Encanto tv series
In every episode Luisa tries a new hobby in the B/C plot and it goes a different direction each time.
There's 12 Madrigals so that already gives 12 character-centric episodes, + 12 if you want to do flashback episodes for each character so that's already 24.
Townie-centered episodes
Obligatory halloween episode where the grandchildren tell each other scary stories of the outside world.
Dolores and Mariano get engaged/married in a mid season finale/season finale.
Over the course of the series a trading&transport system is created for people to safely get in and out of the Encanto to the nearest town.
Obligatory "the oldest granddaughters go out and shenanigans happen." also Camilo and Mirabel spy/tag along.
Mariano goes with the other granddaughters out of the Encanto to get the best engagement ring for Dolores (because only the best of the best is good for her). Camilo and Antonio tag along and they get into trouble. Dolores hears everything and goes to bail her boyfriend and cousins/brothers out.
in each episode a part of the diverse Colombian culture could/should be explored. (food, music, dancing, fashion, history, etc)
Each season, new outfits for everyone!
:)

Encanto 2 or follow-up series ideas
Disney's Encanto was one of the best films of 2021 and since Tangled, Big Hero 6 and few other Disney films were given a sequel or follow-up TV series, what would the plot be for the next chapter(s) of Encanto?
With one of the mountains surrounding Encanto now having a big crack that opens the hidden town to the outside world, there is bund to be people who are curious about the world beyond Encanto. That is why I believe that the plot might be of Mirabel and her fellow Madrigal grandkids wanting to take advantage of the new "gate way." If it allowing their grandmother to revisit the river she received the miracle helped her to open up to Mirabel, what other good outcomes could come from it?
One of the earlier layouts of the film did give the residence of Encanto away to visit the town below the mountains, that has kept up with the current times while Encanto maintained an old lifestyle as their way of life. Finding away to place that earlier idea into the sequel or TV series could make it interesting.
Knowing Alma and how she might be worried of how the outside might react to her magical family, she would probably want everyone to keep away from it. With Mirabel not having a magical blessed gift, however, might give her the advantage to see what is out there and then report back to her curious sisters and cousins. Along with telling them what they can expect for when they take a short trip there themselves. To make this happen, Camilo would no doubt make himself look like Mirabel as he covers for her.
The way that a bright light followed the death of a single man before the mountains rose from the ground and causes a large number of people to disappear, is bund to have left a mark or created an urban legend. Along with giving Disney away to create a new character that has wondered about that story and what really happened, from not believing in the existence of magic or miracles. Should this character become friends with Mirabel and plans to expose the truth behind the legend, our hero would try to throw them off and to ensure that her family doesn't use their powers in front of them. Just getting those powers back and never having to restrain them like they were never there (like Elsa had tried to do), might make things tricky for them.
So those are my thoughts and theories. What do you think, would you like to see something like that happen?

Some episodes I want to see if an Encanto TV series is made:
Beach day
Family road trip
Young triplets
An episode focused on each grandkid- we get to see their rooms and their stories
Young Alma and Pedro
Rat sidestory
Madrigals make a play
Triplets doing something like baking or cooking together
Bruno, Félix, and Agustín have a guy's night
The first triplet birthday after Bruno returns
Christmas episode
Colombian traditions and holidays like Día de Los Santos Inocentes
So much can be done with this family. Not making a series would be a mistake.
Any more episode ideas to add to the list? 📺

in my perfect world, encanto would get a tv series that just does an episodic exploration of the family, either pre-movie or post, with maybe an overarching plot
i mean really anything like the tangled tv show would be fine

