So... Something happened that unfortunately killed my motivation :( For the last few days, I've just been scrapping prompt ideas but! I'm getting back and revising those to post for tomorrow! I ended up hoarding a bit which I'm actually happy for, I can queue them up to finally have a consistent posting :D Gonna be posting twice a week!

Also gonna be continuing the Swan Lake story too now that I'm getting back up, still struggling with ideas but hey, at least my motivation came back to pull through for it!

im so resentful of how no one is even talking about Selina in the main the batman tag. honestly she probably was the best iteration of her character I've ever seen. she was charismatic and charming and sly and she had a heart of gold. she had a thing about strays and loved the poor Russian girl who lived with her, loved her like nothing to the point where she actively defended her, stole things for her, and hunted for her when she was gone. upon finding her body she was devastated, but most importantly angry. she kept calling batman vengeance because batman is gotham and it's people and vengeance is what she wanted. Vengeance was want the people wanted for the state that they were in, and it's what she wanted. justice was the answer to one of the, if not the first riddle, and selina wanted the purest form of retribution. and when she was able to find out what happened to her mom her fury became something like long fossilized devastation and grief. she had nine lives. She spared Carmines, her fathers (imagine having to live in silence with that for years. knowing her saw you and also knowing he didn't know you saw him for what he was.) She's a watcher, and when she sees batman struggling she helps. She has a soft spot for strays struggling to find their place. She visits her mother's grave before she leaves the city forever, and oh my god if she asked me I would have left no question are you kiddingg. batman rlly said Celibacy W. there's just so much in her character, she's endlessly fascinating and it's so disappointing to me that she hasn't been explored or even talked about as much as the riddler ://

gonna drop a silly little happy auau idea i had since its prob gonna be a while until i feel pog enough to actually draw it- ujhhhhh ok so like, metal is an active threat in Happy Auau, swearing vengeance on Sonic and Co (Shadow, Silver, Tails, and ghost Knuckles) after they whooped his ass back to mobius (he has completely dominated the Sol until they arrived, also omg hi blaze!!) So obv Metal is a lil pissy about having all his work ripped out from under him by his horrible flesh counterpart, after he HAD ALREADY WON. So hes trying to fucking kill the shit out of them, for real this time. Hes causing so much terror that sonics the one to put forward the notion that they need to shut him down for good, which is how u know its serious sdbhfhjds. its been a long time since sonics had a real rival challenge him like metal, and part of him wants to keep the adrenaline and fight- but as a wise(r) old man he knows that metal is too much of a greater danger to a kingdom hes trying to protect. Metals also REALLY been getting on his fucking nerves. lmao the gang are collectively trying to come up with a way to shut him down for good, a way theyre positive they cant come back from, but mfer keeps escaping containment, so thats a whole other problem anyway, shadow has (in his opinion) a brilliant idea and he doesnt tell anyone BSHFHBD. so he takes the 7 chaos emeralds and inbeds them into sonics crown, and puts it on him in the middle of the night hes trying to mind control sonic BHJSABHJDSBHJDHBJ and it works!!! next morning sonics head is fucking EMPTY

so shadow, in typical fashion decides to see how far he can take this! bc he is a strange strange man. i think it turns into real comedic shit like shadow has him put on like. the MOST emo thing hes got in his closet. makes him say no to being offered a chili dog, makes him tell tails hes Cringe!!!! the funniest one to me is shadow using this to make sonic fawn over him bc shadow can never get enough ego boosting!! i wanna have sonic break the mind control over the actual DUMBEST reason, smth rlly goofy like shadow tells him to call him "the coolest" either way after it breaks uhhh shadow gets fucking werehog punched thru a wall!!!! sonics fucking SEETHING. like steam is coming outta the mans ears. shadow is COMPLETELY unfazed and ive been rotating dialogue in my brain along the lines of 'took you long enough' or 'its about time' they start an actual fight (its mostly just shadow gracefully and nonchalantly dodging whatever attacks sonic sends his way) and sonic is chewing him out for Whatever The Fuck that was. Shadow casually explains that sonic is the only person he knows with as strong a passion for freedom as him, making him the most resistant to any kind of control, he would put up the strongest fight against it like no other, and if it works on sonic, then its likely to forcefully work on Metal if the need arises. sonic begrudgingly accepts the reasoning but keeps fighting with shadow anyway to work the anger off sdbfhsbhdfhs bc hes still pretty livid about the whole thing anyway heehoo silly stuff spinning in my brain in mach 10 speed

