MASTERLIST
- Oh, I forgot to tell you something - you suddenly declared, reaching for a glass of water as you ate dinner. It was Friday afternoon, and you came from work about 2 hours ago, then cooked something nice for you both. You didn't really have any plans today, just wanted to relax in each other's company after a long, full of duties week.
- What is this? - Taemin asked, catching a glimpse of you, but then returned his attention to the plate again. He always ate everything you cooked as if he had been starving for at least two days, which never failed to amuse you. Instead of anger, you considered it as a good compliment though.
- I have to go on a business trip tomorrow. Not a delegation, more like a short training - you knew you were practically dropping a bomb right now. You should have told him earlier, but expecting his reaction... you preferred to admit that as late as possible.
Taemin's eyes shot towards you again, this time gazing hard. - Delegation? - he put down his chopsticks, suddenly forgetting about dinner.
- Training. With my co-workers - you shrugged, leaning hard in your chair. It wasn’t that you were afraid of something, but knew Taemin wouldn’t leave this information with a simple “okay, have a good time”. - Well, you know, from time to time they want to increase our competencies and motivation in the office, so they send us on such trips - you explained carefully. - Two days. I'll be back on Sunday - you assured him with a soft smile.
- Two days? - he groaned quietly, frowning. You could easily see how his mood changed in a second. - Can't you say you're busy? I wanted to take you on a date tomorrow…
- It's mandatory, Taeminnie -  you shrugged, biting your lip. - I'll go quickly and come back quickly, you'll see. You won't even notice I'm gone - you added in hope it would cheer him up at least just a little. But who were you trying to fool?
- Sure -  Taem muttered sadly, looking down for a moment. - Since you're going for two days, where will you sleep? - the next question was asked so quickly.
- In the hotel, I actually need to drive… - you scratched your nape, deep in thought. - Like… 70 kilometers there? They rent a conference room for us, then we’ll have a campfire - you started to eat again.
- Need me to drive you maybe? - his eyes suddenly shone, as he straightened up with this idea.
- Um… - you frowned and reached for his arm to caress it. - Thank you, Taeminnie, but i’ll be fine - you noticed as his shoulders fell down again. Taemin didn't look overly convinced. In fact, you could see his mood turn sour even more. His tone of voice wasn't even accusatory, just blindsided. That's why you pretended that you forgot about that trip, otherwise Tae would have been walking around and sulking so much for a whole month.
- Will your boss be there too? - you choked slightly on the piece of meat, immediately reaching for a glass of water again. Tae wanted to get up, but you quickly showed him with your hand that everything was fine. - What type of question is this? - you asked indignantly as soon as you regained your breath. - Yes, he works with me, so he'll be there. It's normal.
- I wish he weren't there - he hissed through clenched teeth. - Not only do you work for so long, you see him five times a week, but now you go on a business trip with him. You see your boss more than your fiancé, really - Taem whined so miserably, digging into his food.
- Taeminnie, it's only one weekend - you said, trying to comfort him somehow. - And when I come, you'll take me on a date, okay? Or maybe we'll go somewhere next weekend? Hm? You’ll plan something great, I'm sure… - you praised him, but it didn’t seem to work. Taemin only nodded absent-mindedly. - But... it’s not like you’re going to be in the same hotel room, right? - he still enquired, which started to tire you out.
- Of course not, baby - you rolled your eyes. - If someone is going to be in my room, it’ll be a female friend, I promise. Now please eat, I took my time to make a meal for us - you empathized, wanting to end this interrogation for good.
All you could hear was a loud sigh. Was Taemin really 25 years old and not 10? ⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
It was supposed to be a quick packing before watching a movie in a soft, comfortable bed, but Taemin had other plans.
His watchful eyes carefully followed every single thing put into the bag for a few minutes now, fortunately in full silence.
By the time. - Why are you packing such pretty pajamas? - he suddenly pointed out, furrowing his brows.
You glanced at the pink pajamas in your hands. Just a t-shirt and shorts, nothing special. Girly thing to wear at night.
- Normal pajamas, what do you want? - you were similarly outraged.
- Will anyone be there to watch you? You don't sleep in these usually - Taem muttered, getting up and going to the dressing room.
- Well, I usually sleep in your clothes… - you answered under your breath, following him to grab your underwear this time.
- This will be better - he handed out to you his T-shirt and sweatpants. They were equally casual clothes for sleeping, just... a bit embarrassing if any of your co-workers was going to see you. It was immediately obvious that you had stolen it from a man’s wardrobe.
- No thanks, I prefer my own -  you decided,  pulling out your panties.
- Why do you choose such nice underwear? - he asked again, his voice higher than usual.
- Taemin, gosh, I took the first one from the drawer, calm down - you said, already slightly irritated, taking a deep breath when he started looking for something in your panties.
- Take these - he handed you what was probably the most worn out pair.
- Oh, I didn’t notice it, I thought I threw them all away after I bought new ones - you raised your brow, taking them from his hand but only to throw them into the trash. - So, should I just sleep without any, since there’s a problem with my underwear? - you asked, now teasing him.
- What? Of course not, wait… a moment… - he sounded puzzled, and you heard him rummage around again, finally coming up with black, most basic underwear.
- So these panties are approved by Lee Taemin for me to wear on my butt? - you almost chucked, throwing them into your bag. - Okay... I guess that’s all...? - you asked yourself, but then a dirty idea came to your mind. Not joking around with him in this situation was simply a crime. - Oh, no, I forgot… - you turned your attention to him, one hundred percent serious. - Can you lend me some condoms? You know, not all men remember them like you do... - you smiled sweetly.
The way Taemin widened his eyes, looking like he saw a ghost for a split second and his jaw just dropped was worth anything in the world. Unfortunately, he quickly snorted under his breath, sending you a murderous look.  - Very funny, tearing off my sides - Taem hissed, and climbed onto the bed again.
- Well, I should protect myself, right? - you bit the tip of your tongue, obviously satisfied with your teasing.  As a result, a pillow flew towards you, which you didn’t manage to catch.
- I'll get you sick leave soon and you won't go anywhere - he moaned like an offended little boy.
- I don't understand why you're so nervous, tiger - this time you blew him a kiss. - This is integration training and you're acting like I'm going... to cheat on you - you zipped your bag, shrugging your shoulders.
- I would be calmer if there wasn't a person named Choi Minho -  he grumbled, his eyes following you.
- He's my boss, he must be there - you put your bag on the floor and with a wide smile you climbed onto the bed, sitting on his lap. Taemin immediately wrapped his arms around your waist. - And I have a lot of competition there, you don't even know how many of my co-workers chirp - you clasped your hands and placed them next to your cheek. - "Minho-ssi, you're so smart, I couldn't do it without you" - you moved them to the other side. “Minho-ssi, why don't you have lunch with me, you must be hungry” - you added, rolling your eyes.
- Competition? - he seemed even more worried. - So you're trying too? - his eyes, so big and brown, stared at you innocently.
- No, Tae, could you not trip me up on my words?  I don't understand why you've been so mad at him since he came here... Are you angry that he came over for a moment? It won't happen again, if that's a problem for you  - you swore to him with complete sincerity.
- I'm not angry - he swallowed, looking down for a moment. - He's just... he's handsome... and manly... and he's your boss... and he's well-built - he started listing. - So... I'm not surprised if you liked him more than me…
- But you're the one complimenting him - you replied, unimpressed. - Yes, a lot of people look after him, but I already have a fiancé - you hugged him tightly. - Even more handsome... and manly... and he's not just the boss, because he's the co-owner of the studio, and he's well-built too... - you pulled away slightly to lift his shirt and show his tummy. - Definitely well-built - you said flirtatiously, giving him a wink.
Taemin laughed, clearly embarrassed, and slipped the material from your hand, covering himself. - You think so? - he asked quietly, looking into your eyes.
This was one of the moments where you knew there’s no space for teasing anymore. - I know that - you answered, placing a sweet, short kiss on his lips. - I'll be a good fiancée, I promise - you smiled broadly, stroking his hair. ⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
- Oh, did you put in the ring? - Taemin asked out of the blue in the middle of saying goodbye, lifting your hand. Of course, he asked about the engagement ring, which was so damn expensive that you were afraid to walk around with for fear of losing it. Or that someone will cut off your hand along with that. What a great choice.
- Yes, I did - you let out a loud sigh. - Anyone from two meters will see that I'm already taken - you grumbled, staring at him as he was kissing your ring.
- Are you sure you don't want that hickey? - he asked bluntly, staring carefully at your face again.
- Taemin, this isn't elementary school, I'll burn with embarrassment - you answered, removing your hand from his grip.
- Maybe a small one, behind the ear? -Taem asked again, completely undaunted by your reaction. It was like he already sank into his own world, in which any man passing you on the street could be the one snatching you from him.
- This one is doing quite well - you lifted your shirt, showing him the hickey he gave you yesterday on your lower stomach - I don't know who is going to see it, but let it be - you crouched down to put on your shoes.
- It's just in case... in case you forgot... that you have a fiancé - he muttered, and you shook your head. So ridiculous, but you didn’t even have time to discuss it with him.
- Everyone knows you are my fiancé. And now I really have to go - you said, straightening up and trying to take your things. - So… see you tomorrow, right?
- Wait, no goodbye kiss for me? - he grumbled, wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you into a kiss. He was far from sweet and innocent, his lips immediately dominated you, leaving you completely breathless. Soon you were pinned against the wall, fully absorbed into passionate brushing your lips against his. And when he made sure they could kiss only him, he decided to take his time on marking you again.
- I… Taemin… - you tried to say as he was holding your cheek and giving you multiple smooches here and there. - You’re… ruining… my makeup… - you whined, trying to push him from you a little. Like yesterday's intense lovemaking wasn’t enough.
Taem didn’t look concerned by that, his lips continuously pressing to your forehead, nose, cheeks and chin until he finally decided to back away.
You couldn’t help, but immediately glanced over at yourself in the mirror and pursed your lips into straight line as you noticed red patches everywhere on your face due to overflowing affection from your fiancé.
- Baby, drive carefully, okay? And send me a message when you arrive - he asked lovingly, letting you go with visible dissatisfaction.
- Don’t worry, I'll write to you -  you assured in a low voice, taking your things and trying to leave the apartment. You really needed to hurry up to be on time.  - Y/n? - he asked again when you were about to close the door. You run your fingers across your eyelids in slight annoyance. Sometimes you really had to have the patience of a saint for Taem and his lovey-dovey nature. - Yes, Taeminnie? - you replied as calmly as possible, opening them again. Taemin suddenly looked down. It looked like he was thinking intensively for a second before his dark, puppy eyes met with yours again.
- I love you -  he said with a bit of uncertainty, biting his lip. - And… I'll be waiting for you here, okay? - Tae added with a little pout. You felt your heart melted hearing that. You just couldn’t be mad at him, when he acted so adorably and… was just in love with all his heart and soul. - I know, Tae - you smiled warmly. - I love you too. Very, very much - you whispered enough for him to hear. You could see as he smiled so brightly at those words, before you left for good.  ⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
Your training just couldn't be uninterrupted, and you had felt your phone vibrate in your pocket again and again for the last twenty minutes. At first you really tried to ignore it, but soon your thoughts took a different direction as more messages were delivered.
Did something happened? Nobody sends so many texts at once...
You tried to discreetly look around, sensing if a lack of focus for a moment would be noticed. Fortunately, it seemed like nobody paid attention to you, so finally you decided to take out the phone under the table.
And mentally rolled your eyes.
Tumblr media
This time you looked up from your phone and flinched slightly when you saw Minho's sharp gaze as he was sitting across from you. He didn't have to say or show anything, you could immediately sense that you were already in trouble.

- I thought you were going to the studio today - it was the first thing you said, when Taemin answered the phone. He didn’t need more than 3 seconds, to be exact.
- I was in the studio!  - he said indignantly.
- When, since you wrote every half an hour?  - you made fun of him a little, trying to get comfortable on the pillow. One thing you had to admit, Taemin probably spoiled you too much with the mattress in your bedroom, bought because it was especially for desk workers and all the soft pillows.
- I wrote when I had a break, I don’t dance all the time - he groaned quietly. - What I was supposed to do, I’ve done. Are you going to sleep? - he immediately changed the tone of his voice. - How was it anyway? - Tae got so much quieter and calmer, as he sensed you were preparing for sleep.
- Sitting and listening -  you muttered, sighing. - It's not the most entertaining thing in the world, at least on the weekend…
- See, if you just stayed with me...
- Ah, how many times do I have to tell you that it's beyond my control? - you raised your voice a little, already so irritated by his words. - Do you think I want to sit here? - you asked, maybe a little too sharp, then let out a deep breath. - I want to go on a date too... - you admitted quietly, your fingers nibbling on the sheets.
Taemin stayed quiet for a moment before you heard his warm, beaming laugh. - Arasso, arasso - he replied in a warbling tone. - I promise I'll make it up to you, right? As soon as you arrive, okay? Don't be mad... don't be mad... - he purred, while making kissing sounds through the phone that you couldn't help but giggle at. - Better? - he asked and you bit your lip slightly.
- It would be better to feel it - it was already a whisper, since things like that were difficult for you to confess. And Taem knew about it. Still, he seemed a little surprised as he made a little longer pauses before he said anything.
- Tomorrow you’ll get as much as you need, baby - Tae assured lovingly. - I promise, I can kiss you all day, and all night, if you want.
- I’m sure you aren’t lying - you answered, already imagining it. Somehow, you started to feel how the other half of the bed was empty, left only for you.
- I won’t torment you more today - he chuckled gently. - You probably really want to sleep, and I'm just a sticker, so… sleep well - you could hear the sincerity in his tender voice. - You worked hard today, and I’m really proud of you. Like, when did my girl grow up so much? - Taem sighed happily, which gave your tummy a funny feeling. You settled yourself more in the pillow, biting your lip.
- Taem? - you said hesitantly, despite you were repeating it for almost 10 years now.
- Yes, baby?
This time you took a slight pause before speaking again. - I love you - you admitted affectionately, which made him giggle.
- I’m all red now because of you - he whined, but still so amused. - How am I going to sleep now? I think I may love you too - Tae joked, and you rolled your eyes.
- May love? You’ll regret it as soon as I arrive - you snorted under your breath. - Goodnight, Taem.
- Goodnight, my princess. Dream only about me - he answered, but didn’t disconnect. You stayed in the silence for a few seconds more, just listening to his slow, calm breaths before you ended the call with slight regret.
You turned off the bedside light and made yourself comfortable on the pillow before closing your eyes. But immediately you corrected yourself again. This bed really wasn't cosy. And that pillow… was so thin. You reached for the other one and tried to position your head better. This bedding, so scratchy. It was already getting hot, even though you had only been under her for a few minutes. Taemin always asked if you wanted to turn the sheets over when he felt it might be too hot for you. But now you had to do it yourself. Cooler. And still scratchy. And so quiet. It should be fine, you were fed up with all the blabbering for all day, along with Taemin, who was behaving like a preschooler whose favorite toy had been stolen. You laid there for a good hour, with all sorts of thoughts running through your head… Until you finally realized why you couldn't fall asleep. It wasn't the wrong sheets or the uncomfortable bed, it bothered you… that no one bothered you. There was no weird man who, as soon as you got into bed, hugged your back tightly and never let go, there was no talking about total nonsense before going to sleep, and there was no his yawning and calm breathing. You opened your eyes, wondering what to do. Taemin was probably just talking nonsense about how he couldn't fall asleep without you, and now he was probably hugging his pillow, long since drifting off to dreamland. The strong light from your phone illuminated your face, making you moan softly before you dimmed it. You bit your lip lightly as you wrote another message. Just to make sure you were right. You weren't right. Taem answered it in like 2 seconds, just like your call before.
Tumblr media
This was just pointless. You locked your phone and thought about what you were about to do for a little more before turning the light. Then, you quickly left the bed and began to pack your things. ⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
You sighed deeply, finally entering code to your apartment. All the driving in the night made you even more tired and sleepy, so you just dreamed about lying in bed. You turned on the light in the corridor, and your eyes immediately saw Taemin with ruffled hair, looking so surprised. His eyes weren’t sleepy though.
- Are you back? Did you miss me? - he asked, suddenly bright-eyed and bushy tailed.
You decided to take off your shoes, turning your back to him. Seeing him made you feel embarrassed. You simply couldn’t admit you actually felt the same.
- I was cold under the covers - you replied quietly without much emotion. You heard Taemin chuckle at your words before his hands wrapped around your body, lifting you up. You didn't resist him, immediately hugging him so it was easier to carry you to bed.
- I couldn't sleep without you either - he purred smugly, carrying you to the bedroom. Taem helped you undress and soon you were lying on the familiar sheets, with him snuggling into your right side as close as possible. But this wasn’t what you needed today. So, without a word, you turned your back to him.
- Why? - he whined outraged, lifting up a little.
- Shhh, let me sleep - you reprimanded him, taking his hand and pulling it. You intertwined fingers with him and put it next to your cheek, as Taemin finally hugged you with a giggle.
- Oh, you must be missing me a lot, baby - he said, kissing your nape. Fortunately, he was probably so tired that it was the last thing said that night.
You smiled softly, closing your eyes.
Better. Much better. And of course, you missed him a lot.

So what other Spider people has Bendy met besides Hobie, Mayday, Peter B., Miguel, Jessica in the spiderverse society
.... I debated on how to answer this question and a dear friend of mine encouraged my dark side.
So I'm about to rip your hearts out. >:3
Bendy has met other spiders, Like Penny, Spider Noir, Spiderham, etc. He gets along with them just fine.
One though, catches his attention.
See, in another world, Wilson was caught stealing the spider, and was instantly killed before he could get it too Bendy to save him from his illness that was killing him. The spider was lost though, it got away during all the chaos. Eventually, it wandered until it climbed onto someone's hand, and bit him.
It bit Boris in that world.
Scared over getting superpowers so suddenly after being bitten, Boris visited Bendy in the hospital and told him everything. Bendy did his best to assure him he'll be okay, and he's sure he'll figure it out.
Boris: You mean WE'LL figure it out. You and me, together. R-right?
Bendy: ... *smiles sadly at Boris* Yeah. I'll always be with you Boris.
Sadly, without the spider bite, Bendy passes on. Though before he did, he wrote a private letter to Boris, apologizing that he can't be there for him in person, but promises to watch over him always, and that he believes in him to do the right thing with his new powers, because with great power comes great responsibility.
Boris takes that to heart. He uses his powers to help people by becoming Wolf-Spider, though with Bendy gone Boris becomes distant with his friends and loved ones, makes him come off as cold and bitter. The only ones Boris interacts with are Mugman and Cuphead, who, after realizing Boris is a kid and hear his backstory, decided they'd train him to NOT, DIE.
When Spiderdemon Bendy met Wolf-Spider Boris, things were VERY tense. Boris ended up ignoring him at first, kinda angry over how his Bendy died while some OTHER version of him got to keep his older brother. Especially seeing how this Spiderdemon bendy got to grow up, graduate highschool, go to college, fall in love! Everything his Bendy wanted to do but couldn't because his world was cruel!
