honestly the way the fandom portrays sebastian and makes him this self loathing, suffering boy when all he is in canon is homophobic and racist... real fuckin weird. like, they're so obsessed with trying to give this sad backstory to an asshole white man when there are not awful, diverse characters who can actually give that in canon. idk, it just rubs me the wrong way when i see such a large portion of the fandom acting like he's the victim

I've gotten disgusting racist messages about certain characters that I delete right away bc I'm not going to put that out there. But knowing people think like that and freely send their racist garbage to other bloggers while Sebastian is sitting there as like fifth popular character in the fandom... Those things don't mesh well for me (: I hate him and I hate the interest in him period .

ive read hundreds of thousands of words of hatecrimes md fanfic in the past week i need to cycle thru my other ships and detox lol
#no ive not actually properly sat down and watched the series#it's just one of those things i watched (a) long video essay(s) on and then latched onto the gay ship in a fanfic drought#the pther one of these i have is p*cific r*m#with middle aged gay scientists instead of doctors (tho they do have phds so technically... but i digrwss)#also i was unfortunately fortunately in the w*tcher n*tflix fandom for a bit so theres also those fics#of which there are aplenty which is nice but it's also harder to find all the ones ive liked that i havent saved#i used to read g**d *m*ns fanfic until i watched s2#which i thoroughly enjoyed ftr but after i finished it i was not in a fic reading mood i was in a 'i need a new season' mood#damn. idk if i cycle through any other fandoms for fics#there are def a couple other fandoms i check out tags for#but quantity wise there isnt enough stuff i really like to go full binge mode with those#i'll read a fic or two when it comes up is all

i feel like since i started that fic ive changed as a writer so much and would do it so differently, there were parts of that fic that i dont really like i would probably take out, and it would probably have less chapters but longer chapters

What are your favorite marble hornets poly ships :3
Short answer? Literally any combination that includes Alex. Long answer?
The classic fournets is probably my favorite, i like that theyre all in love and together and happy. I like the inclusion of Seth for totheark reasons, and sometimes the bridge of Alex with Amy connecting to Sarah and Jess, but at times that makes my mind too complicated fjdjd.
I also really like occasional smaller groups of three. My partner roleplays as Seth a lot- started as a coincidental side character back when they only played Tim, but then when we made stuff more serious and they took on Brian too, Seth just sort of naturally fell into place. He’s become a super fully fleshed out character to the both of us, and just really naturally fits in with the other four guys. I know some people find it annoying when Seth gets treated like a big character when he was only in three entries and think it can be mysogonistic that the lady characters dont get the same treatment, and while I see where they’re coming from, I have no issue with making the lady characters equally fleshed out and important, and so I enjoy doing the same with Seth :3 i just like gay people more than straight and i dont often put the girls and guys together unless im in the mood for it lmao
Moving on from that, some throuple ships i have a soft spot for are:
Brian/Alex/Tim
Alex/Tim/Jay
Alex/Tim/Seth (this one sounds random but just trust me)

I havent read the comics beyond the first issue, and i really dont know the characters at all T_T id like to read them, but i am also quite bad at reading comics to begin with. Maybe some day the comic characters will start appearing in my posts and yall will know i finally overcame my struggle!

Taylor/Jessica/Amy seems like it would be cute :3 or going bigger with Taylor/Jessica/Amy/Sarah also seems very good.
Ive written fic and stuff about Amy and Alex before, so i do enjoy them, but I havent played with them much on the poly side of things. I bet it would be fun tho! I have an rp going on where Sarah is dating Brian, and Brian is dating Alex, and Alex is dating Tim, and that sort of extended line of a polycule has been SUPER fun! I’d say I really like Brian and Sarah together for sure, and would probably pair them up a lot more.
Being a multi shipper is awesome. Being an actual polyamorous person who likes multi shipping is more awesome. And liking a media where all of the characters have the potential for so much chemistry between them all is even more awesome :3 i could probably get behind just about any polyship this fandom can come up with LMAO

the last one im adding just bc i saw a post about it right before i started answering this ask: the full moon doesnt make remus horny. its a traumatic experience for him and he associates it with everything he fears - pain and loosing control. for a few days before the full he feels sick and weak and he hates everything and sirius has to fight tooth and nail to just get him under a blanket for a cuddle. right after the full he is exhausted and in pain. the further from the full the easier it is to get him in the mood, basically. (i feel like im the only one. at least on this one post every response was the opposite. i read just one ff with a similar thing - where its the new moon that makes werewolves horny.) i am not opposed to remus being horny right after the full tho
las one I just remembered: the hogwarts express has more than two stops. for gods sake. those kids arent travelling to London from Edinburgh just to spend the whole day on the train on the way back. (check out this map) all of the stations have platforms like 3 ⅓, 2 ⅚ and so on of course.

