I'm rewatching episode five and there's just something about the way it's Echo that gets to reassure Omega she did the right thing by escaping Tantiss and what mattered was that she got out of there. It's like he knows she feels guilty about leaving the others behind and he knows she wants to do more, because he does too. It's a subtle nod to what he went through but also another little moment showing their dynamic and I love that.

I think a lot about how Magnus would transfer to a visual medium, but I really think about the idea of visually conveying certain characters in really specific ways.

Peter Lukas being a faceless character in Boatswain’s Call, and perhaps even I Guess You Had to Be There, until he really starts talking to Martin.

Elias having a slight animation difference/a little bit of CGI in his eyes so they just don’t look quite right.

Physically distancing Martin from others in shots and promotional materials just enough to be noticeable at first, until season four, where he only ever appears with Peter (and eventually John).

Promoting Sasha quite a bit ahead of season one, and still promoting “Sasha” that same amount for season two, never mentioning the fact that she’s animated completely differently/someone else had been cast.

Drabble: Western Danny

Lately I've been thinking a lot about mustachioed slightly blonde Daniel Brühl in a like 1860s transcontinental railroad brooding widow with a heart of gold kind of way...

Like keep his name Danny, there's something about that that suits him. He's widowed, maybe carrying the burden of his wife and son's deaths and looking to go west, build a new life.

And she's married to a horrible man, oh so charming at first, but awful as time goes on. At best, she's invisible to him. At worst, she's a target. And it's not until she meets Danny that she realizes how strong the ties that bind can be, how pure and hopeful love can be. Danny cares for her and her young daughter, protects them.

This is just a ramble, but it's being tucked away somewhere in a google doc

i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.

had a fucking hilarious dream that tumblr replaced the "block" function with the far funnier "glock" function, which did the exact same thing except whenever anyone blocked you a random bullet hole, like a png of a bullet hole, would appear on your blog. discourse blogs were unreadable bc you'd go to the page and the sheer amount of bullet hole pngs stacked over the blogs obscured everything. I woke myself up laughing

tw: Examples of reblog bait/people trying to guilt others into reblogging stuff. I am not actually saying the things below, they're just examples that I have seen.

I fucking hate when people say stuff like this. Especially when it's on a generally good post with valuable information. On the one hand I want to share that information because it could genuinely help someone; on the other, I don't want to spread this type of guilt-tripping and shaming and potentially trigger someone else like me. It's a lose-lose situation. No matter what I do, I am going to feel guilty. No matter what I do, I will feel like a terrible person. It sucks and I just wish people would stop doing this. I know it's shocking, but it is actually possible to make an important and useful post without guilting everyone that sees it into sharing.

- i kinda like that she ended up looking like a mother-of-pearl inlay lacquerware!

- oh this was a subconscious choice, but Gale is sitting in seiza which is a posture for showing respect especially to elders. it's also known to be a painful position to sit in for extended periods of time, which is why it was sometimes used as a method of (morally dubious) punishment. however, experienced people can maintain this posture for much longer. food for thought :-)

- (edit: deleted this point bcs it didn't really make sense + detracted from the art a little;;)