Eventually, Spiderdemon Bendy gets Wolf-Spider Boris to talk to him. It's a rough conversation, but it does help things between them get better.
Spiderdemon Bendy: Hey, I know I'm not your Bendy, but if there's anything you need, don't hesitate to ask, okay?
Wolf-Spider Boris: .... *swallows a lump in his throat* C-can I have a hug?
Bendy doesn't hesitate and wraps his arms tightly around the other world version of his baby bro, who hugs back just as tight and lets loose a few tears.
Even after Bendy got kicked out, he and Wolf-Spider Boris stay in touch thanks to Hobie. Checking up on each other and telling each other about their day.

Twilight Syndrome Murder Case - Guy C
[Part 1]
Tumblr media
So... given Twilight Syndrome Murder Case was in the game - I am curious of what everyone else else was doing; I know that girl A was Mikan, girl B was Hiyoko, girl C was Ibuki, girl D was Mahiru, girl E was Hatomi and guy F was Fuyuhiko...
Tumblr media
Yeah I... did recall seeing those names pop up but I'm not sure what everyone else was doing at the time but I'll give you my account of what I was doing...
Tumblr media
On July 8th... I did remember talking with Yukio and Kei about Nagito's status after his suicide attempt...
...
...
...
Date: July 8th, 2011
[X]
Tumblr media
Wait hold on are you saying that Nagito is going to leave the hospital?!
Tumblr media
Indeed... seems that after checking his mental health; he was free to go, so I'm going to check him over and sign him out.
Tumblr media
So by July 11th, he should be able to return back to us...
Tumblr media
That's... good to hear, honestly I was worried about him but at least he'll be okay, so what about you Yukio; you going with Byakuya?
Tumblr media
O-Oh uh, actually I sadly can't... you see, me and Peko are going to go on a date tonight...
Tumblr media
Oooh, talk about lucky for you; Mr. Miyahira, you surely got yourself a good catch...
Tumblr media
Hey if you can confirm if her panties are black for me if you do.
Tumblr media
Wh-What?! Hold on a moment, don't think we are going to that stage in the relationship just yet!
Tumblr media
And besides, it's only just one date... I'm not even sure if it's going to work out or not.
Tumblr media
Exactly, Teruteru... let's not tease him as he does seem nervous...
Tumblr media
Right... that is fair...
Tumblr media
Still... have fun, Yukio...
Tumblr media
Thanks, see ya then... *walks away*
Tumblr media
Well... I better head off too, gotta prepare for exams.
Tumblr media
I got a dish in mind and I think the judges are gonna love it!
Tumblr media
Well I'm sure whatever your going to make will impress the judges very well; see you later.
*As Imposter leaves, Teruteru takes his leave too and heads for the cafeteria which he comes across a sight*
Tumblr media
Hey Sayaka, did you... give me this note?
Tumblr media
Huh? A note...? I don't think so... can you let me see it?
Tumblr media
*gives her the piece of paper* It was on my desk and had your name on it so I figure I give it to you to confirm it.
Tumblr media
'Dear Yokoyoko, I want to meet you as the music room after school to talk about something, please come alone. From Sayaka.'
Tumblr media
Whoa, that's... really weird, hey Sayaka you wrote this? It sounds like a crappy love confession.
Tumblr media
Well I surely wouldn't confess like this, I would of written a song about it if I were to confess to someone...
Tumblr media
So no... Sorry Yokoyoko, I didn't write this if asking; sorry if you got confused.
Tumblr media
Nah... it's okay, probably someone wanted to mess with me, I'll just throw it away; honestly this sounded way too weird especially as the music room is being use during the exams. Honestly if they wanted to confess, pick a better spot.
Tumblr media
Hehe, well I hope this helps you - anyway, I'm going to do some exercising in the training room; excuse me.
*Sayaka walks out of the room until Makoto look at Yokoyoko*
Tumblr media
Okay... now that she's gone, is everyone in your class coming to this party or not?
Tumblr media
Yeah, I mean seriously we need to make you all are good to go.

[NHS want NMJ back, feat.WWX (w.i.p)]
Nie Brothers | Mo Dao Zu Shi 13-07-2021
[#niehuaisang #niemingjue , post-canon feat. Wwx]
What if after the event at the temple, nie huaisang as people go and sneakily bring back his brother's body. He finally got it back in one piece (kind of) and he won't let it be caged with the person who killed him. He hates that he has to chain nmj in the secret chamber he has, but it is for his own good and so he doesn't attract people's attention to them.
His second in command is a bit unsure as he looks at the trashing body of the former sect leader. "Nie-zongzhu, are you sure this is the right thing to do?"
Nhs didn't turn to him as he kept watching his brother (or rather the body off). He knew what he probably meant by this question. But nmj was already out of the circle of reincarnation with his present state, What could be worse? Trying the drag back his consciousness would only make it that it was not "necessary" to destroy nmj for being an uncontrollable fierce corps.
He knew it was possible. Wwx did it once with wn while sl still had his too.
"Send the missive to cloud recess" nhs simply said with certainty.
"Do you think he will accept to help?"
"He will" he simply replied, folding shut his fan, "he won't have another choice".
With this nhs turned around, getting out of the chamber, ready to go back to his preparation for his plan. A large part of his plan was finally over.
But it was not over yet and he wouldn't give up now either.
"Wei-gongzi, a missive from qinghe arrived for you" said a disciple as he entered the training ground where he was helping the juniors train.
"From qinghe?" Wwx asked a bit surprised and curious. There was only one person in qinghe he really knew.
He left lsz to train with ljy, taking the letter after thanking the disciple who went back to his other duties. He had a curious smile on his lips as he first started to read, before his face dropped to something a bit more serious, frowning slightly now.
His sudden shift in attitude only made the juniors curious too, wondering what could make the man's mood change so quickly.
"Is everything alright?" Lsz asks a bit worried something might have happened.
"Yes, nothing for you to worry about" wwx smiled, the action looking a bit more forced than it should be. He rolled back the missive, putting it in his robe. "It seems I have some things to do now, you will sadly not have my great expertise to train with," he said, Making ljy eyes roll a bit. Lsz could only watch wwx walk away looking a bit troubled and unsure. He went to warn lwj about it, just so someone could keep an eye on wwx.
Yet, when lwj joined wwx back at the jingshi. But all he could catch was wwx destroying a roll with a fire talisman, frowning a bit as he bit his lip.
"Wei ying" he called out to.
Wwx was surprised a bit, turning with a smile on his lips now, ready to joke before he saw how worried lwj seemed to be. "Is something wrong in qinghe?" He asks.
After all, if sect leader nie needed important help he would most likely have asked the sect. Why asking wwx?
"Nothing too bad, nhs just need my help with something, so I'll be heading to the unclean realm for a while" he explain as he was putting some robes in a qianku bag. "Wei ying".
"I think you should be able to stay here, I might need to stay for a while" "wei ying"
"But like I saif it's nothing dangerous, it's simply that it might take a whi-" "wei ying!".
Wwx finally stopped the flow of words when his husband grabbed his wrist, spinning him around to look at him.
He soften a bit, only now seeing how much lwj seemed to worry. It wasn't as if nhs wanted him gone either (at least he doesn't think he did anything to him to do that).
"Lan zhan, do you trust me?" He asks gently.
"Always"
"Then trust me on this one, it will be alright, Nhs simply need my help for something and after that, I will come back." He assured.
"What does he need you for that gusu cannot do?".
Wwx knew what lwj was implying.
What could wwx do that no other sect could help with?
His demonic cultivation obviously.
Wwx would most likely have little money if it was not for lwj letting him spend as much as he wants.
He had no important connection as wwx didn't touch any of the present relations between sects.
He didn't have a sect to send people for help.
He wouldn't be good for doing relationships with other sects.
And mxy body and golden core were still not as strong as what the original wwx had.
So of course it had to be demonic cultivation.
Wwx smiled slightly to him, caressing his cheek with his free hand in what he hoped would be soothing.
"He needs help with... nmj" he finally admitted, wincing a bit at the grip getting stronger around his wrist, as if to make sure he wouldn't suddenly run away.
"It will be bad for you" lwj then said, releasing the pressure a bit after seeing him wince.
He had already convinced wwx to use demonic cultivation less and cultivate more properly like he did in the past (but how does one switch so easily when in their memory they have gone by with DC for many years already?)
Wwx sighed at that, his hand gently going above the one holding him. "He's not asking me to raise and control an army of fierce corps, he just wants me to do what I did with wn" he precise. And honestly, he wasn't sure anymore how he had actually managed to bring back wn. His time on burial mounds was a bit muddy in his mind.
"Then let me come with you" lwj asked.
Wwx wanted to refuse saying it would be alright, but then he felt like lwj would either come join him if it ended up taking too much time or would just follow him.
He sighed again, thinking it over.
Maybe lwj could help too. Sure he wasn't doing any demonic cultivation, but he would probably still find ways to help him. Plus he could help wash away the effect that would surely stay from using demonic cultivation.
"Okay, you can come with me"
------
"Nie-zongzhu" wwx saluted when he finally joined the man, the SIC joining back his sect leader.
"Wei-gongzi," he saluted before his eyes travelled to behind wwx, "Hanguang-jun... gui jiangjun" he trailed a bit.
"Nie-zongzhu" politely replied the two men.
He was not surprised by the former presence, but had not necessarily expected for the latter to also be here. "I hope the travel was not too hard" he smiled.
"Everything went well" smiled wwx, before following nhs gaze behind him, "I hope it is not a bother to bring some help, They both insisted on coming along" he added. The missive never said to come alone, but he still made sure to bring as little as possible (ljy and lsz did want to come along too).
"No problem, it is understandable that wei-gongzi might need help" smiled back nhs. Of course, lwj had asked to come, he could also be of good help too. After all, it wasn't really good if wwx lost it again.
Wn asked to come after he (accidentally!) Overheard them talking about it. He had fought against nmj and wanted to make sure nothing would happen to wwx.
After all, lwj could just attack him with bichen and hurt the fierce corps if the whole point was to bring him back. He was there simply to be a more even match against him just in case.

To celebrate finishing Moondrop, it is now time for me to talk about other AUs that I hope to eventually get to. I've got too many other things right now. Well, I'll just be talking about the ones I haven't talked about here. But a quick honorable mention to the Frankenstein and Ice King AUs.
Anyway...
Jane Eyre AU - In which Inko is Jane, AFO is Mr. Rochester, and Garaki is Bertha. (Jane Eyre is my favorite 1800s novel)
Actually, this one isn't serious, just a joke for the Ides of March that I forgot to put on here, but AU where the vestiges are senators and AFO is a dictator. Then they all team up to stab him to death, including Yoichi. AFOs last words are "Et tu, Yoichi?"
AU where All Might could see the vestiges. But they're getting sick of him not taking care of himself (though he is a bit better about it due to being able to speak to Nana) and try to think of a way to help him somehow (especially Yoichi and Nana because they feel the guiltiest about what happened). So, when a chance to help him get a date comes up, you bet they take it. Sadly, much like in Ghastly Advice their dating advice is terrible and shenanigans ensue.
Pokémon AU - I stayed up all night trying to world build and I still haven't gotten all their teams yet, but here's what I do have.
Yoichi manages to catch an Eevee that just couldn't seem to evolve while AFO got (I haven't thought of a Pokémon for him yet) and both Yoichi and his eevee got vaulted. Then sometime after being rescued it evolves into a Sylveon. But after he dies, it mysteriously goes back to being an Eevee. Second takes care of it, and it somehow evolves into a Flareon without the use of a fire stone. He and Third run some tests and (I haven't figured out why the Eevee is so weird yet. Or a name for it. Maybe One For All?). Anyway, the eevee is passed down and evolves into a differently every time then goes back to being and eevee. Third gets a Vapereon, Hikage a Leafeon, Banjo a Jolteon, En an Umbreon, Nana a Glaceon, and Toshinori an Espeon.
Anyway, there aren't quirks, it's just a universe with Pokémon. All Might's Espeon has gone mysteriously missing after a fight with AFO. At the same time, 9-year-old Deku would find an Eevee that just couldn't seem to evolve (which what sets off the bullying in this AU). He meets All Might (who is the Pokémon champion in Japan) and they train for 10 months so he can get into UA. In this AU, you have to go to a Pokémon school if you want a Pokémon-specific job. Izuku and Katsuki both want to be the next champion, but not everyone at UA does. For instance, Ochako wants a Pokémon license so she can get a team of Pokémon to help her parents construction company.
You can only have 3 Pokémon max. Your own starter and one from each parent. Any more require a Pokémon license or you have to go through a long government process to explain why you should have the Pokémon. If you don’t have a license, you may not use them for commercial purposes (so like, helping you at your job, or non-paid battling). Basically, they're kind of like pets that can help you with unpaid labor. Pokémon trainer is a profession where you get paid for battling, by having to give money to the winner. So, poor people rarely choose this job.

Fire and Ice - Chapter 17
Chapter 16 || Index || Chapter 18
It had been nearly a half-moon since the fox was first scented in Thunderclan territory. Despite the best efforts of the Clan's top trackers, they had yet to catch the wily creature, the red-furred predator always two steps ahead of those that would drive it off.
Subsequently, the apprentices had been cooped up, eagerly awaiting the news that they'd be released from the confines of the training hollow. Even dawn patrols had become something of a luxury, the chance to get out on the territory outweighing the exhausting time. And as the moon waxed, they had been getting more and more restless for the arrival of the long-promised hunting competition.
By the evening of the Gathering, the tension among the apprentices hung over them like a dark cloud. Even Firepaw was feeling anxious, his pelt crawling as though a hive of ants had descended upon him. And when the last fox-hunting patrol turned up empty-pawed…
"This isn't fair!" Cinderpaw snarled, slashing at the tree stump beside their den angrily. The bark crumpled beneath her claws. "We're all seven moons by now! We don't need to be babysat by a bunch of warriors because of one fleabitten fox!"
Firepaw winced, but he didn't have any way to dispute her feelings when he shared them himself. "What do you think happens now? The Gathering's tonight, after all."
Cinderpaw said nothing, focused on grinding up the bark beneath her claws. After a painfully long moment of silence, it was Graypaw that spoke up. "Maybe we'll all get to go?" He suggested hopefully.
"I'm afraid not." They all looked up to see Tinyfrost approaching. Over the past half-moon, he had kept his word as best he could, and the new apprentice was finally beginning to relax around him. But his words now only made Firepaw's pelt crawl. "I just talked with Bluestar and the other mentors. It's been decided none of the apprentices will get to go."
"They what?" Cinderpaw growled as she turned to Tinyfrost, a snarl on her face. "Why can't we go? Except for Ravenpaw, none of us have been to one!"
The warrior shook his head sadly. "I'm sorry. Bluestar didn't want to bring too many apprentices, with the fox still on the territory, and Quickflash didn't want to look like he was playing favorites with his kits." He sighed sadly as he glanced across the clearing to where the leader and deputy were talking. "I just wanted to tell you all, so the announcement wouldn't come as a shock."
"What about Firepaw? Or Ravenpaw?" Graypaw challenged the mentor. "They're not one of us! They could go and then the four of us would get to stay behind so Dad doesn't have to choose."
Tinyfrost shook his head. "They didn't want to bring an inexperienced apprentice. Their words, not mine." He added, giving the tom a sympathetic glance. "And Spottedleaf didn't want Ravenpaw to journey that far. It wasn't my choice, I promise. If it were up to me, they both would have gone."
Firepaw swallowed, his throat suddenly parched. "I believe you." He admitted slowly. "It's just, first the confinement, then the competition, and now this…"
"I know. I know." His mentor dipped his head mournfully. "I'll see that you get to go next time. I promise." With one last glance, he departed, leaving the apprentices stunned in the wake of his announcement.
"Foxdung to all of this." Cinderpaw suddenly spat from beside the tree. "If Dad doesn't want us to go to the Gathering, then there's no point in staying up. I'll see you all for 'training' in the morning." With that, she disappeared into the ferns of their den.
They sat in silence before Dewpaw stood up. "I should go after her." The molly said aloud, quickly following her sister into the den.
Firepaw glanced at the others as she departed, looking for any sort of explanation. "I know it doesn't seem like it now, but Dewpaw's always been Cinderpaw's favorite." Pepperpaw sighed as she watched the leafy entrance of the den. "Whenever Cinderpaw was in trouble, it was always Dewpaw that helped her out of it."
His ears perked in surprise at that. "Really? I wouldn't have guessed." The few times he'd seen them interact, she'd always seemed to be picking on her sister. "If she's Cinderpaw's favorite, why does Cinderpaw tease her so much?"
Pepperpaw shrugged. "I think it's how she shows affection." At Firepaw's dismissive snort, she shook her head. "No, really! I know it seems weird, but that's just… how she is."
"It's true. Cinderpaw's always been weird." Graypaw stretched out with a heavy sigh, the fur along his back still slightly raised. "Look, Bluestar's approaching the rock. We might as well see who's going, even if it isn't us."
He didn't need to look to picture the silver molly leaping gracefully up to the tip of the Highrock. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting!" The Thunderclan leader called out, and Firepaw diligently obeyed, even though it felt as though there were weights in his paws as he did so.
"Even as the full moon begins to rise, Thunderclan still is under siege within its own territory." The leader's blue eyes reflected the moonlight as she gazed down at her loyal warriors. "As you all know, a fox continues to run rampant in our territory. For this reason, I have decided that our queens and apprentices will stay behind tonight."
Firepaw glanced over to the queens, who didn't seem surprised or upset with the announcement. Perhaps it had been their decision to stay behind. On the other paw, the elders seemed delighted by the announcement. After being forced to stay home the moon before, he supposed they were glad to be able to go to this Gathering.
Bluestar allowed for a moment of murmuring before continuing. "The warriors that will accompany me to tonight's Gathering will be Patchpelt, Whitestorm, Lionheart, Tigerclaw, Willowbranch, Mistspring and Sandstorm, along with any elders that wish to make the journey."
The called warriors eagerly stood up, clearly excited to leave. Firepaw couldn't help but feel bitter at seeing their excitement. He could be joining them too, if they had done a better job and found the fox by now. But he knew that wasn't fair to them; every warrior in the Clan did their best.
"Clan dismissed." With that, she swiftly jumped off the rock towards the camp entrance. The warriors followed her, alongside Quickflash, Spottedleaf, and all the elders. He turned away, envy welling up within him despite his best efforts.
He startled slightly as Pepperpaw brushed up beside him as they walked back to the apprentice den. "It's okay to be upset, you know." She murmured gently to him. "We spent all this time hyping up the Gathering for you, and now none of us get to go."
Firepaw hesitated at that. "I'm just tired of being cooped up all the time. I guess I should be used to it, but if I'm honest…" He paused, not sure if he should say what he was thinking aloud. "Honestly, some days it's not much better than being a kittypet."
