Assignment after assignment. Projects, seminars and exams. Forget about dates, you are not even having time to sleep properly since the last month. Still you stayed up many nights writing all the assignments. Researching stuff needed for the seminars. Memorising all the chapters from all the subjects. Praying to get good credits every time. Even sleeping for those 3 hours a day seemed so stressful because of your piled up assignments, which your teachers just dumped on you mercilessly.
Slowly because of lack of sleep and hectic works, dark circles were visible clearly under your eyes. Headaches became regular now. You weren’t able to focus on things properly. You just… tried to go along with the flow of day. Anything you ate tasted bland making you to loose appetite. All you now wanted was a day to just… rest.
Ignoring the good morning and good night messages from a certain someone made you feel guilty. But because of work, you couldn’t even catch a break. Yes… stress was building up in you.
Researching and taking print outs for the next “group” seminar made you work even harder. Yeah as you know how there is at least one person in the group who doesn’t even attempt to do work. Now you had FREAKING two of them in your 5 member’s team. Guess what happened. You three had to now share the burden of the remaining work.
‘Good thing Sanji isn’t here to see how much of a mess I am right now’, you thought sipping your caffeine. You felt lucky that you were at least getting time to take a quick shower every day.
On the other hand, Sanji knew. He knew how terrible your work was getting, making you to give him a single reply every two days, letting him know you were alive. If you didn’t give him that reply, he’d have gotten a panic attack on how you were. No regular messages, no dates, no video calls, not a single god damn normal call. He was really getting worried. But he stayed patient.
Nami and Robin chan suggested him to go and meet you, but he thought if he went, he’d be a problem to you for not letting you finish your work. His heart was earning to see you. To hug you. To make you something to eat. To just… be with you.
As days passed, you were getting more and more annoyed and you started to have breakouts for almost everything and nothing. Even the smallest things were making you cry. Like once You even cried as you saw a small puppy outside your apartment.
You hated to cry. But because of this pressure you couldn’t even control your emotions. You felt like you were losing yourself.
At Sanji’s house, he and Zoro were doing dishes but Sanji couldn’t help but to worry about you.
“Its just a gut feeling but I cant help but to worry”, Sanji sighed.
“If you feel like shit, why not just go to her place?”, asked Zoro
“Tsk, Its not that easy. What if I interrupt her?”, replied Sanji washing his hands after giving the last plate to Zoro.
The green haired man took the plate and placed it into the shelf. He sighed and said, “Look cook. It’s okay to go and check on her once a while, If you are worried. Maybe she needs you too”
Sanji never thought of that. He was always insecure and felt that he might disturb you if he met you. But this gut feeling of his was telling him to atleast go and see you.
“In 5 minutes, I’m leaving”, the blond told his roommate before going into his room. Zoro just smirked before closing the shef door.
You sat in the corner of the room. Your books were still open and you knew you were supposed to study. Then… the negative thoughts hit you. Your brain wanted to play some tricks on you. And it chose this freaking time to do that.
‘Yeah… you are not gonna get good grades even if you do this’
‘Sanji is so hardworking. He’d be so disappointed to have a person like you as his lover’
‘All your assignments are worthless, stop giving yourself enough credit’, you looked into your mirror.
Tears slid down your face. You looked terrible. With messy hair, unwashed clothes, dirty room. You wanted to tear the place down. You were so hurt and pressured.
*Ring*
Your train of thoughts were interrupted by the ringing of the doorbell. You wiped your tears quickly and stumbled as you made your way towards the main door. You swung open the door and your (eye colour) orbs met the all blue orbs. The golden hair smoothly covered one of his eye. His smile brightly as seeing you.
“Aish! Y/N, how many time have I told you to check before opening the do-”, He didn’t even complete his sentence and you ran into his arms, tightly embracing him, making him to take a step back.
He instantly knew something was wrong with the way to you hugged him. He wrapped his arms around your body. You started to cry as he hugged you.
“Sanji… I… I can’t… I hate this. I don’t like this”, you whimpered between your sobs. He soothingly rubbed the back of your head.
Without breaking the hug, he pulled you inside the house and locked the door. Leaning his back on the door, with still you hugging him, he pulled you even closer. He patted your back while you buried your head in the crook of his neck.
“Y/N, look at me dear”, he asked and you slowly looked at him. His expression from worry turned to one of a sad one.
“I missed you so much”, you cried even more looking at him.
“Shhh~~ Y/N, I’m here. Please don’t cry. This hardship will pass away. Don’t let the stress eat you up”, he kissed your forehead as he calmly whispered into your ear.
Actually Sanji was also so hurt because of your situation. But if he wasn’t strong, who would encourage you.
Soothing your tears away, he kissed your eyes.
“I am sorry. I look horrible”, you sniffed and damn yes, he was not happy by the way you said it.
“Don’t ever say that. You are the most amazing and hardworking person. Give yourself a bit more credit”, he shook your shoulders as he said that.
“Listen here, you are tired, but you are still very much beautiful. All you need is a good night sleep”, he said as he pulled you towards your bedroom.
The bed was a mess. Books, papers, laptop, stationary on it. You felt embarrassed as Sanji saw you in your worst state.
“Sorry Sanji for making you see this”, you said as Sanji just made his way into the room and started to quickly clean the bed.
“You are apologising way too much Y/N. If I didn’t support you now, I shouldn’t even call myself your friend let alone your boyfriend”, he said.
Within minutes, he cleared everything up. You went towards the table to continue your work, but then, you felt your wrist being grabbed.
You looked at him and he looked at you with worried eyes.
“Y/N, I never said you should now write your paper”, he said sternly. Even though his voice was deep, his eyes showed worry.
“But I should complete it”, you said but he was quick to pull you towards him. He lifted you up with grace and walked towards the bed swiftly and plopped you on it. You couldn’t even protest because of how quickly it happened.
You tried to get up but then he decided to jump on you and cuddle you. You chuckled at how he behaved like a small child. When he heard your laugh he looked up to you, his head still placed on your chest. Oh how much he wanted to hear that laugh of yours. But you yourself didn’t knew when you fell asleep. As Sanji was looking while you laughed, you almost immediately fell asleep.
He smiled at you as you slept. He woke up and went towards your desk and sat on the chair.
Looking at the assignment that you should start, he analysed what you wrote in the roughly at the side. He took your phone and placed his thumb on the finger print scanner. Yes of course, you guys are having the healthiest relationship. He went towards the pdf of the assignment due dates and found the assignment you were working on. And damn he got angry at how many assignments you were given. The one you were working on was to be submitted the day after tomorrow.
‘Damn… no wonder Y/N had to stay up most of the night for these’, he thought as he called one of the smartest people he knew. No… it wasn’t Luffy. He has the devils Luck to pass his exams.
“Hey Robin chan! This is Sanji”, he said as he looked at the assignment.
“Hi Sanji. What happened?”, she inquired
“Robin chan, I actually need some help”, he started to ask about the assignment and how to collect the required information related to it.
Robin chan understood the situation and started to explain.
“So Sanji, Don’t waste your time searching all the websites. Just go to the websites I told you and you can see almost every possible explanation required to you”
Sanji searched on the laptop as he placed the phone between his shoulder and ear. The un-lit cigarette was dangling between his lips. The habbit of having it made him focus on things even more. But he ofcourse didn’t want to light it and make you wake up from its smell. And for gods sake, it was your divine room. He would never light a cigarette here. Soon he could see the information required to your assignment.
“Oh yes! I got it Robin chan! Thanks for your help”, he thanked her and they both ended the call after the exchanging a few more casual talks.
He looked at some other sites Robin mentioned and found everything that you required for writing this assignment. He actually wanted to write for you but, he knows that you’d feel guilty if he wrote it. So he just searched it for you. Then looked at another assignment which was the next one you had to submit in 5 days from now. So, he started to search for it and found the required information. He looked at the time and noticed that, it was already 2 in the morning. He didn’t even knew how the time passed while he searched for the information.
Sanji stretched his arms and stood up. He walked towards the bad, where you were sleeping peacefully. He smiled at you before kissing your forehead. He hugged you as he slept beside you.
The next day you woke up to the aroma of the food. You woke up from the best sleep you had. It was so refreshing and you felt so much better with it. You got up from the bed and went to the kitchen, where you saw the blond cooking for you.
You hugged him from behind as he grinned at your cute behaviour. “Good morning love”, he greeted you as he placed one of his arm around your shoulder and snuggled closer to you.
“Thanks for making this baby. I am so thankful for this”, you said pecking his cheek. He smiled and continued to make the breakfast.
“Its alright. Well, Y/N, you need to eat before you start writing the assignment. You smiled looking at him. ‘I am sure lucky’, you thought. You ate breakfast and then Sanji showed you the information he collected to write the assignment. Just when you thought you couldn’t fall in love with him more, he proved you wrong.
He was beside you leaning down with the laptop before you two as he was talking about some websites Robin chan mentioned. You placed your hand on his chin and turned him towards you then  pulled him in for a kiss.
“I think, I found the best boyfriend one could have. I’m so lucky”, you said as you hugged him
He blushed so hard when you said that.
“AHHH!! AND YOU ARE THE BEST GIRLFRIEND Y/N, I LOVE YOU TOO”
That day you both wrote the assignments together and finished them.
“Its okay to ask for help Y/N, I am always happy to help you”, Sanji said as he held the finished papers of the assignment.
You smiled back at him and said, “Thankyou Sanji. I… I’ll ask your help”
XOXOXOXO
So, I hope you liked this one shot. I felt so connected writing this. If you are facing a similar situation. Just remember. You need rest and you can always ask for help. Please give yourself credit and stay positive.