So since the Good-Omens-Season-2-Leak-Fandom-War has started to calm a little in the past week or so, I'd like to calmly share my thoughts on the matter:
(ALSO OBVIOUS SPOILER WARNING, I WILL BE GOING OVER BREIFLY ABOUT THE LEAK, SO IF YOU HAVENT SEEN IT, DONT CONTINUE READING THIS POST AND EITHER:

I send my condolences to the living author, everybody working on the show, and anyone who didn't want to see the spoiler and are quite upset about it. I sympathize with you and understand that it fucking sucks to be spoiled (thanks amazon prime...)
On the other hand, I myself went out of my way to find the leak since I have no self control (if you're looking for it, search up the leak on YouTube and scroll through a few vids) and it has only further pushed my excitement for season two. I cannot wait to see the scene because all we have gotten to see was a small, blurry quip of the scene (or at least me from what I had found) and it is only pushing my love for the show, Aziraphale, and Crowley even more (thanks amazon prime!)
I've also come across many tiktoks talking about their excitement, but going out of their way to talk about wanting to see a kiss scene between them forever, causing a small spark in the community that only pushed the wildfire from the leak.
Let me be clear: They do NOT need a kiss scene to express their love, being ace, supernatural beings. I'm not saying they shouldn't have one and that I'm upset about it, if anything the opposite is true, but I hate that a good portion of the fandom feels like it is required. I would be just excited about them holding hands, or hugging, or even having one of their heads on the other's shoulder.
We don't NEED a kiss scene, but we WANT a kiss scene, if that makes any sense.
Again, I send comfort and apologies to the authors (dead or alive since Gaiman apparently said before it had always meant to be a romantic piece of media) for this being leaked and having no control over the wildfire, but I hope this doesn't sour or dampen anyone's mood when season 2 comes out.

What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? i love a happy ending!! my series Odysseus in White Silk is probably the happiest ending, and in such an undeserved way hahaha it's so very AU because i was sad after s1 of the show and just wanted them all (and armandaniel) to live happily ever after
8. Do you get hate on fics? i dont think i ever have, but i tend to read comments in good faith too, so maybe someone out there is annoyed that i interpreted their vague dislike comment as a genuine comment or something, idk. in general though, i'll say no

If so, what kind? yes but i dont post that often, idk if there's a particular kind, but generally it tends to be a little rougher than is probably appropriate without discussion in real-life situations, but also very...idk my friend described it as very tender, like theyre very clearly in love. which is so funny considering that that kind of tenderness irl gives me fucking hives lmfao
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? oh wow, not in a long time. i do have a wip sitting around rn that's a crossover between london spy and cloud atlas, which is really crazy until you remember that ben whishaw is in both london spy and the cloud atlas movie lol. and cloud atlas is already about weird reincarnations and parallel worlds and stuff, so it isnt too out-there.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? yes!! The Face of God was translated into Korean by ao3 user Crescent919 !! i've had a few comments on other fics asking to translate for personal use (always yes, of course), but no one else has asked to share a translation publicly

14. What’s your all time favorite ship? all-time? probably merlin/arthur from merlin (bbc). it's the whole fate-destiny-choice thing, it just compels me like nothing else

What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? hmmm, i would like to finish Roswell -- well, kinda (agent carter farm girl / alien crash landing au) because i still have all the original notes and outlines and stuff. i also made a shitty conlang when i was first writing it, which is crazy lol. but it would need some pretty serious revisions, and i would definitely rewrite the first few chapters that i posted years ago. i just kind of lost the agent carter bug, but i might return to that fic if i ever get in the mood for it again.

