#carver would be annoyed and all 'i don't need your help >:[' but that's not gonna stop ed from turning on Big Brother Mode
I said I wasn't going to get started on the topic of Aveline ruining Carver's chances with the guard but I lied okay, it's Carver Hawke defense hours.
Here's the thing; it doesn't matter if you believe Carver was or wasn't fit for the guard. That's a different debate that I'll get to. What matters is Aveline's in no position to tell the guard not to accept his application. Why does she think that's her right to judge whether or not he's fit?
Carver should've had the chance to prove himself one way or another. If it turns out he's not a good fit, then let him fail. Let him learn from it.
"Oh but failure could mean lost lives-"
Aveline doesn't get to talk shit about failure and the people. Plenty have died on her watch yet she still believes she's a good guard and Guard-Captain.
"maybe Aveline's protecting him, Carver could die while on patrol-"
Carver could die working in the Bone Pit, or serving as a templar, or when he's running around with Hawke. Carver could trip and fall down a set of stairs and die. In fact, he can die in the Deep Roads, somewhere he wouldn't have to go if the Hawke's weren't desperate.
Either Carver fails as a guard, or more likely, he succeeds and proves himself worthy of it.
But let's be real, Carver probably kept getting rejected due to being a Fereldan with a past of smuggling/mercenary work and Aveline only reaffirmed the decision, either because they asked her what she thought or she stuck her nose in unprompted.
But what irritates me is that she admits to telling them not to accept his application, and then has the balls to call Carver too proud to take up a trade or find another line of work.
Carver tells her, "And who would take on a Fereldan apprentice? Maybe in another year I could work my way up to pissboy." He has a good point here. Aside from the guard, the only other place Carver could work and use his skillset is with the Templars. Or go back to mercenary/smuggling work.
And Aveline doesn't even have a real answer for him. No suggestions, no encouragement, nothing. Just "Fine, let's crawl down some holes. Good bloody luck for your sake."
Also, if you do the Mark of the Assassin DLC in Act 1-
Aveline: You should see if any of the noblemen are looking for new men-at-arms. Carver: Are you trying to get rid of me? Aveline: It's a role with some autonomy. A good fit with your training and... tendencies. Carver: After serving King Cailan? You want me to suffer some poncy git who needs two servants to wipe his own ass? I'll find my own way, thanks. Aveline: I wish you would.
You wish he would?? Aveline, he was trying to find his way into the guard, a position he'd make a good fit for, and you helped deny him of it because YOU didn't think he would be good enough, I just-
If I haven't made it clear yet, I firmly believe that Carver would've made a great guard. He wants to help people, to be a protector. He's loyal, and despite what Aveline claims, he can follow orders and take his duty seriously. We see him do incredibly well with the Grey Wardens, after all. If he were a guard, he wouldn't have to go down into the Deep Roads with Hawke, and I think he would've been okay with that! He's so hurt and bitter when you leave him behind because that effectively tells him, "I don't need you." Carver's spent the whole first act telling you he wants to go on the expedition aka that he wants to be needed.
But if he were a guard, he would be needed elsewhere. He'd be in training as a recruit. He'd look after Leandra while you go. He wouldn't be backed into a corner with no income and only the templars left as his chance at forging his own path and providing for his family.
He doesn't get that opportunity, though.
By the way, if he becomes a warden, you can get this banter:
Aveline: I'm glad you found a place with the Wardens. Carver: Well, it's not the city guard, but it'll do. Aveline: Carver... it wasn't the place for you. Carver: No, it's all right. It is. It cost a lot, but I get it. I really was a bit of a tit those days, wasn't I? Aveline: Well...
This banter makes me want to scream.
Aveline's just... she's so insistent that she's right. She's someone who will double down rather than entertain the idea that she's wrong and it's not just with Carver and the guard, it's with everything. The "my beef with Aveline" list gets longer and longer every time I replay da2, I swear.
Say what you will about Carver, whether you think he would've been a good fit or if Aveline's right and it wasn't for him, he was denied a chance and it cost him so much in the end. He either dies, or he joins the templars where he deals with Chantry's bullshit trying to brainwash him with "mages aren't people" and "magic is a cancer in this world", or he's infected with the blight and becomes a Grey Warden, forced to serve the rest of his life fighting darkspawn, tormented by voices and nightmares.
I will never not be bitter about this.

Oracle!Reader Part 12
Masterlist - Part 1, Part 11, Part 13
Putting this early so y'all got something to read while waiting for Fontaine. Gl on wishing/saving!
Warning! This is SAGAU which is yandere, plus my story is imposter au which makes things even worse. You can expect detailed descriptions of sensitive topics like blood in this chapter.
The water is still as Mountain Shaper relays your claim to the other adepti. The cutting gaze they have is deflected by that calm expression you wear.
"Then before we deal with them, let's wrap up the situation with the children." Ganyu speaks softly as her eyes move past your form with wariness.
Xingqiu and Chongyun relax at the sight of Ganyu. With her around, the punishment from the adepti should be prevented.
"Thank you both for coming to save the children, and I'm sorry we weren't in time to help that poor boy. I'm afraid I'll have to burden you both with the task of bringing them back to the city. This would be quite a big deal, especially for you, Xingqiu, as the son of such a prestigious family."
Xingqiu freezes up at the mention of his family while Ganyu takes out a notepad. She writes something on it and hands it over to him.
"This is a brief report on what happened, your cover up is that I asked you to bring them back home. You and your friend will have to give a report to the Millelith and when I get back, I can finish the report. I can get the needed information from your... teammate."
The skepticism and slight disgust in her voice makes it perfectly clear what she thinks about you. She didn't even want to thank you for participating in saving the children.
Ganyu is an adepti, even if she is half human, and that is why she has some of that signature arrogance. She always did jump to conclusions; like how she attacked that Fatui skirmisher that was berry picking. Her arrogance only makes it harder for her to change her mind until it's nearly too late.
Xingqiu smiles politely but the twitch in his eyebrow as he accepts the note says it all. Chongyun's face visibly sours but he keeps quiet. They both turn to you, silently asking if it's okay for them to leave you here.
Your lips stretch into a cheery smile and you give them a thumbs up. "Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. Just make sure Yiran gets to her father and that the mother of that poor boy gets his body."
They leave with the children clinging to them, the children still have remnants of tears in their eyes. You can only silently command Teyvat to make their journey back to the city as safe as possible.
"One knows not why this interloper is not already decaying at our feet. Surely any being that claims such a frivolous thing deserves to be sacrificed to the glorious Creator."
Rude as always, Cloud Retainer is the first to ignite the hatred for you. In Genshin she was always comedic relief after the Archon quest but it's different with your current position.
"Don't be so quick to see to my death, Cloud Retainer. Surely Mountain Shaper has already told you what secret information I know about you all." You smoothly comment.
"The young herbalist is not impossible to hold information on, it's the scent of Teyvat on you that led me to not kick you off my mountain." Moon Carver interferes calmly. You get the sense that he's the most curious on who you are in contrast to the rest that just want you to die.
"Like I said, I'm an Oracle for the Creator themself. Surely you aren't going to doubt Teyvat in who it chooses to embrace."
"Mimicry is a common tactic among evildoers like yourself. Perhaps you're a demonic spirit from the old war hiding in human flesh. It would suffice as an explanation for the way you used that little girl to buy time for yourself."
Mountain Shaper pushes the agenda of some evil lurking within you. Honestly, it's starting to annoy you but becoming emotional would only fuel them further.
"I only spoke to Yiran so rashly due to your stupid rules. Who focuses on intruders that you clearly saw came for the children instead of the terrified young girl? She was scared from the massacre and felt responsible for that boy's death. That same dead boy’s mother that you proceeded to insult."
"And why should we concern ourselves with the folly of humans?"
"I'm not asking you to. I'm saying that you should at least allow the other humans to help those children, yet you treat adults and children like they have the same mental capacity. Not surprising as adepti couldn't possibly understand the complexity of humanity but it’s still quite disappointing that you cannot even see the logic."
Your words earn you a sharp amber tearing into the skin of your left arm.  A low curse escapes you as you yank the injured arm away from the crimson painted amber. Examining the wound with a grimace, you apply pressure to slow the bleeding. The puncture wound lets your blood stain the clothing and drip off.
It didn't go all the way through but in certain areas your vein and arteries can be seen. Not broken, just exposed and so very painful. Resisting the tears, you dig into your bag with your good hand for the medical kit.
As you clean and wrap up your wound, you can hear the adepti arguing.
"What are you doing you old coot? One was looking to expose their lies, not attack in such a haste. Now that filthy blood is staining my abode."
"Cloud Retainer is correct on this topic. As devoted worshippers of our caliber, having the ability to unravel the demonic lies is true proof of our strength."
It's so funny, you almost want to laugh in their faces. 'Filthy blood'? Your blood is the one that they worship like salvation. 'Demonic lies?' Isn't the Creator's word's law and truth no matter the message?
That haughtiness that leads them to try beating you at your own game will be their downfall. You'll enjoy this new act. After all...
They're only the stepping stones for the showdown between you and the Geo Archon.
With a bandaged arm that sends dull aches and electrifying pain at intervals, you smile and speak in a sweet tone.
"Finished conversing yet? If you're ready to try exposing my nonexistent lie then get rid of this amber cage and let me show you firsthand why I'm the Creator's Oracle."
Your serene smile is met with sharp glares, distrustful eyes and a timid gaze that speaks first.
"And what proof or action will you show us?"
"Well, I have multiple ways, but illuminated beings like yourself will not be satisfied with that. You'll see it as a trick, a prepared prop to convince you all. So instead, why don't you ask me to do something or relay something to the creator? Something that you're positive I can't complete."
Beisht's scale seems to make your bag heavier with the reminder of its existence. But it's not time for it yet. The adepti only see Beisht as an enemy, that gamble isn't one you're willing to risk just yet.
"One would never ask you to pray to the creator and sully their ears with your sinful voice. One has a better idea on what you can do as 'proof'. As much as One hates to let you get closer, it is necessary to enter my abode."
Mountain Shaper seems to grumble as the other adepti force him to release you. Chains made of Geo and Dendro wrap around your wrists and tug you forward.
Were you truly that untrustworthy in their eyes? Four adepti against one human, the outcome is obvious, but you keep a leisurely pace behind them.
Cloud Retainer's domain-like door opens and once you all step inside, the door shuts with a loud bang. It's just like how you remembered it in the game.
An absolute confusing mess.
Ganyu and Cloud Retainer cross the barely hanging rock bridge with ease, Meanwhile Moon Carver and Mountain Shaper throw remarks at her.
"What is the meaning of such a mess? It's in even worse condition than when we visited 300 years ago."
"One's abode is not of your concern. It is normal for one to keep it in the environment that suits one's needs."
Cloud Retainer and Mountain Shaper continue to bicker back and forth as you are led through the turning platforms and transparent golden bridges.
"Maybe if a certain mortal had just accepted death as their punishment, we wouldn't have to be going through this disorganization."
As adepti, they probably could have just flown to the top where Cloud Retainers' main ruins are but as you are clearly human, they had to take the long way. They don't bother to keep that fact quiet but Moon Carver constantly saying that only makes you walk slower in pettiness.
The main ruin finally comes into view and you remember the initial conversation with Cloud Retainer when you had to discuss Morax's fake death. The door behind that never let players in, is now open.
Entering you are greeted with long hallways with inventions in different stages of creation littering it. Texts, and murals of different time periods cover the walls. Morax, Guizong, the Yaksha and even other adepti you don't recognize are there.
A left turn at a three way intersection goes to a large room decorated beautifully with feathers and gemstones alike. The image of you forming an egg that has brown scales and gold accents is the main centerpiece.
This must be how they believe you created Morax. Then does that solve the question on whether the egg or the chicken comes first?
