My Ben 10 redesigns, concept storyboards, and reboot ideas masterpost
as seen in https://youtu.be/19MpY8dVvwk
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. Ben Tennyson shouldn’t just grow over the course of each episode, he should grow over the course of the entire series. Here’s a chart of loose ideas I made to organize them & keep them from contradicting each other. If Avatar: The Last Airbender can do character arcs over the course of multiple seasons, then we can, too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. Ben Tennyson’s villains should be darker reflections of Ben’s own flaws and weaknesses. It is by recognizing these similarities that allows Ben to break free of them and become a better person.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Albedo is a fun example of this because he’s literally Ben’s doppelganger, not unlike Shadow the hedgehog from the Sonic franchise.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
regardless of who the episode’s villain is, we can always write parallels between them and Ben. Want to make a Zombozo episode? Make it about Ben making fun of Gwen’s phobias until Zombozo triggers Ben’s phobia of clowns, where Ben learns that scaring people isn't so fun once you know what it’s like to be scared.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. The central emotion behind all of Ben’s growth should be empathy. The Omnitrix gives him the power to transform into a completely different alien species and view the universe from its eyes, which should lead to Ben seeing himself more in other people and thus becoming a kinder, more understanding person. He becomes a superhero not by simply having power, but by empathizing with people enough to rescue them.
Tumblr media
Tetrax Shard and Ben teaming up.
Tumblr media
Ben comforts Manny/an original tetramand character
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is the Omnitrix that helps Ben develop his empathy, to the point that he sees himself in aliens that he has previously transformed into. It is the Omnitrix that forces Ben to realize that there is more to the universe than just him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My ideal Ben 10 pilot would involve Ben spending the last day of school being a witness to bullying, but fantasize himself as a superhero instead of meaningfully intervening, needing to be told by Grandpa that superheroes are supposed to be about rescuing people (in the same vein as Kid Cosmic), Ben experiencing the realities of superpowers by almost burning down their campground as Heatblast, and fighting Vilgax’s robots as Feedback, followed by saving people as Feedback once everything finally starts to click for him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If there is a story arc centered on Azmuth, the creator of the Omnitrix, it should end with Ben realizing that he should return it to its creator, but because Azmuth can see that his intentions for the Omnitrix have been fulfilled via Ben’s developed empathy, he allows Ben to keep it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My Ben 10 OC: Cursebreaker, Since Charmcaster is Gwen’s nemesis, Charmcaster could have a little brother who can act as Ben’s magic-based nemesis, who can reflect Ben’s rambunctious id as well as his rivalry with his older sister figure. Ben & Gwen may be cousins, but their similarities to Charmcaster & Cursebreaker can show us that they're more like siblings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ben’s new anti-alien rhetoric deeply disturbs Grandpa.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
An early episode of the series could involve Ben watching so many alien invasion movies that he starts to develop prejudices against all aliens whatsoever, but when Ben gets captured by alien ICE while transformed into Fourarms and sent to alien prison, he learns that viewing aliens as evil invaders can be dehumanizing and helps free all the other alien prisoners once Grandpa arrives to rescue him.
Tumblr media
If we’re going to bring back the Plumbers, the super-secret police force that Grandpa Max used to be part of, my choice would be to make them corrupt and evil, signified by their re-branding into ‘the Rooters’ and led by a villainous eyepatch-wearing Phil Billings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This change in writing would not only prevent the heroes from having a giant safety net to help them with their problems, it would give Grandpa a character arc where he has to confront his own blindness and work to dismantle the system he helped create.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I would write Kevin Levin to have a character arc where he goes from being a villain to an antihero, complete with his own ‘Zuko Alone’-style episode, to becoming a member of the main protagonists in the final season, because what Kevin really wants isn’t revenge against Ben, it’s to become friends with him again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eon, the evil version of Ben Tennyson from an alternate future, should receive his own episode/arc in which a future Gwen time travels to prevent present-day Ben from becoming an evil tyrant who rules the world (in the same vein as Kamen Rider Zi-O or Kim Possible: A Sitch in Time). Either Eon has alternate selves he can summon, or can use the Omnitrix’s “command mode” to allow the Omnitrix aliens to fight on his behalf. Perhaps future Gwen believes that this is the catalyst for Ben’s villainy?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When it seems that all is lost, it is Ben’s adult self Ben 10,000 who appears to save the day, stop Eon, and give our Ben a pep talk to restore his confidence, because the episode/arc was secretly a Ben 10,000 episode all along. Notice that the Omnitrix is on his belt instead of his wrist- maybe Ben actively takes off the Omnitrix to stop Eon’s future from taking hold, and this is what allows Ben 10,000 to exist? In any case, I want it to be a decision that our Ben actively makes that stops Eon, and the appearance of Ben 10.000 is the victory lap.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alien X, the all-powerful alien form introduced in the sequel series, deserves to play an actual role in the story of Ben’s growth as a character, and the perfect time to introduce him is when Ben is still selfish, bratty 10-year old. Instead of being annoying, ineffective know-it-alls that make teenage Ben seem more righteous, Alien X’s additional personalities Bellicus & Serena should be safeguards put in place to keep Alien X’s powers from being abused, antagonists who aren’t villains but still oppose Ben because they (correctly) don’t want him to use Alien X for nefarious purposes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bellicus knows about that time you stole ice cream, Ben.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This would force Ben to prove his righteousness and compassion for others in order to use Alien X, giving him a reason to avoid using the transformation without placing blame on Bellicus & Serena. When a world-ending meteor hurtles towards Earth, Ben tries everything he can to stop it and turns to Alien X as a last resort, tears streaming down his face as he tries to convince Bellicus & Serena to help him save his home as well as everyone living on it. Moved by Ben’s emotional breakdown, they oblige him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alien X isn’t just an opportunity for Ben to demonstrate his growth as a character, it’s a opportunity to have multiple characters gain a better understanding of each other, where Ben learns that Bellicus & Serena aren’t some strict old fogeys and where they learn that Ben has the potential to become a noble, kind young man.
General miscellaneous ideas:
Tumblr media
Ben babysits the Incursean Princess Attea and gets a taste of his own rambunctious medicine.
Tumblr media
Kevin has to work with a lovable but dim-witted Argit voiced by Matt Jones (Badger from Breaking Bad, Wedge from Final Fantasy VII Remake)
Tumblr media
The Vreedle Brothers are less like rednecks and more like cowboy parodies (Rhomboid being an expy of Jet Black from Cowboy Bebop)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Since the original episode that featured Kai Green, Ben’s biggest crush, ended with her being in the wrong and Gwen telling her off, I want to see a plot where Kai and Ben are dating, but she’s only interested in Ben when he turns into an alien, where Ben needs to see that it’s not a healthy relationship and break up with Kai.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Grandma Verdona and the Anodites deserve to be a running plot point, but instead of Gwen turning into a flying purple space alien, let’s have Ben’s DNA unlock an Anodite alien form (voiced by Tara Strong) for him to turn into. Maybe even have an ep where Ben has to spend a day locked inside a feminine body where he learns that girls don’t have as many ‘cooties’ as he thinks.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Where the original series had a Gwen 10 au episode, I propose a Ben 10 x Gwen 10 multiverse crossover. What happens when our Gwen gets captured and Ben has to work with somebody who can use the Omnitrix better than he can?
