Moments in Kinks-related books that I can't stop thinking about, no matter if it's happy, horrible, or sad :
-Michael Aldred. It was really interesting to see Ray's perspective. It was funny to see how he mentioned the word "friendship" right after writing about how Michael listened to the walls at the Connaught Gardens house. And also, Dave's recollection of their breakup. (X-Ray and Kink).
-Staying on the Michael Aldred topic, the fact that he was already trying to hit on Dave the first time they met during Ready, Steady, Go!. And Dave jokingly(?) punching Pete because... I don't remember what Pete did (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Mitch Mitchell almost joining The Kinks after the Cardiff incident (X-Ray, Kink and Americana I think?).
-["Where the fuck did the Greenlaw come from ?"] (X-Ray, I need to find the page again)
-Ray comparing Pete leaving the band to a divorce. (X-Ray)
-The whole David Watts bit aka. Ray attempts to sell his brother's hand to a man in exchange for a mansion after finding out the guy was gay with Mick's help. Also Mick was dancing around while in birth day clothing (X-Ray and Kink. I'm pretty sure Ray Davies: A Complicated Life also mentioned it).
-The mention of Nobby's picture with the guitar and shovel after he went back to his day job due to Pete coming back in 1966 (X-Ray).
-Mick Avory and his connections with the drag queen community (X-Ray).
-Mitch Mitchell hiding pigeons under his bed (Kink).
-Dave explaining Ray's behaviour with astrology (Kink).
-Everyone (the bros, Mick and Nobby) getting scolded by Grenville, and then Baptist entering the room drunk, in full Viking gear, and blowing a horn. Then Grenville resigned (Kink and Americana).
-Ken Jones' death (Americana and Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Mick falling and hurting his back while in a clown costume (Kink and Americana).
-Mick, a model, and a DJ (X-Ray).
-Mick attracting all the drag queens even though he's "straight" (Ray's words, not mine) (X-Ray).
-The house Dave and Mick (and Michael Aldred !) lived in had to get exorcised after they all left (don't remember which one, X-Ray maybe ?— Actually I think it was Ray Davies: A Complicated Life. Not sure though).
-The "pineapple juice" bit (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Baptist eating a restaurant bill, and then Pamela (one of the backing singers during Preservation era) trying to do the same but not being allowed to (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-The Kinks almost having a punch-up after a concert because Bob asked for a pizza and the brothers "went apeshit" (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Jim getting to go to the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame ceremony, even though he wasn't inducted (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Chrissie Hynde being scared that her and Ray's house might be haunted, so Ray called Peggy who called Dave for assistance (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Nobby thinking him leaving the Kinks was fated (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-1984 being a bad year for basically everyone (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Gordon having to calm down Mick's murderous intents for half an hour after the latter had to be sent to the dressing room following a fight with Dave (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Baptist dropping college right before his finals just so he could join The Kinks (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Nobby sprinting, diving and swimming Baptist back to the shore after the keyboardist accidentally fell (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-The Early 70s lineup members having nicknames (Nobby for John D, Baptist for John G, Hyde for Dave and One Step for Mick) (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-The "Kinks Hijack Plane" headline. Aka the Kinks got drunk before a flight, Dave went feral and Nobby screaming out of frustration from missing a soccer match (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-"[Ray] Davies was a horrible geezer – a cunt" - Phil May (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Mick and Baptist going Cassandra truth-mode on Andy (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Ray knocking out Baptist during a fight before the encore (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Jim and Gordon contrasting each other (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-The "Psychatrist. Hours open: 10-12" door (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
-Pete jokingly telling John Entwistle to give his bass to "a real bass player" (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).
Other post I said I would post months ago, but didn't until today. It's a bit dusty because the only modification I did was remove 1 moment because I genuinely didn't know how to feel about that one.