  HYUNJIN’S POV
  You were being ridiculous.
You crossed your legs, sighing as you stared at both cups in your hands in wonder. Why would you be sitting on a bench on a Monday morning with two cups of coffee ─ well, actually one cup of black coffee and one of iced Americano ─ if not to wait for someone? It was so painfully obvious that for a second you thought about throwing them away in the trash and acting as if you weren’t a… You didn’t even know how you should be calling yourself now.
You scowled, getting up from the bench and heading to the closest trash bin, settled in assuming your usual fuckboy façade to try to approach Y/N. Why would you act differently now? It wasn’t like you loved her or something… Maybe you were a little bit infatuated by the fact that she could listen and understand you better than anyone else –
See? That kind of awfully awful thought… You should be ashamed.
  You kinda were.
“Hey” Yeah… Of course, she would see and talk to you at the exact same moment you were about to throw coffee away for absolutely no reason. You exhaled slowly, closing your eyes to recompose yourself before turning around with a smug smile.
“Hey” You offered back in a husky tone.
“Did you scratch your throat or something?” She asked in confusion, frowning as she stared at your neck “You sound… I don’t know… Kinda different?” She said unsurely, hands trailing to her own throat and massaging it mindlessly.
Great… Exactly the reaction you wanted.
“Oh, no!” You cleared your throat, massaging it as well “I bought these drinks and I drank yours by mistake” You explained, handing her the cup. She narrowed her eyes at you, studying you closely before reaching for it.
“Thanks…” She said warily “What’s the occasion?” She asked, tilting her head, eyes wandering around your face before she sipped the coffee, humming in appreciation “This is really good!” She raised her brows in surprise, shifting her gaze to the cup.
“Well, I stopped by a café to buy some for me on my way here, and… Well, I remembered you have an exam today, right?” You smiled at her, knowing far too well that what you just said was bullshit “I thought you could use some real coffee today” You shrugged.
“I don’t have an exam today…” She frowned, holding the cup with both hands as she thought about it.
You fought back a smile, watching as she scrunched her nose and tried to figure out what was going on; lips slightly projected forward in something close to a pout but not quite. The way she held the cup with both hands made her look smaller than usual, and for some reason, you found it incredibly endearing. There was something soft spreading in your chest, some kind of warmth that made you want to wrap her in your arms and squeeze her but you ignored it.
Y/N wasn’t the cute little type… She would hit you for sure if you tried to do anything similar to this. You were yet to understand how she didn’t just kill you after the fake kiss at the stairs… You were lucky as fuck. She raised her eyes to you in question, making you gulp down. You had those eyes so close to yours… That nose brushing against yours… Those lips…
“You don’t? I must have heard it wrong then” You lied, sipping your drink mindlessly. Or at least, you hoped she thought all of it was natural and unplanned “Well, you like coffee anyway…” You shrugged, glancing at her as you walked together towards the stairs “Consider it a friendship treat” She hummed, nodding in mock acknowledgment.
“Why does it sound like a poor excuse to buy me something?” She laughed, nudging your side “It’s awesome to have two rich friends to pay for my stuff” She joked, taking another gulp of her coffee “I guess this one is pretty good because it doesn’t even feel like grumpy o’clock anymore” You laughed at this, smirking at her.
“Maybe it’s not the coffee but my company” You said suggestively, wiggling your brows at her, making her chuckle, “Or it could be the sugar” You said playfully, grinning when she took the bait.
“Not really, those from the stands are usually really sweet… This one is actually way more bitter than I’m used to” She admitted “But it’s g—“ You didn’t even let her finish.
“Oh? So you’re saying you prefer sweet things?” You could tell she knew you were about to make some silly input just by the way she arched her brow in expectation “If you want some more sugar, I can be your Sugar Daddy, you know?” You joked, fighting back your laughter as she grimaced at you, huffing.
“Really?” She couldn’t help but chuckle “That must have been the worst pick up line you have said in your whole life” She pointed out, grimace dissolving into a playful expression “You’re too young to be my sugar daddy, though” She reminded you, shaking her head in amusement.
“I can be your honey, then” You chortled when she choked on her coffee, pushing your shoulder lightly as she looked at you astonished.
“Oh my God… You’re a compulsive flirter, what the hell!” She whined, wiping her mouth “How can you come and show your face when you’re like this?!” She asked dumbfounded, shaking her head in disbelief.
“Did you look at my face? There is nothing to be ashamed of here” You joked, and she grimaced again in mocking disgust “Come on! You love me just like this” You said in a singsong “You said so yourself” You reminded her, making her snort.
“I do love you just like this” She agreed, offering you a small smile that made your heart flutter for a second “The amount of self-esteem oozing out of your ass is going to be my thesis’ theme, so I have to love it” You rolled your eyes when her small smile dissolved into a mocking one “I may even get a prize… I don’t think someone ever saw something as big as this” She joked, making you snort.
You opened your mouth to retort her but she beat you to it.
“Please… No comments about your dick and your hook-ups” She pleaded, furrowing her brows at you in disgust.
“Hey, I wasn’t going to say something like this!” You protested, even though it did cross your mind “I was going to smoothly change the subject to the book I couldn’t finish reading because I had to save Han’s ass that day” You threw her your best condescending smile, getting a knowing mumble as an answer.
“ I see… So you want the juicy gossip” She mocked, making you roll your eyes “I have the book back if that’s what you want… But the coffee and that not so smooth change of the subject make me think that you want to know more” She smirked.
“Not really” You shrugged, though you really wanted to know, “I just want the book back so I can finally finish it” You lied, and she nodded, clearly not buying your words “I mean it” You tried to emphasize your fake intentions but she just rolled her eyes.
“What do you wanna know?” She asked bluntly, stopping to rummage through her bag before handing you the book “We’re okay now… He needs more time and I’m okay with it” She summarized, zipping her bag close “Everything is fine and I’m late for my classes” She chuckled, hoisting the bag over her shoulder.
“So… He talked to you like an actual human being?” You sneered, and she threw you a look before sighing.
“Yes… He made a good point, to be honest” She giggled, remembering something from their conversation “He was afraid to talk to me about needing more time because he knew I’d go and try to convince him otherwise” She seemed to find it funny “Anyway… He has a lot to deal with right now, and I can wait for him to act normal again” She shrugged.
“I see…” You pursed your lips, patting the book’s cover distractedly “And what about Paris? She told me she kinda confessed to him…” You cleared your throat, trying to change the subject again.
She narrowed her eyes at you, suspicious of your question.
                                                            ////
The book was good but that wasn’t the only reason for you to be here.
You looked around the library, trying to find an inner excuse to be here apart from returning the book to Y/N, but finding nothing interesting enough. You leaned on the counter, waiting for her to show up as you mindlessly flipped through the pages, clearing your throat to see if you could catch her attention on the back. As much as you felt ridiculous doing things like this, there you were acting like a needy crushing boy…
    What goes around comes around.
Would you even imagine that one day you would be trying to catch someone’s attention instead of simply having it on your own terms? No. You wouldn’t. You could just return the book to her tomorrow ─ when you would see her in class anyway ─ but you choose to come to the library on a Thursday afternoon just to do it… Someone should be stopping you from being… A Han or something.
    Ugh.
“Oh!” She blurted when she came back to the counter, looking at you with curious eyes “What are you doing here?” She asked interested, suddenly frowning and seeming to think deeply “Shouldn’t you wait like… I don’t know some weeks to break up yet?” She seemed genuinely confused by your presence, and you found it too amusing.
“Can’t I come here to visit a friend?” You teased, arching your brow as you failed to fight back your smile.
“I mean- Well, yeah…” She floundered, clearing her throat “It’s kinda unexpected” She admitted, chuckling “Not even Chan comes to visit me in here and he actually likes to read” She joked, and you leaned on her way, resting your chin on your palm as you smirked at her.
“Well, maybe you should pick me instead” You suggested, looking into her eyes with your best alluring look but the girl seemed to be built to ignore all your charms.
“You wish” She snorted “At least, Chan doesn’t jokingly flirt with me all the time!” She rolled her eyes, bumping your nose playfully before organizing some books on a desk behind her.
“Neither do I” You said sincerely but she laughed dismissively.
Well, you weren’t jokingly flirting with her… She was just too dense.
“Anyway!” You shrugged off, placing the book on the counter with a thud “I’m here to give it back to you” You smiled at her as she glanced over her shoulders “I’ve finished it and I hate to admit it but you were right… It’s really good” And you weren’t just saying it.
“Oh? Better than your drama?” She taunted, grinning mischievously.
“You’re getting ahead of yourself” You grimaced at her, making her giggle “But I was wondering… Do you have any more indications? I may have liked it enough to read some more…” You muttered, and she smiled knowingly at you.
“I always have some good indications!” She chirped “I knew you would like it! We have a section here that is filled with books that might be of your liking… Do you want to check them out?” She asked excitedly, and you had to fight back the urge to coo at her.
She was too cute for her own good.
“Well… Why not?” You shrugged as if you weren’t interested at all “I can help you out with those” You gestured to the books pile behind her “And then you can show me this section… Maybe I’ll find something I like” She smiled at you, picking up the books and placing them on the counter for you to have access to them.
“Sounds great!” She said, studying you from head to toes “And kinda suspicious too…” She narrowed her eyes, a grin plastering on her face “First you buy me coffee and then you help me out with my work? Spill the beans” She said teasingly, and you looked at her with unimpressed eyes.
“If Chan was the one doing it… Would you find it suspicious?” You asked, arching your brow at her “You’ve been saying I’m too flirty and all that… But I’m beginning to think that you like to think I’m flirting with you, Y/N” You smiled condescendingly at her, tilting your head in a silent mockery.
“I didn’t say you were flirting with me now” She pointed out, grimacing at you judgingly “I said you were being suspicious” She reiterated “Maybe you’re the one who likes to think I want you to flirt with me, Hyunjin” She sneered, making you scoff as you looked away.
She was a too attentive piece of shit…
How could she be so perfect?
For Lord’s sake… You were wasted.
                                                              ////
You were lucky enough to not be soaked to the bones.
You walked into the classroom, fingers running through your wet hair in a slow-motion that wasn’t really intended but also not completely unplanned. You didn’t mean to make it an event but what could you do? You knew what people wanted to see. You stopped in front of the board, fixing your hair as you looked at Y/N, licking the drop of water that reached the corner of your lips.
You lifted your chin just a little bit, half-lidded eyes fixing on your friends as you stretch your neck, letting the drops slid down your throat to your covered collarbone. You could hear some gasps around, and the quiet admiration fueled your ego as you shook your head to get rid of some of the water in it. You licked your lips, biting them before making your way to your seat.
You felt Y/N’s eyes on you, lighting up your smugness.
“Morning” You smirked, tilting your head as you threw her a look, eyebrows millimetrically positioned to give off the confident and sexy vibe you were aiming for “How are you today, ladies?” You asked jokingly, taking off your coat.
“Cold” Y/N answered mindlessly, studying you from head to toes.
You chuckled at her ─ making sure your voice sounded husky enough to enhance your attempt to look desirable ─ dusting off your shirt that was half-way opened. You noticed how she fixed her gaze on your bare chest for a second, though you couldn’t really tell what was going through her mind, and you smirked at her as she did. You opened your mouth, ready to tease her about it. The ‘Like what you see?’ almost slipping from your lips.
“Aren’t you feeling cold like this?” She asked in utter confusion “It’s freezing outside…” She added, tilting her head and looking at you as if you had three heads “Didn’t you see it was going to rain today? Do you need a coat? I can ask Chan to pick up something in my room” She offered, and you had to fight all your instincts not to scowl at her.
I can ask Chan to pick up something in my room… Tsk.
  Unbelievable.
You glared at Paris as she snorted, looking at you filled with amusement. You grimaced, pretending to laugh along with her before sulking and sitting down. She pinched her nose’s bridge, trying to concentrate enough to not laugh straight to your face. You were surrounded by great friends… You scoffed, shaking your head in disbelief as you buttoned up your shirt.
“What are you talking about, Y/N?” Paris asked playfully “Can’t you see that he’s too hot to be cold?” She mocked you, giving you a teasing look that quickly turned out in a pained one as you stepped on her foot.
“I don’t think that’s how it works” Y/N chuckled, resting her cheek on her palm and leaning forward on her seat to look at both of you.
“Don’t you think he’s hot enough for heating up the room?” She continued her teasing, and you had to breathe deeply not to slap the back of her head.
“You guys are so funny… Ha!Ha!Ha!” You rolled your eyes, huffing.
                                                        ////
You should thank God for not being a spy.
You couldn’t really say you were doing a good job at hiding your newfound feelings ─ though feelings might be too strong of a word ─ from your friends. It was more than obvious that Chan would find suspicious the fact that you just fucking snapped your head to the mere mention of her name on the phone. So right now ─ as you sat on the couch, back straightened unnaturally ─, his eyes seemed to shoot a hole in your head to search for something in your soul.
“What?” You spat annoyed, trying to cover up for your slip-up with some fed-up manners that were bound to make him go away if you were lucky.
    You weren’t.
“What?” He repeated fascinated “I’m the one who should be asking it” He chortled “You almost broke your neck just to pry into my call” He pointed out, brow arching up in suspicion. You pretended not to notice his narrowed eyes and musing; humming before he finally asked it “Hyunjin… Are you into Y/N?” the amusement under his tone was heavy enough to hit you like a brick.
“Please… What is there to like about her?” You scoffed, but Chan didn’t buy it at all. He crossed his arms over his chest, leaning his back on the counter as he studied you with attentive eyes. You cleared your throat, averting your eyes from him before connecting them again.
“Well… You tell me” He sneered “I wasn’t the one who got hard because she was on my lap” He reminded you; the teasing mixing with contempt as he huffed “I also wasn’t the one who spent weeks fucking random chicks trying to get the idea of fucking her out of my system” You paled at this, the cold sweat getting to your palms.
“I wasn’t trying to –” He interrupted you with a scoff.
“With all due respect… I have known you for years, Hyunjin” He rolled his eyes “You have never once fucked so many girls in a short amount of time like this… And just after you had a boner like a bloody teenager?” He snickered, grimacing at you knowingly “It sounds like someone was trying to prove something to themselves and failed” He tilted his head, challenging you to say otherwise.
“To be fair, I didn’t fail…” You muttered grumpily “It was all good until she talked with me…” You were fully aware that you weren’t making any sense, grumbling like a kid that had just been separated from their toy.
“Care to enlighten me?” He smirked.
    Yes, I do! Fuck off…
This is none of your business!
What do you have to do with it? Are you her boyfriend?
“There isn’t much to tell…” You answered instead, shrugging at him “I realized that we have more in common than I thought… And it felt good to be listened to and have someone who understands me…” You cleared your throat “I was pretty much convinced that it was just a thirsty episode after…” You hummed, trying to search for a good word “That week…” You trailed off.
“So you actually fucked her out of your mind” He chuckled, finding it funny the way you tried to be polite about it now.
“Yeah…” You agreed embarrassed “And then she started to go after Han and it got me really mad because… Well, you know” You rolled your eyes “She was trying to make it all better and he was treating her like shit and…” You glanced at him uncertain but as his smirk dissolved into a serious expression, you knew he had understood it “Yeah” You concluded warily.
“It doesn’t answer my question” He pointed out, and you sighed.
Would he be less attentive someday?
“So I kinda pretended to kiss her to throw him off…” You mumbled, and you never saw Chan straightening his back so fast before “But I had my thumb over her lips!” You blurted, eyes widening as he uncrossed his arms.
“You did what?!” He sounded more surprised than mad, brows arched in utter disbelief “And it didn’t cross your mind to tell me this?!” He chortled “Didn’t she punch you or something? She definitely can take you down in a blink of an eye” He mused, looking for any bruises on you.
“She didn’t” You admitted, still finding it strange “I guess I was too hurt and she saw right through me… She knew that there was something wrong and she wanted to listen to me… So we talked it through and…” You played with your hands, glancing at Chan in expectation “Well, I don’t know what else to say” You shrugged.
“Just say you like her” He suggested, chuckling at you.
And that was exactly the thought you were trying to avoid all this time.
What was it to like someone? You had asked yourself thousands of times already. Was it about what you wanted them to see in you? Was it about what you wanted from them? Was it about how you felt when you were with them? Was it about the understanding between each other? Was it about wanting to be with them?
You wanted her to see you as the best one out there.
Although you found this urge silly and embarrassing, you kept acting like a fool every single time you were around her. You thought that trying to make someone like you, acting differently around them, and trying to convince them that you were the best version of yourself… It was definitely liking.
The problem was that as much as you wanted her to notice you and see you under a whole new light, you knew that there was no need to hide anything… She knew the deepest and darkest parts of you and didn’t run away. So, yeah! Maybe you were putting too much effort ─ even if you weren’t planning to do so ─ into impressing her but you knew that it didn’t matter in the end.
She liked you just the way you were.
For you, liking someone meant to be obsessed with things that shouldn’t matter at all. You didn’t expect her to do anything special… You didn’t expect her to say sweet things to you, or take care of you, or run her fingers through your hair… Well, you kinda wanted it but it didn’t really matter. As long as you had her smiling and sharing things with you… As long as she could tease you and laugh with you when you guys stumbled over each other around the campus…
You didn’t want her to go out of her way for you.
You wanted to be on her way.
You couldn’t remember a time when you felt genuinely happy with a girl… You could remember being smug as you walked around with them as if they were your new trophy. You could remember being playful and teasing and thirsty… Well, you could definitely remember being thirsty a lot of times. Yet, you couldn’t remember feeling so… At home? You didn’t even know if you could actually say something like that.
It was like she could understand all of you and still welcome you at the end of her day. It was like she could set you on fire and give you some kind of light and warmth that you didn’t feel for ages. It was like being with her was an adventure and still, you didn’t fear anything when you were beside her.
It was humiliating to feel like this.
And you probably were a hell of a masochist because you loved it.
You had to be stupid to think that all that had come from a simple talk on a Friday afternoon. You knew it was much more than that. It came from years of being disgusted with each other… Hiding and searching for the greatest weakness you could find. It came from being vulnerable enough to open up and redeem yourselves… It came from accepting each other… It came from listening, sharing, teasing, healing…
You scoffed, nodding at Chan as you met his eyes.
“Yeah… Maybe I like her” You agreed, lowering your gaze to the floor.
The problem was that Friday didn’t show you how you liked her… It showed you every single thing you were trying to ignore until now. It showed you how much you have gone through and how much both of you were connected to some extent.
It showed you that liking wasn’t quite the word you were looking for.
                                                            ////
The first step was to acknowledge your feelings.
    Bullshit.
The first step should be you burying your feet into Chan and Paris’ heads so they could stop being so painfully obvious about all of it. Was it just in your head or were they actually working together to humiliate you right now? Maybe they were just too excited… To be fair, you couldn’t understand what was going on inside their heads anymore.
It wasn’t like knowing your friend’s favorite dish was a crime, right?
Apparently, to the two holy detectives that watched every single step of yours, it was the worst of the crimes; worthy of knowing looks and teasing kicks. What a great way to live your life. You deadpanned as you looked at them, arching your brows to see Paris giggling as she retreated her leg and Chan smirking in your way. You let a hint of disgust show on your face as you wandered your eyes between both of them, wondering why ordering Y/N’s favorite dish should be an event now.
So what that you wanted to please her?
“Isn’t that like your favorite dish, Y/N?” Paris decided to play innocent. The way you had to hold back to not kick her under the table ─ just like she had been doing with you every two minutes ─ was worthy of mention on Guinness Books.
“Won’t you go to the kitchen to cook it?” Chan arched his brow playfully, and you closed your eyes to breathe deeply, trying to stay composed. You opened your eyes to stare at him, lips quivering as you held back a grimace and laughed it off sarcastically.
Of course, Y/N laughed about it as well.
So maybe on Saturday ─ when you finally acknowledge your feelings to Chan after he invited her over for lunch ─ you had let it all go to your head and tried to pretend you were a good cooker… But did he need to expose you like that? What a great friend you had! You kinda expected Chan to tease you about your feelings but you also thought it would be something more… Private, to say the least.
So, I made it for you…  You had said to her and as soon as those words came out of your mouth, Chan chortled, almost choking on his food, throwing you an amused look.
You meant made the order, right? He laughed, and Y/N giggled along with him, pushing your shoulder.
“Fucking hilarious” You snickered, scrunching your nose “You should drop Med school and try to be a comedian or something… You’re so talented” You added, utterly done with them.
“You make it too easy” Y/N mocked you, grinning as she rested her cheeks on her hands, leaning on the table “No, but seriously now!” She said, grinning dissolving to an attentive frown “Even though roasting Hyunjin is one of my favorites hobbies” You scoffed, rolling your eyes “Paris and I actually wanted to invite you guys to a party” You frowned at her conclusion, tilting your head, intrigued.
“A party?” You decided to make sure, suspicious of it.
“Yeah” Paris intervened, smiling at you “Minho got into a team!” She said excitedly, and you couldn’t help but snort, grimacing at her as if she had just told you the best joke ever.
“So what? We don’t even talk to him” You pointed out, getting a nod from Chan, who also seemed curious about their suggestion “I mean… Congratulations to him! But why would I go to a party because of this?” You questioned, narrowing your eyes at Paris.
“Well… Han—“ You chortled, poking your cheek with your tongue.
“Really?” You sneered “So Han suddenly have the time and the urge to speak to you again?” You rolled your eyes “Unbelievable…” You darted your eyes at both of them, frowning “And both of you are going to go?” You gestured between them, arching your brow.
“And hopefully you and Chan!” Paris chirped, trying to keep the mood at the table “Come on… He was having a hard time figuring everything out and finally, something worked for him!” She pleaded, offering you big doe eyes that didn’t make you flinch a bit “Come on, Hyunjin! Do it for the team!” She forced a smile, and you sighed, shoulders dropping as you did.
“What in the hell makes you think that we would agree to go to his party?” You asked tiredly “You know far too well that I don’t like him… He hates me, he punched me, he hurt Y/N… I don’t have a single reason to talk to him” You enumerated, pulling one finger at a time as you did.
“He’s our friend, Hyunjin” Y/N reminded you “We’ll keep talking and walking with him and if you both keep hating on each other it’ll make everything awkward” You scowled at her “Just saying!” She shrugged “You don’t need to come but Paris and I really want you and Chan to get along with him at some point” You tried to hold her gaze but ended up averting your eyes anyway, tsking.
“Well… I don’t have anything against him” Chan shrugged “I don’t need to go to a party to hang out with him… I hung out with Paris wanting to choke her every once in a while for all this time!” He added, chuckling as she tried to slap his arm.
“Will it hurt you to go to a party, Chan?” Y/N nagged, rolling her eyes and getting a chortle out of all of you “I’m counting on your Daddy vibes to keep Hyunjin under your wing and prevent them from fighting” She pouted, trying to convince him.
Ridiculous and yet cute… What the hell.
“I don’t even go to parties to have fun… Why would I ever go to babysit them?” He grimaced, arching his brow “Moreover… Pouting doesn’t work with me, Sweety” He smirked, patting her hand over the table “You’ll have to try a little bit harder” He sneered, and she kicked him under the table, smiling obnoxiously at him.
“Was that hard enough?” She taunted.
“What about a deal?” Paris interrupted, trying to negotiate “If we convince one of you to go by the end of the day, then both of you will come with us” She smirked, throwing you a smug look that made you scoff, tilting your head.
  “Deal” You shook her hand.
There was no way that Chan would agree to go.
                                                                ////
So you had a party on Saturday.
“How the hell did you convince him?” You whined, looking at Paris in a devasted way as you sauntered through the campus, trying to find a bench to sit down. She chuckled, nudging you and taking a look at your face before grinning mischievously, shrugging her shoulders.
“I have my ways…” She answered mysteriously, making you roll your eyes.
“You’re working together to play matchmaker, aren’t you?” She stuck her lower lip out, tilting her head in a mocking way that said ‘who knows?’ and making you shake your head in disbelief “You’re sly as hell” You whined, getting a chortle from her.
“Come on! You clearly need it!” She insisted “You’re being way too obvious, Hyunjin! Paying attention to her likings? Buying her coffee? Ordering food and pretending to cook it?” She snorted, grimacing at you playfully “Trying to seduce her with a half-opened shirt?” She broke into a fit of giggles, probably picturing the humiliating scene.
“Look, I wasn’t thinking straight at the time” You scowled at her, pouting as you thought about it “If it really was that obvious, she would have said something by now” You pointed out, and Paris snickered, giving you a thumb up in mockery.
“Yeah! Because Han was so subtle and she totally figured him out” She sneered, and you couldn’t bring yourself to disagree. In fact, Y/N was blind to any kind of romantic feelings. You could come with a bouquet and a love letter… She would still find a way to see it as a great gesture of friendship.
You were too naïve for your own good.
“It’ll be so cute to see the two of you dating!” She chirped, eyes twinkling as she clasped her hands together, finally sitting down on a bench. She looked straight at you, waiting for you to say something, but you couldn’t bring yourself to answer her at first.
Dating? Who said anything about dating? You didn’t want to date her… You frowned as you looked at Paris, unsure of what to say to her as you cleared your throat, wondering how you should put it. Yes, you might be in love with her but… Dating? You snorted. A relationship demanded too much from you… Were you ready to attach to someone like this?
  You didn’t think so.
“What is it?” She narrowed her eyes at you, suspicious of your behavior “Why do you look like…” She studied you from head to toes before settling her gaze on your face “…This?” She floundered her hand around, gesturing at you with a disgusted frown.
“What do you mean?” You tried to play dumb, sitting down beside her.
“You know far too well what I’m talking about” She accused, eyes narrowing once again “Hyunjin, by any means are you thinking about playing with Y/N as you do to the other girls?” She asked cautiously, searching for any sign on your eyes that confirmed her assumption.
“Never” You reassured her, hand going to squeeze her knee “It’s just… I mean, I don’t think I’m ready to go all in, you know? Yeah, I like her and all this… She’s my dear friend and I may or may not be in…” You gulped down, eyes darting at her as you cleared your throat “…to her” You finished, afraid to speak your real feelings out loud.
“In…To her?” She snorted, looking away for a second before throwing you a look “You’re in love with her, that’s what you are” She rolled her eyes, shaking her head in disbelief “You never did anything like this before, Hyunjin… You’re the type of guy who has people throwing themselves at your feet” She acknowledges, and you shrugged smugly, a playful smirk playing on your lips “Tell me one time you tried so hard to get someone’s attention” She requested, crossing her arms and leaning back on the bench in a silent challenge.
    Romantically?
    Not even once.
“Exactly” She grimaced, looking at you as if she could read your mind “If you don’t want to date her, why are you trying so damn hard? What is your point?” She asked skeptically, tilting her head as you opened your mouth to answer her.
Just to close it again in wonder.
She was right… Why were you trying to impress her so much if you had no intentions of actually getting into a relationship or something? It was more than obvious that Y/N wouldn’t be the kind to hook up with you and then just go with it… As far as you could tell, she had no experience in love. None. At all. There was no way she was going to just go with the flow and… And what? What were you expecting from all this?
“Hey, Hyunjin” The husky voice got you out of your thoughts, making you realize that someone was standing right in front of you. Not only someone. You remembered her from… Maybe a month ago? You couldn’t even remember last time you got laid “I haven’t heard from you for a while…” She continued; tone still sexy enough to turn your smug façade on “New catch?” She asked, studying Paris for a second, a subtle smirk on her lips.
“We’re just friends” Paris voiced your thoughts before you could, jolting her leg for you to let go of her knee. The girl chuckled, tilting her head as she seemed to eat Paris with her eyes, licking her lips before averting her eyes to you.
“Yeah… I’ve been his friend a couple of times too” She joked, winking at you “If you guys are up to more friends…” She let her sentence hang in the air, shifting her gaze in a suggestive way that made you flustered. Good Lord… She was asking Paris to join your… Oh my God.
“No need!” You blurted out, getting up abruptly “I mean- Do you want to be her friend?” You looked at Paris startled at the thought, getting furrowed brows that answered you right away “We don’t need any more friends, thank you!” You rushed to say, getting a blank stare before she averted her eyes to Paris, landing them on her for a few seconds.
“I see…” She hummed, smiling at both of you mysteriously before throwing a few glances over her shoulder as she walked away.
For some reason, it didn’t settle too well on your stomach.
                                                        ////
You snorted, rolling your eyes as you smirked at Paris.
“I’m telling you!” She insisted, leaning forwards to slap Minho softly on the knee “The girl just came out of nowhere and suggested a threesome with me!” She laughed, leaning back on the chair as Minho huffed in disbelief.
“There’s no way” He looked at you in awe “I’ve heard your reputation but… I mean- Where can I sign in?” He joked, arching his brows playfully as he chuckled. He crossed his arms, letting his body relax on the chair as he looked at you in amusement, tilting his head as he seemed to ponder something.
It turned out that Minho wasn’t as unbearable as you thought.
“You’re not really my type” You fought back a smile as he scowled, nagging at you as he gestured mindlessly for you to get off of his tail “I guess you have to be born with a pretty face like me” You joked, and he groaned in answer, throwing his head back.
“Is that what you need to get girls now? Have an obnoxious attitude like this?” He scoffed, shaking his head in disbelief as he connected his gaze to you again, trying to hide his smile “You’re not really my type either, baby boy” He scorned, grimacing at you sarcastically.
“Who said he gets all the girls?” Paris teased, looking at you with grinning eyes that twinkled devilishly “A little bird told me that Hyunjin has a crush on someone and I haven’t seen him getting laid recently” You glared at her; lips quivering as you tried to hold back your frown.
“Wait” Y/N slowly raised her eyes from her beer, snapping them at you in surprise “You’re crushing on someone and everybody knows except me?” You paled, clearing your throat as you stared blankly at her, trying to think of an answer.
    That’s how blind you are…
It’s not my fault you have such busybody friends!
    Yep! Because that’s you.
“Aren’t you too interested in my love life?” You asked instead, trying to maintain a smug façade as you smirked at her, arching your eyebrow questioningly. She narrowed her eyes at you, seeing right through your attempt to change the subject. You hated when she did that… Yet, it was kinda endearing to know that she could figure you out like this.
“I won’t even begin to talk about how you’re always meddling in my life” She raised her hand as if to tell you to stop with your bullshit “You’re a fuckboy and you’re not getting laid! How can I not be curious about this?” She scoffed, making you chortle.
“I see… So you’re interested in my sex life” You corrected yourself, and she rolled her eyes “You can’t just live your sex life through me, sweetheart” You teased, pouting at her as she glared at you, clearly done with your teasing “You should have your own experiences… Actually having some sex instead of trying to stick your nose into my business” You chuckled as she huffed, poking her cheek with her tongue.
“Who said I didn’t?” She arched her brow in a challenge.
“What?” You asked, tilting your head in confusion as she gulped down her beer.
“Who said I didn’t get laid?” She repeated, crossing her arms over her chest as she stared at you “I may not be like you but I had a share of affairs as well” She shrugged nonchalantly, and you could swear your jaw was on the ground by now.
“You’re not a virgin?!” You blurted out in utter surprise hand snapping to your mouth as soon as the question slipped from your lips “Sorry! I didn’t mean to ask that” You rushed to say but she just snorted.
“I always thought you were a virgin” Minho added anyway, sounding surprised as he frowned at you “You’re always working and eating hot dog… When the hell did you have the time to bang?” He asked in wonder, tilting his head “I can’t be the only one who’s not getting some here” He nagged, making you chortle.
“You guys are too naïve” Paris chuckled “Y/N was clearly the cool mysterious kid that had a bunch of people over her feet!” She reasoned, gesturing to Y/N to make her point “It’s obvious that she got laid at some point of her life! Just look at her” She stated matter-of-factly, giving you all a know-it-all look.
“Not really” Y/N chortled “I just got laid because I ended up hooking up with Chan—“ You could have choked to death right at that moment but as soon as you opened your mouth to gasp, Chan’s voice reached your ears, startling you to the point that your choking died on your throat.
“Hey, Sweety!” He called, interrupting her “Can you come over here?” He gestured for her to get closer, and she frowned at him, suspicious of his behavior “I wanna talk to you” He added, making her sigh in surrender.
You watched her making the way to Chan, attentive eyes glued on his figure as you tried to process what she had just said. So Chan and Y/N hooked up in the past? And they had sex?! You were kinda suspicious of them lately… You wouldn’t lie. The sheets all messed up in the morning? His comment on how she was like a beast? The way he inquired you about your feelings on that night? The way he held to the bulge incident? The way he spent over a week at her place?
They had to have something going on…
You clicked your tongue as you thought about it, furrowing your brows as she finally got to his side, being guided ─ and you didn’t fail to notice his hand on the small of her back ─ to somewhere more private. The thing that didn’t make any sense was that Chan was actually trying to help you out to get your feelings out of your chest… Why would he do that if he liked her? But again… Who said anything about liking? They could be just banging.
“Wow” Minho said as soon as she left, looking at you and Paris “So the rumors are true? They’re together?” He arched his brows in awe. As soon as he arched his, you frowned yours, confused by his question. What rumors?
“What are you talking about?” Paris asked, as lost as you.
“Haven’t you guys heard about it? I’ve heard Chan has been visiting her at the library and there are even some rumors talking about how he spent the night at her dorm” He explained, trying to find any signs on both of you that confirmed those rumors “Chan is quite popular, so I guess people just tend to pay attention to it… He also called her sweety right now, didn’t he?” You scoffed, poking your cheek.
“People talk too much” You reassured him “There is no way they’re dating… One of them would tell us” You looked into Minho’s eyes, shrugging “Never heard them fucking either” You added, shifting your gaze to Paris, looking for something that gave them away “So I guess those are just rumors…” You chuckled, trying to act nonchalantly.
You weren’t so sure yourself though.

