(accidentally unfollowed u when trying to send this ask dont mind that) HI i think abt caspian a lot do u have any caspian thoughts? - teddy
(hihihi no worries !!! waving at u very fast)
caspian my beloved <3 <3
very very caregiver coded! he probably regresses sometimes but i don’t have any caspian regressing thoughts as of writing this post and i’ll make one if i think of any yesyes
this man has all the patience in the world. he is the main caregiver of a trauma regressor who hates being vulnerable and will fight anyone who looks at her the wrong way, so he’s very used to getting straight up bitten any time he offers any form of comfort
(gill bit him on accident as a trauma response when he was stressed out small and caspian assured him it was fine over and over and over and gill wouldn’t stop until lizzie came over and was like “i bite him so much here watch” and she just bites caspian’s arm and he doesn’t even flinch and that startles gill into laughing,)
idk. how to describe what i’m thinking. he understands that regressors are different people with different needs and adapts accordingly, so his caregiving style will change depending on who he’s with
Lizzie hides a lot of things behind her anger. when she regresses she’s scared, she’s angry, she screams and cries a lot, and caspian is very good at redirecting and diffusing her anger. he can verbally disarm any attempted arguments and has a very smooth, calming voice, but isn’t afraid to be firm with her when he needs to be
a lot of his caregiving isn’t like. treating his wards like they’re kids? he used simpler words and is gentle with them but a lot of his caregiving is just reassuring lizzie that he’s here for her, that the big scary storm isn’t going to swallow them up, that he still has a heartbeat, see? it’s right there in his chest, his neck, his wrist, (she checks all three every time. one of the signals that she’s triggered and might regress is when she subtly reaches over to check the pulse point in his wrist)
He probably wouldn’t ever caregive for chip but i think lizzie and chip would have a lot of overlapping triggers. if caspian recognizes that one of lizzie’s triggers just happened (usually storms or gunshots, etc) then he isn’t surprised at all when chip regresses
he babysits gill on call all the time. gillion doesn’t even realize he’s regressing but caspian hears the slightly higher tone and the slight jumbling of gill’s words as he starts talking really excited and really fast about usually birds but also about the ship and his crew and the cool surface things he learned and he wants to tell caspian about all of it and caspian just smiles and encourages him through the entire conversation, correcting what he gets wrong and praising him for knowing so much
it’s been an hour since i wrote that first “idk if he would regress” thing and i have a thought now. he does regress sometimes, when he’s super super stressed or triggered out of nowhere, but he prefers caregiving? it’s more comforting and productive to him
when he regresses lizzie goes into Protective Big Sister Mode and takes care of him. she can absolutely carry him around. she is intimidating but loves him a lot idk how to describe what i’m thinking but u get the vibes
i have an image in my head where caspian is cuddling with lizzie (she’s asleep and he’s rubbing her back or petting her hair or somethin) and he’s on call with gill and he’s just happy and content because it’s a beautiful thing, being trusted with this
uhh what else. lizzie has told him, in a moment of quiet vulnerability, that she feels the safest when he’s hugging her and he tells her it’s going to be okay
he and lizzie are very open about the regression stuff. they can beat up most of the pirates they come across so who cares? if someone is mean about it they’ll kill them no big deal, /silly
uhhh yeah i think that’s all i’ve got :3

oh wise sapphire, please tell me more about the Clay Phoenix half brothers au.
Oh boy OKAY If you want to open that can of worms again, I think I've touched on most of these points weeks ago but many cursed ideas took priority after it: [Warning: This is VERY long]
Basically it started because I kept making "clay my beloved" posts and "phoenix my beloved" posts and someone called me a simp and I was like "i cant tell if you're talking about clay or phoenix but who is clay if not just a younger and less spikey phoenix" and then i went "wait yea they look v similar..."
So the "Phoenix and Clay are actually related" idea was born. So I've decided as of right now that Phoenix's mom is the Wright and she changed both her and Phoenix's last name to her maiden name after his parents divorced/his father left when he was young. Then a couple years later his dad has Clay and right now I think he's just out of the picture.
Since Apollo and Clay meet when Clay is crying that his mom died, I kind of figured they wouldn't be able to be related through their mom because Phoenix probably would have heard his mom died and then heard she had another son. I don't think it's stated on the wiki where Clay goes after his mom dies and I haven't played AA5 so idk if it's touched on where Apollo and him live. But I'm going to have him live with his aunt who was still fairly young when his mom died so she just kind of lets him do whatever. I think Clay and Apollo met in middle school so they were around 12.
The actual AU starts pretty much a week or two after Bridge to the Turnabout, so before the trial that gets Phoenix disbarred. Clay is 15/16 and looking through his parent's old legal documents and with his parents wedding certificate, his birth certificate etc, Clay finds another wedding certificate and another birth certificate that his dad was married to a Wright and they had a son named Phoenix.
Clay thinks back to all of the times he heard Apollo boast on and on about this defense attorney Phoenix Wright that "cross examined a parrot Clay! I'm going to be a lawyer just like him!" and he's like "APOLLO I HAVE SUCH GOOD NEWS FOR YOU"
So he and Apollo gather up all these documents and march down to Wright & Co law offices and Phoenix opens the door to these two teenagers like "hello?" and Clay is like "Hi I'm Clay Terran we have the same father. This is my best friend Apollo he's not related to you but he's a big fan so he wanted to come."
And Phoenix "I adopt every child I see" is instantly like, MORE FAMILY??? And he goes around and spends that month introducing everyone to his new half brother and his half brothers best friend. Apollo is awestruck because he's read about all of these people and he's admired so many (but not as much as he's admired Phoenix) and Clay has no interest in the legal system whatsoever so he's meeting these people like "sup?" and putting his feet up on Edgeworth's desk, etc. and Apollo is just mortified because "these are really important people Clay! You can't just ask them if they have the authority to make Pluto a planet again! Show some respect!!"
This is a bit where I'm not sure if I'm going to keep canon or if I'm going to diverge it wildly (im thinking of diverging it wildly):
Apollo really wants to see one of Phoenix's trials in person and who is Phoenix to deny any teenage assistant anything so he brings them both to the Gramarye trial. I think once Trucy shows up and is like "hi! Here is some evidence!! Byeeee" both Apollo and Clay (in Among Us fashion because they definitely played it before the super hype) are like "Phoenix that little girl was sus I don't think you should use that evidence" and then Phoenix doesn't use it
Clay goes and is like "hey unaccompanied girl, where are your parents and where did you get that evidence?"
Zak still disappears and Phoenix adopts Trucy still he just still has his job. Clay assumes the uncle role like a duck to water and Apollo (even though he's v skeptical of Trucy at first because "why is she trying to give illegal evidence to Mr Wright there should be a chain of custody for evidence") also comes to enjoy her company because this is his friends new niece.
Phoenix would still find out that Apollo and Trucy are related at the same time as canon. Clay would just also find out and tell them if Phoenix doesn't.
And also because Phoenix doesn't use the evidence and Kristoph still tells Klavier about it, he's kind of like "hey....why did you know about it and he didn't even use it to benefit?" so that would be a whole other thing.
I think Clay would see this kid a little older than him behind the prosecutor's bench and go "he's weird friend shape" so they would end up hanging out. Clay would think it was cool he was in a band ("Will we be getting free tickets?")
ANYWAY, if you made it this far I have a lot of thoughts for this

Please I want to know more about your clones 🤔🤔
I am so late to responding to this but GLADLY!! I love gushing about them though I have so many (like 50 I think) so I will try to stick to my main group ahh :)
Cross (he/him): Cross was my first clone OC ever, so he holds a very special place in my heart even if I do not draw him often enough. He’s a commander (CC-0044) and was present on Geonosis, though later returned to Kamino to help Alpha with the CC training program.
He got his scar in 21BBY and it’s actually not from the battlefield (none of his scars are actually from the battlefield). The scar comes from being whipped by a lightsaber hilt, which sounds funny out of context, but it wasn’t an accident.
He’s batchmates with @katanrocksketches ‘s OC Asch! The two were pretty close when they were in training, and Cross got his name before leaving Kamino. It was given to him because of his kind of uhhh, “cross nature” or disposition pfft. He softens up a bit between 22BBY-20BBY though the walls go up again after that :’)
Coming off Kamino, he was a stickler for rules and was not a big fan of clones tattooing themselves/dying their hair and whatnot (he didn’t even like having a name at first though his batchmates used it enough that it begrudgingly stuck). After meeting Sunny though, he lets him do one tattoo and ends up getting his number underneath his left eye. It is like, staying to how he believes they should be while also accepting that it’s ok to be individual.
Cross’s favorite color is red because for him, red represents Ando (my Padawan OC) and they are very close (NOT IN A ROMANTIC WAY. He sees Ando as his little brother or kih’vod to protect).
Cross actually does not know a lot of Mando’a because of his belief that they should not try to be seen as individuals. He distanced himself from anything that he considered “individualization”, and Mando’a was included in that. Sunny teaches him a little bit later down the line, and Ando also teaches him and Ten (another clone OC of mine) some Togruti, too
Part of Cross’s strict disposition comes from being subject to Priest’s death circles on more than one occasion (I might retcon that to Adral—a mando OC of mine—because I hate KT Ugh).
By the end of the war, he carries a lot of guilt. He loses a lot of the people he’s closest to because of his actions/orders, and he uh. Doesn’t live past O66 :’) he does get a very quick.. redemption.. arc.. kinda..
Sunny (he/him): Sunny was my second clone OC made around the same time as Cross, and he also holds a very special place in my heart :) I really love clone medics, there is just something about them that makes my brain go brrrr. I also think the irony of his name is great
Sunny’s name was originally Sers, but after writing him for a few weeks, I changed it because I thought Sunny fit better. His name was given to him by his batchmate, Aran, and while he vehemently protested against it, the name ended up sticking. He won’t admit that he actually likes it (though the tattoo and painting of his armor say otherwise anyway)
Sunny is the CMO of the 409th Corps (my OC military group basically). He’s a Lieutenant (or at a rank around there, definitely a CO at the least) and he does not back down. Ever. Even the people who outrank him will fall into line if he tells them to, Jedi included. He is not afraid to pull rank as a Medic, and his resting bitch face can be very scary
On the same line of thought as the rbf, he is basically perpetually scowling. He does not look approachable at all
Sunny loses the entirety of his batch on Geonosis, including Aran who he holds onto while he is dying. The Jedi leading Sunny’s company was.. not accustomed to war and failed to adapt when it was needed. Because of this, Sunny doesn’t necessarily harbor a dislike of Jedi, though he does not really trust many of them in leading positions. He also does not like that there are kids being put in the role of commander, he does see many Padawan deaths (he later comforts a dying Padawan that he was close to, I think I wrote part of that scene for myself and it was kinda upsetting oof) —> he gets his tattoo/paints his armor in order to honor his dead batchmates
Throughout the war, Sunny gets seriously injured only once after going down in an LAAT (where he nearly ends up dying too). Boost finds him, though he’s kinda accepted that he’s not gonna make it (I mean he does but it doesn’t look like he will for a bit). After Flip (younger clone OC) dies, he doesn’t really care if he kicks the bucket either :’)
Sunny is the only one out of my main gang to make it past O66. His chip doesn’t work at all, though he has to fight through his brothers (aha, the only ones who are still alive that he is close with) in order to save a Jedi youngling that was in the medbay at the time. After that, he goes on the run with the kid (clone dad clone dad) and offers his services as a doctor in the outer rim in order to keep them afloat
Boost (he/him) (she/her) [either or, there is no real preference]: Boost has gone through a lot of changes design wise. He started out as Dax, but then Dax became another OC, then she was Boost, though she had kinda short hair that was pushed back by a headband, then his hair was buzzed, and now we are finally at long hair Boost. Idk how to describe, but she is very shaped I think
Boost for his nickname from bear hugging his batchmates and lifting them off the ground when doing so. Also from fucking around in training where he threw another one of his batchmates in order to get from one ledge to another. All around just a name with silly origins that she liked and decided to keep
Boost and Sol are batchmates!