This is something I’ve been wanting to talk about for a long time, but I wrote this out now thanks to @righteousinadversity’s post about the Yiling Laozu not being the Mr. Hyde to WWX’s Dr. Jekyll. I was going to add on to that one, but this felt like enough of a tangent that it should be its own post. Still, thanks to Sreya for inspiring me to finally get this off my chest.
The conflation of WWX’s Yiling Laozu era with his use of guidao is one of my biggest pet peeves in this fandom, because it ultimately buys into cultivation world propaganda about WWX and therefore feels like it misses the entire point of the novel.
Like, first there are the factual inaccuracies -- WWX does not even get the title until he’s living in the Burial Mounds with the Wens. No one actually knows that he learned his new cultivation in the Burial Mounds at this point. He just tells JC he was in “a hell of a place” when he returns, and JC didn’t even know what he meant because he asked him if it was Qishan or Nightless City. For the entire war, no one has any reason to associate WWX with Yiling.
This means that in the beginning, it’s not his use of guidao that gets him his title. The conflation of the two becomes a thing later and is used to demonize (literally, since the designation of “modao” came from the cultivation world, not WWX) the cultivation path he created.
The whole structure of the novel is in fact used to undermine the “Yiling Laozu is WWX’s evil alter ego” narrative. The effect of having those interwoven flashbacks is to first present the dominant narrative and then undermine that narrative by showing what really happened. The whole conceit of the structure is pretty much destroyed if readers’ ultimate conclusion is that actually, the dominant narrative is right. We are not supposed to read the flashbacks and decide that yeah, the Yiling Laozu was in fact evil.
We are supposed to read hundreds of thousands of words of people calling the Yiling Laozu evil...and then finding out he earned that title as a protector. His title actually came not from use of his cultivation during the war, however scary he was, but from protecting a bunch of people on a mountain.
People in fandom taking “Evil Yiling Laozu” at face value feels like them taking the title of the novel at face value. People may call WWX the “grandmaster of demonic cultivation/modao zushi,” but using that as the novel’s title is ironic, used to highlight the disconnect between the presentation and the reality.
The “Evil Yiling Laozu” narrative is cultivation world propaganda, and I am continually tired of how much anti-WWX cultivation world propaganda the fandom continually buys into.

The Guardians: An Introduction
As I promised earlier this month, instead of my traditional Creatures of Yuletide, this year I will explore a little bit of William Joyce's Guardians of Childhood book series for Christmas. These were the books that inspired DreamWorks' Rise of the Guardians.
I swear to you. This was one of the best book series I had the pleasure in reading. These books are the perfect and unlikely union between high fantasy and fairy tale whimsy. They even had a little of space opera. I can't recommend them enough. They are so sincere, legitimately epic, and creative.
However, if you only know the Guardians by the movie, you certainly will get a little confused and disappointed. All characters in the book have drastic different personalities and backstories from their film's counterparts, to the point it's impossible for them to be the same characters. The universe of the books itself seems to work with vastly different rules than that of the movie.
I would love to headcanon Pitch with the same tragic backstory that he had in the books. But book Pitch canonically DIES in 1933, and it's a huge deal, to the point it's impossible to bring him back without ruining the whole series' ending.
I will get in more detail in later posts, but so to you get an idea of the feel of the universe of the books, we have:
A space pirate dark lord that plunders planets.
Tumblr media
Sea warfare in space.
Tumblr media
Wizard from Atlantis talking with bugs.
Tumblr media
An army of yetis.
Tumblr media
A rabbit that hulks when he eats chocolate and grows multiple limbs.
Tumblr media
The king of werewolves.
Tumblr media
Warrior Easter eggs.
Tumblr media
Alien eastern monks
Tumblr media
Warriors that fight using Onomatopoeias
Tumblr media
And this is how Jack Frost looked during the Victorian Era. He entered a snowball fight with Winston Churchill, J.M. Barrie, and Rudyard Kipling against some street children. Yes, everyone can see him just fine in the books. He's the in-universe inspiration behind Peter Pan, Dorian Gray, and Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

[to the mun] I'm incredibly curious about how you read Silas as a character since we get so little on him and you've put so much thought into the Mann family on a whole, what is he like?
The fact that there is so little information left about Silas also speaks about him as a character. In this he is very similar to Gray, only everyone tried to forget Gray, erase him from the past, whereas no one even remembered Silas.
After his death, he primarily protects the family manor (the original of which from London was exactly repeated in New Mexico), so he probably lived there with his brother's family, because he does not have his own.
At the same time, Silas seems to me distant from the family. He is not present when his nephews are born and does not appear in the comic at all. Zepheniah didn't say a word about him in his will, and this is understandable, given that Silas is older than him, but they founded a company together. Silas's opinion on this matter seems to be ignored, as if he once lost a war of primacy in the family to his brother. And it doesn't look like he was fighting at all.
In the family portrait, he is on the edge, as if he is unnecessary here. At the same time, he is the only one who looks upset about what is happening and the upcoming war of his nephews and the death of his brother.
Because of this, it seems to me that Silas is the only one who truly loves this family. And his cruel brother, because he remembers how he became like this, and his nephews, although they did not notice him, rushing only to the approval of their father. And that's why this character is so lonely.
Posthumously, he is a bloodthirsty monster and I like to think that during his lifetime he was the complete opposite: calm, melancholic, well-educated, religious, self-suppressing, gloomy, boring, and weak-willed compared to his brother. There are some Jekyll and Hyde motifs in this.
We remember that after his death, he is called the Horseless Headless Horsemann. But why is he a horseman if he was a salesman during his lifetime? Going back to the era, at that time, all the wealthy people had a horse, and it is obvious that the Manns also had because posthumously, he was wearing a rider's costume. I believe that he spent a lot of time in the company of horses because he found solace from loneliness in them. That's why they call him the horseman who lost his horse before Zepheniah's death because otherwise it wouldn't make sense.
At the same time, he is in a good relationship with Merasmus after death, which suggests that the topic of death and the supernatural is close to him (which is not surprising, given that in Victorian times it was a popular hobby). At the same time, Merasmus calls him an old friend and the question of how old is also interesting, because they could even have known each other during his lifetime. (We know that the wizard lived in Scotland for a while, so I wouldn't be surprised if he moved there from England because of the beginning of the Great Stink from the Thames. And it was because of his acquaintance with one of the Manns that he moved to their lands after a while.)
Well, the last point: how did he become headless? I am inclined to believe that he caused it himself. To be a co-owner of a weapons company when you are such a sad person who lost everything in one moment. . . this predisposes to the tendencies of premature termination of life.