Cloud Retainer stops in the middle of the room and spreads her wings to point at the sides of the room that are inscribed with text.
"Ever since One took residence in this abode, One has never been able to decipher the text, nor has any other being that got One's permission to enter this sacred room been able to decipher it. If you are truly the Oracle then surely you must be able to decode such scriptures."
"Then let's see just what message this scripture contains." Your proud words are all the bravado you need to walk past their eyes and approach the closest words on the left wall.
As you move to walk past Cloud Retainer's form, she brings her wing down to cover your path.
"Death is the only ending for you in One's eyes. If you fail to translate, then you'll die. If you tarnish or destroy it, then you'll die. And if you refuse, then death will claim you before you can even finish your words."
"I understand full and well, Cloud Retainer. My life belongs to the Creator, no matter how difficult or painful."
Her wing cuts through your shackles with ease. Now free, you walk past with that confident posture you've held throughout this meeting. Your hands itch to run over the wall and pray that Teyvat will automatically translate it as it had done for everything else. Yet when you get close enough to make out the words, you smile widely. A sight so beautiful for your poor eyes.
'Elemental creatures of all kinds must continue to worship the maker of all things to maintain their loving and personal connection. Refusing or forgetting to do so is the same as rejecting or not caring for them. Consequences are dire and just like trust, it'll be much harder to restore.'
Your language is written on the wall in clear letters. Your luck seems to have turned around for now. You could do so much with this information.
"I can understand this perfectly. It's the language the Creator uses to communicate on the world they're resting in. The scripture describes elemental worship that is specific to only elemental beings."
You recite the first text with ease as the room goes quiet. Not a laugh, scoff nor grumble is heard in the room. Should you take this as a bad or good thing?
Pushing onward you begin to translate the rest of the text on both sides of the room. It gives a detailed explanation on how to sacrifice body parts, energy, blood, and lifeforce.
"Stop, we have heard enough." Moon Carver cuts in emotionlessly. You look back at them feigning a confused expression. Trouble is clear on their faces, the truth of your words is spreading guilt within them.
Inwardly your lips curve into a smile that seems to soothe the pain in your arm.
They aren't guilty from the approaching truth of your 'oracle' status being real. They're feeling guilt over the worship methods that they had forgotten.
But pompous beings like them will never accept their wrong-doings so easily.
"You speak of words that poison our minds and weigh our hearts with guilt. This may be but a sham that you wish to deceive us with. Us, illuminated beasts will not accept this method until it's been proven in our sights."
With a careless shrug and scoff, you speak to Mountain Shaper with an uncaring attitude. "I would happily do it to myself just to prove my words true, but I'm not an elemental being like you all were so happy to point out. It seems one of you will have to test it out or we'll never get anywhere."
"Or perhaps we can end this farce now and eliminate you from the beloved maker's gaze." His angry reaction has you covering your mouth in surprise.
"You would skip past the proper protocols in the case concerning the Creator? Where is your devotion? Your faith? Or are you just afraid to do so and see the honesty in my words? Maybe it's a mix of both..."
Mountain Shaper takes a clawed step forward that makes the ruins shake. Cloud Retainer blocks his path with her wing.
"One has had enough of this Shaper! Treat the eulogies and artwork of the creator with more respect."
"It is shameful that an illuminated being like yourself is being led by a mortal like that. Are we not the ones who survived this long despite the varying enemies and plots? Calm yourself before you sully the Creator's pride with your uncontrollable wrath."
Mountain Shaper looks pissed as his eyes glare at you with malice. The temptation to flip him off with a shit-eating grin is too strong and he turns away like a toddler at your crude actions.
"I can do the ritual for us to learn the truth on this matter." A timid voice steps in during the brief silence. All eyes turn to Ganyu as she keeps her hands close to her chest.
"All the work I do is for Liyue, Rex Lapis, and most importantly: the Creator. If this method is true then I can learn a more intimate way to worship them. And if not, then I can keep the creator's reputation pure by utterly destroying Y/N."
Her words are soft and gentle but turn dark near the end as she stares at you seriously. The adepti stay quiet seeming to respect her bold actions even if Cloud Retainer seems just a bit ruffled.
"You said that there are many different offerings to give, all with their own reward. Which one would give the best result?"
"The energy sacrifice would be the most convenient and easiest but it doesn't fit you well due to your lethargic nature. Your body is physically strong so a blood offering would be the best choice."
Ganyu's eyes seem to follow your form as you step closer to the section that contains the instructions for the blood offering. She's no doubt trying to figure out how you could know about that without considering the possibility of you being the Oracle true.
You read it out loud so that everyone is on the same page before looking back at them.
"So let's start with the main things. We'll need a clear area outside along with a ceremonial dagger and cup. I'll wait here and write down all the ritual instructions for future use."
In Genshin you always know a NPC is suspicious when they want to 'wait and write' something while you do the actual work. The distrustful looks they all send you feel the same way.
They leave Ganyu to watch over you while they all leave to prepare the ritual. Deciding to leave Ganyu alone, you go back to jotting down the text into your handbook.
It's quiet to the point of it being uncomfortable yet you diligently finish the notes and simply doodle on the free space. Ganyu's eyes never stop running down your body, you ask yourself if she's even blinking.
"Before I came here to visit, I heard of an incident at Liyue Harbor. About two geovishap hatchlings that went feral and caused a mess. The most interesting part was how the 'winner' displayed its trophy to a masked stranger."
Ah, Ganyu... 3,000 years old and counting half-qilin adeptus with a whole war as experience. Did you ever forget her knowledge? No, you just simply underestimated her resilience to erosion.
"Is there something you want to ask me about that incident? If so, just spit it out. Communication is important, a secretary like yourself should know that much."
"I have no doubt that you are the person in the incident. I'm conflicted over how you came to your... position. Someone tricking the people is normal and still saddening. But someone trying to trick the adepti? Foolish and stupid. I will stop you either way but just know that I will not stand for your evil actions."
A laugh slips past your lips as your gaze falls onto her firm stance. Gentle and quiet are the words to describe qilin yet the conflict avoiding nature seemed to have skipped Ganyu's genes.
"Then I hope you repent properly to the creator for refusing to believe their loyal servant for speaking the truth." You move to stand in front of her and stare deeply into her eyes with mirth. "It seems the adepti have already returned. Why don't we get going?"
Not a moment later, Cloud Retainer's voice rings out, calling for you both to come outside. Smiling cheerfully, you follow Ganyu out of Cloud Retainer's home.
The moon's glow tenderly caresses your skin and bandaged arm as the water laps at your legs. The adepti stand on the small patch of land as you and Ganyu trudge across the water. On the table is a clean dagger with intricate gold patterns and a gold chalice decorated with Noctilucous Jade.
Dagger and chalice in hand, you survey the area with a critical eye. Smiling, you point at an area of water.
"The water here is clean and clear so it fits the bill in what the ritual needs. Follow me Ganyu." Not bothering to look back you walk deeper into the water, even still the water only reaches above your knees.
"Words are not needed, only actions. Kneel and choose a place for me to cut you. Your blood has to fill the chalice to the brim."
She goes along with your words and kneels, letting the liquid soak her clothes without complaint. Grabbing ahold of her beautiful white sleeve, she pulls it off, exposing her arm.
"Cut my arm in a long shallow slit so it can be filled quickly without too much damage."
"Alright, let me go over the steps once more as your time is limited once it's filled." With practiced ease, you cut her arm and watch her blood flow into the chalice. Not even a peep escapes her from the pain.
"You'll hold the chalice with both hands raising it into the air to signify that you are offering. Keep your eyes closed and pray for what you wish to communicate to the creator. In this case, you want to pray for the creator to accept your blood offering as the first step to forgiveness. After that you'll just need to follow my lead."
Ganyu nods solemnly and you move the now filled chalice to her hands carefully to avoid spilling it. Her eyelids flutter shut as her hands hold the chalice high in the air. The air seems to still as her lips move to mouth a silent prayer.
The blood that drips down her arm and into the water seems hypnotizing. To think you’d really hurt someone to hide your lie. It's different then the case with Beisht; you hurt Beisht to prove your identity. What you have done to Ganyu is a line you may have to cross again in the future. What if you eventually kill someone to hide your lie? The thought seems ludicrous to you now but so did hurting someone before this moment...
Your thoughts seem to still when the blood dripping from her wound changes in color. No, not just color but in texture too. Those wine red drops shift to a mix of pink and blue. It solidifies into a small glittering object that clinks softly as it hits the water.
It flashes for a moment before dissolving into water like it never existed. Was that truly what a primogem looked like in real life?
An indescribable feeling swells up in your chest, soft whispers lead your body closer to Ganyu without a fight. Shakily your hands cover hers as that intangible feeling urges you to speak.
'I accept your offering' is nearly spoken but even in this haze of dopamine and serotonin, your self control is firm.
"The Creator accepts your offering." Your words are shaky with unknown emotions. Is this Ganyu's feelings towards you as the creator? It's gentle and rests on your soul like a weighted blanket feebly trying to pull you into a deep sleep.
Reminding yourself of the ritual at hand, you begin to tilt the chalice toward the ground. The scripture never specified what would happen but the sight you receive is beyond what you could expect.
What pours out of the chalice is not scarlet liquid, but thousands of primogems that clink and clank as it hits the water. Just like earlier, it dissolves leaving bubbles that cloud the starry sky that was reflected on the surface.
When the last primogem hits the water, you release Ganyu's hands and step back. You look up at the night sky that begins to glow with color as your voice cuts through the tense silence.
"Open your eyes Ganyu, it's time to see your wish revitalized. The Creator accepted your offering after all."
Coral and lavender eyes open slowly and go wide at the sight of the sky. The chalice is gripped in tightly on her lap as the night blooms with blue and purple wishes.
A single gold star begins to travel through the air at high speeds. Noticing its course you step farther away from Ganyu as she stays kneeling in amazement at the sight.
Before anyone can speak, the gold shooting star hits Ganyu and engulfs her spot with a beam of light. It's harsh on your eyes but the game screen that automatically opens in front of you soothes it.
Ganyu's splash art is the only thing you see before you click it off with a triumphant smile. Skipping through all the other wishes and four star constellations, the game screen and gold light disappear at the same time.
A shocked and confused Ganyu could be expected. A quietly happy and thankful Ganyu was expected. But the half qilin adeptus silently bawling her eyes out as she stays kneeling in the water was what greeted you instead.
The other adepti don't hesitate to move to your area with inhuman speed from where they were watching. You expected Mountain Shaper to be the first one to attack you as Moon Carver stands protectively in front of Ganyu but it seems the adepti didn't like to respond logically.
Sharp talons wrapped around your neck as the weight of the crane pushes you back onto the water. The unexpected submersion has you coughing uncontrollably underwater as your body seems to be weighed down by something invisible.
Fingers dig into your throat as blurry yells make your heart pound with panic.
"It's all your fault!"
"None of this would have happened if you didn't exist!"
"Should have just let me do what I want with you, you pathetic fuck!"
Sickle in hand your attacks are choppy as the electro sputters in and out of existence. The fingers turn into a bruising, clawed grip once more as your free hand grabs a fistful of feathers.
The crane is pulled away and by extension you're pulled out of the water too. The water droplets make your vision blur as you try to calm your hyperventilation into something less vulnerable.
Cloud Retainer is held back by all three adepti as she squawks with indignation. The ringing in your ears prevents you from hearing anything more than, "One has not seen Ganyu cry in such a way since she was a child!"
Ganyu seems more than embarrassed as she repeatedly tells Cloud Retainer something you can't be bothered to make out. Your nails dig into the blood and feathers in your hand as you stare at the missing patch of feathers on Cloud Retainers body.
You're cold, wet, hungry, and so very tired but that bald patch you left on the noisy crane makes you feel happy in a vengeful way. If you weren't still reeling from the near death experience you would have loved to comment on her new preen.
