don't cry. pour a small-seeming serving of any pasta noodle you'd like in a deep microwave-safe bowl, just barely cover the noodles with water, microwave for roughly 2 minutes 30 seconds, stir, microwave for 2 more minutes, carefully drain the pasta water from the pasta, liberally mix shredded non-mozzarella cheese into the hot noodles, and pour small amounts of milk in (maaaybe a school milk carton's worth or two at most) to taste and to make it creamier, okay?

What is different between italian pizza and other pizza?
I can't be too sure because I've never had any other pizza (oh well, some fellow Italian may argue I never had any real Italian pizza either because I've never eaten it in Naples but that's beyond the point).
I think Italian pizza tends to have a thinner, not sponge-like dough (we have a kind of pizza that has a sponge-like dough but it's not the same, we call that 'pizza al taglio' and it is sold in bakeries rather than pizzerias):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the first kind, the entire pizza (which is made in a rectangular or square shape rather than round) lies on a thicker, sponge-like dough, whereas traditional round pizza has a thick, crunchy crust with a soft inside but it becomes extremely thin on the surface where the sauce and other toppings lay.
As for the toppings, I guess there are many cultural differences that make certain products seem either okay to stay on a pizza or a complete sin that must be avoided at all costs.
Traditional Italian pizza is supposed to only have tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese and basil (which make up the colors of the Italian flag!) ontop, but we have many other variations too. For instance, toppings that are considered normal to stay on a pizza in Italy are cherry tomatoes, anchovies, capers, black olives, other traditional kinds of cheese (ie provola, gorgonzola, grana padano, stracchino, etc), salmon, zucchini, rucola, mussels, clams, fried egg ...
The "wildest" common Italian pizza I can think of, I mean, that you'd probably be surprised to find in most pizzeria menus, is the one with fries and hot dog.
Tumblr media
It was apparently born between the 80s and 90s to try and counter the growing popularity of American fast-food (McDonald's arrived in Italy in 1985, while the first Italian fast-food chain inspired by the American ones - Burghy - was born in 1981 and later acquired by McDonald's in 2006).
You may also find it without fries, so it's basically a Margherita pizza with frankfurter ontop.

