El Tigre/OC Crossover blabbering woohoo

I had a dream related to my OCs Laika and Jaime in El Tigre during my nap today. I love the idea of Laika and Frida being friends and Frida getting Laika into mischief and Jaime being a bad influence on Manny. Like Manny is the more wholesome of the two.

-Jaime: *is drawing stick figures with boobs* Manny: Whatcha drawing? Jaime: GAH!

-Frida and Laika up to shenanigans at night and Laika keeps falling asleep.

-Frida playing with leftover ink Laika shot.

-Frida throwing a hissy fit because Laika didn't invite her to see Gorillaz but then later breaking into the concert because of a supervillain fight and Manny has to save the band.

-Frida calling Laika a nerd for being good at school and Laika flipping Frida off only to later have to tutor Frida.

-Jaime showing Manny 2 Girls 1 Cup and scarring him.

-Laika asks about the video and they change the subject. Jaime would always get into trouble at Leone Middle School. “Yeah I beat up that ugly ass Bart Simpson looking kid. He made fun of Laika I had to.” At least once a day you hear in the hallways "Jaime Hildalgo-Alvarez" being shouted by the principal.

-Jaime is like “dude your grandpapi is literally like mine but less dirty and cussy and has a cool ass sombrero. I wish I had your dad, he’s so cool! My dad’s not in the picture and stepdad hates me.” “No he doesn’t!” “Yes he does. You haven’t met him.” “No he doesn’t! Isn’t it like illegal to hate your kids?” “I ain’t his fucking kid.” “Or step kids?”

They meet him and afterwards Manny looks at Jaime sadly while Jaime pouts angrily.

-Jaime would date Zoey Aves for a week not even and then dump her. “Frida’s right-she’s a whiny biiiitch. And definitely Black Cuervo.”

-Ainsley would be nicer to Laika and when she’s not around passive aggressive to the other three. When The Lab shit happens, they’re surprised but not surprised.

-Jaime loves Manny's house so much that he gives his mother and stepdad a hard time when he has to leave. After mouthing off to his stepdad he only stops when it makes Laika nervous.

-Jaime would talk to Manny Frida and Laika less after joining the soccer team because he goes through a phase of trying to be popular.

-Neri Laika Jaime Manny and Frida are all in the same resource classroom.

-Laika helping Manny's mom in the library.

-Jaime would be good friends with Django of the undead and Che but would not like The Golden Eagle Twins Chipotle Jr. Sergio or Zoey Aves.

-Zoey would be mean to Laika for no reason. Actually she would think Laika likes Manny romantically.

-Laika being diagnosed with autism and none of the crew are surprised. At all. Jaime's like "where's my diagnosis?!!"

-Laika coming out of the damn lab and the crew having a big group hug and crying.

-Ainsley would be more mean to the crew post events of The Lab.

-Kari Melba Soledad Ester and Frida would fuck shit uuuuup.

-Frida helping Laika with conversational Spanish.

-Frida having to put the police dogs in her parents' room because Laika's afraid.

-Kari Laika and Jaime helping save the day with their powers. Jaime has a harder time controlling them.

-Jaime loves messing around with Davi and telling him scary shit just to scare him.

-Jaime once calls Manny's mother hot and Manny smacks him upside the head.

-Laika and Neri go through a period of not seeing Manny and Frida in 9th grade due to not having classes together. Laika and her brothers are away for most of this summer at summer camp during that summer. They become friendlier in 10th grade.

-Laika tries to befriend Sophia. It does not go well.

-Frida and Manny are the first peer friend Laika comes out to. Frida blabs however and Manny has to keep Frida's mouth shut about it. Puts a rift in the squad dynamic.

-Kari calling Manny cute at a sleepover in front of Frida and getting the stink eye for it.

-Jaime and Kari singing Spoonman by Soundgarden at El Cucharon.

-Kari and Frida waking Laika and Manny up with guitars. Jaime jumping on the bed screaming at them to wake up.

-Frida's parents love Laika because they feel she is a good role model for their daughter.

-Laika would always be getting hurt or into trouble because of Frida. Part of the time she'd be getting her ass saved and the other part she'd save the day.

-Laika helps Frida get diagnosed with ADHD and accomodations.

-Jaime and Frida would stand up to assholes bullying Laika.