The situation seems to calm down as Ganyu and the rest explain something thoroughly to Cloud Retainer. It's obvious that she had gone on a rampage due to Ganyu's reaction without bothering to view the situation in full. A rare mistake for someone as meticulous as her.
With care and concern only for the present, you move to the edge of the mountain and stare out across the sky. The view of Liyue is muddled yet enhanced by the starry sky. The grass under your shoes is welcome in comparison to the pond that nearly swallowed you whole.
Your fingers mindlessly pick at the healing scabs and bruises from the treasure hoarder fiasco. The grimace on your face is not from the pain of the jostled arm but the uncomfortable feeling of wet bandages. Carefully, your fingers trace the new talon marks on your neck that you gained from Cloud Retainer. Should you get hurt by Moon Carver too, to collect wounds from all three?
The grass crunches behind you and you already know what is about to happen. Your eyebrows pinch in worry and your gaze rarely leaves the floor as the adepti stand face to face with them.
"I'm so sorry for my reaction earlier. I was so surprised and overjoyed that the sacrifice convinced the Creator to awaken me that I reacted in such a shameful way. It's due to my failure to keep my emotions in check that you got hurt. Please forgive me."
Your mind is blank but your body is well versed in what to do, what lies to say. Softening eyes are steady with Ganyu's as your fingers gingerly touch the claw marks.
"I understand Ganyu, the creator's grace is an amazing thing. Be sure to serve them properly from now on." With a near patronizing tone you speak to the adepti as a whole.
"Don't you see what damage you had done to me? The creator is love, peace, justice and truth. I hope you don't think they'll let Cloud Retainer and Mountain Shaper off easy for harming me who has taken on such a heavy and dangerous burden."
Facades are only good if you know how to upkeep and keep track of them. If you act like some soft pushover now, they'll be suspicious. You slide into the control seat of the spider web of lies you've created as easily as breathing.
Rest? Mental breakdowns? Dissociative states? Hallucinations from past traumatic experiences? All of those things must be pushed into the crevice in your mind. The same crevice that seems to grow deeper and darker with each passing year since your birth. Those thoughts can consume you when you're safe, if that day ever comes.
They react exactly as you expected; haughty but thoroughly humbled with seeds of self doubt planted in their hearts. Breaking even a fraction of their pride in their fake-ass devotion brings a longing for them to crumble even more.
You go along with conversation while conserving as much energy as possible. Ganyu was the only one with enough sensibility to apologize to you so why should you care about the rest of them? If they had Ganyu carry and apologize in their stead then they should be just as fine with you only giving her actual attention.
Pointing out this fact seemed to stun them into a tense silence. Your body naturally goes on edge expecting some sort of attack but nothing comes. Instead they present you with a few apologies without using words.
"As a faithful servant of the Creator, you are welcomed anytime in Jueyun Karst, as well as any other areas that would be deemed off-limits within our authority."
"Why not stay in One's home for the night after the enlightening events that have occurred today? One is not a careless host and will be sure to provide all that you need during your stay."
It honestly wasn't a bad idea, your mind and body were not fit for teleporting to Liyue and setting up camp. You accepted the offer despite knowing that the sleep you will get will not be fulfilling.
The conversations they hold as you are fed and tended to flow in one ear and out the other. The most notable information you picked up was how they wanted to try the method themself and even spread it to Xiao in hopes of the creator lessening his karmic debt.
It's Ganyu that accompanies you to a guest room that Cloud Retainer somehow managed to not make messy. The other adepti seem to think that you like her in some way when little to their knowledge, you're simply fond of her.
Not in the way that you want to be near or interact with her. She apologized for being part of the reason you were attacked. She still hasn't apologized for all her previous rude actions. You liked her the same way as you did on Earth. Only as a character.
A voice whispers that it's better than how you refuse to associate with Ei in any way.
You lay down on a clean mattress in the comforting silence of the night. You're dry, warm, full, and comfortable yet still as on edge as before. The eyebags you wear are not from random all-nighters but from the never-ending cycle of lying for a living. Both on Earth and on Teyvat.
Sleep doesn't come easy, not with the constant fear of talons holding you down. Nor with the unease of amber cutting through your skin. Rest comes in spurts of deep sleep before hands are choking you again back into the waking world.
Sometimes you wish you could forget who your family was too.
Your internal clock is all sorts of confused as you wake up for the 50th time. Judging by the lack of discomfort in your body, you couldn't have slept more than an hour.
Pale green glows in the corner of your eyes making you speed into sitting position. You catch the faintest glimpse of a horned masked bearing large fangs and glowing teal eyes.
You blink at the spot as your breath is harsh even to your own ears. Was it real? Was he here? Why would he be?
For what reason would he watch you sleep if not to investigate?
The cool mask calms your clammy skin. If he had looked under it, you wouldn't be here anyway. It's that morbid thought that brings you peace.
How ironic.
Knowing that sleep will not come to you for a while, you get dressed and follow the vague memory of the path Ganyu took when bringing you to the guest room.
It leads to the domain doors to the outside and the brush of your fingertips on the stone doors has it moving smoothly. The early morning sun warms the stone walkway as you exit into the free space.
The sight of the pond trudges up memories of yesterday. With a bright smile and light footsteps, you hurry down the staircase and jump over the water with ease.
"-yet how could we possibly forget such a vital ritual?" "One suspects larger factors are at play." "The records in our abodes should show-"
Catching the near ending of such a serious conversation, you slow down as they all turn to look at you.
"Awake already Y/N? Would you like a light breakfast?" Ganyu is the first to speak, the other adepti are surely still examining you. Now far more lucid than last night you are positive that having another meal with them would be a true nightmare.
"I'm not hungry when it's so early so I'll pass for now. There are many private duties that the creator asks of me and it would be best that I get straight to it. Yet there's a slight problem."
The adepti seem to tense up in unison, not that they are wrong for doing so. You've been a consistent thorn in their side since you met Mountain Shaper.
"You see, my body has not fully recovered from the injuries that I received from fighting the treasure hoarders. And with the how rough I was handled by you all, my injuries were reopened."
The wind ruffles your hair as if highlighting the bruise and talon marks. Your left hand is pressed against your chest making the sun shine on the bandaged arm. The parts of damaged exposed skin are the icing on the cake.
"Then what is it that you desire oracle of the beloved? Do you wish to check on the children that were saved?" Mountain Shaper's voice is like ice. Sharp when cold like yesterday but smooth when controlled correctly.
It was a good thing you slept, even if it was sucky. You almost missed out on such a great bargaining chip!
"That is one thing I plan to do when I head to the city but there's a few things before that. Since you're already offering to take me then it would be a great help if you can take me to this location."
Shamelessly you hold out the map in your handbook with the only commission location left.
Increasing Danger - Hilichurls are building towers in the circled area. Destroy these towers for the safety of the people.
Mountain Shaper sighs tiredly and is about to respond when you cut him off on purpose.
"Oh and those ceremonial tools we used in the ritual yesterday? I need them. The creator is an all-loving deity that would never desire to push away the innocent and loyal beings in Teyvat unless they deserved it. The creator wishes to conduct more rituals if necessary."
Cloud Retainer seems to stare at you in shock at the forceful way you pushed for the items you desire. The dagger and chalice glint in the sunlight as she resists the urge to hide them from your greedy eyes.
"But before you drop me off for good at my commission site, I'll need you all to help me activate the teleport waypoints. There's no way I'm climbing those mountains again. Besides, the creator blessed you all with such power, how could you not use it to support a fellow devotee?"
Your smile widens to bare all your teeth as Moon Carver avoids looking directly at you. They may be reluctant but you always make sure to have your debts be paid with interest. The price for hurting, exhausting, and stressing you out is not one to sneeze at either.
Quite a few teleport waypoints were activated with the dagger and chalice safely in your bag. Adeptus powers really were useful in situations like these. Within half an hour you had activated enough to safely teleport around Jueyun Karst without fear of running into the adepti again.
As Mountain Shaper sets you down nearby the hilichurl camp and towers for your commission, his curiosity finally gets the best of him.
"For what reason did you discolor so many teleport waypoints?"
"I can teleport using them due to the creator's blessing. Now that I activated them, I can teleport to all of your mountains whenever I want to visit!"
Each word you say with a cheerful grin seems to send him deeper into agony. He nods tightlipped and flies away. The wind brings his muttered words to your words.
"A vacation is in order. A vacation for as long as possible."
Messing with the adepti was really fun. You just hoped that they would go on vacation permanently, your job would be much easier that way.
All you have left is to finish this commission, teleport to the waypoint near the harbor's entrance and get your money. Simple as that. Opening the game window from your safe viewing spot of the hilichurl camp, you begin to review all the books on hilichurls.
First and foremost, thank you to the editor of this chapter @serpent-benediction! He was a huge help even if he terrorized me the whole time </3
It gives me more time to add some fun stuff like italics and bold. Stories pack more of a punch with flair, in my eyes at least. All the improvements to the chapter are his work like capitalizing Oracle and Creator. We did debate on whether adepti was species or title. So yall are free to give your opinion on which it is and whether it should be capitalized. I'm glad to see that (almost) all the build-up to the adepti part is finished. Well for the adepti at least. I was like dead tired after the choking part so that's why it may be a bit wonky. Now that I'm not pressed for time (yet. Sep is coming soon) I wanted to thank everyone for staying this long in the series! I love reading and responding to comments. I love reading the notes and/or tags from reblogs. I don't know if I should respond to reblogs like I do to comments. Cause I see some really in-depth reblogs that I wanna respond to but I end up not doing that thanks to my thoughts of-'Is that weird, strange or uncomfortable?' I just don't wanna scare anyone off. And for those that might wonder why Y/N was choking here but not with Beisht, it's due to Retainer. Retainer was using her adeptus power to pressure the water against Y/N which caused the drowning and bruises. I hope that clears it up a lil!
I'm a dumbass, I forgot the taglist. That's why it looked so short in my eyes. Everyone is allowed to yell at me for this (except for my editor) Taglist: @vvyeislazzy, @nikqi, @the-dumber-scaramouche, @etherisy, @yourlocalstranger123, @ra404, @iruiji, @goldenglow149, @haru-tofuu, @lsleepysimpl, @bebobeboben, @yuyuzi-ling, @amidst-the-tempest, @resident-cryptid, @mxd1zzy, @mochicurls21, @nervouseaglelover, @thedevioussmirk, @yumuramma, @kwqsla, @undecidingfate, @ehjane, @game-savvy, @akiramirae, @sielt, @fluffy-koalala, @formacoon, @sxftiebee, @khxii-i, @ursinaw, @chuuya-brainrot, @sweetbills, @kazuchaos, @snowfoxnix, @bluebelony, @conspicuous-mayonnaise, @pencil-of-ashes, @ghostlyintervention, @taiformaifoe, @sielt, @goaudduck, @carminerin, @maddysflowers, @zenith-of-all-zeniths, @crazydreamcat, @leafanonsforest, @grimreapersscythe, @leylanx, @undecidingfate, @sapphireknown, @help-whatdoimakemyusername, @zhonglisfruityass, @fluffy-koalala, @mer0n37, @victoria1676, @mochinessss, @sinnful-darling, @emilymikado

Just Eddie being a sweetheart to his princess :)
Minors dni, fluffy Friday thoughts.
Tumblr media
❤️
Eddie looks after you when you're feeling a bit meh and need to have some time away from the stresses of the world.
The two of you are cuddlebugs and you love nothing more than snuggling in his arms
When he's annoyed or pissed off about anything he loves a cuddle with you- his princess, loves burying his head to lay on your chest as you soothe his troubles away.
At first, he was reluctant to show his feelings, his old man always told him to bottle up what he was feeling, don't let anyone see him cry.