Boost is very tactically intelligent. She’s good at thinking on her feet, sees the bigger picture before focusing on details, good problem solver, etc. He is an ARC after all, there is good reason for his status and rank as a Lieutenant. That being said, he can also be very very stupid in the sense that off the battlefield, he’s oblivious. He does enjoy being the jokester of the group, and he sometimes plays up his dumbassery for jest, though yeah, a lot of people assume that he is not smart because of his demeanor which is very wrong
Boost is terrible. Terrible at braiding her hair. Sol is the best at braiding it, though she would never admit that even if everyone knows it. He started growing his hair out once they were off Kamino and hasn’t stopped since despite the fact that is technically not within regulations. Cross turns a blind eye and Ko (Jedi General) could not care less for inconsequential regulations like that
Boost is really good with kids, but good in the way a uhh.. chaotic uncle/auntie is. He’s a lot of fun to be around with, and being around kids makes him even more rambunctious than usual. He can be what is considered “childish”, pulling pranks and everything but like, he is very emotionally mature and knows when to be serious. Again, a lot of people kinda just boil her down to “dumb” which is really wrong, though it doesn’t bug him a lot.
Boost has a big sweet tooth!! He loves getting sweets when they’re on Coruscant, which they actually tend to visit frequently enough because of Ko’s status as a Sentinel (and also because Ko benefits what the Republic sees as the “propaganda machine” as a prominent General with a good track record).
Boost is romantically involved with @buttsalsa ‘s civilian OC Esta. I reblogged some art of them the other day, they are very cute :D
Boost doesn’t make it to Order 66 :’) I actually wrote out his death and cried after going back to read it LMAO It was rough
Sol (he/him): Sol was made as a package deal with Boost, and I feel bad because I think he gets overshadowed a lot but he is kinda like the rock for the group. When he dies, things really start to crumble but uh!! That is a sad thought for another time. Anyways, like I said, he is basically the rock and also a voice of reason for Boost’s shenanigans
Sol got his nickname after reading through some flimsi that their trainer had given him. He didn’t know if it had any meaning, but he liked the way it sounded and immediately began using it. Boost quickly picked up on it and the rest of their batch was very supportive
Sol loves reading. He specifically likes reading history, and Ando slips him what he can (fun fact, when Sol dies, Boost returns to their bunk to find a couple of holobooks that Ando had left and breaks down aha.. pain). Whenever he doesn’t feel like keeping Boost from causing trouble, he just sits in a quiet corner and reads his books while everything erupts in chaos around him
Sol’s favorite beverage is tea which Ko introduced him to. He has a few boxes he keeps with him when he can, and he shares them with Boost sometimes though he has to add a lot of sugar/honey in order to do that. If he could drink tea all the time, he could. On the flipside, he absolutely loathes coffee and doesn’t understand how Sunny can drink multiple cups on a day
Sol is kinda like the person that everyone is friends with even if they don’t realize it. He’s like.. the perfect emotional pillar, kinda the therapist friend in a group that desperately needs therapy. He’s more of a listener than a talker which is why it’s easy to overlook him, but he insists that he doesn’t mind much. That being said, it’s only once he’s gone that people start to realize just how much he did (aside from Boost who already thought the world of him)
Sol is also an ARC trooper, having gone through the training program together with Boost. He doesn’t have the same tactical knowledge that Boost does, but he’s good at mediating, long range combat, and also working through plans (he’s pretty meticulous). He and Boost balance each other out well, since he is like the “slow and steady” one out of them.
Sol is the first to go out of the main four (second out of my bigger group of six). He and his entire platoon are wiped out in a massacre as a result of false intel.. man :’)
Anyways, thank you for enabling to ramble about my ocs ToT I honestly just needed to infodump shdjf

Ikemen vampire theo x mc where theo and MC become parents and theo has to take care of the baby for a day by himself? LOL if it’s to hard u don’t gotta do it idk if I requested this before lol
Day 26 of Ikemektober!
I haven’t read all of Theo’s route yet, so I don’t know how accurate to character this is - but I hope you enjoy ^_^  Approx. 1800 words of baby filled fluffiness for the ask.
Theo snuggled to his precious hondje despite the insistent sunlight streaming in the windows. She was soft and warm, and it felt good to have her nestled against his chest. If fate allowed, he might have stayed right where he was until Sebas announced lunch. But late morning weren’t for parents.
As if on cue, the twins began to cry. Anna was breathy and quiet, but her sister Akari made up for that in spades. Her cry was demanding and loud, and there was no way to ignore it. Not even for five more minutes in bed with his lovely wife.
She sat up and rubbed her eyes. “Oh - oh, my babies. I’m coming, coming . . .”
Theodorus watched her stumbled from the room, half asleep. She was exhausted since they’d had the twins. It was a lot of work, even with helpful uncles in the manor.
He watched her shuffle back from the nursery, a baby in each arm. They had their mother’s dark, straight hair and their daddy’s big blue eyes. A deadly combination. Theo scooped Akari up and bounced her in his arms. She stopped crying as soon as he held her.
“Ah, papa has the magic touch, hm?” His wife smiled at him. “I don’t think they’re even hungry. They just wanted company.” Anna was settled too, happy to be held. The four of them ended up laid out in bed, the two babies in the middle with their mom and dad on the sides.
Hondje was falling asleep already, with long, slow blinks. Theo felt bad for her shouldering so much of the work with the babies. He wanted to help out - he just wasn’t sure what one did with a baby. They were terribly fragile things.
As if to illustrate his point, Akari wrapped her tiny hand around his finger and started chewing on it. Her mouth was small and pink and it tickled a little.
“Trying to eat me up, eh?” He laughed quietly. Maybe he could try to give his beauty a break today. Let her sleep in, take a long hot bath, eat pancakes in blessed silence . . . all things neither of them had done since the babies were born.
All he had to do was take care of these two feisty little ones for a few hours. Surely . . . surely that couldn’t be too hard.
Theo slipped out of bed, silent as a cat. He carefully lifted Anna and Akari and took them for a chat with Vincent.
“So what I want to do is take care of them all today - but, what do you do with a baby, broer?”
Vincent tickled Anna’s tummy, fascinated by her smiles. He didn’t look up as he replied. “Well, if you want her to have peace and quiet, you should take them out someplace.”
“Like a gallery or a cafe?” Theo tried to imagine it. All he could picture was Akari and Anna trying to eat random items and crying a lot.
“No. Someplace they can just . . . be babies. Maybe take them for a picnic?” Vincent finally looked up.
“A baby picnic? I guess that could work.” They would stay on the blanket, safe and sound, and well out of their mother’s hair.
“Perfect. Why don’t you get them dressed and I’ll meet you out front with some picnic supplies.” Vincent smiled widely.
“Are you coming with us?”
“Of course! I can’t miss a chance to dote on my sweet nieces.”
Theo carried the babies out. At eight months, they were getting a little heavy but they were still too small to walk. He didn’t mind the weight but he wished they wouldn’t wiggle a kick so much.
It took Theodorus almost an hour to get the little ones bundled up for an autumn day. Long sleeve dresses and little warm leggings courtesy many shopping trips with Comte, mittens and boots from Arthur and Dazai, and a red scarf for Akari, and a yellow one for Anna. He topped it off with little knit caps shaped like an apple and a pumpkin. The hats and scarves were handmade by Sebas. He’d taken to knitting cute accessories for the girls in his spare time, and seemed to really enjoy seeing the twins wear his creations.
“Why do my babies look like they’re part of a harvest festival?”
Theo turned to see his beauty in the doorway, making puppy eyes at him. “Mijn knabbel, I was going to surprise you with a day to yourself.” He felt ridiculous having to tell her about it. Couldn’t she see what he was doing?
She crossed the room and put a kiss on his cheek before he could say anything else. “Thank you, love.”
The look in her eye made him go warm inside, like a summer breeze. It reminded him of all the reasons he loved her. “Just go back to bed, hondje. You look tired.”
“Mmm, I will. I want to be rested up when you get back.”
“Oh?” And now Theo knew he had something to look forward to. He gave her a quick goodbye kiss and took the squirming babies to the front entry.
Vincent was waiting for him with a double carriage for the babies and a big basket of goodies. He also had a blanket for the ground, a spare one for the babies in case they were cold. “Are you ready to go?”
“I think so. They’re dressed and wiggly.” Theo laughed, setting the babies in the carriage. He looked at the basket on his brother’s arm. “Did you bring something for them to eat?”
“I did. Sebas made up a special pancake and berry blend and put it in little jars. They will love it.” Vincent grinned. “I’m hoping to sketch them today. They are almost a year old and I haven’t managed to get a single good painting of either of them.”
“They move too much.” Theo gave the babies a mock stern look. “You have to hold still for mijn broer when he’s painting you.”
Anna and Akari gurgled at him in response, completely unrepentant.
The brothers took the babies out to Vincent’s favorite flower meadow. They laid the blanket under a tree and set the babies down on it. Anna sat where her papa put her, but Akari pushed herself up on all-fours and wobbled toward a pile of fallen leaves.
Theo scooped her up just before she got there. “Think you can escape little one?”
She started to cry, an angry, helpless sound.
Vincent put his hands to his ears. “Can’t you let her play in the leaves? It wouldn’t hurt anything. We used to play in leaf piles all the time.”
“Yes but -” Theo wasn’t sure how to put it into words. It was different when it was your baby. You worried more. About all kinds of things. Still, his brother was probably right.
“Ok, ok,” he told Akari, and set her down on the blanket. She immediately stopped crying and went for the leaves again. “Just don’t eat them - please?”
Vincent laughed. “I don’t think I’ve ever heard you plead like that. Being a father has changed you.”
Theo shrugged. His brother was right, but he didn’t want to admit it. The two of them watched the babies crawl over and under the leaves, picking up the bright red and yellow ones to stare at them in wonder. And occasionally gnaw at them with their little slobbery mouths.
Gloves, hats, scarves, and booties disappeared through playtime, replaced by dirt and dead leaves. A different sort of fall costume, Theo mused.
