Teyvat’s School for the Gifted

Summary: He's cruel, mean, and sadistic. Lumine cannot fathom why he has the followers he does, but she won't fall into his hands like the rest of them. It was unknown to her at that time how such a stance would cause the biggest uproar the schools ever seen.

This is the silly drama filled high school/college parody AU nobody asked for filled with Lumine not giving a shit and Childe trying to buy his way out of problems.

Chapter 2

She had two options to think about after that ‘encounter’ or whatever you want to call it. Get in line like the rest of the students and eventually ‘hopefully’ her new toy status wears off and she fades into the sea of students. But that would depend on how HE acts after the dinner encounter. And something told Lumine from the way Amber and Barbara reacted to even speaking of the red headed devil he was a force to be reckoned with.

She tossed and turned in the night thinking of different scenarios for the morning.

There were boys like him back home. Maybe not filthy rich, sons of local shop owners, that acted like him. None of them possessed the same air as he did. Being able to part a sea of students just by walking has to be a superpower in itself.

Come to think of it she didn’t even find out where he was from, perhaps she should ask. The more info the better when it comes to defending herself.

She was never one to sit down and take abuse. When she was just in grade school the local boys knew not to mess with her after a few unfortunate incidents. Her mother always told her it was her blonde hair and honey eyes that made her stand out.

It always starts with them testing you. Small things to annoy you, just to see how you react. She would not be able to keep her temper down if that happened. She already had an issue with her mouth as it is.

She turned one final time in the plush bed she had been provided with. The school had made sure even the scholarship students were treated above average. It was impressive, but did little to dampen her jitters.

First day, which means new people and new teachers. Lumine was walked by Amber and Barbara to the faculty building. Razor was found sitting on a bench halfway there. It brought a smile to her face.

Razor had never left Amber’s side the entire night they sat talking. It was girl gossip that Lumine was never into, but enjoyed now that she had some people to actually talk to. Not many people are willing to come to a run-down farm for a sleepover back home. Razor himself didn’t talk much, but Lumine was observant. He sat on her bed and watched her, every action, smile, glance. Lumine was quite interested in understanding what Ambers reservations about him were. She seemed to like him from her perspective.

More questions for later.

A plump woman greeted her at the front desk. She was cheerful, but not like Mrs. Lee was, instead giving off warm motherly tones. Lumine could imagine her doting on all the students she came in contact with.

“Here you are dear.” She handed her a slip of paper with her classes.

“Thanks,” Lumine said quietly as she read the sheet. Alchemy, ancient runes, adventuring 101, history, then finally vision training. She internally laughed at the last class, perhaps they were going to rename it. She pulled on the collar of her school issued cardigan as it threatened to slide off one shoulder.

“Just head out to the academics building Mrs. Lee showed you yesterday and a student will be waiting to guide you to your classes,” The woman told her. Lumine nodded and gave back a genuine smile before turning to leave.

It was easy to pick out the student waiting for her in front of the buildings doors despite the crowds entering and exiting. It was a green haired girl nervously fisting her skirt between fidgeting with her glasses. Two small animal ears poked out from under her main of messy hair. She wore her skirt long, unlike the rest of the student body (and Lumine herself), and covered up with a baggy school issued cardigan like Lumine’s.

“Are you the one waiting for the new girl?” Lumine asked. The girl snapped out of a nervous trance and a blush covered her features.

“Ah! Y-yes,” She stuttered before taking a breath, “Sorry I get nervous easily, my names Sucrose,” she extended a hand.

“Thats a pretty name, I like it,” Lumine said as she returned the handshake. She hoped it might calm her down but Sucrose turned scarlet instead.

“I-I'll walk you to your class,” She mumbled and walked inside. Lumine followed silently, deciding the best course of action was to not embarrass her further.

She led her to a decently sized class of students with a portly teacher standing in the front. He wore robes and a ridiculously oversized wizards' hat. The site was an oddity in Lumines eyes, having only ever had exceptionally plain teachers back home. Sucrose left Lumine at the front of the class as she shuffled over to the teacher, managing to get his attention with a simple clearing of her throat. Lumine decided to inspect the chalk board instead of the students. She didn’t want to know if the red headed asshole was in here yet.

“Ah yes Lumine!” The teacher bellowed and waved her over. She stepped lightly up onto his raised platform as sucrose scurried to her seat in the front row. “My name is professor Rasmodius, take a seat next to Zhongli back there,” He pointed off into the right of the room. Lumines stomach sank at the mention of a familiar name. She dragged herself to the back of the class and slid into the empty stool next to him.

