advice for if you're questioning if you're plural and have some amount of communication (internal or external) with your headmate(s):
ask them about themselves and if they perceive you as a separate entity to them.
it's not easy to tell if your headmates exist from your point of view, but it's a lot easier if your headmates say to your face that they exist, that they have some sense of self and know things about themselves (especially if they tell you something about themself that you don't know!!!), and that they're separate from you.

It would be best for you two to figure things out and communicate. I can only be a middle man, and that is not something I need to do.
Everything that’s going on is between you and that friend. Healthily communicate, it would be best.

Do endos realize how anti-recovery they are? Because by pretending their system wasn’t caused by trauma, they can ignore the important steps of coming to terms with their trauma so they can heal from it.
And on the flip side if they’re not actually a system, they’re ignoring the signs that something else is wrong to make them think they are. Because genuinely thinking you’re a system when you’re not is a red flag that some other mental health issue is at play.

reporting live
trent alexander arnold x fem!reader. fluff. Trent who was rather interested in the reporter than the actual report he had to give.
Time was ticking on a thin thread for you as your supervisor might call you within five minutes if you do not interview, at least, one player of liverpool. You have been in the reporting field for at least seven months and you now also have juniors yet for you to move like an amateur was hurting your pride.
You are social issues reporter, going around different cities, and write an interesting jaw-dropping report then, call it a day. Sport reporting was not your forte, it is almost like . . fork found in your backpack. Simply out of place. The million dollar question ringing in your head was why were you here in Anfield Stadium at the first place but you face-palmed yourself on accepting to cover for your senior who was in her maternity leave. You had always hated whenever you had to cover for a reporter doing sports. No particular reasoning, just childhood trauma.
You saw all the liverpool footballer players walking out from the dressing room after a hot win. You crossed path with the tall, charismatic dutch leader of liverpool to the small growing liverpool superstar Endo but you had your goal set on the biggest prize, the player with a fresh trim, and his headphone on as every reporter tried catching his attention.
Trent Alexander Arnold, the star of Anfield and liverpool. Your supervisor might as well, move you to the Sports section if you got to interview Trent; you were not looking forward to that but a lady has bills to pay. You sighed as you had to save your job before it slipped away from your grip.
Just one interview, anyway. What is the harm? You held the sleeve of his tracker suit lightly, you needed this, you needed a bang.
"Great win in Anfield, innit? Please let us know about how are you feeling about the win?" You asked reaching your microphone out to the man. His gaze froze, so did his feet in front of you. It could be the audacity to block his way toward the team bus or the glitch of mischievousness in his eyes that flickered on your red hue cheeks.
Trent chuckled as he moved slightly forward removing his headphone, your eyes set on the man completely compelled from the bridge of his nose, deep doe eyes to his captivating smile. Everything about the man was setting you up for a failure, realizing how much of a bad idea this was.
"Yeah, yeah it is great team win but to become the last scorer for the win is a different achievement, so I am proud and happy." Trent answered, his eyes never leaving yours for a minute. His heavy scouser accent oozed out every word as Trent kept his smile intact.
His eyes glanced at you, noting the rose hue on your cheeks, one hand slightly shaking to hold onto the microphone and the other holding onto the notebook. "Come here, love. Let me hold that for you." He mumbled gripping on the microphone as your fingers brushed on his and you were secretly praying to every god that was staring upon you to not show your slight jump after the touch.
"Okay so-" You paused, clearly out of the atmosphere as you were in no place to check out players nor drool out your delusional ideas when you have a very angry supervisor waiting on the clock and an impatient cameraman behind you. "Yeah, I cannot lie, you . . you were great in the field." You complimented him quickly but you were not lying about it. With the long passes, and all the chances Trent created for the team; anyone can tell he was born to become a football player who succeeds with legacy.
"You were watching?" Trent asked raising his eyebrows in question. Utterly confused, you paused to flip your notebook to look at the man in front of you. With the silent eye contact, your neck burnt hot. You nodded sternly, a thin smile on your face. "Of course, I was watching, I mean, I am a reporter, can't be missing out on the main point of the whole show."
Trent kissed his teeth, he smirked, "So, tell me more. How was I on the field? Did you like what you see?" He winked at your direction. Your mind went blank, in what position does he have to be to flirt openly with a camera panning on his face? The burning hot sensation on your back came straight up and your heart beating fast was not helping to form words, "Like . . like I said, you were great. You are the star of liverpool after all." You sweetly smiled.
Trent had the cheeky smile on his face, his eyes lingering on your lips before glancing upward to your eyes. He knew what he was doing to you moving closer to the barrier between the reporters and the players.
You cleared your throat. "You are also the player of the match." You trailed off; Trent leaned closer. Call it the stadium being loud for him to not hear you clearly or he simply wanted to be close to you, to mesmerize the small moles on your face, to engulf himself on your warm scent.
"Are you excited for your next big game against Manchester City?" You inquired. All the back and forth staring and silence with Trent will not colour your supervisor impressed at all. You need to interview someone else that will not . . leave you speechless in minutes.
"Well it depends, to be very honest with you. Will you be in the next game?" Trent further pestered.
You furrowed your eyebrows in slight annoyance at the player for making everything about you while the whole fanbase would want to know more about him.
The cameraman behind you almost dropped his equipment taken back by the question. You did not know . . how to respond to the player who was attacking you with his doe eyes. Nervously, you laughed, "I cannot be certain about that. Are you and your team ready? It is one of the anticipated game of the season." You diverted his topic back to what you needed at the first place.
Trent stared at you without responding to your question, you quickly started shaking your leg anxiously as your eyes lingered at almost all the players leaving to go back to the training ground from the stadium. Your chances were blowing every second Trent silent in front of you.
During this period, you started considering finding other jobs, as you started making mental notes. With thoughts looming around your head, you did not come to realize Trent walked a few steps toward you, nibbling on his bottom teeth. He removed the microphone away from his lips, coming forward for a conversation that is sealed between you and the liverpool player.
You flinched at his hot breathe hitting your skin, as he gently held onto your forearm to keep you in position knowing you will move away from his contact.
You coughed away from his grip. "Have a great day then. We cannot wait till what magic liverpool can bring to Anfield once again."
"And you too, have a great day but i did not quite catch your name." He inquired with his wicked smirk playing on his face. He wants me gone, jobless. Clearly, with zero intention to support my penniless lifestyle.
You smiled, "If you do goal against Manchester City, I will let you know."
"Should we seal the deal with a kiss then, perhaps?"