Late Night Conversations pt 1:
Gen | TW: Mentions of Poison, suspicions of assassins, discussion of fears, triggering of a phobia accidentally | Characters: OC Scarabia student, Jamil | Word count: 1,858 words | Disclaimer: I do not own Twisted Wonderland or any of the characters beyond Ika.
Jamil hummed as he stirred a container of ricotta with a handful of mozzarella cheese and sugar.
Kalim had begged him to make Kanafa. So Jamil was mixing the ingredients he had on hand as he kept a vigilant guard over the rest of the meal.
He listened for every slight movement in the kitchen and peered into the shadows to ensure that there were no unwelcome guests. Ones who would seek to contaminate the meal.
He turned over the cheese with the spoon and mixed it until the sugar had dissolved into the cheese. The familiar weight of the bangles on his wrist kept him grounded and focused as the hum of the oven reminded him to check the heat.
It wouldn't do to burn the food if he had set it incorrectly.
He ensured that his phyllo dough was spread through and touched every side of the pan.
The sound of footsteps and the shifting of the door, alerted Jamil to the approach of Ika, one of the younger students. A first year.
Their gentle shifting gait was a familiar sound during the day. But at night, in the kitchen…?.
Not a threat, he reminded himself as he forced his breathing pattern to remain languid and calm. They approached the fridge, probably hungry after the day they had.
“Evening, Ika.” He said, startling the students enough that they jolted and stilled.
“Vice.” They murmured peaceably, though their voice shook, “I didn’t notice you there.”
He nods slightly in acknowledgement of their surprise and greeting. Jamil was accustomed to this reaction, he’d found that he tends to blend into the background and go unnoticed easily, which is something he has no problem taking advantage of.
However, he couldn’t help the small sense of satisfaction he felt when he startled the young first year, it was a tiny bit satisfying.
It was a leftover feeling from the two months in which he had been Housewarden. Every student being wary of him was mildly amusing.
A reminder of how the older students still often looked to him instead of Kalim for leadership.
A quiet sense of accomplishment.
“Have a seat.” He smiled slightly, a tilt of his lips. Subtle. Not often something others got to see.
Ika paused for a second before nervously taking a seat on one of the stools by the island, still visibly nervous. They seemed to be avoiding eye contact as they folded their arms nervously. It was a simple and practical response. It was also close enough to him then he could keep an eye on them so they wouldn’t be a threat.
He settled the pan in the oven and then he watched Ika calmly from his position.
The young first-year looks quite nervous as they sit down, avoiding eye contact and folding their arms. They seem to be trying to make themselves smaller and less of a threat, but it’s clear that they’re anxious about the situation. Jamil’s calm and subtle demeanour doesn’t seem to ease them at all. He just sits there, watching them quietly, observing their every move. It’s almost as if he’s assessing them, studying their body language, mannerisms, and behaviours.
Suspicion coursed through him, a nervous ache in his heart as he thought about the possibility that this first year might be an assassin.
Jamil's sharp eye is quickly able to pick up on all the little movements Ika makes; how they fold their arms, how they nervously move their eyes around, as if scanning the environment for any kind of threat. How they avoid any contact with his gaze.
Ika didn't strike him as an assassin, not yet at least, but there is definitely something going on with this first year. They are nervous about something.
He really hoped the kid wasn’t an assassin. Ika was one of the few new students who were actually helpful in keeping the dorm running smoothly and operating around the parties Kalim threw.
"Tifl?" Jamil hummed after a moment. Jamil raised his eyes to meet theirs and he could see them shift uncomfortably at the name. They shifted the weight of their body slightly and averted their gaze. That seemed like an opening. Jamil decides to continue.
"Are you nervous about something?"
Ika shifts uncomfortably at the direct question, visibly shrinking away from him, like a mouse trying to avoid the eyes of a predator. There was clearly something that was bothering them, something that had them on edge and anxious. Jamil's calm and steady demeanour was starting to unsettle them.
"Is there anything I can help you with?" He asked again
Ika seemed to be considering their options for a moment before they relaxed a little, seeming to have gathered their resolve. Perhaps they thought they could trust Jamil.
"You know Kalim, right?" They asked, their voice still shaky and anxious. They shifted their weight, sitting up straighter now that they had decided to be open and honest.
"Yeah, I do," Jamil replied, his tone was even, and he kept a watchful eye on them still.
Point 1 for being an assassin. Suspicion surged. Jamil's guard went up as he continued to look at them. He wasn't going to give them the satisfaction of seeing how they had gotten under his skin.
"What about him?" Ika glanced to the side, then back at him, obviously considering their words before answering.
"I…I just feel uneasy around him." They fiddled with their uniform. Their breathing was shaky, and their lower lip wobbled.
Jamil blinked, confused.
“Excuse me?”
They pulled their legs up onto the stool and hugged themselves. "He's so loud."
Instantly, Jamil couldn't help but smile.
"He really is," Jamil agreed with a small laugh. The young student was starting to seem more genuine to him. They clearly were not assassin, just a kid who couldn't relate to their loud, hyperactive, and chaotic Housewarden.
"He can be quite overwhelming sometimes," Jamil admitted.
Ika sighed as they heard Jamil's reply, seeming to relax a bit more.
"It's not just that." They whispered before letting out a deep sigh. "Can I be honest with you?"
"Go ahead," Jamil's voice was soft and his head tilted slightly to the side as if signalling to the kid that he was genuinely paying attention to what they had to say. Although, he stopped to check the timer as he waited for them to speak.
"I-I have phonophobia… an-and the parties are too crowded for me to handle well…" They admitted.
Jamil's eyebrows furrowed as he heard the explanation. A fear of sound and loud noise? That certainly made sense. He could see why the parties might send the young student into a panic. A very valid reason for them to be so nervous. The parties that Kalim and company hosted would send anyone into a panic. Ika moved their fingertips to click together, their breathing a little shaky at just the thought of a party.
The timer went off, startling both of them.
Jamil flinched slightly but was quick to recover. However, the sudden sound of a loud buzzer didn't seem to have a positive effect on Ika's nerves. They jumped up as the surprise sound blasted out the timer, and they hugged their knees closely to their body as if the loud sound had physically hurt them. Jamil felt his eyebrows pinch together in frustration as he realized just how bad this student's phobia of noise really was.
He let out a small sigh as he stood up, clearly annoyed with his own lack of mindfulness. At least he hadn't set the timer to go off on purpose or anything. The loud sound just happened to go off at a bad time. He went to check the pans of Kanafa that were bubbling in the oven.
He pulled out the Kanafa and then turned to eye the kid. "Would you like some?" He asked
The kid was still on the floor, hugging their knees as they stared down at the floor, visibly shaken by the sudden blast of noise from the timer. They didn't respond to the question. Instead, they slowly began shaking their head as they stayed in the same position. This kid really was having an episode of some sort. Jamil let out a deep sigh.
"Alright, kiddo." Jamil lowered himself to the ground so they were on the same level.
The young student watched him with a cautious look in their eyes as Jamil lowered himself down to the kid's level. They still looked really nervous, like they were expecting to be ambushed at any second.
He cautiously reached out to gently focus them back to the moment. Careful not to touch their skin in case they were sensitive to touch as well.
It was always difficult to know who would be comfortable with being touched and who wouldn't, but the kid seemed a bit relieved when he was gentle with them. Jamil himself was often tetchy with being touched.
They took a deep breath as Jamil focused them on the present and away from the sudden blast of noise. Their breathing slowed down significantly as they tried to regain their composure.
"Would you like me to walk you back to bed?" Jamil soothed
The young student nodded yes, and a tiny bit of relief washed over their face as they looked into Jamil's eyes. It seemed like they just needed a moment to calm down and be reassured that there was no threat. Jamil stood up from the floor and held his hand out for the student to take. Their fingers hesitantly touched but soon grabbed onto his hand firmly. Jamil began leading them out of the kitchen.
They clung to his hand and stuck to his side on the way to the dorm room hall.
They opened their door and peeked inside, obviously looking for their roommate. The kid’s dorm was empty at the moment. They would have a few hours to themselves before their roommate got home. Jamil guided them inside and waited for them to settle onto their bed. The kid's eyes were on the floor, still looking nervous. Jamil gently pulled the door shut behind him as he watched the young student settle into their bed. He waited for a moment and then turned toward the door.
"ṭayyib, Up, up. Into bed." Jamil sighed as he pushed them to their bed. They reminded him so very much of Najma.
Jamil paused as he realized that the kid actually felt comfortable enough to allow him to tuck them in like a young child. They were trusting him to care for them, in a way that he had never experienced before. He had always been used to people either avoiding him or being wary of him. It felt strange to be genuinely appreciated, it was an unfamiliar feeling. Jamil gently tucked in the young student, tucking their blanket under the bed and pulling it up over their body to keep them warm.
He chuckled as he watched their eyes flutter shut and gently extracted himself from the room.
“Goodnight, Ika.”
He closed the door and headed back to the kitchen.