They made eye contact and she swore she could see the gears turning in his mind before he spoke.

“He’s not in this class,” He said in monotone.

Lumine choked on her own spit, “w-what?” she asked him.

“He’s not here, if that is what you are worried about,” He smiled down at her sweetly. Lumine felt her face heat up.

“I don’t care if he's here or not,” She quickly recovered and crossed her arms.

“Hm,” He put a hand on his chin, “You had the same gaze as most other new females.”

“Yes, well sorry for being nervous.”

“Perhaps I have made a wrong assumption, I apologize,” He turned his body to her, “Zhongli of the Wangsheng funeral parlor.”

Lumine fumbled a bit at his words. Was it normal to greet someone with your name and what company you hail from? She eyed him wearily for a moment then decided to screw it. Not like they wouldn’t find out if she lies.

“Lumine of a very poor farm outside of Mondstadt.”

He chuckled in a low deep tone. Lumine felt her façade falling as her heart sped up.

“Sorry, perhaps too formal?” He asked.

“You talk like you are speaking to a business partner,” she told him honestly.

“Ive been told that before, even by my friends,” He admitted. For the first time Lumine’s lips quirked into a teasing smile.

“Alright class today we will be looking into the mythical potions of Esteria! page 103!” The teacher commanded. The room filled with the sounds of turning pages.

“I didn’t get a book?” Lumine questioned.

“You will more than likely get them at some point today,” Zhongli told her as he slid his book over between them, “here share mine.”

“Thanks,” She mumbled, dipping behind her hair to hide her blush. Perhaps her friends were right, most of the group wasn’t that bad.

Okay maybe they were wrong, at least two out of the four were very very bad. She had not seen the infamous Childe today, but after alchemy Zhongli was very kind to walk her to the next class. Relieving a very thankful, yet worried, sucrose from her job.

They talked about small things, mostly how the school was going, what she thought of it, what kind of things she did back in Mondstadt. To her surprise Zhongli seemed genuinely interested in the day to day life of a poor person. He was awkwardly polite with everything, but had a sincerity to him that he wore on his sleeve.

There was just one sneaking suspicion she had regarding the man. How on earth does a funeral parlor have enough money to send their son to this school AND be the top of the food chain. Surely these boys were flooded with money otherwise the attention wouldn’t be as drastic. There were even glares tossed her way as they walked to the next class.

It was nice to have the attention, he had a smooth deep voice that sent her insides into a flurry. That was until they came upon Xiao. The boy was shorter than his tall geo counterpart and crossed his arms at their arrival. He glared at her as Zhongli added another sentence to their conversation. The words fell on deaf ears as Lumine tried to fight back a snarky remark. She had done nothing to earn this glare from him and it was irking her.

“Keep glaring like that and your face will freeze that way,” She blurted out.

“What?” He hissed at her.

“Ah,” Lumine back tracked, she didn’t mean to speak her thoughts like that, “you just look awfully peeved is all,” she decided on. He narrowed his eyes at her.

Day one, mouth already got her in trouble, nice.

They had a standoff for a few moments before Xiao conceded with a huff and turned into the room.

“Don't worry about him, he's weary of newcomers,” Zhongli said from besides her. She looked up to him for reassurance and was once again met with an honest gaze and smile.

“I-” She began to say and stopped to think about it, “I trust you.”

Even if he was lieing, what harm would come of it? She loses a friend she never even had?

Ancient runes was a snooze fest as expected. She sat next to an incredibly ordinary looking girl who should have hissed like a cat when Lumine sat down. It would have made the look she gave her less comical.

But things perked up in Adventuring 101. The class was useless to someone like her. It was basically preaching about basic safety the entire time. Don’t touch pryo slimes, they hurt. Don’t go off fighting electro monsters in the rain, that also hurts. Always have food rations and medical potions on you!

Blah.

She didn’t need this info, but it was a required class. Get a taste of everything before heading off to the college and decide what classifications you want. Stupid rules some adult made to torture the youngins.

It was fifteen minutes into the class. There was a saving grace, she had a seat next to Zhongli. He shared his book with her again and was polite and overly cordial as always. She assumed the class was full with everyone in attendance. There were a few empty desks but students could be sick or the class could have fewer students than desks.

Then HE walked in, opening the door without a care in the world, loudly. There was this beaming, disgustingly fake, smile plastered to him. A girl followed him inside, checking her makeup on a small compact mirror. They seated themselves in the empty spots adjacent to herself and Zhongli.