So both of these ideas were drawn on a total whim, I forget what I was listening to at the time but I’m pretty sure they were both vaguely spurred into creation by some songs,, idk I’m very vague I’m sorry

Anyway here we go, I’ll give some doodles and a brief explanation of the au ideas behind them

-

AU 1: The Eclipse AU

An AU where, instead of being hired to upgrade Sun/Moon, Reader is hired to try and fix/make-friendly-or-profitable-enough-to-warrant-keeping an animatronic one of the previous hires had been secretly Frankensteining into existence. They, of course, are completely unaware of Eclipse’s menacing vibes and are absolutely enamored with him- which Eclipse absolutely does not understand. Idk what the plot would be but yea that’s it that’s the whole concept shdghdjshs

AU 2: The Afton-Virus AU (god these doodles are barely comprehensible I am so sorry)

In this AU, Reader sort of,, takes on the role of Vanny, I guess? This one is more fleshed out, bare with me

Reader is hired by Fazbear Co. to be a technician/ animatronic upgrade and upkeep handler, this time in a reality where all the horrible stuff that happened in Fazbear’s co. canonical history did in fact happen. Their workplace is far from ideal, one step away from a massive lawsuit-

And, of course, Reader gets into a horrible accident that costs them the use of their hands- and, consequently, their entire livelihood. They are traumatized and mangled, all of their dreams have been snuffed out in an eighth of a second, and how does FazCo respond? They offer Reader a large sum of money if they’ll just leave quietly and never mention the accident to anyone for as long as they live. In a moment of outrage, Reader makes a counteroffer- they’ll never tell anyone about the accident if they are allowed to keep working as the lead technician at the PizzaPlex. Reluctantly, FazCo. agrees, not believing Reader will be able to do anything useful but REALLY not wanting a lawsuit.

Digging deep into FazCo’s history, Reader uncovers more and more about the grisly reality of the company’s past- but also more and more about the strange and sometimes horrific concepts applied to the animatronics. Using some of this knowledge, they manage to build a set of gloves(?)/devices that help them recover the use of their hands- but they don’t inform anyone of their invention, and FazCo’s carries on with thinking they are majorly useless.

The more they had dug into the company’s past, the more outraged Reader had become at the blatant neglect and injustice FazCo had inflicted on people over the years. The more they dug, the more a brainworm- a virus, even- squirmed it’s way into their mind-

An idea of vengeance.

Over the course of months, maybe years, they play the long con on the people of FazCo and the pizzaplex, slowly altering and changing the animatronics into friends that will aid them in their vigilante style quest

Over this time, the animatronics all become very attached to Reader- but none more so than Sun and Moon- and Reader becomes equally attached to them. Reader sees them all as innocent bystanders caught in FazCo’s dark and grisly web, all helplessly manipulated and poisoned by the company itself.

They wreak their vengeance on the staff of the PizzaPlex, not on the attendees- only ever targeting old and jaded members of management they believe are profiting off of the blood and grief and hardship of everything FazCo has done. They are unsuspected, seen only as the unfortunately clumsy and harmless repairman, and they are keen on making sure none of the animatronics are suspected either.

Do they kill the members of FazCo management, or do they find ways to mutilate and ruin THEIR lives the way they had for so many others? Who knows! Not me

Anyway that’s the gist of that one, sorry it’s so wordy hhfbfgdhdghsjs,, I hope u guys find these (dumb and entirely brain-dead self indulgence inspired concepts) a little interesting at least, sorry for rambling sjdhdhdjsbshsb

THANK YOU FOR THE ASK I LOVE RAMBLING ABOUT MY SILLY THOUGHT PROCESS BEHIND MY WRITING WOOOOOOO!

You cannot believe the restraint I had to put on myself to not share anything about my progress on this story before it was published. I had the initial idea post and the 'man I really wanna write about this now' reblog but that was mainly it (except for the one time I shared the tiniest tidbit of a sentence using funny wordplay, but I never clarified what it was for). Otherwise, there were absolutely no previews cause I knew that practically anything could've been a dead giveaway for the plot. I didn't wanna soil the potential surprise, so I forced myself to keep it under lock n key. I had zero idea what the reception for this fic would be like, so I'm very glad to see it paid off and got some fun reactions! It's cool to hear that you got some re-readability outta it, too!

Also, I'll let ya in on the underlying theme of this story that I haven't seen anyone bring up yet. So, as we all know, Yomi sics his goons on anyone that opposes him, keeping his pristine record of not laying a hand on a single corpse. But in this fic, Yomi actually takes initiative and dirties himself up! Well... not exactly. He's in the body of Vivia, after all. He puppeteered the detective to seek vengeance for the betrayal that sealed his fate during the Blank Week. Yomi, original and homunculus, has always painted the blood of his enemies on someone else's hands.