Valentine's Pizza
Happy February 14th!
Plans with a potential significant other and with friends fell through. Family medical emergency on one end and work emergency/call-in for the other. So I ended up alone on Valentine's Day. No big deal. I'd booked the day off so I decided to treat myself.
I woke up pretty early in the day—around 6AM. I lounged around in bed, reading books, falling back asleep at random, small, intervals and doing whatever for a couple of hours. Around 9AM my stomach was grumbling loudly and aching from being hungry. I'd skipped dinner on the night of the 13th, spending all that time fussing over what to wear on a potential date, having the significant other cancel due to a family emergency, re-scheduling to make plans with some single friends wanting to get together, and changing up my wardrobe for the new activities we had planned. Lots of ironing, lots of mixing and matching of clothing items, trying to figure out what I could pair with what to look cute depending on which outing I was going to and who I was seeing or what activities were on the table. Having skipped dinner and been awake since 6AM, my 9AM my stomach was really empty and really angry.
I opted to order pizza because I'd been craving it and haven't had pizza in any form other than frozen-from-the-grocer in over three or four years. The delivery fee was the same, regardless of what I ordered, so I ordered a lot. The place I was ordering from had some new-to-me items so I ended up with two different medium pizzas and two different Calzone-like things as well as two different soft-drinks. Basically, I took advantage of the “Valentine's” package deal on the site. Not like the pizza chain or the delivery driver are gonna care whether or not it was just me or me and a date. I fully planned to put left-overs away to have a quick breakfast item at the ready for the coming days.
Unfortunately, the idea of testing my capacity did not occur to me until it was too late. I opted to enjoy my food over the course of the day rather than stuff myself. Though I do kind of wish I had pushed myself a little.
The main item I wanted to try was the Calzone-like thing because I'd never had it before and it sounded delicious. The ones I had were good. The dough was thin and there was always 0.5-0.75cm of mozzarella in every bite—so they did not skimp on the cheese...which would have been the most expensive ingredient in the things. Unfortunately, I guess my stomach wasn't really up to the task of breaking down such a dense mass of cheese. The Calzone-like things basically sat heavy in my stomach-organ for 7+ hours. Surprisingly, it didn't give me heartburn or anything...just left a noticeable weight in my stomach-organ that I was made aware of every time I moved. Get up to use the washroom? Whoa...something dense is kinda nudging/bobbing inside of my stomach. I drank lots of water and tea and fluids to avoid heartburn. And the dry, cheesy, and salty combination basically made it easy to actually want to keep my fluid intake up. So the dense mass of cheese, dough, and bits of vegetables basically swam around a lake in my stomach for 7+ hours.
It was only when I was putting away 80% of the pizza that I realized what a missed opportunity it was. Had my mind been on stomach-kink, I could have absolutely crammed a stomach-busting amount of pizza into my gut. I didn't and I haven't, but part of me wonders about all the missed opportunities.

How Innovation Is Reshaping the Food Industry
Tumblr media
Food innovation refers to introducing novel ideas, products, and technologies that change how society produces, processes, packages, distributes, and consumes food. It goes beyond merely creating new recipes or flavors - food innovation encompasses advances in agriculture, food science, sustainability, and packaging. The goal is to enhance efficiency, safety, nutrition, and the overall consumer experience.
The need for food innovation arises from the ever-changing demands of consumers and the pressing challenges faced by the industry. As the global population continues to grow, so does the demand for food. Additionally, sustainability concerns, climate change, and limited resources prompt exploring alternative food growing and production methods. Innovations in food aim to enhance food security, minimize environmental impact, and offer consumers healthier, more diverse options.
Food innovation occurs through a combination of research, collaboration, and creativity. Scientists, entrepreneurs, farmers, and food industry professionals work together to develop new technologies and processes. Research institutions and startups play a crucial role in conducting experiments, testing new concepts, and bringing innovative products to the market.
In recent years, the food industry has witnessed groundbreaking innovations reshaping how people interact with food. The plant-based movement has gained immense traction, with plant-based alternatives for meat, dairy, and seafood becoming mainstream. Companies have developed plant-based burgers, vegan cheeses, and sustainable seafood alternatives using cutting-edge technologies. Beyond plant-based options, innovations have also focused on alternative protein sources, such as insect-based proteins and lab-grown meats, offering sustainable and protein-rich alternatives.
Swedish startup Mycorena is boosting microbial protein production through its fungi-based mycoprotein called Promyc. This ingredient can be used to create meat and tuna alternatives, beverage additives, and dessert ingredients, offering plant-based and sustainable options for consumers.
Finnish startup Onego Bio has developed a product genetically identical to egg whites using fermentation, and without using actual chickens. It uses precision fermentation of a microflora called Trichoderma reesei to produce ovalbumin, the protein found in chicken egg whites. This technology offers a sustainable and animal-friendly alternative for various food applications, including baked goods, desserts, sauces, and dressings.
Companies like New Culture are incorporating animal-free casein into their cheeses through precision fermentation. This breakthrough allows them to produce animal-free mozzarella cheese, offering a delicious and cruelty-free alternative to traditional dairy products.
In addition, consumers increasingly seek transparency in food choices, leading to the clean label movement. Brands are responding by using simple natural ingredients and avoiding artificial additives and preservatives.
Breakthrough innovations in the food industry are revolutionizing how society grows, produces, and consumes food, focusing on sustainability, nutrition, and convenience. One such innovation is plastic-free and smart packaging. Food companies are exploring biodegradable and even edible packaging solutions in response to environmental concerns. Smart packaging using nanotechnology is also gaining popularity, allowing consumers to assess food safety and quality easily.
The Internet of Things (IoT) in agriculture employs sensors and data analytics for optimizing crop conditions, irrigation, and pest control, reducing resource usage. Food waste reduction solutions, such as surplus food redistribution platforms, are being developed to combat the global food waste crisis. Moreover, biotechnology and data science advances enable personalized nutrition, tailoring dietary recommendations to individuals based on their genetic makeup, lifestyle, and health goals. These innovations promise a more sustainable, healthier, and efficient food future.
Food innovation is driving a remarkable transformation in the food industry, responding to the challenges and opportunities of today. From new plant-based products to sustainable agriculture and cutting-edge technologies, the future of food promises to be more diverse, nutritious, and sustainable. As consumers, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders continue to embrace innovation, the food industry's journey toward a more resilient and conscious future is set to continue.