-Jaime convinces Manny and Frida to apologize to Sergio for being mean to him on his first day of school because Laika was bullied for being a Gorillaz fan in 6th and 7th grade and that story reminds him of that.

like usual i'll blab more under cut as well as the cropped versions

okay so he plays more into the fact this isn't exactly just everything opposite, since you can't make a morally opposite version of Manny and also cause its more interesting

basically its more differences coming from the fact those around him and experiences would make him different from canon, if the canon version is best described as a hero with villain tendencies then this guy is a villain with hero tendencies

continuing more with that he actually thinks things through more often, due to mainly having to spend time with his best friend by studying together, having to sneak about to do what he wants more often, and just general more scheming due to his dad being a villain he relies more on stealth and strategy then brute force and instinct

Fun fact The boys named Jorge Junior after Mannys grandpapi (and the creator of the show, of course) the girl’s named Marga because that’s my great aunts name lol

Dia De Los Muertos Special Part 2 of 2: el Tigre: The Grave Escape (Comission For WeirdKev27)

Hola a todos ustedes gente feliz! It's time for the second part of our day of the dead spectacular so I hope you lost souls are hungry as we dive into one roast beast of a show with El Tigre under the cut!

El Tigre was part of something that i'm endlessly fascinated from and will likely keep touching on on and off till the end of time.. or until my lifespan reaches it's natural end.. being devoured by geese: the 2000's superhero show boom, which was awesome as hell and I still have to get to Jake Long, Kim Possible (which I sorta count), My Life as A Teenage Robot and MANY more at some point. It was a grand time and i'm still shocked this is the second show from it i've fully covered but here we are.

El Tigre set itself apart from the already great pack though with it's simple but brilliant premise: It's the story of the tweenage Manny Rivera, better known as El Tigre, who's the son of the goody good super babyface hero White Pantera.. and Grandson of the ubervillian Puma Loco. And that my friends is the hook: Instead of being a straight up superhero or crimefighter like his peers, Manny is torn between being a superhero or a supervillian, exploring both sides of his heritage. Helping him out or sometimes just hanging around is his best friend, sorta love intrest and enabler Frieda, a wild spirit whose ironically the daughter of the local asshole police chief. And to the shows credit the cops are not potrayed as good guys just due to position, with Frieda's dad, while meaning well, not being the best guy.

It's a hook that simply slaps. Manny still fights supervillians and has his own rogues gallery of course, many of whom hate him in paticular, but instead of just fighting the good fight he can often be motivated by his own selfish motives and impulsivness. He can also fight dirty, with the most memorable bit to me being from when he ended up fighting a bunch of senior citizen supervillians he bonded with.. and collapses their retirment home on them. They surivive, this cartoon's heavy on slapstick and very light in tone, but it's still not something you'd see Danny or Jenny pulling unless the villian was REALLY that strong or terrible. It gave the series it's own unique flavor.

It's also one of the two thigns, the other being the flash arc the return of barry allen which i've just added to the giant pile of things I need to cover, that cemented one of the superhero tropes I love the most: Legacy Heroes. The sense that this mantle the hero is wearing has a long history before them and will after them and that whoever picks it up matters. While Manny's only the second El Tigre, we'l lme the first in a moment, he's the latest in a long line of super heroes and villians and it's hard to pick which side of his lienage to go with and which beloved family member to turn his back on. It also makes the lack of him making a choice for some time easier to swallow as it's understandable a 12 year old both dosen't want to pick between his guardians, and wants to really think this out.

So naturally having never seen this episode in full I was excited to plunge into the Grave Escape. In addition to being a Dia De Los Muertos episode from Jorge freaking Gutieerz, series creator and awesome dude, it dives into that legacy as Manny meets every previous rivera.

So I was expecting a bit of an epic.. and what I got.. was…

The Grave Escape isn't a terrible episode, but it's underwhelming espeically since the setup is decent: Manny as he's grown older has gotten tired of day of the dead and while he feigns excitment for his Dad and Grandpapi's sake, he has no real intrest in it. This works as a lot of kids get disillusoned with holidays and it's a classic trope for a holiday special. The only part of it that dosen't it is Manny not believing in the Land of the Dead despite his famlies collective deadliest foe being.. Sartanna of the Dead. Whose the villian of this episode. It dosen't help both Manny and his father get their powers from magic and it's heavily implied Puma's mech suit is also magic powered. So yeah he has NO reason to not belivie this is possible.

