Book Review #1: In Order to Live
I had the wonderful opportunity to read "In Order to Survive" by Yeonmi Park.
This book was so riveting, emotional, inspiring, and overall, an experience that I wish I could read all over the again. I don't want to give too much away because I genuinely believe that everyone should experience reading this book because it really shows the true meaning of survival and what it takes to survive. I found myself being more mindful and grateful of all small things that I used to neglect. For example, the water heater at the place I am staying had turned off, meaning cold showers. At first, I was bummed because taking cold showers during the coldest time of the year was not my ideal situation, but I found myself thinking back Yeonmi's story and how she went DAYS without even a single quick scrub and that instantly changed my mood around. I was still bummed of course, but I was grateful that at least I was able to shower despite the water being cold. It was that small instant where I could've made a big deal out of a small situation or turn over a new leaf and remind myself that there are so many people who don't have the luxury to simply take a shower whether it's cold or not. This book is beyond inspiring, and I recommend anyone and everyone to read this beautiful book.

23 | F | USA | Bookish College Student Looking for Friends!
I have recently found that I am awful at making friends and keeping them - my work/school schedule is super busy and I don't always have the time to meetup/text back...so Internet friends it is!
I had a penpal once in elementary school and I miss the excitement of checking the mailbox (I usually open my mailbox while cringing - adult bills aren't fun, y'all). I'm hoping that I can find a new penpal here! I'm looking for someone near my age (20-25), female, and within the United States - sorry international pals! Postage is crazy right now! However, I'm not opposed to exchanging emails, so maybe that can work for my international friends?
Anywho...more about me!
My name is Ezraine (I go by Ez, Ezzie, or Ezzie Mae), I'm 23, and I'm in graduate school. I work at my mom's friend's indie bookstore in a small town in Texas. I pass the time experimenting with new coffees and tea, processing book orders, and reminding people how cool indie bookstores are compared to chain bookstores.
I would love to say that I have a green thumb, but I'm quickly losing a bunch of my plant babies due to the extreme heat here. Luckily, my cactus is doing well.
I pretend that I live in the 80s and 90s, with a mixture of the 70s thrown in there for good measure. You can catch me at the thrift store on any given Saturday morning. I guess you could also say that I love gardencore and grandmacore? I am currently teaching myself to cross-stitch and there's nothing I love more than reruns of my favorite shows and being in bed by 9:30.
Feel free to send me a chat or a message if you think we're compatible!

Paul’s Awesome English Dictionary – Today’s Word: Boook
Sometimes a word is so useful and necessary that it had been crying in the ether to be coined. Once used, we all wonder, “It’s so obvious now. How do we ever get along without that word?”
In today’s blog, we celebrate such an occurrence.
We are talking about the truly scary book. Or