Vincent managed a few quick sketches, but the girls made it hard to catch them in any pose. They had so much energy and everything fascinated them.
Eventually they got tired and let their papa and uncle feed them. Then promptly fell asleep in the baby carriage.
“I guess that’s our cue to head home,” Vincent sighed.
Theo nodded and stood up to gather the scattered picnic items. He found the two hats, and the mittens and boots, but the scarves were gone. He tore through the leaf pile and checked under the picnic blanket. They weren’t there. Or in the baby carriage. Or in the basket.
“What’s wrong,” Vincent asked. “Did you drop something?”
“No. Godverdomme. I can’t find the girls’ scarves. They have to be here someplace.”
“The ones Sebas just gave them to wear for winter?”
“Yes, those.” He shot his brother a look of annoyance that faded the second it landed. It was impossible to be annoyed with Vincent. “Can you help me look for them?”
“I will. I’d hate to see Sebastian’s face if we had to tell him we lost them.”
“Thanks, broer. Helpful.”
“Don’t worry Theo. We’ll find them.” Vincent gave his angelic smile and the two of them tore through the picnic site again. Still no scarves.
Theo knew they needed to get back soon, but he didn’t want to give up. That just wasn’t his style. “Did you check the grass, Vince?”
“Yes, and I went through the leaf pile again. Lots of red and yellow, nothing knit.”
“And the picnic basket?”
Vincent sighed. “We both looked through it. Unless Akari and Anna managed to stick them in the jam jars, the scarves aren’t in there either.”
Theo popped open the basket and checked the jam jars just in case. With the babies, you could never be sure.
“I think we’ll just have to admit we lost them, Theo. I’m sure Sebas will be alright. The twins got to where them out once at least.”
“Yeah.” Theodorus felt a sudden wave of exhaustion. It had been a very nice day but the ending spoilt it all.
He and Vincent pushed the baby carriage back to the manor in low spirits. Anna and Akari slept through the whole drama, unaware of the importance of their missing scarves.
Sebastian met them at the door, all smiles. “Did you have a nice day out? Did the girls like their pancakes?” He leaned down to look at the snoozing pups. His smile faltered. “Ah, still not cold enough weather for a scarf?”
Vincent looked over at Theo.
It would be easy to lie right now. Say that’s right, and then the scarves could go missing without it being his fault. But Theodorus wasn’t one to shirk responsibility. Sometimes you had to man up. Admit your faults. He shoved his hands in his pockets and rocked back on his heels, as he considered how best to break the news.
His fingers brushed something wooly and soft. His eyes widened.
“What is it, broer?”
Theo tugged the soft fluff from his pocket. A scarf. Yellow. And in the other pocket, one red. He grinned at Sebas. “Nah, they took them off while they were playing. I stuck them in my pockets for safe keeping.”
Vincent laughed, relieved. “I wish you could have seen them, Sebastian. They were so cute.”
Sebas smiled. “Well, I’ll have to wait for your next outing.” He gestured upstairs. “I believe your lady is waiting for you?”
Theo grinned.
Vincent nudged his arm. “Don’t worry, Sebas and I will babysit the rest of tonight.”
He didn’t need anymore encouragement. He bounded upstairs, eager to show the mother of his children how much he appreciated her.

How about comfort characters? Idk if anon said confront on purpose but I'm curious now
G’raha Tia from Final Fantasy XIV made me astral project recently and I was so touched and inspired I wrote the first bit of prose I’ve written in a long time to quench my thirst for feels and angst with a little 1k mini fic. He’s a very good boy.
Zack Fair from Final Fantasy VII was a big one for me back in the day.
Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop and Vash from Trigun fall into a very similar box for me.
I know this is ridiculous but my boy Howell is a comfort character for me. I just really love him a lot and he’s always on my mind.
Alucard Tepes. Because of course.
There’s the Book I’ve Never Written in my head that has a character I adore very much. He’s the protagonist’s uncle and father figure. On the surface he’s kind of a lackadaisical tinkerer, like if you threw Cid Highwind and Uncle Iroh into a pot of steampunk x high fantasy stew. At heart, he’s a broken man who even after years of hard work for the good of his people, lives in the shadow of his dead brother. He’s raised that man’s son, is looked down upon by his country because he lived and his brother did not, and worst yet, he got cucked by his brother and had to raise their lovechild. Over time he’s changed and adapted, but I can look at him and see that I made him when I needed dad shaped comfort, which I couldn’t get from my own. I love him so much, I sometimes wonder if the story isn’t about the protagonist at all, but about this man. He’s definitely one of the best characters in the story. The Big Thing happens and protag is exiled, and uncle is powerless to do anything, and in time they eventually find themselves on opposing sides of a brewing conflict. Protag gathers old allies who were heroes alongside his father and uncle, and they tell him all about the history his uncle kept from him, the fact that his father was actually a crazy bastard and whatnot. They reunite and it’s not totally unlike some of the vibes in the Al/Seth story, of being willing to put your faith in someone, forgive them, bring them back home. I could never settle on a name for the uncle character, but thinking of him and his story never fails to bring a smile to my face.

𝟎𝟖 .   LAST SONG : You Spin Me Round ( Like a Record) - Dead or Alive
𝟎𝟗 .   LAST   FILM   /   SHOW : King of the Hill. because i’m apparently not allowed to watch anything else since dad rips the tv remote from my hand and changes the channel while i’m watching stuff :/
𝟏𝟎 .   INSPIRATION : Dark / Darkest Academia, Strongmen competitions, warm smokey rooms, fall / autumn season, cats, movies like The Shape of Water and King Kong where the monster isn’t really the bad guy. Reaching out to touch the monster, feral animal rescue videos, big softies
𝟏𝟏 .   STORY BEHIND : Wahi is a forgotten character from a forgotten game, and seeing him get swept under the rug makes me HNNNNG. He’s the brother of an important character, yet they did NOTHING with that, like... why??? Jagex forgot he exists, along with the other Mahjarrat that aren’t Azzanadra. ( azzy ilu but blease let the other mahjie have a go at being in the spotlight ) At first it was a toss-up between Wahi and Kharshai because they’re both my baby boys but I thought that Wahi would be better for interacting outside the fandom. He’s the intelligent and probably the second most down to earth of the Mahjarrat who gives off some serious nerdy uncle vibes and I dig it. Jagex did my boy a dirty so he’s officially mine now.

I'm not very good at drawing horror and blood but I recently have been getting into OFF lately so I figured I'd try to draw batter to pratice lighting and shadows
I also made my own au where batter and hugo switch places but I doubt anyone would like it or even read it heck I couldn't even get a single like on any of my posts
But here I go anyway :
So common belief that the world of OFF isnt real and that its all happening inside Hugo's head because hugo is in a comma and that the batter resembles the father and the queen resembles the mother
And that the guardians are the boy's immune system and organs that are intolerant to the drug liquid plastic that is being experimented on hugo
The mother was always a working woman and never gave hugo attention while the dad was a straight forward and loving man (I also have a personal theory that he's religious)
The mother wants hugo to live but the father wants to let the boy die because he's tired of seeing his own child in pain everyday
Ok now that I have that out of the way here's my au:
In this au its the father that ends up in a comma and hugo is the one who tries to save him from dying
Backstory to how the dad ended up in a comma:
Hugo in this au is healthy and lives a normal life the father was once a baseball player (as a hobby) so hugo got inspired by his dad and started to take baseball classes at his school
One day the dad was dropping hugo off for baseball practice and while waving goodbye while slowly moving out of the parking lot a reckless older student who wasn't looking quickly backs up his truck hitting the father and sending him into a comma
Ok now for the characters:
We enter the game as hugo and we are greeted by the judge and we start our journey of "purifying" the world just like batter
The enemies represent different family members who dislike or or even hate the father and the father's phobias or fears as well as microbes or poisons in the father's system
Then we have other characters like pets, neighbors, friends who are good guys or people who side with hugo in the this au
Also the puzzles would changed in this au
Hugo is a child and the father would probably play alot with hugo and his games since the mother was always busy ,so instead of floating boxes we'd get more complicated versions of kids puzzles like connect the dots or fill in the shapes etc.
