this was meant to be a Spider-Verse meme redraw but it became its own thing i guess, also basic gist to au stuff under read more, even though this isn't even canon to any of them oops-

Timeskip au: what it says on the tin, basically focuses on an older Manny and Frida, along with their two kids

Fight or Flight au: basically White Pantera and Voltura didn't break up in high school and ended up getting married having kids, Manny and Zoe, only to divorce later on, also Zoe inherited the belt not Manny

Tigre De Los Muertos au: Manny died pretty damn young and through bullshit ends up as a skeleton and is raised by Sartana, but eventually there is joint custody once he finds out he's a Rivera

Perpetual Rerun au: Manny has been stuck in a timeloop that consists of that time between when the show started and ended for fifteen goddamn years with every loop ending with him dying and being brought back to the beginning again, he is not doing well mentally or physically tbh

The Other Miracle City au: bit hard to explain but basic gist is that Manny is the son to the evil supervillain White Pantera and the grandson of the legendary superhero Puma Loco, along with a bunch of other changes like Frida being a police cadet, she and Manny are still ride or die by the way. This au also eventually has dimensional bullshit with canon(or canon-adjacent i guess) getting involved because i said so

How did Django, Zoe, and Dr. Chipotle meet?

Django and Diego meet first in prison when sharing a cell. Having his Magic Guitar taken from him, Django was next to helpless in escape. Dr. Chipotle, himself, made no attempt to break out, even after Django kept trying to egg him on. Eventually, Chipotle breaks, and accidentally unleashes a hidden power that creates crushing lime trees that break the wall apart.

The two run, but Django is still without his guitar. He starts trying to get Chipotle on his side after seeing what he was capable of, and eventually the two start to let each other in. Diego tells Django how he is dating someone who he used to adore...but now his feeling are hollow toward her and he is unsure what to do, even more so after his clones, Sr., and Sr. Sr., expired. Django tells Diego that he learned he has living relations, as in family of flesh, that he is unsure how to approach. He is a skeleton, after all, and a well known supervillain as well.

In the meantime, Django and Zoe had been encountering one another more and more often. At first it was on accident, passing the same roof top at the same time. Eventually, however, the two started to do it on purpose. They had a lot in common, but also a lot different. They had things to learn from one another.

Soon, Django introduced Chipotle to Black Cuervo, and the three of them decided to work together to take back Django's guitar. In planning, Zoe actually helped take the rose-tint from Diego's eyes, helping Chipotle realize that, indeed, he was more in love with just HAVING someone than actually in love with Frida. She was a concept, and now she was just...there.

When they went to take Django's guitar, it went smoothly, even more smooth then their plan expected. It was the final piece, and they realized the three of them are stronger together than they are trying to fend for themselves or with their families. They formed the 'Tres Terrors', and no superhero could even stand a chance against them.

Book of Life or the secret behind Joaquin’s color palette

Recently me and my friend @skimpilydressedwithanaxe were talking about how each reincarnation of Maria and Manolo have the same color present in their designs,for example Maria has red clothes in each of her life:

While Manolo has black inclusions either in clothes or hair:

But then we noticed how we can’t say the same about Joaquin:

Out of all Mondragons reincarnations,his outfit stands out like a sore thumb,considering that he doesn’t wear anything dark/purple.

Knowing how important the color palette is in Jorgverse (term made by @phoenixlionme ,not me) we decided to analyze and come with different conclusions as to why Joaquin looks so different from Acat or Zoe.

1.The artists simply forgot

This one is self explanatory:the film crew were too busy with the plot then easter eggs.Some could’ve been unaware of the “reincarnation law” going on.

2.The change was put there to visually indicate the dichotomy with Manolo

During many instances in film Manolo is shown as the black sheep in his family,which is reinforced by the fact that his matador clothes are mostly dark.Meanwhile Mondragon’s bright uniform is another indicator of his status as a beloved hero of San Angel.Knowing the proximity of purple to black, the designers decided to change Joaquim's key color to something lighter.

3.Joaquin will embrace the purple in (hopefully upcoming???) sequel

It was said in one of Jorge Gutierrez tweets(or in Wiki if you’re too lazy to search for it)that the Book of Life 2 will revolve around Joaquin looking for his father in the Land of Unknown.That can also be interpreted as Joaquin digging up his past and rethinking his actions,which may lead to the palette change.

4.A symbol of breaking the cycle

The fans of Jorgverse may have noticed how almost all reincarnations of Joaquin are given the role of a “jealous third weel” ,trying to ruin or get between two lovebirds in order to have their crush all to themselves.But at the end of the movie,Joaquin comes off this path,deciding that the well being of his friends is more important that his ambition.So the blue in his outfit was given as the hint that he would feel different about Maria and Manolo’s union than his past lives,therefore the color change.