“About time you got off your arse.”
“Hello to you too, Rena,” Y/N sighed as she dropped her satchel on her bed. Her roommate watched, bemused, as she began to unpack her things.
“How are you?” she asked, her voice noticeably softer. “I really missed you. We were all worried sick, you know.”
Y/N snorted, tossing her wrinkled robes on the bed and making a mental note to spell them neat later. “I do know. Madame Pomfrey was going to kill me for how many times she had to tell you to leave me and let me rest.”
Rena’s eyes sparkled.
“I’m fine, thank you,” said Y/N. “I missed you too.”
The two sat in silence for a bit as the cold afternoon breeze wafted into their room, carrying the smell of fresh snow in.
“So, anything exciting happen? Did anyone tell you anything….interesting?”
“No.” Y/N was about to turn back to her work before she caught the mischievous expression on Rena’s face. “What? Why?”
“Nothing,” she sang. “I’m just wondering. I have to catch up with my best friend, you know. It’s been forever.”
“It’s been the whole of four days.”
“It’s been forever,” she restated, jumping up and spinning Y/N around (who couldn’t help but allow a slow grin to spread across her face).
“I was going crazy in there.” Y/N’s voice was considerably more serious. “I never told you, but--” she chose to ignore the look of anticipation written all over Rena’s face, “--Malfoy talked to me. And he was so nice to me, it was we--”
“That COWARD!”
The outburst started Y/N, who dropped her things on the floor in shock. “I’m sorry? Rena, what happened?”
“I can’t tell you,” said Rena, her tone dutiful and mournful. “It’s not my place. Anyways, what did that loser do?”
“Er,” began Y/N, “I don’t know how much of it was real or if it was because I was on pain potion, but he and I--I don’t know, flirted? There was a lot of banter, and before he knew it he pulled me off the ground--”
“You were on the ground?”
“--he pulled me off the ground and picked the gravel out of my palms.” Y/N swallowed as she recounted the instance. She’d never seen him look so soft before. “He said he had something he wanted to tell me, and his voice got all strange.”
“And then?”
“And then Madame Pomfrey came to yell at me and basically--oh god, Rena, she basically told him that I dreamt of him!”
Rena snorted with laughter. “Shit, dude. I don’t think you should worry, though. You’d think any bloke with half a brain would’ve figured out that you were obsessed with him by now.”
“Shut up.” Y/N’s face was hot. “Anyways, I haven’t seen him since. I’d prefer if we could stop talking about this.”
“Sure, sure.” She took in a breath. “Wait, what about rounds? Don’t you still have to see him?”
“No. Flitwick told me I’m off. At least until next month.” If she sped through the thought, it didn’t hurt as much.
“Ending of a chapter, huh? How are you feeling about that?”
Y/N sighed. “Honestly, Rena, I love you, you know I do, but I don’t want to talk about this anymore. Okay? It’s over.”
If her words carried any deeper meaning to Rena, she didn’t show it. “Lighten up, girly. Maybe it’s not.”
“All I’ve done is make a fool of myself,” lamented Y/N, throwing her empty satchel in the closet and collapsing onto her bed. “I’m just going to go back to what everything was before. This hasn’t changed anything. Now, Rena, I have a Potions exam to study for.”
“Whatever floats your boat.”
~
Her interactions with Draco were few and far between in the following weeks. Sometimes she caught a few glimpses of a pale blonde head of hair as she walked down the halls to her classes, but nothing concrete, nothing even close to the amount of interaction they had while she was still bound to her rounds.
It was certainly a punch in the gut--after all, she did spend a good portion of her academic career thirsting over him--but the sensible part of her knew that this was for the better. Her schoolwork became her top priority again, just like it had been the years before she was assigned to be his partner.
So, given this pattern of communication, it was fair to say that Y/N was completely and utterly flabbergasted when she saw Draco waiting by the entry of her common room at 11pm one night.
“Can I help you?” she asked as she shifted the books in her satchel to be secured over her shoulder.
“Yes, actually,” he said smoothly, not tripping over his words in the slightest. “I have rounds tonight.”
“I’m aware.” She hoped that he couldn’t hear her heart pounding the way that it was.
“And I’m out of Wide-eye potion.”
“That really sucks,” Y/N said as she held up her hand on the door of the common room, uttering the riddle’s answer under her breath before she stepped in.
“Wait!” His voice turned her around--it was pleading, almost desperate. “I have an exam tomorrow. No one in Slytherin has any. Snape would kick my arse for waking him up now. I know you have some left over since you never finished the rounds, and I--I understand if you don’t want to but it doesn’t have a very good shelf life anyways and I was hoping you’d...that you’d be alright with giving it to me.”
She paused, completely stunned. The most hopeful part of her wondered if he had made this up, but she squelched this with a force that nearly knocked the wind out of her. “Fine. Come with me, you must be freezing outside.”
Y/N wasn’t wrong--the weather had taken a turn in the past few days to be bitterly cold--but it wasn’t like she’d object seeing him for any longer. She mentally cursed herself for being so weak-willed.
Draco looked pleasantly surprised at the suggestion and stepped into the common room with her, following her up until she reached the base of the stairs. “I’ll wait here.”
“If you’re comfortable,” she began, “I’d honestly prefer if you came with me. I don’t want to explain to anyone why I let you into our common room unsupervised.”
He looked like his mind was buffering the information for a second, standing with a glazed look in his eyes before he sucked in a breath and became the picture of confidence once again. “Want me in your room that bad?”
Yes.
“You wish.”
He scoffed as they climbed the stairs, Y/N a few steps above him. She thought that if she maintained the space he wouldn’t see how hard she was shaking and wondered where Rena was. Studying with Hermione like she told her she was? She hoped.
Y/N stopped in front of her door at the very end of the hall, decorated with a banner that had their names displayed in glittering bronze letters that moved in the light. “Ok. You can come in with me if you want--it might be a couple minutes since I don’t quite remember where it is.”
He looked amused with himself as she got out her wand and attempted to unlock her door with the specialized charm she and Rena had decided upon. Mortifyingly enough, her hand was too shaky to execute it.
“Hey, hey,” Draco tutted, holding his hand out. It enveloped hers and held her wand still as she muttered the incantation, unlocking the door and swinging it open.
“Er...thanks,” she said. His hand was still over hers.
Y/N broke the eye contact to dart through the door to a thankfully dark and empty room--if Rena had seen that, she never would’ve let her hear the end of that--and began rifling through her drawers as Draco shut the door and examined her room.
“You’re flustered,” he noted as she tipped over one of her candlesticks and just barely managed to catch it. “Is everything okay? Trouble in paradise, little Ravenclaw?”
“Like you care.” Y/N shut the desk drawer with an audible BANG. “And don’t call me that. Rowena Ravenclaw is rolling in her grave hearing you infantilize her good name like that.”
Draco laughed from his stance by her door--a sound that she hated to admit that she really missed. “I take back what I said. You certainly sound like yourself.”
Y/N’s fingers finally closed around the last bottle of Wide-Eye, which was quickly tossed to Draco. “Happy now?”
He sent her a strangely weak smile as he slipped the vial into his pocket, no doubt silk lined and expensive. “Sure. So this is goodbye? Actually?”
“I think...I think so.”
Y/N had moved closer to him so only about a foot stood between them, a distance that felt like a mile from where she stood.
This is goodbye.
Draco was making a motion to turn around and open the door when Y/N experienced the most severe lapse of judgement in the entirety of her 17 years.
She sprung forward, her fingers curling around the satiny soft fabric of his tie and pulling. Her motion was rough enough that he jolted forward, his eyes wide with surprise as Y/N closed in and pressed her lips to his in a very chaste and ungraceful movement.
The split second that it took for her to realize the consequences of her actions was enough for her to let go completely and jump away, apologies readily falling out of her mouth in disjointed and clumsy collections.
“I’m so sorry...Oh my god...I have no idea what got into me...Draco, I--”
Before she could finish, his hands were already cupping her face, his frame bent down the slightest so he could be more level with her. And he was--oh--he was kissing her, actually properly this time, without the tense closed-offness of her first attempt.
When Y/N imagined what it was like to kiss Draco Malfoy, she didn’t imagine him to be so soft. Or warm. Or gentle, or pliant, or whatever other good things he was to her as he snaked her arms around her and held her tight to him.
His kisses turned feverish, almost desperate as he turned her so she was pressed up between him and the wall. Everywhere his hands touched felt charged with electricity and energy, and as his hands traveled up and down her spine she decided that this must be what it’s like to die of happiness.
“Draco,” she managed in between kisses, pulling away for air for just a moment and sliding back down so her feet touched the floor again. “Can we talk? About this?”
“Thanks,” he responded, his eyes glittering with endearment. “I almost forgot you were a Ravenclaw.”
“Shut up.”
He grinned but made no effort to step away from her, instead choosing to drag his fingers up and down the side of her exposed neck. “What’s there to talk about? I like you, you like me, there’s nothing we need to do to complicate this further.”
“You...you what?”
“Yes, genius, what else did you think I was planning on telling you that day in the courtyard,” Draco said. “I’ve been avoiding you because I thought you were over me. That was horribly embarrassing, you know. Had to nurse my ego for weeks before I could garner up the courage to speak to you again.” He stopped to gently press the pad of his thumb into the little dimple she had in her left cheek, smiling uncontrollably as he moved his hand back to cup her face.
“How was I supposed to know that?” argued Y/N.
“Isn’t this supposed to be the smart house?” he teased.
She slapped his shoulder. “Don’t make me decide I don’t like you anymore.”
“Oh, so you admit it?”
“Admit what?”
“That you like me?”
“I’m going to scream.”
“Just from kissing me? Wow, I must be good.”
“I mean it!”
“So do I!”
Y/N gazed up at the boy in front of her for a few beats, admiring how the moonlight bounced off the silvery strands of his hair and how his smile reached every corner of his face.
“I take back what I said,” she told him.
“Oh, and what is that?”
“This isn’t goodbye.”
He smiled again, leaning in close so his lips barely brushed her ear. “No. No, it isn’t.”

Scenario: GOM with their sick s/o who still tries to come to school
Kise
When you woke up that morning you felt dazed; your head had a piercing pain and your throat was scratchy and sore. You headed off to school with a mask on despite feeling under the weather because your exams were around the corner and you had so many doubts that needed answers.
Upon seeing you enter class, Kise sprang up with excitement (as he usually would), but seeing your dreary eyes as well as your mask, his excited expression quickly turned into worry. “Y/N-cchi, are you okay?” The blonde asked with concern as he approached you.
“Yeah, I’m okay, just woke up feeling a bit under the weather,” you croaked, your throat somehow feeling worse than it did that morning as you walked over to your desk next to Kise.
As you put your things down, Kise suddenly placed a hand on your forehead, making you furrow your eyebrows in confusion as you looked back at him for answers. “You’re hot!” Kise exclaimed, “And I’m not talking about the sexy way- though that’s true too.”
You giggled at Kise’s remarks as you took your seat at your desk. You assured him that you were alright, but he wasn’t having it.
“Go home Y/N-cchi! I’ll ask the teachers your questions and I’ll come over after school to give them to you,” Kise suggested, his concern making your heart melt.
“I’ll be okay, it’s sweet that you’d do that though,” you smiled at the pouty amber-eyed boy, immediately realising that he couldn’t see your smile in the first place because of the mask- which he joked about without hesitation.
“You’re such a dummy, Y/N-cchi,” Kise giggled, “But I’ll stick by your side all day to make sure you’re okay!”
You sighed, giving in to your boyfriend’s concerns, slightly glad because you loved having him around you. Kise stuck by that promise more or less, but he did wander off somewhere after school ended, and you assumed he headed off for his practice so you put on your backpack and began to leave the class, feeling as though your head was weighing you down. To your surprise, you ran into Kise in the courtyard. “Oh hi, I thought you had practice,” you said to him softly.
“I do, but I went there to tell Captain that I won’t be there today,” Kise replied as the two of you began to walk to the school gate together. “I’m gonna take my Y/N-cchi home and feed her my special soup and tuck her in bed!” Kise sang.
“You don’t need to do that Ryouta,” you spoke, glad that you were wearing a mask because you were sure that the smile you wore underneath was awfully dorky.
Without doubt, Kise walked you home, ignoring anything you had to say against it; he even carried your backpack for you. After feeding you the chicken soup he made, as though he was a mother feeding a baby, he tucked you into bed, just like he said he would.
“Aren’t my tucking skills amazing?” Kise stated proudly as he took a seat on the foot of your bed.
“They’re average,” you joked, just so you could watch him do that cute pout.
“Y/N-cchi that’s so mean!” Kise whined; it was his turn to be the baby now.
“You know I’m joking,” you giggled. “Thank you for doing this for me,” you spoke, forgetting the last time you felt this happy while being sick.
“Anything for you, Y/N-cchi,” Kise said, flashing you a smile. “You better not come to school tomorrow if you’re not in top form okay?” He said, his sweet voice quickly changing to a stern one.
“Alright,” you sighed, finding it difficult to keep your eyes open at this point.
Kise’s words began to drown out slowly and all you could hear was a cheerful noise. The blonde haired boy seemed to notice you drifting off, and he couldn’t help but grin- he thought you looked adorable. He stood up and placed a kiss on your forehead and whispered, “Hope you feel better soon Y/N-cchi, I love you.”

Midorima
“Y/N! Your Oha Asa today wasn’t good! You came last!” Midorima said frantically when you met him outside your house to head to school. However, upon seeing your pale and sickly face, the Oha Asa became the least of his worries. “You don’t look too well, Y/N,” he said softly.
“I’m just a bit,” you stopped to let out a cough, “sick.”
“Why are you going to school then?” Midorima asked, stopping in his tracks, ready to drag you back home at any moment.
“I need to help some teachers out- there’s some event happening soon,” you told him. “I promised that I’d help out.”
“I’m not letting you do that,” Midorima said sternly. “You’re going back home.”
“Shintaro, I made a promise- I have to go,” you said, refusing to let your slight sickness stop you from fulfilling a promise.
“Fine, then I’ll fill your place,” he shrugged, “you need to get some rest.”
“You can’t just fill my place, you’re not really the best artist out there,” you said, wishing that he’d just drop it and continue to walk.
“Well, Takao is rather good at art- I’m sure he wouldn’t mind. You can just send me a text with the details- from your bed.”
“But Shintaro—”
“You’re going home, come on,” Midorima stopped you, as he beckoned you to follow him back to your house. “Besides, I doubt you would’ve gotten too far because your Oha Asa today was awful,” he added as you began to walk back home with him.
“Could you apologise to Miss Anato for me?” you requested when you reached your doorstep once again.
“Of course. Take care of yourself okay? I might drop by after practice to check up on you,” he said, as serious as ever.
“You don’t need to do that, I’m not a child, Shintaro,” you told him, even though you knew he wouldn’t listen to you.
“You have your childish moments,” Midorima shrugged, making you smile.
You bid your goodbyes and you headed back inside, feeling guilty for skipping out on school. However the thought of Midorima taking care of things eased your mind a little, because you knew you could count on him.
When you awoke from your nap in the afternoon, you immediately reached out to check on your phone, as usual. You opened the texts that Midorima sent you and smiled. He had sent you pictures of him and Takao helping out Miss Anato and your worries about your workload seemed to fade away.
Just as you expected, Midorima made a stop by your house after his practice. He bought you some soup from his favourite restaurant as well as your lucky item for the next day because, “If you have your lucky item, you can’t get sick.”
Midorima stayed at your house for an hour or two, catching you up on your lessons as well as telling you how the event preparations went. Talking to him made you feel as though you weren’t sick in the first place. You felt happy and loved, and it was moments like those where you’re extra grateful to have him looking over you.

Aomine
When Aomine saw you sitting in class, he was confused. He didn’t expect you to come to school considering the fact that you didn’t seem well on the phone with him the night before. “Y/N, I thought you were sick,” Aomine said to you, without even greeting you.
“Oh hey. I’m alright,” you said hoarsely as you sniffled, which wasn’t very convincing to your statement.
“Yeah you totally sound alright,” Aomine said sarcastically. “I can’t believe you’d come to school.”
“Yeah well,” you croaked, before clearing your throat, “my attendance isn’t exactly the best since I’ve skipped a bunch of classes with someone.”
Aomine couldn’t help but grin as he thought of all the times the two of you skipped class up on the roof to do all kinds of things. He tried to ignore the thoughts as colour rose in his cheeks, “But still,” was the only argument he had.
Aomine spent the entire school day looking over you, feeling responsible for you having to come to school in the first place. The end of the school day had arrived and when he looked over to your desk, he saw that you had your head down.
He walked over to you and poked your arm, soon realising that you had dozed off. Aomine gave you a small shake, causing you to stir awake, “Y/N, it’s time to go home,” he said softly, but you felt too weak to move.
Aomine sighed and heaved you into his back, deciding to carry you home. Despite you being half asleep on his back, Aomine didn’t hesitate to lecture you the entire way home. “You shouldn’t have come, you should know better,” he said, all his words garnering only a hum from you, the smell of his cologne brought you so much comfort that you didn’t mind what he was saying.
Once you finally got home, Aomine plopped you down onto your bed and stretched, letting out a huge groan. “You’re a real handful sometimes, Y/N,” Aomine said as he began to take your shoes off and tuck you into bed. “You better get well soon because it’s very hard for me to not kiss you right now.”
“Thank you, Daiki. I love you,” you said in what was barely a whisper as you smiled at his remarks.
Aomine became flustered by the word of thanks, “No worries, you’re a handful, but you’re my handful, so I wouldn’t have it any other way,” he said, shrugging. Hearing that made you smile as you pulled your comforter closer to your body and before you knew it, you were out cold. Looking at your sleeping form, the blue eyed boy couldn’t help but smile. He knew that no matter what ill-advised situation you got yourself into, he would gladly help you. Plus it felt rather refreshing for him to be giving the lectures for once in his life.

Murasakibara
When Murasakibara saw you walking through the school gates with a mask on and looking sickly, his concerns were immediately shifted to you. “Y/N-chin, are you sick?” He asked, even though he knew that you were.
“Kind of,” you coughed, “it’s not a big deal.”
“You look awful,” he said bluntly, as he observed your lifeless eyes.
“Geez thanks, that’s what everyone wants to hear from their boyfriends,” you said, rolling your eyes.
“You know I didn’t mean it like that,” Murasakibara said, clicking his tongue. You tried to head to your class, but the purple haired boy immediately stopped you. “I don’t think you should be going to school like that.”
“But there’s so much work I need to do before midterms,” you told him, your voice breaking several times in between.
“Nope, I’m taking you home,” Murasakibara refused.
“But Atsushi—”
“You know I can easily just pick you up and take you there myself, so save me the trouble,” he said, cutting your arguments off. You let out a deep sigh and gave in, you knew that no matter what you said he’d just pick you up.
You turned around and Murasakibara began to follow you. “Don’t you have school?” you questioned, wondering why the large boy was by your side.
“Eh, I’d rather take care of you,” Murasakibara shrugged, fishing out a packet of crisps from his backpack.
When the two of you got back to your place, Murasakibara took out all the snacks that he knew you’d like and dumped them on your bed.
“They say that you should eat before taking any medicine, but all I have is snacks. I ordered some soup from this restaurant, they should come by soon,” Murasakibara informed.
“Where on earth did you find a place that delivers soup, especially at this time?” you questioned, slightly impressed.
“I have my ways,” he shrugged as he opened up a packet of sour candies that were your favourite, “Eat up.”
“This is healthy eating at its finest,” you joked, as the candies seemed to brighten up your mood in the slightest bit. About ten minutes later, the doorbell rang with the soup that Murasakibara had ordered. “Why’d you order two bowls? Are you sick too?” You inquired as he took the soup out and placed it carefully on your bedside table.
“No, I just like this soup,” he answered simply, “plus I don’t think I should be sharing soup with you.”
“Fair enough,” you responded, as you sipped on a spoonful of the steaming liquid. “Woah this is amazing,” you said, the feeling of the warm soup sliding down your sore throat making you feel ten times better.
The two of you chatted a bit while drinking the soup, and once you were done, Murasakibara cleared up all the wrappers from your bed and threw them out. He returned to his seat at the foot of your bed as you began to cover your shivering body with your comforter.
“Thank you for being there for me, Atsushi,” you said, unable to wipe the smile off of your face. “Though I do feel bad for making you miss school.”
“School is too boring,” he groaned at the thought of his studies, “Plus I’d be there for you no matter what anyways.”
“I love you,” you said softly as you felt your eyelids become heavier.
“I love you too, Y/N-chin,” the purple eyed boy said, a smile growing on his lips as he stood up to leave. He glanced at you once more with admiration in his eyes, wanting nothing but for you to be okay because you were one of the very few things that he truly cared for.

Akashi
When you told Akashi that you weren’t feeling well one night, he immediately knew that you were going to attempt to attend school the next day despite your illness. So he decided to drop by your house early so that you didn’t waste energy on getting ready in the morning. Akashi rand the doorbell and you answered the door, still in pyjamas, as Akashi had hoped.
“Akashi? You’re early,” you said, the morning light making your headache worse. “Come in, I’ll start getting ready.”
“There’s no need for that, Y/N,” Akashi said, accepting the invitation to come in. “I know you’re sick.”
“Huh? No, I-” your voice cracked and you immediately cleared your throat to recover, “I’m fine, I need to go to school.”
Akashi knew that you would argue if he tried to convince you otherwise so he said, “Fine, we’ll get a thermometer and if your temperature is normal, you can go to school. Deal?”
You knew that Akashi wouldn’t say something like that if he wasn’t sure he’d win, but your pride still took him on, wanting to be sure that you were truly ill. You grabbed a thermometer from the cabinet in the bathroom and sat on the couch in the living room with the device under your tongue.
After two minutes of waiting, Akashi took the thermometer out and checked the temperature, and his smile of victory said it all. “38 degrees Celsius- you’re staying at home,” he stated, the disappointed look on your face making him feel a bit bad. “Don’t worry, I’ll share all my notes with you. Plus I’ll come back after school and give you company, okay?” He said reassuringly, making you feel slightly better and you bid your goodbyes before dragging yourself back to bed, where you slept until the late afternoon.
When you finally stirred awake, you saw Akashi sitting at the foot of your bed, reading a book. He noticed your movement out of the corner of his eye and looked over with a smile, “Hey, you’re awake! Your mother let me in,” he clarified before you could think that he broke into your house. “I brought you some ramen from this really nice place,” he said, pointing at a paper bag that sat on your desk, and you smiled because he remembered that you didn’t like soup that much.
“Thank you,” you said, your voice still as weak as before.
“Of course,” Akashi smiled, glad that he could put a smile on your face too. You and Akashi chatted for hours. He told you about everything that happened in school that day, joking a bit here and there which brightened your mood as you ate the delicious ramen he bought.
You didn’t realise how much time had passed until you finally looked at your phone a few hours later. “Woah it’s late, you should probably go back home,” you informed him, though you wished he could stay for even longer.
Akashi sighed and stood up from his seat on your bed. “Okay, and if you don’t feel better tomorrow, you’ve got to go to the doctor alright?” He said, acting like he was your daddy dad.
“Okay, I will. Text me when you get home okay?” You told him as he gathered his things to leave.
Akashi hummed in agreement as he looked back at you lovingly. “Get better soon, Y/N. I love you.”
“I love you too,” you replied, giving him a gentle smile, just wishing that you could kiss him. “Thank you for coming here. It made me feel much better.”
“That’s good to hear,” he grinned, “You know I’d do anything for you.”

Kuroko
When you answered Kuroko’s knock on your door one morning with droopy eyes and a face mask on, he immediately began to worry. “Y/N-kun, you don’t look too good. Are you sick?”
You cleared your throat, “Yeah kind of,” you understated, feeling your head spin.
“I don’t think you should be going to school then.”
“I need to be preparing for the midterms,” you said, pausing to cough, “I have to go.”
“There’s plenty of time until then. You should go back in and rest,” Kuroko said, making up his mind about not letting you go to school like this.
“But Tetsu, what if the teacher says something important in class?” you frowned as you leaned against the door frame so that you don’t lose balance due to your spinning head.
“I’ll be sure to inform you about everything the teachers say,” Kuroko said reassuringly, “We can have a study date or something when you’re not sick.”
You sighed and complied with Kuroko’s advice, trusting him to tell you about anything important as you put your pyjamas back on and went to bed. It took you some time to fall back asleep because your head was pounding, but when you finally managed doze off, it was one of the deepest slumbers you ever had.
You woke up in the evening to the sound of the doorbell ringing through your empty house. You groaned and stretched a bit before slowly going toward the door, trying to fight back the headache (that seemed better than it was in the morning, but was still a pain). Upon opening the front door, you heard a small bark as the adorable little Nigou rushed towards you, standing on his hind legs as his other two paws were against your leg. “Hi Nigou!” You giggled as you picked him up.
Standing at your doorstep was a smiling Kuroko, who held a small stuffed toy as well as a paper bag in his hand. “Looks like Nigou missed you,” the blue eyed boy smiled sweetly as he lifted up the items in his hands, “I got you some tea and cake from your favourite cafe,” he said as he stepped into your house and closed the door behind him. “Plus I saw this teddy bear in the front window of a shop and I immediately thought that you’d find it cute so I got you that too.”
You felt your insides warm up at the gesture as the smile on your face grew even wider. “That’s so thoughtful, Tetsu! And yes that teddy bear is so cute,” you said softly before the two of you headed to the living room, where you sat on the couch with Nigou in your lap.
“How are you feeling?” Kuroko asked you as you sipped on the hot tea.
“My head hurts, but seeing you and Nigou again made me feel much better,” you told him weakly.
“I’m glad I could help,” Kuroko smiled as he looked at the dog that was dozing off on your lap, “He was lonely at practice today since you weren’t there,” he added, chuckling softly.
“Oh no, I wish I was there,” you pouted as you began to pet the dog gingerly. You and Kuroko continued to chat for a while as he told you about school and practice. Spending time with Kuroko somehow made your sickness lose a bit of it’s intensity as you talked into the night, laughing at every one of his jokes.
Your mother had come back home and invited Kuroko to stay for dinner (mostly because she thought that Nigou was the most precious thing in existence) though he politely declined. “I should really get going, it’s getting quite late,” Kuroko said, finally standing up from the couch.
You couldn’t help but pout as you picked Nigou up into your arms before walking to the front door with Kuroko. “Thanks for coming over. I had fun,” you said to him as he stepped back out onto your doorstep and took Nigou off your arms.
“Me too, I hope you feel better soon,” he wished before walking out, turning back to wave and say, “Goodbye, Y/N! I love you.”
You waved back with a smile, “Bye, I love you too,” you spoke, giggling as you watched Nigou scuttle behind your boyfriend. As you headed back inside, you were glad that he had visited because you couldn’t remember the last time you were that happy while being sick.