ok so i figured out why the songs in the new disney movie Wish suck so bad - for the movie celebrating 100 years of mostly animated movie MUSICALS, they didn’t get a songwriter who writes MUSICALS. they got two POP songwriters (Julia Michaels and Benjamin Rice, who’ve written for a lot of big stars like Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, etc). despite lin-manuel’s faults, that man can cook up a song and had won a tony even before hamilton. there’s a reason moana and encanto went crazy. the anderson-lopezes made frozen and frozen II a HIT. maybe if they didnt have them chained to a desk writing two more frozen movies they could’ve worked on Wish instead. the ICON alan menken completed his EGOT from the daytime emmy he won for writing a song just for the tangled TV SERIES in 2020, and they couldnt even get him back?! for the movie celebrating 100 years of animated musicals?!!!
one of the directors of the film is Chris Buck, who did Tarzan - that movie only really has one or MAYBE two songs sung by the characters, and is mostly a soundtrack by Phil Collins instead. but thats a FULL soundtrack that was supposed to be pop the whole way through, not a musical.
one of the only times they got a pop songwriter to do an animated musical was Elton John for the Lion King, but he went on to write several popular musicals after that.
they got a big Broadway star like Ariana Debose, and a big Hollywood star who can really sing like Chris Pine, on that movie and gave them POP composers? for the 100th anniversary? this is the studio that made HAMLET WITH LIONS and a BOOK BY VICTOR HUGO into legendary animated musicals. what the FUCK happened? which executive made this stupid ass choice?

Encanto TV series
Soooooo, let's just say Disney was making an Encanto TV series-
what would you like to see in it?
what would you like to see being discussed in it? (like everyone actually talking out their problems instead of singing kumbaya)
Do you want it to be action and adventure packed? (everyone ventures outside of Encanto for the first time maybe?)
Would you still like the music to be Colombian pop influenced?
Would you like wholesome familial bonding? (inside and/or outside encanto)
(Totally not asking because I'm planning on writing the first season and I need a foundation)
reblogs and comments are appreciated

i feel like we’re finally at the age of information transparency on the internet that studio head execs are showing their own asses in an unprecendented way. like we all knew they were bigoted old farts who hate minorities and animation as a medium BUT now we have the entire hbo max tobacle, and that’s only the most obvious.
recently two tv shows for wings of fire and phoebe and her unicorn were cancelled– the first because of netflix budget cuts and the second because “nobody wants to watch a female-led show.” as for the latter, that’s so obviously not true that it’s laughable, what with basically every disney animated show being female-led and extremely popular incl. owl house and amphibia, legend of korra being revered rightfully for its badass queer woc main, the female-led infinity train seasons being just as popular as the male-led, my little pony getting a terrifying number of fans... i don’t even have to explain this to y’all i don’t know why i am, it’s just obvious that isn’t the case. the reason i lumped it in with wings of fire though is it shows that these execs literally have their heads so far up their own asses they don’t realize that they’re literally throwing away money. both wings of fire and phoebe are EXTREMELY popular with their target demographic– i work at a library and go to bookstores like, once a week, and wings of fire is THE kids’ series right now– every library and bookstore has a dedicated shelf just for it, every kid in the us and canada reads these gay lil dragon books. i don’t know much about phoebe but i do know that i have to shelf her graphic novels every goddamn day so they’re getting checked out constantly. making these shows would give these studios an immediate HUGE audience but they don’t want it because.......... ???? honestly the only thing i can think of is bias against animation, but also i do know that while WoF is very cishet in the first few books, later books add quite a few queer dragons and that could def be a reason.
netflix also recently told craig mccracken, creator of some of the most beloved kids shows of the 2000s, that “original content doesn’t sell anymore” and they need to do reboots and remakes instead. which is funny coming from the company that made stranger things which, while nostalgia-bait for the 80s, is an original fucking story. also the owl house and amphibia are disney’s top shows rn. the most popular kids movie right now is encanto, a completely original story. and that’s just in KIDS MEDIA, do i need to bring up the popularity around everything everywhere all at once, squid game, the knives out franchise, etc? we’re in an age of remakes and reboots yeah but original stories can still make money and gain fans if you make a good fucking product. but netflix doesn’t care about that, as evidenced by how fast they cancelled first kill and also every other show that was good.
and idk what it is but something about the state of the internet right now means that we’re all seeing this in a way we hadn’t before. we’re all seeing how fucking dumb these execs are– well, dumb or actively malicious. or even trying to commit corporate suicide for some reason. it’s just interesting to me that all this is happening now when in the past we were just kinda like. stuck with whatever we got