Tumblr media
Grandpa give Ben advice.

For the Ben 10 road trip fic I’m working on I wanna make Kevin go monster form again but for one specific reason.
In my rewrite, Gwevin have four kids. One of them, named Dylan, is somehow completely human and even when her dad is like twice his normal size, got enough arms to make a spider jealous, an uneven amount of eyes, and far too many different textures between fur and craggy skin, she’s just in awe and thinks he’s cute and talks about how amazing her monster dad is.
Imagine the confusion on Kevin’s face, as he blushed fifty shades of pink and red, wondering why all of a sudden he feels like fucking jelly cause of a seven year old little girl, never mind his daughter. A.k.a He’s 100% a girl daddy and she can break him without trying.
(I also wanna draw them both but Dylan is wearing a Belle dress cause she would 100% think of her dad like The Beast in the movie.)

Note
2, 17, 21 (for any fic you want), 23, 47 (for GX rewrite)
:)
Thanks bestie for the ask.
2.
Tumblr media
Thr First five tags... Huh they actually do fit my writing stlye ngl. Most of it is just Crack, some Fluff, most of them I do just question my sanity half of the time and I do use Dub since I love the dub of anime Imwatch.
17.
The AU I want to write/read is actually something I am not familiar since I have yet to read the manga, which is Yuno with 2 Grimoires since one of them is because of his previous life and the other one because it is his True of something called Star Magic, with him and Asta being OP and some Yuno X Charmy as well with Asta Being shipped with Mimosa or Noelle, not quite sure.
But I want to read is Sasuke in Ben 10 world where Works with them and not Being bashed at all.
21.
A missing scene, huh? Probably either Kiku kissing Theodore in Link VRAINS so everyone knows that he is taken or Celina making brownies which gives everyone food poisoning, but only Jaden enjoys it.
23.
A trope I would love to write is the red string Soulmate AU, which I think it is just adorable in my opinion. The ones I think I want to write it for is either Skye/Yusaku, Yuno/Charmy or Molly/Ollie.
47.
That shoe would...be interesting ngl. Well the shoe at the very start will be slightly rough, but not uncomfortable with the ending part be smooth Like butter. It will be a collaboration from all shoe companies, but it Will be mainly from Nike. Lastly, it will be similair to other shoes, but it Will have the same feeling as them.

The Malware Rewrite Part 2: Present and Overall Arc
Heads up: This is part 2 of the Rewrite project.
If you haven’t yet, read Part 1, ‘cause a bunch of things in here will not make sense if you go in blind.
If you have, welcome back!
As you probably guessed by the title, this part will focus on Malware’s appearances in the presence, meaning the flashbacks that take place after “Trouble Helix” and OVs present, how I would change them to improve his story and his character arc in general. Part 3 will be focusing on the end of said arc and his redemption.
Alright, on with the Rewrite!
Of Predators And Prey:
Let me take this opportunity to mention something I forgot about in part 1. The ending of “Trouble Helix” would still be Khyber extracting the data he needs, but it’s not entirely clear which time period he got it in.
To clear up any confusion: In the Rewrite, Khyber gets his info on Ben’s powers and Malware’s whereabouts shortly after “Trouble Helix”, maybe about a few months later or so.
So Malware being back on Ben’s ass in “The More Things Change, Part 1″ would not be anachronistic. (No, I totally did not register this little writing fumble of mine only after I posted part 1 of the Rewrite, what are you talking about, haha ^^’‘)
Malware’s appearance in “Of Predators and Prey, Part 1″ Is kind of perfect as it is, but in order to fit in with the Rewrite’s story, I’ll have to tweak it juuust a little bit.
So Malware returns to Dr. Psychobos’ lair after his fight with Ben in “The More Things Change, Part 1″, having successfully obtained Omnitirx-software.
The thing that would be most changed in this version of events would be the dialogue and one scene in particular.
So in the original, when Malware shows him the software, Psychobos, after being a dick about Malware’s condition messing it up a bit, asks him how he managed to get it in the first place, then shows disbelief when Malware tells him he got it from battling Ben 10. To which Malware retaliates by grabbing and throwing him.
In the rewrite, the conversation is instead more about Psychobos’ and Malware’s current arrangement and how it came to be.
Tumblr media
Psychobos: “Hmm. Crude, corrupted, incomplete. But still, a suitable partial blueprint. So breaking you out of that little private prison Azmuth built for you wasn’t a c-c-complete waste of resources after all. Though your defective state might prove to make this task challenging.”
Malware: *grabs Psychobos and lifts him up* “Your opinion of me is not my concern, Cerebocrustacean. Can that massive, pink blob you call a brain built an Omnitrix from this?”
Psychobos: *uses his electric powers to shock Malware, prompting him to yelp and let go* Sir, and I use the term loosely, I would suggest you keep your hands to yourself, if you know what’s good for you. As for your question, constructing a level 20 tech-device will be no more difficult for me, than it would be for a baby G-G-Galvan to soil it’s undergarments.”
This change in conversation establishes a few things from the get-go:
It was Psychobos, probably with help from Khyber, that broke Malware out of his imprisonment.
Malware may work with Psychobos, but only out of necessity. He doesn’t like him one bit.
Psychobos sees Malware not as an equal partner, but as a pawn and looks down on him for his incomplete state. Yet he also seems to have plans for him. Why else would he go to the risk of breaking him out of a high-security facility?
Psychobos is not a pushover. He’s able (and willing) to use force, in order to keep his associates in check.
Malware’s appearance in “Of Predators and Prey: Part 2″ stays unchanged, since literally all him and Psychobos do in that episode is picking up Khyber and roasting him about getting his ass beat by Ben and Rook.
Though I think it would be Psychobos who tells Khyber that “for his sake” it would be better to do the job right next time, since I wanna make Psychobos into a more threatening villain in this Rewrite.
Outbreak:
As with “Of Predators and Prey” before, I would make only minimal changes to Malware’s  apearances in the episode.
The beginning stays the same, but with a few tweaks. Khyber is still struggling to get control of Zed after her Nemetrix malfunctions and Malware complains to Psychobos how the Nemetrix is very obviously not working.
But while Psychobos complains, Malware notices that Khyber is breaking out a whip-like device, obviously to get Zed under control. Before he can use it, Malware steps in and uses his strength and size to subdue Zed peacefully. He also gives her a few barely noticeable pets after she calms down.
This scene is to show that Malware is capable of empathy and also foreshadows another change to his backstory I want to make in ths Rewrite, but that I won’t spoil here. Basically, Rewrite!Malware has a soft spot for Zed in that moment because she, like him, is suffering from the incompetence of the person who was supposed to take care of her.
