Not Everything Has Changed
Bernard x trans!reader - mlm
Tumblr media
ah- so this is my first Bernard x reader!! i hope you all enjoy. i wanted to say how this could take place in 90s-2000s but its definitely more of a modern kinda au as it has progress trans ideas (Character is on T)
summary - The reader hasn't visited the North Pole since the fateful Christmas his dad became Santa. Turns out coming home for the holidays is easy to do, even with unspoken feelings, if it means coming home to Bernard.
enjoy!! merry bernard season!! I hope this man never finds this.
Scott Calvin, the man you called your dad and the rest of world calls Santa, has been delivering presents to kids all over the world for about 3 years now. 3 years ago Charlie woke you up from your bed cause he heard clattering on the roof, 3 years ago you found yourself freaking out about how you killed Santa, and 3 years ago you found your tripping over your feet as your father fought with the north poles head elf about how he wasn't Santa. A lot has changed in 3 years. Scott moved to the north pole for good, still being allowed visitation rights. Neil and Scott had grown to respect each other, he comes for dinner on thanksgiving each year. Your dad and mom have to bribe your little brother Charlie to not fuss about how he cant just skip school all December to stay in the North Pole.
However the biggest change was how your once bittersweet family grew into a warm and loving one, though it certainly did help. 3 years ago, you were a scared 17 year old who had the wrong name. you had the wrong face and hair, you weren't yourself. Now, you were closer than before. 2 years ago you had come out to your family about being trans and they welcomed you with loving arms as their son. It was a new playing field for everyone and it was easy forever at first, it still isn't; However, everyone tries their best and that's all you could ever ask for. Neil helped with it a lot, you respected him a lot more after he helped explain to everyone what you felt. Neil works with a lot of trans youth and when you came out, he was a great comfort. Scott had a hard time with it, not cause he didn't believe in it or didn't like it but because you never hold him. You're dad and you had always been close, so it hurt him that you didn't tell him first thing when you found out. You were young though, didn't know who to say it.
You were 19 now, Charlie had just turned 11. It was hard for him when you went away for college, you moved out of state and hadn't come back for Christmas the first year cause of a horrible blizzard. Charlie was better now, especially when he found out how you were coming home for a whole basically 2 months. College had eased up and you hadn't been home in awhile, so you decided that talking to your teachers getting about lecture notes ahead of time and taking your midterms early was the best idea.
You had come home the Friday before thanksgiving, tired and jet lagged from the long red eye you took home. Yet when you saw Charlie running down your mom's stairs hug you, ever ounce of energy came back. You spent that first few days before thanksgiving doing Charlie's favorite things and when thanksgiving rolled around, Charlie was still buzzing with energy.
"Dad- Dad! We'll have to show Y/N the new invention's added to the sleigh! And the- the new ice skating rink!" Bouncing up and down in his sit, Charlie explained all the new things that had been added to the North Pole since the last time you had been there.
"Y/N! It's so cool! We have a new ice skating rink that circles like the whole village!" Charlie went on, leaving his turkey untouched as you listened intently. Even if none else was listening cause they were to busy talking about the ending football season, you were there to listen all of Charlie's new favorite places and things about the North Pole. Plus you really did love ice skating, so you didn't mind his excitement.
"Really? all around the North Pole?" You asked intently before going to grab your drink.
"No- not the whole North Pole! The North Pole is huge! Just Christmas Town!" Charlie corrected you, still bouncing up and down with excitement. Laura, Neil, and Scott had previously decided that Charlie and you could leave thanksgiving night with your dad- as long as Charlie had good grades, which he did, and did his work at the North Pole.
It felt weird going back to the North Pole, you had been a completely different person when you first touched down in the workshop. You weren't too worried though, you had Charlie. When you came out to Charlie he didn't really understand right away. Overtime though Charlie saw you as his brother who he loved with all his heart, and you loved him just as much.
"Alright!" Scott barked from the living room before rolling into the kitchen where you and Charlie had been, his hand on his lower back as if he had just finished stretching. It had taken time getting used to seeing your dad with bright white locks and a matching bread, he cheeks rosier from the cold weather he had grown to love, but your dad was happier now than ever. Wouldn't be to good if Santa Claus was jolly.
"Who is ready to head up North?" Scott asked with wide grin that only caused Charlie to jump out of his chair and run to grab his coat, happiness radiating off of him.
"He hasn't changed one bit." you hummed. It wasn't a bad thing. No, it wasn't a bad thing at all. You were glad Charlie never lost his love for the Holidays, the love for Santa.
"No, no he hasn't!" Your dad smiled down at you before letting out a breath of contentment, "Y'know, you haven't changed at all either, Y/N." You looked to him with a knowing smile. Scott always got you and you always got him, like father like son.
"You know who hasn't changed at all either?" You threw your dad a cocky grin.
"Who?"
"Neil!" You exclaimed causing your father to crack up, "No! No! Literally, that is the same sweater he wore last Thanksgivings! I truly believe he hasn't taken it off since then!" Scott shook his head in laughter as you went on. Neil and hideously great sweater's was a family joke that just never got old, one that had grown from something so laced with venom into a warm hug- Much like your family itself.
eventually, with bags loaded in your dads sleigh and goodbyes all in order, you were all on your way. The cold night air blowing through your hair as you flew. The air ,which only got colder and colder, couldn't compete with the warm glass of Judy's famous hot cocoa. The nerves that once run off with the help of your father's loud, jolly laughter, came back as the sound of Christmas songs grew older and the smell of warm cookies filled the air. You didn't know why you were so scared. It wasn't like everyone had forgotten about you, Scott talked about Charlie and you every chance he got! You just didn't know how everyone would react to the new you. When the sleigh finally landed and slowly descended into the hidden world of Christmas, Charlie grabbed your hand to comfort you.
Turning to him, your weak smile was met by his genuine one. His knowing eyes told you that you were gonna be okay. Soon the cheers of elves flooded your ears and the warm scent of cookies and peppermint helped Charlie comfort you. A chorus of 'welcome home's greeted you as Charlie pulled you out of the sleigh. A smile greeted your face as Judy walked towards you, three hot chocolates in hand.
"It was colder than usual tonight, I hope the weather wasn't too bad though!" Judy stated as you took 2 of the hot mugs off her hands, giving one to Charlie.
You hummed softly as the warmth engulfed from the Christmas colored mug you, "It was too cold, just cold enough! The perfect amount." You replied before taking a long sip from the mug.
"Good, I was worried about you and weather!" Judy smiled brightly at you, "You haven't been here in so long, I was unsure how you'd take to the cold again!" "
Oh...yeah I hadn't even thought about that..." It was strange how it never accrued to you, "I guess living in Illinois and then moving to New York for school will set you up for worst of colds."