I kind of joke that Mongolia likes Danmei/Chinese theatre (a major guilty pleasure of his) despite some of the very obvious anti-Northern themes but there's some historical basis to this I swear.
The Mongols loved theatre. When the Mongols came into contact with theatre it was almost like an entirely new form of entertainment was opened up to them. Yes, the Mongols had storytelling and songs and whatnot, however full on theatre was something different.
Sechin Jagachid and Paul Hyde, experts on Mongol history, wrote about how there is "no evidence... of dramatic production bring presented in Mongol society prior to or during the early Empire period." Their further comment explains quite simply why this was. - that it is difficult to say the least to attempt a stage play when you are nomadic.
The Mongols were so fond of theatre that in 1214-16, Muqali, one of Genghis's generals, was conquering the area of what when then become Manchuria, and two towns managed to hold out against them. As expected - a majority of the population were killed, with the exception of people who could be useful to the Mongols (the Mongols often spared useful people) such as craftsmen, artisans, and even actors.
So theatre must have been introduced to the Mongols prior to this date because why on earth would they spare the actors of all people alongside engineers and craftsmen?
John Man, a British historian with Mongol history as one of his specialities, imagines such a scene where this introduction could have occurred a few years prior to 1214, in 1211, when the Mongols first invaded Northern China. Perhaps there was a town that had the sense to surrender to the Mongols, and the Mongols, wanting some relief from being on campaign for so long, demands that they entertain them.
The villagers, desperate to please the invaders, puts on a show, curtains fluttering open and candles illuminating the scene - and almost immediately the battle-worn army is enchanted. The show they put on is the most famous theatre play in China during this time, one of a young woman - Zhaoqun, is sent to be married off to a Khan of the Xiongnu, and mourns for her freedom.
Despite the Xiongnu being portrayed as the villains, the Mongols are smitten by the storyline and root for the girl, and the Mongol fascination of theatre is born.
Though this is a scenario that John Man imagines may have likely happened because of the fact that the Mongols went around sparing actors a few years later (so they must have been exposed to theatre somehow to enjoy it enough to spare actors), it's my headcanon something like this definitely happened and Mongolia was gripped almost immediately despite the obvious portrayal of the Xiongnu (who he considers an ancestor) as the villain. It was entertaining and that's all the mattered.
It was the Mongol demand for threatre that surged a boom in Chinese drama - Khublai as a patron of the arts made sure his people were entertained. There were two bureauxs in the Mongol court - one for music and acting, the other responsible for staging court rituals and plays.
In fact, the Yuan era is considered "one of the most brilliant genres in Chinese literary history" according to Chung-Wen Shih, a historian of Chinese drama. Pre-Yuan, not a lot of theatre plays were preserved, because simply put they weren't considered literature and actors and actresses weren't particularly held in high regard.
On Mongolia liking Chinese theatre despite the anti-Northern sentiment - Mongolia was definitely aware of the themes in some of the stage plays and even Yuan stage plays managed to subtly shade the Mongols despite the Mongols being their overlords.
One of the most famous Yuan playwrights (Guan Hanqing) best plays, named "The injustice to Dou E" centres around Dou E, a village girl who, funnily enough, faces a number of injustices. In the end, heaven hears her prayers, and her wishes against those who have harmed her are fulfilled when she is finally executed.
This wasn't just a play about a heroine figure - this was a metaphor for the Mongols abuse of China, and the injustices China faced because of the Mongols. When Dou E is abused like how the Mongols abuse China, heaven is sent into chaos and the corrupt rule. When she finally dies, heaven delivers justice. Poetic when you think about it as the Mongols were finally expelled from China in 1368 and in turn, lost the mandate of heaven.
I think Mongolia did pick up on the shade that was snuck into these stage plays - but again, he really didn't care because of how entertaining he found them. Unfortunately this bad habit of enjoying stage plays that depicts him as the villain has lead to him in the modern day to enjoying TV shows and danmei and what not that does the same - so he uh. Tries to keep this guilty pleasure of his under wraps but people know about it at this point lol. It's not like he purposefully goes for plays and shows that do that (I mean, I sure hope not) but he's not exactly boycotting the ones that do - and there's an awful lot of them that do lol.
China probably wanted Mongolia to pick up on the shade that was being thrown at him in some of these plays or to be straight up offended at some of them. Imagine his deep annoyance when he'd find the brat chortling at the play rather than being outraged at the attempt at offense.
To think this all started when he watched that (1) play all those years ago...
Also fun fact: The Mongols love for theatre was so prolific that when the Chinese finally booted them out, the newly established Ming Dynasty actually temporarily banned theatre in their attempts at wiping out Mongol influence in China.
So yes. Mongolia still loves Chinese theatre - and yes - it's a major guilty pleasure of his. It's definitely something China brings up when they argue lol.
TL;DR, Mongolia is a loser

