i LOVE the recurring theme of luffy entrusting his straw hat to nami, it's such a beautiful action that shows how much he cares and trusts her, and it all started from orange town where Nami was the one to understand how important the hat is to him and offered to fix it for him

When I say sanji falls hard i mean he falls HARD homies!!
My fighter pilot au is also a modern au, so during the 2 years sanji and zoro are apart they constantly talk on the phone. Zoro hates texting so sanji will go out of his way to call zoro when they both have a break.
Their conversations last hours. Theyre not always talking but sanji is content with the comfortable silence that also makes up their calls as well. He just likes being with zoro in any way he can be until theyre able to meet again.
When its not silence zoro is talking about his family mihawk and perona, or the lessons he's taking (which zoro refuses to tell sanji what they are), or the unclassified information on the assignments he's been doing. Sanji talks about his mandatory leave where he goes back home and helps zeff with the baratie. He complains about his old man while also talking about how much he missed cooking. They talk about things other than work for probably the first time since that night sanji woke up with a panic attack a few years ago.
During these two years, sanji learns so much about zoro and he feels loved at the same time in zoro's own unusual way. In return, zoro learns more about sanji and basks in getting to be with sanji even if theyre on opposite sides of the world.
Unfortunately, their comrades are suffering by watching them be hopelessly in love to the point where it feels like experiencing second hand embaressment. Sanji SUCKS at flirting and zoro wouldnt even know someone was flirting with him even if it hit him square in the face with a 50 pound brick.
Nami and Usopp are betting on who confesses first. Luffy couldnt care less about the betting but still likes to be a supportive friend and participates anyways. Robin and Franky dont bet money but talk about it as well. Regardless, the majority vote that Sanji will confess first, even if it'll probably be the worst confession anyone's ever heard in their life.
Like you think these two idiots know anything about romance? Absolutely Not. They're in their early 20's and spent most of their life growing up too fast and having to survive more than live.
So when during those two years, the second year is maybe one assignment and mostly being sitting ducks at their respective bases they stay at, sanji and zoro talk more and more about their other dreams. They start to learn how to live, slowly but surely through each other, despite being oceans apart.
Flirting between them is useless, but opening up and baring their souls to each other isn't. When you put two guarded men together with walls up, it can either end in tragedy like betrayal or in them tearing down each others walls.
When Sanji bears his soul to Zoro, he understands for the second time how much he cant live without him. How much he truely wishes he could at least look at zoro face to face and trace all the scars on his skin with reverence and adoration.
Sanji's heart aches more and more as the two years pass by. The next time they call, though, his heart nearly stops when he hears zoro's voice still raspy from waking up so late in the morning for the Nth time that week to hear him say in fucking french by the way, dear god sanji isnt gonna be able to survive this any longer now.
"Good morning, Sanji"

Also, we’re in the endgame, meaning close to the end that he gave romance hints between Sanji x Pudding, Zoro x Hiyori, Franky X Robin(the caress and the motorbike ride scene) those are fairly recent as well. That’s that. Usopp has Kaya back home. Chopper has that Mink. Brook doesn’t need anyone. Cause he is a skeleton. Luffy I believe promised Hancock and Amazon Lily that he will return. All that remains is Nami’s love interest. That’s about all I can think of. These posts should be longer.
I want to be honest with you. I want to stay as neutral as possible to all ships.
All beside FRobin who I fully support and hope will become canon and while I accept other Robin and Franky ships, I don‘t support them.
I understand why people ship Sanji x Pudding and Zoro x Hiyori. The ships have good bases and as a person I appreciate that. Same can be said about Nami x Vivi and Zoro x Luffy. Same with Kaya x Usopp and Usopp x Sanji
I of course have preferences. I have written down some headcanons here, also as neutral as possible... sometimes less because after all I'm only human XD
You can also submit entries: https://frobin.tumblr.com/submit
It's not as anonymous as the asks though.
Let's continue with your post but I put it under a read more because it is really not about FRobin:
Anon: Continued…Nami was the only one in Dressrosa who cared for Law’s well being and defending his plan. In the manga she was so shocked he got shot and the anime since they ship law and robin, they included the reaction of the other straw hats on sunny, when in the manga Nami’s reaction was only shown , she then passionately took charge and told everyone to follow law’s plans and she only went to zou for Law’s sake(at first she was hesitant going there) but knowing his condition, she went to zou
In zou, someone(maybe Luffy)asks about Law’s whereabouts and in the manga it’s chopper who answers while in the anime it’s robin who answers. Also in the anime, They made Nami brush off the topic about Law while in the manga she never did that. In the anime,They were pushing the Sanji and Nami thing while that was not like that at all in the manga. She was genuinely worried for sanji as the other nakama. She would have done the same if let’s say zoro left as well. Worried just as a nakama.
Continued…toei animation doesn’t want any other female for law other than robin. Which is very biased as you can see. Which is weird because they used to ship law and Nami together in the past. Even though Nami did so much for him. Which is canon. In zou, Nami was talking about the log pose, she mentions Law and he looks at Nami softly and in the anime they didn’t animated law looking at Nami softly, in fact they didn’t animate it at all. How biased are they? Because this goes against their…
Ship. You clearly see it. Also after Jack’s attack on the elephant sends everyone flying all over the place, Nami is holding onto Luffy’s head and there is Law standing next to Nami for no reason really in the manga, while the anime did animate that scene but they didn’t put Law next to Nami like how it was in the manga. Someone on the anime team is so scared of Law x Nami happening(in the past they did ship them) it goes against their ship of Law and robin….
…the staff or some members who liked Law x Nami were probably changed thus why the change from one ship to the other. I doubt Oda had anything to do with it since the anime is doing their own thing like spoiling zoro’s conqueror’s haki way before it should have happened as in the manga it was against Kaido that this reveal happened. You can see the bias and I can’t be the only one noticing this. Here we can talk about these topics cause we know we aren’t toxic like some other fans. We rely on
We rely on facts and proof here which is why the frobin fandom doesn’t shake much at anything. Also in that colorspread where the heart and the straw hats pirates are mingling together, Robin is looking back at Franky on the opposite side of her. While Oda put Nami at Law’s side and he is smiling like we never seen him before with a female. Nami is also smiling being next to him. Also Law’s crew shachi and penguin are blushing at Nami being there as well. Continued…
… it seems Nami is close to Law’s crew as in they seem fond of her. Also Oda’s wife (real life Nami)supposedly has a crush on Law. I would try to find out what her favourite female character might be in one piece obviously. That might be a hint for Law. Also Kishimoto’s wife loved naruto with hinata thus why they happened. And clearly hinata seemed the best choice for naruto as well since she is so kind and loves him for his personality. I would look for what his wife likes , a female for Law.
I don't have much to say (she said like a liar).
Thank you for trusting me with these messages! Thank you for the trust, really.
Those differences between Manga and Anime can be found for any number of scene and is why I rarely take the anime as canon. It's easier to not take it as canon at all.
To be fair, I haven't thought much about Nami/Law at all (I think I read one or two fics out of curiosity?)... which is mostly because I don't care much for Law as a character (except he is a nerdy dork and being embarassed by someone else - mostly in OP Party) but I do understand why you ship them. And I hope this stage I'm providing will help you find other Law/Nami shipper.
Also looking up some Law/Nami on tumblr this posting by @bubbly-bungee-may is a good start if someone is curious about possible scenes:
There are also some really amazing fanarts, really. I did a quick skim and the artists are madly talented.
With that, I continue to more in-box shenanigans.
Until next time, anon :)

Time to Forgive [Sanji & Nami]
Sanji: "Will you ever forgive me for what I did back then?"
@chatcambrioleur answered:
Tumblr media
Traveling out of Whole Cake Island had brought a handful of emotions to their little crew as they sailed away. Relief and happiness --- that they were able to bring Sanji home. Sympathy for everything he'd been through, although gratefulness rang strong --- Sanji was back, and they wouldn't lose him again.
It had never occurred to Nami, just how easy it might be to lose him, to begin with.
She had been trying to brush over everything --- to keep the atmosphere light, as if it was something Nami had always been concerned over. It wasn't.
She spoke so often, out of rage and fear. She said things she didn't mean in the heat of a moment, with an aching chest and tear-filled eyes. It was easy to reflect on her moments of wrath as a mistake. To look back on her fury with embarrassment, for how she'd lashed out. In a way, she had that recollective moment when it came to Sanji. If she had known everything, she wouldn't have dreamed of striking him.
Her faith to Luffy was unwavering. He had proven to her, time and time again that he could do anything. Her boys --- Luffy, Sanji, Zoro, and Usopp --- a motley crew, but they were her boys, and they would do anything for her. They would take down any opponent that stood in her way. On that day in Arlong Park, Nami did what had been hardest for her to do in years, and put her faith in someone else. She trusted them. She trusted Luffy.
Sanji had been in a similar position --- destitute, with no other options. Nami just didn't understand --- he had seen her at her lowest, and he saw how Luffy defied the odds. Why didn't Sanji believe that they would do the same, for him? Where was his trust in his nakama?
On top of everything --- hurting their captain, after all they had shared. Luffy had his moments, Nami knew better than anyone --- but he was their captain. The navigator wouldn't be there, unless she contained the utmost respect and loyalty to him.
Finding herself in the galley, after the rest of the crew had gone to sleep, Nami's mouth drew into a line. She should have figured, he would be here, too. She folded her arms at her torso, the tangerine she had only just begun peeling starting to look unappetizing.
"It's going to take time." Her voice was quiet, though she was blunt as ever. Sanji was one of the few people she expected would never hurt her. One less person she could rely on --- even if he was one of her favorites. Her gaze lifted, and although her tone remained firm, her eyes were soft with care.
"--- You know how much you matter to us, don't you?"
Tumblr media
Sanji knew what he did better than anyone else, he should know better. Nami did the same thing in her own way when it came to Arlong, later Robin with CP9. So he was hypocritical to compare his case to theirs’, yes they were all in despair, yet he had more reason to trust the crew than ever. Luffy defied the odds time and time again along with the rest of the crew, himself included, why couldn’t he trust that too?
There was no excuse, even with the way he was blackmailed. Sanji fought with their captain in a desperate attempt to protect him, and he still adamantly waited for him like the stubborn fool that he was. That was Luffy, and his trust in him never wavered even while taking his kicks. He had a lot to make up for, and Nami’s answer confirmed it.
“I know,” he responded. “I know now, better than ever. I’m sorry, it was very selfish of me to do what I did.” Sanji sighed a little, he never felt more ashamed. But as a man he had to face the consequences of his actions, and be a man about it too, do whatever it takes to set things right again.
“The others are more forgiving, they wouldn’t be sleeping soundly already otherwise,” he admitted as he looked off into the distance. Luffy obviously already forgiven him once he returned as their cook, even corrected Judge on his apparent flaws. Sanji could not ask for a better friend, someone he would gladly cook for again. As for Nami, he had to also take responsibility for putting her in such a position for her to slap him, that was unforgivable. He would never hit a woman, but somehow he did something worse, made a woman hit him. So he turned to face her, eyes apologetic but determined.
“Nami-san, I will do whatever it takes, however long it takes, to make things right. You giving me a chance to is all I could ever ask of you” he spoke sincerely, bowing his head slightly. A part of him wanted to hold and kiss her hand in promise, but he knew better than to let his emotions make things more complicated. Things had to naturally go back to normal, and Sanji owed it to them both, to earn her forgiveness in time. The first step was to not be took awkward, he’d at least try to do what he would usually at this hour.
“I can get you something to drink if you want, what would you like?” Sanji asked her, trying to be more casual like his old self. As this point he didn’t trust himself to get Nami her favourite, what if she didn’t feel like it? He was being cautious, hopefully that was change back to normal in time too.

I feel like I’ve found my kin, I fell in love with Kakashi when I was like 8 LOL. Can I request some general yandere Zoro headcanons btw? I loved/still love him too 😶
Yes you may ahhh!!!! I love Zoro so much. I love writing for fandoms like this bc shounen anime are... Well, shounen, they're aimed at dudes, so they tend to not have as large of a female audience so there's not a lot of content out there. I love Luffy and there's like zero girl-targeted content for him. I swear I've spent so much time looking for wholesome, decent LuNa (my otp im sorry i just hhhh) doujins that aren't super male-oriented, and there's like... 2. For a 900+ episode anime. 2.
I also love the concept of a yandere in a situation where they CAN'T kidnap you, they're limited by their circumstances, so they have to kind of adjust or go insane. It's an interesting dynamic because it eliminates the norm for yanderes.
I think I mentioned this but I'm not 100% caught up with one piece (I mean, who is?), so I'm just keeping it simplistic and going with kinda basic Zoro and nothing with specific character developments or any spoilers other than his backstory
Yandere Roronoa Zoro (One Piece)
Tws: all the usuals -- yandere, noncon, kidnapping
He meets you while he's lost. I'm sorry I just. Zoro gets lost in the middle of some place they're docked, and you're just such a sweetheart, you see this guy clearly not knowing where he's going, and offer to help him. He's kind of taken aback by your softness and sweetness.
He's not easily made aware of his own feelings. He's a rough and tough sort of guy, and he has dedicated himself to swordsmanship so much that he's neglected to focus on himself and his interpersonal relationships, and he's not really self aware at all of his own feelings, very out of touch with his emotions.
Obviously, even if he tries to shove it down, Kuina weighs heavily on his mind in relation to you. He's another man that has known loss and it's dealt its damage on his psyche. He can't lose another person who's dear to him again.
This results in him becoming insanely protective, one of the most protective yans out there. He's easily one led into paranoia delusions regarding your safety. However, he's an honest and reasonable guy and can be level-headed when confronted. If someone (not yourself, as he thinks you're naive, but maybe another girl like Nami or Robin) tells him he's being overprotective and exaggerating about your safety, he may actually have a moment of self-realization and admit to it. He's capable of being reasonable enough to see it once it's pointed out to him. However... this doesn't stop him. He tries, really, he genuinely tells himself that he needs to stop. But his instincts just kind of take over. It's an impulse, to stop you from doing even the most slightly dangerous things.
Once you join the Straw Hat Crew, he just kinda... clings. It's a silent presence, but he's always there, constantly seems to show up wherever you are. Unfortunately, you can't really... get away from him per se. You're kinda limited to one ship, at least as long as you're out on the sea. Your only option for respite is going to your room or bathing, otherwise, he's gonna follow you, even if he's not saying anything and (very badly) trying to feign indifference, pretending you just happen to be going the same way all the time. He doesn't really know what to say, he's not good with these things, and often he's acting without really thinking too much about it. He won't usually strike up a conversation, he just... is there. Watches. May awkwardly ask a question or make a passing comment.
One scenario I imagine is you jokingly picking up one of his swords and wielding it around giggling and he just flips out, takes it from you and yells at you not to do that, are you an idiot? Do you want to trip and fall and have that impale you? Do you realize how easy it would be for you to slice your arm open by accident? It's startling to both you and anyone watching -- even for someone who gets yell-y as easily as him, it seems like an overreaction. He'll apologize but insist it's a safety thing, really.
And he really tries to hide his more... aggressive nature, because he thinks it will drive you away -- he's a blunt, tough guy with a short-fused temper, and he thinks that's definitely not something women like very much. He tries not to yell at you, not get mad so easy, keep his calm better around you, and might even be nicer to others so that you don't think he's mean. And for the most part, he can manage that. Except when it comes to a very specific, very problematic blonde crew member. His little conflicts with Sanji get worse, to even a point that he's snapping at him so frequently that even Sanji himself is a bit bewildered and caught off guard by it. The others notice they fight a lot more often... and Zoro always seems to instigate it, picking quarrels over the littlest things. In reality, he's afraid of the other's... sleazy nature. He can't have you falling for that bastard. He even starts to get jittery when you're in the presence of Franky, Usopp, hell even Luffy of all people. It's noticeable, and everyone kinda worries for him.
He kicks himself for it as soon as he does it, but he finds himself insulting you nonetheless. It's a terrible habit. He gets so awkward and flustered that it's second nature for him to say something snarky or even rude when you talk to him, and he immediately is just mentally screaming at himself for doing so. This will get a bit better with time, though, if you two talk more often.
Now, even if you can fight, you're never gonna really get the opportunity. In battle, he's clinging to you and protecting you at every moment, even if it costs the others some unnecessary wounds. It's highly uncharacteristic of him, and they notice. He won't leave your side, insisting that you're a weak fighter and that he has to take care of you. You just don't get it, you overestimate yourself, you underestimate your enemies, you're a girl. What, Nami and Robin? Well, they've been at this much longer than you, and they had rough upbringings. You're different. You're soft... fragile. You just can't see it. You're lucky he's here to protect your dumbass.
Due to your setup, well, he can't really kidnap you per se. He undoubtedly would if you two were somewhere else, in another life or another setting, but that's not really an option, and even as a yandere, he would never go so far as to kill or abandon his crew. So, he's stuck with just... slowly, slowly mentally deteriorating.
Now, he's not capable of kidnapping, he's not smart enough to really manipulate you into anything (although he WILL tell you that some of the other guys are out to use you), so, he's left to be the guard dog he inevitably becomes to you. If you avoid him, he'll just follow you. If you don't talk to him, that's ok. If you confront him, he'll just insist he has no idea what you're talking about, and you'll start to feel like maybe you're just paranoid. The others... don't really know what to do, to be honest. I can see Nami/Robin potentially confronting him, but in the end, they can't force him to change his behaviors, and they can't afford to lose him. This results in, gradually, everyone slowly kind of accepting your dynamic onboard. They feel bad for you, really, but... in the end, Zoro's just more valuable to the crew. Sorry. They're not gonna get rid of him, but they don't want to get rid of you either.
If you leave? It may just be one of the very very few things that could ever cause him to leave the Strawhats. It would tear him up, really, it goes against his dreams, his pride, his loyalty, but in the end... his loyalty is first and foremost to you. He'll follow you if you leave. It's a bad move on your part, because this gets rid of the only thing standing between you and kidnapping. Which, at that point, surely will happen. Like his other behaviors, he'll feel bad, he'll try and stop himself, tell himself it's wrong, but you'll end up bound in some dark basement nonetheless. He's one to take a very simple approach. Find you alone, sling you up and over his shoulder and carry you off before anyone can come.
Rejection doesn't faze him. No matter what, he'll remain by your side. Even if you never love him in return. It's just his nature, he's a guardian through and through.
In the end, he'll be right there by your side, scaring off any competitors, clinging to you like glue, ever in your presence like a shadow, forever. Whether you want him to or not. He's just an inescapable force, an unmovable object, and you're wasting your time trying to change your fate.
Now, he's very flustered with anything sexual. Highly embarrassed, lots of shame, and doesn't talk much about it. It just kind of happens. He doesn't talk much during, mostly grunts and the occasional fuck when you clamp down, occasionally asking you if you're ok, if it hurts, if it feels good. It's one of the only very soft sides of him. In the end, he really, truly loves you, and doesn't want to hurt you, he wants you to feel good and just love him. It's a very different side to him, one no one else has ever really seen, it's the most vulnerable he himself has ever been with another person.
He feels shame for it, but initially he'll definitely be one to steal your things, sit outside of your room at night, listening to you through the wall, try and get glimpses of you bathing or dressing. He really, really feels guilty, and he's one that will, once you're comfortably restrained and never going anywhere, just sit down and list out every nasty little thing he's ever done regarding you, just to get it off his chest. He understands if you react badly, and he'll apologize, which is a bit ironic considering how much worse kidnapping you is.
He'll apologize for that, too. He's actually one to do so a lot. He's normally a proud guy, but with this? He knows it's wrong, he knows it's fucked up. He knows he can't stop. And he'll be sorry to the moon and back. Just never sorry enough to stop.
He's actually a pretty vanilla guy. Hand-holding missionary type. And, despite being so embarrassed over it all, oddly romantic about it. It's one of the only things he's ever soft and gentle about, it's almost unbelievable to you that he's capable of being so gentle and slow with anything. But he'll kiss your forehead, really take his time with it all, make you cum on his fingers before ever actually fucking you. Hold your hand, look into your eyes. It would be honestly incredibly sweet if it weren't... you know, taking place in some dark sealed off room after dragging you there against your will.
If he's particularly mad, he can get rougher, but he'll apologize after. It's a lot of harsh grabbing, biting, it leaves bruises that he'll rub over softly, whispering an apology, even if a little part of him likes the way it looks on you.