I want a banner that just says "I stand with SAS" cause honestly seeing how many anti endos are flipping their lid because of SAS is wild. Like that is a blog concerned with CDDs, misinformation, and people not being asshats. If you can't agree with that blog, there's no hope for you in syscourse.

(Get it? Cause it's all about change? I'm hilarious)
The response to SAS has been stunning, to say the least. Duh, of course you know what I'm talking about -- Woooahhhhh the major anti-endo is pro-endo now!!!
Only, I really don't want to frame it like that. And... I'm so relieved to see so many taking it in stride and not framing it like that.
Me and Dude have been friends for a very, very long while -- or at least it feels like a long time. DID makes it hard and all to really realize how much time passes. But I consider Dude one of my close friends at this time, and I hope people can see why. He's a person who's willing to change, albeit stubbornly, and he works so hard to be kind -- even when the world has been so much less than kind back.
And one thing I've always known is that Dude was anti-endo, but willing to compromise on those opinions and beliefs if it meant furthering the science of it all, and understanding more about all of this. As time went on, it became understanding more about CDDs than ever before, fueled less by frustration and more by genuine curiosity. It's what attracted me to this friendship in the first place.
Seeing Dude repeatedly start to say that he is pro-endo warmed my heart, but not because of the pro-endo part; it was because of the change part. Because so many people struggle with that, with the idea that they can change. Me being one of them.
It's been... so difficult trying to carve out a place in syscourse. In life. I started out pro-endo and manipulated into very nearly thinking I wasn't a DID system at all. I moved to this nebulous area where i was harassed for stepping out of line. I was neutral, I became anti-endo, neutral again -- constantly flip flopping because I didn't have anyone or anything to hold onto. I didn't get to have a community. I didn't get to be anything other than The Bad Guy.
While I was in a CDD server, I at least had that community, but even that wasn't what I wanted. Even that wasn't good for me, even if it was good in other ways. Maybe I'll find the good again someday.
But seeing this outpouring of support... As someone who now no longer uses any syscourse label (Call me what you want, I really don't care), it's a goddamn relief to see someone being accepted with open arms. It's a relief to see people being so kind and generous, both with asks and with comments. I have to be blunt and say how jealous I am, seeing the outcropping of support.
But I'm also relieved to see my experience really is far from the norm... while also acknowledging that I am incredibly braced for impact at the moment due to those experiences.
I'm an incredibly stubborn person, I'm able to admit it. I struggle to change. I'm incredibly set in my ways. But I also do change, rapidly, flipping on a dime when I think it's what the other person wants. (Honestly, part of why I appreciate Dude so much was his insistence on slowing down, getting the facts, and making an educated decision based on that). And recently with syscourse, I've felt as if I have to slam my fist into the table and shout and scream about How Pro-Endo I Am, just in case anyone was lumping me in with those anti-endos -- but then I saw how some pro-endos were acting, and I felt I couldn't say anything about it-- ugh, I'm rambling.
All that is to say, I've felt so... stunningly alone lately, even with the support of my friends. I'm alone in syscourse. I'm alone in recovery. So many of my friends are moving on, healing, growing, and... Here I am, just a silly little circle on their blog, young and stupid and dumb.
So I'm glad people are accepting Dude, not as a pro-endo, but as someone who has grown. It gives me a lot of hope for my future. A lot of hope for finding a community -- not as a pro-endo, or anti-endo, or syscourse anything.
Just as a person.
Does that make sense?
I hope other people out there, stuck in syscourse like me, feeling very alone in a very large world, can see how willing people are to extend a hand. I hope I've extended my own enough. I just... have a lot of hope for the future.
@sysmedsaresexist Thanks for helping give me that right now <3