She was silent for several long, painful moments. Just as he was pulling away, afraid to look at her, she finally responded. "I can see that. Twolegs only let their kittypets into their den and their little marked territories, right? If camp is like a den and the hollow is like those territories…"
"Twolegs call them gardens. And yes." Firepaw looked to see she was looking at him with a mixture of sympathy and something else, and he was instantly grateful that she wasn't scolding him outright like he was sure many warriors would. "I mean, we're still out in the wild and we get to eat real prey, but…"
"You can't help how you feel. What matters is what you do with those feelings." Firepaw blinked in surprise at her words. "Mom told me that when I was little and mad at Cinderpaw for something, I don't remember what. But it's true, isn't it?" She nuzzled his shoulder one more time before sitting down. "You've been doing your best not to act on those feelings. I can tell. So in my opinion, you're doing okay."
"What are you two talking about?" Graypaw finally joined their conversation alongside Ravenpaw. It seemed the two had been watching the Gathering party leave. "Are you worried about how you've been doing in the Clan? I wouldn't be. Tinyfrost seems really pleased with you these days."
Firepaw had to smile a little at his friend as the gray tom plopped down beside him. "Something like that." He replied. "It's hard to tell sometimes, with him. And with everything that's been happening, I just wish I could really prove myself."
The other tom nodded solemnly. "I know what you mean. With the fox and everything, we haven't had the chance to get out much, and-" He cut off suddenly, eyes gleaming in the moonlight. "Say, now there's an idea."
The ginger apprentice tilted his head at the sudden change of direction. "What's an idea?" He asked cluelessly.
"We need a way to prove ourselves, right? And none of the warriors have actually caught the fox yet, so what if…" He paused for dramatic effect, "What if we caught the fox for them? We'd be heroes!"
"That is possibly the most mousebrained idea I have ever heard." Pepperpaw was the first to cut into the stunned silence. "We've barely had any battle training, except for Ravenpaw. None of us have ever seen a fox, let alone know how to hunt one. And even if we did, we'd technically be breaking the warrior code by going against the leader's will."
Graypaw deflated slightly. "Okay, but, if we pulled it off…"
"That's a pretty big if." Firepaw observed. "I have to agree with Pepperpaw. Even with all six of us, I don't think we could outmatch a fox."
"You can definitely count me out." Ravenpaw spoke up from the tree stump. "If I got caught sneaking out…" He paused for a moment, as though the words were too heavy to speak. "Father wouldn't be happy with me."
"Fine, fine. I can see I'm outnumbered." Graypaw huffed, looking away with a pout. "It was a great idea, though."
"Mhmm." His sister gave him an amused glance. "Why don't you go get some rest? Maybe you can cook up more great ideas in your dreams."
Graypaw spat crossly back at her. "I will, but only because I want to, not because you told me to." He nudged his friend with a shoulder. "Don't stay out here too late, you hear me? You wouldn't want my sister to turn you into a stick in the mud like her."
"You mean a sensible, smart feline like her?" Pepperpaw called softly after him, but his only response was a dismissive lash of his tail as he disappeared into the depths beneath the ferns. "And so there were three."
"Are you going to join your siblings?" Firepaw asked curiously. "I wouldn't blame you. It's getting pretty late."
Pepperpaw shook her head as she laid down, enjoying her space now that her littermates were gone. "I'm gonna stay up and wait for the Gathering patrol to return. I had to miss it last time, but I'm not on the dawn patrol this time, so I might as well." She sighed almost wistfully. "It's too bad the others won't be here with me. It'd be just like old times."
Firepaw grinned at her. "I'll stay up with you too, how's that? It won't be quite the same, but I like to think I'm good company."
She purred in response. "I wouldn't mind that at all. Thank you, Firepaw." She glanced to the last of the apprentices curiously. "What about you, Ravenpaw? Are you planning on staying up as well?"
The black tom, who had been staring off into the distance, suddenly startled at his name. "I- Uh-" He paused, regaining his composure. "I don't really feel like sleeping. I think I'll just stay out and… uh… watch the stars."
"That's a lovely idea. Much better than Graypaw's fox scheme." Pepperpaw purred, tilting her head up skyward. "What do you think, Firepaw?"
He hesitated for a moment. He knew that to the Clans, the stars meant a great deal more than they ever had to him. And yet, he supposed, it didn't matter if he wasn't looking at the sky in the same way they were, did it? "Yea. I've always enjoyed the night sky." He told her, laying down and tilting his own head back to observe the stars beginning to twinkle overhead.
He had no idea how much time had passed when Pepperpaw suddenly startled next to him. "Do you see that?" She asked him in a rushed whisper.
"See what?" He asked, scanning the now brilliant sky for some anomaly.
"The moon." His eyes moved to the bright orb in the sky, a single cloud drifting across it. "There's a cloud covering it."
Firepaw hesitated, unsure if she was messing with him or not. "So?"
She was silent for a moment, and he had just looked to her in time to see her release an anxious sigh. "I keep forgetting you're not Clanborn. A cloud covering the moon is a warning from Starclan that danger is near. Especially on a Gathering night."
He blinked in surprise at her. "Really? It could just be a coincidence." He hadn't realized they were superstitious about clouds, of all things. What did they do when it rained at night?
She shook her head. "It's not a coincidence. If Spottedleaf was here, she'd tell you the same thing." Her nose crinkled in worry. "Something must have happened at the Gathering."
Firepaw hesitated. "Should we do something about it?" Not that he knew what they could do about it. If anything happened at the Gathering, what could they do about it back at camp?
Pepperpaw shook her head. "No, I-"
"HELP! SOMEBODY, HELP!"
All three of them were immediately on their feet at the shriek of fear echoing through camp. "Who was that?" He asked, unable to quite place the voice. It wasn't Tinyfrost, or any of the apprentices.
"Speckleflight! In the nursery!" Pepperpaw was already charging across the clearing, Firepaw just behind her.
The first to make it to the nursery entrance was Pepperpaw's mentor Dappleshine, the tortoiseshell's fur puffed as far is it could go as she barged into the nursery with no hesitation. Her apprentice quickly followed, with the orange tom right on her heels.
He scanned the large den. In front of him were two thoroughly bushed felines, one bright gold and one pure white; he recognized them immediately as Goldenflower and Frostfur. Behind them was a dappled queen he recognized quickly as Speckleflight, curled protectively over a very large nest. And in front of them…
He took in the long, pale, thin snout of a canine cautiously poking its way into a hole in the nursery. Black paws scratched against the brambles, making the hole wider. And the rest of the creature was a bright red color he knew he'd seen somewhere before.
This was the fox that the warriors had been searching for, right in their own nursery.
He copied the other queens, allowing his fur to bristle and tail to lash as he slowly formed a barrier beside them, a growl emanating from deep within him.
The fox took one step into the nursery before catching sight of the wall of hissing, spitting cats in front of it. He didn't know fox very well, but even he could read the expression on its face; something very similar to 'Oh, foxdung'. Or perhaps, 'Oh, catdung'.
The two sides squared off as the moments trickled by. He could see the fox eyeing the prize behind them, and for a moment he worried that it might somehow get past them anyways. Then Dappleshine lashed out, claws less than a whisker-length from its nose, and it decided that the smart thing to do would be to turn tail and run.
It was with great satisfaction that he watched the white tail tip disappearing into the night. Perhaps the fox had thought that a lone queen and kit were easy prey, but instead it had bit off far more than it could chew and summoned half the Clan to defend Speckleflight and Snowkit.
"Oh, Speckleflight! Are you two alright?" Dappleshine was the first to break the silence, rushing over to nuzzle the nursing queen. He remembered belatedly that she was also Speckleflight's mate, and Snowkit's mother. "Did it hurt you?"
"I think Snowkit is fine, and I am too." The pale golden queen moved aside to reveal a tiny fluffy cloud beneath her. It took Firepaw a moment to find the bright blue eyes within the white cloud to realize it was actually a kit, and not some stray cotton. "When I heard the fox scratching at the walls, I immediately called for you…" She looked up at what was surely half the Clan gratefully. "Thank you, all of you."
"I'm just glad you're okay." Dappleshine purred, her fur beginning to flatten as she began licking their kit's fur. "I don't know what I'd do if it got to you…"
"Not as long as I'm around." Frostfur spat, blue eyes ablaze as she looked over her shoulder to the empty hole created by the fox. "A whole horde of foxes wouldn't be enough to get through me!"
"Of course not, Frostfur." Speckleflight purred as she looked down at Snowkit. "It's okay now, sweetie, the fox is gone…"
Firepaw caught the big eyes of the kit as it stared at him and the others, and he realized with a jolt this was the first time that the kit had seen him. "Maybe he's scared of us." Firepaw joked, looking over to Pepperpaw beside him, whose spine still bristled angrily. "This is only the first or second time he's seen most of us, right?"
Pepperpaw's own eyes widened at his words. "Of course! We should get out and let him calm down." She looked over Speckleflight and Dappleshine, her eyes softening at the two queens. "We'll be right outside if it comes back."
"Of course. Thank you, Pepperpaw." Dappleshine purred to her apprentice, her own face awash with gratefulness. "I'll be with you all in a little."
With that, Firepaw filed out of the narrow nursery entrance, right alongside several familiar faces; Mousefur, Longtail, and Tinyfrost had evidently come to the queens' aid as well.
"A fox in the nursery! What next?" Mousefur was the first to speak. "Shadowclan taking Snakerocks?"
Firepaw stayed quiet as Longtail spoke up. "And during the Gathering, no less, when we were at our weakest. Do you think it knew?"
Tinyfrost shook his head. "How could a fox possibly know that? If it did, it would have also known that the apprentices and half the warriors were still here." He glanced over to the three apprentices that had responded to Speckleflight's call. "Speaking of, you all performed admirably. Just as a warrior should. Your father will be pleased with your bravery, Ravenpaw."
The oldest apprentice shrank under the warrior's words. "Just doing my duty, Tinyfrost." He managed to squeak out.
Tinyfrost's eyes narrowed for a moment before he turned back to the other two warriors. "We're going to need that hole patched before the fox comes back to take advantage of it. Can one of you take the apprentices to gather bramble? Longtail?"
Longtail stiffened. "But what about the fox? We should send a patrol after it! Now might finally be the time to catch it once and for all!"
Tinyfrost hesitated before shaking his head. "We can't risk it. What if it loops around and attacks again? We'll need at least two warriors guarding the hole, and with a warrior protecting the apprentices, that won't possibly leave us with enough cats for a fox-hunting patrol."
The striped tom snarled out at the bramble barrier to camp. "That fox has the worst timing." He growled bitterly.
"Thank you all again." Dappleshine emerged from the nursery, nosing her apprentice as she joined the conversation. "Frostfur and Goldenflower will be guarding the nursery entrance until it can get repaired."
Tinyfrost dipped his head to the queen. "That's good to hear. Maybe you should be the one to take the apprentices out to gather new building materials, so we can repair the walls and strengthen them at the same time."
"Of course. I'd be glad to." Dappleshine looked to Firepaw, Pepperpaw, and Ravenpaw, her eyes still full of worry, before turning back to Tinyfrost. "What will you be doing?"
Tinyfrost hesitated. "Well, if Frostfur and Goldenflower are guarding the nursery, then I suppose-"
"What's going on here?"
Bluestar's voice echoed across camp, and the assembled cats turned to see her striding from the camp entrance towards them, the rest of the Gathering patrol behind her. Both groups stared at each other in surprise, not expecting to see the other at precisely that moment.
"Bluestar! Thank Starclan you're back." Tinyfrost was the first to speak. "A fox broke into the nursery while you were gone. We managed to drive it off, but we didn't have enough warriors to send out a hunting party."
"A fox?" Spottedleaf stepped forward, white patches of fur shimmering in the moonlight. "Was anyone hurt?"
"No, thankfully." Dappleshine answered her sister, stepping forward to greet her. "But you should check on Snowkit and Speckleflight, just in case. Snowkit was very rattled from the whole thing."
"Of course." Spottedleaf agreed, slipping towards the nursery. "If that's alright…?" She hesitated, glancing at Bluestar.
The leader waved a paw dismissively at her healer. "Yes, yes." She stepped forward, blue eyes on Tinyfrost. "When did this happen? Do you think we might still have time to go after it?"
Tinyfrost hesitated. "It's gotten a good head start by now. And with how clever it's been, avoiding trackers in the past…"
Bluestar considered his words. "That might be true, but we still have a good lead. We shouldn't waste it." She looked over the assembled cats. "Mousefur, Tigerclaw, Quickflash, and Mistspring. See if you can track it down."
"Yes, Bluestar." Quickflash stepped forward, and Tigerclaw and Mistspring were close behind him. "Mousefur, you should take the lead. You saw the fox; you should have a good handle on its scent."
"Of course, Quickflash." Mousefur flicked her tail for the patrol to follow her, and they quickly vanished into the nursery, leaving the rest of the Clan behind them.
Bluestar turned back to Firepaw's mentor. "Now then. We'll focus on rebuilding efforts in the morning, when they get back. For now, I want two warriors posted at the hole, in addition to the two warriors already on vigil."
Tinyfrost hesitated. "Goldenflower and Frostfur have already taken posts outside. Unless you want them relieved?"
Bluestar considered the question for a moment, then nodded. "I know Frostfur may not appreciate it, but I'd rather the queens be the last line of defense, rather than the first. Longtail, why don't you and Darkstripe go take over?" She glanced to the black-striped warrior, who nodded and hurried off to find the other dark tom.
"Why are you all back so early? Did something happen at the Gathering?" Dappleshine glanced up to the moon, which had not quite reached its zenith yet. "It's not even moonhigh yet."
Bluestar dipped her head, but it was Patchpelt who was the first to speak. "Brokenstar and Tallstar got into a fight."
"What?" The cats that had remained behind bristled in shock at the older warrior's words.
"Oh, don't be so dramatic." One-eye yawned, pushing her way past the burly warrior. "They had an argument over territory, and Brokenstar tried to attack Tallstar, but Crookedstar stopped him. There wasn't even any blood." The elder flicked her tail dismissively. "Shadowclan was just being a bully, like usual."
"It sounds like it was a bit more than that." Dappleshine observed with an incredulous look. "Did Starclan do anything about it?"
"They sent a cloud to cover the moon." Bluestar dipped her head as she spoke. "That was when the Gathering ended. We returned as swiftly as we could."
"It's good that you did. Perhaps now we'll drive off the fox once and for all." Dappleshine looked to the three apprentices, who had been merely observing the conversation so far. "These three were the first to defend the nursery when Speckleflight called for help. They performed admirably in the face of danger."
Bluestar nodded and dipped her head to each of them. "It is good to hear Thunderclan has such brave apprentices. I'm sure your mentors will be more than pleased to hear it."
Firepaw glowed with pride at the leader's words. Even despite the tumultuous events, it seemed everything was finally going better. And if the patrol managed to drive off the fox that very night…
"For now, you three should get some sleep." Tinyfrost's voice broke through his reverie. "You'll need all your energy for repairing the camp tomorrow. It's been a while since we reinforced the perimeter with bramble, anyhow."
Firepaw groaned internally at that, but nodded. "Yes, Tinyfrost." He stood up, beginning to pad towards the apprentices' den.
"You may also want to tell your denmates that perhaps we will be having a hunting competition after all, with how you three did against the fox." Tinyfrost called after him. It took a moment for the words to sink in, but when they did, he felt a thrill of energy surge through him. By the looks of the other apprentices' faces, they felt the same way.
"First one to the den gets to tell them?" Firepaw suggested with a grin to the other two.
Pepperpaw smirked. "You're on!" With no warning, she bolted ahead of the other two.
"Hey! No fair!" Firepaw called, chasing after her while a purr rumbled up in his throat. For the first time in a half-moon, he felt like things were finally beginning to look up. Maybe, just maybe, everything was beginning to look up after all.

Thomas and Friends: Sodor Online Journeys (Story 4): Thomas and Gordon/Thomas Gets Distracted
Thomas is a tank engine who lives in the big station on The Island of Sodor. He's a cheeky little engine with six small wheels, a short stumpy funnel, a short stumpy boiler, and a short stumpy dome. He's a fussy little engine too, always pulling coaches about, readying for the big engines to take out on long journeys. When the trains come in, he would pull the empty coaches away so that the big engines can go and rest. Thomas thinks no engine works hard as he does. He likes to play tricks on the other engines, especially Gordon (the biggest and proudest engine of all). Thomas likes whistling rudely at him/to tease Gordon with his whistle. "Wake up lazybones! Why don't you work hard like me!?"
One day after pulling the express, Gordon arrived back in the sidings very tired.
He was about to go to sleep when Thomas came up in his cheeky way. "Wake up lazybones! Do some hard work for a change! You can't catch me!" And off he/Thomas ran laughing. Instead of going to sleep again, Gordon thought how he could pay Thomas out./Gordon thought how he could get back at Thomas.
One morning, Thomas wouldn't wake up. His driver and fireman couldn't make him start. His fire went out, and there wasn't enough steam. It was nearly time for the Express. The people were waiting, but the coaches weren't ready. At last, Thomas started. "Oh dear, oh dear!" he yawned. "I need to get ready." "Come on." said the coaches. "Hurry up!" Thomas gave them a rude bump, and started for the station. "Don't stop dawdling! Don't stop dawdling!" grumbled Thomas. "Where have you been? Where have you been?" asked the Coaches crossly.
Thomas fussed into the station where Gordon was waiting. "Hurry up you!" said Gordon. "Hurry up yourself!" replied Thomas. Gordon the proud engine began making his plan to teach Thomas a lesson for teasing him. "Yes." said Gordon "I will." And almost before the Coaches had stopped moving, Gordon came out of his siding, and was coupled to the train. "Get in quickly please!" he whistled. So the passengers got in quickly. Now Thomas usually push behind the big trains to help them start, but he was always uncoupled first. This time, Gordon started off so quickly that there wasn't time to uncouple Thomas! Gordon's chance had come. "Wait, Gordon!" shouted the Vicarstown Stationmaster. "Thomas is coupled on!" "Stop, Gordon!" called Thomas. "I'm still coupled on!" "Come on! Come on!" puffed Gordon to the Coaches. "Keep it up!"
The train went faster and faster. Too fast for Thomas that he wanted to stop, but he couldn't. "Peep! Peep! Stop! Stop!" "Hurry! Hurry! Hurry!" laughed Gordon. "You can't get away! You can't get away!" laughed the Coaches.
Poor Thomas was going faster than he had ever gone before, he was out of breath, and his wheels hurt him, but he had to go on. "I wish I'll never be the same again!" he thought sadly. "My wheels will be quite worn out!"
At last, they stopped at a station. Thomas was uncoupled, and he felt very silly, and exhausted. Next, Thomas went onto a turntable thinking of everyone laughing at him. And then, he rolled into a siding out of the way. "Well little Thomas!" chuckled Gordon, as he puffed away. "Now you know what hard work feels like. Don't you?" Poor Thomas didn't answer, but he went away to rest, and had a long, long, drink.
He went home very slowly, and was careful afterwards never to be cheeky to Gordon again./"Maybe I don't have to tease Gordon to feel important." Thomas thought to himself. And he puffed slowly home, and was careful afterwards never to be cheeky to Gordon again.

