He couldn’t help it. You looked like an anime girl and he’d been watching them for as long as he could remember. Anime girls meant sweet goofy innocence to him, they reminded him of home, of when he was a kid and would watch Studio Ghibli’s works for hours on end. Those girls were smart, caring, sweet, brave, self-sufficient, and usually reserved but had a hidden wild side that wouldn’t show to anyone but their beloved soulmates.

He knew just like the girls in those animes, you didn’t need him to survive, but that didn’t mean you’d withhold giving him every ounce of love you had and this fact melted his heart. you weren’t the first anime-looking girl he’d encountered, but none of the previous ones would go beyond the looks. You were the first who held up to the aesthetics of their characters too. He is in disbelief about it! Time and time again, he asks abruptly while showering you with affection “How are you even real?”. Each time, you chuckle and can’t help but kiss him.

He loves every second spent with you, no matter what you’re doing. He loves your silence as much as he loves your excited chatter about whatever happened at work. He loves your baby-talk with his cats. He loves how you sneak up on him while he’s cooking to give him a back hug and distract him from his task by your affectionate kisses on his neck and shoulder. He loves the walks you take late at night, with your fingers intertwined, he loves kissing the back of your hand when his emotions get too strong and he needs to let some out or he’ll explode. He loves how you fall asleep the fastest when your head is buried in his chest, he knows it brings you a comfort you’ve never experienced before and he’s proud of providing that comfort for you. He loves waking up to your kisses, you don’t wanna startle him in his sleep so you start with the gentlest pecks to slowly awaken his mind, when he starts moving around a bit you know you’re halfway there and you move from planting kisses on his hands to his face. That’s when a lazy smile forms on his lips followed by a “Morning princess” in a deep voice.

Because of you, he is now living life more presently. He used to go through most of his days without actually paying attention to what he was doing. Dance practices, performances, plane rides, interviews, all of them would sometimes blend into each other, he jumped from one gig to another, going with the motions. His off days that he’d stayed at home weren’t much memorable either. He would do things just to have done them. Of course, he had his moments of mindfulness too, but they were as rare as they come.

Now though, everything looks more vivid and feels more real, and at the same time, he’s constantly questioning if it’s just a dream. He loves every little thing you do. He looks at you with such adoration as if you’re the only thing that exists in this world. His members warned him about getting a girlfriend, they were worried it’d end up in a horrible heartbreak. He is a pro-idol after all, couldn’t risk having that title taken away from him. But now, he’s even doing better at his job and you are the reason. He wants to make you proud; he wants to prove worthy of having you. He wants to be his best because you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to him and he’s afraid of losing you to someone better even though that’s impossible.

You practically worship him. No word leaves your mouth unless it’s a word of encouragement or adoration. Head to toe, he’s perfect to you. He could do no wrong. You love how he treats you so gently as if you’re made of glass. Even his voice is so gentle with you. You love everything he does.

You love how he flashes you a tired smile as you greet him when he comes home after a long day of practice. You love your quiet nights together, curled up against his steadily rising and falling chest while watching whatever’s on. The point is to soak up as much of him as you can, so you don’t even care what’s playing on the TV.

All your senses are engulfed by his presence. You don’t hear anything but his breaths and occasional airy chuckles. You don’t see anything but his veiny hands around you. You don’t smell anything but his cologne mixed with his scent. You don’t feel anything but his warmth. And you’re craving for his lips so bad that you finally give up and decide to interrupt his TV-watching and give him the sweetest peck on the lips. You don’t expect him to reciprocate as he seems to be fully following whatever’s going on in the show, but he does. He kisses back with so much passion that it catches you off guard and you let out a shaky moan.

When you see his enthusiasm, you get bolder too. You run your tongue on his bottom lip, savoring the taste and softness. He takes the opportunity to enter his tongue into your mouth. Wet muscles lapping at each other, fighting for dominance. He sucks on your tongue and draws out another delicious moan from you. You lost the battle. He leans you back on the couch, as his mouth travels down from your lips to your chin and then your neck.

You’re pliant under his touch. He leaves red angry marks across your neck and collarbone, his teeth grazing the tender skin here and there, then soothing the sting with kitten licks. You’re still hungry for his lips, so you guide his head back up with your hand in his hair. He looks you in the eyes, and his gorgeous shiny eyes change your mind. You don’t wanna just kiss his lips anymore, you wanna kiss his entire existence.

You reach up to kiss the corner of his eye, he knows this is cue for “I’m about to kiss every inch of your face!”. With a swift motion, he changes your position. Now you’re on top of him. You cup his cheeks and kiss his forehead. He closes his eyes and takes the love in. “I love you so much Min, you know it, right?” He hums in response, his lips curling up to a little smile.

You list every part you love about him while kissing it “I love your pretty eyes… your handsome nose… your soft cheeks… your perfect hairline… your delicious lips…” you linger there longer as he won’t let you go continue with your list, his lips latching onto yours as if his life depends on it. Finally, you move on to his earlobe, taking it between your teeth and slightly pulling. “I love you Min” you say in a voice slightly above a whisper. You kiss under his ear and you can hear his breath losing its steady rhythm so you keep messing with that sensitive spot. You wish you could mark him just like he did to you but you can’t have him exposed so you gather all the control in you to settle with gentle kisses.