Hello author san! If you are taking requests can you make HCs for Sanji, Kid and Killer. Where the reader has unrequited Love for them. They don't notice the reader until she is gone trying to give up her love. Then they go for her again. Please make it a happy ending. Ignore if you dont wanna write though. Idk why but I truly love angst with happy ending.
Hello!! You’re the one who complements my writing all the time I love you!! Angst with a fluff ending is my favorite!
Also for anyone requesting please tell me if you want me to anonymously answer~
Enjoy!
Sanji, Kid, Killer headcanon- You are in love with him but he doesn’t notice or return the feeling until you are gone
•~•~•~•~
Warnings: angst
Sanji
Tumblr media
•You couldn’t help it that you had fallen in love with someone like Sanji
•You thought he would be smart enough to notice your actions towards him and realize the reason behind them
•Your lingering eyes and touches, you would bring him the ingredients he needs while cooking, help wash the dishes, look for things he would like in the town stores
•But all he did was treat you the same as Nami and Robin when you wanted more, it was painful to pine after him so long and you knew that eventually it would be too much
•So you decided to ask him to dinner and see if he could finally figure out your true feelings
•Sadly, throughout the whole night he showed to signs of realization nor return of your feelings, and that night you knew you would have to stop before you end up hurting yourself or the crew
•You knew it would be painful, but you decided to distance yourself- you stopped helping with dishes unless he specifically asked you, you no longer went out of your way to buy him gifts, no more shared glances when Zoro or Luffy did something
•What you didn’t know, was that Sanji had noticed something missing, he felt somewhat alone and he pondered over it at night- only then did he begin to realize the difference in your actions towards him
•Could it be..? How could be so stupid?! He thought he had only felt towards you the same lecherous way he felt towards all other women- maybe it was because for once you had been the one pining after him- but he didn’t crave their attention or affection as much as yours
•With that he prepared you’d favorite treat and ran out to confess he felt the same feelings that you were trying to get rid of
•Hoping it wasn’t too late, he presented you with the gifts and explained that he had finally realized his feeling towards you, seeing as you were still skeptical, Sanji said you didn’t have to return your feelings right away but that he would win back your heart the right way
•A few days later, you had returned to your original affectionate attitude towards Sanji, and he couldn’t be happier now that he knew what it meant and what he meant to you
Kid
Tumblr media
•You hated it, you hated the empty feeling in your heart after a day of attempting to court Kid to no victory. You hated that your heart had to belong to Eustass Kid. Yet you understood why it did- he was powerful, hot, tough, smart, and occasionally nice. He was the complete “bad boy” package
•You would bring him anything he need while he was working, he would even let you sit in the room sit in the room with him while he worked. You would buy his favorite beer, and grab any neat mechanical things you thought he would like
•You would just linger around him, but despite all of your rather obvious hints at your feelings, Kid remained oblivious
•The Kid pirates were celebrating in a bar one night, and you had come back from the bathroom. You looked around for Kid, but when you found him you wished you hadn’t. He was flirting with some girl at the bar, and your heart broke as you realized that maybe it was time you stop pining after someone who would never return your love
•You didn’t know what you had expected, but no more would you go out of your way for Kid. You stopped spending time with him and giving him your little thoughtful gifts.
•Even Kid knew something was missing, usually you were in his room annoying him at night, but now he was alone in the silence trying to figure out what happened. He missed your presence and the little things you picked up for him, he didn’t know what this feeling was- but he hated it
•The next few weeks, Kid spent trying to get you to spend time with him again, giving you missions or orders that placed you in his company. Kid thought it be too weak of him if he confessed to you only to have you reject him.
•He doubted you felt the same feelings for him that that he felt for you, and it took a very long talk with Killer for Kid to understand that you did in fact return the feelings, which is why you had spent so much time with him
•He was angry that you hadn’t just told him how you felt, but to be fair you didn’t know about his feeling for you and he deffinetly didn’t do anything to help
•He grabbed the latest thing he had been working on, a little music box Kid had been saving for your birthday. He ran right to your cabin on the ship and practically threw the music box into your hands as he yelled at you for being to scared to confess to him- then he proceeded with a confession of his own
•You said that you didn’t know how you felt about him now- to say that kind of broke Kid’s heart would be true. Kid said that he would court you this time, and treat you the way you deserve to be treated. It was an extremely soft confession for the usually rough captain, but it melted your heart.
Tumblr media
•Killer’s attitude towards you was the opposite of what you expected a pirate to be, he was kind and gentle, he would cook for you and scold Kid when he was mean to you, so you had quickly fallen in love with the man
•It deffinetly wasn’t a smart idea, but you were too love sick to think rationally about it. You would help him in the kitchen, try to take lookout duty the same time as him, piggyback rides were common with you two, and on top of that you would constantly compliment him
•You thought Killer was a smart enough man to realize you felt something other than friendship for him. You were planning to finally confess to him when the Kid pirates were at the bar.
•You saw Killer behind Heat and went over to ask him to come outside, but as you passed Heat, your eyes fell on the woman Killer was talking to. The realization that Killer didn’t love you hit you like a ton of bricks and you felt the need to show him that you didn’t need his love, even thought he still didn’t know you loved him
•You ended all extra contact with him, only interacting when ordered to. No more lookouts with him, no more assisting him in the kitchen, no piggyback rides from him, nothing
•Killer immediately noticed you’d absence as you had become a large part of his day, not to mention his favorite part. It was during one of his night lookout shifts when he saw you down on the deck making your rounds, the moonlight dancing across you’d face, that Killer finally realized the weight on his heart and identified it as love.
•His immediate thoughts were that someone like you would never love someone like him, but as he remembered your old actions towards him, he began to suspect that just maybe, you had returned the feeling once. Afraid that it was too late he quickly ran down to you
•Killer explained what he felt, hoping with all his heart that you still held some of your feelings towards him. To his luck you still felt something other than friendship, but you were very skeptical. Killer promised to earn back your love the way you had earned his in the first place

Best Bae’s to go to when Dealing with Anxiety or Depression
Sabo
Tumblr media
The literal king at using his words and knowing which ones will help you the best! Will tell you how much you mean to him and how amazing he thinks you are.
One of the more understanding ones as well; he to has his moments where he has negative thoughts and he knows they can eat away at you.
Will hold you close to him and lay his chin on your head as he rubs your back. Will not judge you if you cry; actually encourages it as it helps release the stress.
Won’t force you to talk about it and knows you will when you feel comfortable and ready to. If you decide to, he will listen adamantly and wait until you finish your thoughts before helping you find solutions to your issues (”Perhaps we should try finding facts to these beliefs before we decide they are true.”).
If you only want to rant however just let the boy know and he will just hold you for a while longer and let you two enjoy the peace together.
10/10 would recommend a therapy session with Dr. Sabo!
Nico Robin
Tumblr media
She has this calming way about her that just makes it easy to let her know how you are feeling. Besides, she already knew something was troubling you due to the look in your eyes. Rather than ask about it, she knew you would come at your own time if you wanted to talk about it.
Would put the book she was reading down and usher for you to sit with her at the small table she was relaxing at. Depending on the type of comfort you prefer, you can either sit next to her on the lounge chair or place your head in her lap while she plays with your hair.
Won’t even question it and she knows you would do the same for her! Feels this is the special moments that make relationships worth it; before meeting you she didn’t have anyone else to talk to about her own feelings, so she is happy she can do the same in return (”I’m glad you find comfort in my presence, it makes me happy we can be closer.”).
Once you are feeling better she will ask if you want to talk about it and if you want her advice. Won’t put her two cents in unless it is something that involves your well-being. She knows you’re a smart person, but she also knows how emotions can control even the most logical of people.
Another 10/10 Queen!
“Red Haired” Shanks
Tumblr media
Okay so hear me out! He’s actually a good listener when he puts his mind to it! We saw how he cared for Luffy when he was upset and I think he would care the same amount for his s/o!
Will listen intently on what is bothering you and already thinking on what he can do to help or fix your thought process. Is the one to add his two cents however, especially if it’s how you view yourself (”Are you saying I have bad taste?”).
Will get a bit offended not gonna lie if you downgrade yourself because he sees you as someone who is perfect so now you are doubting his own thoughts. Doesn’t raise his voice or tries to argue however, rather he leaves it at that and just holds you. He knows that this thought will fade and until it does he will take care of you.
This also means he doesn’t find self-deprecating jokes as funny. He will show is annoyance if you make a joke about your flaws/things you want to change (”You have to accept who you are, let others see the person I see.”).
I say 9/10 just because he will make sure before you two separate that you don’t have those negative thoughts in your head.
Vinsmoke Reiju
Tumblr media
Another great listener and even though she might not look like she cares; on the inside she completely understands what you are going through!
Has really good observational skills so she has already been checking on you secretly throughout the day. She knows that for some people it’s hard to express their emotions and knows how difficult it can be to show that vulnerability. But she also wants to make sure you are at least physically safe during your mental depletion.
Is extremely patient and will not show her worries upfront. However, this can backfire if her s/o won’t speak out on their own regard as well. I can see her finally deciding to speak up if it has lasted a few days.
Will be completely open about her concerns and your wellbeing (”You’ve been down the past few days and haven’t been eating, I’m worried you are going through something you feel you have to face alone.”).
She’s stubborn due to being the only girl in her family so don’t think you can get out of it, you will tell you the truth.
9/10 because sometimes she can give the impression she doesn’t care, but she really does!
Trafalgar D. Water Law
Tumblr media
He is a doctor after all, so he knows that health comes in both physical and mental capacities.
Gives great advice (even though he doesn’t follow it himself-). He’s already a good listener too due to his doctor skills; however his doctor behavior kicks in and now he wants to treat you rather than help you.
Wants to know everything! What were you doing before these thoughts occurred, what triggered it, do you have any coping skills you can use? It can get a bit overwhelming, but he only means well!
You’ll have to tell him he is overwhelming you cause now he is in the doctor zone and doesn’t even realize what he is saying. Literally trying to diagnose you. (”You could have major depressive disorder, tell me again how long have these depressing thoughts been bothering you?”)
Sighs when he realizes he is causing you more stress than help. Isn’t sure what to do about the situation now and pats your head softly (”Just don’t be so hard on yourself, it will be fine, okay?”).
8/10 cause boy can’t separate boyfriend from doctor-
Tashigi
Tumblr media
Despite her stubborn nature; Tashigi can be very caring! She feels she owes it to her s/o to be able to listen to their concerns as sometimes she puts them in stressful situations due to her job.
However she is absentminded and sometimes says the first thing that comes to mind (which can be viewed as offensive, even when she didn’t mean it to be-). This could lead you to feeling worse and she is quick to take notice, quickly apologizing and asking what’s wrong/how can she help.
Has this look on her face as she listens to you vent; almost as if she can envision what is upsetting you. Once you finish, she tries to think her words over so she doesn’t make the same mistake twice.
If she can’t find a solution to your problems she will suggest you two work together to find someone who can (”Let’s go ask Commander Smoker!”).
8/10 because sometimes she makes the situation worse, but can find her way out of it and be helpful!
Runner Ups:
Marco: 7/10
Vivi: 7/10
Ace: 6/10
Nami: 6/10