Might just be love
Albedo x Reader
Inspired by 'despair.' by Leo
Warnings: Slight intoxication and mentions of alcohol in the tavern
Can you tell I love Albedo?
Tumblr media
Albedo isn't a romantic.
Well, that's what he tells himself, watching you warm your hands on the campfire in his lab.
His heart skips a beat when you turn your head to look at him, hands still warming.
Oh how he would love to pull you into his chest, intertwine your hands with his and place a small kiss on your knuckles.
Would your skin be cold against his warm lips? Albedo would bet his mora that your hands would be soft and fit perfectly against his.
It's not romantic, it's purely for... science. All of it has a scientific reason, there has to be a logical reason why the blood rushes to his ears and cheeks when you lean over to see what he's drawing.
And he's pulling the notebook to his chest and flipping the page because, well, how do you explain to the cute traveler that stops by your lab every time they come to Dragonspine, that you've been drawing them to keep him company when Sucrose is in the city?
No, Albedo isn't a romantic, nor is he in love in any way.
There's a reason he thinks of you day to day, and how your smile keeps him up at night, smiling like he's gone mad.
"What, " Albedo pauses, leaning against the workbench, head propped up on his palm, elbow barely feeling the wood dig into his skin "what do you think of Y/n Sucrose?"
Sucrose just smiles as she follows where his eyes are trained.
"I think that they're very nice, and perhaps might like you more than you realize."
Albedo's nose scrunches as he notices a mistake in Sucrose's notes, his lithe fingers point to the mistake on the paper, "You wrote pyro instead of cyro slimes."
Sucrose just makes a noise in embarrassment as she moves to get a new piece of paper, copying down everything in ink onto the fresh sheet.
Albedo's pride will keep him from admitting to himself, or to anyone for that matter, that he's falling in love.
It's only months later that the conversation with Sucrose floats back up to the front of his brain, as he sits at the bar at the Angels Share, having come to the city to pick up more materials and take a much needed break.
The dim lights and the warm feeling of wine in his system must have a scientific effect on him, because he can't seem to keep his eyes off of you chatting with Kaeya at a table.
"You should tell them."
Diluc dosent stop wiping down the bar, picking up the bits of wine spilled by drunk bards and customers.
"Tell them what? That my head feels like it's filled with cotton when they lean in too close because they always smell amazing? Or that sometimes I stare too much and forget to breathe?"
Albedo's babbling, the wine clearly getting to him, he's always been a lightweight.
One of the many bards in the tavern begin to play a song, slow and drunk, almost a sea shanty, but Albedo couldn't be bothered to watch, not when your lips press against the glass in such a way that he wishes they would press against his.
"I'm not a romantic Diluc." Albedo's smiling sadly as he finally tears his eyes away from you, looking into his half empty pint.
Diluc dosent answer, used to the drunken rambles and venting of customers. He isn't getting paid to give advice, only to listen and serve drinks.
"I'm always away, and " Albedo scowls as he looks at his hands, small scars from burns and other experiments littering them "they would never want to hold my hands. Besides, I don't love them."
His eyes wander back to yours, and he catches your eyes, smiling as you wave and sending a cautious one in return.
Albedo dosent notice as the bards change genres into something more upbeat, and how you make your way through the gathering crowd of people to him.
"Albedo, come dance."
Your hand slips into his as you tug him to the makeshift dance area. A blush makes it's way over Albedo's ears, neck, cheeks, and even his knuckles turn slightly pink as if he were back in Dragonspine.
His hands fit nicely with yours, and, he rather likes being this close with you. Where he can get even more intoxicated on the smell of your soap, and the way your breath fans on his lips as you get close.
"I'm not much of a romantic." Albedo blurts out, hands tightening their hold on yours as if you would choose now to run away.
"I know." Your voice is low but Albedo is pleasantly surprised when he doesn't have to strain to hear you.
"I'm always away, and I focus on my experiments more than I'll focus on you."
Albedo's pulse quickens as you lean in impossibly closer, a hairs width in between your lips.
"I know." It's whispered before someone behind Albedo nudges him forward, his lips landing gently on yours.
The butterflies in his stomach ignite when your eyes flutter closed.
Your lips are as soft as he's imagined, and they fit almost perfectly against his.
When you pull away, Albedo let's out a soft sigh, lips trailing yours slightly, as if on instinct.
"Just be mine Albedo."
He's nodding, and squeezing your hands in his slightly.
'Bless Barbatos' Is shouted in Albedo's mind as fireworks go off, a smile blooming on his lips that almost match the one forming on a familiar 'clumsy' bard's lips as he weaves his way away from the couple and back to the bar.

Leftoverture 3- Carry On
Tumblr media
Author’s Note: Don’t get me wrong, I loved the finale, but I was thinking about how much I miss Dean and I couldn’t stop thinking about ways I could have him back so…I’m going canon divergent while being as close to canon as possible. ‘Cause that’s how Cassie do. This is where Leftoverture officially crosses over with Crash Into Me!
Summary: Sam tries to convince Dean to talk to his widow, but it takes a visit from an old friend to get him to do the right thing.
Pairing: Dean x OFC
Word count: 3755
Story Warnings: angst, Post-barn scene sads, mentions of major character deaths (Dean and AU!Sam), mentions of depression, memory fuckery,
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Hey, get off the phone. Who are you texting?” Dean asked, looking over at Sam’s thumbs tapping out a message.
“I’m...just letting some people know that you’re back, okay? What?” Sam defended, pulling his phone out of Dean’s reach as his brother tried to grab it.
“She better not be part of that group text, Sam. I will kick your lanky ass.”
“Dean, come on.”
“She has mourned me! She’s probably just starting to get okay and you want me to break that? Not to mention the kid. How are we supposed to explain to her that I’m just suddenly not dead anymore?” Dean pulled over onto the shoulder and glared at Sam until he rolled his eyes and sighed, hitting the X to take his sister-in-law’s number away from the list that included Bobby 2.0, Jody, Donna, Charlie 2.0, and Garth. “Thank you.”
“It’s only been a month. You think she’s starting to get over you already?” Sam finished tapping out his text as Dean pulled back onto the interstate.
“I think I’m a threat to her life as long as I’m in her life, man. I mean, that’s why it took us so long to get together in the first place, because I knew that me being a hunter was gonna put her in the ground and it was just lucky for all of us that it put me in the ground before her.”
“Don’t say th-”
“It’s better for her to think I’m still dead!” Dean exploded. “If she knows I’m alive, she’ll come back to the bunker and she’s gonna end up dead and that’ll be on me! Okay, it’s better if she thinks I’m dead and we keep it that way!”
“So, I guess you’ve made up your mind on this one?” Sam asked.
“Yes!” Dean nodded, somehow still keeping his eyes on the road. “You know what, yes, I’ve made up my mind. Because she deserves to live a life that I’m not ruining. She never wanted the job to encroach on her life, or Rebel’s, okay? Fuck, if I ended up getting that little girl hurt, I could nev--and you know she only agreed to marry me in the first place because Chuck was gonna kill us all anyway and he’s not a problem anymore and what happened to my ring when I bit it? You didn’t burn it with me, did you, because that was a really good silver ring and if you melted it with me, I’m gonna be pissed.”
Sam shook his head in disappointment. “Your wife was wearing it on her thumb last time I saw it.”
Dean sighed and licked his lips. “It’s better this way, Sam. I know you don’t see it, but it’s better.”
“Right. You, uh, you remember when you guys were ‘just friends’ and she started dating that asshole that didn’t know what ‘no’ meant?” Dean’s jaw clenched tight at the memory. “You remember how pissed off you got that she was dating someone, let alone a Dom dickbag like him, and how you spent the entire weekend trying to get dirt on him to use to get her to dump him?”
"He was tryin' to put things in her while she was drunk! He deserved a bullet through the skull for that shit and he's lucky she wouldn't let me go talk to him."
"Yeah, I know. He was a piece of shit, but you didn't know that when we got there. You just didn’t like him because he was dating her."
"I'm a good judge of character and she is not. She dates douchebags. She always has. I mean, look at her cheating son-of-a-bitch ex-husband. If she's dating them, they're douchebags."
Sam rolled his eyes, obviously catching Dean’s self-deprecating undertone in that sentence. "Okay, but you're just gonna let her date someone else? You're gonna let her find some other douchebag to date that you won't be able to save her from?"
"I didn't save her from Mike or Drew. She was already half out the door on both of them before I interceded with either. And I know what you're doing and it's not gonna work." Dean pointed his finger in Sam’s face. "You're not gonna get me all jealous so I go find her because I'm afraid of her getting over me and moving on. I want her to move on. I want her to have a good life. That's the whole point here, man."
"Dean, she's not going to move on. She's gonna be devastated the rest of her life because you aren't-"
"So, we should make it worse by putting her through it twice?!" Dean snapped. "We should make her have to watch me burn another time, right? We should make her clear her shit out of the Bunker in a few years too? We should make her live with the hope that one day I'll manage to make it home again? We should put her heart back together just to shatter it into pieces again when I die permanently? Fuck you, Sam. I can't do it to her. I just...no."
Sam took a deep breath and shook his head sadly. "Fine."
"It's better this way. It's just better."
"Sure. It’s better.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There was something cleansing about a simple werewolf hunt. Sam was being a little overbearing, but Dean understood why. Sam didn’t want to see him die anymore than he wanted to die again. There were only two wolves and they went down easy. It was a textbook hunt...just like the vampire cult should have been.
Sam shook away memories of the night in the barn and followed an energized Dean out to the Impala. It wouldn’t happen again. Not anytime soon. Dean was around to stay. Sam would make sure of it.
“So, hit the motel, pizza and beer, head back to the bunker in the morning. Did you report my death to the fire department because I’m still wanting that job and I’ll have to think of one hell of an excuse if you told them I died.” Dean shrugged, continuing before Sam could respond. “I’m gonna need to come up with an excuse either way, but an excuse for a month of radio silence is easier than an excuse for comin’ out of the Lazarus Pit, ya know?”
“I...didn’t say anything to them, Dean. It was really low on my list of priorities to tell the Lebanon Volunteer Fire Department that Dean Campbell was dead.”
“Awesome. I’ll figure out what to tell them. For now...pizza.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“No, I know, it was a crazy situation, but I honestly think getting lost in the Yukon without a cell phone was probably the best thing that could have happened to me." Dean laughed into the phone as he walked into the library. "Yeah, exactly. Never gonna take a warm, dry bed for granted again. Well, thank you so much for understanding, Captain. I'm excited to get training. That's gonna be...yeah, I'm gonna be there. Thanks again."
Dean smiled as he tucked his phone into his pocket. "He bought it. Thanks for putting those fake Canadian news pieces up. Appreciate it."
"Okay, but what if someone else searches your fake name, Dean?"
Dean rolled his eyes. "You think she's Googling me?" He stepped forward and looked down at Sam sitting at the library table. "She Googles me and she'll find a story about a man named Dean Campbell getting lost in the Yukon and surviving on moose and wolverine and melted snow. No pic, no identifying words. She'll look at it, say 'It is a miracle this guy survived' and then she'll move on to the next search result, okay? I don't understand why you're all up in my business about this but-"
"You don't miss them?" Sam asked, pushing his hair out of his face and leaning forward.
Dean bit his lip and shook his head. "No, I do not."
Sam stood and looked down into his brother's eyes. "Well, I do."
"Well, they're staying gone." Dean patted his brother's shoulder and walked toward the hall. "Good talk."
He sat on the edge of his bed and ran his hand down his face. Of course he missed her. Of course he missed the little girl he treated as his own daughter...or...the other Dean treated like a daughter. It was just too difficult. Explaining to his wife was one thing, an easy thing. She’d come back in a heartbeat and it would all be fine between them. She wouldn’t care that he wasn’t exactly the same in body, that he had different scars and a slightly different pattern of freckles or that his hair wasn’t quite right even after trying to make it work for four damn days.
She fell for him because of how he treated her, how safe she felt with him, how he made her feel. All of that was in the memories. How he felt about her was in the memories, too. He loved her in a way he'd never been able to let himself love anyone else. She was so much different than any other woman he'd considered making a life with because she was like all the best parts of them all mixed together. She was smart like Cassie Robinson, badass like Jo Harvelle, understanding of the Life without being part of it...with a kid, just like Lisa. He remembered that...and he knew that he'd never find another woman like her.
That was okay. He didn't really want another one: another woman, partner, wife. He couldn’t see himself opening up like that to someone other than his short little badass. And Sam was right that he didn't really want her with someone else, either...but she deserved it. She deserved to get over him and move on to greener pastures. So he had to stay away. For her good, he had to stay dead.
For the good of the little girl, too. If he just came back from the dead, it would completely fuck that little girl's understanding of life and death. It would fuck her up for life.
Dean sighed, picking up his phone and kissing his lock screen; the picture they took on the beach for their honeymoon. He held the phone over his heart for a minute and lied back, staring at the ceiling until sleep took him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dean smiled as he sat in a folding chair on the side of a soccer field, watching a short blonde girl dribble a ball between her feet on the green grass. "She's gettin' good," he commented to himself.
"She missed tryouts this year," a familiar voice said. Dean gasped a little as he turned in his seat to look at the angel in the beige trenchcoat. "They moved back to Florida too late for her to be placed on a team."
"Cas? Are you--is this--this is a dream."
"Yes. But...my presence is not." Castiel smiled as Dean stood and wrapped him in a hug. "Jack saved me from the Cosmic Entity from the Empty. We've been improving Heaven."
Dean pulled back and sniffled as he slapped a hand on Cas' shoulder. "Man, where have you been, then? We've missed you."
"Angels stay in Heaven now. Jack and I thought it was best to keep our interference to a minimum." Cas chuckled. "I'm not technically supposed to be here now."
Dean licked his lips. "Well, then...what's with the, uh, Freddy Krueger you're pulling?"
"Dean requested it. He knows what's been happening on Earth, that you've taken on his memories and essentially become him, and he knows that you are avoiding Cassie."
Dean scoffed and stepped back from the angel. "I'm sure he's got an opinion on all this."
"He does. He has a strong opinion on what you're doing and what you should be doing." Castiel stepped closer. "He told me to tell you to get your head out of your ass. He said that, if you have his memories, you're in love with her too and you need to go to her. He knows you couldn’t live with losing her forever...so don't lose her."
"Cas, she's better off without me."
"Is she?" the angel challenged. "Because she’s Dean Winchester’s widow. Doesn't that put a target on her back?"
Dean pressed his lips together in a thin line and looked away. She could handle it...right? "She's got protections...and we taught her to fight. She's gonna be fine."
"Dean told me to tell you that if you don't get in his car and drive to Florida, he's going to 'rip your pansy lungs out'," Cas said, doing air quotes. Dean scoffed. "He was very adamant that you go to her."
"Fine. But it's gonna hurt her. I'm gonna hurt her." Dean was absolutely serious but Cas just smiled and shook his head a little. "Hey, uh, Cas? Before you go...I'm...I'm not gonna get to see you again, right? So, don't you think we should talk about-"
"I think that would be a bit redundant." Castiel’s smile brightened, crinkles forming at the corners of his eyes. "Dean and I have spoken at length about my sacrifice and the words spoken before Billie and I were taken to the Empty."
"And?"
"And Dean Winchester’s Heaven is full of people who love and cherish him...who see him for the hero he is. He never believes he's going to hurt any of them. You should learn from his example."
"DEAN! Look!" Dean looked behind him to see the girl kick the soccer ball at the goal. He couldn’t help the smile that crossed his face.
"Great job, Youngblood!" he shouted before turning back around. The angel was gone.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dean smiled tightly at Sam as he walked into the kitchen the next morning. “So, uh...I’m gonna take a few days...drive down to Florida.”
Sam’s eyes lit up. “Really?”
Dean nodded. “Yeah...Castiel came to me in a dream last night. Said the original me is up there in Heaven and he’s very unhappy with my choice.”
“Really?” Sam was obviously amused.
“Yeah. I don’t know if it was really him or not. Maybe it was just my brain kickin’ me in the ass but...I’m gonna go get ‘em back.”
“Thank you. I was hoping you’d come to your senses.”
“Yeah, yeah, anyway...I’ll be back in a couple days. I’ve got training on Monday so...it’ll be a short trip. Maybe she’ll come back, maybe she won’t but…” He shrugged. “Don’t know ‘til I go talk to her.”
“Good luck, man.”
Dean nodded before heading to the garage. He had plenty of time to get nervous as he drove toward his in-laws’ house in North Florida. A month wasn’t too long. She’d gone longer without him in the past, but...he was alive back then. She knew he’d be back eventually.
He parked the Impala down the street. He wanted to see her before he talked to her. He needed to see how she was working through his death...if she even needed him. Dead Dean told him to go, but if she was moving on, he’d just get back in the car.
She was on the porch when he arrived, coming around the neighbor’s house to hide in the shadows around the side of her parent’s house. “It’s still hard. I don’t think it’s ever not gonna be hard. I still keep wanting to hear that damn Impala coming down the road. But even if I did hear it...I know it’d be Sam.” Dean bit his bottom lip. She was still mourning him. “I don’t know, Manda, but Erik has been a godsend.” His eyebrows went up. Who the fuck is Erik? Did she move on already? “He’s the only reason I get out of bed most mornings. He’s been helping a lot with Aria, driving her to school in the morning and making breakfast. Oh, he makes the best pancakes.” She gave a small chuckle. “Not that I need pancakes. I’ve put on, like, fifteen pounds since he died. Yeah, that is a lot. Erik doesn’t think so either...and Dean wouldn’t care...but I care”
Dean watched her shrug before shaking her head. “I don’t know. He seems nice but...my parents didn’t even know Dean and I got married, so of course Erik doesn’t know. He doesn’t understand...but he’s helping anyway.” She sighed and hummed a little into the air, staring up at the moon. “It’s still just really hard.”
Dean watched as she finished her phone call to her best friend and kept looking up into the night sky. He had to force himself to step around the side of the house and toward her. “Who’s Erik?” he asked. It was the only thing he could think to ask. Green eyes behind thick, dark glasses went wide as she turned to look at him.
“Dean?” she squeaked.
“Mostly,” he whispered as she threw her phone to skim across the grass and launched herself at him. He closed his eyes as she wrapped her arms around him, overwhelmed by the feel of her warmth against him. “Come on, Crash, I taught you better than this. Where’s your silver and holy water, baby?”
“Inside,” she sobbed out into his chest. “But I know you’re you. I can feel it.”
He pressed his lips to her hair and took a step back, leaning down a bit to look directly into her eyes. “I am me, but I’m also...I’m also not. Can we...can we take a walk?”
“Of course!” she agreed, sniffling and wiping at her eyes under her glasses.
They started to walk out of the yard onto the street. “Okay, but before I get into my whole thing...who the fuck is Erik?”
“Oh, he’s a maintenance guy, works with my dad. When I moved to the Bunker, Erik rented my room.”
Dean nodded, his lips pursed. “So, he’s your parents’ tenant and you’re letting him take your daughter to school?”