Judy and you had grown close your first Christmas here. Where Charlie was helping out Bernard with ways to keep your dad safe, you were baking and brewing with Judy. She told you all about the North Pole and the girl she was dating in wrapping. You answered all her questions about high school and told her about the things you and your friends do for fun. She scoffed at how fun you made summer break out to be, saying how ‘no one could have fun in 100 degree heat!’ and she wasn’t completely wrong, so you laughed it off and told her about the lake house Neil’s family owns. Even after that Christmas, you visited her and when you could visit her, you wrote to her.
Judy went to speak, but was cut off my the sound of your little brother calling out the familiar name of a certain elf. The commotion cause Judy and you to turn to the direction your brother had run off too, and ,low n' behold, Bernard was walking towards him with a warm, welcoming smile.
Bernard hadn't changed much since the last time you saw him. He still wore warm, Christmas colored sweaters and the same beret as 3 years ago. His once braid hair was let down in tight, neat curls that framed his face rather nicely. Bernard looked as if he had grown am an inch and his face had sharpened up, much like yours. He looked liked a proper young adult, just around your age, and not like a grumpy teen. It made you think about how old he really was, especially in compression to the other elves. One thing that hadn't changed was how handsome he was. Looking at him now, even at a distance, you could tell he had only gotten more gorgeous. You must have let your thoughts show a little too much as Judy had let out a soft chuckle which drawn your attention away from Bernard and back to her. "You're a little red!" She smirked softly cause you to roll your eyes playfully. You knew she wasn't someone you could trick into think you didn't have a crush on the head elf, so you confined in her. You threw Judy a joking wink as you explained how you were just "cold" cause her to roll her eyes back at you.
"What! I am! It's cold here, even for a cold weather lover such as myself!" Jokingly, you scrunched your nose showing her how you were trying to warm your face back up. As Judy and you laughed at your silly gesture, the two of you were blissfully unaware by the growing presence of your brother and Bernard. It was only until Charlie called your name that made Judy and you snap back to reality. Your eyes meet Bernard's, and warmth definitely rushes back into your face.
"Y/N, you remember Bernard right?" Charlie asked unaware to how much you thought about the elf in question. It was probably unhealthy how much you lay awake at night wondering if Bernard ever thought about you or even remembered you outside of just his boss's kid! You weren't like Charlie, who had visited the North pole as much as he could! However, you would also admit to yourself how the though of Bernard not remembering you hurt.
"Of course I do, Char..." You respond affectionately to your brother, not taking your eyes off of Bernard. Bernard smiles at you and you feel like you're about to melt. Cause when did it get so hot in here? And why were Bernard's so dreamy? It truly wasn't fair how handsome he was.
“Hey, Y/N.."
And god he knows your name, your real name, and it feels so good to hear him call you that and you definitely shouldn't be this whipped over an elf who works for dad. You know it would never work. Firstly, cause Bernard would never think about you the way you think of him. Then secondly, causes he works for your dad! Even if in your wildest dreams come true and Bernard liked you back, your dad would never allow that! So, you swallowed your sorrow and smiled.
"Hey, Bernard....Uh long time, no see?" Your words felt heavy and unsure as the fell from your lips, but Bernard didn't stop smiling at you- that made you feel a lot better about yourself.
"Y-yeah, it has. Your dad told me how about everything, but I didn't know what to expect!" You watched his eyes glace up and down your frame, taking you in. His hands, which once were effortlessly placed on his waist, were now folded into his body as his arms crossed at his chest. He looked back at you, swaying back a bit before realizing that what he said. "No, wait! I didn't mean that in a negative way! You look good, really good!"
You could tell he also didn't know realize what said right then till after the words left his lips, his cheeks hard grown dark and his eyes widened when he finally processed his own words. You didn't wanna get your hopes up, but you had never seen him this uncollected and unsure of himself and it definitely made you think. No- Bernard didn't like you. He couldn't. Bernard just was expecting you to have changed so much, and you got that! Within 2 years you had cut hair, changed your name, started testosterone, and changed up your style completely. You looked like a completely different person.
"You're fine, Bernard! I knew what you meant! I've changed a lot!" You scoffed playfully, a smile spread across your face.
"Bernard is right though!" Judy's excited words grabbed not just your attention, but your Brother's and Bernard's. "You look really good, a lot happy and more like yourself! Plus you've really grown into your looks..." Judy's gaze turned from you and to Bernard, the smile the once graced her face turned into a smirk. "...hasn't he, Bernard?"
And just like that, Bernard was bright red in the face. You're skin felt hot under the fluorescent lighting of the workshop. You're hands, which once awkwardly stood on either side of your body, eased into the pockets of your warm leathery jacket. Judy rolled her eyes at how obvious the two of you were. Charlie stood beside Bernard with a confused frown. Sure he was older now, but 11 was still so young and Charlie hadn't really talked about liking anyone yet. Bernard eyes, which unbeknownst to you, had wondered off to glare at Judy while you were focused on Charlie. He was only met with a playfully confused looked, as if she didn't know what she had just said!
"Y'know what! Why don't we get you two to your rooms?" Bernard chirped, his normal flush returning back to him. You hadn't really realized how late it was and sleep had felt like a foreign thought to you. With all your papers, work, and friends, sleep often escaped your mind. There was only so much you could do in one day, and sleep was the last thing a college student could do.
“How does that sound, Charlie? I’m gonna go ahead and take him-” Before Bernard could finished, Judy had grabbed your brother’s hand and pulled him towards her.
“Actually, I have a few hot cocoa related questions I’d like to get his answers on! Why don’t you take Y/N to his room?” Judy was skating on thin, thin ice and she knew it. With pleading eyes, wordlessly begging for Judy to ask you any and all of her cocoa related questions.
But before you, or Bernard, could speak out, Charlie and Judy were off to her bakery. In a rather petty way, you felt betrayed by your elven friend. You knew she had no ill intent behind her actions and you knew you could never truly be mad at her, but that didn’t stop you from feeling stranded in a snow storm of loud, awkward silence. Normally talking to people came easy to you, but Bernard was like everyone else and everything you tried to say got lost in your throat. You wanted to run. To just say ‘Hey, it’s okay I remember my way around here. You have things to do!’, even if it was a flat lie; You decided that sleeping in the sleigh would be easier than talking to Bernard.
“So…I can show you to your room,” Thankfully Bernard spoke up first. You dragged your eyes away from the direction your brother had run off to and met Bernard’s. He, surprising, wore a warm smile and his eyes weren’t filled with pure anxiety. His body was relaxed or as relaxed as you could get with Bernard. His arms had fallen from his chest, his fingers now played with each other around waist. You softened at the sight. Something about the way he looked in this light- or maybe it was the way he seemed so small, it made every ounce of anxiety your body had vibrated with completely disappear.
“Yeah, that sounds nice.”