The teacher scolded him as he walked, but he ignored it with a shrug. His entire demeanor made her want to mop the floor with his pretty face. Just like the boys back home. She made a point to keep her eyes forwards or at the text in front of her. Not wanting to give him any ideas. There was a cold chill crawling up her spine again, he was staring.

The class continued onwards. The teacher quickly dropped the subject of publicly shaming Childe for walking in to class late. They were moving on to something at least slightly interesting she didn’t know too much about. How to read the stars and sun for location and time. It was something she never needed as she stayed close to home.

It was useful to her so she took out her notepad and began to scribble down some text out of the book as she teacher lectured. She made it a few words in before the girl next to Childe giggled in that high pitch way girls do when they are trying to impress a man.

She dared a side glance over to the table and noticed the girl enamored by him. Getting a full view of the back of her head as Childe whispered sweet nothings to her. He sensed her gaze and looked up, making eye contact. She went back to her work before the girl could turn, clearing her throat.

He was testing her; she could feel it. Between yesterday's stare down and this there was no mistaking it.

“Something wrong?” Zhongli asked her in a low whisper.

“Just a little difficult to get work done with so many distractions,” She growled.

“You will grow accustom soon,” He told her. She laughed quietly at his choice of words. Someone needed to remind him he was still a teenager.

The entire period passed with flirtatious whispers and laughs flying.

And not, one. God. Damn. Time, did the teacher say anything to the two culprits. Although something told her Childe was the true mastermind behind the distraction. She tried her best, she really did, but Lumine was never great at keeping her temper in control. Not when it came to completely asinine males making a side show out of a class.

Her pencil lead snapped on her paper.

“Shit,” she whispered.

“It seems you have snapped your lead,” Zhongli murmured. She refrained from calling him captain obvious. There was a chuckle to her right, this time clearly mocking and directed at her, she herself snapped. She turned and with pin point accuracy threw the pencil at her tormentor. The eraser bounced off his forehead, sending the object into an unknown destination in the room.

The smile fell from his features and they traded deadly glares. The girl sitting with him was busying herself cooing over him asking what's wrong. Oblivious to the events that just unfolded. Zhongli of all people fucking laughed.

She turned her glare into a smug grin reading ‘what are you gunna do about it? now shut the hell up’ and turned back to her work. She leaned back and crossed her arms.

“Well played young lady,” Zhongli whispered to her.

The option of fading into the background had vanished.

Chapter Four: 1st. Déjà Vu

Jerry arrived the next morning and immediately after Anne arranged everything to have the marathon the next day.

His house was always packed with people during the Holidays because his siblings would bring wives and children, without mentioning his youngers siblings that still lived there (Jerry had a huge family) so they usually did their reunions in Green Gables.

They were currently in their third movie of the day (Anne’s choice: Mamma Mia!) when Jerry noticed they were running out of snacks.

“Do they make you starve back in Uni?” He huffed, looking at the empty bowl between them. “How can you eat so fast?”

“Hey, you’re eating too, is not just me!” She retorted.

“Pause, I’ll go to the kitchen.”

Anne paused the movie and picked up her phone while Jerry disappeared in the kitchen.

“How’s college treating you?” She asked loudly so he could hear her. “Agricultural engineering still feels as exciting as before?”

“More now than ever!” He replied. “I’m halfway there…”

“Good to hear you’re having fun,” Anne grinned. “I admit I had my doubts.”

“Why, cause I was lazy during highschool?” He walked into the room, a refilled bowl on his hands. “I was sluggish, not stupid.”

“You're sure about that?” She tilted her head, laughing at his expression.

“Sure, laugh at the guy with a big family and little resources,” He rolled his eyes. “You’re heartless, not all of us were born to have the luck you’ve got as the only daughter of two old farmers, Madame Cordelia.”

Anne froze in place, something about the nickname sparking a distant feeling.

“Anne?” Jerry eyed her with caution. “All good?”

“Huh,” Anne raised a brow. “I felt the weirdest deja vu…”

“Well, you make fun of my social status all the time, so…”

“Oh stop that,” She laughed, lightly nudging his shoulder. “That’s not true!”

“Yeah, yeah,” He brushed off. “I know it lacks importance in your priviliged bubble…”

Anne laughed again, her eyes going back to the bright screen of her phone.

“Talking about privilege,” She handed the phone to her friend. “I honestly don’t know why people is so interested in celebrities’ lives…”

“Because they're dramatic,” Jerry read quickly through the article. “Why are you reading about Kim Kardashian’s baby?”

“My biggest weakness has always been clickbaits,” She sighed. “But honestly, look at the birthday party they threw for her– that girl won’t have a single moment of privacy in her life!”