“My parents trust him...I trust him.” She stuck her hands in her pockets and shrugged. “He’s a nice guy...and he’s a writer, too. He was shocked by the number of notebooks I have. He used to do all of his writing on his computer, but he’s started writing in notebooks since I showed him the versatility of handwriting a story. He said it was like going back to simpler times.”
“Okay. I guess...so, he’s just…”
“He’s just a guy that lives at the house.” She looked over at him as he jammed his hands in his jacket pockets. “So, how are you back? Sam burned you. You shouldn’t be back.”
“You remember when Chuck was destroying the other universes and the other versions of me and Sam showed up? They were fleeing their world.”
“I remember. Sam wouldn’t take his hair down.”
“Right, well...um…” He cleared his throat. “Couple weeks ago, Man-bun Sam died in South America. Werewolves...and Dean couldn’t take it and he did a full wipe of his memories so that he wouldn’t have to remember and Sam went to Rowena to get her to fix it. Her version of fixing it was to give him, give me, your husband’s memories.”
“So, you’re-” She stopped in the middle of the street and turned to look at him. “You’re not my Dean?”
“Of course I am. I’ve got all of his memories. I’ve got all of his love.” He rubbed at the back of his neck. “Slightly different body...and a different soul. Your Dean is in Heaven. But I’m just like him. I’m exactly like him, Crash.”
She swallowed and searched his face for a few moments before she looked away. “The day we met...why was I crying?”
She was quizzing him, testing his memories, seeing how much like her husband he really was. “Mike left you,” he said quietly. “It wasn’t the first time...or the last. Rebel was about...two years old and you were tryin’ to hold yourself together. We shared some beer and talked about the monster Sam and I put down...and you gave me your number.”
“You, uh, you had a tattoo that I designed...it burned so you don’t have it now, but what-”
“I’ll get the rune again,” he interrupted. “So you can astral to me again.”
“Oh, it is you,” she whispered.
“It is me.” He wrapped her in a hug again and she grabbed at his jacket to hold him to her. “I don’t know how to go about this, though. How are we gonna explain to the kid that-”
“I-I don’t know.” She pulled back and shook her head. “I don’t know if she even caught on to the fact that you were dead...all I said was ‘gone’. I just said you were gone.”
That might make it easier. “Is she back at the house?”
“No. She’s with her father. It’s just Erik and my parents at the house right now.”
“Do your parents know I died? I’m just trying to determine if we can go in or if I’m sleeping in the car tonight.” He smiled at her as she sighed and looked away.
“I told them you broke up with me.”
“So, can I come inside?”
“You’ll have to sleep on the couch...unless you wanna sleep on the floor in Aria’s room. I’ve been sleeping with her on her loft bed since Erik has my old room and bed and all that.”
He smiled and headed toward the house, her hand in his. “She still have that big pile of stuffed animals under the loft?” She nodded and he smirked. “Then I’ll sleep in her zoo.”
She led him into the house and started up the stairs. They were halfway up the stairs when the door to the room that used to be hers opened. “Cass?” a voice asked. Dean stopped in his tracks.
“Didn’t mean to wake you, Erik.”
“It’s okay. I was just worried when you didn’t come back in. Are you-” Shadows fell over Dean and Crash as a figure stepped to the top of the stairs. “Oh, shit.”
Dean’s eyes narrowed as he stepped around his wife and up a few stairs. “What the hell are you doin’ here?” he demanded.
“You’re dead,” the blue-eyed man squeaked.
“About as dead as you’re about to be, Chuck.”
You never agreed with the Fire Nations beliefs. You didn't think they deserved to rule the world. You were Admiral Zhao's kid and were meant to take his spot when he died. Because of your dads high rank and age similarity with Azula, you two trained together. And maybe that's why you couldn't leave... God knows you wanted to and you had so many chances to do so. But you had grown up with Azula, seen what she had gone through. All she ever wanted was at least a sliver of the love her mom had given Zuko. When your dad disappeared you took over his role as Admiral. Azula was annoyed that you were now being shipped out with a bunch of soldiers to do her fathers dirty work. So she pulled you in to one final mission with her and her friends.
Dressed up as a Kyoshi warrior was weird. You wondered how they even fought in these ridiculous get ups. You also felt that the make up was a little over the top. But they must be doing something right too, because Azula could not stop staring at you. Yeah she used to stare at you before, but when you would look at her she would just smirk and look away. Now though, when you looked, she would blatantly check you out, looking you up and down, before biting her lip and looking away. And if your blush had been bad before you were sure it was worse now, not even the make up could hide it. You had always felt something more towards the princess than friendship but kept it to yourself not wanting to get on the Fire Lords bad side or even Azula's. But these past few days have you thinking that maybe, just maybe, she felt the same.
You watched in shock as Aang, the avatar, rose up in his avatar state. You looked around frantically for Azula in case you needed to make a quick get away. When you finally saw her, she was standing behind the avatar, you watched in shock again as she sent lightning right into the avatars back. You cringed as the lightning shocked him and caused him to smoke as he fell to the ground. Then you hear yelling come from behind you to see a giant wave come up from behind and wash everyone away. When you got hit by the wave you panicked for a moment trying to find something to grab onto before you felt yourself get pulled up. You put your arms around the neck of whoever pulled you up, as they put there arms around your waist and pulled you closer to them. When you looked up, you were surprised to see that Azula was the one holding you. She was sporting a huge grin while watching Katara take Aang out and away from the battlefield. When she finally looked down and saw you looking at her, her smile softened a bit before taking a hand from your waist and using it to move the hair out of your face. You blushed at the action before hearing people moving behind you. You hastily pulled away from Azula at the noise, knowing that she wouldn't want to be caught in a compromising position.
Azula stood in front of the earth kings throne as she and Long Feng had a stare off. You stood next to the throne, a little nervous. You believed in Azula fully but Long Feng was a wild card and you didn't like wild cards. However, you relaxed when you watched Azula sit on the throne and Long Feng bow. She ordered them all to leave before she grabbed your hand and made you stand in front of the throne and her. You looked at her questioningly before she pulled you into her lap, causing you to blush and look down. Azula chuckled at the action before putting her finger under your chin and lifting it. "Now that I've captured Ba Sing Se, I feel as if I deserve a reward." You looked at her in confusion causing her to scoff. "Don't look so confused. You act as if I haven't caught you staring or let you catch me staring. Honestly, waiting for you to make the first move has been such a bore." Your eyes widen in shock as your realize that she felt the same way, you honestly thought her and Ty Lee and a thing going on. When Azula realized that you weren't going to move, she took matters into her own hands and gripped your chin harder before pulling you into a kiss. When your lips connected you lost your breath. You had imagined kissing Azula many times but none were as good as this. You had expected her lips to be chapped but your surprise they were smooth and had a light taste of cherry. You don't think you could every look at cherries the same way again.
"Ahem." You heard from your right, causing you and Azula to pull away. You eyes widen at the sight of Zuko standings there, arms crossed in front of his chest. "I need to speak to Azula... alone." He stated barely giving you a second glance. Azula sighed before standing up, with you now being carried on her front. "You always were a cock block, weren't you Zuzu." She said rolling her eyes as she placed you down in on the throne. "I'll be right back to celebrate and get more of my reward." She winked before turning around to walk away with Zuko. Leaving you a blushing mess sitting in the throne.
Before heading back to the fire nation Azula decided to take you on a date. You and her hadn't really talked about your relationship status since your first kiss but you had started sleeping in her room since that day. She decided to take you to the newer zoo in the putter ring. (The one that Aang made in that episode with all those short stories) To say you were excited was an understatement, you loved animals. Of course you never told anyone this, not wanting it to make you seem weak. But Azula knew all about your secret obsession, she may or may not have read your journal/diary. Azula made sure that she had guards blocking the entrance/exit to the zoo to not let anyone in. As much as she enjoyed keeping of the façade of a cold hearted bitch, not that it was hard, she wanted to truly relax and be herself. Azula truly trusted you and knew you would never leave if betray her. So she spent the whole day being herself with you. When you would get excited and start practically jumping up and down, she'd hold your hand in hope to calm you down. When you'd lean on the half wall to try and see the animals better she'd come up behind you, wrap her arms around your waist and lean her chin on your shoulder. You loved this side of Azula and you knew that when your back in public it would all end. So you spent the day holding her hand, cuddling in to her as you walked, kissing her. Anything you knew would become scarce once you were back in the real world.
Sadly, everything come to an end. You didn't want the day to be over. You were having so much fun. As you walking towards the exit of the zoo Azula stopped suddenly. You turned around to look at her in confusion. "Azula is everything..." "Be mine." Azula interrupts you. You know she meant it as a question but it came out as more of a command. You raised an eyebrow at her in response. "I... don't do that to me... you know what I meant" she rolls her eyes before trying again, "Will you be mine?" This time you smiled happily before pulling her into a kiss. You tried to kiss her as long as possible but you couldn't stop smiling. "Of course."
*Time Skip*
Zuko barged into Azula's room, letting shock wash over his face as he noticed you laying next to her. Zuko opens his mouth to yell before seeing Azula put up a hand to stop him. She slowly and as carefully as possible, untangled herself from you before walking out into the hall and closing the door behind Zuko. "What do you want?" She asked already annoyed with Zuko interruption. Zuko wanted to ask about what was going on between you and his sister but refrained, seeing as Azula was already so pissed. "You told dad I killed the avatar. Why? What do you gain from this?" Azula smirked at her older brother. "You've been trying to get into dads good graces again. You've returned home a hero. You have been going after the avatar for all these years. You might as well be the one claim his death. Besides what does it matter the avatar is dead now anyways. If he wasn't though... dad wouldn't be happy." Azula ends her sentence with a cheeky smile. Zuko tried to suppress his emotions. He sent Azula a glare before opening his mouth to respond. But before he could they both heard the door next to them creek open. "Azula?" You mumbled out, trying to wipe the sleep out of your eyes. "The bed got cold. I looked around and... oh" you said ending your sentence, just now noticing Zuko standing across from Azula. Azula smiled at you before turning back to Zuko, "As much as I'm enjoying our little... conversation, I am needed elsewhere." Azula turned away from Zuko, not even letting him respond, before picking you up, walking into her room and closing the door behind you. She laid you back on to the bed before going around to her side and climbing in. Almost immediately you latch on to her and fall right back asleep. Azula spend a few minutes admiring you as you sleep before closing her eyes with a smile on her face, hoping to dream about a future with you.
Vert x Reader x Alternative Vert
You settled in handler corners about a year ago and made friends with the people who work at spectre motors. But, one day you became awestruck for the fact that you saw them coming out of a portal. That's when you knew what they really do. You have been nagging them to bring you with them but Vert refused. The reason why is because he's afraid you might get hurt and also, you tried to ride the saber the other day. But, what happened was you drove it to the maximum speed limit. And you crashed his car on a giant rock. You hit your head on the glass real hard and ever since then, he's been treating you like a kid. So, you kept annoying Vert to the point where he gave up and said yes. But he told you to not walk around the battle zone and instead, stay with Stanford.
You were with them on the training tracks watching the solar eclipse through those special glasses that allows you to look at the sun, until Sage announced through their coms that a stormshock was detected, with a warning. Those solar flares could damage their vehicles. Vert turned to you with a serious expression. "Don't get out of the reverb. If you do, then it'll be the last time I'm taking you to a battlezone". You nodded in agreement. You hopped on the reverb and they all took off.
"Stay double frosty guys. Sage said those solar flares could do nasty stuff to our instruments." Vert warned. "Solar activity peak level coinciding with portal entry" Sage announced through the coms as Stanford kept touching a button on the touch screen of his reverb. "Might explain why my rear axle telemetry a bit dodgy." Stanford said.
"Caution. Battlezone may also be affected."
Everyone got inside the portal and arrived on a planet that looks really fimiliar. Like the ones they show on science fiction movies. "Looks like a standard alien desert to me." Spinner said. "Everybody make some dust. Find me a key!" Vert said as he went to the other direction. "As soon as I find out what's wrong my axle. Catch up with you." Stanford parked his car on an area near a mountain. You got annoyed because you couldn't see the rest of the zone for a bit.
Stanford got out of the reverb with a socket wrench that he carries with him. He crossed your arms as you watched him open the bonet. "First rule of a manual servo repair. Never need one." Stanford started to twist and turn some of the parts with the socket wrench. You grunted in annoyance. "Hey Stan. Can I get out and watch the view. I wanna walk around a bit." You asked. "No. Vert told me to make sure your inside the Reverb at all cost." Stanford replied. Not looking in your direction. "Come on! I don't wanna sit here! I just wanna walk!!!" You whined. But, he just ignored you. You looked outside and sighed. Then you got an idea. "Hey stan. I'll make a promise to you if you let me out." You said. He looked at you, a brow raised. "What promise?" He asked. "If you let me out, I'll tell Grace how amazing you are! I know you like her and I'm sure she'll listen to me. That way, she'll ask you out!" You said, with a big smile. He rubbed his chin and thought about it for a second. A smile formed on his face. "Okay! You can come out!" He said. You felt really happy and when you got out of the reverb, you gave Stanford a big hug. "Thank you!!!" You said, before going to the other side, enjoying the view.
You kept walking around until you saw something coming from the distance. It looked like a gold chariot... And it was coming towards you. You ran to Stanford and hid behind him. He gasped when he saw one of his enemies right in front of him. He dropped his socket wrench as the mutant like creature aimed his crossbow at him.
"Go on then! What are you waiting for fang face?!" Stanford said with pure hate. "Even though you humans want to destroy my world, I cannot attack an unarmed man." Kalus said. Stanford looked at him, confused. "Who are you? And what have you done with Kalus?" Stanford asked. "And you, are not acting like a member of the evil battle force 5!" Kallus exclaimed. "Evil battle force 5?" You whispered. Stanford looked at you, indicating he was confused, just as you.
"Mount your vehicle and let us battle as honour dictates." Kalus said. Stanford took a step back, almost stepping on your feet. "Uhh.... One moment..." He said before he spoke through his com. "Guys! Kalus has me in his crosshairs, but he's being... Honourable. Please advice." "On our way!" Vert replied as he and the others went to where Stanford stood.
You saw the team coming towards them from the distance. The tension was relieved.
"Huh! Typical Battle Force 5. Refusing to choose the Vandal code to settle our differences like gentleman!" Kalus spat.
"A vandal gentleman? Huh! In what world?" Sherman asked. "Maybe in this world. Sage said the battlezone could be affected. Captain Kalus! Wait! Please." Vert stopped the Saber infront of him. You and Stanford quickly got inside the Reverb and he aimed the sonic canons at Kalus. "Captain Kalus!" Vert called as he got out, without bringing his double edged sword. Kalus aimed his crossbow at him. "I'd like to speak with you! I've come unarmed." He walked towards him. "Vert! We've got him surrounded. What are you doing?!" Agura questioned. "Playing a hunch I'm about to wish I never had. Cover me but stay back." Vert said. Kalus got out of his chariot. "What kind of trickery is this?!" He questioned. Vert held out his arm, motioning Stanford to turn off the sonic canons.
"You... Ordered your team to stay back..." Kalus said. "I did. So, where is yours?" Vert asked. "Ugh! You know very well what happened to them!" Kalus said before sniffing Vert's uniform. "Or do you?" Kalus got surprised of the scent Vert had. It wasn't the same scent he was fimiliar with.
"It's not Kalus!" Vert turned around to the team. "Uhh... How many talking lions with crossbows are there riding around in gold chariots?" Agura was confused. Zoom came and stopped the chopper beside the tangler. "Just did a flyby on the battle key!" He said before turning to Vert. Surprised to see Kalus standing next to him. "Whoa! And we're not whipping lion butt why?" "Somehow those solar flares must of connected us to a dimention exactly opposite our own." Sherman explained. You gasped in surprise. "Am I gonna see the opposite version of the team?" You thought. "With good Vandals! (Idk what word he said after that... lol)" Stanford said, confused and surprised at the same time. "So where's the rest of your team?" Vert asked. "My good friends Hatch, Xever and Crocomodo were elimimated... Long ago...." Kalus said sadly. His face drooped down. You looked at him with pity. "By who?" Vert asked. "By.... Them...." Kalus pointed to the distance, as he heard a team of cars racing towards them. The whole team looked at the distance and saw their opposites. "Those look just like our rides!" Sherman exclaimed. "Normally it's between me and that battle force 5. Which exists only to conquer peacefull worlds..." Kalus said.
"Well... Look what we have here?" The alternative vert's voice was heard through the com. You gasped at how his tone was so.... Evil... "They look like us, but they're so... Clean." "Not after I'm done with them." "I wanna smash them. Into teeny tiny bits!" "Wow Sherm! That was nearly a complete sentence!" "Oh, you boys are like soooo immature!" "Shut your traps. First we get the key. Then we play...." A fit of evil laughter sent chills down your spine. Anti-Vert noticed you sitting with Stanford. He looked at you and winked. "Uhhh...." You had no words to say. "Whoa. Doppleganger dudes really got their fight on!" Spinner said. "Can't let 'em get the key. What do you need Zoom?" Vert asked. "Battle key is in the side of a mini mountain. Gonna need Agura!" Zoom replied. "Nothings out of my reach!" Agura said. "Agura go for the key. Everyone else on defense. Let's go!" The team charged towards their opposites. They looked at each other in pure hate. You gripped on your seat because of how fast the Reverb was going.
"Looks like those goodie goodies are gonna get in our way!" Anti-Spinner said. "Split up. Take 'em one on one." Anti-Vert ordered. The Saber's blades collided with each other. Anti-Vert's blade scraped past the Saber. Vert grunted in anger.
Anti-Vert's Saber got near the Reverb and he came to your side of the car. "Hey sexy! He thinks he's better than me. Let me show you what I can do." He said before charging towards Vert's Saber. Vert got really angry when his alternarive self called you "sexy". God, he wanted to punch his anti-self's perfect teeth. "If you are trying to challenge me, you're doing a terrible mistake! I'm gonna kick your butt!" Vert said. "That will be in your dreams. The woman/man is mine!" Anti-Vert said. "No, mine!" Vert muttered. "She/he is mine!"
You were watching the entire thing. Each time Vert gets pushed back by his anti self, Anti-Vert has a grin on his face. He knows you are still watching the fight. But, you suddenly can't see them because the Reverb has gone away from them. "Stanford. Follow the girl/boy and try to wreck their Reverb." Anti-Vert said. "Consider it done!" He said. You saw Anti-Stanford following the Reverb really tightly. "Ohmygosh. Please go faster!" You said. "I am!" Stanford swerved the car left and right. Trying to avoid the sonic attacks. His anti self got to your side and you gasped when he made his car push the Reverb to the side. Both Stanford and his evil self pushed each other back and forth. "Coming here was a bad idea..." You regreted annoying Vert. This is what Vert has been warning you about. Something like this always happen. Suddenly, Anti-Stanford pushed his vehicle too hard on the Reverb. Causing the mirror on your side to break. Shards of glasses fell onto your arm. It's sharp sides grazed your skin. Causing a cut on the thin layer of skin. But enough to bleed. It stinged a little. "We'll get away from.... Me..." Stanford somehow managed to turn the Reverb, making it face his anti self. They both sonic blasted each other. Stanford and his anti self took the hit, causing the Reverb to be pushed back. You hit your head really hard on the back and on the side..... The glass shards cut the side of your cheek. It started to bleed and your head hurts fr om hitting the back too hard. "(Y/N)!!! You're bleeding!!!" Stanford gasped in horror. "I'm... I'm okay... Just go!" You said. The Reverb took off, leaving Anti-Stanford alone. You started to feel nauseous and a splitting headache took place. "I... I don't feel so good..." You said, covering your mouth. Trying not to vomit because of how the Reverb's movement is. "I'll take you somewhere that'll keep you safe!" Stanford said.