As Bernard guided you out of the workshop, the chatter filled the air as elves worked on toys and it made you remember the first time you walked through these halls.
“I remember the first time I was here and my dad kept on calling anything but Bernard. I remember how nervous I was…like if I said or touched anything, the whole place would just disappear…” You tried to hide the anxiety laced within your voice, but it still peeked through. Your eyes scanned around the workshop. Bernard, who walked by your side, looked to you with something you couldn’t quite place. You could tell it was soft, but you couldn’t bring yourself to meet his eyes to find out what it really was.
“You haven’t been back since…” Bernard’s soft voice caught you off guard. You weren’t expecting him sound so…almost hurt. It made you weak, your knees suddenly felt like jello and every step was like walking on eggshells as you left the
“I’ve just been so busy with school.” It was the truth. Once you graduated Highschool and moved away, home felt so far away…and the North Pole even farther. You meant to tag along last Christmas, but time had a funny way of catching up to you. Just like the mound projects you had due by the end of fall semester. “I missed it up here.”
“I missed you- We missed you.” Nothing anyone could never say would make you grin harder than Bernard saying how he missed you.
“No, no, no.” You halted to a stop causing Bernard to follow in suit. You turned to him, it was quiet and the realization that the two of you were alone in the hall sunk in. “You missed me?” your voice was weak, not sure if you wanted to press any further.
A red flush creeped onto Bernard’s face. He looked away in embarrassment, “I really wished you’d let that slide…” he wished to himself, barely loud enough for you to hear.
“I don’t know…if I want…to let it slide…” The words, just as soft as his, hesitantly left your lips like sap seeping from a tree. The words hung in the air, stubborn and unmoving, as the Bernard’s warm eyes met yours. you both knew that if you chose not to press further into the meaning of your honey filled words, that you would be missing out on each other.
“I…I was hoping you wouldn’t let it slide.” Bernard felt greedy for wanting to push further, you did too. He was the right to your father after all, it felt wrong…yet something about it fit. Something about it made sense.
“Really?” You smirked softly, his words giving you a new found confidence. “Cause I was under the impression,” you swayed back, shoving your hands in the pockets of your jacket. “That you did? Or did you not mean what said? I think that moves you to naughty list!” Your smirked spread into a dopey grin.
“Oh my…Y’know elves aren’t actually on the list, we’re above it.” Bernard jested back, wearing a grin almost as dopey as yours.
“Above it? Now that definitely moved you to the naughty list!” You both laughed, content in the world the two of you had made. Bernard smiled lovingly at you, his tired eyes soft at the sight of you.
“You haven’t changed.” His words hit bluntly as he moved closer to you. You watched as his hands reached up towards your face. His hands, calloused from work, felt strange on the soft of your cheeks, but it also felt like home.
“You haven’t either…you're still grumpy and overworked, but still some how practically prefect in every way…” If Bernard’s smile could grow anymore at your words, it would. He was beaming, and his beaming because of you. It made you melt, you felt like putty in his hands- like if his hands left your face you’d just melt away like snow on a warm spring day.
“You’re still stupid…” You knew Bernard’s words were nothing but affectionate. The gap between the two of you slowly disappeared, your lips met his. You’d like to believe that time had stopped in that very moment, but the racing of your heart told you otherwise. No matter how hard your heart pounded in your chest, you only found yourself truly focusing on how soft his lips felt against yours…and now perfectly you melted together.
It’s safe to say that Bernard had followed you to your room, where the two of you melted into the safety of your bed. Neither one of you wanted to get up that following morning, both were to content in holding each other.

Heyo
I was wondering if I could get a Bernard x male reader, where the reader and Bernard obviously have huge crushes on each other, and everyone knows about it, but both of them have it stuck in their heads that the other would never love them.
While m/n was working (he's a baker) Bernard couldn't help himself, so he was staring, very obviously and lovingly, towards him as he baked.
M/n can feel him staring, and when he looks up, he meets Bernards eyes and he quickly darts his eyes and goes back to doing whatever he was supposed to be doing.
One day, Bernard has been convinced by one of m/n's friends, that indeed, they should hook up.
All day, Bernard is planning a a way to ask him out, and he is freaking out.
By the end of the day, he comes to the bakery. There, m/n sat, reading. He gives him a flower (wholesome neurodivergent happiness from m/n) and they go on a stroll out side. while they were staring at the stars, Bernard pulls m/n closer, and finally kisses him, but he is hesitant. He is surprised and his heart melts when m/n kisses him back.
Sorry if that's too much :/
Remember to eat and drink :)))

Author’s note ; Apologies this took so long, this was originally supposed to be posted around the 25th of December. Hopefully this is too your liking, enjoy :)
——————————————
In all honesty out of all the other baker elves you were the tallest and oldest from the others so in ways you were like a parent to them. The other baker elves went to you when they needed help, today was like any other day but it felt more dry than until you felt someone looking directly at you, at first you tried to ignore it but it soon was getting very hard so you look in direction of the person staring.
The person or rather elf was no other than the head elf Bernard as soon as he noticed you staring he looked away and when back to overseeing the elves doing their jobs then a giggling voice caught your attention, “My god, [name] Bernard has a crush on you” your good friend Kurata voice chimed in. “Hm? oh no he doesn’t, Kurata. I-I mean look at me I’m just some baker and he’s the head elf.” you stuttered slightly, a light dust of blush forms on your face. “I see you blushing~” your friend teased “Hey you know you can tell me anything, if you have a crush on Bernard. Your secret is safe with me” they said to you before walking away, ‘Maybe Kurata does have a point..you might actually have a crush? on him? Bernard the head elf? no no you don’t, no [name] you don’t. There’s no way’ you thought, there wouldn’t be anyway that him of all people could like you in a romantic way..
Your dearest friend Kurata noticed the way Bernard looks at you, with such loving eyes. So Kurata, being Kurata puts it in they own responsibility to get you two together, You definitely have a big crush on Bernard and he likes you back, “Hey Bernardd” Kurata has a big suspicious smile on their face “I’ve seen the way you’ve look at my friend. It’s obvious you have a crush on him” Kurata comes up behind Bernard, with Bernard snapping his head in Kurata’s direction, taken off guard. “What? No I do not” he states “Well”Bernard looks right to Kurata, rolling his eyes. Kurata lets out a long sigh “Atlas, y’know if you do have a crush on anyone, just go do it, go confess to them. You gotta take your chances, Bernard before its too late.” Kurata claimed before Bernard told them to get back to work.
A couple days went by Bernard was thinking about what Kurata had said and maybe they were right maybe he should confess to you. He aimlessly walked throughout the workshop, before finding you on a break just reading a book as the rare sunlight shined brightly on your back. while the aroma from freshly baked goods flown throughout the bakery, Bernard took a deep breath as this was the day he was going to confess to you, he still was freaking out from earlier that same day. “[name].” Bernard said coming up “Will you go on a walk, with me?” he asks giving you a flower, a smile formed on your face with a dust of pink forming on your cheeks with a quick nod.