“Who cares, she’s rich,” Jerry snorted.

“She’ll care once she grows up and realize she won’t have the freedom to make the mistakes any normal teenager should be allowed to do.”

“She can, if she doesn’t care about the paparazzi, that is,” The boy shrugged. “Should I press play now?”

Anne was still very much invested on their chat, but since he was showing zero effort to continue, she decided it was better to just forget about it. He was right, anyway. That girl would grow up to be famous and rich, her life was practically solved and it hadn’t even properly started!

Still, she couldn’t help but wonder if that girl would ever truly feel happy with her life, if there wouldn’t be a part of her wishing to just be… normal.

“Do you have to put that on while we’re getting ready?” Gilbert whined.

Bash had turned on the tv and immediately changed it to one of those shows focused on Hollywood drama and influencers’ scandals.

“What? It’s entertaining,” The man grinned. “Makes you feel better about having a boring life, doesn’t it?”

“Not like I ever wished to be famous in the first place, but I guess you have a point,” Gilbert stared at the screen as he dried the glasses in front of him.

They were talking about a singer that had recently lost a lot of weight, and the main focus wasn’t her weight lost (which Gilbert considered, as a doctor, the most important part) but the way she looked in that bikini with all that “extra skin” hanging around. It was sickening.

“Honestly, who the hell cares about that?” He huffed. “She looks happy, that’s all people should care about. Why are they so obsessed with knowing every little detail? What good does it bring to them?”

“You’re sounding like a bitter old man,” Bash slapped his arm with a towel. “Stop whining and let me watch my nonsense in peace. Once we open the doors to the public you can change the tv to animal planet or Discovery, if you like. The clients will love it...”

“Some of them do!” Gilbert said defensively.

“Why don’t you go and help Mary in the kitchen, I don’t know, chop some carrots.”

Gilbert winced at this, and he felt a sharp sting on his forehead that caused him to stop for a second.

“What?” Bash walked up to him. “Is that hangover still in your system?”

Gilbert lifted a hand and gently massaged the place that had stung, his right temple.

“Maybe I’m still weary from my terrible sleeping schedule during the semester...”

“You’re sure you’re ready to start working?” Bash examined him more carefully. “It’s okay, Mary and I can handle the place for a few more days on our own–”

“No, I want to help,” He straightened his posture. “I’ll take an aspirin if the pain comes back, maybe it was some sort of spasm.”

“Well, you’re the doctor here,” His brother raised his hands in defeat, he walked back into the kitchen raising his voice so he could hear him. “Just a reminder, I need you fully recovered by the time we throw our fiftieth anniversary party for the Orchard.

“Yeah, yeah, I know… and I’m not a doctor yet!” He argued.

His eyes went back to the screen, watching as they played a video of some random actor doing backflips on the beach.

“Celebrities…” He shook his head.

Gilbert felt quite content for the rest of the day, no headaches making special appearances. The whole show business subject was still bothering him, though. He concluded he was quite lucky to be a simple, small-town med student.

Okay look its about 1 in the morning while im writing this and i just got done literally scrolling thru @jungshookz e n t i r e page and honestly ive been delusionally laughing over her stories for like an hour and a half like the tattooartist!jungkook fic legit killed me i love it and i’m probably going to force my friend to check her out because legit i love it so much and she seems like such a funny person and if she sees this 1) ily and ur writing and i wanna be friends but idk how to start a conversation because im a awKwARd bEan and 2) im sorry for probably spamming ur notifications with likes okay i couldnt help it so now im inspired for the first time in a while to write but im way to loopy to put together an actual fic so enjoy this ig

First day of school cliche where you show up late to class and have to sit next to him because i d i e for those plots okay

But you dont know thats him because you’ve never seen him, so you’re confused on why most of the girls keep glaring at you

But soon enough you catch on and you’re like fml

And then the professor is like “where you are sitting is your assigned seating for the rest of the year” and you’re like f m L

He ends up introducing himself to you because i mean like table buddies

But hes really nervous because hes a cute little bean and you’re hella cute cuz lets be honest ur probably wearing like basic black leggings and a hoodie with your hood over your head to hide the bed hair you didnt feel like brushing that morning

He notices when u zone out because you start staring at his lips when hes talking and he thinks its the cutest thing

One day u get assigned a week long project and ur close enough friends with jungkook to basically scold and force him to come to class all week

But only if he can force u to come to his house to work on it after school

Which you’re low key nervous of because ur going to a ‘fuckboy’s house’ by yourself