Stanford parked the Reverb on a small cave. A cave where it's not clearly seen. Both you and Stanford got out. You sat on the floor, leaning onto the wall, as Stanford inspected your injuries. "I don't have an emergency kit. Sorry about that..." Stanford apologized. "N-no it's okay." You said, as you took out your handkerchief from your pocket. You placed it on your cheek, hoping the bleeding will stop. "I should be the onr who's sorry. I shouldn't have come here." You said sadly. "It's okay (Y/N)." Stanford smiled. "You stay here. The Reverb is already damaged. If you're in it, then it'll cause more injuries to you. Our opposites won't find you." Stanford said as he got inside the Reverb. He disappeared into the distance and you sighed. "I shouldn't have come here..."
Vert and his anti-self kept pushing their vehicles on each other, causing a lot of damage. He chuckled. "You already know that soon, the woman/man that you have brought with you on your mission will be mine! I already know it. You're weak!" He said. "Not gonna happen!" Vert shouted. Then Anti-Vert saw the Reverb coming out from the side of a mountain, but you weren't there with him. "Are you sure Vert?" Anti-Vert asked before violenly pushing Vert's Saber with his blades. Vert's vehicle flipped over and Anti-Vert went to where Stanford came.
You started to feel lightheaded and your head was throbbing and you placed your hand on the back of your head. You felt warm liquid covering your palm. It was blood. You sighed, praying the team will come back to get you. You laid down and curled up like a ball, trying to fall asleep. After a few minutes, you heard a vehicle coming towards you. It sounded like the Saber. You felt relieved for Vert being here and you got up... Only to see his alternative self staring at you. He chuckled. "Are you trying to rest my love?" He asked. "I'm not your love! Leave me alone!" You said, as you stood up. "You don't know what I am capable of. I'm way better than the Vert from your homeworld." He said. "Oh no no no. You are just a freak. I don't like men like you!" You shouted. He looked at you with no emotion. He took a step towards you and you took a step back. "Me? A freak? Ha! You don't know me well dear." Vert said. "And you don't know me as well. I'm capable of fighting you off. I have a black belt in karate!" You exclaimed. Suddenly, Anti-Vert just burst out into laughter. "Do you really expect me to believe that?! You don't look like the type to be violent." He said. "Oh, But I am. Don't mess with me!" You said. He took a step forward and you lunged at him, ready to punch his face. But, he grabbed both of your wrist. "Hm... A black belt in karate, huh?" He said, mockingly. "I-I just went e-easy on you!" You said, as you tried to pull yourself out of his grip. But, he was too strong. "Don't even try. You're weak!" He said. You mentally slapped yourself from doing that stupid move. The amount of energy you took to get out of his grip made you feel as if the world was spinning around you. Your legs became weak and you almost fell down, but Anti-Vert caught you. He grazed his fingers on the cut on your cheek. "Looks like Stanford got a little harsh on you...". "I'm very sorry about that..." He suddenly pinned you against a wall.
He looked at how vulnerable you are. It didn't take long to smash his lips onto yours. You couldn't protest as your body felt like jelly. He stopped kissing you as you bit his tongue harshly. "Gah!" He hissed in pain. You fell down on the floor. "D-don't do i-it a-again...." You spoke. Your voice was weak. The blood from his tongue starts to drip down from his mouth. "I would love my woman/man to be a little more compliant. I don't mind playful biting.... But, not in a way it'll stop someone from kissing you..." He said. "Go... To... Hell!" You spat. He just laughed. "You will be under my control when I take you away from them!" He said, with a wicked smile.
"STAY AWAY FROM HER YOU SACK OF SH*T!!!" Someone shouted from the distance. You both looked at who it was. It was Vert. Your Vert. He ran towards his anti-self and kicked him in the guts. Anti-Vert grunted in pain. "You will seriously gonna regret doing that!" He said. "YOU WILL SERIOUSLY GONNA REGRET TAKING MY WOMAN/MAN AWAY FROM ME!!!!" Vert shouted. Then, both Vert and his alternative self started to have a fist fight. You couldn't move or speak, and you laid down almost unconscious.
Vert somehow beaten his anti-self down. He ran to you and picked you up. "You're bleeding!!!" He gasped as he felt the warm liquid from your head. He ran out of the cave and placed you inside the Reverb. "Get her/him home! Now!" He ordered. Stanford nodded and he took you to the hub. He went back to the Saber and looked at his anti-self. "You and I are gonna have a fight. With our vehicles..." He said.
Childhood promises - Hisagi Shuhei
Tumblr media
"Shuhei wake up! It's snowing!" (Your Name) says putting on her torn up shoes while running outside. Rukongai in the winter was harsh and they were poor but it didn't mean they weren't happy.
"I'm coming!" He calls out putting on his robe and touching the white floor.
She was playing with the snow and smiling. He shyly watched. "Come on!" She yelled out and grabbed his hand.
"Ahh!" He protested and stood next to her and she smiled.
"Let's make something!"
They made a snowman and laughed as it fell apart from their poor attempt of it.
"I'm hungry (Your Name)." He says clutching his stomach.
With a worried face she walks back into their house and looks at what they had left. "Here eat this."
It was the last of their rice balls they had.
"But you won't be able to have any."
(Your Name) smiles and gives it to Shuhei anyways. "It's okay eat it."
Looking at the rice ball he broke it in half.
"Thanks." She smiles and eats it in one bite.
Shuhei zones out in the office and smiles sadly to himself. He had missed (Your Name) deeply and regret being a weak friend at the time.
He remembered he thought of her as family, they had no one. Although she was 5 years older than him (Your Name) worked hard for them.
Shuhei remember she worked at a small stall in rukongai and she made enough money for them to live enough to survive. Although they starved from time to time they were happy.
Kensei walks in with papers and places them on Shuhei desk. "Need these done by tomorrow."
"Okay Captain."
Kensei stares at Shuhei and walks out the office. He noticed that his Vice Captain had been spacing out recently but he didn't want to push any matters that were unnecessary.
"Are you okay (Your Name)?" Shuhei asks with teary eyes as he watched her wrapped a cut she got from work that day. "I'm okay thanks."
She smiles and sets down some hot soup she warmed up, although there was no rice today.
"What did you do while I was gone?"
"I played out in the fields with some friends."
"Fun, I'm glad you made it back safe."
"Actually... we were almost killed by a hollow."
"What?! Shuhei you could have gotten killed!"
He looks down and starts to cry. "I know, I'm sorry I was so scared. I couldn't do nothing. It was so big and strong. I didn't want to leave you either."
(Your Name) pulls him to an embrace like a mother would and kissed his head. "It's okay you are safe now."
"I met a Captain, and he saved my life. It made me realize that I wanna be a Shinigami when I'm older. I can take care of us and get strong!"
(Your Name) laughs and ruffle his messy hair. "Okay one day, promise me."
"I promise!"
The next morning they were rudely awakened when their door was knocked down and a group of men came in.
Shuhei eyes frighten as (Your Name) became alert and pulled him behind her.
"Your the bitch that sold us the fake metal." One said and grabbed her harshly.
"(Your Name)!" Shuhei yells and runs after her but she stops him.
"Don't come after me!"
He panics and watches as she struggles to get off the grip of the men. They were dragging her somewhere unknown.
"Leave her alone!" Shuhei screams and grabs the stick to hit the men.
Shuhei was sent flying a few feet in the air as they punched him and his nose bleed. He wanted to cry but he was losing (Your Name).
As they dragged her off Shuhei was left with one other dude as he beat Shuhei black and purple.
Lying on the floor (Your Name) was out of sight as he cried and ran to find her.
He screamed and fell to the ground.
Shuhei grips his hand in a fist as he laid in bed looking at the ceiling. He thought about (Your Name) wondering if she ever survived.
Rubbing his eyes he pushed the tears threatening to fall. She had sacrificed everything for them and he couldn't even save her that day.
The next morning Shuhei walked into the publishing office and greeted everyone with a smile. It was a new day and new opportunities waited for him.
"Me and Renji are giving some rookies a tour of Soul Society wanna join me?" Kira asks him as Shuhei had to pass. "Um nah seems kinda boring but good luck though!"
(Your Name) ended up stuck with a group of new comers like her as they toured the place, the blonde dude was kinda bland and gloomy but he showed everyone the important stuff which was the only thing that mattered.
"What squad do you wanna join?" A girl as her as she looked around amazed at the place.
"I'm not sure yet! I guess any that accepts me!"
Passing all the barracks Kira goes into the editing room. "And this is where we publish all the paper work, stories and headlines. The head of editor and chief is Lieutenant of Squad 9."
Shuhei greets everyone and smiles talking about how fun and hard working the publishers are.
(Your Name) looks at him with confusion. He didn't state his name but he looked familiar to her. "My name is Hisagi Shuhei! I can't wait to see what squad everyone joins!"
"What a minute? That's!"
"Okay everyone follow me." Kira boringly says and walks them out as she turns to find Shuhei but he was already gone talking to a few coworkers.
"I guess I'll catch up to him at another time. He's so grown now."
She smiles knowing that he successfully took care of himself. Although the scar and 69 was new.
"(Your Name)?" Shuhei calls out as she washes the rice for them that night.
"Yes?"
"Will you ever leave me for someone else?"
She tilted her head in confusion and laughs. "What do you mean?"
"Like if a guy came and you liked him."
"No silly, we have each other."
"Promise?"
"I promise! Trust me when you get older all the ladies will swoon for you."
"He's so hot!" A few girls giggled to themselves as they continued the tour.
By night time came they entered a dorm place for all new comers. Tomorrow was the day that they picked their squad whether they wanted to be in it or not.
(Your Name) was placed under the 6th squad, which to her seem pretty good because her Captain was a noble and everyone seemed fairly strong. Although she wasn't nearly as good as a seated officer she didn't mind working her way up.
"Abarai Fukutaicho?" She calls out one day as he turns to her. "Um? Do you know where I can talk to Shuhei?"
"Uh?? You mean like the Lieutenant from squad 9? Are y'all close like that?"
"Yes, I'm his childhood friend. We lost contact a long time ago but I just found him."
Renji was bewildered, he didn't know much about Shuhei past but it sounded a lot like him and Rukia so he couldn't reject her.
"Yeah I'll let him know."
Shuhei was in the middle of a rush when Renji walked in. "Yo! Someone was asking for you!"
"Not now! I'm kinda busy." Shuhei states skimming through the papers rangiku messed up on.
"It's (Your Name) she really wants to see you." Renji says as Shuhei drops the papers and looks up shocked. "You mean it?!"
"Yes, like she's in my squad and everything."
"Where?! Where is she!" Shuhei yells with a big smile on his face as he gets up from his desk.
"Woah woah calm down!" She's over at the fields training-" without letting Renji finish his sentence he made a run for it.
Renji smiles and scoffs. He was happy knowing that the reunion was going to be a good one.
Shuhei saw her with her sword training hard as she sweated and concentrated on her spiritual energy. "(Your Name)!" He yells out as she turns to him.
She smiles and ran towards him as they pull each other in a embrace.
"Shuhei! You're so grown now!" She says and he crushes her with his inhuman strength now. "Well you're so tiny!"
They let go as they both couldn't stop smiling. "How?" He says as she sat on the grass as he took a seat next to her.
"Remember when they took me, I managed to escape but we were so far away I couldn't find the way back home."
Shuhei groans and looks down. "If only I was strong back then, I would have saved you."
"It's fine, you were a kid. I don't blame you."
He smiles softly as she touches his face and he starts to blush. "What happen to your face?" She asks with concern.
"Don't worry, just battles and the 69 is something I got from the man that saved my life. He's actually my captain now."
She laughs and lets go. "Well you succeeded, now you can protect me from now on."
2 years later
"Why don't you tell her!" Hinamori pouts at Shuhei trying to push him into the restaurant.
"Be-because it's weird! She was like an older sister to me."
"But you like her right?" Rangiku jumps in unintentionally popping her breast out as Shuhei looks away in awkwardness.
"Better tell her before someone else beats you to it." Kira adds looking into the restaurant spotting (Your Name) dressed in a nice kimono waiting for a certain childhood friend.
"Come on! Renji even asked Kuchiki Taicho to reserve the best restaurant in Seireitei right now!" Hinamori says making Shuhei feel a bit guilty that Renji made the effort to beg his captain.
"Oh fine fine fine! I was going to do it my own pace but since everyone is telling me to."
Shuhei takes a deep breath and enters the restaurant.
"Shuhei!" She calls and waves him over.
"Sorry I'm late, how was your day?"
"It was good! I can't believe you got a place like this for us!"
Shuhei sweats a bit and drinks some water before answering. "Yeah me too."
"Ahh little Shuhei is so handsome now." (Your Name) smiles and push the messy part front of his hair away from his eyes.
He blushes and grabs her hands with his. "You've grown to a fine lady also... but you kept your promise."
"What promise?"
"Remember when we were little, I didn't want you to leave me for another man."
(Your Name) laughs and covers her mouth with her free hand and tighten her grip with his hand.
"Of course, why would I want anyone else?"
"I wouldn't want anyone else but you (Your Name)." Shuhei confesses as she drops her smile.
They had been through so much she could see a life with him and he could see a future with her. A future with laughter and happiness where they no longer starved or lived poor.
"I'm making enough money for us and I'm strong enough to protect you now. That means I'm the man I told you I wanted to be and the man you deserve to have."
She chuckles and set their hands down on the table as she rubs it softly.
"Always, I don't see why we wouldn't work out. The future tied us back together."
Shuhei grins like the child he once use to be and boldly kisses her from across the table.
"I've been waiting for this for years, our first kiss."
"And many to come." (Your Name) adds with a blush.
"Okay boys it's very simple okay" Once everyone got off from the bus, you were sent to set up everything for the team, clean clothes, food and even water bottles had to be clean out and put in clean water.
Meanwhile you were gone the boys took the chance to make up a plan so Bokuto won't steal you away. "You guys are exaggerating" Kai mumbles face palming to this dumb act.
"Shut it Kai, I'm with Kuroo, Fukurōdani already has managers and we never had managers before!" Yaku pouted crossing his arms, "you look cute Yaku" Lev smiles making Yaku grumble at him, "watch it" Yaku glares at the tall first year, "what? I didn't call you short" Lev really did it. The team just turned away while Yaku was beating Lev up.
"Guys help!!" "Do you hear something?" Kuroo asks Kai, "nope not a single thing" Kai shook his ignoring the cries of pain that Yaku inflicted on Lev.
Yamamoto was holding his laughter in but turned serious because the plan needed to be done.
"In order to save y/n from Bokuto's disease we have to make sure she doesn't make contact with him" "I agree" Yamamoto nods, "wait what if he is talking to y/n what do we do then? Inouka asks, "duh we lock him into the closet and tell Akaashi afterward" Yamamoto rolled his eyes "good thinking Yamamoto" Kuroo high fives his second year, "do you have anything to say Kenma?" Kuroo asks Kenma who was playing on his DS on the side, "make sure y/n has someone on the team by her side in all time" he sighs rolling his eyes "PERFECT KEMMA" the team claps for his suggesting, "if Bokuto does anything funny come and tell me so I can beat him up" Kuroo tells his team while the 1st years were nodding at their captain, it amazed how Kuroo can make the 1st years follow his instructions.
Teams started to come shortly after Nekoma, of course Nekoma greeted each team that came.
"Long time no see crows” Kuroo and Daichi shakes hands, "it's always great to see you guys" Daichi smiles at Kuroo starting some type of rivalry, crushing each other hands.
Yamamoto was telling Tanaka about you how beautiful and wonderful you were but Tanaka thought it was a joke, "no can be more beautiful then Kiyoko" Tanaka brushed it off making Yamamoto glare at him.
Hinata was jumping up and down searching where you were, "CALM DOWN DUMBASS!" Kageyama shouted at Hinata who kept bumping into him, "wow look at you losing your cool" Tsukishima hissed rolling his eyes at the dumb duo.
You finally come out to meet Karasuno, "Hello nice to meet you Karasuno" You come into the picture which made each of the team shocked, you were something different.
Kageyama’s jaw dropped once he sees you, Hinata was oozing of excitement to talk to you. "Hello" each of them bow , which confused you, "no need to be formal I'm Nekoma's manager I'll be at your service during training camp" you smile wrapping your arm around Kenma who laid his head on you shoulder.
"Wow- You're beautiful!" Nishinoya was all over you asking you so many questions that you couldn't answer.
Kuroo stepped in grabbing Nishinoya's collar and drop kicking him.
"Sorry boys but she's off limits!" Kuroo wraps his arm around your shoulder pulling you towards him, "Yea off limits!" The 1st years shout, "Yea Yea I have to do something inside" you pat Kuroo's chest "I'll see you around Karasuno" you bid goodbye walking into the building.
"She's amazing" Kuroo whispers watching you take your leave flawlessly, turning to face Hinata, "Chibi come here!" Hinata bounces over to Kuroo. "Knowing Bokuto he will come see you first, make sure to tell me he's here" Kuroo explains to the 1st year who was obviously confused. "Why?" "Just because" "okay I will!" It was so easy to convince Hinata to help, meanwhile other teams were drooling over you and Kuroo didn't even make an effort to stop it knowing they wouldn't dare try anything but Bokuto he's a dangerous man.
"Hey guys Fukurōdani is late" You walked up to your team, "they'll be here" that there is more time to make plans for you never get in contact with Bokuto.
"HES HERE!" Hinata dashes into the hall panting. "Huh Hinata are you all right" before he could even answer you, one of the other managers called you over to come help out for bit, "that's my cue I'll see you guys around okay, do your best" you smiled walking out luckily Bokuto was late to see you, a wild Bokuto come in, "hey Kuroo!" Bokuto comes in with a huge smile displayed on his handsome face along with a serious Akaashi trailing behind him.
"Where is y/n?" he pops the question making Kuroo scowl a bit, "She's sick and couldn't make it unfortunately" Kuroo sadly sighs, "oh really" Bokuto pouted a bit in disappointment, "it's okay though you'll see her one day" Kuroo pats his friends back.
Akaashi sighed disappointed that Bokuto really believed Kuroo, "let's go play" Kuroo smirks ushering Bokuto to the court where his happy place was at. You were busy helping out the other female managers unpack, "Our captain Bokuto was really excited to meet you" Yukie grinned at your tiny body that she literally gushed about for 20 minutes to Kaori.