His hands are aimlessly roaming in your hair and on your back. He manages to sneak a hand up your sweatshirt. You get the hint and take it off. The air’s a bit chilly but who are you to refuse Minho’s need for more skinship? And you’re not wearing a bra, coz why would do? You never wear bras when you’re home! So his hand quickly finds its way to grope your exposed breast.

You yank at the hem of his shirt and he pulls it off, revealing more of his skin for you to kiss. You’re both getting impatient by the second and need more friction. You feel his bulge poking you through the fabrics and his hips involuntarily buck up.

You palm him over his sweatpants as you watch his face turn red. “Jagiya… please…” He’s usually not the one to beg for release but you put a spell on him with your touches and kisses, he’s not afraid of being vulnerable around you. You decide to have mercy on him and release his throbbing member from its confinement. He lifts his hip so you can slide his pants and boxers down.

He’s watching you as you travel down his navel ever so slowly, a kiss here, a lick there. You wanna take your time worshiping him. You feel him shaking beneath you, it amuses you how easily he turns to mush under your touch. So you keep on with the playfulness, ignoring his aching member and latching your lips to the soft skin of his inner thigh. You take your time leaving love marks all over his thighs. His thighs… they make you go crazy; you can hardly control yourself.

His impatient hips remind you of your previous pursuit. His fingers tangled in your hair, but he doesn’t guide your head to his cock, he lets you have full control even though in an instant he could shift the dynamic and get what he needs without all the nonstop foreplay.

You finally stop messing around, bring your lips to his tip and kiss the precum off of it. You run your tongue under the slit and he throws his head back with a guttural groan. A smattering of general updates:

I played Tears of the Kingdom. I didn't really enjoy it. I understand why it was popular though; I'm just not the demographic for these types of video games anymore. I didn't find it creatively rewarding and after a time I sat there thinking 'I would rather be writing right now', and since then I have learnt that writing is made easier by doing things which are not writing, because it makes me miss it. My dad also doesn't really like it but for some reason has played hundreds of hours in it. I don't know either - I think he will take anything called Zelda at this point.

I spectated the Doctor Who David Tennant Special and watched some clips of the new season. I'm not a fan of RTD, and not a DW fan anymore (not for a long time), but it was an interesting study in how studios try to attract old and new fans.

I read a lot of books, and that lie people tell you about all books being good for you is a lie, because a cyberpunk anthology of short stories made me so angry I got heartburn. I think people who say that are saying so because they wish that they could read a lot, in which case I say, yes I think reading is a gift and we should engage with it, however, sometimes I get so physically angry from something stupid/bad I've read because bad writers exist that it gives me actual pain. I am reading Howl's Moving Castle right now and it's very joyful; I am very surprised by the liberties the animated film took! However so far I do think both experiences are worthwhile, and if you enjoyed the Ghibli film, I very much recommend checking out the original book if you want to revisit that world again. The prose is straightforward but a little whimsical, and Howl is very, very funny. I have laughed aloud a few times.

Well, you know I rewatched Dark, and it's funny that during my exile I said 'this is like if RWBY got the ending it deserves' and then, er, I found out it's not renewed yet, and that's still up in the air, which for the entirety of RWBY I have only had one true moment of doubt of such a thing, and that was a while ago.

On that topic, yes, I still ship Jaune/Cinder, believe Cinder's redemption is likely, etc., although there are some more external concerns I would wager now than before. Before I thought it very possible to do without any commercial influence, and it depends what compromises they do or don't end up making or having already made. My analysis of Jaune's arc in V9 may not hold water as much (e.g. if you lean towards the view there were rewrites to cater to growing the audience, or perhaps it's two ideas married? I'm not sure) so I'm going to think about it more, and there always has been a tension in RWBY between what is being expected/baited and what is foreshadowed/said/actually happens.

I figured out how to write again and what was blocking me, so there's that. To talk about it a bit more, since my break I have worked every single day on writing. My key takeaways are that you need a delicate balance of delusion and self-doubt to get anything done - you don't know you can do something until you actually do it - and every excuse I invented for not writing was not the reason I was not writing. I can write with a migraine beginning to set in on an uncomfortable desk where I can't even rest my elbows properly on the end of a bed with no back support without aircon in the middle of summer before I've even taken my hair out from bedtime plaits in my pyjamas. I didn't even expect to get my fic done right before midnight, actually I was like 'well lol that's not going to happen, I'll write anyway though, fuck New Year's' because I wasn't doing anything, and then I finished and looked at the time and was like ooooh. I actually completed my goal! So I'm very proud of that. Anyway writing is breathing, to me, I go crazy if I don't do it, no matter what it is, and every single piece of nonsense advice of productivity was not helpful, ever, but I did figure it out. Also admittedly I got a fire burning under me again because I found out I was actually right about Raven, in which case I took that as a sign from heaven I was on the right track. One should hope.

I am excited about Dune Part Two, yes, although I am trying to avoid Villeneuve talking about the film because I know all the marketing is basically directed at people who aren't Dune fans, and I have to see it for myself to see what it's worth. I enjoyed the first film, and Villeneuve seems excited to direct Dune Messiah, in which case I am willing to do whatever possible to make that happen. Because that's about as complete a story you're going to get in a major motion picture adaptation and it would be So Fucking Good.