the edge of a blade is familiar, second nature for him to understand its movement. a short glance away and it was like he knew not to cut into his flesh. some might call it being a little too in tune with the instrument but he always knew he was meant to dabble into other things, not just playing with knives. or using them for... violent means. coupled with the comfortable silence of the space around him, nothing but the sound of a humming refrigerator that too expensive for his pockets to handle, danil found himself in her vicinity... again.
it could be the impulse nipping at his heels, guilt gnawing at his ears just to see if his intuition was wrong... he has yet to figure that out. he always found himself back in the very same place he used to call home (he still does-- it hurts to be in denial.) one gentle slice of cheese after the next is spread on a small plate with the entire kitchen island practically swallowing his presence whole. some might call the kitchen luxurious-- he calls it an apartment within a house.
he was not one to shift quickly at the sound of a threat-- or even soft footsteps that echoed throughout the place. in fact, hands focused on gathering the snacks he pulled from the fridge, even bring a cube up to his mouth to chew on. not once did he look up to meet the other's gaze, he didn't have to. he knew who he was dealing with, " there's never any mozzarella lying around, it's so good for you, " the blade in his hand slices through another piece of the sharp cheddar block, " --either you ran out or you're holding it hostage, " as if the more important, obvious question was placed to the back, danil finally brings his attention up to her and tries his best to avoid letting his heart burst out from his chest. beautiful as always, his thoughts persist, " did i wake you... ? " he asked quietly, careful not to add affection to the end of his question even if he knew it was on the very tip of his tongue to say 'my darling'.

is it okay if u name my new kitten here? he's white as elly ^^;; or maybe just name recommendations. he's a silly kitty who chases anyone. no pressure tho sorry this is so random 😭
The honor of bestowing a name upon a cat is not something to be taken lightly. Let's see... I'll give you a couple names to work with and see if any of it sticks! I don't know if I can do as good as Elizabeth the 3rd's name. She is the icon. So is Meowy's, to be honest. Unless you are a Saeyoung MC, in which case Meowy is a good pick!
If he likes to chase everyone around like the falling snow on a mountain range, you could name him Avalanche. If he clings to you like cheese, you could call him Mozzarella. It does not seem like he's the type to avoid people otherwise you could name him Phantom, like a ghost in the night! If you would prefer something with a sky theme, you could go with Cumulus, like the puffy clouds!

Mtmte, but it's what styles of pizza I think different characters would like and it's based on subjective vibes alone.
Whirl would loudly brag about eating pizza with pineapple and pizza with broccoli, and exactly do neither he doesn't like pizza lol. So he's just in the corner making a fuss, not even touching his slice of decoy pizza.
Swerve would honestly like pizza with pineapple and he's willing to tell you why and ykw valid.
Dunno why but i feel like Ultra Magnus/Minimus Ambus would like mushrooms on his. I get that vibe from him.
Ratchet now he'd go for pepperoni but also like his pizza fairly half burnt.
Rodimus is the guy who swears by ranch and hot sauce on pizza. I used to see a lot of people at school do that and it feels like a Roddie thing to do.
Megatron would like broccoli on his pizza but it's the most well kept secret ever, fucker is willing to hide it under the cheese just to avoid the convo.
Brainstorm seems like he's the guy who would absolutely fucking drown his pizza in garlic. Like, personal Riot story but I used to like a little bit of garlic in stuff until I tried the "white pizza" one of the first days of middle school and it was goddamn revolting and I cannot stand garlic to this day. Anyways yes i feel like someone has definitely tried stealing his share of pizza, started gagging and accused him of poisoning the pizza. But nope Brainstorm just seems like a garlic guy.
Drift would like three cheese pizza. He'd make up some reason for why about how the flavors compliment each other but he's talking out of his aft, Drift chanced a frozen pizza once and it worked out very well for him.
Ambulon would like half and half, pepperoni on one side just cheese on the other.
Tailgate enjoys plain cheese pizza, and always gets extra pizza because like damn how does he fit all that in that tiny frame, how high is his metabolism.
Cyclonus is okay with plain cheese or pepperoni, and he secretly takes off all the pepperoni from Tailgate's and gives him Whirl's pizza.
Red Alert will legitimately only eat cheese pizza and he will not eat any that a topping has even been near because no you can't just pick it off it leaves all the weird little oils and bits behind and changes the taste
Rung will deny any preference but if you press him about it he will admit a soft spot for stuffed crust.
Getaway... hmmm he seems like a mayo on the pizza person and yes i have seen people put mayo on pizza it's a thing I swear only happens in schools but hey here's Getaway giving mayo vibes.
Fortress Maximus will go absolutely fucking nuts for pizza with extra cheese, whether it's in the crust or on the pizza hell i feel like he's the guy who'd ask for the cheese that ended up on the sides of the box when it got cut and Max goddamn right for this
Overlord just fucking eats the boxes that people throw into the basement because they're saving them for some cardboard creation but there's never enough for some reason
Atomizer doesn't care what kind of pizza he gets but he's a pizza thief who will beg everyone to give him their slice or take it if you leave it unattended because yes people do that and it's another only in highschool thing
Trailblazer hmmm he seems like a guy who likes cheese pizza with a reasonable sprinkling of garlic and mozzarella
Sunstreaker literally doesn't care but he prefers anchovies on his pizza, sometimes he has to fight to keep his slices away from Bob because that's my pizza damn it Bob shoo.
First aid also seems like a pepperoni guy but cringes at all the pizza war crimes he sees the others commit so he sneaks into his quarters to eat his.
Whirl's scraplet daughter will eat literally anything you give her so sometimes you've gotta forfeit your slice to her or forfeit your leg
Perceptor will eat barbecue sauce pizza and while he can probably explain it I'm willing to bully him for his choice instead
Ten would be a pizza dough bot and everyone worries about him getting salmonella but don't worry he won't because the power of friendship
Have you ever heard of buffalo chicken pizza? I wish I hadn't so I'm inflicting the love of it onto the entirety of the DJD because they love to see their victims cry as they realize they're gonna be forcefed the edible warcrime