It’s heaven in your arms
Well, this is just a clusterfuck of emotions. Let me lead you down the path of grief and mourning only for it to end with a bed sharing trope.
I have no idea if there are even people that like the original trio together romantically, but I was really vibing, so hopefully I can convince some of my regular readers to take the plunge.
If any of my ZoNami readers are here, I’m doing the requests you all sent in – I swear!
I’m not sure what to expect from posting this, so I’ll say this once pre-emptively: if this isn’t your cup of tea, you know where the door is, please leave quietly.
Summary: It may have been two years since Ace’s death but, for Luffy, sometimes it still felt like just yesterday. Or, sometimes, something beautiful can blossom from a place of hurt. Rating: T
You can also find this on AO3 and FFN.
Nami awoke, eyes burning from lack of sleep and mouth dry. It was still dark outside, and she grumbled to herself at waking up so early, but it was no use. She wouldn’t be able to go back to sleep until she had a glass of water. She swung her feet off the bed, clumsily trying to find her slippers before getting up. It was warm outside, so she didn’t bother with anything other than her pyjama top and shorts.
As annoying as it was to be awake so early, it was peaceful. It was a quick shuffle across the deck and into the kitchen, where she filled her glass hastily, already thinking about getting back into bed.
That last thing she expected when leaving the kitchen was the sight of Luffy sitting on the railing, facing the ocean with his feet kicking over the edge. Reckless as always it seemed.
“If you fell, no one would be around to save you,” She lectured.
His shoulders hunched; she’d surprised him it seemed, but he didn’t react as she’d expected. There was no carefree laughter or beaming grin as he told her not to be a worry wart. Instead, she received a muffled, “You’re up.”
Without looking at his face she didn’t know how to take that but his whole attitude was off, and it had alarm bells going off in her head. The comfort of her bed a distant memory now as she walked over to the railing to join him and settled her glass of water beside herself.
The words on the tip of her tongue vanished into the night air when she finally caught sight of his face. His eyes were red and puffy, his face pale despite his constant tan and drawn. It was an expression she’d never seen on his face. He looked defeated.
He looked tired.
“Do you want to talk about it?”
He shook his head, just as she’d expected him too and uttered out a quiet, “No.”
“That’s okay, but I’m going to sit here,” she told him. He could sit in silence if that was what he wanted, but she wouldn’t leave him, that wasn’t an option.
She took his hand in hers because whilst he may not want to speak, he’d always been a tactile person and she couldn’t just sit here and not do anything when there were tears still running down his face.
They sat in silence, only the sound of the waves hitting the ship could be heard with their thighs pressed snuggly against the others and his hand clasped in hers, a thumb absently roaming over the skin of his wrist. His tears had resided for the time being, only the stray one falling every now.
She felt like she was sitting with a deer, trying not to spook it because it felt like any wrong move would have him scampering away.
Well, that was until he pried his hand from hers and she was going to say something until his head feel heavily against her shoulder and an arm wrapped around her body. That was all she needed to let herself relax, no longer worried about scaring him away as she wrapped her arms around his shoulders to pull him closer.
It was another long moment of them sitting like that until he whispered in her shoulder, “It hurts.”
“What hurts?”
He was silent but the tears were back as she felt them soaking into her pyjama top.
“I had a bad dream.”
“Yeah? What about?” She encouraged softly.
“About him.” His voice cracked as he said it and his shoulders shook.
There was only one him she knew of.
“It played in a loop, and I couldn’t do anything.”
Although she was being fed the information in dribs and drabs, it wasn’t hard to piece it together. She waited for him to continue but the long pause told her he wasn’t going to.
She thought about what she’d want in that moment, if their roles were reversed, what she’d want from the other person sat with her, so she settled on, “I only met him briefly, tell me more about him. What was it like growing up with him?”
He was quiet and for a moment she didn’t think he was going to respond, that maybe that wasn’t what he wanted at all.
“He hated me when we were younger,” he said wetly, fighting through tears to talk. “I caused trouble, couldn’t fight and cried a lot. He called me cry baby all the time.”
“He didn’t when we met him in Alabasta though.” She remembered how he’d looked at Luffy, eyes full of adoration and voice warm as he asked the crew to look after Luffy for him.
He huffed out a laugh at her words, such a stark contrast to his normal boisterous laugh.
He told her everything. How Ace had gone from despising him to accepting him as a brother along with his other brother, Sabo, how they’d caused trouble together and had the best times together. How he’d made Luffy’s childhood a happy one.
It made her ache. Because as he talked, selfishly she thought about her own sister. How devasted she’d be to lose her, someone that felt like her other half since before she could remember, knew her better than anyone else, who she could talk to about anything. It was hard to explain a sibling relationship to someone without one, there was a different feeling to, you felt it in your core.
Mostly, she thought about how hollow she’d feel.
It felt like an unspoken rule that siblings were for life. You knew that parents were older and that they’d pass at some point in your life, but not your sibling. It felt like they were meant to be with you for life, that you’d grow old together and have each other’s backs no matter what to the very end.
She supposed that was part of the grief.
Although she didn’t know the ins and outs, even now Luffy was edging around his dream and what’d happened back then, she knew the key details - how Ace had jumped in front of him to save him. How Ace had died before his eyes. Even if she suspected there was more to that moment than what she knew, it was traumatic enough.
Another tangled chain to unwrap from the knotted ball of necklaces that was grief.
Ultimately, she didn’t need to know what the dream was about or what’d happened back then, because the picture she had in her mind was vivid enough and she knew how he felt. Watching someone slip away before your eyes, helpless as you watched them go and wishing you’d done something different.
Her heart bled for him as he spoke, words blurring into his tears, she could feel her own eyes prickling as sadness overflowed.
Hands clumsily wiped at her face and belatedly she realised Luffy had stopped talking. “I didn’t mean to make you cry,” he said.
Without thinking, she wiped his face in return. “It’s okay, I’m glad I get to share this with you.”
She cupped his face and she meant it as a soothing gesture, yet it seemed to have the opposite effect. Watching his face crumple before her eyes was so much worse than how she’d imagined it when his face had been buried in her shoulder. He was so expressive all the time that she shouldn’t really be surprised, his lips quivered and those big eyes scrunched as he tried to hold back his tears.
“I know I still have so much, and I should focus on that…”
“But that doesn’t make that little part feel any better?”
“Yeah.”
“I know. It’s not going to either.” He nodded glumly at her words, staying silent and she suspected it was because he couldn’t form words. “You love him. That’s not going to disappear no matter what happens.”
She continued because she needed to say it, to let him know this was okay before she the moment passed, and he locked this all away to deal with another night. “You’re allowed to mourn him, you’re allowed to feel sad without feeling guilty, but when it overwhelms you, tell one of us, okay?” She paused, thinking over her words, before adding, “And even when it doesn’t overwhelm you and you just want company, come find us.”
“Okay.” He sounded choked up, more so than before.
She brought him back into a firm hug, running her hands up and down his back, letting her words sink in and giving him a chance to speak or cry more if he wanted to.
His next words told her they were done for the time being.
“I don’t want to go back to sleep,” he said.
She didn’t have to ask why. She still woke up sometimes in the middle of the night, tears in her eyes as she relived all different versions of Bell-mère’s death, each worse than the last. She knew that he feared having to relive his worst nightmare over again or catching even a whisp of his brother behind closed eyelids, taunting him over the fact that that would be the only way he’d ever be able to see him again.
“I don’t either,” she lied smoothly, “We could raid the fridge-” Sanji would understand- “or I could show you a new card trick or we could go draw on Zoro’s face. He’s probably up in the crow’s nest and he sleeps like a log.”
Luffy grinned, it didn’t reach his eyes like it normally did but that was okay, it was an improvement on the solemn expression from before. “Usopp just bought new markers!”
They both turned at the sound of heavy footsteps and the very person they’d been planning to mess with was stood only a few steps away.
“Why do you two look guilty?” He looked suspiciously at them both.
Neither of them answered, but she saw the moment Zoro noticed Luffy’s face and took in his red, puffy eyes and worn expression. His demeanour changed instantly, he looked serious, and he didn’t say anything more as he joined them on the railing, pressing up to Luffy’s vacant side and taking his other free hand into his- he could probably feel that it was wet from Luffy’s tears.
The ocean lapped silently against the ship and whatever plans her and Luffy had made seemed to be put on hold as he stayed sat on the railing, but that was fine with her, she was happy to sit there with him in silent support.
“It should’ve been me,” Luffy finally spoke, voice sure but only a whisper.
Those were heavy words, she imagined how often that thought circled around in his head and how hard it must have been to finally say it out loud.
“That’s stupid,” Zoro said.
“Zoro,” she hissed. For his blunt words and because Luffy looked on the verge of tears, it made her heart crumble all over again.
“Ace loved you a lot and he didn’t do it for you to think that; he wouldn’t want that. It was his choice and he made it and he’d do it a hundred times over.”
He made a good point, she knew that, but a tough love speech felt too soon.
“Zoro’s not stupid all the time,” Luffy defended weakly, smile wobbly.
Maybe not.
“Oi.”
Nami shook her head, smiling slightly at their antics. “Unfortunately, I have to agree with you. Shall we agree it’s a 10% smart and 90% stupid?”
Zoro tried to look miffed, although it was betrayed by the smirk tugging at his lips. He knew what she was doing, trying to lighten Luffy’s spirits, so he let it slide.
“Well, we can’t draw on Zoro’s face now-” Zoro glowered at her- “but if you want an extra challenge, we could get Usopp or Sanji.” They were light sleepers; she knew he’d be up for the challenge.
Luffy smiled, nodding tiredly and stifled a yawn that had her and Zoro sharing a quick look between them.
“You can sleep with me if you want,” Zoro offered nonchalantly and Luffy perked up at that.
She should leave them to get on with it. They’d made their arrangements already and in the back of her mind, she knew she should, but Luffy’d told her so much, it felt callous to just palm him off. And maybe, somewhere deep down she didn’t like the thought of being left out. Maybe.
The words were out before she’d properly thought them through.
“You can both sleep in my bed.”
“Like a sleepover!” Luffy said and his eyes brightened, a shimmer of what normally resided there returning.
“It’s a one-time offer and no one tells Sanji!” Nami warned even though Luffy looked considerably lighter and Zoro was smirking at her. She didn’t doubt Zoro would store that away to use against Sanji later, but she’d deal with that then. And if he decided to blab, she’d then have the perfect opportunity to charge him, and he wouldn’t be able to say a thing.
The walk to her room was quiet, only the sounds of their shoes thumping against the deck with every step, getting louder and louder as they got closer to her room. She wondered if she’d regret this. What if she’d made it awkward? She should’ve just let Zoro and Luffy bunk together.
Opening the door felt heavy, like something awful would be waiting for her on the other side. Instead, there was just a dark, muted room to greet her and the awkwardness she felt doubled to the point she wondered if the other two felt it too. She wasn’t sure if she was thankful or not that Robin was still asleep, facing away from them.
All those thoughts were put to rest as Zoro and Luffy moved past her, seemingly more than comfortable with this arrangement than her. Zoro shucked off his boots and settled against the far side of the bed so his back faced the wall and Luffy kicked off his flip flops, his hat already sat safely on her bedside unit.
“Absolutely not,” Nami whispered fiercely, hands on hips and they both peered up at her quizzically. “I’m not sleeping on the edge only to wake up on the floor. Zoro, swap.”
“What, so I can wake up on the floor instead?”
“You can sleep anywhere!”
Luffy had snickered at their bickering, watching them go back and forth until he seemingly grew bored of that and stretched his arm out to wrap around her waist. As his arm snapped back, he dragged her with it, she collided with the both of them in her bed. Like a true rubber man, Luffy looked unbothered although she was fairly sure she’d kicked him, but Zoro wheezed behind her as she’d winded him with her elbow.
“That hurt!” Nami moaned.
“Think before you do that!” Zoro grouchily whispered.
“There we go, now we’re all cosy.” He ignored them both, nestling down into the bed as his arm reached across Nami to rest over onto Zoro.
“Luffy!” She squawked, rosy faced. “Move over! You have all that space!”
This was not what she’d had in mind when she’d invited them… into her bed. Although she didn’t have a massive bed, she’d thought they’d at least try to keep their distance, she hadn’t expected this. Luffy was so close she could feel his breath on her face and his hair brushed against her forehead, no doubt mingling in with her own strands. She could feel Zoro spooned behind her, his own arm outstretched across them both and she was only now just considering how appropriate her pyjama shorts were. Which was ridiculous, it was only those two.
All of this didn’t feel right, they were there for Luffy, he should be the one in the middle not her. He should be the one squashed between them, safe and warm and feeling supported, not her. Yet one look at his face put all of that to rest. You could still tell he’d been crying; the puffiness would take a few hours to go down, but he looked relaxed, the tormented and weight in his expression gone.
He looked content.
And that was enough right now for her brain to shut off, thoughts pushed to the back for another day, and have her burying into the warmth from the two bodies next to her with the knowledge that everything would be okay for now.
----------------------------------
This was meant to be a one-shot, but it’s now a two parter at no one’s request. I’m writing/editing the second chapter right now; it’s on its way.
I used to ship LuNami hard when I was younger, but I think I’ve lost my ability to write them romantically nowadays… unless you throw in Zoro and then it’s back on apparently.
I write and edit all my pieces by myself, so if there’s any errors, please excuse them.
Thanks for reading.

Book VI Chapter 6: Calling of Blood
Part 1: Hearing Voices
MID_SCENARIO_OPENING: Alfons: We will take the route Director Letizia informed us of and return to Askr, Princess Veronica. Anna: We need to investigate that village that's enclosed in darkness as well. I hope there's something we can do. Veronica: Indeed. Likewise, I will check on the situation here in Embla. Ash: ...On that note—although I admit that I cannot make promises, of course—I will say this, at least: Keeping hope is a key factor of success and I, too, endeavor to maintain mine going forward. Sharon: There's no need to worry! I'm sure everything will turn out well. Then Askr and Embla can cooperate and aid each other! Veronica: … Yes... Askr and—and Embla… Hrk! Urgh… Guhhh... Sharon: Princess...Veronica? Veronica: Why... Suddenly, I— AAAGGGH! Alfons: V-Veronica! Ash: Oh no... This is sure to be trouble. For such a terrible thing to happen, and now, of all times… The curse of Embla's blood haunts her body and mind, waiting for the moment to take control of her… And she...Embla will seek to kill all those who have come from Askr, myself included... Veronica: I must...kill. Veronica: Kill...Askr...
MID_SCENARIO_MAP_BEGIN: Veronica: Here... You die here... Askr! Alfons: I've never seen Embla's curse manifest like this before… Fight it, Princess Veronica!
MID_SCENARIO_MAP_END: Veronica: Kill... KILL… Nyah-AAAGH! The voice... It won't stop… telling me to kill... Sharon: Princess Veronica, are you back in control? Let me take a loo— Veronica: No! Stay back. Run... Hurry! If you stay here... You're as good as dead… I won't be able...to stop it! Anna: Everyone, pull back! Quickly!
MID_SCENARIO_ENDING: Alfons: The sight lines on this mountain route are certainly not ideal for understanding the terrain. That said, I suppose it is preferable to a retreat over an open field... Sharon: It's a good thing Letizia told us this route was an option. Um... Ash? Are you all right back there, by the way? Ash: Oh... Heh... Yes. Thank you for asking, and I do apologize for my pace. I am impressed by you all. Anna: A scout report's just come in! Sharon: What is it? Anna: We have a problem. The bridge up ahead has been knocked out. In order to get back to Askr from here, we'll have to take a rather lengthy detour... Alfons: Commander Anna, does this mean... Anna: It means someone is trying to stop us from returning to Askr. But...who? Surely it couldn't be anyone who serves Princess Veronica, could it? Alfons: Hm... An unknown foe...and one that is likely close by even now. I suspect our return to Askr will prove to be more of a challenge than we had anticipated...
Part 2: A Thief's Perspective
MID_SCENARIO_MAP_BEGIN: Renac: The name of the game is making money. Money is all that matters.
Part 3: An Archer's Tears
MID_SCENARIO_MAP_BEGIN: Namy: I'm Neimi. I've learned a little of archery. I hope it will be helpful to you.
MID_SCENARIO_ENDING: Bruno: My sincere apologies, Prince Xander. It seems I've brought you on another long journey to a fruitless land. Marks: You needn't worry. Princess Veronica requested I accompany you, so it is my pleasure, of course. Bruno: Thank you, Prince Xander. You've managed to give her the support I always wished I were able to. Even if something were to happen to me, I know that I can trust that she will be safe with you beside her. Marks: Please. You are her only brother. You cannot be replaced so easily! ...So, what shall we do now? Bruno: We keep going. No matter how long it takes. No matter the cost… I must find a way to break the curse of Embla's blood.
Part 4: A Sandstorm's Ascension
MID_SCENARIO_MAP_BEGIN: Jhosua_Bloom01: I was a fool in my youth, yes, but I learned much over these ten years.
MID_SCENARIO_ENDING: Veronica: Ungh... Letizia: Ah, Veronica... There you are. Are you all right? Veronica: S-Sissy, I... Letizia: Listen to me, Veronica. I've been looking for you. Something terrible has happened. You have been accused of treason. Veronica: Treason? Me?! Letizia: They're saying you are a traitor to your country—that you want to help Askr destroy Embla. And with the sudden attacks on the villages across Embla. They say it was you who ordered them. Powerful nobles are claiming you planned this for a long time now, and that they have proof. Veronica: All lies. I would never wish suffering on my own people. Letizia: Of course you wouldn't. I know that, and I believe you're telling me the truth. This is a conspiracy against you, designed to frame you for heinous crimes against Embla. In all likelihood, they have been planning this strike against you for some time now...But...how could we possibly prove any of that? What counterevidence do we have? Veronica: ...And what does Mother believe? Letizia: ...Her Majesty has ordered you be apprehended so that the truth might be ascertained. I am sorry, Veronica. I have no desire to harm you... So, please, come with me, peacefully. Veronica: Guh... This voice... Letizia: Veronica? Are you all right? Veronica: The voice... It won't stop… I can't fight it! Must... Veronica: Kill Askr... Letizia: Veronica, I cannot allow you to leave here so easi— Veronica! Where are you going?!
Part 5: Curtain's Fall
MID_SCENARIO_MAP_BEGIN: Anna: Princess Veronica is still in pursuit. We need to put some distance between us! Alfons: Embla's curse... She's being forced to turn on us against her will. Ash: Yes, your assessment is accurate. Mortals who have inherited Embla's blood cannot disobey her. Sharon: So even though Princess Veronica doesn't want to hurt us, she can't help but fight us? How can we ever hope to build any sort of relationship between Askr and Embla in that case?! Alfons: ... Veronica: Urrrgh... Rrraaahhh! ...R-run! Be— Before the voice... Veronica: Kill...Run while y—  Kill...Askr!
MID_SCENARIO_MAP_END: Veronica: Rrr-raaaghhh! Anna: Let's go—while we can! Sharon: B-but, Princess Veronica… Should we really just leave her like this? Alfons: ...We have to go. We have no choice. There's nothing else we can do for her right now.
MID_SCENARIO_ENDING: Veronica: Ungggh… My head...feels like it's splitting in two. This voice...won't stop... Why has this...just started happening to me? Why...now? Letizia: Veronica, there you are. Please, do not run again. Veronica: Sissy… Forgive me... I did not mean to. Letizia: That is good... But unfortunately, Veronica, I have more bad news to deliver… It seems a forbidden tome was stolen from the imperial vaults. All the guards were found dead. Veronica: Who would do such a thing? Letizia: According to a soldier who claims to have survived the attack… It was you. Veronica: More lies! It could not have been me! Letizia: Yes, yes. I know that, of course. My little Veronica could never do such a thing. It seems you've stumbled into a trap. Someone is framing you. Veronica: Wh-who would do something like that to me? Letizia: I would. Veronica: ...Y-you?! Letizia: Yes. Me. Letizia. Your "Sissy." I did this to you. Who else could have won the loyalty of lords and nobles, leading them to suspicion, to think you treasonous? Convincing that "surviving" soldier to say exactly what I wanted was the easy part. Simple, but effective. Veronica: I don't understand...how could you do this to— You were always so kind to me… So caring... Letizia: Of course! I have been nothing but kind to my sweet little Veronica. It makes the sting of your undoing that much sweeter, doesn't it? Veronica: Sissy... Why? Letizia: Tell me, Veronica, do you remember when you told me royal status meant nothing to you? I remember as if it were yesterday. The two of us were sharing some tea in the garden one bright, sunny day. You said that...as long as we were able to stay close, you didn't care about titles. Such lovely words... Only later that day did I learn it was the spawn of a usurper that had spoken them. And after you had already taken everything from my family—from me. Veronica: ... Letizia: Now I will extend you the same courtesy and take everything from you! Your role as princess, the faith of your people... Everything you hold dear reduced to ash. Then, when you have lost it all… then tell me how little your royal status matters to you.