Idk, there's something that always bugs us about the statement "endos claiming to have DID/OSDD-1" instead of something like "DID/OSDD-1 systems who are endogenic" or "endogenic systems with DID/OSDD-1".
Okay I lied, I do know. It's the "claim" part. It's always that the hypothetical system is endogenic first and foremost. It's always a given. That goes without question (okay it's definitely questioned but I'll get back to that).
But they only claim to have DID/OSDD-1. When this phrasing is trotted out its never a given that the system has DID/OSDD-1. It's never believed that a system can exist prior to developing a dissociative disorder. Or that a system with a dissociative disorder can discover or recognize how they came to be and not ascribe that to trauma. It implies that the system doesn't have the disorder that they have.
And that framing is really unfair.
Wouldn't it be shitty if we did the same thing elsewhere? If someone said "this adult who claims to be autistic"? Or "this woman who claims to be a lesbian"? Or "this non-binary person who claims to be trans"? Or "this traumagenic system that claims to have DID/OSDD-1"?
We've seen all of those tossed around for the same reason. That last one is said (not in those words of course) by folks I think most of us would generally agree are being shitty. It's said by people who will fakeclaim any system for any reason. It's said by those that will fakeclaim a system for being queer or online. That's really bad company to have.
The usual response we see in defense of endogenic systems is "Most endogenic systems don't claim to have DID/OOSDD-1." Which is true, yes! We can't help but feel like that's talking about this on the fakeclaimer's terms though. We aren't asking folks to change how they respond of course, because we don't really know a better way to reject the accusation.
But those endogenic systems with DID/OSDD-1 aren't simply "claiming" to have DID/OSDD-1 any more than traumagenic systems are "claiming" to. They just have those disorders and are sharing that information about themselves.
While "endos are claiming to have DID/OSDD-1" puts the endogenic part first, implicitly leaving the diagnosis up for questioning, there is a flip side (see, I'm getting back to it).
To compliment the above, fakeclaimers will say that disordered endogenic systems just really don't know about their trauma; essentially that these DID/OSDD-1 systems are just claiming to be endogenic. Of course, we don't see it phrased that way. It's usually trying to be nicer. These poor misguided systems were tricked into thinking that they're endogenic. Or these foolish systems don't really know their origin. Or these crazy systems can't be trusted with their own experiences, cause that's what DID/OSDD-1 does to you.
It's patronizing. It's invalidating. It's disrespectful. It's sanism. It is opposed to disability rights and mad liberation. It speaks over DID/OSDD-1 systems.
These two claims compliment each other. They both feed into the idea that plurality (or at least DID/OSDD-1) can only exist for traumagenic systems. Anyone who disputes that with their lived experiences are either malicious fakers doing some stolen valor shit and invading spaces, or poor "real" systems that are just manipulated/ignorant/crazy.
Huh? That sounds familiar. Reminds me of attacks on trans folk that paint us as dangerous predatory invaders or poor deluded children falling for peer pressure... I would say it's strange or surprising, but we've gotten pretty used to attacks on systems having analogues in transphobia.
Anyways, endogenic systems aren't "claiming" to have DID/OSDD-1. Most endogenic systems don't have DID/OSDD-1, and they never said they do. Some endogenic systems do have DID/OSDD-1, and they share that part of their lives. Some DID/OSDD-1 systems are endogenic, and they have just as much right and ability to determine what caused their system to form and talk about it as any other system.