I’m still waiting to treat myself and buy the TPB version!! It sets up events of Shadowpact, is only about 6 issues long, and is SO entertaining.

2. Shadowpact

Too good. I’m still not finished but I WILL also buy copies of this run.

3. JLD 2018/Witching Hour event

95% I recommend for Khalid bc I love him, and in general I really like the vibe between everyone, and it carries forward in other works after this too. THE LORE IS ALSO RLLY COOL ICL

4. The Coven of Three storyline (Teen Titans 2003 #83-87)

PLEASE READ THIS ONE!! 😭🥺 ITS SO GOOD AND MAKES ME EMOTIONAL FR. Basically Zachary, Traci, and Lori all get stuck in alternate realities where they’re happy and get their wishes, but it’s not real and they have to break out. It’s so heartwrenching, especially with Lori.

OTHER:

1. Zatanna: Everyday Magic

I don’t 100% agree with its portrayal of JohnZee but it’s a fun, quick nonsensical read and I love Zee a lot. It’s like a glimpse into her chaotic life outside of and regarding the cape community.

2. Black Adam 2022

NOT TOTALLY A MYSTIC STORY but I love Malik so so so so much, so I recommend this to everyone. The actual writing is a bit of a mess because apparently the writer was promised a 25-issue run, but they told him last minute it was 12 💀

Note: I recommend Hellblazer but it’s been a hot minute and I never finished it, so I will be getting back in and I’ll post more about that soon.

How differently would MC have turned out if Luka rlly couldnt convince grandpa to let him keep us?

Interesting, I’ve never really thought about this AU 🧐 One thing that immediately comes to mind is that MC will be more ruthless. Even for “merciful” MCs, they might feel a little bad or remorse at having to kill someone, but they won’t hesitate to do so if ‘necessary’ or if ordered so. And not only kill in literal sense, but also kill in the sense of ruining someone’s life completely is included as well.

Because of this, I feel like most MCs will also be focusing more on vengeance instead of justice, and even if some MCs choose justice, their perception of it might be really warped and different from the story MC’s view of what justice is.

They would’ve gotten way more involved in the Family business as well, since Grandpa will have easier time grooming and guiding them directly to become the next head of the Family, especially since MC would also be living with him in New York, currently the centre of power where the main branch of the family is.

So, there’ll be really small chance of MC becoming a Vigilante or Superhero or anything else, really. Unless they pull another ‘Viktor’ stunt, but Grandpa would make sure to not let it happen twice, no matter what.

Some MCs, especially stoic MCs, might become a bit colder, as well, since the only people they’ll have most contact and connection with are their grandparents, and later on, only Grandpa, and Grandpa is kinda an emotionally constipated person as well 😆 Having emotional supports from both Ash and Luka, the two people they’ve really become attached with, really help current MC.

maybe i should start doing these monthly…

nanowrimo

november was…smth 😭

it was definitely a little stressful, but it was rlly fun at the same time to see how my ideas developed over a short period of time, and the prospect of writing as soon as i got home gave me something to look forward to outside of my classes

but i also learned that it’s better to just WRITE instead of trying to make sure everything is perfect, especially since 1) i’m writing for myself and 2) it’s just the first draft, so there’s no real need for it to be great and honestly that just helped me get out of my head

for anyone who has requested prompts from october to november: i promise they will all be up before christmas i just haven’t had the time lately with exams and stuff

sorry it’s been over a month y’all i’ll be back on my grind soon 😅

wips

for anyone interested in any of my wips, there’s a lot of confusion, changes and updates, so here they are:

taste of vengeance—a LOT has changed, but the general premise is the still same. i just added a few new characters, a couple of side conflicts, and changed the climax of the story so yeahhh that’s fun

there’s also a few extra scenes, especially between Victor and Elias, so i’m really excited to fully flesh those out

lovers to strangers—i’ve been working on it on the side while i wrote taste of vengeance and i just realized im actually closer to being done with it than i thought (current goal is 60k words and im at 40k) so im extremely happy about that

but i’m also kinda conflicted between making it a fully-fleshed out drama/romance story, a pure slice-of-life story, OR just a mix of both, so like some chapters would be long and serious and others would just be a series of mundane moments

idk yet i’ll figure it out soon enough though

2083—i haven’t actually done much with this one besides get the general plot done, but im still happy

now that i think about it, november was a lot more productive than i thought it was initially 😭

