A Thought occured to me that may explain YouTube’s actions over the past few years.
It occured to me just now, that YouTube is trying to get rid of all of its content creators from the platform.
And yes, BIG idea, but hear this out.
1 - YouTube, as shown by MattPatt has been aiming to compete with TV itself and is winning
2 - YouTube has shown 0 willingness to communicate with its userbase unless its a major company situation or shareholders, Look to ANY case of youtube controversy regarding copyright abuse, it is INSTANTLY handled when its vs a Company, but its bearly existant for anyone else.
3 - YouTube has Supported and ignored the flaws of any and all toxic youtubers and corporations UNTIL harassed and bullied into taking it down, which case they take the minimum possible measures to sate the crowd.
4 - YouTube has left a copyright system that is so broken it is infamous while not just refusing to fix it, but encouraging it further by removing dislikes and blameshifting, as well as refusal to stop bad actors unless strongarmed as stated before.
5 - YouTube has no reason to actually care about its userbase. Originally it did, and it even ran a loss to kill all competition, but now that all major organizations in the planet have recognized YouTube, They don’t need crowdfunding as much as they used to. Other companies have completely jumped the shark and abandoned their entire original audiences before, such as Konami with videogames ditching for pachinko machines. YouTube very well might be doing this.
6 - YouTube has constantly prioritized pleasing Shareholders and Corporations over its userbase by forcing child-friendly circumstances DESPITE the arguable illegality of it, due to the distinct alt site of YouTube Kids which has next to no moderation, indicating they don’t care a single bit about actually making YouTube Kids work. Main site is all they want and nothing else.
This is not a strong case, but its strong enough to be worth looking into, Especially with the suspect manner of the ACTMAN case. I believe that YouTube is being corporately sabotoged by YouTube itself or Google itself. I’d like to see if anyone has anything else that can add to this possible corporate conspiracy theory, or disprove it.

Reverse X-Files series where in every episode the protagonists investigate some apparently mundane crime which, through a series of unlikely contrivances, turns out to have been caused by aliens. The leading duo consists of a prissy, straight-laced forensic accountant who’s obsessed with cracking open a massive case of corporate malfeasance (and is endlessly frustrated that every lead they follow keeps turning up aliens instead), and well-meaning but absent-minded cryptozoologist who thinks their partner is paranoid for regarding corporate misconduct as a more likely explanation than aliens.

I think the real, worrying, on-going problem with Unity is the fact that the investors and CEO no longer have incentive to keep the company alive.
They all sold massive amounts of stock before making the change. They knew this would kill Unity. They don’t care. In fact, they’re doing it on purpose. They sold their stock high, gave the company its death knell and now they’re just waiting for some trickle of extra revenue to be brought in by game developers when the change goes into affect, and once developers and gaming corporations start switching away from Unity, they’ll fold the company, not care, and be richer because if it.
Unity is dying on purpose, and there isn’t anything that can be done.

This is so goddamn real, I once saw an unnamed company DDoS itself multiple times in one week because they didn't take into account how their network would be affected by forcing OS patches across the entire fleet through their VPN if they happened all at the exact same time.
And the person who knew how to script the staggering so that wouldn't happen had been laid off because they cost too much less than a year prior.

Something I always wonder with the whole: "The lazy populous doesn't want to work!" is if it's only being said to keep minimum wage at the very, very lowest end of 'survivability.'
The "lazy worker" isn't truly a problem. The employers are.
#politics#this is my old man conspiracy theory#it's insane when you actually start job searching and you apply fucking Everywhere and it's crickets#job announcement: no experience required! we'll train you! you're actually PERFECTLY qualified#you apply and then NOTHING. and then you listen to the news or other people#and they complain about how 'lazy' the modern worker is and how employers are DESPERATE for people to work for them...#...and you'll end up knowing better if you haven't soaked up the individualist corporate shill propaganda i think...#...that propaganda (at least in the US) is the idea that the individual worker is always at fault...#...that if they never get a job - even 'entry-level' - that it is THEIR fault...#...if you don't want to work minimum wage get a maximun-effort job!!!!!...#...if you want to Get Hired then make yourself Hireable!!!!!!!!!...#...you must be Indispensable (but potentially for $7.25/hour)!!! it is Up To You!!!...#...make records! never ask for anything! never complain! never dare bite the corporate hand which feeds you!!!!!!!!#that's the type of shit i grew up with at least. and i cannot buy that it isn't propaganda in a world hostile to any layman#i wonder if the romanticized version of the 60s-70s working class in the US is completely true as well...#...i just wonder if we are idealizing a past which never truly occurred for the worker...#...simply because these tactics Aren't New and Aren't Considered Morally Reprehensible because of the Bottom Line#this last part is tangentially-related but i always question whenever people have rose-colored views of The Past