Now for who each character represents and then I'll move on to what the goal of the game is or what Hugo's mission is:
Hugo= he represents the son in real life but he also resembles a new antibiotic that's being experimented on the father
The judge = in real he's the family house cat named milk ingame he's a guide but I have my own head canon
so alot of people tend to draw batter with his eyes closed some draw 4 eyes some draw no eyes at all
I like to think that the father irl has bad eye sight or sensitive eyes so he wears special glasses but will not wear any glasses when at home because he doesn't like to so he will walk around with his eyes closed
So milk will guide him throughout the house by purring or meowing at him
As for the smile the judge has on his face hugo likes the movie Alice in wonderland over and over so the image of the Cheshire cat would be embedded in the dad's memory which is why the judge appears that way
He views the judge as someone who is helpful
The queen = the queen is his wife however they start to have alot of problems and arguments before the father fell in a comma
And the relatives try to convince her to turn off the life support and move on with life
Dedan= irl he's the father's brother in law with a snappy attitude and he hates the father alot and even objected in thier wedding day he will do anything to hurt the father or cause trouble
The father sees his brother in law nothing more than a all bark no bite a big mouth
Japhet= in real life is the lady that lives next door (yes I KNOW japhet is male but he's based off if her in the father's head)
She's is very controlling person who enjoys gossip and can't mind her own business always sticking her nose where she can as well as pushing everyone around she does everything she can to get attention and impress people and she's flirted with the father mutiple times but she's ignored her every time
She has very loud and noisy birds and has killed thier other family cat Venice saying that she did it as self defense (Venice is Valerie basically)
The father views her as a parasite
Enoch= he resembles another dad that takes his kid to baseball practice but is in bad terms with the mother and will constantly pick on hugo for fun
He assumes if the father approaches him its because his wife told him to do so
and will constantly say that his child and wife are happy ,living a life with no problems thinking that he's got life figured out
Even though its clear that his son isn't enjoying baseball at all, is quite over wieght as well as his wife ignores him all the time not to mention he's constantly eating meaning that he has some sort of food addiction it seems he sees no irony in his life at all
The father sees him as an irresponsible over wieght person who's always lying to himself and to blind to see the truth thinking that his life is ok when it's clearly not
Zacharie = irl he's the father's best friend since middle school and they've known each other for years he was the best man at the wedding he's bisexual and in a relationship with a girl named sweetie (please don't hate me batterie shippers QWQ!) He used to crush on the father and even confessed to him on the wedding day he was heartbroken but accepted that the relationship was never gonna happen and was even mad at his best friend but realized it was wrong of him to feel that way
He eventually moves on
He likes to bring and buy alot stuff and show them to his best pal later somegimes illegal stuff (he even brought weed over one time oh boy) he's like an uncle to hugo and is always happy to help and defend his best friend no matter what
He views him as a brother and family member aswell as a very optimistic chill dude and will jokingly refer to him as "the merchant"
Sugar: irl she's zacharie's gf (before her he had 2 toxic exes and she helped him out of those toxic relationships) she and the father don't really talk all that much so he knows little to absolutely nothing about her aside from the fact that she likes to talk funny sometimes and is really into dolls and aliens and a slight addiction to eating pixie straws (straws filled with powered candy or sugar)
He views her as a silent person nothing much
The elsens= they are the people that the father meets/sees/interacts with everyday/every once in a while but don't have much of a connection with (you know like a co worker you have small talk with or barely ever see)
Now for the plot :
After the father enters a comma the son starts to go from school to the hospital (they're very close to each other and you can say hugo is 5-7 years old and ) and visits his dad everyday and calls out to him hoping it'd wake him up
The mother scolds him for running off without super vision and that his dad won't wake up if he keeps calling him that whatever he does is useless that his father will remain to be a lifeless bag of meat on a bed
Hugo doesn't give up ignoring his mother's words
She realizes that hugo has an obsession with his unconscious father that is affecting his studies along with his social life
Zacharie doesn't make this any better because he offers to pick up hugo after school to prevent him from getting abducted or lost along with his jokes all the time
She slowly starts to Contemplate turning off the life support machine wondering if it would fix everything
Hugo hasn't been paying attention in class and thier marriage has been having a issues lately her family never liked or accepted him she sees zacharie and others as annoying and problems bringers and maybe they'd have less expenses if hugo didn't have to go to baseball pratice every day not to mention he'd less likely get hurt if he stopped playing
Everyone else started to convince her to turn off life support they discuss this next to the unconscious father
She prevents zacharie from seeing hugo and locks out any other connections the fatehr has
finally she becomes convinced however there's 1 barrier preventing her from doing that.....Hugo
The only person who truly gives hugo attention and love is his father without his father he'd feel lost and scared his mother is always working and doesn't give him much attention
Everyone tells him to give up on his dad and move on but hugo stands his ground
Alot of the arguments and conversations happen in the hospital room next to the father so he hears everything in his comma which leads to the creation of the world of OFF in his head
Therefore we play as hugo through out the game (dressed in a baseball outfit) solving puzzles and fighting enemies "purifying" the world
Not much changes the boss battles the add ons etc. Will remain the same in this au
Maybe there will be more rubber duck /duck/ bird themed stuff in this au aside from the pedalos (ex:move the boxes to make them look like a duck idk lol)
However the final boss will change
Canonly batter is stopped by the judge but in this au the judge sides with hugo because its the queen (the mother) who is trying to turn the switch off and hugo is trying to prevent that
So instead of the judge stopping hugo
Hugo will meet the queen, she will tell him to halt and not bother going any further that her intentions will not change hugo will begin to tell her off everything she's done wrong she will respond saying that she's doing it for thier sake (Hugo's and her's) but hugo calls her out and tells her its not true and she loses her patience with him leading to a boss fight if hugo wins then she will refer to him as "my little sweetheart" and fade into dust
"The room" will also change instead of hugo it'll be his dad (the batter)chained to a wall (basically a prisoner in his own mind) hugo will take 1 step forward activating a trap causing him to plummet down a tube and fall unconscious for a few minutes
When he wakes up he sees the queen and all the guardians standing before him the queen states that he can give up or die trying then she speaks to the puppeteer (the player) the you are given 2 options
1.aide with the queen
2.side with hugo
If you side with the queen you will have the guardians ok your side then Hugo's appearance will change as well he will appear to have a large head with a huge gaping mouth a baby rattle and apron and speech bubbles that say "wah wah" "whine whine" (stating that his mother sees him as a cry baby)
If you defeat hugo then the switch is immediately turned off and it gives 1 out of the 2 bad endings this ending is called "check mate" as a reference to a queen from chess
If you side with hugo then you will be defeated but you won't get a game over yet instead the queen will give you 1 last chance
Then you are given 3 options
1."surrender" 2."gasp for help" 3."cry"
If you choose surrender then you will get the 2nd bad ending in which in life support is turned off the father dies hugo becomes lonely with his mother busy all the time (and not allowing him out side the house and not trusting people) which leads to hugo growing up cold, plain and unloving
At some point there's a scene where adult hugo stares at his old mother laying on the kitchen floor in pain for a few minutes instead of helping her immediately indicating that he doesn't care
If you choose "gasp for help" then you will get the good ending "aye batta batta, strike!" In which hugo will call for help (while in deep pain from the fight) after a few calls judge, zacharie, sugar and a few elsens will come to the rescue and revive you fighting by your side allowing you to defeat the queen and guardians
Everything slowly starts to go back and the father wakes up from his comma everyone in the room stares in shock but hugo had the biggest smile on his face while standing next to his dad's bed "did...I miss something?"
"...daddy *breaks into tears*"
The 3rd ending called "better late than never" is triggered when you choose "cry"
Hugo will cry very loudly
The mother changes her mind and doesn't turn off life support but hugo stops visiting his dad and similar to the 2nd bad ending hugo grows up to be cold and unloving 13-16 years later hugo visits his father again and he finally wakes up from his comma and is discharged from the hospital after 1 year of rehabilitation therapy
By now the mother had remarried and the father missed his son's childhood so now he has to relive his life
However hugo meets a girl who is a complete opposite to him at work and church (rainbow hair, optimistic, enjoys music of various kinds, loves cute things, baking, jokes, and artist etc.) And is forced to work with her as well as she tries to get Hugo's attention so he asks his father for advice on how to get rid of this woman which leads to alot stuff going on and hugo allowing how to love and live life leading him to falling in love with the girl and becoming a new man
(This is personally my favorite ending lol and I MIGHT write fanfic of it on wattpad or here idk tbh )
Anyway this my OFF au I GUESS the name can change to the ON au or OFF/ON au lmao idk
Reblogs and feed back is appreciated
PLEASE DONT STEAL MY AU i worked hard on this thing spent 5 hours to write it all

All About the Letter S
Animals I Like: Sharks, snakes, seals, sheep, snails. Foods I Like: Seafood! Shrimp, squid, sea urchin, salmon, scallops. I also really like spaghetti, sushi, sashimi, steak, satay, sandwiches, samgyeopsal, and shawarma. I Know Someone Who’s (jobs): My cousin works in sales but I’m not sure what his exact title is. My mom is a secretary in her work while my dad used to be a sous chef. Other than them I know a security guard, singer, set designer, and screenwriter.
I Wouldn’t Mind Visiting: Spain, Sweden, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Salt Lake City, Sapporo, Seoul, Sao Paulo, and San Antonio so I can visit my aunt, uncle, and cousins hahaha. I wanna go back to Singapore and South Korea too (I went to a different region which is why I still listed down Seoul). Sometimes I Feel: Sad, of course that’s gotta be on here. Sullen, sentimental, scared, sarcastic.
Music I Listen To: Sam Smith, Silent Sanctuary, Solange, Sleeping With Sirens, SZA. Also used to listen to Sick of it All and The Sex Pistols in high school.  Movies I’ve Seen: Schindler’s List, Spotlight, The Shawshank Redemption, The Shape of Water, The Shining, Sabrina, Silver Linings Playbook, Scream, Scream 4, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Shrek 2, Steve Jobs, Salt, Split, Shutter Island, Signs, Slumdog Millionaire, The Sixth Sense. First few minutes of Se7en before I got a little bored, oops. Names I Like: Seraphina, Sabrina, Sabine, Sandrine, Sophia, Stephanie, Shiloh, Scarlett, Sienna, Sierra, Suri. And now, onto the random questions! 1. Is summer your favorite season? Why or why not? We only get two seasons, and technically summer isn’t even one of them. We do get a ~dry~ season which is basically summer, and I personally hate it for the most part because I’ve never liked the heat unless I’m at the beach – which I don’t get to do a lot because the dry season takes place right in the middle of the semester. I hate sweating too, so yeah it’s just uncomfortable for me all around. 2. What’s your favorite kind of sandwich? Monte Cristo and spicy chicken. 3. Do you enjoy sushi? Aw man I love sushi dude. Can’t wait till I’m rich enough to buy platters of them just for myself all the time. 4. Are you any good at spelling? Yeah. I realized I had a knack for them early on when we’d do spelling tests in grade school and I kept getting perfect marks while everyone failed lol. Or idk, maybe my classmates were just bad at spelling. Whatever it is, I ended up really liking spelling and at one point Akeelah and the Bee was my favorite movie. 5. Who’s your favorite superhero? Not big on that whole genre. Wonder Woman if I had to give an answer. 6. Do you feel like you have a sixth sense? What is it? Nopes. I kinda sorta hold a belief in some aspects of the supernatural, but I don’t claim to have seen or heard anything. 7. Do you drink soda? If so, what’s your favorite kind? No. Hate the fizzy feeling in my tongue and throat. 8. Favorite kind of soup? Miso. Always have to have it when I get Japanese food. 9. What brand of dish soap do you use? How about hand soap? Sanitizer? Shampoo? Shaving cream? Oh man I’m too lazy to check haha but as far as I know we have Joy dishwashing liquid, and Dove for my shampoo, Green Cross alcohol (we use alcohol at home instead of sanitizers). 10. Do you stutter a lot? Only when I’m made to speak on something I don’t know about/I didn’t prepare enough for. 11. Do you smile often? Sure.  12. Have you ever stolen anything before? What was it? Pens that are left behind on a desk or that were dropped onto the floor, though I only do that if I’ve run out of pens. I still feel uncomfortable about stealing anything, in general. 13. What is sacred to you? Friends. 14. Skateboarding, skiing, sledding, or surfing? Skiing sounds like a lot of fun. 15. Do you remember Stoop Kid? Nope. 16. Have you ever collected seashells by the seashore? I’ve collected them but I always put them back in the sand right after. 17. Has anyone ever slapped you before? Yes, my brother. It’s why I have entirely stopped talking to him. 18. How many swimsuits do you own? I have several one-piece swimsuits. I have way more bikinis because I find them more comfortable to wear. 19. Did you used to love stickers as a kid? How about as an adult? I loved them then and I love them now. I once covered my parents’ cabinet with Disney-themed stickers when I was like five. By some miracle my mom never gave me shit for that, which I give her tons of credit for because looking back on it, it was a shitty thing to do with a cabinet and my work wasn’t too pretty either, lol. 20. Are you afraid to stand on the scale? No but I do get worried whenever it dips to 90-92 lbs. [a-zebra-is-a-striped-horse]

Necessity
Tumblr media
A/N: Welcome to chapter 1 of Necessity! This Supernatural fic is super plot twisty, I like keeping it chill in the beginning and then switching it up when you least expect it! If you love lots of drama, mystery and intense conflicts, here you go. There will def be some romance blossoming, slow build to smutty goodness, it's a good fic, I swear.
Chapter 1: The Last Day
April 5th, 2019
"Eva!" Her mother, Eleanor hollers.
