I often wonder what the world would look like if pressing local or state level issues people claim to care about generated the same kind of action and enthusiasm that massive national news stories with complicated power mapping do. Idk even when I'm 100% with the people who are up in arms. Like what if just as many people in MA had turned out for the ROE act as turned out to protest the overturn of Roe after the fact? What if the rent control actions were as well attended as the ceasefire actions? I have had many instances where I am trying to get progressive people who regularly go to big demonstrations to show up for something state level they have said they care about and they just won't. And what I'm left with after that is the conclusion that where their interests actually are is feeling like a part of something big and heady rather than accomplishing a concrete goal and that's. Demoralizing.

#i am glad lots of people turn out for the big actions #demanding an end to the assault on gaza is very important #but theres a type of guy (gn) who goes to the big demos #about national or international stuff that the demo itself #doesnt actually put meaningful pressure on #goes to big marches in DC that are mostly symbolic #and never turns out for local or state level stuff #even if its urgent and we have a fighting chance #and its the same kind of thing they just went to dc about #idk im thinking of the difference between the like #sunrise climate “strike” turnout #vs coalitions trying to get new gaslines here stopped or banned #if all the sunrise ppl had shown up for that? maybe!#but it wasnt on cnn or whatever so they didnt

the dc turnout was amazing! Seeing pictures from the London march on the long drive to dc was very exciting and inspiring. there were so so many people and amazing speakers. the march ended up being delayed by a couple hours, parts of the metro were closed and apparently some flights cancelled but even then, in the very cold and windy weather thousands of people travelled hundreds of miles to speak up against genocide and injustice. keep up the hard work all and get home safe ❤️🖤🤍💚

Israel has just bombed a hospital where hundreds of wounded and refugees were taking solace. Journalists in Gaza have reported there was hardly a single body whole in the aftermath (If you can stomach it, there's a video of a father holding what remains of his child). At least 500 people killed by IOF soldiers, who planned this action, got into an airplane and dropped that bomb willingly. The deadliest attack in five wars, according to the Ministry of Health.

Israel has denied ownership of the attack and said it was a misfired Hamas rocket. Originally, they celebrated it on their social media, saying they had destroyed a Hamas target, treating the deaths like an unfortunate collateral. After international backlash, they posted videos to their social media claiming it was a Hamas rocket. The video, though, shows a second explosion 40 minutes after the airstrike, and they edited it our of their tweet in a pathetic attempt at covering up.

Israel has said multiple times that they were going to bomb hospitals. They told doctors to evacuate and leave their patients to death because they were going to bomb, namely: Al Shifa, Shuhada Al Aqsa and the Quwaiti Hospital. Al Shifa housed at least 10.000 refugees and wounded, and worked as a hub for the press because it was one of the only hospitals that still had working generators. Medical crew worked with sirens blaring to signal the hospitals were not empty. This was a purposeful massacre. These people died hungry, thirsty and in pain because of the Israeli government's cruelty.

CNN and other media outlets already tried to pin the blame on Hamas, parroting back the pathetic propaganda being sold by the IOF. Even in death, Palestinians can't be respected and are used to further their own oppression. These people's deaths are not going to be in vain. Within our lifetimes, Palestine will be free.

Take action. The Labour Party in the UK had an emergency meeting today after several councilors threatened to resign if they didn't condemn Israeli war crimes. Calling to show your complaints works.