Love Languages - Straw Hats
Luffy:
• What he needs/responds best to:
I think Luffy would really need to receive gifts. The types of gifts that carry a lot of meaning and are sentimental. We've seen how he treats the Srraw Hat he was gifted by Shanks - he keeps it on him at all times, does everything in his power to make sure it doesn't go missing. Yes, the hat is part of a promise they made, but that's the whole point. That gift from Shanks inspired luffy and continues to inspire luffy. Another example is the water he receives from Toto in Alabasta. It's an important gift, something the old man worked hard to get, so to Luffy he knows and understands the effort and meaning behind it and for that he treats it carefully. That is why I believe Luffy would adore sentimental gifts like that from his significant other. It shows the thought, the energy, and the care you have for him. It's a great way to show him your love. Also, if he were to receive meat as a gift.... well lmao we already know how that would go down.
• What he gives:
There's not really any need to explain this, but Lufy gives acts of service. Luffy is for the most part, pretty selfless. He constantly helps people he just met, for absolutely nothing in return. Sometimes they don't even say anything, he just already acts. This would be how he expresses his love for you. He'd randomly share his food with you (this would be a big one), he'd ask what you want or need done and as soon as you tell him he'd go off and do it. That's just how he is.
Zoro:
• What he needs/responds best to:
Zoro is very focused on his goals. He has his daily routine - sleep, train, eat, train, drink, train, repeat. Training is such a significant part of Zoros life, it's almost nonnegotiable. We've seen him train immediately after incurring an injury, without rest or recovery. Therefore, quality time would be very important for Zoro. In particular, I think Zoro would feel most love and cared for with a partner who understands his desire and need to constantly train, and rather than telling him to stop and spend time together, they join him in his training sessions. For Zoro that is quality time. The same can be said with the other points in his routine. A significant other who spends quality time with him through drinking, eating, sleeping and training would make him feel so understood and⅕ loved. I feel like acts of service kind of go hand-in-hand with quality time for Zoro. You know Zoros routine, what he does, and so doing little things throughout the day to make it easier for him to stick to that routine and maximize his energy for training, I believe, is a good way to make the swordsman feel loved. Preparing his favourite drink (if you are on the ship, or buying his favourite drink the next time you are on land), offering him a sparring buddy. Those sorts of acts of service will really make him feel appreciated.
• What he gives:
Zoro is more of a doer rather than a talker, and while he may be an idiot (especially with directions), hes not stupid. He has a good sense of the needs and states of his crew members. Because of this, Zoros love language is most definitely acts of service, he would view the situation, gauge your current state and act accordingly without being told what you needed. He'd just know.
Sanji:
• What he needs/responds best to:
To be fair Sanji would probably respond well to any of the types of love languages LMAO, but, I personally think he'd respond best to physical touch and quality time. Sanji is a SIIIIIMP (I love the man, bless his horny little heart). Anytime a woman is even in the vicinity he gets a nosebleed and gets all love-crazy. Imagine what hes like when a girl actually touches him. Actually... we see what hes like in Dressrosa with Violet. He blushes, swoons and everything in between when she holds his hand or touches him. So making physical affection towards Sanji is definitely the best way to show him you love him. Also, I believe quality time would be a big one for Sanji. Going with him to get the groceries for the ship, spending time with while he cooks. Showing interest in his passion would without a doubt make Sanji feel all warm and fuzzy inside. He loves cooking for others, so to have his partner reciprocate that interest and share that passion with him would mean the world to the chef.
• What he gives
Like Luffy, the love languages Sanji gives are pretty self explanatory. Sanji would show his love through acts of service and words of affirmation. We already see him do this to an extent throughout the series for Nami and Robin. Sanji will make your favourite meal, your favourite drink, anything you want. He is extremely chivalrous amd takes pride in treating women correctly, so you best believe he will do everything for you so you dont have to lift a finger. He would also compliment you daily, encourage you and listen to whatever you have to say. We've seen him do this numerous times. He loves to let women know how beautiful, strong, and amazing they are.
Usopp:
• What he needs/responds best to:
This guys is so anxious and insecure. He constantly fixates on how he's weak and unworthy to be a member of the Straw Hats. It's likely that these thoughts and feelings would manifest in a relationship with him too. Therefore, Usopp is a person in desperate need of words of affirmation. He would absolutely thrive if you were to encourage, reassure and compliment him. Remind him that he is in fact a brave warrior of the sea, one you admire very much. I also just can't stop thinking that Usopp would respond really well to quality time with his partner. If his partner would just sit and listen intently to his stories (some true, some exaggerated and some entirely false) regardless if they've heard them before or not. It would make him feel so appreciated.
• What he gives:
There's not a doubt in my mind that Sogeking would show his love through words of affirmation and quality time. He knows how it feels to be anxious and insecure. To ensure you dint ever feel that way he would be constantly complimenting you, speaking words of encouragement and listening to whatever doubts you had and then instantly reminding you that you are in fact bad af and should never doubt yourself. Again, Usopp would spent so much quality time with you telling you an assortment of stories to make you smile, cry, and laugh.
Nami:
• What she needs/responds best to:
Is it a surprise that the beautiful navigator would respond best to receiving gifts? No, not at all. She's known for her love of treasure and money, AND, she epreally enjoys shopping any chance she gets. So, it's safe to say any sort of gift is a great way to make Nami feel loved. But, she wouldn't just appreciate big expensive, or really materialistic gifts, she would also respond really well to small, sentimental gifts too. She was gifted a bracelet from her sister (we see the flashback scene in Strong World). Its a really important and precious gift to her, that she wears at all times. So, receiving a gift of any kind would mean the world to Nami.
• What she gives:
Giving gifts would be Namis main love language. She's in charge of all the finances and treasure in the Straw Hats, so we see how cautious she can be with money. Therefore, if Nami were to use that treasure for a gift for her significant other, it's a really big sign, it's a giant communication of love! There is no way in hell she'd do that for just anyone. This is actually shown in the Sabaody Archipelago arc when Camie is being auctioned off and Nami says that they can use all their treasure and money to try and get her back. If Nami truly cares for someone, she'll show it through gift giving.
Chopper:
• What he needs/responds best to:
Again, Choppers is relatively self explanatory. This boy thrives when he receives compliments of any kind. So, words of affirmation are undoubtedly the love language he responds best to. There's really not much else to say about it.
• What he gives
Chopper really enjoys spending time with the crew, he's been shown to enjoy playing games with Robin, fishing off the Sunny, and goofing off with Luffy and Usoop. So, quality time is the primary way Chopper shows his love. He enjoys spending time doing anything with those he cares about, so his significant other would be no different.
Robin:
• What she needs/responds best to:
Robin has had a rough life, she may not have always been alone, but she really was alone for most of her life. She couldn't trust anyone, could 't get close to anyone, but now that she's found that person, spending quality time with them is going to be very important for her. She would really need her significant other to just be near her, even if it's in silence while she's studying, or allowing her to talk about her research. As long as the person she loves spends some quality time with her, Robin will be happy.
• What she gives
She's the intellectual of the crew. She can read people and is really good with her words. That's why I think words of affirmation are what she'll give to her partner. We've seen her calm down, reassure, and encourage some if the anxious bunch on the crew, so there's no doubt that she always knows the right thing to say.
Franky
• What he needs/responds best to:
I believe words of affirmation to be the love language Franky responds the best to. Being told how cool, strong, creative, and super he is would do wonders. You can actually see this in the way he responds to Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper's reactions to all his creations. When they go on and on spouting compliments, with every "oooh" and "ahhh" Franky gets motivated, more lively, it makes him feel great. So it stand to reason that words of affirmation is the best love language for Franky.
• What he gives
Franky is very hands on. He is a shipwright afterall. This cyborg undoubtedly shows love through acts of service. He'll make and do anything you need him to, sometimes even anticipating your future needs and having things prepared in advance. I also be,ieve receiving gifts goes hand-in-hand with Franky. He'd use his creative mind and skills to make you some outrageously super gift that you can use in battle alongside him.
Brook
• What he needs/responds best to
This poor guy spent most of his life alone, having lost all of his crew. So, Brook would require both quality time and physical touch. Physical touch would be a great reassurance, little touches here and there - physical affection - is a reminder to him that he is no longer alone. The same can be said about quality time. Doing anything in the presence of his partner is soothing to him, it removes any lingering reminders of loneliness.
• What he gives
Brook hands down shows love through acts of service. This man would learn all of your favourite songs and play them for you when he senses you're feeling a little off. That's just what he does. He's been shown to do that with the crew already, if it's too quiet, a lot of tension, or he feels the situation calls for it, he cracks a joke or plays some music for the crew. He would do the exact same for you.
Jinbei
• What he needs/responds best to:
Not gonna lie, i dont know if I have he greatest grasp on Jinbei as a character yet, so I'm not 100% sure what love language he would respond best to. However, I am leaning more towards acts of service. I just feel as though there's no better way to make Jinbei feel loved other than going out of your way to alleviate the stress in his life, even if that means talking sense into the straw hats so he doesn't have to (LMAOOOOO).
• What he gives
Like Robin, I believe Jinbei to be really good with his words making words of affirmation to be a love language he uses. He's been seen a few times trying to talk sense into Luffy, and because of this, I feel as though he'd be really good at encouraging, complimenting, and empathizing with his partner. Also, Jinbei is good at analyzing a situation, seeing what needs to be done and then doing it. It happened many times in Marineford (and I think in whole cake island). Acts of service is likely to be another love language he would use for his significant other.

Skin
Natasha x reader x Bucky
When a person was born, the name of their soulmate was printed onto their skin. It made new parents relieved to know that their child had a perfect match in the world.
Your parents were not soulmates. Neither had ever met theirs and fell in love with each other. Their union had produced you, and when you were born, you had two names printed onto your skin.
Natalia Romanova and James Barnes.
Triads were not an uncommon occurrence in the world, but not everyone was as accepting of fates design.
Your father didn't believe in triads, he thought by having two names you would choose one and abandon the other. As you grew older, it became clear to you your father did not believe in soulmates.
You didn't like the notion of abandoning one of your soulmates. The idea made you a little sick, to be honest. You thought yourself to be very lucky, you had not one but two soulmates. It wasn't something everyone could say.
As a child, your only dream was to find the two tattooed on your skin. You had no idea how soon you would be meeting them.
Non-reader POV
The Red Room did not often associate with HYDRA. There was no grudge, just a case of not having the same goals. Today was one of the handfuls of times they had to meet.
"It's come to our attention that you have something we want." The HYDRA director said, lounging in his chair.
"I don't have a clue what you're talking about." Madame B. mused, staring the man down.
"Natalia Romanova." He clarified. "And we have James Barnes."
"You seem to believe that means something to us." Madame B. smirked. "We don't encourage soulmates, and we certainly aren't going to let you take one of our girls."
"We don't want to take one of your girls." The director informed her. "We've been having some issues with our boy. He's not freezing as he used to, and when the asset is awake, it seems to believe it has control."
"What does my girl have anything to do with your solider?"
"Your girl could help us control him. Allow them to meet, form the bond, and it will serve as a reminder for them to follow commands. In return, we will provide her with extra training." The director bargained.
"She is already getting the best education she could." Madame B. scoffed. "What better could you possibly provide?"
"From James Barnes himself. The Winter Soldier." The man smirked as he spoke the ghost tale's name.
"This all sounds well and good, but my girl has a third soulmate."
"As does the asset," The director assured her. "We've already planned for her extraction. She'll ensure the asset and your girl understand there are consequences. What do you think, Madame? Shall we continue negotiations?"
"Yes. Yes, I do believe we shall." Madame B. smiled.
Reader POV
"Happy birthday, sweetheart." Your mother greeted you that morning with a smile. "Big, big day. You're eighteen, maybe you'll meet your soulmates."
"Soulmate." Your father cut in from over his newspaper. "You only need one soulmate."
"Perhaps I'll never meet either of them. Like the two of you." You said, sitting at the table.
"Ignore your father. He's especially cynical before his coffee." Your mother rolled her eyes.
"And you're especially bubbly with it." He muttered.
"Do you have any plans for today, sweetheart?" Your mother asked in a loud tone as she flitted about the small kitchen.
"Not really." You admitted, feeling uncomfortable. "I was just going to work on my painting."
"You should go outside more." Your father told you gruffly. "You're so pale, you need more sunlight."
"Leave her alone, Jack." Your mother sighed.
"Whatever, Marie." He said, standing from the table. "I'm going for a smoke."
"Your father is a difficult man when he wants to be." Your mother commented.
"Why do you stay with him?" You asked her. "He's not your soulmate, and half the time he acts like that."
"It doesn't matter, I love him, and he loves me. Love is complicated, my darling." She explained.
"What would you do if you did meet your soulmate?" You quizzed her.
"Talk to them." Your mother smiled. "I would get to know them, sit with them, and I would explain why I married another."
"Would you leave dad for them?"
"I don't know." She answered. "I truly don't know."
You had left the kitchen shortly after your conversation with your mother. Returning to your room, you had fitted in your headphones and drowned out the world.
You weren't sure how long it had been since you zoned out. The sun had shifted across the room many times by the time you turned off your music.
With your music silenced, you heard screams, crashes, and gunshots coming from downstairs. A part of you wished to run downstairs and fight whatever was attacking your home, but the intelligent part of you won out.
With haste, you rushed towards your desk and shoved the item in front of your door. Barricading yourself in, you rushed for your phone. As several booming thuds hit the door, you dialed 911 with shaking hands.
A shriek left your lips as the door splintered.
"Hello? My home is being broken into. I live at 890 Real Street. Please hurry, I think my parents are dead." You said quickly, letting out another scream as your door was thrown open.
You had no weapon, making it very easy for the men to knock the phone out of your hands and push you into the wall.
"Get off me!" You cried, struggling against a burly man. "Please, let me go! Let me go!"
None of the men seemed moved by your pleas as one passed over a rag to the one holding you. You tried to hold your breath as the cloth was placed to your mouth and nose but failed.
The world went dark quickly, and you collapsed into the man's arms.
With a loud gasp, your body shot upwards as you finally awoke. Your eyes widened as you took in your unfamiliar surroundings, and continued to grow as you noticed people sitting in front of you. In front of you, sat a man, maybe ten years older than yourself, and a girl about your age.
Once they saw you were awake, the girl made to move towards you. Before she could get close to you, you pushed yourself into the corner behind you.
"Vse normal'no. My ne sobirayemsya delat' tebe bol'no." The woman said, raising her hands.
"Vy v bezopasnosti s nami." The man added.
"I, I don't speak Russian." You stuttered, praying they could understand. "Please, I don't know what's going on. Do either of you speak English?"
"You don't have to be scared with us." The woman said in perfect English. "We're not going to hurt you."
"Where am I? Why was I taken?" You asked her.
"Unfortunately, we're the reason you're here." The man sighed, lifting his shirt to reveal your name and Natalia's.
"James." You breathed. "I take it, that means you're Natalia." You said, turning to the woman.
"I'm sorry." Natalia apologized. "Neither of us thought they would take you."
"Where exactly am I?"
"You're in Russia. In a HYDRA facility." James informed you. "I'm sorry, but this is to be your new home."
Seven years. You had been trapped in this HYDRA facility for seven years.
You had attempted escape three times, and each failed. The results of said attempts were nightmares you did not wish on your worst enemy.
James lived in the compound but was often out on missions or frozen for months at a time. Collectively you had spent two months with him per year.
Natalia, on the other hand, was stationed in a place she called the Red Room. She told you, you were her reward. If she did well during the week, she was allowed to see you for a handful of hours during the weekend.
For the first few months, you had been terrified. You barely spoke to anyone, let alone your soulmates, and you were too scared to sleep. You overheard some of the soldiers talking, telling each other the director was mad at the lack of bonding between the three of you.
After your fourth month in the compound, you had been dragged out of your room and into another room. A place you would call hell.
It felt like a decade had passed when the torture stopped. You were barely conscious when James lifted you into his arms and took you back to your room.
Imprinting is what Natalia called it. They thought by hurting you and having Natalia and James fix you up, you would turn to them and eventually garner feelings for them.
The three of you had a real conversation that night. They explained their lives or revealed what little they were allowed to. You spoke of your previous existence, a lump in your throat the whole time. The two were allowed to stay much longer than they had in past months, and you felt you finally knew who your soulmates were.
Seven years later, you were still trapped. Still locked away, under a much stricter lock and key than at your arrival, in this hell hole.
"Look who's awake," Natalia said, entering your cell, pulling James behind her.
"You're back." You sighed happily, jumping from the bed and throwing your arms around him as the door closed.
"I'm back, kotenok." He confirmed, tightening his arms around you.
"If you're back, that means you're going on a mission." You said as the two of you pulled apart.
"Both of us are," Natalia said, sitting on the small bed. "We're going on a mission the day after tomorrow."
"They've never let the two of you on missions together." You commented.
"We were surprised too." James nodded. "But orders are orders, and we do what we're told."
"You don't need to tell me that, James." You said. "I'm well aware of how orders work around here."
"Sorry, kotenok," James said, looking away from you.
"No, I'm sorry, that was rude." You apologized, squeezing his hand. "You don't deserve that."
"Are you okay, kisa?" Natalia asked you. "You seem on edge."
"I got new guards today." You admitted, not looking at either of them. "They just put me on edge."
"Did they do something to you?" James questioned you, lifting your chin.
"No, they didn't do anything." You mumbled.
"We've spent too long together for that to fool either of us." Natalia snorted. "What did they do?"
"They actually do anything." You insisted. "One made a couple comments about taking me off your hands, and the other is very dedicated to HYDRA. A little bit too much."
"I'll kill him," James growled.
"No, you can't." You told him. "If either of you does anything, you're going to get punished. They're going to hurt you, I'll be fine. I don't see people often, I won't have to see them."
"I should gut him. Give me the name of the one who said it." Natalia demanded.
"Nat, I don't know his name. It's fine. All the guards know not to touch me. They just like their little jokes." You rolled your eyes, sitting on the bed with her.
"It's because they all sit watching us through the camera," James grumbled, standing in front of the two of you. Blocking the camera from seeing the two of you.
"Will I get to see you when you come back?" You asked, looking between the two.
"Hopefully." Natalia smiled. "But even we're not sure when we'll be back."
"What she means is we're not sure if I'll be put back in the freezer." He said.
"You're never going to let the freezer thing go, are you?" You asked, managing a weak smile.
"Probably not." Natalia smiled. "If it makes you feel better, I've been
given permission to stay at the base overnight."
"Really?" You asked, eyebrows raising in surprise.
"Yeah." She nodded. "I have to train with J in the morning, so it was decided it was easier for me to stay the night."
"And we were informed that they want our bond to strengthen further, so we're allowed to stay in here tonight," James said, stepping forward and taking one of yours and Natalia's hands.
"So, they want us to try again?" You stuttered, swallowing against the lump in your throat.
There were many reasons you had been brought into the HYDRA compound. To control James, join them with the Red Room, and produce the future of HYDRA.
They wanted you to breed with James.
It wasn't until you were twenty that this became an idea. The three of you had strengthed the bond, and it suddenly gave the handler ideas.
Seven years they'd forced the idea of breeding, and for seven years, it had failed. So far, there was no possibility of children. Something you were incredibly grateful for.
"Yes, that was the implication," James said, not looking at you.
"I love that my one act of defiance is not giving these assholes any children." You chuckled without humor.
"You shouldn't have been brought here," Natalia said, taking your hand. "You should've been allowed to live a life, get married to someone else, be with your family, anything just not this."
"I'll be the first to admit, I don't want to be here." You started, looking at her. "I've never wanted to be here, but I wouldn't go back. I couldn't go back. I wasn't happy before, I'm still not a hundred percent satisfied, but the two of you are my saving light." You told them.
"You're too sweet, kotenok," James said with a small smile.
"Too sweet for your own good," Natalia added, squeezing your hand three times in quick succession.
Natalia and James were very shut off people because of what they'd had to do in life. The words 'I love you' did not come naturally to them, resulting in the three of you coming up with the hand squeezing to substitute it.
Squeezing both their hands, you pulled James onto the bed with you and Natalia.
Few words were exchanged that night as the three of you laid in your small bed. The times you were allowed to all spend together were few and far between. Instead of worrying when you would all see each other again, you were simply enjoying the time. Enjoying the comfort, you all brought each other.
"I have news from the lab." A dark-haired guard said as he entered your cell. "Unfortunately, you're not pregnant."
"Right then." You nodded, staring at the wall. Natalia and James had been gone for two weeks, and you were slowly losing it.
"You don't seem to understand how important it is for you to be pregnant." The guard growled, moving towards you.
"I probably don't." You rolled your eyes.
"You are weakening HYDRA." The man snarled. "You are turning our soldier soft! You are not producing our next super-soldiers! Weakening us from the inside out. Are you committed to HYDRA?"
"Not particularly." You said, narrowing your eyes at him. "You kidnapped me, and murdered my family. I'm not exactly your number one advocate."
"HYDRA will one day establish a new world order. And we will do that with the asset and the Black Widow. We do not need you." He said as he advanced towards you.
You attempted to dodge the man but were grabbed by the back of the neck. A cry left your mouth as the man's gun was brought down upon your temple until you blacked out.
The next few hours were a haze. You could briefly remember the man taking a scalpel to your soul marks, slicing the skin off your forearm only for their names to reappear. They would appear with burning pain on different parts of your body every time he would attempt to erase their names.
You could remember the man throwing the scalpel down in a fit of rage. Screaming at you and nothing in German.
The last thing you could clearly make out was the man taking you into his arms and sneaking you towards the cryotubes.
"They'll kill you." You weakly snapped as he locked you in the tube. "They'll make it hurt."
"They're not going to do anything to me. You died of natural causes." He smirked, before setting the machine.
You raised a hand to the small window, and the world froze, leaving you in the dark for years to come.
Non-reader POV
Natalia and James never returned to the bunker. They overheard a conversation between two of the men with them, detailing the death of their Y/N.
Anyone who came across them in the next three days could only describe them in two ways. Robotic and bloodthirsty.
It was a miracle when they didn't kill Clint Barton on sight. The things he said on that mission, things about choice, making their own way, leaving their own marks, had resonated with things Y/N had said.
With one look, Natalia and James knew they were both thinking the same thing.
It had been three years since their defections from HYDRA and the Red Room. Three years since the death of Y/N, and the shattering of James' brainwashing.
The two had joined the SHIELD first and then later the Avengers. Steve and Clint were the only two on the team to know of the two's shared soulmate. Though they suspected Fury and Wanda knew.
There was one day a year Natasha and Bucky asked for the team to leave them alone. Y/N's birthday. They asked for no contact with anyone so they could grieve privately for the loss of Y/N.
This year, they couldn't seem to respect their wishes.
"I know it's your day off, but you're needed," Clint said, standing by the doorway.
"Unless the world is being invaded by aliens again, I think you can handle it," Bucky said, running his fingers down Natasha's back.
"Okay, let me rephrase this. There's someone you need to see."
"Who?" Natasha asked, trying not to purr at the feeling of Bucky's fingers on her skin.
"He works for HYDRA. Fury brought him in, and he keeps mentioning the two of you." Clint explained.
"Everyone in HYDRA knows us, Clint." Natasha pointed out. "It's not a new thing."
"He also brought up Y/N," Clint said, causing the two soulmates to freeze. "Steve's got the team handled for now, but this guy seems to know a lot about her."
"Take me to him," Natasha demanded, rising to her feet. Her face was hard, and her gaze rivaled Medusa's at that moment.
Clint did not say anything as he led both the soulmates to the tower's holding area. Bucky and Natasha were clutching each other's hands as they stared into the one-way glass.
"Do you know him?" Steve asked, approaching the trio.
"Unfortunately." Natasha deadpanned before entering the room, Bucky right behind her. "I should have killed you three years ago."
"We all know you were in too deep for that." The man said, smirking at the two.
"Lucky for me, I'm not in deep anymore," Natasha smirked, circling behind the man, and slamming his head into the steel table.
Bucky smiled as the man cried out. His face covered in blood, dripping from his clearly broken nose.
"You are the reason our soulmate is dead. I know it." Natasha snarled, tightening her grip on his hair.
"I didn't kill her!" The man exclaimed.
"Don't play dumb, Gideon," Bucky growled, stepping closer. Gideon's eyes widened as he noticed Bucky's mechanical arm shifting. "You were her guard. You were the one who reported it. There is no-one else who could have done it!" He said, slamming his fist into the table.
"I'm not lying, she's not dead!" Gideon stated, flinching at the loud noise.
"Bullshit!" Natasha yelled, slamming his head into the table again.
"She's not! I swear! She's alive! In cryostasis!" Gideon cried out, spitting out blood in his mouth.
Both Natasha and Bucky froze at the statement.
"Explain," Bucky growled.
"She was ruining HYDRA. She wasn't pregnant, and she was weakening you. She had to go. I tried to cut her marks out, attempted to bleed her out, but she kept healing. Her marks kept reappearing." Gideon stammered.
"She was injected with serums like mine. You should've known that." Bucky snarled, seeing red at what he was hearing.
"I didn't, I swear! And when she wasn't dying, I got scared! If anyone found out, I would be killed. I panicked, and I threw her into a cryo chamber! No-one ever found her!"
"You son of a bitch," Natasha gnarled, letting go of him and stepping towards Bucky. "She's still there?" Natasha confirmed.
"Yes! Yes, she's still there." Gideon nodded.
"You better pray she's still there and alive," Bucky said. "Otherwise, you'll pray for death." He chuckled darkly.
"Oh no, you're going to pray for death." Natasha corrected. "You're going to pray for a swift death as you're choking on your blood. You're going to pray as we burn you alive." She smirked as the man paled.
Bucky took her hand and led the woman out of the room. Stepping into the corridor, they saw the team waiting for them.
"Someone deal with the piece of shit in there," Natasha said, moving past everyone.
"Do you want to explain what that was in there?" Tony asked, following after the two.
"That, was well deserved," Natasha said, not looking at the man.
"Dammit, Nat." Tony cursed, managing to stop the two. "Who is Y/N?"
"Our soulmate," Bucky told him. "Someone who we thought was dead because of that scum in there."
"Are you going after her?" Tony asked, despite knowing how dumb the question was.
"Yes." Both responded in unison.
"You're going to need help," Steve stated, coming up behind Tony with the rest of the team. "You can't go running into a HYDRA base without backup."
"We're not going to force anyone to come," Natasha said. "If anyone wants to come suit up and meet us at the jet in ten." She told them before she and Bucky walked to the elevator.
"Nat, I don't know what I'll do if she's not okay. I can't go through that again." Bucky murmured as they suited up.
"She'll be okay," Natasha assured him, taking his hand and squeezing it thrice. "She has to be."
She had to be. If she wasn't, the world would burn in the wake of their despair.
"Is there a plan here? Or are we just going in, guns blazing?" Tony questioned as the jet neared the drop zone.
"Kill anyone who gets in the way, get Y/N, and get out," Bucky stated, strapping multiple guns to his form.
"I'm coming with you," Bruce said to the soulmates. "I highly doubt he treated your soulmate or set the chamber correctly. You'll need help." He told them, grabbing a medical kit.
"Agreed." Bucky nodded.
"I'll come with you to cover Bruce," Clint said, putting two sheaths of arrows on his back.
"Thank you, Clint." Natasha gave him a small smile.
"Alright, we've got ten minutes. Make sure you've got everything you need, there's no information as to whether or not this place is still running." Steve said. Everyone nodded before scattering in the jet, preparing for the fight.
"Nat, can I ask you something?" Clint murmured, standing next to Natasha as she checked over her widow bites.
Natasha gave him a quick nod.
"What did Bucky mean when he said Y/N was injected with the serum?"
"She was injected with the serum." Natasha shrugged. "It was a punishment for the three of us not attempting to bond during her first months there. She was tortured, and they wanted to see how we'd each react to her being injected."
"All because you didn't bond the way they wanted?" Clint asked, raising a brow.
"She wouldn't even talk to us during those first few months. I don't blame her. HYDRA had killed her parents and snatched her out of her life. But we had seven years together, I would burn the world if she asked and it would make her smile. I would do anything she asked if it meant I got to see her smile again." Natasha told him.
"You'll get her back," Clint assured her. "The two of you will get her back."
"Thank you, Clint." Natasha smiled.
"We're here," Steve announced.
It was time. It was time for Natasha and Bucky to get their girl back.
The base had not been empty. It had been as full as Natasha and Bucky remembered it to be three years ago. Steve had led the rest of the team in a fight against the agents as Natasha, Bucky, Bruce, and Clint snuck in.
"This way," Bucky said, moving down a corridor. The HYDRA headquarters was a labyrinth of hallways. Twists and turns, and dead ends littered the base, but Bucky and Natasha knew them all.
The path to the basement was a familiar one, to Natasha especially. She would always be asked to collect Bucky after he had been frozen.
"He said she'd be in one of the last ones," Natasha said as they entered a room filled with cryotubes.
Clint and Bruce nodded at her words before they split into their own corners.
"I found her!" Bruce called. Natasha and Bucky were by his side before he could blink.
"What do the stats say?" Bucky asked Bruce as Natasha raced towards the tube. "Can we get her out?"
"Yes, but these scans are all over the place. Some wounds were pouring blood when Y/N was put in here. Even if she was given a version of the serum, she's still human. We're going to need to be ready to close the wounds the best we can." Bruce said to him.
"We'll be able to heal her?" Natasha asked the scientist.
"As best we can." Bruce nodded. "We'll have to take her to medical, so they can fix what we've done, but it should keep her stable."
"Make it work, Bruce," Natasha said, stepping away from the tube. Bruce began setting up a makeshift medical station and informed everyone as to what they would have to do when they released Y/N from her cell.
"Okay, on the count of three. One, two, three." Bruce said, before opening the tube. Bucky grabbed the woman gently before she could hit the ground and laid her on the floor. Natasha and Clint used rags on her wounds, which began bleeding as she thawed out.
Bruce quickly began stitching up the wounds, flinching at the patches where the skin had been flayed off.
Bruce had closed two of the wounds when suddenly, Y/N's eyes snapped open, and she jolted upright.
"Y/N!"
Y/N had passed out almost as soon as she awoke. Bruce had quickly closed her open wounds, and Natasha and Bucky were able to get her onto the jet.
Y/N had been unconscious for three days now. Bucky and Natasha had not left her side once, despite the multiple attempts for Steve.
"YA obespokoyen." Natasha murmured to Bucky. "Ona do sikh por ne prosnulas'." Bucky knew she must be incredibly tired to slip back into Russian.
"She'll wake up, I know she will." He told her, taking her free hand.
"No chto, yesli ona etogo ne sdelayet?" Natasha asked him. "YA ne mogu snova yeye poteryat'."
"Natasha, she will pull through," Bucky said, looking her in the eyes. "YA tebya lyublyu." He said, squeezing her hand thrice.
"YA tozhe tebya lyublyu." She smiled, leaning over to kiss him.
"I still don't understand Russian." A croaky voice said, garnering a gasp from Natasha. As she and Bucky turned around, smiles crossed both their faces as they saw hazy E/C staring at them. "I should probably start learning."
"You probably should." Natasha smiled as her eyes began to water.
Both Natasha and Bucky allowed their tears to flow as Y/N weakly squeezed their hands three times.
Reader POV
"You're beautiful, kotenok." Bucky hummed, trailing his lips down your exposed skin. A year of physical healing had done you well. Your body had healed from the years of torment at the hands of HYDRA though, there were still scars that lingered.
Particularly the scars from where the skin was removed from your body. Those scars never seemed to fade in color, remaining a bright shade of pink a year later.
But it didn’t matter to you. After all this time, you were free. You were free and you had both your soulmates at your side. Your father would be rolling in his grave.
“And you’re a charmer.” You smiled, moving your neck to give him more access.
“He’s always been like that.” Natasha smirked, running her hands down your form. “But it really comes out in the morning.”
“So does his accent.” You smiled, leaning up to kiss the woman. “So does yours. They’re sexy.”
“Good to know, doll.” Bucky drawled, pulling you closer. “I’ll have to remember that.”
“As will I.” Natasha said, curling up under your chin.
The three of you laid in the large bed for hours. The sun was high in the sky before you decided to move. And as you all dressed for breakfast, a smile was welcomed to your face at the sight of your name on your soulmates skins. And the sight of theirs on yours.
It was all you needed.