DISCLAIMER: THIS IS A KINK FIC. DO NOT INTERACT IF YOU ARE UNDER 18.
Steve has a big dinner, then gets treated to dessert.
Steve had been excited and a little nervous to hear that a popular food truck that usually stuck around the neighboring counties was coming to town. He’d heard the truck sold Korean corn dogs, and he was interested in seeing how they tasted. It was going to set up near where B.igtop B.urger had its last stop of the day. Luckily, it would only begin its hours after Steve’s truck closed. This also meant he could get some of their food for dinner!
The woman who took his order looked like she didn’t know what to make of him, but that was okay- he was used to it. She was still polite, and brightened when her coworker recognized him as “the B.igtop B.urger guy”. After that, she didn’t seem as cautious over him, and even told him she thought the clown makeup was cool. In Steve’s case, of course, it wasn’t makeup, but he was happy to hear it anyway. He tipped generously and went to enjoy his meal.
He’d ordered a “half-and-half dog”, which was mozzarella on top and hot dog on the bottom. The price had been worth it, as the corn dog was huge. It had been battered, coated in crumbly panko, fried, then sprinkled with sugar and drizzled with ketchup and mustard. It almost looked too good to eat, but the smell was too good to resist. He bit into the top and his eyes went wide. The combination of the sweet, salty, and savory mixed wonderfully with the initial crunch of the fried shell and the soft texture of the cheese underneath. It was scrumptious!!! Unfortunately, it was also very hot.
Having narrowly avoided burning his mouth, Steve decided to let it cool for a minute and start on his fries. They were crisp and salty, slightly above average but not outshining the main course. Once he was through with half, he went back to the corn dog. It had cooled enough so he could eat it, but the mozzarella was still nice and warm. It was so good, he was almost disappointed when he reached the half with the hot dog. Fortunately, that was also delicious, especially in combination with the rest of it. Though it was still salty and savory, the new taste was just what he needed. He closed his eyes as he ate. These were definitely people who respected the art of the food truck.
By the time he’d finished his meal, the streetlight by the truck had turned on. Steve patted his stomach happily. It had been a great dinner, and quite filling as well. He was ready to go back to his own truck and relax.
A familiar-looking shadow loomed over him. Steve didn’t look up, pretending not to notice.
“Well, look who it is. You scoping out the competition, Steve?” A wiry figure climbed over the back of the bench he was sitting on. He proceeded to lean in so close to Steve’s face, his nose was practically touching his cheek. Without even turning to face him, Steve could hear the grin in his voice. “You- you trying to make me jealous?”
“Hello, C.esare,” Steve said, still not looking at him. Though technically the eccentric zombie was still his arch-rival, the coldness was really just for show. It was a game they played, and he could tell C.esare was loving it.
“You’re wasting your time, Stevey baby. Nobody can make bad food the way Zomburger can.” Somehow, this was a legitimate point of pride for C.esare. It was strange, but Steve had gotten used to it. “Face it- we’ll be locked in battle until the end of time, you lightly peppered tomato slice.”
“Is that what they’re calling it these days?” Steve said. He actually allowed himself a smile after that one. C.esare could fluster him easily, and it was a rare occasion he had a good comeback.
C.esare laughed. “Why don’t you let me take you out for dessert?”
Steve was already pretty full from dinner, but dessert sounded nice, and so did more time with C.esare. “All right.”
C.esare grabbed his hand, and before Steve knew it they were at a small, fancy-looking restaurant. It was possibly too fancy. Steve was sure his hands were sweating.
“I… think I’m underdressed,” he muttered, looking down at his puffer jacket and faded black jeans.
“Come on, Steve, you look great in anything,” C.esare said. “Besides, we both look weird, so nobody’s going to worry about what you’re wearing.” The implication was that people were still going to judge them, but Steve still felt a bit better.
“… think they’ll let me keep my coat on?”
“Of course!”
The restaurant wasn’t actually as intimidating as it had seemed on the outside. They did get some funny looks, but the waiter didn’t miss a beat when taking their order. Since the restaurant was fairly busy, it would be a bit of a wait, but they had some wine to start out with.
“You’re sure you don’t mind paying?” Steve asked.
“I hit you into the underground with a giant hammer, Steve. The least I can do is treat you occasionally,” C.esare said. “If you’re really that worried about it, give me a couple bites of your dessert and we’ll call it square. Cin cin.” He raised his glass.
“All right. Cheers, then!” And they clinked their glasses together.
The desserts arrived. Steve had ordered a crème brûlée, and C.esare had chosen a flourless chocolate cake, which judging from the look on his face was larger than he’d expected.
“Steve,” he whispered loudly. “You’re gonna help me finish this, right?”
“We’ll see,” said Steve, using his spoon to crack the caramelized sugar on top of his dessert. He had a very vague memory of a dish similar to this at some sort of banquet, millions of years ago… but that was in the past. The taste of it had been long since forgotten, and this new variation was in front of him now, so he would live in the moment. He scooped up a bit of the custard. Once it reached his mouth, the crunch of the top layer plus the soft, creamy vanilla part underneath made him immediately want more of the sweet dessert.
Meanwhile, C.esare had cut his cake in half and eaten a bit of one of the pieces. With an encouraging nod from Steve, he took a bit of the crème brûlée too. Judging by his pleased reaction, and his eagerness to take another spoonful after he finished the first, he liked it as much as Steve did. He left it alone to work on the cake after that, so Steve had the rest all to himself. It was a fair-sized dessert. It was also very easy to eat. Before he knew it, the dish was empty. His stomach, on the other hand, was not. He was stuffed to the point where he could feel the button on his pants digging into his waist a bit. He looked to C.esare to see if he was ready to go.