Psychobos gives his spiel about how they need the Omnitrix’ core to complete the Nemetrix, which is going to be a tad tricky because, as Malware remarks, Ben has the Omnitrix and he’s currently in the very well guarded Plumber Headquarters. Khyber immediately volunteers to get it, but Malware counters that Khyber’s obsession with making Ben a hunting trophy will just cause him to mess up again and that Ben is inconsequential to their actual goal. Khyber argues again and while doing so uses the weird laser-device he had in that episode to incarcerate Zed, which obviously causes her pain.
Cue Malware aiming hs Tachyon-gun arm at Khyber and threatening to un-alive him if he can’t control “his mutt”. However, with the added scene from before, this remark and action hold a bit more weight, since Malware isn’t just being a murderous asshole here like in the original episode, he’s relating to and defending someone he relates with from her abuser.
Psychobos jumps in, electrocutes both Malware and Khyber and then skittles off to get the Omnitrix core himself.
Malware would show back up together with Khyber when Psychobos returns with the core and repairs the Nemetrix, stabilizing Zed. Instead of Malware it’s Khyber who starts to bitch about how things were done. Because Psychobos went to Plumber HQ, Khyber didn’t get his chance at a rematch (rehunt?). Psychobos tells him that Ben isn’t important to their plans while Malware is patting Zed in the background who is obviously ejoying it.
Smash cut to black as Psychobos does a hammy evil laugh.
Malefactor
So here’s where I’ll make one of the biggest changes. Because “Malefactor” isn’t going to just be a part flashback-episode anymore. It’s going to be a Malware-centric flashback-episode. One half will be the flashbacks, the other will be the regular episode. Because let’s be real, the Mt. Rushmoore flashback was superfluous as heck and really only served to explain where Malware got his gun-arm. We can just do a slight retcon and still fit that little detail in.
We start right off with a flashback, this time with Malware still in the secure facility Azmuth put him in to ignore him some more to keep him safe so he could work on his cure. Malware is sitting in his cell, not really doing anything. He hears some steps and looks up.
Malware: “I figured it would be you. Haven’t you gotten tired of trying to ‘redeem’ me by now?”
???: “Nope! Besides, without me who’d interrupt your regularly scheduled brooding?”
The person steps into the light and reveals herself to be....Eunice, smiling.
Now the Ben and Rook parts of the episodes would remain unchanged, with Ben fighting Zed and Rook fighting Khyber. Aside from the episode’s ending, there won’t be too many changes here, so let’s focus on the flashback parts first and foremost.
The flashbacks delve more into Malware’s time in imprisonment after the events of “Trouble Helix”, how he met Eunice and how she kinda had a hand in his mental state improving. Until Khyber broke him out, that is.
Eunice is revealed to have been moved to the facility after completing her last mission for Azmuth and because Azmuth is a shitty father who doesn’t know how to communicate with his offspring outside of a professional enviroment, he just shunted her off to do a job very few people wanted until he had another mission for her.
So Eunice plays the part of Malware’s warden in-between missions. Unlike all his other wardens though, she isn’t afraid of him. She’s friendly and open, talking to him without a hint of scorn and treating his disablity not as something that makes him a horrifying monster, but simply a part of him.
Surprisingly the two get along quite well. Malware is still a bit distrustful of her, but he still talks to her more readily than he does to everybody else. They bond over both being anomalies and beings Azmuth has dismissed as “mistakes”, with Eunice even telling Malware about how Azmuth wanted to throw her into storage after she emerged before being convinced otherwise by Ben. This would lead to an exchange a little bit like this.
Malware: “And despite this, you continue to be in Azmuth’s service?”
Eunice: (shrugs and smiles) “It’s not that bad. At least running errands for him means I don’t get to see him that much.”
Malware: (huffs) “Then I suppose I should be grateful for my imprisonment as well. He has not bothered to show up here at all ever since he had me put in this cell.”
Eunice: (looks at him sadly) “Malware, I know you’re angry at him. And you have every right to be. But believe me when I say, he is trying to find a cure. It just-”
Malware: “Takes time?”
Eunice: ...
Malware: “I have heard that many times before.”
Of course Eunice still works for Azmuth, so she isn’t there all the time and has to leave quite often to do whatever errand runs or other jobs he assigns her.
And let’s just say the time in-between Eunice’s shifts isn’t all rainbows and sunshine for Malware. His talks with Eunice have become the few bright spots he has in his existence, though he would never admit to it. All of his other wardens don’t exactly treat him like a person, more like a caged beast. And a big reason for that is that everyone knows about his attack on Galvan Prime and his taking the First Thinker’s assistant hostage.
That being said, they don’t exactly treat Eunice right either. To the Galvans she is little more than Azmuth’s intelligent robot that he sends out to do his dirty work now and again and while they respect her abilities, they don’t really respect her personhood.
It’s yet another thing Malware and Eunice bond over, which would have another dialogue in the vein of Malware questioning how Eunice turned out so different from him. Azmuth treated her like trash, still does and while the other Galvans aren’t nearly as bad, their behavior toward her leaves much to be desired.
Eunice would respond that it does bother her how she’s treated and that she would be lying if she said she feels no resentment at all toward Azmuth, but that she has decided long ago not to let others determine who she is. She isn’t a tool or a thing, she is Eunice. She knows this and so do those who really matter. Besides, she would add with a little smile, back when she emerged she had someone who showed her kindness when she was scared and insecure and who helped her assert her identity and stand up for herself. This showed her that the galaxy isn’t just filled with jerks like Azmuth who would dismiss her for being who she is. Just because others think you’re unnatural or a monster doesn’t mean you are. You still decide on who you are at the end of the day through your actions. Malware grows silent at this and seems to honesty think it over.
The last part of the flashback would take place at a point in time where Eunice was absent from Malware’s prison due to another mission she had to do for Azmuth. Malware is already a little down in the dumps because of this and it doesn’t help that the other wardens are being their usual “pleasant” selves toward him. And of course, this is when Khyber stages his assault on the prison to free Malware.
Khyber pretty much curbstomps the security together with Zed and walks over to Malware’s cell, who was kinda just forced to watch all this happen without being able to do anything.
Malware: “Who are you?”
Khyber: “Your ticket out of here.”
He disables the lock and the force field keeping Malware in his cell dissipates. Malware is hesitant because 1. he doesn’t know this guy and he has pretty severe trust issues already 2. maybe part of him is still hoping that Azmuth will find a cure like he promised and running away might throw a wrench in that.
And then comes the security back-up and what would they carry with them but the big, scary Tachyon cannon. It was originally meant to be strictly a back-up weapon, to be used only if Malware really went off the deep end and started actively attacking or even killing people.
But because the Galvan wardens see Malware as an out of control monster first and a person second, they bring it along - and actually shoot him in the ensuing scuffle. Now what happened in the original Mt. Rushmoore scene happens here: Malware reassembles and is now royally pissed. He grabs the Tachyon cannon from the security squad holding it, absorbs it and makes it part of himself, resulting in his second mutated form.
