that venti is a god and thus the reason why nbd had a target put on his back? Or the guy that only knows venti as the "cousin" that popped out of nowhere and has his suspicions about the guy. They'd both go and comfort nbd's family though
Speaking of nbd's family, they're also in the know. So would they look at their (warped and misinterpreted) duty differently? Death was never part of the deal so why did their youngest have to go? Would it be an honour to die with the anemo archon by his side? Or a tragedy because not even a god could stop it?
Jean would probably try to prioritise her duty before her own feelings but her grief might leak through while dealing with the political matters perhaps (maybe Ad will join her and finally use her political skills)
Eula swears vengeance and not just as a form of speaking. You killed her friend, one of the ones who defended her from the people (the other being amber ofc). Prepare to die.
Oh and Venti,,, I wonder what venti would do tbh. I see him as someone who has a good grasp and control over his emotions after so many years of learning to deal with them. But something that /gets/ him is his loved ones getting hurt. Also NB still gets shot in RF he just survives it so nbd getting hurt/killed would probably bring back some nastey memories. So would he let signora leave unscathed is the question 👀

REQUEST GUIDELINES
Note: this is so hard to read oh my god please just skip to the very end of the post i promise ill fix this soon
Tumblr media
I will only be writing Genshin Impact because it’s the only media where I could find inspiration to write.
WILL NOT WRITE
anything I am not comfortable with, which includes nsfw, incest, really really dark concepts (abuse, rape, etc.). tropes that I don’t really like that much (like major character death but depending on the request I might write it!). character x character ships. traveler (lumine or aether) as reader.
WILL WRITE italic are my favorite to write^^
[1] genres such as angst, fluff, hurt/comfort + more!
[2] any genshin character but most preferably Diluc, Childe, Ayato, Thoma, Ayaka, Eula. But feel free to request your faves!
[3] AUs such as Self Aware AU, Imposter AU, Royalty AU, Cult AU, Yandere AU (depends), Hanahaki AU, Modern AU, Idol AU, Domestic Au.
[4] tropes such as Enemies to Lovers, Unrequited Love, Childhood friends to Lovers, Academic Rivals to Lovers, Mutual Pining, Arranged Marriage or Marriage of Convenience
[5] types of readers such as God!Reader, Adeptus!Reader, Fatui!Reader + many more!
[6] endings such as happy endings, sad endings or bittersweet endings!
[6] personal scenarios just make sure to have the main point of the scenario said, but I might change up the scenario a bit.
Tumblr media
HOW TO REQUEST? (1)
Make sure to specify the character, reader’s gender, genre, AU, and the trope! And also wether if you want it bulleted, oneshot, short drabble, headcanons or a combination. example:
(1) I would like to request a Diluc x GN!Reader angst oneshot w/ enemies to lovers. headcanons please :D
(2) Can you do an Academic Rivals oneshot with Eula?????
If you did not specify in some requirements such as the AU or how it’s written, I’ll just assume its Canon Au and do whatever I want with how it’s written hehe.
Same thing with reader’s gender, I’ll just write Gender neutral.
Also a warning, I would most likely change up some things to cater my tastes so if you aren’t comfortable with that feel free to tell me!
Tumblr media
HOW TO REQUEST? (2)
just give me the character, genre and trope then let my imagination run wild LMFAO.