You know something funny I've found about how anti-endos treat specific origin labels?
If you call yourself "mixed origin", you're labelled a "faker", reduced down to endogenic origins you may or may not have, and put on DNIs and barred or kicked out of traumagenic (and often disordered) communities regardless of any traumagenic origins you may have. They're so eager to conflate "mixed origins" and "non-disordered endogenic" that they'll fakeclaim or dismiss any disorder or trauma that you have.
If you call yourself "traumaendo", they try to convince you that all your endogenic headmates are actually traumagenic, quite obviously trying to get you to match their preferences for how they'd label their own system, and making some really weird assumptions about what your endogenic origins are and when your origins occured.
Nevermind that traumaendo is the largest subset of mixed origin systems... just the change of a simple label and you can get two different forms of shit thrown at you! What is it, people? Am I actually an endogenic-only faker, or am I a poor, misguided traumagenic system? Either way, I apparently can't be trusted to know what's going on in my own brain and life. It's just funny to me at this point, how they'll flip on a dime for what are basically synonyms for my system. But then, I guess that's no different from how other bigots will change their plan of attack based on what they think will hurt the most.

The Garden - is it political, personal or profitable
This post is inspired by @shinybluebirdwizard‘s answer/theories about the Garden.
I think it’s interesting to see the Shopkeeper as a judge - I mean he sure sounds like one. But I also think he’s called the Shopkeeper for a reason. My theory is the Shopkeeper is first and foremost a businessman.
I’m not saying that means he doesn’t care about politics at all - on the contrary, war is not good for business as we all could probably see by now. And money IS politics. Even Donovan Desmond is a businessman.
*Manga spoilers alert*
It’s very easy to see why the Shopkeeper sounds like a judge - he picks the targets and tells the assassins why the target deserves to be punished.
Ostanian legal system must be a huge mess with the Red Circus or the bus arc being the direct result of it - there are just punishments without trials (to be honest, more like without law at this point) everywhere. It’s either the SSS or the Garden who decide which to punish, and it’s almost always about “to punish”. The tricky part about the Garden is that it seemingly also allows people to redeem their lives (aka Olka Gretchen). The SSS doesn’t.
We now have three "judges" in Ostania.
The SSS makes everything political, and goes extreme from there on.
The Red Circus is the flip side of the coin - it started as a political organisation, but things just get very personal at the end (i.e. you killed my friends and now I'm going to kill your children) and they just go extreme with that.
Everything is political AND personal at the same time, and at the end, extreme meets. In the bus arc we have Billy and Biddy Squire from the Red Circus, and we also have the two SSS agents - Yuri and that I-don't-wanna-be-a-lapdog asshat, mirroring each other as they hold the two ends. You can choose to make things to be more political or personal, and the outcome can be good AND bad.
It's easy to see the Garden as something purely political too, and that's why we are eager to see if any political party or organisation is backing the Garden up. However, I think the Garden is more than that. The Shopkeeper is a shopkeeper. The Shopkeeper is the leader of an assassin organisation who dresses like a gardener and talks about very vague but easy-to-sell ideas. His code name is not even the Gardener. He has a shop. It's about profit.
We are looking at the Garden through the lens of Yor. And Yor is not that interested in politics and money. When the Shopkeeper talks to Yor, his ideas are often conveyed in a very vague but easy-to-grasp way with simple metaphors.
He means it when he says he wants the world to remain a beautiful place - he just doesn’t bring up the price to Yor. He helps Olka because he admires how the Gretchen family operates, but it is also a payback. It’s never about going after the “evildoers” who almost wiped out the family; it’s about “personal debts” and “great favour(s)”. It is personal, it can be political, but ultimately it is a fair trade.
Tumblr media
Endo has always been straightforward about characterisation right from the start. And the cruise arc directly points out the most common reason for people to become assassins is that they want money. You see, the Director was never against the idea of making money - it's about how.
Tumblr media
And it's interesting how the three people in the Garden are the representatives of the three Ps. Yor's in it for personal reasons. The Director leans more to the political side - he is the Director of Policy in the City Hall. The Shopkeeper might be the businessman who has the "foresight".
Anyway, before I go crazy on these topics, here are my three p(ent)s on where the Garden stands.

Once told an endo (I didn’t know they were endo) that I was a system from MC and a RAMCOA victim so I didn’t like having DID. Which is reasonable considering I’ve almost died multiple times because of my progs and have literally been tortured. And you know what they said?
They said I was being too negative and “you’re bringing everyone in your system down. I’m sure they’d love plurality if you had a better understanding”.
Sorry I don’t think severe PTSD, suicidal tendencies and literal mind control from habitual torture is that fun. Sorry I don’t have a better understanding of that. 🙄
I fucking hate endos when they say shit like this.
Or when they say that it’s a “privilege” to have gone through it. No, asshole, it’s fucking not.
Not everyone will enjoy plurality, not everyone will find it fun when they’re dealing with programs and constant nightmares.
I’m flipping tables.
Like it’s perfectly fine to not like having DID or wishing you didn’t go through something like that. We have days where we hate it and can’t function. But endos trying to constantly think this is a “fun” disorder are so fucking wrong and I hate them for it.