Malware then lowers his gun at the Galvans who now suddenly try to appeal to his better nature, explaning that the Tachyon cannon will do severe damage if he fires it at them. Malware gives his chilling “A bonus” - remark, only now you can kind of understand where this cold-bloodedness is coming from. Those are the jerks who have treated him as less than an animal and were fully prepared to shoot him dead then and there. Now that he has a modicum of power over what are basically his abusers, of course Malware’s not in a merciful mood.
But just then, who should appear but Eunice, finally back from her latest mission and immediately rushed over when she heard the holding facility was apparently under attack. So she runs into the room, sees Malware aiming the cannon at the scared Galvan guards and Khyber and Zed standing next to him, Khyber looking pretty amused about the whole thing.
Eunice calls out to Malware in the hopes she can talk him down and prevent the situation from escalating. She half-succeeds. Seeing her does calm Malware down enough to refrain from blasting the Galvans, probably remembering what she said about not letting the world turn him into a monster. But there’s still no way he’s gonna let himself be locked up again after all this is over. So instead he thinks fast and fires into the ceiling, causing parts of the building to collapse. In the ensuing chaos, Khyber, Zed and Malware manage to get away and onto Khyber’s ship, which then manages to fly away from Galvan B unhindered.
After they’re in the clear, Malware demands to know why the heck he was just freed by a total stranger and Khyber would merely make some quips about how Malware has a short fuse and then be a dick and say his temper’s probably due to his defective DNA after which Malware comes very close to beating him up. Khyber prevents a fight from breaking out by saying that he’s not the mastermind behind Malware’s break-out and that he has a feeling Malware and the mysterious client he works for will understand each other really well.
So they arrive at Psychobos’ base and Psychobos welcomes Malware, introduces himself and probably brags about his intellect. Malware tells him to get to the point and Psychobos explains that he’s been watching Azmuth’s affairs for some time now. Of course he caught wind of Malware, as well as the incident in “Trouble Helix”. And he decided to pick up where Azmuth evidently left off. In other words, he’s going to fix Malware. This results in this exchange.
Malware: “And what exactly do you gain from helping me?”
Psychobos: “Well, my friend, and I use the term extremely loosely, succeeding where that arrogant G-g-galvan has failed will prove once and for all that Cerebrocrustacean are the superior species in the g-g-galaxy.”
End of flashback.
Back in the present, things go just like they did in the canon episode up to a certain point. Ben realizes Khyber and Zed are just distracting Rook and him, calls Rook about it, Khyber tells Rook that he should probably check the Proto-TRUK and Rook passes on the information to Ben who immediately makes a mad dash for the TRUK while Khyber and Zed retreat.
Ben arrives at the truck and catches Malware accessing the TRUK’s computers. As in the original episode, Ben is shocked and horrified that Malware is still alive. Malware for his part isn’t exactly thrilled to see Ben and makes that clear though his body language and tone of voice, but he’s a bit less cruel about it than in canon.
For one, he isn’t being gleefully sadistic when he warns Ben not to follow him and just stay out of his business in general. He just...genuinely tells Ben to stay out of this, similarly to how he did in “Trouble Helix” when they first met.
He then runs off, leaving Ben to work thorugh all of that. Rook arrives and Ben tells him that Malware took something from the TRUK and that Rook should find out what it was while he goes to stop Malware, once and for all. To fit what I want to do with this rewrite, the way he says it would be a whole lot more sinister and less heroic will power-like. It’s clear that Ben has some sort of deeply personal grudge against Malware and that it makes him want to put Malware down, but in this case this wouldn’t be portrayed as a good thing, but rather a “hero gets lost in murderous rage”-thing.
Ben transforms into Humongosaur and chases after Malware. They have their banter where Malware is dismayed that Ben didn’t heed his warning about staying put and Ben jokes about how he was never good at following orders. They have a quick brawl and now is where I put another big change.
In the original episode, Malware distracts Ben by chucking a fuel truck at a bus full of kids, basically forcing Ben to choose between apprehending him and saving the children. Needless to say Malware being willing to potentially kill a bunch of children wouldn’t work with his being redeemed in this rewrite, so let’s change that up a bit.
Instead of the fuel-truck-school-bus-situation being a calculated action by Malware, now it’s an accident. During the fight either Malware or Ben/Humongosaur crash into the fuel truck, pushing it down the road and towards the just now arriving school bus. Ben and Malware notice this at the same time.
Ben/Humongosaur takes a quick look at Malware, growls in frustration, then makes off to save the school bus. There’s a tense moment where it looks like Ben/Humongosaur won’t be able to reach the fuel truck or the school bus in time. And then, all of a sudden, a car flies right past him barely missing him. Ben/Humongosaur dodges on instinct, but the car doesn’t hit him and it’s seemingly not even headed for him. Instead it hits the fuel truck, making it turn away from the bus and saving the children and the driver in the process.
Ben/Humongosaur runs up to the bus to ask if everyone is alright and the kids cheer in response. Ben/Humongosaur looks back where Malware was standing, only to find that the Mechamorph is gone. Ben/Humongosaur frowns.
Ben arrives back at the Proto-TRUK and him and Rook discuss what just happened. Rook can’t tell exactly what Malware took, only that parts of the memory core and some of the auxiliary power systems were destroyed. He asks who Malware is, since he can’t exactly call up his Plumber file right now.
In the original, Ben calls Malware a psychopath for obvious reasons, but with how we’re doing this rewrite, that wouldn’t make much sense anymore. Yes, Malware is still an antagonist and there is still bad blood between him and Ben, but with what Ben has observed today with Malware seemingly saving kids, he’s conflicted on what to think or feel.
So in this rewrite Ben instead says:
Ben: “Short answer, he’s a Galvanic Mechamorph with serious anger issues. Long answer?-”
They get interrupted by a kid and the episode ends like it did in canon with Ben getting trolled by his boyfriend partner again.
And there you have it!
Part 2 is complete. Now all that’s left is for us to finally wrap things up in Part 3.
Including Eunice in Malware’s story is honestly such a no-brainer, I’m surprised I didn’t think of it sooner. They’d have the best and most wholesome sibling-dynamic, no you can’t change my mind. And Malware having at least someone who genuinely cares about him was a nice thing to write. Eunice will play a very big part in Malware’s redemption in Part 3 and I really liked the idea of her idealism and positivity playing off of Malware’s jaded and bitter personality. They’re so similar yet so different and I’m convinced if they’d ever met in canon, they would have been friends.
Tell me what you think of Part 2 and stay tuned for Part 3!

Better idea Frank and Chadsmuth have to work together to clear Bens name in the space trial. And throughout the episode Frank just slowly grows more and more irritated with Chadsmuth. I think this is the episode Rook has to keep Ben and Frank from killing him.