And u dont wanna do the dirty because ur a pure child haha not for long

But you agree anyway

And honestly even after the project is done (which you got an A on) you continue going over to his house because his bed is comfortable and he always has snacks

And his mom loves you

Like legit on days you dont go the next day you do she’s like “wheRE WERE YOU”

When the semester is over the professor lets you pick seats but you both enjoy each other’s company so you stay seated together.

finally ur at his house one day and ur just laying on his bed scrolling thru insta and he’s sitting on his bean bag in the corner on his phone and u look up at him and realise

And u mentally face palm because this was not supposed to happen

But it happened and you’re too far down the hole to climb out

Sometimes u end up napping at his house after school because his bed is more comfortable than yours and one friday night u wake up in his arms

And its like the best feeling ever

Its so warm and hes so cuddly hes like latched onto you

You stay under the warm blankets before you question when he even got in bed since he was playing video games before you fell asleep

And then his phone lights up and ofc you check it for him bc ur a nosey bitch

But not before you observed how adorable he was while he was sleeping

Nope not creepy at all

its his friend tae texting him (you didn’t really know his friends since you had different friend groups)

You check it and its smth like “stop staring at y/n while shes sleeping and reply u creep”

And you’re like w a t

So you scroll up and see that while u were sleeping jungkook went on a full rant on how cute u are and how whipped he is

And ur like holy fadoodles dis boy likes me

And so u decided to text tae like “this is y/n, does he actually like me”

Which turns into you both having a convo on how thirsty jungkook is until he wakes up

Hes like wtf r u doing and he snatches the phone and reads through your messages with tae while u like sit up to stare at him

And he’s still half asleep so it takes him to realise whats going on

“Omfg y/n i can explain-”

He starts rambling about how long he had been crushing on u and that he didn’t want to tell you because you seemed uninterested so he kept it a secret and never told anyone

And honestly he was freaking out because the onE tiMe he tells anyone that he likes you, you find out

But while he’s rambling you’re coming up with an excuse to text your mom that you’re spending the night at his house, so you just say he’s not feeling well and his parents are gone for the weekend.

Lmao she doesnt care she’s just like “lmao ik ur lying but have fun dont get pregnant”

Or Maybe thats just my mom idk

You have to shut him up by snatching his phone out of his hands and kissing him

When you pull away you’re just like “you talk too much lmao”

You explain to him that you like him too and u just get under the covers again and snuggle up next to him, and he wraps his arms around you

And you stay like that for a while before hes like “its late you should get home”

And you tell him you’re staying the night whether he likes it or not

And he is so down for that

But then you end up just spending the weekend there because why not his parents love you

And every night is just filled with cuddling, watching netflix, making out, late night snacks, etc.

Saturday night he gets a lil touchy and soon enough ur like straddling him and grinding your hips against his

But then he’s like “Ive never done this before” and you c o m b u s t

Ur like aren’t you like the school fuckboy how have you not done this

And he tells you its all just rumors and hes too lazy to set the record straight

And you basically decide to take things slow that night since it was you’re first time too and honestly it was so cute

It wasn’t really steamy rough sex it was more soft fluffy love making that is filled with giggling and exploring and appreciating each other

That was definitely the night you fell in love with him

Which is big because you thought love was gross

The next day you’re cuddling and he’s like “you know ur my gf now”

And ur like duh

You start going on cute dates after that like going to cafes or amusement parks

He loved taking you to the beach during the summer because u looked gr8 in a bikini

You found out you were going to the same college with was fantastic, so you decided to rent an apartment together nearby the campus instead of living in a dorm.

Which normally you’d be against because moving in together so quickly ?? but you felt different like this relationship was going to last

UNTIL HE CHEATED

But ofc you set some boundaries.

Overall your relationship was perfect and you couldn’t ask for a better boyfriend

I mean he brought you pizza rolls and dr pepper to ‘study dates’ how could you not love him.