The same look of pity came into Dorian Gray’s eyes. Then he stretched out his hand, took a piece of paper, and wrote something on it. He read it over twice, folded it carefully, and pushed it across the table. Having done this, he got up and went over to the window. Campbell looked at him in surprise, and then took up the paper, and opened it. As he read it, his face became ghastly pale and he fell back in his chair. A horrible sense of sickness came over him. He felt as if his heart was beating itself to death in some empty hollow.
There is more than one possible reading of what Dorian may have written in the letter to blackmail Alan, but the most common and likely one given the thematic, narrative, and historical context is that Dorian threatened to reveal that Alan had engaged in some form of homosexuality.
I've previously written about the legal context of male homosexuality in the Victorian era for Jekyll and Hyde Weekly, so I'm just going to copy and paste a slightly edited version of what I had written back then to give an idea of the danger of such an accusation and why it would be so effective for blackmail:
Homosexuality between men in the UK in the form of sodomy was punishable by death until 1861, during which the Offences Against the Person Act was passed to amend the penalty for sodomy from death to a minimum of ten years in prison; later, the Criminal Law Amendment Act 1885 criminalized any and all acts of homosexuality between men (not just sodomy), including those done in private with no witnesses — even a mere affectionate letter would suffice as evidence for prosecution — to the point where it became known as the Blackmailer's Charter (source); this would later be the act under which Oscar Wilde would be found guilty of 'gross indecency' in 1895 and sentenced to prison.
Wilde was incarcerated for two years, during which he had to perform hard labour that resulted in illness and injuries that would eventually contribute to his death in 1900 at the age of 46.

What do you think the Monetly crew and team Dracula be in the 1920's vs the 1930's? Would there be things they'd like these eras?
Hyde will be in America so he is going to be bootlegging and going to speakeasies during the prohibition. I also see him getting very into cars, in 1925 he'll be the proud owner of a Rolls Royce Silver Ghost. Selma will stick with him, she can't be a monster hunter anymore but she still craves excitement, danger and adventure and those things seem to follow Edward around.
Quincey and Larry will have settled down together, Quincey will have opened his own practice and I see both of them being very into movies and the rise of jazz.
As musical hall style entertainment dies out Theo will transition to perusing a career in criminal law in the hopes that she can make a difference for the lower class by offering her services as a pro-bono lawyer. I see her really enjoying how accessible the rise home radio systems makes music through out the late 20s and 30s.
Watson and Holmes are living out their retirement in relative peace and quiet, both quite old in the 20s and 30s. I see them also enjoying the advent of commercial radio programming.
Speaking of Radio, I see Erik trying to find a way to work in the industry using the latest technology to run a radio station that records and broadcasts opera productions. The transmission of his Don Juan Triumphant was met with scandal and calls for censorship.
Adam will continue to live on the margins, keeping largely to himself, though when they become a thing he will frequent late night showings of movies and films. He'll be very intrigued when 1931 hits and he sees "Frankenstein" on the silver screen.
Team Dracula
Carmilla and Laura have settled down somewhere in the English countryside where they manage to live in relative peace. Laura is the more trendy of the two and is very into fashion and keeping up with the latest styles. She often asks Carmilla if she can try new hairstyles on her and Carmilla agrees because she's not going to say no to having her hair played with.
Griffin He's still invisible for this scenario so he lives by hiding out in people's houses and stealing from them, prefers wealthy houses to poor ones and if people get too suspicious he pretends he's a ghost and he's haunting the place. He can go for months living like that before he has to move on. His invisibility keeps him from being able to actually live a fully realized life and pursue hobbies so he's just kind of watching the world evolve.
Dracula in torpor where he belongs. If he were awake he wouldn't enjoy the advancement of the world, just regard it wearily as more things to research so he can at least pretend he fits in.
Dr Moreau taking an interest in the developments of cosmetic surgery as medicine becomes more advanced. Reluctantly considering that maybe he should use anesthetic when he does his experiments.
Dorian Gray has become a movie star, obsessed with making and staring in films some of which are surprisingly decent for being vanity projects.
Imhotep. Kind of like Dracula he's watching the world advance with weariness and a fear that it's moving to fast for him to keep up. Though he grows more and more compassionate to the displaced minorities and the outcasts who struggle through their continued oppression even as the world claims to become more enlightened.
Mephistopheles back in hell taking a time out through the 20s and 30s. Wouldn't appreciate those decades anyway.