Hi! Ok, I know it isn't very related to Frobin (except if you decide to mention them in the answer), but I am curious about your opionion on this thing. If the end of One Piece have someone of the Straw Hat crew that can die, who can be? OBVIOUSLY I hope nobody, that this thing doesn't happen, but never say never. There're people who say Luffy to recreate Roger's connection. Someone else Usop (but I miss the reason). Or Jinbe, who has also some problems and enemies from previous experiences?
Hey there anon!
No worries about asking questions. This is a FRobin blog but it's also a One Piece blog so it's fine to ask all kind of questions about One Piece. Even though I wouldn't consider myself much of an *expert* so everything I write is very much influenced by my own impressions.
But you're asking for my opinion anyway so that disclaimer is not necessary in this case. XD
---
Okay, first of all: I'm no fan of death flags. I never see them and when I read about them I feel like people pull them out of nowhere.
So I don't think any of the Strawhats will die before or even while the big end fight. Also it's not like they will reach their goal and then just drop dead (don't forget the dream are very different too but more about that later). Like what kind of life would that be?
Also we can't forget that Oda still believes he is writing this story for 14 year old boys. So, even though death is and will be a theme I don't think he will kill off the main crew.
That would not be very clever story wise and is not how to tell a story about adventure and fulfilling dreams for young boys.
Right now it's very "fashionable" to let characters die for shock value. But the more it's done the more annoying it becomes and less of a shock and Oda won't stoop so low to use this kind of element. Why do I think that?
So far we had three deaths in OP and they all shocked us a lot. But they were also used as motivator for other characters. Whitebeards death was a motivator for a whole new Generation of pirates, as well as his crew to try to save Ace and his little brother. Ace's death was a launch of character development for Luffy, Sabo, Garp and even Sengoku and probably more. Pedros death was a motivator for Carrot and other Minks. (Even the fake death of Pell was a huge motivator for Vivi. Interestingly compared to other deaths his sacrifice did not stop the war, which would have been an adequate impact. So him coming back alive actually makes sense.)
But look how few and far between they are. Of course there was more death but the important ones are kept as those.
Why am I talking about that? Who would benefit from a Strawhats death?
Literally no one. They are all already motivated to go until the end for each other. It's more likely that a death would cause Luffy to just give up, him becoming catatonic again.
Who would Luffy fight for if he even loses one of his crew mates? Or maybe two?
If I were a Marine I would try to make Luffy think that his friends are dead and then catch him but that is beside the point.
But for One Piece, a Strawhat death it would not move the story further. There is no additional motivator needed and that would be the only reason to kill one of the crew.
Killing a Strawhat makes no sense in my opinion.
A death would only make sense after they reached their goal.
So it is possible that we see the Strawhats die but long after the story came to an end, them reaching Laugh Tale (if that is the end). And yes, I think all of them will die of natural causes and/or sickness. Most of them at an old age. I think Luffy, Zoro or Usopp being the firsts because of the trauma their bodies had endured would make most sense.
I hope that answered your question anon... and anyone who does not want to read even more about my nonsense can stop here.
But let me break down why I think that all Strawhats have plot armor against death flags, behind the read-more.
-> It is very important that I think the huge clash with the Blackbeard Pirates, which will be the end fight, will happen right before Laugh Tale. And Laugh Tale is the end-goal and the end of the main story. (I MIGHT BE WRONG!!!)<-
Everyones own story can only end after they reached their goal so let's look why I think that these dreams give the Strawhats Plot Armor.
Luffy: Become the king of the pirates. That means he has to reach Laugh Tale. I often hear that Luffy will die early because of the parallel to Roger. That does not mean he won't reach his 40s or 50s. Even after reaching Laugh Tale Roger lived a bit longer and even had time to "make a child" so, killing off Luffy in the end fight makes no sense. So maybe dying after the fight, on Laugh Tale? That could happen and would be the earliest death of any Strawhat imo.
Zoro: Become the strongest sword fighter. That means he still has to kill Mihawk. I don't think Mihawk will go and look for Zoro. So, Zoro has to survive and then return to Mihawk and have his duel. No sense in killing off Zoro. I am 100% sure that he will survive until then.
Nami: Drawing a world map. For that Nami has to travel the world many times more. After they reached Laugh Tale, Nami has only finished part of her dream. She has to visit all of the Blues, travel the Grand Line and the New world multiple times. Drawing a Map of the world will take a lifetime. Her dream will take the longest to be fulfilled.
Usopp: Become the great warrior of the sea. Now here we have a dream that is not really tangible. Usopp will be a great warrior as soon as he realises that he is one. In my opinion he already managed to become a great warrior. Time and time again he has shown how amazing he is but this is all about his own self image and so hard to grasp. This actually makes Usopp the most likely to have a death flag BUT we can't forget that he still has to return home and tell his stories to Kaya and the Usopp pirates. It's part of a promise that is only secondary but for me it's enough to think Usopp too is safe until he did that.
Sanji: To find the All Blue. Sanji thinks that the All Blue is something physical. We can't know that and if it is physical we can consider that it's maybe a part of the New World near the Red Line where all seas somehow come together. So again, until Sanji found that place he hasn't fulfilled his dream. And since I think that would be BEHIND Laugh Tale, again I think Sanji is safe. Alternatively the All Blue is just a metaphor for something completely different but I can't hink about what.
Chopper: To cure all illness. Here too, this is something that takes time. Chopper is still only at the beginning of his career of being a doctor. Finding a magical cure for every illness that exists is not something that just happens. Logically he would need to talk with many other medical experts and together they might be able to find it. When and how and if that happens is impossible to say but again that would be something that would fit best in the time after reaching Laugh Tale.
Robin: To find the truth of the void century. Right now we figure that she will find that at the end of their travel, on Laugh Tale. Maybe it will happen earlier in case the Strawhats storm the World Government. Either way she will learn the truth. But that will not be the end to her. After learning the truth it's up to Robin to bring it to the world, to write it down, to teach, to make people understand that they can't erase history and that they have to learn from it. Again, that is something that takes time and so, truly fulfilling her dream.
Franky: To travel the world in the ship of his dreams. Again that is a vague dream. But it would mean to at least return to Water Seven, so that Sunny has traveled the world once. But even then it's only been a small part of the world and traveling the world would mean to visit at least every of the seas. So far, Sunny had been in two to four, depending on how much you take the movies into account. But to fulfill Franky's dream he needs to survive a bit longer and so does Sunny.
Brook: To meet Laboon again. This is simple. But for that Brook has to reach the end of the New World and then get over the Red Line again. What he will do after that is hard to tell. But again, the Red Line is behind Laugh Tale and so I'm sure Brook too, has to survive... even though he is already dead YOHOHO!
Jinbe: Equality between merfolk and humans. Again this is something that is no easy feat and will probably take more than one generation. Also it is not only up to him and more to Shirahoshi and the World Government. This dream is about teamwork too, but who could be a better ambassador for the merfolk than him? Losing Jinbe would be a huge backfire for the cause. Jinbe too is safe in my opinion. If you have reached the end of the post, let me tell you again my headcanon about FRobin: After the main adventure Franky and Robin return to Water Seven where Franky helps to turn W7 into a boat and after that is done, they travel to the island where Ohara used to be and there they rebuild the island. More people return and it again becomes a hub for scholars and history.

Hearts With(out) Chains Chapter 12
Fandom: One Piece Rating: PG-13 Pairings: Gen (eventual Lawlu) Words: 4629 Characters: Trafalgar Law, Monkey D. Luffy, Nami, Chopper, Usopp, Brook, Zoro, Nami, Franky, Smoker, Tashigi, Doflamingo Notes: I’m taking my turn at the Corazon!Law AU because my brain won’t leave me alone until this is written down. Tags will be updated as the chapters come out.
The story title is based on the Ellie Goulding song “Hearts Without Chains.”
The nickname Doflamingo uses for Law in this chapter is a nod to the story “Worth” by Doctor_Cyance.
Warning: This chapter contains the description of a panic attack.
Summary: Law is reclaimed by the Family when he's 17 and, with Doflamingo holding the lives of his crew as collateral for his good behavior, eventually becomes the third Corazon. Years later, trapped by his impossible situation, Law finds a strange connection to Monkey D. Luffy, which offers a glimpse of something he's repeatedly had ripped away from him: hope.