Bonus: Frank does all the work and Chadsmuth is really unhelpful
Actually yeah this is a better idea
Frank ends up getting so fed up with Chadsmuth that he pushes him off his hover chair
Also the idea of Rook trying to prevent both Ben and Frank from tearing Chadsmuth to shreds is absolutely hilarious

U mentioned early 2010s ... how old were u back then? 5 or 6...?
ok so basically when i was growing up my mum banned me and my siblings from watching a lot of kids shows. i have never watched spongebob or adventure time or victorious or icarly or tawog or even DORA because my mum didnt approve of it so… i ended up watching Other Stuff that was from the 2010s. the popular shit i could get my hands on. this was around 2012 when my mum finally bought my brother an ipad and i shit you not i learned how to watch things my parents had on their plex account (which obviously didnt include kids stuff). so YES actually i started REALLY (concerningly) young
tbf though my brain was underdeveloped and most of watching merlin and sherlock holmes and supernatural slipped right by me but i do remember thinking merlin and arthur should have kissed and being mad when they never did.
merthur introduced me to gay people and it wasnt even its intention.

Kim Possible: I am going to require you all to go to therapy.
Danny Fenton: My last therapist tried to murder my sister and then frame me for it.
Kim Possible: See, this is why! Every time you open your mouth I loose a year off my life!
Ben 10: I watched everyone in the universe get destroyed and then made a near exact copy, but its awful because I couldn't recreate my favorite smoothie flavor.
Kim Possible: YOU make me lose TWO YEARS!!!
Jenny Wakeman: I tried to make a kid's Christmas wish come true and lost a year off my life. When I regained control everyone tried to kill me.
Kim Possible: Please Jenny, not you too!
Jake Long: I stepped on my own tail once.
Kim Possible: ... And?
Jake Long: And I watched my girlfriend attempt to erase herself from existence to save my life so I then saved her by rewriting her life, erasing her memory of me and all the amazing times we shared.

Creepypasta x Fem!Proxy
I got a notification via E-Mail that someone left kudos on a fanfiction I forgot about on AO3.I deleted it and decided to rewrite it here. It's not my best work.
Their chatter and the crunching of leaves around the fresh murder in front of you didn't hold the resonating sound of the pen scribbling on your notebook to not fully grasp your attention.
Each word is perfectly put in its right place and with each glance at either the mutilated corpse not too far from you or on the policemen's observations you get closer to the calligraphic and professional sentence you always end every report. Thinking that's enough for today, you placed the notebook back in the backpack you firmly held on your shoulder, the right strap being loose to the mid of your back.
You fade away in their chatter, adding to the crunching of the leaves back in the direction you came from-the woods. You weren't in a particular hurry as today's 'true work' only beggings after two more hours when the manor will 'welcome' a new resident in. The Master dutied you to "welcome them in" as you do to every unfortunate newcomer.
Passing the same route you memorized as the back of your palm, you place your hand on a few oak trees as you pass them, some having so vaguely craved his symbol on them. The oak trees remind you of him as well, his tall and demanding figure only adding to his ghostly white, eerie presence. You were in no place to doubt his wishes, and neither were any of your colleagues-but out of his reach, if that's even possible, you can be curious about his ways of resolve.
The mere thought of a new resident sends shivers down your spine and a pounding headache. To have to deal with another mentally unstable rapist or murderer only adds to the stress of living in his manor.
The crunching on the leaves stops as you grab your bag one more time, ruffling a bit inside of it before pulling your mask out and adjusting it on your face. Not wasting any time you get the notebook out and enter the end point of your destination-an old-fashioned manor that was housing about 15 people. A single push of the enormous marble doors gets them opened, letting the remaining light of the day shine on the dark red material. Closing them back makes you think they're heavier, a deep thud resonating through the silence of the manor before it was accompanied by a pair of footsteps that faded as quickly as they came.
You decided to pay them no mind and to finish your task before the sun could set, ignoring the pair of glowing green eyes that thought they could stalk you from the darkest corner of the room.
"Home so early?" BEN asked with a grin on his face.
The manor has three main floors and many other pairs of stairs, each leading to different parts of the building, but now you were heading to the very last floor, on the very top of it where a room stood out in particular from the others. The last floor was made of a set of 10 inhabitable rooms, in the center of them being one room made out of various shades of red that gave an expensive yet eerie feeling around it. As soon as someone enters the last step and makes their way on the floor, low static begins as the walls start to become suffocating. Each window is shut and hasn't been opened since the day you came here. As you approach the habitated room, the 11th one, the static only grows, but you learned how to combat it, even if the air becomes thicker with each passing secound.
There you stood,in front of The Master of this manor, your rescuer and provider, even with closed doors you felt his gaze piercing your soul, shattering it apart. A different static sound could be heard-the signal that you were free to enter. The room looked as clean as ever, the window behind the tall figure holding no dust particle despite not anyone cleaning it,not even the books on either side of the room had any sign of age on them.
Taking your mask off you reglated your voice and started your statement."I've bought the very few details of Jeffrey's victims."
Silence. Placing the open notebook on the counter you waited for his response, but he didn't even looked at it. Even if his face held no expression, you could feel the tension that beared it.
He finally gave attention to the notebook in front of him for a bare second before returning his head to the clipboard in front of him. A few moments had passed, yet the only thing that was heard was your thumping heart inside your chest.
"Dissmised." you gently bowed your head before you took your notebook back and walked straight out of his office. The familliar creature in front of you turned into something darker as time progressed.
The silence of the manor was disturbed by the chatter of two masculine voices. "Piece of shit Rogers.." a faint click was heard accompanied by some heavy coughs. The man's comment was responded with a few shakes of a pill bottle.
"You still had some?" you could recognize this raspy voice in any nightmare,Masky's or Tim's bickering being present even in your sleep. Most residents prefer to not use their real name if they can avoid it,mostly to show the lack of empathy and to amplify the need to show that we're strangers to each other.
"I gotta look out for myself." his partner and friend that lead him to this manor 3 years ago stated. "We're murderers,Brian." Masky replied, half annoyed that his friend isn't understanding of his stress regarding his 'work'. You decided to ignore your partners, making yourself as small and as silent as possible to ride up the stairs to the silence of your room, appealing to your proxy skills, but to not much succes.
"Where you've been, bitch?" the white masked man barked. "Ditching work for a few notes isn't some lead shit, isn't it?" he continued as he dragged a long puff from his cigar. "Respond motherfucker." he flicked the cigarette down and as he was about to make his way to you Hoodie shaked again his bottle of pills. "You're tired. Get some rest." Masky snatched the pill bottle and walked the other way, adjusting his mask back on.