Half of the cake sat uneaten in front of him. Steve’s face set with the grim determination of a clown on a mission.
C.esare didn’t bother holding back a laugh. “You look so serious,” he said, picking up Steve’s dish and setting it aside. “Sure you’re up for a bit more?”
The innocent question was a challenge, and Steve knew it. He nodded, taking the slice.
The first bite almost made him forget about the uncomfortable tightness of his waistband. The chocolate was a bit less sweet than the vanilla custard, but it was a welcome change. Since it was a flourless cake, it had a consistency closer to fudge that was satisfying to cut and bite through. It was so good, he could hardly wait to take another bite. The second he did, his belly grumbled in protest. He suddenly felt aware of exactly how much he’d eaten- but he wasn’t about to give up when he was so close. He ignored his stomach’s complaining and kept going.
As he got nearer to finishing, something troubling occurred to him. What if the button on his jeans couldn’t take the strain? He was reasonably sure it would hold, but the thought made him pause briefly. There were just a couple bites left, though, so he would see it through to the end.
When he had swallowed the last one, he leaned back in his chair and let out a deep sigh. He felt huge and heavy, his tummy packed full to the brim. C.esare covered the bill, as promised, then turned to him.
“Wanna get out of here?”
“Yes, please.”
It had cooled down considerably outside. Steve stretched and his t-shirt rode up his belly. The slight breeze made his exposed skin a little chilly. He caught C.esare blatantly staring and smiled in spite of himself.
“Enjoying yourself, I see,” he teased.
“It’s a nice view,” replied C.esare, sticking his tongue out at him. “I can’t help that I have amazing taste in men.”
Steve laughed and took C.esare’s hand. They made their way to his food truck- usually, they’d go to C.esare’s place, but Steve didn’t want to risk getting nauseous from walking down the ridiculous amount of stairs that led there.
The truck wasn’t a home in a traditional sense, but they could be alone together in the back. That was what mattered. Steve had a deflated air mattress that he hardly ever used tucked away under the driver’s seat, along with a blanket. C.esare voiced his concerns about how long it would take to get it to proper mattress size, but he didn’t have to worry. Steve unbuttoned his jeans to give his stomach some room, which required him to suck in his gut a bit. He had a bit of trouble doing so, due to it having less give to it than usual, but he managed. Then he took a huge breath and blew. He did this several times to fill the mattress, which took considerably less time than it would have for someone with normal lung capacity. Clowns like him excelled at that sort of thing. Even so, he was a bit winded. He sat down, and C.esare joined him.
“You are such a freak,” he said affectionately, patting his cheek. “I don’t know how you do half the dumbass cartoon hijinks you pull.”
“Hm. I wonder why you’re always showing up wherever I go, then?”
He grinned. “I never said I didn’t like ‘em. But I’m warning you, that stays strictly between us.”
“Whatever you say.” Steve pressed his nose against C.esare’s, and it made a soft honking noise. Their stomachs brushed against each other as he did. C.esare took this as his cue to put his hands against it, which Steve didn’t mind in the slightest. Despite C.esare’s brash and audacious personality, he could be quite gentle. When Steve had brought it up before, he’d mumbled something about being used to working with his hands, a little color rising in his cheeks. Now, as he lifted Steve’s shirt and rubbed the marks where his waistband had pressed into his skin, Steve closed his eyes blissfully. He could already feel the slight soreness beginning to subside. A soft, content sigh escaped his lips.
“You’re so full, baby,” C.esare said, just barely above a whisper. He stroked his fat, hairy belly, which was almost taut from everything he’d just eaten. Now that it wasn’t constrained, the sheer size of it was clear- the meal plus two desserts had been a lot even by his own standards. He silently enjoyed the attention, loving how cool C.esare’s fingers felt against his warm skin.
His stomach was less quiet. Steve wasn’t quite sure if C.esare could hear it grumbling the way he could. When he burped suddenly, though, that was definitely audible.
“‘Scuse me,” he mumbled, a bit embarrassed. C.esare smirked at him, though not unkindly- it was the sort of expression he got when he was plotting something. The next thing Steve knew, C.esare was pressing kisses into his neck, his hand underneath his shirt just below his chest.
“Pretty boy clown,” he said between kisses. “You big silly goofy bastard. Who let you be this delicious?” Steve could only manage giggles in response. C.esare’s long eyelashes were brushing against his chin, and they tickled.
“If I didn’t know better,” Steve said as C.esare continued to run his fingers over his tummy, “I’d say you didn’t finish your dessert just so you could have an excuse to do this.”
C.esare considered this. “I mean, it’s a perk, sure. But if I did eat it all, you would’ve had to carry me back here…”
Steve gave his rival’s slim stomach a little pat. “I’m teasing. You’ve got a good appetite, considering you’re dead.”
“Undead,” C.esare corrected him, draping an arm around his shoulders. “Speaking of appetites, though, would yyyyyou maybe be up for doing this again soon? Say, next week?”
It was less rare than usual for C.esare to ask him to spend time together. When they’d started seeing each other outside of work, he’d just show up and they’d go from there, but lately they had gotten close enough to ask each other out. Even so, C.esare saying outright he wanted to still felt special, even a little vulnerable. Steve kissed him on the cheek.
“That sounds wonderful.”