The Doctor’s Rejuvenation
Tumblr media
Something I read online a few months ago led me to look into how the concept of regeneration had evolved over time in Doctor Who. I found a fascinating essay titled “When Was Regeneration Invented?” in Tat Wood and Lawrence Miles’s book, About Time 3: The Unauthorized Guide to Doctor Who. They make the solid point that regeneration was not always as we think of it now. It was originally more of a rejuvenation.
When the First Doctor turned into the Second, the implication was that this was not a natural biological process, nor was it the kind of change we are used to now. It was a rejuvenation caused by the TARDIS, and the Second Doctor was intended to be the same man as the First. He may not have been merely a younger version, but he was intended to have a similar personality, just with a younger and stronger body. They quote the script editor at the time, Gerry Davis, as describing those two Doctors like “Jekyll and Hyde.” So in many ways, Troughton was a way of seeing what Hartnell’s Doctor had been like in his youth, perhaps literally, perhaps only in terms of personality.
Even the regeneration between the Second Doctor and the Third was not what we are familiar with. This one happened as a punishment by the Time Lords when they catch up to our renegade Doctor. The Doctor reacts in shock at the prospect of having his face forcibly changed. Wood and Miles describe this procedure as a kind of Time Lord surgery, where the Doctor’s appearance was unnaturally altered but his interior self and personality were meant to remain unchanged. And even during the Third Doctor’s era, the notion of changing faces is not taken as a normal part of Time Lord life.
We finally get the regeneration we are more familiar with when the Third Doctor turns into the Fourth. The term itself is introduced, as is the notion that it is a natural part of a Time Lord’s life cycle. And more of the now-familiar lore would be introduced after that, especially in the Fourth Doctor’s era.
But it’s fascinating to think about how different this concept originally was. As franchises grow, lore is established and different ideas are standardized and organized in a way that makes sense. To a newcomer it all seems to fit together cohesively (mostly), but it is great to see how this whole is a synthesis of very different concepts. And it is fascinating to see what some of those ideas looked like in their original context.

Hyde attending Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour? More likely than you'd think...
Like many others, I share the head-canon that Jackie would be a Swiftie. I can see Jackie getting ready to attend The Eras Tour with a Lover-themed outfit (because let's be honest, that would definitely be her favorite Taylor Swift album), 13 painted across her hand, and Taylor's signature Eras-coordinated nails.
In 2023, Jackie's and Hyde's kids would be grown adults at this point, and I'm sure at least one of them would also be a Swiftie. So obviously, her kid(s) would be attending the concert with her. And you know, so would Hyde...willingly, too.
Okay, hear me out. I'm not calling Hyde a Swiftie - he most definitely is not. None of Taylor Swift's multi-genred catalogue aligns with Hyde's personal taste in music. But after being with Jackie for so long, I think he would have softened his criticism on her taste in music. More than that, although he may not necessarily enjoy Taylor Swift's music or the way Jackie plays it on repeat ad nauseum in the weeks building up to their show, I do think that Hyde would respect Taylor Swift as a songwriter, musician, and businesswoman in the music industry.
So whereas back in the day he never would've attended an ABBA concert with Jackie, when she asks him if he will go the Taylor Swift show with him 40 years in the future, he says yes and is surprised that he doesn't hate the idea.
And at the concert, Hyde won't be able to help the knowing look he exchanges with Jackie during Cruel Summer as they both think back to that first summer they hooked-up. And if Mine* and Paper Rings end up being the surprise songs as their shows, Hyde won't be able to help the way those songs tug on his heart as he is reminded of his decades-long history with Jackie.
*Taylor has already played Mine as a surprise song with Would've Could've Should've in Nashville...however, she did mess up the lyrics in Mine, which means that it is still possible that Jackie and Hyde could hear Cruel Summer, Mine, and Paper Rings in my imagination (lol).