He's not the only one though as Sartanna, fittingly enough, has a day of the dead plan: create a giant monster from the forgotten dead. It's simple, but it works, tying into the holdiay's themes of rememberance and Manny's own mistakes without making him responsible.

Said colossus easily trounces our three main characters and frieda.. and sends Manny and Frieda into the land of the dead. The Land of the dead is beautifully drawn and designed, and it's awesome that Gorge got to really expand it with book of life. I especially love how he draws calevera's, with a real flair to it. We also get a LOT of good comedy from Frieda whose entirely useless marevling over how awesome it is being a skeleton bones while Manny has to keep reminding her that if it finishes she dies… which never really takes. I do agree with her that being able to store a bird in your ribcage would be dope though.

The problem is that while we get the grand occasion of meeting all the past rivera's who wielded the various powers, and as expected of Jorge their designs are dope.. their ALMOST all interchangable, half being good half being bad. I mean one of the is Manny's great Grandfather, Grandpapi's DAD. But other than a brief hug between the two when the rivera's head ot the surface there isn't a lot. The conflict between them and Manny, them being mad he ate their offerings but eventuallyc oming to respect him and Manny becoming contrite, works well enough, it's why the episode is again mor e

Than actually bad, there's just no real personality to them. I get that Jorge likely coudln't get the runtime he wanted and this would've worked better as an hourlong, so I can't fault him there, and that he assumed there'd be more seasons where they could likely have flashbacks, but even with the small time other than one of them being a pirate, there's really nothing special other than neat designs.

Thankfully while most of them have no real personality we do meet one whose actually intresting and if Jorge was going to just pick ONE and stick with it this was the one. El Tigre. No not Manny.. THE ORIGINAL El Tigre. The first rivera and the one whose belt Manny inherited. He's a neat glimpse at what Manny could be both in good and bad ways: the good is that he shows off new powers Manny likely woudl've gotten had Nick not been nickleloden and we got more seasons: extending his claws, a firey roar, and the ablility to summon an ancient tiger spirit, an abliity that could be something all rivera's could do with their respective animals if they tapped into it but as seen by their confusion something Papi and Rudlopho haven't learned of. There's a lot of potetial here that's sadly untapped thanks to teh series short run, seriously Paramount give it a revivial come on.. or at least put it on there COME ON.

The bad.. is that El Tigre I didn't pick a side.. thus he developed two personaliteis instead, one a hero, one a villian and flip flops between the two. It shows that if Manny dosen't pick a side or find his own path between them, it could destroy him. And the potetial is there: Manny's being asked to pick between the two people he loves the most and can't just pick both: while his grandpapi and dad will always love him whichever side he chooses will turn one of them into an enemy. It's a stark cautoionary tale while also showing that this man is damn badass, kind and the kind of cool masked vigliante Manny could be no matter what side he chooses. The two are also great togehter with El Tigre Senior easily accepting his younger legacy and helping tutor him. It's also nice in that while Pantera and Loco take intrest in Manny there's no agenda to push him to a side here. El Tigre I just wants to help and leaves Manny in the hands of his family to figure it out, knowing whatever he decides, it's his path and he'll take one unlike him.

The finale is also awesome. Naturally the two sides split off into heroes and villians and it takes Manny shouting them into working together to save the day? how? (Something out of my butt)

yeah while the "Rivera Super Awesome Macho Blitz" is well.. super awesome, it comes right the fuck out of nowhere. I checked it's wiki entry: it wasn't in any other episode before this. Manny just brings it up as a possibly suicidal super move. It is a neat one, as it's a fastball special but instead of just throwing a guy, each rivera accelerates like ar ocket, then slowly one breaks off leaving the last one as a human bullet, with Manny having to pull out the ancient tigert spirit which WAS actually foreshadowed , to get to the finish line. It's an ass pull sure.. but it's so gloriously cool to see all the riveras in one attack that's so neatly thought out it dosen't matter.

So the rest of the Rivera's head into the sunset, Manny has a newfound respect for tradition, and everything is good. This episode.. is as I kept saying okay. it's not at it's full potetial but it's still enjoyable, still has good worldb luiding and tha tfinal attack really is something great. It's just too short for it's own good but what we have is still pretty great. Thanks for reading, consdier joining my patreon and viva los muertos.