the foxes as dominos orders (and why):
neil: ham & pineapple
- he just seems like he would enjoy it tbh i can’t explain why
andrew: pepperoni passion
- he’s not “plain cheese” basic but likes the simplicity of the pepperoni (he also bullies neil for liking pineapple on pizza)
kevin: original cheese & tomato
- the og basic bitch.
aaron: meateor
- loves the meat pizzas and always goes half and half when he orders with katelyn
nicky: loaded wedges - njuda spicy sausage
- he fucking loves them and i can’t explain why. he also loves spice so he would definitely choose the spicy sausage ones
dan: garlic pizza bread
- some of these are really hard to explain but she would scran the garlic pizza bread
matt: new yorker
- what he ordered as a kid in nyc so it’s nostalgic for him
allison: gluten free vegi supreme
- has celiac disease so doesn’t eat gluten. she isn’t vegetarian but does avoid eating meat when eating out so chooses vegi
renee: twisted dough balls - cheese
- she is vegetarian but would hate to eat basic ass food bc of it
seth: wings combo
- loves the wings but wants more so likes having the wedges with it
bonus:
riko: this man goes to fucking pizza express bc he thinks he’s too good for dominos and then ends up getting the plain mozzarella anyway

" so, remember last week, when i had the flu and i couldn't leave my house? turns out it wasn't the flu. i'm pregnant. "
In the comfort of his quarters, within the Imperial Palace of Coruscant, Cal was busy prepping lunch for the two of them. Thankfully, it was a slow day; Lord Vader was silent on comms and the rest of the Inquisitorious were doing the missions that didn't warrant his presence. There was a cutting board on the counter with a sharpened knife—one he prepared with whetstone early in the week—by it's side. Garlic skin was disposed of in a small container. On the electric stove was a heated pot filled with olive oil and the chopped garlic. The beginning of making his favorite dish, Gnocchi alla Sorrentina.
As she spoke for the first few words, Cal listened attentively while he moved to the cutting board. Picked up the knife and started to chop mozzarella cheese into cubes. However he nearly cut his finger when she said the words, 'I'm pregnant.'
He stood still for a bit. Stared long and hard at the cheese. There were a multitude of things that ran through his mind: I'm twenty eight. I feel too young to be a father. This feels too soon. His eyes narrowed and he tilted his head slightly, one fiery red strand at the front of his undercut flopped in the direction he leaned his head. Is she serious? The Grand Inquisitor looked up at her until he couldn't. His eyes flick down to the knife. What would Lord Vader think?
Anxiety built up and he felt like his chest was being crushed. His hands started to tremble. "Um... Is this what you want...?" The Grand Inquisitor, one of Vader's Sith Apprentices, quietly asked. Still avoiding eye contact.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲
Tumblr media
𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: The second Sunday almost resulted in a fire.
𝐏𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠: Eddie Munson x reader
𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭: 1k
𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭: Make out sesh but nothing too crazy (reader motions to unbuckle Eddie’s belt but that’s it), reader lays on Eddie, petnames (baby, babydoll, doll, and sweetheart), Eddie puts his hands in reader’s hair, no use of y/n, no use female pronouns, no physical descriptions, few swear words, mention of a kitchen fire, let me know if I missed anything!
𝐓𝐲𝐩𝐞: multi-part fic (wip)
𝐌 𝐚 𝐬 𝐭 𝐞 𝐫 𝐥 𝐢 𝐬 𝐭
Although last Sunday was spent lounging around Eddie’s trailer, just enjoying time with each other, this Sunday has been in the planning for days and requires a few items.
“Okay so it says we need chicken breast, eggs, bread crumbs, ham, mozzarella, and… string?” Eddie lists off ingredients from the page of a book that has definitely seen better days.
You lean over his shoulders to reread the instruction page, confirming the recipe did, in fact, call for a small spool of cook-safe string. “Where did you get this cookbook anyways?”
“Wheeler took it from his mom’s ‘extensive collection.’ Of course Karen has the whole Better Home Cookbook collection.”
“You call her ‘Karen,’” you look up amused.
“Well not to her face. Uncle Wayne raised me with a little bit of manners.”
“Hmm that he did. We need to head to the store soon because the Dr. Pepper and pickles in your fridge aren’t enough to make dinner.”
“I’ll have you know I’ve had that for dinner plenty of times.” He passes you a pen and random envelope that currently holds the shopping list. “Here, finish writing down the ingredients and I’ll grab the keys.”
After copying all the recipe calls for, you grab your wallet and head to the van. Eddie comes bouncing down the stairs in front of the trailer, wearing his usual denim and leather combo with a Black Sabbath shirt underneath, “ready, Eds?”
“Ready to make the best meal of our lives? Hell yeah baby!”
After a very extensive shopping trip and help from an old lady claiming y’all looked, “lost as sheep,” trying to pick a package of raw chicken.
“Okay so after we stuff the pieces with ham and cheese, we tie them back together with
the string… okay that makes way more sense now.”
“Yeah, for you! I still have no idea what I’m doing.” he lets out an exasperated sigh, setting down the last piece of chicken and leaning his weight on you, who is conveniently positioned right next to him.
“Tired already?”
“I just wan’ lay down with my girl.” He smushes his face more into your arm but avoids touching you with his chicken juice hands.
“Well we can lay down while this cooks for…” You scan the page, looking for the estimated cook time, “25 minutes.”
“Fine.” You form a mini assemble line to finish the instructions listed in the cookbook, with you stuffing the ham and mozzarella in the opening of each chicken piece, and Eddie tying it shut, and breading it with the eggs and breadcrumbs. 15 minutes and six perfectly stuffed chicken cordon bleus later, the pan is placed in the preheated oven and a timer is set for the required time.
“Already now we can go sit.”
Eddie dramatically spralls himself on the couch, “finally… shopping is tiring, you know?”
“Yeah baby, I was there.” You go to sit on the open cushion by the side table, but you’re pulled on top of your boyfriend before you even make it to the edge of the couch.
You’re positioned chest to chest with him, moving the hair out of your face to make contact with his dark eyes.
“Hi baby,” he comments with a cheesy grin. He leans in to kiss you before you can respond to his greeting. You should’ve known “laying down” would last for 5 seconds and turn into a make out sesh, which is exactly what happened.
His hands caress your face, feeling the contrast of his warm hands and cold rings. His tongue slips into your mouth with ease, and feels around a place he knows all too well. You each share small grunts and moans, encouraging the other to keep going. You smirk into the wet kiss, knowing your next move might just floor the man under you.
Detaching your lips from his warm and puffy ones, you trace the side of his neck with your mouth, licking and sucking to the spot between the base of his neck and shoulder. “Oh my– doll I–,” each incomplete sentence ends in a pleasing whine.
He moves his hands into your hair, holding you to the place you know he loves, leaving little love bites along his collar bone, and letting your hands trail down his shirt to the black belt decorated with chains. Just when your fingers work to open the matte silver buckle, the startling beeping of a fire alarm breaks the sounds of Eddie's low moans. “Oh my god the chicken!” You jump up from the couch and run to the smoke-filled kitchen.
Eddie is still recovering from your blissful touches being so rudely interrupted to move as quickly as you did, “you’ve got to be shitting me.” He walks into the kitchen just in time to see the not-so-golden chicken being pulled from the oven.
“Dammit, dammit, dammit.” You slam the pan on the stove and throw the pot holders on the counter, turning towards your boyfriend who is desperately trying to hold in his laughter.
“It’s not that bad, it’s just a little…crispy,” he pulls you into his side, trying to lessen the blow of your extremely burnt meal.
“Maybe if you would have kept your hands to yourself, we would have heard the timer.”
“Hey! You’re the one that went down on me, little miss innocent.” Although you were upset y'all's hard work kinda went to crap, the metalhead next to you always knew how to cheer you up.
“Alright I guess that’s fair. But what’re we going to eat now?”
“Excuse me,” he looks at you like he just saw a ghost. “You think I’m not going to eat the meal we spent time preparing and making together?” He moves to the cabinet to grab a plate, turning to you with a raised brow, silently asking if he should grab two. With a nod of your head, you grab some tongs and dish up two pieces of the slightly overcooked chicken breasts.
Eddie is the first one to take a bite once y’all got settled at the two-person dining table. “Dig in sweetheart, we put our time and effort into this beauty,” holding up a chunk of meat on his fork before shoving it into his open mouth.
Although this Sunday almost resulted in a small catastrophe, you’re always looking forward to what next weekend holds with the person that always feels like home.
𝐀/𝐍: okay so first off, I am so sorry this part took five-ever for me to publish. My classes started this week and work has been crazy, so my bad. I definitely meant to finish writing this by the 5th but hopefully the next part will (maybe) be out in a timely manner. This is my first series (and second fanfic) so I’m still getting used to setting a schedule and whatnot. But let me know if you want to be on my tag list and I’ll add you. Also please reblog and comment, I absolutely love hearing y’alls feedback <3 - J