Ok so my copy of dreamworks trolls band together little golden book has just arrived today

(Don’t worry I’m not gonna post anything spoilers on here I want everyone to watch the movie 🍿 like I’m planning on doing)

Now I’ve seen some posts saying it’s ok to pirate this animated film because dreamworks is a big animation company

That is the lamest excuse I’ve ever herd

Dreamworks isn’t Disney; it’s not got the funding to buy out other animation companies like Disney been doing; it doesn’t own a a bunch of parks based on it’s movies/ shows all over the world; plus dreamworks pays their writers/ animators/ artists for the work they do

Dreamworks started out as a group of animators who Disney screwed over after treasure planet movie was made by them (witch is a very underrated flim) ((also it’s what I’ve herd from a lot of animation fans have told me about dreamworks animation history))

Look I get not being able to afford to see a movie or it never being available in your part of the world so that’s why you pirated I get that excuse but if you can afford it and have the time and can get it on dvd then don’t be a cheapskate go pay for it but if you can’t I get it no hate to you

It’s the cheapskates people who like to put every animated film company as like Disney when no the others are not Disney in fact Disney the only one right now who can afford for many people to pirate their films/ movies/ shows right now

I mean they own stars wars and marvel AND Pixar

They we’re it’s competition and they just bought them over so that they can do whatever it is they want

The competition they have now is studio ghibli: dreamworks; and maybe Sony animation

Too often Disney gets away with how they handle their artists/writers/animators and even it’s actors (Disney has a lot of skeletons in their closet and not talking about jack skeleton here; I’m talking about the stuff alot of people like to ignore and just say oh it’s *Disney* we’re just gonna ignore it because it’s them)

Also if you think pirating doesn’t effect a movie series

Let me remind you of dreamworks Rise of the Guardians (you know the movie with Jack Frost the character so many like to ship with Disney frozen Elsa character? You know him)

That movie cost a lot to make but it didn’t make enough for it to have it’s story continue; they were planning on fleshing out Jack Frost’s story more to go with the books the movie was based on but being as soo many had pirated that movie the year it came out they couldn’t get the money together for that so those plans were cancelled

Because it was pirated to kingdom come

It was at a time before streaming services were a thing and people didn’t want to wait for it to finish being aired AND couldn’t wait for it to come to dvds either so any ideas they had to continue the story got cancelled this no more story of teenage Jack Frost or even about night light (character from the books) or anything

So look I get it if you can’t afford it and it’s not coming to your part of the world so you pirated the movie but could you at least wait until after the movie been out in and makes it to dvd before you pirate it?

And if you can afford it; have the time AND can get the dvds AND it’s showing where you are

DO NOT BE A CHEAPSKATE

Go pay for it to see it it could all the support it can get

This isn’t a Disney film that can afford to lose a few dollars

If you want trolls to last as long as my little pony; transformers; Care Bears; kung fu panda 🐼 and teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 🐢 have done then

WE NEED TO SUPPORT it however we can (within reason; don’t make yourself broke for it ok thank you)

Just don’t let yourselves turn into poor Floyd’s captors who are killing him for their own gain not caring that they are killing him for their own selfish gains

If you can’t afford ok I get it but please be patient and don’t post spoilers for others who are planning to see the movie maybe try to wait until after the movie comes to dvd; also if you can check out the books while you wait if you can

Because we all want this movie to do well

We all don’t want a repeat of what happened to rise of the guardians movie to happen to trolls band together ok

Who orders takeaway?

Honestly, while I do think Rock has a marked interest in learning to cook, and I do see him seeking advice from Shiro while in Nanba, I think that for the most part, he is guilty of really abusing takeaway and delivery. Not only is his appetite huge, but Rock really is a very adventurous eater in that he likes to explore different cuisines and different dishes, not all of which he can easily recreate at home.

Who has the more adventurous love life?

That one is easy, since it’s canon that Jyugo has no love life, Nico’s not likely to have had a lot of romantic experience, if any at all, in my opinion, and Rock’s got a very short, safe dating history. Meanwhile, even shown in canon, Uno has a real love for love. He has dated a lot, is always interested in dating more people, and really is someone who desperately kind of craves the security, fun, and romanticness of being in a relationship with someone.

Who is better at keeping secrets?

Honestly, it really depends. Rock is really pretty good at keeping other people’s secrets, but only if he thinks the secret in question is actually serious enough to keep secret or is something that would hurt the other person to have known. If he thinks what he was told is silly or stupid or harmless, he’s not going to work hard at keeping it a secret. Uno is pretty good at keeping secrets, until he’s in an argument with that person, where he might, in his temper tantrum, kind of use it against them, though he will genuinely feel horrible when he regains his head for doing so. Jyugo is really good at keeping his own secrets, but not so great at keeping other peoples, though he tries really, really hard. Nico just shouldn’t be trusted with secrets period.

Who knows every rumor?

Uno is one hundred percent that bitch. He loves drama and secrets and gossip. It gives him life. Like, no kidding, this man unironically watches soap opera just to get that little bit of extra drama in his life. He goes out of his way to be caught up on all the latest gossip in Nanba, and he’s shook whenever someone tells him gossip he’s never heard before. Like, give him a moment, he needs to go find out every dirty detail and every fact about this right this second.

Who suggests a movie night?

It’s usually Nico, and usually it’s an anime movie. He went through a period where he would beg the others to watch Studio Ghibli movies with him and somehow, even though not all of them are into either those particular movies, or in some cases, not even into movies period, they have a really hard time refusing Nico. Might have something to do with Nico having the biggest, softest puppy dog eyes that he shamelessly uses when he’s trying to get his way.

Who tries to convince the other to try skydiving?