"Did Bakura ever find out who murdered Pegasus" Almost certainly not, imo. The only witness was Yami Bakura who has no reason to tell him. They all got replica millennium eyes during dinner which YB switched the real one with, so finding it in his pocket later wouldn't have been suspicious, and in fact he would expect one to be there. Likewise no one would tie the stolen eye to the murder or even mention it in reports, because by all appearances it was never stolen. The only thing that could tip Bakura off was the timing, which isn't a lot--there was so much crazy intrigue and magic going around on that deserted island, and YB had been on such deliberate good behavior since Monster World, that if we didn't all have the pre-existing knowledge of what YB's aims are then we'd never think he had a motive to kill the guy who's been kidnapping and murdering everyone else's loved ones all weekend. Yami Bakura is the last person we would suspect might kill Pegasus on an island full of people who loathe Pegasus.
It is certainly possible that the conspicuous blackout period made Bakura suspicious, but he'd been having voluntary conspicuous blackouts all weekend, and Bakura is...pretty good at ignoring and rationalizing away the fact that the ring is obviously dangerous. If he thought of it I don't think he did so for very long, seeing as there's zero evidence. I really do think Yami Bakura just got away with murder here.

christ almighty some people are sad fucking miseries huh
#red said#all art that is rewarded by capitalism must be actively preventing you resisting Hegemonic power abloobloobloobloo#fuck me get over yourself#is art a powerful tool for propaganda subject to corporate capture? yes#is art necessary to be human? also yes#all art carries the weight of the society it exists in. and yes revolutionary art is either buried or defanged by the power it protests#so no you're unlikely to see like. Art That Smashes The System on a large scale. the revolution will not be televised.#art is not going to change the world but art can change you. and you change the world be existing in it.#and you are changed and resonated with in ways that are many and unpredictable bc people resonate differently with different things#capitalism isn't. a conspiracy. it's an ideology and system of power.#it's human. and can we be real if there's one thing I'm learning from this EEAAO thing it's that people are really blind#to messages that fully don't land with them#capitalism isn't some infallible godking who foils your every move. art that moves you can still move you#the criticism that art which is lauded by the authorities cannot be truly anti-capitalist art is one thing#to extend that to say art which is lauded by the authorities cannot be positively meaningful AT ALL and can only be counterrevolutionary#is HOG FUCKING WILD like. first off. think about any work of art you can name from the last 1000 years.#guess what. probably a product of the patronage of power. political philosophy too. making art costs. gaining an audience costs.#we exist within a network of systems of power. even within underground and independent art scenes structures of power play in#nonetheless. we require art.#and art is not just for direct political confrontation. art is an act of connection and resonance.#never mind art that's inadequately revolutionary - art that's entirely capitalist is ALSO capable of positive political impact#because a) it acts on people. and politics. is a frame around people. the point of opposing unjust hierarchy is to achieve wellbeing#like. why are you doing politics if not for people? who is it for? for the abstract symbolism of moral purity?#and b) because art is a frame for building your sense of the world. And you bring your own stuff to that.#if you're radically inclined then reading idk les mis can leave you with the idea that revolution is futile.#or with the sense that there's deep vitality and importance to holding your ground against unjust power despite the knowledge of the odds#or with the sense that revolution is personal not political#or with the sense that the personal is metaphorical for the political and that our drive is to act against the law to protect each other#it depends what you bring to the text

Ghost in the Shell Video Game
Civilians drafted into the US Military under threat of violence often refused to shoot people on the battlefield until military researchers desensitized troops to violence with simulations which the military-industrial-complex turned into the video game industry and made civilians so eager to kill that the draft is no longer needed and even protesters voluntarily surrender tax dollars for video game sales which fund the military tyranny and violence they protest against.
Inform video gamers of these facts and they still disagree, so apparently video games also cause retardation.

So something just struck me about Miles Axlerod right
You know how part of his story is that he’s a gasoline car that pretends to have converted to electric, right? Mater specifically calls out that he has a V8 engine, which is a very powerful engine that should make incredible noise and be immediately known to everyone that a V8 engine is running somewhere nearby
But I noticed something
Tumblr media
Let me show you the specific part I noticed
Tumblr media
Okay you see how his wheels have little brass-colored things? I think those are coils of wire.
coils of wire like on THIS ELECTRIC MOTOR
Tumblr media
Which would explain why he’s able to move around without creating all the noise of a V8 engine - he has electric motors in each wheel to power them! Like a Tesla! He doesn’t need to run his engine to move his wheels. He’s a hybrid car!
But then that obviously begs the question - why? Why would he go through all the trouble of having motors installed into his wheels and solar panels installed on his body to become a hybrid, and then claim to be an electric car? Is it possible that he really truly intended to become an electric car but some complication prevented the engine from being removed?
See I headcanon that in the Cars world, mechanical presentation is like their equivalent of gender presentation - so Axlerod is like the equivalent of a trans person who decides to get top surgery, but not bottom surgery. He was already electric! In a sense, since he was using the solar panels and driving his wheels by electric motors, he wasn’t using any gasoline at all. The engine is a very personal thing to a car so if he decides to keep it, despite becoming electric otherwise, then he has every right to.