Is a similar reason with nonsensical Cinderella and Aurora hate

All 3 are criticized with being ' too soft ' by a number of haters

Yet here is a thing

Some of the seemingly softest people are the strongest

Soft does not mean weak

And FYI, Cosette literally helped Marius recover from the June Rebellion

And is literally a reason why Marius' life is saved in the June Rebellion

Cosette rlly is an MVP right there

Alongside with being a symbol of hope, and a number of other things

And it's baffling to see some people think Raoul is ' too vanilla '

Yeah yeah, he may be more ' vanilla ' in the POTO musical, but he is defo NOT weak or pathetic

And in the POTO book, Raoul is WAY more hard core than he is in the POTO musical

And a number of Christine haters stem from them being Phantom x Christine shippers ( like.....why?! )

Some people also think Christine is ' too soft '

Um

Considering what happened to Christine, no wonder Christine wants to get away from Phantom ASAP and wants him dead or gone as much as Raoul does

It's just that Christine does whatever she can to maintain Raoul's safety and help keep Raoul's darker side in check, and Raoul learns to not be lost in the deep throes of vengeance

And Christine became an icon in Sweden and France AND an emblem of abuse survivors rising above darkness FOR A NUMBER OF REASONS

ive decided to talk amongst a topic that im very pationate ab so today im gonna be telling all the times ive realized pretty privilege is real

before I begin when u are conventionally unattractive just u minding ur own business and being friendly annoys others its like your the annoying mosquito they've been dying to kill but they haven't been able too

when I first realized pretty privilege existed is when I saw some of my more conventionally attractive friends did things that when I did them they were deemed annoying

and people never wanna admit that bc they contribute to it

I simply stated that I wanted to become a lawyer and the guy behind me found that funny real funny but my pretty friend States that she doesn't wanna work and that's being a 'bad bitch"

im also gonna include the topic of misogyny

there was a guy in my class who loved making dirty jokes and everybody put up with it and laughed but when I did it(a girl)it was deemed as weird and when I asked they said "its expected from him"like its not a secret I enjoy dirty jokes

SCREW SOCIETY for the conventionally unattractive people the biggest revenge is not caring, smile,be respectful bc if there's one thing people hate is a nice person

u could be the kindest in the world and the bullies will always get there way

last year I spent the whole time with the "I can't wait to get my vengeance on all of u"mindset and it doesn't rlly work the only way u can be at peace is by just ignoring them those people are either a)extremely miserable with there own lives or b)aren't gonna end up nearly as successful as they hope

General opinion/How much I care about them:

tron as a character is very interesting, his arc with his children and his vengeance was just so amazing to see unfold. such a toxic father, once loving just using his kids for his gain is just so depressing to see. seeing a man crawl back through dimensions, space, and time to just unleash hell onto everyone was so miserable and horrible to see.

i always think about how yuma said: "your sons finally have you back, and you use them." something like that, and that other line: "in the end, they were worried about you." (something like that again).

his arc hits so hard, i feel for his children. it feels realistic, and how they turned out also feel so real. everything about his character was so dynamic, 3d, and just so interesting to see. i always revisit that arc because of the amazing duels, dialogue, and angst. it's such an amazing arc.

i care about him in a sense that he was a very interesting character. he personally isn't my blorbo, but he is definitely one of my fave villains/redeemed characters. i love zexal, i love how they wrote a horrible father.

A ship I love:

Kazuma/Byron/Mirai... i think they would be a very funny throuple. i think byron's attraction started towards mirai, then it extended to kazuma bc he's buff as hell AND great with kids. byron def wanted to hold hands with them both, he's such a disaster LMAO.

A non-romantic relationship that I love:

non-romantic,,,, like i guess with him a faker? i rlly don't know, him and kazuma's frienship was also very nice.

My biggest headcanon about them:

byron has been married 3 times, and he's been divorced 3 times. each of the arclights have different mothers. he divorced his last wife, michael's mom. but the other two? they divorced him.

i hc him to be like... a not so good husband at times, but a better father. i feel like he makes commitments he can't keep.

also this isn't a hc but, he always liked video games. but none of his kids do. hc part: he tried to bond with his kids with video games.... but it never worked.

An idea for a fanfiction I would like to write/read about them:

one thing i've been wanting to write is like, scenes from the arclight childhood. back when everyone was happier. maybe when byron was homeschooling them, or even playing with them all. just scenes of the arclights being a happy family

(im running out of denandras screenshots so apologies if i have posted this one before.)

Q1: GENERAL: Where can your Tav be recruited? Are they first encountered on the Nautiloid, or in the Nautiloid crash region? Or are they not recruitable until a later act?