Hoiy 💕 may I request Okuyasu and Josuke reaction (separately if possible ✨) when their crush and friend invites them to a sleep over game/movie night? And when they are like “who’s coming?” They would say “oh I wanted to play/watch this with you?” And if they would be like but what about your parents they would be like “ahh they are away for the week and I don’t wanna be alone at night” them being flustered and asking each other for advices would be hilarious XD thank you!
I already did 2 sleepover HCs, so this will be my last kind of sleepover thing. And it kind of turned into fanfics. Okuyasu’s S/O is female here.
Josuke
Josuke was walking home from school, pretty much alone. Okuyasu and Koichi had left earlier because they had exams and went home, so Josuke was a bit lonely. That was until you came running towards him, waving a hand in the air. “Josuke!” He turns around, “Y/N?” It’s odd for him to see you without his other friends around, not to mention he had an obvious crush on you, so when you approached he was a bit flustered.
You huffed and bent down catching your breath. “God, you walk so fast... Holy moly...”
“Uh, you alright, Y/N?” Josuke reached a hand out instinctively. You grabbed it, and he immediately grew red, not realizing he had held your hand.
“Sorry, Jojo. I was just wondering if you, *Huff* wanted to hang out?”
“Oh,” He scratched the back of his neck. “Like, you wanna get Okuyasu and Koichi?”
“No, not really.” His face goes blank, “Wait, so... just me and you...?”
“Well, yeah. If that’s okay.” You chuckle. “And get this, my parents are on business for like a week, so we have my house to ourselves!”
“-Alone?”
“Jojo, you good?” You straighten the straps of your backpack.
“Yeah, YEAH! I’m great!, I mean, I’m good. B-but why?”
“Well, heh, I was kinda hoping you wouldn’t ask but,” You began walking in the same direction, but your eyes staring at your feet. “I like having company... my parents are usually around, and I trust them, a lot, y’know? I just want to be around somebody I trust... andI just don’t like being alone. Especially at night...” You muttered quietly and stopped.
“Oh, well, in that case, I’m down.” Josuke confirms, his heartstrings pulling.
You’re eyes light up. “Thank you, thank you, thank you!” You jumped around a bit. Josuke smiled and started for the direction of your house.
“Uh, Jojo?”
“Yep?”
“That’s that way to my house.”
“Uh-huh.”
“You should grab your toothbrush and like, pajamas or something.”
“Why would I need those?”
“Because you’re going to sleeping over...?” You cautioned, wondering if he agreed to stay for the night. His face glows like a cherry, and whips around, "I’m what?”
His mind was going to start to wander, and you began to panic.
“Well, you don’t have to, I just. I feel safer with people I love being near.” You spit out without thinking.
‘Oh, good job’ You chided yourself.
“Y/N?”
‘That’s it. You fucked up.’
“You... love me?”
You stuttered, “Oh, did I? I don’t remember saying that... you might be hearing things, on second thought, I’m good! I’ll just see you at school tomorrow-!”
You turn to run in a panic but you feel strong arms hold you in place. They were big and muscled, you couldn’t get out of his grip if you wanted to, and you... didn’t want to.
“Hey, Y/N. I-it’s okay... I-I like you too.” His chin rested on your head. “Please, just don’t run away.” You pulled your own arms up and put them on his. “I, I won’t.” He lets you go, and you turn to see his face, which was flushed, much like how you imagined yours was.
“Kinda more than like, really.”
“Yeah?” You smile warmly at him and it melts his heart. “Yeah. I pretty much in love with you...”
You jump up and wrap your arms around him. “So, it’s cool if you stay over?”
“Well, I’ve got to tell my mom. She can stick her nose in my business sometimes but I’ll just say I’m hanging out with Okuyasu if you’d like.”
“I’d like that.”
You began to walk again, this time in Josuke’s house’s direction, your hand drifted from you and found itself in Josuke’s warm palm.
Okuyasu
Okuyasu was hanging out at his place, just throwing some leftovers into the microwave. Exams had just finished for him. He felt kind of badly for going home early with Koichi and leaving Josuke at school but a few bits of some left overs from Tonio’s would surly brighten him up. He grabbed some sushi out of the fridge from last nights dinner too, and he went up the stairs to bring it to his dad, maybe he’d want some. When he got up he knocked and then opened his dad’s door.
“Hey, Pops, you like California rolls, right?” The green creature graciously took the food and some chopsticks and hugged his son, blubbering something and making pretty incomprehensible noises, but he could tell it was all smiles and gratitude.
Then a knock came from downstairs. “Hold on, Pops.” He bent out a window in another room and spotted you at the door.
“Ooh! Y/N is here!” He shouted down the hall and ran down the stairs. He smiled wide and giggled like a kid and swung open the door.
“Y/N!!!” His arms went up in the air and he pulled you inside without a second thought. “What’re you doing here?” There was a long beep from the kitchen. “Hold that thought Y/N! I got food in the zapper!” He always called things something strange like that. He ran back into the kitchen and you could sit down on the sofa and rethink why you were here. It’s just a question, nothing crazy, right?
He comes out with a plate with what you think is spaghetti. “So, whatcha doing?” He asks shovelling food into his mouth. While he baffles over the food you quickly think it over before spitting it out,
“Okuyasu, do you wanna have a sleepover with me?” He stops slurping up the pasta and looks at you, eyes like saucers. “Like, a friend sleepover? Or a more than friends who are having a sleepover. You flush.
“Uh, just a sleepover...” “Yeah, that sounds cool! Lemme go tell my dad!” He puts the food on a coffee table and sprints up the stairs. “POPS, IS IT OKAY IF I GO HAVE A SLEEPOVER WITH Y/N?” He yells down the hall. You curl up into an embarrassed ball on the couch, why did he have to say it like that...? “BE RIGHT BACK Y/N!” It was a few moments later he came down with his school bag, but with a blanket hanging out and a toothbrush in hand and toothpaste loosely hanging out of the other.
“Okay! I’m ready!” “Uh, cool.” You head out the door, and he starts heading in the direction to Josuke’s. “So are we grabbing Josuke and Koichi, or are they meeting us there?” You walk behind him and unknowingly grab his arm, “Actually, I was thinking... just you and me?”
He squints and bends down to your height, “Hmm, hang on. Okay, Y/N I’m not the brightest guy in Morioh, but something is up. Are you asking me on a date?” You let go of his arm. “Uhhh...”
“Because of you are, you should know that I am a man of many things, but lying is not one of them. So I’m gonna lay some truth on ya. I like you.” He points to you and flushes a little.
You stand in silence. Your heart races and your knees feel weak. “A-are you sure?”
“Pretty sure. Now, I told you what’s going on in my head, now it’s your turn. Do you like me?” You are flabbergasted at the least. This was so, random, he never talks like this. Not to anybody.
“Yeah... I guess,” You smile weakly.
“So this sleepover is for just the two of us, because you like me?”
“...yes.”
“Alright, cool. We’re on the same page.” He starts walking to your house.
“Wait, Okuyasu! What does this mean?” You catch up with him,
“Y’know. I don’t know. I don’t get that far usually.”
You grin nervously, “Do girls frequently ask you out?”
“Oh, no. God, guy like me could never score a chic like you. Nah, this is all new.” The next minute was pretty quiet.
“You think, I’m pretty?” You inquired.
“Ha, I’m might be a bit slow, but I’m not stupid, Y/N.” You feel a warmth spread in your chest, and you kiss his cheek. He stops dead in his tracks.
“Did- did you just, kiss me?” “Is that a new one too?” You tease flustered. His moment of clarity suddenly stopped there,
“Yeah. Okuyasu, I’m not sure what to do right now. Do you want to date me?” He looks down at you with his hand where you kissed him.
“Yeah.”
“Do you still want to sleepover at my place?”  You ask with his hand intertwining with yours.
“Yeah.”
(Okay so I have this headcanon that after Okuyasu’s brother died he made sure to let people know how he felt, and if he loved somebody, he would tell them, just in case he loses them) My heart- 💔

https://archiveofourown.org/works/28946823 It had been over 3 weeks since Kagome had gone home, and she was starting to feel the toll it was taking on her mind and body. Usually it wouldn’t have bothered her so much, as she had gone up to almost 2 months without returning to the modern world, but lately they had been fighting more demons than usual, besides all the studying she had been doing to catch up on missed work, luckily she didn’t have any upcoming exams or homework deadlines, but it was important to recap on everything so she wouldn’t be completely lost the next time she attended school. “Inuyasha it’ll just be a couple days. I need a break, I’m gonna lose my mind if I don’t get to rest at least a couple days in the comfort of my home, please let me go” Kagome was on the verge of a mental breakdown over not being able to return home, not that it mattered what Inuyasha said since she would be going either way, but it was nice when he didn’t fight her all the way there. “If I may,” Said Miroku stepping in, “ we are also starting to feel the need to rest, as you know, Sango and I are also human, and we could also use a few days for ourselves. It would be excellent to gather supplies and gather some energy for when we next encounter Naraku.” Sango smiled and nodded next to Miroku. “I could also use this time to fix some weapons that have gotten damaged over the last few battles, as Miroku said, Naraku is in hiding, this is the best time to gather our strength and prepare for what’s to come, otherwise we’ll be too tired to perform well in battle” Inuyasha was pensive at what his companions had just said. They all made perfect sense, and he agreed that some rest would be more beneficial than not. However, the fact that Naraku was in hiding gave them an advantage in gathering more jewel shards, not to mention getting more information on his whereabouts would be a win if he wasn’t expecting them to show up wherever he was hiding. “Well, it’s decided, since the majority voted for resting” Kagome was thrilled at her friends backing her up. “You can come with me to my time if you’d like Inuyasha, you don’t have to stay here and sulk like they say you always do.” At that Inuyasha’s cheeks turned red, his eyes widening in disbelief. “Keh, as if I would ever sulk, much less over you wasting time by going back to your house” He scoffed, turning his back towards the group. “But since you are all weak humans, I suppose it would be a waste of time to keep going if all you’ll do is complain” He started walking in the direction Kaede’s village was, it would probably take them a little over half the day to get there, but it was still very early in the day, so they would be getting there right before sunset without a problem. The walk back to the village went smoothly, they didn’t run into any trouble, and they were able to enjoy their time together by occasionally playing games, and singing on their way there. Kagome carried around a portable microphone she would pull out so they each had a go at singing a song, aside from Kagome, none of them were particularly good at singing, but they were having a good time, so it didn’t really matter. Since they were having fun, they got to the village in what seemed like no time at all. The sky had just started turning a beautiful shade of orange and pink when Kagome finally made it to the well. “I won’t be gone too long, four days at most, I promise, I just need to catch up on a little bit of school” She smiled at her friends who had decided to accompany her all the way there. “No worries Kagome, take all the time you need” Said Sango, gaining a death stare from Inuyasha at her words. “Yeah Kagome, you need to rest! We’ll miss you but we know you’ll be back soon” Smiled Shippo perched on Miroku’s shoulder. “Are you sure you don’t want to come, Inuyasha? My offer still stands.” Said Kagome a little more hopeful than she intended, she usually loved getting time away from him, but for some reason lately the thought of being apart from him made her heart sink in her chest a little bit, almost like having a piece of herself torn away. Kagome mentally slapped herself at such thought, since when was Inuyasha a part of her? No, she definitely needed some time away. “Keh, I have nothing to do over there, and you’re always saying I annoy you, just get back in time” and with that he took off towards the forest before anyone was able to say anything else about the matter. “Well, that’s that.” Kagome said her goodbyes to the group and jumped into well that would take her 500 years into the future, leaving her companions alone as they started making their way back to Kaede’s village. “Sango my dear, how about a little bet?” Miroku smirked. “What do you have in mind, Monk?” Sango was a little reluctant to hear what Miroku had to say, given the fact that whatever came out of his mouth could never be good, much less now that he had such a mischievous look on his face. “I’ll bet you whatever you want that he follows her to her time at the latest tomorrow afternoon” “Okay, I’ll take you up on that one” Sango was the one that smirked this time “I bet you he goes back tonight, and if he does you have to keep your hands to yourself for a month” “A - A MONTH?! Sango dear, don’t you think that’s pushing it a little bit?” he said fearfully, as he didn’t actually think she would bet Inuyasha would follow Kagome at an earlier time than he had originally suggested, and to be frank, knowing Inuyasha he wasn’t confident at all it wouldn’t happen. “So what do you say?” “Ah, I actually think betting goes against everything I believe in as a monk. Such behaviors are to be condemned. Morally speaking, I can’t partake in such an activity” As he said this his left hand was making its way towards Sango’s bottom half, which luckily she caught on to, smacking him with all her might before it made contact with her body. “Why do you always have to be like this?” Shippo asked him with a sigh. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kagome had dropped her backpack in her room, and was gathering her supplies to take a nice warm bath. She was feeling more than ever how sore her body was from the constant fighting and running, she hadn’t taken her bike in a while cause she always had to leave it when a battle broke out, and it was such a pain to look for it, although Inuyasha could find it fairly easily with his sense of smell, it was still annoying, and if she was being honest it was more annoying than helpful, especially when she was tired of riding, and of having to push the damn thing around. Kagome stepped into the warm tub and contemplated how much she’d grown over the last months, it was crazy to think how her life had changed drastically overnight, being thrown into a world of constant danger, but she wouldn’t have it any other way if she was given the choice. Which she did, as she chose to spend the majority of her time there. Her friends had become family, and Inuyasha had become such a natural extension of herself, that whenever they were apart from each other, all she did was miss him, and wait until they were together again, as much as he annoyed her some times. “There I go again” she sighed, and started drying herself and getting dressed. “Thinking about him when he’s not here, even him driving me completely crazy is better than being apart” She had picked out a green long sleeved shirt and pajama shorts since the temperature was neither hot nor cold. Grabbing her dirty laundry off the floor, she made her way into her room, almost face planting as she walked around her bed to close the open window, tumbling over something that definitely should not have been on the floor. “Inuyasha! What are you doing here? I thought you said you weren’t gonna come” She said after regaining her footing and realizing that what she had tripped over, were Inuyasha’s outstretched legs, since he had been sitting on the floor. “Keh, don’t think I came for you or nothing.” he scoffed, cheeks turning slightly pink “I was just bored out of my mind, all Miroku does is flirt, and all Sango does is slap him, Shippo is annoying, and don’t get me started on that old hag” he crossed his legs and tucked his hands into the sleeves of his robes. “Well, I’m glad you came, it gets boring being out here by myself” “Is your family not here?” He asked, turning his head in her direction a little faster than he intended. “No, they left me a note saying Grandpa had some kind of convention, and mom and Sota decided to tag along since they didn’t have anything to do, they’ll be back tomorrow afternoon” She dumped her dirty clothes in the laundry basket she kept in her room, and made her way over to the bed, sitting right next to Inuyasha on the floor. “Why didn’t you come back? If you didn’t want to be alone you should’ve just returned to the village” “If I had returned, you would’ve made us get back on the road tomorrow, and I told you, I need to rest. I’m sore all over, I honestly don’t even know how I made it back all the way to my house. One more step and my legs would’ve given in” “Well… I can carry you, you know? All you have to do is ask” Kagome’s cheeks were slowly turning red at his offering. If she had to choose a favorite way of travelling, she had to admit that riding on Inuyasha’s back beat any other way of transportation by a LONG shot. “Thank you Inuyasha, that’s very sweet of you. I will definitely take you up on that one” They sat in silence for a while since they were both still madly blushing from their conversation, neither one really knew why they were so flushed over something they did almost every day. It wasn’t like he had never given her a ride before, but offering to carry her when she was tired, and not just in the midst of battle, or when they needed to get somewhere in a hurry, made the act seem a lot more intimate. Kagome looked over at him, and smiled to herself, noticing how handsome he was. She was never one to say such things to him, although she admitted it to herself every time she got a glimpse of his face. “What are you looking at?” Inuyasha had turned to look at her and noticed she had a very strange look on her face, her eyes seemed to sparkle, and she had a smile that curved to one side more than the other, she looked so cute, and the realization of that made his face feel hot. “Nothing! I was just thinking” she averted her eyes quickly, and tried to focus her attention on something else, when she noticed he had grass stuck to his robe, near where his rib cage was, so she reached her hand over and started picking it out of his clothes, when he suddenly pulled away in a suspiciously jumpy manner. Realization hit Kagome like a ton of bricks “Inuyasha, are you… ticklish?” she asked in disbelief. Inuyasha’s face was all the answer she needed, his eyes had gone round and big, his cheeks were pink, and he was trying to talk but nothing coherent was coming out. She never would’ve thought that Inuyasha who seemed so tough, who always shrugged off any sign of what he considered a weakness, was ticklish. Mischief filled Kagome’s entire face, her eyes were sparkling, her smile went from ear to ear. Inuyasha had never seen someone look so happy, yet so scary, and at that thought, she launched herself at him, placing her hands on both sides of his torso and tickling him to her heart's content. The laughs coming out of Inuyasha, where making Kagome’s heart swell three times its normal size. She had never heard such a glorious sound coming out of him. Sure, she had heard him laugh whenever they were goofing around, or he did a sort of evil laugh when he was mocking someone he didn’t particularly like. But this was unlike any of those things. This was his pure, most uncensored laugh. She could hear the roughness of his voice, it was low, and husky. It matched him perfectly, and all she wanted was to be able to hear that sound for the rest of her life. “St-  STOP, HAHAHHAAHHA” it was getting hard to breathe through all the laughter “KAGOME, HAHAHA, STOP” He was kicking and thrashing under her, careful not to hurt her, but still trying to scurry away from her. No one had ever tickled him since his mother had died, and although his lungs were on absolute fire from laughing, he couldn’t say he hated the feeling. He was especially loving the enjoyment Kagome was getting out of this, and making her happy was all that mattered to him, no matter how much he said otherwise. After what seemed like an eternity, Kagome stopped tickling him, she was laughing as she allowed him to regain his breath. “I can’t believe you’re ticklish, god will I use this to my advantage from now on! When I was little my mom would threaten me with tickles if I didn’t want to do something, it worked in her favor so well because-” At that Inuyasha flipped her under him, and with an eyebrow raised and a teasing grin, he started tickling her the same way she had done to him. Being mindful of his claws he ran his hands through her body, tickling her stomach, under her arms, her neck. Anywhere he touched made her thrash and let out what sounded like heaven to Inuyasha’s ears. Her voice was high, but not in a deafening way, it was smooth, and fruity, and he could say without a flicker of a doubt that it was his favorite sound in the entire world. “OKAY HAHAHHAHAHA TRUCE, HAHAHAHHA TR- TRUCE” He stopped tickling her, and relished in the moment, one of his hands had found its way behind her back, the other in the little curve between her neck and shoulder. He had somehow ended up fully on top of her, his face mere inches away from hers. He could feel the warmth of her breath on his mouth. This made him lower his gaze from her eyes to her lips. Her lips, he had never seen anything like them. They were plump and luscious, naturally the color of cherry blossoms in the spring. He licked his lips, and returned his gaze to her eyes, finding her looking down, directly at HIS own lips, without a second thought he went in, taking her mouth into his own. If the look of her lips was perfect, the taste of them was something else. They were as soft as they looked, and tasted sweet, similar to the way her scent was, it reminded him of peaches somehow. He ran his tongue across her lower lip asking for better access, and deepening the kiss once she opened her mouth at his request. One of her hands had made its way to the side of his face, and she had intertwined her fingers through his hair, pulling him as close as humanly possible. If heaven existed, it was this, Kagome’s lips against his own, moving in sync with one another, tongue’s battling in dominance, heavy breaths in between movements, little nibbles here and there. Inuyasha had never experienced something as glorious as this moment. After what seemed like forever, although it was probably no more than five minutes, they broke apart. Regaining their breath, they both just stared into each other's eyes. Sudden fear hit him, he had not thought through what would happen if he kissed her, would she be disgusted with him? Would she think he forced himself on her? No, she had kissed him back, not only that, but they had kissed before, back in Kaguya’s castle, but that time had been different, his life was in danger, she had had no other choice. As if reading his mind, and noticing the self doubt that currently ran through Inuyasha’s head, Kagome smiled, making Inuyasha’s heart skip several beats. “If I’d known this would happen, I would’ve tickled you a long time ago” confessed Kagome, stroking his cheek with her thumb, fingers still running through his hair. Her heart was beating a thousand miles per hour, head spinning, as she tried to process what had just happened. It had been glorious, she truly had not expected this outcome when she discovered he was ticklish. The thought made her giggle. “I- I had never been tickled before” He said, averting his eyes. It was true, no one had ever gotten close enough to him to do such a thing, he supposed his mother had done it when he was a child, but it had been so long ago he hardly remembered the feeling before now. Since then no one had bothered to touch him in such a way to discover what spots on his body made him squirm and laugh, not until Kagome. She pulled his face a little so that he made eye contact with her again, lifting her head up a little, she gave him a quick peck on the lips and smiled. It was true that Inuyasha had had a rough life, people tended to be afraid of demons and half demons alike. But he didn’t have to feel like an outcast anymore, he deserved to experience love, and all the little things that made life worthwhile, and she would make sure of it. “Well, I’m glad to be your first” As her words left her mouth Kagome realized what she had just said “That’s not what I meant I-” This time it was him that gave her a chaste kiss “I know what you meant, thank you” He was running his fingers through her hair, not wanting this moment to end. He took a deep breath, trying to engrave everything about this moment in his memory, before finally pulling away and getting up. He offered his hand to hoist her up alongside him. Standing closer than they normally did. “Just so we’re clear, I definitely won this war” he said with a cocky grin, making Kagome laugh and roll her eyes at him. “Fine, but next time I’m definitely gonna win, you’ll see” At that both their stomachs made rumbling sounds, both of them realizing they hadn’t had anything to eat since that morning before they had set out on their journey back home. “I think my mom bought extra ramen the last time you were here, how about we make some to celebrate your victory?”  Inuyasha’s eyes lit up in glee, as if he would ever reject the option of having ramen for dinner. “Let’s go then” he said, taking her hand and intertwining his fingers with hers as he guided her out of her room and down to the kitchen. Perhaps this had been the first time he had been tickled, and it would definitely not be the last one. As long as it was Kagome, and it ended the same way each time, with their lips pressed together and her hand on his hand.