What if it's not character that's your problem, but the structure of your story? How do you plot?!
While the plot of a novel is a series of events unique to your tale, the structure of it is probably very similar to other works and as such, falls into one of these plot types.
Vs Fate (luck, destiny) - Have your character fight against the inevitable - a prophecy, a prognosis. Percy Jackson never actually escapes the prophecies, and the characters of Fault of Our Stars fight cancer every step of the way.
Vs Self (need vs want, need vs morals) - Have your character fight their own nature. This is a common plot structure for character-driven novels and is often the basis of a character arc. Think Diana Prince in Wonder Woman 84 torn between her want (her lover) and her need/morals (saving the world)
Vs Society - Rebellion! Society can vary - maybe it's the ruling class, maybe it's the patriarchy, maybe it's capitalism (solarpunk, anyone?). In any case, characters in these stories are fighting the structural aspect of a society or the establishment upholding it. Luke Skywalker is going against the Empire, and the ladies of Hidden Figures are fighting racism.
Vs Supernatural - This is when the threat is a supernatural element, which isn't every fantasy story. Think the Exorcism or monster-of-the-week TV shows.
Vs Technology - This is when technology is the bad guy your characters must stop. It can be in an action movie - like Terminator - or it could be in a political drama about the atomic bomb.
Vs Family - These plots can be similar to the vs society setup, but the group your character is fighting against is more personal because it's their family (found or not). Encanto is a good example of this - Mirabel struggles with her place in the family while her siblings struggle with the pressure to keep Abuela happy.
These are basic plot structures, the high-level action of your story. The details of how these play out will depend on your characters and setting.