Blog Introduction
18+ WARNING • ASKS & DMs ALWAYS OPEN • TERFS BEGONE
Tumblr media
Hello. You may know me as the anon that submitted the confessions about a vintage medical kink vampire autopsy and vampires mouth feeding each other blood during sex to the Monster Fucker Confessions blog. If so, you will know that I have recently realised that I am a transgender man and I cannot come out or transition for the moment in my everyday life since it isn’t 100% safe for me and I am not comfortable telling anyone in my life for right now. Therefore, this side blog is a way for me to vent about, interact with, or share things that I couldn’t do on my main blog since I have family that may see it.
I would like to go by the alias “Hyde” and I am for the moment experimenting with He/They/It pronouns. I am mostly attracted to masculine people of all genders, but I do have a preference for men. I am also a kinky asexual; my kinks include:
Forced Masculinisation.
Hierophilia (Priest kink).
Medical kink, especially if it involves vintage or antique medical equipment and aesthetics.
Teratophilia (monsterfucking), especially vampires, ghosts, Frankenstein’s monster and minotaurs, although I like all kinds of monsters. Aliens and robots are included under this.
Blood Kink (a given, since I’m also into vampires and med kinks).
I’m not sure what it’s called but I enjoy historical settings and clothing, usually the Victorian era.
I enjoy the feel/look of certain fabrics/materials such as velvet, corduroy, wool, linen or leather.
Asks are always open but I cannot guarantee a reply. Any advice on how to navigate being transgender while unable to come out/transition is always warmly welcomed.
TERFS GO AWAY. YOU CANNOT “SAVE” ME FROM TRANSMASCULINITY. YOU WILL JUST BE BLOCKED. IT’S ALREADY BAD ENOUGH THAT I AM TRAPPED ON TERF ISLAND.

This is my headcanon of Ajax.
Ajax is Pansexual and throughout his life, he has been attracted to many people. His secret childhood crush was Casper the Ghost and Tinkerbell. He has been in love with Yoko, Xavier, and Bianca. Currently, he is in love with Enid. He had a huge crush on Tyler in his freshman year.
Tyler is a year older and worked at the "Weathervane" café, that's where Ajax met him. Tyler was the handsome and always smiling barista. Ajax never really spoke to him, except to place his order. Every weekend, he dragged Xavier to Weathervane just to see him. His infatuation was shattered when he found out what he did to Xavier.
Currently, Ajax is okay with Tyler and, in fact, after getting over the fact that he is a Hyde and nearly killed everyone, they became great friends. He alternates between him and Xavier (although in my headcanon, Xavier and Ajax's friendship is broken when Xavier can't accept Wednesday's rejection and becomes obsessed).
Ajax sees Wednesday as a sister, although he doesn't say it out loud, and they silently agreed to take care of Enid. Surprisingly, they have built an incredible friendship as Ajax accompanies Wednesday on the violin during her cello practices, and they both enjoy the same mystery and horror writers.
Although Ajax knows Eugene has a crush on his girlfriend, it doesn't bother him, and he actually loves the kid like a little brother. He has been punished more than once along with Wednesday for defending Eugene from the bullies.
Ajax asks for help from Bianca, Yoko, Tyler, and Divina to plan the most romantic and beautiful dates to surprise Enid every weekend.
For Enid and Tyler's birthdays, Ajax got a job at Weathervane to be able to gift his girlfriend and his friend two tickets to "The Eras Tour" because he knows they both love and are fans of Taylor Swift.
While Enid and Tyler are at the concert, Wednesday and Ajax have a marathon of old horror movies.

Welcome to House of Milesverse's Unseen Stars! With Unseen Stars, we put the spotlight on lesser-known African American comic book characters. We want to pitch why they deserve more attention and how they are potential candidates for success.
Our guest today is already making waves, but with a little more attention, he could reach even greater heights. We'll be talking about the second Aqualad, Jackson Hyde. Feel free to share your thoughts and recommendations for any other Unseen Stars you would like to see.

Who is 'Kaldur'Ahm'?
The character of the second Aqualad is quite interesting due to his origins. There is two versions of the character Kaldur'Ahm from the TV series. Kaldur's comic book counterpart is Jackson Hyde.
Kaldur'Ahm made his debut in the Cartoon Network animated series Young Justice. Instead of using the original Aqualad, Garth, the creators opted for something different. Grant Weisman, Phil Bourassa, and Brandon Vietti created Kaldur'Ahm as a prominent character in all four seasons.
In season 1, Kaldur'Ahm was the team leader. In season 2, he became an antagonist with his father, Black Manta. He was a spy, and the team used him to gain information.
In season 3, Kaldur'Ahm took on a new identity as Aquaman and became a member of the Justice League. In season 4, he took a break from his duties and learned to relax. He still chose to help the heroes find Superboy.
Who is 'Jackson Hyde':
In a way, Kaldur would find his way into the DCU through Jackson Hyde. Geoff Johns, DC's chief creative officer at the time, helped create him. He saw value in the idea, and found a way to rework it into the DC Universe.
Essentially, Jackson Hyde is the 'comic adaptation' of Kaldur'Ahm'. He debuted in Brightest Day before the series had premiered. Unlike Kaldur, Jackson Hyde was raised on the surface world. He was an average teenager who knew nothing about his atlantean origin.