Bio

I am a Vancouver, Bc based professional model. I am a single mom of 3 beautiful girls. I am a sculptured nail artist/nail technician as well as an advocate ( Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Autism, Depression , Anxiety disorders , Self Harm ETC...) I started John Casablancas modeling college when I was 17, right out of highschool. After graduating modelling school I decided I was too shy to continue. Over the years I played around with friends and family between modelling and being photographer. It was always apart of who I am, what I wanted to be. I was always told I was photogenic. About 2 years ago my dad was diagnosed with lung and colon cancer. This hit me hard! I shut down! I couldnt deal or handle anything! I went into shock, a depression, mental breakdown, I honestly dont know what to call it. I didnt want to be a mom, a wife, I just pulled away from everything! I became distant, disorganized, forgetful, and most of all disconnected from my family. 16 months ago I separated from my husband of 12 yrs. I felt unattractive, undesirable, unworthy, useless and like I had accomplished nothing worth while in my life. I needed a confidence boost. I wanted to come out of my shell. Fulfill some of my dreams. Do something amazing and for my daughters, friends, family but most of all myself to be proud of! I wanted to accomplish some of my past goals my dreams. I had realized lifes too short. There was way too much I wanted and needed to experience in my life and I felt time was running out! I did my first boudoir shoot! I was scared, nervous and very self conscious!! Being an older plus size curvy girl who was shy and self consious about her body, I pushed through and forced myself out of my comfort zone! After seeing the photos I was like wow! Those look pretty cool! I did more and more branching out into pin up (as that style is perfect for curvy girls and sexy yet classy). Along the way I met different photographers and found out that yes they did want to shoot me! Obviously some werent interested which is fine. Many were and are interested!! And so my modelling journey began. Since my start 16 months ago I have shot many many times in various themes, locations and with various different photographers. Some just learning like me and moved my way up to photographers that are published and only shoot for submission! Ive met and worked with very talented and published hair and make up artists with whom I work with regularly now and have come to adore them! At this time I have 3 shoots being edited for submission ( cross your fingers) and more shoots coming up! This month alone I have 6 or 7 shoots booked!! I walked my first runway in 22 years at RAW March 1st 2017! I am having a blast! And wont stop as long as I have photographers wanting to shoot me. My goal in all of this is to obviously NOT be a super model or make a career out of modelling, as I am 40! My goal is to have fun, fulfill my dream, be creative, but most of all show my 3 daughters and the rest of the world that you can do ANYTHING your heart desires with persistence, drive, and not taking no for an answer! I want to teach my daughters and the world out there that age, size, shape, ethnicity or any other reason people come up with cannot and should not stop you from following your dream! Its up to you to push through, break those barriers and show the world that what the media perceives as beautiful, perfect and acceptable is WRONG!! We are all beautiful in our own special way. Bodies come in all shapes and sizes due to genetics, nationality, medical issues etc... we all have features that are unique and should be celebrated! Diversity is beautiful!! For those that have supported me, been there for me, photographers that had seen something in me to give me a chance! I thank you from the bottom of my heart! It means more to me then you will ever know! You have helped bring the fire back in me! Society believes that you need a “career” to make it out in life. I believe in that statement if you are planning to start a family because then it is no longer just making enough for you and your partners needs, itll be for your kids and whatever they decide to do with their life. We’ve been conditioned to believe that working part time and getting by with bills with having extra on the side isnt enough…but it is. It is if you didnt multiply. Being a lesbian i feel is like breaking everything you thought you knew and what people think about success and money as far as making a living goes. My friends are all going on with their lives, popping babies and trying to climb that latter up their careers to make more so that they could provide for their family because they HAVE TO. they wont make it in life flipping burgers if theyre thinking about THEIR future. My future is a whole different path than theirs. I wont have kids. I wont have responsiblities to be a parent. So why is it so bad for me to be doing what im doing? Im making enough to pay bills, take my girl out on dates, eat what i want, travel and still have money on the side to save after our obligations are paid. How is that not succeeding? Because im not a doctor or didnt finish college? big picture here is that this is my life, my future. Im not saying i wouldnt strive to be more, im constantly working on self developement and becoming a better human being. Im just stating that it isnt all about “what are you going to be when you grow up?” It’s about how am i going to live. What kind of life am i going to have? And from there, work backwards in achieving it. Ive always said and asked that question. Never the old “whatre you gonna be when you grow up?”. You really gonna ask someone right out of highschool that golden lifetime question when they havent lived yet? They havent even learned what love and all that stuff is! How would they know what they want their life to be like at the age of 18?! I honestly HATED that questions which leads me to really believe that you can do and be anything you want to be, its up to you.