Don't be weak his father warned him.
It wasn't until he moved in with his Uncle Wayne, who helped him realise it was okay to show emotions.
Meeting you, finally getting to be himself, growing out his hair, dressing how he wanted, liking what he wanted helped with that too.
Now he loved nothing more than showing affection and receiving it in return, he didn't realise how touch-starved he was until your unbridled affection made him crave contact more and more.
Sure, he hugged Wayne and his friends but being with you was a wholely new emotional and intimate experience and he loved having you close.
When you came into the trailer with big sad eyes and looking like you had the weight of the world on your shoulders he jumped into action.
First, he ran you a bath, using those essential oils that you liked so much, lavender was a favourite of his even if he wouldn't admit it out loud, it calmed him too.
When you were finished with the bath he got your favourite sleep shirt that you left here for when you stayed the night and fluffy socks.
He listened as you told him about Jason being a douchebag, he would have to get the dickhead back for upsetting you.
No one upset his princess and got away with it, he knew he could be protective but he didn't care, he always wanted you to know that he had your back like you had his.
That you were a team.
After the rant about Carver you snuggle up beside him, he strokes your hair, pressing tender kisses to your forehead.
You stay like that for ages, nestled into him. Your head on his chest, making his heart race at having you so near.
"Do you feel better now sweetheart?" you nod and sit up, your expression brighter and a mischievous glint in your eyes.
"Mmm thank you baby, I feel so much better. In fact I would like nothing more than all those kisses and orgasms you promised you'd give me again and again" he smirks remembering his vow last night.
"As you wish princess" he pulls you to him and kisses you passionately.

Chicago Fire 11x13 thoughts:
The Hermans. that's all.
Carver is really giving me bad vibes. He kind of always does, but right off the bat this is just annoying.
HUH??? I'm so confused. Sylvie loved Matt at first sight??? Okay, we really are throwing previous storylines out the window now. (I'm not anti brettsey, but like make it make sense they worked together for years before they didn't start showing feelings til like season 8 or 9???) and Violet is giving logical advice and I admire that view.
I will always take more Sylveride team-ups if they are going to be like that. The best parts of an ensemble cast are the mix in partnerships!!!
Hermann, there is nothing wrong with accepting help, and I hope Gallo and RItter conspire to do something kind for them because they are really good guys. Ugh, they are so trying!!!
OH, WE ARE NOT DOING THIS CARVER. that smirk needs to go, I'm so glad I still don't like him because now I can see where this is going and I'm not about this.
Stella is doing what every good lieutenant would do; keep an eye on her team.
I'm supposed to remember that Kelly and Sylvie can't take gifts right??? this is a question for @agent-bash. That also seemed like a veiled threat right?? This might come back and bite them later on?? I'm not sure
Stella knows complicated pasts like no one else. But I just have a bad feeling about how this relationship between them might develop going forward. It could be good, but with Derek spearheading this I don't trust him.
The Hermanns need help. They need their firehouse family more than anything else. Stella's "this is what you did for my wedding" ugh THE FOUND FAMILY THAT I LOVE
Okay, this Sylveride gift thing is good. It's funny.
CHIEF THAT WAS SO OMINOUS WHAT DID YOU GIVE STELLA!!!! please be good please be good.
oh, lovely Hermann I'm sorry you walked in on that, and CINDY HERRMAN I LOVE YOU!!!!!
Severide messing with bows is adorable. Sylveride being friends is actually a good thing, it keeps Casey closer to both of them. Yea he might not be close to them right now but they have each other.
I'm concerned about Stella playing wingman with Carver. Do I agree that she is trying to do the right thing because he needs someone to ground him?? Yes, but in the mystical land of One Chicago I don't see this going all sunshine and rainbows. I'm proceeding with caution.
FIREFIGHTER AWARD OF VALOR!!!!!!! let's go lieutenant KIDD!!! (and carver yes he did well too but the guy freaks me out) Hold on his name is Sam??? have we established that already or did I just forget.
Sexy Stellaride!!!!!!! I really appreciate Stella being self-aware enough to understand and say that. And Kelly recognizes that even though they do things differently that's okay??? That's the communication that fosters a good marriage. It's so great to see this for them. TALKING. not assuming.
The Hermann kids in this episode are really really great. I hope they stick around more often now.
Stella backstory??? This I'm here for. Long time coming too.
All of these camera pans to Carver and Stella make me nervous. It screams foreshadowing of something we're not gonna see coming. OH NEVER MIND I SEE IT AND I ABSOLUTELY HATE IT. Carver is catching feelings for a married woman and I want to throw up. I had a gut feeling that I was begging was wrong. Carver THAT'S A MARRIED WOMAN IT'S GROSS.
Carver you can just shut up if you want to be mad by yourself, don't drag the rest of the firehouse into your pity party. Firehouse 51 is a family whether you like it or not. You can't beat them down but you can join them.
I had a feeling that was Lana's Dad.......
Yes, Carver is a hothead. And Stella has learned as a lieutenant with him being on her squad. Stella and Kelly are both right. This is the turning point with Carver as a character I think. It's either he stays or he goes and I have a feeling I know where this is headed.
Again for the 1 millionth time, Chris and Cindy Hermann and the kids deserve every good thing in the entire world.
Overall: The episode was 7/10. The Hermann family and firehouse team up alongside the side Sylveride storyline were the best parts. I'm bothered by Carver, and I'm concerned about how this fledgling "thing" with Stella is going to pan out because I don't even know how to describe this yet. Stella is trying to be a good lieutenant, I don't know what Carver's deal is I can't read him. I'm more concerned because they have to write Severide out of an undisclosed number of episodes now, so if this is going to be the filler I'm not going to like it.

Chapter VII. Closer
Eddie Munson x Fem!Reader Summary: A callous run-in with a certain someone leads you and Eddie to grow closer, but are your enemies more dangerous than they seem? Trigger Warnings: Violence, blood, past trauma, ptsd, exposed skin, idk Author's Note: I know it has been a hot minute since last, but life has been seriously roundhouse kicking my ass. Next chapter, a character that rhymes with sissy goes snap, crackle and pop...
Having Eddie in the same classes as you was not as enjoyable as it sounded.
He would always grab your arm and start drawing all over, creating little but many illustrations of old rickety houses, lightning bolts, bats, cemeteries and wyverns across your supple skin. It lead to you furiously scrubbing his artwork off during lunch just before you got home, sick of your parents questioning you over your impromptu sleeve and the curly haired metal head who barely left your side.
Eddie also couldn't be quiet, as the constant tapping of his ivory Reeboks or the clinking of thick metal rings practically drove you insane. Let alone his constant whispering of absolute nonsense into your ear - whether it be the melodic tune of his latest hyperfixation or completely inappropriate comments about Mrs. O'Donnel - that nearly made you burst into laughter every lesson.
But the worst of all, was that he needed you to explain practically everything from class to him. Not satisfied until his thousand "but why" 's were answered. Despite his subtle intelligence and unabating creativity, Eddie still needed a little hand here and there. And God was he annoying.
On today's menu, creating original poetry. Great, you thought.
You groaned across the cafeteria table after Eddie had pestered you about helping him write.
"I'm going to see Robin at Family Video first after school, so come over a little later."
Your best friend flashed his pearly grin.
You hadn't seen Robin over the last few days, apparently she was caught up in some business with Nancy and Steve. You hoped that she would be there this afternoon to help you pick out something to watch later tonight.
"Why is Jason Carver looking at you and Y/N like that?" Dustin asked.
His comment pulled you out of your reverie.
The whole table turned their head in unison toward the infamous Jason Carver, or to the balls-and-laundry-basket table as Eddie so imaginatively coined.
It was true. Jason's expression was a little unsettling. His face was hard and stern, like he was in the midst of taming his blazing rage. He barely broke away his piercing gaze from Eddie.
"Maybe he's still pissed about Y/N dunking a big fat bowl of punch on his stupid head." Gareth mused.
His comment earned a light chuckle from the table. You and Eddie smiled in earnest.
"Don't forget how she threatened to fight him too." Dustin interposed.
"Yeah. He's probably like, super embarrassed." Mike added.
"Embarrassed that Eddie has Chrissy wrapped around his little finger." Jeff retorted teasingly.
The whole table laughed, except for you and Eddie.
Your smile dropped along with your gaze. You scratched the back of your neck sheepishly, attention returning to your carrot sticks. They no longer were as appetising as they were when lunch had started, the slender orange now suddenly a nauseating sight.
Eddie remained still and wary - and unbeknownst to you - death staring Jeff for his flippant comment. He didn't have Chrissy wrapped around his finger. It was obvious from the moment that she flashed her wide smile and innocent eyes and asked Eddie if he had "the stuff" that she wasn't interested in him. At least not in that way. Sure Chrissy showed Eddie genuine kindness, but she was more concerned with what he had to offer.
Eddie didn't understand why the thought of him and Chrissy spoken aloud made him so uncomfortable. He had a crush on her not too long ago and felt free enough to share the desires of his heart to you. In fact, it was something he still ruminates on, groaning to himself as he tosses and turns late at night. He wanted to go back in time and smack his past self in the face for acting like such a love sick fool.
But ever since his fire for her fizzled out, he became incredibly anxious at the thought of you thinking that he still liked her.
The second Jeff teased Eddie about it, his heart quickened. He couldn't hide his immediate shift in demeanour.  Eddie couldn't understand why he even felt concerned about the whole thing to begin with.
"I do not." Eddie snapped.
Everyone went silent, his sudden change in mood earning confused looks from a sea of naive eyes.
"I mean..." He continued in a much calmer tone. "I don't know what you're talking about."
You started to bite your nails absentmindedly, desperate for something to distract you from the unpleasant conversation that seemed to encircle you.
"Don't you meet her in the woods outside of school all the time?" Gareth asked humourlessly.
That's our spot.
You met Eddie's gaze, a twinge of sadness growing in your chest. Its weeds wrapped around your heart when Eddie stayed silent, his doe eyes boring into yours.
After a moment, he continued on.
"I told you not to mention that out loud Gareth. It's not exactly public knowledge." Eddie seethed, briefly looking around to ensure no one in the busy cafeteria heard.
You looked away from Eddie, unable to decipher the all encompassing distrust that suddenly emerged.
You didn't really have much reason to doubt Eddie, his heart bold and honest on his sleeve. Yet, for some reason you did. These feelings of almost jealousy made you wary.
"I help her take the edge off, that's all. If Jason knew, who knows what he would do to the both of us."
Gareth and Jeff hummed in response, willing to drop the whole thing out of boredom. Like they were a dog playing with a chew toy whose piercing squeak were no longer entertaining.
So, you and Eddie finished your lunch in silence, whilst the rest of the boys returned to mindless chatter. But your mind - as usual - would be consumed by thoughts that your best friend was growing dishonest with you. And soon enough, would learn the dreadful yet all too true past which followed you everywhere.
-
It was afternoon now and you were at Family Video, hoping to catch Robin to help you rent a film for your post writing session with Eddie. You wandered the aisles, waiting to discover something that would please the both of you.
Eddie adored anything scary and filled with gore, whilst you enjoyed the likes of a good story or some German expressionism. Although, getting Eddie to enjoy a silent film was a terribly hard task. He had never been one to focus and needed dialogue to really capture his attention.
You hoped that whatever weird funk you were in at lunch would dissipate by the time Eddie arrived. You hoped even more, that watching a movie together would put your mind at ease, allowing you to fall into sync with your best friend effortlessly.
You were tossing up between Frankenstein and Nosferatu, hoping for Robin to pop around and help you decide.
"Hey." Steve beamed.
His voice caught you off guard, causing you to drop Nosferatu onto the carpet.
"Shit." You muttered, crouching down to pick it up.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. Although, based off the looks of it that's what you're after?"