kita, akaashi and iwaizumi staying up with their fem s/o because she’s studying for an exam.
Tumblr media
—kita shinsuke.
kita is 100% the type of person who has a consistent sleeping schedule
like bitch will sleep at 10pm and wake up at 5am bright and early and fucking gorgeous
you’ll never catch this guy slippin’ (the inarizaki vbc will upvote this statement)
the latest he’ll stay up is midnight which means that hes going to take more of the afternoon and evening to study
you’ll be studying with him in his room and kita will make sure the surroundings are peaceful enough for you to study effectively
he never hesitates to help you with some topics you don’t understand for the classes you both take
sometimes gives you studying tips that are really helpful
you check the time just to see how far you’ve come- its almost 10pm
youre worried about kita because bby has to sleep and you don’t want him to stay up for you !!
“kita?? kita where’d you go?” you’ll call out, thinking he’s already getting ready to head to bed
but you find him in the kitchen and you smell... noodles??? you watch him pour them into two separate bowls huh?
“i know you’ll be staying up late so have some noodles to regain energy.” he’ll carefully glide the bowl over to your side of the table, his black-dyed hair tips were still damp from taking a shower earlier
oof sis were u that focused on ur work that you didn’t realise he went down to cook you sth??
you have your notes in your hands, walking over to the table and sitting down “you’re not heading to bed yet? you don’t have to wait for me yknow.”
he turns the stove off, bringing his bowl of noodles to the table. “don’t you still have a few topics to cover? let’s continue.”
your face goes :O but your heart goes 💓💓💓
unbeknownst to himself, he’ll casually play with your feet under the table while he asks you questions to answer omg :( hes so cute tf
youre basically having a midnight study date with him
he’ll also compliment you when he feels like you’re running out of energy because he knows it gives you energy boosts :”)))
—akaashi keiji.
i firmly believe that this bby is a master at all nighters and does them when necessary
so when 9pm or 10pm hits, you both are in the kitchen making coffee because you know you still have much more to study
you love watching keiji make coffee like sometimes you stop stirring your own just to watch him and when he notices hes like “😳😳 what”
and you just shrug “you’re cute”
i guess keiji’s not used to your random compliment bursts so he just //blushes//
and then u give him a kith because his cute face deserves it
youre also wearing his sweater because he has an abundance of them in his closet and you totally raid it every few days
you guys head back to his room and begin studying again
the night is tranquil and the house is silent, it truly feels so serene when you put aside the thought of your final exams
then you remind yourself of the reality and it feels like shit all over again
akaashi obviously senses your distress so he put a hand on your outstretched leg. the warmth plays with your cool skin, relaxing your nerves a tad bit
it was the little things he did that made u feel better and maybe if you squint a little harder, you’ll know he’s telling you “i love you”
akaashi’s gonna be finished with his coffee within five minutes LMAO hes a fast sipper
youre wondering how hes able to pull this off every few months but i guess everyone has their own secret super power no?
at some point you find yourself dozing off at 1.30
“you ready for tomorrow?” “absolutely not” pfft. akaashi’s gonna think. he’ll drag your ass to his bed so you can sleep properly and avoid straining a muscle
“get rest, love, you should at least be awake for the exam.” is the last thing hear before you fall asleep on his comfy sheets
—iwaizumi hajime.
lots of chaos in the beginning and thats because you two made a stupid joke about godzilla and now you can’t stop laughing like a dumbass  every time you look at iwa
“y/n look at me-” “PFFFTTT” its literally the middle of the night and youve probably awoken the dead 🤷🏻‍♀️ no biggie tho
lowkey makes it easier for you to study because you’re awake awake yknow?
iwa defs likes to take care of you. he’ll pass you a drink to sip on whenever it looks like youre about to lose concentration and asks you from time to time if you feel like youve studied enough
WILL GIVE YOU A MASSAGE but you tell him no because that’ll only make you sleepier
asks you questions about your exam material. he sometimes gets confused by the question because he doesn’t take that class
he actually finds it cute when you have to shut your eyes to think of the answer and when you open them, hes staring at you fondly
its like “😳 is there something on my face you porcupine”
DID I JUST CALL IWA A PORCUPINE
this will lead you two into tickle fights and iwa convinced (not really) you that you should have regular tickle fights because ENERGY and BRAIN AWAKE 👍🏼
“call me a porcupine one mo-” ok this is cute because he tickles a spot that is super ticklish for you and you look- omg- you look so adorable all smiley
back to the studying part haha oh no youre starting to get sleepy
but you don’t wanna sleep yet!! you barely covered enough but iwa’s been watching u study and hes pretty sure you’ve covered the entire book since you started earlier this morning
idk i just feel like it would be nice if you laid flat on his lap and he just asks you questions and you try to answer them
his touch is just very nice and makes you feel safe yknow :)
you end up dozing off most of the time but you do try your very best to stay awake pls stop ur making iwa combust
after fifteen minutes of questions, you’ll surrender, exhausted
“tired?” you’ll hum in agreement and he’ll flip you over just to carry you into bed, tucking you in

The Choice - Chapter 2
Catch up with the story: | 1 |
Summary: Grey Syverson and Winter Derby set off into an interesting journey of life as neighbors. Grey Syverson is a cheeky veteran always falling in love with the wrong women. Winter Derby, a veterinary student ready to graduate and settle down with her long time boyfriend. Sy thinks his life is already full of joy and happiness - then Winter moves in the house next door.
It’s a story about overcoming barriers to be with your loved ones. It is about pure and intense romantic love, trust, strength and the reality that all choice is a cheap illusion
Thank you @iloveyouyen for supporting me no matter what and for beta’ ing this story for me. I love you ♥️
Chapter 2
“Hailey,” he groaned, “what have you done?!”
The brunette raised her eyebrow at him, a spoon with ice cream on its way to her mouth. “What’s your problem?”
The Captain clenched his fists and pressed his lips together in a thin line. “My problem is,” he spat, “that the new neighbor thinks I’m a fucking player.”
Hailey lowered the spoon. “And you care about that, because? It’s not like people haven’t thought that about you before,” she pointed out, “since when do you care what people think?”
Sy stumbled a step back, not knowing how to answer. She was right, of course. He usually didn’t care about what people thought about him, but it felt different with Winter. He wanted to make a good first impression on her because for the first time in years it actually felt like he had a chance of happiness.
Hailey’s eyes started to twinkle as she tilted her head to the side, her gaze never wavering from his face. “Uh-oh.”
Sy sighed. “What?”
A full smile broke out on her face and she leaned forward, pressing the box of ice cream in his hands before standing on her tiptoes to whisper in his ear. “I will tell you later.”
She patted his shoulders and walked away, her hips swaying playfully, leaving him alone with Aika and his ice cream. He mumbled to himself as he sat down, the box of ice cream still in his hands. He wondered if he should go back to Winter, to apologize, to explain. He didn’t want their ‘relationship’ to start off with her thinking that he had a girlfriend, while in reality, it was just his sister.
He pushed himself off the chair and moved towards the veranda, taking a deep breath before walking to the single chair that was waiting for him. He leaned down to turn on the small radio on the ground next to him, filling the air with his rock music. He sat down in the chair and leaned his head back, enjoying the peace and quiet that his music brought him.
It was tough, being a veteran living alone. Often he found himself trapped, stuck in his own head, especially at night. Aika was there when he woke up in terror, his body shaking with fear, she was always there for him, but the comfort of his dog was not all that Sy was looking for. He was searching for someone to share that burden with. Someone that would comfort him, wrap her arms around him and make him feel safe.
His train of thoughts was broken off by a hand of his shoulder, startling him. He opened his eyes and let them travel over the woman’s curves, ending with her face that was knitted together with annoyance, a look that he was too familiar with.
“What do you think you’re doing?” She demanded, her arms crossed in front of her chest. “It’s almost midnight, some people are actually trying to get some rest.” She pointed towards her clothes, clear evidence that she was one of those people.
He gestured to the radio. “I was just listening to some music.”
A faint blush rose on her cheeks as she locked her arms across her chest. “Now? You really couldn’t wait until tomorrow?”
“Ehm, no?”
Winter stomped her foot in anger and took a step back, her hands balled into fists. “You’re a fucking asshole, you know that? I thought I was able to get some rest because I have an important exam tomorrow, but no, mister Syverson decided that he needs to listen to some shitty rock music.”
He raised his hands in surrender, his cerulean eyes searching her face. “Calm down, woman. You have a terrible taste if you think that this music is shitty.”
Winter dragged a hand through her white strands and shook her head. “I don’t know why I expected you to be nice,” she turned on her heels and stalked back towards her house, “I’m dealing with a child here. No wonder you only own one chair, no one is able to bear your presence long enough for you to buy a second one.”
——————————————————
A loud banging on her door woke her up from her slumber and she moaned as she shifted to look at the time, grimacing as it was 2 AM. She debated on letting the stranger knock on the door, ignoring the sound, but Bear became restless and released a bark as he pushed the door of her bedroom open, rushing to the front door. Sleep hazed her mind as she found her way downstairs, supporting herself against the railing of the stairs.
A large, slender hand was slamming on her door and her eyes widened as she recognized the man. It’s been months since their first encounter and Winter had tried to avoid Grey Syverson like the plague, focusing on her exams and her graduation.
‘’What the hell?’’ she mumbled before turning the doorknob, raising her eyebrow to the veteran.
He was supporting himself against her threshold, catching his breath. ‘’The puppy’s,’’ he managed to get out, ‘’they’re coming.’’
Her eyes widened and she shrugged on a jacket, hurrying after him. Sy kept quiet as he rushed back to the house, his face taut with worry. She fought back a smile at his worry. He may be one of the most annoying people she’s ever met but at least he cared dearly about his dog.
‘’I woke up to her whimpering and when I examined her she started shaking and some kind of fluid covered the ground,’’ he turned his head to look at her, ‘’there’s isn’t something wrong, is there?’’
Winter reached out and placed a hand on his upper arm, squeezing slightly. ‘’It sounds like the first puppy should arrive within 20 to 30 minutes, depending on when you found the fluid. But I can’t tell you if she’s okay, not without examining her myself.’’
He bit his lip and nodded, showing her the way upstairs, into his bedroom, where the German Shepherd was panting, her tongue almost on the ground. Winter crouched next to her and the tired dog lifted her head, staring straight at the white-haired woman.
‘’It’s okay, darling,’’ Winter whispered, ‘’I know it’s hurting, but you can do this.’’
As on cue, another contraction ran through the poor dog’s body and Sy crept closer, watching in amazement as a small face became visible. The first puppy plopped on the ground and Aika immediately turned, cleaning the little one with her long tongue.
A gasp tore Winter’s attention from the small family and she started to chuckle as she noticed the expression on Sy’s face. ‘’Are you crying, Captain?’’
He wiped at his face, removing every evidence of his emotional episode. ‘’Shut up,’’ he snapped, but there was no heat behind his words as he stared down at the little squirming puppy.
It took almost 2 hours for Aika to get three puppies out. Sy became more and more worried as time passed and the last one wouldn’t show. The large man drove her crazy as he paced behind her, nowhere near as patient as she was. Winter knew she couldn’t blame him for it. Watching your dog give birth was a scary thing, especially with all the risks, but she knew what she was doing, so he had no reason to pace like this
‘’Quit that, will ya?’’
He stopped his pacing and turned to face her, his head tilted. ‘’What was that?’’
She sighed as she wrapped her arms around her knees, leaning against the back of the bed. ‘’Stop pacing, this is totally normal for dogs,’’ she patted the space next to her, ‘’sit down.’’
He dropped his hands, and lowered himself next to her, his shoulder brushing against hers. ‘’You really think she’s gonna be alright?’’
Her gaze trailed to the dog, who was sleeping, her head resting on her large paws. ‘’Yeah, dogs are different from humans. They have the privilege to rest inbetween giving birth,’’ she chuckled, ‘’it won’t take long now.’’
The Captain nodded and leaned his head back against the bed, his eyes fluttering close, shadows dark under his eyes. Winter watched in silence as his breathing evened out and his head started to fall to the side, hitting her shoulder with a quiet thud. She winced at the contact and was sure that he would wake up, but he surprised her as he snuggled closer to her, burying his head in the crook of her neck.
A shiver ran over her spine at the feeling of his hot breath against her neck and she released a shuddering breath before gazing at Aika, who was staring right back at her. ‘’You’re dad is crazy, you know that?’’ A lopsided smile made its way on her lips. ‘’But I kinda grew to like him.’’
‘’I knew you secretly liked me,’’ Sy mumbled against her shoulder, slowly coming back to his senses, startling Winter.
She pushed him off and scrambled away from him, a faint blush already creeping up her cheeks. ‘’You asshole, I can’t believe you’ve been up this whole time.’’
His cerulean eyes sparkled as he looked up to her, a shit eating grin already on his face. ‘’I wasn’t awake the whole time, woman. Just from the moment I hit your shoulder and - ‘’
His voice trailed off as his attention got dragged to Aika, who was shaking as she got hit with a contraction. Winter sat herself down on the bed, carefully monitoring the contraction. ‘’About time,’’ she mumbled, before rushing forward, catching the little puppy before lowering it to the ground, giving the new mom time to adjust.
Sy leaned over her shoulder to peek at the small family, a soft smile on his face. “Congratulations, we just became grandparents.”
———————————————-
“Are you sure you shouldn’t take them to the clinic? Just to be certain that they’re healthy?”
Winter dropped her head on the table, ready to slap the guy. “Yes, for the hundredths time, I know what I’m doing and they’re all healthy.”
“But - “
“Stop it, will you?” She interrupted him. “If you want to take her to the clinic, go ahead, I won’t stop you. But it’s not fucking necessary. It’s better to keep an eye on them here and not drag them around in a car.”
Sy dragged a hand over his face, debating her words before falling down in the chair across from her. “Fine, I’m sorry for doubting you. I just…. I want the best for her and not screw this up.”
She looked up and their eyes met, sending a strange spark through her body. “You’re doing fine, Grey. And you’re not alone, I will help. They’re my grandchildren too after all.”
A chuckle escaped as he shook his head. “I honestly don’t know what I would’ve done without you, Winter,” his gaze held hers, “thank you.”
She leaned back in her chair, a blush on her cheeks before taking a sip from her water. “Well, you definitely would’ve cried more without me here.”
He groaned and hid his face in his hands. “Will ya stop that? It was a long day, alright?”
She leaned forward and patted his shoulder. “Of course, Captain. I’m sure that’s it. But don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone that ‘the mighty Captain Syverson’ cried while watching his dog give birth.”
He pressed his lips together, knowing fully well that she was just teasing him and decided to change the subject. “Do you think we should check up on them?”
“Yeah, that’s probably a good idea.” Winter finished her drink and pushed herself away from the chair, leaving the glass in the sink before following him upstairs, her footsteps light compared to his heavy ones.
Sy stopped in the doorway and leaned against the threshold, his arms folded across his chest as he stared down at the little family of five.
“They’re beautiful, aren’t they?”
Winter raised an eyebrow, shooting daggers through his back. “I don’t know, you’re blocking the doorway with that large body of yours.”
He snickered and stepped aside, giving her space to enter the room and watch the puppies herself.
“Yeah, they’re adorable.”
He turned around to look at the clock before facing her again, a frown between his eyebrows. “Do you want to stay here?” He raised his hands to stop her from interrupting. “I mean to keep an eye on the pups, nothing more. You can sleep on the bed, I will just take the floor. I don’t feel comfortable letting you go back home at this time.”
Winter bit her lip to fight a smile that threatened to take over. “Grey, you know my house is like a 2 minute walk away from here, right?”
“I don’t care,” he snatched one of the blankets from the bed and plopped himself down on the ground, “you’re staying here.”
“Stupid, dominant, man,” she mumbled to herself before wrapping herself in the warm blankets, relaxing almost immediately, “your mattress is really soft, I like it.”
It was quiet for a few seconds.
“I hurt my back when I was still in the army,” he softly rumbled, “without that mattress I’m not able to sleep.”
Winter shot up and peeked over the edge of the bed. “What are you doing down there, you moron? Get up here.” She shifted to the other side and watched in silence as he settled on the bed, his features smoothing in just a few seconds. “Why didn’t you tell me before? I feel horrible for even considering letting you sleep on the floor.”
His eyes were already drooping and he fought to open them enough to gaze at her. “I want you to feel comfortable, and I know you hate me, so I didn’t want to bother you.”
She took a deep, pained breath and closed her eyes, her chin quivering. “I don’t hate you, Grey,” she whispered, afraid to open her eyes. When she finally found the courage to face him, she found him already deeply asleep.
She carefully brushed one of his curls away from his face before laying down on her side, facing him. A soft smile pulled on her mouth as a snore escaped from his parted lips before she was dragged into the sweet darkness herself.

you’re the cutest! 🥺🥺
slight good news for me! it’s the weekend for me now hehe ^_^ so i can hopefully chill a bit more over the weekend and get more sleep :’) but honestly i’m not sure how much more sleep i’m getting, seeing the amount of work i’m getting + some exams are coming in 2/3 weeks for me. honestly i feel like the school’s going easier on us already, i’m not sure, but i feel like the seniors from the previous batches had it way worse than me, but that’s just a guess!
honestly it’s not been that long since we moved to our new classes — our school year starts on the the day after 1 jan (unless it’s a saturday or sunday) so it’s been around 6 weeks since we’ve gotten into our groups! honestly speaking, seeing as our level hadn’t had much time to bond within the classes (honestly like,, around a day was allocated for us to bond? the first day of school), coupled with the fact that many of us had friends from our previous classes already, i personally think we’ve all already tried our best, especially since like everyone in our group is on the quieter side HAHA but i feel like over these few days, we’ve gotten a lot better? thanks to our teachers for giving us so much group work to do ig 😒 added to our existing workloads, but it did give us more chances to talk and get to know each other better!
the book seems a bit more complex and,, for the lack of a better word, mature? than what i’d usually read ASKSH but you are a good three years older than me (yes i’m a ‘07 liner). i’ve been trying my hand at some of these more complex types of books lately (or when i was on break HAHA haven’t had much time to read that recently) but they just can’t really seem to get into my head easily :’) i understand that it takes time though, so in the meantime i’ll just work through them slowly! but i love that there are beautiful quotes in the book! they just make the book a few times better in my opinion and there’s so much to learn from — just gives so much insight and there’s something about really powerful quotes that hit really deep at times.
i see how studio ghibli movies can make you feel warm and fuzzy! the art styles just make everyone and everything look so warm and the storylines are a wonderful mix of reality and fantasy, which just really lets us get sucked into the world (at least from the bits and snippets of the other movies that i’ve seen/heard from others) and you and the movie were born in the same year! wow that’s such a nice coincidence, esp since it’s your favourite movie ^_^ i just always remind myself that i was born the same year as girls’ generation and wonder girls and just think — wow it’s been quite some time since they’ve debuted 😮
yes 🥺🥺 my blanket 🥺🥺 it’s the most comfortable thing ever. and i have a soft toy that i cuddle to bed 🥺🥺 that’s just like- i squeeze it to my chest and then i curl myself in and it’s just so cozy!! (i don’t really think that’s supposed to be good for your spine tho SJDBDH) “enough hours of sleeping times” wipes sweat laughs nervously i don’t think 6h is remotely near “enough” but it’s the weekend so i can finally catch up on sleep! and making notes :’) wow i just brought myself down from a high so fast 💨 luckily there’s no battle tomorrow 🤩 it’s a rest day when we stock up on food & re-organise our troops
and omg i just saw your post about @/joonpiter on youtube and they’re so goooood !! clicked on the “we are bulletproof eternal” video first and omg 😱 FELL IN LOVE WITH THE EDITING AKSBSH SO GOOD!! am gonna be binging their videos for the foreseeable future. also i’ll recommend a youtube channel too i guess! it’s a guitar cover channel and it does mainly pop songs but i love the covers so much! i always play them whenever i’m studying :) the channel’s @/kenneth acoustic on youtube!
(looking through your anon list for anon name inspo as we speak)

oh goodness, sorry for the late answer but i hope you had a blast during the weekend 😭 rest up for the incoming week as much as you can. students like you deserve it </3 exam season approached way quicker than i thought it would oml im wishing you the best of luck, dear!!
the entire levels thingy you guys have is a little bit confusing but honestly, you should get the hang of it with the class bonding thing haha it's interesting that your school year starts in the beginning of the year tho?? anyhow, group works either hit or miss honestly, but it's cool that you're constantly paired up so that the "getting to know each other" process is sped up lmao
sometimes you just gotta be the one to bring some life in a group that's on the quiter side 🥴 it's all cool tho, nothing wrong with being a little bit more reserved. my heart goes out to those with very low social battery 😔
do you enjoy making yourself food or desserts? honestly im the kind of person who gets more satisfaction out of eating rather than sleep, so making like, idk chocolate chip cookies during the weekend feels nice :')
reading books like these don't come suddenly tho so no worries haha it will come in time and not everyone has the same taste in literature. i, for example, can't stand some of the more popular books like lotr for example 💀 i just don't... vibe with it eh idk anyways my point is, you'll find something you'll enjoy if you look for it a little bit!! the more you read, the easier and more enjoyable it will get 😩 i usually stick little tabs in the pages where I find thought provoking passages, so i can always return back to them and read them over and over again as one does 💀
the guache and like, the old school art style with the colorful foods and saturated nature landscapes and stuff just give me such a nostalgic feeling, coupled with the beautiful music and soundtracks :( just, really, comfort movies that i can open and listen to in the background or like, set up and watch as i paint or write something :')
it's really cold these days, so curl up in your blanket as much as you can to stay warm and cozy!! (im not sure about the. uh . the spine situation tho 😔) make yourself some warm drinks if you like and yeah, bundle up!! my motto is to just live day by day and do whatever is good, so just, do what you must and live your worries and doubts behind to just "live in the moment" ig :') i myself haven't been able to get this down quite right just yet, but hopefully we will all get there eventually!!
joonpiter got me through the first two years when covid first broke out and we had to go under lockdown. her edits are just so beautiful and a work of art that make me feel safe and lost in my own world when i put on my headphones. it hits especially different when it's past midnight and you can't sleep while the rest of the hous is silent, the world around you at a still :')
i'll be checking the channel out!! thanks a lot <3 sending you a lot of good vibes and hoping that the rest of your week goes smoothly <3

Hii long time no see!
Could you possibly write me an one-shot where the reader is having a anxiety attack because of quarantine (online school) and the boys help her trough it, and finish her schoolwork for her?
Hey! Thank you for requesting! I'm not the most knowledgeable on anxiety attacks, but I have first-hand experience of the stress of online education, so I've done my best!😊💛
Take A Break.

It takes all I have not to throw my calculator into the wall as it shows me the same result it has been for the past half hour. The wrong result.
My head has long since started pounding, my frustration rising as my brain brings up all the tasks I have yet to complete to the forefront of my mind, my heart wrenching at the thought of the amount of work still to do. A dull ache has set into my lower back, the pain being the result of hours of sitting in the same place, my eyes definitely strained from overuse, the constant staring at a screen having had significant impacts on me these past few weeks. The writing on the page swirls and blurs into a mess of symbols and letters, the diagrams too complicated for my tired mind to properly compute.
Groaning in helpless frustration, I throw down my pen and drop the calculator to the floor, my head falling to rest on my arms as I bend over the desk, my eyes squeezed shut as I try not to think about the workload. It doesn't help, and my stress levels only climb steeply with each attempt at trying to get past the seemingly impossible wall of hopelessness. Normally, I'd be on top of all my work, I'd have free time and I'd feel a whole lot more relaxed. But that was before I spent all my days listening to my teachers drone on behind a screen, my eyelids drooping closed every five minutes, my focus diverted by some tiny distraction, eventually finding myself incapable of recalling the last ten minutes of classwork. Having terrible network problems don't help, either; most of the teachers are incredibly incompetent in regards to technology, and find the concept of using their computers for teaching unfeasible,  allowing for hours and hours of disjointed lessons.
With this in mind, the same teachers then set tonnes of homework, requiring it for the next day, creating truckloads of work for me, who already has enough on my plate as it is. I haven't even finished one piece of tonight's assignments, and there's four of them still to be done.
Tears form at the corners of my eyes at the reminder, my stress boiling over as I come to realise just how hopeless it really is for me to get this done in time. Ragged breaths leave me as I try to fight off the uncomfortable tightening in my chest, my head starting to spin, my hands clenching painfully on the table, the pen in my hand snapping from the force of my grip. Ignoring it, I simply keep my head in my arms as I prepare myself to continue.
The sudden weight of a hand on my shoulder jerks me from the safespace between my head and the desk, my body snapping around to face the newcomer. A sigh of relief escapes me as I catch sight of the four vampires arranged around my room, each of them watching me with concern. David stands over me, his gloved hand on my shoulder, blue eyes narrowed down at me.
"(Y/n)? What's wrong?" He questions quietly, rubbing his thumb over my skin gently.
"Nothing." I respond, collecting myself unsuccessfully, only realising there are wet streaks on my cheeks when the platinum blonde carefully catches a tear on the tip of his finger.
"This doesn't look like nothing. What happened?" He tries again, the boys each coming to stand around me, Paul latching himself onto my back somehow.
I regard them for a moment before replying.
"I'm just stressed. School is really taking its toll on me. I have a tonne of homework due for tomorrow, and if I don't get it done, I'll get marked down, and I still have to figure out how I'm gonna manage to sit an exam next week even though I can't do it in school. And I'm really struggling with content, too. I never understand what's going on because I get so distracted, and the lessons always break up anyway because the teachers don't know what they're doing. And I haven't left the house in days because of this stupid virus." I take a breath, stopping myself before I can ramble on, "I'm sorry, it just got a bit much."
The boys say nothing at first, exchanging a look before David is pulling me over to the bed, settling himself down on it with me lying between his legs, my back lying against his chest. Confused I go to get up again, only for Marko to plonk himself down on my legs, resting his head on my stomach, a cheeky grin on his angelic face.
"What are you doing? I have to get this work done!" I protest, wriggling until David wraps his arms around me, trapping my arms against me with a chuckle.
"Take a break, (Y/n). God knows you've earned it." He purrs to me as he gently kisses my neck, the action reassuring rather than intimate in this moment.
"But-"
"Hey, no "buts"." Paul smirks, dropping onto the bed with us, taking up one of my hands and starting to carefully run his fingers over it. Each movement is soothing, the sensation of his cold skin against mine serving to calm my racing nerves.
"You should get some sleep, (Y/n). School can wait for once." Dwayne chips in, joining the rest of us and copying Paul in his actions, rubbing his fingers over the bone structure of my hand.
Still unsure, I let myself relax a little, enjoying the comforting touches of the four doting vampires, glad to have a group of loving boyfriends ready to reassure me. Under their ministrations, I feel my eyelids start to droop, the tension slowly flowing from my body with each caress, my lethargic mind desperately needing the reprieve the boys are offering me. Gladly, I fall limp in David's arms, quickly allowing myself to drift off to sleep after days and days of receiving next to none.
Upon waking the next morning, I feel appropriately rested for once, my energy at a seemingly high level, the headache gone. Somewhat content, I slowly climb out of the bed and go to the desk, noticing its tidied state, as well as the neatly written note resting on my laptop.
"Why do all the work for yourself when there's four other people you could share with?"
Smiling, I then look to the side, where I notice all the homework from the night before sat, completed, the papers all piled neatly in one place.
"They did it for me?" I mutter to myself, flicking through the sheaf of work, gratitude flooding me at the idea of being on top of all my work for once. I'd get more tonguth, but at least I wouldn't have to worry about the stuff from the night before.