Denandras is tadpoled, but not a crash survivor. He's also a cleric (and a trickery domain cleric at that), and given how BG3 doesn't rlly like class duplicates except for druids, he'd probably be recruited in the Shadow-Cursed lands. The goblins would have assumed he was working with Minthara, someone Denandras had almost certainly heard of, and he would've bolted at the soonest opportunity. This would have taken him to the Shadow-Cursed Lands far earlier than the players, and he's probably been working at Last Light in a similar capacity to Isobel. His goddess, Eilistraee, has a lot of ties to the moon, similarly to Selûne. He and Isobel probably would've gotten on well, with him going out in search of help while she held down the fort at Last Light, or maybe even doing espionage missions at Moonrise due to his status as a Seldarine Drow. He can be recruited during your first night at camp after the attack on Last Light, where he shows up unannounced, looking for Isobel- or, if Isobel was killed, seeking vengeance.

Q16: STORY: How do they react to the Dark Urge killing Alfira?

Though he wasn't present to meet Alfira in Act 1, he would probably find out through banter, once the rest of the party learns of his past as an entertainer. Despite not having known her, he would express sympathy for the Dark Urge because they were not in control of their own body, and for Alfira, since a performer's life is hard and often short enough as it is. If the player is not the Dark Urge and Alfira is alive in the Last Light Inn, a cutscene would trigger where Alfira offers to play music while Denandras dances.

Duke Thomas - who’s surprised 😭 no but he’s without a doubt my fave bat. i think there are just so many inspiring things about him, and he represents the aspect of comics I love most - stepping up and doing what’s right even when all odds are against you

Carol Ferris - I used to talk about her 24/7 when I was heavy in my GL phase, but I never stopped loving her. I love that she’s deeply flawed and angry and passionate, and she gets to be messy. Also she influenced me to be more comfortable expressing myself femininely which was hard as a brown girl ngl anyways carol <333

Ollie Queen - LMAO idk why but I feel so cliche putting him, but he’s my favorite Arrow and he always has been. I relate to him a lot. He’s really introverted, in his own head despite being is outspoken, he loves nature, cares deeply, and he isolates when he’s sad. I also like his very black-and-white thinking, esp when it gets challenged. live laugh love ollie queen

Talia Al Ghul - I won’t say much about her lmao bc talia stans are like sharks here, but she is also very important to me. Like you ever get that character that just seizes your heart???? Yeah that’s Talia for me 🥺 i don’t post abt her often either, but i love her sm

Khalid Nassour - it’s hell being his fan, but i’ll do it anyways 😭 so Khalid is rlly interesting bc i read his “cool” appearances first then read Dr Fate 2015 where he was more of an annoying 22 yr old. And it was so satisfying watching him grow from someone who was more narrow-minded and whitewashed to an intelligent, capable, and enlightened person. I really enjoy his character’s spin on what fate means in regards to one’s identity, heritage, lifestyle, and faith.

Top 5 comic series (THIS IS ALSO HARD OMG)

Day of Vengeance - this is the one currently living rent free in my head rn bc it’s so FUNNY and random, but also a really interesting storyline in regards to magic in the DCU. It’s just so enjoyable watching this group of mystics handle the hugest threat ever and barely get along, and they’re all weird, and then Lori joins and she’s like the group teenager and it’s so funny

We Are Robin - I honestly wish it was longer ngl but I really wanted to see more of the group together and their stories, especially Izzy and Dre. The premise and duration of this story is SO dear to me bc ofc Duke, but also I love watching kids band together against authorities bc they love their city sm.

Batman: Son of the Demon - as a Talia and sometimes Brutalia fan, how can I not 😭 It’s so sad and actually heartwrenching how happiness was so close to them but taken away, and how much Bruce and Talia sacrificed for each other because they are both loving people, they just love in the wrong way

Green Arrow: The Longbow Hunters - perfect Ollie. Perfect depiction of his mind. Really good storytelling. SHADOOOOO she served cunt and dc didn’t like that so they ruined her. Green Lantern: Blackest Night - OKAY THIS IS THE ONE I WAS AFRAID OF SHARING 😭 I’m SORRY i love this for so many reasons, nostalgia mostly bc I re-read it over and over again at the peak of my hal obsession era idk why, I like the giant white entity, I like when all the Corps leaders have to team up and they’re all side-eyeing each other sm, and I also love when random heroes get involved and help save the day like Mera, Ray, Barry, Diana, Grant, watching them all try to survive it while battling grief in front of them. It is NOT THE BEST GL COMIC EVER but it’s one of my faves.