Life in my Stomach: A Songfic

Quick author’s note beforehand; this story does deal with heavy stuff like miscarriage and other bad stuff so if you don’t want to read it just scroll past now. The song this is based off of is Life In My Stomach by BMike and I’m linking it here so you get a feel for what this story is about, but with a twist at the end. This is a TBOL/El Tigre fiction based around Sartana of the Dead and if you like some delicious angst, this story is for you. It’s also a modern mortal au so nobody is immortal in this. Here is Sartana’s lullaby but instead of mandolin it’s supposed to be guitar so here’s a guitar version without the vocals. Tristán belongs to @the-musical-cc and Etapalli belongs to me. Alazne belongs to queenxivory (account deactivated). Now, let’s get into the story

Sartana stared down at the positive pregnancy test with tears in her eyes. Her head was a mess of thoughts swarming her brain. She was nineteen, still too young for motherhood. But she was getting married to Jorge, the father of the baby now growing inside her, in just a week. But Jorge hated children, despite being eighteen and only a fledgling from childhood, he was always shouting at them on the street and throwing food at the children who played in the alleyway behind their apartment. He also hated her many siblings, at least the ones who were still children. Sartana only had nine biological siblings but her parents ran a foster home that saw many children throughout the course of her life. Often when the foster children did leave, they’d always keep in touch with the family and some children begged Catrina and Xibalba to adopt them for good. Her youngest biological sibling was her brother, Tristán, who was six years old. Jorge could put up with him. It was really her sisters, Etapalli and Alazne, who he hated. Before long, Sartana felt great joy at the thought of raising a child, half of her and half of Jorge. She swore she could feel the baby squirming around and growing inside her, despite only being eight weeks pregnant. Her hand instinctively went to her stomach, giving it a small caress as if to let her baby know she was there and she loved him more than anything in the world.

“Absolutely not.” Was Jorge’s reaction when she told him. “You’re going to get rid of that baby as soon as possible. It’s only going to slow us down.”

“I’m not getting rid of my child! It’s my decision to make and not yours!” Sartana became angry. “You said we could have a big family like my parents have someday!”

“That was a long time ago, Sartana. People change. Now, I’m telling you to get rid of that thing! I want nothing to do with it!”

“It’s my body, Jorge. This baby is growing inside my body so I’m making the decision to keep them. If I wanted an abortion I would have asked for one by now.” Sartana covered her stomach protectively. Jorge sighed in defeat.

“If you decide to keep that little monster, you’re giving him up for adoption. I don’t want anything to do with him. We’ll talk about this after the wedding.”

A week passed and Sartana collapsed on her bed in tears. She couldn’t believe her fiance would dump her at the altar in front of their family and friends, citing their child, which she hadn’t told anyone else about, as a source for why he was leaving. She folded her hands over her lower belly and whispered to her child, though he couldn’t yet hear her.

“Te siento pateando angelito No te preocupes por el dolor, Porque mamá estará aquí hasta que veas mañana. Siento tu vida en mi estómago, prometo que la protegeré porque nadie está por encima de ella. Y aunque tu papá quiere quitarte la vida, debes saber que nunca lo dejaré porque se lo digo todos los días; Ves esta vida en mi estómago, sin importar si me ayudas como padre, me va a encantar.”

Catrina opened her eldest child’s bedroom door. She sat next to the wronged woman and held her close. “Lo siento mucho mijita.” She whispered with tears in her eyes. “Are you really... pregnant?” Her voice was laced with fear of what would become of her daughter, knowing how cruel Mexico was to single, unwed mothers. Sartana nodded in confirmation.

“He left because I didn’t want an abortion or to give Mi bebé to the system.” She wiped her eyes. Catrina hugged her daughter tightly.

“It’s not going to be easy, but it will be okay and I support you no matter what, mi vida.” She kissed her forehead. Sartana hugged her mother back and cried into her shoulder.

Months passed and Sartana was a month away from her due date. She now lived in a tiny studio apartment and worked three jobs to get money for herself and her unborn son. Her parents had offered to pay for stuff but she refused, except for letting them buy her diapers. Jorge was refusing to pay child support and she was taking him to court over it so to bring in a little extra money for herself and her baby. Now she sat on her bed strumming on her guitar a song she had composed for her little one. She heard a knock at the door. she pulled herself up with much effort and went to the door to open it. There stood Jorge, in the flesh.

“Are you ready to be a father and take care of your son?” She crossed her arms, murder in her eyes.

“No. I’m here to keep you from taking me to court over that little monster.” He stared back at her with a cold glare. “I’m glad I ditched you, you lost all your looks when you decided to become a mother.”