♡ Wallflower  ♡
Pairing: Hoseok x Reader
au/genre/warning: Fluff; dancer Hoseok; Sunshine
Word Count: 3,776
Tumblr media
You’re the type of person who prefers silence, feels awkward in a tiny hint of spotlight, enjoys time for yourself, being in your own bubble and keeping small circle of trusted friends,
He is loud, enjoys the attention, friends with almost everyone!
Then your world turned upside down when you find yourself sharing the light with the one you’ve warned yourself to stay away from.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You always hated when he jokes around and makes the whole class squirm when he starts singing, rapping or dancing. You hate that he makes you smile with the way he laugh- slapping whoever is beside him or basically throwing himself everywhere. Hate that he sometimes disturbs you with annoying jokes, and most of all..  you hate how he can stop you from breathing and functioning with just a glance or more so when he says your name.
Okay, he is good-looking. And yes, talented. And yes, despite his boisterous laughter and loud personality, he is also a smart-ass. He aces exams, professors love him, and he’s really quite serious with his studies. He’s almost-perfect. Almost...because he annoys you and you know that means trouble.
So you choose to stay away from him, never acquainted yourself to him or dare get his attention. You prefer glancing from afar and being just a wallflower. You’re accustomed to being in your own bubble, minding your own business and staying away from the popular ones. Besides, you already got a plate full of responsibilities- keeping up with school, volunteering, and your job to at least help you balance your life. You’re surviving and thriving with the way you modelled your life.
But fate laughed and played on you when the yearly talent-show of the whole Uni started. You love dancing, always been your getaway from all the stress of life but never dared to join dance clubs and the like. The only time you can showcase your dancing skills is when you are forced to, like school requirements or activities. And this time, life put the greatest test on you.
“Okay, settled then! Hoseok and Y/N will lead the class for this year’s event.” Said Namjoon, the class President, as you enter the classroom from your job. You were almost out of breath from running just to get in class on time.
“Sorry, what?” you almost shouted. “The class decided, you’ll work with Hoseok while the other officers will prepare for other stuff needed. We have seen your performance during the dance show last week for our PE class and we have decided you have the talent. It’s time to finally share it, yeah? We need you to get past this semester, Y/N. Consider this as a charity for the whole class. Please?” You looked at him... His innocent smile and dimples popping out. You need to act cool and just go on with it. “I guess I don’t have a choice? If Hoseok’s okay with it then sure." It feels new to you stepping up, but maybe it is about time to make a change. Besides, you needed a break from studying and working. But then, you reminded yourself to step away from the limelight as soon as this is all over. This is just a one time thing but you’re literally anxious. You decided to shake it away. He’s out of your league anyway so it will all be good. You’re good putting up a wall.
Rehearsals are scheduled everyday after school hours, sometimes even on weekends. So this means you have to endure a month of preparation with Hoseok. It was okay at first, it’s purely dancing and putting your ideas together as a team. Hoseok leads us most of the time as he is one heck of a perfectionist when it comes to his craft. Never miss a count or else…
“Annoying!” you unconsciously blurted under your breath. “Sorry, what was that, Y/N?” he asked with his eyebrows raising. “N-Nothing. Just go on with the rehearsal. You’re good.” you said not even looking at him. You are literally shaking because him raising his eyebrows means you’re in great trouble. “Hey, this is OUR responsibility. I need you here. Please focus, Y/N!” He points at your phone, signalling to put it down. He is one perfectionist, and clearly a strict mentor! Most of the squad shivers when it’s time for business. But never forgets to be the Sunshine that he is during rest periods. He have different personas, which draws your attention to him even more. But you chose to stay in the shadow, as it is where you are comfortable…away from sunshine. You sighed and put down your phone. “Okay, from the top.” You almost shouted with annoyance.
“Okay, that’s a wrap. Tomorrow’s our free-time since you all did well today. Be careful of the rain! And inform me or Y/N if you reached your houses safely. Night, team. You all are amazing!” Hoseok says with full of enthusiasm despite dancing for hours!
“urgh! Fuck it!” you cursed while trying to contact another Uber rider. You’ve been trying to book a cab since the last break but to no avail.
“What’s wrong, Y/N?” Hoseok asked as he packs his stuff. All the squad are gone and now you’re here with alone with your worse nightmare.
“Uber have been cancelling on me, that’s why I am so annoyed the whole time. Sorry for it, I will try not to affect my performance next time." you said with a sigh.
“Okay, just this time. Your mood shows in your dance. Come on, I’ll drive you home. I don’t want you getting sick,". Hoseok said casually.
“No, no. It’s fine. I’m good" you insisted. “Y/N, it’s night time. It’s raining. You’re my partner and my responsibility.” He looked at you and you literally gasp for air. You need to practice putting a shield up around this guy. He’s melting every inch of you with just one look. You hated it!
You managed to nod despite trying to control your breathing as he moved closer. “We need to run to my car though. I parked it there" Hoseok lead the way out of the dance studio. The rain was pouring hard, and your clothes literally hugged the shape of your body as you run towards his car. “Jump in!” he shouted as he opens the door for you. “Just our luck! We might stay here for a while. I can’t see a thing!” Hoseok exclaimed. Zero visibility means a high chance of road accidents, and you don’t want that.
“Do you have extra clothes? You can change. I promise, I’ll try not to look.” He said with a smirk.
“Urgh. I used all my extra clothes. Thanks to your nonstop dancing and glaring Mr. Jung Hoseok.” you glared with annoyance in your voice.
He laughed and pointed at the back seat “I have clean shirt and towel here.”
He leaned towards the back seat and accidentally touched your shoulder. You tremble with his touch. It sends a lot of emotions and damn butterflies everywhere. Again, you hated it!
“Are you sure? Don’t dare to look or ISTG it’ll be your last day, Hoseok" you warned. He laugh and winked, annoying you a little more. You try to cover yourself with the towel but failed. “Let me" He said almost whispering. You can feel your heart beat so fast, and your body begging for air.
He holds both ends of towel and closed his eyes “I’m not gonna look. You got to trust me. So go ahead.” He said.
He looks so perfect upclose. His lips slightly pursed. His dimples showing. His perfect lashes. His nose you just wanna pinch. He looks so calm and ethereal. “Done?” he asked, bringing you back to your consciousness.
“N-not yet.” you immediately removed your wet clothes and put on his clothes. You scolded your self as you try to keep your breathing under control. “Okay, done. Thank you.” you said as you catch your breath.
“Wow, my shirt goods on you" Hoseok compliments, looking at you from head to toe. “I’ll give it back if that’s what you’re thinking” you said shyly. “No keep it, I like it better on you" he smiled. And for the first time, you found yourself smiling back, taking in the complement from him.
“I think we’re good to go. Do you wanna grab dinner first?” he asked. You shake your head. As much as you want to spend time outside your house, your body is just too tired and cold.
When you reached your house, the rain is already stopping. “Do you wanna go inside? It’s the least thing I could do for your....kindness" you asked, genuinely thanking him. “Sure. You have dinner? I’m starving!” he said without hesitation. “I’ll cook. But you’re not gonna tell anyone!” you replied, as you roll your eyes. You’re not the type of girl who would put on great effort for food, as long as it is edible it’s okay for you. Besides, you’re used to feeding just yourself. But this time, you out-done yourself.
“Hmmm. This is delicious! I didn’t know you’re this good.” He said. “Oh Hoseok, there are more things I am good at" you blurted without thinking. He smirk, and his gaze turned dark. “L-like... like....” you try to look for things but he laughed aloud. “Let me explore that side of you, Y/N. You really caught my attention since the beginning, you know" he said without breaking eye-contact. “What? How? I never wanted to be in the spotlight. I prefer being a wallflower. So how can you say that?" you said almost whispering. Urgh this Hoseok effect is taking it’s toll on you.
“You shine everywhere you go, Y/N. It’s hard not to notice you" he whispered.
He moved closer and you find yourself leaning towards him, too.
“woaaaah Hoseok! Why are you here?” Blurted your annoying little brother Jungkook. Hoseok bit his lips and slowly smirk at you while turning to Jungkook. “Hey there. I dropped Y/N here.”
Jungkook looked at you with his wide, annoying smirk. “We just finished rehearsals. So... you wanna eat? I cooked dinner" you try to act chill but your voice is failing you.
“You what??? You never cooked for me! What's...” Jungkook was about to say more but you glared at him. You don’t want Hoseok to have a hint, or whatever. He immediately grabbed a plate and start eating while talking to Hoseok about gym and music. But you know deep inside your annoying brother, he will never let this to rest.
You walked Hoseok out of the house after dinner. The rain finally stopped and it was getting late.
“Thank you for driving me home" you said shyly. “Thank you for the wonderful dinner" he said.
You stood there for a couple of minutes, not wanting this to end. Until he gently pulled you towards him...
“Come here" he whispered. You stood frozen and he enveloped you into a tight hug. You felt secured, safe, comfortable inside his arms. “H-Hoseok..” you whispered shakily. “s-sorry Y/N. It’s...sorry. I have to go then" he retreats. You smiled and bit your lips still trying to gain composure. “I’ll call you...when I get home. “ he said and left.
He called after few minutes for a quick goodnight. You never talked about the hug or whatever happened that night. You leave it at that, you’re fine. It’s confusing for you but you prefer not to say a word. Better to stay as a wallpaper than share the spotlight and gain attention. You’ve been a wallflower since then, and it’s best for you to stay like that…. Hopefully until graduation.

“Y/N! What time did you finish rehearsal last Friday?” asked Lia, my bff. “Not late. Why?” you answered while subtly looking around the classroom. “Heard you went home late?” teased Ryujin. You stared at them wide-eyed and they laughed. “No, Hoseok drove me home. Uber’s been a pain in the ass so I have no choice.” They both have this silly wide smile. You never told anyone what happened but clearly, your brother can’t get a hold of his tongue when it comes to Ryujin.
“Y/N", someone whispered from behind. “Y/N! Babe!” Hoseok said loudly that the class stopped. “What the--?” you glared back at him. “What? You’re not answering so I had to say it louder.” He said jokingly. “You’re annoying. Stay away from me Jung Hoseok!” you shouted back. You put your earphones on to ignore him and the class mocking you both. He seems to enjoy this teasing, you don’t. You hate him for that. You hated the teasing and the fact that he’s very vocal. Seems like it is just a joke, everything’s a joke. He will never get serious. “This is why I prefer to stay away from you. You’re trouble” you said to yourself.
*text message*
9:01 am: Hey, it was just a joke.
9:01 am: Please...
9:02 am: Look, I did something for you...
9:03 am: Y/N!!!!
9:03 am: I'll shout again.
You looked to his direction and he showed you a flower that he drew *insert Hobi's drawing *
You rolled your eyes and texted him back.
*text*
You: I’m a wallflower. I’m invisible. I prefer to stay that way. So please, whatever you’re planning to do, Hoseok, leave me out of it.
Hoseok: you’re not a wallflower. I see you. You shine.
You: stop it, Hoseok. Right now. Please.
You put your phone inside your bag and tried to ignore Hoseok for the rest of the day. He keeps on bugging you still, but you never let your guard down. Besides, you can hear him from afar because of his loud voice and boisterous laughter which is so easy for you to spot and stay away from. His energy transcends beyond the school walls, and he’s making your shield tremble.
During rehearsal, you can’t ignore him anymore. It’s going to be tough but you tried to keep it professional. But just as he said, your emotions can sometimes be shown in your performance. Even the whole squad knows you’re ignoring him.
“Okay. Great job. Tomorrow, same time. Same venue. And I expect everyone to give their best.” Hoseok ended the rehearsal as usual with a bossy, straight-forward attitude but with a sunshine smile.
“I’ll drive you home,” he whispered to your ears, sending signals in your body. You gasp when he moved closer and freeze when he gently touched your head. You were determined to turn him down earlier that day, but with simple touch you totally forgot that plan. You’ve been resisting, but he still won’t let go. He gave you food and water during the rehearsal break, he even gave you extra towel while you were mentoring one of the dancer. He keeps on reminding you to drink, asks for your opinion, and smiles once in a while in your direction. Whatever this is, you’re not sure. But you like the feeling of attention, it’s all new to you. You hated it, that’s for sure. But everything change when you let Hoseok pull you towards the light. Everyone notices you now, you’re getting compliments and people starts to notice the things you do and the things you excel at. It is new, and exciting, and overwhelming at the same time. Thanks to Hoseok who first noticed you, before you even notice yourself.
You stayed that way during the whole preparation time. He drives you home after rehearsals, and sometimes he picks you up during weekends. He’d park his car and have lunch in one of his favourite spot few minutes away from the city. You never talked about labels, you just enjoy talking on the phone with him till you both fall asleep, you just want to enjoy a bit of attention he gives you during school hours. He respects your wish not to disturb you or do anything cheesy during class. You both settled with silence of each other’s company. You get used to him following you around the campus- annoyingly but still being subtle. His friends stopped teasing you both when they start noticing that things between you are getting serious. It’s not just about the dance, partnerships or the fun of it now. You don’t know, but he’s changing you.
During class, he would sit far away from you. But during break time, he made sure to remind you to eat and drink. Sometimes he asks if he can sit down with your friends and couldn’t get his eyes off of you. It was uncomfortable at first, but then you found yourself looking to his direction when he’s not sited beside you. You even let him join your laboratory group and would help you manage to get through your fears of needles. You started to trust him and let him enter your bubble. Soon, you both were inseparable. Sharing sandwiches and even drinks.
“So tell me, what’s with you and Hoseok?” asks Lia. You shrugged your shoulder because that’s the truth. You do not know! You never talked about labels, who you are in his life, what’s the deal with all his sweetness and why are you letting him take the lead. “I just want to warn you, that thing-whatever you both have, is not good. You’re in for a heartbreak.” Ryujin voiced out her concern. “You need to ask him. People are starting to notice, you know. Even other class are asking and girl, get out. It’s big drama for those girls.” You sighed in response. They are right, girls have been very unsupportive with you.
On the day of the event, you prepared yourself to ask the big question. You’re not the confrontation kind of person but you need to settle this once and for all. Besides, you promised yourself at the beginning that this is just a temporary thing. After this task, you’ll go back to your own bubble, away from light.
“Wanna know my secret?” Hoseok asked before you go up the stage. “What?” you asked shakily. “I hate the spotlight, too" he said seriously. And for once you can sense his uneasiness. You unconsciously held his hand and smiled “You got this. Just think we’re still inside that dance studio. It’s just us.” you smiled. He pulled you into a tight hug and sighed, “What am I gonna do without you, babe?” he whispered and kissed your forehead which left you frozen for a moment.
“Can you celebrate after we get that trophy?” one of the squad teased and you immediately stepped back from each other. With shaky breaths and unstable heart beat, you went up the stage and dance your emotions away.
It was one tough performance. All groups are so great. But in the end, your squad won. It was one of the happiest moments but then reality sink in. It’s over. No more rehearsal flings and late night drives, what you have with Hoseok must come to an end, too. “Hey, you okay? We won but you seem off after the performance. Did I do something wrong?” he asked on your way to your house. You didn’t know how to answer so you just looked out the window and it seems like he can sense it too.
When you reached the house, Jungkook was nowhere. So no reason for him to stay longer. “Can I come inside? I think we need to talk" he said seriously. You just nodded without a single word, afraid of what’s coming. As you stepped closer inside, you can feel the impending end of what was the heart-stopping fling you’ve ever had.
“What's wrong, Y/N?” Hoseok asked wearily. “Hoseok, what are we?” you asked directly without looking at him. “We? Us?” he asked back, dumbfounded. You tightly closed your eyes trying not to cry in front of him. “We are perfectly happy with each other. We compliment each other. Aren’t we?” he asked, as he slowly lift your chin up. “Y-yes. But... are we...?” you shook my head and sighed. “I don’t know, Baby. All I know is I can’t stop thinking about you. I can’t focus if I can’t see you. I need you. I like you, Y/N. Isn’t it obvious?” he whispered. You can hear his sincerity,  you can feel it. “Okay.” you answered. “Don’t you feel the same way?” Hoseok asked. “I....I do. But I don’t want to assume things. I-" you didn’t finish talking. Hoseok put one finger over your lips to stop you. “oh Baby...” he whispered and touched his forehead into your.
He leaned closer and your heart starts pounding real hard. Your belly tightening, and your whole system shuts down. You closed my eyes and felt his lips kiss your shoulder and then he kissed your forehead. “Y/N. I---I want to kiss you real bad,” he whispered, asking for permission. You smiled and bit your lips.  It started with a simple peck. All of your worries and what-nots slowly fading away. This, you like this. You like the feeling of security and warmth he gives you. You love the fact that he sees you even if you can’t even see yourself. That you shine for him and so does he. You let go, finally. You let him take the lead. And you know, whatever happens next, he will never let you go. You can feel his tongue gliding over your lips asking for permission. His hands roam at your back, slowly caressing every inch. It was sweet, and hot.. and the kiss deepens. He pulled you closer... You anchored your hands on the back of his neck and begin fondling his hair. His hands glide to your waist, slightly pinching your sides. You gasp and let out a small moan. “Hmm. I like that sound" he whispered, and pinched you again gently. “H-Hoseok...” you moaned his name under your breath.
“Y/N, you’re making me want to do things!” he laughed with husky voice. You looked at him and bit your lips. He smirk, “don’t look at me like that. I don’t want to force you to do things that you don’t want to do, Y/N". He tried to get away but...
“What if I want to?” you bravely answered. You have enough teasing. Yes, you hated it. You want him. You want him and all his annoying traits!
“Oh baby" he whispered and went on kissing you. This time, deeper, harsher... Like thirsty individuals tasting wine for the first time. You drunk all the feeling and stopped fighting. You let go.
“Do you wanna go upstairs?” you smirked. “Oh anywhere with you, Baby" Hoseok answered.

Merlot and Meddling
I present to you; a fic born from the inspiration at the bottom of a bottle of wine.
Synopsis: Maybe Pansy could be right for once, maybe this is the closure Draco needs. Or maybe they’ve both just had a little too much to drink. After all, nothing bad ever came from drunk advice, right?
Warnings: Swearing
Word Count: 2494