He motioned toward the films in your hands and smiled convivially.
"Yeah, I have a thing for vampires and reanimated corpses it seems." You shook your head, playfully ashamed.
Steve smiled wide and leaned against the shelf, stumbling a little when his elbow missed the surface.
He cleared his throat.
"You doing okay? After Friday, I mean. Thought I'd have to call the cops to haul you away." He mused teasingly.
You genuinely laughed, somehow coming around to the humour of the previous Friday.
"I don't know what you put in that punch Harrington, but it really got my wires mixed up." You replied playfully.
He scratched his chin and flaunted his pearly teeth.
"And here I was thinking that they were already like that."
"Hey!" You chided.
You smacked him on the side jestingly and chuckled at his antics. When he recovered, he took a deep breath.
"So, what are you doing here?" Steve asked, leaning the side of his head on closed knuckles.
"You know, looking for something to watch tonight. I'm just waiting for Robin to help me out."
As if saying her name had spoken her into existence, she magically appeared next to you.
"Nosferatu? I mean it's not bad, but The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari is way better. Might relate to it a bit more considering you aren't sleeping these days." Robin remarked, resting a gentle hand on your shoulder.
You and Steve exchanged knowing glances, glint of humour dancing around in your eyes.
"Hello to you too." You replied sarcastically.
"Wait, you're not sleeping?" Steve questioned with a furrowed brow.
Before you could clarify, Robin did.
"Yeah dingus, she keeps having these awful nightmares and crazy nosebleeds. The other day her headache was so bad that she didn't listen to her walkman because the headphones hurt to be on her head." She explained animatedly.
Your eyes widened in embarrassment. It wasn't a big deal and Steve didn't need to know. You were afraid that he would worry or look at you as if you had some serious psychological issues. Not like it would be such a terrible fate, but you didn't think something so odious could be easily digested by someone like Steve.
"Thank you for the suggestion Rob, but I think that's my cue to leave."
You gently squeezed Robin's shoulder to soothe her and hopefully discreetly inform her that she had overshared.
Steve forced a placating grin as he ran a firm hand through his swirly mane.
You waved a kind hand to Harrington as you walked out of Family Video, hoping to God that this weird tizzy of a day would draw to a close soon.
-
The warm Indiana afternoon faded into a raven sky, set aglow by tiny speckles of constellations. Sprawled across your fuzzy rug still in the same clothes, worry ate at you when Eddie still hadn't arrived.
It was 9pm and you were coming to the conclusion that perhaps he never would. You were slightly worried, yet mostly annoyed. He had pestered you at lunch about helping him with his poetry. But maybe he ended up with Chrissy? The thought kept pervading your mind, never allowing you to rest.
Desperate to get comfortable, you slowly rose from your languid position in hopes to change into something more agreeable.
After you discarded your shirt and jeans onto your bedroom floor, leaving you in just your underwear and white singlet, you slowly pulled on some great sweat pants and woolly socks.
Just as you pulled them on, a sudden yet light tap from your bedroom window garnered your attention. You snapped your head in its direction, heart almost going asystole at the intrusion, until a familiar head of curls came into view.
Clutching at your chest in fear, you watched as Eddie gave a small wave through the window pane. You let out a relieved breath and slowly stalked your way over.
The window opened with a click.
"Eddie." You breathed, voice a little raspy from fright. "What on earth are you doing? You were supposed to be here hours ago."
Eddie hoisted a jean clad leg over the frame and slid into your room with practiced ease.
"Was a little caught up." He groaned in response as he tried to shut your window.
"I was getting changed, you could have just come through the front door."
"Don't worry, I didn't see nothing." Eddie remarked unconcerned, turning around to face you.
As your warm bedroom light hit his pale face, you noticed a shattered mosaic of deep blues and purples across his right eye and cheek. A bright crimson stain trailed down his Helfire shirt that was now soiled in what seemed to be blood. His plush bottom lip had an angry slit in it, revealing layers of tonal reds amongst vivid pink. Eddie looked like he had just come back from hell.
"Jesus fucking Christ." You muttered, taking his injured head into your hands.
"Gentle, sweetheart." Eddie replied, wincing as your hands came to rest on his battered cheeks.
A million thoughts ran through your mind all at once, as if each one were a train colliding directly into one another. Your eyes nearly burst out of your skull as you took in Eddie's injuries, making note of each indigo splotch and dots of dried blood.
"Who did this to you?" You asked incredulously. Eddie swallowed the lump that had magically formed in his throat.
"Jason." He replied, sore lips grazing the inside of your palm.
Eddie gripped your wrists gently and pulled them away from his face.
You remained silent as he skulked around your room, taking a liking to the end of your plush bed. He patted the spot next to him, motioning for you to come sit.
You held your arms over your chest and joined him.
You might have appeared calm albeit shocked, but on the inside you were fuming.
How the fuck could Jason do this? You wanted to stride over to his house and set him alight. You could barely wrap your head around it.
"Eds...why did he do this to you?" You asked softly, still bewildered by his injured complexion.
Your question made Eddie think back to this afternoon.
"Hey freak!" Jason called, cornering Eddie in the school parking lot.
Jason and his posse waited until late, the time of day where it was deserted and when Eddie had finished writing his newest campaign for Helfire in the drama room.
Eddie turned around with a whoosh, only standing mere centimetres from his van. He barely had any time to register what was happening, falling to the ground with a thud.
"Think you could get away with it freak? Hanging around Chrissy. Your little slut threatening me?"
Jason started punching Eddie over and over and over. His rage unleashed and untamed.
Suddenly Eddie was laughing, a wide smirk growing across his busted lip and bruised cheek. Jason stilled his vicious movements, brows furrowed in hesitancy.
"That's it Carver?" Eddie taunted. "I thought you were a tough guy, but you punch like a girl."
Jason blinked in shock and stepped back, before throwing an even harder punch. Eddie rolled to the side and spat out some blood.
"Maybe a little harder this time and you might actually leave a mark." He groaned.
Eddie tilted his head back in roaring laughter, smearing blood across his face with the back of his palm.
Jason took the incentive and hit him harder and harder, growing ever more frustrated. Eddie was becoming battered and bruised, yet he didn't lose the fight.
When Jason stepped away, conceding to Eddie's taunts and the feeling of humiliation, Eddie laughed even harder.
"Come on champ, thought you were trying to prove me wrong."
After several more punches and groans of frustration, they left a manically cackling Eddie in the parking lot, peeling away in Jason's car and driving off into the late afternoon.
"Wait, he did this because of me?" You asked disbelievingly.
Eddie turned to face you, grabbing both of your wrists to anchor you to him.
"No, absolutely not. He's had it out for me ever since middle school. This has nothing to do with you, okay?" Eddie soothed, absentmindedly running his thumb over the back of your palm
You hung your head low, trying to listen to his comforting words. They were failing in their effectiveness.
"There's a first aid kit in the bathroom, I'll be right back." You remarked, slowly slipping out of his reassuring grip.
When you returned with swabs and gauze, you disinfected his many wounds. The sight of deep burgundy against sharp white made your stomach curl. You kept gently dabbing the cut above his eye, mesmerised at how a protuberant head of blood kept returning after several attempts at blotting the skin.
"What's the prognosis doc?" Eddie questioned sarcastically, momentarily breaking his trance from your worrisome complexion.
You huffed, tucking a loose coil of hair behind his ear. You didn't want specks of dried blood to be caught in his mane.
"Well, you're going to be okay. Just a little swollen and bruised, but still beautiful."
Eddie quietly crooned.
"Did you hear that? My little Florence Nightingale thinks I'm beautiful."
"Shut up." You warned, lightly smacking his arm.
You placed all of the soiled swabs and gauze that were still slick with blood into a plastic bag. You closed the lid of the first aid kit from the bathroom and placed it on your night stand.
The soft incandescence of your lampshade casted a warm glow in your room, subtly highlighting Eddie's battered complexion. He looked vulnerable in front of you, an elusive reminder that he was not impervious to pain or brutality. That Hawkins was a terribly violent place and people like Eddie, people who were different were a constant target. A source of retribution.
Just like in the past, people who you care about can be taken from you without warning, without any proper reasoning at all. And in the grand scheme of things, you are forever powerless to stop it.
"Whatcha thinkin' about?" Eddie queried, nudging his jean clad knee with yours.
Your silence worried him.
"Nothing." You replied instinctively.
Your reply was thoughtless and even Eddie couldn't understand why you even attempted to lie at all. He knew you too well.
What Eddie didn't know, was why you always kept him at arms length. Sure he had an idea that it had something to do with the enigmatic Matt, or your distant relationship with your parents, or even your past life before Hawkins (whatever that consisted of). But he could never really be certain and the weight of that speculation had started to become impossible.
Yet, he let it go and hummed softly in response.
"So um, you're gonna get mad at me for bringing this up but, when I saw you getting...getting-"
"Changed?"
"Yeah, changed. I noticed a little something around your uh...hip area."
Your eyes widened and you shot up from the bed.
"Eddie! You said you didn't see anything!" You practically shouted.
Eddie roared to his feet to join you.
"I know! I know! I didn't want you to feel...violated. I swear I didn't look on purpose!"
You turned to face him, groaning to yourself that Eddie had probably seen your half-naked form. Not just you in shorts and a singlet, but part of your bare things and hip bone.
"Christ, Eddie." You muttered, relaxing back into the mattress.
Eddie joined suit, mirroring your movements out of fear of your wrath for seeing you in such a vulnerable and compromising way.
Another silent moment passed.
"So, is it uh, a tattoo?" He asked quietly.
You turned to face him as his he cast his gaze toward his feet sheepishly.
You let Eddie's question linger in the air, deliberating what to do next. It was a tattoo, but it wasn't done on a whim or for a stupid bet or dare. It was important, a part of something larger, something you hadn't shared with Eddie. Something that even the thought of sharing had you petrified.
"You want to see?" You asked, barely above a whisper.
Eddie now turned to face you, fashioning a delicate expression of caution. He knew his abrasiveness could land him in some deep shit sometimes, but he didn't want this to be one of those times. Eddie had taken notice of how your mood would suddenly shift or how the air would carry something heavy at the drop of a pin. He had never really known what caused it, but he learnt that it was specific to you and he shouldn't push if he could help it. But he knew that moments where you would pull back the curtain even for a mere second were precious and worth savouring.
"Okay."
You cleared your throat before pulling down the right side of your waistband, slowly revealing an inky spot saddled on your hip. The whole thing felt so inglorious, revealing a strange part of skin that Eddie wouldn't have ever seen typically. It didn't feel sensual, it felt deeply pregnable.
Suddenly, the small tattoo was completely exposed, the rest of your waist hidden by the fabric of your singlet.
Eddie's breath hitched. Seeing a tattoo on you did something to him. What that something was, he wasn't quite sure yet.
"It's a butterfly." You remarked, noticing his tacit silence. "A monarch more specifically."
With your statement Eddie chuckled lightly.
"I never would have expected you to have a tattoo." He replied, looking up to your orbs with a mischievous grin.
You hummed sardonically in response.
Before you knew it Eddie ran his thumb over the butterfly, sending sharp shudders down your spine.
"You give me so much shit for my tattoos and the whole time you had one and didn't tell me."
Eddie was smiling to himself, tracing the small orange inking, running his finger tip along the fanned out wings.
"I didn't get this so girls would think that I was hot Eddie." You chided, his hand still resting on your waist.
"You think I'm hot?" Eddie asked, devilish smile growing.
You turned away, desperately wishing for respite from his grin, his burning touch, his all-encompassing proximity. The whole thing was a little too much for you all of a sudden.
Eddie must have noticed, pulling up your waistband for you and shifting away nonchalantly. You couldn't hide anything from him. He was too terribly perceptive and it killed you.
"So why'd you get it?" He asked inquisitively.