If youre straight and was conditioned to live that typical life of go to school to get a good job to support a family, then that is on you. Im gay. A lesbian. Im not gonna have kids that ill need to support so you probably cant wrap your head around this but i do not NEED to be making that much. Doesnt mean i wont go and do it (i mean, i can if i wanted to or needed to) , but that it is not required in my life. Im fine and on track. Im enjoying my life the way i want to. Just because i dont have a degree or a 6 figure income doesnt mean im not happy and striving. Doesnt mean im poor. Im actually making a great amount of money for someone who dropped out of highschool and college. My partner is my family but im not funding little ones. Our pets are our kids, but they arent going to school. They dont need clothes that theyll constantly grow out of or need to go to the dentist and get braces or needs money for lunch and field trips or going out with friends or paying their phone bill or birthday parties and gifts or planning on going to college. If that was the case than sure, tell me i need to go back to school and get in debt and get a “good job” (if there’s even a job open in the field i went to school for). But im not going to be a typical adult with a typical family and responsibilities. Im gay. Im different from typical and im proud of myself and how far i am in life. All i want in life is to have my wife at my side and to be happy. Happiness was never defied by what job you have and how much money i make. People forget that there’s more to life than just a job. Live life the way you want to. Not what others expect you to. If you want a family and kids, than this isnt directed at you because obviously youd need to do and make more if you want to achieve that. But if you dont or arent going to have kids, dont let that expectation fool you to believing you arent doing enough. You decide what enough is and if that full time job and vacations are good enough than fuck what others think. Its your life. And hey, if you decide you can afford a family or have a plan to, go do it. You can work towards that goal and still be succeeding in my book. Dont let others beat you down because their plan is different from yours. Everyone has a different plan for what their life is going to be. The only thing that should ever matter to you is what youre doing with yours.

When he has a burden, he puts it and “shares” it with other people. Especially on my mother. When its the opposite, well. Its so embarrasing.

My brothers, they spend money on boba, computer games, he even goes for a sleepover. I rarely go out (and when i do its always the less cost, the better and its even better when i am able to save so i dont have to ask for so much) but i do spend on sale clothing. Sometimes they dont even ask and he even upgrades it. Its bad because i am comparing.

I passed on the university exam, though wanted to chose the other choice on my application. If only he let me study that degree instead, in the same university, where i went, i would be a graduate for a year now, not just now. I always convinced myself that im studying that because of the jobs when i graduate. But what wouldve worked better for me is that what i study, i already have a lot of interest in. Or, maybe this is where i should be… But i am not just done yet. He assisted my with my requirements to submit for a scholarship for another university-where i felt at that time was where i wanted to go, plus its closer to home and therefore lesser but not cheap still, expenses. So i didnt let myself dream to go into a farther one. The day of the interview came, i didnt have a way to go. Its just left like that. I recall the text i got from the university to confirm whether i will go to the interview or not. When the results came out, he said, i didnt pass the scholarship. Ok now, well yes because i didnt go for the interview. I still feel embarrassed for during highschool, excited me happily replying to schoolmates when they asked what university i would be going. It was that university. I wish they just told me i couldnt go there so that i stopped expecting. It feels as if they just let me think and dream when they already decided on that. I hate that feeling and because i still carry it, the whole time of college, i convince myself why its the best and realistic decision. I even stupidly cry all the time because of that, and thinking of what ifs. I did try to transfer, together with 2 people, but it wasnt possible since there where no many enrollees for the upcoming year and because the staff who evaluated our subjects said that it would cost a lot and that professors have full load that time. Thats what i convinced myself, that i tried. We were stuck in the situation where in no student could easily shift or transfer. Newly implemented grades 11 and 12. We were the last batch before that. Its because ive always thought about that so much that it hurt me a lot. I wish they explained that to me. That what i was in, was where i should be and could only be. I hoped for other things and not knew or realized that time im not gonna in be what i hoped for. And it hurt college freshman, sophomore, junior (still) and (sometimes) senior self. (an attempt to make this message ‘funny’). What he is not able to do, he puts on other people, but it is his responsibility or accountability, why he is not able to do that, not “lash out” on people by forcing things and not even saying why. Just why and no further explanation required. He reasons out for other things when its mainly him why it wouldnt or couldnt happen. He is belittling. I dont feel that we all thrive because of him. He wants things done in his way and it makes me angry that my mother almost always follows that and rarely shared her thoughts when she doesnt fully agree. But sometimes maybe its what she does to keep this family intact. I had this thought. I dont feel much support from them. But my mother, yes, she tries much, much, further from her best. Although, when i shared to her that i feel so disappointed in myself that i dont get high grades and always stay stuck in the same average, she agreed and even questioned why i could go past that. It hurt a lot. I do believe that parents should show support to their children. And now they are saying these things. I hate it. Its not just because theyre being honest but it does hurt a lot. But also maybe because i expect so much but then if i wouldnt, we would all be stuck in this. Mostly i. When i present ideas, i always already fear that it would not be approved of. So i already, almost automatically choose the right-for-them decision. And when my brothers present it, magically they agree. (another attempt to make this message 'funny’) but mostly, he makes us siblings expect but he doesnt almost-always push through, and i think, already knows it. i, too, and so i already lowered my expectations. Maybe its his thing. Gtg, ✈ disappointment. - - Would it be better if i come off anon? Or would this do? Thank you so much for reading. Just being able to let this off my chest is so helpful, that there is a space in this time, for people to share, less worries about judgment. And being able to have a space with other people too.