"Huh?" "Oh you haven't met our captain Bokuto" "no I haven't yet" Kaori smiled widely "he couldn't stop talking about you at all, I think it gave the others a headache including Akaashi" Yukie explained giving you an idea, "oh Kuroo has told me about them a few times" you smile to yourself, Kuroo told you that Bokuto once got trapped in the net and made a big mess and the coaches had to cut the net up.
"So it's true what Bokuto said" Kaori grins bouncing a bit, "Tell you what?" "That you are dating Kuroo of course!" Yukie rolled her eyes as she pats your back, "Have you seen the way he looks at you?" Kiyoko joins the conversation, "it's almost looks like he would take a bullet for you" Kiyoko's comment made your heart swell. "I guess we are" you mumble into your jacket, you didn't think what both of you were, you just enjoyed each other's presence instead.
"I guess it's almost dinner time I'll tell the boys dinner is ready" you get off the stool.
"Oh by the way be careful,Bokuto is quite jumpy" Yukie warns, you laughed a bit, "thanks for the heads up" you smiled leaving the room.
"She's beautiful!" Yukie melts to the ground.
You walk into the hot gym where the guys were practicing really hard, "Kuroo dinner is almost ready" you called Nekoma's captain, he instantly catches the ball giving you a smile.
Before you knew it you were picked up from the ground. "You're even stunning up close yet so small but so strong!" A white spiked hair boys grins right at you, you guessed it was Bokuto that Yukie and Kaori were talking about before.
"And you must be Bokuto?" You cock your head to the side, Bokuto almost bursted into joy as he sets you down gently. "OI WHAT DID I TELL YOU!" Kuroo shouts from the back but he was ignored by Bokuto.
"It's really an honor to get to know you y/n" he smiles. "I'm really happy to know you too Bokuto" you pats his shoulder gently.
Kuroo and the rest were pouting, Bokuto will use his dumb charms and take you away from them, "y/n will you g-" before he could say anything Kuroo covers his mouth, "He doesn't know how to read,spell or speak well he came from a different county or planet no one has heard of" Kuroo tells you in order Bokuto won't ask you a dumb ass question.
Leaning to the side "oh really?" You crosses your arms, "it's dinner time, go wash up and meet me at the Cafeteria okay!" You warned your team, giving Bokuto a big smile you leave the gym making Bokuto combust, Kuroo let's him go with cold glare.
"Hey hey Bokuto are you okay?" Konoha pokes his captain who was frozen like stone. "He'll snap out of it lets go eat" Fukurōdani leaves the gym first leaving their poor captain alone, Kuroo pushed him slightly. Bokuto instantly snaps out of it, "Okay bye Kuroo have to make moves on y/n!" Bokuto bounce out the gym to cafeteria left Kuroo Dumfounded.
"You DAMN OWL!"
As everyone has washed up a bit, all the managers started to attend to the teams , you of course attended Nekoma, filling their cups with water and even cracking up some jokes.
Looking around the room, you realized that Fukurōdani had empty cups.
Yukie and Kaori were very busy you decided to help.
"Hello guys" you greet them before you could fill their cups Lev and Inouka stopped you from it, "They can do it y/n they have hands" they shoo you off to the kitchen, shrugging it off you leave to the kitchen. The 1st years made sure to glare at a pouting Bokuto.
For the next few days of training camp, Nekoma was overprotective over you, you didn't really notice and sometimes you did but you thought maybe every team was protective of their managers. Every time Bokuto wanted to help you Yaku or Lev would already done it for you, Bokuto tries to feed you food, Inouka already got it covered even Hinata chipped in, like when Bokuto jogged with you in the morning Hinata is already next to you pushing Bokuto off the hill where he just rolls in confusion.
Whenever Bokuto tries to flirt with you Kuroo pushes him or drops kicks him whenever.
One night you couldn't sleep and decided to sit outside for a bit. "Y/n" Kuroo was behind you softly calling out your name, "Tetsu" You mumble, "Hey" he sat next to you, “can’t sleep?” “Nope”
You were about to ask something but you felt some cold water splash you, “BOKUTO!” Kuroo shouts, you bursted out laughing once you see Kuroo soaked in cold water, “I hope that’s refreshing!” Bokuto runs off, “oi!” Kuroo drops his phone on to the ground almost breaking it dashing where Bokuto ran off to.
“Kuroo be careful!” You whisper shout as you heard Bokuto scream for mercy. “Ugggg I tried to stop him” a sleepy Akaashi plops down next to you, “they’ll be fine just watch and enjoy”
You watch Bokuto burst into laughter as Kuroo gently punches him “this what get you damn owl!”
“Bokuto is just doing this to bother Kuroo” “oh I know Bokuto already told me two day ago” you smile widely, “so like you’re fine with this?” “I guess” you two watch Bokuto and Kuroo playfully wrestle with each till the coaches scolds them for making so much noise.
In end they got scolded and you just dried Kuroo’s hair. “You should’ve been quiet” “Yea Yea I know, now we have to get up at five a.m to jog” Kuroo pouts obviously angry at Bokuto, making you smile a bit. You gently held his face into your hands. “You know he’s joking about asking me out” “WHAT?” “Shhh you’ll get yelled at again and yes he wanted to tease you” you reveal the truth of Bokuto’s dumb plan.
“Stupid owl” he hisses as he nuzzles his cheeks onto your palm. “Let’s go to bed you have a long day ahead of you” pulling his face closer to you. You gently give him a kiss on the side of his mouth barely touching his lips.
“Goodnight Tesu” “Good night y/n” you disappear in the darkness leaving a happy Kuroo behind.
Where I’m Meant to Be | Stucky | Meet-Cute, Slow Burn, Friends to Lovers, Kid Fic, No powers AU | Chapters 7/? | total 29k words | Ao3
Summary: Bucky is a single dad coming back from a work trip with a very bored, very whiney 7-year-old girl. A mysterious stranger with a kind heart and a notebook full of doodles comes to the rescue.
A/N: It's been... so long since I've updated this fic. I'm sorry but life got in the way and I couldn't bring myself to write anything. Here I come with apologies and hopes that you haven't forgotten about the adventures of Bucky, Alex and Steve. I'm gonna treat you with the longest chapter I've ever written (it's like 5.3k). I hope you'll like it, I got a bit carried away and my space-nerdiness is showing every now and then.
The chapters will probably come very irregularly from now on but I'll try my best not to have too long gaps between each update. I love you all and — as always — thank you so, so much for your continuous support. I cherish every single reader, every single like and every single comment you leave here :')
Chapter 7
(5.2k)
When Monday rolls around, Bucky faces New York’s chilly morning as he makes his way to work. It’s been only a few days since he got sick, but he feels significantly better now. His nose might still be stuffed and his throat might feel a bit scratchy, but he is mostly fine. No more coughing fits, no more fever. And it’s not like he could say no when his boss called him to check how he was doing and ask if he’d be able to come by before Christmas to do some required maintenance work.
But it’s fine, since the work at the Institute has slowed down, many people have already taken their days off for the Christmas break. It’s calmer than usual and Bucky can do whatever he’s supposed to do in peace.
It's a bit past noon and Bucky's mindlessly staring at the progress bar on his screen and enjoys his coffee. The peace and quiet — excluding his Christmas playlist playing in the background — is disturbed by the ringing of his phone. Slightly startled, Bucky looks around, searching for the device. After a quick glance at the screen, he answers the call.
"Hi, Buck!" Steve says, his voice soft and warm. "I hope I didn't wake you up or anything. Just wanted to check up on you, see how you're feeling."
"That's very sweet of you," Bucky says, his lips spreading in a smile. "And I'm fine, thank you. Currently waiting for the data backup to finish so you've disrupted my staring contest with the progress bar."
Steve doesn't appreciate the joke. Instead, he asks, "You're at work?" After receiving an affirmative hum, he lets out a slightly annoyed huff. "Why? You should still be in bed! Three days ago you've been barely able to get up for longer than 10 minutes. You should still rest, Buck."
"It's been six days ago, thank you very much," Bucky answers. "And I'm fine, Steve. I promise. I wouldn't come if I was still feeling sick, but the fever's been gone for a few days," two but Steve doesn't have to know that, "and I'm not coughing anymore. I'm as fit as a fiddle."
"I can hear you sniffle."
"It's the allergies," Bucky lies and that makes Steve laugh, although a bit exasperated.
"You're horrible," he says. "Bet you haven't even eaten breakfast or drink enough water or like... didn’t even wear a hat even though you’re sick."
"I did have a toast while I ran to catch the train. And now I'm having coffee for lunch. And it’s not even that cold."
An honest-to-God gasp escapes Steve's mouth after he hears that. Of course he's a Mr. Healthy Lifestyle, Bucky shouldn't even be surprised.
"How are you even functioning? You gotta take care of yourself, Buck."
Bucky's heart skips a bit. It's nice to have someone worry about him. Even if he's being dragged in the meantime. And it was nice when Steve took care of him and Alex back when Bucky was too sick to do this. Of course, he has people who do that. Clint, Tasha, Scott -- he can always count on them. But somehow it feels different with Steve. Steve hasn't been around for years like the others, he's known Bucky for just a few months and he still decided to offer his kindness and care. This thought made Bucky's heart do somersaults in his chest.
So did the fact that Steve had a nickname to Bucky's nickname. And he's been using it a lot. Bucky really likes it.
"I'm functioning very well, thank you. And so is Alex, because I'm not as hopeless in taking care of her, luckily," Bucky chuckles. Before Steve can't say anything, Bucky adds, "Besides, I've been able to survive 28 years like this so don't be overdramatic. No need to go all mother hen on me."
"Oh, you think this is overdramatic?" Steve asks, amused. "You clearly don't know what me being overdramatic is, pal. This is just some simple, friendly check-in."
"Okay, now I'm kinda curious," Bucky says. His cheeks hurt from smiling so much. "Hypothetically, what would one have to do to see what is Steve Rogers's definition of overdramatic?"
It makes Steve let out another laugh. "Careful what you wish for, Buck." It sounds like Steve wants to say something else but there's some noise in the background and his voice becomes distant and inaudible for a moment. When he comes back, he says with a sigh, "Sorry 'bout that. I need to go back to work. I'm glad you're feeling better but eat a proper meal or I'll hunt you down."
"Oh, so no mother hen anymore, were going straight to threats, okay." Bucky nods to himself and Steve huffs out a laugh. "Thanks for the call, Steve. It's very sweet of you. Have a nice day."
"You, too. Say hi to Alex from me."
"I will. Bye, Steve."
.
A small smile is still present on Bucky's face when a few hours later he's picking Alex up from school. It grows bigger when she runs towards him down the stairs, her haphazardly wrapped scarf fluttering behind her. He takes a moment to tuck it properly and then takes Alex's backpack from her.
“How was school today?” Bucky asks as they head home.
“Fine. We played soccer and I scored once!” Alex answers proudly. “Even Adrian didn’t and he’s very good. Maya didn’t want to play ‘cause she says girls shouldn’t play soccer.”
“Jokes on her, because we have a women’s national soccer team and they’re the best. They’re the world champions.”
A gasps escapes Alex’s mouth. “Really? That’s so cool! I want to be a soccer player when I grow up!”
“Not a ballerina, anymore?” Bucky asks, with a small smile.
“No, I’m gonna be a ballerina but I’m gonna play soccer sometimes, too. But that’s after I’ll fly to the moon!”
Bucky only nods and grins at her. He wouldn’t be surprised in the least if she actually pulled that off in the future. There weren’t many things that could stop her since she decided upon something.
“How’s space?” Alex asks, swinging their hands back and forth.
Bucky chuckles. It’s a bit of a tradition at this point. He doesn’t really remember how it started but now she never asks him “how’s work” but it’s always “how’s space?”. Personally, Bucky loves it. It makes him feel like he’s doing much cooler things that he really does.
“Pretty boring, sadly,” he admits. “Didn’t have much to do today and many people are on their breaks so no fun space facts to share today. I chatted on the phone with Steve and he wanted me to say hi to you.”
“Oh, is he coming over today?”
Slightly confused with the question, Bucky shakes his head. “No, he’s not. We just talked on the phone. Why?”
“I don’t know, I thought you liked Steve.”
“Well, I do. I like uncle Scott too but we don’t hang out with him every day, either. Steve has his own life and stuff to do, so we shouldn’t bother him all the time.”
Alex makes a small hum and Bucky’s not sure if it’s a dismissive or an agreeing one. After a moment, she adds, “I bet he wouldn’t mind though. He told me he really likes you.”
“What? When?” The revelation almost makes Bucky stop in the middle of the pavement. The biggest surprise is not that Steve likes him, Bucky has figured out this much after all those times they’ve hung out together. What really takes him aback is that apparently his daughter and Steve are having conversations about him when he’s not there.
“When you were sick and Steve went to ballet class with me. I told him he’s cool and I’m happy you have him so you’re not so lonely. And he said he thinks we’re really cool too and that he likes us a lot.”
This time Bucky slows down and eventually stops. There’s a furrow between his brows when he looks at Alex.
“Why would you think I’m lonely, munchkin? I’m not, I have you and mama, uncle Clint and Scott. And now Steve. I’m more than fine.”
“Well… Okay, maybe I didn’t mean lonely. But sometimes when you have a lot to do and you worry and mama or uncle Clint are busy you do this—” Alex furrows her brows and pouts, apparently imitating a worried Bucky “and you’re quiet and worried. And now you smile even more than you did. You smile all the time when you text Steve.”
For a moment, Bucky only gapes at her, not sure how to react. That’s a lot of information coming at once from his 7-year-old daughter.
“I’m— Well, I’m okay, even if I worry sometimes. And I couldn’t be lonely, having such a sweet little munchkin by my side,” he smiles, bopping her on the nose and getting a smile in return. “But thank you for caring about me, sweetheart. I love you to the moon and back.”
“And I love you to Jupiter!” she answers.
“But not back?” Bucky raises an eyebrow.
“Nah, it’s already so far away, it’s enough.”
The conversation with Alex stays in Bucky’s head for the rest of the day. It’s gnawing at him enough that before he goes to bed, he takes out his phone and calls Natasha.
“How’s my favourite co-parent doing?” she greets.
“Do you have any more co-parents?” Bucky asks instead of answering.
“Nope. That’s what makes you my favourite.” Bucky only sighs so she continues. “Did something happen? You’re usually in the mood for late night conversation when something’s on your mind.”
There’s no point in denying it since Natasha would see right through him. “It’s nothing bad. Apparently Alex thinks I’m lonely.”
“Well, she’s not wrong.”
“What? Tasha, no. I’m not lonely, where did you two get that idea?”
“James, it’s not my fault that you’re an idiot. I know that you have people who love you around. You know that, too. But I know and you also should know — but here’s the ‘idiot’ part — that it might not be enough sometimes. And I’m pretty sure we’ve had a similar conversation like a month ago, so I don’t know why you act all surprised now.”
“Remind me, why did I even call you?”
“Because I am incredible and you value my opinion like no one else’s and also you love me deeply,” Natasha explains dutifully.
Bucky huffs out a laugh as he sits heavily on the side of his bed. His eyes land on the comic from Steve, still laying on Bucky’s bedside table, propped against the lamp. “Sounds fake, but okay.”
“Did our daughter have any more revelations for you?” Natasha asks.
“Well…,” Bucky hesitates for a moment. “She and Steve gossip about me when I’m not around. And apparently I’ve been smiling more lately. But that’s about it.”
Natasha hums but even through the phone Bucky can hear that she’s rather amused.
"What?" Bucky asks.
"I didn't say anything!"
"I can hear you laughing, just say whatever mean thing you're going to say and let's get this over with."
"I'm not gonna say anything mean! I was just wondering when we'd mention Steve in this conversation," she chuckles. "But really. Even your daughter can see that a relationship would be good for you. And that you like Steve a lot. Why not kill two birds with one Steve?"
Bucky sighs. "Because one Steve is also enough to kill this friendship we have."
"Why do you always just automatically assume that things will get fucked? It doesn't have to be the case. I'm serious, you'd better take a grip on yourself and ask him out or I'm back in three days and I'll do this for you. And I'll be as obnoxious and embarrassing for you as I can."
That's actually a pretty horrible threat. She would do that. And it would be both mortifying and horrible to experience for all the involved parties — maybe except Natasha. Bucky laughs, trying to imagine it, but the laugh is short-lived.
"Come on, Nat," Bucky starts after a moment, getting serious. "Steve is great and it's great having him around. But what if I make a move and he's not interested? I don't want to freak him out. Or remember that message I accidentally saw on his computer? He might be seeing someone already or be interested in someone else," Bucky pinches the bridge of his nose. "Plus, I know from experience that no matter how much he might seem to like me, a guy with a kid can turn out to be a bit much for people. I don't want to get hurt. I don't want Alex to get hurt. She adores Steve and I don't know if I can risk it."
"But I'm telling you, nobody's getting hurt anytime soon," Natasha chimes in. "You're overthinking, Yasha. Those are all valid concerns but you know what the counterargument is?" She takes a small break but she's not expecting Bucky to respond. "Steve's a good guy. He likes you. He likes Alex. He came to a primary school dance recital after knowing you for like a week just because you and Alex asked him to. Even if he doesn't want a relationship, it doesn’t mean that your friendship has to end. From all you've told me, he doesn't seem like the kind to trample on your hearts like this. Give yourself some time, but promise me you're gonna think about it, okay? And call me if you work yourself up into an anxious mess again, okay?”
“I will try not to be an anxious mess, but I’ll let you know. And I’ll think about it. Thanks, Tasha.” Bucky says.
“I love you no matter what, you dumbfuck. Bye.”
Bucky barely manages to say it back before she hangs up. He shakes his head with a small smile and retrieves his charger cable from behind the bedside table. As he plugs his phone, he accidentally knocks down the drawing from Steve. He picks it up, staring at the soft lines for who-knows-which time. His thumb gently traces the “Get well soon, Buck! x” scribbled at the bottom.
Looking at it, Bucky imagines the moment when Steve was writing it down. In his mind, he sees both Steve and Alexandra at the kitchen table, both leaning over their respective pieces of paper, focused on whatever they’re drawing. They are smiling, chatting about whatever common interest they’ve currently discovered. It’s a very nice picture. Enough to make Bucky’s heart ache.
Because Natasha is right. This is exactly what Bucky craves and what he’s been ignoring for years. That domesticity, that warm feeling one gets when looking at someone they care about. That happiness. He can almost imagine himself joining the picture he’s created in his head, walking over to that table and dropping a kiss first on Alex’s head and then on Steve’s, before he starts preparing the dinner. It feels right.
Maybe it’s not usual to imagine this calm, family life with someone he’s not even in a relationship with. Most people probably think of tons of other things, things that are not so… settled. Not as serious. Sometimes they never reach this part. But Bucky has figured a while ago that it doesn’t really work for him. He already has a family. And this family means everything and more to him. If he ever was to date, he has to make sure that the person would fit into his and Alexandra’s life. He has to skip ahead to make sure it’s worth going through the dates and the passion and all the work a relationship requires, without it all ending in a heartbreak. But Steve…
Steve fits so well into this picture, it scares Bucky a bit. Because this would be even harder to let go, if things didn't work out.