You pulled your knees to your chest, attempting to compose yourself.
"My brother always liked them." You replied, resting your elbows on your pale knees. "There used to be a whole cluster of them back home."
Eddie nodded in response, savouring the fitful acknowledgement of your past.
You stood up from the bed and moved to the other side of your room. Opening the cupboard doors, you pulled out a crocheted blanket.
"I don't think you should go home to Wayne looking like that, you should call him and tell him that you're staying here for the night." You mused as you placed the blanket gently into his lap.
Eddie watched in awe as you moved around your room so effortlessly. He hadn't ever been treated with such kindness, softness or sentimentality in his entire life (apart from Wayne) until he had met you.
The way you always thought ahead, about little infinitesimal details that seemed to escape him so frequently, rendered him overcome with wonder. It was this moment that he wanted to cry, not because he was sad or fearful, but because he felt seen, cared for and loved. Even if it wasn't the kind of love that could be articulated in an overt way, it was the kind of love that surfaced so subtlety, yet always in complete abundance.
-
“How do you even like this movie?” Eddie asked with a sigh. Mock annoyance dancing off his plush lips. He had already grown tired within the first few minutes, struggling to read the German that presented so boldly on the screen.
You turned to your left, studying Eddie’s profile, or more distinctly his nose. You made note of its slanted descent and bulbous tip. You watched how the lowlight of the tv reflected off his pale skin, illuminating little mousy spots that peppered his complexion.
“I don’t know.” You started, nudging your shoulder with his as you laughed.
You looked to the raven words that flashed on the screen.
Does this word not sound like the deathbird
calling your name at midnight?
Beware you never say it - for then
the pictures of life will fade to shadows,
haunting dreams will climb forth from your heart
and feed on your blood.
“You can’t ever deny death. But maybe you can commemorate sacrifice. Right the wrongs dying causes, even if it feels hopeless to do so. Even if you’re depleted of willingness to try.”
Eddie stilled, shock very much evident in his rigid features. You on the other hand had been consumed by heavy and existential ruminations.
He studied the faraway look you possessed within your glowing black irises, drinking in your despair like crisp water in the middle of a dark night.
“And here I thought it was about a hairless vampire.” Eddie remarked jestingly.
It made you chuckle and turn away shamefaced. You hadn’t intended on growing so experiential.
But the movie had eventually ended, leaving you laden and dreary eyed on Eddie’s firm shoulder. He watched you breathe in and out slowly, consumed by the rise and fall of your heavy chest.
He didn’t dare move - despite the stinging pain on the side you rested - afraid you would stir and wake. Even with the absolute shit beaten out of Eddie, he always thought of you in the way he thought of no other.
After gazing at your form as if you hung in the deep walls of the Uffizi like a Botticelli painting, Eddie drifted off into sleep. His body directly craned into yours, with calloused fingertips barely touching, the space between singing to the infinite. The two of you molded together so sweetly, naturally, like two small children unaware of the world's failings and frailty.

Tumblr media
You gasped loudly as he threw you over the bed, pupils blown with lust as he drank you in. You had never seen such hunger in his eyes. He was hungry and he made that clear as he ripped off your blouse in one swift motion leaving you just in your shorts.
All of your rational thoughts flew out of the window as he started leaving kisses down your body. His hands massaged one of your breasts as his mouth latched onto another, eliciting a deep moan from your mouth as his tongue flicked your hardened nipple.
You knew this was bad but you were taken by the piece of writing like a moth drawn towards the flame. You had put your hands in the fire, willingly, and now you were going to get burned by it, but you couldn't stop yourself from reading the next lines.
“De-” you whimpered as he let go of your nipples and started to work on your pants. His hands brushed your clothed core as he murmured, “Mhm, so wet for me already. How long have you been thinkin’ ‘bout me, sweetheart?” Dean ripped your panties and let out a low growl, making you shiver in anticipation.
“Long enough.” You purred. He pulled at your panties as he captured your lips in a passionate kiss. His teeth grazed your lower lips, drawing out a low moan out of you.
A small whimper left your lips as you looked around the empty bunker, thanking your luck that Sam and Dean were both out to pick up some supplies. You contemplated whether to move your reading to your bedroom or stay at the War Room table surrounded by piles of lore books.
You didn't even know how you ended up on this fansite because all this time you clearly had no idea that fans from all over the world were writing certain stories involving the Winchester based on the books by Carver Edlund. You were supposed to be researching for new cases, not read some erotic piece of writing about Dean Winchester, your best friend, but you somehow opened this site and you did come across a really sensual story, and ever since you started reading it, you couldn't stop. So there was no turning back now.
You let out a little sigh as you read on, knowing very well your panties were now ruined.
“God, you're so beautiful,” he whispered into your ears. He licked his lips, his eyes raking over your naked form.
“And you're overdressed,” you whined tugging at his jeans.
“Someone's a little too eager,” he smirked and pulled his shirt over his head, throwing it on the floor. You could see his growing excitement strain against the material of his jeans. Your hands reached out to palm the very noticeable bulge but he quickly swatted your hand away.
“Tonight is not about me, it's about you, sweetheart.” He smirked.
“Mhm,” you nodded, unable to form a coherent sentence. You threw your head back as you cried out in ecstasy when Dean put a finger inside you. He pumped twice before adding another. Your eyes fluttered shut as he curled his fingers in you, the tips brushing against your g-spot repeatedly, the action drawing out a loud moan from you. You could feel yourself edging towards the climax as Dean kept on repeating the motion.
You bit down on your lip, trying to stop your own moan that was threatening to leave your mouth. Your free hand gripped your thigh tightly, nails digging into your skin through your jeans as you felt your face on fire.
“Fuck,” you cursed as he pulled out his fingers just before you could come. He had a devilish smirk on his face and you wanted nothing more than to wipe it off. He quickly opened the button on his jeans before pushing it down along with his boxers, his hard length springing free. You watched him as he took his cock in his hands, pumping himself twice before rubbing up and down his length, the tip of his length beaded with precum.
“Are you going to fuck me tonight?” You were getting annoyed with his teasing.
“Such a needy little thing, aren't you?” Dean pressed his lips onto yours in a chaste kiss before lining himself in front of your entrance. You sucked in a deep breath as he pushed himself in you. He-
You slammed your laptop shut as you heard the boys coming down the stairs. So lost in the story, you didn't even hear the boys closing the door of the bunker.
“Honey, we're home!” Dean teased, as he rounded the corner of the stairs and stood across the table. “You okay?” He narrowed his eyes at you as he placed the pack of beer on the table.
“Y-yeah. I'm great. Awesome. Amazing. Fantastic,” you blurted out and mentally slapped yourself - like that was totally going to help you and not raise any suspicion.
You looked at Dean with hooded eyes, feeling like you were seeing him in a new light. Were his eyes always this beautiful shade of green? Your eyes travelled downwards as you gulped at the sight of his jeans hanging low on his hips.
“Y/N?” You jumped at the voice of Sam.
“W-what?”
“Are you okay? You look a little flushed,” he asked with worries in his eyes.
“Stop asking me if I'm okay!” You exclaimed.
“Okay,” Dean raised up his hands in defence. Grabbing your laptop from the table, you stood up and turned on your heels to go to your room.
Tumblr media
It had been three days since you had read the story about Dean, which you had eventually completed reading once you were alone in your bedroom. Three days since you had spent every spare minute you had to look up more of those writings about Dean. But now, you regretted it because every time you crossed paths with him, you wanted nothing but to rip his clothes off and jump his bones. You cursed Chuck for writing about the lives of the Winchesters and publishing it, giving way to the inspirations for these fanfictions. Your feelings toward him had intensified and you couldn't even form a complete sentence without stuttering while talking to him.
Even though Dean was indifferent to the change in your actions, Sam had quickly caught on to it but you had kept your mouth tightly shut, though you didn't know how long you would be able to control yourself around him - especially after tonight.
As you laid in the bed of a rundown motel room, you picked up a pillow to cover your ears, trying to drown out the voices coming from Dean's room. The banging of the headboard against the paper thin wall and the loud moans of the girl made you wonder if sex with Dean was really as good as you read in the stories. You looked over to the other bed in the room and saw Sam’s chest rise and fall accompanied by heavy breathing, indicating he was in deep sleep but Dean's low grunts and moans from the other room made it impossible for you to get any sleep that night.
“Morning,” Dean strolled into your room the next morning, with a stupid ‘I got laid’ look on his face. You glanced at him while sipping your coffee but refrained from saying anything.
“Next time, stay at another motel if you decide to bring home a girl,” Sam grumbled at his brother.
“So this is what it is all about? I swear you both are so uptight. You just need to get laid,” he smirked, taking a seat at the table across you.
You looked at him again but didn't say anything. You knew it was stupid to be angry at him. He was a man with needs and it was not like you had said anything to him about your crush.
“What's the matter with you?” Dean asked. You ignored his question as you grabbed your FBI clothes before marching off into the bathroom. Closing the door behind you, you let out a sigh of relief. You couldn't think straight with Dean Winchester looking like a freaking Vogue model in a suit. You took your sweet time to put on your clothes before leaving the bathroom.
“Y/N,” Dean said the moment you entered the room. You didn't even bother to look at him. “You can't ignore me forever.”
“I'm not ignoring you,” you finally spoke, “I'm just not talking to you.”
“Why? What did I do, sweetheart?”
“I'm not your sweetheart, Dean Winchester,” you snapped, surprising him.
“Easy there tiger,” he joked before slipping into his work persona, “So what do we have?” Dean picked up your laptop and logged into it before you could say anything. Your eyes widened in horror and embarrassment as you saw Dean’s face scrunch up, his eyes moving swiftly over the laptop screen.
“I had no idea you were into fifty shades, Y/N,” he chuckled.
“What?”
“This. You were reading porn.” He wiggled his eyebrows. “Oh Y/N. I was so wrong abo-” He suddenly stopped mid sentence as the playfulness left his face. “What is this?” Dean frowned.
“I….I don't-” You stammered. This wasn't supposed to happen. He wasn't supposed to find out.
“Dean?” Sam called out to his brother, noticing his change in expression. The older Winchester shoved the laptop towards his brother, all the while glaring at the electronic device.
“What the hell?” Sam exclaimed as he took a look at the screen. “Y/N. Tell me you weren't-”
“She clearly was.” You winced at how Dean spit out those words.
“I can explain. I just came across-”
“Don't.” Dean snapped and stormed out of the room.
Tumblr media
The hunt was a success and right now you and the Winchesters were celebrating the success in a bar. You rolled your eyes as you saw Dean flirting with a blonde so you knew you weren't going to get any sleep tonight either but what bothered you the most was that Dean had barely spoken any words to you since he found out about the stories.
“Hey are you okay?” Sam asked as you sat there at the counter nursing a glass of drink.
“Y-yeah I'm fine,” you whispered.
“Talk to me. You know your secrets are always safe with me,” he smiled.
“What's left to say? I came across a story. It was an erotic piece of writing with, uh-Dean, and I read it. Now I can't look at him without thinking that I invaded his privacy. I know it's all fiction but I read porn about my best friend. Everytime I see him, I am reminded of how he flicks his tongue-”
“Y/N! Too much information,” Sam groaned.
“Sorry.”
“What you did is wrong but you can't turn back time, can you?”
“No but what am I supposed to do?”
“Get laid. Relieve some of that tension.” Sam shrugged, making you glare at him.
“I love your brother, Sam who is over there flirting with that blonde, not talking to me. I-I can't do this. It's better if I just pack up my bags and permanently move to Antarctica.” You muttered.
“Y/N, be realistic. Talk to him or find someone to scratch your itch.” Sam said, getting out of his seat before walking away from you. You flagged the bartender for another round when you noticed a man slide into the seat next to you.