I think moving out could be a really helpful solution to all of this negativity at home at the moment, I really do. it’s definitely a scary decision! I agree with that for sure, but it’s worth taking a risk and working through the fear if it’s ultimately going to bring you peace and mental stability.

moving out will also allow you greater independence, and freedom! you’ll have the room to choose what you want to do, not what your dad wants you to do. it’s a decision that your dad isn’t likely to take well, but there’s definitely ways to work around that and to find a balance.

parents should show love and support to their children, I completely agree with you. I think your disappointment with your mum is fair, but when she’s spent a lifetime of listening to whatever you dad has to say? I can understand why she might say things like that to you (even if I don’t agree with them).

moving out isn’t easy and there can be some financial stress, but honestly? it’s a decision that sounds like 100% worth it for you, your home life isn’t really happy and positive and working for you anymore. it’s ok to move out of home if you need to, it’s ok if that’s what you need to grow as a person and to feel more confident in the decisions you make. if you just cannot move out of home at the moment? then slowly start to work on making choices for you (no matter what your parents might think!!), write down a pro and cons list if that helps you to feel confident in your choices and what you want to do? but ultimately you’re the one who’s going to be doing that activity, you’re the one that’s directly impacted so it’s down to you whether you want to do it or not. all the best <3

Hi i'm 18 and my driving test is coming up soon and i always look for quotes on cars to see for the future. My mum said she will possibly give me her car and get a new one if i pass. But on insurance quotes for the car i will be getting i will be the main driver but not the policy holder or registered keeper as i still live at home with her and she will still use the car to go shopping and things like that but I will drive that car the majority of the time. So because i am the main driver on this quote and will drive it predominantly it is not fronting? However my mums no claims will be put on this quote as opposed to her other car so is that still ok? And who will get the no claims bonus at the end of the quote the main driver or the policy holder and if its the main driver will my mum still be able to use her no claims on another car if i gain my own? The answer I seem to get is it can be statistically proven that males are more aggressive,speed and get into more accidents. That may be the case, but I am sure you can prove that a particular ethnicitiy gets into more accidents too, or that people with a particular eye color get into more accidents or that people with an IQ below 100 get into more accidents. So why don't they charge them more for car insurance too? I work freelance and I am looking into getting a health care plan. I haven't had medical insurance since elementary school but now that I'm approaching mid 20s, I wanted to prepare for the emergency, the 'just-in-case' situation. My problem is that I have a very negative impression on the insurance business and health care itself. I've gone to health clinic from a floating rib and I paid $300 to be told that I need to get tylenol LOL My relatives and friend went through some misdiagnose, multiple exams and charges. Some friends go through such a bull5hit time - one friend was charged $500 to borrow a blanket in the waiting room at a health care clinic and all she had to do was make a call and complain to cancel the full amount. We were baffled So.. they get paid $500 for lending a blanket? They take the $500 away if we complain? It's like complaining at a restaurant LOL!!! I maybe ignorant, but it makes me so upset to see people without insurance having such a hard time affording health care. Health care and insurance makes me feel like I'm giving into a manipulative scam - like buying a $120 clothing that only costs $5 to make. Car crash damage my insurance rights?

my 2009 vauxhall insignia was hit from behind sitting at a car park space in a supermarket,there is substantial amount of damage to the right hand arch right above the back wheel,the back bumper is also broken,it was hit that hard it was pushed onto the car park space in front of it,i believe what saved it from any further damage was the driver of the other car hit the wheel of my car which i guess cushioned the blow.i have went today and got estimates for the repair which is in the region of 2500 pounds though could be more as they have to put it on some sort of machine to see if the wheel alignment is of,the repair shops say what they will do is cut the arch out and put a new arch in and spray it but no matter what its never going to be the same.the reason they do it like this is because the whole back of my car runs to the front without any splits. Im not happy about this being done like this as this car today is worth around 10,000 pounds which i pay for and dont want it patched up,i would prefer if the other guys insurance wrote it off so that i can get an original car which i first had,is there anyway i can get this to be wrote of and claim it of the guys insurance,i have heard of depreciation money if my car has been hit but this is still not going to compensate me for my car being patched up. thanks""