It's pretty clear, now that he allows himself to think about it, that he has some feelings for Steve. Besides the friendliness and sympathy, that is. They're the romantic kind and they're still fresh and shy but they're here. And Bucky has absolutely no clue how to deal with them. It's not even that surprising, he realises. Because how could he not catch feelings for Steve? For the kindest, most thoughtful and most selfless person in the world? For someone with his heart made of gold, who always knows how to make Bucky laugh? Someone who gets so passionate about the things he loves and just as much about the ones he despises? Who cares deeply, laughs with his whole body and who next to all this softness and kindness, is also a stubborn little asshole? Who — and this is the most important of all — adores Alex and whom she adores just as much?
Bucky's heart was a lost cause from the start.
Steve has a lot of qualities that Bucky would fall for if he looked for a partner. And that he accidentally might have fallen for anyway. And that's all without even mentioning that Steve is so ridiculously attractive that it might've skewed Bucky's view on beauty forever.
The point is — Natasha is right. That this could be a good thing. They could be a good thing. But what they have now is already good and Bucky really values this friendship. He isn't sure if pursuing a hypothetical picture in his head is worth putting it at risk. Because he still can't be sure if Steve's interested. For what Bucky knows, he's kind and caring towards all of his friends. It doesn't mean that Bucky and Alex are special.
He can almost hear Natasha's voice in his head, calling him an idiot and yelling that he won't know until he tries. Which is right, since Natasha always is. It doesn't help him stop the — partially excited but mostly terrified — somersaults his insides make. With a small sigh, he puts the drawing on its place by the lamp, flicks off the lights and burrows himself under the covers. He doesn't have to have everything figured out straight away. Letting himself even consider it is a big enough step for now, he decides as he drifts off to sleep.
.
The next day is Bucky's last day at work before the Christmas break. He doesn't really have much to do, just finishing some last updates and dealing with whatever paperwork he was putting off earlier. Most of the time, he chats with Scott, who has been wandering aimlessly around the institute for the lack of work and eventually landed in Bucky's tiny office. They've been chatting about their Christmas plans — nothing too elaborate for both of them, just simple time at home with their families — and now they started discussing where they should go to grab some lunch. Just as Bucky almost convinced Scott that they should go to this sushi place down the block instead of the Italian place, there's a knock on the door.
Bucky sends his friend a confused look.
"It wasn't me," Scott raises his hands in defence.
"Come in," Bucky calls after another second passes. It's probably someone having a last-minute computer problem or one of his co-workers wanting to drop by with Christmas wishes.
Except, when the door cracks open, Steve's head pokes in. Its hair is messy, its cheeks reddened from the cold and its lips spread in a smile.
"Hi, Buck. And hi Scott, it's nice to see you again," he says. "I'm not interrupting?"
And because Bucky's brain is still processing the fact that for some reason Steve's come to visit him at work, Scott's the one who says, "Not at all, come in."
Steve hesitates for another second. Bucky's brain finally kicks in and he smiles which is apparently the invitation Steve needed, because he finally fully walks into the office.
"Hi, Steve. I didn't expect you here," Bucky says, his smile growing bigger.
"Well, you should. Because after our talk yesterday, I decided to bring you lunch," Steve says, proudly showing a big paper bag in his hand. "I told you you haven't seen shit, and especially not overdramatic me."
This makes Bucky laugh out loud as he shakes his head in disbelief. How is Steve even real?
Scott is watching them with a slightly confused but endeared smile on his face. Before anyone can say anything, he gets up from the chair, slapping his thighs as he does.
"Okay then, I'll leave you to it," he says, walking towards the door.
"There's plenty to share, if you want to join us," Steve offers, because of course he does. His gold-heartedness wouldn't have it any other way.
But Scott only shakes his head at that. "Nah, I'm in the mood for some sushi today. Thanks, though."
"Asshole," Bucky narrows his eyes at Scott. "I hope you'd choke on it."
His friend only laughs at that, "Enjoy your lunch date! It's been great to see you, Steve. Merry Christmas."
"You too, Scott. Say hi to Hope and Cassie from me."
With one last grin aimed at Bucky — and a very pointed look behind Steve's back — Scott leaves them alone. Bucky tries not to dwell on the fact that Steve didn't even bat an eye when Scott called it a lunch date.
"Why should he choke?" Steve asks with a chuckle.
"I've been trying to talk him into going to that sushi place for almost twenty minutes before you came," Bucky sighs and then notices that Steve is still hovering by the door. "Come on, take your coat off and sit down. I can't believe you've brought me lunch."
Steve shrugs off his coat and leaves it on the hanger by the door, next to Bucky's. Today he's wearing a maroon sweater that really suits him and a pair of dark jeans. He pushes his sleeves up before he digs into the bag and Bucky tries not to stare too obviously.
"Someone's got to make sure you eat, since after yesterday I've gotten an idea you're not good at it yourself," Steve says. "Guess it wasn't necessary. Sadly, I don't have sushi but maybe you're in the mood for Thai?"
"Depends on whether you've brought me the dumplings or not," Bucky answers.
Steve laughs in response and takes out one of the boxes and hands it to Bucky. "I did. I also have green curry for you? I hope I remembered correctly that you like it? If not, I'm sorry, we can switch—"
"Steve." Bucky says solemnly, placing his hand on Steve's forearm, to stop him from fumbling with the food. "You not only brought me food but you remembered my favourite after I mentioned it one time. You are an angel. You should hide it better, because you make us mortals look bad."
He's only half joking. Steve does seem like a higher being of some sorts and it's unfair that Bucky's poor heart is supposed to handle it. It doesn't do a great job. Especially not when Steve laughs, his eyes crinkle so much they turn into thin slits.
"And I am the overdramatic one?" Steve asks, unpacking the last things and finally sitting on the chair across from Bucky. He's still smiling but there's a blush colouring his cheeks and creeping down his neck.
Bucky bites the inside of his cheek to contain a grin but the truth is, he's immensely proud of himself for pulling this reaction out of Steve. To stop himself from saying something stupid, he digs into his food.
"By the way, how did you find me here?" Bucky asks, his tongue sticking out a bit in concentration as he fishes for a dumpling with his chopsticks.
"Clara let me know where your office is, she was very helpful."
Bucky furrows his brows. The surprise makes him drop his dumpling back into the container. "Clara, as in Clara Oswald, our receptionist? How do you know her?"
"I don't. We've chatted for a few minutes and I explained why I'm here and she told me how to get to you."
"Ah, of course it took you about five minutes to charm her and get into a government building just like that," Bucky chuckles.
"I didn't charm anyone! I just politely asked and she helped!"
If it wasn't Steve, Bucky would take it as fake modesty. But the truth is that Steve really seems to be completely oblivious to the effect he has on people. It’s endearing to see him do this.
"So here's when you do your cool space stuff?" Steve asks, changing the subject.
"Here's when the real scientists come searching for help when there's some IT-related issue," Bucky corrects him. "I don't do anything cool. I make sure all the data is where it's supposed to be and that whatever equipment they need is ready and working properly. Or part of it, Scott's an engineer and he takes care of the rest. I do get to read some space facts first hand, though."
"That's still cool space stuff for me," Steve shrugs with a small smile. "What kinds of things are you researching here? Like some particular aspects of outer space, or—?"
Normally Bucky would just give the shortest answer possible. People usually get bored quickly when he starts talking about it. But something in the genuine interest on Steve's face, the way he is looking around the office — which is nothing special, the only nice things are the sky maps and some spaced themed art  — makes Bucky think that maybe Steve wouldn't mind getting the longer answer.
"Well, we mostly study the weather. Both the Earth's and the one in the solar system, like the solar winds and magnetic storms, stuff like that. We study exoplanets and try to discover or guess as much as we can about them," Bucky says. "I helped to create simulations that predicted how they could look like and develop, to see if there's a possibility to inhabit them. We did it by basically dumping all the data we have into an elaborate computer programme and waiting to see what comes out." Bucky laughs and Steve does too, but he has the look of utter fascination on his face as he listens. "And all this helps with some more down-to-earth stuff — pun not intended. Like, we've done tons of studies in climate change."
"That's—," Steve starts when he makes sure that Bucky's done. "All of this sounds incredible. And you're a part of all those amazing things, how great is that?"
Bucky feels that his cheeks start to burn. There's another reason he usually sticks with the short answer. As much as he's proud to be working here and as much as he loves it, the impostor in him always makes sure that he understands the difference between his work and the actual research, analysis and all the heavy lifting that the astronomers do. He helps, of course he does. He does a great job at it, but there's still a difference. And such praise usually makes him squirm uncomfortably.
"And don't even try to get all modest with me again," Steve warns as if he's been reading Bucky's mind. "You've said that you don't do cool space stuff and then admitted that you've helped to create a program to imagine how exoplanets can look and change. So I know you're full of bullshit."
Steve raises an eyebrow in what's supposed to be an unimpressed look but it's not even close. The smile and the curious, bright eyes that are stating right at Bucky are destroying the effect. The blush on Bucky's cheeks only deepens, especially as Steve adds. "I've been impressed before but— Wow. Really, you guys are doing such incredible things here, I can’t wrap my head around it."
"We really do," Bucky agrees, eventually.
The beaming smile Steve sends him feels like a reward Bucky didn't know he deserves.
"So you've always liked space? Or was it an accident that brought you here?" Steve asks.
"No, I've always loved it. It's just so fascinating and there's always so much more to learn about it," Bucky doesn't even try to hide his excitement. "I've never fully understood all the science behind it but I loved staring at the sky, trying to find all those constellations and planets and galaxies. I've figured a way to somehow connect it to what I was good at and make it my job. Which is amazing. But now I mostly stare at the computer screen instead of the stars. "
He doesn't want to sound ungrateful but he must admit that it does kill some of the fun. But not even the astronomers simply state up at the sky to admire the view.
Steve only nods in response. "Alex mentioned that you guys went on a trip out of town to watch the stars. It must've been great."
"We did! It was like… almost 2 years ago, I think? I borrowed one of those fancy telescopes they have here. I needed to pick Alex up every time, cause she was too small to reach it," Bucky laughs as he brings out the memories. "It was fun, we should do that again, sometime. But I don't have much time now, so it’ll have to wait."
"It does sound great," Steve smiles that soft smile again. "I hope you'd find some time as it gets warm enough for such trips. I bet Alex would be delighted."
"Yeah. I'll let you know if that happens, in case you'd like to join," Bucky says before he can think better of it.
There's more of the childlike excitement on Steve's face as Bucky mentions it so maybe it wasn't that bad of an idea.
An actual bad idea comes out of Bucky's mouth a bit later, just as Steve is getting ready to head out. Bucky's lunch break is long gone and forgotten, because it's been two hours that Steve spent here. He apologises for staying so long and the assurances that Bucky didn't have any more work to do doesn't help.
"I'm sorry for taking your mind away from your responsibilities, but it was great spending time with you," Steve says.
So of course, because Bucky's heart doesn't get any chance to regroup, he doesn't have time to think before he blurts out. "We should have dinner together."
It's certainly not something Steve was expecting to hear. He just stares at Bucky. Before he has a chance to say anything, Bucky continues, "I mean. You should come for dinner. Clint and Nat are always around for a dinner, sometime between Christmas and New Year's. If you don't have any plans, it would be great if you came. But it's okay if you can't or don't want to."
Another moment passes and Bucky tries not to squirm under Steve's gaze. Luckily, Steve finally blinks and smiles as he says, "No, Buck, of course I'd love to come! I don't have any particular plans, will probably hang out with Sam for most of the break but I'll have plenty of time."
"You could take Sam with you," Bucky adds. He desperately tries to regain the control of his own mouth. "It'd be great to finally meet him."
"I'll let him know, I bet he’d be happy to come, too. Thanks again for the invite," Steve smiles as he cracks open the door. With a little wave, he walks out of the office. "Bye, Buck. Have a nice day."
"You too, Steve," Bucky says to the already closing door.
When Steve's gone, Bucky exhales heavily through his mouth as he leans back in his chair. Both of his hands go up to thread through his hair, tugging at it lightly.
Apparently, he has a dinner to prepare.
Of kidnappers, boyfriends & a bit of fire
Damon Salvatore x reader
Tumblr media
"Where the hell is Stefan?"
You heard Damon -your boyfriend- cursing next to you.
Like that was his biggest problem in this situation.
Well, it WOULD be easier if Stefan were here but he's currently searching for his girlfriend miss Elena Gilbert who happened to be kidnapped again by some wannabe Vampires craving for her doppelgänger blood.
And now it was just Damon and you in this creepy house in the middle of nowhere. Well, plus a few uninvited others...
"There are like seven vampires trying to kill us right now, Damon, what should we do?" You mumbled under your breath even though you knew that everyone could hear you clearly.
"Actually, it's more like eleven," Damon commented not showing the tiniest bit of concern.
"Oh, sorry I wasn't specific enough!"
"You're forgiven," he simply said and pushed you softly behind him so you were now standing back to back surrounded by creatures who looked like they couldn't wait to rip you apart.
"And about your question-hey!"
Damon gave you an scandalised gaze as you interrupted him just so rudely mid his sentence by punching one Vampire straight in the face.
"Attack is the best defence, darling."
You commented with a small laugh, but immediately went back to seriousness when your opponent tried to stab you with a knife.
Damn it!
Now they were all attacking at once.
'Show time, baby' you thought cracking your knuckles.
"Really? And who told you so?" Asked Damon from behind you, obviously implying on the multiple times he used this sentence during on of your training sessions.
"My Grandmother, a lovely person, really."
For a second you saw him rolling his eyes in annoyance before you bend down to avoid a punch of a vampire who clearly seemed too young to be stuck in this mess.
You had been fighting back to back all this time, defending or just mocking each other but now it seemed like you were forced to yield in a room across this one.
Now it was you alone, having three vampires simultaneously to watch out for.
Great. Just great.
Suddenly you gasped as you felt a heavy pain in your back which caused you to stumble a few steps forward.
Bastards!
Right into the arms of... Jack? Was this the name of the creep?
"Not that tough without your boyfriend, are you, honey?" he whispered in your ear.
His awful breath made you nearly throw up.
Never heard of tooth care?
"Who are you serving, you morons?" You asked through gritted teeth.
"Who are we... who are we serving?"
Jack repeated obviously very amused by your question and even the other two next to him joined him with dirty laughs.
"Honey, you know what that dumb girl is capable of? Or rather her blood? We are serving no one but ourselves and soon we will rise up to the top."
"Sadly you won't be alive until then," added the other one and polished his knife with joyful anticipation.
You rolled your eyes in annoyance.
Please, world domination was such a cliché.
"Yes, very sad," you commented just before you swung your left knee right into Jack's soft parts causing him to bend over in pain.
You used his state to break his neck, then turned around to the other two.
"So, who's next?"
A few minutes went by until Stefan appeared at the door frame finding you completely covered in blood and surrounded by three dead Vampires.
"You are late," You stated and stepped over Jack's life less body.
Stefan looked alerted into the room as if he expected more vampires to appear any second out of nothing. Then he answered a little distracted, "I've got Elena."
Wonderful, finally we could leave this god damn house and go home.
"Great and where is she?"
"Right here- damn it!" He cursed when he noticed that there was, in fact, no Elena standing beside him anymore.
"You're kidding right?"
Well, obviously he wasn't, you thought when Stefan turned around with widened eyes, searching once again for his beloved one.
"Elena?!"
Sighting in frustration you decided to follow him out of the room into the hallway.
Already standing there Damon gave you a relieved smile when he saw that you were unharmed.
"Hey, there," he stated and put his arm around your shoulder.
"Hi.." you whispered before both of you suddenly stopped in your motions.
"Careful." On the other side of the hallways was Elena, unfortunately also a man who held a knife at her throat.
"One wrong move and she's dead," he threatened. The pure madness in his eyes made him appear like he was barely getting by.
Poor guy.
Stefan made a few slow steps forward, carefully lifting his hands in a sign of piece.
"Please give us the girl and we will spare your life. You will be free to go."
"Oh, Common that's bullshit!" Damon exclaimed clearly annoyed and pissed right now.
In one quick move he broke the wooden clothes rack next to him in two halfs and before you could even registered his toss it was already sticking in the man's shoulder -very, very close to Elena's face.
"Damon!" Stefan shouted angrily apparently not too found of his move.
But neither Damon nor you paid him attention, instead you used the opportunity of the man's distraction to grab the other half of the clothes rack and stick it right into the vampire's heart.
His whole body was turning grey in the next moment and veins appeared visible on his skin before the vampire fell on the ground with widened eyes and a open mouth- his last shout of pain never appeared.
Dead.
Stefan ran to Elena and pulled her into a safe embrace. "Are you okay?"
The girl nodded while starting a little uncomfortable at the dead vampire on the ground before her gaze met Damon and you.
"Thanks ...for the rescue," Elena mumbled a little shaken.
"We should go now."
You turned to Damon giving him a proud high five and an nod of approval only to notice that Stefan and Elena were already gone.
Or rather already sitting in the car as you saw when you also appeared at the door.
"I'll drive Elena home," Stefan shouted out of the open car window.
"But I'll come again to help cleaning up."
"Yeah, sure you will", murmured Damon next to you clearly not believing a word his brother had said.
"Oh and in the other side of the house was a car if I've seen right. You could use it later to drive home," added blondie just before closing the door and starting the motor.
Damon snorted. "Told so, that jerk is not coming back."
He went inside again while you watched the car vanishing in between the trees, a litte jealous of Elena because she could go home, to a bad waiting for her.
Gosh, it was two in the morning! Why do kidnappers always have to come that late?
When you turned around you saw Damon pouring gasoline out of a a container on the furniture and the ground.
Sceptically you raised your eyebrow. "You want to burn the house down?"
"Fastest way to get rid of everything, eh?" He answered before tossing the empty container inside again. "Do you have fire for me?"
"No...," you answered slowly. "But I'm sure you have."
Damon stopped a moment, apparently the lack of sleep was also effecting him.
"Right...come on, let's go out of here."
He took your hand leading you a through the door before he threw a fire lighter out of his pocket on the floor.
Immediately a trace of fire started to make its way through the hallways catching everything that stood in the way.
In a few seconds the whole house will be completely on fire and when the police arrives they will only find remains.
Damon closed the door.
Then with a smirk he put his hand on your waist while you took yours on his shoulder, playing with his dark hair.
"What are we going to do now, completely alone?"
"Well," he started giving you his typical Damon face. "On the ride over here I've noticed this beautiful lake; We could wash our blood and all of the dirt away..."
You hummed, pretending to be deep in thoughts. "Sounds tempting."
You grinned when Damon bend his head down pulling you into a kiss.
-Until he suddenly picked you up in bride style giving you a devilish smirk. "Let's see where this certain lake is, shall we?"