Should you thank Hoodie? No,what he did wasn't for your sake, but for this manor's moments of silence before the storm. There were a set of unspoken rules, each one of us knowing them the moment we set foot inside this haunting place. Fights were not allowed inside public rooms, all conflict is either in one's intimacy or outside the manor's quarters. Masky's temper almost made this rule impossible to follow but Hoodie's calm demeanor complimented his fiery personality perfectly. Maybe that's why they came together here in the first place.. "How long now?" Hoodie's voice snapped you out of your thoughts. "One month until the police said they will have a lead." after a few moments of silence his silvery voice responded "Son of a bitch." he got up and walked after his partner,no other word being exchanged in return.
We were in a sticky situation at the moment, you were only the voice mail of it. Every now and then you are tasked to go out in town to find out if there is any evidence that could lead to the murderous activity of this manor. Every source of evidence is destroyed by any means, the digital evidence is handled by BEN and the human one is handled by the occupats of this manor. Proxies, such as you and the other three men are put to tougher missions, including getting rid of the bodies from the other's killings.
Recently, Jeff was tasked to get rid of papers in a detective's house but his careless attitude didn't calculate that his wife was home, resulting in his need to get rid of her.
She managed to run but not too far off as she was killed in the place you just attended. Since his job wasn't to get rid of the body,he called in a proxy, not even bothering to hide the evidence. From what you managed to hear,Toby was the only proxy available at the moment and his arrival was late because of the encounter of a creature on his way out the woods, resulting in others finding the body. You only massaged your temples to the tought of him anxiously walking around his room, waiting for The Master's punishment.
A few knocks got your attention, making you open the doors in an instant after giving your clipboard one more look. It held the information of the new resident of this manor, its name being on the very top in bold letters, your thumb holding the clipboard on 'Cody's' family name.

Check out the new redesign video! I mention before I am reworking things behind the scenes on how I wanna handle the rewrite, and this is one of them. A lot of ideas are still shuffling around, and many things aren't 100% official and can be changed. Though most of what might appear in this video and in future videos is most likely going to be the most official on whatever I make. So if you want to see more on this rewrite project, please watch and support if you can! 💚

Happy 7th Anniversary to the Ben 10 Reboot!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This series is (unpopular opinion I'm probs gonna get killed for) one of my favorite shows to watch, as well as one of my comfort shows. I've been a fan of it since I was in middle school and am still a fan of it to this day as a sophomore in college. While it does have its flaws, I still have fond memories of it and always will.
Fun Fact/Update: I was originally going to post a post (no pun intended) talking about a B10RB rewrite/au project of mine I'm developing called Ben 10 Reboot Reimagined, but I couldn't finish it in time for the 7th anniversary (which I truly apologize for), but I do plan on posting it sometime this month when I finish it.

If I thought the Transformers (Aligned) timeline was convoluted, god the Trollhunters timeline is fucked beyond all hell, and worse of all because they use Merlin - bloody MERLIN - as a character that created the amulet there's an upper limit of time Trollhunters have existed before, heck even Myrddin Wyllt his welsh name (and canonical alternate name in the show), Merlin stops being the Merlin from human myth and starts becoming Merlin a similarly named folkloric character in troll myth-
I wonder if I, a fan coming in at minimum 2023, am arriving to this a little late but- if this isn't going to be a timeline rewrite then let me complain about how specific canonical details contradict with one another, including the glaringly obvious issue of Wizard's addition to the timeline, making Deya the Deliverer the first Trollhunter and thus practically erasing most of the historical Trollhunters or conforming to fit them all in a timeline of 900ish years.
I'll address the elephant in the room when we get to it, but let's set up the basics, both for me and any viewer not already in the know (given that my audience is mostly from transformers and ben 10, I'd say it's a lot of you).
Trolls and humans got off to a bad start, humans living on the surface and trolls having originated from a realm called the Darklands, accessible from a bridge (a gateway) Kilahead bridge. Like with any civilisation there are good and bad trolls, the baddest being Orlagk the Oppressor, leader of the Gumm-Gumms. Having been introduced to the surface, trolls fought with the humans who already lived on it creating the War for the Surface Lands, and their fighting lead the first Heartstone (a gigantic magical gem that serves as the centre of troll caverns, healing them and providing power) to corrupt and birth Gunmar. This war lasted for millennia, Gunmar taking over leadership of the Gumm-Gumms after slaying Orlagk at some vague point, up until the Battle of Kilahead Bridge where the Gumm-Gumms were sealed away in the Darklands again thanks to the Trollhunter Deya the Deliverer.
Okay, sure, that doesn't sound very bad at first, up until you realise that the Battle of Kilahead Bridge was 900 years prior to the series (2016 was it's release date) and thus in the year 1116 AD give or take; the legend of Merlin as a magician, a wizard, was in the 12th century which would've been instead at minimum 1300 AD that's 200 years of difference. Not to mention Angor Rot - a character and antagonist in the show - came begging for magic to stop Gunmar's armies from destroying more and more independant troll tribes, like his own, in 1200 AD at least. Why in the fucking hell would Angor Rot bother to risk his own soul asking for magic, from a sorcerer known as (among many things) the Eldritch Queen, if Gunmar and his Gumm-Gumms were already kept within the Darklands. Gunmar's son Bular, the one Gumm-Gumm to not be banished, is surely not that much of a threat to not one but multiple villages it would send someone to the doorstep of the Pale Lady. In addition, Angor Rot was responsible for killing at least a few Trollhunters, one known and named being Voltar the Voracious, who was the only Trollhunter given an exact year of choosing in 1578. And the fucker is listed BEFORE Deya on the wiki but that alone doesn't mean anything, however she does die in 1620 to Bular, 396 years before the show.
Alright then, so you look at Merlin's mythological existence and go 'now what about the whole thing about millenia' because 12th century doesn't allow the War for the Surface Lands to have a Trollhunter, even with 11 named Trollhunters that come presumably before Deya (Unkar the Unfortunate, despite being trained by Blinky who in human standards - assuming his human body tells us his age - is probably about middle age give or take, fought in the time Gumm-Gumms were still around even if slain by Bular). Given that Trollhunters itself references Merlin's original Welsh name Myrddin (and his in show last name is Ambrosius, which would be Emyrs in the original Welsh, as opposed to Wyllt for 'of the wild), I thought that potentially looking into when Myrddin first came around I would be able to get a better timeline; Myrddin Wyllt was said to have been born - and not just the legend - in 540 AD, which gives between that and 2016 1476 years to work with, allowing the 400ish years ago that Deya died (and the 438 years from when Voltar had the amulet) and the millenia's worth of war the War for the Surface Lands took.
Done deal, right?
Well guess what, some fucker named Spar the Spiteful (not even the first Trollhunter like Deya so proclaims to be) died 5200 years before Jim, our protagonist and first HUMAN Trollhunter, ever picked up the mantle. 5200 years before 2016 is the bloody fucking 4th millenium BC. This period included the beginnings of the Bronze Age, and was the bloody time WRITING was invented! And in Spar's time, there was no DOMESTIC HORSES! HORSE RIDING DIDN'T BLOODY EXIST WHEN SPAR DIED HOW FUCKED IT THAT!?
God FUCKING DAMN IT!