Her eyes shoot open at the sound. It usually takes her a few minutes to actually get up. Whether it's scrolling through Instagram on her phone or stretching her body out, she takes her time. The sunlight was pouring in through the curtains; there was a gentle breeze from her ceiling fan. Then she begins to smell the sizzling bacon and her legs kick into gear.
During the fall semester she despised getting up early for classes, so this semester she got only afternoon and evening classes. Still reveling in the feeling of waking up later, Eva gracefully clothes herself in a pair of sweatpants, keeping her oversized sleep shirt on. She grabs her phone, leaves her room and heads on downstairs, passing all the glowing windows. She's not typically a morning person, but waking up at 11:30 is much nicer than 7:00 AM, not to mention that spring has always been her favorite season.
Spring is jam-packed with blooming flowers, singing birds and soaring butterflies. As soon as you walk outside you're met with beautiful colors and scents of greenery. It's amazing walking weather; you usually don't have to wear coats because it's never too hot or too cold. Everything is absolutely perfect, except-
"Rain," Her father sighs, "It's going to be pouring by the time your classes end."
She enters the kitchen, the smell of breakfast overwhelming her. She takes a seat next to her Dad, Augustus, also known as Gus.
"Well I can't pick her up, I have to go visit my Mother today," Eleanor says. She hands Eva a plate, as well one to her brother Charley.
"It's fine, Mom, I can just walk."
"You're going to have to bring an umbrella with you," Charley comments.
"I know Charley, that was pretty obvious," Eva rolls her eyes, 'such a simple-minded man,' she thinks to herself. She serves herself some bacon and eggs before filling up a glass of water.
She's the youngest of three, only 18. Her oldest brother is Charley, who is 24 years old, her second oldest is brother is Oliver, she calls him Oli for short, and he's 21.
Her mother finishes serving herself as well; Gus, Charley and Eva already diving into their meals. Just as she sits down she recognizes the empty seat.
"Where's your brother?"
To this Charley snorts, "Where do you think?"
"Stayed up all night again?" Gus asks.
This was a common occurrence. And I know what you're thinking, must be a hard partier, huh? No, that's not the case. In fact, it's quite the opposite. Her brother, Oliver, has a really hard time getting sleep. They're not sure exactly what it is. Perhaps he's a light sleeper, or maybe its nightmares, maybe anxiety—could be anything. If there's one thing Eva knows for sure, it's that his sleeping habits are a popular subject of gossip in her house. They always talk about him when he's not around, complaining about how concerned they are. Sometimes he'll even be in the same room and they'll still talk about him to each other as if he's not there. She'd be lying if she said it didn't make her feel guilty.
"At least he's asleep now," Eva comments.
Gus nods. He has bright blue eyes and jet-black hair. Well, used to be jet-black, now it's more like salt and pepper. Eva didn't get his eyes, or his hair, or his height, but she got his personality. There's something about her, that all of her older cousins and Aunts and Uncles comment on. It could be their face shapes, their smiles, nobody knows what it is about the two of them that is so strikingly similar, but it's there.
Her mother, on the other hand, she has big, chocolaty doe eyes, which is exactly what Eva inherited. She is also the same height as her Mom and almost same hair color. Eleanor has a light; hazel colored hair whereas Eva's is a much darker brown. She's sweet, she's caring but she's also incredibly timid. Charley and Oliver take a lot after their mother. They can be shy, can be sweet and could do with a little more assertiveness, exactly like Eleanor. But despite all of their passiveness, they are the most welcoming, warm people on the Earth.
It's funny because the whole family looks unrelated-- like a mismatched bunch. Charley has his mother's light feathery hair, her eye color, but Gus's eye shape and height. Oliver has the jet-black hair, just like his father, but his mother's height and his mother's eyes. And while Eleanor is more on the shy, dependent side, Gus is assertive and sovereign. He has the reputation of sometimes overstepping boundaries—maybe being a little too controlling. And unfortunately, in this family, most of them just go along with it due to their passive nature. That is until Eva came along.
Eva is a little firecracker and a straight copy of her dad. She's always been over-cautious like him, very honest, very assertive. They tend to have the same opinions, but on occasion when he's overstepping, she's the one to hash it out with him. They have a strong relationship.
"How's your modern poetry class going?" Gus asks Charley.
"It's..." He pauses, "Interesting."
"That bad?" Eva asks. Charley majors in Philosophy and Poetry. These are actually his last few classes before he graduates.
He rolls his eyes, "I didn't say it was bad."
"So you like it?" His mom asks. Instead of nodding, he shakes his head. Finding his words, his hand naturally finds his chin as he plays with the light stubble.
"It's just not my style of writing," He re-words, "Kind of weird to be honest."
They all fall silent, concluding the conversation. Eva finishes her food just as fast as Charley. Being both fast eaters, they scarf their meals down and usually leave the table before everyone else.
"So, how did you sleep?" Her mother asks her. Eva looks up from her empty dish to find her Mother's warm eyes.
"It was okay, how about you?"
Her mom sighs, "I stayed up watching tv until...what, like 3 in the morning?"
"Was Oli up too?" Eva asks.
"I think so, I saw the hall light on."
Eva only hums in acknowledgment, not really finding words. It's only a moment of silence before her Mother goes on to tell her about the movie she was watching. Reflecting on what she thought was such an inspiring story. It was a film about the world, it's culture and all the things we could do better.
"Did you know that in Finland, there's no college tuition?" Eleanor exclaims, "But of course in America, every single student is in debt,"
"Including me," Eva adds.
Both of them give a little laugh at the absurdity. 'It really is ridiculous,' Eva thinks to herself. Eventually, Eleanor goes back to finishing her breakfast and Eva silently listens to her brother ramble.
Once Charley finished he had quickly brought his notebook to the table. He pulled out a little packet full of poems and began making his last touches to his assignment. Once he finishes, he slides it back into his bag and grabs his dish.
"Analyzing the poetry is pretty awful, it's nothing like Emily Dickenson," Charley says as he starts cleaning up, "But I do like it when we have discussions about them in class."
"Why's that?" Their dad asks.
Charley continues to wash his dish over the sink before stacking it in the dishwasher, "I don't think anyone else can take the poems seriously either, so it's funny. Plus, all you have to do is raise your hand, say 'I interpreted this to be very self-deprecating', and then the Professor gives you a point, so easy."
"-Sorry for interrupting," Eleanor interjects,  "I have to head out, bingo starts at 1:00. Can you wash the pans too?"
"No need to rush, you know your Mother's never ready on time anyway," Gus comments. Eleanor gives him a sarcastic dry laugh, 'always making jokes about Grandma,' Eva thinks to herself. Her Mom gives her Dad a quick peck on his cheek. She hugs Eva and hurries out the door.
Charley steadily grabs both pans, bringing them to the sink and loading them up with soap. He continues to talk with his dad. Charley muses about his Philosophy courses as usual, and Eva begins to drown them out. She picks up her phone, unlocking it. The first thing she notices is a bunch of texts from her friends she seemed to miss.
Sliding on the notifications, she reads, 'I hope she's ok'. This prompts her to scroll up; whom could they be talking about? She finally gets to the beginning,
'Did you guys hear about Amber?'
'No what happened?'
'it hasn't been 48 hours yet, but her parents think she's missing,'
'holy shit,'
'they said she didn't come home last night and nobody could get ahold of her this morning. Nobody's seen her either,'
"Oh my God," Eva whispers. Her brother and dad both pause their conversation, fixing their attention on her.
"What's wrong?" Her Dad asks.
"Amber Shirley is missing."
Her dad immediately jumps from his seat. As mentioned before, he's a very cautious person. He constantly watches the news, hearing about all the bad things that occur. It only feeds his anxieties but now-- now he has something to actually worry about.
"It's only been like, 20 hours," Eva continues, "But she's not home, nobody knows where she is,"
"Oh God," Her dad sighs, "I should call the Shirley's." He picks up the home phone to dial their number. As he talks to them, she goes back to her phone to anxiously read more texts.
'do you think it was a party?'
'nobody party's that hard on Wednesdays,'
'plus she was commuting'
'you guys I think she was doing drugs,'
'really?'
'why do you say that'
'yea did you hear that from somebody?'
'idk these past few weeks she'd been acting so weird'
'what do you mean?'
'she thought her house was haunted,'
'we all knew that, her house is a bit creepy tbh,'
'no, she legitimately was becoming paranoid. she thought something was trying to kill her,'
'like she even started skipping bio because she wasn't sleeping'
'did her parents know?'
'I think she tried to talk to them, im not sure'
'but she was like really scared you guys, she must've been on something really hard'
'shit'
'that's terrifying'
'I really hope it's not heroin,'
'I hope she's ok'
'me too' Eva sends the quick text.
Now Eva finally catches up, she's even more scared. It's very surreal to have something like a friend go missing. She's never dealt with crime in her life, so it all seemed so far away from her until now. The idea that Amber could be gone is frightening. For once in her life she was nervous to go to classes, and not because of exams.
From the moment she read that Amber was missing, an eerie shiver blew up her spine. Even after trying to hope that Amber was safe, that she was okay, praying she wasn't hurt-- that creepy feeling just won't shake off. Her mind won't stop frenzying over what could have possibly happened, what she could have done or even worse, what someone else could have done to her. The idea that someone dangerous could be walking around the streets of Willow only magnified her anxiety.
She checks the time, 12:25 pm. Her classes start soon, so she begrudgingly pushes herself up the steps to get ready.
"Eva, where are you going?" Her dad calls from the kitchen.
"To get ready for class."
"Ok, but you're not walking home tonight, not with Amber missing,"
She nods her head in agreement, "But who will pick me up?"
"Ask your friends, or take an Uber I guess," He says.
"Sounds good."
She makes her way up the stairs to her room; ridding herself of the saggy sweatpants and worn out black tee. She moves rather slowly. Her brain still in frenzy and her body seemingly rusted. It just didn't feel right today. Studying herself in the mirror, she slowly grazes a hand over her necklace. It's probably the most pretty and most precious thing she owns. It's a family 'hand me down', if you will. She got it as a baptismal gift from her Godmother and hasn't taken it off since. The dainty silver chain and tiny blue jewel can compliment almost all of her wardrobe.
She makes note of the extra windy and rainy weather today. Taking a nice pair of true denim overalls, she slides them over her legs. She finds a thick, cropped pullover that was a baby pink and dresses herself in the fleecy garment. She picks a nice pair of wooly socks, grabs her black rain boots. She twists her hair into a messy bun, before throwing on her matching black raincoat.
She sends a quick text to her friends, 'My dad is talking to the Shirley's rn. I still can't believe she's missing.'
'Same'
'My mom wants to bring them some muffins.'
'I think we should start a search party or something'
(Eva) 'That's a good idea. Also, can any of you give me a ride back home later?'
'Don't think so.'
'I can't!'
'Still don't have my license.'
'Maybe take an Uber?'
(Eva) 'Yeah, sounds like that's what I'm gonna do.'
She makes her way downstairs, seeing her Dad still on her phone and Charley at the dining room table studying. She looks to the kitchen to gratefully see Oliver groggily getting a bowl of Cheerios.