Again, it would be Nico. I do feel like Nico really loves the idea of all extreme sports and he wishes he could go and do all these things, but with his body the way it is, there’s not a lot of sports in general that Nico can partake in. Skydiving can be done even with his weaker body, and I do think it’s definitely something that would be on Nico’s bucket list and something he’d want the others to do with him.

Who is the holiday planner?

While the prison really does do most of the holiday planning, I think Uno, among Cell 13, does the majority of the planning within the cell and he’s got the most opinions on how to go about celebrating, be it decorations, activities, anything along those lines. He really does want and value the other’s opinions; he’s not a dictator or anything when it comes to planning, but he’s definitely the one most enthused by the actual act of planning itself and the one who is best at being organized and thinking of the step by steps.

Who spams the other with memes?

So, assuming they did have cell phones, I could easily see both Uno and Nico spamming the other two with memes all the time. Rock forgets to charge his phone a lot and doesn’t always see the memes, but he’ll emoji react to the ones he does see. Jyugo doesn’t get memes or emojis, to be honest, someone please teach this boy how phones, texting, and all that even work.

Who has never enough money with them and lets the other pay for things?

It’s either Rock or Jyugo. And it’s not that Jyugo doesn’t have the money – he just doesn’t think to carry money on him. In Rock’s case, it’s hit or miss if he does have the money and simply forgot his wallet or if he’s deadass broke and is using not having his wallet on him as an excuse so he can skip Uno’s lectures on financial literacy.

Who wants to try a classic sleepover?

None of them, really. Honestly, being in the same cell, they kind of have sleepovers every night.

Who answers their phone at 2 am?

Again, running on the assumption that they have phones…Nico doesn’t bring his phone to bed with him because he has a slight addiction to phone games and would stay up way too late playing them if he did, so he’s not answering his phone that late. Jyugo is likely to answer the phone that late, because he is both a light sleeper and a bit of an insomniac who tends to more nap here and there rather than to sleep through the night. Rock won’t hear the phone in time to pick up if he’s asleep as he’s a rather deep sleeper and he’s probably just waking up as the person hangs up. Uno might answer, but only to scream at whoever thinks it’s okay to call him at that hour and interrupt his beauty sleep.

Who plays pranks?

I think Uno and Rock kind of each do this at times, here and there, but they’re always relatively small and stupid pranks. Jyugo is somehow both easy and hard to prank – the bigger the prank, the more likely he is to dodge it, but the really small and stupid pranks? They get him almost every time. But again, pranks are a lot rarer among this group than you would think.

Who initiates dates for the other?

This is definitely Uno’s territory. He’s so into relationships himself that he really wants that same thing for his friends and he’s really into playing matchmaker, if he ever can, not just for the other guy’s but for anyone in general. Again, the man is in love with the idea of love. However, Uno is picky about his matchmaking. He genuinely has to believe that the two people could work well together and that they would make each other happy for him to step in and start meddling.

Who is more chaotic?

Jyugo tends to be the most chaotic but that’s simply because prison escapes is the only hobby he has, the only thing he really knows how to do. Without it, he kind of gets bored and depressed, and of course the others quickly follow along in his lead, so he’s always the seed of chaos for the poor guards of Building 13.

Who has the more bizarre quirks?

This is kind of Nico’s whole thing. He has so many bizarre diseases, weird symptoms and side effects that can also sometimes be incredibly contagious. Of course, much hilarity ensues because of it, so we all love Nico for that.

Who spends the most money on unnecessary things?

Honestly, it’s a toss-up between Rock and Nico, but I’m leaning more towards Nico mostly because all of Rock’s indulgences are largely food-based, and food is a bit more necessary than all the anime, manga, and video game related merchandise that Nico buys.

Oh I'd really recommend the studio ghibi film adaptation! I can't really speak to accuracy to the source material, but its an amzingly gorgeous and heartbreaking movie. Be prepared for it to put you through the wringer too, its not an easy watch like most of the studios other films

Also, if you're looking for japanese media with a queering of the Jesus narative/parallels, might I suggest the Trigun manga?

(Personally not as fond of either of the anime adaptations, and the movie doesn't really get into that aspect of the story disappointingly tbh, its a one off)

I could also mention the christian themes in mgs, but if you're into death stranding you probably already know about them

Awesome! I love Studio Ghibli and need to watch more from them. My friend GameLargo made a whole video theorizing that DS2 Higgs is gonna be a direct parallel to Howl from Howl's Moving Castle, and I'm absolutely heartbroken about it getting taken off YT by a copyright claim for the film visuals he used, because it was amazing. Thanks for the warning, I appreciate some heads-up about when a film is gonna rip my heart out haha. I love a tear-jerker.

Also, thanks for the other rec! I'll be sure to check it out. Religious trauma go brrrrrrr, I adore religious themes in fiction, especially subversive ones. I was a hardcore Jesus girlie when I was JW, so I still appreciate that narrative in fiction when it's done well and enjoy treating the bible as just another story.

I've heard a bit about those themes in MGS, but haven't played it yet. Although, I may or may not be a regular cast member of a new Kojima-centric fan podcast with another creator soon-ish (I shan't spoil it, shhh) that's gonna require me to play it to discuss along with the group in the book club-esque tone we're planning for, but we're still working on the details and it's all in the "hey wouldn't it be cool if we..." phase that still has a lot of production decisions and coordination ahead, all very preliminary. So that's an exciting possibility on the horizon and means I'll be playing through the series soon.