Fine, I can work with this.
Merlin in the show is all the old man we think of him as in myth, but he's also still old when we go back in time to when the Battle of Kilahead Bridge takes place, albeit it without a full head of grey hairs (how does the old man age more than his teen/young adult apprentice) potentially as a young sorcerer/wizard/whatever they use these terms interchangeably, Merlin or Myrddin created the Amulet of Daylight. You could even give more wriggle room between whenever trolls came to the surface and when Merlin made the amulet, because although Orlagk was a figure explicitly older than Gunmar, there is no mention of an amulet without Gunmar simply a time when he was still not a leader. In fact, given that Merlin's original name - Myrddin - came from a riddle designed with the intent to kill Gunmar, a piece informing the Trollhunter teams how to kill Gunmar rather than Orlagk the original leader, perhaps it's befitting to make Myrddin technically younger than the trolls; given that the original purpose of the Amulet of Daylight was not to kill Gunmar but to protect trolls, seeing as how one of the keys to Gunmar's destruction is a Triumbric Stone (one of 3) that resulted in the death of Orlagk, the amulet can date to before Gunmar and have been made after the Gumm-Gumms took out their rage on other trolls instead of humans alone.
The Trollhunter after Spar the Spiteful was Boraz the Bold, named that specifically for taking on 1000 Gumm-Gumms, was killed by Bular who was - as I said - Gunmar's son. While that does not mean that Spar the previous Trollhunter existed before Bular did, it does mean that by the time Boraz was selected after Spar's position Bular was competent enough to slay a Trollhunter, especially one as 'Bold' as Boraz who felled a thousand Gumm-Gumms before falling to 1001. It would mean that his father Gunmar would be much older, potentially tracking further and further back in time and putting Orlagk's death deeper and deeper into the War for the Surface Lands, potentially even aligned Orlagk's death and the Triumbric Stone's creation to a period humans heard of Myrddin, the death of Orlagk potentially landing in 540 AD, perhaps even in 573 AD where an actual battle took place, the Battle of Arfderydd; this details a Riderch Hael, King of Alt Clut (Stratclyde, a Brittonic kingdom in northern... well... Britain, which got annexed in the 11th century AKA 1000 AD to become part of the emerging Kingdom of Scotland) slaughtering the forces of a Gwenddoleu ap Ceidio, Myrddin having gone mad watching that defeat.
The remaining named Trollhunters, ones that weren't explicitly dated and timed, are in a bullshit order on the Wiki that I just have to piece together what is being said to put together a timeline.
Maddrux the Many, he/him in the show and she/her in the comics, was canonically an active Trollhunter before another, Araknak the Agile, was either born or an actual functioning adult; Araknak is the ancestor of the previously mentioned (and assumed to be) middle aged Blinkous Galadrigal and his brother (an older brother or twin depending on who you quote) Dictatious Maximus Galadrigal, the pair being present for the Battle of Kilahead Bridge and still alive by 2016 and idk about Tatious but Blinky appears in 2017 or at least whenever RoTT takes place. To use the term ancestor instead of grandparent or even parent, which technically ancestor can be used on either anyway, means that the exact family history is undetermined. However, we can place Maddrux at the very least on the timeline where Orlagk was still active in, seeing as that was her major enemy in the comics.
At the end of her service instead of going directly to Araknak, a Trollhunter preceded him in Magmar the Molten, the only known mountain troll to be a wielder of Daylight. Interesting to note, Araknak learnt from Magmar a certain combat move so, even before his selection by the amulet Araknak was already preferring the lifestyle of a warrior in comparison to his scholar parents; a trait that outlasted the warrior spirit and descended to the Galadrigals however many years later. Mentioned specifically as preceding not only Araknak but Tellad-Urr, we have another date to place as Tellad-Urr the Triumphant - very soon to be Tellad-Urr the Terrible - was active until 501 CE where Orlagk was still alive; how convientient. It helps that Gogun the Gentle - his immediate successor - would be the only Trollhunter to die of old age, potentially because Gunmar was too busy killing Orlagk and Orlagk too busy being dead for either of them to do anything.
Hopefully Gogun was already an old fart because the oldest recorded troll Chokeenamaga lived to 5352 years and I have no idea if that's slightly above average, notably old, or specific to a troll type (like for example, mountain trolls may have the longest average lifespan of all trollkin), and it's not like I can look at the show for any reference because Draal the Deadly, son of Kanjigar the Couragous and the previous Trollhunter did not age between 900 years yet there are no troll whelps in modern Trollmarket, let alone the fact that the Battle of Kilahead Bridge according to our established Trollhunters could not have happened before 1578 but must have happened between then and 1620. And Draal is an adult in modern day but is rather impulsive and I do not know if that is simply a troll trait or the trait of a twenty something year old that should've had a different design in the past but couldn't because of the limitations of 3D show animation (Prime fans would know or at least see visually that you can't just design a cybertronian version of a bot's root mode without things getting expensive, it's why Skyquake couldn't fly despite looking the same before and after alt mode acquisition).
Speaking of age, this is also the time where Aaarrrgghh!!! was a teenager, which either means that Blinky is actually much younger than Aaarrrgghh!!! or there is another Trollhunter or few between Araknak the Agile and Tellad-Urr the Terrible; 5200 years is a lot of grounds to cover, especially with a Trollhunter dying of age between it. Tellad-Urr has an appearance similar to Kanjigar, and given that it's a book cover rather than a 3D model there may be grounds for him being of the same tribe as Kanjigar if not an ancestor like Araknak to Blinky. It could work give or take, especially since 'ancestor' is less of an official word and more of a footnote for someone's opinion, but it isn't word of god nor anything found in any media.
And keeping with age (last one I promise) Gorgus the Gorgeous, referenced in terms used by modern trolls 'By Gorgus' or 'Great Gorgus', was one of the youngest Trollhunters to be chosen. Whether he was younger than Jim Lake Jr, 16 years old at his time of getting the amulet, depends on what the hell the age of 24 fucking means to a troll. Is it the equivalent of 24 years in troll years? If so then why the hell does he begin training 32 troll years later at age 56 if he wasn't chosen to have the amulet at 24 human years old. What is 24 human years to a troll. NotEnrique, a changeling (troll whelp cursed to change into a human, can do so at will) is canonically a few centuries old, and he is fresh from the Darklands after replacing a human baby Enrique. He at a few centuries old is able to throw and host a troll party at his age, and maybe changeling's age differently and a changeling hosting a troll party would be very new because haha discrimination, but no troll flinches at the concept. And a few centuries could be considered more than 2 (being a few it's already more than 1) so the more centuries you tack on to this college type frat party host the more and more Gorgus' age becomes terrifyingly young like exorbitantly so.