After leaving the control room, Law followed the echoing cacophony of the fully collected Straw Hat crew through the halls of the lab. Smoker trailed behind him, tension on the acrid air surrounding him. The moment Law had realized what he’d let the vice admiral hear about his past, he’d debated whether to let Smoker return to the Marines with that information. But the feeling of Vergo’s heartbeat stopping in his hand was still fresh in his mind, and he didn’t particularly feel like ending yet another life today after everything that had happened.
If the other man tried to talk to him about it, though… Well, Law couldn’t make any promises then.
As he walked, Law considered his situation. With Vergo dead, the main source of the rumor of Law’s disloyalty was gone. Law had the dead man’s Den Den Mushi in his pocket, and even if he had recorded Law’s words, Law would simply destroy the recording. For a brief moment, Law considered ending his partnership with the Straw Hats since he’d taken care of his main target, but he dismissed the idea almost as soon as it crossed his mind. Law could pretend he’d never seen Vergo on Punk Hazard, but Doflamingo would hear of Vergo’s death eventually, and, considering the cause of death, there would be no mistaking who had killed him.
Not to mention, Law had obviously failed in the mission he’d been sent to complete—and he couldn’t imagine finishing it now. Not when he couldn’t shake the startled recognition that had struck him as he and Straw Hat had shaken hands that the pull in his chest had gone still, as though Law were where he was meant to be.
No, even with Vergo dead, Law was still just as stuck as he had been the moment Vergo had arrived on the island. He had no choice—either for himself or his nakama—but to continue on the path he was on.
Laughs and shouts bounced off the lab’s metal walls, and, as Law and his stewing shadow approached the source, Law recalled the blueprints he’d been provided; this must be the Biscuit Room, he thought as he stepped into the large, colorful space. He’d wondered at the name as he’d pored over the schematics on his way over, but now he understood. Smoker stepped up next to him and made a disapproving sound at the sight of what was clearly a space for children—children who had become science experiments for a mad clown.
Law narrowed his eyes, assessing the scene in front of him. It seemed the Straw Hats had taken care of their enemies with alacrity. Both Caesar and Monet were wrapped in what Law hoped were Seastone chains (he had warned them) and slumped against the wall. The cat burglar stood not far from them, hands on her hips and a small smile curving her lips as she watched the antics of her crewmates. Smoker’s second stood on the other side of the captives, clearly having taken it upon herself to guard them. G-5 soldiers milled about close to the swordswoman, refusing to fully engage with the pirates.
“Oh, Torao! You’re here!”
Law looked up to see Straw Hat across the room. He was perched atop the back of a couch next to Zoro, who appeared to be dozing. Long Nose sat across from them, his slingshot in hand. It looked like they’d been in the middle of a lively conversation before Law had caught the other captain’s attention. Nico Robin sat next to Long Nose, one leg crossed primly over the other and her hands clasped in her lap. She was smiling, as though enjoying whatever her nakama were discussing. The cyborg sat on the floor next to her. The skeleton, for his part, was wandering around the room, playing a jaunty tune on a violin. (At this point, Law didn’t have it in him to question where that had come from.)
That left the tanuki, Black Leg, and the samurai. Considering none of the children were present, Law had a feeling he knew what the little doctor was up to, anyway. Law idly wondered if he was having any luck treating the children before shoving the thought aside; he didn’t like thinking about his own history with looking to other doctors for help.
“Straw Hat-ya,” Law replied, stepping further into the room.
“What happened to that Verto guy?”
Law tightened his grip on Kikoku briefly. “Dead.”
Straw Hat simply nodded, but outraged noises erupted from the other side of the room. Law turned to look at the prisoners.
“What?” Caesar gasped loudly. “But he’s—”
“So, he was right,” Monet said, the quiet betrayal in her voice more painful than Law had expected it to be. “You were a traitor after all. I didn’t believe him when he told us.”
Though he hated the Family as a whole for what they had taken from him—and continued to take as they held his crew’s lives over his head—Law had spent years with people like Monet once he’d been brought to Dressrosa. And he didn’t hate them all as individuals. Monet was a lot like Law himself, having been rescued by the Family after an unspeakable trauma along with her sister. But, unlike Law, she hadn’t been freed from the corrosive influence of the Donquixote Pirates. She’d been fully indoctrinated and would never believe the truth of who Doflamingo truly was that Law had witnessed on Minion Island. Doffy had her undying loyalty.
Law’s jaw tightened. “He didn’t give me much choice.”
“I can’t believe you teamed up with these… idiots,” Caesar said, lips curling in disgust as he looked at the Straw Hats.
“Idiots?” the cyborg called. “That’s super rude.”
“These idiots kicked your butt,” Long Nose reminded him, aiming an empty sling shot in his direction. “So, what does that say about you?”
Caesar made some incomprehensible frustrated noises in response, but Monet simply looked at Law, her usually placid expression tinged with hurt. “Why, Corazon? After everything the Young Master’s given you?”
Law snorted, an ugly sound that caused Monet to recoil. He knew exactly where he stood with Doflamingo—the Warlord’s tool and plaything and the means to an end—and none of it was for Law’s sake.
It was never for anyone’s sake but his own.
Doflamingo liked to act like he was generous with his Family, but all he really knew how to do was take. He gave but took twofold in return—his gifts came with strings, literally and figuratively. The cost was unflinching allegiance to a madman, pieces of one’s soul irreparably damaged by every act of loyalty, every drop of blood spilled in the name of a man who believed himself a god. And the Family was happy to pay the price; Law once had felt the same before he’d been saved.
Doflamingo was also unflinching in taking from those who refused to pay fealty. He’d taken Cora-san all those years ago for saving Law. He’d taken Law’s and his friends’ freedom on a no-name island in the North Blue. He took the very existences of his enemies in Dressrosa, using Sugar’s abilities to erase them from memory and enslave them as toys.
It was fitting, Law had thought when he’d first learned of the scope of the operation in the kingdom; Doflamingo was a puppet master, literally pulling strings. He saw others as his toys to play with as he wished. Law was nothing more than another one of those toys, though a supposedly privileged one, sitting on the Heart Throne. But it was nothing more than a gilded cage. Law’s eventual purpose was still to die for Doflamingo’s immortality. After everything else he’d taken from Law, he also intended to take Law’s life. And he expected Law to give it willingly; anything else would break the illusion of Doflamingo’s complete control.
“He’s given me nothing,” Law replied coldly. Nothing that he hadn’t taken back countless times over as he whittled Law down into the shape he wanted as his Corazon, anyway.
Monet opened her mouth to reply, but she was cut off by a loud wail as the Straw Hats’ little doctor came out of a side room.
“Chopper, what’s wrong?” the cat burglar asked, hurrying to his side.
“I’ve tried everything I can think of,” he said, “but the drugs in their system are just too strong, and I don’t fully understand their interactions.”
“Of course, they’re strong,” Caesar sniffed. “I made them, and I’m a genius.”
“Shut up, clown,” Nami hissed before turning back to her crewmate. “So, what does that mean?”
“If I can’t get the drugs out of their system, they won’t get better,” the tanuki sniffed. “I can treat the symptoms, but I can’t cure them.”
“Let Torao take a look!”
Law jerked in surprise as rubbery limbs wound tightly around his shoulders and the too-loud voice rang in his ears. (His concussion complained with a painful pang in response, and Law winced.) He hadn’t even noticed Straw Hat moving from the couch. Law prodded at him with Kikoku’s hilt in a futile attempt to dislodge him, but Straw Hat just grinned at him.
The Straw Hats’ doctor eyed Law uncertainly. “I don’t know, Luffy…”
“He’s a good doctor,” Luffy said with a decisive nod. “He saved me.”
After several failed attempts to detach the other captain—the freaking limpet—Law sighed and satisfied himself with the biggest eyeroll he could manage.
“Do you think that’s a good idea, Luffy?” the cat burglar asked. Her suspicions remained, and Law could respect that. Someone on this crew needed to exercise some common sense.
“Torao can look at them,” Straw Hat said, unswayed.
“Don’t I get a say in this?” Law demanded. Being talked about like he wasn’t present was one of his (admittedly many) pet peeves.
“Shishishi,” Straw Hat chuckled. “You’ll look at them, won’t you?”
In hindsight, as Law followed the tanuki to the room he’d been seeing the children in, he’d like to say he agreed because disagreeing with Straw Hat over it would be too much trouble, and, with his head injury, he didn’t have it in him to argue. But the truth was that there was something in the wide, trusting grin Straw Hat effortlessly threw in his direction and the responding warmth in his chest that made the agreement roll off his tongue before he could stop it.
He listened with half an ear as the tanuki explained what he’d already tried with the children and what he’d found. Though Law wasn’t privy to the exact goings-on in the lab, he had a sense of how ugly some of the projects Doflamingo had his fingers in were, so nothing he heard surprised him.
“L-look, Corazon,” the little doctor said once he finished his recitation, voice trembling slightly as he turned to face Law, hooves on his hips. “These kids have been through a lot. They’re scared and in pain and want to go home. D-don’t make it worse, okay? O-or I’ll kick your ass myself!”
Law had never seen anything less intimidating—and his best friend was a polar bear mink, which said something—but he still respected the sentiment. That protective instinct toward a patient was the attitude a true healer should have, one Law had seen in his parents as they fought for the people of Flevance while it was ravaged by plague. And, despite all the blood he’d spilled over the years, it was a feeling he could feel stirring deep, deep within himself, too.
“I’ll keep that in mind,” Law replied. “You probably shouldn’t be here while I work, though.”
“What? Why?”
“My methods are… unorthodox,” Law settled on. Though the Ope Ope no Mi’s effects were bloodless and painless, that didn’t make them any less disturbing to most people who saw them.
The tanuki hemmed and hawed for several moments, and Law felt his impatience growing until he just opened a Room and approached the kids. The little doctor yelped and followed him.
“You’re that man from outside,” one of the kids said as Law approached, frowning at him.
“I am,” Law agreed.
“What are you going to do to us?” another child asked, arms crossed defensively.
Law felt his eye twitch at the assumption he was there to hurt them, but Law had attacked the people who were trying to help them escape. He wasn’t entirely sure what to say—he knew a thing or two about being a traumatized child, but that didn’t make him an expert on dealing with others.
“Corazon here is a doctor,” the tanuki said, coming up next to Law.
That piqued the interest of some of the children.
“A doctor?”
“Like you?
“What kind of name is Corazon, anyway?”
“Law.” Everyone turned to look at him in surprise. “That’s my name,” he clarified, startling even himself. “Corazon is a title, but…” But he didn’t work for the Donquixote Family anymore now that he’d sided with the Straw Hats, did he?
He glanced down to see the Straw Hat doctor looking at him curiously. “What?” he demanded, feeling suddenly uncomfortable, like he was being looked through rather than at. He couldn’t help but be reminded of Bepo when looking at the small creature, and Bepo had always known Law better than anyone—often better than Law himself.
“Nothing,” the little doctor squeaked before looking back at the kids. “Doctor Law here is going to look at you. I’ll be just outside if you need me!”
With that, he glanced back at Law once more then left the room, closing the door behind him. Law, curious at the tanuki’s sudden agreement to leave Law and the kids alone, turned back to the children. He took a breath and unsheathed Kikoku to perform a Scan.
-----
Once Law was finished his work, he left the delighted children chattering to each other about what it was like having their body parts removed and opened the door. The Straw Hat’s doctor was sitting just outside, and he perked up at Law’s appearance.
“Well?”
“I was able to remove all traces of the drugs from their system,” Law said. “But most of them will be dealing with the effects of long-term exposure. With rehab, they should all be fine.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes,” Law said, slightly annoyed at having his professional opinion questioned. Though he didn’t truly blame the tanuki; whatever Caesar had been experimenting on with these children, he’d given them some incredibly potent drug combinations that Law had never seen. Anyone without the power of Law’s fruit would have had a hard, if not impossible, time treating these children.
As Law had initially Scanned the children and seen the degenerative effects of the drugs they’d been exposed to, he’d been reminded of the charts he’d seen in his parents’ clinic of patients with Amber Lead Disease and the devastating effects on the body; he’d had to forcibly shake himself from the memory to continue working.
He started as the tanuki hurled himself at Law and wrapped his little arms around Law’s legs. The Straw Hats were far too affectionate for Law’s comfort.
“Thank you!” he said, looking up at Law with teary eyes. “I didn’t know what I was going to do for them!”
“It’s nothing,” Law said, lightly shaking his leg in an attempt to remove the other doctor. He was finding himself saying that a lot around the Straw Hats, he realized. He wasn’t sure he wanted to examine that any more closely.
The tanuki finally released Law’s leg and wiped his eyes with a hoof. “Luffy was right.” He gave Law a weak smile. “So, thank you for this. And for saving Luffy when I couldn’t. Law.”
Law opened his mouth to wave off the thanks again, but he shut it when he heard his name. Looking at the little creature, he felt his chest clench as he was reminded of Bepo when he’d called earlier. “I knew it, Captain. I knew you were still in there.”
He thought of the small feeling of satisfaction he got from healing Black Leg’s fracture, from knowing his hands could still heal after everything else they’d done.
Maybe Bepo was right, and the boy he’d sworn to follow no matter what thirteen years earlier was still in Law somewhere. Law had long thought that boy dead in the North Blue, but Bepo had always been the wisest of the Hearts.
“They’re your patients, Tony-ya,” Law said, recalling the doctor’s name from his—frankly ludicrous—wanted poster. “I was just helping out.”
Chopper’s face lit up at Law’s use of his name, but he tried to hide his pleasure. “That doesn’t make me happy, you bastard.”
Law’s lips twitched as he left Chopper to deal with the children now that they were no longer poisoned and headed back to the Biscuit Room.
When he entered, Straw Hat perked up immediately, as though he had a radar for Law’s presence. “Oi, Torao!”
“How are the children?” Nico Robin asked, eyes following her captain’s gaze.
“I removed the drugs from their systems,” Law said. “They should be fine with some long-term treatment.”
“What?” Caesar squeaked. “You shouldn’t be able to—”
Before Law could open a Room to shut the clown up, the cat burglar smacked him on the head. “Shut up, you slimy bastard. You’re lucky Torao here was able to help the kids. If he hadn’t been able to…” She trailed off, but the implication remained.
“Still not my name,” Law muttered.
“Still doesn’t matter,” the cat burglar replied in a singsong.
Law sighed and rubbed a hand over his face then looked back up at the other Straw Hats. “Now what?” He had no idea how long he’d been working on the children, but if his waning stamina was any indication, it had been a while. It must be getting late.
“The Marines called for backup,” Nico Robin said, “but the closest ship won’t arrive until tomorrow.”
“Captain Tashigi will be taking charge of the children,” the cat burglar added, a softness in her expression. “She’ll take good care of them.”
“And our next stop is Dressroba!” Straw Hat said.
“Dressrosa,” Law corrected automatically, stomach tightening at the thought.
“From the maps, Dressrosa seems to be fairly close,” Long Nose said, pointing to some maps spread out on a table between the sofas.
“It is,” Law agreed. “Maybe half a day.”
Half a day to figure out how to extricate Law and his nakama from Doflamingo’s strings.
It wasn’t enough time.
The cat burglar nodded thoughtfully as she came up next to the table and looked at the maps. She was their navigator, if Law remembered correctly. “It’s too late to set sail tonight,” she said. “We thought we’d leave in the morning.”
Law nodded curtly. “Fine.”
“So, you want to tell us what we’re walking into when we get there?” Zoro asked, arms crossed and eye narrowed.
Law opened his mouth to respond, but he was interrupted by the muted sound of ringing. Law reached into his coat pocket and found his Den Den Mushi waiting to be answered.
There was only one person that could be.
“Shit,” Law cursed.
He had no interest in letting the Straw Hats or Marines overhear this call, so he quickly formed a Room and Shambled into the first space that came to mind: the control room. He landed on the couch in place of a pillow he’d switched with.
He set Kikoku to his side and stared at the snail for a moment before answering.
“Doffy.”
“Corazon,” Doflamingo replied. Law tried to listen for anything off in his voice, any sense he knew Law had really betrayed him after all. “How is the mission going?”
Law hesitated only a moment as he calculated the best response to give. “It’s done.”
“And there were no… complications?”
Law knew he was imagining it, but he couldn’t help but feel like Vergo’s corpse was staring at him from across the room.
“No. The intruders were taken care of.”
“That’s good to hear. I’ve been trying to call Monet but haven’t received a response.”
“She was injured during the fight,” Law said, the lie falling from his lips without a second thought. “I treated her wounds, and she’s currently sleeping.”
Doffy hummed in response. “I see. And Caesar?”
“The clown is locked away in his lab,” Law replied, allowing his disdain for the scientist creep into his voice. Doffy wouldn’t be surprised by it. “I don’t know how Monet puts up with him.”
Doffy chuckled. “She does it for me.”
“Of course.”
“And when do you plan to return home?”
“I’ll set sail in the morning.”
“Excellent. I knew you were the right man for this mission. Until tomorrow, little bird.”
Law grimaced at the nickname as he hung up the call. The Birdcage haunted Law’s nightmares to this day, and he felt like nothing so much as a caged bird in Doflamingo’s service—and the man knew it. The nickname had become more regular since he’d started bringing Law into his bed, an act that had truly felt like clipping his wings.
And now the little broken bird was going to try to fly again.
It would never work.
Law could feel his heartrate picking up as his thoughts started to whirl.
Like he’d told Violet that morning—had that only been this morning? It felt like a lifetime ago—he was Doflamingo’s creature, possessed by the man inside and out.
He lifted a hand to his chest, only to find his entire arm shaking.
Doflamingo was a Warlord and a former Celestial Dragon.
Heat rose in his face.
Who was Law?
Bile rose in his throat.
Doflamingo was a dragon to Law’s bird.
He was going to throw up.
What was Law doing?
Law pushed himself to his feet and took a few unsteady steps forward and managed to round the couch, but his vision spun in front of him.
What was he thinking?
His feet tangled under him with his next step, and he crashed to the floor behind the couch.
He was going to get his nakama killed with this futile venture.
His breaths came in jagged pants, his tight chest struggling to inhale and exhale, and all he could hear was rushing in his ears.
Everything Law had done for the last nine years had been to keep his nakama safe, and now he was going to fail them completely.
Law’s entire body shook, and he curled in on himself.
And now he was going to get Luffy’s crew killed, too.
He screwed his eyes shut and put his hands over his ears as he struggled to breathe. The walls were closing in on him. He could feel the wood of the treasure chest beneath him and the treasure they’d shifted to fit Law into the chest at his back. The lid of the chest wouldn’t move since Cora-san had placed another chest atop it to disguise Law’s hiding place.
Law tried to summon a Room to escape, but his powers refused to cooperate, slipping through his fingers like sand.
Cora-san was going to die because he’d helped Law…
A cold sweat clung to his body.
The deafening cracks of gunshots, one after another, rang through Law’s ears and tears streamed down his face.
Law couldn’t make a sound because of Cora-san’s powers. He opened his mouth to scream but nothing came out except for ragged breaths.
He flinched hard as he felt a gentle touch on his shoulder.
Wait, a hand? Law was alone in the treasure chest.
The hand withdrew, and Law slowly opened his eyes. For a moment, all he could see was a blur in front of him—then red came into focus.
Doflamingo had worn red that night.
Law jolted backward until his back ran into something solid. He hissed through clenched teeth.
“—orao? Can you hear me?”
Law blinked slowly as a voice started to form words amidst the rushing in his ears. He felt the hand return to his shoulder, but he didn’t fight it off this time. Who—?
“Hey, Torao. It’s me. Can you hear me?”
It was Luffy.
Luffy hadn’t been on Minion Island.
Right.
Law wasn’t on Minion Island. He was on Punk Hazard.
Law wasn’t a sickly thirteen-year-old boy anymore. He was twenty-six and one of the most feared pirates in the New World.
Luffy squeezed Law’s shoulder when it was clear Law wasn’t going to freak out again.
Gradually, Law felt his heartrate slow, and his chest loosened, allowing him to take deeper breaths.
“Straw Hat-ya,” Law finally managed, voice rasping from his struggle to breathe. He pushed himself up off the floor, but his limbs felt like jelly, so he simply leaned against the back of the couch and pulled his knees up to his chest. He wrapped his arms around his knees.
Shame started to creep up the back of his neck as he realized he’d let Luffy see him having a panic attack—he hadn’t had one in years—only hours after making an alliance. He’d shown his allied captain how weak he truly was on the eve of taking on one of the most powerful men in the New World.
But Luffy simply smiled when Law acknowledged him and sat down next to Law, mirroring his position with his knees up to his chest. He rested his head on his knees and turned to look at Law.
Law resigned himself to questions about what had happened and was already considering how to reply, but Luffy surprised him.
“I used to get them after Ace died,” he said quietly. “Out in the forest alone when I trained with Rayleigh. I’d remember what happened and then I couldn’t breathe. I’d feel Ace dying in my arms and the fire in my chest all over again.” A soft smile returned. “But it got better when I saw my nakama again. They got easier to deal with when I wasn’t alone anymore.”
Looking at the other captain, Law realized that despite the grin that seemed permanently etched into Luffy’s face, he’d been through a lot in his short years. They had that in common. But where Law had retreated into himself to cope, Luffy turned outward. After coming to Dressrosa, Law had been too afraid to show any sign of weakness around the Donquixote Family, so he bottled everything up until it exploded. And the explosions tended to be violent.
“Doflamingo called,” Law said after a few silent moments by way of explanation.
“That Mingo’s a bad guy, huh?”
Law’s lips twitched tiredly at how simple Luffy made the situation. He rested his chin on the top of his knees. “Yes, he is.”
His eyes were getting heavy. Between the extended use of his fruit today and now the panic attack, Law supposed it was amazing he was even still awake. It was nothing new, though; working himself into unconsciousness was his preferred method of sleeping, despite the frequent protestations of his crew.
Law swallowed at the thought of his nakama back in Dressrosa.
“We’ll get him,” Luffy said confidently. “We’ll get Mingo, and we’ll save your nakama, Torao.”
Law grunted a response, and that seemed to be enough for Luffy.
They sat like that for a time, Luffy quieter than Law would have expected he could be. Despite the way Law’s thoughts had been a whirlwind before, they were quiet now. Gradually, Law’s eyes drifted closed, and he thought he might have felt an arm wrap around his shoulders before he went under completely.