Jackson Hyde is the comic book adaptation of Kaldur'Ahm. He debuted in Brightest Day before the series had premiered. Unlike Kaldur, Jackson Hyde was raised on the surface world and knew nothing about his Atlantean origin.
During the DC Rebirth era, Jackson Hyde appeared in Teen Titans Rebirth. In this version however, Jackson is already aware of his powers but not his heritage. He also is a gay man who had a boyfriend prior to the series.
Jackson Hyde's mother, Lucia, was from Xebel, an Atlantean kingdom in the Bermuda Triangle. His father was the supervillain Black Manta, Aquaman's archenemy. Lucia helped Manta track down an ancient artifact. She did not know his true intentions however.
When Lucia learned about what Manta really wanted, she fled. Lucia eventually gave birth to Jackson, who had powerful hydrokinetic abilities like his mother. She forced him to keep his powers a secret, and they moved to New Mexico.
Destiny always has a way of finding its calling. Jackson had big dreams of becoming a superhero and making a name for himself. He hoped to join the Teen Titans, but they turned him down. It wasn't until he saved Robin from drowning that he finally joins the team.
However, Jackson's story doesn't end there. He later discovers that his father is the Black Manta. He meets Tempest, who offers him the name Aqualad, and he becomes a sidekick to Aquaman before taking on the title himself.
The history between Jackson Hyde and Kaldur'Ahm is also quite interesting. They are excellent reflections of each other. Kaldur'Ahm's creation is similar to Harley Quinn and X-23. He was created for a TV show but found later success as a comic book character, much like these two.
What are their powers?
Tumblr media
Aqualad possesses the unique ability to shape, control, and manipulate water in his immediate surroundings. He inherits this power from his mother, similar to how Mera controls water. However, his manipulation of water is not as advanced as hers.
Aqualad uses two hilt devices called 'Waterbearers' to channel his power. These devices act as a conduit that lets him create fluid water constructs. He can create anything from whips, flails, axes, and swords.
Beyond water manipulation, Aqualad possesses enhanced strength, speed, and agility. He can adapt to the water beneath and becomes faster, stronger and more durable while in water. Additionally, he can unleash electrical currents by channeling them through water or his hands.
Why do they deserve a push?
Distinct ability:
Tumblr media
Aqualad possesses many of the same attributes as Aquaman. Naturally this is expected since he is the king of Atlantis' sidekick. However, he differs in some areas, and lacks Arthur's iconic marine telepathy.
Instead, he makes up for it with his two waterbearers. The blades help shape water into objects. They can basically create constructs like Green Lantern, such as hammers or swords.
The waterbearers are dynamic and creative for hydrokinetic purposes. They are another iconic part of Jackson (and Kaldur)'s design. These tools also give Jackson a distinct attribute that Arthur does not have.
A claim to the mantle:
Tumblr media
Jackson Hyde is not currently Aqualad anymore. He took the name Aquaman in Aquaman: The Becoming. Kaldur'Ahm also did this prior in Young Justice. During the gap between seasons 2 and 3, Kaldur became Aquaman and Arthur retired.
This path to success could be a development for Jackson to take in other media. You could develop him as a successor to Arthur and the next king of Atlantis. Jackson Hyde's role could be a good opportunity for the films to introduce a black Aquaman.
He's already popular enough, just not on our radar:
Tumblr media
It is no surprise that this iteration of Aqualad is already well-known. He debuted in the 2010s just when Young Justice was gaining widespread popularity. Since then, Aqualad has become a part of DC Comics main continuity. DC even made him a prominent member of the Teen Titans during their Rebirth era.
Jackson Hyde and Kaldur'Ahm are prominent enough that most dedicated fans could recognize them. However, I think he can go further than where he is currently at. He has all the tools needed to make him go mainstream.
In Conclusion:
Writing Unseen Stars has been a blast. I have enjoyed getting to know more about these characters. I hope that you guys had fun as well.
I have made it my job to jot down more future references. When Unseen Stars comes back, we will be covering some new additions. Expect to see Nubia, Frenzy, Prodigy, M, and Steel!
Our next topic will be discussing the Simple & Clean nature of Kingdom Hearts. Tune on in!