What are your writing strengths? ooh, i'm not really sure! i get a lot of comments mentioning characters' voices and/or personalities, so i would say maybe that!!! i also feel that i'm fairly good at mimicking an author's writing style when i want to (notably, i do not mimic anne rice when writing vc fic, lol)
17. What are your writing weaknesses? editing for sure. i have at least a hundred fics sitting on my hard drive fully or almost-fully written that i just need to edit. but i would simply rather die than do all of that. it's also why my whole merlin fic got put on pause while i went down the vc rabbithole, because i just can't bring myself to go edit the next chapters lol
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? hmm, i think it's usually unnecessary and comes off as a bit silly. that said, i did do it once (maybe excessively) in Daniel Molloy, Time Bandit (1984 daniel ends up in 1794 theatre des vampires, it's more of a character study than a time travel fic) BUT, let me defend myself -- i did it because daniel doesnt understand french, it's his pov, and he's incredibly confused and distraught for most of the fic. i felt like the dialogue being in french conveyed this sort of "daniel does not belong in this time/place" vibes. but, also, my french is...a little rough. so i'm sure it's an annoying fic for french readers lmao

Favourite fic you’ve written? ok, i have three different answers for this. the fic i think is the best, objectively, in terms of writing and content: The Story of Dani [...] (r63 devil's minion from armand's pov, starting with lestat's house). the fic i am the proudest of, mostly because it was my first "big" fic (it's funny now, bc it's only 41k) and i feel like i grew a lot as a writer while working on it, and i'm still happy with it: The Face of God (les mis pov javert, character study from childhood). the fic i have the most fun with and think about almost 24/7: Arthur Pendragon, Long May She Reign (r63 merthur, canon divergence, this is like a 4-part series that's currently over 300k lmao)

I havent heard of pale and i Dont Go Here, so to speak, but i find it interesting that people are interpreting that post as an attack on her, because my reaction to that post was just ‘yeah, mood lol’.
I think the thing people miss is like… when you’re reading a web series that isnt that short, you can usually assume that the writer is writing it as they go. When the word counts nearing 3 million, thats almost guaranteed. Which isnt necessarily a super bad thing, but- novels and traditional series differ in that once theyre done, *the entire thing* gets edited. The whole narrative gets edited in one go to make sure, yknow, all the interactions are consistent, all the characters have arcs, the plot is clear, etc etc. And theyre ALSO edited to make them shorter and make sure all the scenes that remain are important and all the characters are necessary. Web series dont usually get that editing, and when they get super long, you can sort of assume that hasnt been done, and for 3 million words… thats a lot
Yes, the lack of editing in Worm and wildbow’s other serials is discussed in this fandom quite a lot! As is the fact that they are almost certainly never going to get edited or published as books :/

a game i played + an infodump
the free visual novel cemetery mary by arcadekitten! i really love cemetery mary and i can go on about it for hours, which is why i'll keep this infodump short bc i might just be typing here for hours and i wont get any sleep.
it's about a girl named mary anta (design is based on a manta ray), whose parents had mysteriously vanished without a trace one day. there's rumors of a killer in her city, called the blackwood butcher, and she suspects that her parents disappeared because of the butcher. she also texts a 'mysterious number' that claims her parents are alive and well.
she may look scary in the title screen but don't be fooled! she's a sweet and soft girl who simply has darker interests (such as the concept of death and cemeteries, as the title suggests).
here's mary hanging out with the other characters—crowven, twyla, and reginald. the player can pursue a route with any of these characters where mary will hang out with them and get closer to them. each route has a vastly different story and even genre/theme, and they lead to their own good and bad endings. i feel like it's easy to get the bad endings at first though... and they can get veeerrryyy VERY fucked up. there is also a true ending which is very entertaining and mysterious but leads to a happy ending.
i have about 42 hours in the game. yeah i got very obsessed with it... i like visual novels a lot and despite the occasional fucked up moments i enjoy CM because it's very chill and the characters are written well. and there's just something about how the game is designed that scratches my brain.
i got introduced to the game by a friend 2-ish years ago. we don't talk anymore but i liked that friend a lot... i didn't start playing CM until a few months later though