But yeah, I pretty much believed in Jesus so hard I believed my way right out of my religion and later, Christianity itself. Got some lingering attachment that's been redirected into Sam Bridges as of late, considering the many, many, many parallels (e.g. Jesus getting baptized at 30 and remembering his origins -> Sam being about 31 and getting his BB memories back, Higgs as his Saint Peter/John the Baptist, the association of Christ and physical labor as a carpenter vs. Sam's hard labor as a porter, etc.) Also love comparing him to Heracles, such as the Twelve Labors versus Sam connecting twelve knot cities, slaying of lions, journeys through the world of the dead, so on and so forth.

Happy New Year everyone!

It is now, as I'm posting this at midnight at this point, 2024 in my area. Sure, 2023 had plenty of shitty moments (which I am not gonna talk about here since I wanna keep things positive here), but this year is not all entirely doom and gloom, as there are plenty of positives that happened this year for me. Those include, from the top of my head:

* I got a brand new gaming laptop with an RTX 3050 GPU from NVIDIA, with my own money

* I saw The Super Mario Bros. Movie twice in my local theatre (I even saw a movie at my local theatres twice before back in 2019, being Endgame 4 years ago, meaning this is the second time I've done so)

* I got back into plush collecting. Sure my plush collection in the past few years was small, but it has been growing lately as I got more later down the stretch of the year.

* I've been trying out new foods my mum has cooked for the first time (one of which includes cheesy potato with bacon)

* I’ve gotten into anime series that I never watched before this year (such as Darling in the FRANXX, Idolish7, Ensemble Stars, and Bungo Stray Dogs, and I did rewatch season 1 of JJK and Spy x Family before season 2 of their shows came out (I finished Spy x Family season 2, but I still need to catch up with JJK a little later on) and rewatching Demon Slayer season 1 again managed to make me watch the Mugen Train arc (technically twice, first for the movie and second for the TV-adapted arc) and Entertainment District before the Swordsmith Village arc came out (I was gonna see it premiere at the movies, but I did not get to, but at least I saw the arc when it actually aired on Japanese TVs).

* I saw a Studio Ghibli movie on the big screen, for the first time (I have seen anime movies in my local theatre before though, but this my first Ghibli movie in my local theatre, and it was dubbed too, which I saw to hear Christian Bale, Robert Pattinson and Mark Hamill in a Ghibli film)

* I've gotten more posters throughout the year in addition to the posters I already own. This year, I got posters of Spy x Family, Yu-Gi-Oh! (Duel Monsters, of course), Fairy Tail, Jujutsu Kaisen, Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, Pulp Fiction, Spider-Man, Demon Slayer, Batman and even Bluey! (which Bluey is one of my favourite shows, so I could not resist) I need three more in 2024 then my walls in my room are complete

* I saw two Amazon Prime exclusive shows for the first time (Invincible and The Boys) and they both became two of my favourite shows upon seeing them. And hell, even 2023 was a great year to see them for the first time, as Omni-Man and Homelander are coming to Mortal Kombat 1 which made me a proud fan of both shows.

* I've gotten back into physical media collecting (well I stopped early on in the first half of the year when I got Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, and I thought I was not gonna buy anymore physical media after that, but fortunately, I saw on the internet that people I've known on social media still love collecting physical media as long as they are still releasing them (I'm glad my local JB is still selling them which is a good thing as people are still buying discs for movies in Australia as I saw, despite that Best Buy, on the other hand, is no longer selling them starting 2024), so because of that, I decided to get back into buying physical media again, which this year after I got TOTK back in May (which I pre ordered in January), I got Street Fighter 6 (which I still need to beat the story mode of that), Resident Evil 4 (still need to play more) for PS5, Mortal Kombat 1 (which I pre ordered, and hell, I even got on Steam recently so I can play it on either my laptop or the ROG Ally, which I’ll get to in a little bit, but at least I beat the Story mode of it), Super Mario Bros. Wonder (which I still need to beat), and Spider-Man 2 (which I also need to beat and get the Platinum trophy of it post-game) and I even started to buy physical media of movies/TV shows/anime series (I didn’t buy any shows this year though, maybe I will next year), which are Puss in Boots the Last Wish, The Wizard of Oz, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, My Dress-up Darling, Cinderella (the 1950 Disney Classic), Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (which I still own on DVD and I'll still keep the DVD, but might as well upgrade it to 4K) and recently, The Crow! (which I'll watch later on for its 30th anniversary and maybe again on Spooky month)

* I got the Platinum trophy for three more games (Spider-Man Remastered, Spider-Man Miles Morales, and Bluey the Video game, all for PS5) after Astro's Playroom), so hopefully in 2024 I hope to get more Platinum trophies for PlayStation games

* And lastly, to end the year off with a bang, I finally got the brand new ASUS ROG Ally, also with all the birthday and Christmas money I've saved! Since it is a Windows device and it functions as a gaming PC, I can use that as my new gaming PC (one of these days I will get a docking station for it so that way I can have my new Ally replace my gaming laptop (which I'll still keep for collection purposes) and use it as my new main gaming PC).

That being said, 2023 (despite all the bad things that happened then, including several that happened in my life) I thought was a mixed bag between shitty moments and good moments. It was a shitty year for the bad things that happened (which, like I said, I'm gonna keep things positive here), but the good things that happened to me in 2023 definitely unequivocally saved the year for me from being entirely bad (2020 was still the worst due to “we all know what happened then which I'm not gonna bother mentioned since I mostly focus on the positive oriented stuff, but hey at least it had a few good things that happened for me back then, such as when I got my PS5 pre-ordered and got very lucky when I got it purchased when it was still in shortage (when it first came out, anyway) in early December, and even pre-ordering my first PS5 title which is Spider-Man: Miles Morales before I got said console).