The day soon became night and the walk became stargazing, the tension between you two was incredibly high. You two elves knew it, both of them being in love yet neither one wanted to admit it that was until Bernard made his move and kissed you, the blush on your face increasingly brightening as you kissed back.

chapter two - part two
Tumblr media
"ok Barnaby, I have just one question." My dad started. I saw the annoyed look on Bernards face. "Where the have are we?!"
"First, it's Bernard, and second, you're at the north pole."
" And why exactly am I at the north pole?"
"Because the last Santa fell off the roof, and you put on the suit, and you are now Santa. Did you not read card?" He said, placing his hands on his hips.
My dad looked bewildered. He opened his mouth trying to find words. "I am not Santa claus! Look, I've had a long night, and my back hurts. Have you ever tried to fit a kayak down a chimney? I just wanna go home."
As he said that, I looked around as some of the surrounding elves looked at him with hints of sadness in their eyes.
"I don't think you should say things like that, dad." I said, looking at him.
"Not right now d/n" he said, not even looking at me.
I pursed my lips, really pissed at him.
"That's not my name...." I said under my breath.
"What is your name?" Bernard asked, directing it towards me. I saw Scott try to but in and answer for us, but before he could, I spoke out.
"My name's m/n, and this is Charlie.....where did he go??" I said, looking around me, trying to find him. I looked until I saw him over by what looked like animal stables, petting the reindeer. When I turned back around Bernard was still there, waiting for me.
"Nice to meet you, m/n." He said with a smile, reaching his hand out to shake mine. I took his hand, going it a firm shake.
" You too, Bernard."
He nodded, then turning back to Scott.
"Great, not that we're all introduced, can you please tell me how I can get home?!" I could tell by the tone of his voice that he was getting annoyed and mad. I knew that tone of voice all too well. The feeling of dread started to build up in the back of my throat, as it usually does when he gets like this.
"Like I have told you, the old Santa fell off the roof, you read the card, you put on the suit, so now you are Santa." Bernard said, obviously annoyed at this point. He looked like he's had a really long night. I feel bad for him.
"Hey! Look, it's not my fault that that other guy fell off my roof, it was an accident. And I've got homeowners insurance and a great lawyer, not as good as my ex wife's, but let's not open up that wound." I sighed, remebering the long days in court. I wish those days never happened. But if they didn't, their relationship would've gotten really toxic.
We watched as Bernard turned on his heel, walking the other way. We both followed him.
"Can I get you a drink?" He asked, walking into a hallway lines with these huge ass candy canes. I did the whole look up at the ceiling while walking thing, still in awe at everything.
"Im thirsty and hungry!" Charlie said, announcing his presence.
"Hey bud," I said, ruffling his bowlcut "I guess I could go for something too." I said.
"Hey, where were you?" Scott asked. "I was petting comet." He said, matter of factly.
Scott rolled his eyes.
"Well hiya sport." Bernard said "You must be Charlie."
"Mhm!" Charlie said. He then turned to Scott, " dad! He called me sport, just like you do!"
"Thats great buddy." He responded with zero enthusiasm.
"Hey, you know what, I got something for you " Bernard said, reaching into his satchel he had with a grin. "Hold out your hand, ok?" As Charlie held out his hand, I watched as Bernard pulled out a beautiful snow globe.
"Now be careful, it's old, just like me." I gave his joke a little laugh. Bernard glanced up at me, giving me a sly smile. I like his smile. It was nice.
As Bernard placed the globe In Charlie's hand, Charlie let out a gasp. A smile took over his face.
"Shake it up Charlie."
Charlie did as he said, and we both watched as the fake snow flurried around. And to our amazement, a little model of our house showed up. My eyes widened.
I look up at Bernard, and he was looking at me. I looked back at him, giving him a smile. He returned one, matching my energy.
"Why don't you hold onto that, it might come In handy."
"Thanks!!" Charlie looked like he could just explode from happiness. My respect for Bernard began to grow. He seemed like a really nice guy, and he was cool.
"Hey, Larry!" Bernard shouted to someone behind us, and I turned around to see who it was. "How about you take Charlie to his room!"
"No, no Larry don't do that!" Dad called out to them, but they were already gone.
"M/n, why don't you follow me to your room."
Before I could even nod my head, I felt Scott grab my shoulders and pull me back. "Uh-uh. She's not going anywhere. Not with you." I closed my eyes. I really dont like it when he does stuff like this.
"𝘏𝘦 will be just fine. " Bernard said putting his hand out. I smiled thankfully at him. I felt my heart swell with a feeling I couldn't quite describe. I pulled myself away from Scott's grip, grabbing Bernard's hand.
His hand was big compared to mine. It was rough, but soft. He held my hand with a firm but gentle grasp.
"So you're just going to leave me?" I heard Scott yell behind us.
" Judy 'll come and get you!" Bernard yelled back.
We walked down many halls, each as extravagant as the last. He both walked in silence, until he spoke.
" I'm sorry your dad does that." He spoke softly.
I was confused for a second
"does what?" I asked.
"Calls you the wrong name and pronouns. That's not very nice of him." I took a moment to think about what he said. No one has ever really apologized to me about that. I've always just delt with it myself.
I studered for a second, trying to figure out what to say.
"T-thank you.." I finally spit out.
Once we reached what I assumed to be my room, he let go of my hand, leaving them cold from the sudden lack of warmth. He opened the door, and I just stood there. The room was perfect. Fairy lights danced around the ceiling, a bed tucked into the corner with the most comfortable looking blankets, a fire place roaring.
"Holy shit!" I said, which I have thought all night, but this is the first time I have actually said it.
"Hey, language. We don't want any of the young elves to hear that." He said, not even sounding annoyed or mad about it, just informative.
"My bad, sorry." I said.
I took a step into the room, taking in the smell of fire and wood.
"If you need anything, I'll be down the hall to the left. Good night m/n, sleep well."
"Goodnight Bernard," I said, watching him walk off and close the door.
On the bed, I saw what looked to be flannel pants. I felt them, and they seemed comfortable. I quickly slipped off the pants I was wearing and put them on.
By the time I slipped into the bed, I was already half asleep. Tonight had been long, even if it was all a dream. As I fell asleep, the smell of peppermint and cinnamon lingered in my nose. It was a pleasant smell.
A/n : I didnt feel like writing the entire scene so I just kinda did this.

hii im sorry if you're getting so many requests, but may I request Bernard and an afab he/they human reader? The reader is close friends with Charlie and once loved and adored Christmas but after their mom died they stopped believing altogether, so Charlie takes them to (i thinks its Christmas town??) and Bernard takes up the job personally to reignite the readers belief in Christmas. I hope this makes sense, I'm sorry if it doesn't!