1. ride or die ship (your otp): CUNNINGWAY!!! They’re my girls. Chrissy and Heather my beloveds. I have never been so hyped for a ship before and this is the first time I’ve put this much effort into one, but if I don’t advocate for this rarepair then who will? (the answer is bambi. bambi will. but whatever, you get the point)
2. most annoying ship: there isn’t really a ship i find WHOLLY annoying. stancy maybe. i also think jancy and mileven have ran their course and jopper gives me a lil bit of the ick. obvi no hate to the ships or those that ship it!!
3. second favourite ship: ima have to say harringrove, but there are others i like a lot too!!
4. favourite platonic relationship: heather, chrissy & billy. the chaos trio. more should be done with them <3
5. underrated ship: there are so many!! argyle/chrissy (which i am lovingly referring to as pompompinapple, just try and stop me)? byergrove (billy/jonathan)? calicheer (billy/chrissy)??? how can i possibly choose????
6. overrated ship: uhhhh this feels dangerous. but steddie. dont get me wrong, i love this ship, but the boom in works for them was INSANE cause i dont think they have TOO MUCH chemistry in canon (tho there 100% is a good bit and it makes sense)
7. one thing i would change in canon: the blatant lack of care the main cast have for characters outside their group. no empathy for billy, barely anyone looking into heather, characters dying that no one mentions again…
8. something canon did right: I really liked steve and dustin’s dynamic. like, a LOT. they cocked it up a bit in s4 for the sake of ‘haha, dumb steve’ but yeah. theyre sweet :)
9. a thing i’m proud of creating for the fandom: my sideblog @poolsidepanic . i know that its a niche ship but i hope i help other people who love them as much as me actually be able to enjoy their ship and not just… be disappointed when they come up empty handed. the art and little fics and such i make over there make me so happy <3
10. a character who is perfect to me (wouldnt change a thing): heather. sassy, bitchy, yet kindhearted lifeguard? yes. the only thing id change is the DISSERVICE THE DUFFERS GAVE HER WHEN THEY KILLED HER AND IGNORED HER EXISTENCE.
11. the character i relate most to the most and why: steve. just how he responds to the offhanded comments the people he cares about make to him, that they never seem to realise hurt.

13. something ive learned from the fandom: idk. ive always wanted to be a positive person but seeing some of the toxicity in the fandom has made me really want to keep my little blog as positive and safe as i can for everyone. some things we see SUCK but if i can make someones day a lil better id like to? so not really a learn but an encouragement to be nicer wherever i can
14. three tags i seek out on ao3: i dont read a lot of st fanfiction, actually. i havent been in the mood for it for AGES!! but in general im a slow burn, hurt/comfort, angst kind of person. i love the occasional, agonising right person not enough time or some character bashing for the sake of compelling suffering (if done right!!!)
15. a song i strongly associate with my otp/favourite character: ooooh fun!!! ‘Groan’, ‘Wet’ and ‘Maggot’ by Dazey and the Scouts are so Billy. ‘Drunk Walk Home’ by Mitski gives me Chrissy vibes, and ‘Maggot’ again for her tbh (billy and chrissy, my sad beloved blorbos). there arent any songs i associate with cunningway yet tho 😔

Tanjiro kamado from demon slayer/kimetsu no yaiba: i think tanjiros positivity and energetic personality would be a pretty good example i think but tanjiro really cares about others and will literally risk his own life just to save someone, so like if there was ever a tanjiro spiderman i feel like tanjiro would just be super positive and kind with miles. Like literally if someone is mad at tanjiro or something like that one scene in season 3 where genya is just being grumpy but tanjiro uses his best boi eyes and makes genya literally stunned lol. But tanjiro would also be also comforting and caring to miles because like just imagine if miles was sad and stuff but tanjiro is like "nuh uh!" And comforts him LIKE HHSHSHSHS!! Even in the anime he's caring and super kind,super light hearted,very pure like hes just a happy fella and i think miles needs a postive friend like tanjiro cuz if yall watched itsv and atsv...yk what poor miles had to go through bro😭
Deku/ Izuku Midoriya: OKK just a quick uhhh explaining uhmm...i haven't watched..mha.. IMM SORRYY IK UR GONNA HATE ON ME CUZ OF IT BUT LISTEENNNN!! HEAR ME OUT. i saw one fanart of a cool crossover with the characters miles and Deku and i just thought that they might be cool friends even tho i havent watched the anime or read the manga. Kel/kelsey from omori: Again just like tanjiro. Kind of. Again i feel like miles needs an friend that is super positive and always tries to lighten the mood. Literally when mari died kel was still happy and joyful. Thats literally because he tries to lighten the mood of his friends and make them happy again like LAST YEARS BRO! He literally tried to help aubrey to stop bullying basil and tried maybe helping her to come back to the friend group like years ago yk? So imagine if frickin spider man kel or whatever actually does that to miles when he feels sad to? And plus i think kel and miles would be an pretty powerful duo as both spiderman lol.