Illumination is rumored to also work on the zelda movie. Here are my quick propositions (assuming it’s a western studio. I know Ghibli would be amazing)

It should be an original story, not an adaptation of any game in particular. An adaption would likely not live up to the source material. It shouldn’t break canon but does not actually have to be canon

Genndy Tartakovsky should direct. He knows silent heroes, well choreographed action, visual comedy, heartfelt drama. He has the experience in a wide range of genres

If not, get a horror director looking to branch out into other genres. Someone who will push action and creature design, plus one particularly spooky set piece

Make it a spooky stop motion animated one-off with designs of the toon games like wind waker, spirit tracks, etc. Think one of the earlier Laika films

Or make it an over arching trilogy like Lord of the Rings animated in a mix of 3D and 2D like what Fortiche did with Arcane

Or stick to strictly 2D but rendered to look 3D like Klaus on Netflix. Either way, blurring the line between 2D and 3D would visually evoke the feeling of a storybook fantasy

If live action, as much practical effects should be used as possible with touches of cgi enhancements. A lot of people make comparisons to the Witcher, Lotr, Game of Thrones but I think those look too dreary for what the games represent. It’s a fantasy world so they can do something more creative and fantastical than just medieval earth but with some monsters in it. The new DnD movie has a more fun look to it and for what they are, Warcraft and maleficent had strong sense of aesthetics. The Legend of Zelda is best suited for animation (see the nearly forty years of video games they’ve made) but I’d be open to seeing this brought to life if done right, of course

It’s not enough that the textures and lighting look “real,” it’s the goddamn Legend of Zelda, they need to pull all the stops and treat this with the same reverence as….(quick, what’s a beloved movie that hasn’t gotten a shitty sequel or adaptation??) Shakespeare! Because it’s a videogame property, studio higher-ups likely won’t see it that way and it’ll probably end up fine, but not “legendary,” not reaching the potential a big epic fantasy adventure can achieve

i had an idea and im definitely not the first person to have this idea but ive never seen it actually done and now i cant stop thinking about it and how desperately i want it.

So you know how its every queer persons dream to open a little bookstore/cafe/library/knicknack shop with lots of plants and a cat or two and live in the flat above the shop with their partner?

imagine this, in an animated cartoon

but add sapphic witches

Two witch girlies in love making and selling potions and charms and food and books to their little town

Maybe they have a magic cat who helps them with deliveries and keeps the customers in check

the art style would be a mix of stuff like the owl house and gravity falls, and studio ghibli (in terms of scenery and settings)

There could be an overarching plot, such as an evil ruler or some ancient prophercy, or it could just be a slice of life, with no grand finale or huge plotline. Or both

Anyway the more i think about it the more i want it. So either someone needs to pitch this to disney or netflix (actually smthg like stan or hbo might be better bc we all know what disney and netflix are like towards sapphic media) or i need to learn how to animate.

Hi hi!! Okay okay,, so I’ll infodump as much as I can about the modern lore here. Rei’s genshin lore is a bit too complicated and isn’t fully fleshed out yet so—

Rei’s a very interesting character in terms of personality. He’s incredibly kind and patient, almost unnervingly so. He’s always been a fairly timid and gentle character. His outward appearance shows that perfectly, but you’d be surprised to find out how dark he can be.

It’s mostly due to his past. Rei had a bad childhood. His father worked abroad and his step mother neglected him. He often got bullied at school as well and constantly got into fights because of it.

Back then when he was much younger, he was moreso of a pushover. He lets others trample on him since he had no idea what to do and he felt as if he deserved it. Until one day, he just… seemed to snap out of nowhere. And the only person to ever help him out during this was Allen, his only friend whom he met in high school.

Most of his character development focuses on this. He’s always felt like an outcast and tried his absolute best to conform to society and fit in. But the pressure put on him by his peers and his step mother was too much for him to handle, thus he simply gave up and lashed out at everyone around him.

He slowly but surely learns to accept himself with the help of Allen. He started thriving during University and became much happier once he left his household and lived on his own. He realized that snapping and lashing out at others was the worst thing he could’ve done, and he regrets it deeply. There’s never a time where he doesn’t feel awful about it.

In fact, this is why he’s so patient and kind. He doesn’t want others to go through what he did, and he doesn’t want to repeat his mistakes ever again.

However, don’t mistake him for a pushover. He isn’t like that anymore either. Rei will put his foot down if absolutely needed. And sometimes he feels a bit bad for it even if it was absolutely necessary and right for him to do so.

Rei’s also known to be pretty sensitive, paranoid, and stubborn. I’m sure you can tell why by now :P

He’s also very passionate, loyal, and sentimental. Not to mention, incredibly hardworking and observant. Rei is an artist who went through so much to get to where he is now. He uses his art as a way to express himself and tell his stories. It would be near impossible for you to stop him from achieving his dreams.

Right now, he currently lives with his husband Lawrence (and their calico cat Elise) and has two adopted sons. The actual story he’s in starts a few years before that, when he meets his husband and works with him as his assistant in an animation studio.