Summary: After losing your mom, Charlie notices that you’ve lost all Christmas spirit. Being the son of Santa Claus, he decides to bring you to the North Pole, where you meet the Head Elf.
A/N: could be read as platonic or romantic i think. mentions of death and grief
***
“Charlie, I really don’t want to intrude.” You protested as your best friend and college roommate helped you pack your suitcase. “I’m fine with staying here, I promise.”
“Y/n, there’s no way I’m letting you stay here. You’ll be miserable!” He looked at you, putting a hand on your shoulder. “Besides, no one should be alone during Christmas.”
“It’s just Christmas.” You muttered a bit bitterly. Charlie sighed, pursing his lips at you, but he said nothing.
This was the first Christmas you’d be celebrating without your mother, whom you lost earlier in the year. Christmas had been your favorite time of year, but with her gone, it felt like there was no point in celebrating anymore. You couldn’t wait for the holiday to pass so you could stop dreading it.
Charlie felt inclined to help you change your view on the holiday. He was your friend, and he hated seeing you so miserable, especially during such a happy time of year. But there, of course, was another reason he was so adamant about helping you get through the holiday.
You arrived at Charlie’s mom’s house late that night. She and Neil welcomed you with open arms like they always did, which made you feel a bit better than you had when you left campus. The four of you had dinner together before settling in the living room. Eventually, Laura and Neil went to bed. Feeling tired yourself, you wanted to do the same. But you didn’t want to leave Charlie or be alone in your shared room, so you stayed put, slowly falling asleep on the couch as some movie played in the background.
***
As you slowly woke up, you felt colder than you did when you fell asleep. It felt like someone had put a high-speed fan in front of your face, the cold biting at you no matter how you tried to shield yourself from it.
“Dad, I think they’re waking up.” You heard Charlie’s voice as you slowly opened your eyes. Suddenly, Charlie appeared above you, a dark night sky behind his head. This confused you even more, because you don’t remember falling asleep outside. “Have a good nap, Y/n?”
“Where are we?” You asked groggily, slowly sitting up. The sight of your surroundings almost made you faint. “Charlie, where are we?!”
You were thousands of feet in the air, flying over sea and ice. That explained why you were so cold. But what you didn’t understand was why the man flying whatever you were sitting in was dressed in red and white like he was Santa Claus.
“The North Pole!” Charlie replied with a bright grin.
“What?!”
Suddenly, you slowed down, reaching a vast land covered in snow. You were too scared to look down, but whatever you were sitting in, you were starting to guess it was a sleigh, lowered to the ground and then deep below it. The lower the sleigh went, the warmer you became, which you were thankful for.
As you went further underground, the man driving the sleigh turned to look at you. This must have been some insane, elaborate prank because he truly looked like Santa Claus.
“Hey, Y/n!” He said, and you recognized the voice as Charlie’s father.
“Mr. Calvin?” You said hesitantly, eyes flitting to Charlie, who nodded in confirmation.
“Come on, kid. I told you, you can call me Scott.”
“Or Santa,” Charlie added with a laugh.
The three of you jolted slightly as the sleigh finally touched the ground. As you looked around, you debated whether to jump out of the sleigh and start running, or to curl up in a ball and hope that this was just a dream. Seeing a crowd of kids around the sleigh talking loudly and staring at you made you lean towards the latter.
You were about to ask a million questions, but someone came up to sleigh, looking at Scott.
“Santa, finally, you’re back.” He said, staring at him sternly. He didn’t seem to be much older than you or Charlie. “You’ve only checked the naughty and nice list once; you’re supposed to do it twice. Christmas is in six days.”
“Bernard, Bernard, Bernard.” Scott patted the man’s shoulder. “You worry too much. I can check a list with two billion names on it before Christmas.”
“You brought guests,” Bernard said suddenly, giving a polite nod to Charlie before staring at you. It was clear that you were the odd man out in the sleigh.
“Yes! Bernard, this is Y/n, Charlie’s roommate.”
Bernard gasped in horror, making you flinch. You wonder what Charlie and his father have been telling these strange people about you to warrant such a reaction.
“You brought a…” Bernard looked around at the rest of the kids in the room. They had started to disperse, but it was clear that some were still listening. He leaned in to whisper something to Scott before pulling back. “Here?!”
“Yes, yes, I did. But don’t worry, because you’re gonna help fix that!”
Incredibly confused by the conversation happening in front of you, you leaned over to Charlie.
“What the hell are they talking about?” You asked. “And what did that guy call me?”
“You’ll find out soon enough.” Charlie patted your back before getting his dad’s attention. “Dad, I’m gonna show Y/n around the workshop.”
“The what?” Your questioning was ignored as Charlie dragged you out of the sleigh. You quickly glanced back at Scott and Bernard, who was staring at you with a mixed expression, before being yanked out of the room.
***
It took a few hours to wrap your head around what was happening. Apparently, Charlie’s dad was Santa Claus. The Santa Claus, and had been since Charlie was a little kid. All the kids that had flocked around the sleigh when you landed in the North Pole were actually elves, all older than anyone you’ve known by at least five times. And Bernard, who was in charge of the workshop, was the oldest of them all.
You were still half convinced this was some weird dream.
But when you woke up to a knock on the door and realized you were still in the festive bedroom that Charlie had taken you to after the tour he gave you, it was clear that this wasn’t a dream. Weird? Yes. Dream? No.
Groggily, you stumbled out of bed and went to the door. You had no idea what time it was, but you were mentally cursing this mystery person for waking you up.
“Hi.” Bernard was standing in front of you, looking a tad bit impatient.
“Hi…?” You replied, wondering what he was doing at your door at… well, whatever time it was. “I didn’t order a wake-up call.” You tried to joke, rubbing some of the sleep out of your eyes.
Surprisingly, Bernard let out a little laugh. Well, it wasn’t much of a laugh. He just made a small sound as he exhaled through his nose, but you decided to count it.
“No, Santa did.” It was your turn to do a small laugh that didn’t seem much like a laugh. Already, this conversation seemed absolutely ridiculous. “He charged me with looking after you, showing you around, that kind of thing.”
“Looking after me?” You asked, raising an eyebrow. “No offense, but I’m a big boy; I think I can manage.”
To be perfectly honest, you were planning to spend however long your stay was locked in your room. Wandering around a place filled with holiday spirit and festive decor didn’t feel very appealing to you.
“I bet you can, but I’m afraid he insisted. Charlie, too.”
You sighed. You didn’t really know what your friend was up to, but you knew you would have a few words with him when you got back to school.
Bernard seemed like he wasn’t going to budge on the matter, so you nodded.
“Fine. Lemme just…” You looked down at your clothes, deeming your loose pajamas a bit unfitting for the below-freezing temperatures of the North Pole. “I gotta change first.”