Hibari Headcanons
that nobody asked for
Tumblr media
He likes small animals but not your usual small animals. (The way he kicked uri out in the future instead of letting the cat stay 😭) I.e he’d pick a sugar glider over a guinea pig
He hates crowds because he still hates the fact that when he was still learning to be sociable kids had the power of alienating him. He despises that group mindset that children had. In kindergarten some kids invited him to play then told him to get lost and nobody stood up for him. He has one intrusive thought and it’s that feeling. He genuinely hates crowds because it feels like an opportunity for people to get to decide who isn’t welcomed. He lowkey doesn’t want to witness that moment to happen to anyone else.
His overthinking only stops when he’s alone so he genuinely does prefer it. He doesn’t mind one or two people in an intimate setting but when it’s more he wants to disconnect.
He’s all about repaying debts quickly I think he takes this on an emotional level too so he feels if you get too close or kind he has to return that by being transparent as well and he knows he’s bad at it so he just stops you altogether by not letting you even create that environment around him. I.e in the future he’s fine in the hospital room then more people come and he warns Tsuna then beats his ass because it was getting too emotional seeing ppl visit chrome when he just wanted to check on her from afar and not hear everyone’s emotions.
He takes pictures of random things , like a leaf with water droplets, clouds from Nami middles roof , his sneakers when he’s walking. They’re not amazing but he just always does it and never shares. It’s kind of grunge but unintentionally.
He has a knack for throw blankets. He has one in every room they’re mostly black white or purple no designs except for the ones from his grandparents.
If you have ever watched Saiki k I think he has the exact same relationship with his parents. If you haven’t : he’s serious and reserved and willingly antisocial but not because of trauma and his parents are so normal and caring it’s funny in contrast. But they’re a tad bit more refined than saikis.
He was partly raised by his grandparents when he was much younger and that’s why he really loves tradition and order while his parents are hardly as strict.
His grandfather was probably a vet who joined solely to protect Namimori . Hibari has that same love for the town because of him but like his grandfather he’s in no way patriotic. They both just love this town He thinks of his grandfather when he thinks of Namimori and because he is gone now he latches on to the town even more.
His grandfather is Fon. Hear me out. Fon could have been around 40 when he was cursed , could’ve had a son young (18) but it was fine because he was a very well respected champion. The Hibaris had money and as long as he was a positive image in his career field they wouldn’t mind what he did although their lineage is that of leaders and scholars. He stopped for a bit to go into the army and when he came back he stumbles upon the mafia . His son grows up to also have a kid young Fon and his wife watch after Hibari until he’s around 7 while his son and daughter in law work extremely hard to get established in their career paths. They come back and one day Fon just vanished bc he’s cursed and hibaris dad knows he was in the mafia so he just doesn’t dwell on what might have happened but doesn’t share because he didn’t want to pain him as a bad guy to his son but they’re all pretty upset about it.
Fon taught hibari how to fight , that’s why he has his grandfathers disposition and tenacity although it’s a tad immature in comparison. Fon tells him his style will be what he picks and hibari randomly picks tonfas as his weapon. Fon has it in his house because although he uses no weapons he’s fond of their history. Fon gets him a pair of silver ones.
He’s not the brightest, he’s not as terrible as Tsuna and Yamamoto but he’s average academically. He’s not interested in excelling academically and getting a painfully respectable job like doctor lawyer or something in business. And I think his air of nonchalant attitude can only come from a trust fund kid who’s parents don’t expect them to be their carbon copy.
He literally gets himself held back just to stick around a middle school he likes and nobody objects or is worried about his future. It’s definitely secured.
He really doesn’t care about the disciplinary committee members because he didn’t mean to form it. Students have a love hate relationship with him. He was just some scary strong guy who happened to beat up the right people who were pests and they thought he did it for the good of everyone. But they realized too late that it’s really just who irritates him and that sometimes coincides with their best interest so they let it be because he’s a comforting and unsettling presence to have. Like even Tsuna acknowledges this despite being terrified of him most the time he’s always like “wait Hibari will handle it”
He likes that he has disciples because it’s a crowd he’s apart of and is the center of but doesn’t have to be too close and nobody can kick him out or make him feel unwanted.
His parents actually like that he’s respected (oblivious to the fear) as the leader of this club around town because their family is known for strong leadership and he’s applied it to what he wanted.
He likes hamburger steak because when his parents came back his mom liked to test American recipes once she moved back to Japan. This was the only one he really liked enough to ask for again
He can’t cook. At all. Hopeless. Would burn water.
He would kill you for a well made dessert. They put him in a good mood but he’s a weirdo that doesn’t like rewarding himself so it has to be a gift or offered.
He actually likes band t shirts ripped jeans boots and all of that but hardly wears it out because he finds he likes being in his uniform more.
He’s a good boxer because everyone seems to forget he won a BOXING match for royhei. Hello he couldn’t use tonfas he actually had to punch ppl. Yeah he’s strong but that’s a style of fighting he definitely learned from Fon.
He jogs on a private trail around his families property, sometimes his father joins him.
His parents know him really well. He’s not a difficult kid to them. they’re the only ones he answers to but even then they raised him to be independent so they’re not that authoritative over him.
He has a hard time listening to them because he thinks they leave him to govern himself too much and shouldn’t only get a say sometimes.
They feel bad about leaving him to his grandparents for so long but his mother says she’ll never regret making sure their lives were better for him.
They have a good relationship give or take a few problems stemming from their separation from him.
He can draw really well. I don’t know why. But he just does. He does it often on random papers his only collection being a small box his mother keeps of them. He hates when she saves them.
He’s the baby of his entire family but his father is on the higher end of his family and same with his mother for hers so everyone is always asking to see him but he refuses to leave Namimori for longer than a day or two.
He has a sister. Idk. I just feel he has a sibling that’s either way older or a toddler that spends time on trips with their mother because she doesn’t have school yet.
He watches horror movies with his parents a lot. But they have to be psychological thrillers and he always has to fight his dad with his mom on what everything meant.
He’s spoiled. He’s nonchalant about everything but when it comes down to it he is a trust fund baby who would have been sent to a nice private high school abroad.
He has been arrested but his father being his father makes an arrangement with the police force in Nami where he’s just his own independent junior division. It would explain why the people in his committee look significantly older than him sometimes😭.
Tetsyua has always been the only member who’s name he learned because he doesn’t disappoint him. He is to him what Shoichi was to Byakuran , competent in other areas and capable of surprising him. And he never made Hibari feel like he had to say anything to him for that hibari considers him to be a good friend.
Tetsu and Ryohei are the only people he finds familiar and respectable enough to converse with like a normal fucking teenager 😭.
Royhei is loud but he doesn’t mind him because the boy is ALWAYS alone training. And like him he doesn’t backdown from a fight , also he causes no trouble at school.
He hangs out with him more than you’d think but he never initiates it or stops it.
Hibari lets Royhei use his private trail to jog sometimes. His parents know the sasagawa kids well because of this, they get invited to dinner a lot.
He likes kyoko better because she’s like a quieter Royhei but just as kind and determined. He tries to be nice to her by greeting her from them to time but stops because she popular and it draws attention and annoying rumors.
She says he really hates crowds and understands how nosy people in their grade are and says it’s okay if he doesn’t wave back sometimes. She assumes he’s actually extremely shy and misunderstood. (Sis he’s just a delinquent)
It’s platonic but he actually fond of her and is nice to her and they text from time to time. She’s the only one who knows to give him sweets because they talk about them.
He tries to get revenge on Mukuro for making him associate something he actually liked enough to go view (Sakura) with humiliation and anger that he tries to return the favor. The bastard loves nothing that much so he’s still thinking.
His parents think some girl broke up with him at a Sakura filled place and that’s why he suddenly hates it. He won’t explain they’re wrong because it’s better than the real story.
He’s a history buff , but a world history buff not just Japan.
He has an admirable garden that he tends to and sells half the vegetables his chef only cooks for three and doesn’t need that many.
He likes the snow he thinks it’s calming when everyone stays home in their house while outside is cold and harsh but pretty. He makes his parents special hot chocolate on days like that. They let him drink hot wine sometimes but only a sip or two.
He’s bilingual because his parents taught him Italian when he was younger after they had come back. They also taught him a little English.
He watches a lot of American media and listens to their music as well.
On his birthday he never goes out because it’s a holiday and more people are out than usual so his family has a dinner for him and get him gifts.
His mother gives more thoughtful gifts that he appreciates later while his father indulges him and gets him stuff like a popular manga series or a meeting to upgrade his tonfas again or clothing he really likes.