“Enough with the snark. I need the money to feed myself and my son and to keep us from ending up on the streets and three minimum wage jobs isn’t going to cover that.”

“Serves you right for keeping it-”

“Him. He’s a boy. A living, breathing baby boy. Not an ‘It’ or a ‘little monster’. My son.” She interrupted him with anger.

“Don’t talk to me that way! Listen, I’m getting married in a few months and my fiancee says she’s going to call it off if I have to be a father to that little creature. It’s not too late for a late-term abortion, Sartana. Or you could give it up for adoption.” He showed her a form. She grabbed it out of his hand and tore it in two.

“I will never give up on my son, tu pinche pendejo!”

“¡Odio a tu hijo! ¡Ojalá te deshicieras de eso!” Jorge shouted, stepping into her apartment. Sartana pushed him into the shelf. “Oh now you’ve done it.” He shoved her to the ground and grabbed her hair. Her eyes filled with tears as she tried to fight him back, but he was straddling her and had the upper hand. pressed his decorative cane into her chest.

“Get off me! Help!” She cried, trying to fight back.

“Stop screaming you bitch!” He slapped her. He kneed her in the stomach and she felt a popping sensation. She cried out in pain and shock and tried to wrestle him off of her. She managed to get him off her for a minute and tried to crawl to where her cell phone was to call for help. He stood over her and grabbed her phone, throwing it to the ground and smashing it. “I’m sorry I have to do this. Adios, mijo.” He kicked her in the stomach as hard as she cried and screamed. She felt frantic kicking and confused movements from her baby and felt blood leaking from between her legs. Jorge left the apartment. Sartana rubbed her belly and whispered to her dying son “I’m so sorry mi vida. I’m so sorry I couldn’t protect you. I love you.” She sobbed and crawled to her bed.

The baby had stopped kicking long ago and she couldn’t call for help or drive to the hospital. Sartana, now in active labor delivering a dead baby, was in her bed waiting for the urge to start pushing. When it finally came, she gripped the bedsheets and the headboard and cried as she started to deliver her dead son alone in the middle of the night.

After almost an hour of pushing, Sartana felt her son’s body leave hers and felt her own body relaxing. She reached for between her legs to pick up the baby so she could hold him before she said goodbye. She started crying uncontrollably when she saw him. If he hadn’t just left the warmth of her body, he would have been ice cold. His eyes were closed as if he was sleeping and his mouth was pouting. He had a little tuft of black hair on his head and he was covered in bruises from Jorge’s murder attempt.

Sartana held him close to her and sobbed. “Lo siento mijo. Lo siento mucho.” She wailed. She began humming the lullaby she’d composed for him one last time as she cuddled him for the first and last time.

After a minute or two, she saw his arm move and she felt his chest start to rise and fall. She thought she was going crazy, until she heard him start to whimper and cry. She shot up and looked at him. His body had regained heat and he was squirming around in her arms. He was alive. Her tears changed to that of relief and joy and she hugged him.

Soon a sliver of common sense took over her and Sartana got to her feet and grabbed scissors to cut him off the umbilical cord. After the afterbirth had passed she grabbed a blanket and her flipflops. She wrapped her baby in the blanket and got into her flipflops. Her whole body ached but she knew she had to act fast or her son would surely die. The hospital was two miles away and her car had broken down a few days prior, just her luck. It was pouring rain out, thunder crashing and lightning flashing. With determination that only a mother can have, she began the trek to the hospital.

It was hell on Sartana’s already damaged body. Blood was still running down her legs and her face was bruised. She stumbled and fell a lot, due to the loss of blood and her legs giving out. A few times she almost passed out and she was ready to give up and let death take her. Sartana’s life didn’t matter to her at all. She hated herself. She would have killed herself a long time ago if she didn’t have her baby to think of. But she had to make sure her son survived. She had to make sure he was okay.

She collapsed about two blocks from the hospital, her body gave out and exhaustion took over her. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t get up from the flooding sidewalk. “I’m sorry mijo. I’ve been such a horrible mother to you.” Sartana whispered as she held him close to her chest. She felt consciousness slipping from her and could almost feel herself dying. She heard two men’s voices in what seemed like the distance, it was like hearing them underwater or through earmuffs. She felt strong arms pick her up as she fell unconscious.