-----
Draco took a large swig of his wine, swilling it around his mouth as he thought over Pansy’s idea. The two had already finished their second bottle and were now well into their third. The blond was laying languidly on his best friend's sofa, the raven-haired witch in question haphazardly strewn across the neighbouring armchair.
“Not a chance.” Was he slurring?
“Why the fuck not?” Pansy’s high squeal of disbelief echoed in draco’s ears.
“Because it's a moronic idea.”
“No it's not.”
“Yes it is.”
“No. It. Is. Not.” Pansy enunciated each word harshly, pushing herself up. Draco flicked his eyes over to her, meeting her determined gaze. “This will be good for you, Draco. And even better for me, when I read it sober tomorrow.” She grinned.
Draco squeezed his eyes shut, pinching the bridge of his nose as he resigned himself to the whims of a stubborn, drunk heiress, with a loud groan. “Fine.”
Pansy squealed, a horrific noise that only Draco ever got to hear. Sometimes he wished that being her best friend was a bit quieter. She clapped her hands eagerly. “Wonderful. It’s about time you got some of this mess-” She waved her hands at him, “- out.”
Draco sat up, enjoying the slight spin of the room as he downed the rest of his glass. “Top me up then, gorgeous. I’ll need my strength.” He drawled.
“In your dreams.” Pansy scoffed, placing her own empty glass on the coffee table. “I’m going to grab some parchment. Top me up too.”
If Draco was lucky enough, he’d wake up before Pansy tomorrow, and could burn the blasted thing before she could bully him about it.
----
Harry yawned widely, scratching his head as he plonked himself down at the staff table. Neville nudged the pumpkin juice towards him, shooting him a sympathetic look.
“Remind me why I took this job again, Neville?”
“Because you’re good at teaching people and making them believe in themselves?” The herbology teacher took a bite of his jam-laden toast.
Harry huffed. “Well it certainly wasn’t to stay up all night grading mock exams.” He pulled a plate of pancakes towards him. “I had more than enough of my own bloody OWLs and NEWTs.” He grumbled. “Should’ve thought this through more.”
Neville hummed. “Do you want me to pour some cold water on you?”
“Don’t even try it.” Harry smirked. “You can’t just throw water on The Saviour of The Wizarding World.”
“Did you forget I’m the one who stood up to Voldemort?” Neville raised an eyebrow.
“What has happened to you?” Harry shook his head jokingly. “Where’s the shy boy I grew up with?”
“Still bloody here.” Neville chuckled. “Just a bit more comfortable now.”
“Teaching suits you.”
“It suits you too, most days.”
Both young men turned back to their food, Harry reaching for the pot of coffee he’d asked for. The noise in the hall rose, and he looked up just in time to catch the post before it hit his plate. Being a Hogwarts alumni and a seeker definitely helped during breakfast.
It was just the usual, a copy of the day’s Daily Prophet, a copy of The Quibbler, a letter addressed in Hermione’s writing, no doubt reminding him of the Weasley spring get-together, and...another letter. He didn’t recognise the handwriting. He pried open the seal curiously, unfolding the letter inside:
-Dear Mr Potter,
The most famous, most brilliant, most bravest man to ever exist. Who’s arse we must all kiss, and lick, and fondle, though that may be just me. It really is a nice arse you know. Have you ever looked in the mirror? A truly fine specimen. You wouldn’t think it spent so much time on a broomstick being a bloody show off, but here we are, you with a nice arse and me with a picture of it in my head. How delightful.
I have been told to write this letter to get my feelings out. And though I would usually deny these feelings, everything must end - including these ridiculous thoughts. “What thoughts?” You may ask. Well, let me tell you.
I hold a rather large grudge, fuelled almost completely by my own damaged pride. Pride bruised by a lack of you in my life, and pride bruised whenever you are in my life. It is quite the conundrum, I tell you.
A lot of my feelings are unnecessary, some unscrupulous, some unwanted, unfounded, but most of them unreturned. For when have you ever looked into my eyes the way I do yours? When have you lain in the dark, retracing our encounters? Or remembering the colour of your eyes, or the pattern of your freckles, or the way you thin your lips in rage, or lick them with anxiety or when, perhaps, have you thought of me at all? Outside of your obligation to that is? Your obligation to hate me, despise me, distrust me. Please tell me that’s what it is; an obligation. Or at least tell me that you don’t anymore, don’t resent me, loathe me. That’s what I need to believe.
I certainly did you. I hated you, it's true. For many reasons. For stealing the limelight, for bettering me, for dismissing me. But I also admired you, envied you. Resented you, and myself, for my cowardice, for my choices, for having the family that I did, that I do.
I could go on and on, but the point is this- you still plague my thoughts. You still fill my head. You’re in my dreams, my nightmares, my desires…
And this is not healthy, it can’t be. Progress is healthy, moving on is healthy. And perhaps just imagining you reading this will contribute towards that.
So let me leave you with this, Potter: I feel so many things for you, and none of them can be resolved, or come to fruition. This is my attempt at goodbye. This is my attempt at starting anew. -
The writing is messy, the ink smeared in places, a stain of some kind in the bottom right corner. But Harry knows this handwriting, spent his teenage years seeing this writing, obsessing over it some nights. And he knows the writing on the front of the letter doesn’t match.
Which means Draco Malfoy did not intend for Harry to see this.
---
“Fuckkk…”
“My thoughts exactly.”
Draco’s eyes shot open, focusing on Pansy as she sat on the armchair, hair brushed, face washed, sitting in a fresh set of pyjamas. “Why the fuck are you okay?” He groaned, rubbing his face.
Pansy shrugged. “I had a pint of water and a sandwich after you passed out. Woke up feeling perfectly fine.”
“You bitch. Why didn’t you make me one?”
“And wake the beast? No, thank you.” She motioned towards where a mug of steaming tea sat under a stasis charm. “Cuppa?”
Draco hummed thankfully, sitting up carefully so as not to anger his throbbing head further. “Less of a bitch.” He murmured. He sipped at it, the warmth of it easing a bit of the tension in his body. “What time is it?”
“Just past eight.”
“So, really-fucking-early.”
“Yeah.” Pansy picked up her own mug. “I’m glad you’re awake though.”
“And why is that?” Draco sat back against the cushions, easing his shoulders as he took another sip.
“What do you remember of last night, love?”
Draco offered an exhausted chuckle. “Some of it.” He tried to think back. “We finished the third bottle of merlot, right? Or was it the fourth? And your dancing, that was great.” He snorted. “Merlin. You do squeal when you’re drunk Pans, I thought my eardrums- OH FUCK!”
“And there it is.” Pansy smiled at him.
“Oh Merlin, Pansy. Please tell me you burnt it. Please, Please.”
“I’d love to, Draco, I really would. It’s just…” She paused, looking uncharacteristically nervous. “I mean, I was drunk too.”
“Oh no, please tell me you didn’t send it to Blaise!”
“Okay, I didn’t send it to Blaise.”
“Pansy Bernadine Parkinson. What. Did. You. Do?!”
“Don’t use my full name!” She whined. “You know how much I hate-”
“Pansy!”
“Look, I’m sorry, okay? It might go well, you never know. I do sometimes have good ideas, and honesty is always the best pol-”
“PANSY!” Draco lurched forwards, his stomach doing the same. Merlin, anxiety and alcohol did not mix well.
“I sent it to Potter.” She whispered, eyes wide.
“WHAT!” Draco stood up so quickly he spilt his tea.
“You never know-”
“At Hogwarts?!” The blond slammed his cup down on the coffee table, standing over his friend.
“Yes?”
“Merlin’s tits!” Draco’s hand flew to his hair, running them through nervously as he began pacing. “Merlin’s fucking tits!”
“I mean, it's not so bad, right? You could still make it.”
“Make it?” Draco spun around to face her, his mind racing. What had he said? He didn’t even remember half of it. He was pretty sure he mentioned Potter’s arse, and maybe his father? The memories were returning slower than he’d like. Had he signed it?! “What time is it?”
Pansy cast a quick tempus. 8:11.
“Maybe I can get there before the post does?”
“Not looking like that, you can’t.”
Draco dashed over to the mirror, taking himself in. His hair was knotted and sticking on end, his trousers wrinkled, his shirt untucked and half buttoned, and he probably smelled as bad as he felt. “Shit, right, okay." He bit at his lips nervously, his head racing. “I’m going to go back to mine and shower and change.” He turned to face her. “Can you send a message through firecall asking McGonagall if I can meet her at the end of breakfast? Say something about a tour of the new quidditch pitch.”
“Yeah, yeah. Of course.”
“Wish me luck, Pans, or it’s gonna be you who’s in the shit.”
“Yeah, I get it, I’m dead to you.” Pansy waved her hand nonchalantly, as if she was already over the mess she'd created. “Just go and sort yourself out.”
-----
Harry read, and re-read the letter at least five times, barely even tasting his coffee. Was it true? Did Malfoy really care for him? He couldn’t deny that the slytherin had been his thoughts since the end of their eighth year, but to think he had been in his? That was insane, unbelievable. And yet, here he sat, holding the letter.
Maybe he was wrong, maybe it wasn’t Malfoy. Sixth year had certainly proven that he wasn’t the best at handwriting. But it added up, the ‘limelight’ , the ‘cowardice’, the ‘family’. And who else had been close enough to him to comment on his freckles, or lips, or eyes, and still matched the things that had been said like Malfoy did?
Fuck, what was he going to do?
“Come on Harry, you don’t want to be late.” He looked up at Neville. “You alright, mate?”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine. Just some unexpected news.”
“You sure? You look a bit frazzled.” Neville’s eyebrows drew together in concern.
Harry pulled on a smile. “All good. You alright?”
“I’m good. Got a whole day of first years today, you’d think they’d be better behaved this far into the year, but they can still be a bit tricky.”
“You’ll do well with them, you always do.” Harry clapped him on the shoulder.
“Thanks, Harry.”
The two men headed out of the Great Hall together. Harry was so distracted he almost didn’t recognise the head of white blond hair standing just outside the doors.
“Malfoy?”
Draco Malfoy spun around, meeting Harry’s gaze with a look he couldn’t decipher.
“Potter.” He nodded.
“What are you doing here?” Why was his heart beating so fast?
“I’m meeting Mcgonagall for a tour.” Malfoy wasn’t quite meeting his eyes. He looked good, his hair falling softly over his forehead, no longer slicked back. He was dressed in an all black suit, one hand tucked into his trouser pocket. He looked handsome and confident… except for his other hand, which was tensing and untensing over and over again.
“I’ll catch you later, Harry. Malfoy.” Neville waved goodbye, nodding at the Slytherin.
“Why are you really here?” Harry asked, though he was sure he already knew the answer.
“Well,” Malfoy’s voice caught and he cleared his throat. “I suppose I wanted to apologise, for the, um, letter.” He looked down, finally conceding his nervousness.
Harry nodded towards the doors. “The kids will be out soon, follow me.”
“Look, Potter. We don’t have to make this bigger than it needs to be. Let’s just agree to forget about it.”
Harry stopped, turning back to face him. “Why would I do that?” Malfoy finally looked at him. Harry lowered his voice, taking a step closer. “I don’t hate you, Draco.” He licked his lips, terrified of what he was about to say. “It was nice to know you’ve been thinking about me, too.”
Draco’s eyes lit up, before drawing together again. “I’m not in the mood for jokes, Potter.”
“I’m not joking.” Harry took another step forward, until they were only a few feet away from each other. He summoned his Gryffindor courage. “I’ve been thinking about your arse too.”
Malfoy’s jaw dropped, and he shoved Harry in the chest. “That’s not funny.”
Harry laughed, catching his hands. “It kind of is.”
“Oh shove off, you great big git.” Draco gave a small smile, trying to pull his hands away.
“Make me.” Harry whispered, holding on tighter. If you had told him two hours ago that he would be flirting with Malfoy outside the Great Hall, he would have told you to go and get your head checked for wrackspurts. He felt almost giddy with excitement and disbelief, and most of all, anxiety. He was just riding on the wave of adrenaline at this point.
Draco snorted. “Good idea, Potter. The hallway is about to flood with students.” The Slytherin didn’t look away though, his silver eyes holding Harry's with a hopeful look.
Harry finally let go of his hands, but neither man stepped away. “Take me to dinner then.”
“You’re asking me to ask you to dinner?” Draco shook his head in disbelief
“Yeah, why not?”
“Very romantic.” He drawled.
“Hey! I’m the one who had to decipher your horrific handwriting.” And read your half-lusty, half-sad ramblings on four hours sleep, he thought.
“Oh, Merlin.” Draco winced. “Fine. Do you want to come to dinner with me?”
“You could be a bit more enthusiastic.” Harry mock-pouted.
“I’ll bloody take the offer back if you’re not careful.”
“Alright, okay.” Harry looked over Draco’s shoulder to see students starting to pour out of the Great Hall. He grabbed his hand and gave it a squeeze. “Owl me the details.”
And with that, Potter dashed off down the hallway, leaving Draco’s fingers tingling and his stomach fluttering with butterflies. They were both doomed, surely, so why were they both so excited about it?

27 Help me I’m being hit on at a bar please be my fake boyfriend for a second
Scott was so totally getting kicked off of Stiles’s best friend list.
Stiles would like to say that first of all, he’d never even wanted to come out tonight. He had a class early tomorrow morning and he hadn’t studied at all for his upcoming big exam. Stiles didn’t like big crowded bars and he most certainly didn’t plan on getting drunk tonight.
But Scott had begged him and used the horrid excuse of ‘we never see each other anymore’ which Stiles would gladly like to point out hadn’t been his fault, thank you very much. Ever since Scott and Allison started dating and fell in love, there hadn’t been any more time for Stiles. It wasn’t his fault they never saw each other anymore.
But Stiles was a good friend.
Such a good friend that he got dressed that night and went out to wait for Scott at the local college town bar. It was only Thursday so everyone at the bar was either avoiding their responsibilities or had given up on the week, which he thought was accurate. And Stiles sat there for a whole hour before finally digging out his phone and punching in Scott’s number.
He got a voicemail the first time. And the second time. And the next three calls.
Before he could call a sixth, Stiles got the text of ‘Allison came over, can’t do tonight’ and Stiles was pretty sure he needed to start looking for a new best friend. Or at least a moderately good one.
Then some random dude showed up.
Stiles didn’t even catch a name before he tried to get away. He was tired, he was pissed off, and he didn’t want to be here at all. The guy that came over dropped a vodka shot in front of Stiles’s rum and coke and offered his best grin, but Stiles was not in the mood.
He picked up his drink and hurried toward the bar. He was pretty sure vodka-dude was following.
So Stiles did the most logical thing. He made straight for the scariest looking guy at the bar who currently sported murder eyebrows and a biker leather jacket and dropped down next to him, setting his glass down a little harder than necessary. He was pretty sure the guy nearly startled straight off his stool.
“I’m being pursued by a Hard Liquor Extraordinaire,” Stiles said, not daring to look over his shoulder. “So if you could throw your arm around my shoulders or maybe just not kill me, that would be great.”
The guy looked at him for a moment, murder eyebrows raised. Then he glanced over Stiles’s shoulder before offering Stiles a grin— an actual grin— and Stiles might have swooned a little.
He nearly fell off his own stool.
The guy slung his arm over Stiles’s shoulder and pressed a quick kiss against his temple, stubble rubbing against his skin. And Stiles totally didn’t whine at the back of his throat. The guy’s grin widened and he pulled back, waiting a moment before glacing over Stiles’s shoulder again.
Then he removed his arm. “He’s gone.”
“Uh... who?”
“Hard Liquor Extraordinaire.”
“Oh,” Stiles said, blinking a few times. He came back to reality feeling like he had taken that vodka shot, blinking at the guy’s face. Then he grinned. “You’re really pretty.”
The guy’s face turned bright red. Stiles felt his own heat up as he realized his own statement. Those words were not supposed to have come out. He did not mean for those words to come out.
“I mean… thanks for the help. I’m Stiles, by the way.”
“Derek.”
“Derek,” Stiles said, another stupid grin claiming his face. He didn’t have the chance to fight it. Derek was red all the way to the tips of his ears and the man’s hesitant smile really shouldn’t have been that adorable. He had bunny teeth. Bunny teeth.
Derek raised a self-conscious hand to his mouth and Stiles realized in horror that he’d said all of that out loud. Cursing himself internally, he ducked his head and started to push himself up.
“I should go.”
“No,” Derek caught his hand and Stiles froze. The man’s face turned even redder and he slowly let go. “I mean, Hard Liquor Extraordinaire is still over there. I can buy you a drink until he’s gone?”
Stiles studied his face. Then, slowly grinning, he dropped back onto the barstool. Derek waved the bartender over— a curly-haired kid— and gestured to Stiles’s drink.
“A refill, Isaac.”
“Sure thing, boss.”
Stiles straightened, giving Derek a wide-eyed look. The man barely met his gaze and blushed a little, waving a hand through the air. “I’m not the boss.”
“You’re so the boss.”
“My sister owns the bar,” Derek said, his eyes turning redder with every word. “She’s the boss. I just help out sometimes.”
“Oh my god, you’re like the second in command.”
Derek raised an eyebrow. Stiles laughed, taking the drink that Isaac pushed back across the counter.
“I totally get to drink free, right?”
“Well, I’d never make my boyfriend pay for his drinks.”
Stiles stilled, glass halfway up to his lips. Derek’s eyes rounded and he blinked a few times.
“Which was just a joke.”
“I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable,” Stiles said slowly, lowering his glass again. “I mean… if I did. The whole kiss to the temple thing, you know. If you’re definitely as straight as I am not or whether—”
“Not,” Derek said, cutting him off. “I mean—”
“Me too.”
Derek looked at him for a moment. Then he chuckled and Stiles grinned a little, taking a deeper sip of his drink than was probably good for his sober self tomorrow. But morning classes could suck it if he wanted to have any hope of not messing this up.
“So,” Stiles said after a moment. “What other perks would there be for the lucky guy?”
“Free bar nuts,” Derek said. Stiles rolled his eyes.
“Aren’t those already free?”
Derek laughed again and Stiles decided he liked that sound. He pressed his lips together, resting his chin on his hands as he studied the man’s face.
“Would they get to boss your employees around too?”
“Some of them might bite.”
“Dude, that’s so bad for customer service.”
Derek only smirked. Stiles raised an eyebrow, suddenly feeling a little bolder. And he was pretty sure he hadn’t had enough alcohol for that.
“Does the second in command bite too?”
That’s when Derek’s eyes flashed blue. Stiles was on his feet in a second, totally not stumbling back, but that— that—
Fuck his life.
Derek was jumping up in an instant too. Stiles raised his hands, hating everything for a moment. Of course, Derek was a werewolf. Stiles could never get away from the supernatural. He’d left Beacon Hills and come to New York to escape all of that, dammit.
Then Scott had trailed after him too. And Stiles could never get a break.
“Stiles!”
“Look, dude, I’ve got class tomorrow so I’m totally gonna go. Thanks for saving my ass, though, and I appreciate the free drinks. But uh, another time?”
“Stiles, wait!”
He didn’t. Stiles turned around and made for the door, ducking onto the dark street. He so had to get out of here. He had to go straight back to his dorm room and try to pretend as if this night had never happened. Derek had never happened. Stiles’s heart twisted.
He didn’t exactly want Derek to never have happened.
Still, Stiles had left Beacon Hills to get away from that all. And a werewolf with blue eyes… well, he knew what that meant. Stiles couldn’t. He couldn’t.
He didn’t get the choice.
There was a sudden hand on his arm, yanking him off the street and into the nearby alleyway. Stiles stumbled, a shout building up in his throat, but the hand over his mouth quickly cut him off. Panic crashed over him as all the terrible things that could possibly happen entered his mind and then Stiles found himself slammed into the nearest wall.
Blue eyes glowed through the darkness. Stiles’s heart skipped a beat.
“If I take off my hand,” Derek said. “Will you scream?”
Stiles glared. The man sighed.
“I’m going to do it anyway. Please just… don’t do that. Or I’ll have to rip your throat out. With my teeth.”
Fangs gleamed in the darkness. Stiles swallowed hard.
But Derek did remove his hand and Stiles licked his lips, making a face at the taste of salt on his tongue. Derek rolled his eyes before releasing his grip on Stiles’s shirt a little too.
“So,” the man said. “You know.”
“That you’re a werewolf.”
“We all are.”
Stiles raised an eyebrow and Derek sighed. “My sister, the bartenders. It’s a… family-owned business. Or at least, it was. It’s just in my and my sister’s hands now.”
“Your eyes are blue.”
Derek flinched and Stiles instantly felt bad. He wasn’t sure why, but he did. Maybe because the expression of grief that suddenly crossed Derek’s face. Or maybe just because Stiles realized that more than anything, he missed the smile that had been there earlier.
He swallowed hard. Derek’s eyes tracked the movement before he nodded.
“They are.”
“I know what that means.”
The man’s face hardened a little bit. Stiles raised his hands.
“Look, dude, despite the super-murderous eyebrows, you don’t seem like a bad guy. I just didn’t expect werewolves. In fact, it was the fault of one that I was at your bar in the first place.”
Derek’s eyebrows furrowed. Stiles shrugged.
“My best friend was turned when we were in high school. It’s kind of followed us around since.”
“Your best friend didn’t show.”
“Yeah, well, he’s kind of testing my last nerve right now.”
Derek’s lips quirked a little and Stiles could’ve sworn he was about to smile again. But then the expression faded and Derek let him go, stepping back. “I just wanted to make sure… We’ve had problems with hunters in the past. I wanted to make sure you’re not a hunter.”
Stiles ran a hand through his hair, nodding. He figured he should probably not admit that his best friend was dating one. Or even better, he was going to do everything in his power to make sure Allison never stepped foot in this bar.
Just in case.
“The flashing eyes,” Derek said quietly. “Were an accident.”
Stiles raised an eyebrow. Derek ducked his head.
“You caught me off guard.”
Stiles’s bite remark came back, hitting him like a punch to the gut, and he chuckled a little. When Derek met his gaze again, his expression was nothing other than hungry. Stiles felt his heart skip a beat once more but this time, it was for a completely different reason.
“So,” he said, crossing his arms and leaning back against the wall. “Biting, huh?”
“Don’t make this into a werewolf joke.”
“We’ve only just met and you know me so well.”
Derek rolled his eyes but he was definitely blushing again. Stiles bit his lip, debated following his earlier plan and going straight back to his dorm, but then surprised himself by stepping forward again.
Morning classes and good decisions be damned, right?
“So if I didn’t make it into a werewolf joke,” Stiles said, tilting his chin upward. “And made it into something else instead, we are in a dark alleyway, right?”
Derek’s eyes darkened. “Stiles.”
“You clearly know me well, Sourwolf,” Stiles grinned. “And the earlier forehead kiss was cute and all. But why don’t you try and put those adorable bunny teeth to some good use?”
The man growled at the back of his throat and in that moment, all of Stiles’s decisions to stay far, far away from all things supernatural flew out the window. He grinned even wider as the man backed him against the wall, raising his chin upward. And when Derek caught his lips hard, with a hint of fang, Stiles didn’t even have a coherent thought to realize this was probably a bad idea.
Because Stiles would like to say that first of all, he had never even wanted to come out tonight. He had early classes and he was totally unprepared for his upcoming exams. An currently, he wasn’t drunk enough to be making such bad decisions.
But uh… murder eyebrows and a biker leather jacket. That was all that really needed to be said on the subject, right?
Morning classes be damned.

Okay, this was gonna be meet-cute but then it was making out in a dark alley way and I... have no regrets? I have some regrets. I hope I did the prompt justice though! I adore you, Matt <3