Look ive never played pjsk before cuz of storage issues so i could never even detect what lens actual personality is like but to me he seems out going and funni:) and idk something about them screams best friends yk?
Hero/Henry (yes thats his real name..) from omori: wowzers another omori character. Yeah i kinda ran outta ideas so i just chose another omori character! But lemme cook rq brosters. If kel could be bros with miles then kels brother TOO!!! 1 he could prob teach miles some cooking recipes even tho he quitted doing that. 2 i feel like hero and miles would be like brother figure dynamic prob like kel i guess? And again MILES NEEDS MORE CARING FRIENDS BRO!! AND HERO IS CARING CUZ HE LITERALLY SAVED SUNNY FROM DROWNING AND BASIL TOO!!

THIS IS KINDA LONG SO ITS UNDER A CUT. i have a lot of thoughts because holyyyy shit this guy is me. they put me in limbus company
warning for discussion of self harm and self destructive tendencies but its not too in depth
heathcliff is transmasc genderfluid bisexual because i am and im projecting. he's gotten top surgery but it wasnt by the best doctor so it looks a bit odd but hes got enough scars all over that it doesnt rly matter. and hes on testosterone, how he managed to secure it living on the backstreets i dont CARE im not here to figure that out
genderfluid not in the male female nonbinary way but in the I dont fucking know sometimes im a guy sometimes im something else but usually a guy kinda way
he has borderline personality disorder, not even just me projecting here though thats a part of it
he's impulsive as hell, does self destructive things because ^^^^^^^ bpd. this is exacerbated by the fact that he can just Come Back To Life so he doesnt need to be careful anymore. he doesnt like pain but he also doesnt like himself and feels like he deserves pain + he just doesnt care to be careful and not self destruct because Oh i can come back so its fine
sneaking suspicion some of his scars are not entirely inflicted by other people. even if he doesnt like. Do it himself he throws himself into dangerous situations as a way to self harm
he's got all that bpd shit goin on including dissociation/emptiness, mood swings, he struggles with his sense of self and identity and worth and hes fucking terrified of abandonment to the point he will sabotage his own relationships because it hurts less to do that than to be left behind or hurt
he's also autistic! i havent done as much thinking on this its mostly just projection here honestly
i dont wanna go too heavily into speculation for his chapter because i hate the idea of being wrong about it but i think he and cathy had a really turbulent relationship that was not great on both sides. i havent read the source material but i think its like that in the book as well. i dont think its gonna be a relationship that you would want to root for
he gets angry a lot because like, he takes things very personally and has very bad self esteem so anything you say to him he will not take well and instead of getting sad about it his brain defaults to anger because Can't show weakness in front of others. he's competitive as a result because he wants to prove to others and himself that he's not a trash heap of a human being and actually has some worth
not a headcanon but hes not fucking stupid can the fandom stop calling him stupid f or one second and read the goddamn dialogue. he's highly observant and street smart and when he's not being impulsive he has good ideas and thinks things through

Honstly I'm just a big fan of any fic Vampire Vengence (author of Bandana Code) puts out. Neondanger (author of Star-Crossed) has some goodies for when I'm in the mood for some filthy smut. So If you havent had the chance to do a deep dive through all their fics then I'd reccomend them.
Bellawritess also is a great author. Their fics top out with an M rating so no smut, but they have a few of my fave fics.
You may have read Erode, but the same author put out the first part of a new fic Just To Seal My Fate this year (I think?) and I am very patiently waiting the second half.