When Sartana woke up, she was in a hospital room hooked up to IVs and a breathing mask over her face. She felt nauseous and dizzy. She tried to sit up and regain her bearings but felt a firm hand on her shoulder pushing her back down. She couldn’t see who it was due to tunnel vision. She turned her head to look at the mystery person. It was Xibalba, her father. He looked like he’d been crying but he had a relieved smile on his face. “It’s okay mija. It’s just me. Just relax. You’re safe now.” He said softly.

“Where is my son?” She croaked out, looking around. “Is he-”

“He’s alive, but just barely. It’s a miracle he survived. Your mother is with him in the surgery room.”

“Surgery room!?” Sartana shot up again and tried to get up but her legs felt numb.

“Relax. I’ll explain.” Xibalba pushed her gently back into the bed. “Whatever happened to you two, his lower leg bone was crushed beyond repair. They have to amputate it but when he’s older he’ll be able to have a prosthetic.” Sartana burst into tears. Xibalba sat on the bed next to her and held her hand. “These two young men found you on the sidewalk and drove you here. You were hurt pretty bad but you’re going to stay a few days here and be okay. One of them actually stayed to see if you were doing okay. I can get him when you’re doing better.” He wiped her eyes with a tissue. “You’re exhausted, mija. Get some sleep.”

“But my son-” Sartana protested.

“I’ll wake you up when they bring him back from surgery. I promise.” Xibalba kissed her forehead. “But he needs you to rest.” Sartana didn’t argue again and fell back asleep.

The next morning, if Sartana hadn’t woken up in the hospital room and without her baby bump, she would have assumed it was all a horrible dream. But she woke up in the hospital room. She looked around the room but didn’t see her son. She assumed the worst and closed her eyes, thinking of ways to kill herself. A nurse came in. “Oh, you’re awake. Don’t worry, your son is okay. He’s in the NICU recovering from surgery. They’re keeping an eye on him in there.” She explained. Sartana breathed a sigh of relief. The nurse took the breathing mask off her. “Your mother is with him. The police are here and want to ask you some questions on what happened. Then you have visitors to see you. Do you want breakfast?”

“Si por favor.” The young mother breathed. “Send the police in, please.”

Sartana filled in the police on all she’d gone through while eating her breakfast, which was surprisingly good for hospital food. She sat in her bed with her cup of coffee when she felt a presence at her door. She looked to the door and saw a tall, strong looking young man with a guitar strapped to his back and a tote bag in one hand. He looked disheveled, like he hadn’t slept in a while. But he still had a charming smile on his face. Sartana could feel her face heating up, but she wasn’t too keen on seeing a strange man so soon after she’d been assaulted. “Can I help you?” She asked in a low voice.

“I just wanted to make sure you were okay. My name’s Ernesto. Mi amigo and I were walking home from a party we were playing for and found you on the sidewalk.” He said in a smooth voice that sent Sartana’s ragged heart fluttering in her chest.

“Oh! You were the one who saved us? You stayed here this whole time?”

“Of course. I wanted to make sure you were okay. Well, actually that’s a lie. I stepped out only bring you some things.” He walked to her bedside and placed the tote bag on her bed. She looked inside and saw some assorted food items and a baby onesie.

“Thank you.” She whispered. “But why? Why would you do that for a stranger?”

“You needed help and you’re not going to be able to live on hospital food. I don’t know what you like so I just threw some basic stuff in there like soup and bread.”

“Well you got the red velvet cupcake right. It’s my favorite cake but I haven’t eaten it in a long time. Didn’t want to expose him to bad dyes.” Sartana said, referring to her son.

Ernesto looked at his watch and then back at her. “Listen, I have to head out but if it’s okay with you, I’ll come back later.” He took her hand and gently pressed a kiss to the top of it. “Adios... Oh I don’t know your name how rude.”

“Sartana. My name is Sartana.” She blushed lightly.

“I’ll see you later Sartana.” He kissed her hand again before leaving her.

Later that day, Sartana held her son. He was sleeping peacefully now and was doing well. “I think I’ll call him Malachai.” She said. The nurse wrote something down on the birth certificate but then had a horrified look come over her face.

“Lo siento señorita! I accidentally wrote it down as Machete! I’ll go get a new one!” The nurse was about to leave when Sartana stopped her.

“No. Machete has a nice ring to it. I think I like it better than Malachai. I’ll keep it.” She smiled and gently rocked to him. “A machete is a weapon, and my son has a fighting spirit. It’s perfect for him. Machete Ángel-Equihua.” She gently kissed her son’s forehead.