If a few centuries means 'ability to host a party where full grown trolls do keg stands' then 24 probably means whelp, baby, a fucking toddler by troll standards, assuming changelings follow troll aging standards against their human mimicking physical development standards. If a 24 year old Trollhunter is only ONE OF the youngest Trollhunters, who was the youngest? Predestined at bloody birth!? Gorgus started training at age 56, presumably when he was old enough to wield a sword, being trained by none other than Kanjigar himself; Gorgus died during training when a group of Gumm-Gumms attacked, an arrow hitting him in the head. If NotEnrique was an adult, or at the very least on the cusp of it, at a few centuries old - more than 1, probably more than 2 - then what of someone at age 56, less than a few centuries, less than one. Whether Kanjigar was a father at the time or not, loosing a kid under his guidance - to death no less - would've stuck with anyone. Why was this child sentenced to death, and so young too. One can argue all the Trollhunters to failed to live up to legacy, who became their own version of Unkar the Unfortunate, were sentenced to death and fated to die young. Gogun may have defied fate and beat the ticking clock, but Gorgus the Gorgeous - a gorgeous child, a son to parents that will never see their little boy again - proved that there is no outrunning the clock for the bells toll for thee.
If Unkar was before Gorgus, then it is to be presumed that by dying on his first night - after 6 hours of training - that Gorgus the Gorgeous was failed by Blinkous in the same way Unkar had been. The next Trollhunter in line was summoned too soon, so because of Blinky's failure the trolls against Gumm-Gumms were without a defender, potentially reducing the remaining candidates for better trainers by slaughtering them before the Trollhunter was of age. If Unkar was after Gorgus, then Kanjigar needed to step away from training, even as it was his task given to the aging elder Rundle, potentially a younger but very busy Vendel, an elder by proxy of everyone else dying on the edges of Gumm-Gumm blades. He couldn't sacrifice another child to death, and as the amulet falls onto the arrogant overconfident Unkar, Kanjigar could not bare to have stone dust on his hands again. Blinkous Galadrigal (there is no mention of Dictatious despite the presence of Gumm-Gumms in Unkar's time) is tasked to train Unkar, to teach him the tennants of Trollhunter and put to good use his scholarly teachings and pray that the soul of his Trollhunter ancestor guides him. Unfortunately - as Unkar will be enshrined in by title - you cannot let a scholar do a warrior's duty.
However way it plays out, Blinky was young (or at least younger), and his failure marked his reputation for centuries.
There is a Grimbald the Grave, trained with Kanjigar AND Deya, which would definitely place that before 1620 and potentially before 1578; Voltar wasn't mentioned to have been trained by either, but given that he was the last Trollhunter before Deya (at the very least in close proximity), Grimbald most likely came before. Now this seems like a non-issue, if you consider Grimbald against our timeline nothing seems to be wrong, potentially Kanjigar's age since he's been around for a while but his son's an adult in the modern day so he could potentially be older than Blinky who knows. But I have an elephant to address and since it's been so long since I brought it up it's been drinking tea this whole time.
Wizards, the third installment of the Tales of Arcadia series, sequel to Trollhunters, introduces to audiences that Deya the Deliverer was originally Callista the Calamity, a troll who's tribe had been wiped out by humans and had been living in human custody since she was a whelp (or of an age that she had forgotten her name). Deya makes the timeline such a mess, because her first appearance in the comics, she was of an age where Rundle - Vendel's father - was the elder of Glastonbury Tor Trollmarket at the time of Deya, the Trollmarket before Dwoza which is the Trollmarket before Arcadia. Rundle was around in 501 AD, but it was his father Kilfred who was the elder and his son Vendel was of age enough to help in consulting, however old that is. In Wizards however, Vendel was the elder of Dwoza before Deya was Deya and when Callista was still an outcast, and even then he was only the elder by proxy, signs of his father Rundle or of Kilfred missing. Of course however Rundle could have been elder of Dwoza, as his father before him was elder of Glastonbury Tor, simply that he was potentially slain potentially died of old age and that Vendel being one of the few older than most of the Dwozan trolls took over in his father's stead.
The issue with Deya is that I really like the Callista part of her backstory, of being an outsider, an outcast, in the world of trolls that still hated humanity but held a deeper fear of the Gumm-Gumms. Diaspora for trolls, Callista the Calamity is seen as a human pet despite her wanting to find her way home, a home she can never go back to because it had been destroyed long ago; the one place that she could be accepted don't because they see her as too human, a far cry to being called a monster by humans but certainly not relieving. But she had become Deya, and found her footing as the Deliverer, by turning the Trollhunter from a single force to fighting alone to rallying a bunch of... gravellors? (Whatever, I like to think of Dwoza as essentially a refugee tribe given it's diversity in comparison to the Krubera tribe who are only krubera and the Quagawump tribe who are only - save for the generic troll king Angor killed - quagawumps) to fight one last fight against the Gumm-Gumms and ending the War for the Surface Lands.
...SO... that probably means that Grimbald was trained exclusively by Kanjigar after the whole Unkar and/or Gorgus ordeal and eventually got the Trollhunter's amulet himself when Deya was slain, her sacrifice delivering the migrating trolls of Dwoza a chance to get to the New World (or the Americas). Oh and their migration was after Vendel and some king wrote a truce called 'The Pact', which - I mean - it's described as a feeble truce and with a name like that I don't blame it, where they promise to stop eating humans and limited their diet to cats and used clothes which well- they might've broke on the journey to the New World because hiding in the cramped ballast of a 1600s era boat isn't fun nor is it fast. But regardless-
I think for a sense of cohesion, let me pull out an almost timeline for this post.

So, members of the Trollhunter fandom, how'd I do? If you stuck around this long, welcome to my gimmick, long posts :)
Hoo boy how should I tag this?
#trollhunters#toa#rambling#headcanon#idk this is a timeline rewrite but not a rewrite yaknow#like i'm interested in what the book timeline might have to offer#but idk#this took me several hours to write#give or take 4 hours maybe#not every trollhunter in the history of trollhunting is named because not every trollhunter has been listed#and kanjigar is only noted as the trainer of trollhunters because he's the one trollhunter to have experience with trollhunting i suppose#also- its one thing to have longevity as a species (i come from the transformers fandom those robots are fucking old)#it's another to have fathers and ancestors and dying of old age without considering how that shit works#like the oldest lived troll is in the 5 thousands right? is it the equivalent of 100 years old for humans?#like is the typical age of an elder troll 4000? is it just as likely they might cark it at 3000?#that's 80 and 60 in human terms- maybe the common age of an elder troll is 3500 at a human 70 equivalent#24 years in comparison to 5000 years is like a 6 month old human baby#56 compared to 5000 is 1 year old but surely that is not the case#trolls are apparently born egg-like... as egg-like taking a piece of each other literally and putting them together as one object#that eventually hatches into a troll whelp is egg-like... the parts i mean are heartstones which i think are hearts#draal is described to have hatched this way with ballustra and kanjigar splitting their heartstones#what the hell are gronknuts then meta answer kicking people between the legs is integral to kid comedy#okay i'm going to stop looking at my screen i don't have a mirror but my eyes feel like they're red