continuing the toxic/crazy baby daddy series😂:
Imagine the weekend rolls by once again. Dame is standing at the front door, waiting for BM to answer it. after waiting for about two minutes, BM finally opens the door with their daughter and her overnight bag in her hands.
Dame is excited to see his daughter, but he’s more focused/taken aback by what his BM has on. the velvet ruched bodycon dress she has on has his eyes glued to her frame as she hands him their daughter and her bag.
“where you goin’?”, Dame asks as his eyebrows furrow. “out.”, BM answers simply as that was all he needed to know. “out where?” getting annoyed with his questions, BM rolls her eyes. “it doesn’t matter, Damian.”
inhaling and exhaling to calm his rising nerves, his jaw clenched as he looks at the length of the dress, barely stopping below her ass. before he could say anything, BM realizes she forgot to put something in her daughters bag. “shit. i forgot to put her eczema lotion in there. i’ll be right back.”, BM says before running into the house.
while she’s gone, Dame uses this as an opportunity to pry some information from their daughter. “babygirl, do you know where mommy is going?”, he asks, looking down at his twin.
the little girl shakes her head no. “daddy, i want some juice.” nodding his head, Damian carried the child into the house and into the kitchen before sitting her down at the kitchen island. while he was pouring her juice, a ping comes from BM’s phone, which is sitting next to the daughter.
handing babygirl the sippy cup full of juice, Damian let’s curiosity get the best of him and he peeks over to see Terrances’ name with a heart emoji with the message ‘you ready for date night, ma?😏’
Damian damn near smashes her phone right there. “babygirl, go find something to watch on tv. i gotta go talk to mommy.”
“Okay,” his little princess says, grabbing her blue sippy cup. Dame picks his three year old daughter up and walks her to the living room. His BM hadn’t cleaned up the pillows on the floor from earlier when they were having a Disney movie binge. Damion doesn’t have to ask his daughter what she wants to watch, he finds Encanto and his daughter falls into the trap of that movie. She falls on her back and neglects her cup.
Dame tickles her feet which causes her to giggle before he jogs back to the kitchen to retrieve his BM’s phone. He makes his way upstairs and follows the sound of his BM moving things around in the hallway bathroom. When he finally makes it there, he peeks inside to find her checking beneath the sink. She’s on her knees with her ass facing him and her heeled feet. Dame slips inside before shutting the bathroom door. She looks up at him, some of her hair from the half up half down style falling over her shoulder.
“Where is my daughter? You better not have left her in the car Dame—”
“She’s watching Encanto as we speak. What’s this shit?”
Dame shows her the unread text notification from her Lock Screen. Her face was stony but her eyes were fearful. She picked herself up and snatched her phone from his grip, trying her best to ignore his impenetrable glare. She cut her eyes to the door but he was standing right there with his hand on the knob.
“FINE. Terrance is taking me out on a date. Why does it matter so much to you? We’re not an item anymore.”
Dame laughs, something he did often to calm his rage. She knew that.
Dame swiped his nose with his thumb, eyebrows creased, “You serious? Why do you keep playing in my face? I thought we already talked about this?!”
“Well I changed my mind!” She yelled, “I’m not doing this with you anymore. I don’t owe you nothing—”
“You fucking him after this date?” Dame questioned.
She opened and closed her mouth like a fish out of water. Dame’s eyes narrowed dangerously at her lack of response.
“Text Terrance back and tell him you ain’t coming. And if you don’t, I will. Think I’m playing.”
She laughed, “I’m not texting him, and neither are you. When are you going to learn that this is over?”
“When are you going to stop playing games and admit that you don’t want it to be over?”
She looks away, “Dame, MOVE he’s outside.”
“Oh REALLY?” Dame locks the door, “Then I guess you gotta let him know in person, ma.”
Her eyes ran up and down Dame’s body while he started to take off his denim jacket revealing a white T-shirt that fit him snugly around his biceps. The gold chain she bought him was still around his neck and it brought back all the memories of how she used to grip it when he was on top of her.
“Dame,” She couldn’t believe how shaky her voice sounded, “Get out of my way.”
“I’ll move when I’m finished with you,” Dame picks her up and sits her on the sink, “once I’m done fucking some sense into your defiant ass, I’ll send you to him with my cum drippin’ down your inner thighs and my scent ALL OVER YOU.”
She shuddered at his words, delivering weak pushes to his solid chest that eventually turned into her gripping his T-shirt in her fist. Dame pulled her panties to the side and got down on his knees so he could be face to face with what will ALWAYS BE HIS.
“If you letting me do this, you know just as much as I know, where you belong.”
He pushed her legs back and dragged his tongue over her lower lips while Terrence called her wondering where she could be.

Last film I watched: Encanto! I rewatched it over three days, like damn why did I do that to myself I was crying 9am before a train journey.
Last TV series: Last TV series I finished was Big Mood (with its Tim Downie jumpscare) but last TV show I watched was Fantasy High Junior Year
Last thing I googled: ...'Strahd and Tatyanna'. I feel like that's the response a ChatGPT version of me would give as well. How about I just go throw myself off a bridge huh?
Last thing I ate: A chocolate crispy cake with mini eggs for Easter lol.
Sweet, Savory or Spicy: Sweet :')
Amount of sleep: standard anxiety haver of 'attempt for 8 hrs, typically lie awake staring at the ceiling for 1.5hrs standard while the brain plays either the top 5 concerns in your life or the Distraction Movie on repeat' (6-7hrs last night lol)