“Hey gorgeous. What is a pretty little thing like you doing all alone here?” You wanted to puke as soon as you heard the man speak. He placed a hand on yours, making your shudder.
“Hey,” you said, trying to use some of Sam’s advice and it was only for one night.
“Want to get out of here?” You fought the urge to roll your eyes at the man’s straightforwardness, he could have at least bought you a drink.
“Uhm-” you played along.
“Come on baby. You and I are gonna have an amazing night with your pussy wrapped around my cock-” and that was the final strike. You were ready to get out of the bar but not with that man.
“No thanks, I have a boyfriend,” you mumbled before finishing your drink and storming out of the bar, unbeknownst to the fact that Dean was watching the whole interaction, the woman beside him long forgotten.
Seeing you storm out of the bar, peaked his curiosity. He was never good with feelings so when he caught you fantasizing about him, it took him entirely by surprise. He had stormed out of that room because if he had stayed one more second, he would have taken you right then and there. After that incident, he couldn't get you out of his mind and that was making him uncomfortable because it was getting impossible for him to continue walking around with a hard on.
Tumblr media
Three harsh knocks on the door of the motel room interrupted your solo drinking session. Annoyed, you went to the door only for Dean to push it open and get in quickly
“Dean? What are-” your words were cut off by him loudly closing the door behind him. “Look I'm sorry, Dean. I know you can't even probably look at me. I am so sorry-”
“Why did you read about me?”
“What?”
“Why did you read about me? Why not read about Sam?” He raised his eyebrows at you.
“I-I….well. It's-I don't exactly have a reason-”
“Y/N.” He cocked his head.
“Fine. I like you. I like Sam too but he is like a brother to me and you're you. I-” you stopped rambling when you heard him scoff lightly.
“Then what's the matter with you?”
“Huh?” Now you were utterly confused.
“One moment you say that you like me and the next you are flirting with a sleazy bastard at the bar,” he huffed.
“You saw that?”
“Of course I did.”
“I thought you were angry at me because I literally read porn about you. You stormed out of that room.” You fiddled with the hem of your shirt as you whispered the words to him.
“I was angry but not at you. I don't like Chuck’s books but I kinda feel proud that you read porn about me,” you looked up at Dean and saw him smirking, “I was angry at myself because all this goddamn time I kept thinking you didn't feel the same.”
“What?”
“You have read about what fake-me can do, wanna see what the real me can?” He wiggled his eyebrows.
“W-what?” At this question, Dean leaned in, cupping your cheek as he captured your lips in a kiss. Your hands travelled all the way to the back of his neck, pulling him closer. His tongue swept across your lips, making you whimper. You both stumbled back to the bed, his lips still on yours. You only separated for a few seconds when you two quickly undressed.
Tumblr media
“Dean!” You cried out as you felt yourself coming undone, followed by a guttural groan from Dean as he spilled inside you, coating your walls with his seed. He panted, dropping his head in the crook of your neck as you both came down from the high. Raising his head, Dean looked at you with a fond expression on his face as he pulled out of you, rolling to the other side of the bed.
“Whoever said it was very wrong. Reality is so much better than fiction,” you giggled, looking at the man lying beside you. He turned his body to pull you closer, pecking your lips.
“I can't argue with you on that. Now no more reading about me, okay?” You nodded a stupid grin on your face.
“I got the real deal.”
“So you're not moving to Antarctica, are you? ‘Cause I would love to call you mine and I'm not good at long distance stuff,” Dean smirked.
“No, Winchester. I am not going anywhere because I would love to be called yours. Also remind me to kill Sam in the morning.” You huffed, making Dean burst out in fits of laughter.

Andrew Dabb is by far the weakest showrunner SPN has had. I dont understand why you stan him? I mean, you're entitled to your opinion of course but to me he obviously doesnt care about canon or the Winchesters, only the side characters and pandering to the 1% (Hellers)
First, let me say I don't “stan” him, I just don't think he’s any worse than any other showrunner SPN has had, and in some ways, he's even better.  Apologies up front that this may run long, but I have a lot to say about the subject.
I didn’t join the Tumblr fandom until s11 was over and the show had changed hands from Carver to Dabb. All summer long I heard from Hellers how Dabb hates the Winchesters toxic co-dependency and is going to do away with it. And he is “for sure” going to make Destiel canon because he likes it and so does his assistant, she even had books published on the subject! So everyone not interested in that ship, dispised Dabb before the season even started filming, However, the Hellers were proven wrong, Dabb has done the least destiel pandering than ANY other showrunner, and has improved on Sam and Dean’s relationship while still managing to keep them dangerously co-dependent, but for some reason, the Hellers still preach the opposite and the bibros still believe them. I don’t think the fandom gave Dabb a fair chance.
Now,  I agree that there have been some bad stories, and failure to keep up with canon and some annoying retcons but because i actually watch the series over and over, I can see this has been a problem with every showrunner, even Kripke.  A problem I have seen with the show since the beginning is maybe, there have been too many writers and maybe they dont watch the show or read what other writers have written from episode to episode. But since this has been a constant, I dont go nuts when it happens over and over because I still love the show and I am still invested in the whole story.
One thing I learned quickly when I came to the fandom is the hypocrisy is level 50 on all sides. One side hates the other because theyre bullies but the other side isnt much better.  Bitter girls are critical of the other brother for things they dont hold against their fav and everyone thinks J2 hate the show as much as they do. These people may never know how ridiculous they look by watching a show for 10 years past the time they stopped liking it, or bitching about a show they dont even watch anymore and pretend they have a clue whats going on.
As I watch the Krikpe era recently, I like picking out things that the fandm would cry about if it happened now. In s1 Faith all the reapers were scary monster looking shriveled old dudes, and then in 2.1 (Less than 10 episodes later) Dean’s Reaper tells him Reapers can appear as whatever they want even a pretty girl “RETCON!!!” I could hear y’all crying if Dabb did that.  And why did saying “Christo” help point out a demon once but never again? (till s14 when they did a call back)
How about fan-favorite Mystery Spot? We all love that right? But if it wasnt an episode until the Dabb era, you would all flame it because Sam keeps saying every day is exactly the same, thats how he knows what is going to happen and yet none of the days are the same as the one before. “THESE WRITERS SUCK!!!!!” is the response you all would give
The End is literally double Dean and 5 minutes of Sam. In the Beginning is literally 46 seconds of Sam, if these episodes happened now alll id hear is “Dabb hates Sam... writers hate Jared!!”
How about S4 when the Angels are threatening to kill Sam for using his powers, and yet, they want him to kill Lilith with his powers?? What? Theres no way that would fly in the Dabb era.
How about introducing the Anti-Christ in a season about The Apocolypse and not following through on it? Or how everyone shades Dabb for pushing Wayward sisters when Kripke pushed Ghost Facers? Even threw in a random and highly out of place advertisement for their web series that never went anywhere? (random promo in Hammer of the Gods) or having girls constantly getting in the boys’ way and Dean frequently telling Sam he cant trust him and doesnt believe in him?? “No one knows the brother’s love as well as Kripke uwu”
As far as destiel fodder goes, if anyone just started watching SPN in s12, they would never get a vibe that Dean and Cas have a thing, but maybe Sam and Cas do, Cas and Dean are hardly even friends since S12, yet the Kripke era gave birth to Destiel, and Gamble and Carver fed into it “I gripped you tight and raised you from perdition” “He was your boyfriend first” “Bases loaded bottom of the 9th, (cas) Id rather have you (as opposed to Sam) “ *dean carries trench coat around in the trunk of all his beater cars* “I need you.... we need you” “Theres people, and feelings, that I want to experience differently now, maybe for the first time” (when the only people in Deans life at the time were Sam and Cas) ALL came before Dabb, and what is Dabb guilty of? “I love you, I love all of you” and a mix tape.
So no... Dabb isnt perfect, but he definitely doesnt suck. I just think y’all decided to hate him before s12 and just never gave him a fair shot.  Hardly any of you rewatch the series and cant remember things that happened back in the day, you just all seem to have this notion it was all gritty car scenes, googly eyes and dirty motel rooms.
Have a Merry Christmas

i don't know your ocs' names but i want to give you an excuse to talk about them so hm... do multiples of 3 for the oc ask
Oh boy this is… okay!I’m going to spoil my boy, Elias Hawke. Here we go.
1. What is/are your OC’s nickname(s) and how did it come about?
The obvious reply is that his nickname is “Hawke”, just out of being well… Hawke. But his family has amassed some other names, like “bumbling idiot” (Amanda), “nug head” (Bethany, on rare occasions), “smart-ass” (Carver)… most of them are with love. Malcolm used to call him Eli. That was a long time ago.
3. How tall is your OC?
He’s a wonderful 6′2 beefy mage, which means plenty of love to go around.
6. What is one word you would use to describe your OC’s appearances?
himbo
9. What does your OC’s bedroom look like?  His/her living area?
Depends! He had to share the space in Gamlen’s place with Leandra, Amanda and Carver, so it was too cramped for anything of substance. Once they move into the Amell estate, he’s got his own room, so it quickly becomes more “lived in”. He’s not a super messy sort of guy, but you’ll quickly find books strewn on his desk that he never bothered to put back, and he doesn’t make his bed. Just can’t see the point!
12. What is your OC’s relationship with his/her father?
Okay, I’m actually really glad I get to answer this one. So before Malcolm passed away, he was pretty much the only one in the family who Elias felt particularly close to. Being a mage, it meant that he was under pretty high security (as was Bethany, but I’ll get into that) and both Amanda and Carver felt a little resentment toward their brother for being the reason they couldn’t live a “normal” life. As a result, he felt very isolated from his non-magic family. Malcolm was fun, kind, and Elias developed similar if not the exact same mannerisms as his father. When he was forced into the “family head” position after his father died, it might be that he tried to behave in a similar fashion because it would put his family more at ease. He remembers his father dearly.
15. What was your OC’s childhood like?
Like I said, Elias was a mage born into a world where magic was feared, and with an apostate father his childhood consisted of constant moving and an ever-present fear of being taken from his family to the Circle. He received a great deal of training from his father on how to use his magic safely, and did his best to stay out of trouble–rather, stay out of trouble with the Templars. There was a time when he and his twin sister Amanda were close, but after his magic manifested, their connection faded. This isn’t to say it was all bad. His family, despite their troubles, was very happy for a time, and his fondest memories were dinner time conversations which usually came with some type of entertainment like a play or a mock sword fight between Amanda and little Carver (but she had to be careful with him).
18. How many times did your OC move as a child?  Which area was his/her favorite?
He wouldn’t be able to give you a solid number. Too many times to count, but he loved the people in Lothering. Especially once the Blight started, everyone was trying so desperately to help one another, it really kept up his faith in others to see those who truly cared doing all they could–him included.
21. Who are your OC’s closest relatives?
Before Kirkwall, it was his father and Bethany. Being mages, it was just natural that they would spend a great deal of time together, with Malcolm teaching his children what they needed to know to protect themselves and manage their magic. Elias was fond of his little sister; he and Bethany got along well, and that could be attributed to their being the primary recipients of Malcolm’s jokes. They were close; when she died on the way out of Lothering, he became a stranger in his family. His mother, Amanda, Carver; they were his family, and he loved them, but they didn’t know him the way he wished they did. He was effectively isolated, and they didn’t even know it.
24. Who are the people your OC dislikes/hates?
He and Isabela just can’t see eye to eye. He’s a do-gooder, if his actions could result in unrelated and innocent people being hurt, he won’t do it. Isabela thinks he’s a goody two-shoes, and he won’t deny it if being honest and kind is being too good. He’s been accused of being easy to rope into help, too, and never for financial gain–another thing Isabela just cannot comprehend.