Without waiting for a response, you shut the door on Bernard. You made quick work of changing your clothes, making sure to layer up as much as you could without restricting your mobility. When you slipped your shoes on and opened the door again, Bernard perked up and smiled.
“So, what do you wanna do?” He asked you as you walked down a long hallway.
“I dunno; what is there to do around here?”
***
Turns out, there was a lot to do at the North Pole. You almost felt bad for the elves because they had to work until Christmas, but they somehow didn’t seem to mind.
You and Bernard started by walking around the town square, where he pointed out every shop and activity, hoping that something would pique your interest. The two of you went through various stores that sold candies, snowglobes, and loads of other Christmas-themed objects. Eventually, you got tired of walking around and were getting a bit chilly, so Bernard took you to what he deemed to be the best hot chocolate shop in all of the North Pole.
“Where are we going?” You asked, holding your giant mug close to your chest as Bernard took you out of the shop, heading out of Christmas town and close to a bundle of trees.
“I know a place.” He answered, sparing you a small glance and smile. “And being Head Elf, it gets to be my little secret.”
After a few minutes of trudging through snow, you found yourself at a small clearing. It was absolutely beautiful. Although you hated the chill of the heavy snow, it made the place look enchanting. Near you, at the edge of the trees, was a bench with an awning, so it was the only thing not covered in white. You could see a good-sized patch of ice on the other side of the clearing. It was probably a pond or small lake that never melted because of the constant below-freezing temperatures.
“I can see why you’d keep a place like this to yourself.” You say to Bernard as the two of you settle on the bench. You stirred your cocoa with the candy cane that came with your drink, sighing in contentment after taking a sip.
“Yeah, I rarely ever come though.”
“Why?” You asked, glancing at him only to find that he was already looking at you.
“Too busy.” He shrugged. “Sure, December’s always the busiest, but it’s not like the workshop just stops working for the rest of the year.”
You nodded, and you fell into a bit of silence. Just drinking hot cocoa and watching snow fall.
When your mugs were empty and the sky started getting a bit darker, you decided it was time to head back into town.
“Thanks for showing me this place; it’s really nice.” You say as you try to step in the footprints you made on the way in. Something annoying about the winter snow was the way it clung to your shoes, and you’d have to kick against the doorframe to get it all off. “I promise not to tell anyone about your little secret.”
“I think it’s safe to say that it’s our little secret now,” Bernard said, patting your shoulder.
***
The next few days were better than you thought they’d be. You spent a lot of time with Bernard and Charlie, either in the workshop, having hot cocoa and cookies, or going to the clearing in the woods. Somehow, despite being surrounded by elves and Christmas decorations and such, you sort of forgot that Christmas was just around the corner.
Until you woke up on Christmas Eve.
Charlie was the one to wake you up, because Bernard had to do a final checklist on everything before Scott (you refused to call him Santa) took off for the night. You wished his holiday spirit could rub off on you a bit, because you were worried about bringing the mood down with your constant thoughts of loss. But with the elves’ franticness and Charlie’s sunny disposition, it seemed no one really noticed.
Before Scott had to go to the sleigh, you and Charlie said goodbye to him and wished him luck. Then, when Charlie asked you what you wanted to do, you told him you wanted to go for a walk alone. Knowing your feelings regarding the holidays, he nodded and said he’d see you later. Although he brought you to the North Pole to try to help you regain some of the Christmas spirit you had once lost, the last thing he wanted to do was force you into reliving memories that now felt tainted.
You found yourself at the clearing. Your and Bernard’s little secret. You bundled yourself up in a blanket you had grabbed from your room, watching the snowfall.
You were glad that Bernard showed you this place, grateful even. It was the one place here that didn’t make you feel too miserable. The memories attached to this place were filled with Bernard, hot chocolate, and laughs.
“Thought I’d find you here.” You were startled out of your thoughts by Bernard, who walked over to you holding two large steaming cups with candy canes. It had become your usual drink for the last couple of days.
“I thought you were looking after the workshop.” You said, giving a quick nod of thanks as Bernard handed you your drink and settled beside you. “You know, having to get everything ready for… him and stuff.”
“He just left.” You noticed that Bernard had started trying to refrain from saying ‘Santa’ around you. Maybe because he knew how ridiculous the whole thing felt to you. Or perhaps he knew about your view on the holiday itself. Either way, you were a bit grateful for it. “Thought I’d try to find you.”
“Well, here I am.” You clinked your mug against Bernard’s, and the two of you drank. The hot liquid warmed you from the inside, and you closed your eyes, leaning your head back.
There was a beat of silence before Bernard decided to speak.
“I’m sorry about your mom.” It was quiet, but the last word made your eyes shoot open. You looked at him for a moment.
“Did Charlie tell you?” It was the only reason you could think of. Either him or Scott. Despite all the time you’ve spent with Bernard recently, you had never brought up your mother.
“Kind of.” Bernard tapped the side of his cup, leaning back in his seat and looking at you. “Being Head Elf and all, I check the naughty and nice list before it gets to the big guy. And… I saw what you wanted for Christmas.” You nodded in understanding.
“I’m a bit surprised I was on the list at all.” You said. “I don’t think I’ve really believed in Christmas or magic or anything since she died. No offense.”
“Everyone’s on the list, no matter what.” Bernard gave you a tightlipped smile. “And none taken. I’ll admit I was a bit... hesitant about you being here at first. I wasn’t sure what a non-believer in the North Pole would do to the magic.” You nodded, now understanding why he acted the way he did when he first met you at the sleigh. “I got you something.”
“What?” You looked at him in surprise.
“I don’t really know where you stand on the holiday right now, but I figured you should at least still have a present.”
Bernard dug into his pocket and held his hand out, covering the small object with his hand. When you grabbed it, he lifted his hand to reveal a snow globe. The inside was a tiny replica of the clearing you were sitting in now.
“It’s enchanted.” He said, looking at you looking at the globe. “If you shake it, it’ll show you a memory of your mom that you want to see.”
You looked at him suspiciously, but he looked serious. You figured you might as well give it a try. After all, you’ve seen flying reindeer and creatures that were a few hundred years old. You were starting to become a bit more open-minded.
Giving the snow globe a quick shake, you watched as the little white flecks swirled around. When they dispersed, you saw that Bernard had been telling the truth. You remembered this moment; it was one of your favorite memories with your mom. She was making frosting for Christmas cookies, and a younger you sat on the kitchen counter, swinging your legs. You talked about anything you could, and she did nothing but listen. Like she always did. The only times she tried to shut you up was so you could taste the frosting she made.
When the little snowflakes swirled back around and fell to the bottom, the memory had disappeared. You looked up at Bernard, only realizing a few tears cascaded down your cheeks when he lifted his hand to wipe them away.