Pairing: Tom Holland x Reader
Masterlist

Tumblr media
“Are you serious?” Tom whined Into the phone.
“I know.” Harry sighed. “I’m sorry. But if I don’t make up my exam today, my professor is gonna fail me. There’s no way I can make it to set today.”
“It’s not your fault.” Tom didn’t want to put the blame on his brother. “I just really need an assistant. I get disorganized and stressed when you’re not there.”
“I know. That’s why I’m sending in a substitute assistant for the day.” Hardy replied.
“A substitute?” Tom sighed. “Who? I don’t really feel like teaching a stranger my whole schedule.”
“I already got them up to date on what they need to do.” Harry assured his brother. “And they’re not a stranger. You’ll know her when you see her.”
As if on cue, Tom heard a knock on his trailer door.
“Tom?” You asked as you entered his trailer. Tom turned to the voice and his eyes widened at the sight of his childhood best friend. You were grown now, as was he. Your baby face had melted into a beautiful young woman. Your hair was lighter and your skin tanner, no doubt from the LA sun. He hadn’t seen you since you were 10, and you told him with tears running down your face that you were moving to America after growing up next to each other all your lives. Tom let the phone fall from his hand and felt his throat dry out.
“Y/n?” He asked hopefully. “Is that really you?”
“I think so.” You smiled. That was something that hadn’t changed. You still had the same angelic smile Tom remembered from his childhood, and it made him smile back.
“I haven’t seen you since we were kids. God, I barely recognize you when you’re not in a princess dress.” Tom laughed, still taking you in.
“And somehow, you still look like a prince. Nice hair.” You nodded towards his quaff and he blushed in embarrassment. It felt like you had fallen right back into how you used to be, and Tom was loving it.
“Trust me, it wasn’t my decision.” Tom defended his Prince Charming-esk hair.
“I like it no matter who’s decision it was.” You shrugged with an easy smile. “I see you still like to wear the same clothes.” You pointed at his Spider-Man suit with a cheeky smile. You and Tom had grown up in love with the 16 year old superhero, and him playing him was a dream come true.
“Yep.” Tom agreed, thinking back to late nights on the trampoline pretending to be Spider-Man. “This ones a little fancier but a lot harder to use the bathroom in.”
“If I remember correctly, you never had a problem using the bathroom in uncomfortable costumes before.” You raised your eyebrows and Tom groaned.
“I pee my pants during one school play and you never let me forget it.” He whined.
“Just trying to keep you humble, movie star.” You winked. “And I can’t get over it since it was during my only speaking line.”
“I was nervous.” He declared.
“You were a tree!” You protested.
“A nervous tree.” Tom defended. “And I can promise you, I have not peed during any scene since then.”
“I hope not, because as your assistant, I’d have to help you clean up.” You pointed out.
“How’d you end up as my assistant anyway?” Tom wondered, not that he was complaining.
“I moved to LA a month ago to follow my career and I ran into Harry yesterday at a cafe. He told me he was about to fail some class and I asked what I could do to help, and this is what I could do.” You replied. 14 years missing each other and you just so happened to run into Harry in a cafe.
“I’m gonna feel bad making you do things for me though.” Tom realized. He didn’t want to boss the only girl he ever loved around all day. Getting coffee was beneath you.
“Don’t.” You assured him. “Do you know how hard it is to find a job in LA? I will be your assistant for the rest of my life if you want.”
“Oh, okay.” Tom nodded, feeling a little disappointed that you were only in it for the job.
“Plus, I get to hang out with my childhood best friend on a million dollar movie set. Trust me, I’m living the dream.” You smiled and poked his arm. At the first contact with you in 14 years, Tom felt his body light up like a live wire. He pulled you into a hug and held you there as if his life depended on it.
“I have missed you.” He said, voice wavering with emotion.
“I guess I missed you too.” You shrugged in his arms.
“Ouch.” Tom laughed at your indifference.
“I’m only teasing.” You laughed back. “My friends from high school and college know everything about you. You were all I talked about.”
“I get it. You wanted some street-cred for knowing a celebrity.” Tom said with a cocky grin.
“I actually never told them you were famous.” You answered, still in his arms.
“Really? You didn’t tell them you and Spider-Man used to finger paint portraits of each other?” Tom looked down at you the best he could.
“I told them about those portraits, but not that it was with Spider-Man.” You replied.
“Why not?“ Tom wondered.
“Because it wasn’t.” You shrugged. “It was with you. I knew you before you were famous and that’s the Tom I remember. I told them about how you were secretly a great carpenter but pretended to be bad so your mom wouldn’t make you go to carpentry school and how you accidentally ran over a butterfly with your bike and cried for a month. Those are the things I remembered and loved about you. You being famous is the least interesting thing about you.”
Tom was speechless with your words. You loved him for him, and clung on to your memories the same way he did. He squeezed you tighter and sniffled a little.
“I really missed you, Y/n.” He repeated. It was all he could say.
“I missed you too.” You smiled softly as you hugged your childhood best friend. You and Tom stood in silence, quietly swaying as he rested his chin on top of your head. No words were spoken, but no words were needed. You let your body language speak the words you didn’t have a chance to all those years you were apart.
“Now go make me a coffee.” Tom said, breaking the silence. You slipped out of his hug and gave him a shocked face.
“I’m kidding! I’m kidding!” Tom pulled your back into his arms with a laugh, placing a gentle “welcome home” kiss on your forehead. “I drink tea.”
You spent the day at Toms beck and call. He was incredibly easy to work with and just as kind as you remembered. He always sent you away with a “please” and greeted you with a “thank you.” You brought him his tea, script, schedule, and anything else he asked for. He was filming all day, but spent every break and lunch with you, just catching up. He learned that you were single and trying to become a playwright. Tom told you you’d be amazing. He was just as you remembered; goofy, annoying, and just about the sweetest guy alive. The day ended before you knew it and soon it was time to leave.
“I’ll see you when I see you.” You said as you gathered your things from Toms trailer, feeling deflated. He was busy at work and your time together was ending.
“Right, I’ll see you.” Tom said before putting his hand over his pocket. “Oh, what’s that? My phone is ringing?”
“I don’t hear a-“ you tried to say.
“-oh, it’s definitely ringing.” Tom cut you off as he took out his phone and held it to his ear. “Hello? Oh Harry! It’s Harry.” Tom whispered to you. “What’s that? You can’t be my assistant tomorrow either? You’re failing another class? Gosh golly darn it. I don’t know where I’ll find an assistant on such short notice.” Tom sighed loudly and you bit back a smile as his ridiculous behavior. “What did you say? You think Y/n should stay for another day? That’s a great idea Harry. Gee, I wish I thought of that idea. I’ll ask her. Okay. Bye now.” Tom pretended to hang up the phone and looked at you.
“Harry’s not coming tomorrow either.” Tom sighed again.
“Really? I had no idea.” You played along.
“I guess you’ll just have to be my assistant again tomorrow.” Tom shrugged as if he didn’t orchestrate the entire plan.
“I guess I will.” You shrugged back. You and Tom shared shy smiles, feeling like kids again.
“So I’ll see you tomorrow?” You asked as you made your way out.
“Yes. Tomorrow.” Tom nodded and watched you leave.
“Damn it.” The director grumbled as he got off the phone the next day.
“What’s wrong?” You asked as you fixed Toms hair before his next scene where Spider-Man had to save a girl from a falling truck.
“The extra broke her leg over the weekend.” He answered. “She’s not coming.”
“Can’t you just use someone else?” Tom asked.
“We’d have to find a girl who can fit into her costume and act in under half an hour to stay on schedule. That’s not happening in such short notice.” The director sighed and checked his clipboard.
“Y/n could do it.” Tom spoke up.
“What?” You asked him.
“It’s perfect.” Tom continued. “You can act and you can fit into her costume. We used to do plays all the time when we were younger.”
“A year 3 play is a lot different from a Marvel film.” You reminded him.
“Not really. Anthony Mackie acts like a third grader anyway.” Tom answered. “You’ll be fine. All you have to do is scream.”
“Tom, I can’t.” You said out of the corner of your mouth.
“Please?” He begged. “If we don’t shoot this scene today the whole movie will be delayed.”
“I’ve never been on camera before. I can’t just jump into a Spider-Man movie.” You protested.
“I did! Actually, I flipped in.” He corrected himself. “That’s besides the point. The point is, you’re amazing, you’re talented, you’re here, and I need you.” Tom listed. “Please?”
You looked at Tom and sighed. “What do I have to do?”
“Yay! Thank you!” Tom kissed your forehead. “All that’s gonna happen is I’m gonna swing down and pick you up to stop you from being crushed by a falling truck. Then we just swing around New York before I set you down all safe and sound. That’s easy enough, right?”
“Swing me around?” You gasped. “How high?”
“40, maybe 50 feet.” Tom shrugged.
“50 feet?!” You shrieked.
“I said maybe!” He shot back.
“I’m not good with heights.” You whined.
“It’s okay. I’ll be holding onto you the entire time. You’ll be safe in my arms.” Tom assured you, and you almost believed him.
“I don’t know.” You bit your lip.
“Come on, Y/n. We were the biggest Spider-Man fans as kids. You always told me it was your dream to swing around in his arms. This is your chance.” Tom pleaded with you as you felt the eyes of the entire cast and crew staring at you.
“My chance to fall 50 feet and die.” You shot back.
“You won’t fall. I won’t let you.” Tom promised as he held his hands under his chin in a pleading position.
“Fine.” You blurted. “What do I have to say?”
“You don’t have any lines. You just need to scream. You don’t even need a script.” Tom smiled as you were rushed off to hair and makeup.
Next thing you knew, you were changed into your costume, harnessed and had wires attached to you, Tom as well.
“Ready?” Tom gave you an excited thumbs up.
“No.” You answered, but couldn’t help the smile that appeared. Tom shot a grin back at you before slipping on his mask. The first story nodded at you, and you nodded back.
“Action!” The director called.
You did as you were told. You started running away as the cameras followed, always looking back and screaming.
You tried to go left and a car exploded in your way.
You tried to go right and a telephone line fell, blocking your path as sparks flew. You had nowhere to go and no one to save you. Then, the truck came flying at you. You screamed and covered your face just before Spider-Man came swinging in and swept you off your feet. You kept your eyes shut as Tom gave your hip a reassuring squeeze. You didn’t watch as you felt the worse pulling you higher and higher. You just held on tightly to Toms neck and prayed for a safe landing.
“Give is a scream!” The director called from below. You did as you were told.
“It’s okay. I got you!” Tom said triumphantly as Peter. He saw the platform he had to land on and squeezed your hip twice to let you know it was ending. He stuck his landing and you felt your feet touching the floor again. You slowly took your face out of the crook of his neck and looked around, timid and afraid, before looking at Tom.
“See? I told you I got you.” Tom laughed sprightly and gave you a squeeze.
It was in the script.
All of it.
The words, the swing, the moment. The extra who didn’t show up knew that. Tom knew that. The cast and crew knew that.
Not you though.
You’d never read the script. Not that scene anyway. So in the rush of the moment with your favorite superhero’s arms around you and your heart beating rapidly from the adrenaline, you lifted Toms mask above his nose and kissed him firmly without a second thought. The kiss softened and he cupped your face before you pulled away and shook your head to wake yourself up.
“Thanks Spider-Man.” You said bashfully and slowly took your arms from around his waist.
“Okay. You have a good day ma’am.” Tom pretended to tip an invisible hat at you and ran out of frame.
“Cut!” The director yelled.
“Sorry, I kinda went off script at the end there.” You quickly commented to both Tom and the director before it could get anymore awkward between you and Tom. He hadn’t removed his mask yet, and you were glad he hadn’t. You didn’t even know why you kissed him. You just did. Everything in you told you you had to.
“No problem. You were feeling the moment. All good actors do. You’ve felt the moment before, right Tom?” The director asked.
“I definitely felt something.” Tom said in a strange way.
“Y/n, Tom, great work. I think we got everything we need. You two can go home for the day. See you tomorrow.” He smiled and patted Tom on the back. Tom removed his mask and was just as red underneath. At first, no one spoke. Then he cleared his throat, then you. Finally, you had to speak.
“Sorry about that.” You offered.
“Don’t be.” Tom smiled tightly.
“It’s just, you know how long I’ve loved Spider-Man and when we were shooting that scene”, your heart started to pound again like it did when you were in the air, “it all felt so real. You in your suit looking like Peter Parker, I mean it was just magical.”
“I’m aware of how magical it was.” Tom smiled genuinely this time.
“No, but you’re used to it. Swinging around with the wind in my hair and your arms around me, I just got so emotional that I kissed you” you explained. “All I could do in that moment was kiss you. Uh, kiss Spider-Man I mean. I just really needed to kiss Spider-Man.”
“Right. Spider-Man.” Tom nodded, suddenly wondering if he wanted to be more than friends with his old friend.

took me a bit to get my words strait, the idea is like the Black Bulls and Blue Roses have to do a joint mission or something, they each send Magna and Sol not knowing who the others were going to send. so sol and magna have to get along to get the mission finished. something happens and sol gets hurt, and magna has to help her. he asks why she hates him, she explains why she hates men, and he just talks some sence into her. not sure on the rest though.
OMG I FINALLY FINISHED! Damn this took me much longer than I thought, but here it is. I personally don't think it's my best writing, but I blame that on finals. I also made this longer than my usual requests. Anyway, I hope you enjoy!
Don't Judge A Book By Its Cover
Magna took a hesitant glance around the common space. There was no one there, but Magna could never be too sure. That pudding thief was out to get him. This time, Magna would make sure he didn't lose his pudding to that jerk. With one more hesitant glance, Magna swiftly opened the pantry and snatched a pudding cup from one of the lower cabinets.
The lightning bolt flew past Magna's head and struck the pantry. He'd been spotted. Magna dodged another lightning bolt that struck the place he'd been standing moments before. A nearby hallway appeared in Magna's peripheral vision. He bolted for the hallway, but he ran into someone before he could leave.
"The hell? It was peaceful while I took my dump. Now I have to deal with this?"
Magna dropped down to one knee immediately. "Captain Yami Sir!"
"Better run Magna, or your clothes might catch fire!"
Yami sighed before snapping his fingers and pointing to the ground in front of him. Luck appeared instantly and sat on the floor beside Magna.
"Hey Captain! You finally going to fight me? How much do you want?"
"Damnit Luck. I'm not going to fight you. I have a special mission."
Magna nearly jumped. A secret mission! This would definitely get him stronger than Luck. Yami ignored Luck's bouncing and pointed at Magna.
"You. I need you for this mission. It's going to be a joint mission with a member of the Blue Rose Knights. We can only have one or two people go, so I'll send you this time. It'd be too much trouble for both you and Luck to go."
"Awww," Luck groaned. "But I want to go too!"
Yami ignored Luck's plea and turned him full attention to Magna. "You leave here tomorrow. I need you to investigate some suspicious dealings going on near Rayaka Village. Since you lived there as a kid, I'd figured you were best fit for the job."
"Thank you very much Yami Sir!" Magna stood and saluted. "I won't let you down!"
•~•~•~•
Sol groaned as her squad mates all chatted about their boyfriends. What was the appeal with men anyway? They were all dirty, idiotic, and other things that Sol couldn't remember off the top of her head.
"I went to the beach with my boyfriend a few months ago, and he was so ripped!"
"Oh wow, really? I want a peek of that!"
"No way! He's mine." The two girls chuckled between each other.
Sol rolled her eyes as she poked at her dinner. It was very hard to eat when her squad mates would talk about men non-stop. Remembering the men who disappointed her, Sol scoffed and shoved some vegetables into her mouth. Her food didn't taste as good when she reminisced about her past.
The chatter between the girls quickly died down. Sol automatically saluted when she spotted her captain out of the corner of her eye.
     "Big Sis!"
Charlotte rolled her eyes. "Sol, I've told you before to call me 'Captain', not Big Sis."
     "Ok, Big Sis!"
Ignoring Sol, Charlotte walked away, but she motioned for Sol to follow her. After some time, Charlotte finally stopped.
"So, what do you need me for?"
"I have a special mission for you."
     Sol smiled. "Me? Really?"
Charlotte nodded. "I need you to investigate something near Rayaka Village. You will be working with a member of the Black Bulls. Get yourself ready. You leave early tomorrow morning."
With a glimmer in her eye, Sol saluted her captain. "Yes!"
•~•~•~•
Magna squatted on a rock that overlooked Rayaka from a cliff. The breeze blew gently around Magna as he stole another glance around the area. It seemed like the perfect day for a secret mission, and yet, his partner from the Blue Rose Knights hadn't arrived yet.
"Damn, when are they gonna get here? It's almost noon. The sun's gonna roast me before they get here." Magna grumbled.
     "No way, funglasquent?"
Magna whipped his head around at the sound of the voice from behind him. His eyes landed on a familiar, tall figure.
"You? The giant girl from the Royal Knights Exam?"
Sol groaned. "Unbelievable! Why did I get stuck with you?"
"Same question to you, giant girl!" Magna sighed as he stole another glance at Rayaka. "Captain Yami gave me this mission because I lived in this town when I was young, so I can navigate around here better than my squad mates."
Sol hesitated a moment. That was a valid reason for the short punk to come along on this mission. Charlotte didn't give her an explicit reason for coming. It must be because she was the one who was best suited for this mission.
"Well, my captain believed I was the one best suited for the mission."
"Even so, you gotta listen to me this time. I know this village like the back of my hand. If we want to catch those magic item smugglers, you have to follow my orders." Magna spoke dismissively as he turned his attention back to Rayaka. He usually wasn't as into missions as he was now. Any threat to Rayaka was a personal threat against Magna.
"Who died and made you captain?" Sol spat. "I don't see why you have to lead the mission."
"Ugh, don't you get it, giant girl? I lived here. I know all the best places to hide and store expensive things. I can catch those smugglers. Now, we have to cooperate to get this mission done."
Sol pondered Magna's words for a moment. She did want to please Captain Charlotte and finish this mission, but she didn't want to listen to a man of all people. Listen to a man or finish the mission successfully. Those were Sol's two options. After a few moments, Sol settled on the best option: listening to the glasses punk.
"F-fine." Sol spat. "I'll listen to you."
"Finally!" Magna cheered. "See that Yami Sir? I'm following in your footsteps!"
Not wanting to watch Magna cheer, Sol turned her eyes to Rayaka. She spotted a group of people flying on brooms a good distance away from the village.
"Hey, funglasquent. There's a group of people approaching Rayaka from the east." Sol tapped her foot on the ground as Magna stopped his cheers to look in the direction Sol mentioned. Sure enough, there was a large group of people approaching. They stopped abruptly and descended into the forest below.
     "That's kinda sus..." Magna muttered.
     "Sus?" Sol echoed.
Magna nodded. "Yeah, sus. Short for supilicious or something."
"Ugh, you mean suspicious, don't you?"
     "Exactly."
Sol had wanted to laugh, but that would mean admitting his joke was funny. He was serious, which made it funnier. Sol had a feeling he wasn't joking though.
"Alright tall girl! Hop on my Crazy Cyclone and we'll get to those bandits in a jiffy." Magna leaned against his broom, which was modified to look like some weird contraption.
Rolling her eyes, Sol made her way over to the Crazy Cyclone and sat on the back. "This thing is horrid, but at least it matches your punky vibe."
"Aww thanks!" Magna smiled as he sat on the Cyclone before freezing. "Wait, that wasn't a compliment!"
"Let's get a move on, funglasquent."
Magna started up the Cyclone as he grumbled under his breath. Before they took off, Magna told her to hold onto him somewhere. Sol considered letting go and jumping off, but she reluctantly gave in and held on. She wanted to complete the mission Charlotte gave her. Nothing would stop her, not even a gross man.
•~•~•~•
Eventually, Magna landed the Crazy Cyclone close to where the group landed. It was definitely dangerous for Sol and Magna to approach the large group by themselves, but they were the only ones who could.
"Why did that guy disappear into a hole in the ground?" Magna pointed at a nearby tree with an odd-looking branch.
"Did he?" Sol asked. She doubted that was possible, but thieves would do anything for money.
Magna nodded. "Yeah. He pulled on that funky looking tree branch. I think we should follow him."
"Whatever idea you have is dumb. We'll probably get killed going down there."
Magna crossed his arms. "Well what's your plan, O Wise One?"
Sol stared off to the side before shrugging her shoulders. Groaning, Magna turned his attention back to the tree. As he thought about what to do, an idea struck him like Luck shooting him with lightning.
     "Hey, tall girl."
     "Yeah?"
Magna rubbed his hands together. "What if we wait here for them to come out!"
Sol arched an eyebrow but said nothing. Magna kicked a nearby pebble. "Damn, that sounded way cooler in my head."
•~•~•~•
After several hours of waiting, the sun was setting and Sol and Magna had done nothing. The suspects hadn't come out of their little hole in the ground. Sol was seriously considered heading home until she imagined how her captain would react. After a few more moments of thought, Sol decided to stay.
"Ugh, I thought this was supposed to be a secret mission!" Magna grumbled from the ground. "I was ready to kick some ass!"
"I'll kick your puny little man ass if you don't shut up."
Magna sat up defiantly. "Damn, what's with you giant girl? What did I ever do to you?"
Sol turned her face away. "You're a man. That's my problem with you."
"So, you hate me for something I can't control?"
Before Sol could retort, there was some rumbling nearby that shook the ground. Sol felt a body slam into her and knock her to the ground. Magna fell on top of her as a boulder rolled over the place she stood moments ago.
"Funglasquent, you saved me." Sol muttered.
Magna smirked. "Yep. That's what a real man does."
Magna offered his hand to Sol, who slapped it away and stood on her own. A small pile of rocks fell from the small hill they camped beside to reveal an entrance to a cave. Sol jerked her head in the direction of the cave.
"Hey, funglasquent. I think we should head there."
Magna shook his head rapidly. "Umm, I don't know. That cave is kinda spooky. What if something tries to eat us?"
Sol smirked. "I thought you were a "real man". Or are you a scared little whimp who can't complete a task even when life opens up a path for him?"
Magna seemed to physically shake off his insecurities. "Y-yeah! I'm a real man! I'll lead the way."
Sol allowed herself to chuckle at Magna's antics as he tried to overcome his nerves and step into the daunting cave.
•~•~•~•
It was odd that they walked for so long without encountering anything. Eventually, the cave got dark enough to where Magna had to create a small flame to be able to see. Magna kept one hand against one side of the cave and Sol kept hers on the other. The cave grew colder the further they walked. There were a few times when Sol and Magna slipped on the smooth stone. The stone sloped gently downward, but as they walked further, the ground sloped more. Eventually, Sol and Magna felt the stone slope closer together until they found an opening in the stone.
Voices floated in from the opening in the stone. Magna and Sol hid on either side of the opening. There was a group of people discussing different subjects while tossing around what appeared to be magic items between each other. Magna slipped into the cavern and ushered Sol to follow him. They eventually found a stack of boxes to hide behind and listened in on the conversation.
"If we take this route, there will be fewer Magic Knights."
"That route may have less Magic Knights, but the Magic Knights that are there are from the Crimson Lion Kings. They're too powerful. My route has more of them, but these guys are from the Aqua Deer. They're much weaker."
"Either way, we have to get these tools across the Grand Magic Zone before the end of the month. The Lords and Lady await us."
"Magic item smugglers," Sol whispered. "Should've known."
Magna clenched his fist. "Damn those bastards."
Magna missed the moment the smugglers fell silent, but he noticed the deafening silence a moment later.
     "Someone's here."
"I sense some weak mana from over there!"
Sol felt her heart leapt into her throat. Grabbing Magna's hand, she pulled him into a crouched position so they'd be ready to run at a moment's notice. Unfortunately, that position wouldn't help Sol avoid the box that got knocked into her head by a blast of magic. Sol didn't feel her body hit the ground, but that was probably due to the adrenaline in her system. She could sense Magna firing off some spells before he slung her over his back and ran. He turned several times to shoot spells at their assailants, but he spent most of his energy into running. Sol felt her limbs grow heavy to the point she couldn't move them anymore. A dull throb came from her head, but Sol was too tired to pay much attention to it. As Magna stopped shooting spells to break out into a sprint, Sol felt the darkness overtake her vision.
•~•~•~•
Sol woke up to the sound of a crackling fire. Her front side was warm due to the fire, but her back was frozen. As she opened her eyes, she spotted Magna poking at a fire in a pit. When Magna spotted Sol moving, he gave her a small smile and wrapped a cloth around her.
"Hey, you feeling ok? I know getting hit in the head by a metal crate is gonna mess with ya a bit, but I hope you're not too messed up."
Sol squinted at Magna. Why was he being nice? In her life, men were never like this. They were all bark and no bite. But Magna was different. He seemed to represent men as they were portrayed in stories. He was very kind and chivalrous.  Sol's mouth didn't seem to catch up with her mind, because she gave Magna a nasty answer that she immediately regretted.
"I'm fine. I could've done fine without you. All you men are worthless. I would recover better without you."
Magna frowned, although this frown was more hurt than anger. "Well, damn. Sorry I tried helping you to make sure you didn't die. Unfortunately, I can't leave you until we finish our mission."
Sol wanted to say something, but she was sure her mouth would betray her, so she said nothing. Magna tossed a fewn more sticks into the fire before sitting back.
"Why do you hate men anyway? It's not as if we choose our genders before we're born, so it's not fair to hate us for something we can't control, ya know?"
Sol wrapped the blanket closer to her. "I...I've never had a single positive experience with any man. When I was little, all the men in my village boasted about everything with nothing to back it up. The boys my age were the same. They treated me like a delicate flower that needed to be protected. When the time came for them to protect my village, they ran away like cowards. I stood my ground and fought, but the attackers overpowered me. Luckily, the Blue Rose Knights showed up in time and Captain Charlotte saved me. Ever since then, all the men I've met or worked with have been the same sad, disappointing losers."
So that's why she's so loyal to her captain and her squad. I'd be the same way if I was in her shoes. "Well, that really sucks. I'm gonna be honest, I was kinda the same way for a portion of my youth, but a great old man whipped me into shape to become the man I am today."
     "Old man?" Sol echoed.
Magna nodded. "Yeah. There's a neighboring village which I used to invade all the time. But each time, the chief of the village gave me a lesson I'd never forget. Unfortunately, I was a little punk that ignored the lessons and did the same stupid things over again. But I learned and grew into a better person."
     "You're not like that anymore..."
Magna removed his sunglasses and glanced up to the sky. Sol was immediately drawn in to his eyes. "I get that you don't like guys like you described, but not all guys are like that. I could give you my squad as an example. My best bud Luck, why he's a battle freak that thinks about nothing else other than fighting. Gauche, he's just creepily obsessed with his sister. He's recently started to warm up to the rest of us. Gordon, he's real quiet and creepy, but he's a real sweet guy that wants the best for everyone. Captain Yami is a manly as they come. He doesn't care about how strong or weak you are, or who you are or where you came from. If you can grow stronger, you're cool in Yami's eyes. And little Asta, or as I like to call him, Rasta. He the manliest of all of us. He fights to protect people without a single thought about himself. I may call myself a man, but lil' Rasta's the real man here. What I'm trying to say is not all guys are bad. As the old saying goes, "Don't judge a book by its cover." Sure, there's always guys out there who are jackasses, but if you get to know us, you'll discover that we're not all that bad."
Magna drew in a deep breath after his little speech. He was right. All Sol had done her whole life was judge men based on how she had experienced them throughout her earlier years. If she could get to know guys, maybe she might find one who's not so bad. Sol ended that train of thought as she glanced over at Magna. He's a short punk with glasses, but he's not so bad. I guess becoming friends with him isn't the worst thing in the world.