You’re Mine
Tumblr media
Summary: Ryoma and Sakuno are dating for three years. Everything seems going well and they're going strong until a transfer student from America suddenly appeared and shake their relationship foundation. "So you drunkenly set me up with some girl when I was four? How can you be so crazy oyaji!"
You're Mine
Written by: SyrinxSilenus
Chapter 1: Ryoma has a fiancee?
Sakuno couldn't believe that it had been three years since she and Ryoma had started dating. Sometimes she couldn't help but still questioned herself if everything that had happened was real or she had been trapped in a very realistic dream for so long.
Who would even think that Ryuzaki Sakuno, a plain, clumsy, and directionally challenged girl would have the Prince of Tennis, Echizen Ryoma's interest?
Four years ago…
She couldn't understand the significance of Ryoma giving her his red tennis racket before he left for America in their first year in middle school.
Sakuno had been confused because she knew the racket was precious to Ryoma and that he didn't just let anyone touch it. At the same time, she felt exhilarated, like wild butterflies were fluttering inside her belly.
Sending Ryoma off to America for the second time hadn't lessened the ache in her heart, but Sakuno knew that the world needed to discover Ryoma's tennis. She believed with all her heart that he would be number one.
Sakuno was still depressed even a week after Ryoma's departure. Not seeing him in the court felt as if a big part of her had been ripped off. So imagine her surprise when she had suddenly received a letter from Ryoma containing his current address in America.
Overwhelmed with happiness, Sakuno had squealed and jumped in delight and muttered about things that she wanted to write to him in a daze.
She had sent him letters every week since then. Informing him of everything that happened to the senpais and her life. To her surprise, Ryoma actually wrote back whenever he could. Although his letters were short and direct to the point, Sakuno didn't care at all. She was just happy that he had bothered to reply.
Exchanging letters with him made her feel like he hadn't really left and that they finally had some sort of connection. A year passed by so quickly and she was finally entering her final year in middle school. That was when he returned.
One morning, when she was hurrying out of the house to go to school, she almost had a heart attack when she saw him leaning casually beside their door with his hands tucked inside his pockets. A tennis bag on his shoulder and his signature fila hat on his head.
Sakuno had gaped at him like he had grown three heads before he finally looked at her.
"Yo, Ryuzaki," he had greeted her as if he hadn't been gone for more than a year.
She didn't know what possessed her, but the next thing she knew, she was already wrapping her arms around his neck as she cried happy tears. She hadn't imagined that from then on, the two of them would be inseparable.
She couldn't remember how it started, but they slowly transitioned from mere acquaintance to close friends.
She, a dense idiot like no other, hadn't thought much of it until one of their schoolmates tried to ask her out on a date and Ryoma had launched a deadly twist serve towards the boy's face.
He spat out a spew of angry words that she couldn't remember aside from: "She's mine. Don't touch her."
Utterly flabbergasted, Sakuno just stood there, mouth wide open like a fish out of the water until Ryoma grabbed her hand and dragged her to the rooftop.
When she came to, Ryoma had already trapped her with her back on the wall, his arms on either side of her head as he leaned his forehead on hers, demanding her to go out with him.
Still reeling from everything that happened, all Sakuno could do was to nod frantically with her eyes as wide as dinner plates.
She squeaked a high-pitched, "Yes!" and Ryoma smirked in satisfaction.
It took her the whole day before everything sank through her and she ran inside her grandmother's room to scream, "Ryoma-kun asked me to go out with him! And I said, yes! Hoeeee!"
Sumire laughed at her, saying, "Took you long enough to realize that? You're staring at Ryoma in a daze since the tennis practice started and he even walked you home, holding hands."
Sakuno let out another squeak, sounding like a dying rat as her face shifted to different shades of red. That night she hadn't had much sleep as Ryoma invaded her thoughts until morning came.
That confession happened three years ago.
Now, here she was, staring at the blackboard as their homeroom teacher blabbered about a transfer student from America.
Sakuno blinked as Tomoka kicked her desk lightly, pulling her out of the memory lane.
"Psst, Sakuno, Nami said that she saw a blonde girl in the registration office earlier and that she's so pretty like a supermodel. Looks like she's our new classmate," Tomoka whispered beside her.
Blinking twice in confusion, Sakuno tilted her head to the side, "We have a transfer student?"
Tomoka looked at her in disbelief just as someone started chuckling behind her.
Sakuno blushed in embarrassment and Tomoka rolled her eyes while the person behind her lightly tugged one of her braids.
"Neh, off to dreamland again?" She could practically hear his smirk.
She ducked her head to hide her flustered expression. "Mou, stop teasing me, Ryoma-kun."
"Heh, whatever do you mean, Sakuno?" Ryoma replied, amusement was clear in his voice while he continued to twirl her braid in his hand.
She wondered what kind of obsession Ryoma had with her hair when he told her a long time ago that it was too long. Also, he loved to bury his nose on the crook of her neck or the top of her head. He was so weird sometimes.
She heard Tomoka giggling beside her and she pouted.
"Yu-san, please come in and introduce yourself."
Their attention was brought back to the front as a beautiful girl entered their class. Her straight blond hair danced gracefully as she walked with model-like strides. The beauty smiled charmingly, earning murmurs from the class
'So pretty…' Sakuno thought as she observed the new transfer student.
The girl had a pair of beautiful forest green eyes, a cute pointed nose, and red lips – obviously painted with lipstick. Her eyelashes weren't as long as Sakuno's, but they were long enough to enhance her big eyes. Her eyeliner was thick and obvious, but they made the green in her eyes even more prominent. Her school uniform looked so fitting that her beautiful curves were shown so clearly along with her perfectly shaped legs.
Sakuno squashed the sudden urge to check her own legs.
'Tomo-chan said mine are to die for, but she's probably just trying to cheer me up. Mou…'
Sakuno liked to observe beautiful girls in general, not because she was envious, but it was because of Tomoka's habit of pointing out their looks. Though in Sakuno's part, she focused more on the beauty they tried to conceal or seemed unnoticed by others.
She had always been down to earth, always looking for the best in people. That was why Tomoka always scolded her for her naivety, but she couldn't just change her views in one night. So it was a shock to her when she suddenly felt a twinge of envy towards the transfer student.
"Oh my god, Sakuno! She's staring at Ryoma-sama!"
Especially when Tomoka hissed that beside her.
Ryoma continued to twirl Sakuno's braids as their homeroom teacher rambled on and on. His girlfriend's attention was back to the front but his mind was elsewhere. He just wanted for lunch break to come faster so that he could spend a private moment with Sakuno.
He was getting bored again and sleep was starting to draw him in. He yawned as he rested his cheek on his desk, putting one of Sakuno's braids on his nose like a mustache for him to smell.
'Strawberry.' He really liked Sakuno's shampoo, although it lacked another one of her natural scent – vanilla – it still didn't fail to lull him to sleep all the time.
'Is homeroom not over yet?' A yawn escaped his lips for the second time.
'It's so quiet here...wait, quiet? Since when did my classmates learn to shut up?'
Suddenly awake, he slowly lifted his head to check his surroundings only to find all of his classmates staring at him.
Ryoma raised an eyebrow as they started murmuring while flickering their gazes from him and to the blackboard.
Utterly irritated, he followed their gazes only to blink in confusion as an unfamiliar girl stared back at him with so much intensity Ryoma was tempted to glare back at her.
"Psst, Echizen, do you know this chick?" Horio whispered beside him.
"No," Ryoma smoothly replied with his forehead creasing.
"She's looking so intensely at you, as if she's stripping you off your clothes," Horio added, snickering.
Ryoma glared. "Shut up."
"Umm, Yu-san. You have to introduce yourself," Ms. Kanagawa reluctantly stated, shifting her eyes nervously between her and Ryoma.
The girl eyed their homeroom teacher for a second before she returned her gaze back at him, fluttering her eyelashes.
Ryoma cringed internally. He hated girls like that.
"I'm Yu Reina, 17 years old. I'm a Japanese-American and we just moved here from Los Angeles yesterday. Please take care of me," the girl introduced herself, bowing politely.
'Yu Reina? Why did that sound familiar?' Ryoma thought as he scratched his head. The girl was still staring at him which unnerved him so he laid back his head on the desk and put Sakuno's braid on his closed eyes.
"Why did you move to Japan?" Ryoma heard one of his male classmates asked.
"I returned here to claim my fiancé since it's due time we meet each other again."
Gasps echoed around the room, but Ryoma was back to being sleepy.
'Sakuno's hair really smells so good.'
"Is your fiancé here in our class?"
'What bento did Sakuno cook for us today?'
"Of course."
Ryoma could vaguely hear the murmurings intensifying around him, but he was so close to succumbing to unconsciousness that he just ignored them.
"WHO IS HE!" Horio's annoying voice jolted him out of his drowsiness and Ryoma raised his head to glare at his loud teammate.
He lifted his foot to kick Horio's desk when someone suddenly stood in front of him, blocking his view of Horio.
Annoyed, Ryoma glared at the person who interrupted his little revenge when the smiling face of the transfer student greeted him.
Ryoma glared at her. "Oi, move out of the way," he demanded but the girl appeared not to hear him as she just continued to smile at him.
The classroom turned eerily quiet. Ryoma shifted his gaze to his girlfriend only to find her staring at the transferee in disbelief.
"Ryo-kun, it's been a long time," the unknown girl said.
Ryoma narrowed his eyes. "Who the hell are you?"
The girl giggled. "Don't be like that. We spent a lot of time together when we were little, you can't possibly have forgotten about me."
His annoyance increased. "No. I seriously don't know you. Now move out of the way," he demanded.
"Ryoma-kun…" he heard Sakuno murmur. There was something in her voice, something that he didn't like and made him feel alarmed.
"Sakuno?" He asked and was about to touch her shoulder when Sakuno's loud-mouthed best friend suddenly stood up.
"Are you saying that Ryoma-sama is your fiancé!? Don't kid us! Ryoma-sama is already dating someone!" Osakada screamed, looking red in anger.
His eyes grew three sizes larger and he immediately backed away from the girl as if she was carrying a deadly contagious disease.
The transferee frowned. "That can't be right Ryo-kun. Our engagement has long been arranged. You can't have any other girl but me," she said, staring at him in accusation.
He didn't like the way she was looking at him. No, it's not just that. He simply didn't like her ever since he saw her earlier.
"Shut up. I don't know you nor am I engaged to anyone yet," Ryoma stated firmly, eyeing Sakuno who was staring down at her lap.
"But Ryo-kun, I'm not lying! We were always together when we were kids–"
"Tennis," he interjected, making the girl stop in her sentence.
"Tennis is what I have done since I was a kid. I didn't have time to play around with toddlers so quit your nonsense."
"No! I'm your fiancé! Ask your parents! They know about it," the girl insisted.
Ryoma was about to spat something nasty when their homeroom teacher cleared her throat.
"Yu-chan, Echizen-kun. You should talk about personal matters after school. We should all calm down and sit now."
The transfer student stared at him in frustration before she huffed and crossed her arms.
"We're not done yet," she declared before she marched towards the empty seat in front.
Ms. Kanagawa cleared her throat again. "I'll be checking your attendance now," she said as she started calling out names.
Ryoma barely paid attention to her. He was focused on his girlfriend who was facing the front, neither looking nor saying anything to him.
Somehow, Ryoma was engulfed with a sudden feeling of fear. He didn't do anything wrong, but with what happened, he was worried that Sakuno would…
He suddenly stood up. "Sakuno's not feeling well, Ms. Kanagawa. Let me bring her to the clinic."
Sakuno jolted. "W-What?" she blurted out, blinking at him in confusion.
Ms. Kanagawa gazed at Sakuno worriedly. "You look pale, Ryuzaki-chan. Very well Echizen-kun, make sure she doesn't collapse on your way there," she said as she pushed her eyeglasses up her nose.
Ryoma inclined his head before he gripped Sakuno's hand and stared hard at her, demanding her to just go with the flow.
His girlfriend sighed as she stood up and let him guide her out of the class. He could feel everyone's eyes staring at their backs, but Ryoma couldn't care less.
Sakuno was quiet as they walked, even when he guided her to the opposite direction of the clinic and led her to the rooftop instead. Ryoma squeezed her hand as he felt his heart start to beat faster.
'Is she mad?'
He and Sakuno rarely argued since they started dating. She was always so understanding that sometimes, he was the one who felt guilty whenever he did something wrong.
The only time she got mad at him was when he stubbornly insisted to attend tennis practice even though he had a fever. It was the first time Sakuno yelled at him. Ryoma hadn't felt that kind of fear since his mother caught him skipping classes with Momo and Kikumaru-senpai once.
Since then, he was cautious of making Sakuno mad, but she was too kind that she would just stay quiet and let him scold her whenever they had a disagreement.
Now though, this was a different matter. Ryoma knew that Sakuno had low self-esteem and was extremely selfless, so he was afraid that she would...break up with him just because some girl claimed to be his childhood sweetheart. He was afraid that Sakuno wouldn't fight for him and just surrender to the other girl.
He shut the door of the rooftop as they arrived and faced his still quiet girlfriend who was looking down on her feet.
"Sakuno…" He didn't know what to say.
He was getting frustrated when his phone rang and he answered it without looking at the caller's ID.
"What?" he spat out.
"Oooh, you don't sound so happy seishounen." His perverted father's singsong voice greeted him, making
his irritation skyrocketed.
He eyed Sakuno, not letting go of her hand as he answered his father. "Oyaji, what do you want? I'm busy–"
"This is about Yu Reina, you brat! She might go to your school to–"
"Too late, she's here. She invaded my class and caused me a lot of trouble. What is she spouting about, some stupid engagement?" He noticed Sakuno looked up at him. Their eyes met.
He squeezed her hand one more time before he shifted the phone to loudspeaker.
"Ah… that. It happened when you were still four. Mr. Yu and I are buddies, y'know. So we joked around about marrying you and Reina-chan together since she was always following you around, and ah...we were kinda drunk and things just happened..."
"And?" Ryoma prompted, his temper rising by a minute.
"So...we signed a written agreement..."
Ryoma heard his father's nervous laugh on the other line and his grip on the phone tightened.
"So you drunkenly set me up with some girl when I was four!? How can you be so crazy oyaji—Oi, Sakuno! D-Don't cry." He frantically let go of her hand and wrapped his arm around his girlfriend, rubbing her back as tears started rolling down her cheeks.
"Oops, so Sakuno-chan's there. Hehe, sorry seishounen. I think there's a misunderstanding about this agreement so you should bring Sakuno-chan here and we can discuss this properly later. For now, you should...comfort your girlfriend or you'll end up being sing–"
Ryoma dropped the call and returned his phone to his pocket as he lifted Sakuno's face up to meet his eyes. Her nose was turning red now; he hated it when she cried.
"Sakuno, I–"
"A-Are you g-going to b-b-break up–" He didn't let her finish her stupid question as he abruptly claimed her mouth in a searing kiss.
Sakuno clutched on his uniform as he gripped her hips tightly, backing her up to the wall.
"R-Ryoma," she murmured against his lips as he heatedly kissed her, making her whimper. Reluctantly, he moved away from her to gaze deeply into her brown eyes.
"Don't start spouting nonsense. We're not breaking up. You hear me?" Ryoma firmly stated, eyes never wavering from Sakuno's.
"B-But what about y-your engagement? Nanjiroh-san said that they signed an agreement and–"
Ryoma shushed her frantic mumblings with another kiss that ended in three seconds. Kissing her was the best way to shut her up whenever she started to babble.
"Don't worry about unimportant things. I'll have my idiot father fix his own stupidity. There's something wrong with that agreement. If you're going to insist about that stupid engagement, I'm hauling you to Hong Kong to get married," he seriously said, causing Sakuno's cheeks to redden.
"Mou, Ryoma-kun, stop joking about something like this, I–"
"I'm not joking," he scowled at her, feeling insulted, "I will definitely marry you if they force me to be with that girl, and not even Ryuzaki-sensei can stop me."
Sakuno blinked at him in surprise as her grip tightened on his shirt. "Y-You won't leave me f-for her?"
Ryoma leaned his forehead against her, looking straight at her brown eyes. "Never."
A single tear rolled down her cheeks and he wiped it with his thumb as he slowly descended to kiss her again. Gentler this time. The familiar fluttering in his stomach returned full force as Sakuno's soft lips brought him to a sea of explicable sensations that made his instinct take over his body.
'Like hell we're breaking up!' Ryoma was a selfish person. He was aware of that all this time. If he wanted something, he would have it. Ryuzaki Sakuno was no exception. 'She's mine!'
His hand expertly unbraided her hair, letting it cascade like a waterfall on her back as he weaved his fingers through her silky strands.
His mind shut down as the smell of vanilla and strawberry invaded his senses, making him forget about their problem, where they were, or his own name.
He softly nipped on her lower lip before slowly releasing them, panting slightly while his fingers ran down her side. He felt her shudder from his touch as her grip tightened around his neck, but her fingers on his hair were gentle, lightly combing through his dark tresses.
"W-What are we going to do n-now?" Sakuno muttered, looking straight into his eyes with a worried frown on her cute face.
The redness on her cheeks looked darker than before and her eyes looked a bit glassy. She was definitely quite frazzled. It was a wonder she still managed to ask him a question.
Ryoma rested his forehead on her as he let out a deep sigh. "We need to talk with my father first."
His girlfriend nodded slowly. "I-I don't want to get back to class," she murmured.
He grinned and chuckled a little in response.
"What?" She asked with a pout.
"This is the first time I hear you suggest we skip class," he said between chuckles.
Sakuno hit him lightly on the chest. "It's not funny! It's just...just–"
Ryoma buried his face in the hollow between her neck and shoulder whispering, "Okay" under his breath.
He sat down and leaned his back on the wall with Sakuno sitting on his lap, resting her head on his chest as he placed his cheek on top of her head.
The wind blew softly, rustling their clothes and Sakuno's hair as the smell of vanilla and strawberry wafted through the air, lulling Ryoma to sleep as his arms tightened around her petite body.
That was where they spent their time until lunch arrived.

Custom Toonami Block Week 69 (Nice) Rundown
Code Geass: So this episode is kind of a ride, like fuck. We kinda yadda yadda how Lelouch fucking escaped from Nunally’s sinking airship and just have Rolo sitting over him in bed kind of conflicted that he’s still stuck on his old little sister, so therefore he programs the tvs in Lelouch’s train to blast Nunally’s appointment but it’s funny because he probably didn’t even have to do that because directly after that Lelouch runs into the station and Nunally shit is just everywhere, like I get it’s a metaphor but it’s just funny that Rolo had to plan for him to run into something Nunally-related only for him to run out of the plan and run into ten times more Nunally shit. Then we get Kaguya claiming herself, Kallen and CC as Zero’s harem directly followed by a depressed Lelouch hypnotizing a bunch of street punks to exercise, about to do drugs and asking to fuck Kallen, like this episode is fucking ridiculous and parts are hilariously contrived, thankfully Kallen slaps the shit out of him and Rolo’s like “yo bro we don’t need that bitch, come on and live it up in this ridiculously racist system and the one place where it’s slightly less racist with me” and then they go back to school and have the “Happiness is Like Glass” scene which is genuinely amazing and moving, like for all the weird zany stuff that happens in the first part of this episode, this is a little oasis of pure sincerity and quality where Lelouch makes a promise he knows he won’t be able to keep. Inspired by this amazing moment, Lelouch returns to the Black Knights with the thought of “Maybe there are other reasons to destroy an oppressive dictatorship aside from my one ridiculously crippled sister” which he probably should’ve thought of before. And then he defeats Suzaku’s navy with the power of FUCKING BUBBLES, like yeah, this episode is right back to being crazy ridiculous but Lelouch is back and wants in on Nunally’s special zones… okay, phrasing.
Inuyasha: So we open with a scene of Kagome playing cards with Miroku which is genuinely adorable if pointless, but it just makes me laugh that Miroku and Sango seem to know all the rules of the game but are still stumped when Kagome tells them they’re Playing Cards, probably a culture thing. Anyway, Inuyasha has to kill a Barrier Demon to get the power to break barriers, which is a bit of a conundrum because Barrier Demons have, you know, barriers, which Inuyasha currently cannot break. Worse still said demon is a little girl and a half-demon like Inuyasha which understandably puts him in quite a quandary. Inuyasha does his usual thing of “Let’s just go in swinging and figure out the rest later but Shiori’s grandfather deflects the admittedly cool-looking Water Wind Scar Inuyasha throws at them with Shiori’s barrier. Shiori’s mom is all “Gimme back my daughter you said you’d stop attacking us if I let you have her” and he’s all like “Well make me, I have a fucking barrier and can hold you hostage” so everyone’s generally pissed off about the situation and Shiori’s granddad with the long name sends all the bat demons to go destroy the village which makes no fucking sense because the only reason she’s still cooperating is so they won’t hurt her mom, without her she has no reason to keep doing it but I guess he’s hoping having nothing to live for will make her do what he says out of nihilism or some shit.
Yu Yu Hakusho: Yusuke gets to face off against Suzaku, the final boss of the Saint Beasts and the gang get to demonstrate the teamwork lessons from this arc by doing a reenactment of the jumping Bahamut scene from Advent Children so Yusuke can get up the tower to fight him. It’s really pretty cool how they splice in Keiko’s Day of the Dead montage with Yusuke fighting Suzaku, tying things together thematically and culiminating in Yusuke and Keiko both fucking decking their opponents. I also really like how Yusuke’s so confident Keiko won’t go down to a zombie hoard so easily, like she’s not a fighter but she’s smart and has got guts so he’s pretty sure she can last a while while he pretends to punch Suzaku with his shoes. Overall a really good start to the fight that means Yusuke still has to wiggle his way out after using his Spirit Gun already and Suzaku still has a lot of shit to pull.
Fate Zero: So Saber and Lancer do their fight and there’s a bunch of fightnobabble talk that someone who’s actually held a weapon in their life would probably enjoy but to me is just “Oooh cool jabbies, flashing lights” which is still fun. Basically everyone’s watching though, Kirei has his ninja squad on the job, Kiritsugu’s Black Ops is monitoring things and Iskander is watching from the Radical Highway Bridge from Sonic Adventure 2. Eventually Iskander is like “Well damn they might kill each other if this keeps up” and Waver’s like “yeah duh.” And Iskander shows who wears the booty shorts in this relationship by storming into the fight against Waver’s wishes cause he wants to fight everyone anyway. So yeah, giant lightning chariot in the middle of this First Boss battle.
Konosuba: Now that the party’s all formed the group settle into a daily routine of Kazuma being Megumin’s wheels for her Explosion training, Aqua being a waitress and Darkness doing… probably better not to think about what Darkness is doing. Anyway, Megumin bombs the shit out of a Dullahan’s castle and before the Dullahan can call his friend Celty to come kick her ass, Darkness gets hit with a death spell and he issues a challenge to Megumin to come to the tower of the Four Saint Beasts and (wait wrong anime again) but Aqua just breaks the curse on her own and they just don’t bother showing up. In the manga this is really funny because Aqua’s in a maid outfit from her waitress job and just does it like it’s nothing and then they show a panel later of the Dullahan waiting for them like “The fuck when are they getting here…”.
Sailor Moon Crystal: So for some reason even though we only have three of the five Sailor Guardians, Luna decides this is the time to give a recap and reintroduce our protagonists for the first part of this episode. Anyway there’s a big party to celebrate a dated princess Di reference that’s kind of in poor taste at this point and Usagi and friends get in based solely on having fancy dresses and being hot, man I had no idea getting in with rich people was that easy. Anyway, Usagi gets a new tiara because of love and shit and gets an upgraded Ancient Egyptian Laser Beam from the moon. The Four Kings show up to be all “Ha-ha! You defeated my demon but now there’s all four of us and even though we still think you have the crystal and outnumber you and there will never be a moment when you’re weaker than this we will now… LEAVE FOR NO REASON!” like the logic of people in this show oh my fucking god. But of course the dated princess reference’s treasure isn’t the crystal they’re looking for and Tuxedo Mask kisses Sailor Moon while she’s asleep which is definitely sexual assault there was no fucking consent there, I don’t care if they’re moon soul mates or whatever she barely knows who he is and wasn’t conscious. But yeah Luna calls him out on his shit and despite clearly being an ally he has to be all edgy and be like “Well maybe I’m a friend, maybe I’ an enemy, who knows~” because I think he gets his power from how mysterious he is, like he’s going to be utterly useless if anyone figures out who he is, not to mention Luna already knows his identity but for some reason doesn’t tell Usagi. Idk man I just have a hard time following the logic of this fucking show…
Durarara!!: So yeah, this is the “The Yagiri Family is fucked” episode Namie has a weird fucked up brocon yandere thing going on, Seiji’s an asshole that because of having two stalker yanderes going after him has become a fractured manchild that thinks love is everything and pretends he knows shit but knows less shit than pretty much everyone around him and has his sister do all the shit for him. But yeah, Celty sees Seiji with the girl with her head and freaks out, and Shinra A DOCTOR if you remember says “Hey maybe your head just attached itself to a corpse Parasyte style” like either he’s a terrible doctor and really thinks that or this is a smokescreen to make Celty think her head has moved on and she should too which is a fucked up level of gaslighting. But yeah, Mikado takes Head Girl, Seiji keeps stabbing people with pens for some reason, luckily it’s mostly Shizuo so it doesn’t do anything, and Izaya’s just like “oh shit, chaos, I’m down”. Basically everyone is awful in this episode except for Mikado who just wants to help and doesn’t know shit, Celty who’s doing her best, and Shizuo who’s just awesome as usual.