Wednesday fanfic idea to Addamsify the serie:
After TOA, Nico decides to go to Nevermore because it is protected like the Camps, the Hotels and the Nomes (he obviously knows about all mythologies) and he wants to go to a regular school because he never went to one.
Wednesday went to the regular high school we saw in the show but she wanted to show the bullies how to really torture people ( Pugsley: "I've been tortured since more than a decade and those guys managed to make it super boring, like hello it sucks and you are the stupidest people I have ever met") so she brought an axe and a guillotine to school. It scared the staff so they got her fired and they assigned her a therapist.
When Wednesday arrives to Nevermore, people try to force them together because "wow a goth-emo obsessed by the dead scary couple" not knowing that Nico is gay and Wednesday is a lesbian (also they got it wrong, Nico can't NOT stay around dead people and Wednesday has interests that could be seen as a villain's but people are oblivious and she's not mean on purpose, just autistic-> allergic to color + noise-cancelling headphones)
They bond over the fact that Nico is not scared by Thing, did murders and funerals and Wednesday is really interested by Nico's powers and his knowledge of creepy stuff. They become investigators besties and they tell each other stories about the Addams family and Nico's experience of morbid stuffs.
Gomez and Morticia enjoyed being followed by a guy obsessed with her (Gomez is too, but not like that) and they found it really romantic. After Morticia killed the guy, Gomez said: "I think I just fell even more in love with you. I didn't know it was possible." And they kissed passionately until they heard the "thud" of the body hitting the ground, so Gomez took the sword and he went to look, that's when Larissa saw him. He took the blame for her, like in canon.
Wednesday knew about the story, her parents told her countless times. When she went grave digging, Nico and Morticia went with her and Nico summoned a bone to show an evidence. Also, before putting a rose on the grave, she cut the head so she only put the stem on the grave (og Morticia!!)
Wednesday told her parents about the visions because she has an awesome relationship with them. They are really supportive about that.
And since Goody is more of a title (like Mrs but in Puritan era, the era the flashbacks are set in) than a name, she's called Anarchy (or any cool name to oppose her to Crackstone). Also her mother always dreamt to die in flames, hated by her enemies. Don't forget to erase the "You don't know what it's like not to be believed" because the mayor does actually.
The mayor's son, Lucas, has to exchange roles with Tyler because it will have the same dynamic. Tyler's still the Hyde tho, but Lucas is more believable as the friendly barista. It won't be as OOC as Lucas' "change of mind" and what Tyler did to Xavier really justifies it + the combo Hyde/bully really works for me (Tyler's *chuckles wryly* annoyed me A LOT during the show)
NO MORE BOYS LOVE INTERESTS! Wenclair all the way, Lucas, Xavier and Ajax are better as friends. Thing helps Wenclair instead of Tyler or Xavier, and Xavier's not jealous and kinda has a crush on Lucas (modern! Jegulus AU) . Also, Bianca x Yoko as Dorlene.
Wednesday's assumptions aren't as false because Nico summons ghost detectives such as Di Renjie (Detective Dee, the Sherlock Holmes of China) and ghost spies (comeback of dead demigods) to help them figure out.
Gomez says "cara mia" and Morticia says "mon cher". He was preparing to break out when they got him out. (Gomez: "It will still be a great story to tell to the family, Tish"). As soon as he got out, Lurch gave him and the sheriff a sword and he challenged him to a sword fight. When the mayor tried to interrupt, Lurch gave him a sword too.
The music plays when they snap twice.
Nico helps Wednesday with her visions (Nico: "It's similar to demigods' dreams. I tried to IM Clovis for advice but he didn't reply") and after Enid roomed with Yoko he tells her about Will (SOLANGELO!) so she figures out that Enid is her significant annoyance
Nico and Wednesday befriend Eugene because they have to have a side activity and Nico thinks Aristaeus is Eugene's godly parent (his moms adopted him). When Eugene gets hurt because Nico went to the ball too (he saw this as an occasion to invite Will), Neeks curses the Hyde (or kills him) and Will supervises Eugene's healing (also the mayor's later)
Here it is, help to rewrite the story. Take it if you want, but credit me and send it to me because I would love to read it.

I can comment on Griffin, he doesn't do anything surgery related either lmao. He turns invisible with radiation from a machine he made. Microwaved his ass into invisibility
see i don't even see why its a contest really. Victor would have had to have at least a semi-decent understanding of anatomy and surgery practices to be able to stitch corpses into a creature- not to mention the fact that Adam was specifically designed to be an attractive dude so I imagine Victor would have some eye for the kinds of aesthetics something like top surgery requires
and what? his competition is the result of a potion of bring-out-the-worst-in-you (not even the doctor with morals literally the embodiment of his worst traits and desires??) and some invisible engineer? you're really telling me you trust edward hyde to not just kill you not to mention actually give you good results??? again I can't speak to the moral character of griffin but if he's not any sort of medical doctor then he's just as likely to kill you by complete accident during surgery
im not saying mr dropped out of med school in the victorian era when doctors still didn't agree on washing their hands before surgery wouldn't be just as likely to accidentally kill you during surgery- just that I'd be more inclined to trust a man with a little bit of medical training than a chemist or engineer
and while we're on the topic- herbert west is a 50/50 if he'd give a good surgery result or if he kills you on purpose to test his reagent. if he actually does the surgery properly I'd trust him but he's just as likely to kill me on purpose. I would trust medic tf2 to do my top surgery solely because I think he'd give good results and also would give me like an extra heart or something and I can't see any way in which that goes horribly wrong :) and before you ask he wouldn't steal my bones because medic tf2 is trans masc and a trans alley he would never do that to a fellow trans person