Bless you for giving the Callakarth a chance, I don't think you'll regret it. Jalex was obviously my absolute number one when I first entered the fanfiction side of this fandom (anyone recall my old URL?) but I can't tell you enough how much it will benefit you to branch into other ships because there's a lot of amazing stuff by great authors that isn't Jalex. And obviously there's nowhere near as much being written for the fandom now so looking at things that aren't Jalex just means you have more to read in the meantime.

Aaaaand I'm currently in the process of reading the newest (?) Jalex that we know of, A Very Festive Façade. I started it last night and only got a quarter of the way through it before I had to go to bed but I wanna give it a shoutout because Kalina is another person who still publishes in the fandom and we need that!!!
I mostly steered away from smut out of laziness, and also because there are so many faves that are SUPER popular (at least for Jalex).

I really like these two there’s not a lot of content for the fandom as a whole soooo here’s my submission as I get every moment of these two royals who literally share a braincell (and I love them for it) First up this is just on the manga if you are anime only its going to have stuff you havent seen, yes even with what the anime covers (so read it) and there will be spoilers so beware. SO Suya pulls Twilight along on her nonsense and also father inlaw is here
ANd it's all cause she had a dream about this bath place
No matter how ridiculous he thinks it is he keeps following, also Suya admits she interupts meetings on purpose
Suya's dreams turned out to be true and she jokes a little
Turns out the former king had made it and the three enjoy it all while father and son bond
Suya calls Leo an old man again
Castle issues again I just like how Suya is front and center but Hades doesnt want to help this time
So Suya makes due
ANd it really impresses Twilight
SO she starts making little houses she knows what Twilight cares about
But she overworks and hasn't eaten I love how over the top Twilight is here
SO they make her food and Twilight serves her directly (now spoon feed her sorry its one of my fav tropes)
After she revitalizes Suya Suyas and goes over board making a castle town
And Twilight realizes she's completely right and berates himself for not thinking of it
He cutely makes it into a competition
But while he focuses on that SUya turns the demon castle to suit her tastes. In order to fix it Twilight has to use his full power and he's afraid to do so because he doesnt want other (particularly Suya) to find him scary
He thinks his fears are being realized
But SUya is just severely face blind
The situation is explained and Twilight is back to worrying
But as always SUya throws him through a loop I like that she considers him pitiful
This eases the mood of everyone else but more importantly Suya seems to like this form
And she begins playing with him like usual
Twilight realizes that everyone has calmed down over his second form since Suya did
He is touched by this thinking he'll be able to maintain the state of the castle while looking cool but
SUya ruins it.

Kuroko no basket - 10/10 This is the second sport animes i watched in the past AND DAMN THIS IS GOOD ASF! It may be unrealistic(cause of the zone and other things) but i like the light moods and relationships they have here. The ending tho i'ma cry my ass of-
Slam dunk - 10/10 I havent finished this yet but uhm.... All i can say is this is more realistic compared to kuroko no basket... And also they all be relatable asf- This one deals with darker themes
Haikyuu - 999/10 idk what to say abt this one yet i have many things to say... I fking love this anime!!! First of all, The relationships, animations, battles, and backstory are damn good. I remember i used to watch this anime in like- 3 am in the morning 💀
Spy X Family - 9/10.... NOW NOW PLZ CALM DOWN- 😭😭😭 This is my opinion and i dont want y'all to attack me with this one- But for me... I think spy x family is kinda.... Uhm... Overhyped..? I'm not saying i dont like it! But its more of overhyped for me. I saw the comments first and they were all damn hyped.. so i have high expectations... But when i watched the anime i kind off didn't got the uhmm.. how do i say this.... The vibes? I dunno- but overall the animations and their family are so damn sweet 😭
Tokyo revengers - 100/10 IM STILL WAITING FOE THE SEASON 2 JSJAKAMSSB ITS SO GOOD 😭😭😭 AND ALSO THEIR TRAUMAS DAMNNNN, When i saw the 'its mikeys fault' meme i was like 'who tf is mikey?' and then procceed to watch the anime. ITS ALL KAZUTORAS FAULTT 😭😭😭😭. The plot and the songs are- 😩👌✨
