a really defining moment of aang and sokka’s relationship is that sokka literally lets himself get beat up for aang’s amusement and entertainment like a day into knowing him. like he is literally letting aang drop him onto the ground from a not insignificant height over and over again just to see aang smile and laugh. he is putting his own safety and physical wellbeing at risk because it makes aang happy. and there’s a lot we could get into here about how sokka fundamentally views himself and his body as a vessel through which to provide services to others instead of a whole human being in his own right, but what matters for the purposes of this post is that it’s very immediately established that sokka will do anything to see aang enjoy himself, to the point that he will quite literally put up with physical abuse without complaint to make aang happy. so when people are like “it’s crazy how sokka is so smart and yet loses all his braincells whenever he’s around aang,” it’s like yeah, teenage boy adhd2adhd communication will do that, but also a large part of it is sokka contorting himself into an image that he thinks aang will appreciate, because he knows just how valuable preserving aang’s childhood joy and laughter is.
and what’s beautiful is that through actively becoming this person for aang’s benefit, he also actually starts to internalize the sentiment. through the process of letting himself be silly and goofy for the sake of making aang happy, he also absorbs some of that sillygoofy happiness and regains some of his own childhood joy and laughter and sense of wonder he truly thought he had lost forever. he’s not just helping aang retain his childhood, but aang is also helping sokka regain his sense of humanity. the sokka of book 3 is someone who enjoys “wacky, time wasting nonsense” and throws beach parties, a far cry from the sokka of book 1 who thought fun and joy were luxuries no one could afford. his selfless love for aang is also self-affirming, helps him to embrace aang’s point of view, to love himself slightly more than he otherwise would have. because to love aang is to necessarily let kindness into your life; it’s to learn how to be free.

I use the “endos dni” tag because, despite popular belief, I’m not trying to hate on or hurt endos. I do it because I assume they would have that tag blacklisted so they don’t have to stumble upon a post they might not like.
I forgot that there are people who scroll that tag specifically looking for people to fight because they have to be right.
I have stated before, and I will say it again. I am not against systems who think they’re endogenic. I’m never going to assume they are not really a system just because they’re misguided on how they were formed. And I don’t think shoving down their throat that they were, in fact, formed by trauma, is going to help anyone.
In fact, forcing them to face their trauma when they’re clearly not prepared to is going to hurt them more than help them. And that’s not what I want.
Sometimes I just need to vent about what I’ve seen people say. And sometimes, because of the spaces I’m in, I see some endo saying some crazy ableist shit and I have to scream into the void about it. But I want the people who don’t want to see anything perceived as “anti-endo” if they want to avoid it, so I tag myself properly.
I can’t force you to agree with me, or even to respect my wishes that you don’t interact with me. I just hope you understand I’m not malicious against you, even if some of you piss me off.

1. I misworded myself, that’s on me. I should have said a system formed without trauma, but that’s not what the person who prompted this post was saying. They were saying that they were formed by trauma, but they “don’t let it define them”, which is ableist.
2. I stated directly in the post that saying traumagenic systems “define themselves by their trauma” is ableist. Which even in the “how they were formed” defense, isn’t what you were saying. Traumagenic systems are not “defined by their trauma” just for having the disorder, that literally just how the disorder happened.
3. All systems are formed by trauma. Saying otherwise is misinformation. Not remembering your trauma because your disorder is doing it’s job, doesn’t make your trauma less real. Being a system is a disorder, full stop. You don’t get a disorder if there’s nothing wrong with you.
“Endos don’t actually think they don’t have trauma, they just don’t let it define them!”
1. That’s not true, the guy who coined the term said it was a system without trauma. Full stop. You don’t get to redefine the word because you want to defend the misinformation.
2. Even if that were true- that makes me want to interact with you even less actually! Because y’all feel the need to separate yourselves from traumagenic systems because you’re asserting that we “define ourselves by our trauma” which is hella ableist!

i must not stir the pot. stirring the pot is the notifications-killer. participation in the discourse is the little-death that brings total activity obliteration. i will face the bad opinions on the internet. i will permit them to pass over me and through me. and when they have gone past, i will turn the block button onto their source. where the discourse has come from there will be nothing. only i will remain.

Me: *to my therapist* I had the spoons, so I did heaps of stuff and now I'm so exhausted I feel sick.
My Therapist: This is where you got to treat spoons like cash. Just because you have them, you need to figure out if you have enough to spend, or else you're going to be in debt. Remember, you're autistic, so you regain those spoons slowly and use them quickly. Everything, good and bad, uses that cash for you. You may enjoy the activity but it's going to exhaust you just as much as a bad activity if you're not careful.
Me: Goddamnit....

Secret about autistic people: a lot of times we don’t actually miss a social cue. We see it. We just decide to ignore it because we think it’s a stupid social cue.

If you've ever been disappointed by dragonfruit, especially if you felt like it tasted like nothing, then I'm like 90% sure you had unripe dragonfruit, which tastes like nothing. There's a small window of time where it tastes amazing. You must have the patience of a hunter. Do not strike until your prey is at its most delicious

“you don’t like the proliferation of terms like Unalive outside of TikTok because you realize that you’re aging out of youth culture and it makes you uncomfortable!”
no I don’t like it because there’s something INCREDIBLY dystopian about being forced to soften terms for basic parts of the human experience like death and sex (and even more so terms for oppressed minorities- call me a “le-dollar sign-bian” and I will bite you) purely because advertisers and corporations demand it

I'm a cryptid in Stardew valley. I live on the outskirts of town. I disappear for days on end, purchasing daily one-way tickets to the calico desert. Nobody knows where I go while I'm there. Can occasionally be found fishing at random spots throughout town. I am never not running on at least one triple shot espresso. I take the abandoned minecarts to get around and am frequently seen disappearing into the sewers. I carry a sword for some reason. Once every week or two I will stride into your bedroom to deliver you your favorite meal. I'm a self-made millionaire. I attend all the town events and will go to your concert in the next town over. I have donated approximately 2583 items to the local museum and singlehandedly revitalized the town community center. There are rumors I can talk to junimos. I'm friends with the local wizard
