one day cas leaves a lil note for dean in the cupholder of the impala and when dean picks it up and unfolds it his heart does a little flip flop in his chest when he reads ‘when you find this note, come and kiss me.’ and dean is immediately scrambling out of the impala and he catches up with cas in the hallway of the bunker and he pushes cas up against the wall and kisses him breathless. dean sneakily slips the note in cas’ trenchcoat pocket as he breaks the kiss, murmuring against cas’ mouth, “I found your note” and cas beams and leans in to kiss dean again. it’s an hour later when cas finds the note stashed in his pocket, and he immediately makes his way towards the kitchen where dean is cooking dinner and cas nudges dean back against the kitchen counter as he kisses him long and slow and deep. dean shivers and pulls cas impossibly closer by his tie and cas laughs softly against dean’s lips as he says “I found the note” before they’re kissing again. and somehow it becomes a Thing for them. that same little note gets passed around every day, sometimes placed in the laundry room or the dean cave or tucked inside a book or placed in the handle of the coffee mug. there’s always a whisper of “come and kiss me” and far far too many kisses that leave them both weak in the knees and breathless

I’ve been thinking about MOC Dean realising his feelings for Cas.
Or well, he doesn’t realise them. But he feels it. Every time he sees that angel the emotions in him get a bit more overwhelming and it’s irritating because granted MOC Dean is a lot more incapable of understanding his emotions than normal Dean would be. So, these emotions find their natural catalyst: anger and violence. It’s all he feels when he beats Castiel and almost kills him, this blind rage, burning hot and all consuming. The Mark is happy about this outlet but deep inside he knows that when the angel pleads with him, he can’t kill him. So he doesn’t. It’s when he’s cured of the MOC that he realises all these built up emotions in that time are love, that he’s in love with his best friend and it’s during this time that they truly came to show. It’s also at the same time that he realises he can never let Cas know about his feelings. Dean thinks about the times he has hurt his best friend in the past few months alone, thinks about the disappointment in Castiel’s eyes when he saw the Mark on his arm. He thinks about how he made his friend beg, and how amidst all that begging he could see some resigned acceptance to his fate, as if Dean killing Cas is what the angel thought would happen all along. His love is destructive, so he keeps quiet. He protects his best friend. So imagine the irony when multiple years later, after having gone through more hardships than any of them ever thought they could still go through, his very best friend tells him that he is in love with him as well, but his love is now used as something to save and heal. It’s the very thing Dean’s feelings could never do for Cas. And he doesn’t forgive himself for that.

Random Deancas HCs Because They <3
Dean still can't believe that he and Cas are husbands now. Husbands!
Actually, Dean sometimes just calls Cas 'husband' because he can say that!!!
While he still heals everyone else normally, Cas will heal Dean with kisses.
Depending on what position they're in at night, Cas puts his hand on the mark on Dean's shoulder. Just because.
Dean really loves his husband's wings! He gets wrapped up in them when he goes to sleep and he feels really safe.
Cas wearing Dean's clothes because He Knows How Cute Dean Thinks It Is.
Over time, as Dean has become more comfortable with himself, he's become way more affectionate with Cas out in public. Hand holding, kisses, anything.
Dean gets really jealous. Someone could just look at Cas a little too kindly and he goes ape.
Cas does too, but it's not obvious until someone puts their hands on his human.

In 300th Episode when Dean's wish was to get his family and J*hn returned, do you know why he wanted to give everything up again and break that pearl, at first Dean was happy and emotional but then when we went to that diner and met Cas who did not recognized and was robotic, Dean was not able to take that the love of his life, his angel, their memories of the life they spent together was forgotten and he cannot imagine his life without Cas anymore and that is why he was ready to give up his father
That is my HC and I know I am right
My love is selfish, I cannot breathe without you

the craziest thing about the mixtape is it sets up a precedent, we had no idea dean gave it to him because it didn't happen onscreen, we only knew about it because we saw castiel trying to return it.
Tumblr media
so how many other gifts may dean have given castiel that he just kept?? whose gifting or returning wasn't crucial to the main plot and so we didn't get to see??
how many destiel scenes happened offscreen during all those years?? another example of this is them watching tombstone. so many little throwaway lines or moments here and there that basically confirm that for as much insane couple behavior we saw onscreen, there was a whole other level of offscreen insanity going on

Dean asks Cas to teach him Enochian.
So Cas teaches him Enochian.
They sit together in the bunker - chairs next to each other, elbow to elbow, books spread out around them, and Dean learns the language of the Angels from his own.
Dean makes quips about Cas being his teacher, and offhandedly asks what he can possibly do to get extra credit.... Cas looks at him with complete and utter incomprehension while Dean has an internal meltdown at how that came out without meaning it to.
Dean's actually very focused when he has a goal - so he studies and he reads and he's genuinely a good student. He practices his pronunciation (which Cas has said 'is fine' but said it with the expression of someone in pain, so he knows it sucks) while he's cooking or in the shower, and Sam remarks more than once how Dean could have gone to college.
Dean still gets frustrated when he can't remember a certain word too many times, or can't wrap his head around a specific turn of phrase, but he also kind of loves it when he says something and Cas smiles with amusement at what he's said. It dawns on him that he's the one speaking strangely in Cas's language now, instead of the other way around.
The first time Dean speaks in almost fluent conversational Enochian he is so proud and pleased but Cas looks like hes going to throw up, and Dean thinks he must have got something wrong again. He doesn't know that Cas is having to physically hold himself back from immediately exiting his vessel and shattering every window in Lebanon with the force of his joy.

