Listen. Aizawa may come off as cold and apathetic, but that doesnt mean he doesnt have a heart. he has a big one, he just doesnt want to give it away easily.

Aizawa is not one to fall for someone the second he sees them. It takes him a lot of time, especially in noticing that he actually is interested in someone. He needs to know what kind of person they are before even thinking about starting a relationship with anyone.

But how is he supposed to not fall for you? The first time his heart skipped a beat was when he saw how caring you are towards your students, trying your best to encourage them and getting the best out of them. You seem like you genuinely enjoy teaching the kids, and he cant help but smile a little, hiding half of his face in his scarf.

He probably didnt even realise he liked you, it was Present Mic who caught him looking at you a few seconds longer than usually.

"Oh Come on, are you ever gonna invite them somewhere after school? Do you want to spend the rest of your life alone in here without even trying once? Did you try talking to th-?"

"Yes." He cut him off, trying to keep this conversation as short as possible.

You two talked a lot, especially since you are working as a teacher, taking care of class 1C. Well.. "talking".

He would be deep in his thoughts, thinking about what to say without scaring you off. And he is incredibly bad at keeping a conversation going between the two of you, killing it midway because he doesnt know what to say. He is just not skilled with words.

If anyone wants really good MHA anime analysis, I 100% recommended checking out The Custodians, A Goodwin TV, Semblance of Sanity because they all have really insightful theories being anime onlyies and really hit the nail on the head every time. Also they’re just so entertaining to watch. They really try and think about MHA’s themes and don’t just take things at surface level like a lot of anime onlyies do for pure reaction.

'I love how there’s basically no reason for AFO being the way he is.'

But.

But there is a reason? We were literally shown it in this chapter?

A kid having to survive literally from the moment of it's birth, and somehow not only managing to do exactly that, but also being able to keep his weaker twin alive as well. Having to chew on the corpse of their mother not to starve. Not only no food, no proper clothes, no home, no names, but also no parents, no adults, no socialisation, no protection in the world where people with quirks are feared, hated, and seen as 'infected', no one to properly socialise him or tell him 'no' or explain why he can't have something, no one to teach him what caring or affection is, no anything. Literally just him and his brother together their entire childhood. Taking. Providing. Taking. Killing the danger. Taking. Because you have nothing and no one (except for this one little useless thing you do not really understand why you are keeping alive and taking it with you everywhere, but it's the only your thing you had since your birth and you don't want to be alone).

Y'all really think that Horikoshi would just drop the ball with the themes of storytelling, and AFO wanting to be seen as a character, and the dangers of dehumanisation and the idea that quirks made people 'evil'? That one Tartarus guard who said that villains are not entirely human and more like animals was wrong, but not about this one guy in particualar, I guess! /s

P.S. Yoichi having normal clothes and even shoes while AFO wears a garbage bag. Protruding ribs visible. A hungry baby screaming for a mother’s (corpse’s) comfort, but learning that no one will respond to his cries, so he has to claw and bite and use force.

i really appreciate how everyone looks pretty chill except for Hawks who seems to be in the middle of an existential crisis.

Also, I am very curious about what they’re watching. I hope it’s All Might and AFO debating something.

Pilot: “Oh, she is recovering at the hospital. I am pretty sure she would already be out of there if they hadn’t put her in the same room as her ex, a former pro hero that just got out of prison.”