Other than that… there’s nothing else to say aside from a few more fun facts or tidbits:

Rei has ADHD and SAD. He also used to suffer from selective mutism but it’s been treated ever since he went to University

His name is inspired by Juuzou Suzuya from Tokyo Ghoul and Studio Ghibli’s co-founder Hayao Miyazaki

He’s actually my first trans ftm character which is why he holds a special place in my heart. He will forever be my biggest comfort character <3

His birthday is on June 26, his zodiac sign being Cancer. He’s currently 29 but is around 25-27 during the story

He’s an INFP, has a soft spot for grumpy mean idiots like Lawrence, loves strawberries, and is a hopeless romantic

So I got digimon, the pokemon movies, and studio ghibli movies. Still building it up

Also from ac red, idk wth is their pr department doing. During black history month, I suggested to a friend that Ubisoft could have down a post at the end of month like

“Thanks for the Amazing Black History month…but there are more black stories to tell”

Cut to a quick gif of Yasuke putting on his ONI mask (very likely to be in game) and flicking his hidden blade and then say “Full Trailer Reveal In May”

Twitter a shitshow about Yasuke being a lead mainly because of Afrocentrism

But I would tell the executives, to just fucking rip off the bandaid and let people get used to fact Yasuke is the second playable character

Basically it start out with the two protagonists childhoods. Naoi being trained by her father while kid Yasuke is on slave ship.

While show they will fight each other

Then show the tragedy of the hojo incident and Naoi father who will be killed by the Templars

And cut to Yasuke nearly being killed by the Templars only for Hattori Hanzo (who part of the brotherhood) to save him and offer him a chance to join the order

Then the final part of the trailer is Naoi in her marking outfit on a mission being cornered, but cute to Yasuke now in his assassin outfit helping her

Then Yasuke and Naoi standing side by side to symbolize their understanding that they must work together to unify Japan

Sorry for the fanfic, but the issues with non white characters especially black ones is the EXECUTION

If red acknowledged that Yasuke is a outside and DO point out the no gain rule that the Tokugawa established it might be good

Still don't think I've ever even seen a whole episode of Pokemon, Ghibli movies I know and love tho so that's stuff I can approve of at least. Pokemon is fine too, they've been bringing smiles for a insanely long time.

I normally have a really hard time letting people cook for or with me.

This is because (1) I really enjoy cooking and I've been making 99% of my own meals since I was 9, so I just kinda go into a flow state. Often times it takes more effort for me to figure out tasks for other people to do than to just do them myself. That's also why I really love cooking massive, multiple-course meals for things like holidays. It's like a puzzle trying to complete all the steps for all the recipes at all the right times so the food is done when you need it to be, it reminds me of swimming where my mind is so full on the task that there isn't any room for any other thoughts. When I cook, my brain goes as quiet as when I take my (legally prescribed!) meth. (2) I have a really hard time accepting gifts/having people do things for me. This is a huge trap because I love gifts and having people do things, but I have to be tricked into it. I have to either not know until the very last moment or have 0 choice in the matter.

So, my boyfriend (who I've decided I will now start referring to as 'T' here) spent the night and told me he had a little day planned for us. This day included him planning and stressing a little too much over where/what we were going to have for breakfast. He liked my idea of french toast but then he started talking about who would have to go and get the ingredients, and how long it would take etc. etc., jokes on him I planned ahead and already had all of the ingredients.

Now, french toast is something that I have known how to make since I was really little. The woman who was a second mother to me would stand me up on a stool so I could help whisk the batter when I would have it for breakfast. I've made it hundreds of times, whereas T never has.

However, however, roughly 2ish months ago one of my roommates saw my dice and asked if I would teach her to play DnD. Long story short, I am now dming my first ever campaign with 100% new players including 4 of my roommates (the Australians, the Italian, and the other German-American) and the Australian's coworker the French.

I didn't think we'd get to play over break with all the different time zones, but we found one that would work. This meant starting bright and early for me specifically, and that I didn't have time to be any more of a control freak about breakfast besides hastily scrawling some instructions on a torn bit of paper for T.

The session was really fun despite me being underprepared (whoops lol), although I need to start enacting some consequences on Authentic Australian's halfling character because at a certain point, he physically cannot carry this much treasure. I also need to find a way to give Italian a win, because she just has absolutely horrible luck with dice rolls and I can tell she's not as engaged.

T and I shared the french toast after the game finished, and it was really good. One of the things I love about him is how good he is at making connections in his head. It creates the illusion that he's naturally good at most things he tries, but I know that the work is just happening at a faster speed than most people. After breakfast, we got ready to go see a movie. T has been wanting to see The Boy and the Heron for such a long time, and in particular, he was excited to see it with me.

He really, really loves anime and pretty much refuses to watch most live-action tv shows. This is a shame because most of my favorite tv shows are live-action and I don't really like anime. The one exception is Studio Ghibli. My parents would put on their movies in between episodes of Biene Maja (absolute banger) and recordings of Disney Channel (a glimpse into the lives of Real Americans) to placate me on long trips.

Growing up in Tokyo, my favourite thing was that you can turn a street corner from the most artificial place on the planet to a sacred bubble of nature. Watching Ghibli makes me feel like I'm sitting in the abandoned lot near our apartment that had become reclaimed with tall grass and wildflowers. It reminds me to look for the shrines on the side of the road.

He bought the tickets, I bought the popcorn. The theater was empty except for us. That night, I made roasted sweet potato and chickpea bowls with black rice, crispy kale, and hummus.