Do you guys ever think about how canonically the vessels that angels occupy aren’t supposed to age (s12e10 when Cas is impressed his buddies kept their same vessels for well over a century. Also apparently Cas tells Jimmy when he first was requesting permission to inhabit his body, that Jimmy would not age while he was doing so.)
…but Castiel definitely ages. Obviously I get that this is simply because Misha himself is aging, but *my* in-universe headcanon is that he’s choosing it, (whether consciously or unconsciously) because he wants to grow old with Dean.
UPDATE: I wrote a fic for this. Enjoy!🐝

au where angels also have a little statue of themselves that they carry on themselves wherever they go and when they're tired or in danger they retreat into their little statue and in laz rise dean finds castiel's little statue and decides to take it with him because it's cute and he has no idea it contains an ancient entity and then keeps it on his shelf and even after castiel reveals himself he lets dean keep the little statue on the little shelf because he trusts dean with his little home

i think it's time we consider destiel looking like current jensen and misha if we ever see the characters again. picture long ass hair and scruffy beards. old grumpy men looking like if you even breathe in the wrong direction they will give you a look so devastating that it might just wither you from the inside out. they're not dealing with any more shit after everything they've been through. and now they get to live out the rest of their lives unfiltered, authentic, and slightly grouchy while they age together.

dean and cas playing the ‘that’s you’ game where they’re constantly pointing at things that remind them of each other but it’s always sappy like dean sees a bee fly past them outside and he’s like “hey look, that’s you” and cas smiles so brightly it rivals the sunshine and cas spots a beautiful cookbook and he nudges dean and is like “that’s you” and dean kisses cas’ cheek and every time cas sees something cowboy themed he always tells dean “that’s definitely you” and when dean spots a rainbow when they’re driving in the impala he taps cas’ thigh and points at the rainbow and says quietly “that’s you”

So, we all know that Cas branded Dean’s soul with the handprint. And then in his last scene left a bloody handprint on Dean’s jacket.
Tumblr media
But, have we ever considered that this last handprint was Cas letting dean go? Like, literally removing the handprint brand he left on his soul? That it’s Castiel saying, “I love you so much that I’m dying for you and freeing you from the claim I made on you. I know you are not mine even if I will always be yours and that’s ok. Please live a good life now that my burden is gone from you.”
And if that’s the case, do you think Dean could feel it? The mark being gone? Do you think that left an emptiness nothing else could fill and that’s one of the reasons he was so fine with dying? Because for the first time since he met him, there was truly nothing of Cas left on Earth or with Dean?

This is close to how I imagine Dean would be like if he got married to Cas.
“He would not fucking say that” IDC!!!!! Also I think he would, actually. I feel like if he let himself be freely happy for once (which he’d have to if he decided to marry Cas), he would act and say shit like that. I mean, Regarding Dean did show us a little bit of what he would be like without all the burden he’s forced to carry, and in Various & Sundry Villains they showed us what he’d be like if he’s openly and happily in love (I get that he was bewitched and all that, but the first guy they hexed didn’t act the way he did).
“I married that guy. How awesome is that?” is just so Dean to me personally. Reminds me so much of his “and our best friend is an angel! Whaaaat!?”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well anyways, I just wanna see him happy. Truly happy. And since the show didn’t give us that, I could at least daydream about it. That’s all.

Castiel CHOOSING to let his vessel age alongside Sam and Dean. He first excuses this by convincing himself he's only doing it to not stand out and it's saving his grace. That it's wasteful to constantly keep rejuvenating cells when he could be using that power elsewhere. It simply makes the most sense, especially when he falls from Heaven to help aid Dean Winchester. The years go by and the vessel is no longer just a vessel, it's his body and he likes experiencing the human process of aging. The wrinkles he's getting at the corner of his eyes, the laugh lines on his cheeks from smiling at Dean's antics, the grey hairs starting to dust his hair. He loves experiencing this part of humanity. Sam and Dean don't notice how odd it is Castiel is aging alongside them. They're human, so they don't think anything of someone aging until it's brought to their attention by someone Castiel is an angel-- vessels don't age. Or at least, they shouldn't. Dean thinks something has to be wrong with Cas' grace, that Cas has been hiding he's hurt or something fatal but Cas tells him there's nothing to worry about. He chose it. He could at the snap of his fingers restore the body back to its original state when he first possessed Jimmy Novak but he doesn't want to. Dean asks why doesn't he. I mean, aging isn't exactly glamourous and it's something a lot of humans would want to skip out on. Cas answers by saying, "I wanted to because... because it makes me feel more like I belong", but Dean notices his stutter. Cas' answer is satisfactory, but Dean knows Cas and he knows when Cas is hiding the full truth. Which causes him to think Cas is lying about something important he should know about and he's determined to find out what.
What Cas doesn't want Dean to know is that maybe back in 2009 he started letting his vessel age to conserve grace where he could or so he wouldn't stand out amongst the Winchesters or make himself seem more alien than he already did. But the real reason he let his vessel age (which he's aware of now) is because he wanted grow old alongside the man he loves and this was as close as he could get to the fantasy.