"Morning Oli," She greets while looking for an umbrella. He looks in her direction mumbling a gentle 'hello' back. She finally finds a large umbrella buried in her closet. It has a big wooden staff and a simple brown fabric. She sets it by the front door.
Oliver sits at the table watching YouTube on his IPad, while slowly but surely eating his Cheerios. It's the usual routine for him, he's either asleep when she's awake, or he's on his IPad. She grabs her glass from earlier this morning and refills it. She has a couple of minutes before she has to leave, so she decides to get extra hydrated. Walking to campus and all the way around it can be a little of a workout.
She plops down next to Oli, "So how'd you sleep?" He pauses the video, shifting his attention to her. His black hair is clearly disheveled from just being asleep, his eyes still heavy as well.
"It was fine," He shrugs. He's always been one to downplay his problems. Oliver hates being overwhelmed with everyone else's anxieties, so he tends to be vague, and always calm.
"Could've slept more?" She adds.
"Yeah," It's silent for a moment, "You know, I heard about, uh, Amber,"
Eva forces out a breath, her mind circling back to the fearful subject. It's as if all of a sudden her mouth is dry as a desert. She reaches for her water.
She doesn't really want to talk about Amber unless it's about her being found. She can't stand the nerve-wracking sensation of thinking about her—of where she is, of how bad it is, or if she's even still alive. Her mind just seems to go straight to that place, the extreme yet not so crazy idea that Amber could be in a life or death situation. Not to mention, all that they can do is rely on the police at this point. Talking about her—trying to unearth where she is just from guessing does nothing, like literally—nothing. It's helpless, she... Amber, could even be helpless. They're just frozen in a waiting period, can't do anything about it.
"It's just so scary," Is all she manages to say. She glances at her phone, at 12:43 pm.
"Oh, I need to head out," She gulps down the last of her water. Standing up from her seat, she gives Oli an awkward half-smile. Not really being able to conjure up enough energy to fully smile, or keep a conversation going. Throwing her backpack over her shoulder, she picks up the umbrella and as she's walking towards the door she sees a big, cardboard box just a few feet behind it.
"What's this box for?" Eva asks. She hears some shuffling from the dining room before Charley pops his head in the hallway to see.
"Oh, Dad's going to get the old family videos restored," He responds.
"Nice," Eva smiles at the thought. They definitely have some keepers in there, let me tell you. She recalls once when Oli had brought over a cute girl-- which was entirely rare due to his shyness. But of course, the night he brings her over, Eva, 12 at the time, decided to put on some of the old tapes.  It plays, everyone excited to see what it is-- low and behold, a video from when Oli was 4 and was running around butt-naked with Pokemon cards. 'God', she cringes at the memory, she felt so bad about embarrassing him.
She unlocks the front door, stepping out before calling out, "Bye, love you guys,"
Eva hears a faint murmur of 'bye' and 'love you too' from the men of the house before the loud shut of the door. No longer in the warmth of her home; no longer with the sounds of Charley's pencil writing, Oli's slow Cheerio chewing, or Gus's sympathetic worries being spoken to the phone. She can hear the clear sound of birds chirping, a light patter of rain, and the barely audible sound of the wind in the trees.
She plugs her earbuds into her phone, unfolds her umbrella and begins to walk. The old peaceful streets of Willow generating natural, calm energy. She tries to focus on the music, the scenery, not daring to let her mind drift to the blood-curtling subject of Amber.
She commutes to Bartley University. The small neighborhood she and her family reside in is called Willow, and she's lived there her entire life. She only has to walk a few blocks before she enters the campus grounds. The street she lives on is interesting because while it's very close to a college, for some reason only half of the occupants are students. The other half of the houses are elderly people, mostly Italian in fact. But because of that, she has such friendly neighbors. Her parents got to be close enough with some that they'd the old Italian couples would bring them homemade wine and Pizelles.
One unfortunate thing she's learned with living in Willow is that most of the sidewalks have uneven foundations. You want to be careful not to drag your feet cause you can very easily trip...which she does all the time. 'Always been clumsy though,' She thinks to herself.
Once she reaches Ryter Street, she turns right into the other many traveling students. And before she knows it, she's passing by the big Lion shaped fountain and enters the History building. As she makes her way down the busy halls, she notices her friend Nora holding a thick stack of papers. And when she looks behind her, she sees a trail of 'Missing: Amber Shirley' posters pinned up on the walls. Right beneath the bold red letters, she sees the picture; Amber's face, plastered all around campus, but the real Amber not anywhere in sight.
Boy, today is going to be tough.

"Don't forget to send me your articles, they need to be peer-reviewed, full text, and strictly correlational!" The Professor calls out. Everyone had begun packing up their items, desperate to get out of here as fast as possible. From all the noise, his voice began to get drowned out. All the kids began to file out of the lecture, and before Eva knew it, she was one of the last few kids left. Normally she's right with the crowd, antsy to get home. Especially since her mother makes the warmest, yummiest food. Her friends tend to get jealous of it actually, since they live in dorms and basically only eat ramen and pizza.
She slowly stands up from her seat. Her mouth feels exceptionally dry again, which is ironic considering how heavily it's pouring outside. She can even hear the bash of thunder from inside the building. Checking her IPhone, 6:30 pm. A few months into this semester, and she's regretting putting all four classes back to back. Ancient Greek History is one hour, Bio 101 is a two-hour long lecture, then she has a Bio Lab, then finally her Psych 101 is only an hour and a half—but still, she's beat.
She opens the Uber app and orders a car. As she waits to see the approximate arrival time, she sits back down into her chair. A constant nervous habit of hers, she starts toying with the little gem on her neck, twisting it between her fingers, sometimes even spinning the chain around her finger.
Approximate Arrival: 6:45 pm.
Right as she's about to head out to the common area, she gets a text from her dad.
'The Police are finally conducting an investigation. They want to talk to you and your friends. What time will you be home?'
(Eva) 'Probably 7:00 pm.
'Okay. Love you. Be safe.'
She sends a quick 'love you too' text back before standing up. She zips up her coat, nice and snug. As she makes it into the halls, she can't help but stare at the floor. Not having the guts to look at Amber's face. It's weird, not being able to control what she's feeling. This new experience is entirely daunting. It's such an unfamiliar emotion to have someone gone from your life that isn't dead yet, nor found yet, just inconclusive of her existence.
She enters the main conversational area, to which she finds is vacant. Usually, it's filled with students due to its comfortable seating arrangements and its beautiful architecture. But here she sees only two students and one janitor. The emptiness she finds rather unsettling, so she plops down on a couch and immediately opens Instagram. As she scrolls through her feed she jumps at the occasional blast of thunder, followed by heavy pounding rain.
As the clock rounds 6:45, she gets a message from her Uber driver:
'Pulled in behind the apartments on 5th'
'I guess the rainfall was causing a lot of flooding down here', she thinks to herself, what other reason would he park over there? The apartments aren't that far, just a block or so. She just prays she doesn't have to walk through any puddles that are deeper than her boots. Extending her umbrella, she pushes open the heavy brass doors and is met with the chaotic weather. Because it's coming around 7:00 pm, the sky is getting pretty dark. She makes her way towards 5th, but once she gets to the building, she can't find a car in sight. There's a couple of parked cars, the occasional slow approaching vehicle, but she can't seem to find this 'grey sedan car'. She messages her driver about 5 times, but her phone says that her messages couldn't be delivered. She tries to call him, but it won't even ring.
That's when the panic kicks in. And oh boy, is it hitting her hard. With her only source of light being the street lamps and her phone screen, everything around her becomes eerie, vague. She's clicking the call button to her Dad, her Mom, her brothers, her friends, but the bars in the corner of her phone are completely empty. Through all the dense rain crashing from the night's sky, she could barely hear a thing. Her breath was becoming heavier as the thunder became deafening, the lack of light and lack of any safety sending her into pure, unadulterated terror. Her hands were shaking, her lips were freezing and the tips of her toes were going numb—she couldn't breathe a full breath and every time her heart beat faster- her lungs gave out more, her mouth was painfully dry and her eyes felt like they were being pried open to stare into the darkness, and the sky unforgivingly beat down upon her and the earth around her.  Suddenly she hears a sharp clink. Her necklace drops to the wet, flooded ground, the moment she frantically bends down to grab it, her fingers barely graze the silver chain before she hears thundering footsteps spiriting toward her.
Next, her body feels as if it's being ripped to pieces, there were scratches; deep-cut, gushing wounds being gouged into her flesh, her skin was white-hot and her nerves were screaming, a loud, piercing pain pulsing into her head, before she could even feel the claws rip through her body, she saw gallons of blood paint the rainwater red, she fell to the concrete, doing the only thing she could instinctively do—scream, a blood-curdling scream, as loud as she can. The last image she sees is a loose paper, destroyed by the rushing water, her peripheral begins to go black, her ears ringing with high-pitched bells, she grasps the paper, her hand crunching directly over Amber's smearing face.
And she softly closes her shuddering eyes, the pain clogging up her body was too much to bear, and she begins to cry--hot tears disappearing into the red-stained rushing water, and she bids goodbye to what she thinks is her last day.

Hello! I remember that a time ago you post some drafts on twitter about a kid!levi and kenny fic and a way more time ago one about vampire!levi. Do you intend to post them? I really understand if you don't, it's just that you're one of my fave fic writer and reading your writing is always a blessing.
omgg thank you anon ;___; the most recent vampire one i’ve been talking about i didn’t write anything of, but the kenny and levi one i did write some of for a day or two. i stopped after that and idk if i’ll finish it but i did write a good bit so i’ll just post it here since you asked, just fyi it cuts off suddenly
“Are you sure you wanna do this, sis?” Kenny asked, his voice stricken with a level of concern that was halfway between real and fake. “I mean, aren’t ya gonna miss the kid? A week is a long time.”
In response to his question, Kuchel - his little sister, who had stopped being little a long time ago and who he couldn’t pull the big brother card on anymore when she started bossing him around - just scoffed, rolling her eyes as she stepped into his open door, shoving a large travel bag into his arms roughly as if to demonstrate how determined she was not to take any of his shit. It made Kenny grimace, both because of what he wasn’t going to be able to get out of and because of how heavy the fucking bag was, and he closed the door behind Kuchel once she and her other delivery were safely inside.
“Of course I will.” She replied, in a sing-song voice that was directed to said package more than him - her son, Levi, who was 4 years of age and in Kenny’s opinion, too old for fucking baby talk and coddling. Unfortunately, though, his sister did not agree, as her back was to him and she was currently holding the tiny kid in her arms and kissing the side of his face, all while he stared over her shoulder at Kenny with a bored, unimpressed look. “I’ll miss him so much.”
“Kuchel!” Another voice rang out then, that of Uri, the man who for some reason liked putting up with Kenny’s shit enough to call him his partner.