Get To Know You game
Got tagged by @ah0yh0y THANKS BUDDY!!!! Here's the link to her original post
Questions: last song you listened to, currently watching, currently reading, current obsession
Last song: I'm listening to What Else Can I Do? from Encanto sung by Diane Guerrero and Stephanie Beatriz on repeat. I just love Encanto's songs. The part when Mirabel sings to Isabel about her being perfect her whole life - and her voice changes from doleful to joy and happiness for her sister? MMMMHMMMM 👌TEARS ME UP.
Currently watching: Not... anything really. I haven't been reading novels or watching TV shows or movies lately. Gosh, school is so consuming, especially with the extracurriculars I've taken up.
But I remember watching Danny Phantom last. I got DVDs from the library and was watching it in our old laptop which had a DVD player. They dont make laptops like those anymore. And we dont have a DVD player for the TV. And that laptop broke. So idk where else to watch Danny Phantom :(
Currently reading: As i said, not really reading many novels atm. I'm reading fanfic! The last fanfic I read was mine XD More specifically Let Them Be Siblings. I wanted to check out how far along the series I was and then got sucked.
But the other last fanfic i read was... I'm Just a Kid (I Know That It's Not Fair) by StoriesAreMagic cuz they updated <3
The last novel I read? ...I can't recall. It was that long ago- NO WAIT! I picked up some novels from the library for my sisters and I sometimes read my sister's books. There's this one series I especially like. It's called 'Phoebe and her Unicorn', and it is good, I tell you. Very good. The jokes aren't like kid jokes. They speak something deeper.
Current obsession: So many. Idk. Tim Drake? DC?