the consequences im going to suffer from my meals today are going to be exceedingly dire:
breakfast: blueberry cheesecake donut
lunch: boba and 1 vegan bao bun
snack: 4 pieces of terrys chocolate orange minis
dinner: whole container of spinach tortellini with expired mozzarella. i put some of the cheese on it then thought "this smells off" and checked the package. it said "consume within 7 days" (i opened it 3 weeks ago) but i think the date was on the top which i ripped off (bad packaging design). i then shook the rest of it onto the pasta. i kinda avoided most of it while eating but i still feel ill. possibly also bc i ate the whole package of tortellini. i thought ah it's just slightly more than the serving size! i'll be fine! but last time i ate this it was 2 dinners not one.

Frank, I must ask, what's your opinion on adding shredded mozzarella cheese to frosted wheat cereal? (Without milk in the bowl)
No right or wrong answer, of course, simply settling an "argument"!
I'm not familiar with this food, but if it's like some other foods I've had the opportunity to enjoy (cranberry and lemon soda), it may be good but may be best to avoid it.

a gentle mercy of the low fodmap diet is that lactose is only high in cheeses that i don’t give a fuck about. I’m too busy eating cheddar brie and mozzarella to think about avoiding ricotta rn !

Wellness Wednesday:
Back To Reality
I will admit that it felt uneasy taking a week long Thanksgiving vacation from work, but once I got in the thick of lounging around I didn't give work a second thought.
What did I do?
Not much - and it was spectacular!
I only left my hideaway twice - once for snacks and once for entertainment - the rest of the week was jam packed with lounging and gaming (VR and Boardgames).
I ended up leaving my vacation dreading going back to work and slightly addicted to VR gaming.
Oh! And one other note - one side effect from losing weight that I discovered - apparently I lost all the good cushioning in my butt and now I can't handle sitting in a car longer than 2 hours. My rear end was killing me - absolute worst part of the vacation - and to be honest there could have been worse things.

Closing Thoughts:
The Good:
I had a nice relaxing week away from work.
Caught up on some reading and actually finished two books on top of a stack of comics.
The Bad:
Neglected some chores during my time off and now I have some cleaning/tidying up to do.
The Ugly:
Although my week was relaxing - my sleep schedule was definitely thrown for a tailspin. Been lowkey exhausted all week and have been haphazardly falling asleep randomly in the middle of the day.