They had a house that they’d bought and lived in for a while together, but because it was almost 8 hours away from Kuchel, Kenny had only had the pleasure of meeting his nephew a few times. He certainly had never babysat him, he thought with another grimace, which was what he was about to do - for an entire week. Why had he agreed to do this shit again, he wondered, when he didn’t know jack about taking care of kids? Oh right; his sister had needed the favor, and if his damned soft spot for her hadn’t convinced him all the way, Uri and the sway he too held with Kenny had made up the rest. He liked kids, Kenny knew, because his brother couldn’t keep his dick in his pants and had already given him a handful of nieces and nephews, and he for some reason thought that Levi was absolutely adorable.
Unfortunately, Kenny was not sure that he agreed. Sure, the runt was cute, he guessed, if you fell for small kids with chubby cheeks and big ears that stuck out like sore thumbs, but that shit was all just superficial. Kenny had sensed what lay behind that, had a feeling that Levi’s true nature was something diabolical and unruly, and knew that the sweet and obedient act he put on for his mother had to be just that: an act. In reality the little turd was probably the devil incarnate - all kids were, and he was an Ackerman, after all - and he could already tell his nephew was going to be a pain in his ass just from the cold glare he was still giving him over his mother’s shoulder. What the hell was his problem? Kenny wondered, scratching at his beard and watching Uri approach him and Kuchel.
“It's good to see you.” He told her, standing up onto his tiptoes to give her a kiss on both cheeks before he turned his attention to Levi. “There's the little man! Hi, Levi, do you remember me? I'm your Uncle Uri. I'm going to make sure you have so much fun while you're staying with us! Did you bring any toys?”
While Kenny fought the urge to gag and squeeze Uri to death because of his charming-to-him-but-actually-disgusting behavior, Levi turned his disinterested gaze to him as well, staring at him for several long seconds before he then buried his face in Kuchel’s shoulder.
“Sorry.” She said, while rubbing his back as Uri clapped his hands together and practically cooed like a hen. “He's shy.”
“Uh-huh.” Kenny couldn't resist uttering at that, snorting and sidling up beside Uri as if he was trying to shield him from Levi's misleading charms. “Sure.”
“Don't be like that, Kenny, look at him. He's just going to miss his mother.” Uri said though, smiling up at where Levi was still held and hiding his face but doing nothing more to get his attention.
Thankfully, Kuchel turned around too so his back was to them both, now sweeping her fingers through his hair soothingly while she spoke. “He’ll be alright. I brought a few toys, but lately he's just been fine to watch movies. His favorite one is in there, and so is his blanket. It helps him sleep through the night.”
“For fuck’s sake.” Kenny muttered at that, said under his breath but not quietly enough to keep him from getting a sharp elbow to the side from Uri and a dirty look from his sister.
“Watch your mouth around him, Kenny. If he comes back home with any new curse words, I'm gonna knock you out.” She said, in a tone that made Kenny throw up his hands defensively.
“Listen, I told you I'm not gonna swear!”
“You just did!”
“He didn't hear me! Look at him, he's not even paying attention. He's too busy crying into your shoulder.”
“He's not crying.” Kuchel told him, rolling her eyes at him again before she turned her attention back to Levi. “Are you, sweetheart? Mommy’s going to put you down now, alright? Why don’t you go put your backpack in your bedroom with Uncle Uri? I think he wants to show you something in there.”
At that, Kuchel bent to set Levi down on his own two feet like she’d said, brushing his bangs out of his face again before she stood up and he twisted his little head around to look up at Uri. Now that Kenny could see both of their expressions, the contrast in response to what Kuchel had just suggested could not have been more comical. Uri had brightened up instantly and was practically glowing, he noticed, as if showing Levi what they’d bought him in his bedroom - a bed shaped like a dinosaur at Kuchel’s recommendation, purchased specifically for this occasion even though Kenny hadn’t understood what was wrong with the old couch they had in there - was going to make his day.
Levi, on the other hand, looked disgruntled and constipated, with his tiny, thin brows drawn down and his nose scrunched up as if he found the thought of going with Uri to be like going to the damn dentist or something. Naturally, though, his shitty expression did nothing to sway Uri from his delight, which was good because he’d insisted on re-decorating Levi’s room so that he would be comfortable there, and because Kuchel had told him to, Levi had no choice but to follow him anyway, reluctantly trudging down the hall with his backpack in his arms after casting one last lingering glance at his mother.
“You need to be gentle with him, Kenny.” Kuchel said once they were out of earshot, crossing her arms and standing up straight to face him, giving him an icy look that was almost exactly identical to the one her brat had fixed at him.
“Shit.” Kenny said then, running a hand through his hair. “That thing looks just like you.”
“He’s not a ‘thing.’ He’s a little boy, and he’s sensitive. You can’t treat him like one of your bar buddies.”
“What the fuck? I’m not gonna, I told ya. It’ll be fine. I’ll sit him down and he can watch the game with me. I’ll give him a beer.”
“You can’t give him fucking beer, Kenny, he’s four!” Kuchel exclaimed at that, her voice raising in a way that made Kenny cringe. “Are you serious? He can’t have alcohol, it could ruin his development! He’s just started school, and-
“No, I’m not serious!” He all but shouted in response, holding his arms out in disbelief that she hadn’t laughed at his wisecracking. “It was a joke! You don’t gotta go all crazy mommy on me, sis, I’m not that stupid, alright? Calm down. I’m not gonna give him beer. I’ll give him liquor instead. It’ll loosen him up and we’ll get along great.”
In response to that, Kuchel just fixed him with another aggravated, scowly look, tightening her crossed arms and raising an eyebrow in response but saying nothing else. Clearly, she was completely unamused by his continued attempts at humor, and Kenny was only able to stare defiantly at her for another few seconds before he wilted and sighed.
“What do you want from me? You want me to carry him around like a damn baby the entire time like you’re doin’? Tuck him in at night and feed him with a bottle? I can’t do that, Kuchel, the kid is four for shit’s sake. When I was four, I’d already started feeding you ‘cus mom and dad weren’t there and grandpa was too old!”
“I know that.” Kuchel responded, glancing away with a frown at the mention of their parents. “That was our childhood, but that isn’t normal. I don’t want Levi’s to be like that. I want him to be able to be a kid for as long as he can before he finds out how shitty the world really is.”
God dammit. Kenny thought, pausing to stare up at the ceiling in a moment of exasperation. Why had he brought that up? Now Kuchel was getting serious with him and he could tell that this was something that meant a lot to her, and not that he didn’t sort of get it, he supposed, it was just...well, he wasn’t a fucking touchy-feely kind of guy. That was what Uri was for, but if the little shit acted like a little shit and didn’t listen to them, then what were they supposed to do? It wasn’t his fault that Kuchel thought Levi was some kind of angel when Kenny knew otherwise.
“Alright, fine. I’ll have Uri tuck him in and kiss his cheek and shit when he goes to bed. He’ll even read him a story if he wants, he loves doin’ that kinda thing, but to me it seems like Levi doesn’t want anything to do with us. Didn't you see that look he gave me when you walked in?”
“No. I told you, he's just shy. He doesn’t really know you, but he should warm up to you after a while as long as you don’t scare the shit out of him. Promise me you’ll behave?”
Snorting at the thought of Levi being scared of him, Kenny then shook his head too, waving his hands around at how Kuchel had just told him to behave like he was the demonic four year old. Why was she so worried about it, though? It wasn’t like he was going to do anything to traumatize the kid, and Uri was capable of giving him enough of that sappy, motherly attention that Kenny recoiled from for the both of them. “I don’t think I’m the one you gotta worry about behaving, but alright, sis. I promise I’ll be nice, and anyway, Uri is gonna be here like I said, so-
“I know, but he’s your nephew first.” Kuchel interrupted, her expression softening as she paused and bit her lip. She looked away again too, and hesitated while her face turned red, something that made him swear internally because it meant she was probably about to say some emotional shit that would make his skin crawl. “You could at least try and bond with him. I’ve been thinking that maybe you can get him out of his shell some. He doesn’t have many friends at school, and he needs that. He needs someone to look up to.”
“Oh, for fuck’s sake.” Kenny muttered, rubbing at his face and fighting exasperation all over again.
Was his sister serious? Why would she want her precious Levi to look up to him, of all people? He hadn’t amounted to shit and had done things that he was pretty sure condemned him to hell twice over - if there was such a place, anyway - and he didn’t think a piece of shit like him was the right person for Kuchel’s son to find a role model in. Even if he didn’t get kids or have a fatherly bone in his body, he knew Levi was more important than anything to her, and the last fucking thing he wanted was to be responsible for the kid turning out like...well, turning out like him.
She’d be disappointed if he did, Kenny thought, and he didn’t do well under pressure like that anyway. Shit, though, what could he say? Obviously Kuchel was pretty concerned about Levi’s behavior somehow if she was telling him this, and unfortunately, he’d never been able to shake the stupid, soft, protective instinct he’d developed as a kid to keep her safe and happy.
“Fine. Fine, fine fine.” He said more seriously this time, sighing in resignation. “I’ll try, but don’t come back cryin’ to me if the kid starts stealing bubblegum and sneaking out by the time he’s 10.”
“He won’t do that. I’ll make sure.”
“Yeah, we’ll see.” Kenny said at that, snorting in jest and reaching out to wrap an arm around Kuchel’s neck. He pulled her towards him and patted her a bit in a rough, awkward sort of hug, and stood there a moment as she just stared at him before continuing. “Don’t worry about it, alright? Me an’ Uri got this. The kid will be fine. Just go and enjoy your vacation with your girlfriend.”
At that, Kuchel immediately smacked him on the chest and pushed herself away, shushing him in a half-panic and looking over her shoulder. “Shut up, Kenny! I told you not to call her that when Levi is here. He might overhear you!”
By then, Kenny was out of expression of disbelief and exasperation, so instead he just closed his eyes and rubbed at the bridge of his nose. Fuck. He thought. This was going to be a long, long week. Kuchel going on vacation - a cruise with her “friend” Traute, whom she had met through Kenny - wouldn’t even change that, as he had no doubt that she would find some way to check up on him whenever she could so that she could get onto him for not treating Levi like a prince or being ‘sensitive’ enough to his emotions.
She seemed to think that they were complicated despite the fact that Kenny was pretty sure Levi couldn’t even read yet - Could he wipe his ass though, he wondered? He should probably ask that before Kuchel left - as she had apparently not told Levi that she had a girlfriend yet because she wasn’t ‘sure if he was ready for that.’ She wanted to make sure he was okay with Traute or some shit first, and gave him an entire lecture about not mentioning it to her son while he was babysitting him, despite the fact that the only reason he had to do it was because Kuchel had wanted to take some kind of romantic vacation with her.
Whatever. Kenny thought, waving a hand at her and nodding as if to pretend he understood, making a mental note that he hopefully wouldn’t forget to not mention Traute as anything other than Kuchel’s friend.
By the look on her face it was clear that she wasn’t really appeased, but thankfully, Uri chose that moment to come back with the little runt trudging behind him.
“He really liked the bed.” Uri announced proudly, walking towards them with a soft, dreamy smile on his face. “And I found out he likes stories. I’m confident that he’ll let me read to him there before he goes to sleep.”