⚠️Long Post Alert⚠️
Alright I've seen a lot of (negative) buzz around Disney's new show "Primos" so I'm gonna put my 2 cents in
According to the Primos wiki, the show is about "Tater, an eccentric 10-year-old girl with big dreams and, unbeknownst to her, a certain “it factor” that makes her exceptional. When her 12 cousins (“primos” in Spanish) move in for the summer, they help her discover just what it is. Tater’s aspirations and larger-than-life imagination are seen via entries in her super-secret diary, which turn her deepest thoughts into grandiose animation sequences."
Tumblr media
FIRST, it's yet ANOTHER piece of children's media about the main character + their large Latin American family.
Upon doing some research apparently this show is about the creator's personal experiences, which okay valid. But when creating media that meant to represent a community it would be better to offer a DIFFERENT perspective rather than give us the same trope that has been done to DEATH.
Tumblr media
And I'm gonna be real with yall, I LOVE Coco and Encanto, but both movies also fall under this trope. Not all Latin American families live with their extended family, we don't need ANOTHER piece of media perpetuating the stereotype.
Also, Disney has been putting out a few shows on Disney Channel and Disney Junior that are clear knock offs of Nickelodeon shows. Some examples:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And...hm....lemme think....a kids TV show about a Mexican girl and her quirky large Mexican family getting into some Mexican™️ shenanigans...where have I seen that before...?
Oh right
Tumblr media
Yeah the premises are slightly different, but it's essentially the same trope so already right off the bat Primos feels like a knock off version of The Casagrandes.
SECOND, there are many stereotypes already present in the series just from tbe opening theme. Many of the cousins fall into stereotypes themselves, particularly the names. Some the names of the cousins are Gordita, Big Nacho, Nachito, and Cookita. I've seen people justify the use of these names by saying many Latin Americans are given these names as nicknames, which is true. But then again, having a characters named Nacho and Gordita in a show that's supposed to be about LatAm representation is just in bad taste. It's giving "Marco Diaz from Star vs. the Forces of Evil being half Mexican and being obsessed with nachos for some reason but not representing his Latino heritage in any other way other than him wearing that Day of the Dead themed costume in The Blood Moon Ball ep." It feels lazy, and of course, stereotypical.
On TOP of this, the word "Cookita" in many LatAm countries is slang for pussy and the suffix "-ita" means small. And the character with this name is the BABY. So yeah maybe naming the B A B Y character something that to many Spanish speakers means "little pussy" in a show ABOUT Spanish speaking Latin Americans probably isn't the wisest decision.
Another detail people have been pointing out leans into negative Mexican stereotypes is the use of the "yellow filter".
Tumblr media
Now I'm gonna be real and say I'm not 100% convinced about the yellow filter being used here. The show takes place over the summer, so the use of yellow might may be used to give the feeling of how hot it is, but I can totally see why Latin Americans would find this offensive.
Also the name "Terremoto Heights" has been heavily criticized. Terremoto means "earthquake" in Spanish and the earthquakes are common in LatAm countries. Then again, show takes place in LA, where a lot of earthquakes occur too. So Im not 100% convinced that this is flat out racist either, but it's definitely in poor taste.
THIRD, the thing that is being SLAMMED at the most, is the improper Spanish grammar and the creator's response to people pointing it out.
In the theme song, the phrase "¡Oye! Primos" is used a lot, which means "Hey cousins!" The issue with this phrase is that "Oye" means hey but in the singular tense, and "Primos" is plural. If you plug in "¡Oye! Primos" to Google translate you'll get Hey Cousins regardless, but in Spanish the phrase is not grammatically correct. In order for it to be grammatically correct the phrase would either need to be changed to "¡Oigan! Primos", "oigan" being the plural word for Hey, or "¡Oye! Primo" and make primo singular. People have been telling this to the creators of the series and well...they haven't exactly been taking it well.
Here's what the voice actress of the main character Tater, Myrna Garcia Velasco said her on social media (Instagram I think, I could be wrong) in response to the bad Spanish:
(If you can't listen to it I'll just summarize. Velasco says that Spanish is the language of the Spanish conquistadors and the only reason why Latinos are LATIN American and not indigenous is because of the Spanish, and to stay mad if you think her incorrect Spanish is an issue. She also brings up how they're "trying to make a good show" for kids who "don't have a grasp on any language" or something?? Idk that's pretty much what she's saying")
Basically this response doesn't make any fucking sense. "Spanish isn't our original language so it doesn't matter if I speak it correctly or not. I'm a NATIVE Mexican so it doesn't matter if I speak Spanish correctly or not"
???????
Girl what the fuck does this mean??? News flash, but the majority of Latin America has been speaking Spanish for CENTURIES. You go to Mexico or most other Latin American countries and you'll find them speaking SPANISH. Yes it's because of the Spanish but it's part of our culture now whether you like it or not. It's like saying "oh it doesn't matter if I speak English correctly or not cause English isn't the US' ORIGINAL language anyway" ?????
Now, the story IS about a mixed kid. Tater is half white half Mexican, so if Tater is a Latina girl who doesn't know Spanish fluently (otherwise known as a "No-Sabo" kid), then the imperfect Spanish would make sense. If the idea behind Primos is to represent the Latin American kids who don't speak Spanish, then yeah thats fine and it was a directoral choice. But judging by Velasco's response, that doesn't seem like thats the idea?? She immediately got defensive and brought up the Spanish colonizers?? Which is relevant??? HOW???
On top of that, one member of the creative team, (not 100% sure who) called someone a "Grammar N@zi" for pointing out the grammatical errors and, well...
Tumblr media
That's def not helping their case.
How the HELL are you gonna make show about a Spanish speaking Latin American family and NOT SPEAK SPANISH PROPERLY??? How the HELL are you gonna start beef with SPANISH SPEAKERS over whether or not it's important to speak Spanish CORRECTLY when portraying SPANISH SPEAKING PEOPLE IN MEDIA??? Yes slang exists, yes different LatAm countries speak Spanish differently, but grammar still exists??
OVERALL: Do I think Primos is this horribly racist dumpster fire? No. Are there MANY choices in this show that are just in poor taste? Absolutely 100%. Are the responses from the creative team outta pocket? Yes of course.
If you ask me, I think the main reason why people are so outraged over Primos is because the stereotypes and tropes are tired and dated, and people KNOW what writers are capable of. The response of this teaser, sandwiched between The Owl House ending and the premier of Across the Spiderverse, which have STELLAR LatAm rep, is proof of that. Luz Noceda, Miles Morales and Miguel O'Hara are SHINING examples of good SPANISH SPEAKING LatAm representation in children's media. We CAN have good LatAm protagonists in mediation, we've SEEN IT. We don't need all the stereotypes and overused tropes, so it makes sense why so many LatAm people feel like Primos is offensive and a step backwards.
Disney is getting lazy, they need to get their shit together
