“I’m so sorry about Suki.” Y/n mumbled, a little embarrassed as she sat in the chair Shinsou pulled out for her. The purple haired man simply chuckled, giving her shoulder a soft squeeze as he scooted her chair in. “I’m not worried about it Princess. He’s your best friend, of course he’s going to give me the shovel talk.” He hummed, taking his seat. “I hope you don’t mind, but I made arrangements earlier this morning. I already got a list of your preferences and your favorites from Bakugo.” Shinsou mumbled, shyly, hoping Y/n didn’t think he was some over stepping douche. Y/n smiled sweetly, reaching her hand out to lay a top his own. “That’s very thoughtful Hitoshi, no one outside of my friends have ever done something like that before.” She stated assuredly. 

Shinsou gulped, turning his hand over to link his fingers with her own. “I wanted to do something nice for you. Because you’re gorgeous and awesome and you deserve all the nice things done for you.” He stated, giving her hand a squeeze as their server set down their drinks. “That’s very sweet of you to say.” Y/n replied, reaching out with her free hand to grab her glass. “I’ve actually never been here before.” she replied, taking a sip of her wine. “I know, I wanted to take you somewhere you’ve never been for our first official date.” Shinsou declared, giving her hand a squeeze as he reached out to take a sip from his own glass. Setting his glass down, Shinsou reached out to take hold of her other hand, giving them both a squeeze. “I know, that I might not be the ideal guy you want to spend forever with, forever is a long time; and I can’t predict the future, and it sounds scary and I know how much you’ve been hurt bef-” “Toshi, you’re rambling.” Y/n whispered, her grin wide as he blushed pink. “I am, sorry, you just...you make me so fucking nervous and it kind of scares the shit out of me in a good way, ya know?” He asked, as Y/n nodded. “You make me nervous sometimes too.” she assured, giving his hands a squeeze. “I know I’m not much, but I know I can make you happy, if you let me. I want to date you. I want to get to know everything I can about you.” Y/n let out a little breath, as Shinsou squeezed her hands reassuringly. “I want you to give me the chance to show you, just how much I can love you.” He replied, eyes full of hope and voice full of nerves. 

Y/n looked down at their joined hands, her thoughts a bit jumbled, as she tried to process what Shinsou had requested. In any other scenario, she would have turned tail and run. She’d never been a big fan of fully committed relationships. Her family had the worst track record, and the only stable ones she knew of, she felt were too far out of her grasp. Looking up, she saw the hope in Shinsou’s eyes, and the little quiver in his lip as he waited for her answer. Something inside of Y/n bloomed, as she nodded her head excitedly, tears pooling at the cusp of her eyelids. “I would love to give you a chance Hitsohi.” She whispered, heart thrumming at the wide smile that broke out on the mans face. With a loud whoop, Shinsou reached over to cradle her face between his hands. Gently, he swooped down, slotting his lips against her own, and humming, as he pressed a heavy, yet chaste kiss to her lips. “I promise you won’t regret it princess.” He whispered against, her lips, winking as he moved back to his seat. Y/n could only laugh, fanning her face as she tried to calm herself down. 

“Bakugo reminded me of the time I gave Iida the shovel talk, years ago.” Shinsou supplied, launching into a story about how he discovered the bespectacled man was in love with the village idiot. The two of them spending the evening enjoying good company, swapping stories, and basking in this journey they were ready to take together.

-Y/n did kiss Shinsou goodnight, with Shoto and Katsuki peaking through the peephole like the good besties they are. Shinsou could not wipe the grin off his face if he tried. After dropping Y/n off, he called his family to gush about Y/n and how their date went. Y/n did the same, her squad already waiting for her arrival. Denki could not be more proud of Shinsou and so so so happy for two of his favorite people in the world.