Nodding her approval, Kenny watched as Kuchel bent back down to face Levi, smiling warmly at him while she placed her hands on his tiny shoulders. “You hear that, Levi? Your uncles are going to make sure to tuck you in every night. They’ll give you your blanket and read to you until you’re sleepy, just like Mommy does. Did Uncle Uri show you the nightlight?”
Biting his lip, Levi glanced over at Uri with his eyes widened before he returned to staring at Kuchel, giving her a nod in the affirmative that he had indeed been shown the nightlight.
“Okay. So there won’t be anything to be scared of while you’re sleeping, alright?”
Nodding again, this time sullenly like he didn’t quite believe what his mother was saying, Levi frowned and looked to the ground, his expression now turning into something pouty that made his bottom lip stick out. It was because Kuchel was getting ready to leave, Kenny figured, so that she could catch her flight out to the cruise ship, and Levi could apparently tell that it was time. He was unhappy about it, obviously, and so was Kuchel, who had explained to Kenny that she’d never left Levi for this long before. Kenny didn’t think it was that big of a deal because it was just a damn week and the kid probably wouldn’t even remember this shit later, but whatever. She wasn’t going to hear that, and their goodbye took so long that Kenny had to go take a seat on the nearby couch.
Slumping down on it with his long legs stretched out in front of him, he watched Levi cling to Kuchel like she was leaving him for good, his face pressed into her clothing pitifully while she rubbed at his back and hair and hugged him close. She was murmuring shit to him too that Kenny was now too far away to overhear, but that he presumed was more baby talk and reassurances to keep him from losing it. He honestly had the air of someone who was about to cry, which, of course, was nothing that Kenny had confidence in his ability to deal with - at least in any type of way that his sister would approve of, anyway. Thankfully, though, she managed to soothe him enough so that he eventually let go of her, his now slightly red, wet cheeks coming into view when she turned him around.
“He’s alright.” She said, kissing the side of his face one last time before she wiped the beads of snot that had accumulated under his nose with a tissue. “He’s going to be brave.”
Beside him, Uri brought his hands up to his chest and smiled like he’d just witnessed a miracle while Kenny grimaced, his expression only growing worse when Uri suddenly reached down to grab something to hold onto in an awed, silent rush of emotion. Unfortunately, what he sought out happened to be Kenny’s fingers, and unfortunately, Kenny had long ago lost the strength that it took to pull away. Instead, he told himself that he was just humoring Uri and not actually thinking about how soft his hands were, but that didn’t stop his ears from burning like a stupid teenager or something when Kuchel caught sight of it and smirked wickedly.
It was the expression of a ruthless sibling who had just realized they’d just found new, embarrassing ammo to shoot the other one with, and Kenny fully expected her to start right then and there, to stand up and relentlessly tease him about it until he thought he might explode. Uri always laughed and smiled knowingly while she did that - which did not fucking help - but thankfully, she instead focused on getting out the door, giving Uri a hug and a kiss on the cheek while uttering some last minute instructions about what kind of food Levi liked before saying goodbye to him for good, the look she gave Kenny giving him no doubt that she was just going to file that shit away for later.
Look how soft you are. He could almost hear her saying. What happened to my brother, who used to say he didn’t need anyone?
Scowling at the imaginary conversation he was now having in his head - When had he ever said he needed Uri? He hadn’t; he just chose to have him around because he wanted to - Kenny gave his sister another quick, rowdy hug before she left, mumbling something to her about having a good time before she was gone. She’d given Levi one more wave before she’d walked out the door and told him to be good, and Kenny found that he could not give the kid any shit for the stricken look on his face when he suddenly felt a similar emotion inside too.
Shit. He thought, absentmindedly scrubbing his fingers through his beard again. What the fuck did he do now? What should he get the kid, if anything? Food? Water? Milk? Why wasn’t he talking? He was just standing there, and he hadn’t said a single thing in Kenny’s presence since he’d walked in, he realized, but he was pretty sure he was old enough to speak. He had heard him say shit to Kuchel once before, hadn’t he?
“Hey, kid.” He said at that thought, swallowing the trepidation - he wasn’t going to be intimidated by a toddler, that was ridiculous - when they all remained silent for a few more seconds and Uri looked at him expectantly. He motioned for him to do something encouragingly too, but Levi, on the other hand, was eyeing them both with that shitty stare on his face again. He looked sinister, in fact, like he was standing there plotting all of the ways he was going to misbehave and wreck Kenny and Uri’s house, but he had to say something, he guessed. “You remember me, don’t’cha? I’m your Uncle Kenny. Are you gonna behave for us while your mom’s gone?”
As he’d spoken, Kenny had crouched down in front of Levi like he’d seen Kuchel do, draping his arms over his legs casually and doing his best to look him in the eye even though he was still about a foot above his head. In response, naturally, the kid just kept staring at him, his eyes looking him up and down once like he was fucking sizing him up or something before, surprisingly, he finally did speak.
“You’re not my dad.” He declared, in an obstinate tone that made Kenny frown.
“No shit.” He responded, snorting loudly and crudely in a way that caused Levi to make a face. “That’s a good thing. Your dad was a worthless, no good son of a bitch fuckwad, and-
“Kenny!” Uri hissed at that, interrupting him by shoving his bony elbow into the side of his shoulder as best he could.
Oh right, he remembered. He wasn’t supposed to curse.

Symmrat Week Day 5
For today's prompt I decided to have it take place from the perspective of an overwatch OC of mine, Fae, looking back at her family's past. Hope you enjoy!
You can also read this on my AO3 if you prefer!
(Also IDK how since i don’t think you have a tumblr anymore, but if you ever find this Shivani I named a character after you and there's nothing you can do about it! Ha ha! (Shivani's an IRL bud of mine since kindergarten.))
Fae always loved looking at Mom and Dad’s photo albums. Going through them one disk at a time always made her feel like she was reading a story through the countless candid shots. A story about family coming together and growing into something bigger, much like the Overwatch organization itself. And even though she didn’t appear in any of the albums until the third disk when she was eight that she still held a place in the story. That her place in the Viswani Fawkes family was real.
The first disk was surrounded Mom and Dad only. The start of their relationship, their work and friendship with the rest of their team. It always made her heart warm, you could just see over the whole course of pictures how her Mom and Dad had slowly fallen deeper in love. One of Fae’s favorite pictures from the disk was a candid shot Aunt Hana always bragged about taking. Apparently Mom had made a joke that had made Dad laugh ridiculously and in the picture her Dad was captured mid-laugh, hands clutching his gut and a wide smile on his face and his hair appeared to be on fire. And her Mom, wearing her old Vishkar uniform watched, beaming with pride. Also it was one of the few pictures with Uncle Hog in it. He’d never liked having his picture taken but this had been one of the few exceptions. She really missed him… And the disk continued to their wedding. It was a small ceremony that took place on the beach in Gibralter. Mom looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress and Dad looked like an entirely different person from the man she knew with his hair neat and pulled back and stand back-straight in a suit. Fae always loved to play a game of eye-spy with all the old Overwatch members. As everyone was dressed in gowns and suites instead of all their normal armor.
The second disk was baby pictures of her brother and sister, When the Viswani/Fawkes family began to develop and grow. And from this disk her favorite picture was one of her older brother as a small newborn baby sleepy soundly on Dad’s chest somewhere outside the Gibralter base. It was sweet picture but the truer reason she loved it was because while the sight was misleadingly peaceful, when Bo went to find the spot it was actually a ledge 75 feet off the ground. Dad had somehow managed to climb up the entire ledge with a newborn child. Not to mention somehow a picture had been taken of the two of them as well.
Then came Shivani and her album on the third disk. Shivani was a young architect and lawyer protégé with Vishkar when the corporation fell apart. She’d been taken in as an orphan and when the company went under she had no place to go so Mom had taken her under her wing. Now Shivani was like a big sister to her and her siblings. As for Fae this is where her pictures began as well.
She was what the government and media in Australia had dubbed “second-generation omnium survivors”. Kids who had been born out in the wastelands long after the Omnium blew. Kids like her were known to have a melting-pot of genetic mutations and diseases due to being born in such a hazardous world. Most never lived past twenty. Even Fae who managed to luck for the most part in the health department had still been born with her fair-share of scars. If she were lucky enough to grow any hair it was thin and frail and was an off-white peach color. And all across her face and upper torso were these discolorations that made her skin look like it were covered in sores like a leper. She couldn’t remember much of her life in the outback, she knew she must have had some sort of family that kept her alive but even now in her late twenties she could only see blurry faces and endless miles and miles of sandy wasteland in her memories. When she was a kid, Australian finally got its act together to try and solve what they’d dubbed “the post-omnium crisis” and transport people out of the area and into the cities. However they aid had come years too late and the only people they could get to leave the Junkertown were children. Though the news casters always said “second-generation omnium survivors” to make the operation sound like less of a failure. And all these “second-generation omnium survivors” were tossed into overflowing orphanages with little hope of being adopted. Many of them died from unnoticed and untreated medical conditions caused by radiation before they could age out of the agency.
And even though she only possessed a skin-level mutation she’d had a miserable time when she’d been sent to an adoption agency. Other kids said she was diseased, some had even called her a monster. And she hated the way the few families coming in praised for their “altruistic grace in wanting to adopt such wild and unruly poor children” would cringe at her when they were introduced. She had feared that she was never going to be adopted and she have just stayed in Junkertown.
Until one day when she was nine, one very strange-looking family came to the orphanage. The Mom and kids seemed ordinary enough but the Dad walked around on a peg leg and had a robotic arm. She’d never seen anyone in the city have such scrappy looking prosthetics. And there was a second man with them, he was colossal. Bigger than any person she’d seen before, and rounder too. And he wore a leather pig-shaped mask to hide his face. As soon as they saw her they all came over and introduced themselves. Fae had been ready for them to say goodbye and move on to the prettier-looking kids but much to her surprise they stayed with her all day. Playing games with her, listening to her stories, listening to everything she said actually. They’d even taken her out to lunch where ever she liked. And one week later the stacks of paper work began and a few months later she officially became Fae Viswani Fawkes.
Sometimes Fae felt some bitterness that she never had an album like the second disk. She would never know what she looked like as an infant, if she always had her discolorations, or what her parents looked like. But as she looked over disk 3, at the photos of younger her playing with Mom as she made hard-light snowflakes, at her birthday being in awe as Dad used a blowtorch to light the sparkler on her cake, sitting up on Uncle Hog’s shoulders, she still felt this nostalgic warmth and content. She may have had a terrible start but somehow she still ended up in the care of Satya and Jamison Viswani Fawkes. She ended up with a family, that she was loved and cared for. That she had truly come far and that there were more disks of photos yet to be made.
And now she was keeping her family’s legacy alive working alongside them and all her friends in Overwatch. Donning on a mask and taking flight on hard-light wings, supporting her teammates from the air. Trying in the way’s she learned to make the world a better place. Just like her Mom and Dad and Uncle Hog had…
