Can only imagine his Selkie mother fell in love with Shido, but in a classic turn of Selkie events he stole her coat and abandoned her when she was pregnant. After that baby Goro was raised in a brothel until his mother died, and then off he went to the streets. Goro grew to hate humans, but due to his lack of exposure to his Selkie brethren, didn't have any connection to the ocean either. Left with no consolidation, he vowed to find the man that inadvertently killed his mother and steal her coat back any means necessary.