“I know it’s not exactly what you had wanted, but I hope you like it.”
“I love it.” You insisted, setting your mug and globe next to you on the bench so you could wrap your arms around Bernard. He put down his mug and patted your back comfortingly. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.” When you separated, you smiled at each other, and you opened your tightly wrapped blanket to put part of it around his shoulders. The two of you huddled together for some more warmth. “So, do you think you’ll come back to the North Pole next year?”
You glanced at the snow globe before leaning your head on Bernard’s shoulder. In turn, he rested his head on yours.
“I’d like that.”

There was not enough time. There was so much to do, and so little time to do it. Christmas was fast approaching, Santa was visiting the Millers, and Bernard was running like a chicken with its head cut off. Everyone was frantically trying to meet the deadlines, and everything was just so hectic! I was sitting at my station, screwing wheels onto trucks as quickly as possible. I must have been going too fast because before I knew it, my grip slipped.
Even with the blood dripping onto the table, I did not realize that I cut my hand until Curtis came up to me.
“Did you know that it is a biohazard and violation of rule 1627 to knowingly bleed at your station, and possibly, contaminate presents? I’m gonna have to report this to Santa,” He chastised as he opened the book to rule 1627. He started talking more, but I was not listening. I was focused on the growing pool of blood in my palm. “Are you even listening to me?”
“Why are you lecturing her, Curtis?” Bernard sighed with a roll of his eyes as he walked over to the station, immediately moving to take the book away from Curtis. “Just let them work. You are wasting her time.”
“I am not!” Curtis exclaimed, pulling the book back. “I am here to enforce the rules, and their injury is breaking rule 1627!”
“What injury?” It is then that Bernard notices the puddle of blood in my hand that has begun to overflow onto the table. I followed his eye line, finally actually looking at my injury, and I felt lightheaded immediately. In response, Bernard rushed forward to apply pressure on my hand, and he pulled a cloth from his pocket to clean up some of the blood to see the wound. Once he got a clear view of the injury, he came around the bench to help me stand, wrapping his arm around my shoulder. “Come with me. I’ll take you to the infirmary.”
“But I need to finish these before Santa gets back,” I tried to argue, but my thoughts were getting jumbled. I leaned more into Bernard’s side, suddenly not feeling strong enough to stand on my own.
“No, you are coming with me to the infirmary, now,” He said, pushing past Curtis, who was still going off about rule 1627 and deadlines. “Curtis, no offense, but shut up.”
“And that right there is a violation of rule 2256,” Curtis replied, smugly, “The head elf must treat all other elves with respect, regardless of personal feelings.”
“And you are breaking the only rule I remember,” Bernard said, pointedly, trying to move past Curtis. “Rule number 9, an elf's mental and physical health prioritizes deadlines and even Christmas.” Curtis was, for once, speechless. Bernard knew he finally won an argument against Curtis, but he suddenly became aware of the bloody cloth in his hand. “That being said, Curtis, do not stand in my way.”
In the infirmary, Bernard made quick work of cleaning and wrapping my hand. Thankfully, the wound was not too deep to require stitches since Bernard had no idea how to do stitches, but it was still pretty deep. He cleaned it up, apologizing after seeing me wince, and wrapped in it gauze. “Should stay put for the rest of the day, but don’t take my word for it. There’s a reason I’m not a medical elf,” he laughed.
“It’s better than I could do,” I joked back. “Thanks, Bernard. I really appreciate it.”
“Now, I don’t want you going back to your station today,” he started. I began to object, but he made a motion for me to stop. “You are going to go in the kitchens, eat something, and chill for the rest of the day. No exceptions.”
“Was that a pun?” I laughed, moving to stand up and adjust the gauze. I lost my balance for a second to which Bernard grabbed my shoulders to steady me.
“That’s all you go from that?” He replied with a weary smile. “And stop doing things so fast. You lost a lot of blood.”
“Sorry, didn’t think standing would be so strenuous,” I replied sarcastically. He gave me a pointed look before I changed my tone. “Fine, but I don’t know what you expect me to do.”
“Go eat, drink some hot cocoa, sleep, I don’t know! Just don’t do work,” He responded. “Simple.”
“Well, if it’s so simple,” I started, and I could see the gears turning in Bernard’s head along with what I was saying, “you’d have no problem with joining me?” I could not tell if it was the blood loss making me delirious or not, but I thought now, 4 weeks out from Christmas, was the best time to shoot my shot with the ever-so-busy head elf.
“There’s not enough time for me to take a break,” he sighed. “You know that.”
“Well, when was the last time you took a break?” I pressed. He hesitated, and immediately, I knew he could not remember the last time he took a break. “Maybe you need to take a page out of the rule book. Rule 9, what was that rule again?” I asked rhetorically, tilting my head in a joking manner.
“An elf's mental and physical health prioritizes deadlines and even Christmas,” he exhaled, knowing exactly where I was going with this. “Please, I don’t have time for this.”
“Not with that mentality,” I relented, grabbing his hand with my good hand, as I pulled him towards the kitchens. “If there’s one thing I learned from Carol, it is if you can’t remember the last time you took a break, it’s been too long. Now, you are going to chill with me before you work yourself to death.”
“Y’know, I didn’t think you would be this assertive when injured,” he laughed as he let me drag him around the square. Some of the other elves looked at us funny, and a couple of the yonder elves giggled at our antics but continued on with their activities.
“Oh trust me,” I chucked, pulling him into a little shop that did not have loads of elves inside. I pulled him into a booth beside me. I leaned into his shoulder and whispered, “I’ve always liked you, but maybe I just needed a push.”
“Well, you know what?” He whispered back, leaning closer to me as well. “I’ve always thought about you, but there are rules for that.” “So many rules, Bernard!” I exclaimed, throwing my head back. “Don’t you wanna live a little? What is Santa gonna do? Fire you?”
“I don’t know?” He responded sincerely. “I don’t really want to find out either.”
“I’ll handle Santa if he tries anything,” A new voice responded from behind us. Our heads snapped around to face the one and only Mrs. Claus. “You two deserve to be happy. Forget about the rules for once.”
“Look at that, you’ve got someone in your corner,” I laughed. “Are you going to take the chance?”
“If that’s your way of saying that today’s events are considered a date,” he paused. I was giving him the side-eye as he pretended to contemplate his choices. “I accept, but I need to tell-”
“No worries! I will take over your responsibilities for the day,” Carol offered. “You two enjoy your day.”
“Thank you, Mrs. Claus,” I responded. She headed out of the shop, and it was just the two of us again. “So, no more working, no more deadlines, no more stressing, no more Curtis, and no more rules for today.”
“Well, there are still rules! We can’t have disorder everywhere!” He interjected.
“Well, I’ve got some new rules for you,” I replied quietly, “and none of which relate to work.”