27. What are some things your OC admires about his/her soulmate?
Fenris has a resolve that Elias himself wishes he could have. He admires the way that Fenris has dedicated himself to righting the wrong done to him, but does try to keep him occupied during those quieter moments so that his drive for justice against Danarius doesn’t consume his every thought. Still, to be able to have that focus is admirable in itself, and it’s something Elias knows Fenris will one day be able to put to other use.
30. Did your OC participate in extracurricular activities, and if so, what were they?
Not sure how to answer this… Elias likes to write poetry. It isn’t very good poetry, mind you.
33. What subjects interested your OC?
He always had a fascination for the branches of magic that applied gravity and its pull; it had more oomph. That’s definitely why he specializes into Force magic.
36. What are your OC’s thoughts/opinions of his/her current profession?
he’s a professional apostate but it’s legal now
39. How does your OC handle anger?
Typically, pretty… well? Kind of. He doesn’t like to make anyone feel like something is their fault; unfortunately, he turns that anger inward, and blames himself for whatever went wrong. Now, if it’s something that another person very deliberately did and had dire consequences, he will try to remove himself from the situation for as long as he can in whatever capacity he can until he can give proper judgement without being clouded by anger.
42. What makes your OC happy?
When the people he loves and cherishes are all in his estate, chatting by the fire, or when they’re playing cards at the Hanged Man. Those moments of pure camaraderie, simple times like those where no lives are at stake and no danger is afoot.
45. What are some things that annoy your OC?
Uninformed claims and assumptions on his friends or on mages. He strongly disagrees with the Circle’s, and by extension the Chantry’s view on magic, and wants people to make judgements on him and his companions after they’ve gotten solid impressions. It hurts and bothers him to no end when people decide he is a menace for his magic–even if he’s there to help. (I don’t know if it helps that most people don’t know he’s a mage anyway)
48. What are some of your OC’s vices?
If he’s at the Hanged Man and knows that he has no commitments the following day, he will drink himself into the morning in Varric’s room. He will also crash in Varric’s room.
51. What are some of your OC’s morals?
If innocent people will be directly harmed by the action, he will refuse to take it. Templars are not innocent people, though, so they’re on a case-by-case basis.
54. Does your OC think with his/her head or heart?
Absolutely his heart. He’s not stupid, but he leads with his emotional responses more often than not. Except anger; he knows better than to act on his anger. Not like his twin…
57. What are some of your OC’s weaknesses?
He’s very sensitive. I wouldn’t say Elias is bad with criticism, just that he really takes it to heart. He tries so desperately to do right by everyone, but at the end of the day, he just can’t please everyone.
60. If your OC could change one thing about him/herself, what would it be?
Geez, uhm… it’s difficult, because he isn’t ashamed of his magic, but if it would have made his family’s life easier, he would change being a mage in a heartbeat. He feels responsible for so much of their suffering.
63. How does your OC display love?
Elias uses touch-based affection, so he’s a cuddler. He likes to hug his friends whenever they’re just. Chilling. He likes to lay on them (they usually will let him, too, because they love him.) and just nuzzle into their necks.
66. What is your OC’s favorite food?
He’s fond of sweeter foods, so any sort of sweet dessert type food, really.
69. What is your OC’s favorite kind of weather?
Rainy days! It always smells nice, and he likes to curl up by the fire with the family dog (named Baby by Amanda, shh) and read.
72. What is your OC’s favorite kind music (and song if there is one)?
Hm. How to answer this… I’ll say he likes listening to Orana play. She’s very good, getting better every day.
75. What is your OC’s favorite scent?
He really liked the perfume his mother started wearing once they got the estate back. He will neither confirm nor deny that he stole some on occasion because he liked the mixed floral smell.

Once Bitten, Twice Dead
Summary: It’s been two years since the beginning, and only five days since Clementine met them. But somehow, things got so much worse, and Carver was just the beginning. [Season 2 AU/canon divergent. New situations, characters, etc.] Chapter 7: Cassandra Truth. Author’s Note: I will be posting 1 chapter a day on Tumblr. Each chapter is already posted on AO3 and Fanfiction. I will resume posting on those 2 websites on October 1st, 2017. [Main Blog] [AO3] [FanFiction.Net]
"It wasn't a walker!" Clementine managed to choke out between the pain in her arm and the shock from being thrown and discarded on the ground. "P-please, it's from a dog!"
Pete narrowed his eyes at the still-panicking Luke, and then looked back at Clementine with the same look he'd had minutes before. "I didn't see a dog, Clementine." he spoke in a stern, but gentle voice. He opened his mouth to say something else, but was cut off by Luke.
"Come ON, kid!" Luke hollered, finally removing his hands from his forehead. "We just saw you with those lurkers back there!"
Clementine shook her head, trying to stop the flow of blood that had started up again from her arm. She had the urge to shout back at him, feeling completely overwhelmed, exhausted, and overall, done. "No, it wasn't from them!" she stammered. "It was from a dog – back at the campsite!" It was only after she said this that she realized they had no idea what she was referring to. She pointed back towards where they'd come from, and then to the right. "Please, just look at it! Please!"
Luke turned to her, eyes wide and eyebrows raised. "Yeah, and have you sink your teeth into Pete's neck? No way!"
Pete gave the younger man an incredulous look, and asked, "Wait, my neck? Why am I the one?"
"'Cause I don't know a dog bite from a mosquito bite from a lurker bite, man!"
"It's not –" Clementine began to say, but winced when a sharp pain seared through her wound. "- a walker bite. Please, just look at it…"
Luke simply stared at her as if she were insane, while Pete was quiet for a moment. He looked at her, then at Luke, and then over her head, in the distance. He then looked back down at her, and calmly said, "All right, let's have a look."
"Woah, hey – watch yourself." Luke responded, arms crossed. He noticed the glare on Clementine's face. "Hey, don't look at me like that! You're the one that's bit here, okay?" He turned, scanning their surroundings, with his back to both of them.
Pete knelt down next to her, carefully taking her arm. Though Clementine was unable to read his face, she knew he had to be in deep thought about this. Carefully, he rolled her bloodstained sleeve up; Clementine bit down on her lip to avoid crying out, and tried to push away the sick feeling that swept over her stomach as she looked down at her wound.
The bite was curved; Sam had bitten down with the teeth on the side of his mouth, after all. The darker red blood that had dried against her brown skin stood out immensely from the bite itself, which was a lighter red color the deeper it got – and man, did it look deep. The fresher blood was smeared every which way around the wound, but it still left it visible enough to see the outline.
"See?" Clementine asked Pete, nodding down towards the wound. She'd seen enough walker bites on people she cared about (and some she didn't) to know that the long, wide bite looked nothing like a smaller, much more rounded walker bite.
Luke turned, face softening only a bit, and asked, "Is… is it like she says?"
Looking up from Clementine, Pete informed him, "It could be a dog. It don't look that much like a lurker bite, though. It's hard to say." He looked back down at Clementine as her shoulders sagged in relief. "Where did this dog go? The one that did this."
"What does that matter, Pete?" came Luke's exasperated interjection. Pete didn't answer.
Clementine felt shame rise up in her. She'd left Sam impaled on those tent poles… how could she tell them that? But she had to be honest – Pete looked like the kind of person who valued honesty above everything else.
She shook her head, and muttered, "I think he's dead. I… left him there."
Luke gave her a confused glare. "What'd you mean? It attacked you and it let you just… walk away?" He was pacing now. "And then he up and died?"
Clementine shook her head again. Her entire body felt jittery, and her hands were trembling again. She could only hope that Pete and Luke wouldn't mistake the involuntary movements as nervous tics or signs of lying.
"I found him in the bushes," Clementine said quietly, looking between the two men. "His collar said his name was 'Sam', and he was near a campsite." Luke had stopped pacing, and was now completely focused on her. Pete looked up at the other man for a moment, then back at her. "I found a can of beans in the trashcan," Clementine looked down, feeling both stupid and judged. "He was whining – so I gave him some, but then he took the whole can."
Pete's facial expression changed suddenly, like he knew where Clementine was going with her story, but he let her continue.
"He attacked me when I took the can back." Clementine clenched her teeth, looking down at her arm. "I… I kicked him. He got stuck on these tent poles." She took in a deep breath, suddenly feeling lightheaded again. "I left him there."
Luke stared for a moment, beginning to connect the pieces. He grimaced. "You just… left him there? A dog shows up and bites you and you just leave him to die?"
Both Pete and Clementine gave Luke incredulous looks.
"What would you have done?" Pete asked, eyes narrowed.
Luke turned so his back was facing them. "I don't know!" He seemed almost taken aback by the question.
"He attacked me."
"Still! You don't…" Luke paused for a moment. His face dropped. "You don't kill dogs. Or… leave 'em like that."
Sighing, Pete turned back to Clementine, and looked back at the wound, and then up at Clementine, looking her straight in the eye. She felt the urge to look away, feeling almost… vulnerable in a way. "Clementine," he said in a stern, authoritative voice. She nodded to him as an acknowledgment. "You tellin' us the truth? You look me in the eyes when you answer."
She was telling the truth, she thought to herself. There was no need to be nervous. She was telling the truth, and if Pete's ability to tell when someone was lying was as good as it seemed, she should be okay? Right?
Clementine looked back up at him, and said as clearly as she could, "Yes, I am."
"All right, Clementine," said Pete after several seconds. "I believe you."
Luke tossed his head, looking annoyed. "Well, what else is she gonna say?"
Pete pulled a tan rag from his jacket pocket – it at least looked clean – and carefully pressed it against the dog bite. The fresh blood immediately soaked into the fabric, and though it stung, it did the job. He laid it over the wound, flat, and then took her other hand.
Though it took a moment, he helped her up to her feet, then applied pressure to her wound with the rag. Without looking up, he said, "I've got a good bullshit detector, Luke." He looked back to Luke for a moment, with a small smirk. "That's why you can never beat me at poker."
"You don't always –" Luke began, but then cut himself off, admitting defeat. "All right, how can we be sure?"
Clementine took the rag from Pete and held it to her arm the way he did. She pushed her sleeve up, feeling sudden pressure and pounding in her head. Though she was beginning to gain feeling back in her limbs, she didn't feel much better.
Pete grimaced. "Her story adds up, and the bite don't look too much like a lurker bite – and I know ain't willin' to leave a little girl in the woods to die when we've got a doctor with us who can make a call." Luke placed his hands on his hips, still looking skeptical. "We can get Carlos to take a look at it first."
Luke looked down at Clementine, whose expression of pain and discomfort hadn't changed, then back up to Pete. He sighed, "Nick ain't gonna like this – not with what happened t–"
"You don't have'ta remind me of that, boy."
"Right," muttered Luke, avoiding the gaze of either of them. "Sorry."
Pete gave him a pat on the shoulder, face softening. He looked down to Clementine, then to Luke, and said to both of them, "Come on."
Luke walked ahead of both of them. Pete followed, looking back to Clementine, then back to what was in front of them. Clementine could see a cabin through the trees, but only just. It looked decently sized; she just hoped, whoever these other people were, they were willing to share their space even temporarily.
Clementine slowed, now feeling herself swaying. Her grip on her arm and the bloodstained rag were loosened; the rag was close to falling from her grip, but she couldn't seem to clamp it down hard enough. Now that she was up again and walking, the numbness in her legs was beginning to come back, and every little movement felt faint and disconnected.
She looked down at the ground, which was beginning to look more and more comfortable as the seconds passed, and heard Pete ask, "Clementine, you feelin' all right?"
"… I'm fine… I'm just tired."
"You'd better be all right," said Luke. "'cause I ain't carryin' you anymore with that bite on your arm." Pete rolled his eyes at Luke's remark.
Her vision was blurring again. The corners of her vision were dark, and the darkness was only beginning to spread further and further. She couldn't focus. Her entire body was numb, and the one thing she wanted to do was sleep.
The ground rushed up to meet her.