Networking after the Pandemic is hard for me, probably hard for other people too. Tonite, I went to a art show ending reception at Lutetia Cafe and tried to network with people. It was hard, because I couldn’t find topics to talk and sometimes the topics were not compatible with some people. Like when I talked about Paul Frank and Studio Ghibli to this lady, she didn’t know any of them. Maybe Paul Frank is not that popular, but I find it surprising that the lady didn’t know Studio Ghibli.

That lady likes art history, so I probably should have talked to her about Uffizi in Italy or the Renaissance. Either way I should have done some homework before going to the event. It was so much easier to network in Hollywood, because majority of the people were animators. The next art show at Lutetia will be about ceramics and I don’t anything about ceramics other than eating with them. So I need to do some homework about ceramic art before I go to the opening ceremony.

Including but not limited to: Establishing Shots, Cluttered and Non Cluttered areas, Natural and Man Made environments, Extreme Weather conditions, various Renders ect

Including basic shapes, rendering different materials, Weaponry, Machinery, stationary, electronics ect

Food items

I have drawn food once, but for the Studio Ghibli vibe I wish to continue to attempt to draw Any and All different types of culinary dishes - of course practicing Rendering and also including Cooking Utensils, Crockery, bake ware etc

Plants

Treees

Shrubbery’s

And other different facets of Nature

P e r s p e c ti v e s

I want to be able to draw a Fisheye perspective for Buffoonery purposes

Learn how to use Watercolours and/or how to paint with Gauche

The Effects of the medium look Rather Attractive, yet are apparently temperamental. How Quaint

Hands. They Need Work.

ESPECIALLY when hands are Using Things (see above categories: Holding a Spoon, typing on a keyboard, just holding objects and interacting with something other than The Air, pockets and gestures lol)

Different articles of clothing (hell, all of them- fabric weights and behaviours while interacting with the objects around them)

Shoes especially

More dynamic Poses and building structure within a gesture

Maybe do a few studies in Sports poses? (For dramatic effect - a Baseball bat can turn into a Sword if I really wanted to)

Get better at forms and shapes overall

Learn a couple of different Art Styles (I’m looking at the Disney/Pixar Concepts style, a comic book/analogue style and a Semi-Realistic style (mostly for portraits/big Pieces)

Also do more studies based on looking at Other Artist’s work to figure out What I can Incorporate into my own stuff

Lineart probably needs some work as well (digitally)

Pick. A Git Dang. Colour (this applies to digital art)

Speaking of which: do more digital Art

Try out different softwares (looking at you, Krita Animate. And maybe Clip Studio Paint, if my Broke Hoona can afford it)

Practice Animation

By the end of the year I would like to be able to animate a walk cycle that is Smoother than a Baby’s Bottom

Complete at least One AMV (either a short or the whole song) -

I’ve a running file of about 15 different ideas since 2019, so if I don’t have at least one done by the end of this year Then We’ll I Guess I’ll try Again Next Year

Okay wow this took a really long time not so much for writing but for the research.(Also cus I got called into work for 3 hrs which wasn't planned) I honestly knew nothing about DID when you sent in the ask but I did want to at least look into it before answering you to see if I could even attempt writing it. And wow it's hard to find good articles on this topic. I found some eventually but wow is it confusing. It also seems a bit difficult to write his for since it's different for everyone but I'll try to be vague. I think I have a pretty decent grasp on it now but please let me know it I said something wrong.

Lucifer:

He did read about your DID when looking through your file so he does try to prepare a bit ahead of time

He makes sure all his brothers are aware and tells them not to harass you about it

He also sets up his office as a safe space in case any of you alters get overwhelmed at RAD or something and need to be alone

It's his goal overall to keep you and your alters all safe and as happy as possible.

Mammon:

He doesn’t exactly understand it but he's pretty go with the flow so he'll try to catch on pretty quickly

Out of all of his brothers he is the one who gets along best with any little alters you have

He helped raised his brother so he's just really good with kids And always offers to play hide and seek or tag when a little fronts

Leviathan:

he immediately try to compare it to anime he's watch and how in some video game you can switch characters really easily and stuff. He's really just trying to put it in terms he understands

he happily shares his anime collection using it as a way to know each alter a bit better

He does stick to studio ghibli movies, Pokémon and Sailor Moon for the littles just to be safe

Satan:

he did do a lot of research on it when he was told you had DID

He also has a notebook filled with info on your alters so he doesn’t mess and up

he also as a list of any possible triggers and does everything in his power to avoid those

He doesn't mind the little alters that much but he Aldo doesn't like then in his room. Children + cursed books lying around is bound to end in disaster.

Asmodeus:

has a different pet name or nickname for each of your alters

He'll also have various accessories on hand in case you switch and the alter fronting doesn't like the ones you're currently wearing

He doesn't really know how to act around the littles so He'll just default to asking if you want your nails done

that seems safe and child appropriate right?

Beelzebub:

he has a hard time figuring out why you are several different people but he doesn’t really mind either way

He makes sure to memorize all of your alters favorite foods

He'll happily give any of the littles piggyback rides. It's a good workout after all

he also always has candy on hand for the littles. That is if he doesn't accidentally eat it first

Belphegor:

is really worried about how the attic incident affected you and is afraid he somehow made everything worse

he keeps his distance for a long while watching with what looks to be sleepy inference

but once you get close he can already pick up on the little signs that your switch so he must have been payed attention

he doesn't like how energy the littles can be and he always insists its nap time.

he will let them play with his tail gently though.