Summary ; You’ve been your father’s assistant for the last 600 years. A couple mistakes now and again but they weren’t big mistakes that made Christmas go on a stake, Bernard did go easier on you. But he still scolded you as he would do to any other elf but much easier. However today wasn’t necessarily bad its was just going downhill hour after hour and it led to you getting badly injured.

You gripped onto your satchel very tightly “Father..” you quietly murmured, “Over there,” You pointed outside to the tinsel elf playing tinsel ball, a small smile appearing on your face “May I go play with them?” you asked, “No, [name] your still grounded.” He replied with an eye-roll from you.
For the remainder of the day it was pretty okay, it was until a certain group who always mad Bernard’s day worsen and make him more cranky and made him feel more overworked. Today you were this group of elves victim, elves are usually jolly and happy but this group wasn’t jolly they wanted a little fun, chaos, if you will. Not to destroy Christmas spirit for other elves obviously, just a little mischief. However this time the series of pranks from the group went very wrong, at first it started out with a little prank ones that were small enough to make others giggle. But today the group of elves went too far and they mistakenly did it on the head elf’s son even though this group or gang, if you will, of elves never did any pranks that would harm others but this group never really liked you. They thought you got a special privilege with having a father and being his assistant, instead of a prank it ended up being they more of so beat you up, kicking you when they kick you down. For the first time in a long time you were basically sobbing your eyes out. You didn’t know how long went by until the group of elves left and you ended up hearing your father not so long after in the distance, saying “Where is he?”, your body was so limp as it laid in the cold for the maybe a couple of hours. You heard footsteps running up towards you “[name]! Can you hear me?” He asked, holding you up so you could now see him. You nodded slightly, too drained to even speak from the north pole’s coldness Bernard put one of your arms over his shoulder and one of his arms over your shoulder. He took you back to the your shared room, placing you down on a bed of your own, putting a warm rag over your forehead and blanket over you. Tiredness took over you and you fell asleep, while you unknowingly knew what he was doing, working in and out trying to figure out who just left you in the cold. When you woke you saw your father still awake, when he came into the room, unknowingly to you he did end up going to sleep but however he managed to find the ones the beat you up. “Dad..?” You stumbled out, in a tired gaze, Bernard replaced the cloth on your forehead with another warm cloth “Dad..! Dad, I’m okay now..” you tried reassuring him “You were out in the cold alone and on the ground with little to no movement! You could’ve been dead, [name].” Your father replied just wanting the best for you “I’ve dealt with those elves that did this to you, do you know why they did this, [name]” he asked, rubbing your shoulder, you sighed in response “I’m not sure..it could be because your my dad..?” You answered him. “Stay here, how about rest a bit?” He titled his head with a smile which just made you nod.

My Request Rules + Character List
My inbox is currently CLOSED for requests
Masterlist | AO3 | Ko-fi | Spotify | Character.ai
If you’d like to be notified about future works, you can send me an ask or comment saying what characters/fandoms you want to be notified for and I’ll add you to the tag list for it!
RULES
Please only request through my ask box! Requesting through my messages will be ignored/deleted
I only write x readers, no character x character
If there’s a character that I’ve written for that’s no longer on this list, please don’t request something with that character. The list is always up to date so if they’re not on the list anymore, I no longer write for them
If my inbox is closed for requests, do not send me a request. if i get a request while my inbox is closed, the request gets deleted without any notice. if you try to send the request again while i'm not accepting anything, you will be blocked
If not specified, the reader will be fem/afab! Exceptions are pronoun usage in the request (referring to reader as “they”, “he”, etc) and canon sexuality of the character the reader’s being paired with (if the character’s a gay guy, the reader will be male)
I have the right to not want to fulfill a request that makes me uncomfortable in any way (i rarely reject requests, but some people are weird)
I WILL NOT WRITE
incest
throuples/threesomes that involve siblings (for example, malcolm x reader x reese)
someone explicitly having an ED
someone dealing with SH
I'm not comfortable with writing about these topics, so any requests with them will be deleted without any notice and i will block you
CHARACTER LIST
*the number next to a character’s name indicates how many requests i currently have for that character! this is always up to date! please be considerate of how many requests i have for a character before requesting!
Total requests in inbox: 37

The Santa Clause
Holly Jolly (hiatus)
Rating - Explicit (eventual smut)
Pairing - Bernard the elf x Female OC
Status - In Progress
Summary -
“What’s wrong with a bit of fancy?”
She paused at the question, looking over at him. He was staring up at the sky himself, eyes so full of stars, it looked as if a single blink would have them falling like tears down his already sparkling cheeks.
She was struck again by just how magical he seemed. It lit up a primal part of her brain that said he was powerful, dangerous.
Not like her.
“Nothing. There’s nothing wrong with that.”

Til Death We'll Be Freezing
Rating - Mature (adult themes, no smut)
Pairing - older!Bernard the elf x Female OC
Status - Complete (7/7)
Summary -
Every elf lives with an incessant prickling at their back, Cupid’s arrow waiting to strike the moment they’ve found their mate. Bernard was sure he’d met his long ago, and together they lived a beautiful life. But after his wife passes away and he finds himself feeling lost in a small town cafe, the prickling returns.
Soulmate AU with a twist. What is free will, exactly?

Hazbin Hotel
Vanitas (hiatus)
Rating - Explicit (eventual smut)
Pairing - Lucifer Morningstar x gn!reader
Status - In Progress
Summary -
The king wasn’t as intimidating as one might think, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t used to getting his way. It never occurred to him that you would say no.
Of course you wouldn’t.
He was your most important client, afterall.

Gn!Reader is the go to artist for the Morningstar family’s many portraits over the years. After nearly a decade since your last royal commission, you get a sudden request from the king for a portrait—one that’s much more sentimental than what you’d expect from him, especially for a sinner.

Being Bernard’s kid :)
———————
gn!reader
just some light cursing btw
———————
Tumblr media
•Firstly Bernard is an amazing father
•For fucks sake your growing up in the  north pole. In Santa’s workshop. There wasn’t much you couldn’t do
•Being Bernard’s kid had its ups and downs, for one your the head elf’s child but your also just basically his assistant.
•However at times Bernard can be a little rough around the edges, along side to this he in is overworked so he rarely has time to do stuff that other fathers and their child would do together. Even though all the elfs are jolly and happy if you do something that really tickles Bernard’s feathers to the point he has to ground you then you did something BAD.
•The most he would do as a punishment is probably no playing tinsel ball with the tinsel elves or he’ll just tell you to go with your least favorite job at the north pole and tell you to do that instead. Maybe no listening to music on the job with them fancy headphones he gave you when he was on a break.
•To make at least some memories you two could eat some form of pita together, or sit outside together with some hot cocoa.
•overall 10/10 dad
